Great app with minimal hiccups. Overall the app works amazingly and helps me manage my security easily and efficiently. It does occasionally get stuck if I had a live feed open and then try to open the app later, and I have to close the app out completely and re-open. It’s not a huge issue, but when I’m trying to quickly check an alert that got sent, like for a package delivery, those seconds lost can be irritating. Would also really like a simple way to change what the default ‘image’ is for my camera’s, the screenshot that is saved for them is from when they were first booted up, which is a pile of leaves, and my technician’s pants. Would really like to not see his pants on my home screen all the time.

Do not get this system. The app, the customer service, and the devices themselves are useless. A simple more affordable system is more worth your time and security. Our system was set off because we couldn’t disarm it in time and NO ONE came to our home, called us, nor checked in. Our doorbell has malfunctioned for MONTHS and ADT charges us to diagnose THEIR faulty equipment. They cannot fix their own equipment so the only option they provide us is a new $1,000 doorbell and monitoring system. This is a black hole not an investment. Don’t even try to call to get help. No one knows what they are talking abut. Each person gives a different story and passes you to someone new. You will be on the phone for a minimum of 2 hours and probably won’t get your problem resolved even after waiting, being passed around, and having to retell your story every time you are transferred.

Needs panic button. There’s a panic button on the remote, but you have to be in the keypad’s range for it to work (I’m assuming, since I have to be in range to activate/deactivate the alarm). It just seems logical that the app would have one (but this is probably why the rep wanted us to spend the extra cash for a second keypad). Also, the app is sometimes unusable. I normally set/deactivate the alarm from my garage, but the screen often remains white/nothing loads or it hasn’t updated the current status (reads “disarmed” when it’s actually armed and vice versa). I either have to run from house to garage/garage to house or I’ll just drive around to the front and go back inside to arm the house. It’s slightly inconvenient as I have limited mobility, but I live in a major city…so I’m going to always arm my house regardless.

Problem. Every time I view a live video, the App gets stuck in the “live” video mode making it extremely difficult to set security using the App when I am in my driveway (whether same day or next day) preparing to depart. In other words, after the App is placed in live video mode, it refuses to move out of live video mode. So if am in my car trying to set security, it could take me ten plus minutes to force the App out of live video mode so I could set security. Very annoying and frustrating as I cannot view live videos because if I do, then the App will insist on staying in the live video mode (like it gets stuck there) and I will have an extremely difficult time getting the App to allow me to set security prior to me driving away. So I have to spend lots of time trying again and again for like 10-15 minutes until the App finally moves out of “live” video mode, and allows me to set security before I drive away. It’s now been doing this for like two months. Another issue, I took security off on arriving at my driveway, the App indicated security was turned off, I then opened my garage door and heard the alarm had been set off. Had to rush into my garage quickly to reach the security panel to turn security off (again). Nellie

I want to see how to go about ending my contract. I am not happy with the service you provide I have continuously made that fact clear My indoor monitor has not been operationable for 3 months and never once have you contacted me to notify me nor see why. I contacted your office and was told I needed to buy out my contract which I did. This morning I was sent an email stating that the amount you told me was not enough (I kept and have ALL documentation and correspondence stating everything said). So I called you highly educated billing department. While on the phone he stated that the price you sent me as a confirmation of my payment made was wrong as well as the price you quoted me was wrong as well. While one the phone he gave me not one price quote needed but rather gave me one price, then contradicted that price with another price I needed to pay, but then again contradicted that price stating I was owed a credit. Just when you think ADT can’t lower the bar y’all really surprise me and do.

App always fails when you need it the most. This is the worst app I have ever used. After our three years is up we want to look for another company. I can’t believe people choose to pay for this service monthly. I paid a lot of money for cameras and a doorbell which doesn’t always even record us walking by in daylight more less in the late afternoon. I gave two starts because the app/system will notify me if my alarm goes off and records sometimes. But not when someone tried to get in and when we are outside walking right in front of the cameras. The app is almost useless. Now it does work sometimes but forget about looking at who is at your door it takes so long to load if it even does at all. The ring door bell several of my friends use works all the time. I am so disappointed in ADT.

This company is a thief. Horrible customer service and they do nothing to genuinely help customers. From the beginning I tried to be rid of adt within my 3 day period which they came up with some crap excuse as to when I was actually able to get out without paying any money so I was stuck with their crappy system and even worse customer service. Fast forward to 1 year and 4 months my sensor kept being triggered in the middle of the night so on several occasions I had to unarm my alarm so it stopped waking up the entire house. I called and they told me they would come out to figure out what was wrong and no one informed me they would charge me to take a look at the system and change a a battery I could have changed myself. When I saw the charge I called to find out what it was for and I was called a liar and told there is nothing they could do about it. I can’t wait for this contract to be over so I can be done with this disgusting company and the people who work there. I would not extend my contract with ADT even if someone was paying me 1 million dollars.

Service. While I haven’t had any trouble with the app, customer service is awful. I just now called about my $100 Visa card and she told me oh they are busy you can call tomorrow. I said I would hold so she hung up on me. When I’ve had to call numerous times about a camera not working she said well it’s your internet’s fault not ours, turns out it was ADT’s fault. The man who installed was great, the technical support over the phone was useless. The next guy who came out wasn’t helpful and said it works, an hour later it stopped again. The next guy who came out changed the camera we’ve had problems with and finally fixed the problem (he gets 5 stars). Customer service is the worst I’ve had to deal with in a long time (zero stars if that would be available), maybe teach them to quit acting like I’m wasting their time and making them do their jobs, stop talking like robots, reading off the screen and not listening to what the customer is saying, and stop hanging up on customers!

Excellent system, very competent and pleasant installers.. After almost 3 years of struggle to find someone to competently tackle my 115 year old house, ADT came to my rescue. I actually had already paid for a system that did not work. I wanted a doorbell/intercom combination, a new security system to replace a 40 year old system, and exterior video surveillance. The ADT salesman completely understood everything I wanted and knew how to accomplish it. Since my primary residence is 1500 miles away, finalizing the arrangements required trust on my part that was well placed. The eventual installation went off without a hitch. The installers were competent, pleasant, well spoken, good explainers. All-in-all a satisfactory experience.

Security. I am very disappointed in my overall experience with ADT. The app siphons everyone who has access to your system and home through the same google password-so there’s really no way to know WHO arms and disarms your system… my Son could drop his phone without knowing. The person that picks it up can open the app with a simple swipe and can access my home account to do whatever they want to. I’ve started calling it, “a false sense of security.” When I set up my call in account I asked for everything to be password/safe word protected. To this day my others in my home can call and change things on the account, or access whatever they want to know without being asked for a password or anything. I’m in a scary situation, and got ADT because I was fearing for my life. Luckily it hasn’t turned out as terrible as I had once thought, or I’d not be here. That being said, my life could have been made so much easier if these above mentioned things could be made more secure. That is what I paid all the money for.

I like the old system better. We got ADT because we had it before at the house we were renting and it was so much more simple then. We had fobs that we could press if there was an emergency so they switched to using the phone app instead but you can’t push a button for am emergency in the phone app. The control panel before was buttons and this new one is touch screen. Same thing where before the old panel it was easier to call for police, fire and medical because it was right there on the panel. The new touch screen one you have to search for where to find the emergency buttons. That’s great because it someone breaks in or there is an emergency I can’t use my phone to report it, instead I have to go to the panel in the other room and find it on the app. I still like ADT but I wish I could switch to using it like before.

Disappointed-Control App about 10 years outdated. Just got ADT installed a couple of days ago. Salesperson told me that Google worked on my system and the system had Bluetooth functionality to turn off alarm based on Bluetooth communication. Both of those claims are not true at all. From a review of feedback here, it looks like Pulse was okay and discontinued and this new Control app is a downgrade. This is very disappointing. I may cancel the service. Would like to see this system integrated with Google. Would like to see Bluetooth or GEO services to turn Alarm on and off based on user location. Would like to see auto-schedules for arming alarm. Would like to see glass-breaks, motion, and zones on app. Would like to see app integrated with Phillips Hue, Ring, Arlo, Home and end-user-configurable. Personal photos Screensaver would be nice too, as this was also a Pulse function. Unfortunately, looking at the feedback, these requests have been made but nothing has been done to implement suggestions even though they,” appreciate your feedback and listen to suggestions “. Lastly, there are a number of false reviews here which are very easy to identify by the ,”everything about ADT is great” reviews. Come on ADT employees and friends, you can do better than that.

Worse, customer service ever. I would thought dealing with Comcast was bad. I also thought dealing with ATT was bad. Then I met the people at ADT. You can’t get in touch with them. If you have a problem ever I’ve been trying for three weeks and all my calls just get dropped last Friday they conveniently left me on hold for hours. I don’t feel as a customer as a consumer that I’m respected. I’ve emailed them. I’ve sent them messages on the app. No one ever gets back to you, so I just stop paying my bill then they’ll call me, Vivian, another hand I called once so many answered. I got a follow up phone call the following day. I had a following another follow up call the next business day, I feel this is a better customer service-based company ADT doesn’t respect me or you as a consumer from keeping all of Adt’s equipment giving him the one finger salute and we can discuss this matter in court when I show the 30+ phone calls I made to ADT trying to get my system repaired but that’s not good enough

Significant Delay with App. There’s a significant delay between the app and my system. I’ve had two technicians comes to my home to check my panel and equipment with no issues found. The last technician had a chance to replicate the 5-10 minute delay with the app and said it was truly related to the app, which he couldn’t fix. Not only is this an inconvenience, it’s now a safety issue. I armed my system via the app the other night and it took 15 minutes for the command to transmit to the system. The app is also inaccurate. It’s saying my front door is unlocked when I manually locked it. I upgraded the system to specifically have automation and the ability to use the app. Can you all update the app?? This wasn’t an issue until February of this year. I feel as though customers should receive a discount until this is resolved (based on similar complaints I’ve seen).

Ease of use & Content limitations. App performance has been stable, responsive and generally easy to use. There is a significant gap however, with understanding app and system functionality. Examples: On the main panel screen there is an option to access help videos. Similarly the same option is available in the app but neither one offers comprehensive help. The app doesn’t link you to videos or isn’t even “smart” enough to know what system you have installed to link you to 40 or so different security systems. (On top of that the home touch panel doesn’t have any videos nor links to videos whatsoever. Instead it has a lame prompt that tells you to go look at their website. Conveniently, neither the app nor the website can point you to instructions on how to create scenes (which purportedly is a main, primary feature of the system). A little higher level planning could have gone into the app design to offer help on each feature listed. Pretty silly that it does not

Alerts. With my recently installed system, I am not able to get my alerts thru my messages. I would always get an alert siren when motion or person was outside of my home or in another part of my home. This system only sends it to email with a short beep. You wouldn’t hear that if you were sleeping. This my 3rd system thru ADT & I always had the Pulse System, obviously this is not a Pulse & all my activity would send an alarm thru my messages. Very disappointed in this system & as I have to check my Email every morning to see if anyone is on my property. I should be made aware that there is a person or animal is on my property immediately!!! This is more of safety matter & a big concern to me. Tell them to put my Pulse back in or rip this system out, as it is not doing it’s job. Thank you, Diane Longo

Fix reports. I wanted to review the history of when the system had been armed. The reports “feature” is almost useless. I navigated to the arm report but it was set up to only show the history for today. I then set up a new report and selected the last 7 days but still got a report just for today. I went back and confirmed 7 days was selected but same result. The reports only give an option to download to PDF or CSV, there is nothing created within the app itself from what I could see. There is a review archived report that pops an alert and says the reports have to be run for the first time. You get this alert EVERY time it’s selected. All I wanted was a way to clarify some confusion about the last time the system was armed. Your app offers nothing simple or intuitive about how to get this information.

Frozen videos on app. Same as other reviews here…a few weeks ago the videos on the app started to appear frozen. 30 second clips would only show a vehicle entering the road and the full time would expire and suddenly the vehicle was gone. The video completely freezes and doesn’t let you view the entire video from start to finish without “gaps” in the footage. When you login to the website on a laptop, the video plays fine with no gap and doesn’t freeze. I’ve called ADT several times and they blame my internet provider. I’ve called tech support and all they did was email me steps to remove and re-install my devices on my own without live help from someone. I have no internet issues in my home and can stream all other content completely fine. Listen to your customers! We are paying a lot of money for these devices and monthly premiums. Fix the app!!!

Cameras/service go on and off. I’ve had ADT for almost a year now. The camera goes offline all the time. Since the camera is mounted on the side of the house it’s impossible to reach without a ladder, something I don’t have! And I don’t know what to do to it anyway! The door bell camera takes a picture of the wall most of the time. I wish a camera had been set up instead. It hardly every takes pictures of things that happen on my porch. But I sure can check the siding on the wall! Also, since the week the tech installed a smoke detector, it has been beeping, all the time! I would have thought by now the battery would have gone dead! Now maybe it’s just a faulty sensor. I looked up how to change the battery and according to the documentation, I have to know what kind of battery it needs. To do that, again a ladder is needed. And the battery could be an unusual size but I don’t know until it comes off the ceiling! Not particularly happy with the service and I don’t feel like calling them every time because they want me to do all kinds of stuff. Kinda like cable tv. I don’t want to deal with all the quirks!

Need to Integrate Nest Camera. I am new to this app and am coming from the Pulse app. While it has some very nice features compared to the Pulse app, including the very feature rich Google Nest doorbell camera, what I miss the most is not being able to see the doorbell camera on the Control app. Instead I have to go to the Google Home app to see the camera feed, live or recorded. That prevents me from quickly seeing that feed and also using it as a trigger for automations, like turning on the porch light, like I was able to to do with the Pulse app. I’m also not able to automate the app to close my garage door after a certain amount of time. It will only notify me that it’s still open. Please incorporate those automation features from the Pulse app into the Control app. Thanks!

Junk!!!!!!’. When I first had my ADT security cameras installed it worked great, for about 2 weeks. Since then, I have had nothing but camera failure on my front camera. I have had an ADT technician come out to fix my front camera, losing connection issue, for at least 3-4 times. Every time they get it running, 2 weeks later it disconnects from my WiFi. Also, this ADT app is just as bad. I was having problems connecting to the internet, using Siri on my IPhone 12 Pro, using Pandora or anything else when I am outside, or in my car. I deleted the ADT app, then everything worked on my iPhone. Before you ask…….Yes, I checked my internet and it works great. I tried rebooting my router, deleting and reinstalling the ADT app, using the WIFI extender the ADT tech put in, and relocating the extender closer to my router. It would work for at least a week or so, then the front camera stops working. Now, just like the last 4 times, I have to get the ADT tech to come back out and fix it again. The tech replaced the front camera, since it is the one camera that keeps losing connection, the last time he came out. And this app causes internet problems with my iPhone. I am not impressed with this app, nor my front camera.

WORKS WINDERFULLY. I use the inside cameras to watch my 91 y.o. mother with dementia paired with the fall monitoring necklace. Cameras alert me during the night if she should make movement (like out of bed). I rely on these cameras. Before getting them I was sleeping light as a feather always awaking to look at bedroom camera to make sure she was ok. Now I can sleep like a puppy because of the alert set on the bedroom camera. It really gives me a peace of mind and I can watch her when I have to leave the home during the day. I would suggest if you care for the elderly installing inside cameras to watch over your loved one. Get the health system and outside door bell camera too. You won’t regret it.

Don’t even think about buying an ADT system!. It is almost worth the almost $3000 it would cost me to have the whole thing removed. It has had problems since the day it was installed. Four calls to customer service = one tech finally scheduled. The equipment is junk, has a delay between recordings so all activity is not recorded. The equipment is only slightly better than the Pulse cameras I used to have with ADT. I wish I had purchased my own system and installed it myself then I would have control of the system. The software does not accept changes, once it finally takes the change it won’t save it. The software does not have enough choices and I can’t just go to the web site, I’ve got to download an app. I can’t change things on the app, have to go back to the web site for that which directs me to install an app. Customer service has hung up on me with a polite hold then disconnect. If it happens three times it’s not a coincidence. The alarm goes off in the middle of the day, the night, whenever it wants and it wasn’t even armed. Now I’m stuck with this junk for five years or pay $3000 to scrap it. I Hate This System!

Very disappointed. Sad to say I’m not impressed with adt. For as much as you pay every month for their services you would think it would be better. When I first got the system activated I was told by the person who came out that I could set the cameras up to only record if the panel was armed took me months after starting the service in my name to realize they won’t record being set up that way, called customer service and no one had a clue what I was talking about or even how to fix the problem so my cameras have to stay active at all times and you only get 6,000 clips a month. Moved into this house with the system already set up and active in previous owners name and I still had to pay money to have it installed (which was already done) and money to activate (which was already active).You can’t just switch it into your name guess they need the money. I can’t watch any of the videos from the cameras on my phone without first restarting my phone, and that’s very annoying. I get notifications 3 hours after something triggered one of the cameras. Also I’ve been able to enter my house a few times without the alarm panel going off, that doesn’t give me and my family a piece of mind. Unfortunately I’m stuck with the service for another 2 years. Wish I would have done my research before taking over the contract of the previous home owners.

ADT SECURITY. I have been with ADT over 16 or more years because they were the best security company anyone could have until recently. First I had them to install camera on a home I stayed in for 19 years and never had any problems. Well since then I sold that property and move into another home. ADT comes out to install two camera on my home and after the installing kept jacking up the price I received a bill for 1500 dollars.. I called to speak to a representative and all of them just lied over and over and claimed they had took care of my account and to make matters worse, the two camera I had installed on my home doesn’t work half the time. When I get an alert that the camera picked up a car or a person, I can’t look on it to see whom or what it was.. ADT use to be the best security company ever now you can’t hardly get anybody on the phone and once my alarm went off and no one called me checked to see if everything was okay or nothing.. I am in the process right now trying to find a better company after all these years I have been with them and even told my mom about how good they were and she has an account with them, to only be treated so unprofessional by representatives that claim they are getting a supervisor, but only to put one of their coworkers on the line… ADT you are losing a lot of customers to include me. I have had it…

Can't get any help from ADT. I set up a system for my mom's former home, which my brother and I now own. The account is under my name. It has been in place for 7 months and I have not been able to get it to work correctly. The only thing I can do via the app is see the system's current status. I can not arm or disarm the system remotely, which defeats the purpose of having a mobile app. I have contacted ADT customer service by phone, chat and email/text and have been told by two agents that it is "normal" for the Control app to only display system status and that we can disarm the system at the panel. Neither my brother nor i live nearby, so if we need to arrange for a delivery or emergency service, it would be nice to be able to disable the system remotely. I can do that with the Pulse app for my house. Why can't I do that with the newer control app. I will be exploring other security syst options

Save your money!. We pay 100$ a month and have had nothing but issues. Hours of videos of the wind just blowing in our backyard, call and get told to adjust our recording settings is all they ever say, and we have done it several times just to suffer the same issue .. We won’t have any videos recorded for the rest of the month, due to being at 90%. I got a notification telling me to clear my videos out, I spent hours deleting videos only for the customer service rep tell us it doesn’t work that way, once you meet max limit it will no longer record until the next month. We asked her then why it sent notifications telling us to do that and she responded with “ I’m really not sure” 🙄 a woman in my neighborhood had a man try to get in her front door and was wondering around her house, NONE of her ADT cameras picked him up and she only got proof for cops from her ring cam.. save your money, they lock you in an impossible contract and don’t care about customers satisfaction. Our alarm has also been triggered several times and they don’t even call.

Frozen image and unplayable video. This is a message to the ADT app developers department. I’ve had my security system for about 4 months now. This is from an iPhone XS running on iOS13.7. I have 1 doorbell cam and 2 outside backyard cams. Everything was working fine up until 3-4 weeks ago. I have informed the ADT customer service and they’ve sent a tech to my place to try and diagnose everything. On the ADTControl app my RECORDED videos do not register well anymore. The audio from the doorbell works fine but the video is frozen(video actually moves at 12seconds only 1 frame). The 2 backyard cameras don’t play any saved clips at all. Everything works fine on the live stream. However ON THE COMPUTER, logging into the control center all recorded clips works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app two times already. Still a problem. I’m still giving you guys 5 stars still because I think this is just a bug you guys can fix, and I’ve been enjoying the system. Please ADT try and fix this if possible. Thank you.

Never worked like the Salesman said it would. This system is garbage, none of the camera settings work like they should. When only having the person setting set it will still detect moving cars and practically everything. The wind blows and there goes one of my “ fifty a day snaps”. With the dogs setting off the camera still picks up my dogs because from the operator words “the dog is too big”, what she really was saying is the app does not work like that state it does. Called customer support to wait thirty minutes to end up having them jack all of my setting up even worse and basically took all of the security out of the cameras, then hung up on me. The day I agreed to the plan I swear the salesman said the whole system ran on its own network, after the install I figured out it’s not and he changed his wording to “only the panel has its own network”. Not satisfied at all with ADT from support to the cameras it’s all trash, will be leaving once my contract is done.

App has very little functionality. I really don’t think I have ever written a App review before, but felt the need to now. This app really provides very little functionality for controlling all the things the app can do, and there are very few instructions available on how to control what you can. Often it seems to require you to log in to the website to control it, but that defeats the purpose of the app. I also don’t understand why I can silently arm the alarm but not silently disarm it? If anything I’d think it would be the opposite, but regardless, both should be an option. Additionally, I really thing there should be some sort of panic button available as an option. If ADT can consider having the app work with IFTTT it would be great - my separate cameras automatically turn off and on when I leave or come home based on GPS location only - I would think an alarm system could/should have a similar option.

2 issues +. This Command alarm system app offers access by Touch ID but it isn’t persistent; ie it times out in a short period which is ultimately useless! Also, the app is quick to alert me to an open door or something something but I have to use the house Control panel to do anything about it! + This Control system came up in my searches as the system that will allow my Nest system (now Google Nest) cameras to be switched on / off with the typical Home / Away / Sleep (Stay) alarm system modes. The sales person who came out to my home affirmed that this system would meet my needs. It wasn’t until the installer came and explained to me that I was misled, that perhaps a future version of the Command system will meet my needs, but the system I was sold does not. I wasn’t happy.

Camera is horrible. It is MORE common for my inside camera to NOT work. I had someone out to look at it and he had told me that this was the norm. If I would have known it was going to be like this I would have saved my money.I find it hard to believe I can view my front and back porch with no problem daily but the indoor camera doesn’t work. I work full time and I tried going to the support tab of this app and it kept circulating just like the camera in my house. I don’t have time to chase around someone to come and find a solution. There are other ways/services to be able to check in on your home during the day. Right now if I was asked about ADT, I wouldn’t recommend this service. Part of me feels like I made a mistake.

Good, But Missing Important Feature...Panic Button. Have had the app for two weeks and it’s good for turning the alarm on and off, but have recently noticed it’s missing a simple, yet important feature: a panic button. Maybe I’m missing it, but I can’t figure out how to activate the alarm, if say, I see someone walking around my back yard on the video when I’m out of town. My alarm won’t activate until they try to enter, but wouldn’t it be better to scare them off early? Am I missing something? How hard would it be to put a big, shiny red button on the Home Screen that will let me activate the alarm from anywhere? I called and was told I would need a $150 panic button fob that would only work if I was home, wouldn’t help in the situation I described though. Thanks in advance for considering this option. In response to developer: No, not at all what I’m looking for. I want to be able to trigger my alarm from my bed if I want, or trigger my home alarm from 1000 miles away if I see someone walking around my yard. My car key had had this feature for 20 years, why is it so hard?

Video Playback issues. I have had ADT for over 10+ years when including the previous Brinks Home Security Service that ADT purchased. When ADT first offered the Updated Touch Screen Control System I thought it was going to be very good but after having it for a while now. I must say that there is room for huge improvement. First off the let me say this about this application it works fairly well but it’s biggest flaws are Video Playback which requires users to download to your phone, tablet many of the recording to view that are supposed to be viewable and played within the app. The second issue is related to the recording camera system which records inconsistently, the ADT camera(s) do not consistently capture people such as delivery people entering my property. Connectivity issues also occur whether using a strong cellular connection or Wi Fi, ADT technical team needs to work on better hardware and software integration with the app.

Calling for issues!. I am having issues with the system not connecting to WFI. I have put in my password. Calling for assistance is refi umpuste called several times in the last few days. I’m not a fan of being on hold anywhere from 20- to 45 minutes. My sensors have not been maintained for the last 7 years. The ADT app doesn’t do what I need. It takes note of every occurrence while I’m at home. Doors open and closed windows open. I don’t need an account of that when I’m at home only when I leave and set the Alarm. The worse part is that I make my payments and can’t get any assistance and when I do call and finally get thru, I have a technician tell me what to do or try fix it myself. Not how I visualized your alarm system. I have contacted Xfinity and they ran a check of my system and it is operating ci Correctly. Maybe it’s time to chance companies. Still waiting one my cell bridge promised 4 months ago. Not great service l.

Safe and Secure. I would recognize for anyone living alone this is best thing for feeling secure and especially at night. It lets me have a good night’s sleep. I would recommend at least a camera on each side of your house. If you heard a noise you can check your cameras without leaving your chair. This is the safety part. You don’t know what is out there. It could be so and you can call someone for help. If you were to go out and there is nothing you could still fall, no phone, no help. The ability to arm or disarm remotely is wonderful. Say I have it armed and someone you were expecting came to the door and had access to enter by viewing the camera you can verify it is the person you were expecting and disarm. Your gone for a few days and when you leaving you forgot to set the alarm you have ability to set the alarm. When I go to the grocery store, I can stay in my car and disarm thereby freeing my arms for groceries .

Saved videos don’t play. Like with a previous comment from a different user; my saved videos are unplayable. The audio from the videos is fine. The frames however don’t move. For example I can hear the movement but the frame is frozen and not matching the sound. The previous user said they started having this problem after 4 months. I got ADT in mid September and it is late December now. That comment was from a year ago and it seems ADT hasn’t fixed the issue yet. I called customer service and they had me clear the cookies from my phone and signed out of the app and back in again, but that didn’t work. Unlike the user I’m not giving this app five stars because it doesn’t function how it should. On top of the I get just a white screen some times and an error when trying to watch live feed. This apps needs a serious update and ADT needs to make sure their products don’t run into issues after being installed for 3-4 months.

Alarm. The whole system is okay at best with the exception of the door lock that is tough to lock and unlock even with a key, this to me is unacceptable as well should for some reason someone doesn’t lock the provided deadbolt and not being able to lock it from your phone should an intruder be lurking around. I feel I shouldn’t have to pay the fee to get a new one and have to pay the service fee, because it worked just fine until the warranty expired and not being able to sound the alarm with the app from my phone and notify the authorities in case of an emergency which to me is crucial. Who knows what the criminals intentions are. By the time they gain access into the house it’s too late as at least in our home we have no where to hide. I don’t feel I should have to get a guard dog to protect my family. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Also because the fee to have them monitor my home is to high for such a low quality system. In the end, I would not be able to recommend this system.

Delayed outdoor camera notifications. My front and backyard camera notifications are about 2 minutes delayed. That is, there are two whole minutes from the time there is a camera detection and the time I get an app notification about it. That is unacceptable. The whole point of having cameras with a detection system is to get notified in a timely manner. Customer stated the 2 minute delay is normal because that’s how long it takes to upload the 30 second video that gets recorded when there’s a camera detection. So the notification is not sent until 2 minutes later when the video is finished uploading to the cloud. If that is the case, then the app engineers need to include a separate notification, independent from the video upload notification, that is sent out as soon as the camera detection is triggered. Then a second notification with the available 30 second recording can be sent out. In two minutes, someone could walk from the front of my house to my backyard and break into the master bedroom without me having any idea about it. This should be a pretty simple but significant fix that can be rolled out in an update. Ring is able to do it so I don’t see why ADT control shouldn’t. I’ll revise my rating if this issue is fixed.

Alarm. Alarm panel goes offline but all my other devices & services stay on. I can not call after 11pm to get through if my system doesn’t work, & even though I switched services, prepaid, have 2 accounts they keep charging me for a home I don’t live in & paying for 3 services. I got it resolved after 3 months of harassment calls, they cleared the fees, then charged me again & said I was past due on a previous account & that my current account services would be interrupted & would be disconnected. They have called me at 5 & 6 am multiple times to tell me my new account is ready to be serviced & a tech to come out, but I have no new account & that set up was 4 months ago. . I have documented all my calls. Now my service is down yet all my other devices are connected & can’t get through or set my alarm! What’s suppose to be peace of mind & was great for a few months, has turned into a pain in the &$$. Make sure you go with the company at not an authorized dealer, & while I pay more for a brand name I should have read all the reviews. I’m very disappointed.

NO APP SUPPORT. I really hope someone is able to help me because if you click “App Support” here it’ll take you to the ADT webpage where you can click “Command Control” help, but when you click on that you get “page not found” so there is a total dead-end on ADT Control App help. Also don’t bother calling ADT customer service. It’s a nightmare. I have read everything I could and looked at user videos on YT but without ADT offering app support for its own app it’s pretty hopeless. One thing I would really like to know is how to change the screenshot on the home screen of the app. It’s like the app randomly chose a screenshot from one if it’s first doorbell recordings and it won’t change. It’s annoying because we don’t like the screenshot image and there seems to be no way to change it. Even though the doorbell video it was screenshot from was deleted. Why is there no way to delete or change this? If you click on the screenshot it just takes you to the livestream of the doorbell camera, but there are no options to edit the screenshot that dominates the homepage of the app.

Should have stayed with Vivint. Not only does this system require 3 devices and 2 or 3 apps (depending on how many extras you opt for) for access to all the system has to offer, but it does not work half of the time. It’s not my internet service. I have a brand new home with all new wires. All my devices that use Wi-Fi, work without issue. This system is very user UNFRIENDLY! I used Vivint in our last home. Other than a few issues over a 5 year period, it was very reliable and easy to use. Everything worked off of one app. With this system I have the wall touchscreen, a google home touchscreen on the counter, and my phone. Sometimes I have to have more than one device in front of me to complete a task. Locking the door is done from one app, the doorbell camera is on another app and, the other house cameras are on a totally different app. Very disappointed with the service, the system and ADT a whole.

Need this feature!. The app is easy enough to navigate. I so appreciate the ability to control the system remotely! There are a few timing/loading issues where I can’t access my camera feed consistently. My chief complaint is that there is no button to contact the authorities, which I think could be a critical option. If the call center/base has to get the alert that glass is shattering/a door was opened while my alarm is set to away, then call to confirm I’m okay, then dispatch, that might be previous response time that I do not have. I have seen with other security companies their apps include an “alert the authorities” or “emergency” function. I’m just saying if I’m flustered, potentially gearing up to fight for me and my family’s lives after the app/system alerts me of a breach, every second counts.

Cool until I needed it. Dear whoever responds to these. I’ve already called and emailed so don’t leave a blanket response to this. I got this installed last October and it was working fine. Videos were recording, I could access them and watch them. Things have been quiet so I wasn’t worried. Until I went out of town for 6 weeks. My neighbor called and said that some decorations have been stolen off of our patio. No problem I have ADT Control. I go in and nothing has recorded since December and my camera in my backyard isn’t even working. I called and there was some things at home I had to physically do to get my system reset. 2 weeks later I go home and have to physically unplug the camera and do a reset of the system from my control panel. These aren’t app problems except I had no idea any of these things were a problem until I checked. If my camera is down, I need to know. Also why did I stop recording? You apparently have to go in and create rules for recording but in my app the area where I create a new rule is “greyed our” like the button is there but I can’t click it. Why is it so hard for me to control things on my ADT Control APP? Also the lady I talked to in customer service was wonderful. No complaints there.

Great customer service and good equipment.. We just recently installed the ADT system. We put sensors on everything that opens to the outside. We installed cameras and listening devices. I have to admit the system is fascinating to me. I look at every time there is an alert/alarm. We can hear and see and talk to people in our yard, on our porch, etc. We have been able to communicate with county services, mail woman, contractors , etc., from where we are at. Fascinating. I suppose in the age of FaceTime and all the other multi media available today it should not intrigue me so. But I am hooked. 😛 The monthly rate seems high. But we haven’t looked at all of the services actually available in Macon. If you get what you pay for then we have a fantastic service. Recommended.

Very unhappy customer. This app was working great for a few months. Now I can’t use it unless I’m connected to Wi-Fi. Will not work with cellular data on AT&T. I’m so angry. ADT keeps saying it my phone. Funny all my other apps work fine including my ring doorbell. Nothing but problems. Ok, so after calling multiple times for help and tons of brainstorming I figured out why this app wasn’t working on cellular data. Simple fix! Hopefully I can help some people out and save them the aggravation. I went to settings on my phone. Then to cellular data. Scrolled down to my apps. Long behold ADT was turned off. Turned on and working perfectly now. No one suggested that. Kept saying it was my WiFi and cell phone company. Not the case:) Alexa now works with this app since I turned it on in cellular. Goto your Alexa app. Look for add security device. Choose ADT control. Yes, pulse website comes up , but just put in you ADT control password, not my ADT password. Two separate apps. And you got a connection:). I also turned Alexa off on ADT my keypad before I did this.

Most of the time I like the app.. I gave the app four stars because it hangs up. It’s great that the app has the fingerprint recognition on iPhone. It’s great that there is a pin. What’s not great is when your standing at the front door with puppies waiting to go potty, you open the door only to hear the alarm go off, you have a toddler and these puppies that will happily pee in the floor if you walk away from them, and you already know it will take you longer now than that five seconds to make it to the keypad. What do you do? I reached for my phone and hit the app. Nothing happened. I wait a couple seconds....nothing. I close the app and open it again. It worked fine! I turn the alarm off, I take the dogs out, I think everything is fine. Meanwhile ADT is calling my husband, who was not at home. Then the police department showed up. When the seconds matter the app really needs to work! Outside of that, we probably use the app more than we do the keypad.

Help- A loyal customer. I’m in a group chat new development and recommended ADT and got every recommended item to my new home. I have 300 plus triggers a day of recording,loss of connection when I newd the system, door bell goes offline and door bell doesn’t work when it feels like it. It has been just the worst experience ever. I never mentioned it in our group chat. I had movers over the other day and adt door bell offline. The door has to be reconnect and add device. I call service tech left after 15 min and charge a fee. Great system but the support not there. You guys should be killing the market. All my neighbors have worthless products they install themselves with no police notification. Just help is all I’m saying! I can’t even let my mom in at the door coming in for thanksgiving or hear my movers when they are dining the door bell and it’s offline again. Just speechless! Right now waiting for a call back adt 45 min wait. This has turned into a full time job between the irrigation, and adt.

Useless. 1) The delay in notification after the doorbell rings COMPLETELY negates the advertised function of being able to “answer the doorbell from anywhere.” By the time I get a text that the doorbell has rung, whoever rang is long gone. Not to mention that after I receive the text, I still have to log into the app to see who’s at the door. 2) Halfway through last month, I apparently reached my “upload limit” of 3000 clips. My options: pay more or change my settings to only record jumbo jets landing in the driveway. My uploads were supposed to resume on the 1st of this month, but of course they didn’t. Halfway through the month, I finally called and the “specialist” had me spend 20 minutes running up and and down stairs turning things on and off; of course none of that fixed anything, and now I have to spend my Monday waiting on a technician to drop by and figure out what the problem is. BOTTOM LINE: THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK I HAVE EVER PAID FOR MONTHLY. I have been an ADT customer for a very long time, but this whole crappy system makes me want to shop around.

Do the work don’t put off for a month. My door can’t b armed because the sensor doesn’t work . The tech didn’t hv time to finish his job it was 830pm. I need more work done! Not fair I called I can’t get him to come back fir one month! Yes I live a d t been with u fir 35 to 43 years! It says 20 years but it’s more like aprix. 40 some years! Lots of company’s out there I paid insurance on my adt service! U paid 1600$ they cheated me out of outside cameras I got three cameras inside. I wanted two cameras out side two cameras in like I use to hv. ! Nit paying more money than 1690$ I will quit a d t first. .if they don’t straighten this up. I need tech soon not in a month! Scam. I’m from Mississauga Ontario, I used ADT security 5 years ago, after 3 months of use I don’t like it and want to cancel it, the agent from ADT told me we need to pay the rest of the money for the next 5 years because of the contract, but I remembered during the contract sign up the seller told me there is no contract and can cancel anytime, and he didn’t mentioned anything about 5 years. I signed pretty quickly. At the end I have to pay $1800 for nothing, the biggest scam I have ever met in Canada as a new immigrant. Don’t use ADT and don’t be scammed!

Email notifications. I hate all the email notifications every time a car or person goes by my house. I have requested assistance but ADT has not offered assistance. Also I signed up because of the discount I was supposed to receive on my cell phone. I’m still waiting for a SIM card and three calls to my sales person and still no follow up or service. I do not recommend ADT/Telus.

Poor control of length and frequency of recordings. Not useful for the training purposes I bought it for. (Swimming). I catch opening the cover of the pool and then closing it but nothing in between. IF i stay in long enough it catches a 1 min clip which isn’t helpful. Am planning to return it.

Terrible app, terrible service. Video upload limits reset at New Years, upload limits reached by mid February. App won’t load the help page, and doesn’t communicate with the doorbell 70% of the time.

Terrible, rip off. It does not do anything it is suppose to do! And it hardly ever allow you to view your live feed or save any of the the things it is suppose to record. Pretty ridiculous, had to call over 4 times in the past 3 months in order for someone to “fix” the problems just for it to have the same problem 2 days later lmao

Can’t ever seem to get my issue resolved. I signed up for a trial with ADT Telus and canceled with the first 10 days. They never came to take the system out, I’m being charged monthly for something I canceled. I keep calling and keep being told they will get back to me but never do. Hoping this review gets someone on it like a manager.

Unnecessarily difficult. For some things this app makes us navigate all over for checking a simple demand only not to be found.

Garbage. Garbage. Can’t even see through out the day only when it gets triggered. Our cars still got broken into cause the alarm was never triggered. Now it is by itself sending out alarms to police and then telus is contacting our relatives?? Very confused why this is happening. On top of that we cancelled within 30 days.

Pathetic and waste of money. Pathetic app, such a waste of money. Does not capture and saves the video or images of activity. Customer service takes hours and hours to connect and then disconnects.

Don’t waste your money. The cameras will send you over 100 email alerts a day on the low setting (on high you’ll get 200+), and on top of that the cameras don’t even pick up everything they should (like the night our son forgot his keys, and came in through a bedroom window well within view of the camera, but didn’t get picked up, glad he wasn’t a burglar). We’ve had bad advice on the wireless smoke detector from customer service when we called because it kept going off line. When I followed what he told me, I set the smoke detector off and the fire department arrived. Good to know they responded, but bad that this happened while listening to customer service. I wasn’t warned that this could happen and wasn’t told to alert the monitoring company (something that customer service could have done for me). The contractor that installed everything initially did a poor job, got in and out as fast as he could and didn’t seem to have much experience in the work. We needed to have a Telus (not subcontractors) employee come out to set things up properly, put the smoke detector in a usable area, fix the cameras, etc. He was really good, gave us good advice, taught us about setting up the controls more to our liking - what I would expect a “real” tradesman to do. When first signed up, the salesman told us if we weren’t happy with the system, we had 30 days to cancel or we’d have to go with the full 3 year contract. We had numerous issues in that first month, and wanted to cancel, but the number we were given, nobody answers and no provision for leaving a message- so not possible to cancel. We’re stuck with it, whether we like it or not. AND WE DON’T LIKE IT.

Poor design and application. The phone app itself fails to offer most basic options like changing the time. I know it should automatically correct the time based on the time zone, but it didn’t. It also does not link all the other home security appliances they installed.

Buggy. Super buggy - log in issues etc.. Sloppy responses - when I submitted about a forgotten password it said “we’re sending you a message about your username”

Unsatisfied. Our back camera has not worked for months. When on the odd occasion it does, the picture quality is very poor. It’s takes to long to start another recording. Approximately 3 minutes and only records for to short of a time. We had one of your sales people here in the beginning of October and he told us that he would pass on the information. So much for that. With what we pay and only get about 45 % satisfaction, I think we will start looking at other companies. The only good thing that I can say is that on 2 occasions our detector went off. On those occasions the ladies on the other end of the conversation were Fantastic. Do not get this system. The app, the customer service, and the devices themselves are useless. A simple more affordable system is more worth your time and security. Our system was set off because we couldn’t disarm it in time and NO ONE came to our home, called us, nor checked in. Our doorbell has malfunctioned for MONTHS and ADT charges us to diagnose THEIR faulty equipment. They cannot fix their own equipment so the only option they provide us is a new $1,000 doorbell and monitoring system. This is a black hole not an investment. Don’t even try to call to get help. No one knows what they are talking abut. Each person gives a different story and passes you to someone new. You will be on the phone for a minimum of 2 hours and probably won’t get your problem resolved even after waiting, being passed around, and having to retell your story every time you are transferred.

Cannot arm away unless you physically leave?. My family has had ADT for 10+ years and I must say I am disappointed with this ADT Connect. It offers all of the same features as pulse, MINUS some features that pulse provided. For example, I can’t arm the system to Away unless I go down to one of my exterior doors, open, and shut the door, and then run up two flights of stairs away from my motion sensors. Luckily, if you arm the system go away from your app, it does not make you open and shut an exterior door to arm. However, the fact that I cannot arm my system from the keypad to away is quite frankly ridiculous. This system is almost too restrictive in the way that it works. If I am paying monthly to have this system installed in my home, why am I unable to use it the way that I would like to?

Video clips won’t save. I discovered that my video clips when motion is detected at my front door began not to store as usual. This happened to me once before when I called customer service I was given instructions on how to go into settings on the App and turn something back on that she’d mention will automatically be turned back off monthly as a part of a new update. I can’t remember what it was but it’s kind of annoying to have to keep manually turning back on. I’ve recharged my battery and I noticed activity but no stored clips.

New ADT Control System is Major Upgrade.. We had old “Brinks system” for over 20 years and were happy with ADT remote monitoring. We upgraded to new touch panel because ADT could no longer repair our old system. New touch panel system works very well. Nice to get verbal confirmation that system is armed or disarmed. Issue # 1: Would like to be able to change device names in app. Right now both front and kitchen doors have the same name and I can’t change them. Issue # 2: Key fobs only work when standing next to touch panel. Will not work outside the door just about 5 feet from touch panel.

Grandmother entering house alone.... I am never afraid with ADT and my wide angle lens doorbell camera. Using my cell phone app, I check the porch and can see the driveway just before I get home. Thank you ADT for service to my house for over 20 years. Never has there been a problem with anything regarding equipment that they have not graciously address in a timely manor with experienced technicians. Only a couple of times in all these years have they had to come to my home as they were able talk me through steps needed via phone. I have never been tempted to switch companies. You get what you pay for!

Sigh.... Helpful to have access to your system from your phone, but...This is what is replacing pulse? Definitely needs updates. Hope this is the beta of ADT Control and nothing like what it will be in the future. Also forgive me if this has already been said but I believe there should definitely be a panic option on the app itself. For those of us monitoring our homes or businesses from security cameras we may be able to see something the alarm system is missing. And I can think of several other reasons why it could be helpful to trip your alarm without using a key fob (which are basically worthless and not to mention mine supposedly “didn’t come with one”). Is this already a feature in the app? Am I missing it? Please help us ADT!

Cameras doorbell and driveway. Power outage for 6 hrs. ADT system will not reset. Router reset to router I’d and password, not the ones we created. I was told that by the AT&T installer that would happen. So to make it easy on myself I set everything to router information. WIFI reconnected the ADT system on the panel, but the cameras won’t reconnect. Restarted the router wifi 6 times. The doorbell seems to be extremely hot, driveway camera is up to high for us to get too; 84 and 76, no ladders allowed by doctors. So what’s my next steps, other than a new company. Contract is up in November, you all don’t monitor videos anyhow, so I’m paying for ding dongs on all my doors and windows only. Where’s my service I’m paying for? Between ADT and AT&T I am waiting my money, except for the DIRECTV portion, by AT&T, each month. Senior Technician was awesome! Had both our cameras back on line in 45 mins. Was great working with her.

Can't get any help from ADT. I set up a system for my mom's former home, which my brother and I now own. The account is under my name. It has been in place for 7 months and I have not been able to get it to work correctly. The only thing I can do via the app is see the system's current status. I can not arm or disarm the system remotely, which defeats the purpose of having a mobile app. I have contacted ADT customer service by phone, chat and email/text and have been told by two agents that it is "normal" for the Control app to only display system status and that we can disarm the system at the panel. Neither my brother nor i live nearby, so if we need to arrange for a delivery or emergency service, it would be nice to be able to disable the system remotely. I can do that with the Pulse app for my house. Why can't I do that with the newer control app. I will be exploring other security syst options

My ADT control has been hacked. My stalker has been able to hacked my control app, to disable two factor authentication as there is no password to do so. He is able to do that because he cloned my phone several months ago. The phone is on the list of linked devices, which I am not able to clear it, so he is entering my app thru his cloned version and deleting my setting, getting my new phone number, text me with malware. Most of all disarm the alarm leaving no trace and entering my home, stealing from me, damaging the apto and my stuff. I wish if I could delete the linked devices. Also to put password in app like to access all key stuff like two factor authentication, notification, setting in general. Bernadete

ADT app. The new app needs work. I want to be able to hear better my outdoor cameras but it doesn’t sound clearly. The live video timing is short it logs it self off. I like to have the live view open the entire time I’m gone as I drive away until I return. I can’t with this app. I have to use my other eufy system to do that. The videos don’t easily show. ADT app doesn’t show as a calendar and don’t have date on video eufy does. I like it to have the entire month of video rather then, to automatically select only a few videos a day. I want to see video as a calendar to pass a few days, it’s annoying to keep setting it back to see pass videos then it won’t work. Fix it or I’m going all eufy and canceling ADT.

Recording. Why is it that you can’t record an incident from your doorbell cam, as you can do with an outdoor or indoor camera if you are looking out you should be able to record as well, and also you can’t set a distance for a recording besides the close motion or someone ringing the doorbell, can this maybe, be looked at for future features ?? Just concerned if you were to look out and see something taking place if would be nice to hit the record option and capture some valuable information that could be used to prevent crime in your neighborhood. No customer service. WHAT IS A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR ALL OF MY ISSUES? No one left me a phone number. I have ADT installed in May. My doorbell will not connect to wifi. It doesn’t connect to the app at all. Waste of money. It cost me 100 to install but they said they would send me a $100 visa gift card. I NEVER RECEIVED a gift card. Also I received a paper to fill out to send to the police so that they would respond to our house getting broken into. The police responded and said the form I filled out was wrong and that they don’t show me having an account. And that it costs hundreds of dollars for police to come for the alarm going off??? So basically this system is doing nothing for us but we are being charged??? WHAT AM I PAYING FOR? I found a number and called it and it rang for 5 minutes with no answer. I emailed the guy who installed it and he has not responded.

ADT Control APP not working to capacity. For 3 days now, the Recording Rules feature is not working to capacity When I tap on the pencil icon editing feature a message pops up saying that I do not have permission and the feature is under construction. However, it does work fine when I’m on my laptop (Apple). To allow me changes I want to make. The ADT control App issue I’m noting has always worked fine up until 3days ago I’ve had this ADT security for my home for a few months now. I spent an hour and 15 min with ADT phone tech support with no solution. This included troubleshooting by removing the app, rebooting my iPhone then adding the app back in. The editing feature under recording rules does not work. I’m hoping that the scheduled call appointment ADT tech support set up for me tomorrow will offer a solution. I’m suppose to be speaking to a higher level tech support. I’m very frustrated since I use the App regularly specifically the edit function under recording rules. I have no control over messages that say this feature is under construction. The onus is on ADT and the company that develops this app Thanks

Waste of money and poorly functional equipment. The camera doorbell was installed where it has limited view. It hardly ever record anyone or anything that comes up to my front door unless they’re standing at the door for at least 2-3 minutes after being on my front porch. The only time the doorbell camera records is when I am coming out the door or I am halfway in the house. I owned a Ring doorbell and it worked 100% better and was cheaper. I’m locked in a 3year contract that I would have NEVER signed up for. I was deceived about that. My camera used to detect motion on the back porch and it doesn’t anymore. I called the dealer who had these things installed to discuss issues and it’s been 2weeks and still haven’t heard from him. I would NOT recommend ADT to anyone!

Disappointing. The application rarely connects to your system despite having excellent high speed internet connection. If your doorbell works, good luck trying to view what’s going on as it never connects. If you want to disarm your home before opening the door using your app, this one isn’t the one for you. Everything ADT offers from products to service is a major disappointment. What’s really disappointing is when your stuck in a contract, paying your bill each month holding up your end of the contract signed and ADT has no accountability to fulfill their promise to provide a functional alarm system with products and service that work. Save yourself misery and a lot of money. This app is terrible and the e service from ADT is even worse.

Needs work. I don’t know if these are bugs or going to be fixed but low priority 1. On the main screen Video cameras / doorbells show up as black screens with barely visible image. These should show last motion detected image in full color (look at Ring or Blink or Arlo for proper implementation) 2. There is no easy way to mute a video motion alert. When my gardener comes I get 50 motion alerts. There should be an easy way to mute motion alerts for 5,10,or 30 minutes (again look at blink or ring implementation) 3. VMD does not work. I set thin trip lines as recommended in “best practices “. It ignores these and still triggers on cars passing by in the street way far away from my trip lines. I can walk thru my trip line and no alert. 4.how can I get a motion sensor notification only when the system is armed? Can’t be done. I’m sure these is other issues I’ve only had the system 1 week. Had it a few months and it’s no better. Someone can walk right up my driveway and cross my VMD zones and the camera does not record anything. But if a car drives by on the street in the extreme upper left corner of the cameras view and it’s not in any of my VMD zones it records it no problem every time. I cannot recommend this system.

Randomly stops recording video. Normally this app is great because I am able to arm and disarm my system but I often get frustrated with the camera recoding. There are a few times each year that my door camera will no record what is happen right in front of it. It will be weeks before it starts recording again. This greatly frustrates me due to the fact the camera helps me to see when my life saving medicine is dropped at the door and helps protect it until I’m able to get it when home from work. I have tried to find setting on why this is happening on the app and the home system but no results. When I call the company they just say they will send someone but even they aren’t able to actually fix it.

Poor layout, missing key features.. Why does the home screen on the displays or on the app not have a volume that can be adjusted anywhere? I wouldn’t mind a low reminder but it’s either deal with the voice on the app screaming no matter what time of day it is, or pack all of it away and never hear her. Also, the remote control on the key chain also has a very clear panic button to press in case of an emergency. Why isn’t that arranged simply on the app. Surely you know that in an attack, our brains are in fight or flight mode and we don’t have much in the way of deductive reasoning logical, multi step processes functioning so maybe an obvious big red panic button would be more Helpful than the useless setup it currently occupies.

UNSAT. For the cost it’s not acceptable. For a cheaper cost, still not enough. Consistently freezes or fails to work. Can’t show video or connect to live videos. What’s the point? You have to pay for a service tech when the equipment is faulty? How about make the app and equipment better then? We often reach max capacity for video saves. When trying to delete, you have to select each video one by one; there is no option to select multiple ant hit delete all. You can select a bunch then click delete but after you select several, for some reason, the page scrolls on its own and I selects all the little boxes you tediously just filled in. The cameras are also not clear enough to read license plates. There are some other issues but I have to get back to troubleshooting my cameras now at 3:40am. Pretty crappy.

Let’s be clear: app vs security. Ok so let’s be clear. The ADT security itself (hardware) is generally ok. The ADT control app (and mobile experience )may be the most poorly designed app I’ve ever paid money to use. Hamburger menu is ridiculous, scheduling alarms (arguably what most people care about) is carelessly buried in 3 layers of sub menus. Alexa integration stinks. The “scenes” functionality which takes up half of the landing page of the app is arguably worthless. Last but not least- to actually trigger any meaningful automation (ie when the alarm is triggered turn the camera on for xyz seconds) the app cannot accommodate this. Instead you’ll need to navigate to the atrocious ADT website which is laughably ill configured to a mobile web experience. Legit everything I was unpleasantly not surprised and expected from the company grandparents used for so many years to secure their home. Super disappointed.

2 issues +. This Command alarm system app offers access by Touch ID but it isn’t persistent; ie it times out in a short period which is ultimately useless! Also, the app is quick to alert me to an open door or something something but I have to use the house Control panel to do anything about it! + This Control system came up in my searches as the system that will allow my Nest system (now Google Nest) cameras to be switched on / off with the typical Home / Away / Sleep (Stay) alarm system modes. The sales person who came out to my home affirmed that this system would meet my needs. It wasn’t until the installer came and explained to me that I was misled, that perhaps a future version of the Command system will meet my needs, but the system I was sold does not. I wasn’t happy.

Works sometimes. Its great to be able to see what’s going on when you are not home or while you were sleeping. However, there are glitches, and no one knows if it’s the camera or the app. The video often skips critical information, like all of a sudden someone is on my porch, but no video of them waling up there. The “feedback” button on the app always shows an error after i spend time writing the error that happened in the recording. I love/hate ADT. The customer service is almost ALWAYS inept and unable to help problem-solve the equipment, so i tend to learn more w my own research. This app could definitely be better. Setting up more functions from it while out if town, for example would help greatly.

Great app with minimal hiccups. Overall the app works amazingly and helps me manage my security easily and efficiently. It does occasionally get stuck if I had a live feed open and then try to open the app later, and I have to close the app out completely and re-open. It’s not a huge issue, but when I’m trying to quickly check an alert that got sent, like for a package delivery, those seconds lost can be irritating. Would also really like a simple way to change what the default ‘image’ is for my camera’s, the screenshot that is saved for them is from when they were first booted up, which is a pile of leaves, and my technician’s pants. Would really like to not see his pants on my home screen all the time.

Poor quality and service. One star because a Zero star rating was not an option! This app and ADT is not all it was sold to be. Installation was not a good experience. Had to have a second tech come out and correct mistakes from initial installer. ADT Customer service is hard to reach. Make sure you have half a day to talk wait, then hope you get some one that speaks clearly. Your issue still won’t be resolved after months of calling and reporting the same issue over and over again (speaking from my experience). App Fails to show video history, hard to locate settings that you are supposed to be able to adjust..and it isn’t the internet connection because I’m not getting notifications of it being out. I could add more but time is limited.

Horrible. This app helps me with absolutely nothing. It just scrolls for live video and nothing happened. I’ve had 2 service calls I am down to only one camera showing that is recording however the last recording was yesterday at about 1:30 in the afternoon!! I am so frustrated I could just cry!! ADT says there is nothing they can!! This app does not let you doing about it besides calling! I have called just about everyday for a good month and sometimes I call more than once a day. I am paying for something that doesn’t work and their techs say there is nothing they can do about it!!

WORKS WINDERFULLY. I use the inside cameras to watch my 91 y.o. mother with dementia paired with the fall monitoring necklace. Cameras alert me during the night if she should make movement (like out of bed). I rely on these cameras. Before getting them I was sleeping light as a feather always awaking to look at bedroom camera to make sure she was ok. Now I can sleep like a puppy because of the alert set on the bedroom camera. It really gives me a peace of mind and I can watch her when I have to leave the home during the day. I would suggest if you care for the elderly installing inside cameras to watch over your loved one. Get the health system and outside door bell camera too. You won’t regret it.

App always fails when you need it the most. This is the worst app I have ever used. After our three years is up we want to look for another company. I can’t believe people choose to pay for this service monthly. I paid a lot of money for cameras and a doorbell which doesn’t always even record us walking by in daylight more less in the late afternoon. I gave two starts because the app/system will notify me if my alarm goes off and records sometimes. But not when someone tried to get in and when we are outside walking right in front of the cameras. The app is almost useless. Now it does work sometimes but forget about looking at who is at your door it takes so long to load if it even does at all. The ring door bell several of my friends use works all the time. I am so disappointed in ADT.

Terrible Service. If I could give this -5 stars I would. I constantly get false notifications of vehicle and person detected when there is no one there, if there IS someone there I do NOT get notifications from it half the time. If I go back into my history half the notifications and video clips are missing. About 70% of the time I can’t get the video footage to load and it has nothing to do with my internet connection. The one time my alarm system was set off I did not get any kind of notification, no phone call, nothing. I have reached out multiple times to get my cameras set up to record full time and back up footage and every time I get “well look into it and get back to you” and then they never do. If you’re thinking about using ADT to protect your home or anything really, DO NOT DO IT!!! They have been awful from the start.

Money over Protection. I have been a customer with ADT for over 5 years. Being a parent to minor children and a single parent safety and security are my biggest concern when they are at home. But it seems that it is more important for this company to have money coming out of my account on auto-draft than helping me trouble shoot a power/connection outage. I am now forced to wait until my automatic payment is cleared before someone can come to my home and assist a problem that I am in CONTRACT with to support. If I cancel my services I am required to pay the remainder of the contract however, the company does nothing to make sure I am a valued customer. Where has the common decency gone in today’s world. Very dissatisfied and I will be seeking other avenues for security. Also, charging for equipment that costs less than $5 to produce is a total ripoff!!! Shameful!!!

Not Ready for Primetime and this a Well Established Comany. Not Up to par for being a well established security company recording stops and there is no way to know why or how to fix the issue 2 of the three cameras stop recording the front door stopped in Dec and the driveway camera stopped a the beginning of March - I have tried everything deleting all the rules and creating new ones restarting the cameras nothing has helped. I am not the only one, my daughter’s system had the same issues. We decided to return to ADT cause we like how her’s worked, then she started with these issue I mention above and now us. Yea, NO BUENO!!

It’s okay... I just would like for when motion is detected on my outside camera for it to appear in the app to let me know and not through a text messages ALL DAY.. I don’t even see ppl come on the porch.. All I see is now I have mail or a package or whatever else that’s been dropped off.. It notifies me of all the cars going past and my bushes moving but not when ppl are on the porch.. Another thing is we should be able to pay the bill through the app. Snatching the money out of ppl’s accounts without even a reminder email is a bit rude if you ask me.. I don’t like auto pay and never sign up for it and getting this service feels like they force you to without it being an option..

Complete satisfaction and accessibility. I am very satisfied with the variety of functions that this app provides. There are so many features at your fingertips. It’s very comforting having the ability to access so much information regarding your system all in one place. Provides a safe feeling and complete satisfaction while reviewing your system. Love the vast range of selections. Also helps you understand the functionality of your ADT security system. Easy to navigate. Overall is great. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in a security system. Love having ADT.

No Signing Saying My Home is Protected. I had ADT connected last week, however the Installer did not provide signing outside. I noticed other new homeowners have the signing. I tried to call customer service or log on to the site and was unable to connect. I received my upcoming bill today and double checked to see if there was any signing to confirm my house is protected and nothing. The Technician Supervisor arrived today (29 September) and installed the sign. Thank you for your prompt action in taking care of this. I am very happy with my security system.

Frozen videos on app. Same as other reviews here…a few weeks ago the videos on the app started to appear frozen. 30 second clips would only show a vehicle entering the road and the full time would expire and suddenly the vehicle was gone. The video completely freezes and doesn’t let you view the entire video from start to finish without “gaps” in the footage. When you login to the website on a laptop, the video plays fine with no gap and doesn’t freeze. I’ve called ADT several times and they blame my internet provider. I’ve called tech support and all they did was email me steps to remove and re-install my devices on my own without live help from someone. I have no internet issues in my home and can stream all other content completely fine. Listen to your customers! We are paying a lot of money for these devices and monthly premiums. Fix the app!!!

Need to Integrate Nest Camera. I am new to this app and am coming from the Pulse app. While it has some very nice features compared to the Pulse app, including the very feature rich Google Nest doorbell camera, what I miss the most is not being able to see the doorbell camera on the Control app. Instead I have to go to the Google Home app to see the camera feed, live or recorded. That prevents me from quickly seeing that feed and also using it as a trigger for automations, like turning on the porch light, like I was able to to do with the Pulse app. I’m also not able to automate the app to close my garage door after a certain amount of time. It will only notify me that it’s still open. Please incorporate those automation features from the Pulse app into the Control app. Thanks!

Fix reports. I wanted to review the history of when the system had been armed. The reports “feature” is almost useless. I navigated to the arm report but it was set up to only show the history for today. I then set up a new report and selected the last 7 days but still got a report just for today. I went back and confirmed 7 days was selected but same result. The reports only give an option to download to PDF or CSV, there is nothing created within the app itself from what I could see. There is a review archived report that pops an alert and says the reports have to be run for the first time. You get this alert EVERY time it’s selected. All I wanted was a way to clarify some confusion about the last time the system was armed. Your app offers nothing simple or intuitive about how to get this information.

A Residential Security that beats them all. I have been with ADT for years, there is a good reason for that. Best of the Best service and customer service is friendly and so helpful no matter what you need. Pricing is well below others the longer you stay faithful they in turn are faithful to your needs be it home alarm or billing I find this company on top. Never had any issue with this great service. I recommend to all needing home business security they are a very special task force interested in serving you. A very happy Customer for many years.

Excellent system, very competent and pleasant installers.. After almost 3 years of struggle to find someone to competently tackle my 115 year old house, ADT came to my rescue. I actually had already paid for a system that did not work. I wanted a doorbell/intercom combination, a new security system to replace a 40 year old system, and exterior video surveillance. The ADT salesman completely understood everything I wanted and knew how to accomplish it. Since my primary residence is 1500 miles away, finalizing the arrangements required trust on my part that was well placed. The eventual installation went off without a hitch. The installers were competent, pleasant, well spoken, good explainers. All-in-all a satisfactory experience.

Missing a few key features - Also needs Schlage support. I really need the option to arm stay with bypass from the mobile app. I have a glass break sensor and in the day time I need to have it bypassed with dogs around. I can do this easily from the ADT Panel, but not possible on the mobile app. Even better, would love a way to set this bypass as a preset as sometimes there is needs for a bypass for some sensors in stay mode. I would also love to activate a saved bypass stay mode preset with a Siri shortcut! This would make the app perfect for me. One MAJOR issue is the app/control site does NOT support Schlage ZWave devices. I have a BE469 lock paired to my 7” ADT command panel. Lock works fine from the panel, but does not support the app/website (based on multiple ADT support calls). Please add this functionality as it is fully compatible with my panel and I prefer Schlage over Kwikset.

Upgraded app doesn’t sense motion as it should. I called adt for a new sensor and at that time a new wifi panel was installed as a free upgrade because I was told my original one was old and obsolete. I am not too pleased that the new app does not show motion sensor history and movement. I called support for help and it is not an option at this time but comments were added to my account regarding such. Please update the app to sense all motion as the pulse app did. That is a huge problem. Ex. If I were to go in one room with sensor and another sensor had sensed motion and has not gone off or did not sense then (armed or not) it would be nice to know if there is motion and where. Please fix! The pulse app was great for that.

Camera app doesn’t work live. I’ve had my adt camera for over two years and although it’s great at recording ones at my door it doesn’t work live. I’ll hear the doorbell on my phone and try to speak or even see who is at my door the app just spins and spins then kicks me out or I get an error message. I’ve never been able to chat with ones at my door live and always have to wait 5-7 mins to go to my saved videos to actually see who was at my door. By that time the person has left. It has me so frustrated that even though it will be a hassle, I might have to change services just to get the feature that it’s basically created for.

Crashes and Freezes. This app constantly crashes. Any rules have to be made through the official ADT control website and not through the phone. I have people constantly trying to break into my vehicles but I have to sift through hundreds of video clips daily that record cars driving by just for me to find the one video I need. I’ve tried multiple times to change the rules but the website won’t update for me or it crashes. The only thing I can rely on is that I will get a notified when my alarm triggers, and ADT will call me. I recommend continuing to update this app and putting in rule settings on the mobile app so people don’t have to be tied to their desktop computers when trying to establish the limits of their security cameras.

Horrible. I’ve had nothing but problems with this system and haven’t been able to reach anyone to help. I didn’t realize I was purchasing thru a 3rd party dealer either. My child’s father just died and our safety is important. Continued: 6 months later, I had to add cameras because I still have problems with break-ins and crazy exes stalking me. 3 cameras (I have a 2500 square foot, oddly shaped home on big wooded lot) costing nearly $800 were installed 2 days ago. Not even 24 hrs later someone was able to come in and disable my camera and I was robbed again. Step up your game ADT! This is then second time you’ve allowed what the FBI called “cyber terrains & severe stalking” to continue to be a problem for me. My kids dad died before we moved in here and I’ve had to spend our entire social security check on what was essentially a stalker challenge. They accepted the challenge and won.

Dissatisfied. I really wanted to love this app. My family’s safety and our home is very important to me. This is why I went with ADT. Unfortunately it is not very reliable. The app will sometimes show my garage door is closed when it is not. The front door will show there is movement at the door but will take so long to show me the front door activity that who ever was there is no longer there and then sometimes it won’t even record it so when I go back to see who it was it’s not there. I upgraded modem to the fastest wifi my provider carries and upgraded the cable to my front doorbell too so that should not be the issue. I’m tired of calling about my issues because now I just feeling like I’m always bothering the techs. I wish I would have done more research or stayed with the RING I had before. Very disappointed.

Horrible Connectivity, Few Features. Hands down the worst connectivity vs any other household app that I use. Ironically, it’s probably the most important household device! It takes 10+ minutes to arm the device via Pulse every single night… sometimes it does not work at all. Heaven forbid someone accidentally sets it off - of course, I am unable to disarm it via the device in a timely manner because it cannot connect!! The features are mediocre. There should be an an actual automation schedule where it arms and disarms at a certain time… but I’m sure it wouldn’t be able to connect to so so anyway. Overall, it’s a horrible app… and considering how much we pay ADT per month, it’s quite frankly an embarrassment on their part. Perhaps at some point they will hire real coders to build them a solid app… not holding my breath.

ADT control. I was talked into a new control, supposed to be an upgrade. At best it was a trade off. Previously I could t sync with Alexa and see the control on my phone. Now I can however now three years later what device do you purchase that won’t? Zero. Previously I could set up multiple scenes including turning off everything except my motion detector. I have a building with a fixed widow and a garage door. Best option wasn’t just a door opener, but a motion detector incase the window as breached to provide entry. The door has alley access. This app, the new control will not allow the garage to be armed with the house unarmed any longer. I have had multiple tickets over the issue without resolution. Why can’t a scene be created for each armed device.

Disappointed-Control App about 10 years outdated. Just got ADT installed a couple of days ago. Salesperson told me that Google worked on my system and the system had Bluetooth functionality to turn off alarm based on Bluetooth communication. Both of those claims are not true at all. From a review of feedback here, it looks like Pulse was okay and discontinued and this new Control app is a downgrade. This is very disappointing. I may cancel the service. Would like to see this system integrated with Google. Would like to see Bluetooth or GEO services to turn Alarm on and off based on user location. Would like to see auto-schedules for arming alarm. Would like to see glass-breaks, motion, and zones on app. Would like to see app integrated with Phillips Hue, Ring, Arlo, Home and end-user-configurable. Personal photos Screensaver would be nice too, as this was also a Pulse function. Unfortunately, looking at the feedback, these requests have been made but nothing has been done to implement suggestions even though they,” appreciate your feedback and listen to suggestions “. Lastly, there are a number of false reviews here which are very easy to identify by the ,”everything about ADT is great” reviews. Come on ADT employees and friends, you can do better than that.

Nothing works. I really wish I had just said adios to ADT when I decided to get rid of my hard line phone. I’ve been a customer for 16 years (well, a customer of Brinks. ADT bought them out). The first sign that things weren’t right us when the tech had to go back and get a new panel because there were faults on the board. When I asked if the garage door opener had been installed and was told it was, I tried to open it using the app. Nothing worked. He spent two hours trying to get it to work to no avail. When I try to run a scene, it doesn’t run. The video feed isn’t live on the home screen, there is nothing really special about the app at all except the ability to just arm and disarm the system. $1000 for them to tie into an existing system and this is all there is to it? Don’t waste your time or money. I’m stuck with this for three years and I’m angry enough to call the BBB.

Frozen Cameras. I have had my system since July. Everything was working great up until i few months ago. My cameras so no recording and only 1 camera out of the 3 works properly. I have had 3 technicians out and after they work their magic, all cameras work excellent but within a week only one camera works. I have the highest speed internet so everything is ok from that end but the ADT cameras has stopped working again. I have logged in and out but the same issue. I work out of town so this makes it even more difficult because I cannot view the cameras on my property when traveling. ADT was just our 2 weeks ago and now I have to call again. Please fix this constant problem with the app.

Do the work don’t put off for a month. My door can’t b armed because the sensor doesn’t work . The tech didn’t hv time to finish his job it was 830pm. I need more work done! Not fair I called I can’t get him to come back fir one month! Yes I live a d t been with u fir 35 to 43 years! It says 20 years but it’s more like aprix. 40 some years! Lots of company’s out there I paid insurance on my adt service! U paid 1600$ they cheated me out of outside cameras I got three cameras inside. I wanted two cameras out side two cameras in like I use to hv. ! Nit paying more money than 1690$ I will quit a d t first. .if they don’t straighten this up. I need tech soon not in a month! Finish the dam job.
