immersive & engaging. I think this game had just the right balance of challenge & reward to keep you interested and committed to the end. I had to peek at the walk-through a few times but you can quit those at any time to avoid spoilers. i played it a few hours at a time over the course of a few rainy days at random times. a cleverly thought out puzzle with a fun theme. be cool if you could choose genders of the player & romantic interest. def a fan of the developers! will be looking for more from them for sure. 🙏🏻

Never disappoints. Always quirky, always entertaining, the Rusty Lake theme continues to work. Immediately identifiable, it's original art and and music, plus the morbid sense of humor -- and the challenge, of course, make me long for the next game. Makes me hate to finish because there's nothing else like it. Their stuff is good and it doesn't get old. I don't think twice about paying for these games -- to me it's always worth it. This one was a bit shorter than usual but I liked the one-room-played-many-ways idea.

Simultaneously amazed and disappointed. I love Rusty Lake games like I love chocolate cake and champagne. They are far and away the best games in the genre. And there was much to love about this one, which played more like a short novel than like a game. But. It was SO short. And so lacking in the wonderfully twisted aesthetic and clever puzzle construction I have come to expect from these devs. It is well worth playing and I recommend it, and I think I grok what they were trying to do here. But I hoped for more, and was left feeling a little unsatisfied. Nevertheless, I remain a rabid fan and will pay for and play anything these devs deign to release.

Perfection!. The whole RL series is like a beauriful puzzle that you have all the pieces to but no idea how it all fits together because you don’t have the whole picture. And maybe you put something amazing together just based on your feelings and interpretations. The White Door is the whole picture of that puzzle that the brilliant minds at RL and Second Maze finally gave us. It is beautiful and deceptively simple: simple because you click or drag, and the mini games are not hard. But the storyline is so complex and wonderful. The entire RL saga is to games what Harry Potter is to books - completely original and magical. Nothing can ever take its place. I can’t wait to get more Rusty Lake!

Emotional side of the rusty lake universe. The love story between Bob and Laura that this chapter portraits really gives me many ‘feels’ and I just can’t help feeling a bit sad for what had happened to them. I have played all rusty lake series and cube escape series(except paradox which I will play next and finally), but it is after playing this one that I started to really grasp the meaning of the all these shadowy figures(thanks to the double-screen setup and monologue, they help you better understand the character)… I found them creepy and scary but now I also see them with sympathy and I feel for them. And with this review I just want to thank the Rusty Lake Team for developing such an amazing world! Definitely will keep an eye out for new chapters ^ ^

Ignore the negative reviews. Saw a few negative reviews for this game that I think were unjustified. The story is simple, yes, but I found it refreshingly sweet compared to the darker tone of many of the other Rusty Lake games. If you like the previous games in the series, you will enjoy this one just as much if not more. The puzzles are good, and I didn't experience any that I felt were unfair. Playtime is decent depending on how familiar you are with the series and it's style of puzzles. Overall, I definitely recommend it.

Another good one. I really enjoy all of the Rusty Lake puzzle games. They always leave me wanting more. The White Door is a bit different, but it’s refreshing if you’ve played through all the cube escapes and others. The only complaint I have is that during the story telling portion of the game between “levels” or “days” the game play sort of drops off. It’s interactive but only on a basic level... I just want more puzzles! Still loved the story and premise. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

It’s a Nope from me. I have all the Rusty Lake games to date, & have replayed them all numerous times. I love the challenges, the Rusty Lake quirkiness, and the care the developers put forward in each game. I appreciate that they tried something different in The White Door, but frankly, this game was repetitive, boring, and not challenging at all. The puzzles were simplistic. I know a lot of people gave TWD high ratings, but if those familiar with the RL world were truly honest about it, they would have to admit that this was a pretty insipid installment. If you remove the Rusty Lake banner from TWD and rate it objectively, even die-hard fans would have to say this game has little going for it. The developers’ effort is appreciated, but The White Door was a real disappointment for me.

Amazing, their best yet!. After weeks of waiting for the day that it finally came out, I was excited to download it. I love this series, so a new game was very exciting for me. As I played through, the story, music, graphics; all of it was breath taking! The way this story is presented is one of a kind. It’s so unique and special. After I had finished, I had to just applaud to myself. An absolutely phenomenal game, the hours, months, time and energy that went into this clearly show with outstanding results! I cannot express how amazing this really is. It left me with a pleasant feeling and really touched my heart. What an amazing game to start of 2020 with. Amazing job fellas! If your thinking of buying this game, it’s definitely worth it.

a beautiful game. Even though the style of the game slightly differs from the ones previous, I enjoyed it very much. I struggle with mental illness and always seek out games and any type of media that kindles empathy and allows a person to establish an emotional connection with a character or story. I had no clue what the story of this game entailed so when I started playing it that night it was released, I was immediately hooked and finished it that night. With every game you release, it seems as if we’re just getting bits and pieces of a puzzle that provides us with more and more clarity to the concept of what this whole story is about. I love it. It must take a lot of time and hard work to create something as special as this. So I wanted to express my appreciation for all you have done and thank you for being able to feel understood. Thank you thank you thank you.

Not challenging at all. If you’re looking for a challenging Rusty Lake game, this isn’t it. This “game” is more of a story book where half of the time, you are the story helper, moving the plot along by mimicking what the narrative tells you to manipulate and touch. The other half is a daily routine that repeats over several days with subtle changes for each day in the routine but still becomes repetitive. There are only a few puzzles, of which none are hard to solve. Since you can just sort of breeze along, the game goes by quickly. Under an hour. I was looking forward to this for a long time, sorry to say it was a little disappointing.

Aww, I’m disappointed. I am not a gamer by any stretch. But I do like escape room games and I stumbled upon Rusty Lake a while ago and got sucked in completely. RL games were the first I ever paid for! I was obsessed! I even followed them on Twitter because I was fiending for a new game (if you knew me, this is quite insane of me to do). Anyway, I even marked my calendar for the release date of White Door and pre-ordered. To say the least...I’m pretty disappointed. It was too short and waayyyyyy too easy. All the puzzles were basically based off of typical online IQ tests. And also, the story didn’t make a ton of sense at all. Could have used a lot more development especially since it wasn’t graphics heavy. Maybe RL is really just one guy in a house and not a team of people? Anyway, I will still get the next one.

Finally an exceptional masterpiece!!. I want to thank you 🙏🏼 for my first game I have finished and my first review. I have tried many other apps and games but I usually get bored or a massive headaches trying to solve puzzles ,or better yet just looking for something that I will actually enjoy and want more. First off I have been diagnosed with dyslexia and because of the hard work that was put into this story book with pictures I was able to enjoy and finish this. I also want to thank you for the style of art and puzzle into a storybook I used to do when I was younger. This is a masterpiece and touching story that actually had been a part of my life. I can relate to the character in so many ways I became nostalgic and it really helped me look through the eyes of another’s life experience. I became so immersed in the story and never put it down until I was finished. I really really hope that I will see more games in this style, not everyone likes the style but it blew the lid off of my head. Thank you 🙏🏼.

My Second Rusty Lake Game. I never write reviews for apps but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed two of Rusty Lakes games thus far. So, I really wanted to share my thoughts. I played Samsara Room for a few days and finished it and then started White Door last night. I’ve finished this afternoon. I feel as if there should be more to White Doors story from where it left off but overall, I really enjoyed the play through. I love the cognitive thinking and investigating outside of what’s the obvious. This is what has me so addicted to Rusty Lakes series of games. I did have to pay $2.99 for White Door and I’m disappointed that it only took me half a day to finish it. I feel like for basically $3 - it should be a longer play through. I suppose it just depends on each person how long their play through is with whatever they may or may not have their time dedicated to. But back to White Door, I love the story line and how it really portrays a battle of the mind. I feel that White Door was a little easier than Samsara - maybe because I know what to “look” for vs having to learn Rusty Lakes different methods of decoding and problem solving. I am taking a star off for having to pay for this app and it not taking even a day to finish. But other than that, this was a great cognitive game!

AMAZING YET TOUCHING. I’ve been playing the rusty lake series ever since I found them every puzzle is a new odd twist and is often very well thought out. This game in particular was quite touching and had a great story line but was kind of depressing to be honest. So many crazy emotions and crazy ideas harmonized to create this game I can’t even begin to think of how long this took to make. Thank you developers at rusty lake for this awesome game and amazing introduction to the games you create. Lastly I hope to see more games come out as I’ve finished almost if not every game by this group of developers and I'm looking for more so I’d love to try and play some new ones when they release. Hope this helped some people and once again thank you rusty lake for this thrilling creepy fun game.

Good, Short. I liked the game. Played it straight through in one sitting. So not a very lengthy endeavor, but a good journey nonetheless. More levels would be better for the $$. One thing, if you do want to pause or leave & return to the game, there isn’t an obvious way to do that. Swiping up to get to the home screen is about it. And that maneuver is sort of annoying to execute with a cased phone – the case makes an edge swipe difficult. Game is always in landscape so the swipe must come from the long side, normal bottom swipe (where case cutout is) won’t work.

The worst rusty lake, not worth the anticipation.. Seriously? THIS is what took forever to be released? This is in my opinion by far the worst rusty lake. It was way, way, too easy to beat. I beat the entire game in an hour and 15 minutes. There was no challenge to it whatsoever. The other rusty lake games at least require you to think to beat the puzzles. If you are a true rusty lake fan you’ll play it because you have to see what it is all about (like me). Otherwise save your time and money. I can’t believe this is what the hype was about, a delayed release date and all that waiting for an hour and 15 minute game. Games like hotel and seasons took far longer to play through. I really hope the next rusty lake game is better.

A different but amazing Rusty Lake experience. I've been playing Rusty Lake games for years. Case 23, Seasons and Hotel are my favorites. Now the White Door has joined my favorites list~ The White Door's gameplay design is a bit different from previous RL games because I need to follow a strict daily routine. However, I can clearly feel the RL vibe when I play the white door. My understanding of the Rusty Lake is that it is a place where people come for their desire, past, and lost love. The White Door shows the other side of the story. It shows how ordinary people's life got affected by the lake. As I lived Bob Hill's life in the White Door, I can feel the deep sorrow within him, and I feel bad for him. The Sarah Ending is so beautiful and sad. "The empty bench" is such a powerful hit. I cried when I saw that. Looking forward to more Rusty Lake games in the future. You guys are amazing!

Finally!!! ♥️♥️♥️. I’ve been playing Rusty Lake/Cube Escape for a long time and when I found out this game was going to launch, I immediately preordered it. It is nothing sort of amazing!! I think this is one of the most emotional of the games in the series 😭 Everything surrounding Laura is just so sad and the ending was bittersweet. I’m just so glad to get more information! This gameplay is a lot different from past games and I loved it. The double screen was trippy and really did help get into the character and story. The soundtrack, as always, was fantastic as well and pulled me right in. I will probably play this game countless more times as I do with all the others. Thank you for making such meaningful and beautiful games and I can’t wait to see what comes next! ♥️

A great accomplishment. If you’ve played all of the cube escape and other Rusty Lake games it may help you appreciate this one much more. I’ve always enjoyed the puzzles, and been grossed out by some of the imagery but what keeps me coming back to replay the games is the story. This game focused much more on the story than previous games while keeping the traditional Rusty Lake feeling of the answer being just out of frame (or hidden in the next cabinet). I enjoyed this game very much, it was a moving experience. I’m looking forward to trying to find all the stars on my next play through. I hope to find out even more of Laura’s story in future games.

A haunting yet unfinished story. This was my first play through of any Rusty Lake game and after this decent experience I’ll still go back and play some others. I like the setup and the game play, I was instantly pulled in and wanted to know why this man was in this situation. The puzzles are easy at first and I like how they get gradually more challenging as you progress through the game. There were certain points where I just needed an online guide towards the end, it got extremely difficult. Some of the puzzles were tedious. I loved the dream sequences and the sleepy and detached narration. Fits the game well. I was very perplexed by the ending but I did a little digging around and came to understand that I am not getting the full story by not playing the other games. I didn’t know that and I wish I did. So even when you play the hidden level, Sarah, it still feels unfinished. That was a major letdown for me and took away from the experience. But the music and atmosphere and most of the gameplay were great. The music is chilling and probably the best part of the game.

Unfortunate Intro to RL. Never played a RL game before, and unfortunately this one isn’t doing it for me. It’s never all that creepy or weird, and the game is mostly just following simple instructions. I don’t have an issue with it being short, I just expected more to happen in that short time. It didn’t help that it also feels like a mediocre flash game. Controlling the game with touch feels pretty awkward a lot of the time, the voice acting is ok at best and is often cutting or talking over itself. There are very short music and sound effect loops that sound awful, like they were recorded 10 years ago. Fans of RL might get more out of it (though as far as I can tell this game stands alone), but I wouldn’t recommend it to newcomers.

Awesome Game! Rusty Lake has ALL winners!. I don't know if one should call these series -games? All of the Rusty Lake series are what I would call mysteries. They are somewhat “dark”, but extremely challenging! I wonder if the designers are actually psychoanalysts or similar...? I think the games could be actually used to see if therapeutic measures are needed for the gamer(chuckle). The games are wonderfully rewarding for hours of play and have good solid structure throughout. The games’ designs are a bit twisted, but lend themselves to a unique genre and style that can only belong to “Rusty Lake”. WONDERFULY created and crafted! Keep up the good work! Thank you for long play and great endings with great storylines!

What a great addition. Rusty lake has always had a soft part in my heart every since I found it and this addition genuinely made me cry at how great the story is and finally getting the true story behind Robert hill which we’ve seen throughout the other games along with the mysterious women that started it all. I love the mechanics even though they aren’t really in tune with rusty lake. The art design was beautiful and the new animations for the corrupted soul were amazing. I absolutely love this game

Wow. I’ve played the entire cube escape series and then this. I can’t explain how surreal this experience has been. I had tears in my eyes when I reached the end of this one… So depressing, but oddly reassuring..The ones we love and the memories we collect throughout our lives never truly leave us. It stays alive in our minds. Our souls. Our outlook on life depends on our will to find the light. The past is never dead, after all..

Short and sweet, but not as deep. I love the rusty lake series, and I have played through them all. While this one is certainly the least “oh dear heavens what’s outside my window?!” and world-bending (while staying in the universe) of the series, it was very enjoyable. The story is esoteric and abstract, and classically somewhat convoluted. Beautiful music, and simple scenes to generate though. Much like GRIS. However, I love puzzles. I love Professor Layton, mist, all those where you’re hunting and clicking etc. that being said, I paid money for this game, and it was by far the easiest of the series. Not all secrets have been uncovered (so I guess those are stupid hard to even notice let alone solve), but considering I didn’t pay for the other rusty lakes I was left feeling a little...idk. Like it wasn’t worth the money? I happily paid money, I just didn’t expect to be done after 2 hours with the fun puzzles at the very end and that extra thing that happens if you’re clever.

Never ceases to amaze!!. My wife and I got into Rusty Lake about a year ago and we became obsessed. The style and the gameplay is unique and completely original. Nothing like it. It’s super weird, eerie, and trippy as all hell. And the White Door does not disappoint. It’s a different gameplay in that it’s not as much of the escape aspect and there’s no collecting items like on previous games. However, it’s equally as enjoyable. I love the characters and the story gives you a deeper understanding, if that’s possible, to the complexity of this universe. Well done!

An amazing evolution of a great narrative. This is not the run of the mill rusty lake puzzle game. This is more, much more! There is a fantastic line that they draw between real and surreal in the world they have been slowly creating for years now. One that deals with honest issues of mental health and one of the quirky notions of their anthropomorphic keepers of memory purgatory. There is so much lore to be explored and only so much of it can be revealed in simple room escape puzzles. This game, along with the paradox film, are amazing ways to evolve this story into bigger and better things. What started with a simple puzzle-box concept has turned into a storyline that I am always excited to learn more about, no matter how disjointed and odd it may be. It’s somehow the perfect blend of game, logic, thrill, and horror, and I would love to see it expand into all different kinds of media. This is becoming an anthology of a fantastic story that doesn’t need a tied-with-a-bow end to end narrative, nor a distinct novelization, nor a set in stone canon. This is becoming a long-form mixed media event that will become a case study that will likely be covered in undergraduate media studies 10 years from now. Bravo rusty lake. Don’t stop innovating. I’m already on edge for the next great chapter.

Good game, but getting repetitive. I like Rusty Lake games a lot, but I’m getting tired of the same exact themes in all of them. Like previous games, the premise was clever and the puzzles were just the right level of difficult, more like brain teasers that were fun but not annoying, but I’d love to see another game from these folks that doesn’t have the same type of middle aged male protagonist who may or may not have killed a woman (usually a love interest) and the same Dark Soul good/evil duality thing. They have built a fascinating world and I just wish they’d do more with it than bring us the same narrative in different dressing. I’d really like to see these developers stretch themselves and tell a different sort of story that still lives within their unique universe. Rusty Lake: Roots and Rusty Lake: Paradise took a few more risks and branched our a bit more, I felt.

Not worth the 3 dollars. I have played all of the other rusty lake games and was expecting the same level of thoughtfulness and complexity for this long-awaited game. Unfortunately, the game was too short in my opinion and lacked diversity in the tasks throughout. It also seemed like some of the interactions were there just for the sake of it, like dragging an object across the screen, or moving something back and forth which was confusing and unrewarding which became tedious quite fast. Overall, it’s not worth the 3 dollars. I have not lost hope in you rusty lake. I look forward to what you have to bring in the future!

Nobody does it like Rusty Lake.. Found Rusty Lake a couple years ago, and I’ve played the entire series multiple times through, completely fell in love with it. Been following the production of this game on Twitter, and it was well worth the wait. SUCH a great addition to the series. Storywise, the edge away from the tense, convoluted, mysterious rituals of the Vandermeers and the Vanderbooms and all of that does it a world of good - it strikes a softer tone, while still feeling like a Rusty Lake game, and part of the world. Mechanically, it’s significantly less complex than the other games (although I haven’t gone looking for the secrets yet so I might need to scribble symbols in a notebook yet) but all of the mechanics - new and old - are incredibly smooth, and feel satisfying. Things that were jerky but manageable in previous games, like the sliding on combination locks, feel so much better. Victor Butzelaar composed a lovely soundtrack, as usual. I have a soft spot for the sheer creepiness of the other main games, but I enjoyed this thoroughly, and I hope the team are happy with their work.

Achievements Should Have Been Part of the Game. I thought the game was brilliant, but I completed it in just a few hours. Then I found out there was an alternative ending, also a basement, which I had no idea how to access, things you could do by choosing “maybe” instead of “yes” or “no” that would put you on the road to the achievements. For someone like me that is not that game savvy, I finally gave up seeking how to get those achievements. I would suggest to the developers to rather than having achievements, to use those achievement storylines and incorporate them into the game itself! That would make this very short game longer, and make for a beefier game for people, like me, who don’t know how to access those achievements.

Play Better !. To everyone saying this RL game was short, that means you weren’t paying close enough attention to the intricacies that existed! From switching between YT and Insta and completing hacks, besides the basic storyline, this game took me 3 extra hours to complete because I didn’t want to miss any hidden details! If you have any complaints about how short everything felt, my best suggestion would be to go back and make an effort in searching for hidden achievements/levels

Stunning. I don’t normally write reviews but this game warranted it. I’ve been playing since just after Roots came out, and I’ve loved every single game. This is another stunning, simple entrant into the universe that had me a bit on edge but fulfilled at the end. It’s not as hard as the other games might be, a simple routine keeps you going and while I always expected something to go wrong, the game lead me to the right place. What a great back story for Laura (i see the roots reference at the end with her sketchbook!) and how great that it ties in Theater as well. Again, just a beautiful game and the wait was well worth it.

My least favorite Rusty Lake.. The only one I gave 4*, the rest got 5, I love them all. The 2d, moving - storyline mode was harder after playing all the other Rusty Lake adventures, but still a winner! Keep them coming, (I’ve played all but this one twice.) (Addition from my original review - thanks for the Dev response! After replaying all my favorites I’ve started looking for comparable puzzle games, and I just haven’t found any. It’s why I took the time to write a review for every single Rusty Lake game I’d played in one day. —My tortured soul will live in the memories of the past until a future release gives me a new escape! Thank You!)

I felt a BIG feeling finishing this story.. I’m a new father of two. My three year old daughter was diagnosed with nonverbal autism and it has been extremely challenging for my wife and I. Often to a very close to terminal mental point with me personally. I’ve been going through a host of emotions I’ve never had before and I’m not self aware enough to notice them. When the events started happening in “The White Door” chapter of this game, I completed the entire remainder of the story with my face absolutely drenched in tears. I identify with the main character in a massive way, but for a different reason and the ending was absolutely perfect for me. I get it. Rusty Lake is the GOAT for this one. (Gotta get my composure back)

Meh. If I hadn’t already played and been obsessed with the other Rusty Lake games which I consider the best games ever created, I might have given this another star but... this is just not on the same level as the others. Story line is boring; there’s none of the same amazing weirdness as the other games. It’s also much simpler: I finished in about 2 hours quite easily, whereas the other games I could spend a cumulative total game play of days, and I could still go back and replay them, find them difficult, and discover new things. It’s also buggy-I’ve had to close out of the game a few times because it froze. I’ve never had that problem with any other Rusty Lake game. Please bring back the original style and soon (it’s disappointing to wait so long for a new game that doesn’t deliver). I love Rusty Lake, but I just don’t love this game.

Rusty Lake is Brilliant!. I have played every single Rusty Lake game they’ve ever made (several times for each one). I played and watched Paradox. And I am thrilled with The White Door! The game play is super different but it is exciting and very well made just like all Rusty Lake stuff always is. I hope to see a lot more of these in the future. They’ve got some super creative, brilliant minds on the Rusty Lake team and I fell in love with the art style, music scores, voices of the actors, gameplay and storyline from the very first Cube Escape I’ve ever played. I’m hooked for life. Please don’t stop doing what you guys are doing! Ever!

Short but Sweet. Love the Rusty Lake universe. Such a deep, unique storyline and fantastic games too. I did really like this new one. Was counting the days until it’s release like waiting for a new album. The new style of UI and gameplay was different and fun. I don’t know if I finished it so quickly because of all my intense training through all the other Rusty Lake games or that it was just too easy? Maybe it was meant to be more in line with their shorter games or maybe they’re testing out this new interface to see how us fans like it before putting out something bigger in the same style. Regardless, it was very enjoyable and I can’t wait for what they have in store next...

best game i ever played. wow. i just finished this game and i’m...kinda sad. i have never been sad to finish a game. i wish there was a part two!! this was the best game i have ever played. it is so entertaining, and i never got sick of it. it is SO worth the money. Rusty Lake makes the best games in the WORLD. i have never left a review on a game, but i had to for the white door. it is so well developed and the story it tells is outstanding. the way it connects to all the other escape cube games seems almost too perfect. i would rate it a 10 out of 5 stars if i could!

Beautifully Made Masterpiece. I normally don’t write review but for this new release I just had to. The White Door is, without a doubt, one of Rusty Lake’s best games yet - a refreshing yet in line change from the previous Cube Escape games, the puzzles and storyline are well thought through and make the game even more in depth than any of the other Cube Escapes. I will say that the puzzles within this game are much much easier to solve than within their previous games like The Lake or The Cave. Overall, I’m really happy that they’ve came up with this new style, and think that it’s worth playing and trying to find all of the hidden endings for!

Loved it! Wish there was more. I love the Rusty lake series. They are creepy, challenging, and everything I could ask for in a game! But I was waiting months for this game to game to come out, and the fact that I finished it within two hours made me sad :( Definitely wish there would’ve been more levels, and it wasn’t as interactive to me as the other games were. The puzzles were easy, and the creepiness factor wasn’t all there. Paying $2.99 for seven levels that went by awfully quick is kinda upsetting as well.

The White Door. I liked the game and don’t regret spending a few bucks to play it. Having said that, it wasn’t my favorite. It is simple and straight forward and the puzzles are fairly easy, save a few moments that you may get stumped for a bit. I did not have to use any hints. Keep trying different things and eventually you should be able to figure it out. I wouldn’t say I was disappointed by its shortness and lack of scenery but I was not as addicted to the play style as I am with Roots and my other all time favorites. This game is still better than most of the other fare offered in Apple Games. Try it for yourself.

Loved it!. Another wonderfully creepy game from Rusty Lake, with a unique split-screen interface, no inventory to keep track of, and plenty of puzzles, secrets, and in-jokes to find. Most of the puzzles are pretty simple, and the main game can be finished in one sitting - but the hidden content, alternate endings, fascinating storyline, and innovative gameplay more than make up for how quickly you'll devour this thing. I actually bought the Steam version as well, just so I could appreciate it on a larger screen! Loved the callbacks to previous games ("You know what to do" made me particularly happy), and the puzzles, while not difficult, are still enjoyable. I was thoroughly entertained, and I can hardly wait for the next release!!! Well worth the three bucks - give it a shot!

Too high a bar to clear. I’m compelled to write because this game series is among the best I’ve ever played. Engaging, atmospheric, and challenging. I pre ordered this and could not wait to be out to the test again. But these barely qualify as puzzles. A lot of guess and check. A lot of being literally told what to do. Very surprising considering the ingenuity and challenge all the rusty lake games leading up to this have brought. I understand they are trying something different, and I do like the new interface, and appreciate the narrative as always. I wish they keep trying new things too! But this was a miss. The structure of staying in the room could have been better but was far too repetitive to be interesting. I beat the game, and now can play as the nurse, but I don’t really want to continue if I have to interact with these same 10 spots I love you rusty lake! Keep doing fun things like this. The game is beautiful and interesting. It strayed too far from what makes you special though.

Ethereal, mesmerizing, mundane. I believe this series of games, which I’ve had the greatest pleasure of playing, was created for me. The coincidental times I’ve chosen to play one of any of these games, it has paralleled an event in my life. Either painful or present and real, the creator(s) is certainly channeling something greater than they. Everything about the games, consumes me. Wonderful and poetic and raw. Thank you for allowing this space to give my opinions and gratitude from a very profound place.

Creative and unique. I’m a huge Rusty Lake fan and have played all of their games at least twice. I enjoyed this game and appreciate their desire to create something different. It’s very creative and unique, with a great story. I’ve never seen a game quite like this. That being said, I didn’t like it quite as much as the other games. There is a lot of repetition, it was a little too easy, and it seemed shorter than their other premium games. But most of all, I missed the morbid and grotesque shock value that I’ve come to expect from RL. It’s definitely worth purchasing and I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next game. Hopefully it won’t take quite as long as this one did, because I can’t get enough Rusty Lake!

Gameplay is a bit off. I love Rusty Lake and have played every game and can’t get enough but this is a bit different. I like the split screen style play. But there is a backstory of course and having to complete actions to move the story along got tedious very quickly. When the story reads “I took another bite of donut” you have to make the character actually bite his donut before the story will move on. Pair it with these actions being so *sensitive* and I found myself trying to make the character bite the donut ten times before eventual success. Having to do all the tedious little actions just to get four lines of a story made it a chore to play and I lost interest.

I wanted to love this. This game had all the makings of a game I would typically love - quirky animation, nostalgic 70’s era, puzzles...I wanted to love this game. But I didn’t. Instead, I found myself increasingly frustrated and not enjoying the game at all. The storytelling is very very slow. The narration is almost deadpan and the actors for some reason have chosen to use American accents when they clearly aren’t American. The fact it takes place in the 70s makes zero difference to the story. Robert and his love are boring. We dont know why they have come together and we dont know why she has left. I didnt care at all about either of these characters. The puzzles themselves were often infuriating. Many of them are vague, follow no particular logic except trial and error and can be extremely specific (aligning two hands perfectly, coloring something in just right). This doesn’t challenge me as a puzzle game if I need to align random things just right. There’s no hints, no guidance. You’re forced to go online and it ruins the game because you end up always seeing way too much of the level just for one little puzzle. I wanted to enjoy this. I really did.

Excellent puzzle game!. A wonderful addition to the Rusty Lake series of games! I luved getting this look into Robert’s character. Although the gameplay is different from the Cube Escape games, the storytelling style and eerie atmosphere are on point for the series. Although complete knowledge of the series isn’t required to jump right into this game, I think it will enhance your enjoyment to play Cube Escape and get familiar with the characters - especially Case 23 and Theatre, which are the most relevant to the story of this game.

Wow. This game really blew my mind. In a good way of course

As always….amazing. Rusty lakes games are always incredible and this is no exception. You can really tell how much effort and time they have put into each and every game!!!!

So disappointed. I am a huge fan of the rusty lakes games and like everyone, I couldn’t wait to play this game. I was so looking forward to exploring a new style of game by the rusty lake crew. But I have to say this game was absolutely terrible. Hardly any gameplay and what was there felt like a pre school pop up book. I am so very disappointed guys. What happened ???

Just beautiful. I absolutely adore the Rusty Lake Series they are imaginative, clever and very well thought through. I look forward to playing each game and this was no exception! Excellent storyline and had me enthralled from start to finish! Can’t wait for more releases! Great job team ✨

Loved it. Please make more. Love all your games.

Very Cleaver! Loved it! 👍👍. If your someone who enjoys using your brain, then this is for you. Great game, enjoyable story, the puzzles were quite fun, akin to taking an IQ test but much more pleasant! The story was deep and dark at times in an interesting psychological way. I Definitely recommend this game!

Amazing collection!. Have to say that rusty lake games are some of the best games I’ve ever played. Including all platforms and consoles. I highly recommend to play them in order (see rusty lake Instagram for proper order). This was the cherry on top of a great collection. The only downside is that I’ve finished them all 👎👎👎

Poor script. Rusty Lake, c’mon, seriously? The dialogues are like preschool level. As an old fan of the series I AM CONFUSED.

The saddest dam game in the world. Love it. I never cry but this made me tear up keep up the good work!

Yikes. I am a die hard fan of Rusty Lake so I was excited for this one, but it was such a miss. I kept waiting for it to get interesting, but it was annoying to play and the puzzles were just too simple and kind of pointless. Not sure what happened here, but it definitely wasn’t worth the money.

To fast. This game was fun but to fast. I played it in a few hours

Mindblowing. I was surprised at how it wasn’t as creepy as the other games but the fresh plot and structure was very enjoyable. I was touched at the end. Really well done, thank you

Different format. The new format changed it slightly from previous games- some may say it was simpler, but I found it creative and refreshing. I love the rusty lake games, this one was no exception!

Short game for price. This was my least favourite rusty lake game. For the price, it was a short game, so not value for money. I enjoyed paradise far better.

Brilliant. The only problem with this game is it took me too short a time to finish it. These guys make the best puzzle games, although they are much more than that. Simply brilliant.

Love it. I absolutely love the Rusty Lake games. This one is awesome as well. I hope you guys already started on the next game. I can’t wait :)

Average. I wouldn’t pay for this one, the free ones are better than this

Emotional & Deep. I am blown away by the way the plot connects to a lot of other games in the series and mostly Cube Escape: Theatre; as well as how it digs deep into the mind of Robert Hill. The new mechanic is really interesting and brings new things to the series. Never fail to amaze me!

Good fun but a bit short. Always good fun to play a Rusty Lake game - this one was interesting with a creepy edge as usual. A bit short as I finished it in a day or so, shame however I’d still say it was decent enough.

Enchanting. An enchanting storyline along with engaging puzzles.

Stunning. Rusty Lake can’t put a foot wrong, in my opinion. And I will continue to support them no matter what. So when I saw they had released another game with a price tag just shy of $4:50 I paid without question. At first I was a little disappointed to see that the usual style of game play had changed but the storyline was just so beautiful it somehow made sense to keep the graphics simple. The only drawback was the short amount of time it took to complete. I don’t mind paying for your games, Rusty Lake, but please keep the cost proportionate to the length of play. Keep up the exceptional work

Different. More mainstream than their other titles. Puzzles quite easy but still satisfying. Very enjoyable thank you hope more are on the way as I’ve finished all your current apps.

Very enjoyable. Not as gruesome as most of the other games and it was pleasantly enjoyable to play. The game didn’t take very long to get through, and the puzzles were good and found them fairly easy and didn’t get stuck too much. Looking forward to the next one :) Thank you.

Brilliant. Thank you for an other great game. As an other reviewer said I go to my happy place when stepping into the world of Rusty Lake. This game has a different game play but remains mysterious and deliciously dark in pure RL style. Love your work guys xxxxx

Loved it. Loved every minute of it

Boring. Boring game, doesn’t make much sense and finished very quickly. Waste of money and time

Poetic. Just stunning. Cried at the end

my review 🤷‍♀️. i think it’s a really great game. very well made, the puzzles were hard but enjoyable. short, but sweet. ✨

Very enjoyable journey. Love all the rusty lake games. Well done, another great game!

Pleasure for corrupted minds.... The Cube Escape and the Rusty Lake series are phenomenal. Intense and creepy storyline, animated to perfection and have put so much thought and effort into all of their games. The White Door was definitely different but no matter how different and unique the game play is, it make sense and keeps up (too well) with the storyline. All I can say is, Rusty Lake/Secondmaze, you have nailed it. Looking forward to more corrupted games in 2020. Also, the Paradox poster I purchased creeped out the entire family... many more to come...

It was OK. Not as good as the previous games. Very simple. Disappointed 😞 doesn’t worth the money

Amazing. Finished the main part of the game now I’m doing achievements. Those are challenging. Love the game!

Have you finished all the cube games?. This is an amazing game - if you have played all the games in order & have followed the story line, this is the best game to play to wrap it all up! I can’t stress enough how close I was to not playing this game because of the negative reviews - but I 120% don’t regret it. Especially since I found the alternative ending... 😉 PLAY THIS GAME!!

Okay. I love this series, but this game was a disappointment :( waited so long for such a short game, and it wasn’t like the other styles, as another reviewer said it’s a lot of pointless movements. The storyline was good, I liked where it was going! Just wish their was more to it, I found this easier then any other game

Sensational. As all rusty lake games excellent game play experience with intuitive instructional design and just right amount of suspense to keep one going. New mechanics are very fun and perspectives pretty meta at times, tons of delightful rustylake references, well worth the wait, kudos to the whole team!

Meh. I played all other Rusty Lake games 20+ times each but will probably never replay this one. Original, but very boring to repeat same actions or to simply do as the narator is asking us to do. Still, nice references to other games, but overall boring (it hurts me to write this).

Amazing. Surprising story as always.

Disappointing. I’m only writing this as a super fan of everything rusty lake and cube escape. Waited so long and pre-paid for this release but didn’t even bother finishing it. Just not enjoyable. I appreciate that this took a lot of work to make and really tried to like it. Please go back to making interesting puzzle stories that are difficult to solve. Still looking forward to the next game.

Beautiful. Great game as always from Rusty Lake

Great but.... Could have taken another week... The pleasure is too short !

Great game, as usual. I love all the rusty late games. So amazing and innovative. This one is really good. It's shorter than I wanted it to be but it's awesome. I like hotel the best I think.

Great story driven game. Not like the other cube escape games. Cool story, but the game doesn’t require much thinking, or problem solving. Just be prepared for a different type of game.

I Like Rusty Lake Games. Not as long as it could have been but quite enjoyable. Even if it’s not you favourite Rusty Lake game it’s still a must play for hard core RL fans.

BEST GAME EVER. I totally recommend getting this if you are into puzzles this game is so cool and it really gets you thinking. I love it so much totally recommend buying it. It’s worth your money and time. It’s the best game in the world that I’ve ever played. Get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get.

Not worth it. It’s so so easy. So fast. Not interesting. Definitely not worth paying for.

Intriguing and Beautiful Game. A great addition to the Rusty Lake franchise. This game was so engrossing that I overshot my subway ride by two stops!

Always Great!. I always look forward to a new Rusty Lake creation, and this one doesn’t disappoint; totally awesome!

Meh. Wasn’t hard enough!!!!! I love all their other games though

Well done. Yes, the puzzles are a little easier than the usual Cube Escape and Rusty Lake games but, for me, it was refreshing to solve puzzles without hints from a walk through. It fills in Robert Hill’s backstory. At the same time it’s a sardonic and compassionate look at trauma related mental health.

Just a story that you click to move through - repetitive. I have loved all the Rusty Lake games. Normally the games are fun and challenging, but not this one. It is more like a story that you move through, rather than a challenging game. There are a few games within, but not like in previous Rusty Lake games. I would skip this one.

Great but can do it better. As usual the rusty lake games are always great and weird, but the white doors puzzles are kinda of easy? Of course the role is impossible good! Love it!!

weird and fun. sorta feels like you’re going crazy yourself when you play it. did I ‘win’ the game? CAN you win it?

Utter awe. The game is just beautiful the end had me in tears.

Great game! But.... Hi there! What a great game! Just two things, though. First, it was too short. I wish that it had been longer, since all of the games you make are awesome, and the puzzles are amazing. Second, there was a spelling error. It said: “And it spinned” when it was supposed to say “And it spun”. Still, great game, and keep up the great work!

A little disappointing. I thoroughly enjoyed the new drag feature and moving the character along with the story. However, I agree with the other players that there wasn’t enough variety in the puzzles and the game was very short and very easy compared to all the other rusty lake games. I would consider this a beginners puzzle. Hoping the next release will be a bit more challenging, have a wider variety of puzzles and take longer than a few hours to complete.

Good but short. I always love Rusty Lake games. This is good, but there’s a lot of needless movements you need to do. What’s the point? Just animate it like before. It’s short and not very exciting. I prefer the previous style of game.

It’s okay. I love the game, the plot, the answers to the rusty lake story line, but it felt really short for what I paid.

Different but Creepy in a Great Way. Liked the different moving and story line..but was a bit short. Loved the tests..not too hard

Okay. Not as good as previous games. It was pretty short and not very challenging. It was still fun enough to play, but after waiting for so long it was a letdown.

LOVE IT!!!!!!. Rusty Lake has always been my favourite developer. I’ve been waiting for so long to play this game and it was definitely worth the wait! This is a great game although I will recommend playing all the games by rusty lake before playing this one (it will make more sense, trust me). I just love the game so much. Definitely recommend it!

5 stars!. I enjoyed it a lot! It explains lots of things that happened throught all the games!

Magical like the others in the Rusty Lake series!. If you like the other games in the Rusty Lake series, don’t let the negative reviews put you off. Yes, this is not a game with a tremendous amount of action, but it is suspenseful and full of imagination! If you are a fan of puzzle games with a nice atmosphere and story, this a great choice.

Haunting, challenging, worth every moment. I love this and all of the Rusty Lake games. Totally draws you in. Puzzles challenging but solvable. Every moment is captivating. Wish it would not end - keep on creating Rusty Lake.

Fun. Nice little game! Enjoyed it!

Encore. Never tired of Rusty Lake games. This one was great, but a little bit too easy. But I like the story.

Nice game!. Although it is shorter and maybe easier than the other Rusty Lake game, I thought this game was original and helped in the understanding of Rusty Lake’s lore with a well written story. Overall it’s a nice and easy game that is enjoyable.

Waaay to easy. I do love Rusty Lake game. I really do. I’ve played all of them. But this one was somehow disappointing. Everything was too obvious. Too easy. Too “in your face”. You mainly have to follow what the characters say. I asked my 8 year old daughter to play the first few levels. She found it easy as well. She’s a kid. With time, I expect Rusty Lake games to become more complicated, harder to finish. I don’t know why you guys went this way, but think again. My 5 cents.

review. wonderful game!

Preordered!!. I am already done the game aha, I love the puzzles and the storyline, not the longest game but it is still entertaining! Looking forward to the next

Big let down. I love your games im always excited each time theres a new release but this one was a big let down. Too short too repetitive no challenge and way less spooky then your past games i so hope the next one is gonna be a lot better.

Always a Treat. I look forward to playing the Rusty Lake series... I've played them all and absolutely LOVE the strangeness and creativity of them. Please, KEEP THEM COMING!!

Not worth it. This game is far less comprehensive than previous Rusty Lake games. Super short, not challenging, and repetitive in its challenges. I wouldn’t waste your money. I was really looking forward to playing this game but was left unfortunately quite disappointed. Stick to the older games.

Beautiful. I understand the other reviews in being short, but I really think this game adds a lot of beautiful context to the Rusty Lake world, and has a very positive and powerful message...perhaps less satisfying for hardcore puzzles but those for the rich interactive narrative and larger story should not miss out

Lové this game. I lové all of the cube and rusty lake games. I lové how they all reference each other. This game is vey beautiful!! Poetic!

pretty great game. as a long time supporter of rusty lake cube escape games, gotta say this one was pretty fun and interesting. i do agree with some of the reviews saying the game could have been a little more complex, the puzzles were a lot easier then in past games. although, the overall storyline of the game was really interesting which makes it worth playing

Good game but too short. I love all the Rusty Lake games and this was fun too. But it was too short for the $4 price.

Fun but short. Loved this game. Rusty Lake always does an incredible job. It was pretty short though.

Disappointed. I have played all their games and this one really let me down. The concept of this one is brand new and you have never seen it before. However, the puzzles in the game are too easy compared to their old games, and also the ways of solving them are the same/similar. I would say it’s a baby level puzzle. The game is ducking short too!!! I have been waiting for Rusty Lake’s new release for a long time and I guess that’s the reason I’m so disappointed as well. This game is not for their faithful followers. Please keep doing your fantastic job like before. We really want new games and new puzzles. Please.

Disappointing. I have to agree with the other reviewers that this was a serious disappointment. Not at all on par with the other Rusty Lake games. Not one of the puzzles presented any kind of challenge. I believe there are some additional achievements, but I have no desire to go back through the motions for them. Hopefully the next game will be more in line with the original concepts

A different rusty lake. Storywise this one is very different from the previous ones, while all the previous ones gives me chill from behind, this one is very touching. I cried a little when I get to the very end. Spoilers alert: I wish there can be a connection to Dan, and maybe explain a lil more on why the book in the room is titled Robert Hill: False Accusation.

A pleasure to watch and play. I’ve been playing RL games for some time. They are beautifully done and fun to play. The puzzles are challenging at times and that’s the best part. I wouldn’t enjoy the games as much if the puzzles were too easy. They’re not frustrating either because they always make sense. They keep me thinking. The quirky stories are a big part of the charm. Please keep them coming!

Fantastic!. I’ve been a long-time fan of the Rusty Lake series, and had been eagerly awaiting the release of this game! It’s met and exceeded my expectations with its familiar faces, stories and art style, but with a slightly different gameplay that kept things interesting and piqued new interest. The series and lore in general is amazing and I highly recommend all the games, free and premium, for anyone that enjoys puzzle and point-and-click games! Please play!!

Worth the wait!. I have now played the game through twice and it still tears at your heartstrings. Taking elements from previous games and giving a fresh take on interactive storytelling. I was engaged from start to finish and am still earning secret stars as we speak. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested and hope we get more of these amazing games soon! bravo!!

The best!!!. Rusty Lake are hands down the best phone games I’ve ever come across. Excellent storyline that spans over the entire collection. Brain bending puzzles that are hard but not impossible. Consistent new content at a price well under what they’re worth. I’ve played through them all a few times and I just love them. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Your classic Rusty Lake. Really enjoyed the game! The puzzles are generally pretty straight-forward, but they do require a moment of thought sometimes, which adds to the fun. The game overall has the iconic Rusty Lake atmosphere. Visuals were very nice, and the story was quite intriguing as well. Leaves a lot to the imagination. Wholesome ending. Definitely a worthy purchase!

Rather peaceful.. I long awaited this game. Even going so far as to replay all of the other RL games. It was well worth the wait. While this game is rather peaceful and tame by any of the RL games. It was a nice change. It’s more lore and story to the already convoluted RL game time line. The game is short and sweet. It’s a seance if nostalgia. Hinting back at one of the earlier games. No one makes a game like RL. That you for all of the fun puzzles and messed up story lines. This is truly an amazing company.

Too quick and too easy- boring. I’m an avid lover of RL.... even as far as planning a Crow tattoo. I’ve been waiting for MONTHS and I bought this game as soon as it hit the market. It’s not a game as much as it is a story. It was not really marketed as a story which is why I was greatly disappointed. As others have said, it tells you what to do. Barely any thought goes into it. Took me 30 minutes or so to beat the whole thing, compared to other RL games which can take me days. I’m very let down.

Solid yet slightly boring.. Love the Rusty Lake series. This game is no different, unique, interesting, and fun. This entry is a little too easy thought I do appreciate the attempt at a more unique experience than just an “escape room” type puzzles... ironically so. Still a very good experience and you just won’t find anything quite like this series. The White Door is still well worth it so check it out. Interesting story and replay value with achievements. A worthy expansion of the series if mildly disappointing.

Better Than Christmas. I have been waiting months for this game and it didn’t disappoint. The White Door, along with the rest of the games from Rusty Lake, revive the endless possibilities and blissfulness of childhood imagination, yet, with its puzzles and riddles, reflects the cynicism and surreal complexities of adulthood. My only criticism is that I’ve already completed it and want more. Please hurry with the next one!

A good game, but not their best. Maybe I’m spoiled from rusty lake’s earlier games, but this one just felt...not as good. It’s still a good game in its own right, it has great voice acting, a wonderful sound track, but this time around the puzzles just felt too easy, or the game wasn’t long enough, or both. Maybe I’m just getting really good at these kind of games. This one I had beaten in an evening, whereas previous games provided me with days if not weeks of entertainment.

Very shocked I played it completely through. First I only downloaded this game because I was bored and it seemed interesting. Once I started playing I could not stop myself. The graphics and audio are relaxing but grasping. I played the game straight through without stopping. The puzzles are challenging but makes you want to keep going.

Fun but disappointing. I love all the rusty lake games. This one was a bit short to be honest. I was pretty disappointed. Since it seemed like this game took a long time to make, I expected more. With that being said, I still enjoyed it for what it was. If you like their other games, you’ll like this one as well. Just know it’s very short and less challenging than it’s predecessors.

Obsessed. I have been playing this series for a few years now, and I am OBSESSED with it! Thank you thank you thank for existing! I highly recommend this game. Especially if you are looking for a unique game that is full of puzzles and bizarre vibes- I am looking forward to whatever is coming next!

What’s not to like. Fun puzzles (check), creepy storyline (check), leaves you wanting more (check). This was an awesome game. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I highly recommend it to people who like creepy puzzle games. If you liked Braid, you would probably like this game also.

I love these twisted puzzles. The White Door is definitely enjoyable. I didn’t mind the price. My only issue is that it seemed too short for a paid app. But again, I didn’t mind supporting the developer because they offer so many of these puzzlers for free. I love the wickedly theme of them all. Hurry and make another one! I’m definitely a fan. More than happy to support your work!

A different perspective.. The game should be thought of as an interactive story book and not truly an extension of RL. That will help set expectations. I didn’t love the actual mechanics but I really liked the narrative and how it fit more into RL world. They have done such a great job of creating new startling things. That said if you’ve never played RL before, or if you only like deep puzzle games this might not be for you. If you like Twin Peaks and experimentation you might love it.

Wanted to like it more. I’ve played through all of the Rusty Lake games in order and this was the final one. While ALL of their games are top notch, this was my least favorite of the bunch. The puzzles weren’t very challenging. I don’t even know if I would classify this so much as a “game” versus as an “interactive story”. Much of the time, they told you exactly what to do; “open her eyes”, “walk over here”. It could get a little slow and repetitive at points. All that being said, it was still good.

Rusty Lake does it again! Amazing!. The White Door was so amazing! Completely new and different! My favorite part was replaying the game to get the achievement stars ⭐️ I love how very interactive you have to be and pay very close attention to the little details to “activate” certain scenarios to get a nice “surprise” alongside the star 😱 I can’t wait to uncover more secrets (like the basement and The White Door website) and I can’t wait to play future games! 🥰

Obsessed with Rusty Lake, just not this. I love ALL of Rusty Lakes games. I would have no problem spending my money on any of them. This however was disappointing... it lacked almost all of their typical characteristics. I know they were trying something new... but it was kind of boring, very very plain and basic and so simple. There weren’t any challenges, it was tooooooo repetitive and the story line was also super basic. All of their other games are so complex and intense, this one really lacked all of that. The artistic element was also missing.

This Rusty Lake/Second Maze game is GREAT!!!. I think I have played almost every game by Rusty Lake and this is my first review. I loved playing all the games and I learned some things about myself (mainly that I cannot play these games at night in a dark room without scaring myself!). The amount of thought and details that went into this game are greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing what else you come up with. Thank you for your time.

Way too easy. I definitely liked the mystery part of it but most of it was just little tedious tasks. Like, why do I have to make him straighten his tie and put his drink down on the table? Also at one point all I had to do was put the right amount of money in the bartenders hand but got stuck because I couldn’t find the exact place in his hand that I needed to put it. For $3 it should be way more difficult and less tedious

Great but too short. I and my hubby always love rusty lake games and played them all. Have been waiting for this one for a long time and it is finally out. We enjoyed this game as the other Rustylake games but honestly this one was kinda too short compared to the previous ones like Hotel, Paradise, Roots, etc...

Anyone who dislike this game doesn’t know anything about art. Everything is so well put together. You’ll find out towards the end that not only is the space fractal, the time is also fractal: A loop inside a loop. Also extremely moving. If you’re only bothered by the American accent, you’re missing out waaay too much. I have an urge to write an essay on this game and hug the developers. What amazingly talented human beings. You’ve created a breathtaking piece of art

Beautiful: Another Rusty Lake Success!. Based on the marketing, I assumed “The White Door” would be vastly different from the other Rusty Lake games. I’m immensely delighted to say that it’s new AND familiar in all the best ways. This game has all the unique puzzles, all the intriguingly shadowy back story, and twice the heart. As another reviewer said, the game gently guides you on the way, making it really fun and satisfying to play. I can’t wait to dive in and try to find all the achievements! Another superb job, Rusty Lake: I’ll continue to play, buy, and recommend all your releases!

This is the refreshing taste of understanding stuff.. This game is ONLY for you as a Rusty lake fan. If you’re not into the cube universe I really doubt you will enjoy this. That being said, I’m proud of rusty lake team, you’ve managed to create a mysterious tho beautiful universe, with such an original touch and intriguing as always charm. I get the change of rythm, this is more like an interactive novel than an escape room but it is hands down the best story I’ve seen in long time, revisiting bob’s depression and being able to see Dale as a character in this story was satisfying. Congratulations rusty lake. You never cease to amuse me.

Have played/loved all /Rusty Lake Games. The games all tie together somehow. Love the style. Someone wrote this was short? Not IMO. Some puzzles were puzzling but I gor through them all. Looking forward to more of these games. They’re unique, priceless and seamless. Good job as alway. It did start a bit slow so if you think you might feel that way just wait a few minutes it will be worth it.

Amazing. I try so hard to find puzzles like the ones Rusty lake does (because I’ve played theirs too many times to count) and I just can’t. The narrative, the attention to detail, the puzzles, the tone and atmosphere - it’s all unmatched. I hope they make a million more games. I’ll buy and play them all. In short: buy this game. It’s worth the three bucks (honestly it’s worth a whole lot more)

Lame. I’ve played all the rusty lake games. Most are fun. By far, this is the lamest. The puzzles are too easy, the story makes no sense. Most annoying is the way the narration keeps nagging you to move stuff: Robert says “I moved my hand”, so you move his hand on the screen. Yeah, that was challenging and rewarding. Not. Two stars just because the rest of the games are decent. If you’ve played all the others and are desperate, lower your expectations and give it a try.

Please download this. I very rarely buy games on the App Store but I decided to try it since I've loved all their other games. This was the best decision of my life. It's difficult to put it down and I love every single second of it. It's very unique and it's nothing like I've done before. I can't wait to see more from y'all, you're fantastic!

Awesome instalment!. Another great addition to the Rusty Lake saga. It’s nice to get a teeny bit more lore. This game wasn’t as challenging nor as disturbing (though it definitely had its moments) as the other instalments, but it’s still worth the play through. My only complaint it that it’s a bit short. All in all, it’s a fantastic game and a wonderful continuation of the franchise.

Wow I have played them all. I can honestly say this game was fun interesting and I wanted more some parts I got super stuck on and made me frustrated but I am so happy I finished it I feel accomplished every time I finish a game I can’t wait for the next game and I preordered this one so now to play the waiting game lol waiting for this waiting for the TV show the Witcher and waiting for more fun like this game keep up the amazing work !

Obsessed with Rusty Lake. I discovered Rusty Lake only about half a year ago, but within a week I’ve played all their cube escape games and in a month I’ve finished their other games. I was finally able to play the White Door and the 3 dollars was so worth the game. I’m a huge Rusty Lake fan and I’m so excited for their next edition!!

Very fun, but not as great as prior Rustys. Superfan here. I check the App Store on a weekly/monthly basis for new content from developers. These guys are the best when it comes to exciting, eccentric, and addicting point and click adventure games. This game is very fun, but it is not as challenging/engaging as some of the more epic prior installments like Roots, etc. This one felt shorter and spanned fewer eras. Looking forward to new content soon!

So creepy, haunting, and a good puzzle. The story is great - weird, haunting, creepy, and somber. It reminds me of Hemingway a bit - a lot said with very little. The challenges are fun, and the mystery is interesting and well told - by far the best point and click or cube escape style games. I also like that some feature women as the protagonist, some men, all are creepy as hell lol, while still often being beautiful, touching, or haunting. Great guys!

It’s ok. I was super excited for this release. I love Rusty Lake games. They are clever, beautiful, thoughtful, and all connected through a common theme. But, White Door is not as great as Paradox, Paradise, and Roots. Those were much more involved, required more detective skills, and required the player to keep track of clues over a longer period of time. I’m kind of bummed. This was more like following step by step directions.

Time Killer, Best Game!. This game Came out for me yesterday and before it even came out, I was pre-registered, because it looked like such a good game. I bought it, played it, its the the best game ever to exist, time killer, inspiring, and a good, but weird story line. I spent about 1-2 hours completing the game (I played non-stop). I like it, few jump scares here and there but it’s all alright. I know you guys worked hard on it, and have a good rest of your day!

Great game. Just finished the whole game, tryna get all the achievements. This game is absolutely awesome! It's similar to every typical rusty lake game but it's different as well. The story is very touching, which also answers a few questions left behind by previous rusty lake series. This is actually my first time buying a rusty lake game (I played the rusty lake trilogy on my sister's phone) and it's totally worth it!!! Just wanna say thanks to the people who made this game, you guys are geniuses

Amazing game you must try!. Even though I completed this almost a year ago I’m going to write a response. This game was so enjoyable and has a great story. I really enjoyed the hidden spots of the story and thought this is a great game to play with your head. I recommend to all who want to enjoy a meaningful experience for an movie game. I appreciate the developers, peace.

Short, but good. This is one of the shorter games the developer has created, but still worth playing. Runs smoothly, with easy navigation. One of the few games I’m glad doesn’t have ads every minute, and allows the user to play at their own pace. It could be a lot longer, hopefully next time. This is one of the easier games, but still enjoyable. I can hardly wait for the next release!

Wish more games were like this. Simple. Engrossing. Entertaining. I wish developers would make more games like this one. I think there is a relatively untapped market of older individuals with the time and money to play games… but we’re not interested in cartoonish kill-‘em-all-type games. Best game I’ve played since Gorogoa, another excellent game for older folks who like puzzles.

More to the story. I love the story of Rusty Lake and I was so excited when I heard this game was coming out and it really didn’t disappoint. The puzzles are definitely a lot easier than some of the other games but the story is very satisfying to get through! It’s just eerie enough and it really hit home as someone who has been institutionalized. I feel like my review isn’t very coherent but I loved it. Rusty Lake has yet to fail me.

Just not what I expected. I was more than prepared to give THE WHITE DOOR a 5 because that is what we do because you earn it and own it. RL is exceptional in that you always deliver. This felt like the same game to the sixth and it hurts me to say this because I am so loyal to you. After pre-ordering and one extension, I am more than disappointed, I am a bit sad and angry. This may sound ridiculous and hyperbolic, but if you hadn’t created so many outstanding games to compare it to, I may have given it a 5 for good measure. Go back to the table and knock our socks off.

White Door. I love the Rusty Lake series! All of the graphics are so well done. The White Door is definitely different from the previous but the feel is still there. I love how they combine parts of old games within so you will see a few familiar faces. There are so many fun things embedded within the game too that keeps it going a little longer! Great game! I can’t wait for the next one!

Sick, twisted 🍩 and totally perfect. I loved this game, it challenged me and I surprised myself with how good I was at it. Captivating! In fact I’m playing it again just to see if there’s anything I missed. Checking out the other Rusty Lake games and I am not disappointed! I would and am recommending this to everyone I know who likes the bizarre and interesting things in life.

Good but short. I love rusty lake games and this one was just as weird and fun as the others. It is hands down the easiest and is more story based than puzzle compared to the others in the series. I think it was worth the money though I wish it was a bit longer. Looking forward for more to come!

Emotions mirrored. This game was not what I expected. I played the developers other games and expected the dark humor. As a player of point and click adventures and escape games, this one threw me for a loop in a good way. I found my emotions mirroring Robert the protagonist: confusion, boredom, frustration, submission, freedom. I highly recommend this this game for it’s storyline. The puzzles aren’t tricky and, for anyone who has struggled or suffered loss, you will be rewarded

Another great game. The effort and quality behind the entire Rusty Lake series is unparalleled and the stories are sure to stick with you. I’ve been here since the beginning and you guys quickly became my favorite developers. I’m always excited to experience and support your titles because Rusty Lake is a perfect example of why games should be considered as art.

The only game I look forward to. I love all of the RL games. They’re weird and just the right amount of difficult. I waited so long for this new chapter, White Door. I found it to be the easiest of all the RL games. So easy that once I finished I had to check that it was actually over. It felt too easy and too fast for something I’d waited so long for. That being said, I love the new direction this took but it left me wanting so much more.

Not the usual Rusty Lake - not worth the hype. I’ve played all their games and been a fan. This one is nothing like the others. There are hardly any “puzzles” because you don’t even need to think to solve them. It is more like a click thru the story type of thing, but a story we’ve already known (if you ever played their other games). So for $3, probably get yourself a cup of coffee or a donut or both like what Robert gets every morning in the facility instead. This doesn’t even come close to their free cube escape series. I’m very disappointed...
