Great (Addictive) Game!. When I started off and noticed how many different “classes” there were I was a bit skeptical and assumed it would be the same strategy for each and simply scaling the difficulty up. After beating Rogue fairly quickly and Warrior with a bit of work and then losing time and again on Assassin I found that a new strategy was definitely needed. Loved how each class becomes a puzzle to figure out how to use your items and abilities, and some luck, to progress. Very well balanced and thought out, not every play is winnable, without paying, but I beat all classes without spending a dollar, eventually. Came down to the wire with ring bearer as I had 2 hp left and 1 swing left before weapon broke. Took down the giant as my last weapon shattered with nothing else in reserve, very satisfying way to beat the game! Congrats developers and thanks for a fun game!

I’d collaborate with this genius. This game is freakishly hard out the box. Easy mode is an all out masochistic information grind just to learn how the game even works, followed by and ending that promises to end your I’ll planned dreams before they can even be realized. However. If you keep coming back, you get further each time. You learn more. You must fight the urge to spam through the “early game” of the run thinking you’ve seen all this before. You have. And it will still kill you if you spam the continue button. You have to try. Hard. Every time. This is genius. You can visualize every fight. The dragon is actually terrifying. And permadeath makes the game a rare achievement, it’s real. This game affords me the opportunity to play a game, learn, lose, and be satisfied with the experience: all in a single run. To try again after a good run is almost too much. I have to put it down, and wait. Go do something else. Recoup. And when My mind is ready, try again. Finally, this game achieves all this holy goodness while remaining a free to play game, that taxes whiny reset addicts. As a gamer, I love hate this game so hard. I WILL beat this game. Eventually. As a life long developer, I appreciate this game on so many levels it’s impossible to sum up in a review. I would be honored to talk design with this genius any time. Thank you for this game and for your time, -TimOthy

Amazing Game. The randomness is truly random and permadeath means permadeath. With this the creators made a game of the perfect length so that with every life you are really putting something in, but when you die it doesn’t feel like you will have to spend an infinity grinding away. The difficulty system where you unlock one then the next is really well balanced in a way that every time you start on a difficulty it feels just as hard as difficulties before so that the game never gets too easy. The difficulty is also only changed more by making things different like starting by giving you à healing ability then a damage buff ability then a stealth ability so that every difficulty is the same but with different play styles which are hard than the ones before. The reading is also interesting while not so long you get board, and you aren’t always forced to read every detail. This game is a true gem and I love it very much.

Impressive, most impressive. This game already stood out from other random text-based adventure games. I got it, and it was pretty decent, straightforward, and a little witty. As soon as I got to the normal difficulty, I lost. I was mad at first, but then I realized that this is just part of playing a game: you need to learn from your mistakes. I also thought it got repetitive in its sequencing of the path, but that is simply part of the fun. You use your previous knowledge of the other runs through the path to decide if you want to take certain risks, and fun concept that is fairly unique. It is a fun game to play in my free time, though I do think you don’t receive enough elixir of growth no matter how hard you try to attain it. It is a neat little game, and as Darth Vader would say: “Impressive, most impressive.”

Honestly an amazing game, refreshing.. I love it. It gets tough, and it’s really REALLY painful when you reach 50/50 then die BUT that’s what make it so amazing. It’s not a modern game where you go back to the last checkpoint. When you die, you die. It makes your choices that much more impactful. You actually have a reason to make decisions and not just run around slashing away. The story is solid, the gear is definitely OP if stacked correctly and the loot is fair. This is by far one of the most balanced games I’ve played in a long time. On that note... To the Devs: Only thing I’d LOVE to see, endless mode. I know that’s a lot of work and kinda tough to scale mobs but one thing that’s really disappointing is getting all this loot and starting over from nothing... even though I won. The fact that winning & losing results in the same outcome, starting over with nothing, is a bit tough to deal with. So if you had an endless mode where I could advance infinitely gathering my favorite gear (insert mouthwatering image here). Not only that but deciding which stats to pump into would be awesome! I’d love to see nat defense at 10 or other other stats way up there. To everyone interested, definitely play this game. To the team, thank you for making such a solid game! I would definitely pay extra for endless mode & whatever else you come up with! PLEASE CONSIDER IT!

Hard to master easy to play. This is the first kind of quick text based quest game ive ever played. Been through several of the lifeline games and a couple other dnd style one but this ones a little different. A) theres no check points so when you die you die, but each run through after the first 5 or so gets increasingly more diverse. So theres that to look forward too. And B) the “stages” so to speak of each play through are super predictable. You get your first trash weapons kill a big rat or slime monster and then enter a dungeon (if you so choose) etc. without spoilers just understand your going to do the same thing over and over. So either pay the 99 cents and continue or get used to that fly swatter. A note to the devs: possible updates with new weapons and items? Maybe more than 3 possible bosses? Maybe a “purchase all/some” of the further levels. This game is good but it needs more.

Gameplay. One of the best pocket dnd one shot campaign games I’ve seen in awhile,, perhaps ever. The game is also actually tough to get through! Prepare for a challenge, prepare to win some and lose some, and prepare Yourself with the best weapons possible; and to keep those special ones maintained! Alas, also prepare for encounters to become redundant. After only playing a few runs of a campaign, you really start to get the sense of it pretty much being scripted; same scenes over and over. I’d like to ask for more versatility in the campaigns: maybe something like a certain treasure, or NPC(s) that only comes by in x amount of runs. Or maybe also an optional campaign(s) for permanent change to timelines/storylines upon death (curse, evil doings, just doings, etc. as well.) and have to continue as next of kin or friend in arms; with some differences. That would then change how the stories continue, making them more unpredictable. And maybe even some computerized dice rolling events to win/lose in gambles, barters, and such! All in all, I’m still going to play this game. I’m nowhere near done with all the campaigns, so expect this game to be good for time killing. Hope this helps!

Really fun. So, it’s a really fun game, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes choose your own adventure books. There are a few things that could be changed to make it better though. 1st: Rogue difficulty is, in my opinion, a bit too hard. I keep getting to the wizard fight, and then he has so much defense that I can’t even deal damage. 2nd: There could definitely be a bit more diversity in The dungeons. Pretty much the same things happen in each dungeon, and it can get kinda old. Like, maybe add a few more possibilities for different circumstances. 3rd: Maybe add some more monster types with special abilities or effects, and fix the descriptions of the current monsters. What I mean by that is, it will say something like”and the goblin flies towards you” Because it just replaces the (monster) with another (monster). 4th: Please remove the old man scene. A man walks up to you and says something like” keep your gold in a safe place” then he shows you a handful of gold and pubic hair. Why is this in the game? It’s not even funny. 5th: When you try to cross a river, you like always lose something, and as far as ive seen, there is no option to buy a raft or anything. But, still a great game, 4 and a half stars from me.

Great offline game/fair. I don’t know if the loot is very FAIR or if it’s just my luck, because it seems that some games almost every weapon I get is enchanted and some other games every single weapon I find is cursed. Apart from that the game is actually surprisingly great. I gave it 4 stars because of the fact that no matter how low or high your chances may be (say 50% chance of your attack hitting) it always seems like the chances are absolutely misleading, I played against an enemy with a 50% chance of hitting it, and I died hitting it with a total of 1/5 strikes landing. I honestly don’t know if I’m just that unlucky but it isn’t the first time a ridiculous chance happened like this, I have a 25% dodge chance, and I’ll dodge something the first time only with the rest never having me dodge, a 75% chance of hitting the final boss and I kid you not, I died hitting a total of 1/6 shots, kind of crazy, right? I would like to know if these chances are natural (like the cursed weapons being almost every weapon I pick up) or if I’m really just that unlucky, or if it’s a glitch. I’ll continue to play the game because of how fun it is, and I like to laugh at the fact that it seems no matter the chances, you will be able to hit and dodge, and the same would go for the enemy. Just my opinion but I gave it 4 stars specifically because every single chest I find has a cursed weapon…

Could’ve been better.. I downloaded this game going through a tutorial just to be stuck doing the same exact adventure over and over again. after the tutorial, there was an easy path for an adventure; you start from scratch each time, and well, if you die you die. some people like this type of game mechanic, however, if i've played this same level with no progression whatsoever then the game would give me pointers on my decision making right? wrong. i love the idea of this game, the tutorial, and the descriptions within the writing of the game, however from any new players perspective it’s repetitive. i am often faced with the final boss battle and lose each and every time just to get told to pay for a resurrection. what happens in the game is often repetitive as well, i read the same things each time hoping for my expedition to succeed. it really feels like a play to win game. nonetheless, many items in the game are mentioned but each time i wonder if an item is worth it because i have no clue what it is. i literally stop playing the game to google what decision i should make if the item is really necessary. this game overall has lack of direction, is extremely difficult for beginning players, and is repetitive. it doesn’t act free to play, and the game mechanics are hard to adapt to as a beginner.

I hope there’s more content in the future. So picture this. In the first difficulty, it’s me against the final boss and my last weapon is almost broken but my diamond shield is in good shape. The boss has like 20 health left and I have like 10. Luckily, I managed to enough spells in time for him to only hit for like 1-3 damage every turn. So when my weapon broke was down to 10 health and I was down to I think 7 health because of luck. SO I PUNCHED THE FINAL BOSS TO DEATH WITH LIKE 2 HEALTH LEFT! It definitely was a memorable moment for me, and that was just the first difficulty. The game is good and has some comedic moments that don’t make the game a drag to read through. I like the replay ability in the game and so far I haven’t been bored yet. However, looking at the game right now, I can tell that there’s a lot of repetitive situations that occur Obviously the game is a little new, so I’ll get it slide, but for the future of the game, I hope they add more content like new situations or even a new story. The game doesn’t have to change that much, but new items and new storylines would definitely make game have a lot more replay-ability. So it’s a good game right now and I’m still having fun with it, but personally I’m afraid that I will get bored of this game sooner than I’d like

Uninstalled. The "easy" level has taken me many many tries. I have not been able to complete the easy level. This game funnels me into a corner and I die only to be presented with an option of "resurrection" or "undo" both paid options. I did get 5 free undos on installing. I am currently around 10 tries on easy mode. I was geared with some hefty weapons and even had the diamond shield at the end. I found the easy boss to be too difficult, the diamond shield broke way too easily and this game has become just a large investment of my time as I'm refusing to pay just to win the game. Very dissatisfied. Edit: after 32(approximately) tries the "easy" level has still not been completed. This is a straight forward game. Not much skill involved but when it looks like you're gonna win the game starts becoming exponentially difficult, forcing you into a very tight situation and the enemy dodges the majority of the attacks and might lead to the destruction of you gear from continued use. This isn't just an angry review from someone who doesn't know how to play the game. I've given it plenty of tries but it's just designed to be difficult and challenging. I did not share the experiences of those 5 star reviewers. Unfortunately I uninstalled. Disclaimer: This review is not intended to discourage anyone from trying the game themselves. This is my own opinion and individual results may be different from my own. Edited for objectivity.

Difficult but so rewarding. Path of adventure is a great text style gaming experience. Where you pick and choose your paths and are rewarded for being prepared and planning ahead. You really get a sense of the world you are in as your play through the different difficulties/stories. Which you probably won’t be able to get through in one go. It could take you days to just pass the rogue level, especially as you get used to the mechanics. The only in app purchase I have seen is to resurrect yourself for 1$. But, that’s not something you have to do if you get good. Overall a great game to pass the time to and fun to think about how your next run will go and if you can beat the Castle of Doom!

RNG: The Game. Pretty good game but skill has very little to do with it. Using just skill you will never win. You can get far in the game with practice but you won’t get anywhere without the correct items at the correct time. There’s not many ways to purposefully attain the right items either you just have to hope the path you’re going on that day gives you all the weapons/spells/items you need and gives you the right boss to the bills you’ve been given. Way too random and chance based but it is still pretty fun if you don’t take it seriously. It is a free game after all and any given round doesn’t take too much time. I appreciate the fact that there are no ads but the payment options are rediculous. I would be happy to pay a couple dollars once and always have a few redo buttons each path. $1 for a respawn is worthless since once you revive you’re in the same unworkable scenario as before. Idk if this game could be balanced and still be the same game but for what it is and what it has grown to be, 3/5 stars.

Solid game but…. It’s a very solid game that kept me enthralled until I had to beat the game as the assassin… the assassin has no starting armor (easily the best stat in the game) making fights much more heavily based on luck. Armor is the only stat that guarantees pay off so there isn’t any reason to build any other stat… speed does not give a high enough dodge chance to warrant building it, not to mention you only are able to dodge attacks if you attack with your fist, and there’s no reason to build attack since you can gain attack through better weapons. That leaves health and armor. Health is helpful since it gives health potions and grow potions a bigger heal (since they both heal back to full HP). Armor is the best since, if you have enough of it, you cannot be damaged.

It’s a great game, and here’s why:. I am absolutely addicted to this game. It draws from the imaginative side of the brain in such a way that one can picture the world in their mind based off of the text provided. This game is not for the faint hearted. I have played the easy level on multiple occasions only to fail frequently around level 34/50 and only a few times have I actually reached level 47+/50. On the most recent trial, I got as far as 50/50, but died upon seeing the hydra on the ~2nd round. Which leads me to another thing I enjoy about this game, the storyline loosely changes every time you play it (based on your decisions and on the form of the game). This game has many ways to gain information on how to improve your own approach to the game within the story structure, but you have to be willing to apply it (unlike me 😅). I think this game has a valuable lesson, that being failure helps to get you further the next round by learning/avoiding unnecessary problems and planning for solutions. In conclusion, get the game and decide wether you can preserve enough to keep playing it.

Quite a nice surprise!. I played through the first difficulty level. It was a lot of fun. I’m on the second one now and the difficulty increase is very apparent. Not sure how I will Make it through the next two, but I’m up to the challenge. Overall, it’s a great game. I’ve been looking for games I can play one-handed. So many are only in landscape mode, and that doesn’t work for me. I had a lot of fun playing it, but I only have one complaint: I wish there was more. There really does need to be more content for this game. It is free though, so I’m not gonna complain too much. I would gladly pay real money for more content. I refuse to pay for revives in these type of games. Just charge me up front PLEASE! . So far, spells seem very underpowered, but that could be because the Two players are not mage characters. There is no music, but that really doesn’t seem to matter with this type of game. It may actually be a good thing.

Great game, but frustrates to no end. Love the game, just wish I could actually get anything done in it. The difficulty descriptions aren’t accurate at all. It already took a good amount of attempts to beat rogue, and that’s “easy”. I have yet to beat warrior, because every time I come back to this game I play it for hours straight and fail every time. I’ve easily played warrior more than 20 times at this point, and only ever made it to the castle once or twice. I always stop playing and leave the game alone for a while because I get way too frustrated after I have a near perfect run that quickly goes downhill and I die out of nowhere. Please, I’ve even looked online for guides and it doesn’t work. Please make this game easier, or give it a new easier mode with no end, cause I really wanna experience all the content you have to offer.

Challenging and Fun. Well, first off, this makes me think of some older games that were less forgiving in deaths of the PC. If you die, you die. The better part about this, is the game is not a multi-hour game (at least the ones I’ve played), so it’s not like I lose multiple hours of my life getting back to where I was. Additionally, the first few adventures are really fun because you have no clue what you might encounter (there gets to be similar encounters with certain risks you can evaluate better later on). It’s a challenge, and each journey has different items and enemies you can encounter making each adventure it’s own. I do wish that there was more to the end than just a high score. Because sometimes you get a character who just loaded up on some stats and that’s always fun

Fun and complex for all of its simplicity. Simple interface, simple concepts, but a decent amount of strategy. Good challenge from the beginning that progresses clearly. Working on the thief now. Edit: finally passed thief, my record on ring bearer is 33/50, still working on that. I love the challenge of making a winning strategy and finding out what is really important for each level. I have a feature request. On ring bearer my primary cause of death is moving on the path with no other enemies or poison. On all levels of the game, if you are on the path or in a dungeon but not fighting, and eating a mushroom would kill you, you’re not allowed to do it. Is there some way to get a warning that you’re going to die and should go ahead and eat that monster part? If dying due to muscle memory gained from all the previous classes is part of the intent, that’s fine I guess but a bit rough for an already extreme challenge. But either way, still a 5 star game.

Good game. This is a fun game, though it’s a little RNG dependent in what Items you get, that mostly changes how you play your game, which is almost always fun to do, because the encounters are also random, but you can expect 1 of 2 or 3 types of mobs, depending on where you choose to risk encounters, which lets you prepare a bit beforehand. Overall, this game is fun, and I would highly recommend it, and it has high replay ability, because of the random generation of each run. Edit: this is a message to the dev/s, I just want to know what state development is in, like has it stopped, or is there stuff that’s just taken a couple years to accomplish, or have you been busy, I just want to know as a player who loves this game.

Incredible Text-Based RPG. First, some minor negatives to get them out of the way: It’s sometimes a little luck-focused (that 150 gem goal in particular, since you either ignore early shops before knowing the Crystal Cave condition, or just hope to make up what your missing), but it’s often possible to make up for actual mistakes. Also, sometimes the scrolling jumps to fit all your options when you tap, which can lead to mis-selection (and feels unfair to have to use an “undo” for). Those are the only parts that feel too out of the player’s control and could ruin a run. I would definitely appreciate characters or unlockables, possibly even through IAP to support the developer (currently there are only “undos” and “revives” which both feel a bit like cheating in this kind of game (though I support their inclusion for anyone who wants to use them)). Thanks for making a great game; aside from the scrolling issue it’s definitely the best text RPG I’ve played on my phone, and a well designed rogue-like in general.

This is the game you’re looking for. This game is a text-based fantasy rogue-like. It has a very particular format it follows that’s easy to catch on to after a couple of runs. This game is very difficult. It’s about 75% planning and 25% luck. It has no MTX save for one. You can pay .99 cents to undo a death. The game has multiple difficulties but you can’t move up until you beat the previous difficulty. You shouldn’t use the resurrect option unless you’ve been stuck on a certain difficulty for MANY attempts AND you are very close to winning. Either way, it’s free, and worth a shot at least. REALLY great for burning time on a road trip, because you’ll spend hours trying to problem-solve your way out of each difficulty. I’m stuck on the third (assassin) difficulty as I write this.

Easy not Easy. I’ve unlocked up to Assassin level by sheer luck, apparently. I went back to play the “Easy” rogue level and still die over a dozen times before making it through successfully. In my opinion, the “Easy” Rogue level is too hard. I got every piece of unique gear and held on to every enchanted weapon and sold everything that was redundant (e.g. I don’t need Sesame Spell with a Lock Picking Knife in hand) but the dragon still kills me by the second appearance even with the Flail and the Marble Shield and 4 Defense, 3 Attack, and 4 Speed (+2 for Dodge). I want to recommend this to a kid who is starting into DnD but I can’t recommend for the disappointment of constantly dying on “Easy”. There’s plenty of time for death in higher levels, no?!?

Great game. This game is fun for a while, but all progress feels too temporary. I got 7 defense, rings of life, brawn, and wealth, dwarf armor, a spiked goblin collar, and full enchanted weapons. I killed the dragon in four hits, and lost it all. I would love if there was some way to keep that gear. I would love an endless mode, but seeing as everyone says that, I have another idea:gold. Once you finish your game, the game could sell all of your stuff, and then all of your treasure could be converted to gold, a premium currency that could buy in-game upgrades, like better starting loot. That way, you could benefit from doing better in-game, but you wouldn’t need to add enough content for an extended campaign. Another idea would be a ‘hero mode’ where, upon finishing your story, you could access an online server. I imagine a bunch of people getting together and trying to beat a campaign to fight a really hard boss, but pvp would be fun. I just really love the idea of people who have really good loot like I did working together on a ‘save the world’ style quest, not just an adventure. This way, those who contribute to that multiplayer quest the most could get access to exclusive items to encourage people to take risks to excel, not just do the minimum to beat the game.

Hidden treasure. Proof that retro gaming done right is still the best. With no graphics and no updates in 4 years, this is an incredible game nevertheless. Why? Its WELL DESIGNED! It is funny, fast, challenging and just amazingly balanced. You can see the thought and work and just historical experience that went into the resource management and game play. Enjoyed the many easter eggs from classic games, and the universe of 80s D&D and text adventures brought to life brilliantly. Even when Im getting killed (constantly), I am coming back for more. There is a lot to master. I downloaded this a week ago and truly cant stop playing. Its an instant classic for years or decades to come. Would love to see an interview with the designer to be honest.

All Hail the RNG. There’s something both extremely stressful and extremely relaxing about having each run be randomized to the point of you could be set up to never succeed, or there’s one that’s a golden opportunity run and you feel like you’re doing good until you hit that final boss and realize that you were an idiot and put too much of your Growth into the stat. There’ve been runs where I never ever ran across a shield, or all the wizard and spell boosting items only to have the sesame spell. Overall it’s a fun game if you aren’t trying to take things too seriously and just there to be at the mercy of the randomness and don’t mind a million and one failures for that one success.

I wish the deaths were earned. (disclaimer, I’ve only played a couple run-throughs) Here’s what I mean by earn deaths, I don’t feel like I’m dying by my decisions, I feel like I’m dying from the random number generator. First run through I was poisoned on day 3, and was unable to find any antidote or healing until day 17. Well at that point I’m pretty much already dead, and turn off my last bit of health was taken the next day in a boss fight I was obviously not prepared for. Second run through I was doing great until day 30 where I died in another boss fight because I missed 4/4 attacks that were a 57% hit chance. Cool. I hear a lot of people saying this game is difficult, but I feel like that’s kind of a misnomer.. It’s difficult in the same way solitaire is difficult: sometimes it just can’t be done, but that’s not really on you, that’s just on the luck of the draw. I enjoy difficult game when I feel like I can control it, but this is more like flip a coin and guess the results bunch, and try not to get poisoned.

Good, but repetitive. It’s an enjoyable game to play when you’re bored or feeling up for a challenge, and trust me it’s a challenge. I’ve only just started the Assassin character and it’s enrapturing as ever. The major issue I’ve encountered is that it gets too repetitive, even though each time you play through it you do experience the events in a different order. I wish that there was a bigger pool of unique items so that I don’t keep getting the same items each play through. I do like the games mechanics and the pace it sets, as you get good at recognizing the text you can react faster and play through it faster in your spare time. I do also wish that we could get a free redo everyday for that specific day or maybe a few extra just so that you can feel less pressure after loosing right at the final boss or at a point you know you can win if you just made one different move. All in all, it’s a decent game and is worth trying out.

Fun game. This is a good adventure type rogue-like game that can be played in quick runs. I have only been able to win in the easy mode once but have gotten very close to winning in the next harder mode. As with all games of this type luck plays quite a factor but you learn quickly that certain items should always be grabbed when available such as sharpening stones as they can save you when you have a long stretch with no new weapons or armor and you do not have an empty weapon/armor slot. Don’t be afraid to sell certain items other than breaking items to the merchant if you think that you will not be able to use them. With the money gained you can get items that better support your run. When you fail as you will many times it is nice to see that there is virtually no delay in starting another run afterwards. Touch screen controls are nice and responsive. One thing I would like to see is something like a top 5 best runs you have done for each mode and for winning runs which items and levels you had when you won. There is some repetition in starting out that is probably unavoidable due to the need to not give you overpowered items at the start. Perhaps an endless mode after all modes have been won at least once to see how far you can survive?

Great game!. My wife and I both love the game! It’s really awesome and we both keep coming back to it after the frustration of dying to the boss fades. 😂 Some things we would love to see (though it wouldn’t make the game any worse if they aren’t implemented) are: 1. Some line of text, perhaps in the character screen, that tells you the boss you’re facing in the castle. It could show up once you find out. This would be super helpful because my wife and I both pick up and put down the game many times in an adventure, and we usually forget what boss it is by the time we get there so we don’t know how to prepare for the castle. 2. Maybe some kind of bonus when you start if you’ve made it to the castle but died. We were thinking of a slightly better starting weapon, an additional item, or a little extra starting gold. 3. It would be cool to see a record of the past ten attempts. This could be across all difficulties or it could be for each difficulty. Info like distance on the path that you got to, stats, maybe even monsters killed or experience gained. All in all, we love the game! Thanks for it! Keep up the good work 😁

The gag of the game is that it spits in your face constantly. There isn’t once where I had a genuine good time in this some how a man made out of stone with zero speed stat blinded smoke can dodge at a consistent rate second the way they monetize the game is terrible and genuinely not good if your going to make rogue like don’t make it pay 2 win second the game has no skill requirements it’s nearly all rng there’s no bull crap YoU nEEdd To UndErSTand ThE gAME BeTtER as the developers put it as game is simple as can be speed determines dodge chance which is obviously lower than the stated percentage as previously mentioned a blinded 0 speed stone man was able to dodge consistently while you can’t dodge consistently even with 60% chance you can increase attack your defense and your health this game that claims to be hard is nothing but pay 2 win and RNG make this game better please

Pretty awesome for a text base game. I have never played a text based game before. Until now!! This game is VERY hard at the start, the tutorial teaches you the basics, but not much of the strategy that goes into the game. Playing enough to beat the “Rogue” adventure, I picked up a bunch of knowledge along the way. Be it from trial and error, or from interacting with the NPCs in the game and reading every bit of what they have to say. It is a text based game, nothing really interesting to look at. But the story is always a trip and finally getting to the castle at the end of the adventure means you are SO close to beating it. It keeps me coming back to try new techniques or strategies that I learned from the last run. 5/5 very fun. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Dungeons and Dragons!

Repetitive. Tough. Yet satisfying.. It is not a game for the faint of heart. You will fail many times, you will be so close. Unfortunately falling very far. My first victory was a picture finish against the dragon. In my opinion the scariest of the two of three final bosses. At least in the time I’ve noticed in my short time and experienced. I wouldn’t recommend this game if constant failure stops you, or if said person has no interest in learning from there mistakes. If you are just starting I recommend remembering items that have as many uses as a flame sword or lockpick dagger. Also not to ignore the wizard items IF they get multiple of them. Do not be afraid to sell equipment you don’t think you need. Stock up on healing potions, and keep an antidote on you. I bid you good luck, the path of adventure. As you accept your quest to begin the heroes journey.

Fun and interesting throwback, but you cannot beat it without paying money. You can play and, with a very great amount of luck, get right to the end of the first (Rogue) level, but you cannot beat it. You never have enough equipment, enough items, enough skills to overcome the slew of beasts at the end (approx day 48). The game says it’s designed to be beaten without paying, but after about 30 attempts, I don’t believe it. The equipment you get is all pure luck, and the skills you build cannot be retained for the next time… start over naked and untrained every time, hoping to get the right combination of stuff to get near the end… but never enough to get through it. Fun for a while, interesting throwback to pen and paper a, but not long lasting since you cannot get through it.

Cool, but has some problems. So i do really like this game, I think the idea of having different difficulty settings being different classes was innovative. And being made by one guy it’s even more awesome. Problem is, and I’m not the only one running into this, whatever randomizer program this game uses must be a little out of whack. And I know I may get the “that’s how randomness works” thing. And I understand, through sheer luck I’ve won several difficulties, including mage. But when you miss three times in a row, with seventy five percent hit chance, multiple times?! Seriously. I actually did the math and the odds of missing thrice with that stat (let alone in multiple games) is 15,625 to one. Now I don’t know maybe I’m just THAT unlucky, but it those are my odds maybe I should hide in a bunker the rest of my life 😆. Overall, great game. But if you’re looking for a hard hitting storyline rpg this is not for you, it’s more casual. Kind of like a randomized choose your own adventure book with an inventory and combat system... Ps. reading other reviews, ran into this problem too. I didn’t realize that was meant literally in the description that it’s a “true challenge”. almost every half decent rpg does that for the sake of the storyline

Great game, but.. I love this game. ive only had it for around 4 days, but ive enjoyed it. my only suggestion is to allow us a different work around for dying. such as, instead of just charging .99 cents to respawn, let us try another minigame. like, let us fight a miniboss with our current equipment, and if we fail to defeat it, give us a negative effect in our next run. .99 cents is a lot for a short try. or let us watch an ad somewhere to give us a bonus. of course i might just be really bad. but i enjoy the game. the story is fairly fleshed out for a mobile game, and its fun to play. and maybe even add some artwork for it during play. but its a great game. id recommend it 100%

Phenomenal and well balanced game. Whole lotta people saying the game is too hard, and they don’t like having to restart when they die, and the first level is impossible, etc. I have a feeling those people have never played a rogue-like, and expect everything to be as easy as angry birds. The game is very very beatable, don’t be fooled. I’m honestly shocked there are so many (kids) saying that they can’t beat the first level, as the ring of health that you get is ridiculously powerful and allows for a lot of mistakes (it heals you for free every day, something that is usually quite hard to do). This game is one of the best mobile games I have come across, and if you are even slightly interested in the premise you will not be let down.

Great D&D alternative if you are lazy, like me.. Having tried to play D&D once before, I was noticeably pretty bored and not very engaged when it came to the gameplay. It included a lot of rolling dice and talking. A lot of preparation goes into starting a D&D game as you need to gather people and set up characters. In Path of Adventure however, you just open the all and you can start right away. The mechanics and game systems were relatively easy to get the hang off with a few deaths and cannot really think of major complaint at the moment. I guess RNG is a big factor in this that many might not like but I enjoy it a lot coming from games like Darkest Dungeon and other similar rogue likes. The dialogue is also pretty lovely and gives good atmosphere.

Frustratingly fun. Short, quick, to the point: the game is fun, but hard. There’s not a lot of content to dive into, after about an hour you’ll have seen most enemy types, scenarios, items, etc., but it still manages to retain your attention. I do think some characters need to be balanced better- the mage especially consumes income for spells, and those spells double in cost on use. As adversaries scale, not just spells, but upgrades/items in general start to feel lackluster. Another minor annoyance I have is the paid resurrection fee. The dev mentions that it helps them continue creating content- and I can support. But with one resurrection costing a dollar, it could add up fast, especially with how absurdly poorly some characters scale. Overall, it’s worth playing, if you don’t mind a few inevitable unfair ends or encounters, you’ll probably still have a blast.

Great to pass the time. Such a simple and fun roguelike that is extremely easy to pick up and put down at any time. I’ve looked through a lot of mobile roguelikes and this is certainly near the top of my list. There seems to be always more you can find and replayability is endless. Good game. If the devs see this, I’d like if enemies had more balanced stats, as some can have defense higher than your attack, agility fast enough that they dodge any attack, or attack so high there’s no chance to defend. I like that the bosses are warned far in advance so you can build to counter them, but if you’re fighting the dragon and building defense then you run into an enemy with 4 or 5 defense, your attack is only high enough to scratch them if you’re lucky

Not bad!. This won’t win any rewards for depth or graphics but it is pretty fun. Feels like a throw back to the 80s Choose Your Adventure books from D&D. I played the rogue and beat it on the second try (first ended poorly against a Ghoul). Then I played as the Warrior and boy was that tough! Took many attempts and all my Undo chances but I did it. Didn’t even try the next levels! You can buy/sell gear and use some strategy and timing to maximize your chances of victory. If you want more Undo chanced you’ll have to buy them, I didn’t need for Rogue or warrior but would have for sure if I played Assassin or Mage level. But heck, they aren’t expensive and help support this Free/Ad-Free game so a little love to the developers won’t kill ya! Easy fun game-Hope they make more.

A fun and strategic adventure game.. I’ve been having quite a lot of fun with this game. There’s actually a fair amount of strategy involved, especially when you have to take into consideration like when to use an elixir, which weapon to use when fighting a particular enemy, and deciding which item to use on something in a dungeon. I love strategy games like this when the difference between a good and bad choice isn’t always black and white. The only thing you have to pay money for is if you die and wanna be brought back to life, which’ll set you back a dollar. While it might be faster for you to complete a class by resurrecting yourself, you can still win by making correct decisions and thinking a few steps ahead, so spending money certainly isn’t a requirement. In conclusion, Path of Adventure is a fun little mobile game that I always find myself coming back to. If you enjoy DnD or traditional text based adventure games like The Oregon Trail, definitely give this game a shot.

The same one fun experience 5 different ways. This game is a great challenge and the randomly generated experience keeps it from it becoming too stale on multiple playthroughs. I myself being not very good at this game and requiring multiple attempts just to clear the easiest mode, I found myself wishing for more variety in the events and items that pop up. It doesn’t take long at all to see them all and before too long I wasn’t even reading the text of this text-based RPG anymore. I also recommend finding a fantasy playlist to listen to while you play because there’s no music in this game. Other than that, the humor and descriptions are written well and I enjoy trying to conquer each more difficult mode with the new characters!

Easy 5 stars. Easy 5 stars and ive only played the first difficulty. Cant wait for what this developer makes next. Now ive read the other reviews and i see the developer is just one man so i understand new things might take a while, but if there was any thing i would add it would be a little more variety in each in each aspect of the game, maybe make it a little bit longer, and also i feel like the scaling could be better. For example the last boss kind of took me by suprise because everything before him was relatively low health and easy and then the giant comes in with a whopping 80 health. I do understand that he is the “final boss” and he needs to feel like it but even the sorcerer you fight right before him gave me no challenge whatsoever, but then again i just got it and only had time to beat the first difficulty and came straight here. This was my first time reviewing any app, and again was an easy 5 stars. Keep up good work👍

What a great time! Loads of effort and experience in a small download. This game has a comfortable home on my phone. The gameplay is fair and challenging without any overwhelming mechanics or unnecessary clutter. The adventures are fun sized, text based, and you can play them on a break or even through a full sitting if you wish to challenge yourself. I love the variety it offers! I’ve almost made it through the first main run, The Rogue, but the game of trying again with new knowledge and strategies is what makes it fun! I look forward to each attempt I make. I would recommend it to any fan of rpgs or text based adventures! It’s a perfect way to relax or go off on a journey without anything too overwhelming. 5 Stars!

BRAVO. I've had this game for a long while and am proud to say I've finally beaten the hardest difficulty. Despite Path of Adventure's apparent simplicity, I can tell that a lot of thoughtful effort was put into it. Much like when I play newer, high budget, conventional video games, I get a rush of adrenaline when I have to make nail-biting decisions and see what happens next... all from looking at text and buttons! Path is like a text-based RNG Dark Souls, but don't be fooled by the need for luck - to succeed, a skillful player needs to fully capitalize on whatever they have and make the most optimal decisions based on risk assessment. It's almost as if you're playing chess against the game itself. I really hope Path is expanded upon or a spiritual successor of sorts is made. I even feel guilty for not spending a cent on it (I still have my 5 free undos). Fantastic job Jordin!

Excellent concept, TPK difficulty. I’m an old school ttrpg player who hasn’t been able to get a game together in a decade and I’ve been looking for a game to fill that void. I had high hopes for this game, but once I finished the tutorial I’ve been stuck on the first level. You need extremely good luck and unwavering attention to detail in order to even get to the end-level boss and once you do they’re ridiculously OP. You need to simultaneously purchase all the weapons you can afford, support equipment and health potions to use at the final boss, but can only afford to buy half of the items you need. It’s challenging, and I don’t mind that, but it seems that you have to pay .99 to finish the level, and I’m strictly anti pay to win. I understand that the developer has to pay the bills but so do I. I plan to update my review if I ever manage to progress without paying for a resurrection. (Edit) After finally getting to the boss a second time and carefully marshaling my resources, I managed to barely defeat the creature with 2 hit points left. I think this game is still terribly difficult, but it may be possible to eventually level up without putting money into it. And if you have the $ to spare the dev deserves to be compensated for their work

Surprising. This game is quite good. I played the free trial on armor games (a very smart place to put it I must say) and got hooked immediately. I knew I would spend money on it if I had to. I was very surprised by many aspects of it. Definitely worth the money to start out. At first I had wished you just payed up front but the tutorial is critical to getting a feel for the game. There are a few repeating elements that made me critical to its overall quality and actual time spent on it, but then realized there’s those aspects even in games like The Elder Scrolls (things like repeating voice actors and such). Solid 4/5 5/5 would be easily achievable if it had its own music (even royalty free medieval music would work), and a tad higher quality operating system. Feels like an app made in 2013 not 2019. Still magnificently made story lines. Currently working my way through the second story. Also the whole screen will scroll sometimes instead of just the text. Mildly infuriating but I would assume is an easy fix. (Edit: ALL OF MY POINTS NEED TO HE DECREASED IN AGGRESSION BECAUSE ONE MAN MADE THIS BY HIMSELF I AM AMAZED HELL YEAH BROTHER)

Fun game, may luck be on your side. Edited my initial review. This game is really fun, but it is extremely hard, and I guess that’s a good thing. I thought it was impossible to win unless you pay. But with a little luck, strategy and several enchanted items I was able to crush the giant! I was stoked and it may not have been that exciting if it wasn’t difficult. I still do think easy mode was harder then it should be, as it may discourage other players like it initially did myself. To the developers: I’d likely pay for this game if it was a 1-5$ fee for the full APP with no extra pay content to follow. I’m not the type to spend money on game add ons. I think if you made the easy mode just a little bit easier, and had a free lite mode available with just east mode you could get players hooked and motivate them to buy the full version. I’m tempted to buy a revive just to support your efforts in making the game. I do like others idea of keeping your stats rather then starting from scratch each level. Could be cool to pick characters with different starter stats even in the beginning levels. Great job and thanks for the entertainment *lowers to one knee as if to swear loyalty to the crown*

Amazin game. Great everything, except I wish that it had more replay ability , because most of the events u encounter on a second life or the third are roughly the exact same and I’d like a lot more new ones and a lot more lore building

Good writing. Thanks for making this. It's so much fun, and witty. Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?! 🤠

Fun text based play.. Ok I was hunting for something like this for a while. It’s a good old fashioned text based play. It’s got some great mechanics behind it and will challenge you. Haven’t found and glitches yet and I appreciate there are not any ad walls to the gameplay.

Pretty good way to burn time. This is a great game to burn time don’t need spend a cent unless you want a revival when and if you die! great text base dungeon crawl

Super simple, mildly interesting waste of time. It's free and you'll kill 30 minutes on it

Brilliance. A VERY good game. Enjoyable for every minute I played, considering. Not, and I want to emphasise this, MY kind of game. I do believe it is free to try though so, by all means—TRY IT! Please. I find it hard to believe you won’t enjoy it; it is a well made game and, were it for me, I’d still be playing. Enjoy!

Good game. This game is a very quirky text rpg and its hard AF. Love it.

Fun but durability system seems broken. I’ve played the easy level 4 times and lost every time to running out of weapons. I hoard weapons and preserve swings as much as I can. Too unbalanced and reliant on finding sharpening stones.

Worthwhile but not breathtaking. Haven’t completed all the s5ages of the game yet but enjoying it so far. Has a mix of challenges and decision making that impacts your success which keeps it interesting and engaging. I do wish there was more graphic interaction such as visuals of the creatures. Perma death is a nice way to keep the game fresh and progressive but one off use for most items like torches and sharpening stones is annoying. Overall, worthwhile but not going to top my list for adventure RPG games.

Very fun. Very fun game, a bit too RNG dependent but still a very fun game.

Rigged. Only way to progress is to pay!

Nice game. Very good and fun

Great game. Nice game

Love it. This game is so good! I’d give it five stars if there were different storylines more than just “The Path” But for what’s there it’s an insanely fun game!

Please add sounds for more realistic feels. great game in overall(as i love turn-based games). But the rng makes it a difficult game and i keep dying. hope this game can go even further with more features without ruining the system’s balance. Add more different stories will be a huge pumping.

Surprisingly good. I downloaded this game not expecting to be entertained very well due to the text based gameplay but I was taken by surprise when I found myself entertained for hours on end. I would recommend to anyone getting into texted based rouge-likes and the such, very well made.

Great game. Not much to say here. No ads get shoved in your face, every run is different and unique and difficulties are actually real. All in all, a very good game.

Pretty good can improve. I love the game so far. I’m almost done with all the levels. I wish there were different adventures and not just the same one randomised.

A fun game but unfortunately.... It’s impossible to get through even the lowest levels without spending a lot of cash. The in game purchases is also flawed. I’ve been charged twice without receiving my restored. Pity really ‘cause it a fun game. The bottom line is this game is a scam. Give me money back...

Difficult enough to keep interest. Read above

Good but hard. This game is good, really good. But as the game goes on and you unlock more classes, the game becomes hard. For maximum fun I would recommend the early classes.

Great game. Not what I was expecting. Very entertaining and I enjoy every minute I play it.

Fun, just hard enough to be continued value. Sometimes I play this for hours

Very good game. It is a very good game, highly recommend it, kinda hard though.

Challenging and fun. Quirky take on the old rpg text based games.

Path of adventure. it could be me, a craftsman and tool thing. I haven’t got past the first character, my best attempt being thwarted by an update. I wonder how many times that might happen?

Yes. Love this

Yes. Buckler max defense pog.

This game. I played this game for hours in my past time, though I never fully completed it, always dying on the giant, hydra or dragon. It was on my last attempt that I got within 1 hit of killing the giant. I had the buckler, dwarf armour, wizard hat, just about every item. My sabre broke and I was left with the mace of doom. It had a 50% chance of hitting. Every time I swung it, it missed, I used every healing item in my inventory until my tower shield broke. I had 2 HP left, I swung the mace, it missed, the giant killed me. I have never felt so angry in my entire life. Then you know what happens next? The message. "You know, dying isn't that bad". I threw my phone across the room, shattering it and punch a hole in my wall. I wanted to commit a genocide, all because of that message. All in all, great game would recommend 5 stars. Please get rid of the death message.

THAT MERCHANT. Okay so I love this game, it really is amazing, but there is one big issue that I have with that merchant. I few times now I have bought something from him, gone on to my inventory and sold it back to him. The worst one happened just now, before I wrote this review, when I realised I was poisoned and on low health (while trading with the merchant) and I went onto my inventory to use an elexir of growth. I felt my soul leave my body. This hasn’t been updated in a while, but I think that when trading with the merchant there should be both a ‘use’ button AND a ‘sell’ button on your inventory. Otherwise, great game and extremely fun.

Don’t waste your time - Game is rigged. There is no way to get past the ranger level. This game is equivalent to a casino, where dealer always wins. If you go into the final boss fight and it looks like you may win, they run away and then you are forced to fight a range of creatures until all of your resources are spent. Then they pop up again and finish you off. This happens time and time again. Not cool.

Looking forward to more!. Great text-based game, with an almost Pratchet style humour mixed in. Difficult, but not impossible. Monetization isn’t forced on you. A few grammatical errors which detract from the experience the first time, and then it gets kind of repetitive, given that it’s the exact same story for each of the characters. I’d definitely love to see more adventures in the future.

Good,Simple,Enjoyable, However with some problems.. As the title suggests the game is actually good however there are a couple of problems i would like to point out. 1.Too repetitive: Now i only cleared the Rogue path but i still feel like the game gets too repetitive with its choices, not don’t get me wrong the amount of character paths to unlock is actually motivational enough for you to complete the game and try them all out however every time i start a run seeing the same old choices and options makes it too boring to start over once i die and usually stop playing for 20 minutes or more, maybe even a few hours. All im asking is for the devs to add some more interesting events, paths so it doesn’t get boring after playing for a while. 2.Too difficult (?): This is just my personal opinion but i lowkey feel like the game is way too hard for the beginning characters, like i said i only completed Rogue and currently playing Warrior but i feel like the game is far too hard sometimes.Like i said personal opinion so don’t take it to heart but maybe that’s what the point of the game is.To be difficult.

:). I think this is a fantastic game, and I played it until completion. Great idea, great execution. If there’s one flaw I could point out, it’d be the size of the game. It’s small, and by that I mean that its content is limited. After you’ve finished the game, which can happen quite quickly, there’s simply nothing left to do; the game becomes too repetitive. Indeed, the increased difficulties are essentially just even more repetitive, as you hope for better RNG. I could play this for hours and hours - and then never again. Perhaps a paid expansion? In any case, it’s a fantastic game, and downloading it and playing it for the first day or so was an exercise in euphoria.

A surprisingly stellar game. I got attracted to the combat system reminiscent of “A Dark Room”, but I always expected a paywall or some unfair in-game currency but no. It has no in-app purchases besides ones that essentially break the spirit of a roguelike RPG for the sake of easy wins. Provides a great challenge, but always feeling fair since it’s usually your own lack of foresight or complete carelessness that gets you killed. 5/5, tons of love poured into this one!

Brilliant time killer. Let me just start off by saying this game is hard - there is a definite learning curve to overcome before you will succeed. That said, each character “class” plays uniquely, the writing is good and the combat is rewarding. There isn’t too much variation to the game and I would love to see more but what is there is awesome. 10/10 would recommend

Fun solo adventure. The game is easy and fun to play, can be a little repetitive but has enough variety to keep you interested.

Custom. Let us make a custom campaign

Lovely game!!. <3

Good, fun and different. Like the content, looking for more now. I want a story and arcade mode (arcade like very stat and upgrade focus, see how powerful you can make a character). Overall, this game is quality, would pay a 5er for it.

Such a good game. Really fun, good story line and the difficulty is a nice challenge. Plus no ads!

Fun game good challenge but.... The rng can be a bit of a pain

Great Game. Good game overall, however the easy level is way too hard, practically unbeatable. If you balance the difficulty the game would be one of the best!

A decent game. I enjoy passing the time with this, it’s simple to grasp but difficult to complete. This games best trait is its nostalgia for classic dungeon delving, its worst traits are the repetitiveness and large component of luck required to win.

Nice adventure to while away a train trip. I do enjoy the game although I still haven’t got past the easy campaign as I obviously make poor choices in the adventure I’ll get there one day…one day

Awesome. Really enjoy this. Fun and creative game. Like playing a story :)

Great! But.... It’s a great game, love the style and super well done but it’s like 99% RNG and nearly impossible due to that, I’ve had countless runs where there was nothing I could do but fail due to the over powered bosses, I feel like with a slight nerf to the bosses this game could become much more enjoyable.

A new large update would be nice. Great game for those interested in this genre, but hard to imagine long term playability because it’s always the same plot and scenario but with different handicaps.

Fun but repetitive events. It’s really fun but the events are kinda just the same every game. Would be nice if something new was added.

Drawn by storytelling, stayed for gameplay. Good if you enjoy thinking things through Very tactical Long-term strategic & resource management Unforgiving Forced to adapt and change habits I had lots of trouble with Mage I am currently on Ring-bearer Suggestion would be button sounds, something hard and solid maybe

Fun. Pretty fun, I hope for more variety and settings later on.

This game balance needs fixing. I like the game, but the rng is horrible, countless runs, I’m still stuck on the easy dungeon. Having a very good grasp on how game mechanics work, I can say this is pretty close to raw chance. Most games don’t actually have pure chance anything, which makes this a refresher. But no one likes throwing all their effort into the trash for simple rng. Unless you have some weird love for darkest dungeon…. Also, the queens rewards are far from worth the trouble, I’d rather just sell her crystals and buy things from the merchant.

Nice casual fun. This is good roguelike fun without the whole getting lost thing. Very replayable and easy to learn.

Cheap Enemies. Enemies are too strong and item break too easily.

Enjoyable. I enjoy this game. Frustrating but fun.

Very nice and relaxing. If you guys could invest in some music or sound effect, I would pay for this. Minj

Yes but.... Gréât in shift sessions, but otherwise lacs long terme okay

Great game. Great game

Absolute gem. I love this game. It’s damn near impossible for me to get a win on anything but the beginner level, and I absolutely love how difficult it is. Games that invoke actual emotion with the randomized outcomes are hard to come by and I play any chance I get

4 cause nothings perfect.. Great fun.

Best game for the ride to school. No wifi required. Reading to wake you up. The only rougelike I enjoy

Gets annoying. the second you get to the higher difficulties like assassin its all RNG based, sucks to get slapped in the face with a 99 cent revive offer every time I die, doesn’t seem well tested and the hit % on enemies is nuts, its liked rigged gambling where you miss your attack 5 times in a row

Amazing game for killing time. The amount of times I’ve loaded up this game when I need an hour to kill is unreal. Great RNG and a overall great game

Awesome Game. Very fun

Too hard. Can’t even beat first lvl

Fun!. Lots of fun! Nice replay value, good challenge.

Fun, but too dependent on RNG. Fun to pass the time, but not at all skill or strategy based. Whether you succeed or fail is entirely luck based, so it’s not ideal if you don’t have the time to play repeatedly until you’re given the cards to make the required play

Exactly as one should expect. This game is great I’d recommend playing this game for fun if you like d&d. However the storyline seem to have a pretty set route. If it was a little bit more creative in its story line paths or secrets it it would’ve been a more enjoyable experience.

Could be better.. Fun for the first hour then just boring and repetitive.

Dark Background Or Lighting Contrast. Could You Make A Dark Background! Please And Thank You! 👍🏼

Catchy fun. need to make strategic moves

Simple and fun. Simple yet fun gameplay. I like to play whenever I have time to kill

Tons of fun. Fun game. Took me two years on and off to beat the first level.

Good time killer on long drives. It’s nice because it’s one of the few games that doesn’t require an internet connection.

Super fun and imaginative. Thumbs up!

Unforgiving yet satisfying. I like it

Fun game. It’s a good game, very much like dungeons and dragons. A bit tough to get past certain parts.

Great game. This game has interesting story and is easy to jump into.

A lot of fun, but gets repetitive. After about the second or third game, I stopped seeing any meaningful new content. Which is a shame, because the game is a lot of fun.

Great start. Nice little engine you’ve built. Time to tell more stories?

Pretty good. Truly the Dark Souls of mobile games Challenging yet fair, this game is pretty good

Fun, challenging. Your game is super fun and makes me think. And even though I can’t make it past the first character, its still very enjoyable. Thanks for the game.

Repeating. The game is kinda fun when you first start it. But after a a couple of tries you will realize that the content is limited and repetitive even if you unlock the next “path”

awesome rpg <3. I love this gameeee nerding out so hard. Very well paced. Maybe make the first level a liiiittle easier to beat? I feel like it’s a little bit unnecessarily difficult to pass, can’t count how many times I made it to the castle and almost made it, but that’s all.

Pretty good. It’s not bad, I have put 10 hrs into it and will put a few more

An amazing game!. It really proves that you don’t have to have the latest top tier graphics to have fun. Just wish there were ways to earn undos.

No complaints. No complaints

Solid. Challenging and fun

Pretty good. Awesome game wish the path was longer to get more levels for your character

I love it!. Its like dnd with less steroids. I like the idea of adding rng to a choose your adventure and enjoyed the chellege

Chalanging. Pretty challenging game. I like that in a game.

Bugged and imbalanced, but fun. Great game except three things: 1) the success rate seems reversed; 25% chances hit 75% of the time and vice versa. That or I have the weirdest luck; and since I’m not the only person to mention it, I’m not simply an outlier. And when mosquitos and snakes poison automatically, this unfortunate bug rarely works in the player’s favour; 2) the game success is heavily RNG dependent; more strategic choice would improve the overall experience; for example, offer a choice of two paths with different rewards on each; 3) due to the lack of choices and the shoddy hit and dodge rates, I’d say game balance is broken. If I can guess with good accuracy my chance of success on a given run after the first six days, something is lacking. I don’t mind repeating a game over and over: try Faster Than Light if you want a challenge. What I don’t like is rolling the same boring dice over and over hoping for a special result. The bones of the game are all there; and the concept and style are fantastic. Just find me a reason to play beyond day 6, or I’ll just walk away

Almost done right. This game has some truly amazing mechanics but is lacking in content. Too many repetitive events is what stops this game from being one of the best mobile games out there.

Fun game!. I enjoy this game quite a bit. While I prefer a more serious story and writing style, this game is pleasant and very replayable. Recommended!

Fix the % shown on attack. This game could be fun if you fixed the chance to hit shown when you attack. After 2 run at easy I missed 4 straight attack at 75% chance to hit on more than one monster. It’s impossible to elaborate a strategy if the game doesn’t give you the righ information.

Unique experience. Very interesting, fun, a great way to kill time. Never experienced something like this before, and I’m loving it. All the stories and paths are very unique and fun, amazing stuff.

Cool game, poorly balanced. I really dig this game’s concept. Lots of reviews commenting on how unfairly difficult this game is. I thought so too. In fact, the game is not unfair, just misleading. The chance to hit and dodge in this game is a lie. If you have a 50% chance to hit, it’s not uncommon to miss 6 times in a row, but you’ll never hit 6 times in a row, or even 3. If you have a 75% chance to hit, it feels like your actual accuracy is a lot closer to 50%. The flipside is, the same is true of dodging. If you have a 25% dodge chance, you’ll dodge a lot more often than that. If you have a 50% dodge chance, you’ll be the one dodging 6 attacks in a row. The takeaway is: Speed is a WAY better stat than Attack and Defense, because hit chance is much lower than the game tells you. So if you make a character with high Attack and Defense and low speed, then it’ll feel like attack rolls are unfairly stacked against you. The game is not impossible; if you get a lot of speed, then attack rolls will be unfairly stacked in your favor.

Excellent. This is a game that exceeds expectations. I was a little concerned at first when I saw that it had micro-transactions. However this is one of those rare games that does it well. You have an excellent gaming experience without limits and without paying a dime. The only time you pay is if you want to be resurrected after dying. But this isn’t a game where dying is a problem. It’s a short game so you will start over numerous times. That’s part of the fun of the game. If you want a fun quick adventure experience in text, you have found it.

Path of Adventure. Great Game! pretty short but it’s a free game which is always a good thing. if the game ever got a few tweaks I would recommend for each character changing up the dialogue to spice up the game and keep it fresh. as for the final character (the 4th one) I feel starting with +1 agility would balance the odds and make the run actually possible/ give you a bit more breathing room. as of right now, ive played through it about 60 or so times. I feel that small buff would be enough to make the run at least possible. as for adding content, I feel it would be neat to be able to continue past the dungeons in a endless mode. if youre reading this, thanks devs yours truely -JustBeGenuine

Would be decent if it weren’t a scam. Okay I like the overall layout and concept for the game but the underlying problem with the game is that it’s basically just a scam to get you to spend money. Throughout any of the character's “stories” certain mobs will dodge 3-5 attacks even though they have no agility. An example of this being the armored worm. I attack with a weapon with 75% chance and I miss 5 times despite the enemy not having agility like ummmmmmm ok then... This isn’t even just during one campaign... it’s a problem for every single one I play The creators of this game are just trying to create an illusion of this game being challenging when in actual reality, they just want mobs to lower your weapon durability and your chances of winning through mob manipulation In the end, sadly even though it had good potential all it is in the long run is a scam to get you to spend money to revive and such for the game.

Great game! Needs new events.. This is one of my favorite games! Each adventure is unique, challenging, and wholly enjoyable. Since the game is comprised of random text-based events, someone playing a lot stops reading events after a certain point. An event begins, and after reading the first sentence, avid players can already figure out which event this is, and skip to the action options for said event. A solid fix for this would be to either re-construct existing events, add similar events with a reverse goal (to throw off players that have gotten used to game patterns), and add new events, items, and encounters to keep the world alive.

Honestly very good. My only complaint and reason for 3 stars and ultimately uninstalling is that the percentages of hit chance and dodge chance seem absolutely random. Many times I had a 75% chance to hit and would miss MULTIPLE times in a row leading to death. I would also like to see enemy dodge chances for each attacking option for more strategy. Lastly, I think the spell and mushroom price gets too high, too fast, for the amount of treasure you find. I think the price going up by 2 every use would be better than doubling with every use. Nonetheless, the concept is absolutely perfect for what I was looking for but there just needs to be some fine tuning to battle. Great game, can’t wait to see updates and changes.

Challenging, but worth it!. I am currently attempting the Assassin level, which I haven’t quite been able to pass. The others took significantly less attempts, but this level is still very fun. Dying was frustrating in the beginning, but I’ve gotten over it. The user interface is appealing and clean, and fighting is interesting. The balance of stats is a little tough, but I think I’ve learned by now. The more difficult levels aren’t impossible, they just require some patience and skill. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes CYOA!

Great game, but.... I usually don’t write reviews unless a game has true potential. I can see a lot of people using this game to pass a car trip or just any time. The pros are endless so it would be easier to list the unfavorable quirks/suggestions/questions for the game. 1) The game is truly much too hard ( I completely realize the mechanics, mushrooms, armor, weapons, etc need to be used in a certain way to beat the game) 2) From a developer point of view wouldn’t it be smarter to make some levels slightly easier (not enough to take away from the experience) to keep your players more invested. 3) I personally am kinda bummed about the rogue level. I got the hydra to 26 health because of my love spell he couldn’t do damage then he ran away and other monsters killed me Summary: This game has a lot of potential and some things can be changed to appeal to the audience while maintaining the experience. Or in other words more customers for developer and happier players. Best of luck to where this game ends up. Cheers!

Ton of fun. Short and sweet. Having a ton of fun playing this game. Unlike other textbased games, the text in this game is super short and you can move along in the game quickly choices are pretty simple and that makes for a streamlined experience all in all a ton of fun has someone who is a forever DM I like that I feel like I can play a game of dungeons and dragons on my phone, there are some options to pay for things but they’re never required but it’s nice to be able to support the creator. all in all five stars

A game I didn’t expect to like so much... I LOVE IT. I’m not the type of dude who likes to read, but this game is perfect for someone who is too hungover to play fast paced games. I find myself retrying over and over again and honestly I truly appreciate the design. The text doesn’t bombard you with paragraphs on paragraphs; it’s just simple and easy to understand. I like how key words are highlighted so that you don’t have to read the same whole text, you just recognize the keyword and skim. My only suggestion is subtle music? I’m aware this could be tricky design-wise and technical-wise, but I can say for sure that it was too quiet when I was playing lol I love this game and wish for the developers to make similar titles!

Absolutely incredible.. My only gripe with the game is that you can’t make your own custom quests to my knowledge (starting stats, starting equips, etc.) However, other than that, this game is incredible. A mix of RNG, good mechanics, and decent story telling blend well for an app and make this game a joy to play whenever you’re off of a computer. Play sessions aren’t too long either and it’s so quick to get into another game that I find myself almost lost when I just get into it. But that does lead me to one issue— The mushroom system. From what I know, the only way to reset mushroom prices is another mushroom. Which you may or may not have. Effectively this can lock the player out from using the mushrooms ever again. Something I think would also add to the game is an item booklet where it tells you the name of an item and its effect, but only after you’ve collected it once. I believe it would be nice to be able to check on an item I could possibly get before actually sacrificing health and reaoirces to get it.

Fun concept. This game is hardcore luck based. Frustrating is having absolutely no mechanic that can improve your odds/chances no matter how much you play. The only reason this game will take you longer than about four hours (about an hour per character) to completely beat is the random generator. Consequently thats what also means it will likely take you hundreds of hours. Wish they would have included a tiny bit of incremental into this game. Even if only the tiniest of helps like maybe being able to pick one of your current items to keep on death. Something to take the monotony out of the repeats through the same content hour after hour.

Fun. but rigged, repetitive.. So basically this is one quest, which you will complete as different classes, with each class representing a higher level of difficulty. You cannot play the class you chose, you must complete them in order. Now I must state I have stalled out on the assassin class. Which is fine, sometimes you need to replay a game over and over to discover the secret to win. What is frustrating is that it seems impossible given how the character levels vs the level of monsters you encounter to complete this class without spending more than a couple of dollars to do so. The math is simply not on your side, so the game forces you to pay up for more health (resurrecting your player) to win. When you’re combating an enemy with 100hp, and can do max 10 damage per turn, it’s not going to take long for the math to dictate that your stealthy assassin didn’t manage to dodge that time. And you’re dead. So pay me $1 and get your HP back. Don’t mind dumping a few bucks into a casual game, but seriously let me pay $10 to just play your text based adventure, don’t expect me to invest $100 in resurrections and “undo last move” tokens.

Not the best, but it is worth your time. It has got a lot to do with luck more than strategy. On overall the game concept is great, I wish if there was more strategy and less to do with random luck. Also suggest the shields last a few more blows before breaking. And if possible show a numeric value to the life of shields and weapons. The in-game shop (AKA merchant) could use more consistency with the items rather than a random selection, its frustrating to see that you cannot plan ahead on your journey only because the items you need aren’t available and there isn’t an alternative either. But the short period of time i played, i really enjoyed the game. Thanks for a great game, hope to see more.

Something new. This game is a breath of fresh air from the smog filled mobile game industry. It’s ever-changing formula always has me guessing, even though there aren’t even that many items. The detail put into this is so stunning, and each death just has me coming back for more. My only disappointment was that each level still takes place in the same setting, but the variety of the playable characters makes up for it, although I do wish each character had a more personal role in the story. I hope that this game gets revisited by the creators. I highly recommend this game.

I hate but love this game.. I haven’t even gotten to the last one yet. Just on the mage. I hate this insanely, hilariously, annoyingly hard game with every ounce of my being because I keep coming back. I love the difficulty. I’ve read through some reviews and I genuinely don’t get them. Getting to the final boss is harder then actually beating them. Usually every time I have won it was in overwhelming fashion. A complaint, if any? I’ve accidentally sold stuff in the shop more times then I care to count. Usually in a rush to use a antidote or mana/ health potion or something and I would genuinely just debate quitting that run. If you had a sell confirmation or the sell beside the use button, that’d be great. Otherwise, if there were a table for the % value of items showing up? I’ve no doubt there’s a fan one out there somewhere but I would be happy if you put one out somewhere or made one for in game. Otherwise 👌🏻 game. I love the difficulty.

Random generator not so random. The game has a great story premise, and reads well. What makes it unplayable is the random generator. I have beaten the game with characters up to the wizard... and sad to say it is just unplayable. Enemy can hit for 1-5 hits 5 every time, I have a 75% chance to hit I miss every time. To give an example I had a 50% chance to hit... attempted the attack 13 times. Missed every single one on a 50/50 died had to restart. I started a new game and it started me with a pitchfork. 1st monster attacks me is a giant rat I have a 75% chance to hit... miss my 1st 4 attacks died restart exact same line up miss 4 75% and died. The game has done to this too me considerably more times than that. Just entirely unplayable when the odds are entirely stacked against you no matter what they actually are.

Hard. The reason I didn’t give five stars (as I have a lot of fun playing this game) was because of how abysmally hard it was. Don’t get me wrong, that is also the reason why I like this game so much, but because of the extreme difficulty, it is hard to feel any accomplishment when playing this game, and the fact that it is such a slow progression, makes it slightly daunting and challenging to play the game on a regularly basis. Other than that, I think the game is a very well thought out and really well made game, making every run very entertaining and challenging, as well as improving my strategic self, giving me an overall fun and interesting experience. Bravo, and good day.

Very addicting game!. My husband and I found this game about 3 days ago and have been playing it non stop! The main detail for me was that it is accessible for visually impaired users so that my husband and I can both play! We love this game. The only thing we really are bothered by is we passed the first level and made it to the second however the scenarios and the monsters you fight stay exactly the same, I was really hoping for some change in the scenarios so we don’t get bored with it! Please change it up a little if possible, the game is such a challenge that the same thing over and over again makes me not want to put the effort into playing anymore.

Classic, Old School D&d Crawler. Someone put a lot of thought into crafting this little slice of perfect one-on-one d&d campaigning. It keeps the same old tropes with some funny twists and uses easy game mechanics for a difficult playthrough. Reminds me of basement days of yore. Many thanks to the dev/dev's for keeping it free! Edit: Just one sticky widget: the hit percentages are not very representative of the real probabilities to hit a monster! If my to-hit chance reads 65%, I find I score a hit only once in three or four rounds, very consistently. If it's 50 or under, time to run away! Not sure how those scores are calculated but they feel inflated, which is fine, but takes getting used to!

Practically perfect. I want to say the game is “nearly perfect” but I cannot think of anything wrong with it. This is a FREE hardcore (one life per play) text-based fantasy adventure with a “pay-to-undo or resurrect” feature. It has several levels of difficulty within its hardcore framework that unlock as you complete the prior level of difficulty. The game is clever, funny, well balanced and atmospheric. It is pleasantly difficult. I’ve won every difficulty but the hardest. The only bad thing about the game is that the developer hasn’t made anything else like it.

Good quality. For a game on a phone it’s pretty good. There could be more variability in starting options but over all it is a really solid game. It’s really hard. The rng will wear you down and the bosses will finish you. Each level you will have to memorize the good and the bad choices, know how to spend your gold exactly and know how to spend your upgrades. The bosses you will have to remember what it takes to defeat them and even then, they are more powerful than you and your health may run out before you can do enough damage. You reatart the level every time you die. Or you can cheat and pay 99 cents to revive... cheater.

Insane ramp up, good challenge. I tried this game, you know just to try it. I tend to get bored very easily with games. This one has kept my attention with the RNG as well as the insane difficult ramp. I’m on the assassin and made it to the castle but couldn’t kill that stupid giant haha. I’m determined to beat all the levels of this game. Definitely worth it especially being free. Give it a shot if you like a challenge that will frustrate you, anger you but make you feel like you’ve accomplished something when you win. P.S. watch out for poison. That has crippled me the most so far 😑

Like D&D, but easier to start.. I’ve had this for a few days and have been really enjoying it so far! It reminds me of playing dnd, except without the freedom (as to be expected for all video games. It is a game all about resource management. Making sure you have the stats, weapons and items to survive now, while making sure you can survive the challenges of the future. The game is very difficult, with even then easiest mode requiring a great degree of planing, skill, and a little bit of luck.

Fun dungeon crawl turn based RPG.. This game is pretty fun and takes up a decent amount of time. One of the only issues I have with this game is the UI is too sensitive and any click you make will register even if you drag your finger off. That combined with only getting a static 5 redos, it is a little annoying. Otherwise, this is a great game and you can spend quite a bit of time figuring out different strategies and playing different classes (difficulty). The games are kinda fast, but addictive. If you can live with every click you make -5, then you can absolutely play this game without paying any money.

Fun but reparative. This game is really fun to to play. Being a rouge like text game makes the experience a little different each time. The exploration has some risk each time which creates a sense of building excitement, but there are not enough events, so the situations come up too often to make it feel like a different experience each time. Plus too much is related to chance for the main quest vs strategy or skill. If you have a bad encounter it is almost impossible to make up for it. I still have fun and I still enjoy playing the game. They have the start of something amazing if they keep developing the game.

Great text based roguelike for phone. This game focuses on strategy and risk-reward gameplay. Very streamlined and gameplay oriented with a touch of humor in the dialogue and item text. Learning the mechanics is hard and can be unfair at times, but starting fresh isn’t such a huge investment that it becomes prohibitive. There are numerous difficulty modes and I have the most fun playing on “hard”, meaning there’s a lot of wiggle room for different skill levels in my opinion. I haven’t spent any money, and wasn’t ever annoyed by ads of any kind. Perfect phone game, 5/5

Great game! Challenging yet fun!. Love this game. It is very challenging and frustrating at times, but once you beat a character the satisfaction is so great. The game does rely on some luck, so one run you can get screwed over by almost everything and you just need to reset and try again. I love how it is truly a free game, with the option for those to pay for redos (which help a bit but don’t guarantee a win). The game takes a lot of strategic thinking depending on which character and attributes you should increase. Also the weapons and shields have durabilities so you have to keep your eyes on those throughout the game.

Money not required. I don’t get where people don’t understand RNG. If there is no modifier to increase your success rate Every swing or dodge could fail, every time. Just get over the death and restart. I can run the whole game in under an hour. Dungeons and all. I’d love to tout more about how money is not needed but other review are right. Devs(dev) needs to eat. So I guess let them pay. Very good game. Replay ability very high. Got to assassin in mere days. Does get progressively harder. Games are supposed to. Yes there is lots of chance involved. That’s what makes it a rogue like game. If the run goes bad. Start over. Game is terrific. Could use sound

Absolutely Great, but some suggestions. This game is great! It has roguelike elements, easy to learn stats, and is a challenge. I’ve beaten it once so far, and it seems balanced enough. It might lack in some content outside of runs though. Perhaps, there should be a currency that you could gain when you win a run that lets you get different game modes, or maybe character upgrades? It would give a larger sense of progression into the game, and encourage players to keep on replaying. Anyways, great game, and hope you keep on updating this!

Super fun game!. I’ve always liked playing rpg (Skyrim, fallout, stuff like that) and this really gave me a feel for that. It’s easy to play/learn (you need to be able to read.) but I think this could really shine if they make a more free roam game but with the same mechanics. It’s a little tricky to win (took me about 40 times to beat easy.) In short I would highly suggest this game, even if you don’t like most video game, but especially if you do like most. so please get this game, support the developers and have plenty of fun. Yours truly, Unknown.

Good but Chance of Hit isn’t accurate. Very fun game! Though much more difficult than I expected. There is enough variety that it makes every play through a little different. I do wish there was more than 1 route through caves or dungeons. Once you’ve done one you’ve done them all. Biggest complain is when you’re in a battle and it says “weapon chance of successful hit” and says “75%” but you might land the hit 1/4 attempts….what? And don’t even get me started on a “50%”. I have pressed that 20+ times and watched my health drop one at a time until death without landing a single hit. You’re telling me the chance of hit is 50/50? Impossible. Besides that it is very fun and challenging!

Best $1.99 I’ve Spent in Awhile. There’s nothing flashy about this game, no high quality graphics, no cool combat sequences, no character design. It’s just words and numbers. With that being said, if you can take words and numbers and turn it into an adventure with creative items, tough, yet fair enemies, and a fresh experience every time you play, you’ve made a masterpiece. This game is everything an RPG should be and carries the spirit of its legendary predecessors in a way that allows it to be authentic and a bit comedic at times. In short, I love it and I feel that it was totally worth my $2 plus tax. All that’s left to do is continue to update it and the game will be absolute bliss for a long time.

A+ Game & Suggestion. I love this game, thank you for the content keeping me from my boredom. I have one suggestion though, and that is to create an infinite mode. Maybe after the player beat all the levels, there would be an option to play infinitely, the “high-score” being how far you got. If you could design this to work, I think that would keep me playing, and I would definitely come back to this game more often. If you end up doing this, I just hope that there would be leaderboards (one for people who don’t pay, and one for people who do). Thank you again, I hope you think about making that infinite mode. :)

Great game with potential. There may not be any graphics but the game is a blast to play. When you make decisions they have weight and when you’re in a battle you have to focus on how to win. Theres a variety of play styles that you can preload into the game and receive while playing The only thing i say that is a must is endless mode. Now I know that that would require a LOT of work but I believe it could add more story or world building. Like the longer you survive the stronger both you and opponents become plus having more story or world building added on top. Its honestly a big plus the game doesn’t use graphics so that the story and other mechanics of the game can truly shine.

Exactly what I wanted. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a game for my phone. Doesn’t drain the battery at all. I’ve died plenty of times on the first adventure after the tutorial. Yes, it does often repeat the settings and locations normally have the same hazards, but I’m still surprised to see new enemies and the items you can acquire. They highlight the bits that change like monsters, and items, so after dying a lot I can just read the highlighted bits and rush to my death that much faster. The pay to revive bit is more than fair and the dialogue between Death and Story are actually funny; which is nice after dying to the last boss.

Shady sorcerer 987. This game is awesome developer you did an awesome job or something really cool happened when I was playing with this one time I got 10 resurrects and the first few that I got I was so determined not to be killed by the hydra that I just kept using using using them by the time I beat it I had used like three or four resurrects on the hydra and then when I got to the assassin level I saw that gives me a basilisk fang right at the start I didn’t want to lose it so when I died I just kept resurrecting myself until finally I just was like you know what this is enough and ended the game then I realized that it always gives me a basilisk fang on this level from the start

Great game, maybe could use a few changes?. Overall it’s an amazing game and i love the blend of strategy and luck that’s needed to be successful. The only changes i would recommend are just some health and damage nerfs to some of the bosses and some more artwork/color here and there. The bosses just feel a tiny bit too strong and it’s very overpowering and a bit unfair in my opinion. Not completely impossible but still too hard. It can discourage players from playing if they’re just stuck on the rogue level. Also it’s sort of drab, and it could use some more symbols or drawings or even just random splashes of color.

Very fun!. When you first play this game, it seems like an easy, fight loot and level up kind of game. But the more you play this game, the more you will see that you will need to keep your wits about you to survive the path of adventure! You have to decide which resources you can spare to lose, because the path is not easy; you will definitely lose weapons, items, and health along the way! This game keeps you on the edge of your seat as you do your best to keep your adventurer alive and fight the various monsters (with their different combat styles). Definitely give it a try!

Fun, but repetitive. This game is fun and brings me back to other text based choose your own adventure type games. The main issue is that once you beat a difficult level or “character” it’s basically the same thing over and over again. Same sorcerer, same witch queen, same final boss setup. This game would be a lot better if each character built upon the existing story instead of just rinsing and repeating It’s also nice that there are no ads. You can pay a dollar to resurrect if you die but other than that, that’s it.

Very engaging and addicting!. This game seems simple at first, but don’t let that fool you. Even the easiest level can take time to get through, time and patience. There’s also a bit of strategy involved. I love the amusing quips and references to favorite pieces of literature, like The stone being thrown into the pit. This is a game I will come back to you again and again, I am sure. As to being accessible, I couldn’t ask for better! It is extremely easy to use with voiceover, and this means so much to me. I hope the developer isn’t finished developing, either this game or new offerings.

This game reminds me Dungeons & Dragons!!. I support this game 100% I downloaded it on a whim expecting it to be a normal game of just well story telling and good fun. But it turned out to be a bit more than I expected. It is actually fun and I really enjoy the thought process of having to make choices carefully and plan things out to make ends meet and have a better outcome. I downloaded this 2 days ago and been stuck on it all day! Even as I was at a lake with a beautiful waterfall it made me feel so at ease and relaxed I recommend it to anyone who is into D&D and loves games with making choices where you feel in full control. From the US and Spain much love

A truly impeccable game. This game was obviously made with so much care, and I absolutely love the game. I can replay it a surprising amount of times and I’ve yet to get bored, even when I’m just sitting there in the middle of the night. The enticement of getting close or knowing I need to overpower this one event makes it really hard to look away from. As an earlier review I saw said, endless mode would be a pretty fun option, but the game is amazing even in just its current state. Another suggestion, is an unlock all characters micro transaction. Of course, some people won’t need it, but I’m sure a lot of people are stuck on say the Warrior and just want to play the wizard. The difficulty progression is really nice, and probably the reason why there’s no unlock all, but I still think it’d be a good idea. It’s perfectly optional, so there’s no harm, and gives you more for your absolutely amazing game. Overall, absolutely beautiful, and I will continue to play in my free time.

I am addicted to this game!. This is exactly the kind of game I was looking for! I can’t stop playing it. I do have a few books I’m supposed to be reading for a class so I don’t know when I will ever read those (😂) but this game is way more interesting! Some people commenting that it’s frustrating getting so far and then dying. It is. But if that didn’t happen I would have finished this entire game by now. And every time you play it it’s an entirely new adventure so really it’s perfect just the way it is!

Great idea but not actually fun. Even the easy level is unnecessarily difficult. It’s winnable but so freaking frustrating that it isn’t satisfying. If you’re looking for a fun and engaging adventure, this is not it. This is just you dying ten times for every time that you want to win. My biggest issue with the game is that the “Hit Chance” values are overstated. I’m petty enough that I actually went in and did the math for this and the numbers are extremely suspect to me. I kept the data for 50 attempted attacks: Average “Hit Chance” - 68% (Averaged) Actual Hit Percentage - 34% (17/50 Hits) Out of fifty hits it was half of the projected value. That’s dishonest from the programmers and it needs to be fixed. I don’t hate the game. But I feel like they deliberately made it so hard that you either have to pay or resign yourself to having a bad time. This game would be fun if there were 5 or 6 mini adventures that were consistently winnable that you could just play for the satisfaction of going on an adventure. I downloaded this because I wanted to go on an adventure, not because I wanted to freaking die over and over and over again.

Solid Entertaining Time Sink. This is a randomized text based rogue-lite game. The writing is intentionally silly and the gameplay is straightforward. This is by no means a classic, but a perfect example of what a game like this should be. It’s something to do on your phone that doesn’t waste your time trying to wring money out of you. The only micro transactions allow you to continue after you lose. It more-so feels like you’re giving the creator a donation. There’s plenty of in-game text to deter you from spending money as well. If you’re a fan of old-school RPGs and need something to do. Give this a shot.

I love this game and I can’t put it down. This is such an awesome game and I can’t stop playing it! I usually play this game every night before I go to bed and even during the day if I have time. This game is so cool and I love the characters and I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who was looking for an adventure game that was accessible with voiceover. The only thing I would say about this game is I think it would make it more fun if there were sound effects for different interactions in the game

Bundles of Fun!. A good game adaptation of choose-your-own-adventure books! Only issue is monetization. I understand developers need money but paying for undos and resurrections feels a bit much when death is so frequent. I believe most deaths in my games could have been avoided if I had played the situation correctly but sometimes RNG screws you over! Whether it be shops containing useless weapons towards the end of the adventure leaving you with a fly swatter to kill the final boss with or facing many demons that destroy your weapons when you kill them which simply feels like a cheap gimmick and an artificial layer of difficulty that adds nothing to the game. Other than those gripes the game has lots of potential!

Fun at first. I don’t want to downplay the game, I think it’s a good one, the only issue that I have is that just changing up player stats doesn’t necessarily make the game that different. There is one storyline that you follow no matter the level and the game just gets kind of repetitive. At fist, I really enjoyed it, but after beating the first 3 levels, playing the 4th just kind of fell flat. I would have appreciated a little different story with maybe more powerful/different items, making different enemies instead of the same ones, make the setting different on levels, something like that. I think this game has a lot of potential to be a lot better, but in current state, I can’t justify a higher rating.

Good, but Needs a Premium. Quite fun and engaging, making ya think and plan strategically the whole way. Main story is interesting. 2 things though. 1. Think each type with difficulty level attached should have slightly different/unique story or path to shake it up a bit. 2. With all the redos and resurrects, I think you should also offer a 1-time Premium that gives you infinite Rez’s or redos. Or give a choice with 1st premium lvl giving one and 2nd lvl giving both. I’d be more likely to spend and play as I have to stop myself after awhile to not spend too much and I delete the game because of it. So one two-level premium choices would make me more likely to put the money down, even if it’s $20 or even $30 possibly. Just a thought
