Great game overall, but.... Love this game. Totally different in my opinion than Skyrim. The combat system is the most unique I’ve ever encountered, it’s fluid and fast paced, which makes it feel realistic. Everything else in the game is ok. The ISSUE(a) is the pvp system for whatever reason took a nose dive after beta. I can’t find a matchup to save my life, and having to sit and wait for the system to find a match is straight up torture.. especially since it started taking 10 mins + of staring at the screen to book a fight (post beta). The store is expensive...the most I’ve seen in terms of what you spend vs what you get. It’s completely unbalanced. The last thing I’d say as a negative for myself personally would be. I completed the entire story line months ago, all I have left are daily quests.. which are generally trash.. there’s a total lack of variety in the level appearances, creatures, etc.. it gets real old real fast once you’ve completed the story line. About the ONLY thing this game updates pretty regularly is the pay store items and “bargains”. My advice would be don’t invest your money progressing in a game that runs out of content.. other than that this game is great.. you have to try this game for the combat system though, it’s really fantastic! Looking forward to getting some new stuff from the DEVELOPERS one of these days!! I’d love to love this game again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Bethesda!. As it turns out, this really is the best mobile game in history! I was one of the few folks lucky enough to play early access and I love EVERYTHING about the game. Having a reason to put it down once you reach a chest cap, having to grind 10x as hard as paying players for a chance at the good loot/items and you guys making grinding seem like something worth picking up the phone and opening the app. I wrote a 4 star review before, after the E3 update, but as it turns out I misunderstood an in game mechanic. I was ready weeks ago to write a 5 star beaming review and didn't have time. I got time today! If you don’t love this game, I respect your opinion. Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here with my dragon plate armor and lvl 10 buildings 🙌🏾. If you can’t see yourself competing with pay to win players, this is not for you. If all you want is a mainstream video game company to give their all to make the best mobile version of their catalog then you are welcome!!! Thank you Bethesda and everyone involved. Not just for letting me play early, but for getting this sooo right. You can’t please everyone, but you sure did right by me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very well done.

Entertaining. The game is entertaining and can easily be finished with f2p. P2P will obviously have a massive advantage, but this is almost completely mitigated late game. The game becomes repetitive and a grind after level 35ish, which is fine for me and many other players, but may not be your ideal game. As a higher level it will take hours of gameplay for a single level with the game only currently having a few different maps and job types; maybe 40 different jobs in total. The mission difficulty is currently far to easy as once you can make the top gear you can stand still against the hardest enemies in a job for a full minute before they will kill you; add in abilities that heal/mitigate damage and they can't harm you. The developers are actively updating, but are sadly making the game easier and easier. Overall I am happy giving it a 5 star since it has entertained me and will continue to entertain me for many hours. I would suggest to the developers to make the game harder, and perhaps add in kill stats to know how many kills you have and damage you have done. Perhaps in in-game dossier to see enemy stats. My biggest issue is that the level-up rewards are completely unbalanced and worthless. 300,000 experience for a level and 5 grand soul gems was rather disappointing and should either be converted to far higher amounts or simply give us gems.

Love this game but something about potions needs to change.. Love this game and I’m going to keep this review short, everything is amazing in this game it doesn’t blow anything up for micro transactions and if you ask me you can get a lot of gems with spending money on this game and it makes it fun that it’s now blowing up micro transactions all in your face. But let me talk about potions. Health potions to be clear. Garlic is an common item yet so hard to get. That or lavender. Yeah you have to grind to get items but even the alchemist over prices her stuff and it has mad the game well let’s just say unenjoyable from this part. It’s hard to complete some quests or missions without health potions granted that some of the maps have food lying around the other maps don’t. And it’s extremely hard to grind out missions just so I can make health potions. Chests will sometimes give you garlic or the alchemist ingredients you need which is amazing but I just feel that there should be a constant stock on ingredients at the alchemist and it would be easier to get money and buy ingredients off her instead of sometimes finding key ingredients that are suppose to be “common” to get. Other than that this game is FANTASTIC KEEP IT GOING PLEASE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very Unfair if you can relate hear me out.. Though you upgrade in the game there’s a lot of ways to earn money and upgrade it takes some serious dedication and one of the best ways is arena mode though at times you get some really nice matches and repairing armor after 3 matches cost 6,000 coin the game will purposely queue you up with someone 15+ levels up from you and Has armor that you could buy but you 100% can not use until you’re level 30+ and though I can slash and block all successfully and I never miss a perfect hit or bash block with the shield I’m the one who gets the absolute beating of my life and it’s simply aggravating and Unfair FIX THIS. It’s so annoying I try to see it as good training yes! But what do you expect me to do?? Beat him!? Like come on let me have a chance I’m such a good fighter but their level has so much more power I get slammed without them even trying yet I’m the one constantly getting blowing hits on them and I have them to the brim line and they hit me twice because I mess up once and suddenly over half my health is at 2HP and their the winner and I’m the one with penalized trophy’s and ruined armor.

Solid for early access. I hate pay to play. This is a wonderful mobile version of elder scrolls. Pretty, entertaining, and just plain fun. It’s simple, but something you can thoughtlessly sink a few hours into. Which is fortunate because if you’re not willing to sit through some clash of clans style build times, you’re gunna have yourself a bad time. The biggest problem is everything in the game past level 5 is a half an hour or more to accomplish anything, and buildings feel useless and meaningless more often than not. The quests are a little repetitive, but nothing we haven’t seen before. The biggest problem is that after gearing up after 20 hours of blacksmithing decent armor, you find yourself at a wall. At around level 9 i found the most severe difficulty spike of any game in recent memory. Every fight in the game went from “yeah if you swing enough they’ll die and you take no damage” to “if you don’t have at least 1 potion per enemy you’re gunna die even if you perfect shield everything” I’ve tried grinding and leveling up, but honestly the armor and quest differential is insignificant compared to the jump in power of enemies. While i seriously enjoyed the first few mindless hours of gameplay, i wish there either was no difficulty spike, or it came in late game. Not when it feels like you’ve barely gotten anything done after 7 hours.

Unenjoyable reward structure. While Blades provides some level of satisfying dungeon crawler gameplay with the combat, earning the rewards is not at all a fun experience. Being unable to open any of the chests I find during a dungeon run because I have a 1 or 6 hour timer running on opening a better chest is disappointing. The changes to silver chests have helped with the bloat on chest capacity, minorly, but requires that I spend more time worrying about timers. Collecting the variety of materials needed to construct buildings, craft weapons and armor, or potions is dull as it is either through chests or jobs, the repeatable grind of side-missions. The main quest does provide needed materials early on, but is hardly a reliable source later. Blades feels most like a lootbox collector, and the result is that the moderately enjoyable gameplay lost its value once I felt like I was stuck in a pointless loop. Do a quest or a job, collect chests and sparse materials, open chests and/or spend materials on crafting or building, repair and repeat. The ultimate goal of that cycle is to... enable the continuation of that cycle, but with better gear and buildings to provide you with the game’s RPG mechanics. Many games do this, Blades has done it poorly if it has made me so painfully aware of its gameplay loop without offering something of substance. Perhaps its a limitation of conventional mobile game design, which is a shame, because the hardware can handle much more than the standard.

Lots of Potential, but needs some work.. I’ve been playing for a while now (level 22) and I can say that I’ve enjoyed the game. However somewhere around level 15 the game came to an absolute crawl it was like going from 100 to 1 in a matter of 1 level. After crossing that threshold doing the main quests was replaced with having to do a large amount of jobs and Abyss runs in order to get the gear and material needed to progress. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing but there needs to be some balancing done to the story and quest, because there is a lot of time in between the story you kind of forget what was going on. In short it just gets super grindy, like Destiny 1 grindy. I wish I was smart enough to come up with the solution for this, but I’m not one to be the expert on how all that works out. Maybe tone down the difficulty on the quests and creatures. For instance trolls are so bad right now. Their regen is manageable but extremely excessive. And because the game is gear dependent, leveling isn’t really that amazing. That’s just my thoughts over all game is good especially for early access, but I think we have a little ways to go before we are there.

Amazing game. Being a person who really enjoys dungeon crawler games, I find this to be an awesome game. A lot of people are complaining about level 10+ being too hard, but the game isn’t hard AT ALL. If you need gold or building resources go to the ‘job’ tab under the quests section and you will typically get 1 star or two star difficulty jobs that reward equipment and other goodies. Don’t try and win quests that are 5 star because they were made to be difficult to lower level players. Upgrading gear can help make fights a lot easier as well. Consider crafting gear with better stats, or temper your weapon/armor piece for increased stats. If it is possible, upgrade your blacksmith to unlock better items in the shop and under the craft section. Another frequent complaint is that chests take too long to open. Don’t ever open golden/silver chests as soon as you start playing the game, because you will be unable to open other chests until the timer expires. You can always increase your storage space for gems by pressing the plus button. This game is a really great game with good gameplay and amazing graphics. I would definitely suggest this to anyone who is looking for something fun to play.

I LOVE THIS GAME!. Not one hint of a lie, I stopped mid gameplay to come over here and review just because of the GRAPHICS. The whole game is mesmerizing and beautiful and I love being immersed in this world. The scene I just came from is in a circle of pillars with the sun peaking through the trees giving a ray of translucent red sunlight and it’s literally stunning. I play on a tiny phone too (iPhone SE) and I’m still blown away. And then add in the SCORE?? It’s just serotonin in a game. Beautiful transitions between battle music and other scenes, relaxing ASMR type music whilst exploring and doing towne stuff, just all around amazing. The gameplay itself is VERY user friendly! It acts as a console controller (which I discovered easily on accident) so the left thumb can be a toggle which made the experience that much better. I’m at Level 5, building my town, taking quests and jobs, and absolutely in LOVE with this game. I had no idea such quality of console-type game was available for phones (I have looked over the years, closest I game to console gameplay was Lego) and am so super happy. And it’s FREE?! It’s just super perfect. Seriously. 10 stars if I could!

Good game with some small flaws. I was pleasantly surprised by how much you can do on this game. It has quests and a bit of a story and crafting. It’s not completely open world but it is a mobile game not a console. I’ve spent a lot of time enjoying this game and I will continue to. There are two flaws that I have noticed from the beginning. There is one flaw that I think can be fixed and one that probably can’t. It won’t stop me from playing though. The first flaw is in combat. The way the combat is designed there are too many ways for spells to not work. I like being a spell caster and I feel like spells have been pretty useless especially at low levels. Better to have an enchanted weapon. Spells can be interrupted by you being hit but also if you do something like block or swing a weapon it interrupts the spell too. And you can’t attack something from a distance like a squishy spell caster would do. Weapons are much faster and do more damage with combos. The combat could be fixed though. The bigger problem may not be fixable. Because the game requires a constant link to WiFi I keep getting booted off. Every time I go into the game it takes forever to load and if the WiFi has a hiccup I end up watching the loading screen again.

Great Game. Oct 2019: Elder scrolls has great graphics, a well thought through story line, and is very playable on iPad. I love the opt out of analytics feature. It took some time to kick in (24 hours). The last game I played showed no respect to players in this area, conducted fraudulent pay to play charges, and ruined any hope I will lightly provide donations to game devs ever again. My rating will move to five stars if a subscription cost were possible rather than pay to play which is full of privacy invading and insulting advertising tactics. Third party views would make it perfect. Update November 2019: I have been thoroughly enjoying this game! It is challenging yet free to play is possible. The graphics in the game outshine any mobile game I have played so far. It has never crashed once. It keeps providing delicious graphical surprises just when I thought I saw the same pattern one too many times. I haven’t had this much fun since playing Eternium. Well done! This game is not just eye candy though, you need to work out which gear will be effective for each encounter in order to receive achievable quests. The potions are tricky and could use improvement, it is unclear in which conditions they become available above the health bar, whether they stack etc.

Unique but Very Difficult Game Be Prepared to Pay. This is an incredible and unique game. It is the only first person shooter but with swords, battle axes, and maces I have ever come across. The storyline is interesting and the graphics are awesome. I love that you have a town you can rebuild. Now for the bad: I have played RPGs my whole life, especially D&D. This is nothing like that. For one, you are alone. When in combat or in a quest, you do not heal unless to have about 50 healing potions (5 or 10 is not enough), or can find rare scraps of food. There are no classes, like ranger, cleric, paladin, mage, etc. So, you are on your own and have almost no way to heal and will meet tough adversaries as you get higher in level and will lose. I am at level 28 and don’t know how I made it this far. Leveling is literally a slow painful process. You can’t dodge, all you can do is block and attack, and every attack must be a critical one, no other option. I think it is more geared to the very UNFAIR PvP arena, where you will be pitted against very much stronger, higher level players (you lose) or pitifully weak, lower level players (easy win). Whether you succeed or fail depends on luck of the draw and how fast you can hit. Forget spells and potions and abilities, they just slow you down while your opponent pummel you into the ground. A most frustrating game which is too bad because it is the only one of its kind. Don’t play this game unless you like to constantly lose.

Repetitive and unbalanced.. Having hit lvl 42, the game becomes and endless grind of two things. Dungeon and caves. The same creatures pounding on them till dead. While that may ok if there significant growth in the game after that but the gold reward cost is very low and the armor/weapon repair cost high. It will take over 300k gold to upgrade the smithy to the last level 10 but yet by the time I have completed 3-4 jobs, I would have only made a few hundred in gold. We can choose to not repair anything and go through the game with broken armor but then getting through a 3-5 * job becomes very difficult to survive. Reduce the repair cost significantly and open the game up to new undiscovered lands and then the rating would go up. It could be a fun game but right now it is not living up to its reputation as the Elderscrolls fame we’ve come to enjoy and support. Right now, the only thing I do is check in, get the free daily item and maybe do a challenge. After that, it’s not interesting anymore. Lastly, don’t let these rating fool you. Someone at Bethesda or somewhere else deleted a massive amount of 1* comments to make it appear that this game has overwhelming favor. It does not. Someone is hiding the fact that the game in its present form is boring and badly designed. It has potential but they have been slow to make it interesting.

An easy 5-star rating. At first I was concerned that I wasn’t going to like this game because I was sure it couldn’t possibly be like the Elder Scrolls games I’ve loved so much over the years, but I was very wrong to be concerned. While this is definitely the Elder Scrolls in a slightly different flavor that we’ve seen before, the solutions that have been found to creating an immersive, albeit simplified, gameplay are nothing short of elegant. I have found no significant glitches or pain points in terms of functionality, and find little to critique in the way of obstacles to my enjoying the full experience. I would admittedly love to be able to filter more specifically in the Sell/Salvage menus so that I could view only shields for instance. I would like to be able to more easily pinpoint those objects that I already have equipped in those menus as well. However, these are very minor issues and I think I only really notice them because I’m so used to Skyrim’s features, which include clearly highlighting the equipped objects. What I love is that this game breaks down questing to a really practical level. The quests are relatively quick to accomplish on the whole, but you can easily lose yourself for hours building your town. I also once switched mid-quest from my iPad to my iPhone and picked up in the exact spot where I left off on my other device, which I really appreciated.

Great game few complaints.. Movement is terrible and frustrating. Once you can figure out how to do it with the least confusion/running past things you need to pick up/into multiple enemies aggroing them simultaneously it’s ok tho. Difficulty rating is weird, I held off on a 5 skull quest for a long time Bc I wasn’t close to recommended level then I just did it and breezed through it 3 levels below rec. then I got a three skull quest after and just got annihilated over and over again. Sometimes you aggro a wisp/wolf/spider/skeever type enemy the wrong way and you just get stuck and have to die and restart Bc there’s no way to hit it. Not as customizable as I like. For instance if I really like the look of the full steel armor set a maxed out tempered steel set isn’t as good as lowest tier quicksilver or ebony or whatever wish the gap was bridged a bit better with that stuff. I love sword and board seems like two handed is op tho in certain situations like most Bethesda games. Wouldn’t scale back the two handed stuff but maybe give shield stuff couple more unique reasons to use them here and there. Also when you finish a quest you used to be able to explore, grab the chests and items you missed or still need to get them go back to the quest interface and click complete quest. That complete quest option has disappeared and you have to abandon now, I don’t know if you still get the rewards when you do this. Otherwise a very fun game.

Worse with every update. In December of last year this was a fun game... but it’s not anymore. Blades is a game where there is one way to play, and that is whatever way the devs like best. Want to be sneaky, well you can’t. Want to use a bow, well you can’t. Want to use light weapons? You can! But they are not fast enough that you get extra attacks out of them, and you can’t dual wield, so you just do less damage. Serves you right for trying to have fun your way instead of the “right way”! Recent changes to the magic system have made elemental attacks so powerful that unless you are wearing the exact right armor for the element you are being attacked with, you will be dead in 2-3 moves. Did I mention that even goblins can cast spells from multiple elemental schools? Yeah. You just need to wear all the “correct” sets of armor... at the same time. Which is impossible. Or! You could play a spell caster, which is currently the “correct “ way to play. Before that it was two handed weapons. Essentially, with every update, your real choices get stripped of meaning, and fun slowly dies. I used to love this game, I really did. But there is increasingly less focus on letting players try things, have fun, and play their game; and an ever narrower focus on forcing players to play the way they are told. I used to recommend this game to everyone. Now I can’t think of anyone who would enjoy it over the long haul.

Has promise but.... The good: Graphically this game doesn't disappoint. Controls are finally customizable, but incomplete. There needs to be additional options to hot swap weapons and quick use of poisons/potions. The initial story line is decent enough to keep you interested until ~level 30. I do like the town building feature, but I would also like some option for switching building positions. Overall game play fighting is fluid, even when playing in portrait or landscape. The bad: Does require a stable internet connection. If your phone switches to different wifi signals automatically, you'll need to re-sync. Typical P2W options, but not necessary for initial and mid game. The ugly: End game design needs thorough vetting. Gear repair costs escalate significantly, but gold accumulation from mobs or jobs falls well short of what's required to maintain gear. No option to disenchant gear to recoup some materials and try to re-enchant gear. High end materials for enchanting and crafting are only achievable by opening chests. Gear rewards for chests do not align with character level, especially for the top two chest options. As a result, the grind for decent end game gear is out of reach. End game design warrants skill tree focus on health management as a requirement, and therefore limits flexibility with how gear should be enchanted to maintain survivability.

Has potential. What can I say here, if you were looking for a good mobile game in the Elder Scrolls universe, this is it. It has its own story and adds new features which make it interesting. However there are some issues. The game crashes A LOT. There are some missions in which every single time you kill an enemy the game crashes, if you stand still for too long, crashes, even talking to some NPC’s triggers crashes. I get this game is not finished, but maybe focus on fixing the game before adding anything else. For example a mission to kill goblins which should take 5-10 minutes now takes 20-25 with about 10 crashes and restarts. Another thing is micro transactions. This game is in early access, but there are micro transactions, despite the game not even being close to finished. I don’t mind unobtrusive micro transactions in finished games, but they should not be in the game, at least in its current state. In conclusion, this game has some potential if it continues to be worked on, and may be one of the best new free games in the near future. However, that day is not today, and the devs need to work on the other issues surrounding the game before adding anything new. Right now the game is honestly a 3.5 when it works correctly. I recommend not downloading the game now however, give Bethesda a few months to sort out the issues and save yourself a lot of frustration.

Huge potential. So far, I’m really enjoying this game. The combat is unique, way different from what I would have ever expected. It’s a really good surprise. I like the combat a lot, and since this is a mobile game, it makes it easy to use, so it’s not overwhelming you just trying to get one hit in like some other games I have played. Story isn’t too engaging just yet, but I’m only level 9 as of writing this. The chest unlocking feature, I’ve seen this a lot and I quite frankly enjoy opening silver chests, since they’re worth they hour long wait. Gold chests are also exciting to open. Wooden chests almost always have resources I badly need to build up my town. When I get new items, I’m actually just constantly checking if stuff gets easier so I can have more of a challenge, and progress in this good game. Building up a town to unlock missions is a way to make you prepared for other missions and an easy way to add new characters into the story, so as you develop your city, so does the story. This is a great idea, glad you did it. Great mobile game, easy to learn how to play and what you do, and it’s really fun. Okay, a big thing that I think can change is the quest system. So far it’s just repeating the same thing, but in different areas for slightly different reasons, over and over for progress in the game. I guess that’s not so bad, so keep up the good work.

Perfect for mobile. I've played this for awhile now. I also read all the reviews where people are saying is boring or hard around level 9. Here's the deal, this game is awesome if played correctly I'm currently level 24, with my town about level 7 ( just a bit under ), I don't know if people are not building their towns up, but that actually expands the game, brings in new missions, upgrading shops gives better options to craft or buy with in game currency. Early on when things are easy upgrade your inventory slots and chest capacity with the free premium gems they give you ( I get a lot free fighting in the dungeons) I have over 700 now, never bought anything. Time your chest timers around your work day, open gold while you sleep, never run into waiting issues. As far as combat and complaining about dying, here's a tip get the healing dodge and upgrade it, choose your talents and perks wisely, craft health absorbing armor and jewelry, with the right loadout, and proper potion planning, no quest is too difficult, the challenging ones are harder because they're supposed to be, you'll have a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when they drop a free legendary chest on you. I'm level 24, all eleven gear, rings and necklace, usually have 15-20 various chests to cycle through, over 700 premium gems saved up from free drops, haven't spent a dime of real life currency. Play smart play often, this is an unbelievable free offering from the elder scrolls franchise!!!!

Engaging Tablet game. Blades is one of the prettiest made for tablet games on the market today, with great graphics and a real adventuresome feeling world that runs remarkably smoothly on lower end systems. It covers basic classic rpg tropes. You are an ex-Blade hero helping others and trying to save and rebuild a town. You battle trolls, bandits, goblin and various undead and animals and do a lot of loot collecting to arm yourself and find materials to rebuild your town as you see fit. The game is a mixed bag, in that while what the game has looks and feels great, it lacks much in the way of freedom to explore, (it’s all limited maze like caves and paths), and your feelings of accomplishment are marred by the fact that stuff grows stronger as you do. There is a strong feeling of gambling as you open chests, and the temptation to buy the supplies you need to advance is very strong- though, if you don’t mind lots and lots and LOTS of adventuring, it seems like one could someday, eventually, maybe succeed without buying anything, maybe. All in all. I’ve found it the best time passer of any tablet style game out there- though it is not up to what you find in real PC rpg style games. It’s very passable and pretty fun, and the city building is very nicely handled. No personal home, nor chests you can store stuff in, though. It also could stand sneaking and ranged weapons of some sort- but, it’s great if you don’t mind that games limitations.

Limited. I’ve been a fan of the Elder Scrolls since the 90’s, and i am so sorry that I don’t have better things to say about this game. The graphics are beautiful, but the game play is limited. Movement is limited. You can’t run, jump, climb, fly, swim, or go outside the limited fixed paths. You must fix up a town that no one will ever see. The town is small and there is only one. You can’t leave your town and explore the world. You never journey anywhere. There are no maps. You can’t make your own house or go inside any buildings. There is little to no freedom or creativity. The players still don’t talk. The dialog is prescribed. The quests are limited. My battles the first day are just like my battles after 21 levels. The same monsters are just harder to fight, so all my extra armor, better skills, magic weapons are all nullified. It does offer some variety in the way you can fight an opponent and you can develop a little more skill when fighting. But you can’t run away from an opponent, use any of the environment to your advantage, use any sort of missile weapon, sneak up on an opponent, or have any other outcome than either you die or they die. I’m saddened that I game isn’t more fun to play; I really wanted it to be great. It’s a fraction of the same old game and not as fun.

High potential wasted by timers and bottlenecks. The game has potential but the way it is designed to bottleneck players with egregious timers is insane... imagine Skyrim with a less compelling world, very basic and boring story, basic combat, very basic and repetitive level design, and most importantly TIMERS that are all over the game and ruin the experience (e.g. you got a good chest reward from a quest and want to open it? Good luck waiting hours until the chest opening timer finishes so you can finally be rewarded with the chest’s contents; you asked the blacksmith to craft you a piece of armor? Good luck waiting until the timer finishes; you want to build a building to improve your city? TIMERS; You want to craft potions? TIMERS; Enchant gear? TIMERS. Et cetera). The way I see it, Bethesda puts the gamer between a rock and a hard place because you can either NOT purchase their expensive currency and suffer, OR you buy the overpriced currency and speed up the timers. Those timers ultimately left me with a feeling of "I’m not willing to invest a year of my time to get through all of this content due to the bottlenecking timers that are delaying me; it would just make me feel like I wasted a year of my life for a very unrewarding experience". Give it a try if you want but personally, I said "hard pass” after a little over a week.

Entertaining and fun, but money grab. This is a fun RPG for mobile but this game will just about force the player into spending actual money to continue your positive experience. I’m level 25 and I have had no issues, up until this point. After playing for about 2 weeks, I’ve noticed my chest stash is continuously building up. I cannot keep up with the gold chests and silver chest, to the point where I no long have room for more chest that I find in quests. I have even spent premium gems to increase chest stash size, but the amount of chests continue to grow. I have 16 golden chests and 14 silver chests. How am I supposed to open all the gold chests and open up slots for new chests? Each gold chests requires 6 hours to open: 14 x 6 = 84 hours. That’s over 3 days folks, and that’s assuming one would begin unlocking a chest immediately after one has been open, but that is unreasonable. Add in the silver chests and it’s over 4 days. If I continue playing, I will consistently have to stop playing quests and completely focus on opening chests for 3 to 4 days at a time to clear my chest cache... watching a timer is not fun. Why can’t we choose to delete chests? Deleting a chest should be a no-brainer and should be a decision that the player makes. It would be even better if we could sell them but again, this is a strategic money grab to force the player into opening these.

Only playing because I don’t have Skyrim anymore.. This app is alright, it’s kinda nice to have something similar to Skyrim right on my phone. (I don’t have a ps4 anymore) However I think they need to add a few things to make it perfect. First of all, I get so irritated because of how hard it is to acquire health potions. I only have one alchemist’s shop right now and it’s annoying that they only carry one potion at a time. It takes way too long to get missions done b/c of this, cause you literally struggle to survive. And your gems run out so fast, it’s hard to even buy some that way. (I don’t have actual money to spend on this app) Second, I was really disappointed when I figured out that you can explore outside of the town like in other games. You can only do that if you’re on a mission and I can’t stand it. You feel so confined. I get that it’s mobile so you won’t get much but that’s really limiting the apps potential. And lastly, again, the exploration is so limited. You can’t even go into buildings that are within your city! I’m not extremely far in the game and I know there’s a lot to unlock but the fact that I can’t go into the buildings I create is pretty dumb. Don’t get me wrong this is a fun pastime, but don’t get your expectations too high.

Fantastic, fantastic!!!. I played for a month before writing this review because I understand it is still a beta release, Blades, in my opinion is by far the best game on a cellphone and trust me that I should be a critic I have played and deleted thousands of games. With all that being said Blades has amazing graphics that I would expect on a console, the gameplay is amazingly polished especially because you can tell they are improving it daily, when I first started Blades would shut down or freeze every so often (once a day) and now I cannot remember the last time that has happened. The pace of the game seems perfect to me as some days I don’t have as much time I will open the treasure chests and construct new buildings in my city and on the days I want to grind for gold, material or weapons etc etc... Blades surely lets me decide my own pace. I believe Bethesda is by far the best game developing company ever to make games so this is not a impartial review, I already knew I would love this game as I have from everything they have ever released. So far the only thing I would like added to Blades is the ability to change between first person and third person as so many of Bethesda games have done in the past, it is amazing that this game is free because I dropped many other games off of my phone, Blades is all I need. Thank you Bethesda and also a thanks goes out to whoever read this book I just wrote.

Visually appealing, but a disappointing cash grab. Like others have noted, the visuals and controls are very appealing, especially for a mobile game. Unfortunately, the game mechanics are clearly skewed to “encourage” the player to spend an ever increasing amount of real money. Yes, you can play slowly and collect the daily rewards without spending money, but that method basically breaks the game’s experience and enjoyment - especially after level 12 or 15, when the damage taken, and the cost of repairs (and health potions, and resurrection scrolls, and ingredients, and structure building), greatly exceeds the amount of gold or gems that you get for a quest or job. It’s a more elegant and refined version of the recent “loot box” problem. For context, I have played Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim for about 25 years now - and I was eagerly awaiting the next iteration. I would have easily paid $20~$30 for Blades as a means to support the developers. However, this current “free” version is a hot mess of a cash grab, and it has seriously made me rethink whether or not I will purchase the next Elder Scrolls game when it is released. Edit for the recent update: This ‘game’ is even more of a cash grab than it was before. The Sigil levels are designed to burn through your health and elemental potions, costly repairs, and have you spend even more money. (Editing review to see Dev response)

My New Favorite Game!. Once you play enough RPG games that involve building a town/base and performing quests/missions you start to feel like you’re playing the same game over and over again with a slightly different theme. They all have similar character pov and controls. This game broke that rut for me. It’s beautifully rendered and pulls you right into another world. There’s plenty to keep you busy beyond the usual daily tasks with crafting, enchanting, sparring, and exploring the abyss. The storyline is multilayered and keeps you interested in what’s going on in this world. As a professional artist of over 20 years I can appreciate the attention to detail in the rendering of every aspect of the game. I find myself examining the weapons and items in 3d to inspire me in my own work. Sometimes I just wander around my town like a tourist enjoying the fountains and trees that decorate it. So far I’ve played for several weeks, advancing through the levels and quests at a good pace without spending a penny (sorry devs, I don’t have a lot of disposable income) in the store. The game rewards you generously with gold, gems and chests that keep you well equipped to move forward. If you’ve got the money to spend there’s some amazing offers in the store that I’m sure would add to your gaming experience. This is the first time that I have ever written a review for a game with this much to say. Blades is so good that it deserved the time and effort to send some love to the creators!

Elder Scrolls: Blades (Where you star as ‘The Problem Solver’). {Spoiler Alert} [Almost There] If I could address your character as something other than the Blade, it would ‘The Problem Solver’; as you do almost everything to rebuild the town, Rivercrest. This game is fun for those who have played previous Elder Scrolls games and doesn’t have the time or means to play the Online Game. I’m not bashing ESO, it’s just the WiFi in my area makes it difficult as well as my personal unwillingness to meet stranger players online. As for this game, I find it best to play with a portable charger plugged into my phone. The game does consume the battery; but so does other great app games. Like other great app games, the developers improve the software overtime. I remember when I had to wait hours to have a Silver or Gold Chest unlocked. Now, it opens in an instant. My only complaint is the lack of Archery. Of course, you don’t use a bow to fight someone standing right in front of you. My suggestion for combat would be that you get an alert when an opponent sees you, which gives you the option to shoot one arrow the opponent as they approach you (which would weaken them before combat starts). If Archery is deemed impossible for the game, then perhaps instead you get a window of opportunity to cast an aggressive spell at the opponent or a defensive spell on yourself as a ‘prebuff’. Anyway, I give this game four out of five stars because I like to think this game has room for improvement.

An amazing game for mobile players, but there’s one minor problem. Whenever I go into the arena, there’s a random chance of any players, so I could go up against a level 40 or higher, which has happened, while I’m only about level 17 right now, or go up against a level 5 or 10. It is kind of unfair for anyone, and I might sound a little spoiled or entitled, but if you are able to make it so that you go up against someone whose similar to your stats, you could really see who the better player in pvp is. If that seems a little impossible, or hard, no offense, then could you do it so you lose less trophies if the opponent is at a much higher level? Or you could like make different arenas/sections according to your trophy amount, so people with similar amounts of trophies can battle each other. But for now, I’ll just hope for the best in getting good or decent players. But moving away from the arena, this game is very fun and exciting. The lore behind this seems really well constructed, and people who like games like these can really easily dive into the thrill and joy the game has to offer.

Fix it. This game has great potential but it’s not there yet , I have been playing a couple of days now and I’ve noticed that it’s very hard to continue with out paying money as far as graphics go it’s wonderful but it still lags and glitches a lot , the thing that bothers me is that I was on a level that 4/5 skill and that’s not that hard but I killed 4 troll who had hit/attacked a lot more than the last but even though I have a full bar of health I some how die from two hits?, not to mention almost every time I tried to hit a button to use my magic or my abilities it wouldn’t let me , the game has so much potential but what bothers me is you have to pay to win . The features I wish they would add are some of the simple ones that I think would make a really big difference and let the player enjoy the game more , like being able to carry around food that would be awesome one level I only had two things to eat and ultimately ended up losing , I wish you could find more building materials sometimes if I’m luck I could get like 3 maybe 4 on a quest or job , I also feel they could maybe allow followers that would be cool but this game has a lot of potential. Thanks for making a game like this for the phone but I hope to see you improve it in the future I wouldn’t mind if you had to pay like 10 bucks for a full game like Skyrim kinda rather than pay like 100+ to get what I need to complete a level then ultimately pay more plus some in the future.

Fine but needs work. The game so far is enjoyable, though it is annoying how my chest inventory is filled with silver chests that stop me from playing nonstop but I understand why it is that way (make it a litter more time consuming to get the better stuff out of them). I would really appreciate a quicker way to switch weapons out in the middle of battle rather than navigate through 4 screens. I would also appreciate being able to easily choose the order the abilities and spells show on the combat screen, as once I grow use to it being one way if I switch out a skill it will completely mess up the order so instead of healing I use poison on the skeletons. I understand that it is an early access so I do not expect everything to be perfect. I would also appreciate a way to figure out the enemies weaknesses more easily even if it is just navigating through the help log to find it in the middle of combat (instead of learning about them in the quick screen transitions). I would also appreciate some of the smaller things explained in the help log, like when you enchant something you may get a bonus or two abilities. Just some ideas to help the experience.

Great start. I think its fun and it's got potential. Obviously right now there's not a lot of variety and some parts are pretty unbalanced, but it looks beautiful and reminds me of the console games without just trying to copy them (although i was a little sad the bears weren't tougher). I think y'all did a great job so far, and here's just a few more specific suggestions I hope y'all consider: 1. Quick weapon/shield swap button in combat. Considering the dungeons currently consist entirely of walking up to enemies and fighting them one on one, the fact that in challenging missions you often need to open up the menu to optimize your loadout for every other battle is kind of a pain. Eg, the way most crypt levels are all wights and skeletons, which have the exact opposite resistance/weakness. Does it remind me of the console games? Yeah. Is it still annoying? Yeah. A button in the corner to quick swap your loadout would be awesome. 2. Library or something. I'm sure y'all are working on lots more buildings already, but i'd just like to suggest that one hold the information on enemy weaknesses, resistances, abilities etc. It's just confusing to try to remember the tips. You could even make it quest based, like the researcher guy says go kill 10 wights and he'll add them to the library or whatever. Just an idea to add more variety to the town and help the player keep track of all the game elements.

Game review a plus. I didn’t see a lot of marketing for this game but over all the graphics are great. Combat wise it general but the different things you can do make it interesting. Spells, different weapons, different armor, abilities, and 3 a skills trees (spells, perks, and abilities). I haven’t gone through a lot of the story but so fare it seems interesting and holds me into the game. My only dislike is the time it takes for treasure chests to open. 5seconds for wood chest, 1hr for silver, 6hrs for gold. There are 2 more chests that I have yet to get but I can assure you it’s a much longer time frame. I’m used to games where the vendor has unlimited money to buy my vendor trash but these don’t. They have a limited amount that increases when you purchase items, over time, or an upgrade. I enjoy building my own town in addition to the customizing with added features. It just gets more expensive and material needy the higher your town prestige gets. This is of course a free to play game with in-app purchases but it is not a pay to win. I’m currently at level 23 and have yet to spend a dime of real-world currency. I would enjoy this game even more if they would just change the vendor buys and the timer on the chests.

Elder scrolls on the go. First I have played this game since early release , I have not spent a dime of real money and have made it to level 13. The latest update gives gems that you could purchase for easy jobs to complete. This game is simple and fun to play. The controls are easy , one hand tap to go or landscape mode with virtual joysticks. The combat is a simple tap and release timing mechanic that still makes the fights challenging and fun. The quest are a bit repetitive in the job section with easy collecting missions and the enemies seem to be a bit tougher then the mission rates. You are punished for missing a block with low health. However once you access the alchemy shop you can brew potions at a cheap rate. The update made jobs more worthy with bigger rewards for completing. Weapons and armor offer different enchantments and stats that affect enemies differently depending on the type. If you have played any elder scrolls games this is exactly what you could expect for a mobile version. There is even a hometown that you rebuild and add different shops and housing for population growth. The game overall is simple and easy, it picks up wherever you left off after you close your phone and definitely gets you through a bored moment. Worth the download

Repetitive dungeon looting, slow advancement. Let’s start positive. The game looks great and plays well on my phone. The enemies are diverse and their resistances/weaknesses make them interesting. Fighting is pretty smooth as well. I liked what I have seen of the storyline. But...I found this game underwhelming. I was hoping for another Morrowind or Skyrim experience, but this is not it. I am a longtime Elder scrolls fan and would gladly pay for another RPG, but the freemium model gets very frustrating, very quickly. I soon hit a point where I was too weak to continue the main quest, and my chest allotment was full. Looting without gaining chests costs more in item repairs than you gain. My options were put the game down or pay. I put it down... for a month. I just got back in out of boredom, but I’m in the same boring spot. Other complaints: the dungeons are very, very repetitive, you have to complete quests in one go and they often backload the difficult enemies. It’s frustrating to spend 10 minutes on a quest and have to repeat it from the start. After a few attempts, it makes you wonder if you’re spending your time wisely. You can sell items to vendors for one-fifteenth of what you buy them for. Basically, my interest ran out of steam because I was not advancing my character enough. I’m still an Elder Scrolls fan and eagerly await their next non-freemium game.

This is AMAZING!!. To tell you the truth I was pretty skeptical when I saw it because I thought it was going to nothing compared to the trailer but it’s even BETTER. At first I was like oh I see it’s one of those crappy games but I still downloaded it and i said to myself the voices and main menu or surprisingly good then I started getting into the game play and I loved it so much I literally downloaded it like 2 hours ago. But I do have some suggestions first I would like maybe a little bit more simpler to understand what the creatures are like maybe when you see a new one it will like freeze on that monster or just anything new that you encounter and like show it’s name but other wise it’s fine to me notify me if you are going to take this into consideration. And also I don’t know if your still gonna update this game but I would say add a online multiplayer where you cans trade goods and stuff and really just to chat oh and chat system it would be good if you could type chat or mic chat but I have one more idea we’ll before I tell it if you do read this it’s ok if you say no but it would really make my day cause I’m so exited and I’ve never been contacted or gave my ideas to and game company but your probably one of my favorite game company’s on my phone oh and I was also going to ask is there and elder scrolls blade or just any elder scrolls on Ps4 and if there is notify me please. Overall thanks Bethesda 👍🏻👌🏻🤜🏻🤛🏾🙏🏼🧑🏼‍💻

Amazing Game!. I am so glad this game popped up in ads online a few weeks ago. I have always been a huge fan of the computer and Xbox Elder Scrolls series. I thought since it was mobile that it may be a disappointment, BUT I absolutely love it. Amazing graphics for mobile, a nice storyline, it’s just like the other versions. I just defeated the Lich king or whatever and saved my city. I hope something new comes up in the storyline soon as now I only have small side mission quests to do from the board, which is completely repetitive. Perhaps when I fill up more empty slots in my city, more quests will pop up. We will see. People who complain about this being a p2p game are very impatient and/or unknowledgable. I am level 36 and for the most part getting there was f2p and without difficulty. I got some revival scrolls in the beginning levels, but that was with gems given to me in the game for free. Eventually I thought I might need a lot of gems or something later on and bought a cheat at a great deal with gems and revival scrolls that was 100 usd for only 20 usd. And guess what? I still haven’t even used those gems yet because it has so far been unnecessary. And only a handful of those scrolls which also one don’t really need although convenient. This is practically pretty much a f2p game. Those who complain it isn’t are probably (hopefully) kids who are impatient or don’t study all the parts to the game to see how to accomplish without paying.

Beautiful money pit. I am at level 36, so have spent time and money on this game. It is fun and frustrating. Game play is good, I like the way you can combine spells and weapons play. Graphics are beautiful. It is worth just looking around in the game. The money pit is subtle. It is hard to find or buy the ingredients for health potions and they are rare in chests. Healing skills are not easy to use, and unless you only do easy quests and jobs, you will need health potions, lots of them. Many jobs are over your level. With health potions you can tackle them, but without them you can only handle the lower level jobs. At this point, I have spent serious money on the game and still have a stack of jobs too difficult for my character. You can buy missing ingredients with gems and you can buy gems with real money. You will eventually have to spend money, lots of it, to challenge yourself. A smaller frustration is you cannot use even high level two handed weapons on enemies near your level. Neither the two handed weapon, nor your spells will offer sufficient defense. Another frustration is the merchants never seem to have enough gold to buy the loot you don’t need, and if you sell low level supplies, you will have a really tough time finding them later on. This means you need a large pack. You can increase your pack size with skill points or gems. You will get a few gems in the game, but not as many as you need. Best phone game around, but expensive.

Strong Start. Currently this game is in Early Access as I write this review. As a long time fan of the Elder Scrolls series I had my guard up when starting this game. It’s not an open-world as you might expect. It’s quite linear where you have to upgrade your town after it’s been destroyed and you do this by completing quests and jobs to collect gold, materials, and equipment for your character. So it has all of the basic RPG elements. The reason why I have given it five stars is because of how well the system works on a mobile game. Most mobile games are terrible in my opinion and this one has quality. There are the options to open up chests quicker and have more inventory slots and gold by paying real money, but you don’t feel as if you have to pay real money to actually progress and enjoy the game. Just be patient. The graphics are truly incredible for a mobile game and the ability to seamlessly switch from portrait to landscape mode and have the game keep up is impressive. I do wish there was more variety to the dungeon layouts as well as to the settings for the dungeons. Such as having open layouts where you don’t feel like you’re going in such a linear path and I think it would give it more of an “open world” feel.

Quality Mobile/Elderscrolls Game. Most mobile games these days are swarmed with ads, especially the free games, but this one has ZERO ads. You don’t appreciate that until you go to play something else that’s free. For the game as a whole, I’ve played it since it first released on beta, and they’ve done a stellar job from: progression, customization, story telling, to its combat. The combat is very unique to the series but it works quite well once you get the hang of it. With the blatant showing of enemy weaknesses, it’s pretty easy to win a fight if you just have the right equipment. The story is unique and worth going through in my opinion, and gives you some powerful rewards in the end! Customization is insane and much great than I ever expected, they have every armor set from Skyrim(except bonemold I think, but I’m over it). Progression feels fast and not “grindy”. You feel like doing quests actually does something for your character which is always a benefit and is what several games like this lack. Plus with the added pvp and the growing of clans this game can get very big. I think with time and some more patches, this game will exceed a 10/10 rating. I mean it’s free, what do you have to lose from trying it?

My thoughts. My thoughts on the game are pretty simple, it looks nice for a Mobile game but don’t let the lies about console graphics taint your head. The controls are annoying and bug out all the time and reminds me of a VR setup (probs what it was meant to be then VR fell off the face of the planet), combat is ok at best. It’s two side attacks and those bug out when the screen is cluttered with buttons. The shield will be hit every so often and thus ruin your attack and the opponent will wail on you draining your health. The health pistons do all but heal. But you won’t need them till you hit the lvl 10 wall that is solved by playing sim city for 2 seconds. Money isn’t an issue as the lvl 2 quest will give you 450 for completing the quest and you’ll find 700 just doing it and items sell for that easy. The materials you need for building are uncommon but just rinse and repeat till you get your desired amount of copper. The combat would be better if it were just the slashing of Skyrim. It’s a good game regardless on on bug issue and a few small ones. If I were to add anything I’d add a co-op dungeon system and give it Skyrim combat controls. I’d make it scaled to the amount of players and their combined lvls as to prevent isolation of single players and low lvls.

A pretty money pit. Without spending money, you’ll progress slowly in this game. My typical experience is dungeons will give you about 1500 gold and cost 2000 gold in repairs on your armor and weapons – logging in daily for free handouts will offset this if you were happy only actually play once a week., Materials are rarely available at vendors – upgrading vendors upgrades their materials but they stop selling the ‘older/common’ stuff when in fact they should have more of that stuff - which you need for tempering/enhancing your armor and weapons... The game will actually punish you if you upgrade your town past what your current level is in terms of the armor and weapons you would like to forge or upgrade. I hope this gets fixed. The other option is spending gems for materials you can’t really farm, can’t buy from vendors, and only drop rarely during play – pay to win(ish). It’s a beta game; I hope they rebalance it so that paying to win is an option but not a requirement; right now it pretty much is a requirement. Biggest gripe: vendors that are upgraded offer better stuff in terms of weapons, armor, potions, materials; they need to continue to offer even more of the older stuff that they originally sold. Having to use gems to pay for Dwarven ingots because my blacksmith only sells ebony is ridiculous.

Meh. First off I just want to say that I’m a huge fan of Bethesda I played my far share of there games fallout elder scrolls and others games but when it comes to mobile games I’m not really happy with I got out of this game when I first got or shall I say launched of the App Store I could hardly even log in but years later here I am finally able to play this game and let me tell you the game is fun really fun and at time a at lest to me it kinda feels like I’m actually playing it on Xbox and I get a reality check ever once in a while haha but back on track there’s lots of good things about this games but there is a lot of bad things whit this game as well for example the dungeons are fantastic the amount of detail and graphics in to them are awesome and the combat can get a little bit frustrating but there are way to spice it up and some of the quest are responsible at a certain level I could go on abut what makes the game good but I must point out what makes me give this game a three star instead of a five star for example some of the quest you’ll find your self doing can be quit repetitive at time and the pieces in the shop is absolutely ridiculous and I’m not sure if this has happened to other people but I’ll be in the middle of a quest and out of the middle of now where the app kicks me losing Avery thing I worked for now I’m I telling to completely stay away form this game no but the game definitely need improvements

Needs Changes!. I’ve been wanting to review this for a while, and after months of playing it, here I am. Love the characters, the story, the scenery. Except where’s the scenery? No matter what mission you get, there are a couple basic places you visit. A forest. A dungeon. A cave. There is not much different here and it gets boring during missions. I enjoy the game, but this is a little annoying. I get it, it’s a mobile game, not an Xbox game, so it’s not as immersive. But still. There’s the issue of difficulty as well. I’ve found myself so mad at this game that I wanted to throw my phone. Im leveled up with lots of experience points, yet nearly every mission is impossible to play. Not difficult, but impossible. Health does not renew on its own, and trying to be stocked with potions is impossible unless you have the money to drop $10 on a health pack. Well, I don’t have that kind of money. So I lose, and lose, and lose. I want to love this game, I really do, but it’s infuriating. Bethesda, please make some changes. Make missions possible to actually win. Is that too much to ask for? And before you ask, it’s not a lack of proper gear. I have high armor and weapons but it still means nothing.

Still busted. This game has been busted since it was released and for many reasons. The combat has never worked and combat is the center point of the game. Enemies can stun you with their shield no matter how early they block. Which doesn’t work for the player. What’s the point of having a versatile weapon if it swings as slow as the heavy weapons. No weapon swings fast enough to hit the enemy before they bring up their shield. You can’t play offensively because the enemy will just stun lock you. They haven’t been adding more quests. All they have added is rooms filled with a bunch of enemies and change their vulnerabilities/strengths and call it a new quest. There haven’t been unique quests added since launch. And even playing more than one of the new quest types means you have to completely change your play style. Which would be fine if that just meant you change your control of your character. But it doesn’t. It forces you to have completely different sets of equipment. Not everyone wants to grind their life away playing the game. Some just want to hop on and play a little without feeling like there is nothing available unless they grind. The enchanting system doesn’t always enchant according to the stated stats. The town leveling up system doesn’t let you level up at the tail end of level nine. Players commonly have to scrap buildings and rebuild over and over again to continue. The most scarce material for building is copper and they won’t let you buy it with gems.

A little disappointed. This game is actually pretty good and very pretty. The combat is actually a little less clunky than Skyrim somehow, but also really slow. I know it’s a mobile game so I’m willing to forgive that, but you can’t move while you fight, which I don’t fully understand. The reason I’m only giving this 3 stars is the network issues. You’d think that Bethesda would have learned from fallout 76 that a always connected game is garbage, but it is mobile and therefore a cash grab. They always want to offer you things in the store, even during single player quests, so you always have to be connected. I have a few spots I like to play games that don’t have the best connection, like the subway and I can’t play this one at all. I miss my gameboy, where the whole game was right there to play and enjoy, we just don’t get that anymore because of online shops. It’s just sad because this could be a really fun game, but I’ll probably get bored with all the waiting for loading so I’m probably not going to bother spending anything on it. All the stuff you buy is just for materials and gear that you could get from rewards for the quests, but you can’t do the quests unless you have a great connection. I even got dropped from a quest because of a weak connection and lost 5 gems (the premium currency). Give me an offline mode and I’ll probably continue playing. At least there are no ads.

It’s started off great but... I’m a huge fan of elder scrolls, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this game available. I waited to play the game some before giving it a review. Firstly the controls lag here and there throughout the game which can get pretty frustrating. Like when I break a pot and go to collect the stuff, when I tap on it, it makes me walk away. So I’m constantly having to go back to collect it. Second when I am fighting a enemy, it lags to strike sometimes, therefore I take hits and then end up dying. Third thing that is annoying in the game is the job posting. The main story line requires a certain level & 9/10 you’re not going to be at that level, so there’s job postings that you can complete to level up, so you can do the story line. The problem is the job posted are higher than your character’s level also, and you rarely ever get a job posting that is you characters level to complete it. So therefore you come to basically a stand still in the game. You can’t level up because you can hardly get jobs that are your characters level and you can’t complete the main story line because your character isn’t strong enough. The good things though in this game, it is easy to get gems and I guess you could slowly level up by doing the abyss tower. But it would be better if you would actually get jobs that are in your level of area more often.

So close to what the customers want!. Hey there! I just wanted to say great job on this game! It is really fun and I love playing it! I love how you can build and create the town and interact with the people! It makes me happy to know it has the Skyrim feel too it. There are just a few things that are missing I feel like. I love Skyrim and am a big fan, but Blades is just missing the free roaming style to it. It gets kind of annoying sometimes doing the quests and seeing the same scenery or same cave each time. I want to roam and explore! Also I noticed that all the enemies are friends to each other except for the main character. Like seeing bears chillin next to goblins just seems weird ya know? I feel like the goblins would typically avoid the bears or at least fight back? And vice versa. Also I’m starting to notice that even on level easy quests, the bosses all of a sudden can kill you in like 3 hits! What’s up with that! And then you have to use a scroll of revive or pay 25 gems. I’m starting to feel it’s a little cheap on that part and I don’t want to have to pay for gems all the time. My only requests are that you notice some of those tings and fix them please and then maybe make the game more free roaming. Add more freedom to it like the other Elder Scrolls games and I think you would find more customers and attention to your game because the fans would find it more enjoyable! Thanks so much!

It’s good but lacking.... Good graphics, story, menu interface and maps and a really fun concept. This game has considerable time and effort put into it and it’s good. My one large complaint with this game, and the reason I gave it only three stars, is that the UI when fighting and moving is not good, it’s not terrible but it’s not great. The joystick movement is slow and a bit clunky, and the camera feels very zoomed in, a game like Pascals Wager, PUBG or Critical Ops are the kind of joystick and combat controls that work best, they are receptive, easy to use and the general standard for mobile games. These exemplar game control systems have the best alignment for mobile gaming. I understand that the slashing mechanic of this game and static combat is meant to be it’s own idea but to be honest I don’t enjoy it, moving, dynamic combat would be better, just like In games like Pascals Wager. Dynamic combat like that opens up multiplayer options, more then just one on one combat and a better experience. The movement controls tie into this, there is odd sensitivity and movement on the touch controls, buttons in odd places. I’m not going to go in depth into the exact specifications of what kind of changes to the touch controls I am talking about would be but my example good UI games listed above are the best example of what I mean. Some probably don’t share my opinion but as an experienced mobile gamer this is what I think.

Started of great... now, not so much.. Up until level 20 I was having a blast. But since reaching that level the monsters have become extremely overpowered and I am unable to complete any job without dying halfway through. The time it takes to gather materials to level up buildings is taking up to a week which is just silly for a mobile game. Trolls are almost impossible to kill, along with the large spiders and their relentless attacks. I know you recently fixed the difficulty spikes but everything is still way to strong. If these issues were to be fixed I think the game could be great. Please fix these issues as I don’t want to have to delete the game.

A New Elder Scroll Experience. While it’s not the next Elder Scroll 6, it’s definitely the next step in the right direction. Despite it being a model game, The Elder Scrolls Blades offers real-time combat, dungeon exploration and even a new city-building mechanic like that of Fallout Shelter. However it’s not all sun shine and rainbows with a few minor issues, such as the combat feels clunky at times and sometimes it won’t even register your swipe when you attack your enemy. (Remember though, this is still an early access, so it may change) This is a small inconvenience but definitely not one that ruins your overall experience. Hell, even the looting system is above decent compared to most mobile games with a good balance of gameplay and grinding for quest rewards. Overall, Bethesda has done very well and gave me an amazing experience with its own unique story-line and old enemies from previous Elder Scroll games.

Decent mobile game. Elder scrolls blades is about as good as mobile games get. The controls aren’t that bad and it’s quite impressive for a mobile game. The quests aren’t that good and the story isn’t either. I have one problem. I logged in this morning and all my progress had reset, hours of gameplay. Overall, this game is ok, and does anyone know how to get my progress back?

HOOKED. ...and right from the beginning! This game is the best use of free time ever! From storyline to combat, the game is perfect. Also I liked the movement system and it’s unique, no inconvenient joysticks, just tapping! And it’s no choose your class game, it’s choose your race! I chose that cat person cause, well.. cats... I know you need to be super successful for that but I hope you’ll expand expand your gaming empire, maybe even a series! (Like Pokémon or sonic the hedgehog). Favourite game so far

Awesome. This game is awesome! I’m so happy Bethesda have decided to make it. I play on my phone and I get lost in the game even on such a small screen then I play on my iPad and it’s even better. I really hope they continue to work on the game make it even better. Would love for it to become open world like the pervious titles. Can’t recommend it enough.

Not sure. The game looks great, plays really well, however the touch mechanics are a little clunky. During the fights the touch controls translate better than expected, though the interaction area appears to be a little tight. The game is set in a sort of dungeon crawler format with the ability to collect resources to rebuild your town, giving way to a town building mode. There is a mode called “Abyss” which has you going through a dungeon level by level defeating enemies for rewards, but uses the same rooms from all the other dungeons (there appears to be maybe 5 or 6 in total) as well as a “Arena” mode in the works, for what I assume is PVP content. The dungeons themselves are very repetitive, however it is still early days so this may change. To upgrade your armour you need to upgrade buildings in your town, which can be very time consuming and monotonous as the levels get very repetitive, and the quests are the same tasks over and over again with their rewards being rather small. As such rebuilding the town, and progression in the game is slow. All in all, it’s great to see elder scrolls on IOS even if it comes with the bad taste of “Early Access”. For a free game, it’s worth the time to download. But keep in mind it still needs a lot of polishing and at this stage at least, there isn’t a lot of content.

Pay to win. I’ve played about 30 minutes so far and already I can see it is clearly a pay to win game. Buying gems to unlock chests. Gem bags with decent amount of gems being more than a AAA rated game on a console. Overall for a game on a mobile device it is well developed. The graphics are good, the controls are good once you get used to it. They have put in just enough to make it feel like elder scrolls but left out the tedious part that would make it hard to play on a mobile device. I played it on the 10.5 iPad Pro. My battery drained fairly quickly. So I doubt you could play it for long on a phone. For now I’ll continue to play put if the pay to win tightens the gameplay, I’ll stop. I would prefer it, if Bethesda just charged a one off amount for a compete open game. I would happily pay $50 outright.

My account got deleted.. SO. I have had this game for about more than a week now and played it a lot. One day I went and I forgot to press the home button to exit the game and turned off my device. The next day when I went back into the game it disconnected due to session timing out or something, so it then started reloading the it took 15 minutes and it still didn’t load, so I closed the tab and refreshed the game. When I went back into the game, it had wiped all my data and I have no idea how to retrieve it. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS ISSUE BECAUSE MY ACCOUNT WAS LOST FOR NO REASON! I’m sure the devs are trying their best to improve the game as it is still in early access, but this issue cannot be ignored.

Great fun. Overall great mobile game, pretty enjoyable and able to spend quite a bit of time on it, it’s not necessary to pay for anything as you can earn gems in game anyway, can be annoying when the game suddenly crashes tho (iPhone 8 user) I think if they put in an option for a constant joystick I’d enjoy it better as it doesn’t always register you finger movement.

Finally my favourite game came to iOS. Been playing for two days now on iPad Air2 Was a bit hard to adapt to system but once you used to it’s quite addicting. Runs well except sometimes the skill buttons doesn’t work in some battles. Also I think that waiting for the box to open is a bit too long. I know this is an early access version so I’m looking forward :)

Work still needing to be done. Coming from a massive ES Fan.. Just a few things more need to be done before I’m willing to give Blades a 5 star rating. Every time I get a notification for “your weekly free gold chest is ready” and I log in, there is no free chest! When this keeps repeating it leaves a feeling of being opportunistic ally played upon. When it happened last night I immediately quit the app out of frustration and it immediately sent me another notification “you forgot to open your free gold chest” so I logged back in straight away thinking it had rectified itself,.. boy did I feel stupid when it wasn’t there! Short of this I love the game as I do all Elder Scrolls. The only other thing this needs is to be able to make your own house and lay out the inside, so you can display all of your loot. Maybe a couple of differentiated bosses would be great, that drop trophies that you can display in your house

Great game. This game is a free game yes you can use money but I have been playing without spending money to see how I will go and I have been able to do everything I want to from questing building my town, I will buy some gems to support the game but I can honestly say that you but need to spend hundreds of dollars like some people say just support the devs. Brilliant E3 announcement about this game for new quest line and jewellery, great support and updates. Keep up the great work.

Great game, needs more balancing and general content. EDIT: One month after I posted this and all the issues I complained about have been patched by Bethesda! The game is well balanced, allowing you to really interact with the quest lines in a varied and interesting way. I’m very impressed with the implementation of the game! ORIGINAL: I love the idea of this game. ES on a mobile is a brilliant venture for Bethesda and I love the feeling of (almost) playing Skyrim on the go. Having said that, the game itself is very grind-heavy, as drop rates for basic building materials are fairly low. This would be less of a problem if there were more quest lines and possibilities of paths to take, however at some points you simply have to grind out 10 or so jobs (repetitive and fairly boring missions) to get the sufficient materials to build houses (which appear to do nothing) so you can move on to the next set of quests. Additionally, in the later stages of the game, the buffs and debuffs for magic and weapon types become ridiculous, where it is almost impossible to defeat certain enemies with one weapon, whereas if you simply swap a mace for a long sword, it becomes a piece of cake. This leads the player to start to ‘game’ the game, which does kind of remove that feeling of adventure and fun. I love the idea of this game, but I feel some aspects of its execution leave a little to be desired. With a little balancing and some further quest lines, this could be a killer game!!

Could be great, but going the wrong direction. I really wanted this game to be good but I’ve been sorely disappointed. I’ll keep it simple- The good- -gorgeous graphics -gameplay doesn’t take long to get used to -upgrading gear feels impactful and fun The bad- -monetised through the roof -gameplay does get repetitive -upgrading gear becomes exponentially difficult The ugly- -every patch brings stealth nerfs -beneficial bugs patched immediately -detrimental bugs left to fester for multiple patches -some enemies so broken they’re just not worth fighting -endgame gear almost completely locked behind paywall -after the story there’s not much reason to continue playing -abyss mode supposed to be an endless dungeon but costs more in resources than it rewards

Has so much potential... Cool concept but it’s so frustrating in terms of grinding 🙄 to get further in the game you have to do really, really repetitive quests to get materials to rebuild this town. And when you get chests, you have to wait ages to even open them...starting with wooden which is 5 secs, silver which is 1 hour, gold which is 6 HOURS. Cannot begin to imagine the wait for elder or legendary chests! Can be sped up with “gems” even though you have gold as well. But guess how you get them? Your money or the rare, occasional 2-4 you MAY get on difficult quests (speeding up can cost over 100 gems). Also not a bethesda game without bugs. So in all, the waiting to get anywhere and the repetitiveness (not to mention that you can’t be a rogue - i.e no bows or dual wielding) makes this game get boring quickly. Not motivated to play often simply because of the grind. Also pretty much just Skyrim again in terms of mechanics and models. I wish iOS games would be made for entertainment or even as a thank you to fans, instead of cash grabbing. But money rules this world now.

Bug report. As it is impossible through the game and Bethesda page to give any feedback and report about bugs I’ll do it here. With new updates the cave trolls now refill their health in the mid fight and they do it very quickly. It doesn’t matter how much health you have or how you fight with them (magicka or stamina) it’s impossible to beat them. The next problem I have with the game are the shields. I have moved the shield button on left side of my screen but it is too close with the abilities that a lot of the time two get mixed up. It would be nice if there was also a vertical option for shield placement. The other problem with shield is even on mid fight when I do push the right button the shield doesn’t come on right away. I am usually taking a hit or two first before it comes on.

Great - could be amazing.. This game is varied, rewarding and, for a mobile game, deep. With a good storyline and various gameplay elements from PvP, side quests, daily challenges, city building - there is something for everyone. After a certain point, however, it does get repetitive. New releases are regular but struggle to keep the game fresh. Granted, this is pre-release, but a greater focus on the storyline (adding more content after the main quest line) and city building would be great for those immersive gamers, to avoid the hours of grinding to build up what is inevitably quite a bland settlement of a few houses and shops. Some additional villagers, storylines and unlockable building types would add more depth to this unique game and keep people coming back for more. An in-depth monthly release with different unlockable elements would be great to see.

Amazing but needs work. I am level 20 and the missions and jobs are almost impossible to do without dying. That and the fact that ingredients for health potions are hard to come by and health potions cost an arm and a leg. Hopefully these can be adjusted! The game itself looks amazing and is so impressive! Looking forward to playing more when the level difficulty level is fixed.

5 stars with new update. With everything the new update brings this game is now one of my favourites. No chest timers, increased loot, PvP, and guilds have put this game back on track to actually being fun. It’s ultimately a very grindy game, but it gets more and more fun the further you advance. Higher levels you get better items/equipment, but need to grinder a wider variety of mats. PvP match ups could use some work (been up against players who destroyed me within 10 seconds). Not really p2w, if you’ve got the patience. One thing that needs buffing though is bonus enchantments. I swear Severio hates me. Also maybe a system to upgrade resources, like 5 petty soul gems for 1 lesser then 5 lesser for a common soul gem, or something alone those line. No lag on iPhone 11 pro max, but does force close every now and then, usually after about 1 1/2 hours of play tho Happy to finally get back into this game!

The Trading system is wack. Okay so in general I really like the game but I’m so disappointed when I send a trade request to my guild chat and of course, someone donates, but I never get the donation. I needed 3 amethyst for an upgrade on my axe and ask, someone gives, I don’t get. This has happened 3 times and it’s kinda frustrating. Is there a specific place I have to go to collect my items? On top of all that, I understand my phone is a bit old but the game should work clearly since I only have this and one other, but it crashes every 15-25 minutes into playing. If there’s nothing you can do then that’s sad but okay and if you can do something then please do so. All on all I really wanna keep playing but it’s hard with all the glitches and malfunctions.

Suggested ai/npc fixes. I played this a while back, but a few things that I noticed that were a bit off with ai. were you could actually trap enemies between and on terrain, basically keeping their ai marching indefinitely towards the player, giving the player quite enough time to take any potions or go get a drink irl or even film it for laughs, if you do choose to look into this, Bethesda. here’s what I noticed: it can happen around tables (surrounded bye rubble), or just getting up above or around some things. I even made a few videos showcasing these events. Following up with the ai problems, at the home town npc are literally as light as a feather, and if the player stand in there routine path they would quite often walk into the player some cases couldn’t get past them until they either moved or left the area. One of my favorite things was to push the npc’s I forgot how to describe it but the only word I can think of is they’re all literally paper. Anyway hope to have see something new involving the player character(s), or a companion animal that could follow you around. not necessarily fighting anything. but just so it dosnt feel like protagonist is afraid of dogs or something.

Really good, but.... Really enjoying this game, its fun and is like having Skyrim on my phone. I do wish it didn’t rely so much on having to buy gems. Also the character design for the one race of Black people/the only representation for people of colour at all (Redguards) is atrocious. It is legitimately just a white character with black face on, and there are no black hairstyles (for female characters at least, i haven’t checked male). This aspect is really disappointing for me and i wish you guys would do better. Aside from that MAJOR aspect, good game.

Good but too Grind Heavy. I love the game, however more open world aspects should be involved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great already considering it’s an ES game on a mobile device, but it’s too grind heavy in order to progress within the game If open world was brought into the game i feel as if this would reduce the “annoying” sense you get when doing 10 jobs over and over to get enough to build half a house or to even get half the experience needed to get to the next quest without it being too frustrating to the point you don’t want to play for a while My town is only level 4 and i’m only level 15 myself so I don’t know what is yet to come, but so far I can see it’s a great game but doesn’t have the true ES feel i was really looking for. I’ll continue to play the game without a doubt but feel as if this should be considered to make the game more enjoyable.

Could have been great. The idea of the game is great, but the prime focus appears to be for the developer to get PAYG funds, rather than player enjoyment of the game. Early levels are satisfying, but as you get further into the game you cannot beat enemies or complete missions. You would have to spend cash, and lots of it to make your character strong enough. There is just no joy, rather just frustration, at having your character constantly thrashed. I try a few levels, then turn on my PC and play Skyrim GOTY edition instead. Much more satisfying, and cheaper. Could have been a great game if focus was on players, and not solely on the cash.

Fun, but man am I tired of gem games.... Beautiful iPhone equivalent to a terrific franchise game. However; this whole gem thing. Can’t we just pay once for a game and own it to play? Even if it’s $80. I don’t mind. I realise it’s essential to monetise gameplay on mobile devices in an era where everyone wants something for free, but seriously. I just can’t stand the gem model, I’m not sure why it gives me so much grief. Maybe you have options with a game like this, depending on your situation: either choose either pay once to own, or free to play with IAPs? Are there people who seriously spend $150 for a chest of gems? Maybe there are. I guess there probably are, huh.

Good game poisoned by greed. If you rely look at this game for what it is you will realise you are getting ripped of brutally if you pay money, compared to let’s say oblivion or any of the other console versions were you get a content packed adventure for around $50. All you get with this is a couple of different tunnels that repeat themselves clunky game play and algorithms that adapt to make you pay to progress in the game. I personally only spent $3 on this game before I realised this game will try rob me until my pockets are empty. These nerds are the type to rob a little kid of his pocket money every day! 🤟

Fine with it.... Game is good, graphics very good. Town building a bit limited and could use a top down town planner. Combat system is simple but effective though I can’t see how it could ever allow for projectiles which is more than a little disappointing. As it’s still under development it can keep the 5* for now. What bugs me the most is that as the towns “hero” you would expect the town to offer up a home to build up and stockpile your stuff. Even in Skyrim the homesteading option was better than what we can currently do with the entire town.

Cute RPG. A mini Skyrim with mobile game elements, this is as accessible as it is reminiscent of my Skyrim days, thanks to the same items being used- and the occasional cheese wheel I find on missions. Town building is the one aspect of this game that is new, and only existed in Skyrim in the form of three singular houses. Though it is simple here, it’s a nice touch and and integral to a interesting new mechanic of leveling up your town. There are paid things, which you don’t need at all to enjoy this, which I am grateful for. Highly recommend this gem

It’s a good game but could be great. Since playing the game I have enjoyed it but after completing the main quest line and maxing out my town and items it’s starting to get repetitive and boring there is only so much Arena and jobs you can do before this happens. More content is needed but for those starting out in the game it’s fun and enjoyable.

Great game with heaps of Potential. I’ve been a fan of the ES series since I played my first ES game Oblivion. At the start the game was very very grind-heavy. Now with a few updates it’s lessened a little bit, but could still do with some work with building material drops during jobs. What I would like to see in this game to give it more of a ES feel is giving the game a day to night transition. Or simply base the time of day in game on the user’s/players time zone setting. I would love to see what my town would look like during night time hours. The fighting can be a little glitchy sometimes but I’m sure the peeps at Bethesda will work on that. But sometimes when I walk my character decides to turn 180 and then stop for some reason. And I’m not sure how many other people experience that. I like this game and I can see it getting better with time. Keep up the good work.

Arena is unfair. I’m by no means a gamer, but I love this particular game to bits! It’s beautiful and smooth, and as long as you’re saving more coins/gems than you spend (which isn’t really so difficult), you can definitely get by without having to pay actual money. HOWEVER, the Arena is a total letdown. It’s lots of fun when you can *win* some of your matches, but the chances of getting an opponent you actually have a chance against are horrific. For every seven matches I play, I get six against people who are 10+ levels above me with significantly better gear. The matchmaking algorithm seems arbitrary at best, and rigged at worst. I end up having to stand and wait to get killed, because no matter what I try I get flattened either way, and conceding costs more trophies than losing. It also quickly becomes expensive, as you have to constantly repair your equipment, and the only way to make any kind of profit from the Arena is to consistently win. Very, very disappointed because there is so much potential for the Arena to be fun. While I recommend playing Blades anyway, I advise against playing in the Arena - at least until the matchmaking is more fair!

Very sad. Hi, I am very disappointed. I am a huge Skyrim fan and love playing it on my PC but I wanted to download this game anyway because I would like to play out and about. The App Store clearly says IOS 11.0 and I have a iPhone 6 with IOS 12.0 and the once I open it, it tells me that my device is incompatible with the game. I would understand that it needs a newer device but maybe you could state that?! I love Skyrim and I am very sad that I can’t play your new game. I hope you can fix this so it doesn’t happen to other people? Thanks. Love your old game, keep up the good work.

Frequent crashes. Looks amazing, can easily roam freely, appears to have good quest content though haven’t gotten too far into the game due to the constant crashing after every fight which is most frustrating. However I’ll deffinantly come back and try this game again when the bugs are fixed as it looks very promising!

Great BUT .... Graphics are great, fight mechanics are relatively easy and game play is good ... BUT ... at this time you CANNOT reset/restart your character if you make a mistake. This really must change and soon. I am even happy if it was a full reset back to starting character and town. So, why? What you are not told (implied only) is that you were once a member of the “Blades”. You will always be fighting with swords/axes/maces/shields. Yes you can cast spells to assist your fight, but you have to stay alive long enough. As a level 11 spell caster I can only do difficulty 1 or 2 quests without dieing so many times and it is getting more difficult each level. Let us hope that “Early Access” is cleared for a final release.

One thing I think could make it better. Maybe...make it an open-world game instead of just walking around the town and getting quests only to go somewhere else which is 2 places, from what I've seen. So, if it'd be open-world then...you'd get to explore and find things instead? I don't know, it's a good idea in my opinion. Hopefully it'll be looked at!

Technically great but gameplay is lacking. Great graphics but just let down by repetitive, simplistic gameplay and lack of any real substance. The graphics are superb. Fluid movement, good controls, all starts off very promising. The sheen wears off once you understand what the game wants you to do. It seems to want you to rebuild the city. To do that, you need resources. To get them, you do little missions (available from a menu) which require almost no skill. It’s the same basic mission over and over again with some slightly different maps / dungeon settings. There is no variety to be found here. The mission layout is tiny and you need to do them over and over to get enough lumber or whatever to rebuild houses in the city. I have no idea why I’m doing this because the houses just look better than rubble but don’t offer anything to the player. I can’t even get hooked enough to want to spend money on the expensive in app purchases! Why?! After playing for a few hours I am thoroughly bored and contemplating deletion. What a shame. I really wanted to like it.

Disappointed. It looks fantastic when it plays ! it plays well. But a Game App etc that requires as much money as it does to play it you would think the developers would put some sort of effort into making sure that the player doesn’t end up spending there time reloading the game after the ridiculous amount of crashes it has its unstable and very disappointing especially when one expects stability issue from Said developer as of past experiences and being a long time fan of these titles You’d think that you would be able to complete at least one quest in game, I’ve let this game sit and come back to it and discovered that some things do’t change CTD yeah CTD again two updates and still you guessed it Thx for the look but it’s time to uninstall I think. As one can clearly see that Bethesda needs to employ more staff or reoginize maybe get this app stable finish the games in the wings no dragging very scratch of coin they can out of Skyrim.

I’m still playing... just. I actually had so much excitement for this game - I’ve been watching for the pre-announcements for months. So I have to admit I’m a bit sad it’s not lived up to the hype and legacy of the other Elder Scrolls titles. Don’t get me wrong- it’s good, but it’s nowhere near what I hoped for. The story is solid, the gameplay is great, I am quite proud of my town, but I have memorised all the limited number of areas, and the monsters, and now it’s just a grind. And I tried really hard to get through without paying but you just can’t. I am probably one of the minimal payers, so I know when the arena opens up I’ll just get smacked. I am still enjoying the game, but when I run out of gems the next time I know I’ll take my sword and shield and go home. It’s not a game Bethesda should be proud of yet

Good game, but lacking key component. I love this game so much, and I have a live for The Elder Scrolls V, however there is no area to start a new character, which annoys me because I wanted to restart my character and take a different path, however this is unfortunately not possible, please allow character resets or different slots for multiple character saves :)

Great Game...getting better as it develops. Played the game from since before Arena and Guilds were developed and gave it up as I had run out of things to do. Now that it has developed further I am back enjoying it, from graphics to game mechanics to engaging storyline’s it is a lot of fun. I would like to see the Guilds be developed further though, there is nothing to do but donate a tiny materials to each other. There needs to be daily tasks and rewards for the alliance to do, like kill 100 goblins as an alliance for example...or even a guild vs guild matching system, with rewards at the end. There is so much more that could be done with guilds. But that is my only criticism, love the game All in all a great game in the tradition of the Elder Scrolls

Some good and bad points. Pretty good graphics for a mobile game. Quickly becomes repetitive though. The town building and upgrading is okay but the rising building prices with each successive build are excessive. Upgrades are nice but the resource and gold cost of weapons and armour upgrades are insane in comparison to the minor increase in the sale price. No point upgrading to sell at a such a massive loss unlike most other Bethesda games. The quest levelling is too far disconnected from player level too, obviously pushing for real world dollar investment which is very high for what little you get in return. Could buy much better PC or console games for that kind of $$$.

Awesome Adaptation. This game is sick! I absolutely love it and try to get on every day for a few hours. I love that they continue to update the app so when I think something isn’t right or should be done better it’s fixed in the next update. Keep up the good work by listening to the fans! Won’t stop playing anytime soon.

Not a true Elder scrolls.. When I hear the name “Elder scrolls”, I imagine all the awesome gameplay. A Bethesda game would usually contain a free roam world with hundreds of unique quests. And with a cool story that you can control. Most of the decision making is gone, the whole world is gone. But I do like the idea. Fixing a raided city. But this is more of a grinding game than awesome rpg. But I do understand that it is too hard to make a game for a mobile phone that won’t crash. So I will give you 3 stars. For a game with lots of possibility.

Needs a jump button. The game is amazing and I never thought that there would be an elder scrolls game on mobile but it’s missing a few small details. For starters, it would really add to the game if you added a jump button and even just to be able to sheathe and un-sheathe your weapon would completely change the game and the way every one looks at it. Either way, it’s an amazing game and I really love it.

Bears Block. Great game, big fan, paid 8 bucks for the hero pack and staying up way too late just to play. VERY SPECIFIC NOTE: The thing that bugs me is when fighting bears and they put up there cute little bear paws to block I just don’t even want to hurt it when it does that, I just want to fight bears that don’t know how to block and are ferocious animals! It might just be the way it’s animated but I’d prefer the bear just to roar or something even if it has the same effect as ‘blocking’.

I am yet to see what it is like!. I Am a HUGE fan of Skyrim on my ps4. (Which has amazing graphics, characters, and quests, plus much more) I am trying not to set my expectations too high, since most mobile versions of games originally on pc or ps are nothing but mere shadows of what they are on the platform originally made for. Still, I am very excited!! Also thank the lawd this is free.

Fun, beautiful and immersive, but with a shelf-life.. Graphics, music, UI and gameplay, and great story provides addictive immersion in the game. 2 things which are likely to make me stop playing soon: 1. Dungeons are all either exactly the same (about 3 variations, with very minor differences), so it feels very grindy. 2. I’m now at L20 and the difficulty of the quests has outrun my ability to survive them. I’ve tried to upgrade my equipment, but can’t get much past where I am. I’m using different load outs for different situations, but still almost impossible to survive. It’s a shame - I will prob have to stop playing. Is it just me I wonder?

Enjoying. I am having a lot of fun playing but I find it annoying that you don’t come across more items to creat health potions when you are doing quests or health potions in chests. The other thing is that every quest I get is always the highest amount of skulls. I am finding it very difficult to bring those levels down so I can survive them. I won’t stop trying though

Bethesda continues to disappoint. The Elder Scrolls Blades overall has some decent core mechanics but is ruined with pay to win loot boxes, repetitive missions and lack of story quests. Compared to a lot of other freemium games where it’s possible to get good gear and equipment for free, this game just comes across as incredibly greedy in comparison. With a competitive element on the way with an arena mode where players can verse each other, that mode will be filled with people who have maxed out equipment from dropping money into the game. Have micro transactions isn’t inherently bad, it just is when they’re just done in such a opportunistic way.

Unfortunate money grab. Like most, takes too long to accomplish anything without paying for it. Sad really, as I’m a huge Elder Scrolls fan.

Best mobile game yet!. It is about time that there is a mobile game worth our time! Yes it has some bugs but it is only EA and feels pretty polished compared to other full released games. This game is NOT pay2win OR pay2play ONLY pay4convenience. NO WAITING TO DO MISSIONS!!! Gems drop frequently, no forced buying to progress! Do not listen to the people saying it is all waiting, because it is not. To the DEVS: Have a bug with the green challenge “Restore stamina with potions” have used many stamina potions during fights, doesn’t register on the challenge at all and the cancel option is greyed out. It has been bugged for at least 10 days To the noobs, SAVE THOSE GEMS!!! Upgrade the chest storage so you can farm chests and open the long ones while at work/school.

(***ROBBED***) (***MUST READ IMPORTANT***). (***ROBBED***)LEGENDARY CHEST & MATERIAL CARRIAGE THAT I (***PAYED***)FOR AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WONT HELP ME Customer service in non existent. I’ve spent over 700$ because I work so much and have no time to grind. Over the 30 legendary chest I’ve boughten 1 of them I did not receive. The game crashed as it took my gems and the chest didn't have the time it needed to open. I did not receive any items and i very easily noticed my gems where gone. Customer service message me back so I guess they are existent, but Kym said she had checked all the legendary chests I’ve bought and told me I’ve received all my items. Like why would someone that has enough money to put 700 $ into a game lie about one chest. Apparently it doesn’t show errors on non received items. The second time I was robbed was when I hit level 9 for my town. An offer of am material carriage popped up for 2000 gems. Same thing bought it and instantly crashed. Logged into my game I had not received any material or gold and 2000 gems were missing. I went from 5000 to 3000. Pretty obvious. What do I have to do video tape the glitch or error. Every chest record so I have proof. I bet even if I did that and had proof they would not reimburse me. This has got to be the most unfair game ever where a customer could pay up close to the thousands and plan on spending another 1000 along with getting there friends that have money just like the victim into this game making them thousands and thousands of dollars and they still wouldn’t care to reimburse and fix the problem with something that doesn’t even cost them money because it’s gems in the game. Or items in a video game. Wouldn’t cost the any money at all to fix a unfair issue that could possible make them thousands of dollars has to be the definition of a broken game. If my problem was somehow fixed, I would gladly rewrite my review 5 stars as I love this game and this is the only reason I’m rating it 1 star.

Could be better. Pretty good game, but eventually you’ll just hit a wall with your progression and the game becomes impossible to play without purchasing micro transactions. Also, one day the game just decided to delete my character, so that’s wonderful.

Absolutely incredible.. This game is absolutely amazing the quality and story so far just I’m so happy to see these recent new games coming out to us phone users and they haven’t disappointed yet. The only thing I would ask would for you guys to allow controller enabled.

Would love to see more updates. The story line is great but drops off after lvl 35. Things get very repetitive after that with the abyss, portal and side quests. The customization for you character and village are nice. It kind of seems like the developers are just regurgitating the same old environments. Would love to see a progression in the story line - especially as the max level cap is 100.

Desapointed. I hope you tech guys are working hard to fix your latest update ? you should also reply the comments ! NOTHING IS WORKING ANYMORE ...C’mon !!

Sad.. You start out thinking your going to be playing an elder scrolls game and it looks great! Three hours in however you realize your playing just as much of a repetitive pay to win title as tap tap hero’s. So sad to see Bethesda go down this road... I really wanted to like this game. I had faith, I hoped at least that pay to win would be a secondary feature that it was possible to progress without. Unfortunately it’s simply not the case. One extra star for the graphics as it is beautiful. Unfortunately as gaming companies should have learned by now a beautiful game does not equal a fun game in any way shape or form.

Cant open the game. Since last update i cant open my app..it closes itself..

Can you. Make leveling faster and enemies weaker because I got killed right away

Same old same mobile cash grab crap. Really bad Horrible controls, even for a mobile game and character customization look like for a PlayStation 2 video game

It’s not worth it, still, again, also. Updated 11/09/20 Controls are uncomfortable, quests are boring and repetitive, NPC interactions are boring, loot is rote wait or pay. Not worth time or money. Extremely disappointing for something sporting “Elder Scrolls” in the name People are way sick of micro transactions and loot boxes. Bethesda needs to reevaluate what kind of company it is and what it’s putting out into the world. This is trash

My opinion for Elder Scrolls:Blades. For me I’m used to explore the world and it’s crashing every time I killed an enemy either it I redo the battle again or in a middle of a battle.

Game won’t load. Downloaded to try it out, won’t get passed the loading screen. At first I got an error saying “we can not retrieve your character at the moment. Please try again later.” First time playing so don’t have a character yet as far as I know lol, now it just won’t go passed loading screen. Oh well, one less mobile game to worry about!

Plus capable de me connecter. Depuis la dernière mise à jour je ne peux plus me connecter, le jeu ne s’ouvre plus du tout!

unfortunate. a franchise like the elder scroll games carries a legacy with it. Every time an elder scrolls game is praised by the community its legacy becomes more renowned and vise versa. Gives me the sick feeling that once Bethesda is finally done damaging their own legacy, will it even be fun to play the good games? first 1 star ive ever given. -Hunter Christian Smith

Was the best app until..... Was the best app until the last update and the update of Apple on iPhone, now it crash and close before it could open.

Can’t even open the app.. I have an iPhone 6S and this app crashes every single time I try to open it. I restarted my phone and it still doesn’t work. Awesome.

Update?. My phone doesn’t even support it, I need a new IPhone to play, if you have a iPhone 6 or lower you can’t play, I don’t know about the other IPhones but I’m kinda disappointed. I love Skyrim and want to play the mobile version (tho its a different storyline) and I can’t. Sad.

Crash. Every time I do a quest and just about finish it crash . Anything anybody know how fix . I reinstall that does work . Update my iPad and that does work .so any suggestions.

Great game. I liked it, so much action and storyline!

Cool game. It would be nice if you could move your weapon freely but otherwise nice game

Surprised. I usually can’t stand your games well ok a mix of love and hate and it is my fault I am terrible with an open world I’ll be lvl 1 and wind up in hardcore boss death zones LOL I prefer a but less freedom so I don’t kill myself xD band I also usually hate building and maintaining a city but I really like this game! Great job!!

Fun Game at the Start. This game has been great to play until you get far enough into it. There is nothing in this game that changes to keep the game interesting once you have beaten the quests. New quests are very slowly and rarely ever implemented and when they are they can be finished in less than an hour. This game is great for a short time but it won't be a game people play over and over again like Skyrim.

Idkkkkk anymo. Disappointed, tell’s me in my notification’s I have free 200gems and doesn’t even show when I click to play the game.other than that everything was fine, but do find myself wasting time on a frickin elder scrolls game

Incredible game, you guys nailed everything just one thing.... The four stars is best this game is amazing but since this the start I can see it becoming a time waiting game or if you’d rather a pay to play. That would completely ruin this amazing opportunity for a mobile game that I am in love so far, anyways besides that this game is awesome!

No controller support. This game has a lot of promise but I won’t play it if I can’t use a controller.

Update. Since the last update I can’t open the app

You should. Release elder scrolls castles on iOS please and thank you but don’t make a feature like energy limitations please we would appreciate if it also wasn’t pay2win

Poor controls and limiting combat system.. The drag on the looking stick and walking make the game almost unplayable. The camera swings around in the screen like a drunk person on ice skates. The combat system has you locked in place unable to move around in combat. I was expecting an open world game but this game is super linear and clunky.

The only phone game I play.. This is actually a really great game. I’m not a phone game guy but this does the elder scrolls series justice. The caves you loot are a bit repetitive but you can’t really expect the game to be super in-depth, everything else is pretty fresh and well thought out.

Not Bad :). Different to what I’m used to - nice change. Two weeks into it and not getting bored - so far so good!

Last update doesn't open. Just donwloaded the latest version of the game, but it dioesn't open. Got ios 13.5

Please make it so you can restart from the beginning.. I want to be able to replay the storyline but I can’t because the account I’m under has already completed and there’s no way to reset or delete and start from the beginning again.

Battle and open world. The way you battle sucks, you should make it so you could move around while battling and could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I’m begging you make this game open world please Oh and no offence on the battle thing

Noice. Really nice game

Elder Scrolls Window Dressing. When I first started playing I assumed that once you got through the tutorial the world would open up for exploration, but it never does. The combat is uninteresting, the characters are uninteresting, the town you’re building is uninteresting (you can’t even enter buildings). There’s no real story, no real choices except how to spend your resources, and even that makes no real difference. The skill trees are equally bland. I don’t get it, where’s the Elder Scrolls game I was promised? Visually it looks like Elder Scrolls, but it isn’t.

I love it😍. I love Skyrim do I love this game !

Not fun. I’m a huge Elder Scrolls fan, this looks pretty but is Pay2win and just not fun to play

Dernière maj jeu ne fonctionne pas. Dès le lancement de l’application cela bloque aucune possibilité de se connecter

Forced to pay for expensive In-App Purchases. Graphics, story, and experience are pretty darn good. Graphics are just wow. Thats not enough to give it more stars though. This game would be so much better if Game Controllers were supported. The worst part, is that the grind to advance through the game is near impossible. The only way to move forward at a reasonable pace is to pay for in-app purchases. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS. And these dungeons are so repetitive. Lots of work to be done to make this a successful game.

Glitching. Every time I kill someone are something else it kicks me out please fix this problem

Pay Game. Not worth the time to play.

Has potential. This game has a lot of potential due to its amazing graphics, fighting mechanics and town builder but fails due to long timers and a very ungenerous material grinding system and lack of storage space. Its so stingy that you will either spend real money or constantly do inventory management rather than grind the dungeons.

Fonctionne plus depuis maj. Depuis la mise a jour, le jeu n’ouvre plus.

Boring doesn’t feel like Skyrim :/. Make an actually Skyrim game pls? For mobile

Crashes. Crashes after every kill, please look into. Other then crashes I am addicted!

Please add controller support. Please

Impressive Game. A good concept, the story is neat, plenty of weapons, armor, and jewelry. The graphics are splendid. The town building feature is a great concept and Ive been playing for almost a week now, the pay to win element is kept at bay, already got some epics and a legendary. Honestly well done considering there are NO ADS! A minor problem is the enemy detection range is too small, I can break objects in front of a skeleton and it wouldn’t respond. It breaks the realism in the game. Long term future ideas I think will work great is having players visit each others town, cities where MULTIPLE players can interact with each other. Guilds can have a guild hall which members can visit. A huge step up would be a 2v1 or 2v2 fights. A feature which allows companions or guild members to fight side by side. Long range weapons like bows and magic attacks. Install swiping attacks too since tapping and holding can be boring. Over-all this is a amazing free to play game, P2W element is low, shockingly good graphics, tons of content, and a decent multiplayer. Must get if you enjoy fantasy games.

Ipad mini 2 is not supported. Why??? My ipad is not supported.

Not exactly Elder Scrolls. Been an Elder Scroll fan since the first in 94 but I was hoping for something better on a mobile platform. The graphics are outstanding but it lacks the Elder Scrolls open world feel. Quests are pretty much the same and repetitive. Building the town isn’t much different than any other time management/pay to play game. There isn’t any depth to leveling up a character and nothing great about customizing. I don’t mind the pay to play aspect, they need to make money somehow but I’ve been playing for a while now and haven’t bought anything and the repetitive grind is really starting to get old. No difference between dungeons, caves or outside world except the graphics. Just a linear grind. Combat is clunky and the shield then attack thing is frustrating at times. I was really hoping more of a Elder Scrolls online experience. Like a better version of Order & Chaos. I think Bethesda can do a better job. Especially if they intend to release a PS4 and Switch version. Couldn’t imagine playing this on those platforms. Blades just doesn’t seemed to be up to Bethesda standards in my opinion.

Kinda... meh.. I got this game, cuz I LOVE Skyrim and especially Oblivion. So, anyways, the ability to build a town, and craft armor is cool and all, but the controls are wonky. There is no sprint, or run, so traveling is a bit slow. And stealth? What happened to stealth? Sneaking up on enemies and swiftly hitting them in the back to do critical damage, was always fun. But in this game... there is no sneak. Instead, wether or not their back is turned, when you walk up to them, they just turn around, and engage you in combat. Oh, speaking of combat, the combat is sort of... boring. First off, you can’t walk around, so you can’t get out of a fight once one has started. There should be a button that says “bail” or “run”. Pressing the button activates a 50/50 chance of the attempt succeeding, or failing. Succeeding allows you to walk away. Failing keeps you in combat. But that is just my opinion. Anyways, the graphics are hands down AMAZING for a mobile game. Dare I say, better than Oblivion’s graphics. And the idea for an elder scrolls game on the go is amazing. So this game has its ups and downs, it’s pros and cons.

Huge flaws in the algorithms. This game was fun in the beginning, however... Leveling up became stagnant and impossible to move past level 22. All my quests, including ones that I'm well above the recommended level, are far beyond my ability and equipment bonuses. I cannot collect enough items to make the potions needed to survive to complete a quest recommended for players at level 17. The stagnation doesn't stop there. The jobs available, have all before too much for my character to endure with the max gear and weapons pertaining to my current level. Also my town has become a stand still, I haven't been able to upgrade or build anything, since there's no revenue. I saved up my gems to create a guild, but unless it starts with the letter "A", nobody will ever see it. I had to delete the guild I paid 50 gems for, in prefer to be able to actually be in an active guild. You aren't reimbursed at all when you remove the guild. This game leaves me rather frustrated. Like I /really/ want to play this game. I open it all the time, to realize I can't do anything at all. It's disheartening. Some might say that I'm being too critical, or that my expectations are too high, but I don't expect much other than continuity in the difficulty parallel to the equipment allotted.

Join us and experience what you never imagined was possible. The theme of the Adventurer Alliance of Tamriel is “Camaraderie so pure that it does not exist on the plane of humankind “ You do not believe this is possible? Join us and see for yourself that not only is this possible but that you will be a maker of what does not exist. In this place we do not speak with the brevity of the modern age to mark that this place is different and we are different when we are here. In this place you are honorable, your comrades are loyal, and your leaders are wise and worthy of your respect. You will see as I did that once the best in you is unbridled you will not be able to contain it in Tamriel, and you will not want to! The times call for Blades, they call for the Adventurer Alliance of Tamriel, and they call for wundunikke (Adventurers in the tongue of dragons) from around the plane of humankind to join together. Should the Nine converge our paths, may there be honor in your shout and may our camaraderie be on display from the moment of our greeting. UL! Mid! Zey! (Eternity! Loyalty! Brotherhood/Sisterhood!)

Broken. Though stunning visually and conceptually it is a broken game, and seems designed deliberately so. Your levels can’t keep up with main quest line. You fill up on silver gold chests that take 1 hour or 6 hours, and you have to wait through them to continue playing effectively. the combat is mainly level and equipment based meaning you either have to get better equipment which is actually pretty painstaking or level up which is extremely Grindy. The Spells and abilities aren’t very useful unless timed right before an attack animation even begins which is frustrating since as the animation is the only indicator for an attack. It seems elder scrolls blades is designed to be a money hole to coax you into buying gem to get your chests rather than to be a serious part of the elder scrolls franchise. This game is truly saddening Morrowind Oblivion and Skyrim though unfinished were the elder scrolls franchises prime. I do not recommend this game in its current state for elder scrolls fans it over simplifies many of the concepts we have came to love out of the elder scrolls series. Bethesda you will always have a place in my heart, but you are neglecting your creative abilities and your player base.

Great game for your phone. I waited a while before writing a review. I really hate when someone writes how great or poor a game is after playing for a few days or weeks. Anyway, this is a great game to play when you are on the move, and can’t play any of the Elder Scrolls games on your computer or game console. Is it exactly like those games-no, but it does satisfy, and it’s fun to play. Now that we can join guilds, it’s even more fun, provided you find a great guild (I really found a great guild which has added to the gameplay!) So if you want to have an alternative to your console or computer, this is a great alternative. It does get harder the further you go. Building up your town is a great way to help out guild members, if you join a guild. There are daily free gifts, so you can play the game without buying anything. During quests you are also able to win gems. It is possible to never buy gems, or if you would like to purchase gems, they run specials quite often. Try out the game, it’s a great game!

Great mobile adaptation of an Elder Scrolls game. I am relatively new to TES series of games. I just started playing Skyrim last year when a friend gave me her old xbox and a copy of the game, and since then I have learned about and thoroughly enjoyed the expansive gameplay and universe created by the folks at Bathesda. So, when I saw they had come out with a mobile game, I was so pumped! So far, I am a huge fan of this game. The gameplay is great, I love the graphics and the story lines are interesting and I like the added components of building up your town and things like that. I think that, with the limitations of it being a mobile game, it is a wonderful representation of the Elder Scrolls franchise and I really enjoy it! If you are smart with your timing on opening chests and spend your resources wisely, you won’t have to pay any real world money for gems or coins. I haven’t paid a cent, and my character is Lv 26 and I have progressed significantly in several quest lines. Basically, I love this game and I have been suggesting it to everyone I know who likes the Elder Scrolls games!

Blades. Hi all it’s me again elder scrolls keeps on delivering they give a free gift every day plus on holidays they give special gifts to the player’s the only way that they can get any better is to let you get a pet to go on mission with you and help you fight it won’t die but when the pets HP reaches 0 he can no longer help you must heal him with potions or a revival scroll plus he can go up in levels you can also sell armor for the pet the game would be perfect and please don’t make it that you have to fight other clans don’t turn it into a pay to win game fighting in the area is perfect I love RPG’s the game has a great story line and I love the endless dungeon to see how far you can get I’d like to see some food from time to time but it’s not a must hats of to all that’s made and worked on the game it’s outstanding and you keep making it better thank you all for a great game it only gives you 5 stars to grade the game so I have to say it’s not enough I give blade a 10 out of 5 keep up the grate work

The distraction before the show. Excellent game. Beautiful graphics. Fairly good turn based fighting. It definitely will hold me over until ES 6. My wish list for this game. More healing capabilities. Either give us a healing spell, or give us more potions or the ingredients for potions. There’s not enough food laying around in the dungeons to stay strong. Next is balance. Some of the early main quest missions are a real struggle, and you have to do a TON of side quests to level up. Also on the topic of balance, there’s not enough gold/treasure to pay for good supplies, and there’s not enough good supplies in the shops. Much of what you make on a quest goes into repairing your equipment. Lastly, I’d love to see some stealth and ranged weapons. I’ve usually played Skyrim and Oblivion as an Archer/Assassin. In Blades we’re only given the choice of Tank/Magician combo. This would probably require a complete reworking of the game, but hey, a man can dream right. Overall, I am very pleased with the game, and I’m fairly addicted. I love watching my town grow. I hope some minor tweaks will be made, but if not, still a great game.

Has great potential, great game. Been hooked for a month like everyone else before I wrote a review and graphics are amazing on the XR Max. Controls are stiff at first but usually depends on the weapon style you use. Currently level 22 and town level 7. Defeated my first dragon even with a 5 skull difficulty, I choose to rebuild my town and upgrade my Smitty first. High armory rating helps along with enchantments make fighting easier, magic helps and I do have about 3 spells I use frequently but I’m more of a hand to hand combat style and use perks literally got my first spell st lvl 20 in which it started getting a little challenging but very fun. The game literally gives you so much to begin with without ever needing to buy in app purchases. It does help but save those gems they are very useful when you need them. Upgrade your chest inventory it’ll only help you, upgrade shops and they’ll carry a lot more coin to sell & salvage. Open elder and golden chest when you sleep. All in all great game for a beta early release keep up the great work!

Game breaking bug here. This game is amazing but I’ve encountered a bug or glitch that causes the game to be almost unplayable. This issue arises from having another app open called “Microsoft teams” which allows for connecting with work members for meetings, while using the app in the background, I put my phone up to my ear to hear, rotating the phones orientation and causing the screen to fade black while in the blades app/game not long after doing quests and purchasing the -60% off legendary chest. I don’t recall the exact thing I was doing in-game, but I believe I was exiting a quest area (going back to town). The bug or glitch disabled all user interface in the town area and I can only access the arena or abyss by closing the app and restarting, I have tried all the ways I know of to fix bugs and glitches, including closing and reopening the app and restarting my phone. I have deleted the elder scrolls: Blades and I am redownloading it in hopes to fix this issue. I have sent a ticket out to Bethesda under “in-game issue”, “item issue” as I wasn’t sure exactly where to go to report a UI issue. Thank you, and please help me!!!

Completely unbalanced. Ok guys- to begin the game looks great in places-is fun to play- and will keep you busy for a few days. HOWEVER——once you reach a point - maybe level 12 or 13- everything changes. The difficulty ramps up so quickly that you will soon burn up all your resources to just get through a couple quests !! You will need a health potion for just about each enemy you face- your weapons won’t do enough consistent damage- and you cannot upgrade any armor or weapon past a certain a certain level because you cannot farm any resources. Also - your magic is worthless because you cannot cast quick enough to get it off in time...so forget that option. The game seems to skip the middle ground and goes straight to forcing you to pay for advanced gear. And also- the gold it takes to repair your gear is completely unbalanced compared to what you can find along the way. I wonder if the developers have even played this game - much less listened to the reviews of actual players who have attempted this game. Here’s you bottom line——wait for diablo to hit the mobile devices- or maybe FROMSOFTWARE will throw us a bone.... i wanted this game to be rewarding- but it fails for me.

Trash Village Economy. I love this game and there are a lot of things that could be done to improve it but for now I just wanna focus on the village economy. So far I could say that the economy in the village is really bad and stupidly wrong. The store villagers do not generate gold which makes it hard to sell items to them. The only way they get told is through the transactions that you make with them (buying stuff) which also for a seller is frustrating and not beneficial at all. Plus, I tried and even spending money through repairing equipment doesn’t do anything... which I think it’s illogical. In summary I think that I would enjoy more this game if I could be able to sell stuff freely, which is not the case and even salvaging seem unbalanced (not beneficial at all) the only use I give it is to get rid of equipment for more space. If I could sell stuff it would give me access to a faster grow and a satisfactory feeling of success when doing stupid jobs since I could get some profit from them, and also increases the probability that I will keep doing them, plus it could give a better use to the time we have while waiting for enchanting, crafting, tempering, etc equipment or even constructing.

Milking the Franchise. I love Elder Scrolls games, and I like Blades, but everything costs way too much for even the simplest things. I understand that app games are designed to make money, but there is a point when the greed of the developer takes all the fun out of the game. You have to work way too hard for very little advance or loot. Example: Why are gems needed to temper equipment? It seems just an excuse to buy more things that don’t seem relevant to what is being done, and even ridiculous items like decorations cost as much as buildings do in the beginning. Everything hyper-inflates in cost as you gain town prestige also. Why? The sheer cost of everything makes me only interested in this game, as a once-in-a-while game to play, as compared to Skyrim... the game I couldn’t put down, and still play to this day. I am disappointed that this franchise is going downhill because of greed. Strike one was making new Elder Scrolls games mmo’s. Playing with idiots online is not fun for me, and takes away from the feeling of being immersed in the fantasy. I feel that Blades is strike two. Skyrim and Oblivion were works of art. Graphics and animations are stunning, but gameplay is being sacrificed. Why ruin the recipe?

Love it. My 5 favorite games are Oblivion, Skyrim, Morrowind, Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Origins; so I was so excited to see Blades. I’m not a big fan of games that have in app purchases but so far this is not bad. I have played for about two days. I did purchase one bundle for 4.99 but I don’t feel like I had to to be able to play, and I felt it was worth how much fun I was having. You arrive at your town of birth to find it recently raided and sacked by mercenaries. You get to help find and rescue scattered villagers and help rebuild. Building takes time, sometimes a few hours, opening a chest takes time (5sec for a would expect chest, up to 6hrs real time for a gold chest) or you can use gems that you’ve either found or purchased with real money. If you have the time it’s no big deal. I can see push notifications would be handy to let you know the chest is open. I miss that there is no map feature (unless I just didn’t see it) and no bow. Otherwise I like the combat for it being on my phone. For exploring I like it wide screen and combat I like it tall screen. Great graphics!

Good game and getting better. So far, every update is improving the game, keeping it balanced, and keeping my attention. The most recent update with jewelry has been great. I appreciate the way the game structured so you are not forced to purchase anything to enjoy all parts of the game. The last update did motivate me to make a purchase just out of appreciation. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because it’s still in ‘Early Access’ but I’m looking forward to more improvements and the Arena being unlocked. If I can make a suggestion: expand the Challenges to include one Dailey and one Weekly challenge to mirror the daily and weekly quests. These challenges could reward a level appropriate item or materials instead of gold just to make it different. The challenges could be as simple as completing a certain number of regular challenges, a certain number of jobs, or it could be the same as the current challenges but with higher much requirements. I think that might be an easy way to improve the game. I love what you’re doing with it to date, keep it up!

Excellent Elder Scrolls app!!!. If you liked Skyrim, and wish you could play from your phone, this one’s for you. The game uses many meshes, items, and even voice actors from the popular Skyrim game. That makes this feel like a well-made Skyrim mod. The major difference is that this is NOT an open-world game. iPhone apps juuust can’t handle that. So instead imagine being trapped in Helgen. You can only leave to complete repetitive “dungeons”, and you must rebuild the burnt-up town. Dungeons seem to be a randomly generated series of sections that may repeat and two dungeons may be very alike, but they ARE beautifully detailed. Enemies are also repetitive. Finding chests is like a gift/curse combo because yay stuff, but you have to wait a very VERY long time to open some chests, and they pile up. I guess the app wants to make some money which is the purpose of most apps, it I think this will shortly become unplayable if I don’t pay because of the limited space for chests. Anyway for now it’s just awesome to have some fun, well-made Elder Scrolls content! So over all, despite my impending chest problem, I LOVE IT!!!

Difficulty Spikes. I should preface this by saying I’m a huge fan of other Elder Scrolls titles, so I went into this with open eyes. I was excited by the idea of being able to explore this universe, even if it was abridged, on my phone, and at first I enjoyed it; quests and jobs were satisfying if a little repetitive, real-world time delays got a little annoying, but overall it was a fun little game to play for a few hours. Now though, I’ve hit an absolutely insane difficulty spike, after playing for maybe two days (level 12). In what seems to be some sort of overcorrection, where in earlier levels enemies were quite easy or at least not absurdly challenging, once you get to the Bloodgaurd story line the quests become insane. Even the jobs are impossible, including those ranked very low in difficulty. It gets to the point were after two enemies I’ve either got to spend all of my health potions or I’ve essentially resigned myself to an early exit. This won’t work, it doesn’t keep people coming back to the game, it’s unduly frustrating, and it takes away from actually engaging with the plot and in tinkering with your town.

Α little frustrated. I have been playing this for awhile. I’ve felt for the most part it was well balanced...some hard times and some easier times during the level up process. The new sigil events were also pretty well balanced until this latest update where now they are next to impossible to get through. I’ve managed to get to 45th level, I have a level 10 town, so my combat skills and magic are I think pretty good. I have daedric armor, total 730 armor, 330 blocking shield, shield armor with a plus 5 bonus, and daedric weapons with level 8 elemental enchantments, and these characters kill me in 5 swings in the first level. They only way I can get through these now would be if i had 20 healing potions. After trying all the events this week, its almost not worth even trying to do them. I get there are some really great items to purchase, but now you’ve made these so difficult that you have to be over level 50 to do them or more....would appreciate a return to a little more balance please. The game otherwise great, good graphics, etc. This most recent change....kind of extreme.

Updated—PvP great addition. Updated review: the newest releases to introduce PvP has made this game tremendous. Bethesda could still squash some annoying bugs, prevent crashes, reduce lag times, and improve balance among weapon groups (particularly light weapons), but overall this is now my favorite all-time game on iOS! Old review: I eagerly awaited this game and downloaded the early release on Day 1. It didn’t disappoint as a gorgeous, engrossing first-person ARPG—great for a fan of Bethesda games like me. The developers have continually improved the product by fixing bottlenecks in chest rewards, making gems more readily available so grinding without paying is more feasible, and tweaking combat difficulties. The recent Witches Festival event included a major overhaul of magic and skills. AND: There are a finite number of quests, the “endless” Abyss becomes repetitive, and gear improvements ultimately becomes marginal. I’d love to see more content after level 50, or even—imagine!—the ability to have more than one save file. Overall, fabulous game.

Can’t give it five stars yet.. This game has beautiful graphics and an intuitive movement system that seems easy to get used to. Ive been playing for about a month on early access and have enjoyed the game for the most part. Micro transaction games are the unfortunate norm and this is no exception. My main gripe is the real dollar cost of items offered. 10$ for an epic weapon that you will have to replace quickly is a bit excessive even for an adult such as myself. The other annoying bit is the skull difficulty rating. Getting suckered into a daily job where a cave troll is the first creature you are challenged with is not cool. I can kill most things with my character but not the cave trolls. They seem a bit too tough to show up against a level 20 character wearing exquisite dwarves plate armor and easily kill that that character while it carries a nice shield. I do not enjoy a challenge but that is frustrating. Maybe some adjustments are still needed. I play ESO and loved Skyrim. I had high hopes for this game and preordered it. I’m not thinking this one will be one I play for very long due to the cost.

Subtly biased to make you spend money on chests. While this is a high quality game reminiscent of Skyrim, it is nonetheless frustrating to play if you don’t want to pay anything as its economy is subtly biased and a few well chosen resources are made quite scarce. I have in mind garlic for potions (especially healing ones) and copper for upgrading the stores such as smith and alchemist. I very patiently went to level 14 and town level 3 without paying anything, doing a lot of jobs ontop of the main quest missions (which I completed even though being warned by the game every time that the mission is too hard for my character’s level) so as to scavenge as much as possible but it’s very difficult: copper is doled out in big chests on dangerous quest items for which I did need some healing potions that were hard to make due to garlic shortage. Having more money than I cared to spend didn’t solve the problem because the alchemist store has very few supplies to sell at any time. Buying chests would solve the problem but my solution was to delete the app and start a new Skyrim character on my PS3 instead. Oh well.

A game that shows promise. Blades is pretty much as good as TES could get, at this point on mobile, with a few exceptions. I gave the gave 4 stars, nonetheless, due to the immersion the game brings to the table, the graphical detail that pushes current hardware to the max, in some cases, and the sheer joy of the combat and character development functions of the game...but the combat can be bittersweet, at times, due to a current flaw that absolutely must be fixed by devs in order for this to be completely worthy of bearing the name The Elder Scrolls. The touch screen function occasionally and annoyingly detects an attempted weapon swing in the lower right corner of the screen while disabling the ability for you to use your skills and spells!!! This is unacceptable. Also, Elder Scrolls without Lorebooks is not Elder Scrolls at all. This is essential and must be added. Log July 6th 2019: Game is improving, with increased addition of new NPC voices. Still no lorebooks as of yet that I can find. I may not be far enough in though. Game lacks story depth IMO. This may be fixed upon future patches

Terrible grab and your money!!!. This is the most up front game I’ve seen that is designed to only allow you to continue by dumping more money into the game after original purchase. You literally cannot proceed without buying more from the online store. For starters, you can’t self heal in any real fashion. There’s food but your not allowed to keep any spares you find and don’t need at that time. Never have I seen any RPG that won’t allow you to heal. Therefore, you’re required to use extremely light healings “abilities” and those only work if “timed” right. Your gear will NEVER come for free meaning all the “treasure chest” give is gold, materials for crafting gear, and ALWAYS gear that’s too low for you to use so you sell them...o.O Also, you can level past 50 but there’s point because NOTHING INCREASES. Your health, stamina, magic, and skill points all stay the same. How’s that for further screwing you over. So all in all, it’s a P2P game unless you have no life and spend 10 hours/day playing to collect the materials necessary to craft gear. Have you ever played a game where you’ll never ever find a weapon that’s powerful enough to actually be useful? How about a game that takes weeks to gain the materials for enchanting just to realize your enchant bonus is random. STAY AWAY FROM THE MOST WORTHLESS GAME EVER!!!!

Reviews lie. This is not for the impatient teenager or middle schooler who wants to play a sword fighting game. This is for the teenager or young adult or even adults in general who enjoy real in depth RPG games. It’s not as in depth as a computer RPG or a console elder scrolls but it is magnificent still. Although one thing I would recommend is a more broad approach to areas you do quests in. It’s pretty much the same dungeons with different or stronger monsters as you progress with the subtle extension during main quests. But still I’ve been playing a week now and I’m level 25 with matching armor, town level 6. You can progress if you take the time to play the game how it’s made to be played. I haven’t spent any real money either, open your gold chests when you sleep, your silver chests whenever you aren’t on the game and your wood chests when you’re playing. Pay attention to the race of your character and the bonuses that come with it. Pay attention to the weaknesses of your enemy. Use your poisons and sometimes take a chance on missions that are max difficulty as they prove to be quite easy sometimes.

Bad customer service/tech support. So the game is good, bad customer service/tech support for in game problems. I really did enjoy playing it. That is until this last update. Since the update I haven’t been able to finish buildings, start building new buildings, or upgrading any buildings already complete. I also don’t have access to the menu when I am in town, I basically have to exit the game and go to the start page to do the quests or anything else. When I submitted a ticket explaining my issue and that I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating my phone, making sure the game is up to date, etc. I got a generic “control ATL delete” response with a if these things don’t work go to the message board and find the answer from other players that may have had your problem. It is a shame that they can’t or won’t actually fix this problem. Basically if you download this game don’t spend money in the shop because you may have to delete the game and restart over, which will mean losing everything you brought. If I can’t fix this issue I will be deleting the game for good and chalk up the money spent to a waste.

Comments for the Developer. The game is based off the games we have all come to love growing up and the potential is there! needs to be the quest less endless exploration where you just Rome and gather. More custom skill choices and needs way more enchantment possibilities and options! Different spells to chose from! Quests the game sets for you can be at an ungodly impossible high level( I’m level 37 one of them recommended level was 49) there is some pay to win mentalities like all phone games too! ( needs to be more content for pay that they already have established) I get that free game play don’t cover cost to make or cover bills but give the player something worth contributing to!!!!! My hope is they expand the game make it worth while Bethesda is not new to the game industry and has made many amazing games my hope is they don’t drag that exemplary name thro the dirt by making this a profit machine that leaves the player hanging. This being said always end on a positive note the graphics are great combat set up is good and will look like morrowind or Skyrim graphically! Lots of potential I hope for great things!

Great game, but hard to progress. I’ve played since the early access and have loved the game, and been a huge fan of the elder scrolls games. I’m really pleased that their are no longer timers for opening chests and loot comes much easier than before. I do have to say though, sometimes I do still run into obstacles. There are times I sign on and see that all my job listings are 7 levels plus ahead of my character, and I can’t really keep progressing if I can’t complete jobs in order to complete quests that are higher level. And I can tell you personally, I don’t mind grinding, in fact I love it. But this isn’t much as grinding as it is annoying somewhat. And as far as arena goes, I like the challenge. Great gameplay. The town aspect brings a nice charm to the gameplay and it’s really nice seeing your town progress. All together, still loving the game, just hoping for a fix on job levels being closer to character level. Thanks for making a wonderful peace of work available to everyone :) 10/10 would recommend Update: Actually getting near impossible to level up or do any quests or jobs :(

Game won’t load. Played this game a while ago, liked it but started playing other things and stopped playing it altogether. My friend convinced me to redownload it and told me how much better it is and how you’ve improved the combat system and took out the daily energy limits. I was excited and tried to play it three separate times and it wouldn’t load in, one time for thirty minutes straight. After that I gave up, and kept trying to figure out what’s wrong in my settings or in my app settings that’s not allowing me to play. Can’t find anything and would appreciate any information on how to resolve this because I’m excited to play blades. Someone online suggested turning off the game center app and that worked for him but it did not work for me, immediately after reopening the app and starting to load it just popped up the game center login out of the blue and even after logging in it still wouldn’t load, it was a little frustrating. So please if Bethesda or anyone here knows how to fix this please help.

Kim’s review of Blades. Even though the game is still in the development stage, it’s incredibly well made. The game gives you character customization choices in which you can choose from the ten Elder Scrolls races and have customization choices that mirror those in Skyrim. The game takes place after the Empire has been defeated by the Thalmor, and the player character is the last surviving member of the Blades, who has escaped back to his/her home town only to find it has been razed. These events kickstart the adventure as you work to rebuild your home town and investigate the attack. The graphics are quite good considering that this is a cell phone game. I found myself enjoying both the storyline and the characters with whom you interact. The game isn’t complete yet, so there are lines which are not yet voiced, no map, no 3rd person view available, and in combat your weapons sort of float in that there is no visible hand gripping them. Even though this game is still being developed, I highly recommend it, and despite the above issues, the game is still incredibly complete with both character and town leveling systems.

Blades by Bethesda. I have spent no money on this game so far and am already at level 20. There were times when I thought there was nothing to do and jobs were above what I could do but I could always grind it out in the abyss. I’ve swapped out to Orchish equipment and keep a supply of heal potions in case I run in to trouble in the quests. One thing they do not have is dual wielding, but hoping for that later. It’s not as open world as Skyrim but what do you expect for a phone app. I have gone to playing this the most on my phone and have mostly dropped the other apps and maybe will play them if I am tempering or opening a chest. Those that are spending money on this game I think are just impatient. I can wait for things to come available as long as there is something to do. You can jump in and out of the Abyss to go after what you really need and sometimes the quests will give you what you are looking for. Sometimes you can get around the monsters to get the quest done. They will chase after you and sometime you run into another monster down a hall and end up fighting both of them. Great game!

Download Addiction. I continue to download this game every other week or so, forgetting I’ve already had my hopes and dreams crushed. I wanted to love it, I still want to love it. I wanted it to be everything I wasn’t missing but needed anyway. It’s just not. I just can’t get behind the first person fighting and not just because it’s first person, but because my sword is literally hanging out in the air by itself waiting for my finger to become the characters arm to swing. It’s like a blind person wrote down their idea of what VR is but nobody asked questions they just ran with whatever scribble they could decipher. It’s like a PS1 game with beautiful 2020 PC graphics but you have to run it in windowed mode in an AIM chat box using the AIM guy as your character and it’s using Flash but Adobe keeps popping up and asking you to update Java. Just so we’re clear, it doesn’t do any of those things but this story I’ve written was more enjoyable than the game. I mean, in a way, good job. I’m not going to say you’re money hungry or stealing content from other games, because it’s a mobile game and all but you guys knew what you wanted and it’s probably all original... Fortunately it’s all original and hopefully nobody steals your ideas because they’re terrible.

Love it but…. Just want to say love the game and I think I may have written a review before but I was wondering since I can change my race and gender and how I look can y’all make it how we can change our names, the name of our town and our avatar picture because I have restarted many times because I couldn’t and played as a Bosmer once and Nord once and an Argonian twice through the ability to turn Game Center off but I resented made my second Argonian restarted for the 4th time but I don’t want to restart and yes even though I can change race and gender etc, I want to be able to change my name and my towns name and my avatar. Because I want to become a Bosmer again and not restart because I’m planning to use the same skills and stuff as I did my Argonian but having an Argonian name, the name of a city in Black Marsh and the avatar of an Argonian I guess is kind of off putting I thinks that’s the word. But anyways can y’all I don’t mind if it cost gems or is free but if it doesn’t cost gems just as it does to change race gender etc I say have it around 50 as well that’s all and thank you.

It’s ok. It’s a fun game, but why do you have to build stuff and everyone has to do everything for you? You are pretty much useless... you can’t make potions yourself, can’t smelt/craft, can’t enchant; everyone does it for you and you have to spend a bunch of materials from chests that take forever to open (but you can empty your wallet to make it go faster). Oh and if you want to reset your skills/attributes you don’t need to grind for some gold or anything, just give them all your irl money and it’ll be no problem. Also, the liches are sooooo over powered. They regenerate pretty much as fast as you can damage them, making them near invincible, and they do by far the most damage from any other enemy. Balance the game a bit... every time I see a lich, I either leave or try to run around it. Also make something to be able to delete/get rid of chests... I don’t want a ton of silver and gold chests at a time because then I don’t have any room for a lot of wooden chests to open between the longer ones. If you made the game online, you wouldn’t have to make it so pay to play, because people will buy cosmetic stuff (especially if they know that means the game will not be pay to play).

Love it. For a new game it has its ups and downs but it’s a good game some of the downs are it has a delay on the shield when your under attack and it keeps telling me that my connection is lost and reboots, there is a delay when you hit the Magic’s, the game glitches a lot but it just needs a reload Some suggestions that I have tho are you should be able to get health potions while in game play instead of foods, it would be nice for the town to have a map of the town with icons showing the buildings, there should be more secrets in the levels that should make the levels even longer, and in town it would be cool to see the people do something besides just walk around town like (gardening, swimming, lighting fires, ect..) and have the game into night mode at night instead of always being day, making it more social so you can invite friends to help you with your quests and in battle, better detail on graphics when you upgrade your wepons. All in all this is a great game and I love the graphics

Fun yet needs fixed.. The game is fun and immersive up to a point..once you get to high levels it becomes too challenging and expensive to craft and enchant and just becomes frustrating. The game pushes you along for the need of higher level stuff based on character level and eliminates lower level materials all together, forcing you to to craft and enchanting the higher level stuff. Abyss is based on character level so once you get deeper into the abyss your progress stops and it just becomes a waste of time and effort. The enchant system is aggravating and not very rewarding, the crafting times are very long. The worst part is that there is still no character storage after 3 years of game development, storage chest or house storage is needed, carrying around all kinds of equipment is aggravating and you sell or salvage by mistake often. My advice is to stay at low level so the game will stay fun and challenging and not nearly as expensive to craft and enchant or have long wait times...after level 30 in my opinion the game goes downhill and is no longer as fun and rewarding .

A Little Miffed: edited. So I’ve been waiting well over the 24 hour time period most people say it takes them to get early access. I understand they can’t let everyone on at once, but a little communication on how long I’ll have to wait would be great. Seems like Bethesda is struggling in that department, especially with the confusion about the iPhone 6. I know people say it was on the website, but it really should’ve been on the App Store as well. If they only cater to hardcore fans who crawl on their website every day, they are going to have a hard time staying relevant. Add the fact that it was already released late...you just expect a little better from a major publisher, although that seems to be the the way Bethesda is headed lately. Hope I can change my star rating when I actually get to play the game 🙄 Finally playing game. It’s very fun. Can’t wait for full version to come out. I do hate how there seems to be a response delay after clicking to unlock chests, that makes you accidentally use gems to open them immediately. Seems a little too convenient for that not to be happening by design...either way, they need to fix it.

Engaging, free, and easy to pick up. This is a beautiful, simple yet engaging, game that is comparable to console games. Of course, as a mobile game, there isn’t as much open exploring, but the dungeons and other locations allow for some exploring and have a few hidden rooms that are fun to find. There is enough narrative to get you emotionally invested and enough combat to keep you active. The gameplay is easy and simplistic, but not to a point where you’ll be bored. The graphics are phenomenal for a mobile game (playing on an iPhone X). I have a had a wonderful time building up skills, finding armor and weaponry, and helping rebuild my town. I have not had to buy anything to feel like I get the full experience of the game. You can easily, without frustration, play this game without spending any money on any extra things. If anything, I would say that some of the quests and jobs get a little repetitive, especially in the beginning when you don’t have enough experience to do or unlock harder quests. But every game has some grinding, right?

Loading screen time. Dear Bethesda, I remember when I played Skyrim. I was Lvl. 58 and next thing you know, my PS3 wouldn’t work. But that’s not the point. The point is I love Skyrim. I loved Skyrim and played Skyrim so much that I started failing my classes. Anyway I just wanted to say that I installed TES: Blades for 1.3 GB. I thought I would able to play it but the loading screen had other plans. I opened the game and the loading screen took SO LONG. When I say SO LONG I’m talking all night long. It was maybe around 11 or 12 at the time and I open the game and when I woke up the next day, IT WAS STILL LOADING. Please, can you do something about the problem? I’ve tried erasing all data from the game and I’ve even tried uninstall and reinstalling it back but it still didn’t work. I watched TES: Blades trailer and TES: Blades Gameplay Walkthrough. And to be honest, the game looks really good!! But I can’t play it. I just want to play it. I REALLY REALLY HOPE you see this review. Please help. AND SHOUTOUT TO TODD HOWARD FOR MAKING SKYRIM SUCH A GREAT GAME. I EVEN ORDERED THE ELDER SCROLLS: LEGENDARY EDITION. 5 OUT OF 5. 100% GAME RECOMMENDATION. From: Malik s. Mayfield - 13 year old boy, Hartsville, South Carolina To: Bethesda/Bethesda Studios, Rockville, Maryland

Pretty good. Games fun has some issues that I’ll get to later on. It’s fun hard and some times incredibly annoying and others it’s pretty easy. Now the base of the game is build you’re town upgrade armor and weapons and spend two hours grinding for a small upgrade repeat and that my friend is where p2w climbs out of its black abyss to try to tempt you to spend money. Now the p2w aspect of the game isn’t to bad it just makes the game easier to progress so it’s fine still a beatable game without paying any money. The games Combat is fun. In my personal opinion watching my town grow is awesome just that feeling of success is rewarding. Now the only things I don’t like about this game is the fact that there’s no offline mode for when I can’t connect to the internet or play coop mode with other players those are the only problems in my opinion if those were added I would change my review to five. Even if they just add an offline mode I’ll change it to a five star review but i think if you added both it would make the game way better overall good and very enjoyable game.

Good to kill some time. Enjoying it more than I thought. Open the 5sec chests while playing, and save the hour+ ones to click open before logging out. Don’t spend any gems especially during early game. They seem to come pretty regularly, and you’ll have enough for purple or blue legendary chests with amazing equipment. I’ve bought 2 already playing free for a week, and the gear is amazing. You can upgrade all the gear in game from white(worst) to purple(best) Try to save your revive spells for Abyss which unlocks early. Don’t push your luck if you aren’t leveled & geared. I accidentally used all mine early reviving & dying to the same enemy. Go to Abyss once you have an alchemist who can make you more healing potions. Each level deeper gives you XP & Gold modifier. While every 4 or 5 enemies killed gives you better & better chests, and crafting items. I’ve had no need to spend money on it, but if I’m still playing in a month I’ll drop $5 just to pay for the game if i continue to enjoy it. 1 star off as I have only seen a few interior assets, and only 1 tile sets. More could be further in though.

This game “should” be a 10 but.... Blades is an amazing looking game. It’s gameplay is very smooth on my iPhone XS MAX. I preordered this game the day it was announced and have been waiting patiently. I’m in the early access and I was so excited until I needed gems. I’ve been playing a lil game called Star Wars galaxy of heroes for the last 3 years. People complain about their micro transaction but you can still progress. I’m no stranger to dropping a couple of dollars in a game I like but in ESB it’s out of control. Changes need to be made. In Blades, My one “BIG” and only complaint is the micro transactions. CHEESE AND RICE AND ALL THATS HOLY! It’s ridiculous. Just about everything is behind a gem or time wall that cost gems to get through. It’s pretty depressing. I am currently level 22 and I have spent ($40) money since I was granted access. I don’t regret it but it’s at a point now that to progress I have to pay in some way shape or form. That’s not fun. It’s a well made and beautiful game but the micro transactions is ruining my experience. **Update** I’m level 43 now. The game is beautiful. Content has gone pretty dry and the developers seem to have poor communication with the ESB community. Small updates and shadow updates. It’s in a weird place.

Amazing feel and look, frustrating progression. The overall concept of this game (especially for a mobile game) is phenomenal. I love the graphics and the ability to “customize” your own city. I do wish there was more you could do for customization, such as being able to add more styles of buildings (a tavern might be cool). I have been getting a little frustrated at how hard the game gets in regard to questing and leveling up. At level 25, I theoretically should be able to handle a 2-star quest without having to burn through multiple potions, but the difficulty of these quests is so unbalanced. The arena is also terribly unbalanced. I got queued up against someone who was practically twice my level, which should not happen. I will also add that it costs quite a bit to reset your skills and, due to the style or skills progression, I’d assume has to happen at least a few times throughout the game. I will attest to the other complaints about repair costs being way too high. In addition to that, the price for building anything drastically increases as you try to build more, which kind of halts the ability to truly customize your town.

This is normally five stars for me.... However, they need to release an update to fix the river snake quest line. It’s not been working for quite sometime for me. I’ve played since early release, and for the most part, this game is amazing. If you’re wondering whether or not to get it, do it. Start your game and by the time you reach where I’m stuck they might have a fix out. Seriously good game, minus the microtransactions they push. UPDATE: Fully aware they’re working for release on all platforms, but considering this was their original release, you’d think they’d put more effort in. Like I said, I’m sure they’re busy, but this is crazy. I’m wasting time on half of my quests because there will be a random “By the Nine!” interruption when the quest should complete, but instead I’m out 5 to 10 minutes a pop, and my rewards. There is no clairvoyance when it finally restores where I was in the quest and I cannot complete anything other than arena quests as a result. I love and have always loved the Elders games, but between micro transactions everywhere and these truly crap glitches, it’s starting to sour.

Crashes. So I had the game for about a week and everything was running smoothly. I had managed to get my town to level 3 and my character to level 10 before I ran out of materials. At this point I hadn’t built a workshop yet so I decided to buy gems. I didn’t need to but a buddy of mines told me to save them for the chest because they go on sale often. So, I decided to buy extra with real money and spend that instead. I went for the 500 for $4.99 and as soon as I confirmed the purchase it sent me back to the load screen and the game immediately crashes. I logged out and logged back in, connected to the internet, restarted the game, restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled it but nothing worked. The game crashes every time the load screen finished. I went online and found a reddit post full of people with the same problem. The post was almost 2 months old and Bethesda still hasn’t done anything about it. I don’t even know if I got the gems and so far I haven’t been able to get my money back. It was fun until I couldn’t play anymore and I’m high key disappointed since I really did enjoy the overall game. Moral of the story: don’t spend real money if you want to continue to play the game.

Years Playing.. I’ve playing for a month now and player support is unavailable. It ends up with a white screen with some cookies failure nonsense. I made the above review 3 weeks ago and still no help available. I also seem unable to send reviews. I am a grand master of a full guild and also can’t kick inactives out of the guild. Let’s keep in mind I paid 50 gems to start the guildI have no control over. A little help please. One thing that does work just fine is if you want to buy something. I’m getting a bit miffed at this point. Above was when I started now I’m level 63 and retiring from grand master top 25 guild. The ability to send notifications within the guild would be nice to check warriors continued presence and activity. More choices for your warrior to change up appearances and wardrobe/ armor. The more options the more interesting the game stays over time. All the layouts are too familiar now and the only thing left is the arena.

Can’t even tell that it’s a game preview. Basically a whole game and the improvements pushed through only make it more complete. Been playing this genuine quality game. Makes me wonder if other Elder Scrolls ports will ever become available. The music, the storyline, and the graphics are top quality. What I would fix: They recently reduced the time on how long it takes to open silver chests from 3 hours to 1 hour which made it feel a little more balanced but if I had to continue along that line of improvement, I would decrease the 6 hour time on Golden chests to 3 hours and reduce the elder chest from 12 to 6 hours. Haven’t gotten much higher level of a chest yet to learn the length of time on a legendary chest for instance, but I imagine it’s probably a day. I would reduce it because I think it would make it all feel more accessible and people would be more inclined to make in app purchases if they knew it wouldn’t take days to open what they just purchased. Devs, keep up the good work! The game is amazing.

Great game but crashes a lot. This is a fun game very much in keeping with the Elder Scrolls line up. Fans of those games will be right at home. Newcomers will find the game very easy to learn with just minimal tutorials built into the gameplay. The storyline is decent as well. Although the world is not as completely open to walk as freely everywhere as we are familiar with from the PC games, it is expected with a mobile game to have a more directed path with less graphic load. That said, the graphics are still quite good, as is the audio (although I still turn the background music down and leave SFX up by personal preference). My only problem with the game that caused me to drop the score is that it crashes out about every ten minutes. That said, the auto save is very frequent and I’ve never lost much, but it gets annoying. I’m on an iPhone 11 Pro Max fully updated and have rebooted to clear anything that might be drawing memory in the background and it didn’t help. Bethesda needs to work on the stability, but otherwise it’s a great game.

Great game but needs some things. Now I already know this game shouldn’t even be free for its amazing quality and how highly developed it is. With that being said I’m not really trying to say it’s a bad game. But man it would be great if the game didn’t require levels to get a good weapon and good armor, if I happen to get good quick enough and sacrifice a bunch of stuff just to get a good weapon I should be able to use it and not have to be a high level. Pretty sure that won’t ever change but still the creators should think about how dumb that is considering no other elder scrolls requires a level to use a good weapon. Also to those getting into the game that just might happen to read this before downloading, you can’t go inside places and there’s no free world, you just get a town to roam around and then you teleport to the missions in which if you try to escape to any type of free world you go to your town. No free world idk I kinda was expecting some type of small map to roam around besides the town 😅 To anyone that read this thank you for your time

Awesome, but keeps crashing. This game is truly great, it’s like a pocket Skyrim, which I think was the aim. One of the problems, though, is it ends up being slightly restrictive in gameplay options, due to the health being kinda low compared to damage output by enemies in quests above the easiest rank. It requires you to maximize health in skills, spells, and armor, which can be difficult to do early on. It’s tough to find renewable resources as they change every quest, and the shops don’t always have what you need. (For example, I went on several difficult quests and after a while, finished my health potions. I went to buy and brew some more, and promptly realized I only had enough for two tiny health potions, and there were only three at the shop. It made out for five, and not enough left over for poison resistance.) I might just be doing it wrong, though... The other thing, that I KNOW I’m not doing wrong, is that the app keeps crashing on me. I’ve lost my progress on several quests after crashes. Connectivity doesn’t seem to be a problem, as I have a stable one that doesn’t usually fluctuate. I hope this gets fixed in a future update.
