Coda App Description & Overview

What is coda app? Enough of this sheet. It’s time for a new doc that brings together all your words, data, tools, and workflows—and lets you take them wherever you go.

Coda comes with a set of building blocksーlike pages for infinite depth, tables that talk to each other, and buttons that take action inside or outside your doc. And helps you custom-build a surface that works the way your team does:

- Connect your docs to the apps you use every day like Slack, Jira, and Google Calendar with Packs, our third-party ecosystem.
- Keep your info up-to-date with our powerful formula language that can reference objects like table rows or pages
- Support your doc’s growth—and the evolution of your team’s workflows—with pages, outlines, headers, and other organizational features.

And with updates to our mobile interface, collaboration can happen anywhere:

- Create, edit, and share a doc with just a few quick taps. Add pages as your ideas, content, or scenario grows.
- Make your voice heard with comment threads and reactions that live right alongside doc content.
- Find what you need quickly. Search docs by keywords, or browse docs in which you’ve been a collaborator. Within a doc, bookmark, hide, or bounce between any pages, and enjoy a full screen for reading any content.

Coda: A doc as powerful as an app.

Needs full desktop version on iPad Pro. Developers, please consider creating a way for the iPad Pro to access the full desktop version for editing. Many people like myself who have the latest iPad Pro no longer use their desktop computer because it does everything (except this) that we need! Eventually everything is going to be mobile in the tech world, so you might as well start creating a software that no longer requires desktop. I love Coda besides this one thing. I will definitely update my review to 5 stars once this has changed!

Getting so much better. Big thanks to the app team for making significant improvements to the app over the past few months. Fewer crashes, more functionality (like search w/ in a table), and faster loader times. Give the app another shot if you gave up on it like I did.

Coda uses your personal data. Coda’s terms of service is horrible. It specifically calls out that Coda will use, sell, and otherwise make use of your “personal information” for their business purposes, including any personal information that they pull out of the content you upload. I had hoped to use Coda as a versatile database. But some of the information I’d include is confidential. So Coda is a non-starter.

Can't View Version History/Edit History. We work between a lot of different people on each doc and sometimes things get deleted by accident. I am constantly on the move and hate that I can't view edit history/version history on mobile to see who made the error and when. The mobile functionality is otherwise fine, but it's definitely meant to be used on Desktop. I do find it better to use mobile than Excel/Sheets though.

I ❤️ Coda!. This product changed my work life! It’s allowed me to expand my business by using their automations that are built in and a couple that Zapier brings to the mix! At first I was at a standstill learning their formulas but between the community and a couple helpful Coda Employees they got me through it and now I’m all about data structures! Give this a shot! It’s better than Notion and unlike Notion, Coda won’t have issues with their domain.

Not there yet. Update: upon further investigation this app only works fully in the Chrome browser. Hopefully that will change in the future. I’ve updated my rating from 2 stars to 4. ———- There are a lot of good reviews here. I will offer a realistic one. This app simply does not work good. It is iPhone only - no iPad version. Additionally, there is no “+” button on the screen to add a table or any other elements, as the tutorials claim there to be. There is only a text format bar when you start typing. Can’t do much with that and basically makes this app useless. That “+” button simply isn’t there. Maybe that is a paid feature, but they’re website says everything is free. The website itself is also not easy to use on an iPad. Touching elements doesn’t always work and the site header disappears sometimes when I am typing. Rating this 2 stars because it looks nice, but shouldn’t even be that high. Even on the website there are screenshots of apps like the Project Tacker and there is no sidebar on the iPad like there is on the screenshots they show on the website.

It does what it needs to do. While you only have about 50% functionality from the web experience, it does what it needs to do for a mobile app. I just want to be able to view/search all my Docs and make a quick text edit if needed. Why would anyone want to build automation and table and buttons on a mobile phone?! That makes the app clunky (one of the things I hate about the Notion app). 5 stars. You can access all your docs with ease . No complaints.

Looks like it should work. Every time I try to edit a field, the app freezes up. When I try to go to the next entry in the table using the blue arrow keys that sometimes appear, the app freezes up. When I tried it on my iPad, I tried to add color to a font and could only affect the first word. I could not select multiple words and have the color apply to all of them. It is ok to view a table, just don’t expect to be able to edit it.

We Found A Problem. I’m new to Coda and really excited about its potential. But... mobile is everything to me. If the mobile app doesn’t work then I am not able to use this platform. At least half the time I try to open my document I get the “We Found a Problem” error, the a white screen, then I have to close the app altogether and hope this error doesn’t repeat. This makes Coda unusable to me. I hope it gets corrected because I would love to use this.

Mobile needs a lot of work. This a long way from being mobile ready, at this point it’s mostly user friendly for desktop. I don’t know if this is a high priority, but with the new iOS 13 I-pad I can’t see why any app developer would make an app that’s mainly for Desktop use. Mobile is becoming more and more the future. People just don’t want to stay constricted to a desktop.

Website is pretty nice, iPad app unusable.. The website is okay, the iPad app is laggy, several hundred to thousands of milliseconds before button feedback, totally confusing UI/UX, i.e. creating a new doc just dumps a default stub into your collection and you can go edit it if you want, weird… Totally useless for serious day to day work on iOS atm, stick with google docs, looking forward to seeing this improve though.

Many features not available on iOS. This app is great, and the concept is amazing. However, it would be great if you could design and build docs within the app and not just be stuck with templates.

Swing and a miss. I’ve used coda a bit on the desktop since it came out. Browser limitations and requiring a google account aside, it’s pretty powerful and they’ve been adding features at a good clip. So I was pretty interested to see what they did for a native mobile app for iOS.... this is really setup for phone use only —- such a wasted opportunity. I have an iPad Pro and a full featured Coda that takes advantage of the extra screen real estate would be really powerful. Until then, I can’t see using it on iOS

Google NO!. I downloaded this to see what it offers compared to a similar application I’ve been using. I didn’t get past square one. It requires logging in, which is not uncommon anymore. But your only choice is logging in with a Google account. I don’t do Google if I can avoid it. Buh bye.

My prayers are answered. When I first learned how to use spreadsheet formulas, I thought it was magic. I’d hack a spreadsheet or a google doc for almost everything in life and work (trip planning, project tracking, notes... the list goes on). Now I use Coda for everything AND I DON’T EVEN NEED TO HACK IT. I made a CRM for my apartment search when I moved to Seattle. I planned a trip to Iceland with my mom so we could share our itinerary, expenses, reservations, and emergency info all in one place. I moved my family recipe database from a huge Drive folder to a single Coda doc with cute icons for every section. On a project tracker with my team at work, I made my own view for my tasks that still updates the main tracker when I change a status. Now with the app, I can pull up my recipes on my phone, use buttons to make status updates when I’m not at my desk, or get reminders from my habit tracker doc as push notifications. 🙏🏼 All I can say is YAS.

I LOVE Coda, but the Mobile / iPad apps need work. I’m as big of a Coda fan as you can find but the fact that it runs so poorly on mobile and iPad makes it really hard to use for personal use when it comes to things like task lists, collaborative shopping lists, and anything really once it comes to using tables. When I’m on my desktop, the functionality is a breeze, but the entire workflow feels crippled via the apps. I still recommend Coda to anyone, but I’m disappointed in the Mobile experience.

Very limited editing. This app is honestly a big reason I turned my company away from coda and to notion. The app is essentially an interactive viewer of your coda pages. You can interact with certain things but page edits are limited to text. No blocks or databases. Notion’s app isn’t perfect but I have many of the apps functions on my iPhone which is powerful. It’s why I switched to it from other note apps for personal use, and why I have it at my company now. I’d imagine many of us would like editing functionality. I get there’s a use case for simple interactions for general users of the app, but editors are generally the ones who are part of the purchase process for apps like this and I’m not even sure if it’s meant for personal use. Pretty sure it’s limited unlike notion.

Very Buggy. I am a huge coda fan, but their mobile app drives me crazy. It is constantly crashing (or rather, going back to the docs Home Screen) with an error message that says “Coda encountered a problem.” This happens to me literally every time I use the mobile app. Coda developers, please spend less time on feature dev and more on bug fixing and improving the app stability!

Fun capabilities. Good app, especially if you are the kind of person that likes to optimize and track everything. People really giving one star reviews when they didn't even sign in? Smdh

App doesn’t allow easy editing or writing. Oh wow. I initially loved the browser experience. But this app is driving me crazy. Unable to actually type on it without it kicking me out of editing mode and forcing a refresh. Scared. Typically when fundamental capabilities don’t work at this stage in the game it may not change.

Bummer. I LOVE Coda. I think it is a super powerful app and was stoked to ditch some other similar apps but when I moved to my iPad Pro as my main computing device I discovered the iOS app is just not up to par with the desktop environment/experience. Unfortunately until the iOS experience catches up to speed I am going to migrate back to another similar app.

My rating of the app does not reflect my rating of the CODA service. Coda is amazing. The idea for the app to turn docs into “mini apps” is absolutely a fantastic design implementation. However, there are significant issues that disrupt user joy. 1.) slowness of the app to load 2.) it says it works offline, but because it works so slowly, I don’t trust that it works offline Slack’s app had this problem in the early days as well. The background app refresh often cause drafts to disappear and the app would reload causing you to lose your place. Incredibly frustrating because on mobile, you are constantly switching from one app to the next in order to get the information into its appropriate place. The only feature this coda app needs is to load instantly to the last place you Had the app open. Get rid of that stressful loading circle. Omg. If it works offline, then everything about this loading circle tells me that it doesn’t. I’ve never opened the app and seen the ring around less than 4 times. That means I’m literally counting to four. It’s 2020. Kill me. Developers— please find pride in getting your screen changes to happen in less than 200ms. Also the “going back to home” interaction. Takes a stressfully long amount of time to switch between coda docs. That being said — I love the service. You are legends. Keep it up!

Nice, but need something. I love this app as there is easy ways to plan and manage your life but, I think it would be amazing if you added a planning calendar for us to plan in the future. Other than that, everything is great

FINALLY THE APP VERSION. Ever since I got a taste of the Coda web app, I could not put it down and I almost ditched Google Word and Google Sheet, but they had the advantage of having mobile apps. Coda is the easiest, most beautiful, and smart doc-creating piece of technology I have ever used and quitely, I think everyone should at least try once in their life. It's probably the most innovative tool I've have come across that was created in the last couple of years. It's so much so, that now that THERE'S AN APP that I can't even think of any other app right now that has been more life-changing than this one. THANK YOU CODA GODS FOR BRINGING THIS BABY TO LIFE AND NOW TO MY PHONE.

Love Coda, but not the app. This is tough because I really love Coda. I’ve been using it daily for years (on my laptop) and have been a paid subscriber for a couple years now. So I’m definitely rooting for them! But the user experience of the iPhone app consistently gets in the way of it being great. I’ve built docs for other people to use several times (and in doing so have onboarded a ton of new users), but they always complain because they can’t get it to work properly on their phone when they need it - which is the whole point of having an app-like experience for the doc. For example, people want to use it to track their hours worked while in the field. But the Coda app won’t even load so they end up having to write everything down on paper and then put it into the Coda doc later at their computer. And I experience the same thing myself. This problem does not persist with either of the two primary competing apps. I’m not even complaining about the limited functionality of the iPhone app. It’s just that it simply won’t even open 90% of the time.

No images?. I’m pretty disappointed that I can’t add images to my docs from my mobile phone. I really like the desktop experience but I switch so much between my phone and desktop that I was wanting something more universal. Hopefully this feature will be added soon!

Amazing service, horrible app.. Save yourself the pain, and just don't. Just use a browser. Coda doesn't care about app users in any meaningful way, and the experience here is nightmarish. Every other time you open the app (even switching between apps), it crashes. The other times, you still have to sign in again. And again. And again. Load times are abysmal, docs are weird and sluggish, there is zero offline support and if your connection blips, your work is gone. I love coda. I'm on premium paid plans and I've run my life and business out of it for years. But their apps are absolutely worst-in-class, and it's clear they don't invest in them. Coda, send help. Give us a working app. Please. Pleeease.

Insanely bad load times. I am on full bars normal network service and am waiting 10 or more seconds to load the home page, and there is no caching so if i go back i wait again at min 10 seconds. Completely unusable for productive workflows with my team unless using it purely on desktop, which is not how I was hoping to be able to access my data and work cross dimensionally.

Not there yet. It is VERY slow to load/render on almost every screen (and I’m on a gigabit internet connection). It also crashes every time I try to edit a document. The web app works ok, but this mobile app is just unusable.

I love Coda but…. Coda is great and I use it on my laptop a ton! For personal and client work! I like it way better than Notion. However, the app on iPhone is almost not even usable. It hardly works and crashes all the time or gives me errors. I’d rather just not have it and have to go to my laptop. If they can make it better it would be super helpful!

Great idea, could be implemented better. I have just started using Coda and I love the idea. Is full functionality being developed for the iPad Pro? Right now it looks like creating a custom doc can only be done on a laptop or desktop computer. The I)ad Pro would be incredible to create docs on, much easier than a traditional computer and you could view it right on the device after making it! If this can be done, I would enjoy Coda a lot more.

??? Not sure why. Why do I need to sign in with my Google account? Why can’t I just make an account with Coda? Do you sync with my Google account to store the coda docs in my Google Drive? This app sounds wonderful, but with the information available here I’m not at all convinced you need me to sign in with my Google Account. Also, I saw on your website that you wanted feedback for a potential pricing structure. Whatever you do, please please please make it a one time purchase! I don’t care how small it is, I will never buy a subscription service because it’s like putting you ideas and work in storage and you have to keep paying to keep it.

One of the best productivity apps. We have used Coda to create some really awesome desktop/mobile apps. Everything from managing a personal training program, Kanban boards for personal projects, and planning for vacations! Highly recommended!

Coda “gets” it. I’ve been frustrated by weird, frankenstein’d doc-productivity-organization hybrids for a while but luckily, Coda gets it. Their foundation for organizing in tables and using that to drive really flexible yet powerful visuals (anybody else like a good gantt chart???) is amazing. Even as a word processor, Coda is easy enough to use but juiced up enough to make really nice text docs. With new features coming out the door so quickly, I’m always excited to see what’s next.

Magical!. It’s a real pleasure to be able to create and use my own templates using Coda. The instructional videos laid everything out beautifully and I enjoyed trying each new concept out step by step, this really made it stick. Coda makes doing complex things simple, I love it, and so far can’t imagine going back to using anything else. Thank you! 🙌🙌🙌

mobile app is not helpful at all. based on the reviews, I knew the app was lacking. I mostly use it on my desktop but time and time again… I still get so disappointed whenever I find myself needing to create or make new pages. I don’t even mind paying the 40/month but not having a working app feels a bit inexcusable… sigh.

The most flexible app out there. This app is fantastic! I’ve been using Coda for a while to do things like automating my emails and tracking my fitness goals because I’m not a huge fan of other apps on the market that let me do that. With this mobile app, I can update my doc in real time so I don’t forget when I get home! As more integrations come out, this could be the only app anyone ever needs

Great for startups and grown ups. This software has become the operative system for how we run our company since we were 5. Now we are 12 and one of the reasons why I’m so excited about Coda is it’s flexible design since it will be a great fit even when we are 1000. We are doing so much with Coda, from setting goals, to tracking user feedback and linking it to product features, to onboarding new clients. The last releases (Packs, Layouts, Automation, iPhone App) have put this product way ahead of all other tools I know of in this space.

Entrapment. I’ve used Coda since theire beta format more than two years ago. I was told when they started making payment plans that I could keep my docs and not have to pay. Now they are saying my docs are read only because of file size. That info was never offered in the past. They’re literally spreadsheets. Not happening.

Good features, performance issues. I like the functionality available on the mobile app, however it often freezes a lot and then a screen with “return to doc list” error appears

Great for real estate scheduling. Love using Coda for my real estate business! I handle my real estate showing schedule in a doc and I don’t have to bounce between different Google Sheets anymore.

No search?. I’m a long time coda user and am happily paying for its features. I love the desktop search capability, but for the life of me can’t find it on the app. Instead, I get a friendly “show 30 more” button. Not acceptable when you have lots of records as I do (that’s why I pay for the service). Please fix this!

The browser version is so much better. The limited functionality for iPad really deters me from using the app. I stick to making docs on my browser, which is an excellent experience for the most part. The app gives you an idea of what Coda can do, but it’s really limited in my opinion. I almost gave up on Coda altogether thinking it wasn’t that great til I tried the browser version.

Need to add the ability to create and edit docs on mobile. Coda is great, however, as someone who uses an iPad Pro for pretty much all of my computing needs (have a desktop just never at home to use it) it would be great if the developer would add the ability to create and edit docs through the app or even through Safari/Chrome for iPad.

Coda is Life. I’ve been a beta user of Coda for nearly a year now. It has elevated almost every aspect of my team’s operations. Every workflow, every process, every project my team owns is now running on Coda. I can’t say enough about the power that Coda puts at your fingertips. Being able to take a blank sheet and build a near fully functional application-like document in the span of a day is revolutionary. I have almost zero technical experience. With the things I’ve been able to build with Coda, I could have you fooled. Also, the team at Coda are extremely helpful. You really get the feeling that they care about you and that they want to solve problems right along with you. I’m so excited for the launch of Coda 1.0 today!

Email sign in option please. For goodness sake, please give an option for email sign up as well as Google. Like myself, I’m sure many people would like that option.

Simple Thing. The app is mostly great for being able to do basic things, but I wish there was a way to move docs to folders on mobile. It would make organization a bit easier for when I view it on desktop later.

Seamless online to mobile experience!. The Coda mobile application is a game changer! The Coda documents I use everyday on the web are now available to me as beautiful mobile apps on my phone. I never thought of myself as a mobile app developer...but Coda has let me create purpose-built apps without any programming!

Google signup ?? Instantly Deleted!. Coda is a very interesting and compelling app concept — so much that I immediately downloaded it. After installing it, I realized a Google account was required to use it — seriously?? Instant delete. It’s 2019. Everyone knows Google is a Faustian bargain. Any developer that forces Google on their customers is a developer that cannot be trusted. Too bad. Great concept + flawed ethics = product and company to avoid.

Love Coda. I love the interface. But compared to Notion, this app is not available offline, which I hate. Please make it available offline and add a dark mode. I understand that this is new and its only version 1.0 of the app, but I am quite sure offline mode is supposed to be standard on all notes app (I know this is a doc app, but it can be used either way).

Simple interface ideal for sharing. It’s a good app. It’s great for sharing what is virtually an app with clients or others who are casual users. Well done

Secure. Great notion alternative with 2FA + not complex to use.

Limited. I’m on an iPad Pro, and I can’t edit tabs, make a blank document, or apply filters to a table. It’s just frustrating when its such a powerful website, but it’s a crippled app, so I might as well just use notepad

Sign in with apple?. There's no option to sign in with apple Please fix this

Looks a whole lot better than it functions. Barely feels like a prototype. Slow, glitchy, not worth your time.

Google account only. We couldn’t test Coda at all, as it seems only Google accounts are supported. Those who are outside the Google ecosystem can’t even catch a glimpse of the app. Strange.

New version bricks the app. This new update completely bricks the app

For a unicorn company how can it be so bad?. For larger docs the app is literally unusable, I can’t even open documents without app crashing.

Superb. Excellent concept, very well executed. Great tool for organizers.

Now too restrictive. It started of amazingly well. Was a great app. Since they created their paid version it’s prohibitively restrictive. Migrated back to Airtable.

Too bad it’s a webview. Basically a webapp in a fake app. It’s very clunky

Clunky, very clunky. Great features but there are a lot of times I’ll have to re-login, or I’ve been working on a doc that loses my info, edits aren’t live so if a collaborator and I work on a document at the same time we can wipe out each other’s work. The apps are all really slow.

How about some QA?. Click New Doc button, see blank page. iOS 13. Nice job folks.

Bad user experience. slow open speed, and unexpected bug happened again and again

Cool idea but.... Needs to be able access content when offline. Cool idea though.

Great App. But almost slowly.

Never works. I LOVE Coda in a browser, but the app has never worked for me. Just shows me error messages and page not founds. Contacted support, but only suggested help articles on their support page that didn’t help. Definitely don’t rely on using Coda on the iPhone.

Wow. This app is so powerful. I’ve been able to replace $500 worth a month of software with this app!

Unusable for the most basic note taking. Soo much potential but released too soon. Can’t even add a text note with headers without running into glitchy insertion and text updating in multiple places. Crazy how this got released publicly. 🤞they will fix this quickly as I want to give those formulas a ride.

Not very User Friendly. The concept behind Coda is great and it works very well in Chrome but this app can’t deliver the on-the-go experience. It’s not very usable, with lagging interface and actions and it doesn’t react very well to touch commands. You are better off using specialized app to achieve desired goal.

No Support for iPad. I love the app but the developer should consider iPad version too. Although the app looks decent.

No good on iPhone. Can’t do anything except type lol, no ability to add databases or anything cool

Terrible. Don’t bother with this app, so many better productivity options at this point.

App fails to implement features on the site. I’ve never had such a love/hate relationship with a piece of software as I do with Coda. While Coda is a huge help in my personal and professional life, the there’s some frustration with the product at large and the iOS app is one of them. The app performs worse than just bookmarking the site on your phone. It frequently crashes when trying to interact with some tables or occasionally just surfing my docs. It only has the capacity to view and operate your docs, but not to build or edit them. There is a scenario where coda could outright replace Gmail, but the gmail pack has a cap on auto refresh messages to once every 60 minutes. It’d be really cool to have clients interact on their projects with you, but they’d have to sign up with a Coda account instead of using links. You could replace excel/google sheets, but would really need a desktop app to compete with excel. It’s be awesome to be able to send and receive messages from email, twilio, livechat, and build my own multichannel hub atop my CRM and project manager (effectively replacing a half-dozen apps), and while I could attempt this with it’s make.com or zapier integrations what stops me is knowing that the mobile app is not dependable and I would never be able to get my team to use it.

Instant Delete. Google Sign in, no way!

Will be useful one day. This will be a great organization & collaboration tool once the web interface works with Safari or Firefox — At the moment it only works with Chrome. Too bad!

Can’t even sign in. It keeps asking me to update to the latest version of chrome despite the fact I got the latest version

Chrome required for pc use. I worked with the app a little on my phone, and it seemed pretty good. The major drawback was that it only works with chrome on your pc. I only use Firefox, so this would be a major hassle to just install chrome for this one app.

Innovative. This app is unlike others in defining what documents are for business owners. However currently the app is too slow and bulky. I will visit later time and try again.

Only lets you sign in with google. Looks like it might be a nice app, as far as the login screen goes. Allow me to sign up with an email address and I’ll give it another try.

Weak app design (but good on desktop). Coda is an amazing product that has made making spreadsheets and documents a JOY. I've been using Coda since 2017 and have loved seeing all of the new features and updates. They're really pushing a great product and bringing in some much needed innovation to document building. The app however has struggled since it's release. The experience is just plain bad, if not terrible. On desktop/Chrome it's a fantastic experience. It's very easy to create or edit different pages (or "sections" as coda calls it), edit and view tables, and navigate across all of your data in a document. It really is fun in my opinion. In the app, everything is a pain. I'm glad I can view my documents but editing it or adding new content is frustrating. The only format that doesn't quite break is a plain paragraph of text. Tables are not very elegant to view (and tables are Coda's main feature!). You have to scroll horizontally to read columns and cannot zoom in and out (seems like a basic feature that should be included). I would find value in being able to control the scale of the content I'm viewing, versus being stuck at one scale and can see only a few rows and columns at a time (I'm used to Google sheets in that way). This is an issue with more complex tables with more data. The entire experience is very awkward and clunky. There's nothing elegant about it, where desktop shines with almost every aspect of creating and editing. Other big pain points-- 1) no way to reorder rows of content. cannot drag and drop like on desktop. 2) no swipe actions or long press functionality for anything in table view (seems like an inherent app-like feature that should be included) 3) confusing that some tables show up as a list (where there is an add row below/above option if you swipe) but then some show up as tables (and you can't change between them) 4) editing a row of content forces you into a new page. Would rather stay on the same page like on desktop or any other spreadsheet experience unless I specifically say that I want to open the deeper view. 5) editing a row and then going back to your table resets your view back to the top of the page. Annoying and a pain when you have scrolled to the middle or bottom of a table (or tables) and then lose your place. Overall the app experience is awful so I use coda only on desktop. I was initially excited when this came out but every time I use it I get more and more frustrated with Coda. For such a pristine desktop design, this app really does the opposite and goes backwards in terms of innovative and intuitive design. I love the idea of "a doc as powerful as an app" but this app just isn't there yet.

Requires access to your Google account. You need to provide a way to use your app without requiring access to my google account

It WAS great.... ...but now all it does is crash and log me out.

Coda spoils you. TL;DR: If Notion.so + Airtable had a baby. Coda’s features are so flexible you can almost create whatever productivity app that you want. Now, when a different app can’t do ”x,” I can’t understand why not anymore. It’s freakin amazing, but it’s a little hard to get started. I’m a newbie and can’t code, yet 😅, so utilizing all of Coda’s features has been a little hard. They designed it so well, that I almost get it. HOWEVER, even with my basic usage, I can’t use another app because CODA IS SO FLEXIBLE. It’s not a ready-made app, but I realized Coda’s flexibility trumps the workarounds I’d create otherwise. Feb 2019. Lots of features aren’t ready yet, like mobile, but I SWEAR its worth it.. or it will be.

MES3244. Obsessed with this app!

It crashes all the time.. I can’t even use the app because it always just goes back to the doc list. My company chose coda, I would never. I can’t even do work from a mobile device that involves coda because of the poor app.

Great to have Coda app. Brings the ease of Coda to my mobile devices.

Invaluable platform. Love the app and the platform but *please* support dark mode.

Makes you sign in with Google.....rubbish. I don’t want to sign in with Google. There was no mention this was a Google app. Why can’t I just use it? Rubbish.

Most essential tool for Busuness. I have my key dynamic business docs on Coda, but mobile use was a major limitation. Not anymore! Thanks to the TEAM!

I’m glad it’s here. But it still needs a lot of work!

Disappointing. Trying to write a document on my iPad is a real pain. Frustrating, it feels more like time waste than productivity.

Where is iPad version. Would be 5 stars...but where is the iPad version

very suspicious about Google integration. Why does this app want my Google account?

A true game changer. This is a game changer where writing meets database meets app generator - a unique and incredibly well executed concept.

Can’t edit text fields!. Come on team! Let me know if you need help reproducing.

Coda breaks my heart!. I don't get it, how come big company like Coda cant get talented developers and finally in many years make great mobile app. This is unusable. —Please!!!

Needs dark mode. This seems trivial, but I have sensory issues, and the bright orange theme isn’t good for me, as it’s too bright and causes headaches. If there were the option to choose the color, or even just a dark theme, then it would be more accessible. As it is, I can’t use this app yet. 😞

Unstable. Simply unstable. Keeps crashing while trying to edit document. I will need to explore Notion

Love Coda but this app needs a major update. This feels more like a web view app to me. It actually works better in the Chrome browser. The app doesn’t seem to cache anything and it makes you login every time you open it. Please make this more like the notion.io app, a truly native experience with the ability to easily add todos (see how notion does it). With notion you can easily add to do lists, check them off, and drag and drop. Coda is a great idea but it needs to work like a native app to be a great product.

Can’t Log in with Google. Every time I attempt to login, I get redirected to a page where it tells me I need to enable cookies. So, I go to safari setting and attempt to do this. I enable cookies and allow cross-site tracking. Still no dice. The web version is great, this is very disappointing.

Total disappointment. I love Coda in the browser, but this app is totally unusable. It crashes constantly; I finally had to just give up and uninstall it.

Latest update is completely broken. Trying to modify a date field crashes the app to the document chooser. The keyboard is entirely non-responsive when trying to edit a text or number field. The app is currently unusable.

IFTT. Finally ... this app is amazing . Only thing I’d want is with IFTT

Glitchy. I have to open and shut the app four to five times to access my document every single time. Not worth it.

Serendipitous. More or less useless on an iPad. No landscape view. Navigation needs a lot to be desired.

Must have google account to use. Instant delete.. It would be nice to have a regular email login/pass to use this app. I deleted my google account 8 years ago and there’s no way I’m creating one just to try this app out.

The icon reminds me of cantaloupe. Cantaloupe is terrible! Also, the icon could be sharper. The app/site hasn’t clicked yet, so I’m waiting for that to happen. I don’t work in a team, though.

NEEDS an update - but I love Coda on web!. I LOVE Coda but the iPhone app is unusable. It crashes almost every page I open. We are sticking with Coda for now but praying they update this iPhone app ASAP so we can have a mobile option. THANK YOU CODA TEAM!

Deleted 1 minute after loading it. Before I can use this app, the developers want me to login with a Google account and their license agreement says I have to allow them to ‘share’ information about me. Sc**w U!

Please wait! Coda app comments loading...
