Boring. Tapp doesn’t tell you anything

Nice app but can’t go very far in future. I really like the design of this app and it works really well. But at the moment I can only view eclipses through 2022. That’s really not that far in the future and hope this is only because it’s a pretty new app. Hope they make eclipses further in the future able to be viewed soon

Charges extra $0.99 for iPad audio!. I just bought the app for $0.99 in preparation for 4/8/24. Added the audio guide for an additional $0.99 on my iPhone. But when I wanted to add that option on my iPad they want to charge another $0.99! Nickel and dining- not cool

Spam notifications. I purchased this app only to be notified of upcoming eclipses. I am receiving notifications such as “Retrograde motion demystified” and “Why do we have seasons”. These educational notifications would be fine if I could turn them off but it looks like it isn’t possible. I’d have to disable all notifications for the app via the iOS settings app but that would defeat the purpose of the app, which is just to be notified of eclipses!

Disappointing. This app only provides very basic information. I was hoping it would show where the moon was in the sky during the different phases. There are plenty of websites that provide much more rich information. I found the dateandtime website to be very useful. Don’t waste your 99 cents on this app, like I did.

Vito gets it.. These folks are the wizards of the galaxy. I own and use many of the apps they have created. I started out with Starwalk and never looked back. I recently sold a telescope to a couple of college kids. I asked them if they had heard of Vito. “Oh yeah” and then they rattled off the apps they used. This Eclipse app is a bonus. It’s so well designed much like Starwalk 2. I wish it had been around when I was a kid, I may Ave changed professions. Worth every penny.

Missing augmented reality. Vito Technologies is famous for their augmented reality star gazing apps. This is not up to their standard, since it only contains information easily found on the Internet. I was looking for an app that would show where in the sky the moon will be during the eclipse for the purpose of photography.

Difficult to select desired locations.. I had the pleasure to witness many eclipses all over the world and was hoping this app would be a handy little addition to my many ways of planning expeditions. I’m disappointed in its usability. Was hoping I could select locations on the map but no, and the search feature fir locations is very limited.

Fantastic App!. Love this app since it is so versatile and shows you exactly what you can see and when from anywhere in the world!

Get what you pay for. For 99c not much. Should’ve bundled the extra $0.99 with the original since it’s not that useful without it.

Not reliable at all.. I bought this for today’s eclipse and having enjoyed this developer’s other apps, I expected a working app. Unfortunately, it let me down. At the time of purchase, it seemed to work with a good timeline of the eclipse for my location. Yet when we went out to see the eclipse, it kept telling me that it was not viewable from my location even after manually selecting my city, closing and restarting the app, and even restarting my phone. In the end I just had to go to sky and telescope on my browser to get my timeline instead. Utterly worthless app. I can not recommend it at thus time.

Navigate. Good informative list

Needs more eclipses. Layout is nice and easy to use but they need to add more future eclipses. The 2024 North American eclipse is going to be a big one for many people and needs to be added. I would say only flaw.

Worthless. Once the eclipse started, it moved on to the next event many months away. Just useless.

Useless for Planning. Capabilities are hyped, even having in-app purchase. Limited list of cities and features, and no environment data. Poor mapping. Look elsewhere.

Bad app. Doesn’t work. Not worth $.99

Very limited time frame. App works very well and is easy to use. It’s a shame the purchased expanded time frame is only through 2024. Suitable for entry level only.

Bad data makes it useless. 2 days before janJan 20 lunar eclipse in Seattle purchased app and it showed proper data. On night of eclipse it says no eclipse anywhere in USA. Meanwhile I am watching eclipse start. So I checked animation and notice all simulations stop at what seems GMT midnight for eclipse date. Tried several other events at later dates and same issue. Very disappointing unless you live within 4 hours of GMT.

Can you please make this app remember you blocked a notification?. Could you please make this app remember when you block a reminder that does not apply to your geographic location? I’d up the rating if this was possible.

Stealing data from your clipboard. This app is stealing whatever you have saved in you clipboard. For me it was a sensitive password.

Very Nice App - RECOMMENDED!. I bought this brand new app for the January 20, 2019 total lunar eclipse and it worked flawlessly. I was quite pleased at how it showed the terrestrial path of the eclipse, how complete or partial a view you would have from your location, and the times (and a time lapse video) for the beginning and end of each phase of the eclipse. I REALLY liked being able to turn on the specific alarms/notifications that I wanted (just “click” the red alarm clock symbol in the event list for the ones you want to be notified for). I’ve already gotten my 99 cents’ worth! That said, there were a couple things I would like to see in the next update. Number one is the option to choose a 12 hour clock. I understand the scientific reasons for the 24 hour clock but conventional timing for both the time lapse video and live clocks would have made the app much easier to use. Also, I really like that you can browse past and future eclipses (with a handy eye icon that tells you which will be visible from your location), but graying out past eclipses would have made it easier to see “when” I was as I browsed. Overall this app is more than worth the 99 cents, and I hope a few minor tweaks will make it even better. I recommend it.

Not showing tonight’s eclipse. When I opened Star Walk 2 tonight I was asked if I’d like to download this app. What a great idea I thought... except now it just tells me that I’m not in a location to view the July 2nd solar eclipse... (edit: apparently the search function will let you change the event so I was actually able to go back to today’s eclipse.)

Fraud! Useless for planning!. First they fraudulently claim the upgrade has detailed maps. But it had no street level, the whole state of Illinois has 14 cities showing as dots. This is totally useless for finding a place to watch. It doesn’t even have the center line of the path! It will let you search for cities but 99% of cities are not listed. It will let you enter coordinates but you have to go to another source to find them and convert to correct format. Then it had no way to save them! If you click on the map trying to find info for that spot it doesn’t let you. While it has the times of the phases, it is missing detailed info on where the sun will be. Don’t pay for this. Get Totality. It is free. It has street level maps. All you have to do is click anywhere on the map and it gives you more details than this terrible program.

They’re spamming non-eclipse notifications again. Defeats the purpose of having an app that notifies upcoming eclipses when u have to turn off notifications.

Spam you each day with garbage notifications. Downloaded app for 2024 eclipse, had to enable notifications but each day they spam you with junk unrelated to the Apr 8 eclipse and no way to stop those spam push notifications. Will not buy again, made a mistake.
