Toast Takeout & Delivery Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Cant change your account email or phone apparently. Choose your email and phone number carefully you can’t change. I set up via a merchant a while back now I want to update my email address, supports totally user unfriendly solution: Right now we aren't able to update an email address on an account. We do have a few options though. If you'd like to have a new account with that other email address I would start a new account. You'll just need access to a secondary phone number in order to do so. If you don't have a secondary phone number, I'd suggest checking out a service like Google Voice which is able to create a phone number for free and forward the contacts to another cell number.

Good for takeout. On fathers day I ordered food from my favorite local Thai restaurant. The app told me my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant for the pickup time and was told my order would be ready in additional 30 minutes, I canceled my order by talking to the manager. They were very busy with other other takeout orders from bite squad, Uber eats and grub hub. It would be nice to be informed on the app when the food prep will take longer than normal. I guess I will now have order from the app and call the restaurant before leaving to pickup my order.

Repeat order — defaulted to pickup instead of delivery. I used the “order again” button for one of my usual orders. I always use the delivery option. I optimistically placed the order too quickly to realize that it was a pickup order by default. My food sat at the restaurant for 40 mins before I thought to look at the order details. Very confused as to why it wouldn’t have set it to delivery since that’s what I used on the previous order that was copied. Be sure to check so you don’t make the same dumb mistake!!

Hands down the BEST. This is the absolute best to-go experience we’ve had since SIP started. Chef’s ability to translate her dishes into takeaway form obviously was a tremendous work of love and skill. Quality is spot on, flavors are amazing and bright, and don’t get me started on the cocktails. We order from Top Hatters at least once a week and I even did a large group order for our social bubble one special evening. Favorites are the entire cocktail menu, spring salad, vermicelli bowls, the mochi sesame balls (which are exactly like my grandmother’s “lek doi”!), and the pepita little gem salad. 💜

Love the app, but minor frustration…. In concept, app is awesome, but it will not save my cards for future purchases so I have to enter my card info every time. I check the box to save payment info, but it never does. In the settings, there is a place to manage payment cards, but there isn’t a way to manually add any (it says “use a card on your first purchase to add one”…I’ve made over 10 purchases now!). Thus, I’m stuck in a cycle of manually entering card info every time I dine out. Wish this could be fixed in a future release!

No hidden fees. This is the only delivery app that doesn't add $1-$5 to every menu item, then charge an additional service fee, delivery fee, tax, and tip. I've compared several options on the app to online prices from the restaurants and they always match, unlike doordash. Next time you order doordash, check the price of the item in your cart compared to the restaurant's price for the same item online. They always deceptively add several dollars to every item and then charge a bunch of fees on top of that. Toast is cheaper and faster than every other app I've used, even for delivery (as of March 2023 at least). What they lack in available restaurants they make up for in honest prices.

Terrible customer service. This app has terrible customer service. I had an issue where I was charged for food and never received my food. I asked Toast for assistance and all they told me was to call the restaurant. I told them I had been calling for two days and no one is answering. “Ryan” then blatantly lied to me and said he confirmed that the restaurant is open and I should call again. I go to the restaurant’s website where I learned that the restaurant is only open Wednesday- Sunday therefore him confirming that the restaurant was opened on a Monday was impossible! I will never be using this app again and I do not recommend it. Uber foods and Door dash are the way to go! They reimburse you and sort out the details with the restaurant themselves.

This App is Horrible - stick to DoorDash or UberEats. Ordered take out via the “Toast App” two main items $$$ were left out of my order. When I called the restaurant in Davenport no one would answer the phone even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The recording only says to order online or in person. When I checked the “Toast App” about missing items and a refund it instructed me to contact the restaurant directly. Very poor and lazy customer service not answering the phone. I realize people make mistakes but there is no excuse for poor, or in this case lazy customer service. I did enjoy the food in the past at Adlers but when half of an order is missing and you can’t even contact the restaurant or the ordering app to make things right, sounds like it’s time for me to move on to another restaurant and use DoorDash or UberEats in the future.

Impossible to contact driver or corporate. I placed a delivery order that was never fulfilled. The app claimed it was completed after 15 mins. I called the restaurant and hour and a half after placing the order to see if the food was still waiting to be picked up. It was. So I wasted my time and money waiting, paying for a service that was never fulfilled, and going out of my way to pick up cold food 2 hrs after it had been prepared. I tried submitting a “help ticket” requesting to at the very least have the delivery charge reversed. No response. There are enough other delivery apps out there that actually fulfill orders and care to make up for mistakes. The poor quality of the service this company offers & their lack of response led me here.

They added ads in the checkout…. This was a perfect app. Everything was great until they added big advertisements for Amex (at least for me) in the checkout process. I get that you need to make additional ad revenue but it pushes the Tips section another 30-40% down. To me thats an anti-pattern if you really want users to support both you and restaurants. Put the ad somewhere else, not during checkout. Super irritating, makes me not want to use the app anymore. Would give 5 stars otherwise. On an iphone13 pro max fwiw, so screen size isn't an issue - probably much worse for SE or other phone sizes if the UX is consistent across devices.

Potential but customers get screwed. I really wanted to like this app, in order to better support restaurants while we’re under lockdown. But this app is janky & there is NO SUPPORT for customers. They outsource delivery with DoorDash, at least in my area, so if you have any issues with your delivery.... you’re stuck. (Since you don’t get DoorDash support.) And even worse, they put the onus on the restaurant for all issues. You can’t even contact Toast – like, I haven’t even been able to find social accounts. When my order didn’t show up tonight, I had to call the restaurant and the poor staff had to grab their manager to figure out a solution (on Valentine’s Day of all days, suuuper busy). They were kind enough to place the order again, but no idea whether the restaurant will get reimbursed or have to eat the cost of the 1st order. In which case, we both would’ve been better off using another food delivery service, even if they take a bigger cut....

Reduced Restaurant Delivery Radius. I would’ve given this app a much better rating if I were basing my review solely on the pick-up aspect of it. It’s pretty straightforward, and the menu options available tend to be more comprehensive than what some of its competitors offer for the same restaurants. Nonetheless, as I personally tend to order delivery more often than pickup, the inexplicably limited delivery radius prevents me from enjoying said benefit in most cases. As a result, I find myself left with far fewer restaurant choices in general on ToastTab if I want to have my order delivered. It is frustrating to me, because I cannot understand the reasoning behind said strict delivery distances. Even though ToastTab is merely serving as an intermediary for DoorDash: facilitating the placement, payment, and contracted delivery of orders for various restaurants, they still apparently dictate the overarching limitations, on delivery distance, as I’ve l found that DoorDash DOES offer delivery for many of the places listed as “too far” on Toast, for a $0 fee, and at roughly 1/3 the delivery minimum! So, not only do I lose out on the food, but the app and restaurant lose as well, because I walk away with the $30+ I was willing to spend to meet their minimum ($18 more than I would’ve had to w/ DoorDash directly), and neither of them profits either. It seems silly, when they stood to successfully execute such an obscene upsell without lifting a finger!

Possible Fake Restaurants Listed. Avoid using this app if possible. I downloaded it because I saw a restaurant that I liked was listed. I placed my order and the delivery time came and went. After a half hour I called the restaurant through the app and the line just kept ringing and went to a generic voicemail. I left my information and found a different number online. I called the number and it was the restaurant but they never heard of Toast and only uses DoorDash. They couldn’t help me or tell me if they received my order. This is where it get really disappointing for an app that’s meant to help local businesses. There is NO support for these situation. No chat or phone number to call. There is an email which I have emailed twice with NO response. From a developer point of view, the fact that they have their FAQ sectioned answered by Deleted User is odd and unprofessional. This app is meant to help local business sell and deliver food. Instead, I’ll likely avoid the restaurant moving forward. Toast doesn’t look like they have a process to vet a business when they open an account since the phone number wasn’t even real and. Because I haven’t gotten a response from Toast I’m not forced to dispute the charge on my card. If I’m lucky, I’ll get a refund in a month.

Don’t use this for delivery. I’ve had generally okay results using this app for pick up, but it’s always been dreadful for delivery. They don’t show you where your driver is, nor do they provide you real-time updates about your food’s status. I had to wait over an hour after when Toast said my food would be delivered and as a result got extremely cold food; never once did I get an update about it. When I tried to contact customer service to locate my order, my ticket was never replied to. When I tried to request a refund because of the poor delivery and food, I was again ignored. I’ll never use this app for food delivery again.

Great service. A couple of days ago some services were not available for me for some reason so I chose to download toast and surprisingly it had what I wanted not the first options but it had other good options little diamonds is my favorite so far. I would definitely use it more often it had other options to choose from but other than that no issue so far :)

Inaccurate ETA’s. The first time I ordered via Toast Tab App, my food never arrived and I had to call the restaurant directly to find a resolution. The restaurant placed another order which also never arrived. When I called to check he status they said there was nothing they could do, the kitchen had closed. All I received was a refund and an empty stomach. I gave them another try today and first they said the order would arrive at 2:40, and then at 2:40 they pushed it out another hour. I am still waiting for my order and hope it arrives at the new time (which is well over the ETA that was provided).

Autocorrects addresses. This app will automatically “correct” your address when ordering to be wherever your phone GPS says you are. My orders regularly get delivered to the wrong address, causing frustration for me and the small businesses I’m trying to support. Most recently my $68 order needed to be remade and sent since it went down the street from me. The restaurant owner was understandably frustrated because they are out that money, and said when they contacted Toast, they were told they needed to have their customers turn off their location. Seems like a terrible solution. Anyhow, I’ll probably still use the app because my fave restaurants offer discount codes. But I’ll have to call the restaurants to verify my address after I order. Wish they’d fix that as it’s inconvenient for users and super unfair to restaurants who have to absorb those extra costs for Toasts mistakes!

First order fails. Ordered 3 drinks got none late delivery can only contact the store directly which will eventually pose a problem and can only receive refunds on incorrect orders from the store. Was still completed by doordash on the receipt and cost nearly 15$ for just those 3 drinks its far too much headache for not enough efficiency I believe stores are not accurately updating their accounts as well. My overall is a zero for lack of completion and most platforms such as these lack competency so I can go by the fact this was still technically a doordash delivery on a toast app I can’t see myself breaking the chains of Ubereats/postmates or grubhub and doordash. Unfortunately the bulk of my order was not delivered and took an hour to complete though it’s under two mile distance. In concept a food delivery app is nice but they all fail to complete what they promise with lack of efficiency or awareness.

Poorly designed. I only got this app because the one restaurant I order takeout from uses this service. I had been going to the restaurant’s Instagram page and using the link in their bio every time I ordered but then thought the app might make it easier and faster. Nope. When I search for the restaurant by name, the app tells me it doesn’t exist. Even after I logged in and it shows me my previous orders it still can’t find that restaurant. And since I live more than a few miles from it, and it defaults to just showing me restaurants near me, it won’t show up there either. I can put in the restaurant’s address and the app finally deigns to acknowledge it exists, but that’s a pain to do every time I want to order something, since there’s no way to favorite a restaurant or anything to make it quick to get to. Really, really clumsy design. I won’t be using this app. My circuitous route of going through Instagram is actually easier.

Worst Customer Service - beware of using. Beware using this service: they don’t consider app users to be their customers. I placed an order for delivery, but it never arrived. I tried calling the number listed in the app by toast, but because the restaurant is in a food hall, it is just a general recording that directs you to the food hall’s website. With no way of contacting the restaurant, I called the only Toast customer service number that I could find. The guy on the other side said that the restaurants are Toast’s customers, not app users who place orders through them. His only suggestion for getting a refund was to call the restaurant and for the restaurant to then call Toast to process the refund. I explained (again) that I had already tried to call them and the listed phone number doesn’t work. The customer service person then hung up on me without providing any other contact phone number to get a refund. And a couple minutes later, my order was marked as completed despite never receiving my food. I ended up calling a different location of the restaurant that I ordered from. They were really nice and explained that their other location does not do delivery and Toast isn’t supposed to have it listed for delivery. This other location is now working on getting me a refund. I never leave reviews, but just wanted to warn other users of this issue with Toast.

Takes your money - and no responsibility. Do not use this app. When a restaurant was closed due to a power outage - Toast refused to cancel the transaction. When I made the $50 order through Toast the restaurant was already closed up due to lack of power. I didn’t find out until I got there - which is fine, life goes on - went home and cooked dinner. But I had to HUNT to find the Toast customer service (because they really don’t want to be bothered), and after several conversations, they have said they are not responsible for any transactions and they have no control over cancellations. Well I can see the “TOAST” on my credit card statement so they better find some control or get out of the payment gateway business. Lesson learned to call the restaurant directly so you don’t give into this racket.

Don’t waste your time. I have gone round and round with a whole string a emails from their tech support team. I was questioned on how I set up the payment information, if I did it when I was making my first payment, if I checked the save payment information box. All of which I did multiple times over again. Then I recently get an email stating that there technical department is aware of the problem and are working to resolve this issue with no time frame. My last email wants to mark the issue as resolved because I did not respond back to an automated email asking if my correspondence with what the last technical support rep gave me. No I not happy, in fact I am very upset that they could not come out with the truth from the get go and tell me they have an issue that they are trying to address and haven’t resolved it yet. I could respect that. Instead they make me feel like the problem is with something I am doing wrong. I can read and I can follow directions for almost a half a century now. Save yourself some time and just hand your payment to your waitress/waiter or cashier. Don’t waste your time getting the run around with this app.

Simple tweak to prevent frustrations. Why can’t toast detect (like DoorDash / Uber etc) that the user isn’t where the delivery address and suggest it upon checkout? I accidentally placed an order to the wrong address and was left in a maze of calls with the restaurant. No way to cancel an order once it’s in made it even worse. Apparently because you sub out the delivery to DoorDash - even though we cancelled the order and placed a new one to the correct address the driver still managed to deliver to the wrong address. While I don’t want to blame your app it is a simple mistake users are likely to make if they previously delivered to a different address.

Easy to use. Some of my favorite local restaurants use Toast for their curbside offerings, and it works great! Once I find my restaurants that I want to order from, it’s super easy to use. I wish it were possible to pin or flag my favorite restaurants so it were easier to find them on the app. The app is location dependent, and I have to enter an old address since these stops are in a different neighborhood than where I live now. Maybe in a future version of the app we will be able to save certain restaurants so they always show up at the top of the app when we log on.

Would love a way to favorite or give feedback!. I love that my local coffee chain has started using toast so I’m able to order ahead. However, the set up of the app makes it easy to order from the wrong location despite clearly visiting one location more than the rest. It would be great if I could star the restaurant or for my most visited location to be first. The other locations frequently mess up my food/drink but I have no way to review the orders on the app. With the addition of these two features, this app would be my favorite!

Flabbergasted customer. This is a delivery app used by many restaurants in Seattle. It feels like the developers don’t use it at all. And I think I know why (read below). For example, the default order setting is set for “pickup”, we keep forgetting to change the setting to “delivery” and end up having to drive to pickup our order. I’m flabbergasted that this passes quality control… I mean come on folks that’s not rocket science. If you’re so passionate about the pickup / delivery option then at least add a setting to default to “delivery” or “pickup”. Or even better, remember the last setting! Also, the app relies on DoorDash, but it’s integration is super basic so it’s impossible to know where your order is except through some spammy SMS text. It’s like the app development was made through a mismatch of sub-contracts by 3rd parties. That would explain the lack of quality control. I wish you luck in the delivery space. Given the sub par quality of this app and its high rating, it’s clear that the delivery app space is up for grab. May the best win!

Charged for Nothing. I used toast to order from a restaurant when I was staying at a nearby hotel. I was charged for my order and told it would be ready on 15 minutes. I walked to the restaurant to pick up my food, only to find out it was closed for that evening. Toast doesn’t issue you a refund. They email the restaurant, and when nothing came of it, told me to dispute the charge. If you ever use them to order, be sure to call the restaurant first to make sure you actually are ordering from a place that can fulfill your order. I wasted my time ordering from them, walking back and forth to a closed restaurant, and now writing this review and soon to be disputing my charge. Seems like terrible customer service.

Beware of auto tip$$. Okay but not better than calling in. A local restaurant started using Toast for delivery and take-out orders. The app is okay. A lot of back-and-forth to search what you’d like. It gives an option to repeat a previous order but you are not able to see the order before you select. I will say I have have errors with my orders since using Toast as well. Items were missed and generally the cost is a lot more. And I don’t mean the $$$ delivery fee. The actually food costs more to order through the app. I also do not like the auto-tip option. There is a feature to enter a custom tip; while that seems perfect, I have entered a more than fair custom tip but alas when I hit “place order” my tip **magically** is more than I set it to be. I just placed an order and paid THE SAME AMOUNT in fee and tip 👀👀😳😳 as my order?!? What?? I will try one more time and hope that Toast provides and update to correct this “glitch.” After that I will just continue direct with the restaurant.

!! Our information has been leaked!!. I have received a notification about a leaked in regards to our information that we have saved on this app. Can you please verify? I am did saved my credit card on file for a fast check-out and now, I am concerned about this leak. I have frozen my credit card, also.. I can’t login to my Toast account. I get a wrong password notice. I have tried contacting your department on this matter and other, but I can never get a hold of anyone. I asked a question and was answered with a question...

Solid basics, but needs 2 key features. Works great for your basic orders. But please give us: —Ability to edit/add to a saved order. I have my usual favorite order, but today someone else is joining me. I have to start from scratch, as no way to edit the reorder cart, and trying to add my reorder to other items in a new cart wipes out that cart. So I have to manually reenter the entire combined order. That’s kludgy and silly. —Let us heart or otherwise save our favorite restaurants, then view them as a separate list. Pretty basic functionality in most apps with a huge list of options.

Garbage. Do not use this app or interface. I have used other delivery apps with virtually no problems. This one I finally got as a favorite restaurant is only on Toast. Placed order and after a huge delay the driver eventually claimed the restaurant was inaccessible and refused to pick up the food. Restaurant said that could not refund and it had to go through Toast, but that the driver was lying as the road was open and spaces free right out front. Toast refused to refund and said nothing they could do, and would not even take a report on the fraudulent driver. After hours on the phone with every place involved with no luck, I gave up. Life is too short to deal with these idiots. So someone swindled me out of $150 and I got nothing but high blood pressure. This app is garbage and at the very least happily enables fraud while waving its hands and saying it has no control iver anything that happens. I will never use this app nor will I ever get food from any restaurant again that insists on using Toast.

Decent tool poor end user help. Toast is a great tool for restaurants, probably on the expensive side for them, but a-nice tool. I am a customer of the various restaurants that use Toast. If you have a problem ordering good luck getting your issue resolved. The Toast support crew supports the restaurants, not the end customer like me. If you have a problem, contacting Toast is of no help—they only seem to help restaurants—their paying customers. You need to contact the restaurant directly, which when they are busy, it is next to impossible. What Toast should do, is have a person(s) that supports ordering customers and another crew that supports the restaurants directly.

Terrible app- the review is DEF not 4.9. I’ve used many food delivery app, this is by far the worst in both technical side and customer service. I used the app for delivery for the first time two days ago. The app charged 20%+ on deliver tip ($29) when I manually entered $5 and also double checked my entry. Note that this was for a delivery distance within 3 minutes. Secondly, when I called customer service, I was told that there was nothing they can do, and that they will only speak with the restaurant owner. This is after the restaurant owner told me to call the Toast app. So, I offered to do a 3 way call while I was on the phone with him, he said, “No, I can’t do that. Have a nice day. Bye” and hung up. I called the restaurant back and explained everything. The restaurant owner was shocked and called the Toast immediately. Then, Toast finally agreed to refund the incorrectly charged amount. Restaurant owner was sincere and kind. They will continue to have my business. Toast app, not. I’m removing the app and will never use it again.

Critically annoying bugs. Despite ordering from a restaurant routinely (and allowing Toast to use my location) Toast picked another branch of the restaurant 45 minutes away to place my order. Most location apps will warn you that your service location is distant, but not Toast. I didn’t notice the mistake until I was at my local branch. So my choice was to drive to the other location (or wait 75 minutes on a busy Friday evening.) Ugh. Earlier that week, I had thought I ordered breakfast on Toast and then gone to pick it up. The app could not show me my order, instead displaying “unable to complete this operation” or similar message. I had no idea whether my order had gone thru or not until I got to the restaurant and they told me they did have the order.

Nice but needs some fine tuning. 2 out of 5 times I’ve used this app recently my order was sent to the wrong restaurant, partly due to my blind acceptance that the restaurants near me were actually the ones near me. I order frequently from a privately owned chain restaurant with dozens of locations. I have had to drive an extra 15 miles each way to the other location to pick up my order when the restaurant I intended to order from is just around the corner from me. What I think this app desperately needs is the ability to “favorite” a particular restaurant.

Easy updates could fix this app!. App is okay. I like the access to online ordering for smaller independent restaurants. I have a few issues that drive me crazy! It doesn’t allow you to put a condo or apartment number in until pretty late in the process. It’s also very hard to find to add one. Due to this I sometimes forget and then I have to call the restaurant. Also way too easy to accidentally submit an order before you’re actually ready. There should be a better review process before the pay button comes up.

This App is Lacking. One major concern for me is the absence of options to cancel or modify orders. This becomes a serious issue when you are unable to get in touch with the restaurant to make any changes. Additionally, the app defaults to pickup, which makes it easy to accidentally select this option instead of delivery. I have personally experienced this problem multiple times, and as a result, I will no longer be using this app until it is rectified. While I typically notice the error right after placing the order, it is too late to make any changes. This issue seems to be unique to this particular app and has never been a problem with other ordering platforms. It can be incredibly frustrating to have no recourse to fix the mistake. Overall, the app has potential to be excellent, but customer support is virtually non-existent.

No Apple Pay and breaks auto fill? So much friction!. There’s just way too much friction in the account creation and checkout process. The app somehow breaks iOS’s autofill capabilities, so I have to manually type in my name and contact info. Can’t you just use the native frameworks? Then, plenty of other e-commerce apps are fine with just using email address verification for authentication, but not this one, so I had to create a password. A password? What year is this?? Then, at checkout, there’s no Apple Pay support, and again, it breaks autofill so I can’t have iOS fill in my credit card details. And there’s not even an option to use the camera to scan in my credit card info. So, I have to type that, too. All of this means there’s a serious amount of friction involved in placing an order. Surely Toast Tab wants to reduce this friction? They must have a high rate of abandoned carts. It’s a super hard time for restaurants right now—fixing these simple issues would make things better for everyone involved!

Anti Privacy Company. Toast is against privacy as they will not allow any of their websites or apps to work if you use a VPN. They and any restaurant who uses them have lost my business until fixed. Allow users to remain private and do not add the hassle of having to toggle the vpn just to get a burger. For a service charges around $500 a month to the restaurant, in addition to a litany of other fees, as well as doing all the credit card processing for most stores, the fact that they demand to have access to your data as well is troubling and disturbing and should make you question using them at all. 1 star for the greedy data collectors who are already getting paid yet demand more from you

App has become unusable. I don’t know when this happened, since every single set of release notes is rubber stamp “bug fixes and enhancements,” but two recent changes have made me lose all interest in this app. First, despite previously functioning just fine without my personal data, I suddenly found I’d need to create an account to keep any history of my purchases. Fine, I will proceed as guest and recreate previous orders. I know I’m not the customer, the restaurants are. But now, Toast WILL NOT GIVE MY MONEY TO THE RESTAURANT unless I create an account. This was never necessary before. I cannot imagine that Toast’s paying customers would rather not get my money at all. I have no relationship with Toast. They are now actively inserting themselves between their customers (the restaurants) and their customers’ customer (me).

Not impressed. I just downloaded the toast app to check it out and I’m already disappointed. I selected “delivery” for my address but when I tried to start an order for the 2nd restaurant on the delivery list, I got a pop up that says delivery is not available! If delivery isn’t available, why is the restaurant on the list?? The list of restaurants for delivery is already pretty paltry, I counted and there’s only 13 options to choose from, which is apparently now down to 12. It’s also not immediately clear what the delivery fee is for each restaurant, I had to first add items to my cart in order to see the fee and wow was it was an eye-popping number for some of them!! All in all I don’t think we’ll be ordering anything via Toast anytime soon since the other apps are still vastly superior.

User friendly all the way. Toast Takeout was easy to set up. I was able to use Apple Pay to pay for my order or I could set up another payment method if I wanted to. I live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. It was a pleasant surprise to see many restaurants on the app. Our first order was placed at Kalapawai Market. We were able to pick between placing an order for pickup right away or a delayed pick up at a later time. The full menu was on there and placing the order was easy and smooth. There was a box to leave comments to customize the order the way we wanted. Checkout was easy and seamless. There were also buttons to add tip if you wanted. When the order was ready for pick up we received a call from Kalapawai and it was right at n time. Great app! I would recommend to all my family and friends. I think this is going to be my go-to for ordering out from now on.

How to Pay?. Decent App. Use it every day, but I have two problems with it: 1) Setting up Payment- there seems to be no way to set up a new payment option (new credit card) without first trying to purchase something. If you go to your personal profile, you can see your payment options, but there’s no way to edit them! What the...? You can delete them, just can’t add or edit. Sooo...you order something, then click payment options, THEN you can add a different card if you want. Not easy in a hands free world when I’m driving to work, approaching my garage and want to quickly place my order before I park and head to the coffee shop. What am I missing??? 2) someone recently gave me a gift certificate to that favorite coffee shop mentioned in 1) above. On the back of the gift card, it’s says “powered by Toast”, and there’s even a scannable barcode. But guess what? there’s no way to load the gift card into toast. Soooo....while I have this cool app, and I have this gift card to my favorite coffee shop, all powered by TOAST, I still pay for coffee at my favorite coffee shop with my old credit card, and I’ve got 50 bucks sitting on a gift card I don’t use because my coffee is all paid for (on my old card) when I get there. Uggh!

Form fields need auto fill tags. When setting up a new account and entering credit card information none of the forms allow for auto fill on iOS. This means that users have to manually enter values in each field and adds friction to the ordering process. You should be properly tagging your form fields so that iOS can auto populate them for users. You shouldn’t make it so hard for your users to complete an order. Also please add Apple Pay to the payment types! It’s easier to use, requires the user to enter less data, and is more secure. Finally, how about an iPad app? It’s 2020...maybe it’s time to learn autolayout or at least let your web views scale to the full screen.

Non responsive customer service setup. Our order was delivered to the wrong address by contactless delivery. Same number on order but wrong street (go figure). They dropped at the wrong door, rang doorbell and left. Thankfully the people were home and nice enough to drive it over to our house. Customer Service on Toast is only a messaging service and they emailed back almost 2 hours later. How is this Customer Service? Restaurant was so busy and address was correct in the order. They have a lot to live up to. We got our food but they didn’t do the delivery.... app has a ways to go on functionality. It’s clunky but it supported one of our fave restaurants.

Cart not flexible. Overall the app is good but recommend 2 areas of improvement: 1) if load a previous order into shopping cart to save time you can only delete items and not add any additional items. For instance 5 items from last order added but want to change one item—can’t do it—if you delete item and go back to order the new one the other 4 items are no longer in your cart so you are essentially putting in the whole order anyway. 2). Can’t seem to change my email address in the Edit Profile!

App is good but missing key functionality. Decent app but it makes it too easy to choose Pickup rather than Delivery. Once a Pickup order has been made, you can’t make the change to Delivery which makes using the app in a hurry really inconvenient and troublesome. Even a simple pop up before the order is finalized would be monumental. This has happened to myself and others I know! Additionally, Toast doesn’t have customer support - only thru DoorDash which ONLY deals with delivery orders made on Toast. Super inconvenient. Please make this fix Toast!!

Needs to improve user support. Have been increasingly disappointed by Toast over the last few months. They lack any clear customer service for users of their app. The only number I could contact was service for restaurants when I needed to change the phone number with my account (no way to do that on the app). Also have had increasingly poor experiences with their restaurants. Food tonight had clearly been sitting out for awhile and I picked it up 11min early. Smaller portions and overall poor quality compared to previous experiences a few months ago, but no way to relay this information to Toast or leave a review on the app. Thus, I type this frustrated review over my lukewarm dinner.

Great for local food, needs updated functionality. I’ve used Toast for some time now and really like the ability to order easily from local restaurants. Overall it’s a good app and does what it promises. The app does need some very basic functionality added especially to profile management. There is no way to update information such as your email address. Payment method management is also non existent. To be useful in the long run it needs more professional level functionality.

Very poor performance and seems to be fraudulent compared to previous MyBurger app. We tried to different times to place an order for my burger, since we were told this is the new app for that restaurant chain. Both times they try to center order to location it was over 25 miles from where we actually were located (across the street from the MyBurger we wanted to get food from.) Now I show a pending charge for an order at a MyBurger location that I never went to. I have contacted the restaurant, but they have not refunded it, yet. The app support does not seem to respond. Very disappointed because we loved going to MyBurger and will probably go somewhere that has a reliable app.

No way to cancel order. The restaurant I went for my lunch gave me a card for this app. Saying that if I order with this app, I can get discount for the first order. The other day, I used this app for the first time to order my lunch. On my way to the restaurant, the owner called me to let me know that the item I ordered was not available. She told me to cancel the order on the app. But after I finished the call, I couldn’t find where can I cancel my order anywhere on this app. And the app user interface is so simple. Obviously, they didn’t put a lot of thought into the functionality of this app before they put it on the Apple store.

Great! Here’s one idea for further improvement. I love so much about Toast. One suggestion I’d like to make- please let me choose from my “order again” list on a scheduled ahead order. Right now, if I want to use the convenience of order again, it assumes I want it ASAP, and when I try to edit my pick up time, it doesn’t apply to items already in cart.

Was good. I used this app all the time I had $40 in points saved up. I went to use it again and I was logged out so tried to log in and it won’t let me log back in when I try to re set the password toast doesn’t even send a password re set email I tried to change emails nothing worked. So I’m out $40 and good luck getting ahold of anyone they they have no costumer service.

No Apple Pay Compatibility. The app has a good UI and functions pretty cleanly, but it is infuriating that I have to hand over my credit card information when I already have Apple Pay set up. First world problems, but still. I'm no app developer, but I would think Apple makes it straightforward to interact with the Apple Pay API?

Incredibly frustrating!. I thought signing up for this app would make things easier. 3 times in last week I went through the process of entering large orders orders multiple times without success. For whatever reason wasn’t able to save my credit card which fie some reason in an app in 2020 I have to enter manually. Other time said was a problem with my order. First time gave up after multiple tries, 2nd time ended up calling it in. Come on guys this isn’t that hard. Let me use Apple Pay, access credit card info or scan card when I sign up for account.

Sort of OK but security and functionality lacking. Does not function well with iPhone XS, iOS 14.8, 512GB. Running a VPN for security. App did not interface with iPhone secure storage of passwords for apps. Did not allow secure password generation and storage. App does not indicate secure encrypted operation. (consequently I did not enter credit card info) App does not allow editing of cart contents for deletions or quantity adjustments. Pretty basic capabilities to be lacking. Deleted the app and used the phone. Easier then dealing with the app short comings.

No food, no refund. $75 delivery order was prepared by restaurant but a driver was never dispatched to pick it up. Restaurant did their job, Toast and it’s “delivery” system failed us. Restaurant tells us Toast is responsible and they won’t refund, understandably. Toast tells us, “sorry but we recommend that you contact the restaurant again” for refund. This was after we had to email/call multiple times to get a response. If you call customer service, it is an automated service for restaurant support…not for the actual customer. Hungry guests, crying children and the loss $75 made for a terrible Saturday night. Would never recommend this app.

App is missing some features. I ordered from restaurant recently and when I went to pick up the order they said they had not seen the order. Later I learned they when no longer using Toast for their orders and as a result they were unable credit my account. The restaurant is still listed on Toast. The only option that Toast provides is to contact the restaurant, but that doesn’t help with this scenario and I had to spend a couple hours to resolve the problem with my credit card company. It would helpful to report the issue to Toast so others can be spared going through the same issue.

Love toast. Would also love to be able to send a follow up message to restaurants after I’ve received my meal to let them know they nailed it, or give a helpful tip that could have made my experience that much better. Seems like closing the loop in this regard would put a face to the customer in a way that could improve the experience and positively reinforce or give feedback to insure the proper service that we’re being asked to tip on before having been served.

Terrible app. There is no way to include my apartment number!!! How can they deliver to me if they don’t know my apartment number. I suppose the developers all live in residential homes so it never occurred to them that there should be a way to add an apartment number. When I try to enter an apartment number it doesn’t accept my address. Absurd! Also, there is a north end of my street and a south end. It recognizes the north end but not the south end. If I try to enter South [street name] it will only allow North [street name] or just my street name without north/south designation. Amateur hour here folks. Don’t waste your time with this silly company and their silly app.

Nice app; saving a card- frustrating. I like the app to help take away some of the run around for the server/bartender. It gives you tip amount options which helps a lot. However, when I try to add/save a card, it requires you to purchase something (no problem since I’m paying my tab). The app gives you the option to save the card- I’ve done that about 5 or 6 times and I anticipate having to do it again next time I use the app. Otherwise a nice app

Great service. A couple of days ago some services were not available for me for some reason so I chose to download toast and surprisingly it had what I wanted not the first options but it had other good options little diamonds is my favorite so far. I would definitely use it more often it had other options to choose from but other than that no issue so far :)

Love ToastTakeOut. Direct Orders and we never have to look for the menu, it’s right on our phone! We use for take out and delivery, able to see full menu and then some, with options to put in our special request and customize, we can see our rewards points and redeem, love the curbside option! Less wait when we order on this app too!

Good app but needs a couple things worked on. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this app/service, but they need to fix payment options!!!! And FAST!!! I cannot add a new card & it keeps saying there is a problem with my card and there isn't. I'm able to use it online on every other app but this one!!! Infuriating Also if a restaurant offers rewards, there is no way to redeem them if you use delivery because it always says delivery minimum not met (because your rewards is paying for your order). PLEASE, PLEASE fix these issues or I'm going to have to stop using this app/service

I am liking thus app! 😁. I'm thrilled my experience with Toast so far! The selections are absolutely amazing and they truly hit the spot. One thing that would make it even more incredible is if they offered an even wider variety of food choices with more points rewards, so it’s a total win. Nonetheless, I can't help but adore the reward points I earn with every visit to a restaurant. It's like a delightful bonus that brings a huge grin to my face! Don't you agree?

Always Friendly. Even during these tough Covid-19 times, The Hammond is doing all they can to keep staff employed! The Hammond has been one of our favorite restaurants in Camas since they opened and we are here to support you as much as we can during this time. Thank you for the great parking lot service and the wonderful food we had for “take out” dinner! We will be back for more.

Features needed. Need to be a able to edit the order time when reordering a past order. When trying it doesn’t let you get back to your cart and the only option is to clear it. When you go back to your cart the time changes back to ASAP. Need to be able to see what’s in your cart. It allows you to swipe it away, but there is clearly stuff still in there but you can’t get to it and you have to start over.

SCAM - TAKE OUT ONLY. Bad idea, tantamount to a scam. Note this app is simply for ordering food on-line so *you* can pick it up. I went to a local pizza place’s website, which was using this platform to place both delivery and pick-up orders. I was bait and switched with a $5 coupon into downloading and using their app for the order - which fools you into thinking delivery is provided by asking for your address. When the order didn’t come, I investigated. Silly me for not paying attention - I had to pay the pizza place $2 to deliver and tip the driver! They got paid via surcharging the local pizza place and the “tip” they didn’t pass on.

Not good.. I wouldn’t recommend this delivery service at all. I placed an order. Failed to receive my food. Contacted toast customer service. Was told they couldn’t issue a refund without restaurant approval. Contacted the restaurant. They claimed they never received the order. The toast app shows the order. My bank account shows the funds removed. Yet I never got my food. Nor is anyone willing to offer a refund. If you like spending money on food you won’t get to eat by all means download and give this app your money. There are much better delivery service apps. Ones that I’ve never had this issue with. Stay away from this app.

Poor Functionality & Design. This is the worst of the food apps. It has bad design decisions (for example, when you’re about to hit submit on an order, a new button says you can click it to order with your Amex card to save $, so you click it & celebratory confetti makes your order seem complete, then when you go to get your food you learn the order never did go through; you were just tricked). Things like that happen with this app, & unexplainable buggy things (like randomly logging you out & making you sign in again). It’s the worst.

App not working well. I had a change of credit card but the app won’t let me change my credit card in the account after deleting the old card. The second issue is twice now I’ve requested to change my password because I can’t get into my account it says an email was sent and it never sent an email. So in theory this is a really great app and program but it’s not really working.

Beware privacy practices of this app!. This app requires your VPN to be turned off in order to work and find the place from where you wish to order. Some apps work like this and it isn’t a huge deal to work around; however … Upon temporarily pausing VPN in NordVPN, this app for the last THREE times has logged out my account and removed VPN settings on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. At first this seems nuts. Why would an app do this? So, I gave it another chance and placed a second order, thinking that there was some other cause. But NOPE logged out and settings removed again. I then deleted the app entirely. Two weeks later I re-downloaded the app to place an order and bam VPN logged out and settings deleted. Why would an app do this? To harvest your personal information. I won’t be ever using this app again and will warn others of what appears to be nefarious intent.

Works, clunky signup, no support for Apple Pay. This apps does what is says on the tin. However, it is missing some crucial integrations that makes it fee a bit clunky. It doesn’t offer Sign In with Apple or Apple Pay support, which makes the initial sign up process a trial. The only way to pay is to enter a credit card, which is not ideal. The time estimates are not good either. I would add at least 5 minutes to each estimate for when the food will be ready.

The worst developed app ever, you data is at risk. I had a typo in my email so within their user help section they recommend you email them and have it updated, so I emailed them requesting the email be corrected that is attached to my phone number be updated They recommended me to create a new account using a secondary phone number and then updating my email. This is the worst customer service app ever they have no control to update the phone number or the email associated with it I now requested any and all data of mine be removed from the database and their app it is unclear why they would develop such a strict email / phone number, data control, definitely not worth the security risk that’s associated with this app. If you cannot delete our change, my phone number email associated with it shows me that they will never delete your data. Do not use this app

Great app… except…. PLEASE either make the tip section more prominent or confirm that you’re not leaving a tip. Or maybe let me add a tip after the order has been placed. I feel like I didn’t have this issue long ago, but recently I’ve noticed that the tip section is very easy to miss. There’s been at least 3 occasions where I accidentally omitted the tip, and the restaurants say there’s nothing they can do about it. Please, I’m begging you…help me stop shorting the wait staff!

Frustrating app. I absolutely love my local restaurant, but this app they use for delivery is a joke. It can’t find my address and my deliveries have been delivered to other people. The delivery instructions can’t be edited once typed and you can’t reorder previous orders. I’ve been told the browser version for computers is more flexible, but for whatever reason my account is not able to be opened on the computer version. Before the coders and engineers chop it up to me not knowing my password, I use a password manager and I’m fairly tech savvy. Part of my business is making websites and apps.

Mobile app needs improvement. Toast is convenient to use but the mobile app needs improvement. Two major issues I have are: 1) it is too easy to make a payment without adding a tip and there’s no way to add a tip after. You should allow me to set a default tip rate, make me choose a tip value, or allow me to tip after. 2) it’s not clear how to change my settings from the app. For example, a vendor wants me to allow text notifications. I’ve tried searching for this and can’t find it.

Won’t Let Me Sign Up. I kept trying to sign up for the app and every time I would make it to the “fill in your name” part it would have the “next” button in the keyboard but not the orange next button up top that would usually take me to the next step. So I would get through most of the sign and get to this point and have to stop. And I thought I was going to be able to order through the guest feature but it made me try to sign up again and it didn’t work. So I didn’t get to order my food from that location cause they weren’t picking up their phone and the voicemail said to sign up on Toast. The business unfortunately suffered cause of the app and that’s not okay.

Horrible App. This app is horrible. Especially when using a gift card. I ordered food from Eat Fantastic in El Segundo, applied my gift card number and saw the discount appear. Then when I submitted payment the discount wasn’t applied. Toast says to take it up with the restaurant and I did. The restaurant says to take it up with Toast and there’s nothing they can do because the order went through Toast. I will never use Toast again and will never do any sort of business with restaurants using Toast, especially Eat Fantastic. I will tell all my coworkers to avoid these businesses as well.

Annoying when it wont show my restaurants from direct links. I am annoyed on the app it wont let me view the restaurants when I tapped directly from their website. They have some weird location proxy radius distance won’t allow you to see. I am planning to Pick Up and there shouldn’t be location radius restriction. This should only apply to delivery section.. It’s annoying and I have to delete the app and just view it on the web browser instead.

Terrible app. I really wanted to like Toast, but I’ve now had multiple instances where the delivery address I’ve provided in the app is translated incorrectly to the dispatcher (I.e. Doordash) and they’ve shown up to a location 30 minutes away from where I actually am. The worst part is that there’s no way to easily find a customer service contact for Toast - the help line is the restaurant, who then tells you to call the delivery service who then says it’s a Toast problem. It’s extremely frustrating and a terrible customer experience. I’ve never been happier to delete an app

Could be more user friendly. This app is helpful for setting up an account and seeing a menu but that’s about it. There are a few things that they could do to make it better and since there isn’t a place to make recommendations I’m doing it here. 1) Allow a person to change their number or have multiple phone numbers. I should be able to call in an order on my home phone or cell phone, and husband’s phone without loosing points. Most families would prefer to use one account, especially if they are using the same bank accounts etc to pay for them. 2) Allow people to change and add payment options without having to make a purchase through the app. 3) Why is there an edit profile option if all you can do is change your name and nothing else in the profile section?

Useful for some of my favorite places!. This is useful for some of my favorite places (and maybe others!), which uses the platform for their website ordering system. However, could you please add a “Favorites” or “Bookmarked” feature so we could save our favorite restaurants? Beyond that, I like this app l. Not all of my favorite restaurants use Toast, and some mistakenly say they use the app but actually use it on their website only, but I still see myself using Toast fairly regularly.

What’s with the wait times?. Twice a week or more I drive to work and get my same drink from my same local coffee shop. It’s about 10 minutes from my door and once I place my order it’s usually ready right as I arrive. Suddenly that wait time is now 30+ minutes, but if I just walk in it takes about 5. Sort of makes the app pointless if I can’t order a coffee without 30 minutes advanced notice. Coffee shop was just as confused as I was and annoyed.

Ease of Use - Loc & TO. The app is very easy to use. You can set up payment and then process takeout or finding a place near you. It keeps a history of your orders to help you remember what you liked and where you got it. Only downside is if someone decides to treat you, I haven’t found switching payment methods to be easy.

App can’t find restaurants/bakeries. I know several local businesses rely on Toast, but it breaks my heart that this app can’t seem to find them. I’m 2 miles away and it doesn’t think this place exists. I could copy-paste the address of the bakery and put it as my location, and no result. Their Instagram profile link goes to a Toast website - why doesn’t it work in the app? Toast is a major employer in Boston and I have to say: What are you spending your resources on? This Search has been broken for at least a year. Hello Product Managers, what are you prioritizing?

Supporting local without the middleman fees. We’ve relied more and more on takeout to support local restaurants during the pandemic, and we want to keep doing so after things go back to normal (alongside eating out again). But we HATE all the fees and knowing that other apps take such a significant cut from our favorite restaurants. Toast is amazing for ensuring that our local go to spots get the most bang from our buck, and we really appreciate that.

Order Issues. Toast doesn’t provide support to consumers. Instead, like many terrible service oriented organizations, they bury their customer service number and place the issue on the consumer to resolve themselves. For example, I placed an order and received an email 5 minutes later indicating Toast hadn’t heard from the merchant; in turn, the email directed me to call the restaurant. As instructed, I called the restaurant and ended up in an IVR loop. I then drove to the store, and they were closed due to internet issues. Eventually, I was able to find the buried number; Toast informed me I needed to keep attempting to contact the merchant and not to worry because I had 30 days to work it out.

Gift certificate is lost, password mismatches. 1) My sister bought me a Toast gift certificate today. I got a text message with a link. I click on the link, it just opened the Toast app. Gift certificate is not listed under payment methods. 2) The username/password combo that works in the phone app (if I bypass the option to log in with phone number), does not work on the website. If I go through the password reset routine, the email never arrives. (Yes, I checked spam/junk.) I removed my credit card and will not use this app in the future.

Login issues and then some. I just want a sandwich. Now the app insists I login using my phone not my email and attempts to create a blank account for me while I already have one tied to my email which apparently is not a login option. Now I’m stuck refreshing my email for verification numbers that never come and then it also tells me that my password was stolen from their servers. It’s a mess of a process to login. I just want a sandwich and it would have been easier to just call the restaurant….

Useless app. I have tried using this app several times since it’s the one our fave Mexican restaurant uses for online orders. Two times it said the restaurant was closed when it wasn't, and I was able to call my order in. Several other times (and still currently) the menu says one of the items is out of stock, which isn’t even true according to the restaurant. This app is pointless since I always end up having to call my takeout order in. The help section in the app just has a bunch of errors that don’t lead to customer service.

Just a facilitator. I’ll let the company’s response to my order not being delivered to my address do all the talking: Zachary H. (Toast) Oct 17, 2023, 16:29 CDT Hello Matt, Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. We are the platform that restaurants use to host their online menus, and when an order is made the funds and order information are sent directly to the restaurant. This is why I directed you toward the restaurant in my initial email. I would be happy to reach out on your behalf, but I can only communicate with them via email and I can not guarantee a response. If you would like me to contact the restaurant please confirm the following information or send in a copy of your receipt: Name of the restaurant and the city where it is located Cost of your order Last four digits of the card you used to make the order Name on the order Email address on the order I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Zachary Toast Guest Support

Can’t use at all. I reset my password successfully (supposedly). When entering the new password, which I know to be correct it didn’t log me in. However it didn’t say my password was incorrect either. Instead after sitting there motionless for about 30 seconds it said “we cannot update your password at this time” repeatedly. This was strange because I had already updated my password according to the app. Also strange because I wasn’t updating my password, I was attempting to log in. Now it says my email is locked due to too many attempts. Now what?

Use a different app if you can. The app works fine, but it is no help at all if you have an issue with your order. I had a restaurant forget to include an item, and Toast tells you to call the restaurant, who of course can’t find the toast order in their system to give a refund, etc. If I was good at interacting with people I wouldn’t be paying for food delivery, lol. Compared to DoorDash where you submit a help ticket and get a refund within minutes, Toast is step down.

Can’t ask for more. It’s extremely easy to navigate and I have never had an incorrect order or a glitch or anything that would be a turnoff from a food ordering app. I’d say it’s the best food app I’ve used even though I’m in an area that only has a couple listings on the app. The orders are always accurate

Unnecessary delays on orders. For some reason, the app adds an unnecessary delay to my orders. When ordering from the restaurant down the block, the app tells me the order will be ready in 50 minutes. When I called the restaurant to find out why it takes so long, they said the order was placed on Hold by Toast. Last time the order was delayed over an hour. It’s much quicker to walk down the block and place the order. I never wait more than 20 minutes. I’m not sure why Toast intentionally puts orders on Hold. I won’t be ordering through Toast anymore.

Very limited options for customers. Placing a delivery order through ToastTab gives the customer very little options. You can’t review the order or driver, even though it’s powered by DoorDash and the orders don’t show as affiliated through them if you go to their app. My order arrived 45 min after expected and noted delivery time. You can’t adjust the tip after the order goes through. The order was ready- the fault was not restaurant but the driver. There is no oversight - you are at their mercy. Ordering for pickup is fine but it’s not a good system app for delivery.

A Great Idea!. Having an online experience where you still get quality food and drinks prepared for you during a busy week date night or last-minute planning saves the hurry of the day and transforms it into a blessed one. Also, being able to support local businesses brings joy to my soul!
