Best choice to download. If you are trying to study for any test this is the best app to use, you can make as much decks without getting a message that you need premium. Honestly I wish I found this app earlier because it has helped me to study a lot faster and more efficiently than I used to.

The “update” destroyed the app. I’ve spent years building thousands of Cantonese study cards on the Chegg app. In addition to study, I used the search function to find groupings of terms and to search a word if I needed it. The new “upgraded” app doesn’t have a search function within that deck of cards (a reason I got the original app to begin with). Now if I want to find a card I have to scroll through 4000+ cards. Each card had an English translation, the phoneticized Cantonese, and the Chines character. I had vocab, phrases, conversations, martial art terms, movie stuff, everything. It took my forever to make these. Wasted time now. Worse yet there is no capability to download the cards so I can put them in my own database. Chegg has literally stolen my six+ years of work and research in a puff of smoke. USE ANY OTHER FLASHCARD APP.

Used to be good. Was using the old program and put in about 30 cards manually. Then the next day I open the app up and it’s like “LOL, you can’t use this app any more. Get the new one”. So I get the new one and it goes “LOL, I lost 29 of your 30 new cards”. I figure it’s a problem with the transition so I do another hour of work creating another 30 cards or so and the next day guess what, “LOL, I dumped all of your new cards but one again”. Well, it was nice using this app before but I’m done with the new version. Maybe I’ll still look at some of my old decks, or just delete the app since I can’t seem to get anything new to stick. Bummer.

0 Stars!! Deleted 2 years worth of cards.. When you made the users switch from Chegg flash cards to Chegg prep, you deleted all of my Japanese vocabulary cards. I had 4 semesters, which is 2 years, worth of vocabulary & grammar cards which are ALL GONE NOW! The only thing that is left are the more recent flashcards decks that I will never touch again. Now It will be impossible to refill out the flashcards because I no longer have the books or Professor available! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! USE QUIZLET INSTEAD!!!!

The best out there!!!!!. I have tried multiple flash card apps and this is by far the best and easiest to use. I can also choose to use my cards in private without having to share it with everyone. Thanks Chegg for your awesome work 🙌🏽

App change made this program useless to me.. When the app changed from chegg flashcards I discovered that it was connection dependent. I often don’t have a connection or lose it and have to restart my study session. When I get distracted and come back to study and my phone has gone to sleep I lose my study session and have to start over. The app is basically useless to me and now I’ll have to rebuild all my decks on another app.

Awesome and convenient. Simple to use. I can see my cards from another device by just signing in. One annoying issue is it frequently asks me to sign in again and again.

Better then I thought. I've never been a fan of flash cards, but this site has changed my mind! My wife and I each have three tests coming up. All of which will be needed, to be taken at the same time. My wife set up the cards for all three tests and we're learning the info. Since we're both taking the test and are 58 years old, having to learn and memorize all the information is a challenge. I highly recommend CHEGG Prep!!😊

Incredibly easy to use. I love this flash card app! Creating cards is intuitive and simple . I also enjoy the different ways content can be used, either as a study list, Flash cards or a multiple choice quiz.

Please update. So I used study blue my first 2 yrs of college and now I guess since chegg bought them it deleted all of my cards and I can no longer access them. Since chegg prep on my computer isn’t uploading the pictures for my lab practicals, I tried doing it on this app. IT DOESNT EVEN ACCESS MY CAMERA ROLL. It only lets you take photos to put them in. Chegg prep on the computer is also being really glitchy with photos being added. Please update

StudyBlue. I had just updated the study blue app not knowing about them being bought, and was able to fully use the app to make a set of flash cards and a new account. I close the app, attempt to open it again, just to get an immovable notification about needing to swap over to chegg prep. My new set of flash cards are gone and if I had not been able to use the app prior I would be a lot less annoyed at spending an hour on flash cards just to have them tossed into a void.

Works well, generally.. Solid app, I just have a slight issue when practicing decks using the multiple choice function- if multiple flash cards have the same answer there is no way to tell between them. (At least not that I can see)

Need to be connected to the internet to use. When the app was originally developed you did not need an internet connection to use the app, however since the update a couple years ago you are now required to be connected to the internet, otherwise the app will sign you out rendering it useless. I reached out to the developers over a year ago to discuss my concerns but nothing has been done to correct the issue. I am hoping this honest review will bring about a positive change.

This app is a waste of time.. I was using this app to learn a scheme for my job. I made a set of cards all well and good. The next day I added more cards. Then the app developed a problem and it said it’s not you it’s us and to come back later. When I came back later it had deleted all the new things I added. An hour’s worth of work. So I spent another hour typing in the things that got deleted and i came back today after not using the app for three days and again it deleted everything I added to the original deck. I’ve had it with this app. I’m going to try one by a different developer. I’m not stupid enough to waste my time trying a third time.

Lost Card - Wasted Effort. I had originally planned on using the Flashcards app locally. Hence, I didn’t really pay attention to the account creation process. Fast forward to 2020 and the app is no longer supported (with no warning, whatsoever) and Chegg has the audacity to tell me that I need to login again on a whole new app to recover years’ worth of effort. When I opened this app, I was appalled to find that it wasn’t optimised for the iPad at all and, on the whole, was rather rough around the edges. So, not only did the geniuses at Chegg lay out hurdles to transitioning between apps, they made the final app as barebones as they possibly could get away with. I hope whichever brainlet that greenlit this endeavour is happy with themselves.

Missing features that Flash Cards had. I liked flash cards, it’s format was easy to use. One great feature it had was the voice option. This was great for finding the right pronunciation of words when learning a foreign language. I asked a professor if the pronunciation in the app was close to being right, she said it was good. With more learning from home, this would be a great feature to add to this app because it was very helpful. Till it is added, I can only say this app is not a good upgrade.

Sucky app. Twice now I was using this app when after making around 30 cards I would have to go to a different location where the WiFi was weak. I pressed done both times before leaving so I thought the deck was saved, but when I went back to add more it would not let me save and when I got WiFi the app reset and I lost over half of the cards I had made, including the ones I had made with internet.

Where is Landscape View???. Chegg took a great app (Flashcards) and ruined it. The new app has way fewer functions than the old Flashcard app. Just one example: it only allows portrait view - no landscape mode. As others have mentioned, they locked me out of the old app without warning and forced me to move to the new app. Rule of thumb: If they have to force you to make the switch, then they know it isn’t really a better product. I’m now exploring new options for flashcards apps. I can no longer in good conscience recommend the Chegg app.

Lost almost all my flashcards. Without any warning I was forced off the Slides+ app, and although I logged in with the same account, NONE of my recent slides are here on the new app. Some are here, but not all of them by a mile, and not organized by any of the decks/courses I had created in the previous app. I just effectively wasted hours and hours of my life creating flashcards yesterday, and today I log in and they are all gone. I’m literally crying at the prospect of starting my entire test prep process over. what a horrible thing to do to students. I’ll be trying to find alternate flashcard apps, I cannot trust Chegg.

Much better, but. This is an update that is very important to me. It was really bad that you have to study the whole deck whenever you stop studying. Now being able to review the ones you got the ones you missed and not reviewed yet is very good. But still nothing at all like check Flashcards was. Such a shame that you took that program away from us but at least now I can study and not have to redo the whole deck. Thank You 😊

No landscape view. I had been using Study Blue for years and was sad they got bought. I thought Chegg would keep a lot of their good ideas but they didn’t. No landscape view which is the worst. I also can no longer import excel sheets which is where I have most of my vocabulary words stored. Each card has to be made individually which is kind of time consuming. They do have better image importing but the lack of landscape view is a huge drawback.

Used to be great!. This used to be a program with all the belles and whistles, not any more; the update has removed the text to speech feature and it requires you to log in multiple times (sometimes) and you can’t access your own content if you are not logged in/ don’t have a wifi connection. In a nut shell older version such as 3.31.1 was better than the current version 1.12.3. I hope they will make this prog great again, so it’s worth buying it!

Hours of work got deleted 🥲. I chose this because of the free addition of the pictures, but after several hours of making my batch of cards, it disappeared because it apparently refreshed in the background and didn’t save what I was still working on. Mind you, I needed to go back and forth between this app and others like safari for information and pictures and such, so this is a major problem. It also has less organization options than other services. All in all I think if you fix these major bugs it could be a really good app, but as of now I want to cry because school = anxiety, and hours of lost work = anxiety, so basically I’m just gonna cry 🥲

AWESOME. I keep seeing reviews that say this app is inconvenient and will delete your stuff, but personally that hasn’t happened to me. My friend recommended it to me and I’m so happy!! I love it!! I have finals literally in 3 days so Chegg comes in handy for sure. You can sort your flash cards into folders, and then you get the option of multiple choice, or just regular flash card use. A lot of the reviews I’ve seen have been from like a year ago though, which is probably why I’m experiencing better service. Chegg has probably made some upgrades or something. Anyway, great app I love it so much 😍

Great for making flash cards. Pros- It’s great when making simple flash cards and as many as you want. Able to share with everyone or keep to yourself Nice features to check off what you got write or wrong Cons- If you start making a deck and don’t click done it will not save which it really bad. I made many decks and a few of them got deleted because I failed to click done. Even when I’m switching apps they will be deleted. There should be an autosave feature instead of having the user click done. The older app was fine, this is somewhat of a step up.

Hours of work lost. I previously had 100s of Flashcards on Chegg’s Flashcards app. After installing an update the app will not allow me access to my Flashcards, said it was no longer supported and I needed to use this Chegg prep app. I downloaded the app and signed in and only a small portion of my Flashcards are there. Dozens and dozens of hours are gone. I’m sure there’s some explanation that I had somehow signed out of the flashcard app at somepoint but this is maddening. I cannot even access the old app anymore. I don’t care if you’ve stopped supporting it, you should let me access it and get my data. I have no use for all these fancy features. All I wanted was a simple flashcard app. I shouldn’t have to login in the first place. Just let me save things locally and give me control over the work I create. I will be looking for a different app.

Not as good as Chegg Flashcards. Lost functionality, not sure what is better about this app over the discontinued chegg flashcards. T won’t read the flashcards Andy more and I can’t study just the ones I missed. Still using it though because I don’t want to have to rebuild my card decks.

Just bring Chegg Flashcards back!. Like many users, I also had to forcibly switch to this from Chegg Flashcards. I haven’t had any problems with decks or cards being deleted and the multiple choice quiz mode is a nice addition, hence the two stars. However... Not being able to sort decks into categories is a big problem. I don’t understand why they would remove this feature. It’s very inconvenient for those not studying in the US, because you can only sort your decks into courses from American universities. I messaged the developers about missing features and they only responded to my suggestion about having the option to disable saving cropped pictures. I’m getting the impression that the current developer team doesn’t have the necessary skills or resources to implement very basic features that are being demanded by so many users. They seem to be pretty slow at solving bugs too... In any case, I will probably switch to another app.

Not as good as study blue. Hello developers, I hope you get this review. I am okay with you guys switching from study blue to this but if you are going to do that, please make it so when I study my flash cards, I can study the ones I did wrong and can track my progress the same way as study blue did. Also when I try to log in on the Chegg prep app with my google account that I used for study blue, I get an error message saying “something went wrong”. Please fix this as I don’t want to remake all my flash cards again. Other than that, I see Chegg prep being a success as long as you guys listen to the users. Thank you for reading.

Switching to the newer app deletes your decks. I sat down and created 9 decks of Korean vocabulary that I’ve been learning and when I was forced to switch to the newer app, it deleted 8 of my decks and I can’t find them. I tried to check on the website and my decks are still missing. I even tried signing in and out. I’m so angry and disappointed. I’ll find an app that can perform better because this is ridiculous. If it doesn’t appear by tomorrow, I’m deleting my account and the app.

Frustrating. This app is just as bad as the rest. I uploaded 20 flash cards which was hella work and it only saved 2 of them and made me resign in. I wish somebody would make a good flash card app! I might as well hand write them takes less time and I know it’s done! I have too many flash cards to make for my program for it not to be saving. Very disappointed!!

Pretty good app, wouldn’t mind a few more features. I like that you can add pictures, randomize the deck, and flip the whole deck at once. I think allowing decks to be shuffled as default would be a nice feature. Also, giving us the option to study a random deck would stop me from avoiding those “easy” decks. Maybe a progress tracking system, like a graph, would be helpful. Thanks for a nice app overall.

Shadow of it’s former self. This app had wasted my time, so I will in turn use some time to warn others. Unfortunately this app no longer delivers anything near the previous app. It is counter intuitive and convoluted. R.I.P. Flashcards+. The app also has a lot of bugs you can read about in the comments. But DO NOT FRET MY FRIENDS! Go download the Quizlet app, and in 20 minutes after a short learning curve, you will be so happy that you have switched to a much much better app for flash cards.

Can’t study missed flash cards only. I like the app but two things that really bother me- whenever I take a break from studying the flash cards, it doesn’t let me resume where I left off. 2- there are no other options but “study all flash cards” from each set. I’d like to have the option to study a small number of flashcards from ear set at a time, or at least let me study the ones that I didn’t get right. I make hundreds of flashcards at a time it makes it really hard to study them with this app. Please update, I have a major exam coming up soon and I was forced to leave study blue for this app.

Horrible App An Embarrassment for a serious company. I spent many years using the original app which was called Flashcards+. The old App did so much more and was elegant. Chegg forced everybody to switch to their version which more than likely they had to wait from scratch. It is a watered down version of the original Five Star App. I’ve been waiting for it to improve and give it a chance. They have been working on it for over year and a half and still can’t get it right (‘pretty embarrassing for a text book company promoting education). Does not support landscape, and it’s riddled with bugs. Today I decided to try their multiple choice feature and it doesn’t work on an iPad Pro with the latest iOS. You click the answer and nothing happens, can’t even advance to the next question. If I didn’t have a bunch of decks already, I would have switched to anything other than Chegg Prep

Lost decks. I’ve lost over a hundred flashcards since they forced the update. They’re just gone. Whatever attempted interest from Chegg at retrieving the lost cards has since passed. I, along with most other folks that used the previous version of Flashcards/prep, could make an extensive list of how the previous iteration was vastly superior. Instead of doing that, I’ll reduce it to one super confusing issue: no search feature? I enter a deck with 100+ cards and I can’t search within it. How and why?

Almost good. I just downloaded this app today and so far it’s been good but I think there is a bug. Whenever I try to add a picture to the flash cards, there is no camera roll option and all I can do is take a picture. If I save a picture from the internet, then it turns black.

This app is hot garbage. Still doesn’t have simple folder functions to organize cards. Tagging is a joke. No alternative quiz/studying options. Desync, trash servers, missing cards/decks. They use to have a great app now it’s this piece of trash. Now they’re buying out their competitors (who are way better) and merging it into this app. It’s been over 2 years and still not a single meaningful update. I might as well pay for quizlet unless you buy that too.

Please add a dark mode. Super awesome to have a dedicated flashcard app. I love making them on my PC at home and being able to study them anywhere with my iPad. That said, iPads have large screens and it would be nice to not have to burn my eyes every time I need to study. Please consider adding a dark mode to the app.

This isn’t an upgrade. Chegg must have lost the rights to the previous program. This replacement is so inferior and basic compared to Chegg Flashcards+ that they must be just starting out from scratch. They probably do have the rights to our previous cards. So they can import (some of ) them into the new program. There are other more mature products out there that are a much better choice than this app. None of them are as good as Chegg flashcards+. I would not waste my time begging Chegg to bring back the old app. There was a reason they killed it, and I am convinced that they were forced to by whoever owns the rights to that program. Otherwise, they would never have put out this app, especially being as basic an nonfunctional as it is. New update still doesn’t speak and isn’t compatible with landscape mode for iPad. I think I will stick with Quizlet

Good app. I really like this app it’s super simple to use and works great on my phone so I have my flash cards any where. I also like that it allows you to check off whether you knew the card or not. My only complaint is there isn’t a way to go back and review only the cards you marked as didn’t know. If they added that it’d be perfect

Ruined a great tool. I’ve been using study blue throughout nursing school and now the hundreds of hours I spent making notecards is gone. I lost most of my sets and none of them are organized in my classes anymore. I tried to organize the decks into classes but according to the app my school has no classes and we can’t even create a class anymore. I’m in my last semester of nursing school and I was suppose to be able to use all the decks I made over the year to study for the NCLEX but now I can’t. It is disappointing that you can’t even choose which cards you want to study anymore. The app is very lagging while studying so I decided to try the online website and it is even worse. You ruined an amazing tool that has helped me for many years.

Excited. Have been carrying my gosh cards around with me all weird and have not been too challenged, but with this app is all I need is my phone and it quizzes me! I would recommend to everyone who needs flash cards!

You will LOSE your flash cards!!!. Like others have said, I was using the older version and without any notification or warning was made to download this version and lost a recent deck I just made. Decided to download this version anyway and spent hours doing a new set of flash cards only to have it all ERASED when I went to other apps and came back to it later because of normal use (answering phone, checking text messages, etc...). The developers should feel ashamed that so many have reported this but have not fixed this problem. People have depended on this to help them learn things to pass tests or better themselves only to have all of that wasted. Seriously the developers should feel ashamed. If not, then I guess you are just soulless creatures who don’t care and this review doesn’t matter to you. But to everyone else, beware and maybe try another app unless you enjoy your hard work destroyed and taken away from you.

Lost Flashcards. I was forced to switch from the Flashcards app to Prep and lost most of my custom cards. I had a deck entitled “Words,” which contained around 330 definitions of interesting words I’d come across over the years. Any time I read or heard a new word, I’d look it up and manually add it to the list. These words were awesome and have contributed to increasing my vocabulary greatly. When I moved to Chegg Prep, only 98 words remained. I tried to chat on the Chegg website with a Chegg Support agent and it was absolutely worthless. I had to keep repeating myself and they didn’t seem to understand the problem. This is a big disappointment, as I spent years collecting those words and would quiz myself on them regularly.

Wow. Two steps back. As someone that used the previous flashcard app from Chegg, I can confirm what other reviewers have stated. This app is horrible and the other was a great learning tool. If they simply put the old app back it would be a marked improvement. Note that I’ve never written a review of an app before, so take this as constructive criticism. I don’t know if the founders family member designed this app and management was forced to deploy it. But this is a fail from a management position to not allow people a choice to keep the old app. It’s also a fail from a developer position as it lacks the rudimentary basics to be helpful. You can’t search well. You can’t rate these decks so people can not waste their time with all the decks with errors. Keep in mind these are student decks and mistakes are all over. Further when you review a deck it automatically is attached to your Home Screen and you have no ability to delete it from there. I could go on and on. The UI — facepalm... care about your potential customers and your brand and do what’s right to fix this. I think the previous app was licensed to Chegg and they didn’t renew. Well, you're really harming people’s ability to study by servering the partnership in such a fashion. Own up to it and recover from this disaster.

Switched out of old app without warning. Like a lot of us we lost our decks from the old app; I went on the app and there was no way to transfer unless you had an account linked. This app is also frustrating, too. The cancel button on the top left when creating a card is so unnecessary because I would type 5-10 cards in my deck and i would accidentally click it and lose them. Should honestly just have the save button and manually delete cards later to be safe

They know !!. Omg they are like the little spy who works on my behalf to make sure I score well. When you study these cards you will do well you don’t even have to read the chapters... questions I study here always show up in my exam... thank you Chegg prep

NEED FOLDERS. For people who have tons of decks it is really hard to organize it in the old flash card app you had we could have folders and then put decks in them. I loved that part and that’s why I didn’t use quizlet. I really want folders to organize better please! Other than that I love this app please update for folder usage!

Quite possibly the best flashcard app. This is quite possibly the best flashcard app out there and one of the easiest to use. Chegg has pretty much addressed and fixed all of the bugs and now this is a SOLID AND RELIABLE app that is a joy to use because of its simplicity and ease of use Five stars all the way and thank you for listening to our concerns
