Horrible user interface. First of all, the lack in ability to search for certain titles is pretty bad. Certain mangas are being advertised and aren’t available. Genres are pretty bad.

Thank you!!. I’ve always wanted to read Attack on Titan in English! Awesome interface too!

THE APP. I’m not one to go around saying apps are bad but this is just straight up a lie it said that unlimited anime…,and stuff but when I downloaded the app and I opened the first manga that showed up and it said “start free trial to read” I’m not here to give a terrible review just next one don’t says unlimited, free and stuff next time cause I was severely disappointed to see it wasn’t free all I’m saying is make it clear it’s not free next time.

yuh!!. it would been so much better if the mangas were organized in certain ways like having categories such as genres, what’s trending, etc so we can easily find what we’re looking for,, cuz honestly it’s a mess rn 😭

Waste of time. I bought this because one of my favorite was bought and will be only available on this web site. I don’t mind paying the $4.99 a month but on my iPad it only shows half the page. There is no way to adjust the picture and on my iPhone, it will not come up. Until they fix there problems do not waste your time 6/3/20 Update- most of the issues I complained about has been resolved. I am willing to subscribe and see if this is going to be the future for online manga.

Still needs work. I like the concept, I’m coming from mangazone cuz mangas are starting to get locked. There needs to be a search function otherwise having to find my series via scrolling thru genres is a huge turn off, the dark scheme of the app is a bit much combined with the layout of the images and what not, feels like I’m scrolling thru a news article app also. Hopefully there’s a search function so I can see if my fav mangas are available soon

Much better. The app is working great, I wish there was a search function though. Also, sometimes there is a lag when I’m downloading the chapter. But overall good design.

Slow, slow, buggy. I don’t normally write reviews for apps, but this one was surprisingly annoying. Every single action you take in it takes upwards of five seconds, with some of them not even having a visible indication of anything happening. An example of this is loading up a chapter, which takes like 10-20 seconds of staring at a black screen while on my fiber wifi. Additionally, weird elements of the UI are sticky; after I read all of the available chapters of a series, a bar showing the series will stick to the bottom of the screen and show up overtop all the other menus and get in the way. It has an x on it but it comes back when I change screens. I want to like this service but they have way too low of a quality bar for their app which kind of defeats the whole point.

Good legal option for manga but still needs more chapters. Finally a legal option to support Manga creators, however the chapters are lacking for each new series. Would love a function for release schedules to stay up to date. It has potential for growth.

Interface Needs Work. The concept of this app is cool, but it’s so difficult to browse. It would be much more useful if everything is sorted by either a menu by genre or sort by popularity. And add star ratings so users can rate manga and see the average rating. Also it would work better for a large list of titles if it was a list of just text titles, and then clicking on the title gives you the cover of volume 1 and a short blurb/summary. It would also be nice to see more info about each title, like author/artist and original demographic (shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei) and how many volumes (or chapters) it is, how many are available, and whether it’s still going or finished etc.

Good way to try out titles. The chapters available change as the publishers add and remove volumes etc. So in that way the app is different than I expected. It’s not a library where I can always read and reread the same volumes. It is, however, an excellent way to read a series before committing to a title. I’ve since added 3 titles to my physical purchase queue. My only complaint is that I often run out of things to read. On the bright side sometimes a title is dropped with various volumes instead of a single chapters so it evens out. Based on the current price of subscription, it seems worth the price. Especially since it has titles like Loving Yamada at lvl99 which is currently only available on this app.

I could finally open the app. I’m finally able to enter the app with the new update but it’s kinda difficult to find the titles, also it says that there’s a 30 day trial but I was charged right away 😕

Keeps Crashing. I can’t even open the app. After I downloaded it, it tried opening the app and it keeps crashing.

Needs better iPad support. I prefer to read my manga in landscape mode, using a two-page spread layout. It was be great if the app added this support, like the Shonen Jump app.

AMAZING!!!!. I’ve been waiting for soooo long to have awesome manga all in one place. The reader works really well and loving all the new content with no ads and super high quality experience! AMAZING!!!!

Broken app, needs update.. Can’t recommend it in its current state. It won’t let me read any of the comics, constantly asks me to subscribe and sign up (which I already did) and won’t open any books. Needs an update.

Confusing. The app is a bit confusing to me. It works well enough, but it really needs a better way to filter. I bought it solely to read Yamada-Kun at first but then decided to try other titles. But you have to pay for the app and then each volume? But only on some of them? And there is no search function in order to filter out the ones you have to pay additionally for and those you don’t. You also can’t filter for completed manga. It’s frustrating.

I can’t read any without paying. I’m very disappointed, the app said that you can read as much as you want but as soon as I try to read one it says that I have to pay to read it. It’s very misleading and just awful.

Pretty great way to read manga. App seems like a great way to read manga! Smooth experience, great to be able to save series and save your place. Only complaint is that the App Store screenshots show the Seven Deadly Sins manga, which doesn’t appear to actually be available in the app, and it was definitely a factor in my decision to subscribe! 😩

Can’t get past the buy coins screen. I just downloaded the app and I can’t get past the buy coins pop up. I would have purchased coins to buy the manga I want, but I couldn’t even do that. I press the buy coins button and nothing happens.

Not worth money yet. It’s still new so I’m not trying to be hard on it but in the state it’s in it’s really not worth subscribing. There is no search function and the one function they have to organize genres you like does not work correctly due to the materials not having the correct tags. As in they have there minor tags but not there main category ones. Also I was excited because I heard they made a deal with kodansha who has a ton of digital manga licenses but none of them were really on there except for seven deadly sins and even that didn’t have all the chapters available. The library is very limited and till it grows I just don’t think the service is ready to be used. I will be waiting and hopefully this service will become what it advertises in due time.

Lack of understand about how reading digital comics works. Do you guys use iPads at all? A few seconds of using this and I can clearly tell. It get worse when I use it for a full minute AND reading a manga page

Lagging and has bugs. I only came here to read a specific manga. They have a good selection and I’m excited to read some manga they offer. However the mañana I wanted to read is barely on chapter 4 when I was reading it in an app that was at chapter 30. That’s a bit disappointing. Also when reading another chapter it will not let me go to the next chapter. I click the next chapter and it reloads to the previous one. I tried closing the app and it did not work. I’ll try to restart my phone. So far not too happy with the app itself.

Broken. So when you open the app it lets me looks at titles, when i click on one it tells me I can get a 60 day free trial. I said why not, I was immediately set up to only get a 30 trial through the app store renewals, and the app itself just keep taking me to the billing page when I try to get access. Furthermore there’s no good search mechanic so see the contents is impossible with out looking up things my genre.

Cool but new. A lot of these reviews are pretty scathing but this is a fairly new app, it’s going to need to get tweaked a lot at first. Some things I notice is that there’s no search bar so I can’t search directly for a title, I have to get the genre tags right. As for the subscription thing, you still have to subscribe, you just don’t get charged for the first two months of service and you have to remember to cancel the subscription if it’s not a service you want to pay for. All in all pretty cool, looking forward to see what titles land on here

Generally Okay. As far as app functionality goes I would give the app 5-stars, where they loose points for me is consistency/transparency. For a paid subscription service I think they need to implement a sort of update system to let users know how often/ when to expect certain series updates (like Manga Plus) I’ve used this app since it launched and there are some series on there that have not been updated at all since their initial addition to the service. Or they have updates so inconsistently it’s a bit of a waste to pay each month for the service. Ex. I know a lot of people joined this app to read Loving Yamada at Lv999 but the chapters update very sporadically. Some months there’s no updates and others you’ll get 2 chapters a month. It’s a monthly series so you’d think a once a month update would be the basic release schedule, but the raws are on ch 66 while Mangamo has only uploaded to ch48, so I don’t really get why there isn’t at least 1 update a month when there’s so many chapters available. I would rather them focus on the titles that they already have and provide consistent updates instead of trying to provide every title they possibly can with updates happening once a year for some series.

Pages are a mess. I really wanted to like this app. I’m happy to pay for any platforms, like Mangamo, that consolidate a lot of manga and have easy readability. I paid for one month and counselor handle it anymore and had to cancel. I’ll give Mangamo two stars for having a pretty decent library, there’s definitely plenty of titles I would like to read. But what ruined it for me is that every single chapter I tried to read, the pages were out of order. Every single chapter. I don’t know if it’s an interface problem or genuinely the pages are available in the wrong order. It became very hard to read - I would fast forward to somewhere towards the end of the chapter to read the beginning of the chapter and then bounce around trying to figure out the correct order. It became very frustrating and impossible to read so I eventually just cancelled my membership.

Slightly better. No search bar, but good deal for price. Large selection of manga. Great quality

Need work. The interface looks nice, but don't advertise certain manga as being available and not have chapters to read (for example, Attack on Titan and Fire Force). Also, I already signed up for the free trial, but it still tells me to subscribe when I tap the Read button. I don’t know if it’s a bug, but I can’t read anything because of it. I’d enjoy this app much more if it worked, but as it stands now, it needs to iron out some bugs.

Horrible Interface. They’re going to have to do a massive change to how everyone looks. Give some suggestions, random groupings of manga, something. This just looks bland

Much improved, runs very smoothly now. When the app was first released there were some issues with manga losing very slowly, and delays while browsing. I’m happy to say that those issues seem fixed now. The app runs very smoothly, and still has the same sleek design as always. It also looks like a lot of new content has been added (whereas there were only a few chapters of each manga when the app first launched). All the improvements show that the developers have been working to improve the app, which is great to see. Pros: - Consistent improvements to the functionality and content of the app! -The UI looks very sleek, and navigation feels like common sense for a phone app - The “explore” section gives a lot of recommendations - The “browse” section lets you filter by genre - Save manga to your list and easily get back to them - Manga are fully translated to English - Lots of options (but only a few chapters of each, for now) - Manga descriptions, including author and publisher Cons: - Maybe add a search function No other cons for now. I’m looking forward to seeing where this app goes.

Needs to fix the subscription bug. App keeps telling me to subside even though I already am, making it really hard to read the next chapter without pretending to resubscribe every time

Solid service but off to a rough start. So the app doesn’t work that well. Everything takes forever to load and you never know if the app is working or stalling. In terms of offerings, it would be nice to see a release calendar. If they’re periodically adding new series and updating existing series, it’s impossible to know what comes out and when. I’m sure the app will be fixed in the coming months, but the service itself needs to be improved.

Could have been great. It’s a nice concept and has a bunch of titles I’ve never read before, but unfortunately even with a subscription you can’t read anything. Maybe after some patches the app with work and I’ll give it a higher rating, but for now it’s only getting a 1 star since it doesn’t work even if you do the free trial.

Great improvements!. The last update really fixed most my issues. There are a good amount of titles and a welcomed amount of variety. Right now I think is worth it.

ITS WORK NOW. Update! They fixed it! I do wish they would let users try their free trial again since it went to waste for me. This has a lot of potential though! I’m excited to see where it goes! This is an awesome concept and I’m looking forward to a working app. I’ll happily pay for a sub once they work through all the bugs. I just updated the app that said it fixed the Browse screen, but my browse screen is still black. It’s a very unusable app currently. I’ll patiently wait while they work through all the bugs because I want this to succeed!

Legal way to support creators. I’m giving this 5 stars solely for the reason clueless people are complaining that they have to pay while other (mostly illegal ones) are free. Of course, it will be better to have few more up to date chapters for some series but still worth the subscription fees for the currently available one and you can subscribe on and off to read some titles and come back when more series got updated. This service has potential and hope to see the database grow more later on.

Stop leeching off Japan and make a quality app. Terrible execution Lack of personalized reading settings Very small collection definitely not worth the subscription.

I like it. It’s a smooth app but it seems like there are missing chapters on old manga like fairy tail, not sure if they’re slowly being updated

Fatal Flaw. I can’t read any of the manga on the app. Every time I try, I get a pop up asking me to subscribe, but I’ve already subscribed! Even after iOS has verified the subscriptions, the pop-up doesn’t clear. Hopefully this is something the devs can correct.

The best manga reader. It’s worth paying a little and not using the illegal apps.

Would love a release schedule function.. The app functions fine on my iPhone XS Max. The number of titles in the catalog is decent, but the amount of chapters available for each of them is lacking. Of course, some series are relatively new, so they wouldn’t have many chapters to begin with, but it’s hard to tell which ones are receiving new chapters. I wish there was a release schedule included for series that Mangamo is updating regularly. Like how the SJ App says “New Chapter in 7 days...” That way, I know which newer series are worthwhile to start reading on here, cuz I’m not expecting them to get all of Attack on Titan for instance. So I’m not gonna start it and hold out for one day when Kodansha let’s them have more... I’d like to follow the titles they’re simulpublishing. these regularly updated series on Mangamo should be better marked. Like how Netflix has their logo on their originals. Just another indicator that tells readers, “hey, come back to these series cuz we’ll be providing new chapters regularly.” It just reinforces the whole “release schedule” thing. Other than that, good up. Looking forward to seeing it grow.

Why one star?. Well to start out, if most manga apps required you to pay the fact that you have to pay for a membership after the trial, but most do not require you to pay. Therefore this app should not require you to pay unless it’s for getting chapters early, not having access to the manga. I’m basing it off of very little but that amount is major when it comes to these things, especially when the competition is free.

I quite like it, but it needs a few things.. Mangamo has a great selection for the price. The quality was great as was the localization. It gets 4 stars for a few reasons. The aspect ratio cuts off some of the page on my iPad, a custom zoom option would fix this. There is also no full search option that I could find. For two page spreads, I like to read in landscape, there isn’t an option for this, but that is a personal preference. I had a good experience other than those few things, if they fix those, I would gladly give it 5 stars.

Don’t even try it. If you don’t want to pay than don’t try it. The concept reading manga on you phone is good but if you have to pay to read than nah

Needs a lot of work. Currently, any action you take in the app may or may not work. Sometimes it will load after a few minutes, and sometimes it will just sit and load. The Manga on their front page isn’t all featured in their browse menu, at least one manga is badly framed (with sentences cut off on the top and bottom on many pages, one is out of order (chapters 1, 3, 2). These are the issues I’ve found when the thing works at all. I’m still subbed for now due to the free trial, but if the issues aren’t fixed before the trial period is up, they won’t be getting my money.

its good. its pretty good, although the reader is way too sensitive to touch and it keeps zooming in and making the menu pop out with me barely touching it

Finally a Manga App. Finally there is an app with good manga in English. It was a little slow at first but I am watching it all the time now. A lot of good Manga with good translation. Keep it coming.

No One Piece???. I got this app just to read One Piece. Now I get some times you can’t get the manga on it but it would be better if it had One Piece. Other than that I think the app is pretty cool.

Incredible service. Large, growing library of well known and lesser known serializations. Very high quality images, perfect localization, sleek UI. Get this. Support the industry.

It’s nice but it’s not my cup of tea. As I scrolled to see the mama available on this app I noticed a few things. One of them is that they didn’t have much manga for my favourite genre. That’s the main reason as to why I gave it three stars. Other than that you can find other really good manga on it! So I suggest you try it just to check if you enjoy the manga available!

Almost. Barely any mangas I like

no good manga. literally just hen… you know what, i downloaded it for good manga like jojo’s but has non of that

Doesn’t open, no response from team. App doesn’t even open for me. Did everything to try and get it working and it doesn’t. Website hasn’t responded and it’s been a week or so now

Needs Work. Only has the first volume of most series. The biggest problem is the chapters are displayed out of order when reading. There’s no search feature for titles either, only by category. Two stars because it’s marginally better than an Amazon preview.

You have to pay to read. I hate this you have to pay to read I’ll just use an other app instead that’s just an EA version of this manga

Do not download if you have inapp purchases disabled. The app will pop up an error message that will immediately reappear if you press ok and you’re unable to return to other ios apps, effectively locking you into an error message loop.

Great app. I am happy I can read various Japanese manga with good translation on this app. Also I am glad to show my respect to the manga authors by using this legal service.

Trying it out. They have a lot of manga on here but some I have never heard of. A few of them are good, worth a try. I’m on the free trial and will stay on if they can adding chapters for the good titles. Pretty nice user nav too.

Amazing value. I was looking for the manga app with lots of new manga from Asia. And this is what I found! Not just the famous title such as attack on titan but they’ve got some really cool manga. I do see people complaint about the function of the app, but they are consistently updating and I can see them trying. If you are going to McDonald’s regularly like me and ordering a set menu, why don’t just pay 5 bucks for manga.¿ think about it, one book of manga freakin cost 11 bucks or more.... it’s a good deal

Bad rating m, no search bar. Why can I not search. I must be missing the option because I’ve never heard of an official manga app without a search bar

Search Bar. So far it looks good I haven’t really gotten the chance t read anything my problem is that there is no search button I originally wanted this for one manga but I can’t find it so a little annoying.

Lack of Updates. 2/5 strictly for how well dark mode works on the app. Lack of a search bar, disappointing. Secondly; lack of updates with various series. If this is a subscription service- the least can do is update regularly. I refuse to pay a subscription for a manga that doesn’t update regularly. Some of these mangas have a decent amount of chapters; but app only has 5 or less chapters. I checked frequently for updates but nothing. Not worth it in its current state.

For a fool. Forget i even tried this

It’s fixed and better!. They’ve made improvements and not bad of an app reader for manga you typically can’t find.

Uh don’t download. Yep I cannot even read any books I WANNA READ BUT I CANT BEACAUSE I NEED STUPID 30 FREE TRIAL this sucks don’t download Please fix this I WANNA READ

GoGo Mangamo. Finally a cool manga app that has the functionality I’ve been wanting and more titles are to be added. GoGo Mangamo!!

Black screen of death?. Clicking on anything brings up a blank black screen. A free trial doesn’t do any good if I can’t actually read anything.

Same issues as other reviews. Pretty much nothing works.

Good idea but.... When that app crashes as soon it opens is not a good start at all.

Just wow. What a terrible interface and broken app

Updated Mangamo review. 🎉🎉🎉They finally added a search bar after 5 months of requesting it!! Now they just need to make an Android app and list all of the series on their website. People are leaving bad reviews because the series info is not publicly available on the official website. The reading experience is smooth, although I wish that the chapter list would have the upload date at least on iPad version, similar to how Lezhin Comics does it. Another thing to add to the chapter list is to add the option to reverse the chapter list order (for example, currently if you want to read a certain chapter at the beginning, you have to scroll through 10-300 chapters since they're only listed in reverse order). I think the best part about the app is that there are tons of Kodansha Comics series available where you can start reading a couple chapters to entire volumes of the legal English version. They also have tons of series from GANMA (web manga) and one of my favorites is I Wanna Be Your Girl (LGBT+ high school manga about a trans girl and her childhood friend who has a crush on her). ✌️The app 5 months later is a decent app, but this is what it would've been at launch. I hope any other legal manga app developers and companies learn from this mistake because it would be really sad if this venture died like JManga from yesteryear. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fix it. I subscribed but it won’t let me read!!

Crashes. Couldn’t even fully start the app, just crashes after opened.
