What a thrill. Amazing art and sound design with varied, sometimes challenging gameplay. Not quite a rhythm game, something like f-zero, a sonic game and RezHD all packed into one. Took me about 2 hours to play through the story. The controls rarely get in the way but there’s a lot happening on screen sometimes but this makes the levels worth playing multiple times, especially the “boss fights.” I very rarely play mobile games but I saw an ad for this and decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did, what a brilliant game.

AWESOME. Ok this is hands down the coolest game I have ever played. The music I mean it is amazing. And the graphics are awesome all those colors and it being so abnormal in an amazing way like the colors in cities are just bland but in this game they are amazing. A revelation! Apple Arcade is worth it because of this game!. Just the art of this game was enough to draw me in. This game is gorgeously designed! But it’s so much more than that. The music is fantastic, and is essential to the experience to the game. The mechanics are a meld of endless runner and rhythm game, with a bit of arcade shooter mixed in. There’s a sweet little story tying it all together too. At times it can be quite challenging as it throws many different things at you in quick succession, so fast you have to try some sections over again and again til you know them. But that’s also part of the joy - you can try a section as many times as you need (no forcing you to start from the very beginning again) or if a section is too hard you can just skip it. The experience is open to everyone, though completionists like myself will go back to try and achieve gold rank on levels, all while reveling in the experience.

Stunning Design; Interactions could be better. This game is absolutely beautiful. The songs were fantastic and characters fit perfectly. Some rounds were a little difficult but I was able to finish the whole game in an hour. One improvement that could be made is the swiping. It was a little difficult to get the character to move where you want it in time. There seemed to be a delayed reaction on some levels. I spent most of the time figuring out ways to get past this. Another improvement would be to put a start sign on the screen when the level has started. There were times when I didn’t even realize the level had started due to how smooth the transitions from storyline to gameplay were.

Wow...Um...UNEXPECTED AWSOMENESS. Like ITS AWSOME! The graphics are JUST RIGHT and ITS SO AWSOME! Though I do wish it was like multiplayer so I could play with my friends and family. I’ve never seen something with so much like COLOR and GRAPHICS! There is only a few downsides though. The controls are hard to figure out at first for there is no tutorial, and it’s hard to play on the phone, but sometimes that makes it more fun! I also wold recommend that there would be more levels for I almost finished them all in only 20 minutes. But overall it my FAVORITE game EVER!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Astounding. While the format of the ‘visual album’ is well-known, I feel there have been far fewer ‘playable albums’. My favorite playable album used to be Rez, but this feels like an album in the best sense of the word: every level has a different idea, yet the work overall is cohesive and a pleasure to enjoy again and again. It’s remarkable how effortlessly Simogo takes disparate game mechanics (included a small homage to Rez!) and includes them all together in the levels with exquisite editing. Just as songs quickly transition between verses, choruses, bridges and instrumentals, so too do the game mechanics of Sayonara change up. But this kind of game would fall by the wayside were it not for the stellar soundtrack. The soundtrack is easily one of my favorite gaming soundtracks of all time. Listening to it on its own is very enjoyable, but playing the album in Sayonara is an altogether different experience, and utterly essential.

Great Game. 1 Suggestion.. this game is great. It’s basically an interactive pop album/music videos, and I can’t get enough of it. It’s great to play from start to finish. However… I do have one suggestion. If you happen to update this game, please put an epilepsy warning before the game actually starts. That would be an improvement, so that people with epilepsy don’t download this game by mistake, and start having problems. I don’t want you guys to end up getting sued.

wonderful！！！. I used to play some familiar games like this one, but this is the best one I had ever played. For the difficulty, I think is hard or easy enough to me. After crash times I can pass it. But if you want to get a high rank that you need more practice. So the last one rewards I guess I can’t get it. The good points of the game is 1. Music 2. Fantastic views. 3. Interesting action. I really like the music. I hope I can download them in the Apple Music. If you don’t mind, you can post some pictures in the game to show up the drawings. Some insufficient places is the controller. I use my iPad to play the game. I can’t control the girl turn left or right easily. I have to swish it hardly or it just move little that the girl crashed. I expect you guys would make a good new game. Have to say, if you have epilepsy. Do not play this game. It’ll kill you!

Easily the best mobile game out there for me. Everything about this game is spectacular. The visuals are stunning and the game runs smooth as butter. Soundtrack is exceptionally beautiful, and the gameplay is solid. The only reason I gave this a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is that the touch sensitivity felt off at times. I have it set to High and for some levels it works perfectly but others it feels like I’m barely able to move at all. Despite this, every level was still a blast to go through and I’m doing my best to obtain gold on everything. I also used a controller for testing and I can say it was considerably easier (which is fair) but hopefully the touch sensitivity could be looked at. Great work on the game! ❤️

Absolute Banger. This game and subscription service is what mobile gaming should have been from the start. Games like Sayonara are fun little adventures that have no annoying ads, p2w/ in app purchases. There are also larger adventures if you want them but this game is built for mobile and it is the perfect platform for it. I could easily get 5 hours out of this game alone and every aspect of it is fun. The controls feel great and the music is amazing. The little side story is also a nice addition. Hats off to the team that made this, I know your watching these initial reviews come in and I’m hoping to see more of your projects on Apple Arcade or elsewhere.

WOW... just WOW. First of all, there are no words to express how excited I am for the launch of Apple Arcade! Pay to play (and win) IAP game structure has completely ruined many truly AMAZING games (such as GameLoft’s Asphalt 9), and that is beyond sad. Which brings me to this stunningly beautiful, refreshingly challenging, absolutely AMAZING game, Sayonara Wild Hearts. All I can say is WOW. It has been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a game as much as this. It is a true work of art, and I am hooked. Thank you for this game. And thank you Apple for making such a bold move with Apple Arcade...creating a platform that will finally allow us gamers to get back to the simple, IAP free love of gaming!!!

Did not expect to like it this much. Watching the WWDC, this game looked beautiful but frustrating. I figured I would try it out anyway. The art was beautiful, the action incredible, the story told in a whimsical but exciting way, and to my surprise it wasn’t frustrating at all! I never needed to skip anything because the game doesn’t punish you for messing up. It just makes you try that part again before you can proceed. I played this on my appleTV and unlike other arcade titles this one ran flawlessly. I get easily frustrated by games but I am so glad I tried this one. It was wonderful.

A Masterpiece. As I sit here, sobbing at the ending of Sayonara Wild Hearts, I’m in awe at how beautiful this game and music is. Queen Latifa did an amazing job narrating the game. Note to the developers, make her name the songs every time! Not just the first time. Love hearing her voice! Daniel Olsén, Jonathon Eng, and Linnea Olsson did a stellar job on the album cover. I listen to the full album on repeat. My personal favorite is Begin Again. This is a soundtrack that will go down on my personal favorites. The gameplay is perfect. It’s fast, penalties are nonexistent. I think the true intent from the developers was to experience the game as an album from start to finish, and not necessarily challenge you to repeat instances over and over again, however if you are looking for a challenge, there’s plenty of replay value to be had in unlockable riddles and gold/silver/bronze ranks. Sayonara Wild Hearts is a masterpiece. It’s my Game of the Year 2019 hands down. Thank you developers and musicians for this beautiful experience. I can’t wait to jump back in and cry some more at this beautiful game. Thanks to Apple and Apple Arcade for giving us this experience as well.

Love this game but.... I love this game. It’s a magical experience where you are a woman who goes on a journey full of music and magic. What’s not to love? The graphics are insane, the moving world is basically surreal, so why am I rating this a four out of five stars? There’s one insanely annoying problem with this game, and that’s the pause menu. If the developers can switch the places of the restart button and the continue button, then life would be great. About four times have I accidentally pressed the restart button thinking that it was the resume button, and about four times have I thrown my phone in rage and self-pity. So yeah, it’s a small thing, but such a small thing can create such big problems.

So I am SHOOK. Holy crap! This game is pretty good. The music is not too much of my taste but the visuals totally distract me from that. Everything is so bright and colorful and so cool to look at. The music and the visuals are very compatible with each other and I love it. I do have one small problem though. It’s the way you are allowed to move the character. Yes, I love how you can move very freely and the game does not restrict you. However, it feels stiff and to move the character around quickly to dodge projectiles can be rather hard and sometimes frustrating. I do like the fact that they give you the opinion to skip that section of the level if you get stuck. The story isn’t too hard to follow but if you lose the main plot of the story, head right to the first level and the description of the game in the App Store. I would like another thing like this game and I would like for it to be a bit longer please

Best. iPhone game. EVER.. I’m in shock. I kid you not this game gave me (good vibe) chills by the last level. I can’t comprehend how good the game is, and nor can watching it’s gameplay. If you haven’t download this game I’m telling you, u gotta. Personally I loved the music and I’m sure any other EDM lovers will adore it as well! More importantly though, if you follow the story of the game (which is easy if you don’t skip the short cutscenes) then I’m presuming you’ll be as amazed as I was at the end. Chills bro, chills. Ngl (not gonna lie), this game touched me at the end. Long story short, if you haven’t downloaded it yet, then download it. Thank me later 😉

This game is a masterpiece. I could not have said it any better. This game is something that I have never seen before and playing this just absolutely blew my mind. The graphics are just beautiful and the aesthetic is very retro yet very original. The soundtrack is just beautiful as well, I can get listen to every song hour on hours of repeating them to get the gold rank. It is a game that just defines almost everything that I wanted to see in a video game.

Brilliant game, much improved with iOS13.1. I had previously rated this games three-stars due to poor performance on my iPad Air 2, but with today’s update to iOS13.1 I decided to give it another shot to see if it ran any better. I was excited to see that not only was it improved, it now runs flawlessly. The game is super simple but the soundtrack and visuals elevate it into must-play territory. I’d recommend playing it with a controller if possible; while it’s perfectly playable with the touch screen, it makes it a lot more difficult to attain higher ranks. I played the first half of the game wondering how I could possibly even get a Silver rank before finally syncing an Xbox controller and getting one on the very next level I played. This game won’t be for everyone, but it’s surely worth an Apple Arcade download to see if it’s for you.

Beautifully designed game!. I’m not a huge gamer, and just download games to keep me entertained during flights. This game is beautiful and designed so so well. What’s better is the awesome music! It’s just an overall really cool simple, yet entertaining game. The only down side is that I beat the entire game in a few days, which shows how easy it is since I don’t actively play games. I honestly hope they add more levels or another world soon. 13/10 def recommend.

Still Here!. It feels like you guys just manifested y’all’s imagination so perfectly and beautifully that it just is everything that could be anything, legit no words can explain the visuals. But what are the visuals without the sounds and music? The music made it a thousand times better. And then there is the meaning behind it, the most beautiful part, the meaning of it can be almost anything. It just has to suit yourself, and what you think of it. I think of it as finding yourself and remembering that it’s always been there. Then accepting your faults at the end of it all, and then you just live on. At least that’s my take on it. There are many other meanings you can think of which I like. Thank you, for one of the best story games. [Input cheesy word that means bye]

Wow.. When I saw Annapurna, this was the first Apple Arcade game I downloaded (plus it looked cool). When I saw the Simogo splash screen, I nearly fainted. They’re back! And then the game blew me away like nothing I’ve ever played. From start to finish, my jaw was dropped. The music, the visuals, the different gameplay mechanics are all perfect. Assuming I had the talent and dedication (big what-ifs), this is the exact video game that I would make. Thank you Simogo for reading my mind. Never has the phrase ‘fever dream’ felt so apt. I want to keep gushing. This is just a masterpiece. I can’t get over the rush it gave me every second of the game. At 34, I don’t play very many games anymore, but this gave me the thrill and euphoria of being a kid again. Which is priceless.

Amazing - Deserves a Sequel!. This game was so gorgeous to play. The music is great, as made evident by the trailer (and you can download the soundtrack). Every moment of Sayonara was neon pink-filled joy. If you love over the top anime flourishes, you will find this immensely satisfying. My only complaint would be that I’d like the songs to be longer! Sometimes the levels finishes right when I’m getting into the beat. I realize this would increase development costs, but I think it’s a great opportunity for a sequel! (Played with a controller, which I found great.) Edit: I’ve now replayed this game many times and have listened to the soundtrack over and over again. I retract my comment about longer songs. This is the perfect length. I love that this is a pop album game, not a rhythm game with 200 levels. Instead, make more [games] albums!

Touch Controls. Amazing game, but the touch controls on phone are a bit off. Even after changing them from normal to high sensitivity, there is a lack of consistency. Some levels (mainly the heartbreak levels) have an insanely high sensitivity and I’ll be flying all over the map with the slightest movement. Other levels, the movement is slow and feels like very low sensitivity. I wish the touch controls were more consistent. Other than that, fantastic game and more than worth it.

Great game play it on steam. Idk for me the kind of movements the game expects me to do seem a little too much for swipe controls. Like I'm constantly swiping 2-3 times in the later stages just to be unable to even make it past a part because my fingers can't input that hard of a turn. I would definitely rate it higher but I can't give it more stars because the control scheme is just too archaic for a game like this. Like maybe if the touch movement was 1:1 or something but how it is I don't get enough of a response even with high sensitivity. That's my literal only complaint as I just want to play the game how it's meant to be played, I don't think swipe controls were meant to be played with. Also experienced a lot of slowdown within the game itself, not sure if that's just a game optimization thing or my phone, but it was large enough to make me notice.

Beautiful and fluid. This game does not hold your hand. “Hey,” it seems to say, “we’ve all played rhythm games before, right? So let’s just dive in.” And assuming you have in fact played a rhythm game before, you’ll be glad you dived in. It’s visually stunning. The music is great. The gameplay is fluid and satisfying—especially when you get rewarded for a particularly risky move. The penalty for failure is so minimal that you don’t get frustrated on tricky parts. And the ending brought a tear to my eye. My one complaint is that the driving level isn’t great—the controls are very sluggish, compared to the fast, fluid controls of the rest of the game. But that’s a nitpick in a great game.

Well done app.. I love this app. Well made design-wise, the narration, and the music is catchy. I do notice the all female cast and that is cool as well. As a guy I don’t really care what character I play as, guy or girl, it’s about getting points and achieving goals. This game is maybe one of the main reasons for me to keep paying for Apple Arcade. The constant motion of the screen trying to catch items on the X-Y-Z axis at regular speed makes it difficult to catch that gold rating every level. I feel the controls were a bit funky starting out on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I had to switch to high sensitivity in order to be able to get from one side of the screen to the other in time to catch more gems and hearts.

Meaningful Experience. The music and art of this game always get me emotional. I played it during a breakup period in my life and now I associate this game with the idea of getting better. The soundtrack is excellent and is streaming on Apple Music. I highly recommend giving it a listen after you experience the game. The gameplay is good but I don’t play for the revolutionary gameplay. I came for the for audio/visual experience and I am not disappointed.

Just...wow!. Seeing the play through videos does not do this game justice. This has got to be one of the coolest, most interesting, and unique game I’ve ever played on a smartphone. Every track is an absolute hit. Every play style is challenging and fun. The amount of creativity to create this masterpiece is unfathomable. This reminds of the originality of monument valley. When that hit I was blown away by how beautiful design can be in a mobile game. This game is on a whole other level. This game has such an interesting and solemn story, a wonderful soundtrack. This game alone is worth the 4.99 a month. In fact I would have for sure paid that price or more for the game alone. But if this is just the beginning of what Apple Arcade has to offer, then wow are we all in for a treat. 6 stars out of 5.

Absolutely Amazing. This game is absolutely dripping with cool. Even more than a great game, it’s an experience. From the music to the art, I’ve been totally captivated with it from beginning to end! One note for the developers however, the controls make the game much harder than it has to be. Even with touch sensitivity set to high, I have a hard time swerving from side to side in time, especially in the harder levels. Overall I love this game, and can’t recommend it enough!

This should be the flagship game!. This game is mind-boggling in the amounts of awesome it brings to the table. The music, art direction, gameplay, genre-mixing... all phenomenal. The best part is... it truly feels like a next-gen arcade experience. This isn’t a console game. It’s not a mobile game. It’s an arcade game! It really recaptured the feeling of going to the arcade back in the day, just leaps and bounds better due to decades of lessons learned in game development. This developer is already one of the best in the business and it shows. If this is the sort of thing Apple had in mind for Apple Arcade, and what we can expect going forward, I’ll happily pay the subscription fee for the rest of my life. This is truly that new and unique (old and evolved?) gaming the phone always promised, but never managed to deliver until now. Congrats to the whole dev team: you guys should be very proud of your accomplishment with this one. What a massive achievement! And that’s just what I think after playing it on my phone... I can’t wait until Apple Arcade comes to Apple TV to try this one on the big screen!

SPEECHLESS, THIS GAME IS GREAT. Wow, this game got me hooked, it starts with an incredible story, very well art job with the big impact of its soundtracks that will surprise you EVERY SECOND, gameplay changes alot and never gets boring im playing every chapter again to watch the animations, arts, and very appreciate the way you guys made it. Playing while being high turns this masterpiece multiple by 420 (no surprise!) Apple arcade worth all my money by this game only...

Excellent game ruined by frustrating controls. This game is overall excellent. The visuals, music, overall theme are all great and definitely a showcase game for Apple Arcade. With that said, the controls just using the touchscreen are incredibly frustrating and eventually ruin the experience. Despite sensitivity set to high, it takes way too much effort to move around. Swiping feels as though it barely does anything and it’s very easy to exit the game or jump into multitasking when trying to swipe left or right. Some of the fast paced levels feel nearly impossible because the game simply isn’t responsive to touch inputs and everything you do with the character is far slower than it should be. Others say it is much better with a controller but honestly the game needs to be adjusted so that it can be used with just the touchscreen on a phone.

My favorite Simogo Game since Device 6. When I first heard about this title I was really skeptic, cus I didn’t know if I wanted a rhythm-racing-platformer game, as much as I love the devs. I was wrong, this is an absolute gem of a game that’s HIGHLY polished. The only thing I don’t like are the touch controls. Their sensitivity varies a LOT from scene to scene, so it’s hard to chain together a long perfect run since you’re thrown off guard when the scene changes. Heard it’s much better with a controller so I’ll probably play again with one.

Excellent visuals and music, awful touch controls. The idea and art design of this game are incredible, but the game is almost telling you to use a 3rd party controller. The touch controls are a complete failure: swiping to move wide areas is an assuredly absolutely awful idea and should not have passed any sort of reasonable beta testing. This could be easily remedied by arrow buttons that countless other games already use; no need to introduce swiping because it looks intuitive. I really want to like this game: as an art form it’s beautiful, but strictly speaking as a game out of the box, it falls short by cripplingly bad touch controls. I’ve gotten about a third of the Gold ranks, but it’s unlikely I try to get more because swiping is, simply put, terrible.

Unapologetically Cool. This game is absurdly confident and doesn’t give a crap what you think—and that’s one of the things that makes it so great. I came late to this game. I remember it being demoed at the Apple event, I remember seeing it all over the arcade page, it was hyped constantly at launch, and I wasn’t interested at all in what looked like subway surfers on acid. It turned it to be one of my favorite games of all time. Yep, a shiny, pink and teal, pulsing neon beacon sitting right next to borderlands, elder scrolls, the Witcher, and all those other AAA console titles sitting on my shelf. It’s so creative, the soundtrack is so great, it’s so simple, but it’s a game that you can get good at. Reminds me of something like those Dance Dance games in arcades or Guitar Hero: sure, it’s a game... but you can be a freaking BA at it if you play long enough. I also love the all-female cast, it gives the game something truly special that I really love and find incredibly refreshing as a guy. A seminal title from the developer and I DEMAND more from them in the future. Great work, y’all, no complaints or critique. And that’s incredibly rare for me.

Cool and straight up touching in every way. Other than a genuine “Thank You” to everyone involved in putting this together, I don’t have a lot to say. Every aspect Sayonara Wild Hearts speaks to me personally and it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time around the the 6th level, and cemented it’s place there more so with every second. It feels like plugging directly into someone’s dream game, realized completely and I’ve really never played a mash-up experience like it, and I’m a pretty avid gamer. If you like THINGS you owe it to yourself to play Sayonara Wild Hearts. I didn’t know I wanted to hear Queen Latifah shout “KNOCK OUT” when I defeated a ballet dancing magical girl anime biker gang into glittery heart shards, but someone did, and I’m thankful.

Breathtaking. Sayonara was breathtakingly beautiful in it’s story, graphics, and music. I’ve been left wishing for more innovative boss fights like The Lovers and Death. The quickly introduced game mechanics feel very smooth and natural to adjust to. I never found myself so terribly stuck that it was useless to continue, but felt like I had to keep trying harder and harder to get past that one hard moment, and felt an extreme triumph when I finally managed to scrape past. My biggest problem with the game is the sensitivity. Even on high, sometimes I feel like I’m going at a snails pace and that the game won’t react quick enough. That however, I have gotten used to over time.

The best mobile game. By far the best game I’ve played this year, and certainly the best game I’ve ever played on mobile. I won’t take a star off for this, but I’ll just note that playing it with a touch screen is a little difficult as sometimes my finger is visually obstructing what I need to see to get through the level - I ended up getting it in my Switch and have thoroughly enjoyed that play experience. Highly highly recommend for anyone who wants to play a beautifully designed game with a killer soundtrack!

My review. I absolutely LOVE, this game! Everything about it is phenomenal! The music is absolutely delightful, and the backstory as well as the story itself is so well thought! Every single “level” is completely different and abstract, I still can’t get over how amazing the gameplay is. I love the different “levels” because each one brings you through a very magical and musical experience, like some are things that you would never of thought of for a game, like having “VR” inside another game, or playing the level in two dimensions at once! The point is, this game is the best thing to ever exist. I want to thank the creators for creating such a work of art, great job!

BEST GAME OF THE YEAR!!!!. Edit: It supports Controller, and it makes so much difference. This is definitely the best game of the year on my personal list. I have loved Device6 and Year Walk from Simogo, but this game officially makes them my favourite indie game company. It’s a love story of a broken heart, it’s a set of Tarot cards that tell different tales, it’s a tribute to all the console games we spent our childhood, it’s a heart-warming music album that’s amazing on its own. There are so many thoughts and design that go behind this game, no wonder it took 4 years to make! Story-wise, the ending is so wholesome, it gives me that fuzzy warm feeling inside. I love the details that go in the game, one particular thing is in almost all the levels, you are chasing the hearts for points, but in the same time, if you follow the heart, you will always make it out to the end. WILD HEARTS NEVER DIE!!!

It’s perfect. Sayonara Wild Hearts is one of the most engaging and beautiful indies I have ever played. Its mix of fluid movement and catchy beats made me feel as if I was in a calming and surreal dream. The controls are intuitive enough. Sometimes it felt like the stock sensitivity was just way too slow. Thankfully after I changed it I was able to play perfectly fine. The QTE bits that I was worried about felt... well... like they weren’t out of place or slowed the pace of the game. I did a couple of times wonder why you couldn’t tap anywhere when the prompts appeared. I felt like my hand got in the way of many beautiful animations. Graphics and music is where this game really excels though. There were many times I found myself jaw a gape and humming along with the incredibly palpable soundtrack. Though a funny mental image it really is a testament of how this game really bends your mind to its will. Though I had a few gripes with the controls it wasn’t a big enough problem to hold the game at fault. I still find myself humming the soundtrack to myself and believe that this game will be around for a while. I believe in it’s staying power. It’s a beautiful reminder of how poignant indies can truly be. Thank you for such a great and memorable experience.

Very unique, and fun. The game makes you wonder how a game like this came into being, very creative and was especially surprised when the enemy vomits and... [redacted spoiler]. Basically the game changes mechanics every now and then so you don’t get bored of its’ mechanics. Gorgeous animations, great soundtracks, and runs smoothly on my device (iPhone 7). It’s very refreshing a game like this, especially in 2019. Definitely get it and try it if you already have ApAc subscription! Very worthy of being on stage on ApAc announcement.

Outstanding Graphics For An iPhone Game!. I’m not the type to write a review but I had to write one with this game. First of all I have to say how gorgeous it looks. Cutscene and gameplay seamlessly change. The graphics on this game is console worthy. It’s so smooth and bright. It’s eye candy. Second, the game mechanics are so unique. I thought it was just going to be a slide-right-to-left type of game when playing the first level. As I played more and more, new game mechanics were introduced. There were also quick time events where you had to tap in a short amount of time. There are times when you can move up and down along with left and right. There are even times when you use a freaking gun to shoot things down. It changes it up a lot. Third, the music in this game is beautiful. Music genre ranges from ballet-esque to EDM and Retro Video Game. I played some levels again just to hear the song again! This game is near perfect. But if I had to nitpick, I would say that a very select few of the levels were very short and plain. The Heartbreak levels were the short levels and by the time I finished the level I was like “That’s the end of the level?”. But that didn’t even put a dent in my experience of the game. Now this is an Apple Arcade quality app!

Great game, don’t play it on your phone. This is the game I got Apple Arcade for, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s gorgeous and engrossing, and even though an initial play through only takes about an hour, there’s a lot of fun to be had in replaying levels over and over again to try for gold ranks. The soundtrack is a lot of fun, too! The gameplay itself is fairly simple but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I docked a star because the mechanics are just really clunky in the mobile version; the controls aren’t as responsive as I’d like them to be and some levels are almost impossible because of it. You can toggle sensitivity settings, which helps a little. I recently purchased the game on my Nintendo Switch, and I like the controls there much better. I think this game is a must-play, but if you can, play it on a console, or at least pair a controller to your phone.

Words cannot describe. I honestly think this is the best and all time favorite game I have ever played on my phone. The music is lovely, Queen Latifah’s voice narrating is pretty cool and oddly soothing, and the graphics and visuals are fantastic, they remind me of sailor moon in the best way possible, just with an added tarot card aspect that’s really wonderful. All around just rad and undeniably awesome game. Give it a shot, the message at the end after beating all the levels is one hell of a shout out to girl power!

What? Just. Happened?. I don’t know who taped my childhood and adolescent dreams and made a game out of them, but I’d like my cut please. Although I’m kidding about “my cut”, I’m serious about the rest. It’s astounding to me. I used to put on headphones on a car ride and “run” through the trees, hills and cityscapes we drove through. I knew I was daydreaming but it felt real. Music was my escape, and those daydreams were inspired by my actual dreams. Flying, running and jumping great distances were ordinary pastimes. Leaving my body and floating up to the snow even though it was summer in reality was a touching experience, though I knew it was only a dream. The flying ship with the floating islands which were outlined as clouds... this brings it all back. Thank you for reminding me how free I used to feel! I was brought to tears by level 3. This is, indeed, the work of Strong Creatives. Don’t lose that edge, guys! Also, my cat would like a sequel. He likes the bright lights. (What? Oh.) And the deer. 🤍🦌 Sayonara

One of the best experiences for a mobile game. I haven’t really gotten lost in a game in such a long time and then I downloaded this game just to try it out and see why apple was making a big fuss about it. Boy was I in for a treat. Although the game is pretty short, it’s honestly a joy to play through again and listen to the soundtrack while getting completely sucked into the visuals. It really is one of the games Apple Arcade really brings to the table and it’s a blast to play.

Fantastic Art, Feels like a Tech Demo. I was ready to give this game a 5 star review after the first “boss level” which was a long, intense, and multi phase experience that left me in awe. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the entire game for me, as nothing else really lived up to it. The controls and art for this game are stellar and the aesthetic shines through in every aspect of the game from the menus to the music. This game is somewhat of a hybrid rhythm game experience, where you control your character as she flies down tracks and occasionally pulls off cool jumps in time with the music. The problem with this game is simply that the tracks are way, way too short. In rhythm games one of the appeals is entering the “flow” of the music and experiencing the combination of music and kinesthetic feedback of the video game. 2/3 of the levels in this game felt like they were less than a minute long and would often introduce a new idea and just move on without really expanding on it. By the time I felt myself mastering a mechanic it was dropped for a new idea. The boss levels were also disappointingly short in comparison to the first boss level. Overall it was a fun, interesting experience that left me wanting more. I’m interested in what this developer can do after the success of this game, and hope they can spend time fully fleshing out their creativity into a fully realized product. 4/5

Horrible handling of save states, bad experience ruins a good game. This would be a great game, but any attempt to play it across devices or in areas of spotty service is met with a rage-provoking mess of a situation. The game seems to have no local storage of your progress. So if you are on the subway or something, you have to start from the beginning (and even forced to watch the opening cutscene again). And if you’re willing to do that, it may just boot you back out randomly to the beginning to start over again. This game should have no reliance on the cloud except to sync across devices. And even that it does poorly with a lot of lag between my iPhone and my iPad.

Beautiful but clunky. The game is beautiful and the music is amazing. The largest problem with the fame is how clunky it feels. The controls get changed constantly and there’s no direction on what to do it’s just trial and error. It feels like they didn’t play test the game because sometimes when trying to turn or steer it feels so unnatural and you can’t even turn what looks like a simple corner. Each level is different, which is very nice, but the controls change so you never know what to expect. I go to pick up the game and play half a level and quickly put it down because I remember how awful it feels to feel so extremely out of control of your character.

An insanely creative game that was a joy to play. I’m a 30 odd y/o man so I probably didn’t relate to the nuances of the story as well as I could have. I think I understood it in the end but the story probably wasn’t designed for me and thats ok, because... The insane creativity of the dev team really shone through. There were parts of the game that were very tricky, but you couldn’t get mad because of how cleverly it was done (I’m looking at you Lovers). Everything gelled and it was just really well executed. I hope the Devs have a back catalogue because I’m about to go hunting for it and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for their next project.

Amazing game, terrible touch controls. Don’t have a game pad- hoping they fix the touch controls- very insensitive, and counterintuitive. No left right like most, requires a “flicking”action with a huge time delay. Would like some options like left/right touch as an option to this annoying single finger approach, as well as a fix for the low sensitivity and delay. Unplayable as is, but could be incredible.

Echoing the other reviews. Everything in this game is an actual delight outside the controls. The game is too fast for every swipe to move the player across the screen that little. It basically becomes memorizing where you died last time and anticipating the obstacle before its there. Dumb.

Perfect. Great Apple Arcade title. Easy to pick up and play for short sessions. Perfect for iOS. Visuals and music are great. Never once had issues on iPhone X. I can keep replaying this game, it’s not about the score just a fun break.

How to set control. Control is fine. For people talking about hard to control, just go to the setting in the game, set touch screen to high, instead of default low. One of the most refreshing games I’ve played all year!. Just amazing! I think the developers deserve a round of applause for such a fun entertaining little dreamworld that they have created. It’s a mix of Rez, a little shooter, a little racing, a little button timed action. It’s a little of everything.

Awesome music, laggy controls. The presentation, style and flow are really unique. The sound design in particular is really good, to the point it’s a shame the levels are so short. The biggest issue though is the huge amount of lag/latency on the controls and the poor spatial cues making it hard to avoid obstacles. The cyberspace section in particular had some very sluggish responses even with sensitivity set to max.

Yes, yes, YES!. When I first saw the game I thought “eh” but I played a few levels and boy was I wrong. The games graphics just by its self is AMAZING. Perfection in its finest. Look no further. It’s the best game on the app store. Look dude, I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what kind of games you like to play. I even don’t care what do you play it on or if you spend money on it or not. And this is not an exaggeration considering games like Monument Valley or even Aspahlt 9, PUBG, Call Of Duty I could go all day trying to list the best rated games on the ios system. But this has to be the best game ever created. The game is not designed for you to loose or pay in-app purchases by any mean. It’s just designed for you to have fun and enjoy your time. Every single aspect of the game elements pleases the eyes and the music and the background syncs perfectly with every click or action you make. Whoever worked on this game thank you for existing. I appreciate you. I wish there was a paid version outside apple arcade. I would bought it no matter the price but 4 bucks every month for only one good game or at least what I liked in the arcade is still not the best deal.

Not Worth Your Time. The controls are one thing: wrong. You slide your character back and forth across lanes of a road. This is easier said than done. Even on high sensitivity it’s hard to have a ‘large’ enough swipe to move. Or move enough. In frustration you may go wild in an attempt to move into the next lane, however, you will instead over shoot and crash. In fighting the controls appear over your characters head. All time spent making a BEAUTIFUL game, just to hide all of it with your meaty appendages. This is no Subway Surfer. That game has controls that work.

Nearly perfect. I found this game to be a blast, but also found the controls kind of infuriating. I wish there was a fixed on screen directional pad; many of my deaths in game seemed to be the result of control mishaps vs errors in gameplay. Beautiful visuals, music and concept though. The parallel worlds level would have been amazing if it weren’t for the control scheme.

Seriously amazing experience. The audio and visual experience is absolutely mesmerizing. I loved every minute of this gem. Something about the music and design is very emotional and satisfying. I played this using an Xbox controller so I don’t know how it would translate to a touch experience, but either way, well worth the small time investment to play this through in one go. Best game EVER!. To get straight to the point, this is the best game I’ve ever played, ever! Including console and pc games, and I played this on a cracked iPhone SE. the music is amazing, I’ve downloaded the soundtrack on Apple Music and listen to it on repeat. Amazing, but.. I love this game I think the music and art is a new approach to video games, but if you don’t have the sensitivity up to high don’t play sayonara without a controller. Overall amazing game but you also need two hands to play it one to steer one to press a button. Would give sayonara a five star except for the sensitivity issue I had to have someone tell me to put it on high sensitivity or I would have put the game down and never touched it again.

A extraordinary GAME!! Apple Arcade does provide a excellent experience. Someone said the mobile game will never bring an experience you enjoyed on PC. That’s absolutely wrong on Sayonara Wild Heart. The art, the music, and various gaming modes, plus collections and riddles, finally make an almost perfect game on iPhone. I will say most 3A games on Steam cannot give me such a comprehensive experience like Sayonara. All in all, many games like it only cost 5$ in Arcade. Good job APPLE!

You have to make a sayonara 2!. It’s a really good game, and when I’m made I always play this game to cheer me up with the music and the fighting! It has a good message at the end and I know it’s a bit short but it takes like years to make these games. Thank you for making this game and my favorite level is begin again! Aesthetically incredible, but sometimes difficult to control. See the title. The aesthetic components of the game are amazing. I can’t believe I’m playing it on my phone. My only complaint is that it’s difficult to control at times — it feels like my inputs don’t do very much at certain points. I also experienced a tiny bit of lag at more complex levels but I’m running it on a X, so that may come down to it being older hardware. I really wish I could give this 4.5 stars! Play this game!

Incredible. I typically don't write reviews. From the moment I opened this audiovisual masterpiece, I was hooked. From the Queen Latifah narration to the vast sea of colors and melifluous graphics, it's hard for me to put this game down. This is what mobile gaming SHOULD be. I am enveloped in the storyline and the music is so good. They had me at "Clair de Lune." I hope that this game has future iterations because this, easily, is one of the best mobile games I've ever played.

one of the coolest mobile games I’ve ever played. if you look at the bad ratings of the game, everyone just complained about the controls. if you go to settings and set the sensitivity to the high mode, it will be better. Other than the weird fact that the default sensitivity setting makes the game frustrating, everything else was really good in my opinion. 5/5

So different. So good.. The game is so different from the usual “endless running” game. The music is immersive, the visuals are breathtaking, and the game never lets it get mundane. It keeps you guessing, a new way to fight, a new way to run,a new way to fly, a new way to ride. It’s just amazing how this game is available for “free” with Apple Arcade. This game alone should be worth the $4.99 that is to be paid every month. Just amazing. Keep up the good work dev team.

W.O.W.. I never write reviews on but this is an absolutely stunning game. The visuals are beautiful. It’s challenging but there are so many check points that you never really feel stuck. AND - if you do get stuck, you get the option to move past a certain point within a level or continue trying (without having to watch an ad or spend currency). 10/10 worth downloading 🖤

Best Smartphone Game. This game has everything: music, gameplay, and art. When you start the game you might think it is just about scrolling left and right but I was surprised as I played through how many ways they change the game and keep it interesting. The songs are catchy and the gameplay syncs up with the music. I play many smartphone games and truly believe this is one of the best ever.

A Rare Gem. While not the most challenging game out there, Sayonara’s visuals, soundtrack, and characters are enough to make it a thrilling and rewarding experience. I’m taking my time getting through it because I know it’s not a long game. But even replaying levels, the changes in perspective and interaction remain surprising and fun. While some may see it as more style than substance, those who can appreciate that the style is the substance should enjoy it.

One of the best games I’ve ever played. Period.. I don’t want this review to come across as an exaggeration. The story, the mechanics, the music omg the music is so good in this game. I first played it on my Mac on a long flight and I finished the whole game in one sitting. Very few games have captivated my attention in this way. I’m sure someone will find flaws, but to me, this game is perfect.

I love this game but I hate myself. This is absolutely a wonderful game. The graphics,as well as the music is top quality. Every level looks like an wonderful dream. It’s just nice and special. Please enjoy this fancy party for your eyes and ears. However, it’s just too hard for me and I always have to skip a certain part. Masterpiece of a Video Game. My parents bought me a Sega Genesis when I was a child and spending thousands of dollars on systems and games myself since then, I’ve come to realize that I have been kind of bored of them in my older age. I haven’t had this much fun with one in a while and only wish I could hold a physical copy in ma grabbers. This is the only thing on the Apple Arcade I care about.

Sayonara, Wild Hearts!. Sayonara Wild Hearts is a beautiful game about a woman who finds herself traveling through space after a major heartbreak. The soundtrack is incredible and compliments the fast gameplay so well and I’ve fallen more and more in love with this game since the first time I played it. It’s helped me through a time where I’ve started to slow down due to the repetition of school, but Sayonara Wild Hearts has helped me find my groove again.

Absolutely love this game. Hands down one of the best games Apple Arcade has to offer. I played it as soon as Apple Arcade came out and since I have replayed it so many times. The soundtrack is amazing!! If you love indie games, chill music, and Queen Latifah narrating, you will LOVE it. Best game I’ve ever played. This is not a fake post. I’ve been playing video games since my 7200 Atari and I have never had a game that made me cry. This game is beautiful with one of the best sound tracks I have ever heard. As a father of five I want my little girls to play this and any other woman in my life that needs a pick me up. Oh. My. GOD. This is by far the MOST FUN AND MOST BEAUTIFUL game I have ever played on a phone. It's so artistic and trippy, the aesthetic is off the scales addicting to look at. OH MY GOD THE SOUNDTRACK? Phenomenal. If anyone is looking at this game and this review trying to decide to pay for the arcade subscription.. DO IT. You know when you see an add for a game on here and the game plays nothing like the trailer?? THat IS NO LONGER THE CASE and this game is a prime example. Thank you for making this masterpiece.

Favorite Apple Arcade game so far. Apple Arcade has tons of great offerings, but this one is not only the first one I’ve finished, but the one that has left the biggest impression on me as well. It’s fun to play, beautiful to look at, and sublime to the ears. The gameplay, visuals, and music blend together in such a way that makes for an extremely memorable experience that I will probably remember for a long time.

Beautiful!. I didn't even know that I *like* this type of game, but I fell in love with Sayonara Wild Hearts. They've described it as an interactive music video, and there really isn't a better description for it. The gameplay is great; simple to pick up but difficult to master. However, the music is what really drew me in and hooked me. Truly stunning. Make sure to grab the OST on Apple Music while you're at it!

Lots of Style With a Little Substance. The visuals and music in this game are fantastic and entirely original. The aesthetic stands out, in particular, as so many phone games borrow from the same tired visual concepts. The gameplay itself is simple—drag your character around to avoid obstacles and gather pick-ups, tap occasionally to a rhythm. Unfortunately the controls are finicky and not all that responsive, which adds to the challenge in an unwanted way. Overall, a nice experience that doesn’t outstay it’s welcome.

This is a beautiful game hindered by unresponsive touch controls. I’ve set the “High” option in settings, but High should be renamed “Ultra Low”, then higher sensitivity control options like “Low”, “Medium and “High” should be added. They work okay in the beginning but as the game goes on the game asks for precision that it’s controls don’t provide. I would love to finish this game, as it’s beautiful and sounds amazing but I don’t need this much frustration in my life.

INCREDIBLE. This game was beautiful, from the visuals to the story behind it. It is hands down one of the best games I’ve played in a long, long time, and without question the most beautiful game I’ve EVER played my entire life. It gave me an experience I’ll never forget in a video game. It was great to be able to play your artwork of a game. Thank you for giving me a chance to experience this wonderful game. Wow, this game got me hooked, it starts with an incredible story, very well art job with the big impact of its soundtracks that will surprise you EVERY SECOND, gameplay changes alot and never gets boring im playing every chapter again to watch the animations, arts, and very appreciate the way you guys made it. This. Is. Perfection.. I’m still have memories of this take months after beating it. It just incredible. The controls are as simple as they come...perfect! The story is well...open to much interpretation. Gameplay literally offers a different experience every level. I don’t know any to spoil any experiences. Give this one a try! It will literally impact you!

WOW. I literally had no expectations when I played this game. When I saw the trailers I thought it looked flashy and fun. But wow, who would’ve thought it was this good. The game is really good at feeling modern but bring in some nostalgia. For example, when going through one of the levels and finding mushrooms that just made the heroine bigger was really cool and made me feel like I was having fun like a kid again. These games in Apple Arcade are seriously something else.

GET THE GAME NOW. This is the best game I’ve ever played. It may look like a temple run-esc type of vibe, but it was WAY more than that. It may be a little short (my play time was about 1 hour and 17 minutes when I beat the game), but don’t let that decide if the game is worth your time or not. Trust me it is! I will play this game over and over again and you should too!

Highly Original & Passionately Designed. I don’t usually write reviews, but this game has left a mark on me I don’t think I’ll be able to forget. It is the most original, passionately designed game I think I have ever played and I am typically a AAA gamer. My only wish is it was longer and I will be looking forward to anything else these developers put out. If you have Apple Arcade there is no reason not to give this game a try.

Breathtaking. At first I was skeptical, I was thinking I wouldn’t enjoy the game and that it would just be boring. But then I decided to finally download it and I played it a bit. And I just finished it now and all I can say it that it’s amazing. I highly recommend getting the game. It’s beautiful from story to design, the characters are awesome just like the music. I just wish there were more levels!

Absolutely Gorgeous. This is the first review I’ve ever felt compelled to write as this game has moved me. This game is a simple short experience yet so finely crafted. Very tight controls with clever use of simple touch mechanics make for a very fun and satisfying play. The music and visuals are astounding and are the main aspects that kept me playing through till the end. So glad I stumbled across this one.

After Playing One Level.... This game is 🔥🔥🔥. Kingdom Hearts, Voltron, Might Max and Sailor Moon had a test tube baby and this is it. There’s obviously a story I don’t understand yet but all in. This game is beautifully colorful. The art style is simple yet there’s attention to detail. The gameplay is accessible while also challenging for any type of gamer. The music is engrossing. While I have no idea what’s going on, there’s a sense of urgency. Outstanding.

Great game I’ll never get to finish. The last level is bugged and crashes on starting it. Seeing as this is the last day of my subscription I guess I’ll never get to see how it ends. One of the Best Mobile Games to come out. It doesn’t stop at the style and the gameplay of this game. It has so much to offer from music to the story and might give you a fun challenge. Sayonara is a wonderful game that I absolutely recommend you play with headphones. I cannot express how good of a job the dev team did on this game! So what are you waiting for? Give it a go!

Gorgeous. I haven’t been surprised by a mobile game in so long. What a masterfully crafted experience, the visual and auditory design of the game communicates the subtleties of the story beautifully bringing out feelings with every song. With every new song a new mechanic that keeps the game from ever getting stale. The only negative aspect is at times the controls feel a little inconsistent, other than that this game rightfully claimed a spot on my top 3 games on ios.

Phenomenal!. It is not in my nature to write a review but this game was so great! I enjoyed this game from the beginning to the end. While it was a very short game the visuals and gameplay are groundbreaking. To be honest I did not expect much from this game and it ended up going beyond my expectations! The game was so great I highly recommend everyone give it try and I hope for a sequel, if possible.

Left me speechless. I played this on PlayStation 4 and absolutely adored it. I wanted any excuse at all to play it again so I got it for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’ve always loved Simogo, but whew, this game nearly brought me to tears. The beautiful music, the visuals, the cleverly designed levels, the responsiveness, the art style, the surprisingly smooth performance, everything here just oozes charm. Simogo, please keep making games.

I mean come on guys my jaw is still on the ground. This is one of the best games I have ever played my iPhone... heck on any of my game systems as well. Great job developers!! Awesome game, this is coming from a 90s baby whose favorite game ranges from Donkey Kong Country, Call of Duty and everything in between!

Unbelievably great.. I was skeptical of Apple Arcade. But this game...it’s at a whole other level. It combines a ton of gameplay styles, with shoutouts to Rez and Tron and even STUN Runner and Panzer Dragoon. The soundtrack is amazing too. I don’t normally give effusive praise like this, but this is an all-time classic. Easily up there with the best classics. Download this game. You won’t be disappointed. First game on any iOS device that I’ve ever given five stars.

Pure Joy. This is the most fun I’ve had with a game in a long time. It’s incredibly simple, gameplay consists of only analog movement with occasional button presses, but manages to never be boring by constantly changing up how the game is presented. The art is beautiful, perfectly complimenting both the gameplay and music. Everything is one cohesive piece of art. The game plays out like Rez with boss encounters that are creative in a similar vein to the Metal Gear Solid series. The entire experience feels precisely authored, yet completely fresh and exciting. Sayonara Wild Hearts is the “Thriller” to Rez’s “OK Computer” While the game is only about an hour long, that’s on par with most albums, and most albums don’t have art, story, and gameplay to go along with them. Especially not of this quality. I plan on replaying many times!

Beautiful. This is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played thanks to the excellent music and gorgeous visuals. The controls aren’t the easiest to get used to, at least on iPad. And with different levels putting you in different vehicles, steering can feel frustrating. I actually didn’t know the game supported a controller before playing through it, but now that I’ve tried playing it with a DualShock 4, I find the controller much easier to use than touch. I wish I had known earlier. This game has the kinds of levels you will only master through practice, but you can get through them pretty easily. Mastering the levels unlocks something; don’t know what yet. Overall I consider this a must-play game, so that’s why I give it 5 stars.

Great visuals, but controls need work. I think the team did a tremendous job in creating amazing visuals but the controls makes this from being better. Lack of response on the touch screen creates very frustrating controls. Even under high sensitivity, I am having difficulty controlling the player in order to move from side to side. While in the beginning this wasn’t as much of an issue, for more advanced levels, it has created more frustration.

So cool!. I absolutely love this game. I never write reviews for anything but I was so astonished at the graphics of this game. You can tell that the creators have worked really hard on it. The beautiful graphics with the combination of the amazing soundtrack makes playing it an unreal experience. Every level is so unique and exciting and the story behind it is so neat. I don’t think I can even write a review that does this game justice.

Awesome game but I lost my save file and had to start over. Made up to the 4th or 5th level and my data was erased!? Had to start over I hope this is just a one time occurrence. Update finished the game, and giving more hearts for the visual aspect that was done really well! On the other hand the control mechanics can use some tweaking because it is hard to control your character. It is a short sweet game that is a great rendition of a women moving past heart break. It was very fun to play but the controls ruined the experience some.

I was a little kid in the 90s again. I couldn’t stop thinking “Wow, that cool” during the events that occur in the game. It’s just a casual game and the play style is like all those “Run” games, and even though I hate them, I couldn’t stop playing this. It is not challenging or that much entertaining, but it is, COOL! I really love the art style, I love how the music matches that style and so on. In the end, it was a nice experience and I am happy I went with it.

Disappointing. This game is what happens when you focus too much on visuals and forget to make a game that’s fun to play. The busy design of each level leaves you feeling dazed and confused, having only managed to scrape through the level. It doesn’t leave me wanting to play the next level. By removing precise control and supplanting it with floating swipe controls, it loses all of the crispness and clarity that you can get from similar rhythm games. This lack of accuracy leaves you feeling like perfection of each song would merely be an accident, rather than an accomplishment.

Like an Anime fever dream!. This game is stunning in every way. I’ve never experienced a mobile game this fluid and dynamic before. It got my heart pumping and is a visual/audio delight at every turn. I found the touch controls to be a bit difficult mostly because my finger would get in the way of the action. Highly recommend using a game controller and a great set of bass pumping headphones. You will not want it to end.
