Ability to edit time cards needed!. I love using Square and Payroll has been a curve but getting better. This app however is completely useless without the ability to edit time cards. Please please please add in the next update. I’d love to be able to work on payroll without having to break out my laptop.

Square is amazing. With the use of the Square app I just started a small business and square has made my life so much easier when I pay myself it automatically pays taxes does all the paperwork for my employees this app is amazing oh I would recommend it to anyone looking for a card processing service square is the best 2022

App won’t open every few weeks. This app is OK but the week after payroll you can’t see the current week of clock in and clock outs, you have to wait until the second week to see the first weeks payroll or go online to the desktop site. Every few weeks the app will not open and you have to delete it and reinstall it

App is a sham!. This App does not work. It does not let me login, as I can only do so from a web browser on a laptop. The app gives me multiple security options like selecting pictures of a topic but never lets me login. I have no problem on a computer though. However, my client has not been able to pay me either. So it’s very disappointing l around and as of today I’d do not recommend this product/service as an option.

Not delivering what they promised at all!. They promised it would all be automatic and easy. Everything went smoothly for one month and then I started receiving emails that it wasn’t working and that my state taxes would have to be refunded back to the state and that I would have to figure out how to do it on my own. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! Now I have more headache than ever before. Now not only do I have to find a new company to handle this, I have to fix all of your mistakes! So upset and disappointed! And where is my refund ?? Since you didn’t provide the service you promised.

Review. I have it 2 stars because square payroll is making something as simple as switching accounts from one square payroll to another square payroll extremely complicated! I now need to re-submit payroll and pay double for taxes and then request a refund! That’s ridiculous! All the info should be able to transfer from one account to another. There is no reason for square to make it this complex.

Doesn’t work. After recently adding this app to help me do payroll for my staff, it’s never worked or loaded for me. I would attempt to open the app and it’ll ask me to put in my pin, and then I get a white screen with a loading sign. Doesn’t work and is super frustrating and annoying.

Disappointing (Could be amazing, falls short in one key area). I’m not one to give 1 star reviews. This app need some serious love from developers to make it usable. I can’t even press on the buttons. I have to offset pressing by like 1” and it’s slow and clunky. Beautiful interface, beautiful concept. Please make this work the way it should. Make sure you test on ALL iPhone models. Mine is iPhone XS not sure if it’s a screen resolution or size thing throwing off the capacitive touch mapping. Right now this is UNUSABLE. Also the web app seems to fail login from safari no matter what even when I use the correct password. This is infuriating.

Wonderful, so far!. This is my third week sending out paychecks via Square Payroll and I could be happier! It takes minutes to complete and “as easy as 1-2-3”! Seriously made my life so much easier as a business owner!!!

Finally!!. And easier of processing payroll through Square! I almost left to a competitor but I’m glad that Square got the app out now. Life just got easier!

Love payroll app!!. I had started doing payroll on my phone, but at 1st I was using the website on non-mobile and couldn’t see everything. Then I just did payroll on the new payroll app and it was so easy. I love the payroll app. Square is totally mobile with all I need to do now. Thanks square for always being awesome and growing to fit the needs of my business! 8 years with square and I’ve never had to call for help. Everything square makes is just so easy to operate!

Simple but would like recurring time cards. Love the ap. Would like to be able to upload a recurring payment schedule though for employees that work the same hours weekly without having to manually have them enter.

Easy to pay myself. I am a single person LLC filing as an S Corp and this is an easy way to pay myself and deal with the taxes.

So easy to use!. Love using Square Payroll! Affordable, intuitive, easy government reporting that’s done for you, as well as payments to government agencies and employees by direct deposit, quick answers to questions as needed. Could not be happier with my decision to use this as my small company payroll option!

Can’t view imported time cards. I import timecards automatically from When I Work. When I try to view time cards in the app I can only see timecards from the previous pay period. It would be nice if I could view time cards from the current pay period as they are imported each day.

What’s the point of downloading an app if it sends you to use it on safari?. This is ridiculous. So I download this app expecting to use it AS AN APP. It tells me to login, I do, then it sends me to the normal darkish black/screen with my email and the green icon for pay stubs. I click on ANYTHING ON THAT SCREEN, be it my email, my pay stubs, my settings, and what it does is just SEND ME to the actual square payroll site on safari. To redo everything again. This is such a disappointment. If you make an app, make sure it actually works.

Square payroll for iPad. I’m loving the app the easy use but the thing I don’t like is when you use a bigger screen it’s till opens up phone size as if it dose not know it’s not being used on a phone I reallllly hate that if any bug needs to be fixed it’s definitely that or come out with a version for iPad 😩😩

App does not load. When the app worked, it was great on my iPhone but nonfunctional on an iPad. On the iPad, it worked as if I was on the website and there were issues with the format fitting the screen. For the last two weeks, square payroll just has a continuous spinning circle on login to the app. I have had to use the website instead. Kind of defeats the purpose of the app if it doesn’t load.

Doesn’t work. I have an IPhone XR and cannot get the app to progress. It’s installed and updated but when I try to log in, I get a solid green screen with the payroll logo and no option to enter my user name or password. I thought it might be a network speed issue but after five minutes, still nothing but the logo. I can’t rate the rest of the app because I have yet to experience it.

Huge opportunity, terrible execution and unusable app.. I joined square payroll to make it simpler and easier to run my business, as promised. But the app doesn’t work with FaceID, doesn’t function on iPhone screen, can’t pay my team because the app freezes and doesn’t respond. Have tried to reinstall and nothing has resolved the issue. Square is exploiting small businesses trying to do payroll on mobile device. This is something that CAN be fixed and simply hasn’t been addressed.

Easy as the computer version. Just used for the first time. Everything went smoothly.

What happened?. This app used to work flawlessly for me. Now I cannot get through the login screen. It just spins and spins. This is a major issue as a small business in need to have accessibility via my phone. Very disappointed!

Broken. It’s a great app when it wants to work! It will work fine for about 2 weeks then I’ll get stuck on a loading screen that will just spin forever. Force close the app, restart the phone, check for updates, none of that seems to work. The only workaround I’ve found is to uninstall and reinstall the app.

Horrible. At the beginning it was fine let me check my paystub. But now they added the stupid update that won’t even let me log into my account. I can’t check how much money I made this month nor can I look at my hours or paystub‘s. It’s glitched out and it won’t let me press the login button. Five star app gone to one star up and just one update.

Good but.... This is good, but you need FaceID as it’s getting very annoying having to renter my login info everyday. Also you need to add ability for employees to see their payroll or make a separate app for employees to see their pay stubs in an app, not just by using the online version.

Saves me when no pc. When I’m far from my pc I can check hours here and pay my team.

Love Square Payroll. I’m a small company and was nervous to get set up for my first contractor/employee. Square has made it so easy! I have been recommending square to several other businesses too.

Needs improvement. This app would be great, but it’s not designed for smart phone use. When you go to pay your employees, it doesn’t let you enter the amount due to all the information not fitting on the screen. It doesn’t turn or expand when you rotate your phone, so this app is basically useless. I have to sit down and physically log in from my computer to do payroll

Worst software since Windows ME. Can’t even get started- they are saying my EIN is wrong, the exact one I use that works with everything else. I’ve re-put it in 8 times. Each time I have to re-verify account. So I’ve set up once plus 8 de-submits on EIN, plus 8 verifies, and one review. Tried support twice, got an unhelpful bot once and a “we will get back to you” on second attempt. I may not have time for actual business left when I finish this!!! Now I have to start all over with another company

Double log in. I’m not sure the point of the app when all it does is take you to a website to login there after you have already logged in on the app. I wish the app actually had the information and didn’t just send you to the website.

Best app ever. This app is way faster to use on your phone rather than going to the website on a computer. 10/10 recommend.

I want to love it but I don’t. The idea of an app is to make life easier. At the touch of a button you have what you need. Except this app is just a headache. When my employees login at 11, my app says they clocked in at 8. They clock out and the app doesn’t clock them out until hours later. I have contacted support and was simply told we must be in different time zones when we are standing side by side and all devices are on the same time and internet connection. Then you can’t see time cards until the previous week pays out, so when they tell me their timecard is messed up (which they can’t fix themselves) I have to wait until the end of the week to fix it because I can’t access it before then. When I finally see the time cards and they’re completely wrong because of the time difference, it’s a disaster. This app is painful to use and I am not at all happy with the experience of having payroll employees.

Pretty useless for employees. I try to access my information regarding paystubs, or really anything, and after signing in on the app, it takes you from the app to the website in your browser. If I wanted to do my business in the browser, I would. Also, when you get to redirect, you have to sign in again. There is zero use for this app for me. I just have to go online to do it. This is the opposite of convenient. 0/10 would recommend.

Better Than the Website. It’s better and easier than using the website on your phone. There still needs to be some bugs worked out though. Selecting a specific employee requires closing the keyboard to access the drop-down menu. Minor stuff.

SCAMMERS BE CAREFUL!!!. I HAVE EMAILED THEM 5 TIMES AND NO RESPONSE THEY TOOK $800 FOR PAYROLL AND EMPLOYEES NEVER GOT THE CHECKS! I ran payroll with them and my employees NEVER got their checks! It’s been over 3 weeks now and still no replies, they took over $800 from my account and it’s gone. I can’t call because there is no phone number, they’re ignoring my emails and I can’t get a hold of them. They randomly closed my account and now I don’t know what to do. I had to pay out of pocket a second time for my employees! SCAMMERS! WATCH OUT!

Never opens-does not work, please fix!. As an on the go employer, this app is crucial. I have not been able to use this application for over a month now because it just stays stuck loading. I’ve tried on 3 different devices, done software updates, and uninstalled/re-I stalled application. Still never works. This is extremely frustrating, and I really hope it gets resolved immediately.

Square Payroll is Great. Having come from a 30-year background in payroll management for a large company I was dreading the prospect of going through the process again for 11 part-time employees. No worries: since my square time card system and payroll are linked, payroll , from managing time cards , direct deposit , tax payments and reporting , deductions and all that goes along with payroll has been perfect. In the payroll world, that’s a big ask. The added benefit of being able to add employees and now adjust time cards on the app is a great addition .

Makes Payroll a breeze!. Square payroll makes having employees a breeze. The app and website and easy to use and navigate and it takes the guesswork out of unemployment and payroll deductions.

Needs better functionality!. I love using Square Payroll on a desktop, but I need more from this app than what it can currently do. My payroll week ends on Monday. It’s Wednesday, and I can only see Timecards from Monday and back. Where is Tuesday and Wednesday? I can’t edit a time card punch for either day, which is super frustrating. I also can’t run payroll from my phone because we tip out on payroll and I can’t add those in on my phone. I’ve had to run payroll late a few times because I wasn’t sitting in front of a PC. I tried to go through Safari on my phone and the screen won’t move over to the Paycheck Tips area, so again, that doesn’t work either. Please make these items available on the app!!

Unable to see track current weeks time sheet. App crashes and fails to load. Why can’t we see the current weeks timesheet? It would be a huge benefit to know when employees are approaching overtime. App consistently crashes and fails to load resulting in me uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times

Best thing ever. Very easy to use, I now can pay my employees via check and I’m so glad square has helped me figure this out! They pay my employees on time and I haven’t had an issue yet.

Not good for running payroll. I love Square payroll, but this app is awful. Whenever I try to run payroll and I don’t have access to a computer I struggle with using this app. The screen is really small and it cuts off the half of the page that shows wages and all the important stuff. If I need to input an amount for a paycheck for employees not paid hourly, I can’t even get to that section. Overall the app is ok for other features, but running payroll is a nightmare!

WOW Horrible APP I expected more from Square .. I signed up for this App to do simple Contractor payrol . and wow i have never seen a more confusing app than this . I mean come on Square i had faith in you before this . All i wanted to do was pay a contractor and it is asking me for “Hours “ and there is NO way to bypass that . Iam paying a truck driver and He “DOES NOT “ work hourly . No way to bypass that . My second problem was I am trying to CANCEL and when i got to payrol setting and scrol down as stated in ur support page THERE IS NO OPTION TO CANCEL. A big company as square can’t figure out a simple Payroll APP? 🤷‍♂️... I had more faith in your company before this .

Please, please, please allow employers to see time cards on the current payroll cycle. No idea why you are not able to see and edit time cards on the current payroll cycle, only historical. Very limiting in that you cannot clock people in / out if needed, can’t see how many hours they have worked the current week, etc. This functionality is needed for basic operational work!

Terrible customer service. I am new to this program and switched to streamline my payroll. Unfortunately I needed a little bit of help however the call center is a hot mess. They didn’t understand my question, transferred me 4 times saying they weren’t the right department even though I was assured they would transferred me directly to the correct department and ultimately got hung up on. Still haven’t resolved my issue.

Not Intuitive At All. The things this app claims it can do versus how it actually does them is extremely far apart. The app is not intuitive at all and most functions haven’t worked for me. Simply manually adding my employees hours doesn’t work from the app. Everything seems disconnected. Even the menu has benefits and HR and all this other stuff listed way before the actual payroll features which is the main reason most of us get this app. Highly disappointing. Will be finding a different service if things don’t get figured out.

Clear Cut Cincinnati. I use square payroll to pay my contractors by the job and square is very flexible with any form of payment whether you pay hourly, commissions or by the job!

Glitchy, frustrating and disappointing. The part that is most disappointing is that this app has many of the functions I need and want in a payroll app. However, when you input data for team members, the app freezes. Additionally, I have a lot of part time hires (as an employer) and square sends my new hires an email to sign up. Every single one of my new hires reports some kind of problem signing up, from glitchy freezing and subpar processing of personal data. I’ve gotten to the point of telling all my new hires not to use the mobile app when submitting data for payroll and direct them to use the desktop version. However, when they use the desktop version they constantly encounter the “uh-oh, something went wrong.” I don’t have time to hold each of my new hires’ hands and walk them through troubleshooting signing up. I need something that works consistently and across the board for my team. I’ve been super disappointing and am now considering changing my payroll service (which is a nightmare in itself). Square better fix these issues pronto or you’re going to lose my business.

App didn’t work. Had to reinstall the app. Will see if it works now. App needs many refinements for doing a salary based payroll. I do like square.

Love Square Payroll. I was a Square Payroll user on my pc previously and was begging for a mobile app to compliment the other mobile Sq apps and they it and it’s great. I love it!

Reinstall. I like the app when it works but I have had to delete and reinstall constantly.

Would be great… if it loaded. The app UI is great and convenient to check on payroll or update an employees hours if they forgot to clock in or out. However, once I log in the app never loads. It just shows a loading sign with a white background. If I delete the app and reinstall it, then it seems to work until I try to use it a different day and then the same problem occurs. Definitely worthy of 5 stars once this bug gets fixed. Using on an iPhone 13 Pro iOS 16.4.1

App doesn’t ever work. 90% of the time I attempt to use the app it doesn’t even work. Just shows a blank white screen. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

SUPER BUGGY AND UNRESPONSIVE. I love square and their products but this application is so buggy and unresponsive. I try to do our company’s payroll on the go but the app doesn’t respond, it’s super slow, and super laggy. I don’t know what’s going on but square needs to fix these and update this terrible bugs!

Great. Easy, convenient, and covers everything g I need. Reasonably priced and great product!

Doesn’t load. This App only loads completely 5% off the time and even those times it shuts down randomly. It just sits there and spins most the time.

Non-functional. I am unable to pay contractors, one of the basic functions of the app. I can’t choose a pay period and I can’t add anything to hours or funds to pay. At this point the app is beyond pointless and shouldn’t have been release unless tested. But...I look forward to this being fixed and I will edit this review.

Not that useful for my situation. My boss started using square to pay us, and when I log into the app and click paystub, all it does is open the site and make me log in again. Verifying my identity twice to see my pay is about all this app does for me.

Frozen from the start. The app and reviews appear enticing—however, when a user is unable to get beyond the ‘create an account’ page, one is likely to get cold feet and just bail. Developer: not sure if it is the newer iPhone 14 technology, but I experienced a no-go on signing up with 3 separate attempts.

Disappointing. Sometimes it works, most of the time it just doesn’t. When trying to input payroll, once I hit save it clears everything I just did. A lot of the time the buttons seem to be off, or just not working. This app could be great. For now it’s more work than it’s worth.

Not loading. It won’t let me log in to put in my bank information to get paid

Glitches every Sunday. Every Sunday it glitches and I have to go on a computer to run payroll. It won’t get past the login screen. It’s been that way for months

I hope the developers see this. I am a employee and my boss wants me to use this to fill out my W-4 and for direct deposit, but everytime I try and sign in it send me to my sign in preferences and security on my browser. I don’t know what to do and I won’t get paid till i have my W-4 filled out

Payroll, Great. App, Unusable.. I love square payroll but the app isn’t even usable. I can’t enter any numbers for payroll so I still have to log on to the desktop website regardless. I’m not sure how they promote an app that doesn’t even work.

Incomplete. This app won’t let me edit time cards. Which is quite annoying.

They should have zero stars. They are scamming people and once you hit submit to pay your team they take your money then deactivate your account and say they are holding your money for 90 days. Don’t do it you will lose money and your employees don’t get paid.

Square is the worst. Worst most complicated app ever still cannot get in to get paid by my employer. Would never recommend this , one month later I still cannot get in!

Payroll on the go. Finally here. Super easy way to manage our payroll and contractors when out or traveling. Love the mobility of $SQ!

Don’t Trust This App. Using this service as a en employee is risky. By just going to personal settings after opening the app, anyone can find you social security number and all the credentials one would need to steal your identity. Square should hide this like all other mobile platforms do. This company doesn’t care about you or protecting your data.

Completely Stopped Working. This has worked well for months, but now it’s stuck in a perpetual update loop with no update. I attempt to update it, login and it takes me back to an update window. Please fix the bug because it isn’t working at all currently. Thanks

App freezes. Right after processing payroll, the app prompted me to rate it and then it froze.

No longer working for iPhone 14Pro. Doesn’t work for iPhone 14 Pro anymore. Circle just spins… 😒

Doesn’t work. I don’t understand how this is an app. You can’t actually use it, it freezes and doesn’t let you put in the info at all. Better off just using the website. Big disappointment. And I’m running an iPhone 11 that’s up to date, no reason or shouldn’t work

Bugs. This update has still not fixed the problem, I can’t leave the app to look at any of my numbers and then come back to it without it wiping all of my progress.

Not made for iPad. Considering all of the beautiful UIs offered throughout the Square products, I was surprised to find out the Payroll app via iPad is like the regular website but worse because it isn’t the full screen.

Sq payroll is great. This app is a joke. Hasn’t been updated in over a year. Not formatted correctly for mobile. Can’t really do much. I just use safari to login.
