So far I love everything about this app. I downloaded the free app and loved how effortless it was to get, what I consider, outstanding results, so I bought the yearly subscription. I keep scanning old family photos and my wife and my siblings just love the results.

Like Magic and gets better with prep. Great app. What colors it might miss — like a hand — can be adjusted by cropping or going back to the original b&w photo and adjusting contrast, exposure, brilliance, shading, black point, etc. Recolorizing the colorized photo sometimes helps with this, especially if it is a screen shot, but the quality might be ever slightly less. Just the faces, green trees and grass, and blue and grey sky effects make this a joy!

Great for art projects. I used to spend a lot of time looking for free apps that could colorize fotos but they were always chaging their terms and function. This app is worth the money since I use colorized fotos for my art projects almost daily. Works like a charm and great syncing/backup.

Very Impressed. MOST IMPRESSIVE APP THAT I’VE EVER PURCHASED FROM THE APP STORE! SO REASONABLY PRICED FOR WHAT THE APP CAN DO. If you ever wished you could add color to your vintage black and white pictures of family from the days of old, well now you can. “Holy Smokes” they come alive. I’m the administrator of a Facebook page that’s dedicated to the memories of my parents small hometown in Tennessee. Many of the town’s senior citizens have posted their very old pictures they’ve collected over the years, some pictures were taken in the 1870’s. When the Facebook posts slowed down I bought this amazing App and have colorized a few dozen of the 500 plus pictures I have collected from the members. I’ll post the pictures after they’ve been beautifully given color. The Facebook page has been very active. The posts of our members are of happiness and joy seeing their loved ones from the past in a picture that looks like it was taken during the age of color film. IT’S MAGIC! Very Grateful Customer

Half Way There. One out of nine images you process will be useable. The ones that are keepers are amazing. The artificial intelligence is mind blowing. But there’s always a hand that gets missed, while the rest of the fleshy parts are great. It’s understandable that body parts get missed Unforgivable, however, is the fact that there is no way to go back and fix whatever the algorithm missed. You can’t expect perfection from a machine. So I have to go off and find some other program to use for cleaning up the mess. Programs like Hair Color add similar tints, but the color picker doesn’t allow you to pick up colors from the image itself. The lack of frisket masks makes Hair Color worse than tinting a photo with Marshall’s oil tints on a photographic print. I’ve tried literally dozens of beautify programs to enhance the output of this software. It works great. Sometimes. The whole process is just too unpredictable. Why must developers see this as an either/or proposition???? Either machine intelligence OR human driven interface!!!! That’s completely nuts!!! Let the machine try very hard to get the job done. THEN let the human step in and clean things up. _______________________________________________ **Update** Since posting this review, all save options have disappeared. As if one out of nine photos wasn’t bad enough, now I get none out of every none.

After all. I tried this app before but it didn’t do even an ok job of colorizing a picture. Then I watched a video on YT and find out that it needs to be a true monochrome image to work. That is all I needed to know. It works great now. Not perfect but since this isn’t really meant for a professional job, it doesn’t matter the issues it does have in the process.

Love it!. I downloaded this app to try to add color to my grandmother’s photograph. She passed away and the family was blown away by the color. It was amazing to see the old black and white picture come to life with color. My aunt said it was a perfect likeness of the dress and makeup my grandmother was wearing. Definitely recommend this app.

Brought My Pics Back to Life. I love this freakin’ app. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. No, it’s not 100% (some spots on my photos are discolored, uncolored, or miscolored) but it is perfect for bringing life back into my photos, which is invaluable to me as a family researcher and historian. I’m using it to colorize photos from my family tree on Ancestry and it’s already helping my photos there to pop and speak out. I was paying a girl about $5-$10 per photo to colorize and restore on Fiverr. Now I van colorize as many photos as I want for less than $6/month (yes, I sprang for the paid version). Every now and then, an app comes along that’s worth the extra coin. And to think, I found out about it through one of those IG ads that pop up in the middle of your Story feed. If they figure out how to incorporate photo restoration, I might just be an annual subscriber.

A Great Start for a Great Tool. I appreciate and am grateful for what the app does, many thanks to the developers for this program. It's fun turning black and white photos into color photos. Still, when the render process happens I noticed that it leaves spots of the photos I'm using untouched with color. A majority of the photo will be colorized very well and it's quite remarkable I think how well and seemingly magically this app performs this function. But, in pretty much every photo I've uploaded and imported. The render process will always leave spots of the photo I'm using untouched and those spots remain black and white or sepia or whatever else the original tint was in the source. I haven't tried taking a scan of a black and white photo to colorize yet, so the app may provide better results using it that way. Overall, though, I'm happy and grateful for such a nice, free application, thank you. Maybe with some updates to the program that I'm sure will follow. The developers could hone the process some more so that the render and transformation process doesn't leave any spots of imported photos untouched please. Thanks if you'll look into this issue. Also, thank you again for this wonderful free tool and if you'll consider looking into refining and improving the colorization process and God bless.

Good app but buggy. This app is awesome, but I had an issue with crashes. I just downloaded it and it was working well until I tried uploading a third photo. It crashed 3 times consecutively when I tried to colorize the photo, then told me I had used up my free shares and editing. Conceptually, it’s awesome. The first two photos I attempted were very well edited. I just wish the bug hadn’t happened so I could see the full range of colorization of my old family photos.

I have a problem. I cannot access the main page anymore which means I cannot “add” any photos to upload to colorize. I have had the app for several years and it is great. But for some reason, I cannot use it anymore. Can somebody help?

Just started using the app. Just downloaded the app and started using it. Pesters you every time you save a photo for a review. After the first few test photos it’s doing well. A number of red splotches appear in some photos, but others are quite good. Will update this review after a longer trial period.

It’s about 50/50 right. Over all for the free version so far not bad easy use but the colors are about 50/50 correct. I got to colorized old soda related photos so I know what colors the logos/signs etc should be and it not right, and sometimes they blacks and white photo scans to become septic coloring. Have it a 4 stars because of the errors in colors but over all good app.

They look just like I remember them. This is great. I’ve taken some old black and whites of my relatives and added color. For the most part they look just the way I remember them. Once in a while there is a picture that is doesn’t get the color right or not enough color but that is rare.

It colorizes, but there are glitches.. This app does colorize black and white photos. But sometimes there are littles flares of color in the corners and the cropping feature gets stuck and you have to go out of the app for a while. Amendment- Dec 20, 2022. They upgraded the software and though the addition of the Diamond clarity feature is very nice. My screenshots that I am trying to colorize seem much darker and murkier now.

Fun enough. If you have a lot of B&W photos and some patience this app will hit a home run about 1 in 10 times. Is that worth the monthly fee? Depends on the user. Most of the time clothing converts to some shade of gray often with annoying red tints and patches. Hands, feet, and ears frequently stay their original shade giving them the appearance of dead limbs. Objects of obvious color such as flowers inevitably convert to grayish or brownish colors. If your originals are out of focus you are probably out of luck. And the auto-crop sometimes takes off the top of a head or mutilates group photos. I know it’s just an app, but if these issues could be corrected or if colors could be manually attached to objects, this app would rock. As it is, for me anyway, for now I will hang around for those home runs. Ciao.

It really works!. This app is amazing. I was skeptical at first because I have tried other apps promising to turn my black and white photos into color ones and I’ve never found an app that produced photos that looked authentic like this app does. I am even able to add color to very old black and white photos and the photos turn out looking authentically vintage but in color instead of the original black and white. This app is well worth the money and it has given me the ability to colorize black and white photos that are very meaningful to myself and my family. Thank you, app developers! 💜

Pretty awesome. This app is friggin awesome. I have a lot of pictures of my mom and dad and when me and my brother and sister were little that r in blk & wht I’m telling you it does an awesome job in seconds. And looks so much better in color and like I said you would think it was take. In color.

80% awesome. So I’ve just started using the app and honestly the pictures look pretty awesome. My 2 main issues so far are.... 1. The slider doesn’t go all the way across the photo. So there’s always a strip of B/W down the right side of every photo. I don’t need a slider at all, and it just seems to be getting in the way. 2. I have no control over the cropping, so for the problem above I would just shrink the photo slightly to make sure the colorizing goes all the way across, but I can’t, so I don’t. The lack of these basics options are frustrating. Pictures look great for the parts that get covered! Hopefully that’ll be fixed soon or I’ll figure out a way around it.

Scan or upload? Can’t search albums?. Maybe I’m missing something. Why can’t I choose a pic from an album that I already scanned years ago? The option I’m given is scan or upload. After that I’m able to choose from the “moments” folder. How do I choose any other folder? Either I missed it or the developers did. I’m guessing me. Hopefully it’s me but I’m not seeing any other options in this app to choose albums! I get that the algorithms can not be exact. I’m not reviewing that part (though there should be a way to fine tune what the software isn’t picking up).

Surprisingly good. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt in 2/3 trials. I took 3 photos, 2 i used the built in photo editor of Apple, the third I ram through photoshop. The first 2 didn’t work, and that’s there the benefit comes in, but the third was surprisingly accurate. It got the blue of the walls pretty close, and the black of the shirt was a bit redder than black, but still close. The 4 colors were pastel, but definitely there. Overall, this is a really cool concept and I’m glad I tried it out. Will be keeping.

Fantastic!. I downloaded this app on a lark, just to see what it can do. I’ve been researching my family tree so I have a lot of black and white pics to test it on. I’m really surprised by the results! A few pics didn’t turn out very well but they were poor quality to start with. The others have turned out so well, and it’s amazing to see these long lost relatives in color for the first time. I’m so happy with the results!

App keeps crashing. The colorizing is very good but Your app keeps crashing after colorizing just two or three photos. Every single time. I have to pick the two most important photos I need to colorize because I know your app will crash. Then I must delete app and reinstall again and repeat the process over and over. I paid for a subscription fix your app! FIX YOUR APP or return our money. Also chest hair is not purple or blue!

Worked really well. I’m doing a painting of my grandfather who died when my dad was young, so I never got to meet him. My reference was a black and white picture taken of him during the 40s and since I’m doing this as a surprise for my dad, I can’t really ask him what color his hair was or what shade his eyes were. So I thought I would just have to go with what I picture in my head. When I saw this app I didn’t expect much but I tried it on the reference picture and it was so real looking. This is certainly gonna help a lot with finishing the painting. Definitely would give this app a try!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SCAM. I paid $7.99 for a monthly renewable subscription. As soon as I installed it, ads start popping up. They ask you to pay an additional $0.99 to remove the ads. I paid even though it is unethical since I am already suscribed. After subscribing, it only allows me to scan pictures. I am unable to upload pictures from my saved pictures in my phone. They then ask you to pay extra for that function. This is one of the worst scams I have seen in apps. And before people think I don’t inow my way around apps I want to share that I design apps for a big tech company! Don’t buy from this scammers! I nearly forgot to mention that I cancelled the app inmediately and it shows I was charged and I may still continue to use it until March 5. Another scam! It won’t work! It prompts me to purchase it again!

Really Good. I loved this when I first got it. The pictures are really good quality. I love it even more now that it allows me to watch short ads instead of paying a lot for it when I don’t have that much. And they’re not pop-up ads; they ask if ads are okay. Thank you for being awesome!

Impressive.. I just looked into colorizing yesterday. This does pretty impressive work. Glad I got it. A few comments. 1. there is a face sharpening tool which is sometimes amazing and sometimes too strong and makes it not useable for some pictures. There needs to be a way to dial back sharpening a bit. Sometimes it’s so strong it looks like they are wearing a mask made of human skin. which is a bit creepy. Incidentally, the way you get undo it is to either reload the picture, or just edit the crop which gives you a chance to say no. An UNDO would be useful. 2. The user interface is a bit strange to get around. 3. You can use a limited version without ads a few times, but the detail is less and very soon that ads are so intrusive you just can’t use the app anymore. 4. If you only have a few pictures to do, pay for one month and then cancel. 5. Also helpful would be the ability to tell the app that a given area it has decided should be blue should maybe be another color. Overall good.

Not great from my experience. I tested out this app with an old black and white photo and it colorized it, and I thought “woah cool” but I didn’t know what colors would pop up since it an old picture I wasn’t there to see. So then I tested it out on a photo that I knew the colors of, that was black and white. And it was completely wrong. So then I questioned the accuracy of color for my first photo. (The first one seemed to get the face color pretty well actually! Just the uniform/outfit may not have been right)

It adds color, but not the correct color. It definitely adds color to black and white photos, but it doesn’t add the right color. I tried it out with a photo I turned black and white, and the photo turned out completely different from the original colored photo. The colors also are unnatural with a lot of yellow. It’s completely impossible to get the colors of a b&w photo correct. Honestly just keep your photos b&w. b&w isn’t as horrible to have on a photo.

Laughable. Wish you could see the result of the app’s introductory colorization. I gave it a crisp black and white portrait, and it returned the same image with just a splash of skin tone color from one eye, across the bridge of the nose, to the other eye. Roughly 90% of the image remained black and white (and remember the photo is all head and top of the shoulders, very little background around the edges. A very close up selfie if you will). And there isn’t any way to give the app “hints” of what areas are skin, hair, cloth, etc. No way to adjust the app’s colorization. I’m sorry Photomyne, but buyers move along, nothing to see here.

I’m amazed-. Coming from a 16 year old, this is absolutely mind blowing. I took three pictures of a group and they all came back with color and no errors. Even when five people were in one picture it was capable of gathering colors. I cant wait to use this on old photos, especially my grandfather who I have never met before, therefore this is an amazing app that should keep going and to give it a shot.

Needs more consistency. The only thing keeping me from purchasing this app is the inconsistency it has with coloring. I’m not expecting complete transformations but one photo it will do really well and the next is blotchy or missing most everything. I even tried to finish some in Photoshop but that’s even worse. Don’t know if it gets better if you purchase...$40 is a lot for something not that dependable. Have to say it is the best one out there right now just too expensive for only doing half the job half the time. I’ll keep checking on improvements!

Truly wonderful. My family comes from countries that didn’t have the same technology that first world countries had in the 60’s - 80’s, so this is really just awesome. I can share this wonderful ability to colorize photos with my family and they can relive so many memories. This is just amazing. Wow

Love this app!. This is so easy to do! It practically does everything for you, even crops the picture. And you don’t have to be an expert picture taker or have a newer model phone. It does it all for you! There are some pictures, however, that might be too faded or shadowy and won’t come out as great. Other than that, I am having fun with this app.

Here’s a few tips to the developer.. Naturally the software used is infantile, but it is quite amazing. It record images with a great recollection for colors-sometimes. Skin tones are amazing but don’t always cover the entire body. Sometimes the face will be perfect but the chest or arms and hands won’t be colored. Other times the clothes are passed over entirely. I’m sure as time goes on the recoloring will better, but for now it is an amazing tool. Hopefully someday you will be able to totally recolor an image with a fair degree of accuracy. Also another small thing, when uploading, you should be allowed to choose what album you want to search through. Scrolling through my moments for a specific date is quite a pain. Other than that, great app!

Black & white to color. When I saw this program I didn’t think that it was gonna be much but when I found out how easy it is to operate and to maneuver yourself through this to get your photos in it is so easy I am so very happy with the outcome of the colors and everything I highly recommend it to anybody who does photography yes it cost to pay but you can paying for a good service

PRETTY DARN GOOD!. The biggest problem I have found is that, many times, the colorization made a woman’s suit two colors, like it was a skirt and blouse. It did the same thing with a photo of me at age 6 in a sailor suit that was all one fabric. It also can’t determine the true color of a subject’s hair, but considering what it does do, I am quite impressed and will decide very soon to pay for the program.

Can't get past in-app purchases. Wait a minute! First few scans are free? 3? 5?Regardless of whether I buy any in-app purchases or not‽ One time purchase that … only lasts 2 years? What's that *other* one time purchase‽ Does that last 18 months? 3 years? Almost all of you do this. I buy the apps but the in-app purchases feel like a scam because they make no sense. I have them piled up on my phone but I don't know what's worth bothering with.

Flags and Bunting in pictures, the system still does not recognize flags!. This has done a great and excellent job for me so far, but in a lot of pictures when flags and bunting of Red, White & Blue the software still does not recognize this and color them! So far some pictures I knew would not be good for color but they come out fantastic, it’s been great for me but a few tweaks need to be worked out! 👍 A great app to use to add color! If anyone gives it a low star, it’s has to be the competition posting, because without a subscription you get the tools needed that’s great, but I use it so much that I did get a subscription and never have regret it! Just if the flags and bunting would color in, it would be the Ultimate app! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great app. It does a really good job colorising most pictures. Sometimes it tends to add a reddish shade to certain parts of the photo and sometimes the color fades out toward the edge of the picture. But considering that you push a button and the app does a very good rendition I recommend it highly.

Fascinating and amazingly powerful, when it works. I love the fact that you can tell the AI that it’s guess was wrong, but that doesn’t make it reassess and try again. It’s great that eventually it’ll learn and that the next iteration will be better, but If possible you should add the ability to edit: even if only to be able to click on the sections it missed and let it try a round 2

There is always room for improvement. I like the app but it has one major problem. The app does not adjust to the size of the photo being colorized. You have to reduce the size of the photo first otherwise if the photo is say a portrait of a man wearing a hat, most of the hat will be cut off during colorizing. There is no way to increase the size of window the photo appears in. Hope this makes sense...

Everyone is amazed at what this can do!. Still photo colorization is too notch. The animation is only so-so. Highly recommend for bringing old photos to life. I usually just snap photos with my iPhone camera, colorize them and print them at Costco.

Colorization. I think that a lot more can be done in this field in bringing color to black and white photos! I’ve seen WWII photos that are more vivid in their color photos. Why is it that the “brown” and “blue” colors get mixed up in some of the photos! I’m not sure the general public is getting their money’s worth! This is a unique field, I only wish the results were better! Same as above. Your “brown” colors turn into “blue” and vice versa! Your IT guys haven’t figured out how to correct this BIG problem nor have I received any explanation as a paying customer! They could do this process back in WWII with exceptional results, I don’t know why you can’t do it! I see you're in front of the line at the APP store, I don’t see how! When my subscription expires, I’m gone!

Amazing for the most part…. Love it. It really does a good job on most photos. One photo did have my dad in his dark blue suit all except one sleeve was in burgundy. I’m not quite sure how to fix the wrong colored sleeve. I would probably have to find a photo editor to do the fix. I would have to contact the developers as to a recommendation.

Please help!. Just paid for the 2 years. I colorized a picture on my photo gallery on my phone. Turned out great! How and what do I do to see my pictures to colorize them? I will update my rating when I find out how to get my pictures to colorize. This is the only reason I got app is to use my camera roll. If I can’t use pictures on my camera roll, I want to unsubscribe to the app. Which I’d hate to have to do, but app will be worthless to me 🥺 Thank you for replying to my problems and telling me what app I needed. The colorize old photos app works great! Some photos colorize better than others, but I love it! Please refund me my 2 year subscription on the scanning app, since I’ll be deleting it since I can’t use it. I will definitely update my review when I get refund for the other app that I can’t use. Great app found at the right time. This app has been terrific in bringing to life many B&W wonderful pix of my family to life. The colorizing is quick and intuitive and so is saving. Would desire abilities such as selecting multiple photos at once, selecting from favorites folder and upload to other favorite apps (not just camera roll)

Surprised Me. I didn’t really expect much, but it really works (most of the time). Since I didn’t have any b&w photos, I downloaded some from the web. It seems to struggle when there are multiple people in different lighting. It seems to know patterns and is able to color based on those patterns such as bricks or wood. It was unable to colorize the U.S. flag, however. I had a color picture of a Buckingham Palace guard that I turned b&w and ran through the app. It knew the coat was supposed to be red. Overall, this app is very good at what it does. I’m hoping there will continue to be improvements.

Love it. I was impressed by this app. It takes seconds to colorize a black and white photograph and does a great job most of the time. There are some instances where it doesn’t color all of the skin on a picture and sometimes there is a bit of a rainbow pattern on some of the clothing (especially if the clothing was originally red). Regardless of the occasional issues, which will hopefully be fixed with more updates, the app really is amazing with what it can do. The result can be jaw dropping. I also tried it out on old pictures which were originally color photographs but had aged so that badly I was unable to fix the colors- I simply made them black and white and ran them through the app and they looked a hundred times better. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who is interested.

BEAT APP I LOVE THE PAST!!! (Few problems though. So I love learning bout the HISTORY I LOVE IT!! And I was going to images and Wikipedia for WW2 but then I’m like...wait what color are their uniforms and their tanks and stuff and other old pictures I found and surprisingly IT WORKED but I thought there was blood in the picture but then in every picture had blood so I’m like...this is not the picture, it’s the app... so I don’t know if you could fix that or if it’s just normal buttttt......THX FOR THIS APP!!!

Best app I have ever used.. Are used this app to convert my father-in-law photo from black-and-white to colour. I was surprised and excited to see how easy it is to change a black-and-white image to colour. It also created a portrait video as well. I highly recommend this application

Great app. I think this app is great.

Good but could be better. Great to see something other than myheritage on the market - very easy app to use, however there could be an improvement on colorisation, particularly when distinguishing between colours. some of my images had bright red grass instead of green as well as pink skies which clearly was during midday. i paid $50 so i hope to see more like the ability to edit, add and remove colours

The Past Lives. The first time I used this I cried. Seeing the past in colour made my ancestors real. The recreation of flesh tones is magic. Some other colours not so. The more shadow in a photo the less successful the colouring is. Often there is a ‘rainbow’ effect depending on the dappled light. Nevertheless I love it!

Ipad usage. The results are good and will subscribe after trying it. Suggest cropping is a bit too severe and really really would like a landscape version for the iPAd. Is good.

Amazing. This is quite an amazing app! It does the job very quickly and the result is extremely good. It would be nice if you could choose a colour when you know the colour of something in the photo, such as a school uniform. However, this is a small issue. I highly recommend getting this.

Great, needs a bit of tweaking.. I have got people with 1 leg coloured and 1 leg still in black n white, after applying the colour on a black n white pic. Then this app would be awesome. Also a little awkward when someone ends up with green hair.

Colourising. I have enjoyed using this app. Seeing my old photos come to colour has been revealing. I found using the app easy I only wish I could hold the iPad steadier when I’m taking the pictures to upload. I found downloading the colourised photos to my computer easy.

The Best Colorize app. It’s not perfect but what is?! Considering it is initially free to Colorize photos-a lot of which give you a great foundation to work on and develop further- it is hands down the best colourisation app available. There is a hefty fee after a while but nothing even comes close to this one, which puts the other apps on the market into perspective!

Colourised Magic. My BW photographs of ocean vistas and rare coastal farm snaps were greatly improved with colourisation. This app does it very well however chestnut horses turn out dark brown. However old aerial coastal shots colourised very well.

Sometimes just awesome. While not all the photos I had really worked there were one or two that literally made the person come alive on my phone

Great. A truly brilliant app! Unfiirtunately, I have now forgotten my password and I have tried all ways suggested, every time I enter my email address it informs me that I already have that email registered! I have gone round in circles and am getting very frustrated! How do I reset my password when everything I do by following your instructions keeps telling me that I already have it registered with existing account. I have paid for the yearly plan and it has been taken from my bank but I cannot work out how to get back into the app. A very poor example of how to reset a password!

Does the job. Colours aren’t spot on, but they’re pretty good. Green jumpers come up as Blue from a black and white photo, but they still look amazing

This App Delivers. This app works seemingly like magic - ended up colourizing over 1200 family photos. Maybe 1 in 15 has weird colors and the app does prefer to assign blue when in doubt, but is still absolutely incredible.

Works ok, but don’t expect highly accurate. This is a great app for easy and quick processing. Results will vary greatly however. The app seems to lean heavily on the color blue which can leak in incorrectly. It struggles with uniform results on clothes from extremely old photos which can color some of it only leaving the look unnatural. It does do well on some photos, which may be due to quality of the original photo and can produce some nice results. Some of family photos from the 40’s & 50’s came out quite nice. It won’t replace the work of a professional who has understanding of right colors to apply to saw, military uniforms etc and have no spots in the image missed, but knowing that going in, you can enjoy what get most of the time. A touch-up editor would be nice after processing, for say the patchy work on clothes in extremely old clothes, in case you don’t have access to software to make necessary the corrections afterwards.

Pretty good. I’m using this to take pictures of my WW2 photos, for some it works pretty well but for close ups it keeps making their uniforms bright blue when I know for a fact they were brown. Please try to fix this, there’s way too much blue!

I downloaded the app tonight and it seems to do with its told. I pulled two photos, one of vintage photo from the 1940s of my dad, and another one of my grandfather that I took in the 1980s. The one from the 1980s gave true colour as I remember, so I’m confident that the 1940s one is correct as well. This was with the free trial program, it appears to do what it says it’s supposed to.

Not accurate. 90% of the picture is still in black and white. A red shirt somehow becomes blue with this app. It’s not accurate.

Overly Simple and inaccurate. As a paid subscriber I have to say this program is a major let down. Colour is just thrown on top of the photo, it rarely gets it right. A good start for ease of use but this app needs a major redo if you want people to trust your apps. Lucky for me I own Photoshop but who has the time to fix every photo.

Bad bad bad🙅🏼‍♀️. The picture of my cat is supposed to be brown, red, and black. But this app put it in yellow and blue🤦🏼‍♀️

Simple to use. Very simple to use and does an excellent job with faces and clothes. Not perfect though. For example, hands on laps appear either black and white or a strange mottled blue/black. Still, it does a good job of bringing people to life!

No longer usable without paying $40. Have had this app for a few years and scanned maybe 10 photos. Results where interesting and gave the photo a new look, but certainly ranged from bad to okay depending on the photo. Now I can no longer export a photo without paying $39.99, I see no other options. You are also only only allowed to try one photo. Maybe worth it if you use it all the time, but I’ve now deleted it; maybe they should consider a $0.99 option for a photo a day for the casual user. I’m out.

Rip off. I purchased several years worth and it expires March of 2023 and the app has already cut me off from using the app prematurely.

Worth it. Thank you so much for making this so easy to use and free! I used a different app but you had to pay. This one is easier to use and isn’t constantly trying to charge you. Such a great app too- I love coloring pictures of my grandmas to show her.

PHENOMENAL App. I can’t describe how happy I am with this app. I used Colorize to add color to a picture of my Mom and Nana when Mom was about two years old. The photo was taken 100 years ago in 1921. It brought me to tears.

Love it. I have been carrying around some B&W photos and always wondered what the colors were. It added such dimension to the photos to see them in color, as well as the app cleaned up the photos as well!!

Best colorization app I’ve found. I’ve played with several apps using my old family photos (from 1870s-1960s). This one has been the best as far as colorizing and making portraits crisp.

This app works very well. This app works very well. I had a picture of my great grandmother that was black and white and how it looks very lovely to see it in color. However, the skin tones don’t always turn out the best, so there is room for improvement. But for free that can’t be beat. God bless✝️

60 year old Sister pictures. Most pictures turned out really well. My younger sisters have hardly any pictures of them as little girls. When I saw them in color I almost cried, they really came alive.

I love this app!. I have been able to take black-and-white photos from the 19 century that came out so beautifully. It was amazing explaining! They are able to sharpen the focus on the faces that catches the sparkle in your loved ones eyes!

I think this is an amazing app!. I thought this was gonna be a stereotypical app that claims something and then is like oh never mind. But it’s really not. I took some of my old ww2 black and white photos and scanned them. And they came out amazing! It almost feels like I was there now! This is a great app

Can be more user friendly. It is fairly confusing to operate. Generally b&w photos are already on the iPhone or computer and it becomes confusing when before & after are saved as pair. I just want the after effect since I already have the before version.

Love it. So to be honest, sometimes the colorization just won’t look too great if the photo is really old and damaged or fuzzy. But overall I love this app and use it all the time. It’s the only colorizer app I use.

Excellent. I am amazed at how well this colorizer works on pictures. Except for a very few it has hit right on the colors of the clothing that was originally worn by a lot of people.

It’s good until it doesn’t color everything. It’s really good app the only problem is that sometimes it doesn’t color the photo all the way and there is still some black and white left and only some color.

Do NOT download or try this app. I downloaded the app, tried it, didn’t like it very much, canceled my subscription and deleted it from my phone. But now the developer (Photomyne) tries to charge me $6.99 every month! It’s a lot of work each time to dispute the charge and I may just have to cancel that credit card to get rid of them. Their support department is not worth the name because they are not helping at all. Catch-22 in the 21st Century!

Magic- grandma‘s Memorial. We were preparing for my grandmothers funeral when we found some of her old pictures. I used the app to bring one of her most significant pictures to life and place it on her obituary. It was like magic. Thank you.

Wonderful Program. It’s wonderful, I’m finally able to colorize my vintage B&W photos without having to use a SLOW computer program 😁

It’s ok but.... This app does colorize your photos kind of. The colors kind of blur into the background and don’t actually focus on the actual subject on the photo. For example, I had an old photo of a pink rose that I wanted to restore, and it was just a pink and grey blurry mess. Of course, apps can’t restore photos perfectly, and I was using the basic tools so idk how the upgraded version works, but if you’re ok with the little blur to your photos, then this app is fine.

Better than expected. Decided to try, the picture I tested on was near perfect, if the photo isn’t super sharp, the app can confuse an arm with a skirt and end up with a blue arm, I can’t blame the app, very cool guessing the posible color of clothing, sadly my 90 yo grandma can’t confirm if the colors are accurate, but she did confirm that the skin tones are good.

Designed nicely but ineffective support. The overall user interface is nice and colorized photos well most of the time. It struggled with clothing colors at times, but overall, it is a good app for coloring. Offers bulk sharing and saving. As time passed, there were downloading iCloud issues, and support (Lara) was dismissive and unprofessional. The app became a brick on my phone, so I deleted it.

Living color. People who have been gone many years look alive again when the photos of them go from black-and-white to this great color!

Best app for B&W to Color Convertor. It’s hard to find apps like this in the App Store and the best part is that it is free. I don’t mind ads but I also don’t want to pay for a little quantity of B&W pictures I possess. Thanks developers for this tool....App offers only 3 photos for free conversion and I am fine with it.

Cool!. Nicely changes pictures from B&W to color! You’ll need to pay to keep them in photo quality but they are really decent without this upgrade. Recommend!

It’s okay. I’ve played around with it in the demo, because I’m not going to pay for a service like this; I’ve found that it only works well on portraits. I tried colorising a picture of my hometown that I found online that was taken in 1937 and it didn’t do anything but make it look like it was put through a sepia filter. 4.5/5 for portraits though.

What a Thrill!. Although not all of the colors are accurate to what they used to be originally, it is a real thrill to see my many black-and-white photos of the family, dating back to the 1930s and 40s come alive! It’s just outright fun to do!

Beware!!!. In order to test the product - which it invites you to do - you have to agree to a subscription purchase! ImYou have 3 days to cancel it before being charged, but it is not at all obvious how to actually cancel! I wasn’t paying attention and agreed to the subscription prompt by mistake. I then scrambled to figure out how to turn it off. I got the link I needed from a confirmation email. Until I found that, nothing in the app tells you how to cancel.

This app is amazing!. I’m a huge history person, and I needed something to colorize pictures with. It works so well! It even gets the hair colors of people right! It’s wonderful, thanks so much!

Want money before I can save a photo. I downloaded this app to work on my parents wedding photo that was black and white.... and it would not let me save it to even show it to them so sad.... when apps do this without giving anything to try for free for 10 days or a couple of effects to try it and if like it you then buy it. Well it took me longer to write this review before I deleted the app for good thank you but no that’s keep your app lost a customer..

Amazing for free. Omg this app is amazing I tested it to see if it was actually giving me accurate color of my great great grandparents so I took I pic of me on black and white and then used the app on it honestly flawless and I love having it free the first bit

Fairly Disappointing. I’ve tried colorizing about eight black and white photos, all scanned at high resolution. Only two are good enough to share. The other six end of having color streaking or other artifacts in the image.

Amazed me. I did it on my 3 great grandparents and the first time ever I saw them in color. Always wonder what they looked like. Even my sister and mom were amazed! I even saw my mom when she was little in color.

Love it. Love it except when it locks up on cropping. I have colorized almost 800 pictures so far. I troll the internet for old photos and colorize almost all of them. They turn out pretty impressive.

Half way there!. Really great interface and simple. However, the colorization misses a lot. Some pics colorize the bulk of a persons flesh, but their legs, neck, or other random area are still black and white. Needs a targeted “fix this spot” ability so you can recolor areas that are missed by the automated pass. If that was fixed it would be a 5 star and worth paying a few bucks for.

I love this app. This app is the best and why it’s because when I showed my mom this and when I turned her cousins and her aunt’s and her moms photos into color she was surprised I’m glad that you Didn’t add any subscriptions to this app

Cole DOES. make a difference. I’m writing this after my first colorization! The app is AWESOME. So easy to use and a great extension of Photomyne. Now I want to get all my black and white photos together and turn them into bonafide living color.

Wow!. Most of the pictures that I colorized were amazing! The color changes very fast. There are a few quirks where there is a discoloration in part of the picture and one women who I know had red hair, had her hair dark. Overall, I am very impressed and have told so many people to get this app.
