Awesome. This app has been so helpful. I tend to go to the store and buy more groceries when I don’t realize that I can make something with what I already have. It’s saved me money on groceries in that way, and it lets me know when my food is going bad so that I don’t have to constantly keep checking dates. It also syncs with my grocery stores so I don’t need to manually enter my new food every single time I go shopping (which takes forever when you do it that way). Something to note: for items that have a longer shelf life, you do have to manually enter those expiration dates. It doesn’t take long though, so it’s not a huge deal. Overall, I highly recommend this app!

Trying to make life easier. Grocery shopping nowadays is not easy especially meal planning and meal prepping for the week but this app makes it very easy although I would say one thing that is extremely disappointing is that it costs money. I understand that that is our economy nowadays everything cost money, but if you really want to help out the person like myself who is a student and works full-time then make it free! everything doesn’t need to be subscription based and I would use this 100% of the time if I didn’t have to pay for it but unfortunately, I am only going to use it for the free trial and then delete it. other than that, though I find every feature on this app, absolutely useful and phenomenal.

Best shopping list app. I live way out on a ranch far away from grocery stores and keeping a strict shopping list is very important so I don’t have to make multiple trips to the grocery store. This shopping list can do so many things I never even imagined. I can add a recipe and it will add the ingredients to my list, and it also auto-calculates the weight in oz so i know exactly how much I need to buy (like 1/2 cup shredded cheese = 4oz) because things are sold in oz at the store. It even matches the items on my list to real products at my grocery store so I can preview what’s available and how much it’s going to cost. And to top it off, I can actually send an order for delivery straight to the store right from the shopping list on Cooklist. It’s actually incredible.

Great Concept, Needs Work. First off, having a large list of stores at the beginning to choose from is great! But I accidentally only chose one store and trying to add another store only showed stores that seemed to be in the vicinity of the state. I may want to shop at other stores when I go out of state and want to add them to the connections. It then wouldn't let me delete the connection, saying there is a problem. I haven't logged into the connection, even. Also, the app is so slow to load that it's hardly worth the trouble. The idea is wonderful, but it needs faster loading and less glitches and not need to be logged into the connection to delete it, and not region lock you when you click on one grocery store.

CRASHES = CANCELLATION. Honestly I want to love this app! It is an absolutely brilliant tool to use for meal planning, grocery shopping, pantry stocking, etc. I downloaded the app and was immediately able to try the 30-day FREE trial... YAY! Truthfully, within my first browse through the app I knew it would be something I’d pay for once the trial was up... until the app crashed. And crashed again. And crashed and crashed... anytime I tried to save a recipe or search an ingredient or add a pantry item. This is incredibly infuriating and truly makes the app unusable.. ESPECIALLY when it doesn’t save things due to the crashes. I’m going to hope this problem is fixed before the end of my free trial.. if it isn’t, unfortunately I will be canceling the service and finding an alternative app!!

Thanks for the app!. I’ve gotten used to using this app pretty regularly since I no longer use a meal box service. Having it import my groceries (admittedly, it works better for online purchases/pick-ups) has truly helped me easily distracted brain to keep track of my kitchen. I would rave about it even if that is all it did but, I can search for recipes based off my current ingredients (and substitutes!), or look for a recipe then add missing ingredients to a shopping list and price compare to different stores! I used this a lot more at first just to verify if it was accurate but, now it’s more of a comfort & motivator to keep using the app in case I need it for an immediate random event. The ability to set up a meal plan with new and imported recipes from practically any website(also very easy to accomplish), then add certain items to a grocery list(with the measurements grouped together) has been the experience I’ve looked for but never thought it would be in just one app. There are so many features, I feel like if you think of something that you want in a grocery/pantry app this one has it. I haven't used it yet but i can add other people to the app so they can update it too. And recently I can even choose which subbed ingredient I want. I support this app and it’s development team. Thank you for making this available!

Life changing. This app will save me so much money because I didn't realize that I can cook hundreds of delicious recipes with the food I already have. It adds lots of delicious variety to my life and saves me a fortune in groceries because I can use what I have. Also tells you when foods are expiring which helps you use it before you lose it. And organizes pantry items by category so each week when you update your inventory you can more easily find your stuff. Few minor tips: 1. It'd be amazing if we can have a clean dish category as a pantry item so it only shows recipes where you have the tools cleaned and available to use. Examples is I don't have a clean airfryer right now so i would love to have all those removed from the list. 2. Also I wish I could copy/paste recipe details instead of manually adding one by one. 3. Need manually added recipes to be private to just me (or at least have that option) But again this is an AMAZING app and the people who built it have an excellent eye for detail and how to make super user experience.

can't do price comparison of stores anymore. comparing prices store vs store; it used to be an awesome feature even though it was a bit buggy, will it ever return? devs? It is still one of the best pantry management apps i have tried to date but sometimes; one thing gets fixed, another seems to break or disappear. the cost is fine if you keep in mind that it helps them maintain the app quality and add/fix features, i send feedback whenever i can to try to be helpful. i'm looking forward to its progress very much but finding it difficult to be patient, kroger connection problem fixed but now my safeway won't import my purchases... when i click to update connection status to import receipts, i get no indication of how long it could take or if it will do anything or ever import my recent purchases. please help. It also won’t let me copy past plans to current meal plans without crashing 85% of the time.

Amazing app. I don’t usually write reviews but I think this app is incredibly useful. Very easy to use and learn. You can find recipes and import them from websites, it lays the recipe out in a simple, easy to follow way. You can plan your meals for the week and connect your account to the grocery stores you use so you can easily add ingredients you need. Not only that but it’s so helpful to keep track of what you have in your pantry and it will find recipes using the ingredients you already have. I honestly cannot find a fault with this app, I’ve tried many different ones but this is the best for me in terms of all the different features it gives you.

A bit tedious but worth it. Honestly I have always been terrible about blindly grocery shopping and feeling awful when I ended up throwing so much of it away because I never really put the time and effort into meal planning. This app takes some time and devotion in order to work the way it’s intended, but if you keep up with it and add in everything you buy, update expiration dates or if you freeze stuff etc, it is really helpful in reducing food waste! And I’ve found some new favorite recipes that are pretty easy. I love that when filtered to only show recipes using what I have on hand it will still show recipes that I have alternate substitutions for, because it makes your options so much wider while teaching you how you can easily manipulate recipes to your liking. I paid for the full year and I’m glad I did because I know I’ll be using this a lot.

Life changing!. As a child no one talks about this 1 crucial fact about becoming an adult, you’re going to have to plan dinner for yourself nearly every night for the rest of your life, and as a mom and a wife I STRUGGLE making this decision every night for my whole family. This app makes it so easy to find new recipes that I can make simply out of items I already have in my home, by easily connecting the app to my Walmart app. I can also discover brand new recipes and put all ingredients necessary for the recipe directly in my Walmart shopping cart in a simple click of a button! Making online shopping quick and easy! I’ve used this app every day now for a few weeks and I’m LOVING it ❤️and my family is also enjoying all the new dishes!

All the features I’m looking for!. This app is second best to Supercook in terms of available features. They offer recipes that are actually based on what I have in my pantry and provide an ok variety. I’m looking forward to what they add in the future. If I could give a couple suggestions- -All of the food suggested to add to my pantry seems to be Great Value products. I have no idea why. I don’t buy Great Value products and it forces me to search for what I’m actually looking for. It makes the app feel like there’s excessive and needless branding and makes it more difficult to find what I actually want - there are a lot of steps to add food to my pantry that aren’t in the premade lists. I don’t know why but it felt very tedious to add something as simple as frozen artichoke hearts. I couldn’t find frozen ones, and then I could find ones that were generic so I, yet again, had to choose Great Value.

Easy app!. I really like this app. There are so many features to help home cooks find/add recipes, plan meals and shopping lists. It’s worth the money. However, unlike other apps, the recipe directions are hard to read when you’re cooking. The recipe instructions’ font should be VERY LARGE and you should only be able to see one step on the screen. Then, once you’ve completed a step on the recipe, flash your hand in front of the screen to move to the next step. It’s gross to touch your phone while cooking a recipe. Cooklist makes me touch my phone to see the next recipe step but others apps are touch free. If Cooklist had touch-free directions steps for recipes, I’d give it five stars.

Great potential, buggy mess. I love the concept of Cooklist. Being able to automatically import purchases is amazing. Receipt scanning isn’t perfect, but that’s understandable. Unfortunately, the amount of UX friction introduced by bugs has led to me avoiding the app because of how frustrating it is to use. My pain points, in order of how crazy they make me: 1) Every time I open the app, I am reconnecting at least one of my store accounts, usually more. 2) The grocery search database is unusable. It appears that anyone can add their own versions of items, leading to it being extremely difficult to weed out user-entered items that are inaccurate. 3) Laggy, unresponsive UI. Tap remove, wait 5 seconds to see if it registered. Tap the minus sign, wait 5 seconds, didn’t do anything, tap it again, percentage drops from 100% to 50%. 4) Half baked cookbook and shopping list functions. No migration path from other popular cookbook apps. URL import for cookbook doesn’t work well. Shopping list UI is confusing and difficult to use. I had hoped to replace my cookbook and grocery list apps with Cooklist, but that’s a complete non-starter at this point.

Impressed by the features. I have been using Paprika for many years but I am glad that I discovered this app. I like the features that gives me nice nutritional information in a quick visually appealing way, and has a nice breakdown of macronutrients. The app lets you import your own recipes and integrates with a grocery list that actually comparison shops! I am having a bit of a challenge dealing with the inventory management but that is mostly because I live in a household with kids that make things disappear quickly. I am still getting that part of the system down but I find the app nice to use. I am not sure that this will replace my current shopping list, though.

Exciting App with Multiple Functions. I needed a way to keep track of expiration dates for foods. Pleased that the app gathers data from recent grocery trips, and as an added bonus suggests recipes showing the ingredients we have on hand. The app is intuitive and easy to get started with. The only areas of improvement I may suggest would be to 1) add a gluten free filter for recipes, and 2) not all stores imported my recent purchases as shown in the email confirmation I received. But happily it didn’t take long to scan the items the app didn’t import because of the large food database. It seems to me after reading the reviews, that the developers are continually finding new ways to improve upon an already great app. This builds confidence, and I plan to remain a loyal subscriber.

Great grocery shopping experience. Cooklist has helped me to organize my grocery list based on my meal plan. It lets me track pantry items and will even load pantry items ordered online from other stores I shop at. The tool has a searchable recipe base of healthy meal suggestions to add to my weekly meal plan. it can filter recipes based on the main ingredients in my pantry, and identify missing pantry items to add to my grocery list. Cooklist saves time by finding available local store items based on my entered grocery list. I can compare prices and selections across available stores in my area, and then search the individual stores to make any necessary selection changes based on item availability. On checkout, it has been easy to find an available delivery or pickup window within a reasonable timeframe. The Cooklist support team has been very helpful throughout the ordering and delivery process from confirming both receipt of my order and when it has been placed with the store, allowing me to add additional items to my order prior to delivery, notifying me of expected delivery time on the day of delivery and following up with me to check on my satisfaction with the overall delivery experience. Overall, I’ve had a great experience using both the tool and the service to order for grocery planning, ordering and delivery and plan to use it for future orders.

Not ready yet. I down loaded the free part not wanting to spend $50 till I knew if it would work. I was having to constantly reconnect with Kroger, could not connect with Publix and when I tried to enter a product from an independent grocer, was directed to pay in order to manually enter a product. Sorry, not enough positive going on here to go further. Excellent concept. Keep working on it. Update: I went ahead and download the pay side. I still don’t have Publix as an option. Still, this a very impressive app and I keep finding new things that I like. It will have five stars when they bring Publix back.

Finally an awesome grocery, home inventory, meal planning solution. I have used a meal planning app for the past year but it was not at all like Cooklist! Cooklist is there for the complete cycle of groceries, cooking, planning, shopping and includes nutritional information, tracking expiration dates and comparison shopping. It’s so easy to use and I love how it automatically loads in grocery orders to the pantry. Recipes are not “exclusive” to the app so you aren’t limited to a small set of options for the week. We have saved money by using what we have on hand and using the comparison shopping feature. We’ve wasted less food, money and time. For a little over $1 per week, it has had a huge impact on our grocery budget and healthy meal planning.

All Encompassing- This. Fixes. Everything.. I'm a picky eater. I forget all the time about what's in my pantry/fridge/freezer and throw away rotten food all the time. One week my kids love grapes, so I buy more and then they don't eat them. What do I do with all these random-about-to-expire foods? And after giving up on worrying about it and just throwing food away, I spend 2 hours meal planning on pinterest. I lay it out on paper and online pick-up shop just to get home with 3 or 4 things I already have and didn't know it! It's exasperating! This. App. Fixes. EVERYTHING. For. FREE. No ads. It's easy and clean. No glitches so far. They even have a chatbot THAT'S NOT A ROBOT. Crazy right? Try it. You need it. Go already!

Simple Simple Simple. So far I have used the pantry feature and used it to try the “cook now” feature. Entering items is so simple and it has a surprising archive already built in. I used the reader to capture each item and then +- to update amounts. The cook now feature can be filtered for diet, prep time etc. it’s been really thoughtfully designed! After selecting the recipe, which I had and it was delicious! The next time I opened the app, it asked if I used the recipe and then allowed me to update the pantry list accordingly. I love to cook and have an extensive pantry. . . Seriously a lot for daily and emergency provisions and it was entered in just a couple hours. . . Learning curve slowed me at times, but it’s great! I could after shopping just clicking and entering would take just a few minutes. It also prevents you from duplication and alerts if you already entered something. So, if you have things in different locations, just move through and you can update as you get to duplicate items. Loving this app so far!

Changed the way I think about my cooking. We’ve tried shipped meal prep services and all sort of cooking apps, but this app just makes sense for our family. We have a bunch of food but often don’t know what to do with it or forget we have it. The receipt scanning feature is a game changer. Every recipe suggestion has been a repeater and we never would’ve thought to include some of the more “odd” replacement ingredient suggestions. It’s amazing how so many meals can be made with a couple staple ingredients and some fruits and veggies. It’s helped us step out of our meal funk. I’ve already recommended it to a few friends.

Great but…. I’m really enjoying this app however there are some things I feel could be improved. If I make a recipe it opens my pantry so I can cross off items I used as needed, first off it doesn’t pull the ingredients I actually used and there is no search so I have to go to my pantry to update certain items, second I think it would be great if when I say “I Made This” it just automatically updated my pantry for me. I also would love to see a feature where you can filter out ingredients, for instance I’m allergic to red meat but I’m not on a specific diet so using the meal planner is great but I still have to weed through it all to find recipes that don’t include my allergens, having a filter with common proteins or vegetables that you could filter would be perfect for this.

Great app I recommended until imports stopped. With the advancement in AI. receipts scanning and auto ingredient matching this app have great value at the free tier. I totally understand all the advance filter features at the pro level. I wish the recipe imports did not move from free pro level. It went from unlimited imports to zero, not 1k, 500 or 100 but zer0 web imports. Seems like with every update, Features that were initially free are being moved into the pro subscription. Users help build out the data with pics and information but still get locked out of features. Thank goodness there’s open AI chat GPT and SuperCook to help us less demanding user along the way. With all that said, I will still recommend this app due to it free features. I don’t really follow recipes but use it for inspiration to use what I got. Bring web recipes import to match ingredients and substitute, even if it a limited number of imports.

New wife & mom saved my anxiety. Trying to balance budget, while being a new wife and now a new mother! It’s hard in today’s world and we find ourselves constantly trying to find two pennies to rub together. This app has already saved us $400 and we only have been using it for a month. Not only that, but my anxiety has been lessened when comes to cooking and budgeting. My husband loves trying the new recipes too. I used to menu, lists and calendar all with pen and paper, now just a few clicks and everything is saved for me. No more forgetting to buy something at the grocery store, no more over purchasing, no more stress. Grateful

Love it, when it works. This app is everything I’ve been looking for in a meal planning app. You can make grocery lists, inventory your pantry, add recipes from multiple online sources and manually and the best part is that all of those functions are in sync. You add a meal and you’re missing ingredients, those ingredients automatically get added to your grocery list. I really only have one problem, when the app glitches out and I can’t use some of the functions so I have to delete the app and reinstall it. So far, I’ve had an issue where my grocery would not load no matter what I did and lately I have been having an issue where the app won’t let me change the starting dates for my weekly meal plans. Just deleted and reinstalled so hopefully that fixes it, but I really wish the bugs would be resolved because outside those issues it is a fantastic tool.

I love this app!. As someone who used to spend HOURS meal planning, struggling to come up with new meals while still budgeting correctly, this app is a life-saver! I love that I have a source that keeps my personal recipes with new ones to try. I also love not forgetting to buy something at the store that I didn’t realize I needed thanks to having the pantry tab. I literally tell everyone that will listen about this amazing app! The only thing I would like to see added is the ability to type a recipe from scratch. I sometimes come up with stuff on the fly and instead of just being able to add it in to add it to my shopping list, I first have to write it out or type it so I can import a picture. Kind of inconvenient.

Want to love it, but very glitchy for me. I absolutely love the concept of Cooklist, but setting it up has been difficult and time consuming as the app moves very slow and can be glitchy at times. When adding items to my pantry it isn’t uncommon for the app to freeze, quit, or not recognize an item that I had added previously and it had an entry for. I also have trouble with products being added to wrong categories (spice blend being labeled as a sauce, etc) which wouldn’t be a huge deal if I could fix it quickly but the app can be rather slow to load and process new data inputs. I have a rather large inventory of spices and pantry staples so it isn’t quite efficient for me. I’ll continue to use in hopes that new updates come out that fix these issues, I really think it could be huge help to me in the kitchen and I’d love to use it optimally. I would love to see it get a little smarter and have the ability to indicate how much of something we have to that we can know when we’re running low; particularly spices or things that come multiple to a pack. Overall, I think it’s a cool tool for home cooks, but just be mindful of be time commitment that it may take on the front end if you have lots to add!

Best $50 I have ever spent!. I always have pantry, fridge and freezer with food to cook but never know what to make. I’m a mom of two and wife of a 3rd child plus I work full time and nobody can ever come up with a dinner idea besides steak and green beans or spaghetti. The pro version allows me to input everything in my kitchen with expiration date for those ingredients I usually end up throwing away. Instead of going to the store everyday cooking the same stuff I just choose cook now and it gives me recipes to make with what I already have. No joke this app has already saved me $100 and I have only had it a week 1/2!!!

Obsessed!. I am obsessed with this app! I have a horrible time keeping track of what I have and when things are going to expire. With this I have been able to keep my food costs lower and expand my tastes. The different filters are incredibly convenient for whatever type of food you’re in the mood for. I love the fact that there is an option for when you freeze food and that it makes a grocery list for you to use and updates the pantry. The feature of having it also help you remember to take those items from the pantry is just amazing. I hear about this app from a budget planner who has helped me with so many things but this app is a gold mine. There are so many recipes to pick from and if you don’t have an ingredient it will try to come up with substitutions you can use. Planning meals and staying on budget has never been easier for me and my family. Thank you Cooklist for existing. The chat rooms that offer help are excellent as well. They’ve cleared up every issue I’ve had so far with ease. I LOVE this app.

So Worth It!!!. i absolutely LOVE this app. my husband & i never know what to make for dinner & this app makes my life SO much easier & less stressful to say the least. It only costs a little less than $50 for the ENTIRE YEAR and there’s a 7 day trial when you start!! we used to use Hello Fresh & we hated it but absolutely love this app over anything. i can’t believe how awesome this is! Cooklist allows you to: •build a pantry list •give/take the amount of how much of an ingredient you actually have •tells you how many ingredients you have/don’t have for a recipe •gives substitution ingredients for anything missing •make a grocery list for anything you run out of •add your grocery stores •meal plan for the week •reminds you when to meal plan if you choose •add food allergies/diets to make recipes fit for you and your family (vegetarian, vegan, paleo, keto) •shows how long it’ll take to cook & prep •SUPER easy step by step directions for the recipe

Cooklist has seriously impressed me!. I'm currently using the unpaid version. The first thing you do is link your grocery stores. Then, scan the barcode of each food item or snap a pic of your receipt to add them to your Pantry. After a grocery trip, new items get added automatically because my store is linked. When I'm ready to cook, I hit the Cook page, toggle 'Cook Now' to see recipes with ingredients I already have. There are some awesome filters on the Cook page, but they're not in the free version. After cooking, it prompts me to review/update used ingredients, and removing items from my pantry when finished is a satisfying touch. The option to add used items to the shopping list seems handy, although I haven't tried it yet. I haven't explored the meal planner either, but it's on my list! Having all my food inventory on my phone is so convenient. Plus, the app shows past purchases and grocery spending data over time, by category & store. It's amazing! It’s helped me save money, made cooking easier and keeps me more organized.

Simple tool, overly complicated tutorial and welcome process. I downloaded this app and was so excited to get started. Unfortunately the pop ups in the beginning with suggestions and how to use the app were insanely annoying and there was no way to exit or dismiss all of them. I forced closed the app multiple times and they’d still pop up. I couldn’t scan an item without a bunch of other prompts popping up of what to do next. Then any other area of the app that I tapped, a bunch more prompts would open up in that area! I tapped the recipe area and I got all these prompts of what do do and how to save stuff. There was no way to stop this awful pop up tutorial cycle. Why no “skip” option? After even just 5 minutes of using the app I was so frustrated I canceled the subscription and deleted it. It’s such an incredibly easy tool with a WAY overly complicated instruction processes. There should be a way to dismiss the tutorial altogether! And the chat lady welcoming me and her picture staying there because she’s the assistant? I wish that would go away, too. If you’ve used any sort of food tracking app (like MyFitnessPal) then this is basically it, plus a Pinterest-like feature that draws ideas from that. Unfortunately way too irritating with pop ups for me!

What I’ve been looking for!. I can’t believe I found it! Pantry inventory, Walmart shopping import, meal planning, nutritional info, recipe imports, and more!!! I am so elated with this app. Just a few suggestions from a family-of-5 mom: Apple Health sync, portion selection for individual days in the meal plan (if I cook spaghetti and have one portion that same night, and 2 portions the next day, I want to differentiate), adding family members let’s them share the pantry, but they create their own meal plan which can be toggled to show up on your account meal plan (so you know where the food has gone!), scan to remove items option, scanning the same item twice gives the option to add to what you already have instead of just “you already scanned this”, meal plan iOS calendar sync. A HUGE hug to the developers! I hope my mom-perspective suggestions are helpful! - Robyn

So far, so good!. I give it 4 stars because it’s a great app! It just has some things I think that would benefit with an update. 1. Expired stuff, we have a revolving door of ingredients in the kitchen like milk and butter that doesn’t require a notification about expirations because there’s always a fresh stock of it. I wish we could turn off the expired tags. 2. I want to import recipes but it can get lengthy and a little cumbersome. I wish it was a faster process, and I think it will be with some help from AI as the tech gets smarter. 3. Recipes already in the app could be more seasonal/rotate. Every time I go to the recipe section it’s kind of all the same looking. A little bit of fresh updates, changes in seasonality based recipes would be great!

VERY INCONSISTENT. Doesn’t work with all stores (I.e Albertsons/Vons) even though they are linked. Works okay with Ralphs/Krogers. My biggest complaint is putting in your own item. Trying to replace an image for your own item keeps picking the same old image. This app is a WIP (Work in progress). The developer should look at a product called Carb Manager that allows you to even take a product from their database and make it your own, editing the description and images and even submitting for review so someone can get use out of it. But it the meantime, I can use my own version. In my 48 years in technology, the last 25 running an IT and software development company, I wouldn't put an app out like this. I’ll re-rate, once I see some improvements. The support has been responsive which is why the 2 stars.

Broad matches are just annoying. I wanted to love this app, but when you switch on the cook now, it gives you recipes with ingredients that you may only have broad matches for. These are not good substitutes and there should be an option to choose how closely your pantry meets the recipe requirements instead of random broad matches. An example is this: for this chocolate turtle cake recipe one of the ingredients was chocolate turtles obviously. Their broad match was some toxic waste candy that I had in my pantry. Obviously you cannot have a chocolate turtle cake without chocolate turtles. The cook now section was the whole reason I got this app and paid for the subscription so I could see what I can cook with the ingredients I have available but it’s frustrating to have to check a bunch of recipes to find one that I ACTUALLY have ingredients for.

I waited for an app like this for years!. I should have invented this app if I had the coding skills because I’d wanted exactly this for years. It made my life so much easier. My favorite feature was being able to connect it to my local grocery store member account so that it automatically updated my pantry with my purchases. I don’t often write app reviews but I decided I should write this one because I ended up canceling my subscription only because I started dating a chef and then we moved in together, which made it pointless. Otherwise I’d still be using it!

A lot of potential, but a lot of glitches. This app has the potential to be really great, but there are a lot of glitches that are really frustrating. When adding items to my pantry, either manually or by scanning my receipt, it will seem fine at import, and then the next day is all weird and has several items in there twice or not at all. And when creating recipes, it often will act like it’s saved, but then it disappears and I’ll have to do it all over again. The premise of this app is superb, and a lot of things work well, but the glitches (in the free version at least) are really quite annoying. I would not pay for the premium version until it’s clear these glitches can be stopped.

Takes some time to learn but really worth the effort!. I can tell there are still some technical kinks to be worked out to make it more user friendly, but if you put in the time upfront to input your pantry/fridge/freezer/household goods and be sure to update your inventory regularly, it will REALLY help you make use of what you have and not blow your budget. I used to spend so much on food because I would go pick up new ingredients for a recipe I wanted to make and I would find that either I already had some of the ingredients and I simply forgot, or I could’ve used substitutes or just made something from what I had at home. This app will help you realize how many meals you actually have hidden in your home! It offers substitutes, expiration date reminders and even gives the option to cook with only what you have or to add some missing ingredients to your shopping list so you can meal plan effectively.

Don’t pay! Scam!. I paid $50 for the subscription and it dose not unlock anything! Just use it for free you get the same access. It will tell you that you can unlock things when purchasing the subscription but any time I try to use them it pops up and tells me I have to pay for the subscription again. I used Apple Pay to purchase my subscription and nothing unlocked! DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY! I I was excited to be able to use the filters and see the different vitamins in the foods but even when you pay the options to filter and see vitamins levels are not available. It’s a good app if you are not paying but don’t was your money it will not unlock anything in the app and every time you try to use the pro features it pops back up telling you to pay the same amount again and will never let you use the feature. The first time I though my payment didn’t go through but when I checked my subscriptions on my settings it shows it was paid so the app is just trying to scam you!

Pantry at your fingertips. This app’s concept is genius. Its an efficient approach to food planning that saves time, money, and food waste. Super useful to reference while at the store. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered whether I have [ingredient], purchased it, and come home to find that I already have the item. Also, I really like the feature where their recipes give you options to swap niche items out that you may not have in your existing spice cabinet (and may not intend to purchase) for more generic substitutes. It’s a modern approach to cooking; solves real life busy people problems.

Love this app. Love that i dont have to pay for this app to be useful. I feel that it gives you the chance to love it on its own to want to pay for features that can be even more helpful but not necessary for this app to be useful. I struggle with having too many things in my pantry and fridge because i live with other people and my stuff gets shoved to the back and buy multiples for this reason.. but with this app i can keep track of everything AND can save money because it gives me recipes i can make with the stuff thats in my pantry already and gives the list of the ingridients i need for the recipe only so i can quickly add to cart of target or walmart or wherever i need to shop. Out of all other apps doing this, this one is the best!!!

Game Changer!. This will seriously help me stay organized in the fridge and pantry, save money by making sure I’m buying things we actually need, and stay organized with a meal plan. There is a $50 yearly subscription, just a 7-day free trial. To me, it’s worth it! This app does so much work for users. Make your own customized meal plans, recipe collections, barcode scan items from your pantry and fridge to track what you have AND how much of each item as well as expiration dates. They thought of literally everything. I love this more than I thought I would! My main concern was, if things are complicated I won’t stick to it. But this is so effortless. It took maybe an hour to go thru everything we have - and that’s only because I found so much that needed to be thrown away and reorganized everything!!!!! I use instacart and after connecting to my account the app loaded all my new groceries into my inventory 😍 LOVE THIS. Thank you!!!

Not accurate on "cook now" options. Per the description, you are supposed to be able to put your items in the pantry section and when looking for a recipe, you can click the cook now option to see what you can cook now with items on hand. This is not accurate. This is false advertisements. I cannot find a recipe that I am not missing items from. Even the main items. I do not have pork chops. I have not put pork chops in my pantry and yet I keep getting recipes to cook now with pork chops. this app is not a good option for those looking for quick recipes that you can cook now with items in pantry. Don't waste your money. It does show expiration dates, tracks your spending at stores, helps you remember to order food or buy food, and keeps your stock up-to-date as long as you keep it up-to-date. That aspect is cool writing it two stars because of the false advertisement and the difficult set up.

Everything I’ve been wanting. This app is literally everything I’ve been wanting. I was dreaming of an app the would all me to plan meals, keep inventory of my pantry, and curate a shopping list and this app does that plus more. The best part is, it’s all automated! The app is smart enough to add missing ingredients from your meal plan to your shopping list and remove them from the pantry after you cook with them. This app is literally the best thing for someone who wants to meal plan/prep, and limit grocery store trips, but needs to see everything laid out visually. Cannot stress it enough that this app is the bomb dot com. Do download!!!!

Use this on your old i devices!. This app is great for all of the reasons listed by everyone else, but my favorite is definitely the pantry-related features, and that this works on older versions of IOS. I have a 10 year old iPad command-stripped to the kitchen wall that I use for HomeKit, music, recipies, etc. Now it can also be where I can see what I have, what I should eat/cook, and can let others in the house see everything too! I’m hoping to get my old iPhone set up as my always plugged in trash-can scanner. One request is that the scanner have a button to swap cameras, since my iPad use case only works on the front camera.

Amazing app for budgeting and meal planning. I love this app so so so so so much. It does an amazing job with creating an inventory of my pantry, as well as estimating prices of my meals. You can also scan your receipts and look at how much you spent over time. There are a few issues I had: 1. The receipts will only be analyzed on the spend by category section if it is from a store listed on the app. I do most of my shopping at Trader Joe’s, so I cannot see how I am spending my money for a majority of my shopping. 2. When I make a meal plan, I can only place eat meal at one type of meal. For example, if I make a soup and I plan on eating it for dinner and lunch, there is no way to put it as both. I can only make it a dinner and not lunch (and vise versa). 3. I wish I could do all my work on my computer. It would be awesome to have a website version! It would be so much faster. My solution was using my ipad instead, but a computer would be so much faster. Over all, I love this app and I think it is going so far!

Fix it please!. Hi! I recently downloaded the app and it has all the features I was looking for in an app but unfortunately it is extremely frustrating to use. I want to be able to type in my own recipes. It is extremely difficult to edit recipes and photos. Half the time the edits/photos do not save. I wish I could build a recipe with the ingredients in my pantry so that the app knows exactly what I want to use in that recipe the next time I make it. I try to swap out some ingredients and it just does not register what I’m trying to do. It just seems super buggy and not working right. I made sure my app and phone were updated too. I want to LOVE this app but I’m super frustrated with it.

Amazing Free App. As a new mom and wife, managing the home is the most important yet difficult thing on the planet. i have tried multiple apps but they never mount to this one. It’s as if this app was designed specifically for me. it has great recipes categorized by type or by effort, it shows me in the recipe what items i already have and what substitutions i can use, which saves me money $$. my favorite part is the fact that in the shopping cart, it tells me what i’m going to spend at the grocery store! this is huge! because, I know how much to budget for. never before could groceries really be exactly budgeted in my household, until now! still learning all the new things but love this app!!! moms definitely worth checking into!

Over organized and over the moon. I’m over organized and things like having access to my pantry and planning all my meals make me SO happy. I’m one to go to the store and look for sales and then wing it throughout the week but since using Cooklist I’ve been going into the store with a plan but also searching for sales that I can mix into those meals or use for other times! This has really helped me prioritize using my pantry rather than buying a million condiments that are half used in my refrigerator

Went from tired all the time to energetic and happy!. I found this app looking for something to give me recipes based on what's in my pantry, but i found something that is So much more capable. Between all of the features, my meal planning is a breeze, and now I can make sure I've got the energy I need to live a healthy life without all the work I always thought I'd need to learn foods. TL;DR : I highly recommend Cooklist to anyone looking to eat better, smarter, and cheaper.

Everyone needs this app. I’m not the type of person that spends money on apps outside of streaming music and movies. But this app already paid for itself. Knowing the nutritional value of everything I eat makes it easy to eat healthier and cut down on food waste. It’s been 3 weeks and I’ve lost 10 pounds. With so many cooking options I haven’t had to go shopping and I’ve saved so much money already!

Best meal & Kitchen App. I downloaded about a half dozen of these kinds of apps to review them. This is definitely my favorite. The interface is great, and the features are very intelligent and well thought out. It has several things I would not have even thought of but that are really helpful, like the ability to link to local stores, so that it automatically imports groceries you purchase. Also, the ability to scan and do object character recognition on your recipes is really cool. so, yeah, do recommend.

Loving this app. I stumbled on this app on IG (I think 🤣) and it’s already my favorite app for recipes. I get so discouraged having to buy a huge container of something I’ll probably only use once. With this app it’s so easy to use what I have. Made my first recipe today and I was sooo impressed with what I was able to actually make with simple ingredients I already had at home. This app makes it so much easier to “use what I have” before shopping for groceries again. Makes it easy to make a list of things I may need to get too. Super recommend this to anyone who wants to cook a homemade meal but doesn’t want to be a “chef” 😂

Responsive support. I previously used Paprika and my current primary recipe app is Plan To Eat, which has detailed planning features that best meet my needs. But Cooklist’s pantry management and recipe matching features are excellent. I enjoy using it when brainstorming what to cook based on what I already have. Support is extremely responsive and they roll out new updates regularly, which I take as a great sign for the future of this app. Happy to be a paid subscriber to support their evolution. Next feature I’ll be looking for is integration with Instacart.

Nice idea but buggy. I really want to like this app since I’ve already paid for it. There are some cool features that work well. I like the expiration reminders! Searching for recipes based on what I have in hand is incredibly helpful. Scanning barcodes to inventory what was already in my pantry worked well. But the meal planning feature is very buggy. I am a single person household so if I pick a recipe and want to eat leftovers for lunch the next day, that confuses it. And if I change the date to cook something on a different day, it’ll change every meal in the plan to that date. I already paid for the annual subscription, so I hope they can fix these bugs!

Seems awesome but.... This app looks great. It's a bit expensive for what it does - but if it saves my ADHD brain from buying stuff I already have at home, it will pay for itself. However - no iPad landscape support? I go between these two devices when planning everything and use a keyboard on my iPad. Just set it to allow rotation or literally anything that doesn't force portrait view! Second, if I put in a meal plan or food that I have prepared, it should deduct some value from the food I have in my pantry. For instance, if I bake something calling for two eggs, it should deduct two eggs. As it stands now, my eggs are at 70% - which is also counterintuitve. An option to change how we view remaining product would be lovely.

Helpful but buggy. I’m on the paid plan so dealing with the bugs has been frustrating. I can’t get the app to stay connected to my Kroger account. And the recipe upload/import feature is beyond frustrating. I can see my little recipe images when I’m in the main categories section, but when I click inside there’s nothing there. I’ve tried multiple times. The confusing part is that sometimes it works. Other than this, I do love the pantry and meal planning features. So I’m holding on for hope that Dev will continue to improve the app. If not, I won’t likely renew my subscription and try a different app instead.

Cooklist pressured review. I did not come to write a review willing. It was a push notification that got me. But since I’m here; I like the app. It’s easy to search recipes, and it’s way easy to add recipes in from anywhere if you can the URL of the recipe. I paid for the year, only one member in a household needs to pay in order for the household to have premium access. They better NOT change that. The only bad thing is that the substitutions can get a little wild.

The best pantry tracking app!. This app is amazing! Took me 4 hours to scan every thing in my pantry, but I must say this was the best thing I have ever done! Between the ability to have a recipe available with the ingredients I have, or the ability to know what food is expiring soon so I can use it before it goes bad! This app is amazing I would give a 6/5 if I could! The initial upload of what you currently have is the worst part but if you link your stores with the app it’s a breeze moving forward!

Works Great, 1 Missing Feature. We love the ingredients and recipes features, those are super helpful. Awesome that cooking a recipe prompts you to check off the things you used from your pantry! We normally have a separate shopping list for each grocery store, since we buy certain things at each place. At the moment, my wife doesn’t want to use the app too much because we can’t organize our shopping list like that. If you could add that option, we’d stay subscribers!

Glitchy Never Worked. This wasted my time. As a busy working single mom this app was supposed to be a help and it wasted A LOT of time. Some stores claimed to be connecting for 2 days, it could not transfer the shopping list to the store, inaccurate descriptions and measurements, all this after the extensive pantry adding process that wants you to scan barcodes exclusively. A lot of recipes are duplicates of basics like multiple recipes for scrambled eggs and then they repeat. Great Idea terrible execution. I rarely leave reviews but please do not waste your time or money! Just get something else that works even if it doesn’t pick stuff based on what you have it’s just not worth it I promise

Honestly Impressed. I’ve never had another app that has been so useful in figuring out what to make for dinner or what I really need to buy. Not to mention the expiration date calculator, that lets me know if my milk has gone bad or not. The amount of features that even the free version has is honestly refreshing after downloading so many apps only to find that you HAVE to pay in order to do anything. All around it’s one of my fav apps right now.

What I’ve been looking for. We don’t have a lot of cupboard space and a lot of stuff gets pushed to the back of the cupboard and forgotten about. Having stock of all we have on my phone is a game changer. And having the ability to find recipes for what I have is a great bonus. If you never feel like you have anything to cook or have trouble keeping track of your inventory this is the solution.

I love this app BUT... I wish there was a portion for a discount for snap users. I’m a single mom to two so I can not afford much and it’s hard to plan meals for a toddler and a 6m old and myself when that portion doesn’t have at least a discount or a free trial for a month. As a single mom, it’s HARD to figure out meal plans so I love this app! But I would really harp on the snap incorporation. Have us verify our card with the app, like that would attract so many more snap users as well. ❤️ Hope this helps 🥰 -Single mom to 2. ❤️

Nonsensical Approach. I bake a lot both wheat and gluten free. I had hoped this woyld would help track my large inventory of ingredients. It doesn’t. While it will scan a large percentage of your stock on hand using the phone, it doesnt scan duplicates. So, no tracking if you have 8oz or 10 lbs. Theres limited support for ingredients used in gluten free baking, including well known names like Bob’s Red Mill and Judee’s. I also want to track my own mixes and ingredients as they have a limited shelf life. No luck here. The recipes idea is cute but pointless in the context of inventory management. Put that into a separate app. As a baker, I really need to know what I have on hand, and as I use ingredients- it helps me track the impact to inventory. Thats where an external recipe feature that I can add my own recipes to would help. If I use 3 cups of flour, 2tsp of yeast and 1/3 cup of olive oil, decrement my inventory. If I’m running low, put it on my shopping list. Some of the recipes I looked at link to blogs that skip the instructions. Instead you get reminiscing about TV shows from the ‘80s.

Best app ever!! 🤩⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This app is so helpful! I just moved out and am still learning how to meal plan well balanced meals. Cooklist helps so much. It shows recipes to try based on your diet, a pantry feature, you can grocery shop (my favorite feature is it shows how much the groceries will cost based on your local stores), you can meal plan for the week, and so much more. Coolist is an amazing app for anyone struggling with cooking, planning meals, or wanting to try new recipes. Highly recommend this app!

Overall, great app. Love the concept of this app. Struggling with the use of the app on my Samsung especially with the camera function. Switched to my iPad and am enjoying all the features. I’m having trouble transferring my shopping list to target, it keeps logging me out. Haven’t tried the other stores I have connected. But overall, such a great app that has made life much easier with finding quick meals with my pantry options. Would have given 5 stars if it worked well with the target app and better with my Samsung.

Dorm cooking made easy. It’s really cool I can just add the few things I have in my dorm kitchen and it will give me soooo many recipes in return. Even if some things are missing a few ingredients, it gives you substitution ideas- and I’m sure plenty of recipes would be fine without one type of seasoning. I always have a hard time finding recipes with the sparse ingredients that I have and this app completely solved that! At first I was a little off put because I thought it was required to pay a yearly fee for “pro” but luckily I noticed the X and now am enjoying the free version of the app :)

Absolutely love this app. This app is everything I don’t know I needed. I love that I can keep up with all the food I have in my freezer, pantry, and refrigerator along with expiration dates. I love the fact that I can make recipes from what I have at home when I don’t have time to go to the store. I love the fact that it builds my grocery list for me based on whatever recipes I pick. Also, I like the fact that it will sub in the items that I have at home and that has made my grocery shopping less expensive.

AMAZING. Scanning foods is so quick, very easy and simple to use. The collection of recipes we can add and that it suggests based on individual pantry items is amazing. Plus you can put in allergies and things to avoid. Amazing. This app honestly only looses a star as it would be nice to put it an approximation amount of what is left. This would need to be an optional add to some items in the pantry. Like molasses - we don’t cook with that often but we keep it on hand it would be nice if we could optionally put it in how much is left.

Awesome app, attentive devs!. Edit: The devs listened to my issue and applied an update that now makes the app work great on my XS Max! Awesome app with a great team behind it, keep up the amazing work guys! Old review: Have to tap multiple times (10-20) to get upper left and right screen controls to respond (back button, share, save recipe, etc). The app works well otherwise, but this is a major issue and should be checked out. I’ve reset and reloaded the app and my phone, with no change. Rating low for now, but will gladly crank up the stars if they can fix this.

100 times easier!. Me and my fiancé just got this app and already in love with it. We consistently find ourselves at the grocery store questioning if we have this ingredient or that back home. With this not only can you see what’s in your pantry from your phone, it’ll help you find things to cook with the things you already have. We already have tried a few recipes and love them all. This is a must buy and worth the membership fee.

I’m going plant-based, so this app is really helpful. I have the free version of this app and I love it. I am looking to pay for it eventually but right now I’m not in the financial space for that haha. But I can already tell that the paid version will be worth it, too. Right now, I am trying to gradually go plant-based and I am struggling to see what I can make based on what fruits, vegetables, and other foods I already have, and the free version also helps with that.

Great app. Some tweaks to meal plan.. The import/export feature with linked grocery store account is very useful. The database of recipes is vast. Importing a recipe from an outside website works great. Things I would want to see…. When doing planning, being able to use the cook now recipes where you can include not only what’s already in your pantry but also what’s on your shopping list This would make planning meals for the week much faster.

Recipes call for items that aren’t in your pantry. To begin, you have to create your “pantry.” It is encouraged to sync your data from your chosen grocery store. I linked the account I use for my grocery pickup. While the app syncs, you can select the other items you have in your actual pantry that may have been missing from the auto loaded grocery order. I filtered the app to show only items I have in my pantry. The majority of the recipes showing were basic like 12 similar recipes alone for baked chicken, and the others called for ingredients I did not say I had. Again, I filtered the recipes to align with the option of “only show what I can make right now” and that was my experience. Just use google instead for basic recipes.

Refresh devices. Just started using this. So far I like it. Some really good and helpful features. My issue is when using this on different devices it doesn’t update. For instance I was coming home from a week away. As passenger I used my phone to update my meal plan. I had worked on it while away. On my iPad, one of the meals I added was not there. On my husbands iPad, none of the meals were there. Had husband logg out and then log back in and all items show up. I didn’t see any way to do a refresh to ensure I’m getting the latest data. This needs to be fixed.

Food for my OCD brain. Honestly I was lying in my bed thinking about how nice it would be to have an app pantry organizer like how I have an app to organize my wardrobe and plan outfits (Stylebook if you’re interested) and I searched it up in the AppStore to try my luck. I’m pleasantly surprised with the coincidence that this app did indeed exist It’s a god send for my OCD. I used to take a picture of all my groceries and refer to it whenever I wanted to make a meal because honestly, going into the pantry and building a meal plan with my mind is overwhelming. This app cured this unnecessary stress thank you so much :)

Great first impressions, wish they had expanded store selection. I’m rating off my first impressions and will hopefully be back after some time with lasting impact. This app is very great and really intuitive to use. I needed a pantry app to keep inventory on the products we have at home so we know what we need and reduce overbuying of the wrong things and this solves for that with extra benefits. I love the option to link it to your grocery stores but they only have one of mine. Please add BJs and Misfits Market to your store section and I think you’d be next to perfect!

Cooklist is amazing!. The devs seem to have thought of everything when designing this app. I have no complaints at all, and I’m quite a picky person! I love that I can scan all my groceries into the app by their barcode and that the app generates thousands of recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, desserts, and drinks based on what I already have. It makes finding good recipes much easier and eliminates the need to go to the store to get a missing ingredient. I also think the expiration feature is pretty useful! Really love the app. Thanks Cooklist! 🙂

Great App But Could Be Improved. Cooklist is a great app, and I give it 4 stars. What would make it a 5 star app in my mind would be adding recipe import from the web, and improvement in recipe sourcing overall. I love the pantry tracking, and shopping features, and the ability to search for recipes according to what I have on hand. I just think that for a paid app it should allow me to import recipes as I search the internet like other apps I know that are similar. I do think the photo import from a cookbook or paper recipe is awesome as I have tons of cookbooks.

Even less features for Free users now?. The free version of this app was great for me, until it updated. I used to be able to manually write down recipes without limits (seemingly). I have physical cookbooks that I want to “digitize” for convenience’s sake, quickly glancing if I can make them with Cooklist’s pantry feature. I didn’t mind spending the time to write them down on this app, but with the new update I can only scan recipes or upload from websites? Okay I guess I’ll scan my cookbooks…. Wait what? I can only scan like 3 recipes until it kicks me to pay for the Pro version? Please bring back manual recipe inputs or at least increase the scanned recipe maximum for the free version.

Best & most used app I have on my phone!!!. My husband looooves the app and pays for it every month for me to use. It’s truly the best app and the most used I have on my phone. I literally use it 2-3 times a day! The recipes are delicious! The fact that it finds recipes with whatever I have in my pantry is truly amazing and a blessing, especially with the way everything is so expensive right now! Truly whoever thought and created this app is truly a blessing and amazing! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Have ADHD? This is helpful!. Having this app has been a game changer! I know that sounds cliche and saying that makes it more of a cliche. But this is a truly fantastic app. 100% worth the price. I use it every week. The expiration dates are so great to have. The organization is customizable, very easy to work with, the recipes are so great. The fact that you can search and see how many ingredients in your pantry will be used in a recipe!?! BEYOND AMAZING. Excellent tool. MUST HAVE!

This app is the holy Grail of what I’ve been looking for. It’s the only app that has all of the features that are needed as a household. The ability to add multiple people to the household for meal plans and grocery list and recipe ideas, a super easy, scanning barcode system, to add items to your pantry, and a really easy way to make a meal plan for the family for the whole week, including dietary restrictions that differ among each of our family members. Mine was truly front blown by this app and I am so grateful for it.

Amazing!!!. Cooklist features everything I want for an app about cooking. It helps manage things in my pantry, and grocery lists, it also has amazing recipes from people and tells me substitutions and if I’m missing anything. I also emailed Cooklist and it did absolutely amazing in helping me by giving out a new feature. Cooklist took me into consideration and actually bothered to read my email. I’m stunned this is an amazing app and I definitely will be recommending this to literally everyone I know.

So Cute and Helpful!. I have only been using this app for a few days buts it’s so cute and helpful! I love that I can see the groceries that I have and need right from my phone and can easily plan meals for my family and I! I’m surprised at the amount of recipes that they give you! And you can buy the upgrade but I don’t have it and there are still so many things you can do in this app and it makes cooking and meal planning over all so much easier for me!

Little buggy but Great organization. Sometimes if you wait too long the app will fight with the server to undo recipe edits and meal plans, and a little buggy updating your pantry after you cook something. Seams not to grab main ingredients and lists other item to remove. Premium membership is okay for the easiest recipe searches. I still give 4 stars because of the inventory and expiration controls. I use the eat now option and get amazing dishes that I didn’t know I had.

Absolute Game Changer. From ingredients and pantry list, recipes based on ingredients you have, planning meals, planning shopping trips, comparing prices at nearby stores, buying your groceries in the app, expiration reminders, complete customization and organization! I’m in love and recommend it to every single one of my clients. As a health coach this is such a great way to easily compact a complete plan for their goals and ease their mind. My clients have love this app, love learning and are trying out new things. They have fun with their nutrition and this app has set the bar high. Amazing app, Thank you.

How about a widget that shows current meal plans. Helps me use up what I have.😃 I’m using this as my only meal plan and budget helper and I love it. But, Please help me relink my app to the store accounts I shop at regularly. I don’t always have the time to scan the item’s in. I shop at wegmans and shop rite and can’t get them to connect. If the companies don’t want to participate then I can delete them, but I just don’t know. Would also love meal planning out two weeks if possible.

Not impressed. I was expecting more variety in recipes. I was not impressed. And the price is a bit much. $50. Yikes. I got more from the tasty app and that’s free. It’s a bit confusing. The directions are messy. The direction should be how to make the dish. The ingredients list should be a list of what’s needed make the dish. And in a separate list is should show what you have in your pantry already. The Directions are complicated and add in the number of things you have in your pantry along next to the amount needed to make the recipes. Very easy to make a mistake and put in 6 eggs and not the 2 you need for the recipe.

This app is amazing!! Trust me get it!. I really struggle to figure out what to eat because I have ADHD and meal planning for my family never happens. I always ended up wasting food but this app helps me see everything I have and shows me how it can be incorporated into meals. It saves so much time that I never seem to have enough of being a parent. The 5$ a month is more than worth it since it’s saving so much time and frustration. I also eat out less since I usually just give up on making a meal due to not knowing what to make.

Super Handy App!!. Before Cooklist, I HATED trying to figure out how to keep dinners healthy, interesting and use up the stuff I had in the pantry and fridge. This app has made it so easy to know what I have, what I have used, and planning for my family. THOUSANDS of recipes to choose from, easy delicious meals, meal prep storage suggestions and so much more. This has taken so much stress off of me. AND I can import my own recipes to save!! Find something on pinterest?? Import it into CookList!! Woot!!!

Amazingly intuitive with ease of life features galore. I’ve been looking at so many meal planning apps and this one blows away the competition with the ease of adding, basically, your own cookbook and saving meal plans and sharping carts to use again. I also has a large selection of smartly chosen recipes for you to choose from with the ability to generate suggestions based on what you have left in your pantry. Amazing! Only gripe so far is that I wish that when you click on an ingredient while shopping, you were able to see the meal(s) that ingredient will be used in along with the amount per meal. All in all though I’ll be using this app happily for a long time. Thank you designers and dev team for making this so comprehensive and customizable!

Love this app. Helps with organizing all my pantry refrigerator freezer. So easy to set up and scan. Makes recipes with what you have. Give you a grocery list. You can print as well. I use it almost everyday. To find different type foods to try. Easy easy. I’d definitely take the time to add in expiration dates so the app will tell you when things will expire. It also says hey you bought this thing 2 weeks ago. Is it still good, is it gone, so you need to at it to the shopping list. I can not say enough about it :)))

Nice, but easy to self destruct. Was making a nice list of pantry items with customized expiration dates. Import and barcode scanning seems to work well. Started another scanning session to add to the pantry and decided to remove the clutter that was the recently added items. This way I could easily identify the new batch of new items when I had to go back and edit the expiration dates. After all, they were already filed away in the pantry categories. I clicked the remove all from recent button, and poof. All entries were removed. Everything. The pantry was bare! No undo banner appeared. I had to go back to history and manually click each button (no select all!) and restore. A lack of prompt response caused me (maybe?) to double the new list. At least there was an undo banner for that action, but the duration was far too short before I realized the duplication had occurred. There is no safety net for data storage that I could find. No cloud restores from earlier. Don’t be like me and spend days setting up your home only to have it evaporate in five seconds. Be careful!

Not simple or complete enough.. I’m looking for the perfect pantry inventory app. I haven’t found it yet. Certainly not for free anyway. This one looks promising. But didn’t appear to let me choose my own categories or assign my products to the set category I preferred. Also didn’t seem to let me scan two of the same product or increase the quantity of the first one scanned. Also tried the recipe finder and it never stopped spinning. It’s kind of a busy presentation as well. I don’t really need a lot of shopping hints so didn’t live all the extra ads and suggestions if similar items. I just want a straightforward, easy to use, unlimited capacity app!

I’d give it 8/10 stars if I could. Note to new users: Use the tutorial feature first. It can be a little confusing at first. This has cut down my menu planning time to about half an hour! I also love that it saves paper I’d use to handwrite things out. This is SO much easier and faster. I love the breakdown of cost per store. I also love the swap button. If the product the app auto-generates isn’t what you want it is a simple swap away. Then being able to add any other grocery needs from the app is also a time saver. My only beef is that you can’t search recipes by cooking method. I need slow cooker options for those days we’re home later and it is convenient to use the slow cooker. Which is why I’d give it an 8/10. Get this app!

Keeps crashing but quickly fixed. I love the app, but it keeps crashing on me today. I deleted it from my phone and lost all recipes. Every time I open it, it crashes. So much for finding my recipes for dinner tonight :( UPDATE: I got all my recipes back. Customer support (Anna) from their website quickly responded to my report in several emails. I didn’t know I had to use the email I signed up with so the loss of my recipes was my fault. I haven’t been using the pantry update feature but I do love that I can import recipes using the pro version.
