DO NOT BUY. I bought this app thinking it would help me study for FF1 & FF2. I was able to get the interactive course to work sometimes. Most of the videos won’t play and the app won’t allow you to advance to the next slide. Example the lesson may say it has 8 slide but you get to slide 4 and can’t go any further. (Chpt 7.3) Also don’t even think about getting the audiobook to work it crashes the app every time. No matter what you do.. I havnt even tried the test prep.. I mean really at this point I can’t even study so what’s the point.. Don’t spend the $50… NOT WORTH IT!! Just read the book and find a study partner in your class.

Audio book portion does not work.. Audio book portion does not work. When I hit play, nothing plays. When I skip forward, the app closes. I re-down loaded the app and audio book down loads. No change. I’m out $30 and extra study material

Loved it then it froze. I bought the interactive study content for $25 then after only 11 out of the 100 plus slides the course froze and I’ve tried everything and it won’t allow me to continue. I didn’t get what I paid for. Content was great while it lasted though.

Would not recommend at all for study purposes.. 30 bucks into what initially looked like a really cool interactive study app only to be massively disappointed, if developers are reading I’d like a link to get a refund. As a career firefighter and father I’m literally crunching time every second of every day, we spend so much time studying for certifications and training our whole career we barely get to be home. So I fail to see how implementing a RIDICULOUSLY LONG timer in between slides helps any one. The timer is so long I literally thought my phone had froze!! IFSTA I thought my phone froze your timer was so long!!! LOL. Instead to come here and read comments that so many people have already experienced this and complained and still nothing has changed? I wish I would have read prior. I’m a fast reader, like many other guys that are actually on the job we don’t have hours to wait on timers, we came here to learn about fire. my advise to anyone reading just buy the book. Total waste of valuable time. Refund your would be nice IFSTA. Thanks.

Interactive courses. When will the interactive courses be available? Due to covid we are learning the chapters individually without instructors or classes this would help a lot.

Audiobook and courses No longer work. I purchased all of the content (which isn’t cheap) and now the courses and audiobooks won’t load. The audiobook won’t play even on WiFi and the courses give me a “403 Forbidden” when I open them.

Is there a way to sync my purchases from my phone to my iPad?. I have found the app to be very useful, however I purchased the app on my iPad so I could have it on a larger screen, but it is requiring me to repurchase the same content, quizzes and interactive courses, again. If there is a way to sync purchases between the two platforms without having to spend another $40 that would be great.

Paid for the courses but the videos will not play. The videos will not play

Course prep section isn’t working. I just purchased the course prep section for $25 and I’m unable to swipe through each section. Is this going to be updated or am I getting a refund? This doesn’t help when I’m preparing for an exam.

Help. I bought the audiobook when I first downloaded the app and it was fairly pricey but worth it at first. Well, now it’s asking me to purchase again like I never bought it. And I didn’t notice that until after I purchased the book chapters THAT DON’T WORK at all. Please help me or refund me my $70 or more on this app. This is way too expensive for something that doesn’t even work…

Bought the audio book and test bank 6 months ago now is asking to repurchase it. I bought the audio book 6 months ago so I could keep it as a reference for when after class was finished. Now the app wants me to buy it again! I deleted the app and reinstalled it to see if that would work…….nope! $35 dollars wasted. Don’t forget the $15 you will need to pay to get the test bank, which isn’t working now either after I deleted the app. Fifty dollars wasted on an app that doesn’t work after you pay for it. Update: deleted app again and hit restore purchases, I got my books back

Don’t waste your money. Paid for full access and all chapters are forbidden. Deleted App. and re-downloaded it and still having the same issues. I was able to access one chapter prior to everything becoming forbidden. What a waste of money.

Not even working. Won’t let me purchase any of the extra things. I’ve deleted and downloaded multiple times and it won’t let me buy the tests all that it will let me buy is the audio books

Great resource. This app is fantastic, in essence what I’m learning off the hard copy. My only complaint would be chapter 23, patient assessment and CPR, my copy won’t load past the 2nd page, apart from this, I love the tracking of my progress and I’m basically getting an in classroom experience at home when I need to review something

Amazing. I just started fire standards and this app has helped me a lot so far. Highly recommended.

Forced content timers make it impossible to move through content at a reasonable speed. I bought the audiobook in the app and the content for study material. It was quite expensive for both but slightly less than the cost of the book. It’s great in theory but really unusable in practice as it doesn’t allow you to move to the next page without waiting on a ridiculously slow timer even if you’ve already gone through it once and are looking for something specific. Why cant I just move around at my own pace?? Also if you get a question wrong, back you go to the content and have to watch every video again and wait because of the stupid timer. I’m not a slow reader and I find it infuriating to read a page and then have to wait several minutes before I can progress. What ends up happening is I put my phone down for several minutes and come back later so I can go to the next page! Please fix this issue! 10 hours to learn 1 hour of content and I thought I would be able to use this as a reference later on, but not if it has to be slow and sequential.

Practice Exams. Practice exams are great but I wish they would mix up more questions. You always get the same questions and the answers are always in the same order. I’d like to be more challenged on that regard.

Timer Issue. Reading the review with three stars on the front page, I should have known. Over a year later and the timer issue still isn’t fixed. You have to wait for the timer to time out before you can go to the next page. The worst function I’ve seen for an educational app. A refund would be appreciated.

NOT the exam questions. I just took FF 1/2 - this app was helpful but as a heads up these are NOT the questions on the exam. Similar but of the 150 questions i had, zero of these appeared.

This app is a joke. First off you pay 25$ for the app which is a lot and then you need to pay extra for the audio books and the final thing I find most frustrating is when doing the courses there is a ridiculously long timer until you can move to the next slide. If you try and go back to a chapter you need to start all the way from the beginning and it’s really frustrating. Why would you even put a timer? This app doesn’t give you any certificates… I don’t see the logic in this. I wish I never bought this app and I hope You don’t either. It MIGHT be helpful if they fixed all of this.. just read the book and do the online quizzes, it will help more.

Interactive Courses. This looks to be a great review for the actual class. It still never takes the place of the face to face teaching and training. Also, is there anything you have to do to go on to the next interactive course?

LOVE. Well, finally with the fixed bugs that the app actually lets you listen to the audiobook now without crashing, this app is amazing!!!

Very helpful and convenient. This app has been helpful to grow beyond by simply reading the book. I have noticed significant improvements in my knowledge and understanding level from having this handy supplementary tool.

Interactive course?. I have been waiting months for this and finally I have the first 11 pages and again the coming soon? I’m about to take my test and I think that would have helped but I’ll never know and I’ll be shocked if it ever gets finished. It would also be nice to have the option to just purchase chapters you want to listen to in the audio book instead of having to purchase the entire book. How do you know 90% of students pass who use the interactive course? How are 90% getting them but mine still says coming soon? Is there some special hand shake? I’d love to get in on it!

Please fix it.. Love the app and been using the interactive course to help me study, but it has issues. The slides don’t always orientate to fit my screen and sometimes when they do, they cut off text. Trying holding my phone sideways makes it to where I have to scroll to see everything, the problem there is that it easily changes to the next slide when trying to scroll.

App quites. Bought the book on audio to supplement my reading when driving. After the first 2 chapters none else will download and when I hit the download butting the app quits. Would love to use while driving without service and using data. Please fix

Interactive app. I like the interactive app, I do wish it had more interactive components to it.

Courses Feature messed up by last update. The last update made the courses feature extremely glitchy. I am unable to thee the entire course screen on my tablet . When I try to scroll left and right to see the entire text on the screen the course glitches goes to the next screen or leaves me stuck on the page. Very very frustrating when trying to learn new information. Please fix

Audiobooks don't download. Audio books work with data but if you download then play they do nothing and app crashes. Not worth the price with that feature not working.

Good app but too expensive. This is a great app to help you study, especially for those who are in the station, already hitting job town multiple times at night. But everything is so expensive, you have to buy the book then the app and all the crap in the app. Why are we trying to rob the people who are putting their life on the lines for others?

FLASH CARDS. Hi not sure if we have it in the app or I can’t find it something I’d strongly strongly recommend is Flash cards with the question and the answer to study off of. Most of the test from our program have the question and just studying these flash cards would be a BIG help thanks guys great app so far had it now for a day.

Good study questions. The questions are in-depth. Some of the questions need to have more detail. I have also found some of the questions give the wrong answers. If you have doubt about the answer; the review at the end of the quiz shows the reference chapter and page.

Carry over. Why is it that there is no way to sign into this app? I have it on my phone but if I want to use it on my iPad then I’ll have to purchase it again. Why won’t it carry over to other devices? Other than that I like the app, but wish I could use it on more devices.

Don’t buy this wish I read the reviews first. Purchased this today spent a lot of money on this to help me study bought the audio book and doesn’t work there is no contact information to speak to anyone really feel like I was scammed

Slightly irritating with user friendly options.. I made the in app purchase for the audio book feature, but soon found out the audio book and course work are two different purchases. I don’t think this is made clear enough, but my haste to make a purchase didn’t help. I’m happy with the contents of each, and would have made both purchases anyway. The chapter course work portion has a long timer before switching pages, making it frustrating to review a chapter, or skip ahead to where you left off. I don’t see a need for this timer. The audio book is paced a little fast for me, and slowing it down comes with significant audio issues. Not a dealbreaker. Great material, and it shows how much hard work went into making the app. I think a few revisions to make it more user friendly would greatly benefit this tool for people studying and refreshing their knowledge on the contents.

Free? Not really. Don’t bother downloading the app unless you’re ready to buy the exam prep or book course content. There’s not much you can do with the app without spending money, so while it’s free to download, it’s worthless for exam prep or for gaining course content unless you spend additional money. Disappointed and uninstalling.

Help. I downloaded this a few days again and did the free version and it was amazed…since then I bought the audio version, finished chapter 2 and now nothing is working? Please Help! I’m hoping it’s a simple bug that can be updated. Amazing app that needs a little cleanup

Audiobook Doesn’t Work. I purchased a few things in the app…..the audiobook doesn’t work…….. chapters didn’t open Apple refunded me for the chapters which is really cool but I’ve tried reinstall it nothing has worked. My Internet connection is super fast and still I have nothing.

Don’t waste your money.. It’s horrible on the iPad. Screens don’t fit properly, if you have to stop you must start the chapter course over. Very glitchy. I’ve been teaching FF1 for 20 years and this contains great information presented horribly. To the point of unusable. The price reinforces the old attitude that ifsta is concerned with dollars before anything else. There are much better study options out there for your ff1 exam. The IFSAC test is the same no matter who produces the book you learn from.

A must have.. Amazing app! Relieved to have it before the state testing. Makes studying on the go a breeze.

Support more devices!. The app is nice and it has plenty of helpful things to study and learn. I think it would help if the app supported MacBook. So you can actually take tests on the MacBook.

If the audiobook isn’t working. My audio book wasn’t working the first time I opened the app and purchased the audio version. And it wasn’t loading properly. And after a little bit I deleted the app and reinstalled which it let you restore purchases so you don’t lose money. Then try downloading the chapters again and it should work

Bummer. After purchasing a hard copy of the book for class. I also bought the app to help with studying. I saw that there was an audiobook. Being that I drive 1 hour to and from class,4 days a week, I thought it’d be a helpful way to get ahead on reading the book, even though there was an unplanned additional cost to have the audiobook outside the original app cost. I had to Pay extra for the quiz portion as well, so I’m still unsure what the fee for the app was for since everything is an additional cost. Now, two weeks of using the app & audiobook, the app is no longer working. I’ve downloaded, used wifi, and used cellular service. And the audio book is no longer working. There is no way to contact anyone. For technical support , or a refund. So being mid academy this is a major bummer.

Was happy until the update.. This was a great app to help me study and go back and refresh my memory. Then the update happened. It will no longer allow me to use the stuff I paid for and that’s after I refreshed my purchases. I’m extremely unhappy with this product now. I have spent a lot of my own money buying Ifsta’s books over the years. This is unfortunate

Audio books not working. For some unknown reason the audio books are not properly working. The main reason I bought this app was to help me with reading. I feel like I just wasted my money.

Very good app if working…thats the problem. Updates come few and far between, I recommend purchasing physical test booklets, and other study Materials etc. this app crashes a lot, not reliable while your in academy, customer service is pleasant however aren’t always able to help. Worth a try and could be a valuable resource if working, just as it is with this profession reliability trumps convenience. 🙏🏾 good luck best job in the world, but this isn’t the best study tool. ✊🏾🚒🧯🔥

Pretty disappointed. When I spent $35 in the app, I was under the impression I was buying everything I needed to buy. Come to find out they have individual purchases for each section in the app. I’ve already paid over $100 for the book itself and have the IFSTA to do everything else this app gives. I was just hoping to be able to take practice tests wherever I am to help study since I can’t always bring my laptop everywhere. And then I’m trying to take a test after chapter 1 and it says I need to purchase that as well. If I knew that I would’ve just purchased the exam portion for $15 and not spent the $35 on parts I can already do with what I spent $100 on the book and IFSTA. Overall very disappointed with how they charge for each section. I wish I could get refunded and get the exam portion instead.

Exam Prep Reports not working. The content is solid and helpful. However, the reports for the exam prep are not being recorded since the update. Not helpful when I use those to see which chapters I need to focus on before tests.

Already purchased. I have purchased this already as I am taking the class currently. I went to open it today and it’s telling me that I need to purchase the audio book again. Can this be looked into please?

Videos. When watching the skills videos they don’t have sound. It’s easy to watch the person in the video go through the skill, but it would be nice if there was some sort of narration

Videos. I unlocked The entire app. The exam prep works great but the skill videos have no sound and they also won’t play on full screen. Hope they fix it soon! Otherwise I would give it 5 stars

Essentials 7th Edition. I Can’t buy the Exam Prep. Is there a way to contact the developer so i can get assistance, so i can enjoy the full experience of this app. It shows me highlighted yellow tab to buy, but every time i push it no response. All the other purchase tabs work, not sure why this one is not working. Would love to test my knowledge from what i’m reading on the audiobook, but unfortunately i can’t. Please help!!!

Redeem old purchases. I bought most of the app on my iPhone, then when I wanted to sit down and study on my iPad it did not let me redeem my purchases or transfer through from my iTunes account. Guess I’m studying on my phone…

Great ressource. Great ressource , but I wish they would sell the actual book via the app and deliver to Canada!

Exam Prep. just took my OFM FF1, mainly used the exam prep to study. Exam prep was completely useless. Would not recommend.

Fix the interactive courses. Still unable to scroll through the pages of the interactive courses. Really frustrating especially after purchasing them on this application and come to find out it doesn’t work. Please fix this issue.

No study deck questions. I just purchased the app today (the exam prep and the audiobook). The audiobook works very well, but there are NO QUESTIONS in the study exam prep. They were separate purchases and each chapter is unlocked, but it actually says ‘0 questions’ under each chapter heading and every time I try to select a chapter or all chapters there’s a pop up message that reads ‘select a chapter’. I’d give the audiobook 5 stars and the exam prep questions 0. Hopefully it’s just a temporary glitch that will be fixed soon.

Can't play the audio book chapters. Purchased the app yesterday in hopes of listening to the chapters while I drive, but noticed today that it's not working properly, just asking if the developers could fix this bug problem or I'll probably be asking for a refund of my purchase.

Great resource! Minor bugs to correct though. Overall an excellent resource! Minor bugs in the system though currently I can’t listen to chapter 24 in the audiobook And I’ve run into a few smaller issues too including the app restarting so therefore losing my place in the audiobook section Overall this has been a great help though!

Needs improvement. The feature I was most excited for was the audiobook… But it doesn’t remember where you left off. Yes I know I can bookmark, but it would be absolutely fantastic if it would just remember where I stopped.

Won’t play audiobooks. So installed this earlier on my iPhone so I could listen on road trips and stuff, made the purchase to unlock all audiobooks but they won’t load or play. Made sure everything was updated so I’m not sure where to go from here.

No family sharing.. Both myself and my wife are volunteer fire fighters and I downloaded the app on the iPad and paid for the chapters. However I can’t listen to the other chapters on my iPhone and my wife can’t use it on her iPhone either, which means we can only use the app at home one the iPad.

App broken. Paid for, and keep getting a clock when I try to hit next on the chapter slides. Completely useless, no app support. Waste of money

Learning. Excellent app works well. Nicest one I recommend this app.

Purchased twice and still no full access. I originally purchased the app back in May 2019 and didn’t have any issues I then purchased the app for a second time after I tried resorting the original purchase. After the purchase was completed and they had taken my money for a second time I then lost full access to the app. I don’t recommend buying the app as you will just lose your money! I have been waiting for a response from the organization but still waiting. If I could give this a negative star I would lol..

Full screen videos freeze the app. Can’t put videos into full screen without the app freezing.

Crashes Every Test. I have the updated app and iOS software version, app crashes every time I take a test.

Transparency goes a long way.. It should be posted what you are buying. Once you get the app you then have to make several other purchases.

Poorly functioning. Audiobook stopped functioning. Not enough test questions.

Every chapter is an additional fee!!!. This would be a great app if every chapter and exam wasn’t an additional fee. And not even a cheap fee. I paid the $24.99 thinking that was the total cost to utilize this app. I feel like an idiot. Refund would be great...I’ll be waiting.

403 ERROR. Great app but for some reason the course is down after I purchased it.

Keeps asking me to pay extra to access the audiobook portion. I purchased this app for $24.99 and the practice exams have been very helpful. When I try to listen to the audio book portion only chapter one is available and it prompts me to pay another $34.99 to access them.

Payment. I downloaded this thing and payed for it in the wrong card on accident and there is no way to cancel the order and when I try to download the audiobooks it kicks me out of the app

Don’t switch devices. Super frustrating. I downloaded the app on my android phone and it worked well when I had that device. Now I have an iPhone and there is no way for me to restore my purchase. I already bought the physical book, one set of the audio and study guide and now I’m expected to do it again?

Videos sloppy and app closes unexpectedly. The videos are poorly done with bad viewing angles obscuring details, especially in knots videos. Full screen videos don’t work on my iPhone. App unexpectedly closes often.

New update. Can some explain why that with your new update I lost all of my purchases. It’s already ridiculous this app doesn’t come with your overpriced textbook, but now I’m trying to study for an exam tomorrow and supposedly I now have to buy my audiobooks and practice exams again. I just bought them like a month a ago. Extremely inconvenient if you’re thinking about buying this app, don't, buy the fire exam prep, by code 3 app.

Audio books don’t load. I bought all the audiobooks, and when trying to listen to any chapter other than chapter 1 they won’t load or they crash the app. This was a waist of money. And provides no help to studying the material.In addition the interactive learning doesn’t load properly or configure well within the app.

Great resources!. Preparing for a company officer’s test and this has been very helpful.
