Great for quick use, but pretty limited capabilities.. I use this app to list urgent tasks (whereas I use Google Keep to log tasks that aren’t necessarily timely). I like that it is simple and straightforward for this purpose; I can quickly add and cross off new tasks. It is a bit cumbersome at times. I liked the idea that I could add sub-tasks, but you can’t check then off if you are clicked on the master task in edit mode; you can only delete the sub-task entirely or complete the master task, but makes the sub-task capability kind of pointless. Thus, I stopped using sub-tasks. My feed is now very full and unorganized, which is a bummer. One other complaint is that you can’t add a voice memo like you can on Keep. I do think this app has a lot of potential, though, and Google does a good job of making reasonable updates without too much time passing by, in my opinion. I assume it will be adjusted to fit these criteria in the bear future.

Simple, integrated, just right. I've looked for an easy way to manage short-term tasks for years. Google tasks just might be that app. It's simple to create single tasks and small multi-step projects with sub-tasks. Like Google calendar, you can create flexible recurring tasks too. One feature I love is the re-display (notification) of tasks scheduled for a previous day but not marked "complete". This helps me not lose track of lower priority tasks that I couldn't get to on the targeted due date. Note that I don't use this app for complex, larger scale projects but I don't think that's the intended use.

Great App could use se better visuals. The app is great, it does it's job and does it well. It's very convinient and it's cross platform availability like most Google products is always a plus. Google always has great and simple visual style on all of its products but I believe this one is too simplistic. I would like the ability to view a page with all of my lists rather than the menu from the bottom that allows you to switch between lists. Also maybe add some preference features to that like colors and small symbols to distinguish between lists, much like Apple's Reminders app has. Beside the personal visual preferences the app great and would recommend to anyone who likes to make anTo Do list and hang out tasks

Helping me through college.. This app coupled with google calendar is such a good combination for students to schedule their classes and have an overview of the assignments they need to complete. The only downside to the app is that I can’t change the color of how the events/tasks appear on google calendar (though this isn’t detrimental in reference to the app’s usability at all!). I highly recommend this app to students, those who lead chaotic lives and want to bring in some order, and even those who live relatively stress free lives who just like to plan and schedule!

Love the update desktop. Tasks is good, but not great. I love the google calendar integration, but I don’t like that I can only do two layers of tasks. I have so many more layers… also, I’d like it to display the nest address in the google calendar pop up when I click on a task, but it only shows which task list it’s on. I have to go to the task list to see the nest order. I have certain subtasks that are identical, but under multiple different tasks. I’d like to be able to see which one it is without having to write the task in each sub task. 5 stars is for this new desktop update. Unless it just wasn’t working, as of today I see a day update of my task list. I absolutely love that consolidation. This was well executed. The tasks platform deserves some love from google to make it the robust tool I know they are capable of, but every update seems to bring noticeable improvements and this one was particularly noted! Pleassseeee add more subtasks and display the nesting order!

Reuse a list. I love this app and have been telling everyone about since I discovered it! The only thing I would find REALLY helpful is to be able to make a list that I can re-use over and over. For example I would love to have a master grocery list that I could check off and then when I leave the store, uncheck or reuse the same list for the next visit. I’ve also used this for bills, and would like to do the same thing with that list instead of creating it over again each month. Maybe there’s a way to do this that I haven’t figured out yet, but if there’s not this would be an AMAZING feature to add on the next update! Otherwise I highly recommended this app 😊

Tasks PC (Gmail) User Interface. I think Tasks, when used on both the PC and the iPhone, is a very useful tool. The ability to maintain a simple “to do” list across these devices is simple functionality, but I haven’t seen anything else like this from Apple or Microsoft that works as documented. My only dissatisfaction is within the PC GUI (in chrome and Gmail). It seems like this could be much more user-friendly, especially in regard to enlarging the frame in which the tasks are displayed. I was very pleased that alerts and notifications work properly on the two synchronized platforms. This is another thing that the other software companies can’t get correct for some reason. One other trivial comment: I don’t understand why the functionality of Reminders and Tasks both exist. The function of having reminders and tasks appear separately on the Google calendar seems redundant to me, but maybe I’m missing something.

Beautiful, long-awaited app, fulfills my wishlist. I was very excited to learn that Google Tasks was finally available as an app yesterday, so I downloaded it right away and was pleased by the simplicity and functionality. I wonder what took so long. It is super satisfying to watch the to-do list item "pop" away when you check off the bubble. I can switch between my personal and work accounts. It remembers the specific list I selected to view last and loads that one vs. requiring me to change it each time. Previously, I had been using a mix of my Google calendar, another calendar app only for its tasks feature, the iPhone reminders app, and an old-school index card to combine all the specific features I like from each. I am glad this app helps sync some of that up in one central place now ☺️

Please add a way to search for tasks. I have been using Google Tasks within Google Calendar for years. It’s ability to layer tasks on my calendar made it my task management tool of choice over all others since I use Google Calendar every day. I needed a way to access, add to & edit my tasks on the go, like on the subway, when I think about things I have to do & process my lists. Because Google didn’t have an app, I used GTasks. When Google finally came out with this app I was so excited. I am completely shocked, however, that there is no search feature. This is essential and it seems pretty obviously from an end user work flow standpoint that this would be necessary. When I am thinking about a particular task that I know I have put on one of my lists and want to find it to add to it or adjust the due date; it doesn’t make sense that I have to manually search through hundreds of tasks to find it. That is inefficient. Isn’t the purpose of technology to make things faster & easier.

Notification settings. This app is a really useful tool, but I wish there was a function that would allow me to change the time that I receive a notification for certain tasks. As a student, I use the app to keep track of homework assignments and I put the due date in as the day of the task. It would be great if I could change the notification settings so that I get the notification the day before, but I haven’t been able to find any such function despite how fundamental it seems. The only other option is the change the actual date of the task itself, but that just seems like so much more work for a function that should just be built into the app. Google Calendar allows you to change the notifications for events (i.e., setting the notification to send 10 minutes before the event begins), so there just isn’t any reason that Tasks lacks this same feature. The app is still great, I just wish I didn’t have to use work arounds.

One of the best task management tools I found. I like their new features that they added. It is one of the few online task management tools that I found that lets you make a task recurring. When I have tried other task management tools, and I was sometimes afraid to check it off if I need to do more than once because the task would become hidden. Some other things I like about google tasks is that you can create sub tasks for things that needed to broken down into more than one step and it can also sync it to your google calendar. If you decide to make a task on certain date, you can see it on your google calendar.

Great app to perform your day to day. Do you want daily achievements, set daily goals 🔥💯👌🏻 You want to be more efficiently? Want to achieve and complete that goals you thought about? This app would definitely make your life better, would reduce your worries, if your worried & stress about problems that you need to fix. Dividing big problems into small tasks will make things much more easy. If you want to achieve that goals that your always dreaming about, thinking on. Now is the time, write down a plan, set up steps do, and guess what make daily “tasks”. Big changes start with small changes. By making simple things as clean up the mess, making your bed, would encourage you to make bigger changes. And this is the app to make those changes. #ChangeYourLife #Success

Great app for keeping track of my knitting and needlework. I use this app for many different things. I’ve created several lists for the various types of crafts I do. It’s been a great way to track both active and planned projects, as well as household and business tasks. I absolutely love this app. I’ve tried many different kinds, but this is by far the best I’ve tried. The only reason I gave a four instead of five is that recurring tasks don’t show up again until the day they are scheduled again. I like seeing all upcoming tasks including repeating tasks. That’s the only change I would make if I were asked how to improve.

Needs Notification Sounds. No reminder or task app is functional without a notification sound and this is where this app fails. I get a banner in my notification center but no alert sound to go along with it. But I love that I can import my emails into a task! It's easy to write a quick description and set a date/time to be reminded. However, despite the easy to see bullet-point layout and organization there isn't much customization. We can't change the order of tasks manually after creating them, just by date or order the task was created. There should also be an option to add a task reminder for multiple days in a week rather than creating sub tasks to do so. Just fix the notification sound issue and it's a 4 star worthy app!

Love it! (Excited for continuous improvement). Love Google Tasks. My husband and I use the Google Suite of products for all of our personal and professional resources, to-do’s, and projects. We run a small business and we’re having a difficult time trying to find a tool that would help us keep track of day-to-day items. We tried Trello, Wunderlist, Asana, and more. All were beautiful but more than what we needed. Along came Google Tasks and it was the simplicity and design that fit our needs. Now we use it for everything! The only wishlist item I have for the developers would be to have a search bar so I could easily go to the task I was looking for (similar to the functionality in Google Keep.) Other than that, bravo!

I don’t get why people like this. A) It can’t be “shared” into. Google doesn’t support the share function in iOS for some reason. For example if you are on Apple Fitness+ and want to share the workout to remind yourself to do a workout on a specific day as a workaround until Fitness+ gets schedules then nope out of luck. Can’t do it but you can do this with Microsoft Todo and TickTick and Todoist. B) No Siri integration like MS Todo or TickTick or AnyDo or Todoist. C) Thankfully that added support for Hey Google and removed the reminder/tasks from a buried Google Assistant page but it’s a manual process to do. So if you didn’t do it you’re stuck using Assistant page for reminders or manually importing them using the option in the app D) Doesn’t support badges so if you get a reminder it’s hidden unless you look at the app, widget or happen to pull down the notifications page on iOS. And lastly it’s not an attractive app. The only thing going for it is the Google ecosystem and that it’s “free” to use. It’s the least useful reminder/ToDo app especially on iOS. Seriously there’s way better options out there. This is for the diehard Google nut more than anyone else.

Good. Google Tasks is very good and I find it simpler to use than Google Calendar, especially with the included widget for the iPhone home screen. Pros: Unlike Calendar Reminders, Google Tasks that are not completed stay on top. Much simpler to use in Google Calendar than Calendar events. But you can still create a task with a specific time for an appointment which is nice. This is subjective because if you need more options with an appointment then you should go with Google Calendar. The widget for iPhone is much nicer in my opinion than the Google Calendar widget. Cons: Can’t search Google Tasks. Why? This is such basic functionality for a task list that it really blows my mind that you can’t search your Tasks. If you have lots of tasks in various lists and quickly becomes unwieldily. Unlike calendar, Tasks can only use one color. Summary: All in all, I really like this app and I started using it in place of Google Calendar. If Google could just add a search feature, it would really improve this app exponentially

Integration with all of G Suite. I have tried every type of task management app and template with limited success. Finally I decided to try Google Tasks again for work and personal task management simply because I was so unsatisfied with the other options. And I was happy to discover how well it integrates into all of the other G Suite tools I use like my calendar and Keep. I just wish they would make it possible to download all of my tasks into a spreadsheet. Also, it would be great to be able to insert a link to a specific email or doc in the task description because now I have to leave myself a note like “see June 15th email from Jake.”

Not bad. Having experience from both Things and ToDoist, Google tasks to me strikes a good balance between simplicity and functionality. Some room for improvement however; Scheduled or “time critical” tasks only sends you a visual notification, where as I would like to have an sound alert option as well. Preferable a unique one or an option to choose from the list of system provided alerts in order to differentiate from eMails and other audible notifications (I hate the iOS eMail audio notification, but that’s probably just me not liking getting eMails and conditioning).

Great app but limited in what you can do. It’s simple, easy and keeps you organized. BUT the app is limited with what users are able to do. • Sharing- By now we should be able to share our list of tasks or individual tasks with other users. Yes, I know what Google Keep is. I don’t like Google Keep. The layout and user capabilities don’t have the same appeal. • Organization- More options for how users can organize individual tasks. Date, starred and recently added are not enough. • Notifications- Need more options or at least mimic the set up of ‘Appointments/ Events’ in Google Calendar. • Subtasks- The option to create an additional layer of subtasks under each current subtask. I’ve tried other list keeping organizational apps, but I keep coming back to this one. I don’t have the patience or motivation to ‘learn’ another app. As a busy parent simplicity and ease are precious commodities. I’m sure if the developers made a few changes they would drastically improve the lives of millions of people. I’m talking Nobel Prize winning work.

Fairly useful. I like that it saves my tasks between devices and thought I liked the ability to make extra lists until the ability to move tasks between lists began to malfunction. I can no longer move tasks from the default list to my added lists, which when I could, helped me focus on the most important tasks when I needed to. The ability to do that disappeared regarding the main list (the most important one to be able to transfer from to aid focus) - as soon as I deleted one list and made another! I had to do this before the lists would start letting me rename them - if I’d been able to rename in the first place (I can now, but moving tasks is more important), then I wouldn’t have had to delete a list & make a new one, which apparently led to the problem of not being able to move tasks. PLEASE Fix This Bug!!

App works for bare bones, not much customizability. Edit: they’ve added a widget thankfully :) Original review: Used the website for a while, just downloaded the app and so far okay but a few features are left to be desired. 1) on the app it would be nice to be able to collapse the sub tasks. They (sub tasks) take up a lot more space and it’s overwhelming to see every single thing. 1-b) it would be helpful to be able to manually change the order of Lists. 2) please work on adding a widget for the iPhone Home Screen. 3) please add the ability to add layering subtasks. I mean in a way where let’s say your task is - “Write a paper” > complete 1st draft [sub task] > create outline [2nd sub task] >> find sources [sub task for create outline]. Also slightly annoying that on the website most of the actually useful ways to organize lists (tags, colors, etc) are pay-walled. Especially the ability to have more than one board. At least give us one of those things please.

Better than reminders. I was waiting for google tasks to get updates which would allow dates/times so I can replace Apple reminders with it. Now that is has all that, I absolutely love it, being able to have it connected to my email account regardless of which device I’m using. However, few little fixes would be great. I like to have my tasks listed in order of date, but when I choose this setting, the order of time is not reflected. I feel like the point of this setting is to have everything in chronological order. Once that is fixed, it should feel even more organized. Also, I feel like the time should show on the side of each task without me having to click on them.

This is a must have app!. This is the app that I go by everyday. Help me manage things a lot easier. The platform is very easy to navigate and it’s very easy to add inputs. It is very clean and organized just how I like it. I only wish the reminder or the alarm part that I can choose my own sounds or ringtone or giving more options to choose. Just the one time reminder ringing sometimes doesn’t get my attention enough to realize I have a reminder coming. Also should have an apple watch version as well. It will be so brilliant!!!

I love this app but could be better. I love that you added a star option that way certain things I wanna handle even on the same day can we be prioritized. I wish there was a click and drag option even if I’m using dates to re-order things. That would be amazing. Sometimes priorities change in the middle of the day and having to strong arm my task list can be distracting. My ask: regardless of what sorting feature people use let them ALSO (and not or) click and drag their items where they are needed. If using date sorting you could ask if they want to change the date.

Synchronizing task completion is awful. Marking a task complete only truly happens upon opening the Tasks app. If a task is marked complete from a push notification, it doesn’t sync & show as having been completed across other devices or on Google Calendar…that task will still show as active. Only after opening the Tasks app will it then complete the task. This defeats the entire point of having the option to mark something complete from a notification. Likewise, if a task is marked complete in Google Calendar, the phone app will still notify you that the task is overdue, & the notification of that task will remain on the phone until the Tasks app is opened…only then does it sync, finally marking the item as complete.

If only there were a Tasks App to improve this. The app itself seems fine but Google still hasn't solved the issue (or is unwilling to address it) of allowing more than one level of sub tasks. This is highly cumbersome to productivity when it used to simply be this way. It is such an inconvenience I've tried one task app after another looking to replace this but the baseline problem is that I use gmail & the tasks are integrated there. I may need to look into switching my email over which would be a bummer but I'm leaving this here in hopes that a developer will actually listen... Additionally, the app itself regularly opens the microphone / voice input when none was clicked instead of just opening the keyboard when a new task or sub task is started. Another item needing to be fixed that wasn't broken...

Close.... Love the simplicity, lacking in a few departments especially for a google level app though. Sub tasks can only be seen in edit mode but appear as individual tasks on my unscheduled task section. Has been a bit finicky with recurring events. Needs a bit more focus payed to the functionality aspects. I also feel like it’s odd I can’t move tasks easily to other days or quickly make a task for a certain day by clicking on the day, instead you have to go in to the task maker and select each date, feel like this would be an easy add. Big fan of it’s easiness tho love that it’s not overcrowded and function saturated just needs a bit more polishing.

Great app, but a few suggestions. Great app! Love the functionality, especially for organizing homework. I only have a few problems/suggestions: - Subtasks can only have a date/time, and can't be repeating - Finished subtasks should be grouped by what task they were under - Widget should include subtasks. I organize my Homework List by making each subject a task, and each individual homework as a subtask in each respective subject. With the current widget, I can only see the subjects, which doesn't help me much - More Google assistant integration please!

Solid app needs a few more features. I used to use Wunderlist and since Microsoft biught them out and not released anything with significance, I’ve been look for another app. Well, i just upgraded to the new google and I saw this really simple app. It’s a great start, but it would be helpful to put things on repeat in the same way the calendar app is used where you can repeat tasks every week or every 1st Monday of the month etc. Also, it would help if we could share this app with other people we may be working with. Other things; To have a comment section would be nice. To be able to have printable lists would be really great as well. Wunderlist even had a place where people could vote on features and create ideas where people could vote which allowed developers to know where to focus as they followed what their dedicated users wanted. That would be an amazing feature as we could know that our voice counts. There are some more things, but maybe you can start with these. I will move my rating to 5 stars when I start seeing these things integrated. Thanks for what you have so far

Good App But Room For Improvement. Love the interconnectivity with Google Calendar. Easy to use. However, could use several improvements. Definitely needs a widget. Ideally, one in the Notification Center where you can mark tasks as complete. Should be able to adjust in Google calendar the length of tasks (change to 15 min duration). Also, needs more customization such as different colors for different lists. Honestly I think making it more similar to the reminder app would be a positive. More ability to edits and create tasks in Google calendar would be great. Also, If possible there should be a way for notifications to say on Lock Screen even after you open your phone (the way reminders app notifications do). Finally, better connectivity to the fantastical app. In the fantastical app, times of tasks are not shown and they show up as all day.

Simplistic and that’s a good thing.. The app is very similar and to the point which is perfect for tasks. One thing that could be improved is the UI. The hamburger menu button should be accessible by a gesture swipe from the left side of the screen. Or remove the hamburger menu button completely and replace with a bottom UI bar that everyone is using now. It will be more accessible to all folks versus right hand or left hand dominant users. The create task button is in a different place from other google apps as well which is a little confusing, but not a huge gripe. The last issue I find is the inability to view multiple lists at once. I constantly have to click the menu button and switch lists and that drives me absolutely bonkers.

Simple and concise. This app is really simple and clutter free. I’m not bogged down by a ton of different options that make things confusing and difficult. No need to “build a system”, since it’s just Lists and tasks. If you like Apple Reminders, Microsoft Todo or Clear, this app will be great for you. If you’re looking for the flexibility of Omnifocus or the structure/filtering of Todoist then probably not. It’s free though, and integrates with my Google Calendar and GMail so desktop support is available on all platforms essentially. Not so much for OmniFocus and some of the other iOS task apps (Apple only). I can work on my tasks while on my work computer (Windows) while adding on my iPhone when in a meeting. I would love to see Google search in the app. Search by the context of what I’m doing and have their AI recommend tasks to work on based on my availability or context. Any kind of search would be better than no search. Otherwise, it’s a good app. I’ll be using this instead of renewing my Todoist.

Version 1.46 includes new past date feature. For many years I much preferred GoTasks to google tasks. But I was forced to start using google tasks when I got a new iPhone because something broke with google integration to goTasks. What I most missed was date displayed by past incomplete tasks. That is now available in 1.46 in Date Order mode. While it is for my tastes a huge improvement, it would be even better if tasks on the same past date were grouped together under the date rather than repeating the date over and over. But it’s good enough as is. 5 stars!

Missing assignment and daily view. When wunderlist disappeared, I moved to Microsoft To Do. After a year or so, I moved to Google Tasks a couple months ago. From the desktop, it’s great! Everything we do is through Gmail and the google calendar, so the desktop interface is very accessible. However, it’s really lacking a daily view. I have multiple lists or “projects” with numerous item within each list. I use this for home, personal use and multiple small businesses. I’ve overlooked several things because I didn’t open that particular list that day. I really need a daily and/or weekly snapshot of everything that is due regardless of what list it is on. Also, there’s no assignment.... meaning it’s not great for collaboration. If you want to assign something as simple as “take out the recycling” or something more complex like working on a project with multiple tasks that need to be completed by different people, forget it. Also if you don’t set a due date and you don’t take the time to read through every list every day, those items that are just free floating will probably never get done. Reading through all the lists takes too much time and leads to human error which seems counterproductive to the app. Please update the app interface with a daily view and assignment/collaborator capability. Until then... on to another to do app.

Enjoyably Simple!. I love how straightforward this is app is. There’s really nothing confusing about it … it’s just as simple to use as a written to-do list. I think it’s also satisfying that it tells you the total number of tasks you’ve ever completed in the app. And you can scroll through all the ones you’ve finished just to feel gratified. If I had one critique, it’d be that the subtasks look the same as all other tasks and behave the same way. I’d prefer if the subtasks could be visibly under the main task and distinguished in some. Then if you completed every subtask, it would check off the main task automatically. Or if you marked the main task as completed, it would mark the subtasks as completed.

I really do enjoy this app it BUT this 1 thing!!!. I work from home post Covid. I work for mental health agency and we use telehealth services. Also I have an iPhone therefore everything that’s google from my job I have to download an app to track. I came across this wonderful app that is very helpful and separating all of the emails I get throughout the day and how I need to complete those tasks my only issue is.... why isn’t there a way to print the task list? Without doing a screenshot or copy and paste? Is there a way and I don’t know? Also, I downloaded the drive and I created an area where we all can get our documents in our office. I would like to be able to share the task list with my supervisor so she can look at every time, do I have to give her my login and password in order for that to happen? Everything else I love about it!

Has potential.. I love the concept of tasks because its easy and works with my Calendar, but it could just be so much more, especially when it comes to the widget. The widget will just show your tasks in the order you put them on there, not the date that you need the task done by. So currently I have a task for two days from now showing up on my widget before my tasks from today. You also cannot complete a task from the widget — you have to go into the app to complete a task, meaning the widget is just for you to look at rather than interact with. Also, when you close out of Tasks, it will only show your tasks for the list you exited out on, even if there are no tasks or they don’t fill up the space. Its just very inefficient.

Perfect app for my organization obsession. This app is a great addition to my life. Previously, I would carry around a daily planner for all my to do lists, reminders, and appointments. It was really inconvenient if I didn’t have it with me or even if it was on a different floor of my house. Tasks, paired with Google Calendar, has managed to replace that and I can utilize this organization system on both the computer and my phone. It’s easy to add additional details, like location and set reminders before appointments. It’s different than other to do list apps that I’ve used because it allows you to easily categorize lists. For example, I have one for work, one for my personal life, one for household handyman tasks I’d like to have done, one for wedding planning, etc. This app gets 4 stars because there is currently a glitch that I can’t delete lists.

Really helps me keep track of my projects. Very easy to make various lists, add tasks & subtasks, set repeat & alerts (which actually work), and I can even mark important tasks with a star and track those priority tasks in the “Starred” list. I have a widget on my Home Screen with whichever list I’m focused on, which makes it even easier to see and access my task lists. Simple, easy & effective. The only change I would suggest is for the “Starred” list tasks to visibly show which list the task is from, without having to open that task and see. Still, overall, very, very helpful without being too complicated. My ADHD brain approves!

Tasks for business is fantastic!. I love Google Tasks and I am happy that they now have an app. The best feature is that when I’ve created a task from my work g-mail on my computer, I can now click on the email link within the Task app and it automatically opens up that email in my Gmail app on my phone. This way I get the same user experience on my phone as I do on my computer. I just wished I had the option to create a task with an e-mail from within the gmail app. This would definitely make it a mobile experience with the Task and Gmail apps. Thanks!

Great except lack of location based reminders. I switched to google apps to avoid the "lock in" ecosystem of apple and this is mostly the same as iOS reminders except that I can access it on desktop and anywhere else which is useful. One thing though: The app lacks location based reminders which iOS reminders had. For some reason this feature is on Google Keep app which I also use. Minor inconvenience but why? Why have two google apps with a reminder feature and the one specifically for reminders lacks a type of reminder. I use keep for notes and this app for reminders

No iOS Widget. To be honest, i love using this app. Not only does it function as a to-do lists for tasks that i have to get done at a certain time, but it also works to remind me of things that i need to do. There’s a problem though: there’s no iOS widget for it. For other Google apps that i use, the widgets are phenomenal and incredibly useful. It’s nice waking up and seeing exactly what i need to do for the day, but it is a bit of an inconvenience opening up the app every single time i just want to glance at what i need to do. Other than that, i can’t organize task priorities unless i number them or assign a time i need to complete it by. If there were a way to tag certain tasks as more important than others, then it would function a lot better in my day-to-day life.

Too Disorganized in Date Mode. I downloaded this app thinking, finally, a simple and clean UI that lets me create subtasks with due dates and room for notes. The bad part is when switching to view your list via Due Date. Say you have a sub task with its own due date. It will get separated from the main task and when clicking on it, have no ties to the main task. An example would be having a main task with a client’s name. And the sub task that says “send invoice”. When clicking on the sub task, there’s no indication to who the client is because it doesn’t link to the primary task. So if you have multiple subtasks that say “send invoice”, you wouldn’t know who it’s referring to. I’m back on Trello and it’s much easier. It’s a bummer because I love Google products but this one isn’t there yet.

I miss reminders. Google had me convert my reminders into tasks but the functionality is a lot different and not in a good way. All-day Reminders would get grouped together on my calendar. But tasks are not. They are displayed row after row on my calendar which is overwhelming when combined with the events. Also, reminders would just move to the next day if not completed. Tasks do not. They will show up under “pending tasks” the following day but then will disappear after 30 days and you have to go into the tasks app to find them. So now I have to remember to look there and start a new task list called no-date because otherwise all the tasks for future dates are all mixed in with the past and current tasks and it’s a big mess.

Great Potential but Needs Improvement. Excellent that tasks syncs with Google Calendar and is visible in the Google Calendar widget for iPhone, HOWEVER 1) If I set a task for Friday at 11:00am, it will show up in the Google calendar widget a day before through end of scheduled time (11:30am), but then it disappears! And doesn’t come back until the next day as “Pending task”. Why doesn’t pending task show up immediately after task time frame passes? It means for a big portion of that day I don’t see tasks I might want done before EOD 2) notifications are NOT persistent on Lock Screen for iPhone. They disappear after an hour, WHY 3) tasks and calendar don’t auto sync, you have to open both apps 4) Pending task doesn’t show up in widget until you open widget. In general widget doesn’t necessarily seem to auto update reliably 5) NO LOCK SCREEN WIDGET Otherwise great app and functionality

urgent improvements I hope tasks could make. 1. (Make it able to move more than one tasks at the same time) Long press one and then tap others, so that users could drag and move more than one tasks up and down in order to change its positions 2. Add function that users could add one ore more picture into a certain task that they want to add pictures into to remind users of extra images info. ( long words short: users could add photos) the picture could be made “only visible when certain tasks with pictures imported are tapped, so when certain tasks won’t show complete images but only a mark or some signal to show that “ this task has images imported)

Very Helpful If You’re a Planner Type. I am someone who is a pretty serious daily planner. And I like to use google calendar on my Computer to do most of my planning. Tasks is super helpful, though, because as soon as something that you need to do pops into your head, you can write it down in Tasks, even when you don’t have your computer. It just helps me keep straight what all I have to do. With that said, I don’t use the app to actually fill my day if that makes sense. I find the computer so much easier for that. I just write all the tasks to be done in Tasks, and then I move those tasks into my daily calendar on the computer.

love it with a few suggestions. I love this app, it has helped me check things off my to do list that I have had in the back of my mind for far too long! I especially like the integration with gmail, which allows me to refer back to associated information that helps complete the task. 1 quirk is that subtasks don’t seem to stay married to their tasks when it comes to assigning due dates - the subtasks sit in the ‘no due date’ section when organized by date. 1 wish is that I could share my list with another user, and let them check tasks off the list or assign tasks to them.

Very simple scaled back beginning. Ok, so it’s not great...yet. It is a very simple list concept for tasks they includes sub task, scheduling by date, very reminiscent of iOS reminders just more elegant and usable. I am giving four stars because it’s a far cry of what it could be and should be, no Google assistant yet, no connecting to Google calendar and Google Reminders and Google Keep...yet. Read a good article that had this quote to sum it up... According to David Pierce of The Wall Street Journal, Google is apparently working on this: "At some point, Google says it’ll combine Tasks and Reminders, through all the many Google apps, into one killer task manager," Pierce said on Twitter. "Today is not that day."

Love this - suggest ability to move tasks across lists. Love this - suggest ability to move tasks across lists

Calendar and Tasks apps don’t sync well in phone. The app has good potential but it needs to be linked with the Google Calendar. This function works well on a computer but the apps barely speak to each other on a phone. Personally it feels like the Google productivity series of tools lack a central platform (especially a mobile one since I assume most people would manage their time when they are in transit) where I can manage all my events and tasks, or could I be missing something?

Harder to use with the changes. It was great when this was incorporated into Google Calendar and easy to manage the Reminders. Now that’s in a separate app, it feels like tasks are harder to manage although currently, the app keeps crashing on the iPhone as soon as you open it, even with a new update some 13 hours ago. It would be good to be able to just manage this in the Google Calendar app again. We don’t need another app!

Good start. Clean and simple, needs the ability to only see items when they are due. I don’t need to know about something until due/start date.

Love the simplicity. After using complex to do lists for project management, I appreciate both the ease of creating tasks and the integration with google calendar and gmail.

Something so simple yet effective!!. Google tasks is the only tasks app I have found that ticks most of my boxes whilst not having any deal-breaking features and without a subscription plan. Google tasks allows me to organise my daily routine and tasks that I have to accomplish, while it does lack some key features such as repeating tasks, they can be worked around by unticking tasks and placing them back into the list (with the recent update, my checked sub lists finally go back to their parent. THANK YOU GOOGLE.) More support with google calendar and notes would be appreciated, as tasks don’t seem to sync with the Calender.. All in all, I know Tasks is somewhat primitive compared to other to-do apps, but is the only app that doesn’t force a subscription for excessive usage and plus, is constantly being updated, I can only hope for the best.

connect email. The best thing is this connect with the email ,make live so much easier

Amazing new update!. They finally added timed task notifications and repeating notifications! This is now single handedly the best to-do list app, especially for heavy Google Calendar users. The integration is amazing

Bad battery drain. I have a newish iphone with great battery life and noticed my battery draining fast when using this app. Checked the battery usage in iPhone settings and saw I used this app for a total of 5 minutes actively and 5 minutes inactively (10 minutes total) and it drained 31% of my battery. Devs need to pay attention to app optimisation.

Perfect for minimalists. Perfect app for minimalists who want something simple and effective. I am a great believer in developing daily routines and rituals as a means to beat procrastination. This means daily tasks that are very simple and easy to do but must be done daily. I have task lists for: Once off Clean Declutter Once a week, I add 7 items to each list, one for each day, and tick each off daily. At the end of the week, I should have 7 completed tasks for each lid. I then delete all completed items and repeat the cycle.

So far so good. Finally a simple and intuitive todo list app, well done Google. Fingers crossed it won’t be killed by Google in a few years time.

Almost ticking all the boxes!. I’ve been waiting for a dedicated Tasks app from Google. This app functions well and the recent update has included some much needed features such as due ‘time’ (but it would be great if it were visible on the task list!) and repeating tasks. It still needs to be integrated with Calendar, but I wonder if this is about to happen noting the prompt to import existing Reminders into Tasks. I need to be able to add an image in notes, not just text. I would love to be able to share tasks and/or whole lists, eg with my husband, then I could consider using it for our grocery shopping list!

Stop grouping all past tasks together. Please, please, please stop grouping all incomplete tasks prior to today under a single heading of "Past". I don't always manage to do everything on my task list and it's important for me to know what was due yesterday as opposed to what was due last week. Why would I want everything in the one category with all the dates hidden?? And the bizarre thing is that they're not even in date order; they're in a completely random order! WHY??? Does anyone even read these reviews? It's impossible to communicate with Google. Such a frustrating company.

Glitch fixed!. Thanks for fixing the issue of not being able to edit tasks!

Best overall. Probably the best reminder there is …hopefully a small notes area added at some point

Best time management app integrated to gmail. Best time management app integrated to gmail. Mobile friendly. You can manually add your task or gmails can be sent to your task list. Has been using it for more than 3 years .

Simple & robust - could use some simple features. The app is great - doesn’t overcomplicate, easy to group, create sub-tasks & integrate with google calendar. It would be significantly improved with a simple search feature so you can easily find tasks - especially those that have not been allocated a date & therefore do not appear in the calendar. Prioritisation & perhaps even colour coding features could also be a useful enhancement.

Need a feature.. Hey Google Team, 1st of all, Thank you for the app, it’s amazing in what i wanted. Kudos for the team effort. Can I ask for a feature. I want to have my task tabs (list titles) to be able to order as well. As Since I create a new group list (title/tab), it goes to the end of the list, while i want it somewhere in middle or reorganize my lists. For example: First I have : 1. ⭐️ Starred lists 2. Item list 1 3. Item List 2 . . . 6. Item List 5 ( here each Item list ( 1 to 5) have their own tasks for example : Item list 1 may have {apple, bat, cat… other task} Item List 2 may have { watch Tennis match, Buy new tv, buy candles , etc} Item List 5 may have { Receipe of mash potato, Buy bat and ball from walmart, etc} Here What I WANT IS to reorganize lists to have the list tabs may be as: 1. ⭐️ Starred tasks 2. Item list 5 3. Item List 1 . . . 6. Item list 2 I hope you’re getting what I want: Lemme know if you want more brief details. Thanks in advance to the team. Best regards, Aakrit

Missing option to define task block size. At present Task block when seen on calendar is of 30 minutes. If Tasks has option to define a custom time block I.e. end time along with start time, then it will become so easy to manage calendar. Events and tasks then can live together in one place. Allowing users like me to better manage my day.

Works well has all that I need!. This app is great for creating tasks form emails and having the email attached as a reference. It short, sharp and easy!

Good but needs some mods. Hi - do you think you can add priorities to the tasks. Low, Med and High. Also can you improve functionality so you can select which list the task is added to when you create a task. Other than that it’s excellent and long overdue. Well done

Great app to keep track of things to do. Tasks lets you make different lists (eg. Urgent, Tomorrow, When I'm in Town) and record not only Tasks but sub-Tasks so you can break down all those big jobs into smaller chunks. It's really easy to use and syncs between devices.... great app.

Love this app. This app is great. It’s easy and simplicity makes it a great tool. Some features I’d like to see though would be, the ability to prioritise tasks and the ability to create task short cuts for common tasks eg “follow up with John Smith” where the “follow up” part is auto filled like in gmail and other Google apps. Even with out these features this is still an amazing tool.

Just an amazing app!. I personally think it is everything you need in a To Do/checklist. Super simple, easy to use and keeps productivity and motivation up.

Easy to use. Tasks is a great easy way to manage your day to day tasks both from a professional and business perspective.

Good app with lots of potential. I love the tasks integrated with gmail and gcal. Absolutely genius and perfect. A suggestion for this app if I may? The ability to add multiple google accounts and view their tasks - separately perhaps. Keep up the good work guys!!

Simple. Intuitive. Just works!. Fabulous upgrade and linkage with emails work quite well as a quick GTD tooling. Highly recommend.

Good start. A very simple tasks app. I wish that it was integrated w/ the calendar app, so i could drag and drop tasks into available time slots, and check them off all through the calendar. I also wish the tasks could be added to a calendar group (so they would be different colours, as I’m a visual thinker). The app is a good start, but it needs to be integrated w/ other Google tools.

Good app and very user friendly. Great app I jumped onto the app when a friend recommended it for work. It’s simple and effective and is great for anything from groceries to work stuff. My only strife is that you can re-arrange the order of your lists

Very good, but I miss Wunderlist. This is a great app, great functionality, but it is annoying that lists can’t be shared. This functionality was in Wunderlist until Microsoft bought it and it just wasn’t the same. Sharing lists is fundamental to any list/task/to do based application. Our family share lists for a variety of reasons, Shopping, Travel packing etc. My search for an Application that will do this continues…

Good but needs some tweaking. I really enjoy this app, very simple and works well with my google calendar. My main frustration is sub tasks not being indented and looking exactly like everything else on my list. Additionally I enjoy the repetition feature but I would like for both instances of a task to show up if one is already overdue at the moment it will only show one copy of the task at a time.

A lot to improve on. I only just got this app, and I wrote in all my tasks the night before. I set the time and date too. But there is no alarm on when we set the time. Overall it is a pretty good app with just a lot of things to work on. Please respond, or put an alarm, it would really help. OMG, I am so sorry. You do get a notification my apologies. This app is amazing!!!!

Bare-bones but nice UX and UI. Will appeal to minimalists who don't need a lot of features like timed task reminders or repeating tasks. It's lacking integration with Google calendar which seems like a no-brainer, and also lacking integration with Google Reminders in Inbox. It feels like there are 50 different ways you can create tasks and reminders in Google's ecosystem, none of them talk to each other. Google just needs a simple way to take notes (Keep is great) and a simple way to make tasks with reminders that are accessible from Gmail and Calendar - hopefully this app will be the answer to this conundrum.

Good but limited. I use this as my “go to to do” and find it good and simple. I can see that it’s tricky to keep task software easy to use and avoid overloading with features. Having said that here are 3 suggestions for improvement. 1. The ability to add a string of tasks without having to go out to “add task”every time. 2. More than one level of sub-task 3. Apple Watch functionality.

Please allow integration into google calendar. If my task dates also appeared in calendar this would be amazing. But unfortunately this is one feature that still appears to be A part of the desktop only experience. Please bring this to mobile applications.

Search functionality. Hi this app works well but needs a search function to enable users with a larger number of tasks to find something through a key word search. Is this planned for a future upgrade?

Missing task complete option in Notification Center. Hi Devs, thanks for the great and simple to use app. One gripe with the latest release - I used very frequently the feature to complete my tasks from the Notification Center. I notice this option is not available when I upgraded to iOS 15. Can you plz re-instate this in the next release. Thanks much.

Finally!. I use a lot of Goole tools, including tasks as it has an unobtrusive integration with my email workflow. My greatest complaint has been that the Tasks functionality has never ventured beyond the desktop. Finally my todo lists can integrate with my phone cleanly. I know that Keep does a lot of this and the new ‘Inbox” tries to do tasks as well, but there is an elegant simplicity in just having a list of tasks. For a lot of folks, like myself, don’t need or want a lot of bells and whistles - we just need a list that syncs with our desktops. This is it. Simplicity itself. My only ask to make it better would be to allow the Gmail app to be able to assign a task from an email. Just like on the desktop. That would make this perfect for all time. If you had that, I’d have given 5-stars.

Calendar linking issue. Would really love if you could send a task and schedule it into your google calendar without it going in the tasks section at the top

Good, but could be definitely be better.. The mobile app needs to have all the functionality that the desktop app does. Mobile only users want to access all the features without having to go to a computer desktop to do something simple such as rearrange lists. Plus this app needs some people would prefer larger text and different colours to choose from for text and list titles/background. I’d even be happy to pay $1-2 AUD per month for additional features - but make it optional please. Not everyone can afford subscriptions.

Can’t edit on desktop?. I’m not sure if this is a bug or now however once I’ve made a task on my iPhone I can’t adjust or edit on the computer version?

Excellent task function. Easy to use with some great features including sliding tasks to a group as sub tasks. Recommended.

App good but Apple diverts Siri requests. I’ve enjoyed this app and I could even say to Siri “add task XX“ and it would work. Not any more. Apple have made Siri direct everything to their reminders and it even suggest that you don’t have an app called “tasks”. Yet if you say open Google tasks it will open. It’s playing tricks! They have just gone out of their way to make sure that “reminders” is used instead of tasks. I thought Apple had been encouraged to have a level playing field for all programs. Obviously not

Straightforward, no-fuss app. I’ve been looking for something I can have at my fingertips, to get my my split-second in-and-gone-again to-do list thoughts out of my ADHD brain. This app has been amazing because it’s simple, easy to use, and no fuss. No bells and whistles, just a plain and simple to do-list. The ability is there to create folders for your lists which means I’m also able to use it for listing “big, long term jobs” or “everyday tasks” but I also have one for a birthday gift list. For this purpose it would be great if it had the option to lock the app, but besides that, it’s been so so helpful. Love it! ✅

Fantastic to stay organised and super easy to use. Love the the super easy to set up lists. They work with my google calendar putting reminders in for me. So easy to stay organised now.

Somewhat helpful but maybe a little too simple. The integration of the tasks into mail and the calendar is helpful and the task list works well on a very basic level. A few additional features would make it genuinely helpful: 1. Replace the scrolling time options (iPhone) when setting a time for a reminder with the ability to simply type in the time. This would be much easier and faster. 2. Swipe left on a reminder to snooze it. Provide the options to snooze it until another day/time similar to the snooze function in Mail. 3. Sub-tasks need to appear as sub tasks, not in a separate list. On iPhone it’s impossible to see that tasks have sub-tasks which means they can be missed. Additionally, when viewing tasks by date the sub-tasks show up in the list at the bottom totally out of context. This is unnecessary and annoying. 4. Ability to share task lists with other users in one’s organisation would be helpful. 5. Ability to move tasks from one list to another on iPhone is necessary.

Exactly what I need. This app definitely isn't as full-featured as other to-do list apps or there but it does exactly what I need it to. Also love that I can turn Gmail emails into tasks. So if you want some super-complex to-do list app with all the bells and whistles, look elsewhere but if you just want a simple to-do list app then this is a good choice.

Tasks iPhone app needs more attention. I love the fact that Google made this Task app very simple and easier to use. However, it has some flaws for iPhone. There is no notification badge appears when I miss any tasks notification. I would like to see these features to the Tasks (iPhone) app: 1. Notification badge 2. Option to customise the notification sounds. 3. Ability to share the list with another Gmail account.

Great app. I like it that it sync in my google calendar. I just wish you could collapse the sub tasks within the main task as the task list can get quite long.

The best. The best I have found ever. Most systems I have tried frustrated me. I’ve kept using this for longer than anything else to date.

Great Looking and Simple. Love how simplistic the app is, I’ve been looking for an app like this forever. It would be great if you added support for the Today Widget so we can see our list of tasks from the widget without even having to go into the app.

Please add these features. 1. Export task list to textable/emailable/ doc format 2. Please allow a task created in the main list to be assigned to a space, not to need to create the task within spaces. Furthermore, create the ability to move a task from one space to another, or to populate multiple spaces. 3. Add Subtask feature to tasks within spaces as well, just as it does in the main task list. 4. Allow to create task templates for repeated work flows, both in main task and within spaces. 5. Integrate tasks with google sheets. Allow a spreadsheet field to convert to a linkable task, by right clicking. Furthermore, allow an entire task list template to create a spreadsheet (with gantt template would be awesome). Allow the task template to populate the spreadsheet with the whole templated task list. This would allow for pipeline work flows that are repateable and easily created. Overall, a good app, but with the amazing new spaces, and the robust google sheets, the lack of integration is stoping the task feature from being 5 stars.

Good intentions but bad user experience. Good app but user experience is very bad. Do something about it Google. Learn from other tasks apps especially Apple Reminder

Sharing permission. It should be better if we can invite another family member to edit the task together

It’s good but coming from Google, it could be much better!. It does the necessary but it doesn’t have a search function which from a company that is mainly used for search is kind of ironic ..

Overall great but has syncing issue. Sometimes when I check off tasks on Google calendar, the Task app would still send me notification about checked tasks.

No way to forget important matters. Looked for reminder app for a long time, each one I used lack a feature, until I used this one

I love it but.... I love this app but could I get a random notification that tells me to check the app so I could remember that I have something to do in the first place?

It’s perfect. It does everything I want it to do. No unnecessary features. Make a new task, I can add a deadline, etc and when I’m I just check it off and its gone / stored in the completed section

Organization. Love the way it speaks to tasks on my Gmail. Allows me to stay organized whether I'm at my desk or at home.

Please let tasks with Subtasks be repeatable :(. Other than that, great app. Love that I can use this across different OSs.

Fabio Stilben

Tasks!. I feel more organized and have a sense of accomplishment when I can check off when a chore is complete! Pam Jack

Please….. Widgets and Watch Complications!!!!

Need cleaner interface. Interface needs to be much cleaner. Just tasks & numbering if at all

So good I like this. Wow

Amazing!!. I’ve had my phone for 3 yrs and I am just noticing this widget. I absolutely love it

Would give 5 stars….but please make the app icon badge work!. Every other program out there tells you how many outstanding tasks you have by glancing at your phones Home Screen, but this app for some reason won’t display a badge on the icon. Other than that I love the simplicity of having email, calendar, tasks and notes all work easily together.

And still no text search?. Somewhere, someone is designing a calculator that can’t add.

Love the app but the widget stopped working. Fix the widget please

Good app. I use it every day

Delete task. Please bring back the trash icon to be able to quickly delete a task, as opposed to having to push the 3 dots and then select delete

Simple to-do list. This app is just what I need to plan my day and week. It’s simple and has timing options that I need.

much better than microsoft or apple. I tried out Microsoft To-Do and Apple Reminder/ Notepad... I can say for certain that google is the winner.. I was a microsoft user but I have switched all my apps from microsoft to google. Very happy man over here!

Très pratique. Très bien

Fun but Outdated. Simple and fun but need updates for new features like widgets for Lock Screen, Time controlled notification, Auto read from email and smart task management.

Make a way to view previous day task list and complete items. Somedays I end work at 11:45 pm so when I get home to do tasks/chores/to-do list items it is already the next day and I cant see the previous list. If there was a way to add a tab to view previous day this would change everything for me and id definetly have to leave a 5 star instead

Only if it has location based reminders!. Only if it has location based reminders! I think it would be the best to do app of all times

Efficient To-Do App. Great app for your to-do lists. One good advantage offered is the availability of syncing through all your devices using your Google account with Chrome. One option I’d like to be added would be the availability of customization for the order of your lists. The app’s easily worth the purchase overall, such as most from Google in my opinion.

Great App. Great app I use it to track my upcoming bills. Would be nice if it had a print feature , nice to have feature but foes not detract from usefulness of app .

Works, but S-L-O-W to Sync. Works, but S-L-O-W to Sync. And just generally a sluggish app, even on my iPad pro.

One comment. Would be nice to reorder stuff on the same date otherwise this is great!

Good but.... Very good application, but not as functional on iOS as on Chrome browser. I wish Tasks would interface with Calendar on iOS the way it does in Chrome.

Sorting. I love this app but it doesn’t let you sort alphabetically. For lists like groceries I want to be able to check things off or uncheck them and for it to all be in alphabetical order. It’s annoying having to sift through the things that are checked off to see if an item is already there or not. If it were in alphabetical order I could go check easily. Having a numerical sorting feature would be nice too. The only other thing I noticed about this app Is that you can’t move your lists around. Once you make it your stuck with it in that spot unless you delete all of your other lists and remake everything.

Wish the subtasks were available after. I love everything about this app except the subtasks don’t have the option to be “completed” and then put back into the same category. When you check them to bring back into the list they are free and not tied to the original task.

Love + Critique. Amazing. I’m a small business owner. This saves LIVES. I got Task Boards for my desktop and tablet but would love to have this in my phone. Come on baby, commit to this app! Reminders would be bonkers good. Just cross the bridge and make a project management app so I can stop shelling out money for programs that aren’t as accessible as this.

Vous êtes extraordinaires. Je suis plus que satisfait de votre application. Elle répond à mes attentes. Merci

Saving tasks. That’d be nice to be able to save tasks and being able to share them

Tasks number on icon. It would be nice if the icon showed whether you have tasks without having to open app

I love it!!. I am the type of person that has always needed to write out a daily list to reach my peak productivity. Tasks provides me a well designed tool which I have access to everywhere I take my phone, which is pretty much everywhere. I can mark off tasks from my list as I perform them or at the end of the day when I review my list. There are too many aspects of Tasks that I like, to list them all here. Please take it from me, if you haven’t used this app, try it for yourself and see if you like it as much as I do.

Has helped me so much!. Wish you could add photos in the details part.

Great app. Handy notes that go with you. Easy to access from any device or platform

It’s really good!. I love the fact that I can add even more detail to my tasks AND put a due date for it. It’s so helpful and I never forget what I have to do because I can use a widget!

Perfectly functional. I like the minimalist approach: fully functional with all of the features that I need and no more, available online and offline, and it is easy to reorder the tasks.

widgets! widgets!!!. Love it. But widgets! Please!

Wow. Iris amazing

Amazing, please add a widget!. App works just as you would expect it to, including all the GSuite integrations! However, PLEASE add a widget for my home screen so I can check off tasks quickly and easily. Allow me to set a default list to display and have the option to quickly switch between my lists, as well as show tasks for the day amoungst all lists so I can check them off easily as I go. Tasks Dev team, I believe in you. Add this feature and I couldn't ask for anything more. I see this app doesn't get many updates, please prioritize this for the next release!

UNBELIEVEABLE. I have been using tasks with my gmail and google calendar for a long time, and there was no easy way to get the tasks onto your phone. I tried the 3rd party apps, which I paid $5 for and then $6/month for an incredibly mediocre app. I use tasks for everyday stuff and to keep track of assignments. Now, this works flawlessly with my google calendar and gmail and I can add or complete tasks at my whim. Thanks SO MUCH for listening google, I’m so excited and happy!!

Want to love it - not there just yet. As an personal iOS and Windows user at work, I use Google for literally "all the things." Being cross platform is absolutely critical, which is why I don't/can't rely soly on things like Apple Reminders, Notes, etc. Google tasks is clearly the way forward, but I need a few more things for it to be a full Reminders or Todoist replacement. First off, simple badges for overdue tasks would be super helpful. At a glance from the homescreen, I need something to stand out. Either there, or permenantly affixed to the iOS lock screen. Would also love task labels and filters if possible. I'm confident this product/service will eventually get there, just today it's not on the same plane as Google's other apps. Fingers crossed!

Love Tasks. Needs Notes & Calendar integrations!. I love Tasks and hope Google keeps pushing to develop it to integrate better to Calendar and Keep. I quite like the simplicity — it’s mostly just a checklist for me, and I like that you can also add deadlines and notes that are contained within Tasks. But sometimes I wish I could have the Tasks deadline show on my calendar automatically. And sometimes when my Tasks notes get longer I wish I could convert those to Notes—and I would LOVE if I could push a Task note to a pre-existing note in Notes. Is this possible?

Love but missing some helpful aspects. Love google cal and tasks together. Keeps me on track with grad school. I wish that items could be color coded or different lists be able to be different colors just to be able to organize my google calendar better instead of having all tasks one color. I’m a visual person and seeing all tasks the same color can be overwhelming and hard for me to just quickly look at my calendar to see what’s ahead!

Wish it offered sub-sub tasks also. I have been looking for a task/outliner with the ability to create an alarm at any level. This is a nice clean app. I like the month calendar that pops up vs Apple’s Scroll Wheels which I detest. It lets me create an outline but only one level deep. Love the fact that I can access my tasks via desktop/web Need ability for left swipe that shows multiple options - Delete, move, Edit Date etc Completing a sub task should only check it off. Not make it go away. The relationship to the parent task needs to be maintained. This app is childish. Look at ActionTree. Meld the two together and I will be happy.

How Google Tasks made me a better student. I always would lose track of my assignments or what was due when, and because I understood the material, I felt really stupid to be losing points because of missing assignments. One day while checking my assignments, my dad introduced Google Tasks. He created a checklist to manage my assignments and it has been very helpful ever since! I now prioritize my time much better, and I can always check back at the Task List whenever I need to. I love this app!

extremely helpful and convenient. I recently started using Tasks and appreciate the extra help being a busy mom. I would have given it 5 stars but I had a hard time attaching my emails. Starting task & attaching the first time was a breeze. But when I went to attach a second I had no way of sending it. I had to go online & figure out how to do this on my iPhone. I wish it would have given this information when setting up the app., it would have saved time & frustration.

It’s almost there. I use this on my iPad in conjunction with my Google Home and Google calendar app. The biggest drawback when a task enters the Google Calendar, you can’t decide what calendar or list it’s assigned to. For instance, I like to have my work tasks and personal tasks separated by colors. Cant do that with tasks/Google Cal. Whatever I tell the Google Home comes as a “reminder” instead of a “task” which seems like semantics. It seems like people have been asking for the ability to change colors/assign lists with Tasks/Google Cal for years now, so until this feature is available it’s not the perfect app. Soooo close though

Keeps me on track. I just recently started using the Task app, and so far it’s been pretty good. However, on the desktop version and the app, it’s a little delay to create a task directly from gmail. I wish it would connect the sub tasks to the main tasks. It seems to make them separate or it appears that way. Overall, it’s my go to 1st thing in the AM followed by my calendar. I hope the app continues to improve the features, to add or share tasks, easily create tasks directly from gmail in desktop version.

Basic tasks, but Google Apps Script means your imagination is the limit. Tasks itself doesn’t have every feature I’m looking for, but the ability to write a basic Google Apps Script allows me to add features like reschedule from completed (which mainstream paid task apps have, but bundled ones, like Google Tasks and Apple Reminders, do not), and more esoteric ones like rotating reminders (do x every 30 days, but rotate descriptions between a, b, and c). Because of the basic but well performing app, as well as decent web interface and Google Apps Script integration, I just switched to this.

Reminder function would be nice. It is simple and well integrated within the Gmail/Google calendar ecosystem which (almost) everyone uses nowadays. It would be super nice, however, to be able to set a reminder for a task and not just a deadline. Sure, you could set up a reminder in Google calendar, but would still be nice to be able to do it straight within the Task app without having to open google calendar on desktop or separate app on phone.

Helps me stay organized. I use it at school for my homework and missing assignments. I also make specific lists for lengthier assignments. At home, I use it to help me complete my chores and remind myself to take care of myself. I’ve tried other chore apps, but this one is my favorite. It’s simple and easy to use and understand. It may not work for everyone but it works for me. Try saying you’ll treat yourself if you complete the whole list.

Couple Problems. Two main issues I’m having as of October 2021: First, completion/deletion & updates to tasks from Tasks app don’t show up in Google Calendar until I manually open up calendar, even with background refresh enabled. Also vice versa if I make the changes in Calendar. This is a bummer, and I’m guessing a bug since integration between these apps is explicitly touted. Other thing I feel is lacking is more robust support for tasks with due dates. I can set a date sure, but then there’s no notification configuration support so I’m not really reminded of due & overdue tasks.

Simple and Fast, but Lacking a few Key features. Great app. Already deleted all the other planner apps. Please take this feedback into consideration: - Make switching between lists easier, such as a force press right or left swipe, or a tab menu (where the current "list title" is) that will display recently used 2-3 lists. - Allow the lists the communicate with one another. For example, users might want to move a task from one list to another (or simply add a task to multiple lists) and not have to manually insert it multiple times. - Add a widget (this is a big one) so IOS users can access from home screen shortcut. - Under the Add Details, provide an option for users to predict how long each task will take (this would help tremendously for people trying to use a list as a daily planner and task list). If you take any or all of these suggestions into consideration it would be greatly appreciated.

Great for reminders and lists. I’m a GC and I work a lot of different jobs so I’m always pulled in a lot of different directions at once and remembering so many different things is very difficult to do which is why some thing like Tasks Jess absolutely increases my productivity and my ability to actually rest during my free time. I mean that’s just lists in general, but it’s so convenient to have it hooked up with my email and Google drive so everything is one place.

Almost there. I love the simplicity in design but it's a little too simple in function which in turn makes it not that useful. I could carry around field notes in my back pocket rather than use this app because they have the same function. It should be simply smart, not just simple. If a task could have a time reminder on it, that would be extremely useful. Also, if it would sync to the tasks section in Google calendar that would be extremely helpful as well. If those two features were included, then it would receive 5 stars.

Want to love it!. I would love to have a checklist app like this that syncs with my google account and is reliable. This is almost there! I have lots of repeat tasks that happen weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually and they must be done on time. That’s why I add them to an app to remind me. With this app when I check an item off as being completed, I get a pop up saying “Completed now. Will repeat next week.” HOWEVER, it never shows up on the list again. I’m still using my previous app to stay on task, but don’t want to give up on this google one. Please fix this glitch!!

Great App, Room to Grow. I love google tasks. I get the job done. However, two major issues: 1. App access only. Can’t get your phone? Lost it I dropped it in water? Well you’re locked out completely. This doesn’t make sense since Google Tasks is accessible online. 2. App is basic. Would love to be able to customize my lists, organize my lists and archive old lists. There are a lot of features that could be added to improve all aspects that I feel at this moment are severely lacking.

Great but could be a bit better. I’ve been using this app to get away from carrying 90 notebooks on me at once with varying to-do lists. I would suggest adding the functionality to move to dos from one list to another though. I was having difficulty figuring out how to move something from the my task page to the daily task page after it has already been created. I didn’t want to have to delete the original entry and then remake it on the correct page.

Keeps Me on Task. Use app as primary way of organizing my daily tasks. Love the seamless integration across Google platforms. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the lack of an easy ability to sort the tasks. The only way to sort is to add a specific date and time. I like that feature for some time-specific tasks, but I would also like the ability to drag-and-drop into order, so I can easily organize the tasks into a priority order. Otherwise, I love this app.

Note Feature. I really love the ability to link an email to the task, as I am using Tasks in G Suite to create an action list for my boss from emails received on our public contact email. It works very smoothly. While I am able to add instructions or ask a question in the task details, it would be great if there were a way for him to easily add a note or comment back from within the task. Is this a possible add or does it already exist? Otherwise...love this tool. Thank-you!

Great except why can’t you move lists around??. This is a great app for simplicity and ease. EXCEPT once you create a list, you cannot change the order of your lists (meaning you can change the order of items within one list, but not of entire lists). This is annoying because usually I have two most important lists - the first one I ever made and the latest one - and I have to constantly scroll between them instead of putting them in the same area.

FINALLY a to-do app that works for me!. I love this app. Clean user interface, ability to make multiple lists of tasks, rearrange order, add sub tasks to a task, and schedule tasks. You can also move a task from one list to another easily (I do this by starting the week putting all my tasks in a “this week” list, and then on a daily basis moving some to the “today” list.) I also love that I can see the tasks in my gmail browser on the computer! Would highly recommend. A feature request - ability to collapse/expand the subtasks of a task would be awesome!

One of my most used apps. This app keeps my life organized. I’ve tried all the checklist apps and they’re typically overly confusing and jazzed up beyond what is actually needed so much so it becomes a distraction and not user-friendly. Tech companies need to remember to build solutions, not offer things nobody asked for and then try to slap a subscription on top of it. This app does what it says and is beautifully integrated. Hope it doesn’t change.

Good but needs improvement IMHO. I am trying Google Tasks to help me maybe fix what Apple broke in the last updates. I like the features that the app has however it is not a very good player with the Apple ecosystem nor does it have all the features that would really make this a useful app. Before everyone jumps my mess, allow me to elaborate. With the later iOS versions especially with iPadOS, the ability to drag and drop is sorely missing with the Google apps! This makes some tasks harder to do with this and other apps. Got spoiled on that feature! The IMHO opinion is a GLARING missing feature is the ability to see EVERYTHING that is due today throughout your lists! You cannot see more than one list at a time and in my case, I need a few different lists to keep the mess organized. Especially I need to use a program like this to keep my memory good with things like meds. Maybe Google can fix this soon or I’ll just uninstall it and go back to what Apple broke.

No travel support. I had some hope for this app but it cannot handle time zone changes so it's useless for my purposes. I set a reminder for a specific time and then I fly somewhere and Tasks literally changes my reminders so they don't go off at the correct times. For whatever reason there don't seem to be any reminder apps that can handle time zone changes. Seems pretty ridiculous but that's just the way it is apparently. I'll keep trying as I need reminders for medical purposes but apparently expecting a reminder app to be able to adjust time zones is just too much to ask.

So close to being great…. I love the simplicity and ease of use with this To Do List app. It’s not overly complicated and I love the seamless integration between Desktop and mobile. ***A few suggestions: please add more sort options and please add some filters or ability to only see items for that day. Right now I like that I can create items for a week out and keep them separate but, I hate that if I assign a task for tomorrow or a few days off it still appears in my main view of tasks. As someone with OCD, it drives me a bit nuts. Other than that, great and simple app!

No nearly ready for release... I’m just wondering what was going through the developers head- and Apples for thus matter- when they decided to release this garbage. To begin with, the syncing issues are very good. When you add a task online ( I did mine through my Google Email, which is pretty cool) it goes right to your phone. That’s about the only good thing there is about thus app. You can add sub tasks but cannot collapse the task. No widget notification. All of my folders have downloaded in the wrong order and have been repeated at least five times. The UI is horrible and cheap looking. I could go on and on but I just want to delete this thing and go back to my old way of tasking.

Recurring tasks get stuck in “completed”. Moved my Google reminders over to tasks and it works sort of okay, but the biggest issue I’m having with the app is with recurring tasks. I have bills set as recurring tasks and when I check them off as completed for a month, they get stuck in “completed” and don’t show again the next month. The UI is basic but it still needs a lot of work. Having multiple task lists is still very clunky, especially with trying to move tasks to different lists. In Google Calendar, it would be nice to be able to give different task lists different colors, or specific tasks different colors like you can with events. Overall Tasks needs a lot of work.

My favorite task app. This is my favorite task app and very similar to apple reminders. It will sync with your gmail sidebar Task if signed in to the same account. It is very simple and easy to use. I don’t like task apps that are full of unnecessary features. Many people complain that this app is too simple. They should delete this app right away and download other competing task apps. Google should keep this app as it is. Please don’t add any other features that will make it clunky and difficult to use.

Love it, but….. I love tasks, I use it every day! Only drawback is you can’t use it with Siri to my knowledge. I know they’re a little formulas you can use to integrate reminders and tasks with widgets or specific but it seems like a huge workaround. Also there is always some glitch. I end up missing tasks on the backend. To avoid tasks falling through the cracks, I just put reminders on Siri and then have to check and migrate to tasks later. I like tasks because it shows up on my Google calendar which I use daily and share with family.

Overdue badge count. Please include an overdue badge count on the icon. It’s a productivity app so you’d imagine that you’d want to get an idea of what’s going on with a quick glance. “Oh, there’s a red ‘1’ let me check what’s overdue!” But instead there’s nothing. And having to continuously open the app eventually gets tiring or worse - people forget. And they stop using it and eventually move back to the default iPhone Reminders app b/c even though it’s very basic it has one major feature that Google Tasks does not: an overdue badge count...

Not Useful Yet. The UI is decent and intuitive, but the app (as well as the web based Google Tasks) still lacks 4 incredibly basic but critical functionalities: 1. Needs to have a multi-task editing (aka “bulk editing”). I.e. the user can select several tasks and perform the same edit to them (e.g. change due date, change Priority, move to a different list, etc). 2. Needs the ability to add notes/updates to a task (e.g. for a task to “Call John,” can add note “left voicemail on date xx/xx/xxxx.” 3. Needs landscape format for iPad use. 4. Needs recurring tasks. If all you need is a simple to-do List, google tasks might be a great fit for you But for those of us who use Google as our business environment, we really need a better task app. I’ve shelled out a lot of money to try dozens of them and they all end up being too complicated, quirky, or don’t meld well w Google. Google Tasks has a rare opportunity to fill a much-needed niche, if they will make the task a little more sophisticated without going overboard into complexity.

It’s Fine For Day-to-Day Tasks, Not Planning. I was really excited when I found this app. I already use Gmail, Google Docs and Sheets on a daily basis, but needed something specialized for task management. I want to say this is a solution, but it isn’t. Pros: It was easy to import and integrate existing tasks from Google Calendar. The interface is really easy and simple to use, creating and managing tasks is straightforward. Cons: Recurring/repeating tasks disappear after you mark them complete (even for tasks that are supposed to appear every weekday). They don’t show up within the following day, or even the current week. You also can’t add dates or times to subtasks. You have to open up Google Calendar to actually see your all of your recurring tasks properly. If recurring tasks were visible and you could add dates/times to subtasks, this would be a five star app. In its current state, it is not viable as a task management tool and Google has received feedback on this lacking feature in forums since 2019.

Clean and simple - 2 recommendations. I switched to this after I saw the beloved Wonderlist will be decommissioned. This task app is nice in that it is clean and simple to use. Two recommendations are 1) integrate with Google family like as with the Calendar. My family used Wanderlist to share and keep track of tasks. I cannot share the tasks here. 2) show all upcoming tasks by day, week, or month. I’m constantly worried that somehow my recurring tasks have been dropped since I don’t see them until they pop up. Need to be able to fire and forget - not worry if something critical has be dropped from the list (perhaps due to user input error) and then not get done.

I use it for everything!. I love Google Tasks and use it for just about everything. I am a huge list person and love that you can set reminders and can now also star the really important tasks. It’s easy to move individual tasks around too! I do wish that the app were a bit more similar to the browser version (such as being able to hit”return”/“enter” to create a new task and being able to organize the list order), and that you could format the notes section into bulleted lists, but other than that it’s a wonderful app!

One problem. I like this app but there’s one problem for me. Whenever I’m on google tasks, I tend to look at task by its date. Yes, it’s good but lots of times, I add a specific time like Monday at 11 pm. The problem is that the 11 pm doesn’t show up unless I click on that specific task. And for me, most of my tasks don’t have specific times, just a date. And for the ones I do add with a specific time 11 or 12 pm, I forget them and when I actually check it, Im already late. Can you add a option to add the time (like 11:39 am or 5:28 pm) to the date label, not just the date?

Great app! Couple of small fixes would make it perfect. This app is perfect in its simplicity. The only things that would make it better, would be to have an app badge with the number of remaining tasks. And also to be able to re-order tasks without having to go into the calendar to change the date. For example, if I wanted to change the order within a certain day, I could just tap and hold to reorder. Otherwise, it’s great!

Simple, easy to use. I love how easy it is to make lists and add due dates and such. I use this as a student to keep track of homework and other personal tasks. However, I do wish there were an option to send reminder notifications before the task is due. I also wish each list could be color coded to differentiate them when looking at tasks on Google Calendar. I love viewing the tasks on the calendar, but it is a bit overwhelming when they’re all the same color.

Simple, minimal, & clean. Searched for an easy to-do list app all my life with utter disappointment until Google Tasks. Basic, yet functional and able to meet all of my needs; although, I would appreciate 2 minor glitch fixes: 1) the ability to edit my tasks/subtasks (rather than having to delete the task entirely and re-type tasks & subtasks from scratch), as well as 2) filing subtasks under the corresponding task with the correct date (currently, subtasks appear at the very bottom under “no date,” although stored under a task with a set date).

Work in progress. I love this application. The only thing that it inconvenient is that you can’t set an amount of time it takes to accomplish a task. So if you set the task at a certain time in your calendar there’s no way to block off your calendar for the amount of time it takes. It is also difficult to share tasks and lists with others on gmail. The only way I figured out is by copy and pasting a link. Would be much better if you could just hit share and type the persons gmail account name.

Saved Me!. What I love about Taks is that it is attached to my Gmail accounts. I work in several places and hold different positions. This way I go through the tasks of different positions in an organizated way. I don’t miss deadlines nor forget tasks anymore! Its setup is simple and easy to navigate. It is directly accessible from the Gmail on my PC. And when I add a due date, it is automatically added to the calendar. All that makes it the best planning app for me. I’ve tried many others and found no better.

Amazing. Tasks app helps me be more productive anytime I need it. Like in the mornings I sometimes forget to do things and it can help me get things done with just a simple reminder I love the feature we can set a custom date and you can even change the order of your tasks, there is no ads it’s completely free to use and this is just the best task out there I highly recommend it it helps you be more productive when you need to.

Good, Could Be Perfect. I love this app to keep track of all the tasks I have to do over the day or even over long periods of time. Having subtasks helps me break a large project down so I can stay organized and minimize my chance of hitting road blocks. I even use it to keep track of things I need to buy or would like to buy. Couple of things I wish Google would implement to improve the functionality of the app are: - Add linking to Google docs, sheets, etc. Whatever people would find useful. I find docs to be useful in my case. - Allowing you to set a recurring date on a task that has subtasks and allowing subtasks to have a recurring date just as long as it isn't recurring faster than the main task. I use this to help keep track of reccuring car maintenance. This is useful in my case. - Allowing you to add details to a subtask. - Allowing us to move lists. - Bullet points in details would be great.

Nice integration and clean. The best part of this is the integration with other google apps. For me, I use gmail and google calendar for work so if I get an email about a job I need to do I can create a task within gmail and set a date and time and it will appear in the tasks app, and on my calendar. And I receive notifications on my phone for my tasks the way reminders would. It’s just clean and easy to use and keeps me organized. All together really useful yet simple.

Almost too simple. So I own a new bookkeeping business and have tried to love Asana as much as my colleagues do, but it is just too complicated for someone who loves simple lists! So for now, I love the simplicity of Google Tasks. I do wish I could @ names and directly link them to Google contacts, so that when I pull up a Google contact I can see completed or to-do tasks related to that person. And be able to open the contact by tapping on the name within the task. That would be PERFECT 😭

Missing option to automatically add new items to bottom of list.. The only thing keeping this app from a five star review, is the fact that the app seems to be missing the option to add tasks to the bottom of the list. You can only add by date or “my order” where it gets automatically added to the top of the list. I’d like to be able to list my tasks in chronological order. But i suppose i can just read from the bottom of the list up. It’s a small thing

Pretty good.. I like this app. It’s nice and simple. Some tips for improvement I would suggest is having a search bar to find tasks easier. On the computer version you can look up tasks, but I’m not sure why that doesn’t work for the phone version. Also, being able to color-code the tasks would be helpful as well considering the only way to differentiate between tasks is by using a star. Otherwise, it’s a pretty solid app.

Reminders? Or Tasks?. The only problem here is that when you set a reminder with the Google Assistant, it doesn’t go to Tasks... or any Reminder app dedicated for them. It stays inside the Assistant app or can be viewed on Google Calendar. They should go to 1 place and 1 place only: Google Tasks. As soon as that is the case, this is an easy 5 star. It would be 2 or 3 stars but they make it very simple to import Reminders from the Assistant into Tasks so I give them credit there too. But again, that should be automatically done for all reminders made through the Google Assistant.
