I smother my plants so this is great. It takes a bunch of factors into consideration while forming a watering schedule. For example, the type of pot, humidity, the weather of your location, and how much light you get in your room. I smother my plants and end up either overwatering or forgetting about them. The notifications force me to give them the care that they need. Without the premium version it only tells you when to water your plants. It doesn’t limit the amount of plants you can have, which I appreciate. One recommendation I have for the app is to allow you to put an assortment of plants in one pot. Two of my plants have different watering schedules, yet they are in the same pot, and it would be nice if the app told me to either move the plants or change the schedule to accommodate them both. If that’s possible, I think it’d be an awesome addition. I love the app so far, and I’m looking forward to using it in the future!

Great app - needs more details. So I’ve been using the free version of this app for a few months and I wanted to try out the premium version so I know when to fertilize and all. I’m glad it tells you when to fertilize, but every plant says “all purpose fertilizer” which honestly if you use that on all of your plants you will burn some roots and kill them. Some house plants need a specific fertilizer. And it’d be cool if there were some natural alternatives in there as well, like banana peel water. Also, add what kind of soil you should use! There should totally be a big soil section, but not one that just says “all purpose potting soil” like, definitely have someone who knows what they’re doing tell you what different mediums to mix for this certain plant. (Coco coir, peat moss, perlite etc.) If you added these small details I’m sure you’d have much more business. The right soil and fertilizer is so important for growth. One more thing, do some quick research on each of your plants to make sure Planta is giving you the right info. I’ve been barely watering my rubber trees and letting them dry out because that’s what planta said, but I just did some research and saw that they need to stay moist during the summer 🤦🏻‍♀️ sooooo, that’s why two of my rubber trees are drooping and dropping leaves. Overall, I’m super grateful for this app because I could never keep up with my 47 plants without it, but definitely could use some more details!

My plants LOVE Planta!!. I absolutely love this app! It really helps me take better care of my 50+ plants. Before Planta, I was watering most of my plants on the same schedule and while they were still alive, they weren’t thriving. After using Planta for a couple of months, and each plant being on its own schedule, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my plants and how much healthier and happier they look. I am, however, not a fan of the newest update. Managing the daily tasks is confusing. When I checked this morning, before the new update was pushed to my phone, it said I only had 3 tasks but when I just checked it now, it says I have 35 but doesn’t give the snooze or complete option next to each plant (like it did before). Maybe I’m not looking at it right and it could be user error. I’m gonna have to reacquaint myself with the app to figure it out. But even with that update, I still recommend this app to all my plant friends. Definitely worth the price of the premium option!

This is my second review, and…. This app is great! This is my second review, I’ve run into a couple problems, but nothing too big. First- I think Dr Planta should be open to everyone. Because if you are getting Planta, there is a good chance it’s because your plants are sick or dying. Second- my succulents are sharing pots with others. For example, a have a two inch succulent in a 8 inch pot ( from side to side over the top ) sharing with other plants. However, the app does not know it is sharing its pot, and it may be giving me false information. Me and my succulents are doing good, but this may be a problem in the future. Third- this is just for succulents, but whenever you take a leaf off of a thick-leaved succulent, you can put in in sun and a new plant will grow from the leaf. This is called propagation, and this should be an option to grow your plants in the app. Like, say, and option to watch over your propagation plants, care, facts, and more. It’s just for succulents of course, though. Otherwise, the app is amazing, and you did an amazing job!! I’m usually really critical on plant apps ( I just love my succulents ) so just want you guys to know you did an amazing job!!!!!

Had to knock down a couple of stars. UPDATE: things run smoother now and buttons work. Thank you! I updated my review. Still wishing and hoping for 1. in-ground option and 2. starting from seed option. Also, the scan to identify feature is pretty good! OLD REVIEW: App is great, but has gotten considerably slower as time and updates come. It makes my iPhone 11 Pro Max quite warm to the point it begins to throttle. Making progress updates are tedious and slow. Battery drainer. Some UI elements don’t work until you exit and go back in. For example, when I make a progress update, and then try to go into the plant settings once in complete the update, the three dots menu button doesn’t work. I have to exit, then go back in to make it work. Wish there was an option for *in-ground* planting. I have a banana and mango tree. Those aren’t meant to be potted. Wish I could change the type of fertilizer without having to delete the plant.

Needs a vacation algorithm. I love this app! Been a paid subscriber for over 2 years now and I can 100% say there is no other app better than this for tracking your plants. That being said, with the number of plants I have it can get overwhelming sometimes when the daily tasks start to add up. I simply don’t have time to do all the tasks needed every single day. I’m hoping the developers could introduce an algorithm that could possibly consolidate a week’s tasks down to a few days, for example if I want to go on vacation for a long 4-day weekend, I could put this in and it will tell me what to do to prepare and what to do when I get back. Or if I don’t have daily time I can dedicate to plant care, I can configure settings to permanently consolidate my tasks down to a selection of days I choose, instead of every day. Then Planta could advise if this is enough days, or if I have plants that need daily care it could warn about that too. Seems like a good idea. Anyways, Planta is still the best! 5 stars!

Started out great, each update makes things worse :/. I got this app over a year ago when I really started getting into plants. I researched a bunch of apps, tried a few out, and like Planta the best. However since then, a number of updates have made it much less easy to use or messed things up. Now that they finally got rid of the bug where it gets stuck and doesn’t mark a plant watered when you check it (really fun to close the app each time I watered one of my 180+ plants 😩), new problems arise! This seems like an intended change, though I’m not sure why - they got rid of the alphabet on the right side, so you can’t just click on a letter and go to it, you have to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to it. Why on earth would you get rid of that?? Of course to make it worse, there is an unintended bug to go along with it - the Search function on your plant list doesn’t work anymore. So literally the only way you have to find a certain plant is to SCROLL and scroll and scroll forever. Who has time for that? I got an app to make my hobby easier, not harder. And I intended to get the premium version once I got more into plants/felt like I needed it….although I do need it, I haven’t gotten it because there is always some issue. If the basic features don’t work/are taken away, I’m not going to pay for a premium version. Get it together.

Great app for keeping your plants healthy!. I’ve been using Planta for just over 4 months now as a premium user and I love it. It helps me keep my plants organized and healthy. While I am a relatively new plant “parent”, and I rely on it to help me know when to water, fertilize, and generally care for all of my plants (35!), I know that I still have to trust my own instincts and that every plant is different. That’s why I enjoy the features Planta has in place to make sure you care for your plants in ways that work for you. I enjoy all the features, including the plant health tracker, and access to a plant doctor bot for plants that are in trouble. For the most part all of my plants are thriving. That being said, I would ask for Planta to think about adding a vacation mode feature into the app that lets you switch your schedules for the amount of time you will be away. Not all of us have people who will look after our plants while we are away, and it would be nice to be able to modify the watering schedule without having to snooze plants every 2 days until you get back. Also a tips section regarding how to prepare your plants for your vacation would be super nice, too. Maybe also a calendar view for upcoming activity would be a nice future add, too. 😊

1 year of use, countless plants saved!. I couldn’t understand how I was killing so many plants until this app. Since getting this app a little over a year ago, I’ve only lost a handful of plants, and I think that’s below average. Plants bite the dust sometimes no matter what we do. But this app taught me how and when to use fertilizer, when to water and how, and how much light is too much or too little. It’s so mindless, it’s perfect. Open the app, see what needs what, do that, done. No puzzling out what to do. I get the sense this app is a labor of love for the developers, and I have seen improvements throughout the year. There are still some improvements to be made, but those can only be made by more money coming in. I’d absolutely recommend this app to anyone with plants, and already have. It is such a steal to have this for $35 per year. Probably saved around $200 by not killing plants and having to buy new ones! Even started propagating plants which has saved even more money. In the future it would be a really cool addition to have info on how to propagate each plant!

Needs to be improved. One thing that doesn’t make sense is the fact that you can’t personalize the dates for when it notifies you to water your plants. The day you download the add is the automatic day all your plants need to be watered. What if I had watered my plant before I downloaded the app? Also some of my plants don’t need to be watered yet but I continue to get notifications that I have tasks that are late. Also I gave one of my plants extra water and I wasn’t able to track it because the app considered it to early so the option wasn’t even given to document it. Also it sets automatic days you have to water your plant. For example every 9 days you have to water your monstera but this doesn’t consider the size of the plant. A bigger plant has different watering needs then a smaller plant of the same kind. I do like the plant helper feature that helps you diagnose what’s wrong with your plant. I also like how it has a lot of information about a wide variety of plants and includes pictures. Another think I forgot is the app is demanding me to repot my plant but why?? There is no reason to so why am I getting the notification to do it? All the information I gave was that my plant was in a plastic pot in a medium lit room. What could have indicated I needed to repot my plant from that information given? The light meter feature was also helpful might I add. I was a premium member for about 4 weeks but now I think I’m switching to another app.

I’d give 10 stars if I could!!!. I am not one to EVER write a review for anything but I am such a firm believer in this app that I feel obligated to. I recently moved into my own apartment and have always appreciated plants but decided I wanted to take it to the next level and have many throughout my home, unfortunately I knew nothing about caring for plants and they’d often times die. Since I have got this app my plants have not only been flourishing but two of my plants have come back from the dead - seriously!!! My striped Calathea for example was so unhappy, literally brown sticks that were about to be thrown away but I decided to try this app before letting it go and sure enough after just a couple short weeks I saw life! My plant now has four beautiful, healthy leaves growing and my family seriously doesn’t believe I didn’t just go to the store and replace it because it seemed like there was no hope - but there was - Planta!!! This isn’t fake, I’m not being paid, I’m just so passionate and tell everyone how amazing this app is because it has saved my plants and makes my space look amazing and healthy!!

The developer plays the rating system. So I left a very elaborate review a month ago or so ago, with criticism pertaining the UX/UI, the inability to temporarily designate a care-person (for when you’re absent), as well as a single bug. They responded 4 weeks ago, but addressed the bug itself, and gave an unsatisfying “you can add the caretaker to your Family account or share the password” suggestion regarding care-person. They asked to contact about the bug and so I did. They never responded back. Now I wanted to add another UX/UI issue to my review, when I noticed it was gone. What the developer did is they reported that review to Apple, on the (false) grounds that it was a bug report. This is a known trick to game the AppStore review system. None of my sensible issues nor suggestions were addressed. After using the app for couple months it’s getting more tedious by the day. Example: when I am scheduled to add a fertilizer, but don’t remember if a plant likes to dry out between waterings, the watering information is 4-5 clicks away, and a long scroll to the bottom of a Plant info page. For something this obvious, i.e. that the fertilizer is water, too, you’d expect them to be a bit more imaginative about the UX patterns.

Best app out of all the other. I was struggling to find an app I kept deleting some because they never notify in time, they never recognized my plant, or their plant spectrum was not broad enough. I really like this app it gives you information about your plant that I never knew. I hesitated on getting the subscription but I’m glad I made the decision on buying it. The plant doctor is so helpful it tells what I’m doing wrong when I didn’t realize that I was doing harm to the plants. I love the schedule misting option cause most of my plants need that and I forget to do that when I live in a dry area. The only reason why I didn’t give it all 5 stars because it has some flaws I hope they can fix. For example live in Los Angeles and the app says the weather here is 70 degrees which in reality it’s either 80 or 90 😣 so I don’t know if that will affect my plants watering at night since it tells me to water them longer than I usually do. Talking about the watering schedule I wish it has a schedule of setting a LOUD alarm at a specific time because I am a college student the only time I can care for my plant is between 10-11 o’clock am and I know I can’t water them later because of my assignments; another thing is when I water them at night, I learned the hard way, my plants are more prone to pests and bacteria. If anyone is reading this help to get the developers attention to fix this app I really like it.

Not enough info. I’ve found that there are several plants that aren’t available, and there are no options for choosing which varieties of plants. For example, bush varieties vs pole varieties, which need different care. There’s also no info about germination. The subscription is expensive considering there are countless websites online that can give you all of the information provided in this app. Without forking out the extra money for the premium service, this app is almost useless. Every time I saw something that might be useful, I was met with more and more asking for my money. This is a great concept and I was excited to have a central place to keep my plant care organized and to get help when I need it as a beginner/moderate plant parent. But plant care alone being costly as it is, I have no desire to spend money on a subscription service for information that I can access with a quick google search. If it were a one time purchase I’d be much more willing to give this app a chance but I can’t justify spending several dollars a month. TLDR: it’s a good concept and might be nice for a busy person with a high number of plants, but is too expensive to be useful, and does not have much variety for plant types.

Amazing app! Want more social options. I love planta so much and it has been great for me as i’ve gotten deeper into the rabbit hole of plant ownership! super convenient for both me and to give to people plant sitting for me to give them a guideline of when to water One thing I think would be fun to add is more of a social side to the app? many of my friends are also into plants and i think it would be cool to be able to browse their collections or to be able to send each other planta you think the other person would like! also to be able to transfer plants between accounts if you give a plant to a friend and then you can watch it’s progress on your friends page instead of just completely deleting it from your library. ooh or a little “cutting/propagates family tree” from the og plant to all of the new babies. I realize adding social is probably a huge endeavor so i don’t see it happening soon but just thought it could be a cool direction for the app to go eventually!

Life Saver (Literally). I’ve always been told I have a “black thumb” though honestly, I feel like that’s an exaggeration. I love plants, I’m absolutely obsessed with them, and this app helps me feel like I can speak their language. Every plant has its own needs so I feel like a green thumb really boils down to doing your research and knowing your plant. But instead of having to retain all that knowledge in my head, this app stores it for me. It gives me tips, and tells me when to water, repot, mist, fertilize, all tailored to the plants that I have in my home, and the location of them. I’ve only been using this app for a short while but I thought I was killing my lavender because I read online that they basically hate water. The app told me to water it and it literally perked back up the next day! I’m starting to understand what my plants need a bit more now and better care for them and it’s all thanks to this app!

Almost love this!. This app is so close to a 4-star in my book, but it could be a 5-star app. I’m a Planta user and pay for the membership because it is worth it compared to other apps like this. The app is nice! It allows you to find out what any unknown new plant friends you brought in. It helps you determine the best place to put your plants. It even reminds you when to water, mist, and fertilize. However, you only have access to some of these functions as a paying member. I think it would be nice to allow these functions for free but offer paying members access to online plant help through the app for beginners to work one on one and maybe open forums for users to chat when help isn’t available? Also, I feel like there are fewer “homesteader” plant options available, which leads me to having to turn to other sources. I think that especially right now, the app would benefit from that. Many people are starting to grow their own foods at home right now. Also it would be cool to see how-to content about care for each plant. You could have people submit videos to reach out to the public about this. Taking care of my plants has been one of the things getting me through this!

The perfect plant app. I recently got into plants, and my collection quickly became too large to manage. This app is a godsend, and so easy to use! You set up rooms in your house, with environmental conditions (light, humidity, etc.), and add your plants (including how they’re potted). It automatically tells you if that room is not a good fit for the plant. A maintenance schedule is created, to remind you to water, mist, repot, etc. The app also comes with an identification tool, that tells you the name of a plant based off of a picture you take, and a light meter, in case you’re not sure on the light conditions in a room. There’s tons of other great features (too many to list), like customizable care schedule, and the ability to request a plant be added to their data base in case one of your plants isn’t already listed. For $3/month, it’s totally worth it! The only thing I wish it included was an option to choose the type of soil your plants are in. This affects your watering schedule, but this isn’t taken into account.

Not for desert-dwellers. So admittedly I’m new at plants, but even with the location classification, the watering schedule is way off. I’m from Phoenix, and the app told me to water a dracaena once a month... lol. I left for a week and the soil was bone-dry. It’s too bad- the app is beautifully done. I’ll try setting my own schedules, but that seems like it defeats the purpose of the app. ETA: I triple-checked my inputs. 9b, dry air, draft, correct temp, partial sun, and nursery pot. Literally the exact plant type from the sign. And we’re talking bone-dry, crispy-tips, soil-comes-out-in-one-brick level. I don’t think there’s any dracaena that wants to be that dry for 20 days, especially one that likes humidity (I should add that it has its own humidifier that’s on a daily timer). I also asked around last time I was at the nursery, and they said 10-14 days. I’ve been taking moisture readings daily and in its current location, the soil from the nursery dries completely in 6 days. I am having similar results with my other plants, as well, but most of them are desert plants who aren’t as dramatic about moisture as the dracaena is. If I missed something, please let me know. Again, it’s an awesome app and I have no doubt it works perfectly for the majority of people. If I had 50 bucks to just mess around with pro, maybe it would work better. The free version’s recommendations just aren’t gonna work for me.

I Love This App!. Planta is almost perfect at what it does—I can see my whole indoor garden by room, I can set room conditions to help dictate an automatic care schedule, it reminds me who needs what and when… The thing is I use it to make plant care easier given the number of houseplants I have and one small tweak would make it much better at this: let the user select the number of days (or weeks) to snooze a task. That’s it. Since I have so many plants, having to choose 2 days for a plant I know I don’t need to touch again for a month makes the whole app useless at reducing work required because now I have 20 snoozed plants popping up in 2 days. There is an alternative option to “skip until next time” but again that too would be better with selectable numbers as I have no idea what next time is from that prompt. Even the forecasted care schedule should be editable. Maybe Planta is suggesting fertilizing next week and I want to schedule it for next month instead or maybe it’s forecasting a repotting and I want to do it sooner or never based on observing the plant. This way when I get a task or upcoming task, it’d have so much more value. These seem like easy changes from a user perspective that would be fantastic.

Almost perfect, but needs one thing. I love this app and use it regularly to keep track of all my houseplants. There is one thing I wish was more customizable. Please, for the love of all that is holy, let me choose my own number of days to snooze a task. It would be great if you could set the default snooze duration to anything you want. It would also be great to be able to change the snooze of a specific task at the time you hit the button to anything longer or shorter than the default, if desired. This is more of an issue with plants that require less frequent watering. For example, if I’m prompted to water my ZZ plant and I decide to snooze it because I know it won’t need watered for at least another week, I don’t want to have to hit snooze 3-4 times before it finally needs watered. But I also don’t want to completely skip that watering because it would skip all the way to the next scheduled watering (like 3-4 weeks away). If those features were added, this would be so much more useful!

Favorite plant app but still missing one thing IMO. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s always been very user friendly and intuitive! I love all the updates that have been added over the years but there’s just one big thing I feel is still missing. A lot of people, myself included, use grow lights to supplement natural light or as their primary light source in certain rooms or plant cabinets for example, so it would be so helpful if there were some options for that in the light settings. Like if you could set how much natural vs artificial light certain sites get per day or if they’re only getting artificial light or natural light etc. that would be perfect. Hoping this update is already in the works but thought it was worth mentioning! My plants and I thank you for an awesome app! EDIT: To Developer, thanks for the response but that answer was not really even related to my suggestion lol

Gets The Job Done Great. This is perfect for what I wanted- reminders to water the plants and info on how to care for them. I have just a couple things that could be better. First, if the free version had just a bit more than watering- at least the plant doctor, maybe- that’s be fantastic. I only have the free version, and I have wished several times for the plant doctor, but not often enough to buy a membership. Maybe a limited use- you get to use the plant doctor twice a month or something. That’d be totally awesome, and I’d honestly give the app a 5 star rating if it did that. But, I get that the app people have to make money somehow. Second, it would be nice if you could customize the sites a tad more- particularly the temperature. I would like to have a site for my greenhouse. And a brief description of the difference between each site- bedroom and kitchen and all- would be nice, if there even is a difference. Finally, if this app could be expanded to outdoor gardening I would instantly rate 5 stars and probably recommend to everyone. I imagine that’d take awhile to design though. Maybe make a sister app? Anyway, there are several things that could make this app fantastic, but it is already very good. I like it very much, and will continue to use it.

Very helpful app but some suggestions…. 🪴🪴🪴🪴Edit: I noticed that you added the slow release fertilizer sticks as an option but you cannot change this for an existing plant. 😔 I have 120+ plants and would prefer to use those types of fertilizers but don’t want to have to delete all my plants and add them back and lose all my progress. Can you please push another update that allows you to modify your current fertilizer preferences? ⭐️ 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 I have been using Planta for several months now and use it daily. I am a premium subscriber and while I do love the app I have some suggestions: it doesn’t seem to update watering schedule based on the amount of times you snooze the action. I live in rural VA and in the spring my houseplants don’t seem to need to be watered as often as the app suggests based on pot type and location. I would have thought the app would develop an algorithm over time but it doesn’t seem it has. Another helpful thing would be for you to be able to take a picture of a plant problem and submit it for review. I have had some issues with my plants that I am not positive are the issues outlined in Dr. Planta so I am not confident I am always treating the condition effectively. I wish that feature was more robust. I would also like to have the option to add light sources that are grow lights as I grow a lot of mine under lights. Overall, I love the app and will likely subscribe for another yearly subscription next year too. 🙂

Happy but hoping for a crucial improvement. I am so grateful a coworker told me about Planta. It makes my life so much easier! They continue to update it as well with new improvements. I haven’t ran into any issues with identifying or finding a houseplant so their database of plants and plant knowledge must be extensive, even for rarer houseplants. The biggest complaint I have is the progress reminder update and water reminder update are the SAME look/color! This might not seem like a big deal but when you glance at 6 of your plants in a row all orange with a notification to water and there is one that follows that says progress but also looks the exact same my mind naturally sees this as another plant that needs to be watered. It does say Progress instead of Water but because the notification is the same look/color next to the plant on numerous occasions now I’ve accidentally overwatered my plants. This small error as killed a few of my plants. I doubt I am the only person who has done this. Please update this feature and make it so the Progress update does not look so similar to the Water update. It would make the app more useful and my plants happier!

Buggy/glitchy. I've had the premium version of this app for over a year and I absolutely loved it. Yes it's schedule isn't perfect but it definitely helps to keep track of watering and all that extra stuff because over the summer I had amidst 160 plants... So why the two stars? See originally I would have given this app a 5 star rating, but up until 3 months ago the app completely stopped working, I've almost never had an issue with its before, but now it's so glitchy I can't keep track of any of my plants. I have to choose out the app about 7 times before I can actually do anything... And if I try to go to my daily tasks forget about it. I don't want to delete it because i have over a years worth of plant info on there but honestly I don't even use the app anymore. I've had to learn to just put my plants on a "judgment" schedule... It gets a bit overwhelming at times because I have to many plants and I wish the app worked. I've tried everything but Uninstalling the app for fear of losing all my info... I really hope you guys get all these glitches fixed... This was my favorite plant app hands down.

Very helpful, makes me feel confident to buy more plants. I had a few houseplants for awhile but could never remember to water them, and so I didn’t feel like a very good plant mom. I decided to try an app, and I’m happy I chose this one, and I’m happy to pay for the premium version. I find it super helpful with the daily reminders, and the ability to identify plants through the app. There are somethings I wish I could do through the app — I wish when you add a plant it would prompt you with questions about the current condition the plant is in, is the soil still moist when you bought it, are there new leaves that haven’t opened yet? Things like that that could help you notice the progress your new plant makes since bringing it home. I appreciate the Dr Planta feature but I wish they gave you the option of writing in what the issue is, instead of just giving you a couple of options to choose from. Also, I wish you could update a plant’s type after you have entered it as part of your inventory. I think I chose the wrong color variant on one of my plants, and I think I just have to delete it and enter it as the other one? Please tell me if there is a way to change this without deleting it and losing all of the data I had saved for it. Overall I’m very happy with this app, and I think the premium features are worth it for a newbie like me. I have learned a lot already and I’ve only had the app for a month. Thanks Planta!

yes. i killed every single plant i’ve ever owned before this app, even my cacti. i’m truly obsessed and every day i can’t wait to water my plants and do all of the other tasks. my collection of plants has been growing massively and that’s possible because their care seems like such a simple task due to the format and organized nature of the app. it’s such a good place to discover new plants as well, as some of the features make it easy to decide the best plants for you based off of the rooms you have, light, time, skill level, etc. i also highly recommend purchasing premium. this is the only app that i have ever done that for and probably ever will and i have no regrets. it’s fairly priced when you buy it in a bundle for the year or a few months and it has so much more information and many special features when you do so. really good information on the app as well and you can change the schedules for watering and other things based off of what you observe on your own plants and it tells you how to do that and make those decisions. my plants really have never looked better and i have learned so much. seriously because i killed every single one before this. i have recommended this app to several people who have told me they are too busy for the house plants they want and they love it too. thank you planta for my new hobby!! i seriously have never written a review for anything in my life before but this was worth it.

Great app, needs minor improvements. Edit: Thank you for pointing out these features! I have one suggestion for future updates: please add a basic chart for how much to water based on pot size. That would be helpful to avoid under or over watering. Useful for keeping track of watering/fertilizing houseplants under ideal circumstances, but isn’t easy to adjust schedules when conditions are less than ideal. We’ve had unseasonably high temperatures which meant many of my plants, especially the ones in direct sun, needed more water, more often. I wanted to add an unscheduled watering for a few of plants but there is no way to do that without putting each of them on a fully customized permanent schedule. There should be an option to document that a plant was watered outside of the day recommended by the app. Also, the location feature is not very helpful. I get warnings from the app that a specific room is not appropriate, but the light meter readings any room will vary dramatically if you move a few inches up or down, or to the left or right. But the location is saved with only one set recommendation for the whole space. Not very helpful.

Great app in general. I’ve been using plants for one or two years now, and while it’s a great app to have as a reminder to water my many plants, i definitely have a few complaints! Starting with my more general complaint, I really do wish that there was more you could do for free on the app, it feels like it would be much more profitable for them to have ads than to have the subscription service. Maybe i don’t represent the majority, but it doesn’t seem like there would be many people interested in a subscription service for plant care, even at the cheap price it’s being offered at. To add to that, one of my plants has been looking bad recently, and although it only requires watering about once a month, i couldn’t recall the last time i watered it. i went in to the app today to make sure it hadn’t somehow gotten deleted and it says that watering has been paused on the plant. I certainly didn’t pause it, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to unpause it. not sure if others have had this problem.

Love the app but have a few suggestions. I love the Planta app. It not only helps me keep a solid schedule with my plants, but also helps anyone I have watching them while I’m away on business or vacation. I will say, I wish there were more options as far as water propagation goes, because I haven’t found any yet but have quite a few plants on that state. Obviously those don’t need a watering schedule, but it would be helpful to know when to change the water and get suggestions on good times to transfer them to soil. I also think it would beneficial to select which window each plant is in. For example, there are several rooms in my house that have an east and a south facing window, and different plants in each. Instead of just choosing a partly sunny room, I think it’s be helpful to know which window they’re actually in. I also think different light options would be helpful, as several of my plants have plant lights as their main source. Just a few thoughts, but overall I really enjoy it. Thanks!!

Awesome app for setting your plant care routine. This app was a great way to get myself on a care schedule that benefited my plants. I’ve seen some wonderful growth throughout the winter time when I would normally let my plants be dormant. A couple improvements I would love to see: - A calendar view of a plant’s documented care as well as future care. I’d love to be able to see how my plants’ needs change throughout the year, and if my plants’ actual needs differ than Planta’s suggested schedule. - A “self-learning” plant care schedule. It would be very helpful (especially for premium members) to have the app adjust care schedule for plants when consistent documentation shows the needs a different than suggested care. I live in the desert so many of my plants need to be watered more frequently than suggested. Having 50+ plants makes it very daunting to try and customize every plants schedule. - Combination Plants. I have a few open terrariums and combo pots with multiple plants that I’d like to add to the app. I’d love to be able to add each plant into a pot together and have the app figure a schedule based on the plants combined preferences. So rather than Planta telling you to water Plants A and D, it would have you water Combo A-D. if one of the plants is not good in the mix a notification could come up. All in all the plant is great for basic care, maybe I was just expecting more features after purchasing the premium package.

Great, But could be better. I love this app! I like the easy access to clicking my watering cycle. I like that I can categorize my plants into different rooms they are in. Things to make this app even more worth $35: -I’d like to have the ability to edit the watering cycle to a more specific date. You can only mark today, yesterday, about a week ago, about 2 weeks ago, or not sure/never watered. These are so vague when you add a plant. -if you accidentally mark that you have watered a plant that hasn’t been watered, you can’t edit the watering cycle. I end up having to put a reminder on my calendar. -Maybe adding a calendar to the app would make it easier for us to know which plant needs watering. -when my plant is sick and overwatered, the app still gives me a reminder to water the plant even if it diagnosed it as overwatered. It would be helpful to not have it in the “water” reminders if it is identified as overwatered. Looking forward to more improvements for this app! UPDATE: Omg! You actually read my feedback :D this makes me happy and feel heard! Also, thank you for showing me that I can edit the watering cycle and change the date! Looking forward to the grow light options and to the many more additions to this app <3

Hands down the best plant app. I have around 40 houseplants and this has been a god send. I’ve tried over 20 apps, and this blows them all out the water. The plant recognition function is hands down the most impressive. It was even able to identify my dead African Marigolds from JUST the shriveled up stem. That’s a miracle and far better than others that were unable to detect even some basic, healthy plants. I love how it auto sets your watering schedule based on your location and environment (instead of manually having to add it). The only function I find lacking is the Doctor function. It is kind of basic and stops after a few prompts. If there was an option to take a picture of your sick plant and have the Doctor tell you what was wrong based on that, then this will make this app go above and beyond. For example, something that would identify pest types by a picture you take in the same way it detects the plant type….and have it able to detect what is wrong with the leaves or branches. It should be easy for the app to see that a succulent plant is over watered based on it being swollen and yellowish.

One Addition I Think Should Be Added, Considering The Price!. I downloaded this after seeing it in the Apple store, but upon seeing the price for a year, and no permanent price, for instance, I was rather dismayed to discover that there wasn’t a list of the current plants that could be shown to us with their photos and common and scientific names, before we purchase this app for any length of time or of the premium plan! I happen to be a multi year customer of two major nurseries back east, in Connecticut and in Florida, and they have a vast selection of the rarest tropical plants and tropical flowers and tropical fruit, of anywhere in the country, and possibly in the entire world including Australia! Before I would purchase this, I would want to have communications with this developer and give them the names of those nurseries and await their response, and know that they do have all of the needed information first! I am not about to pay down $36, and then find it won’t be of little or any use to me! But I think they give us too little to make any real determination about whether we want his app or not, and rather force us into paying for this before we have any real idea of how much good or not, it would do us in attending to our plants correctly, considering the vast array of plants that are out there! It’s much easier to get information about plants that grow in this United States, but not from outside of our borders!

Good app, but could use some changes.. Great concept, and really cool for the plants it has support for. However, there are a lot of plants (especially California native plants!) that don’t have any support. There should be an option to add your own plants in and put in the associated watering schedule, much like the current “custom care” setting. That way, people who know their plants can still have the benefits of having all their plant lists in one place. Also, it is odd to me that the scientific names of the plants are so hidden. Most serious plant growers are familiar with scientific names more so than common names, and it’s a little frustrating when search results come in sorted by common name with only the genus visible (sometime). When i tried to find a plant that the app did not support i tried to search the genus but the results were muddled by the common names. So in summary: this app would be even better if users can add their own plants in (possibly contributing to plantas database of plant knowledge; making it easier on devs to add new plant support), and if common names were less emphasized than scientific names. Update: thanks for the response! Changed my rating to 5 stars.

So easy and functional.. I have about 30 plants of all kinds in my house. I needed a plant management system to help me. I have tried three systems with just five plants each to see which system had the most features and also was easy to use. I used the premium feature that has to be paid for on two of the apps. After two weeks of kicking the tires on each one, I found Planta to have the most features right at the place where you need them. Here is an example- the plant watering schedule will list all the plants that need watering that day with a picture you provided or the one out of their library. Let’s say your plant does not need watering that day and you want more info on the watering requirements of that plant. Just click on plant picture and then all the plant info appears. It presents this cool chart for each plant showing the water requirements by month so you can adjust your watering requirements. So in the warm period (Feb-Octin your plant hardiness zone) you can set the watering schedule you need to do. Then you can set a different watering schedule for that plant in the cold period. Pretty cool and so easy. I am still trying out all the other features. Great app.

Good concept, but needs work. I almost don’t want to recommend any new plant owners use this app, with the fixed watering schedule without knowing your location and tracking your local weather, you may get your plants killed with this app. I’ve been using the app for one month now. I’m not an expert on plants, but I have about 20 indoor and outdoor plants that lives over 5+ years. A healthy plant requires more than just watering, it also depends on lighting, and local weather. Even in the same house, you may experienced a plant grows different on a different location of the house. For Planta’s free plant, it only offers FIXED watering dates, which you can’t even make personalization changes. Does paid version fix this problem? It didn’t say—this, the marketing team did a bad job on promoting the paid version. With the fixed schedule, for my tomato I bought in March, it’s recommending to water every 3 days, until today, May 7, it still says the same thing. But I live in California and today the highest temperature is above 90, you basically have to water tomato everyday otherwise it’s gonna die. Same with my indoor plants. One plant I’ve been watering it once a week for years, then Planta suggests to water it every two weeks. I decided to give it a try, and going to stop this suggestion as I see the plant leaves gotten bad. I’m currently debating on deleting this app, as I don’t see its being actually helpful.

Some bugs that need fixing. Overall, I think this app is great! I paid for the annual subscription. As a plant novice, the watering/fertilizing/misting schedule has, if anything, helped me to become more familiar with my plants. There a few things I think could use some improvement. -Sometimes, based on the “info” portion for each plant, the app will say for example “water every 6th day in September”. However I would notice that I wouldn’t get a notification to water that plant even after 6 days have passed -fertilizing/watering schedule. The app will notify you when it’s time to fertilize your plant, which must be done with a watering. However, once you have performed and checked off the task for fertilizing, you then have to add an extra task that you’ve watered the plant. If not, the app will think that perhaps you haven’t watered since the last check-off, and will then remind to water at a sooner than necessary date, which may lead to overwatering. So typically, whenever there is a reminder to fertilize and no reminder on the same day to water, I’ll have to go to the plant profile and determine if I should snooze the fertilize task, or both water and fertilize that day. Or perhaps the main issue is that the app will remind to fertilize when it’s not even time for a watering. It can get confusing, but I’ve found my way around it.

Could be improved. I’m a paid member, and I absolutely love this app. It keeps me on track when the number of plants I have to take care of is overwhelming. It’s beautiful and gives great information on each plant. The reason for 3 stars is because I think there are so many ways it could be improved. Namely, more customizations and better care info. I wish I could give my pilea plant a custom task like “rotate once every three days” or something. Or I could choose which image I want as the main picture for my plant while still adding more pictures in its personal album. I wish the app included the size of the pot in how often we need to water, because my smaller pots need water much more often than my larger ones too. I also wished the care instructions were more in depth. Each plant is given the same categories of care, but as plant owners know, some plants have very specific care needs. It would be great if each plant had its own small blurb at the end written by someone at the planta team which felt more personal. These suggestions are just to name a few. I hope with more and more updates we start to see an app with better functionality while still keep its clean and easy-to-use look.

Great for Newbies, One Major Request. I love plants but have a black thumb, I’ve never been able to keep anything alive. My friend kept encouraging me to try again but I knew I’d need help knowing how to care for my plant babies and Planta has been awesome! I’ve been using it for a few months now and my plants are doing great! One major request, though- local weather!!! We had a cold snap recently and I had to Google each outdoor plant I have individually to figure out what I needed to bring inside for the weekend. We are also going to have rain for the next couple of days for the first time since I got outdoor plants for my deck, and I’ll need to do the same thing today to make sure there aren’t any that won’t tolerate some major extra waterings. I would 100% pay for premium if it had these features. Aside from that I’m still giving this 5 stars because even with the free version I am keeping tons of plant babies healthy for the first time ever!

App is Limited. The app is good for everyday use if you pay for premium, I’m just disappointed in the options in learning about weather your lil green dude is in a good place, EX. I have a store bought monstera adanonsii and it came in water (hydroponically). I can’t find anything on here whether or not it’s ok or not or even how to care for it in a situation I have. This app is good for soil keepers and that’s about it. Glad I didn’t get premium to end up with info that didn’t need. I just want an informative app that allows me to run scheduling for my plants. Now granted it does that but just very cut and dry and limited in options. And even if my plant isn’t meant for hydroponic growing there isn’t a feature to advise me about it. Limited care and is just not as informative as it’s made to seem being a creators choice or whatever it is. Now granted they did have that option I hope that I could at least run a weeks worth at minimum of premium care for a plant before I have to pay. I just think this app is very stiff and defeats the whole purpose of getting a “smart” app for my plant. I just wanna have apps not beg for money and do little to nothing for me in return.

Very Interested…But. I refuse to use Apple Pay Wallet or PayPal due to painful identity theft. I was willing to submit my one credit card for payment. It was not accepted but rather recommended the aforementioned subscription & payments option. Nope! As much I would enjoy this. I can find other resources. Maybe not as fancy or as detailed, but not as risky either. The App creators should not be limited to Apple’s Monopoly on payment methods. You are losing subscribers while Apple makes money on the device, your software and rejecting any payment option that won’t contribute to their monopoly. As soon as my Apple phone is extinct, as is my iMac and iPad, I’m done with Apple. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our other products EXCEPT Apple will not updated the operating system. We are expected to purchase simply because Apple refuses to update older models. HA! Not happening. We have a cheap laptop & are living fine without our iPads. Your company should be investigated for unfair business practices and illegal monopoly. Not that I care. I’m a professional trouble shooter. I can work around your greedy (liberal) money grabbing lack of decency. Just watch! Tired of your B.S. and your in-your-face politics. All about it green energy while you bury perfectly good computers, etc. because you choose the almighty dollar over the environment. Climate change is about making money. Planta developers suffer because you want me to use your payment scheme. Disgusting!!

Amazing But..... This app is amazing and works well. I have been watering my plants every time I get a notification. I am still a new ish plant owner. Because I have only recently gotten into plants. I personally think that the plant scanner should be free. Now hear me out. I can not afford to pay for Premium. And a lot of the plants (succulents) I buy do not have the name of it on the tag. For instance one of the succulents I bought from a store was just called “succulent in a tin”. I was unable to identify the plant and because I am unable to afford Premium I could not find out the name. Thus resulting in me having to go under “cacti and succulents” and scrolls for like 2 and a half hours before I was able to find the correct name of the succulent bought. You are also ( from my knowledge) unable to change the main picture of your plant. When the plants grows more or I move it or I repot it I would like to be able to change to main picture of the plant. For example, I just recently repoted my ivy and was unable to change the photo that is showed when I need to water the plant. But I am only able to add pictures to the “add details” spot after watering and it does not update the main photo. Overall these are my only problems. And the app is amazing other wise. I hope this was able to help someone. 🌿🌿

I find myself becoming increasingly frustrated with the app's lack of features. As my plant collection and knowledge has grown I've found myself becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of some crucial details or rather, the inability to add them. There's no option for leca or sphagnum moss as substrate. The watering schedules for some plants are just completely off. My collection is largely indoors and under grow lights and temperature is 70+ degrees so there should be an option to keep the watering schedule consistent during the "off" season, but instead I either have to update it for every plant (about 90) to a custom watering schedule or continue to add watering events which doesn't help anything but waste more time. Most of my plants haven't slowed down since fall began, so I don't see the point of Planta changing the watering schedule. I don't find it worth paying for Planta when it makes me this frustrated and will be phasing it out. It's also buggy and slow when I'm trying to click the bubbles to complete a task. I feel like the app could be better. Right now, I'm regretting the subscription. I've used this app for 6 months.

Amazing App, 1 Suggestion. I have finally upgraded my account to Premium and am loving it even more now. However, I do see one inconvenient thing regarding the fertilizer options. I believe another user also brought this up. When you add a plant it asks how you want to fertilize it.. I clicked “slow release sticks” for some of my plants but have started using the little pump bottles by Miracle Gro for both succulents and indoor plants instead. I cannot change this as a setting for my plants, and do not want to go back in and re-add them just to update the fertilizer settings. Is this a feature that can be added to an future update? The fertilizer schedule isn’t accurate now since I would most likely be using the pump fertilizer more frequently than the slow release sticks. Other than this feature that I wish could be changed, this is an extremely helpful and thorough app, and I even use it in the classroom with my students for the plants they have brought in!

Missing key pieces. This app achieves the very basics, but that’s it. For what I paid, I expected a lot more. The ailment diagnostic and treatment feature is practically unusable. I have gone in several times already knowing my plant’s ailment and have not gotten the right answer after answering all of Planta's prompts. I had to enter them manually, which was STILL harder than it had to be. Just let me click a button that says my plant has sunburn! Other ailments like thrips it tells you how to treat and then when you click that you’ve done it for the day it says you’ve “cured” thrips. Anyone who has battled thrips knows one treatment does not cure thrips. So this feature is not accurate or useful. Plant ID is completely inaccurate and there are a shocking number of common houseplants missing or labeled in a super weird way in the app. The light meter, one of the premium features, did not work. It told me every room was dark, including my south facing windows. Lastly, it gives you way too many things to do for each plant, I think just to make you think you need the app. My plants do not need to be misted twice a week. That is absolutely bonkers. No chance I am continuing my subscription of this app.

Latest update has created a nearly unusable app. The app used to work wonderfully. But I would honestly recommend passing on it until they implement some fixes. I’m not sure if it was the latest update, but suddenly I have a very laggy, buggy app with no way to mark plants as watered (if you happen to deter from their schedule). It’s actually created a lot of confusion and I have a dozen or so plants that are completely out of whack with the app not properly recording data. Aside from that, the app no longer wants to mark any task as complete without a fight. I have 50+ plants, so this can mean a lot of tasks in one day. It freezes on the loading screen when you click the check mark and in most cases, I’m having to force close the app just to get off that screen. Sometimes the task is recorded, sometimes it’s not. If it’s not, you click the check mark again and it gives you a red error (presumably it did record the task just not anywhere you can see), and then it’ll finally show it as complete on your end. This is a lot of added steps towards the main function of this app. It’s supposed to make things more convenient and easy to track and right now, I do not feel it is living up to that. Again, I used to LOVE this app and if they can turn these more recent issues around, I would recommend it. I just feel any newcomers will find it very frustrating in its current state.

Not as good as it was. After using this app for several months, my opinion of it has fallen significantly. It started out great, but this last update just it not for me. The “beta” version of the app that helps you identify problems you may be having with your plants is absolutely terrible because if you do not already know what the problem is then you’re clueless on how to proceed with the questions it asks. The previous method was to show pictures and ask you to identify what was closest to your issue and it was super easy and step by step. Furthermore, the app has slowed so much that I no longer have the patience for it. When you tap on the icon to complete a task, such as watering, it takes at least 45 seconds of spinning wheel to update. Then it will auto refresh to the top of your list, causing you to have to scroll all the way back down to where you where. Based on these minor annoyances and the fact that I was unable to contact support through their channels, I am leaving my review here and canceling my subscription.

Indispensable app for tracking my 50+ houseplants. Even though I use a moisture meter and always check the soil beforehand, having a watering schedule to remind me has been so helpful. Having 50+ houseplants also means that being able to quickly take pictures, make notes, and have the names and info there for reference is super helpful. One thing I would love to see is some way for the app to learn that some of my plants don’t conform to the standard watering schedule. For example, because humidity and light matters so much (and can be very different from the outdoors and even in the same room), if I’m consistently snoozing for a certain plant, I’d want the app to learn and space out the reminders more. Or if machine learning is too difficult, it’d be nice to have an option where you could indicate that you prefer to err on the side of *underwatering* and the app would add a slight delay/buffer to the watering reminders.

Needs “similar plant”. Need to have a similar plant option. Finding it frustrating scrolling for days and not being able to find what I have, because it was a cute unlabelled plant at a small plant dtore

Useless app. Very disappointed with the app. Doesn’t really do much, can’t even recognise my plans correctly and only tells me when to water them, which I can check by myself. Waste of money

Top tier app. I don’t usually leave reviews but this app has saved all my plants from certain death. It even made me feel more confident handling many plants, so I bought a lot more. And they are doing really well too! I have now about 30 happy plants. The support is also great, it doesn’t feel like you’re talking to a machine. They understand your request and provide you with the information you didn’t even knew you needed. Shout out to Elin! Definitely the best bucks I’ve spent on the App Store.

So much growth. Since I stared using this app. My plants have never been happier. Lots of new growth. Love the reminders and that it’s set for my area.

Well I dont know. I applied for the 1 month and paid but all i get is the circle going around and around It wont load completely or something I have hi speed internet so its not that so i dont know

Would not recommend. This app indentified nearly all of my plants wrong and gave no real helpful suggestions would not recommend

So Disappointed. I am so disappointed that I paid more than $50 for this and really want a refund. I was convinced by the reviews but it is too superficial and inaccurate. Just told me again there is rain my my area….I live in Western Australia and no rain for weeks and none is forecasted. Unless they mean AUSTRALIA is my area 🙄🙄 really unhappy

Wasted my money. Wish I hadn’t wasted my money. Used the identifying feature on 3 different plants with completely wrong answers. Completely useless for what I want it for

Hmmm. I can not work out how to upgrade to premium.

Good if you know what plants you have. The overall performance of the app is rlly good however the only improvements I would add is better plant identifying (if you already know what plants you have you don’t need to worry about this) and how to restore damaged plants and identifying what’s wrong with them

Poor identification. I looked at a few apps and chose this one, however, although having paid for the full year, I’ll not be using it. It could barely identify any plants correctly, giving you a choice of many possibilities - meaning I had to go to books and search online for the correct identification. Also no option to look at vegetables in the garden. Disappointing and a waste of money.

Needs another option. I’m only new to this app so can’t rate fairly … my apologies A lot of my plants are in self-watering pots & it gives no options or guidelines … for thirsty plants I leave some water in the well (but which plants) - others I’ll shower until water just runs through & let dry out (for how long tho) … is it right??? - is it wrong??? Best way to feed & when … ect What plants benefit from self-watering pots & what don’t Like I mentioned … only new to app … does it cater to a persons general living areas ie: Melbourne (Australia) … I’m just using free option atm Thanks

Best app I have. I tried a number of different plant apps and this is the best by far, I have recommended it to many plant-obsessed friends. I upgraded to the premium version as a trial and it’s one of the only paid apps I have that I think is worth the money. A couple of suggestions for future releases would be the ability to transfer plants to a friend who also has the app - I’ve recently moved and gave away and sold quite a few of my plants - it would have been great to be able to transfer them so the recipient could have all the history too. Would also be great to have a function for plants that you want to keep the history for but no longer have the actual plant. Deleting the plant deletes all the history, but the plant hasn’t died so the graveyard isn’t quite right either. But that is being picky! Overall a great app - thanks!

OH YAAAH. It’s really good and really healthy my plants r already making lots of progress in their health and growth

Cannot login. Changed phones and now the app won’t login. I always get an error message to contact support. Did that and never heard back from them. Very disappointed

Doesn’t realise which hemisphere I am in. I love so many features of this app but it is frustrating that it knows where I live and when I’ve had rain, yet it doesn’t realise I am in the southern hemisphere and prepare for spring tasks are 6 months too soon. What should I be doing to prepare for winter? I can’t seem to override this anywhere. I’ve submitted a support ticket but seems not to have had a response.

No Trial Period. The app looks wonderful but I’m not willing to buy a month subscription just to try the photo feature on it. Would be so much better if they give you a trial period to use the plant camera once or twice before needing a subscription.

Very helpful. Really good app. Helps to keep track with the watering schedule for each of my plants. I’m just starting so it’s really hard to know exactly what to do to keep them alive and happy. Biggest downside is that the subscription is quite expensive. Even the 12 month subscription is too much for an app.

You have to pay for the Dr planter. Mostly paid features

Not free to use as a plant identifier. If you’re considering downloading this for the plant identifier feature, then don’t. That function is only included on the premium edition with a monthly subscription fee.

Needs parameters for Southern Hemisphere. Please update pruning schedule etc. to suit plants located in Southern Hemisphere. Other than that this is an amazing app.

Silly. You can't do anything with this app until you pay $56 which is ridiculous as you can find all the information they're telling you out on the internet for free... I wouldn't bother downloading the app for anyone.

Ive had a premium account for like 10 minutes and it’s already blowing my mind. Obsessed

Update makes the app unusable. I've loved Planta for over a year and been recommending it to everyone I know. But the latest update has signed me out of the app, and I'm unable to log back in because the "Forgot password" button is beneath the keyboard 🙄

A great app to keep my plants alive but I don’t like why do you have to pay. It’s a great app to keep my plants alive and tell me what I need to water but I can’t get the other things because they’re really expensive and I can’t get the premiums because they’re too expensive and I really need I really want them to be free so you could have all of them in the base of the app do you have the trimming fertilising moisting

not bad but location doesn’t update. i don’t mind this app as i mostly use it to keep track of my collection but it does tend to prompt me to water my plants a little too often. that isn’t an issue for me though. the problem is when i first downloaded this app i was in another state of my country and it hasn’t reset back to my home location since coming back home. how do i change it? if someone could let me know that would be helpful. thanks

Love it but does not adjust for Southern Hemisphere. I love this app and my houseplants are looking great after using it for a month. I even signed up to the paid version. My one complaint is that it does nothing adjust for the fact that I live in Sydney Australia. It knows the weather (and warns me when it is going to be hot) but pruning schedules are all off (governed by northern hemisphere seasons) and I can see that it is advising the wrong months for indoor plants to move out and vice versa. This one fix would make this app amazing.

Pretty good. It’s great for indoor plants basic information. But it feels like most information is locked until you pay for it, including toxicity (!), and the price is quite high monthly. Outdoor plants aren’t supported, with no options for just planting something in the ground. No info on trees or large shrubs.

Waste of money. Dr planta is useless. I contacted several times about the same issue and they were unhelpful. App also didn't recognise some of my plants. These are common plants.

let me change plant site!. This app is super helpful but I would love it if I could change the location of my plants without having to delete and re add them :)

New colours are baby poop. I can’t look at baby poop every day. Had to unsubscribe. Sorry. Email when you go back to the original look and you can have my money again. Ewwwww And the contrast of it gives me a headache. It wasn’t broken. Why did you wreck it?

Turning my black thumbs green. I love this app. I am a serial killer of plants - shocking track record. So far this is keeping them alive, 3 months in and they’re looking good. The only thing I wish is that I could add my own notes, and greater granularity on varieties - I got a bunch of Chinese evergreens of different types, but they aren’t all in the database.

What happened??. I have the premium service and the app was amazing until the last couple of updates. Now it keeps crashing on me, some of my plants have disappeared so I have had to re add them when I notice a plant I haven’t cared for in a while only to find it gone from my list. With the latest update, when I check off tasks, it takes forever to load, then when I open the app again later the tasks have reappeared!!! I have tasks I completed a few days ago still waiting for completion saying they are 3 days overdue. Close to canceling my subscription

Useless and full of ads free, Premium overpriced. Ultimately the app does have potential. The free version is very limited which is expected and i'd be happy so settle for if they didn't constantly push the premium version. The UI is ingrained with ads for it, constantly suggests features hidden behind the paywall, and sends push notifications to buy it. Even considered it but for $55... a year!? What a joke.

Best plant app!. Absolutely love this app!! It has such a wealth of information and helpful doctors for when your plants aren’t doing great! Some suggestions Would you be able to add a selection for closed terrariums as the watering of these is very different in comparison to open plants. Also an option for seedlings and propagations would be very helpful as well as they require different conditions and more care. Thank you!!

Invasive data collection. Goes way beyond what it needs to

Great. It’s helpful to remind me about all my plants, however it keeps crashing after the update.

Plant care. This app is deceiving. I thought it would help me identify the problem or disease with a plant as you mention DrPlant in your description…. How do we access advice for a plant which has spots on it?

So Easy!!!. This app is so easy to work with I only have 2 plants but it tells me about them and helps me take care of them! So yeah best plant app ever!! Thank You!!!😁😁😁😁

Great app.. It seems to underwater some plants but you can set your own schedule for them. Totally keeps me from forgetting when I did what and who needs what

My plants are thriving. I do not have a green thumb and am very pleased to see most of my plants thriving by following the app’s instructions. One feature request: a way to pause notifications during vacations…. I can use the schedule to provide instructions to my plant-sitter but it would be helpful to pause the checklists at the same time.

Amazing app, terrible lag. I’d recommend this app for anyone, from beginner to expert gardener. But the lag is sooooo bad that I’m forced to subtract 2 stars. It was much faster a year ago.

I like Planta but DISLIKE how it handles LECA. It used to be better on this but it made an adjustment a while and it seems like so many plants go leca are 2 weeks in between watering or more and it’s very annoying to have to do custom care on all my Leca plants since I have over 70 Hoya in Leca. I wish they had better ai for this category. I wish it could make adjustments when it sees me needing to water early. I wish it had a adjustment to suggest more frequently when all of the ways to finagle it naturally have already been used. It’s still a useful tool, but a partially broken one.

Planta Review. Works great and my dead plant thrived but can’t use a lot of premium features like Dr.Planta or “How to Water”. Other than that, it’s great! Recommend it 👍😊

Good most of the time…. Not sure what happened today, but I now no longer have access to the communities tab. Not sure if it’s for only premium users now, if I was banned (I made several posts earlier today), or if it’s an issue. Help has been requested, I’ll see if they respond.

Rejuvenated my plants. I love my plants and sometimes I love them too much and I can end up overwatering them or with my busy schedule I often second guess myself thinking I hadn’t watered my plant to later find out I did leading it to develop root rot. This app is a game changer my plants have never looked happier thank you so much this really gave me a break from stressing about my plants. Your app is amazing :)

Can’t live without it…literally. I would over-love my plants and they’d die so I’d get new plants and under-love them and they’d die! I thought I just had a black thumb. With Planta you get a specific watering and fertilizing schedule for every plant you have plus care tips and Plant Doctor if one is looking sad. The plant identifier feature is genius and spot on most of the time. If you see a plant in the grocery store and think “hey that’s a cool plant, what is it?” Just scan it with Planta and it tell you what plant and if it’s the right fit for you. Honestly since getting Planta I haven’t lost any plants. I’ve actually acquired probably 20 new plants because I have far more confidence in my plant caregiving now. It’s impossible for plants not to thrive provided you follow the care schedule. I would %100 recommend this app.

Great but no plant identification. I love the app, the notification and tips for watering make it easier to look after plant. The only thing I would need to give five stars is plant ID. I don’t appreciate that it is for premium, because I am only able to ad half of my plants to the app, the rest I don’t know what type they are, so I can’t add them and it’s guesswork to care for them. Disappointed about the no ID, that one is just basic service to me.

Horrible. It can’t even identify a plant. I tried 3 plants and they were all wrong. I want my money back.

A real game changer!. Like the title says, this app has changed my life! I am no longer forgetting to water my plants, nor am I playing the ‘when to water’ guessing game. Since discovering Planta, the few plants I had, have gone from looking a little droopy & sad to looking perky & happy, AND I’ve actually gained some much-needed confidence to get a couple more plants. I’ve always wanted my home to be full of plants, but I shied away from them because I knew bringing anything new home was basically a death sentence, not to mention a real waste of money. Now my plants are finally thriving and I look forward to adding a few more. I’ve even made a list of plants that I want, and I’m looking forward to being able to get out to a specialty plant shop or two after things return back to normal. Currently, I have only been using the basic plan as the premium subscription plan is rather costly. Money is tight right now due to Covid, so I can’t justify paying for a year’s worth of premium all at once, and the monthly rate is simply way too steep to maintain regularly. I keep hoping the devs will offer a ‘Covid sale’ that gives us the option to pay the yearly rate monthly, or offer the yearly rate at a reduced cost, like a lot of other apps have been doing. I’d jump at the opportunity if that were to happen! Premium may be an option for me someday down the road, but as it stands now, I’ll continue to enjoy & care for my plants using the free features.

Pretty good. I use this for my approximately 30 house pants for the watering schedule and it’s very useful. I would consider upgrading to premium if it wasn’t so insanely expensive.

Suggestions. I just got this app and am so far enjoying it. The only suggestion I would make is to add customizable sites, as I have a mini greenhouse in my bedroom that most of my plants are in. Because of this, my plants in this site retain a lot more moisture for longer, so the watering schedule is way off.

Freezes up constantly. I have used this app for several years and it helped me keep track of watering. This last year however I have used it less and less because of it freezing up. I loved that I could record my plant progress but recently it just freezes completely up and trying to use the app is just frustrating and takes forever. I will likely delete it if bugs are not fixed.

No free trial of premium.. The app is barely usable it’s it’s “free” edition. I won’t buy any app ever that does not allow for a free trial of the premium version. I don’t want to pay for something that’s not worth it! And it’s hard to determine that when most of the app is locked out.

Easy tracking. The watering reminders are helpful and I like that I can customize the schedule if I am snoozing the same plant often. Just got the new widget on my iPad but it is way too small to tell which plant it is.

Could be better. Good app but I wish it could do more than tell you when to water it without paying. Even if it told you how much water to give it , that would make it so much better

Love this!. I have well over 300 house plants and this makes it so easy to keep track of them, subscribed and the picture identifier works really well, I’ve had some other apps that don’t work at all... only thing is I would love a complete all button, with so many plants it’s a pain to select each plant to say I’ve watered it, would love an option at the top to check them all off!

Love. Great app to keep track of everything!!

Helpful, but a bit generic. This app has been super helpful to keep track of watering, fertilizing, and misting for my 100+ plants. Unfortunately the advice it gives regarding plant care is a bit generic and has led to a few plants suffering from either under or over watering. I tried making sure all the plant details were added to each plant but that didn't seem to make much difference. I tried using the diagnostic and treatment function, but also found it to be somewhat generic and similar to what a quick online search would provide. I also found the plant identification function to be quite limited. I paid for a yearly subscription, but 6 months after using it I decided to not renew it. I think theres limited value added beyond the free version.

Not for outdoor plants. Not for plants that have been planted. Cool app but not useful for me

rating. you need to pay for the good stuff, always being told buy for blah blah blah and it’s just ugh i just wanna take care of my plants man

I thought I found the perfect app. The option to select that I'm using a grow light is a premium feature. What a bummer.

The content is horrible. Some plants have information that is “canned” and used for other plants. I’ve found a couple of instances where I am looking for information about my fern and get info about caring for an orchid? Whut?? How would a beginner know if the instructions are correct for their plant if the wrong info is associated with it?? The watering and fertilizing schedule is also really off - I just repotted my plant and it’s already asking me to water it?? And a few days later, feed it?? It also identified my philodendron as a dumb cane multiple times (among many other incorrect plant IDs). There are also so many grammar and spelling errors, it’s like the CMS is just plugging in names of plants into canned content to be reused. At $53 a year, I was hoping this could be a guide for me to care for more advanced plants, but there are just way too many content inaccuracies for the basic ones that I’d be faster to kill my plants myself, than to use this app to kill them. Want a refund.

My plants would be dead without this app.. This is the most useful app I have.

Great app!. I’ve been using this app now for two months and my plants have never been healthier. A lot of mine we’re on the verge of dying, but since going on a water schedule and implementing misting and fertilizing, they have never been better 😊 My only suggestion is to include outdoor plants. I am struggling with my junipers and spruce bush outside. I understand it might be hard to advise when to water because of different location temperatures but any tips would help. I tried scanning a photo of my outdoor plant for tips and there are no results, unfortunately. Still gave this app 5 stars because of the indoor function. Thanks!

We love plants!. Great way to remember to water your plants! It's not always spot on but at least I'm checking all the time and my plants are thriving!

Not what I thought. I thought this app would scan my plant and tell me what it needs, more sun, less water etc but all this does is tell u what the plant is and when u should water. It does not diagnose problems. Not worth the cost of it and sadly I’m out $11 to learn this app is crap.

The watering is off. Any experienced houseplant owner will tell you not to put your plants on a fixed schedule. Every plant has different needs in different environments and they need watering to be done according to the soil dryness. Following the schedules on Planta, your plants will most certainly get too much water and die of root rot. A better way to water your plants is to stick your finger or a moisture meter in the soil and feel the dryness. When researching your new plant, you should come across information about how dry it likes its soil to be. Once you’re sure that it’s ready for a water, go ahead and water the plant very thoroughly. It’s important to douse the soil multiple times to make sure water is getting to all the soil. And remember these 2 things: Underwatering is always better than overwatering, and it’s better to give a thorough watering every few weeks than to give a little splash every few days (every plant is different and not all of them are accurate to this suggestion so do your research). This method is much more effective and guarantees fulfilling the needs of each plant. 1 star, would not recommend this app.

Update. Good app needs some updating on the accuracy on location weather

Helpful. Not always completely user friendly but the watering reminders are very useful.

Secret to a Green Thumb. I’ve gone from killing every plant I touch to maintaining an apartment full of lush, happy plants! (32 and counting…) Everyone asks me what my secret is and it is 100% Planta. I cannot recommend this app enough!!!

No option for sowing directly to soil. I sow some of my vegetables to the big garden bed and there're only option for pots??

Nice but. Its a nice app, many details, location, sun from xyz… Funny enough I mooved, quite a bit the sun the windows …. All changed, but I can’t change my physical adresse in the app 😂 so it is not as good as it was for my plants 🤷🏼‍♀️

Great app for all.. This app is wonderful and has helped me keep my watering on track. 95% of my plants are covered by this app, which has one of the most accurate watering schedules I’ve ever seen. Generally I like to keep away from set schedules, but with how in depth this app is, I haven’t had a problem. Some of my more finicky plants I keep a closer eye on and double check before I water to make sure they don’t get overwatered. Other than that is great. I will write another review once I’ve thoroughly tried the premium.

App won’t open. The most recent update has made it so that I can’t open the app. Once Selected it starts to open and immediately shuts down again

Nice app but lacking features. This app really helped me gain more knowledge about the plants in my collection. I’m now fairly comfortable with caring for plants that might be considered as tricky. There is also a ton of great information, especially for beginners. However, as I get more experienced with my plant care I find that the app just doesn’t have some of the features I want. For example, if I’m treating some plants for pests, I want to be able to log that as something more than a “Note” or “Cleaned”. I’d like to be able to set up custom tasks (ie: “Pest Treatment”) and then set my own schedule for it (ie: every 7-10 days for ‘x’ repetitions). Otherwise I’m finding I have to start tracking that elsewhere and suddenly I’m using multiple apps. The other thing I wish it has was more customization on plant environment. For example: if I’m using a grow light I would like to log those grow lights specs. Overall it’s a good app if you just want something to keep on top of your watering. But if you want a more detailed log of your plant care it’s maybe not the best.

Disappointing…. I believed all the hype and purchased this app from the onset … 45 plant entries and a couple months in and I’m HUGELY DISAPPOINTED. I wanted an app in which I could keep simple notes on the plant, what I’m doing, and set reminders to go forth from there. This app in no way is intuitive… it’s a complete dis-connect when I go to check previous notes, a lot of the questions for registered information on the individual plants are useless, like asking if the plant is beside a heat vent or a air conditioner vent??? This is a waste of space and my time. The plant ID has never once got even the most obvious of plants correct, there’s no systematic way to make entries and edit or change information let alone try and change from original entry. I could go on and on … for $50.00 + I expected much more and I would never have purchased given a trial run with all the so called ‘Features’. It would be easier and more useful to set up my own spreadsheet. I think most of the people who give this five star reviews are not actual paying users of the app as I find it hard to believe that I’m on my own about how this app works. I won’t continue paying after my year expires and I hope that Planta takes this seriously and really looks hard at how disconnected the app is from how we use.

Plant ownership made simple. Google searching no more! Research? Not needed! One stop all you need in this app. My favourite part is that it’ll let you know if the spot you pick is enough light for the plant you have. Taking out the guessing work

Premium app is perfect.. I started using this app because I wanted to get into houseplants again and also learn more about the plants themselves. I will say that this app is only really worth it if you plan on upgrading to the premium version as the basic only provides watering reminders. With the premium you can keep track of all your plants very easily and it also provides a lot of knowledge resources. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a free plant diary app, this one probably isn’t for you. You can probably find more features elsewhere. But if you are interested in the premium version, it’s worth its weight in gold.

App doesn’t work. Hi. Not sure what went wrong today, but I cannot see the tasks anymore. They show in the plant list but once clicked individually, the screen is simply black. I cannot even see today or upcoming tasks. I even upgraded to Premium thinking that was a problem with the free subscription as I’ve been using this for a while and closed and reopen the app but nothing. I’d need this resolved or money back.

App crashes when opening. I hate to leave a bad review because I love this app, but the latest version keeps crashing before it fully loads, and there is nowhere on the app website to report a problem. The App Store also won’t let me report a problem because it’s a free app, so there’s nowhere else to report this! All my stuff is up to date and this appears to be a problem with the latest version as of Sept 16

Awesome. I love that it tells me about each plant and reminds me of when to water, mist, prune etc..I’m a beginner at plants here, so any help is good help. Easy to navigate. $45/yr isn’t bad, but I prob wouldn’t pay more should the price increase in the future.

ADHD plant parents will love. I’ve had this app for at least three years and I recommend it to any plant parent. The free version is good but the paid version is where it’s at. The reminders sometimes get overwhelming if you have lots of plants, like me, but everything is so straightforward and definitely a saving-grace for my plants.

Great way to keep track of my collection. I’ve been looking for an app to track my houseplants as well as the basics about watering and fertilizing. I love that the app includes basic information about the needs of each plant and lets you make notes and add new photos. The price for a premium subscription is steep and honestly not sure if I’ll be able to justify it in the long term, but I’ll see what I think after a couple months. I’ve also come across several plants in my collection that are not on the app. I wish there was at least an option to add plants to my own collection that aren’t recognized by the app because now I will have to keep track of those plants separately. Edited: You can submit a plant and they will review it to add to the app. Still think the subscription price is steep, but I like the format for tracking my plants and the care I’ve provided.

Incredible resource for any plant lover.. This app has been invaluable to keeping my many plants alive. Probably wasn’t that helpful back when I had two or three but now that I’m up in the triple digits I absolutely need to reminders to prevent over watering and keep me focused. I particularly love the progress reports because it’s so easy to forget how long you’ve had a plant or how small it was when it started. I have one really needy plant that I keep almost killing and it’s really interesting seeing the ups and downs over the months. With this many plants and hundreds of photos, the app can be a little sluggish at times. Hopefully they can work on some optimization to keep it feeling snappy even with so much going on. Sadly just as I was getting close to 100 plant milestone, there was an update that removed the total plant count - really hoping that makes a return at some point. I’d also love to see some way to group plants together other than by site. For instance, in my Office I have a few small plants that are grouped together in one pot. It can get tedious entering the pot/soil info for 3 or 4 or 5 plants when they’re all identical. And then when I water one plant in that pot, I’m actually watering all of them so it would be great to bulk-water that one pot. As it stands I would have to make it a separate “site” and then I could “add task to site”, but then I have way more sites than I really do. Anyway, that’s kinda nitpicky and overall I love this app. Literal (plant) life saver.

Nice UI Design But Useless Recommendations. The app has very nice design, it’s easy to use and I was impressed how many details you can put in. I also loved the plant type recognition- it tells you the name of the plant based on a photo. However their recommended schedule or plan doctor advices don’t work. You are better off with creating a schedule yourself in some common task manager (e.i. To Do from Microsoft). My plant started to be sick - it’s leaves were going yellow and dry and Planta said it’s most likely problem with light so I moved the plant to brighter spot. But it turned out the problem was watering. My local florist who sold me the plant immediately told me that and he told me I should water the plant every week while Planta said once per 21 days!

Makes Plant Care Easy!. Perfect app for keeping track of indoor plants. Lots of features and tips include which makes care easy! If you have multiple plants and a busy work/life schedule, get this app! It’s worth it.

Not bad but could use some more things. I like it as it helps me keep track of all my plants and I use the watering schedule as a reminder to check on my plants’ soil. I like the cool features like telling us the lumens of light in a area, and being able to sort the plants by room and individually. It’s also nice to view the plant’s data and learn more via there. I like the wishlist, but I wish we could add our own notes on the plants as well. I definitely think it could be improved though; I’m someone who likes a lot of customization. It would be nice to be able to: -change the species name without removing the entire plant -add plants that aren’t in the database for ourselves, not “adding a plant for review” and not being able to use it -add other reminders ourselves; ex. It would be helpful for me to have reminders to spray plants with pesticide -change how often to get mist reminders the plant -be able to select one task and then select several plants at once -adding notes that could be pinned on the plant’s front page (ex. My pitcher plant needs to be watered with distilled water only) -having a reminder to turn your plant -being able to view things such as pests, overwatering, etc. without diagnosing a plant Despite all the critiques, I do like this app and will continue using it. I just hope that the developers could use some of my suggestions :)

🥰. I’ve always wanted to be a LIVE plant mom but have unalived so much greenery (including low-maintenance succulents) over the last few years that I lost hope. Decided to give it a try again; bought a plant, downloaded the app and it has been thriving so much that I went out and got four more plants, all of which are doing phenomenally well. I have to give credit where it’s due and this app has absolutely helped me use the green thumb I always knew I had. Instructions regarding placement/lighting, watering and fertilizing are easy to follow and understand. They provide the tips that I need in order for my plant babies to flourish. Tips that would have helped me so many years ago when I first began. Thank you, Planta! You have no idea how much I needed this, not only to nourish my plants, but my soul ✨🫧💚

Hoping for location features. I use this app daily , I have the paid version, and it does help keep me on track with my busy schedule. I don’t completely rely on it however since some of the care instructions for plants aren’t 100% accurate to resources I’ve discovered online. But what would totally make this app amazing, is if I could enter in my address & have the app link up weather conditions for my area, and send me a notification if I need to move a plant to a covered area because it’s going to rain (if a tropical plant is located within an outdoor site), or if I need to move specific plants indoors because it may be too hot/too cold for that day. I would also like the feature of zones when placing plants outdoors. I know planta just started adding outdoor plants, but some of the most common ones are not on this app. So I half use it when it comes to my outdoor plants. 🙂🙂 Also, being able to filter “my plants” based on attributes would be super helpful if the weather notification feature isn’t implemented. Sometimes I accidentally click completed when it is not yet. If I could unmark a task, that would be great. Also, implementing a light monitor feature, to accurately place plants in their best spots would be wonderful. I saw another app had this feature but I don’t want to start over. ❤️🙏👍🏻

Decent but Still do your own research !!!. This app has some pros and some cons to it. I paid for the premium membership. I like the plant care reminders and ability to log your plants progress. There is some information for each plant, not extensive, but general. The plant identification tool is useful, and has worked 90% of the time. The descriptions of the ideal environment for your plant once you identify it and add it to your garden are very general. Also.... since adding my plants to this apps log and having it remind me when to water, it has recommended me to overwater several of my plants, which have caused several to die from root rot already. I have taken precautions to remedy this myself but it could have been prevented which is a bit frustrating since I’m paying monthly for expert advice. I still use the app but I’d strongly recommend you still research your plants idea care routine and environment, DONT just rely on this app

Not meant for beginners. This app has killed any plant that’s on leaf based of mine. Based off just following the watering guidelines it has destroyed the majority of my house plants. Without a paid subscription it’s a useless app. I’ve tried contacting support about this and they never got back to me. You can’t adjust anything in the free version of this so don’t expect much from this app unless you’re willing to pay over priced monthly fees for their services. $7.99 a month for an app that has only given me cause for caution as it’s killed so many of my plants?!?!! Yea ok! Not gonna happen. I know several people in several different states that this had caused trouble in their gardens and indoor plants and has wasted money for all of us. DO NOT USE THIS APP. It will do nothing but bring death to your babies. All of my plants are in fabric pots that reduce fungus’ and root rots and are all in good soil with proper windows to their needs as well as additional plant grow lights for rooms that don’t have enough natural lighting. And just by going off this apps recommendations I still was able to kill over half my plants. Again DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY FOOLING WITH THIS APP.

Great app but notifications are complicated.... this is a really awesome app. The idea behind it is wonderful, I just have two complaints about the notifications regarding watering. 1st, is most of the time I have to go into the app for the notification to pop up on a plant that needs to be watered, even though I have push notifications turned on. 2nd, I mainly own cactuses and succulents. So that being said watering schedules are extremely important for me, and my plants. So when I get random notifications saying that I need to water a plant i just watered a day or two prior is a bit concerning and when I open the app it continues to give me the same notification and doesn’t specifically say the last date of watering. Luckily I keep a hand written journal so I do have records. Regardless I think this app has so much potential if these issues were fixed in an update I really think it would be even better! Also I would like to thank the developers and can’t wait to see what else you do with this magnificent app!

Love this app! Not digging recent beta update :/. I love this app and it has helped me a whole ton. Recently it allowed me to test a beta version of a new Dr Planta they’re trying and I wasn’t sure where to leave feedback for it. Before it was straight to the point and asked me questions about what could be wrong, but now I have to take a picture of my plant for Planta to figure it out? I wish you could pick if you wanted to skip that feature or not because I usually compare what’s wrong with my plant with pictures on google anyway. I definitely prefer old Dr Planta better, but I wouldn’t be opposed to having both options! Over all the app is wonderful and I love being able to keep track of all my plants and their little care schedules. I’ve used Dr Planta so much because I’m a bit of a nervous plant parent, so it would be great to have the previous version still be an option :)

Great app, but a couple suggestions. This app has saved me from killing an unbelievable amount of plants. I rarely lose any now. It is a necessity for anyone with an overwhelming amount of plants. I love the sites, wishlists, graveyard, community tab, Dr Planta, specific instructions for fertilizing, watering and much more. However, I’ve noticed many other apps are superior to this one for plant identification. I personally use a different app for this because of how accurate it is. Planta’s just isn’t as accurate (yet). Also, I used to be able to scroll endlessly under the discover tab, finding new plants under the collections; foliage, cacti and succulents, flowering, etc. you used to be able to scroll endlessly. However for some reason it’s now limited. I don’t know if that’s a glitch with my app or what, but I’m not sure why they would get rid of it. That was one of my favorite things about Planta was the discovery, adding new plants to my wishlist.

Free version review - should allow photo identification. It seems an easy enough feature. Although, if you provided additional free features such as fertilization schedules that would make up for this lacking feature. However, my main issue is that you don’t allow the option for plants that have been repotted into a grow bag. While I can choose the closest type to the grow bag based on its qualities, it would be nice to be certain. I feel this is a fairly common option people use and the fact that it’s not available as a choice seems quite silly. I would also like to see a feature that takes into account the use of grow lights in areas that have been deemed too dark. While I can make mental adjustments, I think this would help ease the mind of beginner gardeners like me. I think if I had the premium version this would receive 4 stars, because the amount of information I’m missing in schedule notifications is very intriguing!!

Great app, will be even greater with new features!. I am a premium subscriber and have used Planta to help me manage my new houseplant obsession. It’s a great app! The progress update is my favorite feature, reminding me how far my plants have come since winter. One feature I hoped for (changing the plant type after creation) has already been implemented, thank you!! My next biggest wishlist item is that we could mark plants as “given away” or some status besides “dead.” I just gave a plant to a friend after caring for it for six months, so I’d like to keep the history rather than fully deleting it. It seems that moving to the graveyard is the only way to deactivate a care schedule. But that’s sad, the plant isn’t dead, it’s thriving! (A future/someday version of the feature could even be transferring a plant, history intact, to another Planta user!)

Great and.... Would love to see some improvements. I wish that you could back date tasks that were done (like maybe yesterday I thought I entered that I had fertilized a plant but I forgot to check it off as done and now the dates will be off). You can’t edit or change “completed tasks” and I have accidentally marked completed for a task I meant to skip or snooze. Also, I realized a plant was misidentified a few months after I added it but had to delete it and all its history to relist it with the correct identification (in order to get the correct water/fertilizing schedule). I’m not a huge fan of the Dr Planta, and find it easier to just Google a plant’s problem then enter the fix manually. Overall it’s a great app and I love that I can look back on a plant’s progress, and like the ability to adjust the watering schedule. I have the paid version and it’s worth it to me to get the prompts to fertilize. I do recommend this app and hope to see it improve too!

Very helpful app, but missing a few things. I’ve been using this app for about 2 months now, and it’s been so helpful! My plants are doing amazing, however, I wish there was an option to update a plant type without losing progress—some plant types if unknown in the beginning are hard for the app to identify. I just think it would be helpful to be able to change a plant into the variegated version, or for example, an unknown orchid into what it truly is! I’ve also noticed that there’s no grow light option; I think it would be helpful to be able to change settings on a plant so that the app knows to track that there’s enough light (some plants are drying out faster than the app expects it to, since it believes it’s not getting as much light in a north facing window). Overall, this app is amazing! It has a lot of minor details in each plant’s personal settings that allow for more accurate notifications.

Love this app but it could be better!. I have always loved house plants and have somewhat struggled to keep them alive. With this app I have 38 healthy babes! However, there are a few things that would improve this app for me. 1. In the my plants tab, let me filter my plants. Sometimes I want to find my lowest light plants, or all of my plants that don’t like drafts, or don’t like lime, or need humidity etc. I can find this info but I have to click on each of my 38 plants. 2. I love that I can browse plants that are recommended for me, but again I want to filter them. I want to filter them by light, size, toxicity, etc. overall I love love love this app and it’s helped me learn a ton along with reminding me of what my plans need and when. I totally recommend it. It could even be better with the option to filter your personal plants or ones your thinking about getting 😉

Planta To the Rescue!. I am new to having plants. I started collecting plants over the pandemic and fell in love! The trouble was I had a variety of plants with different needs. Some were flourishing and some looked a little rough. Planta app to the rescue! I love the reminders and tips. I love that as soon as you complete a task it automatically creates the next one, or allows you to snooze for a couple days or until the next scheduled time to do that task. The light meter is perfect because it helps me make sure I have the appropriate plant in each room. I was searching for plants in the “discover” section and found a plant I liked. The app told me (at least with the rooms I have listed in the app) that I did not have the appropriate light for this plant. Amazing! I would highly recommend this app to anyone with more than a plant or two. Definitely do the paid version as well. It makes plant owning a joy!

Prettiest plants I’ve ever had. This app has helped me manage over 100 plants in my home and they are gorgeous! The trick is monitoring moisture yourself and using the advice given and the two-day pause and skip buttons. Don’t water just because the app says so. You still need to make sure you don’t over water. The app tries to judge when it’s time to water based on the criteria you enter for each plant, but you still need to check the plants before you water, as recommended in the app. Planta never lets me forget to feed a plant. It also prevents me from over feeding. I don’t know what I’d do without it. My plants are so much more beautiful since I started using the app a year ago. There is no comparison. And I love the monthly progress feature. It’s fun to look at the monthly photos of your plants and see how much they’ve grown over a growing season. That’s actually one of my favorite features.

Love this app!. I just started growing/collecting succulents and with the amount I have accumulated already, without this app, I’m not sure I would be able to correctly keep up. The only issue I have experienced-there is no option for grow lights. For instance, my huge bay window, where the majority of my plants live, is a North facing window. According to the light meter, it is way too dark (makes sense) so I’ve added grow lights to the setup. The light meter doesn’t measure the light from the lamps and if I change it manually to “full sun” it tells me it’s not a good place for many of my plants or part-sun also not a good place for others. They are on a 12 hour, daily schedule. How can I set this lighting to reflect (haha) the amount of light these plants are actually getting? Besides this, I really live this app and appreciate how Much it helps me and my plants. ♥️🌱♥️

Generally good, with a few things that could make it better. I’ve been using this app for about 3 months and use it to keep track of well over 50 plants. I can organize them by locations and set lighting and indoor/outdoor settings to those locations. All very cool and very nice. I’m mostly pretty happy with it but there are a few things I wish I could do. First I wish I could customize the fertilizer reminders. That way I could read the packaging on my fertilizer and put it in the app. This app only allows for you to select 2 types of reminders: one for liquid and one for spikes/no fertilizer at all (so no reminders). My only other complaint is that I wish there was an identification function that didn’t require the rouse of adding a new plant. That’s more of a little complaint, but it’s nice when I’m at a store considering a new purchase 😅

Okay so. This app is absolutely amazing. My wife and I use it for our endless amount of every growing plants(see what I did there) I paid for the premium which identifies and recommends plants as well as having the room light sensor to help you. We come from a plant loving family so we knew what to deal with but the app gives specific reminders like the perfect time to fertilize again or mist if you didn’t know how often. One of my favorite parts is seeing all the plants that would go with each room in the plant search. My one not so perfect comment is the app has quite a bit of plants that aren’t in their database that you can send a request to have put in and although I lobe that you can send that request I have 10 or more plants that couldn’t be found which for 35 dollars at once not 3/month like I thought was worrisome. Still a wonderful app and I fully recommend.

Very annoyed by logistics of cancelling subscriptions. Edit: will kill your plants with a accurate watering suggestions lol It’s fine, helpful and good idea but basic functions take too long to load making the app unusable half the time. 10 minutes to upload a picture is ridiculous. There’s updates and things added but basic functions continue to be unusable Update: I subscribed to get some extra help with my plants and recently cancelled since I found it overwhelming with tasks and wanted to save money. But I am leaving for a month and the system I set up involved recoding the date of last watering for myself and my plant sitter. But you have to PAY TO SEE YOUR LAST WATERING if that watering was done with fertilizer. Really ridiculous that you can’t see the tasks you previously did, it’s not like I’m continuing to use that service without paying. Really frustrating that it forces you to pay to see that information when it’s not even a service I’ll be using since I’ll be gone. Probably won’t when I come back either, I don’t have to worry about dates on a spreadsheet being stuck behind a paywall 🙄

Helps keep your sanity. Not a perfect app, but a lot of the success I have with keeping 60+ plants is thanks to this. It keeps track of all of your past tasks and images, and adapts to the seasons. I don’t think the task reminders are always accurate, but as many details as you can add about your space, it’s almost impossible to accurately assess a plant’s needs without seeing it as a human. There are a few things I’d improve, like how you can’t snooze a progress update without it leaving a big blank in your photos, or how it restarts the fertilization cycle if I water a plant early. I also wish new species could be added quicker, but then again I do have a bad habit of finding weird, niche plants to add lol. But beyond that, as a college student working two jobs this has helped me immensely to keep track of tasks and monthly progress. I love the info it provides you, and I honestly really like the format. Definitely recommend it overall.

Great app, one feature suggestion. I love Planta! I use it for all my houseplants that I’ve started to care for and every single one of them has thrived so much since I started using it. I also absolutely love the premium tasks and I think they’re very worthwhile if you have a lot of different plants with different needs to take care of. One feature I think would be really cool is the option to update plant size when doing the monthly progress update. I don’t know about other planta users but since I started using the app, many of my plants have been growing really well, and sometimes I forget to update the size of the plant to make sure they’re getting proper care, especially for young plants that are growing a lot from month to month. Just something to think about

Great app for large collection. I have an indoor herb garden and several house plants. This app is super important for their care. It helps me a lot because before I was super bad at gardening. Now with my own research and Planta my collection is growing. I love that you can change the name of plants since most of mine have names. There are a couple of features I’d love to have though but they aren’t vital or ruin the experience without them: Filter for plants with low pollen for people with allergies Suggestions on what pots to use More plants in the data (some rare ones aren’t there) Addition of “medicinal” plants- so I don’t need another app for it lol I know they aren’t “plants” but I am looking into to growing heirloom mushrooms for cooking and since they act as plants it would be nice too add them as a category since they are becoming popular and I don’t think there’s an app for them

This app is incredible!. I never ever leave reviews but wow this app is worth the time!! Full proof for me with its notifications I never miss a beat with plant care, I’m a space cadet and have a history of killing many plants, but this has completely turned that around for me! It’s also made plant shopping incredibly easy and has stopped me in my tracts from bring home plants that are not suited to my house. I now have a house full of plants that fit the environment/lighting and my level of time, which means my plants and I are both happy. Once I become a little more financially stable I hope to get the subscription, so far my experience has just been with the free version, but it’s been incredible none the less. Round of applause to the creators! And thank you to the developers, it’s easy to use and I’ve had no glitchy issues!

Keeps my plants healthy!. I’ve been using this app for a while, and I am very pleased with the results. I have been known to kill plants, but my plants are actually doing great! I love that it creates a schedule based on specific details such as pot type, the time of year, and of course, the type of plant. That’s much better than watering all plants once a week regardless of species.😅 I do have a couple suggestions/questions. Sometimes my plant needs water before Planta tells me, and I don’t know how to check off that I watered it. I want to be able to adapt the water schedule so that I don’t overwater it. And, I think a feature such as selecting specific days to water your plant. I water my lucky bamboo on Mondays and Fridays every week, and that’s what works for my plant. Oh and, I think more features regarding propagations would be nice. Other than that, this app has helped me tremendously. Thank you!

More control over options. Hello! This app is amazing and worth the money for sure, I’ve been really happy with it. There are definitely some opportunities though when it comes to giving the user more control over more options. I like that I can affect watering and fertilizing schedules but I can’t affect things like cleaning schedules or add in water changes for my aquatic moss ball. Also, if there is a way to see a calendar view of all upcoming plant care and to be able to move care slots around on there that would be helpful. Only being able to bump out each plant two days can be frustrating if I know I’m going to be gone for a weekend and half the plants need help now and some later- why not enable us to mark that I watered a plant today before it has notified me to water it? Maybe I am missing the option and it already exists (in which case make it easier to find, that would be cool too) :) thank you for all that y’all do and have accomplished with this app

Unhelpful - do NOT pay for subscription. After reviewing care schedules and recommendations online & talking to plant experts about my plants, I’ve realized Plantas schedules, watering & care recommendations are completely wrong. They are also not individualized to the plants. For example, it recommends the same 3 types of watering for all of the plants but many of my plants don’t want to be saturated in water. The fertilizing recommendations differ from plant to plant but are far from accurate for most of my plants. The “plant doctor” and picture identification are also not helpful or individualized at all. I paid for the subscription when I was newer to caring for plants and was looking for some place to find reliable guidance but I’m very disappointed and wish I never paid for the subscription as it doesn’t offer any real extras. I do like using it for reminders, organization and tracking my plants progress but that is all available in the free version. Wish I could get a refund but they offer no help for this.

Picture swiping is gone. I love this app. One of my favorite things to do is after doing the monthly progress update, I go into each plant and swipe through the slideshow of pictures — it’s the easiest way to notice progress. However, with one of the recent updates, it now seems only the most recent image is there (and the images that aren’t mine — which I wish I could remove; that’s another suggestion). I can go into the individual progress updates, but the only way to see the whole image is to click in to it, and you can’t swipe, so you have to click in, click out, go to next one, click in. By the time you get to the next one, any visible changes are gone from your mind. PLEASE either allow all photos to go back in the main slideshow, or allow swiping between progress updates! Tracking progress via images is one of the main reasons I got this app.

Great app but it’s trying to drown my plants. I love how the app works and organizes all my plants. However upon following the watering schedule it’s suggesting it’s watering them way too frequently. I literally have had it tell me to water it one day then two days later it wants me to add liquid fertilizer. I lost several plants to overwatering following this schedule. It also doesn’t tell you how MUCH to water them. I mean sure if it gave it a 1/4 cup of water every time it might be ok. But I was always told the appropriate way to water plants is either from the bottom up-by sitting in a bowl of water and letting it drink what it needs, or to water from the top down until it’s runs out the bottom. Then let drain before returning to its decorative pot. Following this method the frequency of watering is way too often. I find myself skipping all together half the time as using the good ole finger test the plants are still moist in the top 1” of soil when it’s telling me to water them again. I primarily use the app to keep track of my plants at this point.

LOVE THIS APP. I have tried a few different apps to help me keep up with my plants and this one has been the best one so far. I like that the premium subscription is not too expensive and lasts a year. The app is so user friendly and looks cute throughout. They have made a lot of changes to the app to make everything more accurate for plant parents. I really appreciate all of the effort that developers have put into this app so far. They recently updated identifying plants that are sick and it is so much nicer now. I highly recommend this app over any other plant app because the developers really seem to care about a proper, functioning, plant care app. I can’t wait to see what they have planned for the future. Developers, you will have a loyal follower for life and I have suggested this app to many friends and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work because this is so helpful to so many people!

I love this app but things can be improved. I just started using this app since I’ve gotten into house plants. I love how detailed descriptions are and all plants come with care and maintenance information. I love that there’s a snooze button for watering schedules, and that they are tailored to the season, type of room, type of pot that your plant is in for the most accurate watering needs. However, the thing that’s bothered me the most is that you can’t log watering days. During the summer months There are some days where I have to water earlier than what the reminders tell me, so that means the reminders are out of sync, and snoozing doesn’t fix it either. If we can log our own watering days to sync in with the reminders, I would definitely enjoy this app more. Edit: Found out that you actually can log your own waterings! Changed my review to 5 stars

WHY, PLANTA?? SO MANY CLICKS!. I was SO happy with the last update that you guys FINALLY added the moisture-level section of the watering instructions to the FIRST click from the task page, WHY OH WHY did it go away already?? I HATE having to click the “more instructions” buttons EVERY time you want to check the specific moisture levels for a plants watering instructions. I know I’m supposed to pour water over a plant to water it, DUH, why is that the only information on the first page!? I have a moisture meter, and that’s what I use to determine whether its actually time to water, and it is becoming SO frustrating to click a plant that’s due, get your useless “pour water over it” page, and then have to go to “more instructions” to actually get the useful information about the plants ideal moisture level. This app is already relatively slow, please put it on the first page again!! It takes twice is long to go through all my plants waterings, it’s such a pain!! And it wouldn’t hurt to add the moisture level related directions to the fertilizer-due plants as well.

Solid app, but premium wasn’t worth it for me. I just finished a month of the premium version of the Planta app. To start — I’ve got about 30-40 plants. Mostly succulents, violets, orchids, and pothos. I’m no master gardener but I’m usually pretty good with plants, I know the basics. Using the Planta premium version, I spent WAY more time with my plants than before. Not sure that’s definitely a good thing. Most of my plants were in good shape when I started this so can’t track much progress there. I have three or four plants that aren’t great — one seems happier. One worse. The other two I had hoped the Dr Planta feature could help but it’s too generic to really do much. I’ll be better off taking those plants to a nursery for advice. Reminders in premium are for misting, progress reports (neither of which seem critical to me), fertilizing (which I’ve almost never done), and repotting. If you have absolutely no experience with plants, or very little, this might be worth it to you. Overall… the free app works fine for me. It’s well designed and easy to use, and isn’t intimidating. You can still do progress reports, and it reminds you to water based on sunlight, pot type, plant type, local weather. That may be a little better than my previous plan of “Thirsty Thursdays” but … it certainly will require more time.

Would like some new features on the app. Hello, i really do enjoy the apps design and use and how it calculates the amount of time between waterings based on various factors. Although, i am finding that it is telling me to water too early on almost all of my plants. Because of this i am needing to hit the snooze button multiple times for each plant before watering and it does not register with the next watering for that plant. So, if i hit snooze twice for a plant, waiting four days to water then it tells me to water again in two days what’s the point of the snooze option? I think there should be an option to manually adjust the suggested time between watering because circumstances vary drastically. Also, you should be able to adjust the amount of snooze time between waterings instead of only having a two day option. I really do like having the app as a reminder but if it’s not updated with a similar feature it seems to have lost its purpose.

GREAT APP FOR PLANT PARENTS. I’ve been using this app for over a year (with premium subscription) and it’s been extremely helpful for keeping track of all my plant baby needs! Not only does it keep a thorough inventory of all my plants (with site locations, progress photos/notes, and potting info), it provides needed reminders of watering, fertilizing, cleaning, and repotting. One note: - I noticed the app was recently updated with new watering care instructions. While some of the notes are helpful, I do miss the notes that said at what depth the soil should be dry for next watering. It now says that some plants need a perfect balance which doesn’t provide me with a measurable reference to know if the plant is due for some water. It’d be helpful to have the relative (1”, 2”, fully dry or still damp) commentary that makes it tangible to understand different plants watering needs.

It reminds me when to water my plants and. It reminds me when to water my plants and it has various info about the plants as well. I have all of my plants on the app and I upload pictures and I frequently upload new ones and it is very nice because I can see the growth of them as the time goes on from the old photos I upload! If I ever get confused of forgot how to treat a plant I have I can press the info tab on my plant and it has all the info. This really is a great app and when I get a plant or an interested in a plant I look it up on this app and make sure it is good for my house and it is applicable to my needs as well as the plants. It tells you how much light it needs and how frequently it needs to be reported. This app knows it all and is SO user friendly. I rarely leave reviews on apps, but I had to on this one because the amount of time I go into my phone to use this app is crazy!

4/2/22 update. Have been using this app for a year and a half and have sung its praises and told all my friends to use. But the update that happened automatically is annoying. Every time I complete a task it scrolls back to the top of the list. So I have to scroll back down to where I left off. Every task! And I have A LOT of plants. Usually an average of 80 tasks for per day. So having to scroll after every task is tedious and annoying. Please fix!! Update: it no long goes back to the top of the list, thank you for fixing. But now it no longer keeps my tasks organized by room. It’s all listed at random so I have to scroll through the list to find all the tasks in one room. Or else I’m going back and forth from room to room. Why all the updates? The old way that was the same for so long was working wonderful.

Pass on the premium subscription!. I was a complete plant novice when I downloaded this app 2 months ago. ZERO knowledge about plants. I immediately jumped into the premium subscription (for an entire year but that’s on me for not giving it a longer test run before going all in) In large part for the plant identification feature - but mainly for Dr Planta to help me diagnose problems and get “expert help”. The automated bot process to diagnose has been incorrect every time - completely understandable since bots can only do so much. But even the person that reached out to me through email was incorrect. Very kind and professional… but completely wrong. I knew because I found my answer searching online before they got back to me. I tried diagnosing 4 different plants with 4 different problems and wrong every time- then I gave up and here we are. One example - they told me that my plant likely had a bug infestation (but an “unidentified” pest). Even with the very clear pictures I submitted. They were aerial roots! (a completely healthy thing)… it’s hilarious to me in hindsight but at the time I had no clue and almost threw away my healthy new plant the first time I watered it. DO NOT following their watering schedule. Every new plant I had would be dead from excessive overwatering if I had. Probably good for a little plant journal or tracker but save your money, do a quick search on the kind of plant and set your own schedules for watering and fertilizing.

Helping or Hurting?. I downloaded this app to help me keep track of watering schedules for my 30+ houseplants. As time goes on I’m noticing more and more issues with the set watering schedule. More often than not I am battling pest problems that stem from over watering due to the schedule this app recommends. I understand some plants love water but too much of a good thing can be bad. I’ve spent way more money trying to fix problems that this app has caused. No, I do not have the Premium services because I don’t find them necessary. However, the suggested watering schedules for some plants should be looked at in detail. Also, there are quite a few houseplants I have where it’s not actually the plant I have. I just had to make due and note my personal plants differences. But there are quite a few gaps in the plant identification when you try to add a plant, maybe it just needs a database update. Either way, it’s an OK app but, I’m considering deleting just because I don’t want to kill my plants or have to go through anymore pest problems.

Great free features. I have been using the free version of Planta for a few months now as my plant collection has been growing (I now have 40 plants) and it’s really helped me feel much more confident in taking care of various types of plants! I plan to purchase the paid version soon. I’ve seen some great suggestions for app updates in the current reviews (a suggested update I would love to see is being able to change the plant type after adding if you realize you’ve marked it wrong). An update I didn’t see mentioned, but would also like to see in a future update is the option to merge plants. A couple of times I have repotted smaller plants together, but there’s no way to merge them in the app and then I have to choose which plant to delete, which means I lose the progress and photos from that plant. Thanks for creating such a great app. I’ve loved being able to catalog my plants and watch their progress as they grow!

Planta? More like Plant-YEAH 💕🌿. This plant has been a lifesaver! Even at its basic functions, the reminders to water and ability to track your plants status is incredible. I tend to ‘underwater’ and ‘lovingly-neglect’ my plants but want to expand my jungle and some plants don’t tolerate that well. This app is allowing me to do so and give extra care to my babies who need it. There are a couple things I would like to suggest: 1. Pot types: some of my plants are actually growing in water, not soil and it think it would be nice to incorporate data and suggestions on that. There is no way to make note of this in the app with the current selection of pot types. 2. The room lighting types: I have quite a few plants in my office space at work and the building area I am in does not have windows. I think it would be nice to have more lighting selections based off places outside the home. Yes with Premium you can use the light meter but even then it does not take artificial light into consideration. 3. Plant doctor: would there be a way to send a picture of the current status of your ‘sick’ plant in order to better help diagnose the issue? The standing features were very helpful in one case, but in another nothing the bot suggested applied to my plant.... These are just things I noticed today, I may have more to add but overall I am very impressed with the app and looking forward to expanding my jungle💕🌿

Worse than Most Apps. I want to love this app, because it truly is the best of its kind and I use it almost every day - but the level of finish is just not up to par for an iOS app in 2022. It crashes. Whenever I try to use the light meter, it crashes. I confoundingly cannot update the correct temperature of my sites. It advises repotting inexplicably frequently, and in ways that don’t match the care instructions in the plant’s profile. The recommended soil types are sometimes just wrong. There are so many typos - proofreading lands well beneath the difficulty level of debugging, and you would expect that an app of this caliber and with such a large user base would get this right, but it doesn’t. For features beyond watering alone, for the features that it provides at a premium cost, it’s just not worth it. If a developer is reading this, please improve the quality and reliability of the tools the users who pay for your app rely on so that they function in a way that matches the cost. Make it worth it.

Wow. Everything I think I need. Oh my goodness. I just got into plants like two weeks ago. I now have 12. But I really only have the internet and gut feelings to help me figure out how to care for these babies. When I saw this app on the app store and downloaded it, I felt it was literally speaking my language. It asked all the right questions, and informed me about the places in my house where my plants will and won't thrive. SO happy. Not only that, this watering algorithm is going to be so great for helping me develop intuition about watering my plants, and the detailed instructions on how to actually water the plants (and the different ways you can do so) were literally what I needed. I searched the internet to find that info and never got the details and depth that you provided with this app. Thank you thank you thank you. Additionally, the app is gorgeous and well designed. Great UX, coming from a product designer and software engineer. I only have one but, and that would be to shave down the delay time on the confirmation screen that appears when you add a plant successfully. That, or place an 'Ok' on the screen so I can exit on my own timing. Overall LOVE this app. I swear I was considering building this app myself before I found it today lol. Please continue making investing in it and making new and delightful features! If it proves truly helpful over time, I may even go premium in the future.

Amazing app!. I have been using the app for about a month. I paid for one month to unlock all of the features. TOTALLY worth it! I will definitely be purchasing a membership for a year! This app saved my aloe that I so desperately tried EVERYTHING to fix it prior to the Planta App. She is finally looking healthier and I anticipate seeing new growth soon 😊 A few suggestions for the developers of the app: -When asking if a plant has been repotted, it would be nice to be able to have an “in ground” option! -There should be an option to combine plants! I have a wildflower mix in one pot, as well as a hanging basket I bought that has 3 different flowers in it, but unfortunately, Planta has these flowers on different watering and fertilizing schedules, it’s getting confusing 😕 -If there is a way to log when it rains on the outdoor plants, so that Planta can adjust to the forecast changes, that would be really cool 😊 for example, it has rained where I’m at EVERY DAY for the past week and a half! So my outdoor plants have gotten more water, more frequently and won’t need water for a few days! -Lastly, some plants are SUPER dramatic and picky with what water you give them!! I’m still new at this plant thing, so the plants that really picky and only prefer distilled water, should be in the description of the plant or included in the care routine 😊

Love this app but have one suggestion. I got this app after getting a few plants. I’m relatively new to owning plants but have been quickly acquiring new ones thanks to the ease of this app. I had a plant that was dying and I figured I should invest in an app to help me care for them and I’m glad I chose Planta. Said plant is now thriving (I was over watering it:/ ) and it is super easy to use dr planta to find out the problem with your plants. The only thing I wish this app would include is how much water to give each plant based off of size and potting situation and window location. As someone who is new to plants I would like to avoid root rot as much as possible though I do have a couple non- drainage pots, and I have no idea the amount of water I should be pouring in on each watering date. A feature including an approximate measurement of water would be extremely helpful:)

Pretty Great - Worth Paying For. I like this app a lot - enough to pay for the annual membership even though I’m on a budget. I have about 80 houseplants & it makes it worthwhile for me - if you only have a few I don’t know that paying would be worth. There are a few things I’d like to see in the future for me to really love it: 1) ability for user to adjust temperature ranges - my balcony temps are just wrong, as they auto input at low range 33-61F but I live in USDA zone 8a (lows down to 10-15F!). 2) indicator for whether pot has drainage hole when you set what it’s planted in, as this seriously changes water need. 3) setting for rooting cuttings in water/medium. 4) difference in the “problem” effect on plant - it currently sets a nonstop alert when you indicate a pest like, say, mealybugs, so you have a nonstop “task” to remove mealybugs when in fact they need removed multiple times to ensure they’re gone and there will be days between those removals. I just hate the “unchecked” task when that’s the case!

Such a Great Plant Tracker!. I got this app today and I immediately fell in love. The premium is a very fair price for the amount of features this app offers, and I didn’t hesitate to get it! I’m very impressed and happy with the app. The main thing I wish existed is if we can add the date we acquired the plant, and be able to add past pictures and notes of the plant. I only got the app today, but there are plants that I’ve had for years! It would be amazing for the app to have the ability to reflect that with self-entered data, instead of every plant having the same “plant age”. Being able to include old pictures (and the date they were taken) would also be fantastic, so I could have all my data in one place. Other than that, I’m absolutely loving the app and look forward to using it more in the future!

Great app!!. I am very happy with this app!!! You can add each room, each plant with photo, it's condition. It gives you reminders for watering, fertilizing, even spritzing if you say the room is dry but the plant needs humidity! You can look up basic illnesses for your plant and use that to set extra reminders. If you get the premium for $3/month, you can use the plant identifier, which ID'd the two plants I tried accurately. The plant search is a bit limited, I think, in the number of filters you can set. But sending that suggestion was pretty easy. So maybe they will improve that. I tried to use Greg app, but it's not very flexible. Greg doesn't believe in fertilizing. Greg told me to water my aloe every eight days. I know it learns if you keep pausing it, but that's a very unusual watering regimen for an aloe. So I don't trust it.

Came in with no plant experience. I love this app for plant care. I literally had no luck with plants, just limped along in hopes that my few plants would actually survive. After I got the app, I have had great luck and so many complements on my plants! I was always afraid to purchase plants but now I have over 30! I would highly recommend downloading for daily plant care. Now for one negative comment and the only one I have is I am so glad I had the app on both my tablet and phone, because when I got a new phone I haven’t been able to see my plants on the app. I would have had no history of plant care and would have had to start all over downloading all of my plants into the app all over again. So if you have both phone and tablet download the app into both. For backup purposes. I love this app!

A wishlist... I’ve been using this app for 4 months. It’s been the best among other plant apps, but there’s one thing I found very inefficient. When you add a picture, you can’t change the date at first. You should save the picture first and then click again the picture to “edit” the date and details. I’m not diligent enough to add pictures every day, and this doubles my time to manage the plant pictures. Also, before the update, I could see the water task history with the pictures, and it was easy to figure out the watering schedule. It got somehow more difficult to check the care history. I read about the calendar view feature from one of the reviews, and I think that will be a great improvement. It needs some improvements, but overall, it’s a great app. I’ll be looking forward to more updates! Thank you!

Free version is good. Although you shouldn’t strictly follow a watering schedule, considering there are many different factors that play into how often you should water, it is still a great guideline for beginners, like myself. I like that it has the snooze button to hit if your plant doesn’t need water on its’ ‘watering day’. It also has graphs suggesting how many days in between waterings for each month of the year which is a good guideline to work around. If you put in the different lighting your house has in different rooms, the app will suggest plants that are good for that room. It also takes your level of plant experience and how much effort and time you want to put into them into consideration when recommending plants. Definitely enjoying the app and use it multiple times a week if not daily.
