Love it more than I thought I would!. I didn’t plan on purchasing a subscription when I first downloaded this because I haven’t been doing too well financially. However, I heard great things about this app and have been wanting to read the Bible but have very little time to actually sit down and read it (especially the way I want to) so I thought I’d give this a try with the intention of canceling after a week. As soon as I started in the book of Genesis, I loved it and decided this app would be a necessity to my lifestyle and a tool for my spiritual growth. So I couldn’t bring myself to cancel. I think this is well-worth the investment, especially if you’re like me and trying to get the word in whenever you can and as much as you can 💪🏼. I also highly suggest this for anyone who’s new to the Bible (I’m new) because of how simply and beautifully structured this app is. I can tell a lot of thought has been put into this app to spread the word of just how great our God is. 💛 I’ve tried other bible reading apps (free ones) but none of them stuck with me like this one does. I really love this app and will use this as a daily staple. Thanks, Dwell.

How it was heard long ago. I was thinking, dwelling, you might say, on this app and I realized that back in the day this is how people digested the word it was read to them and the people listened. Many things were passed down orally including scripture. And I must say, it’s a different experience listening to it. Gives it a certain life that is hard to achieve by reading. Nothing beats personal study and reflection but it also is a blessing to be at work, not being able to read the word but being able to listen to it. The ambient music is really nice to in just setting a tone to it. Gregory is my go to narrator. Anyway this app has been a blessing especially going through the Old Testament. It made a book like Leviticus, which most people agree is a hard book to read, it gave it new life to me and I appreciated its deeper meanings and I began to realize the theology in it which New Testament writers like Paul drew from. Thank you for this app.

The Best!. Dwell is my favorite app for listening to Scripture. I am still learning about it and there are features that are not quite as easy to find each time I open the app but it remains my favorite for several reasons: 1. Preferences - ability to choose a translation, a voice, and background music or sound, 2. The reader does not stop with one chapter (at least in the Psalms) but continues to the next in sequence. This has been such a helpful tool for falling asleep peacefully. 3. Anglican daily readings, 4. Reading/study plans - while I haven’t explored these yet, I appreciate the variety of options. I’ve tried other apps and some did not have options for voices (especially diverse voices from around the world) while others were just too overwhelming with flashy home pages full of such a variety, it was more difficult to navigate. This app has helped me through a very traumatic experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an app that helps you grow as a believer but especially those who have experienced trauma or loss and need help to remain grounded. Dwell is simple, yet offers tremendous comfort and healing. The cost is reasonable and a free trial is offered.

Yes! Perfection!. I’ve never reviewed an app before, but Dwell is so gorgeous and life-enhancing I want everyone to know about it. I own several scripture apps, but Dwell is in a league of its own. Finally instead of robo-narration I can listen to nuanced, thoughtful narration of the Bible (ESV translation of all the New Testament and several books of the Old). You can even toggle between narrators (my fave, Felix, is African). There’s peaceful background music to the reading that really enhances it, and clever volume controls so you can decided your own balance of voice and music. (I turned the narration down and just played the music to put my toddler to bed tonight. It’s so peaceful.) And on the aesthetic side, this is just a stunningly beautiful app. Plus although I like listening chronologically I appreciate how many categories of smaller listening packages there are (Messianic Psalms, for example, or specific doctrinal themes). I could keep going and going! I’m just so delighted with having found Dwell. I’ve already told my whole family about it. Honestly it’s the rare app you could gift someone and they’d be thrilled. Really deserves 6 stars out of 5. In future updates, I’d love to see another translation included, and another female voice. (Currently 1 of 4). An easier way to listen to just the music would be helpful as well.

Amazing for those who finding reading challenging. While I am fully capable of reading, I much prefer popping onto audible to listen to a book than to have one in hand. Similarly, this app has made the Bible’s words come to life in a new way and eliminates the distraction that often comes from having to personally read the Bible in my hands. Sometimes when I’m tired, I can listen to familiar passages instead of having to have a light on and make sure I’m alert enough to read it myself. I also enjoy keeping it on during outdoor walks or when I’m prepping dinner—and most especially when I’m worried or anxious. If you enjoy audible, then this app is your new best friend for knowing God in a more accessible and nourishing way. Highly recommend this app for adhd and dyslexic children as well. Late readers shouldn’t have to miss out on all God has spoken for them—and this app demonstrates this truth with such beauty and engagement. A real gift that our past generation couldn’t have fathomed.

Wonderful tool for discipleship. There are so many positive things I could say about Dwell but a top three would be the following: First, Dwell is an app that has something to offer everyone. Whether you are just beginning a rhythm of regular Bible reading or are a lifelong Christian who desires a new, beautiful and accessible way to engage scripture, Dwell’s myriad reading plans, translations, devotional series, and interactive features (e.g., memorization mode, playback speed, read along, etc.) allow one to tailor the app to their individual needs. Second, Dwell is always evolving to become a better, fuller Bible reading experience. The recent update which implemented the “read along” feature changed the game. I used to need to grab my Bible, make sure it was the right translation, and then follow along that way. But now, I can listen and read along all in the app. I trust that the Dwell team will only keep revising and improving the app experience. Third, and most importantly, it is so evident that the Dwell team’s motivation for creating this app is that they love the Lord and, by way of this app, they want to enable and foster a love of Bible reading in others. The result is a wonderful tool of discipleship that is always improving and accessible to all people regardless of where they are in their journey of faith. I love this app so much, I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Spellbinding!. I am exceedingly grateful to have heard about Dwell via a Facebook advertisement many months ago. This project is one grand step towards restoring the original medium of Scripture: spoken. This can certainly be used with earbuds for individual devotion (I have taken advantage of that), but imagine streaming this through a Bluetooth speaker for your house church, missional community, etc.! The possibilities for edification are endless. That is what I’ll end with: possibility. The gift(s) of each individual involved in this project are an eternal investment in the Body of Christ and I pray that return on investment will be restoring the oneness of believers, whether through a shared pair of earbuds or at a dining room table with a Bluetooth speaker. Thank you, Dwell Team! I look forward to the Spirit accomplishing much greater things than even these!

Great concept, clumsy queue functionality. I am having issues with my queue. Many times I long press a passage to add it to my queue, but when I actually open the queue it isn’t there. But then when I open the listening options while a passage is playing, under the options for repeat it will allow me to repeat my queue, which lists that I have multiple songs in my queue, say 5 or 6. But they aren’t there when I pull up my queue immediately after. If I select it to repeat the queue, sometimes it will in fact start playing songs I know I added to my queue, but again, when I pull up the queue they are invisible. This limits my most basic listening functionality. In the mornings I just want to load up a few select chapters to my queue to listen on the go, but I don’t know if they added or not, and even if they did I can’t arrange the order or manage them because when I pull up my queue they are invisible.

Anguished Audio. I want to like this app. I really do. But the way in which the readings are done is very distracting. The phrasing is often unnatural and stilted, with constant pauses and inflections that interrupt the smooth flow and can make it hard to listen to without constantly thinking that something is not quite right at best and annoying at worst. Some speakers are better or worse than others, but if you’re looking to listen to a particular version of the Bible, as well as a particular version/accent of English, then you may be stuck with disappointing audio. And, I think this effect is even more noticeable if you’re trying to follow along with the written text as you listen. Then you not only hear how disjointed the phrasing and flow are, but seeing the flow of the text through punctuation really highlights the audio deficiencies. Also, in listening to Matthew in the ESV, read by Mark, I noticed a few occasions where words from the text were omitted (not critical words, but missing nonetheless) and where the way in which a word was stressed actually changed the meaning of the word, making it function as a different part of speech than what was intended. THERE SHOULD BE EDITING PROCESSES IN PLACE SUCH THAT THERE SHOULD BE NO MISSING WORDS FROM THE TEXT WHATSOEVER. THIS IS CRUCIAL. This can’t be a reliable tool if there are errors in it.

Innovative, Quality App. The Narrators are very good, they don’t over-do the reading, and they are smooth, consistent, and clear. The Dwell mode (repeating a chapter, book, or playlist) is probably my favorite feature as it allows you to really focus on a particular portion of Scripture for study, contemplation, or memorization. The pre-set playlists also set this app apart, as there are selections with messianic Psalms, or with only Psalms written by David, or with a compilation of Jesus’ parables. I don’t know if any other apps that offer these features, or that execute it so well. I also enjoy the yearly reading plan options with the choice of going straight through the Bible (Genesis through Revelation), or a mixture of Old and New Testament readings, and also the option of doing a seven day a week or a five day a week plan. All in all, I rate this app five stars. One suggestion that I have is that the developers made a reader option with all of the readers together almost like a dramatized version, but just switch to the female voice when a woman is speaking and switching between the male narrators during conversion. This would require no extra recording, only re-editing and re-arranging when certain voices are heard. This feature in other apps helps me to follow historical stories more easily and it holds my attention better than the traditional single-reader style.

Not getting better. I’ve reviewed this in the past and what started out as a good product is unfortunately trending in a bad direction. 1. If you have a plan, it’s getting harder to find where your plan overview is. Your homepage is filled with “Dwell Daily” with a really weird “I am” affirmation style meditation vibe. Honestly - if you want to view your listening plans you need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Yes, they do include the day in the “up next” but if you want to pick something different or listen to multiple plans at a time it’s just very frustrating. Please, please, PLEASE let us customize what we want to see and not see on our home page. I understand you want to push the devotions or whatever but I really loved this app because it was high quality simple scripture. Don’t over complicate it. If you must include devotions, YouVersion at least lets people upload/pick what you listen to. I’m not asking you to stop the devotions, but at least give people the option to remove them from the home page. If you can track the data of the users that remove the function, at least you know you aren’t hurting your subscriber base and can move on to more profitable things. If I’m wrong, the function would at least appease the small minority. Really nothing to be gained from forcing it though. Please, at least consider it!

Love the Dwell Mode + Suggestions!. Overall I've tried this application for a few weeks now and love it. The varied voices and background music selections, as well as ability to customize the relative volume of each is helpful. Since I prefer ESV, I like that I can limit the set of random voices to be those that read this translation. I haven't gotten to explore the curated playlists yet but am excited to do so. I have been using the Dwell mode extensively to memorize Scripture. My feedback for this would be that I'd love the opportunity to pick my own passages of Scripture to replay on Dwell mode. It seems to me that I can only pick from tracks already created, which are often either the entire chapter (such as 2 Corinthians 4) or a section that doesn't necessarily capture a full thought/sentence (such as 2 Corinth 4:18 only). I'd love to see this ability in a future update!

Dwell is the app I never knew I needed!. I read my Bible daily, but this app. I’ve LOVED being able to listed to my bible aloud. There are people in the Bible whose stories I’ve never much thought about, but hearing their stories read aloud has brought me to tears. Hearing the Bible was the only way the Hebrews and early Christian Church were exposed to the Bible. This app brings a little bit of that back to us and allows us to listen as they would have. This app has four voices to choose from. The graphics are beautiful. They have plans and playlists if you don’t know where to start. They have made long listen stories and passages like “Abraham’s Story” “psalm 119” and others you can choose to listen to if you find a block of time and can listen. They also have short listen passages for the time crunch. And if you like listening from start to finish, they have a library with every book of the New Testament and they are actively working on finishing up the Old Testament (currently there are 7 books: genesis, exodus, 1,2 Samuel, psalms, proverbs and Ecclesiastes). This app is so well done and I am thrilled with how it’s turned out!

An Incredible Resource for Studying the Word. In our culture, it is so hard to find time to sit with your Bible open and study the Word of God. This app allows you to listen to the Word while you’re on the go - in the car, while you clean, while you get ready for bed. I highly recommend using this app because it has filled my life with truth!! As Deuteronomy 6:6-9 says, “ And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” This app makes it possible to ‘dwell’ ;) on God’s words continually!!!

You’re not paying for the Bible, but a well designed app. I’m so annoyed with all the people complaining about this is not 100% free because “Gods word should be free”. You can access the Bible for free and so many different places. To expect developers, voice actors, musicians to work for free is absolutely ridiculous and insulting. None of you are asking for free Chick-fil-A 😒 This is a beautifully designed app and has so many great pieces of content with it. It’s a apparent from anyone who uses regularly that a lot of time, effort, and consideration went into how this app was designed. I use it every single day and it’s truly incredible. They run discounts often, so if you really are looking for something, long-term, there are ways to make it affordable. If you cannot afford it luckily there’s so many other free alternatives that you can look into. However, if you want to support the developers creators and contact creators, this is a great way to do it.

Game Changer. This is hands down the best way to get into the Word consistently. It’s been a game changer in my relationship with the Lord. I’ve never “read” more Scripture in my life. The voices are casual and not at all robotic. It feels like a friend is reading to you, especially with the recent addition of the Message which I never thought I would love this much. The music is calming and peaceful. I love all the options for reading plans and that it holds my place and shows what I’ve completed. The five day plan is my fave and has Scripture from the OT, a psalm, and the NT. I love the variety and how the passages intentionally go together and you get the see the full narrative of Scripture each day! The curated playlists are great too, and it seems like they’ve thought of everything! Love love love and highly recommend. I don’t know how I ever lived without it!

Why did I wait so long?. Wow. Just amazing. I kept putting off this app because I didn’t want to create an account just to try it. Then I saw the pricing and I was really put off by how much it would cost. I hate subscriptions and the lifetime subscription just seemed overly pricey. However, after using it for the past week I can tell you it is entirely worth it. I’ve been looking for a fresh new way to experience God’s word. I can certainly appreciate reading my Bible because it is God’s word. However, in today’s world it is really great to receive gods word in other formats, particularly when driving or while doing other tasks. The entire app is beautiful from the design to the listening experience. Being able to choose the readers voice is also really incredible. They sound so natural and inviting. Between that and being able to customize background music or sounds, including volume, the experience is just mesmerizing. Thank you so much for making such a well thought app that keeps God’s Word at the center. I don’t get all the other junk that apps like youversion put in. Just God’s Word and various Bible plans that read through selected sections of scripture.

Almost perfect…. I have really loved the ability to jump into the word and listen as I drive or meditate on the word. I think that hands down this app is the easiest way to listen to the Bible. I have a suggestion on how it could be improved. I would like to be able to set a version of a “reading plan” and not have that change with other version settings I might adjust quickly. In other words if I set my listening plan to NLT, but then want to meditate/memorize and adjust my settings to repeat and ESV, I would like my listening plan to stay in NLT and not repeat. Another idea would be to have an auto playlist once a reading is finished, for example if I listen to a reading plan at the end it could start playing another portion of scripture. This would be very helpful while driving and unable to change settings. Please keep up the amazing work!

Easy to Navigate, Good Narration. Dwell has a number of different ways to listen and dig in to Scripture. The app offers plans for getting through portions of scripture (classic Bible-in-a-year sort of thing), playlists oriented around themes or topics, and other groupings. I like that you can put things in the queue so that i can play through sections I choose from different books. As an Anglican I am very appreciative of the Daily Office readings. Where other apps are clunky, Dwell is simple, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to navigate. The narrators are excellent, each one offers something different. For instance, my daughter and I find Rosie to be very soothing, so we utilise her voice for psalm readings. On the other hand, I live in New Zealand and listening to Felix is a great reminder of the global church. Each voice is clear and genuine. I’m very pleased with this app! Great purchase. I would highly recommend.

I like it a lot. I used to use you version bible app, I stopped because it became more about socializing then reading Gods word. I use currently bible gateway and its ok. I really like Dwell a lot. I can listen and not get bored or distracted while listening. The readers voice grabs my attention along with the music. I do read my physical bible in the morning, now reading has risen to a whole new level with listening and reading along at the same time. I will highly recommend this app, as it is better than other apps I have tried that are not mentioned here. I also love that I can set the background music to random or a specific sound or instruments. This is a wonderful app! Thank you Josh and Jon for developing this app. Gods hand was and is definitely in and on this app. May God continue to bless both of you and everyone who helped with this app.

Thankful for Dwell!. Hello! I am on day 2 into listening to Dwell and wanted to share with you what an incredible blessing it has been! First of all, I am the owner of a podcast called Oh Hey Truth, to equip women to know the Word and know how to know it so that they can live it out in their lives! It’s target is 18-28 year olds. We heard about Dwell from several listeners and I finally decided to try it. IT IS AMAZING! Seriously. There was a need and y’all met it. I’m so grateful to have it and now to share it with our listeners. My second reason is that I have a very painful and all consuming disability that leaves me bed-ridden a lot. I listen to a lot of worship music and try other bible reading apps, but with the pain it was like fingernails on a chalkboard, you know. I really struggled the last 24 hours to get the pain under control with even the strongest of meds. Now, Dwell did not take my pain away BUT it was easy for me to listen to and was so soothing. The music and Rosie’s voice calmed my mind and my spirit. I am so grateful. I may sound like a quack, but I am not. I am just so so grateful that the Lord met me through your app. THANK YOU!

Super Great App! 😃. Have had the Dwell app for a few months now and have been enjoying it immensely! I tried out the various options with the music and voices and found that I enjoy them all, but especially enjoy the default settings. I appreciate how they have it easily set up the have a Bible portion of the day, rather than just a verse and have it set so I can have a reminder each morning where I can just swipe and go straight there first thing when I wake up. 😊 I also like how they have various study sections, reading plans, and even short portions set aside that you can listen to if you don’t have a lot of time. The only thing I would add to the app if I could is having the Word present in a written form as well when you’re listening to it, so you could follow along if you desired to. I figure this would probably slow down the app a bit, and is probably why they had chosen not to do so. I resolve it by having an additional Bible app that I can easily go to, since I can listen to Dwell and be in whatever other app I desire at the same time- which is super nice. 😊

I could cry… in all my life.. there’s not any app like this!. I have passionately pursued my faith in Christ for 20+ years & have several Bible degrees. I have hungered for know the Word of God and to “let it dwell richly in me.” (Colossians 3:16) One of my greatest struggles has been to consistently read the Word and stick to the plan.. reading can feel hard like a chore & then life gets busy and the plan doesn’t get finished.. this audio Bible /dwell app is a MUST for the busy individual! I feel *deeply accomplished* getting through the Word as I listen and do life. There’s a timer on this so you can fall asleep to the Word of God and have it end at a particular time. You can put music or other calming audio sounds behind the Word being spoken and even find different readers with different accents. LOL! (I like the British & African readers the best :) I really like the feature that I can read the Word while they audibly speak it out.. it keeps my add brain focused and on track. The Word of God is our Sword in the Spirit.. and this above everything else in life is a worthy investment. Five stars. Definitely get the dwell app!! :)

Edited: Amazing App but Why No Apple Watch support. The app really is great. There’s so many thoughtful and innovative things in it. For example, reflective time after passage before it repeats or moves on. Or simply repeat. But why in the world is there no CarPlay or Apple watch support? If there was ever an app on the App Store that should have CarPlay support as a no brainer it is this one. Same for Apple watch. I cycle and would love to listen to dwell using my apple watch while I ride but i have to use another Bible app that does have watch support. (I don’t use my phone on my bike because the watch does everything the phone does that I need while riding.) Edit: they added CarPlay support, which is great. While it should’ve had it from day one, it’s awesome that it’s there now. So thank you. My next request is watch support. For the reasons stated above.

My Favorite Bible App. This app has helped me to be consistent with my Bible ready plans and to engage with God’s word in a fresh way. I appreciate the variety of voices and the ability the app gives you to meditate on God’s word. I have used this to refocus during many a stressful day! To that end, I would love to see an option to customize the Dwell function in real-time. Currently, once the meditation time starts, you can’t change the duration. I would love a feature that allows me to extend the meditation time indefinitely, or maybe even include a secondary pause button that pauses the Scripture but keeps the music on so that I can have time to journal or pray if the Spirit leads in the moment. To the developers - thank you for this app! Those who meditate on God’s word are like strong and fruitful trees planted by a stream of water. You are helping believers to live this out! I am grateful to God for you.

UPDATE: company responded and everything is working as it should!. I had dwell for few years now. I paid the annual subscription each year. They are charging more now than what I started paying, and the recent update has restricted me from having all the possible options to now a limited few. I have grown to really enjoy listening to scripture to one of the voice options; which are now longer available to me. There was no warning or indication on the new update that this would happen. I spent so much time wondering what happened to all my options; then I’ve emailed customer support but no reply.. 4 business days. I guess this company doesn’t believe in granting loyal customers to be grandfathered in to the rate they started with. I’m now considering trying other Bible apps and delete dwell. How sad. UPDATE: Thank you for the reply! Everything is working as it should, and I’m happy about the results.

The Definitive Bible Listening App. Beautiful. Elegant. Intuitive. Innovative. Original. Dwell is the only app entirely devoted to a pure listening experience of the Bible. While other Bible apps have an audio Bible as an option to listen to while reading, this app is designed solely for listening. So much so that the look and feel is that of a music app. Complete with playlists, devotions, repeat/replay functions, etc. The only downside to this app are the occasional bugs, which can vary in degree. But that’s the cost of building an original app from the ground up. Thankfully, the Dwell team are constantly at work squashing those pesty bugs and looking for ways to creatively innovate and streamline the app. They are are more then welcoming of user feedback, which is invaluable. So proud of the tremendous work that’s gone and is going into this app. “Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16). “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17).

My daily commute. I purchased the Dwell app a year ago and it’s some of the best money I ever spent. I am self-employed, work really demanding hours, and I spend A LOT of time driving. As much as I would love to be home in a comfortable chair, sipping coffee and spending lots of pen and paper time with my Bible, that is just not realistic for my daily life. Dwell has made it possible for me to still get excellent Bible and reflection time while I am driving. I turn on the daily devotional first thing when I start my car every morning, then I listen to the scripture that goes with it and then I listen to that day’s Bible reading plan. This app is easy to navigate and easy to customize. You can choose a narrator, accent and translation that is easiest for you to understand. It has enriched my daily connection with the Lord more than I can ever explain.

This app will bring tears to your eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever written a review on anything before, but I felt compelled to after listening to the Psalm & Proverbs plan on this app this morning. I was so looking forward to this app bc I have recently made a commitment to read God’s Word daily. I have listened to a few audio Bible versions, but was really unhappy with the monotone voices that tend to sound insincere. The only word I know to describe this app is just “beautiful.” The voices sound so sincere and that is a BIG deal to me and the music is beautiful as well. I like how you can search for the books/scriptures you would like to listen to, or how they are categorized for you for easy access such as The Sermon On the Mount, the Woman at the Well, etc. Thank you and may God bless you guys for creating this app.

helped me to sleep again! Matthew 11:28 Romans 8:18-19. I heard about this app from a friend, usually I’m the kind of person who reads the Bible whether that be on the app or pick up a Bible I have in my room, and I really have to say this app has already helped me in so many areas of my life and it’s only been a few days of having it on my phone. I used to be heartbroken that I no longer had a partner that I could sleep with on the phone or talk to at night, as silly as that sounds, I wouldn’t even be able to sleep from how lonely I was but this app has made it to where I now sleep early and on time I look forward to only putting on my Dwell app and falling asleep to the peaceful night plan! I’ll even wake up with it still playing and it really changes the atmosphere of every single day. I’m so blessed and grateful that the Lord showed me this app and spoke to me this way! I would like to see however more books of the Old Testament and more translations that I can listen to. Thank you guys❤️ Matthew 11:28 Romans 8:27-29 Romans 8:18-19

Don’t be a poor steward of God’s money. I was so excited when I first saw this app. It was the only one that pulled up when I did a search for audible Bibles. I have a dear friend who is legally blind, and can no longer read scripture. I was also interested in finding something that would allow me to hear the Scriptures as I work with my crafts or cook. We are both on disability and paying $40 a year for this subscription is beyond our means. It is sad that the Bible can be purchased so cheaply or given free in book form, but for those who really need something like this, it is unattainable financially through Dwell. There are other audible Bible apps that are completely free, as it should be. So many need an app like this and for Dwell to charge, I think is abominable. I don’t think Christ is very pleased of a company to make money off of selling something that is so desperately needed, like for my blind friend. Why pay for something that others offer freely and with the right motives?

A must-have for every blind person. As a blind person, I've always looked for a good audio Bible. Several apps have audio, as a kind of nod to hearing the word, but even though they have several versions, the voice is rarely that good, there's no music, and accessibility of the app with VoiceOver, especially when using footnotes, is liable to change drasticly from version to version. This app is perfect in almost every way, except for reasons of time, like more books of the Bible, other translations, especially the CSB, please, and commentaries. I'd like just one other thing from the app, and that is footnotes. Whenever they are in a Bible, it makes understanding a lot easier. They can be spoken by the currently selected voice, and a toggle in settings can turn them on or off by default, and a toggle in the player can turn them on and off for the current queue. Also, I hope that a version like the Complete Jewish Version is recorded, so that I can know the actual pronounciation of the Hebrew and Greek names, along with the other advantages of having a Messianic Jewish Bible.

App freeze sometimes. I am in love with this bible app! It is probably one of the best audiobook bible I came across. I love the different voices you can choose from of whom reads to you. I love how clear the voices are. I had some audiobooks in the past where the voices sounded horrible, where you could Barley understand what was being said. I love the different types of beautiful music in the background and how you can also choose no music at all. I love how you can read along with the voice reader as well. The volume on the app is nice a loud. I listen when I’m doing laundry, dishes , cleaning house, etc. The app is very well detailed. What I am sad about is that it freezes up at times. That is the only problem I have with this. But besides that, I still have the app. I still listen to the app. It’s a beautiful app.

Best Out There. I shopped around for an ESV audio Bible app for quite sometime. This one was definitely worth the annual subscription because I wanted to support further content and features in the future. The app is extremely user friendly. I love that you can choose the speed of the reader and play background noise at whatever volume suits you. I’m currently listening straight through books of the Old Testament but am excited to see many of their own plans of various lengths - “through this book in 7 days” or “through that book in 30 days” - as well as topical studies. The background music is beautifully written and helps catch my ear which helps me focus. Another great thing is that the books are “tracked” by verse. Meaning when you skip ahead or need to go back, it does so one verse at a time. I love that it’s not by 10 or 15 seconds like other audio apps. Well done! Well worth the subscription! Keep up the great work!

Audio Bible?. I absolutely love this app! I am a paid subscriber and I love the different voices and background music. There is no audio Bible like this! HOWEVER, is is not a listen through audio Bible. While the plans they have set up are helpful and you can select an entire chapter to listen to. It is very hard to keep track if you want to listen through the whole Bible. While they do have the listen through in a year listening plan, it’s just not enough for me. I work alone and I enjoy listening to hours of the Bible. I like to get lost in the reader voice while listening but to pull out my phone every few minutes, refresh the app, and then reselect the next chapter is very annoying. I like to be able to hit play once and that’s it. I believe there should be a option for auto play or continues play... besides that it’s the best listen app out!

BCP 2019 “Daily Office” Reading Plan Needs Some Tweaks. Hi Dwell Team, I just submitted a review a few minutes ago about the “2019 Daily Office” reading plan, but neglected to include my 5th point in my previous review, so I’m including it separately here— 5) It would be EXTREMELY HELPFUL if, instead of calling the days “Day 1,” “Day 2,” “Day 3,” if the reading plan instead named the days “January 1,” or perhaps “Day 1 / January 1st.” Unlike other Bible reading plans that are completed privately, the whole point of the Daily Office is to be reading the same readings that everyone else in the Anglican community is reading on that date, which means you have to be reading the passages for that exact date, even if you are “behind” on the readings. I’m going through the Daily Office readings with a group of other women from my church, so it is very important that I know what readings to complete for a given date in the month! With the current system of numbering “Day 1,” “Day 2,” “Day 3,” it is a huge logistical headache to figure out which reading I’m supposed to be listening to on a given day. If you make no other changes to the 2019 “Daily Office” reading plan, this change alone would be a GAME CHANGER in making this reading plan more user-friendly for Anglican listeners. Thanks for your help! - Joy

A grateful listener. It has been a rough go the last 14 years with ongoing health issues of loved ones, job changes for my hubby, the death of both my parents and taking responsibility for my teen siblings. After seeking other options for being able to have the Bible being read to me as I go thru my days, it was falling short of great. I tried this app knowing that it costs money but so needing my heart spoken to often throughout the day and night. If your on the fence for whatever reason, this app is worth it! Personally by next year I will be getting the lifetime option and having gifted a year of it to my dearest loved ones. God has given us a gift through all those involved in this service. May the growing family coming together on this app be Blessed beyond measure of all our understanding! Heather Corcoran

Narration matters. The Bible is the greatest book because it isn’t just a book but it is a living word. I must say I’ve tried many different audio bibles and so when my friend recommended this one to me I didn’t expect much of a difference. Boy was I surprised. The dwell app has many quality narrators to choose from for all of the Bible and the different translations. My favorite so far is Kylie for the NIV. Her voice is soft and relaxing and easy to listen to. There is also a background music option which I think is very cool but honestly the narrators are what sold me. Many Bible apps have narrators that are hard to listen to for any long period of time. Dwell takes that problem away and has options for every taste you could desire. I don’t usually write reviews but I do read them and so I wanted to be specific about the value I got from this app. All the best!!

Best Customer Service. I just downloaded the app this week and have not yet used it enough to give a rating on the app itself. However, I submitted a question concerning family sharing and received one of the best customer service responses I have ever received in my entire life and I am a senior citizen, so that is saying a lot! The response was within hours, not days. It thoroughly, clearly and politely answered my question. Even though the answer I received wasn’t exactly what I had hoped, I was provided with an alternative that is entirely satisfactory. The experience was so positive that I went ahead and purchased a lifetime subscription, even before putting the app through a test period. With the attitude the response displayed, I am happy to support this app through its growth period because I believe it will flourish in spreading the Word and changing lives.

This app.. I’m speechless!. I love this app because it is beautifully designed. There are four different voices to choose from and the music in the background makes it so peaceful! I love it! It’s so easy to listen to! However, I do have to say that I was disappointed that there were only eight of the Old Testament books on the app. Books like Deuteronomy and Numbers are usually the hardest for me to read because of all the names and I love going through the Bible each year. Plus, I’m paying for the app, so it’s certainly a disappointment. Another thing that I don’t like is that you can’t change the version of the Bible (it’s in ESV). I prefer CSB over ESV. If you are KJV only, then this app isn’t for you. Plus, it’d be a lot of work to record several different versions, so I understand why it’s in ESV. This app is beautifully designed as I mentioned before. The version isn’t a make or break feature. All of the Old Testament books aren’t on here currently (if there are, I can’t find them) but there is still so much to listen to! Overall, this app is definitely worth the space on your phone!

A different perspective. Here’s a perspective from what may be an unlikely source. I’m not a believer, and yet I love this app. I’ve never lost the habit of Bible reading I grew up with, AND I love audiobooks, AND I love comparing translations. This app puts them together in a unique and graceful way. One of the things I especially like is the ability to set up random playback: have it switch between different translations and voices from one chapter to the next, plus you get to pick which translations and voices to include in the mix. Another unique feature is the ability to control the type and volume of background music (or to choose none) independently of the voices. All in all, a lovely design and very usable. I hope additional translations are included in the future, but I can’t think of much else I would change.

Perfect for moms!. I treasure God’s Word. I love it. It is my heart’s delight and my heart’s cry. But I am a busy homeschooling mom of 6. I rise early to spend time reading and studying. But throughout the day wasn’t making time to come back to the word. This app is perfect, whether I have one minute or ten. When I am doing dishes, tidying up, preparing lessons I can turn this on and it is immediately the best thing my kids and I could ever be filling our ears and hearts with. I would love for there to be a feature that an alarm could be set so that it would begin playing automatically. More than just the available reminders, but actually just have my morning alarm start playing the word. And have an alarm signaling time to get ready for lunch start playing the word. Thank you for the care you took to making the app so useful, organized well, and aesthetically beautiful. What a gift this app is. What redemption of technology. ❤️ this is the app I want to be addicted to.

Best Audio Bible App to date. Super excited about this app. I have been playing with it all day now and it’s super easy to use and very friendly to the ears. The immersive experience which includes narration with subtle music in the background makes this a very relaxing and spiritual experience all around. Being able to change the voice and type of background music is well thought out. I would highly recommend downloading the free version and play with it for yourself. Didn’t take long for me to realize I needed this for my quiet time and I bout the unlimited version which opened everything up. Looks like there are also many listening plans for in-depth studies so looking forward to that as well. Thanks to the developers for this well laid out experience I will be using this for some time to come.

Audio Bible great, functionality not great. I love the actual content of the audio Bible - great variety of voices and versions and the ability to customize speed, background music, etc is great. I paid for the annual subscription and because of that didn’t expect to face the functionality bumps I’ve had… to download scripture to listen offline (driving is one of the main reasons I purchased this subscription), you have to do it chapter by chapter. That means I’m hitting the download button 16 times to download the book of Mark. I attempted to create a playlist and then download that as a faster option but going back to the app today I see “UserPlaylist5754…” not the title I created and cannot click on the downloaded playlist. Perhaps I’m expecting the app to do something they don’t promote it being able to do… Hope this can be smoothed out in the future!

Great Idea, but a few challenges. Really like the app! Really enjoy the voices that read the scripture! Challenges: Adding scripture to a playlist is a bit clunky. -It would be helpful to have a function where if you are listening through a passage you can select a verse or more and add it to a playlist. For example: The YouVersion bible app has an underline function where you tap the verse or verses and can save/highlight/bookmark. Utilizing this type of functionality to be able to save and add verses to playlists would take this app to a whole new level! -also when searching for a verse, after you type in a reference into the search bar, if you tap on the search bar it automatically clears out the whatever was typed there’s …it would be helpful to have the option to add-on or edit what was typed…maybe have the “x” icon (used commonly) on the right end of the page search bar as an option to clear

Quality. I used the free trial and forgot to cancel it; this was the best money spent for a year’s worth of a quality audio Bible app. Our family budget is tight but this app is worth it so here I am with year two, enjoying it! Other free Bible apps offer audio options for listening but it’s not nearly the same. The background sound along with the voice and Bible version are all customizable which I am grateful for; it makes it so much easier to listen to. The playlists are spot on! Cleaning, cooking, driving, working, etc are just a few options as well as playlists based on feelings of anger, shame, stressed, etc. it’s thorough! Instead of me writing a novel about how much I enjoy this app you should get the free trial. Better yet, accidentally forget to cancel it and pay the money to hear Gods Word spoken over you because faith comes by hearing. And this app makes faith worth hearing. Thanks Dwell for helping me to abide in the Vine.

Renew my mind. Thank God for this app. For years I’ve struggled to read the word every day, I know it has a lot to do with my possible ADHD as well as my learning style. Because this app has several options for various narrated voices + music it keeps me engaged and creates a strong emotional connection with the living word. I feel Gods presence work through me as I’ve listened to Dwell this last year going through a very painful life circumstance. God is renewing my mind, when I feel the lies of the enemy and I can’t reach for my bible, I listen to this app through the day and use Gods authority to squash out the lies. Now, through this uncertain time and as a nurse on a COVID unit this app has truly brought the peace from God that is VERY much needed as mentally I need God more than ever. The enemy cannot work on you if you flood your mind and heart with the truth of the word and this app is an addition to armor of God. Amen.

What an incredible app!!!. This is a truly amazing app! I have always struggled with getting into the word daily and this app transformed my life! Through this app I have been given a love for the word of God! I always enjoyed listening to God’s word but I always found the voices to be robotic and male. Having a female voice is so comforting because it sounds more like my own thoughts. I also just listened to the Jesus’s parables playlist and it was lovely to hear and meditate and Jesus’s words. Thank you so much for this wonderful app! One suggestion that I would have is when you are listening to a plan or a playlist that is reading from multiple places in Scripture having a pause between those different passages or maybe reading the reference before hand. I have found that it is difficult to decipher when one passage ends and the next begins. Also I would love if it was possible to download audio. It would be awesome if I could listen to it on the plane. Also the premium version was quite pricey but a price I am more then willing to pay. Again thank you so much for this app!

Absolutely Excellent. How fortunate we are to be living in a time where we have an app that is so well done as to give us soothing voices to listen to the Bible. This app has every type of a plan you can think of. You can go through the Bible all the way from the beginning to the end, or you can do a chronological order, or a historical order, etc. You can choose how many days you want to read (listen to) so if you want to go faster than a year, you can just double up on what you listen to, and it will shorten the time. The voices are so professional. The voices are soothing and there is optional background music, that is perfectly complementary for the voice that is speaking. The background music is not too loud, so the written Bible is the prominent voice. But, it’s also not too soft to where you can’t hear it at all, so the background music actually keeps me interested and focused on the Bible. Again it’s optional to have the back ground music. You can turn it on or off. Overall, this is a excellent up. I haven’t found one as good as this one. I’m considering purchasing the lifetime. Well worth it.

Please add (some of) the deuterocanonical books!. See other reviews for the many useful features of this app, and for how functional it is. So far as all that goes, I’d give it five stars. I do have one plea, though! I am a confessional Protestant Christian and do not believe that the deuterocanonical/apocryphal books are inspired, but, along with the Reformer Martin Luther, I do believe them to be “useful and good to read.” (For example, Judith tells a great and encouraging story, even if it is likely completely fictional, and verses from apocryphal wisdom literature inspired some of the phrases in the popular hymn “O Come, O Come, Emanuel.”) Furthermore, some Daily Office lectionaries (e.g., Anglican/Episcopal) feature readings from a handful of them. I don’t expect y’all to ever feature them in as wide an array of voices/translations, but seeing as the KJV for a long time included them, and there is an ESV version as well, one voice for each of those would be MUCH appreciated!

Bible app. I was really excited to hear the add for this app. But after downloading it to be hit with pay this or this but you get 7 days free. Now if I was told upfront no problem I would gladly pay. When I thought well I’ll pay lifetime membership. I certainly didn’t expect the money to be in U. S. $. Ouch because of our $ value price jumped to almost double. Please be up front with people, not to be is deceptive.

Such a blessing. Absolutely love this! As a mum it can be hard to have lots of time in the word but this makes it’s so accesible! Love that my kids get to hear it as I listen to it too 💛

Beautiful. I’m surprised how much I like the Dwell app. It has quickly become part of my daily life. From listening to stories in the car with my kids, playlists as I hang the washing and psalms in quiet moments. I love getting to listen to different voices, the music in the background isn’t intrusive and I’m surprised how much I appreciate the “topic” playlists (eg all Jesus parables) when I typically just take a book at a time. My only surprise is that there’s no timer to automatically switch off - although there very well could be this feature and I’m not observant enough!!

Absolute Wow!. I’m impressed with this app so far. I like the voices. I love the pace. I always found other narrated bibles too quick. I’m the kind of reader who isn’t in a rush as I read. I like to be at a pace to really think it over as I go. I also really like the music options, and all the various plans and arrangements to listen through. I’ve listened to audio Bibles my whole life, and this is a fresh approach to it. One thing would be neat, if I could download everything, rather than stream. I don’t have a lot of data, and I have no home internet. If I were able to download, it’d make it better. $43-ish for a year in Australia is fine with me, and I expect it will bring continued support and updates for this superb app. I will be listening to this as much as I can! Dependant on my data allowance that is. Good job Dwell App!

Really beautiful app. I very rarely buy an app but this one was worth the investment. After using the free trial I knew it was something I would want to continue to use. The voices are soothing and I love listening to a long play playlist to fall asleep to. Faith comes by hearing the Word and this app has definitely been encouraging and builds me up as I let it play and wash over me!

Awesome. Awesome. Finally a Bible that takes the time to slow down with voices that have easy tones to listen to them. I am a type of person, who can’t read to well and by listen to this format, I am Blessed beyond measure. Well done for bringing this format out guys. Thank you so much and Blessings to both of you guys.

Scripture comes to life. You’re bound to be enthralled by Dwell’s ability to present the scriptures in a range of accents accompanied by stirring music! Highly recommended!

Where is the disclaimer that this a paid app??. I was willing to try out this app, I also have a couple of similar Bible apps that are free, but always looking for something better. Once I downloaded the app I find there is very little to use without downloading a free trial to basically unlock the whole app! Not even able to read the Bible. Why have you not declared this with an in-app purchase notification? I hate these kind of manipulative ‘free’ apps offers. Might have been ok with buying a ‘full’ version, but I’m turned off by the lack of transparency.

Why so, so, SO expensive??. This is a good app for sure but it's so unbelievably glitchy, crashes or glitches every time I use it. And most of the voices are either in the archaic outdated KJV version, or grating and abrasive. You shouldn't be charging such a high price for a Bible app this limited and glitchy!!!

Great app. It’s a great app with great voices. It would be perfect though if you could read along with it like how they do lyrics on Apple Music.

Dwell fits lifestyle. I love to listen to Dwell in the early hours before rising. It helps me to keep my mind on The Lord and His ways. I also really appreciate the changes in accents used. Thank you

It is here!!!. So fabulous already tried different functions and plans!! Started a listening plan!!! This will revolutionise my bible bread intake!!! Thank you Dwell team the result is fabulous!!!

Hands down the best audio Bible!. If you’re looking for an awesome audio Bible, which also has the digital Bible fully integrated, then look no further! Dwell offers their own plans and playlists, and you can make your own playlists also. The repeat function can be for one verse, whole chapters or playlists! That feature is awesome. You can read the scripture as you listen, which is great for really taking it in, or for those ‘what?!’ moments, when you have to go back and read it again! You can access the digital Bible with a swipe of the finger, and I often use that to read all the scriptures in the audio playlists as one text. That to me is very handy for reflection! There’s no chapters/book names announced as you listen, so you can listen seamlessly through all the books. The ability to speed up, or slow down each narrators voice has been so handy! There’s a variety of background music, and you can equalize all the sound elements to suit your preference. There’s also a sleep timer, which is fabulous to get in a bit of the word before sleep. All in all, this is an amazing resource and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone who regularly uses an audio Bible or would like to. Download the app and use the free features first, and you’ll soon see that you need this app on your devices!! God bless you. :)

Great but. The app is brilliant. But I don’t understand the functions. When listening to the yearly plan and I tick that I have read it, it doesn’t keep the information. I have to tick everything I have read again and again. Is that suppose to be like that? I also miss that once I have red a section that I will be taken automatically to the next passage instead of having to find the plan anew each time. What do I do wrong?

Love this app. For a grown woman with ADHD I find it very difficult to read the WORD but with the voice reading to me as I read, it’s such a blessing💙And what makes it even better being able to choose which voice I listen to, I love the deep old male voice the most it feels like Father is speaking into my Spirt🔥

Great app, but there’s an issue specifically with the book of Psalms. I love this app! I love listening to the Bible on it! But I can’t help but notice that whenever I search for a specific psalm, I get ‘No Results’. That’s different to when I search for chapters in every other book in the Bible. Can you please look into this issue?

Dwell Bible App. I love this bible App, so easy to use and the variety of voices is refreshing. I would highly recommend it.

Gorgeous in every way.. Wonderful narrators, beautiful design, thoughtful playlists, nice music... every bit of this app is lovely - and I find I keep dipping into God’s word so much more often than I otherwise would, thanks to this app.

Great blessing. I am richer and fuller, loving God more, loving others more, hating sin more, finding peace and joy more because of God’s word. Dwell is a big help.

Listen and read together. The read along feature is great. It helps me really focus and take the word in. Love the variety of voices and the simple manner- no dramatic voices. The word is strong enough on its own without theatrics (as I have found elsewhere).

Awesome resource - definitely sign up and use it!. Such a great resource. Really enjoying the McCheyn Reading Plan.

Great alternative to reading. Great tool in the technology toolbox to soak and get more of God in you. High recommend - Take advantage of the lifetime membership options when they come up on sale.

The best!. This app is incredible. Such an easy interface. Great content and customisable options. The only thing I would say would ADD so much more is an offline mode. Travelling often I wish I would have this with me offline!

Talk to me when you have car play. I only tried one voice which annoyed me. But the main issue is I listen in the car and lack of CarPlay functionality is a deal breaker for me. Also, only 3 translations, although I could live with that.

Problems. I paid for a year for this app. The app is now locked and it is useless to me. How do I unlock it.

Fantastic Bible App. Such a wonderful way to study the Holy Bible either by listening, reading. Many Studies are available and are easy to do. Lovely and relaxing with Hod’s spirit. Affordable and easy to start up and to use asap.

Keeps closing down. Each time I click on a scripture to read, the app closes down. It’s been happening for days I have even tried to uninstall the app and install again. I may have to pursue getting a refund from apple

Excellent Audio Bible App. Audio Bible available in variety of languages, versions, & Bible readers. Good variety of options for Bible Reading/Listening Plans, and ways to grow and nurture more into Holy Scripture.

So good. I got Dwell as a gift from friends. I often listen for hours on end while working. Seriously well done!!!

Great!. This app is awesome! Couple of things, if you haven’t already you should look into the voice translation, and if you could make it compatible with iPad (a landscape mode would be ideal for iPad)

Mrs Byrne. I find this so simple and easy to listen too. It’s calming and really let’s you enjoy a quite time with the word of God.

Limited without payment. I’m not a fan of how limited the app is without the requirement to pay to unlock the majority of basic scripture but I like that you can choose the voice and variety in settings.

Awesome App!. Love this app- it has made the Bible come alive! I look forward to reading & listening to the Bible everyday! It’s such a blessing to me and those I have shared it with!

Best Bible App. Dwell is by far the best bible app I have used. I love the variety of the various playlists, plans or listening to the bible and the voices with accompanying music are exceptional. Thank you for an amazing experience!

My first experience. I have been a Christian for over 70 years and this is the first year I am able to read and listen through the whole bible Thanks to the excellent programming giving the verse numbers while reading 😁 that allows me to catch up if I loose concentration 😂 God Bless you all Ian 83 from Australia

Dwell App. I downloaded and paid for a full subscription. The app is beautiful. It is beautifully presented, easy to use and full of amazing plans to focus Bible listening. Could not recommend this more! The music, the voices, the beauty of these recordings! Thank you Dwell!!!

Great resource! Load times are long in Australia. Highly recommend this app. Would be great to see more people supporting it in Australia to get more infrastructure built for Aussie users. Currently getting a lot of load errors and standard load time is very slow for this app. The resources of this app are 2nd to none though!!

Loving the bible.. I’ve only just started using dwell and have discovered a bible plan suited to my needs. I love it it motivates me and plans it all out for me which is what I needed. Having it all planned out in steps for me to work through and giving me the time it will take each step stops me from being overwhelmed and keeps me on track to read / listen to it in a year. I know what I have to do each day which is great and the way it’s all done with the choice of voices to listen to and the option to read along while listening is great.

One App to Rule Them All. Nothing can stand with more light than the Glory of Jesus as revealed in this secret that is now made known!

Great concept! Still a bit cumbersome.. I really love this app, but I’m having trouble navigating; it took me several minutes just now to figure out why the preconfigured playlist was looping on a single verse. The “now playing” screen disappeared and I couldn’t get it back. A clearer way to make my own list of clips for memorisation or meditation would be very welcome.

Such a great resource. I love putting on the reading when I’m in the car, on my daily commute. The variety of bible readers is much appreciated

Great for Bible-listening motivation. I love Dwell. I find that it’s made me more likely to listen to the Bible before turning to a podcast or an audiobook, which gets more Bible in my day.

BRILLIANT. I am so amazed at the brilliance of this app. From the different voices to the background music it gives you a fresh revelation of scripture. My personal favourite is that they have playlists of scripture, for example the love of God - so they have accumulated a bunch of scriptures about the love of God, they have playlists of scriptures to play before bed & great bible plans. This app makes it easy to surround your life w Gods truth to flood & transform your life! Thankyou so much for creating a phenomenal app, looking forward to growing deeper in my walk w God!

This bible. I have been shucking four abibl of this cind wondering were I could get an mp3 version but lord in heaven had fulfilled my hart thank you

Feeds my soul!. Beautiful! Calms and nurtures my heart mind and soul. Using it quietly in the background during my prayer time. After years of Domestic Violence the depression and anxiety lingers at the threshold, when they arise the ability to listen to Gods Word given through the Holy Spirit to godly men in ages past ensures it is well with my soul. Thank you to all those who made this app a reality.

Beautiful Listening Experience. This is a gorgeous app for listening to the Bible. The choice of readers voices is a big plus, sensitive music in the background, well planned playlists, and an app that moves seamlessly through each plan; it really is something special. I hesitated purchasing the full subscription but after listening to it for a while decided it was well worth it. I don’t think I’ve heard anything quite like it before, congratulations to the developers of Dwell.

Great Audio Bible App!. Have never been a fan of audio Bibles - usually they're awkward and unpleasant to listen to. Dwell has a range of interesting and pleasant voices combined with subtle music that actually improves the listening. App interface is clean and attractive. Occasionally lags slightly when downloading a new 'track' - sometimes requiring app restart. App is quite pricey but it's gotten me more into the Bible so a worthwhile investment.

Awesome!. Really goood, Enjoy the layout, just hope they will come with repeat real soon as some tracks are short and would like them to be cycled over.

Love this app. I’ve had other audio bible apps but this is the best! It’s so calming and soothing.. the voice and the music. I love the user interface. I love everything!

What a blessing. I absolutely love the app, the interface is a little difficult to get used to at first, and I don’t always have access to internet. So if it would be possible to download chapters for offline that would be amazing. Other than that it’s really really good

I love Dwell!!!. A wonderful way to connect with God!!

Not free, but have to admit: totally worth it.. Lots of free audio Bible options out there, but the ease and flexibility and variety of voice and translation options just makes this a must have for someone like me who wants to really enjoy listening. I’ve been having issues with the downloads when I’m offline which is unfortunate, I downloaded a bunch to listen to while at work, but was told by the app that it couldn’t connect to the server. What a drag! I really wanted to listen all day. But for the most part it’s worth the glitches, even at the higher price tag. Having optional musical backgrounds that one can choose from is really awesome in practice. The technical side of this app is a little frustrating, but when it’s working well, the reading of scripture here is absolutely top notch. Thanks Dwell. Will continue to use for a long time.

You have to pay for everything. Im not even kidding you only have acess to 4 books and the other ones you have to subscribe getting a pyshical bible will be cheaper anyways. These people are money hungry, don’t even get the app and just stick to bible apps and the physical one

Daily Blessings. I am enjoying the Lent devotional Tripp and the companion scriptures are rich in feeding my soul!

One hundred gold stars. Best audio Bible out there by a long shot. Nothing even compares. It’s helped me stay in the word being a busy mom of 4 little kids. And if you can afford a Netflix subscription, you can and should be able to pay a little for your audio Bible.

Such a useful tool. I love the chance to input scripture in this way. It really adds to my reading experience, and makes me consider the words differently, since I’m hearing rather than looking. Thank you, Dwell!

Love it. This has been so worth the money. From the different reading plans to the background music to the different translations to the different voices to the ability to read along, I have increased my Bible reading tons. It is great to fall asleep to as well. I highly recommend it.

Amazing, needs work. App is amazing, concepts are good, designed beautifully but offline use really needs work.

The best. I love this app it's just the best I had to pay but it worth it. Thank you for making this app

Excellent. Very helpful and spiritually beneficial, thank you for this app that lets me hear the Word of God continuously!

The voice choices are excellent!. I appreciate using dwell very much for when I am busy washing dishes or doing chores.

Love the app. But to require a subscription is ridiculous.. Hey, friends! I get the nuance of an app being a business and needing to support creators but being required to pay for access to the app is really unfortunate. I wish this wasn’t a thing.

Blinded by grief. At this moment in time I cannot read the Word if Gix as I am blinded by the grief if losing my son to suicide. I can’t focus but I can listen. Thank you for bringing me the word even in the depths of my sorrow.

Amazing app!. Such a wonderful app! It has everything you need to stay close to the Word!

Wonderful App- Some Recommendations. I really enjoy using dwell. Sometimes I can’t concentrate reading the Bible on my own and it’s really helpful to have someone read to you. I just have a few comments for feedback: - sometimes the app is slow or glitchy. I’m not sure if there can be an update for that? - it would be nice to be able to download entire books for offline use - i know this is probably not easy to do, but could you please add the apocryphal books too? Thanks for such a wonderful app!

LUV THIS APP!. It’s so helpful for when you’re in a rush but want to get yourself In God’s word!!🤍 God bless the creators of this app!

Dwell Bible Reading App. This app has made consistent Bible reading possible for me! And it’s an absolute joy for me enjoying and feasting on Gods Word daily by being able to adapt the Bible reading to a voice and sound that works for me. Bless you guys.

Not bad😎. I dont use it too much but its alright 👍🏻

Great app, lots of options for audio Bible. This app has been a nice addition to reading the Bible. I really enjoy it for having someone “read to me” while I follow along in my Bible simultaneously. Also great for on the go, with multiple voice options and the music in the background is a nice bonus. Highly recommend.

Amazing for ADHD. I have very bad ADHD and can’t read for more then 2 minutes without my mind wandering and this makes it so much easier I listened to 15 minutes and wanted to listen to more. Thank you Dwell for helping me find God.

Love. The audible form of layout of Gods word is un-ending ! Grab a seat with Holy Spirit and let Christ do his thing !!! Blessings J T Healey

Needs improvement. Good idea! But could get it to do anything kept freezing or something weird .

I love this app. There are many voices and translation options for listening to the audio Bible. The background music options are also super great. There are study plans and devotionals available on the app as well. Very worth the subscription! I love this app!

Faith comes by hearing ❤️. So so thankful for Dwell and how it has been an avenue of greatly increasing the amount of scripture I take in. Yes, NASB next please!!

Horrible App. Why would you have the Bible locked except a few books? Was this app made to edify the body of Christ or was it made to profit off them like 2 Peter 2 says..? That question is for you because I already know the answer…

Amazing so far!. I finally get the read the bible the way I like! It being read to meeee. The calming music is a great add and I love the music change and tone intonations for certain parts of the story telling! Well done app creators! Much thought was put into this🩵

Beautiful. This app is one of the best ways to listen too and enjoy God’s Word. The various voice, translations, and background music makes it a simply beautiful experience.

Perfect for my season of life right now. This app was recommended by a podcast I listen to, “as for me and my house”. I thought I would give it a try and I am so glad I did! It’s just what I need in this busy season of life. I have 5 kids 10 and under and I rarely have time to sit and read. Now I can listen to the word of God when I’m doing all the tasks… dishes, laundry, gardening, cooking etc. It’s wonderful, and I love that I can choose what music goes in the background too!

Dwell Review. Thank you so much for this wonderful app. I so appreciate all the choices in narrators and musical backgrounds and most especially the content. The devotionals are a personal favourite. One suggestion I would ask is if on the daily devotionals, they would not say “it’s been a joy to be with you”, as it feels somewhat disingenuous since the reader isn’t actually with us. I so appreciate the current lent closing Go in peace, and may the word of the Lord dwell richly in you”. The other suggestion that I have been thinking about is, I so wish the Bible passages in the Christmas and lent devotionals would be incorporated into the body of the daily devotional (not a separate place to go to afterwards). It’s not that it’s that inconvenient, it’s just so very well chosen and I don’t want any reason to finish without including the passages. Perhaps you are trying to keep it short for those that are wanting a quick devotional, but thepassages are so rich and meaningful and could make the devotionals even better, if they were found together. Perhaps a button in the same page could start the passages. Thank you for what you offer. We so appreciate it, and is a regular way we begin every day. May the Lord bless you!

Awesome App. This app is exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve been wanting an app that plays the Bible in various voices and music, that I can choose! It’s perfect for all day and for bedtime…. thank you for making this app this way :)

Works very well. Makes listening to the Bible every day a breeze. Great source of inspiration.

So good!!!. I love to Listen to the Word and the beautiful voices and of course it feeds me with my daily bread. Also gives my eyes a break. I can lay in bed and soak to the scriptures!!

Very good and peaceful.. Really enjoy it, but sadly too expensive for me at the moment.

So encouraging. I never leave reviews but this time I had to. This app has helped my husband and I through one of the most challenging seasons of our life so far. There’s nothing like falling asleep and waking up to Gods word. We love the daily devotionals, such a great way to start the day. Worth every penny!

Appreciate it very much. Just got it, the choice of voices in neat and the way we can follow and read along is well made. Thanks 🙏 again

Mixed feelings. Really like the app itself. Disappointed in the new devotionals. They are very liberal leaning and I will probably stop recommending and gifting Dwell because of it.

Love this app.. I first tried Dwell when it was a new app. I had just had my daughter in 2018. She was my first and very colicky. I found the Scripture and music calming when I was so stressed and overwhelmed— especially at night. Still love this app today! Thanks Dwell.

Handy app. Great variety in translations, good voice and music. Occasionally a just little glitchy in getting it to work. I have ADD and use this weekly, I find its help for focusing. It’s helpful for when you’re trying to read but can’t bring yourself to focus on the words.

Love this app!. I use Dwell as part of my morning time with God. It is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. It enriches my daily time with God beyond measure, giving me fresh ears to hear the Word. I highly recommend it!

I don’t know why I only bought this now... I am so thankful for Dwell providing this resource. It helps lead you into the heart posture of willingness & humility in order to hear God’s Word. I bought the lifetime package. Very worth it.

Worth every penny. I have looked forward to reading using this app. The voices draw you into the story and hold you there. The app interface is so easy to use. You can read the screen. The pace of the reading is just right. You can choose your favourite version. Truly an app for everyone

Love it!. I love the functionality and ease of use. Great for driving and listening, memorizing Scripture, and looking up verses on the go. Nice to see different versions for comparison as needed as well. And the background music choices are a nice touch!

Can’t wait for the NASB!!!. can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait? hehe

Suggestion. Would love to see the option of putting one verse on repeat for the sake of memorization. This app is so great though! I have a lifetime subscription and am so happy with it otherwise.

Love. Love this app. So great when your eyes are tired to be able to just listen to the Word. And to be able to choose a voice and version. Also love the timer.

Inspired. The words of scripture come to life using Dwell. It keeps getting better and better

So thankful for this app!. I first bought lifetime membership to this app years ago, but it has only been in the last year I have used it more consistently and am loving it! The creators truly have vision for the design, playlist choices, and overall experience for the user. I love the playlist options, especially the more recent releases of the “Holy Ordinary”, and can listen way more often than I can sit down and read my Bible. I’m very thankful for the creative vision God has given so that I have the opportunity to dwell in His Word. Thank you!

Christian music please. I am enjoying listening to the bible every morning. Just wondering if Dwell is planning to add hymns. I love music, my favourites are well known hymns from my school days and I love the new ones like Chris Tomlin. I have them on my play list, however it would be great to have them here. Music keeps me devoted to God’s word and helps me to praise him and rejoice in his goodness. Thank you Blessings, Brenda

Perfect for listening. I’ve tried lots of bible plans but I love this the best. The times of voice abd tomong are really easy to listen to!

Love it!. Love this app for reading/ listening to the Scriptures! I wish it offered other Spanish versions of bibles as well. Keep up the good work.

Love the content, hate the glitches. Of all the bible apps I have tried, Dwell is by far my favorite. I love the choice of voices and the ambient music background is lovely. I love the ability to create playlists and complete plans. My only qualm is that this app glitches out on me a lot. I’m a very linear person I so most of the time I’m just going through the bible in order (not skipping around or listening to passages from all over). However, this app will lose my place or restart a chapter quite often, and it’s frustrating, especially since I’m not always sure where I left off. But hey, it didn’t stop me from re-upping my subscription another year. The good far outweighs the bad. But if the glitches were resolved it would be a 5 star app for sure!

SO glad I gave this app a try!. I was praying and asking the Lord to refresh and revitalize my love for reading the word and then I came across this app. The Lord knows I am an aesthetics girl, so when I came across this and the app was beautifully designed, I was so excited. Even the app icon is great. Above the aesthetics, being able to listen to the word in soothing voices is the best. Tinashas soothing voice with guitar is my favorite so far. It makes reading the word so so fun! I am very impressed with the attention to detail in this Bible app. I am willing to pay the monthly fee, but I know it may not be accessible to all. I understand it takes finances though to run an app. May the Lord bless the creators this app. 🙏🏽🫶🏽🩷

A Bible App That Actually Helps You Engage With The Bible. I so appreciate that this app is JUST scripture, but with settings that offer so much flexibility to read or listen. You can set up “playlists” of verses/passages, you can choose the translation and the reader, you can choose background music, have it random, or none at all!! The backgrounds are soothing and the voices are engaging and calming. I especially like how you can have pauses between passages, though I wish there was a way (or it was more intuitive) to set up pauses between each verse for prayer/meditation than putting each verse separately into a play list.

Very thankful. I love the fact that this app has playlists of different verses by topic. My job is very stressful and causes a lot of anxiety if I’m not getting truth in my mind. I put the “Give Thanks” playlist and some other ones on repeat and chose some of the background music and got so relaxed I fell sound asleep. One note is that if you leave it playing all night, your phone may try to set off your alarm but you won’t hear it. I overslept for an hour until a different alarm did go off that I heard. Then I had three more alarms set as I got ready for the day, and they each came on my screen, but both the alarm and the Dwell app had no sound. I’ve had that happen with other audio apps I’ve used before, but not all, so I know it can be fixed.

Highly Recommend!. I have never wrote a review in the App Store, but I simply couldn’t not write a review for the Dwell app. This app is fantastic. I’m on day eight of using it, and it’s help alter my learning of the Bible in a positive way. I’ve never been an auditory learner, but have been trying to weed out the negative things I’m listening to and insert more healthy things, and this app had done the trick. While using the app, even in just short eight days, I’ve been able to memorize parts of the Bible I never would have attempted before downloading. Thank you, creators of the dwell app! If I had one request, it would be to be able to make our own playlists within the app.

Favorite Bible listening/read app. Love this app! I’ve had it for nearly three years now but I’m just writing a review. It’s gotten better over time. I went from a monthly subscription my first year to paying for a one-time lifetime membership during (I think) a Black Friday sale a year or two ago. The reason why this is four not five stars is because whenever I am traveling or in an area with awful connection, I dislike that this app is (seemingly) dependent on wifi or cellular. It takes forever to load the Home Screen and/or audio and music, and it oftentimes buffers for extended periods of times throughout a single chapter. Sometimes I just have to give up and not listen because it won’t load. I’m not tech savvy but I don’t understand why the app can’t function well/smoothly apart from some sort of internet or cellular connection. And as somebody who drives long distances often, it’s sort of annoying… If you don’t travel a lot, and are rarely out of reach of some sort of wifi or great signal, the app itself is perfectly fine! You’ll love it. I have for three years!

Hands free scripture meditation. This app has been life changing for me. I’m a working mom with 3 kids under 5. While I do manage to sit down with my paper Bible some days, there are days when my hands are full. Listening to the Bible through Dwell has kept me fettered to God’s Word during a hard pregnancy during a global pandemic. Countless nights I spent falling asleep to the “Peaceful Psalms” playlist; eventually I chose one to memorize and could just play it on repeat until I knew it by heart, and it would come to me throughout the day in moments of weakness and need. Before the stay at home orders, I was listening in the car every morning with my 5-year-old son, and we would talk about what we heard and pray. There are some voices where I find the accents distracting, but there are three that I like, which is more than enough, and surely there’s something for everyone. The background music is just lovely! I really can’t recommend this app enough. I do wish I could save specific verses (as opposed to whole chapters) in order to memorize and mediate on those. Perhaps a possible feature in the future? Thank you to all the people at Dwell!

Finally here and not disappointed!. I don't think I've looked forward to an app release as much as this one. I typically don't pre-order apps, but made an exception here. I love audiobooks and podcasts, so listening to the Bible has always been something I've desired. However every audio version has fallen so short and never been able to work for me... until now! I can't tell you which aspect of Dwell makes the difference: Is it the ability to choose different voices? I think that's a huge benefit and really let's you customize the sound of the passage. Is it the background music? I almost want to say "yes, entirely!" to this one. First, the original composed music is beautiful. Second, you get to select the genre you prefer. This is the biggest part other audio Bible options usually miss. Is it the reading plans, playlists or passages? Yes, yes and yes. This is quite unique for audio options. However, it's the fact that Dwell has ALL of these features! I'm excited to see where Dwell goes in the future! Good job, guys!

One of our favorite, all time apps!. This is an outstanding app to deepen our study of the word. My daughter and I love listening to the bedtime Bible stories and the repeat function helps with memorization. I also like that you can choose different Bible translations. It would be great if it was easier to navigate with more designated groupings instead of having to use the "search function". Also, I would make it easier to favorite with the heart icon directly on the item, instead of having to use the pulldown menu. I would also like to see the Bible verse named before it is read by the speaker — it would help for reference while we are listening when not in front of our device. :-)

Could it be that God might DWELL amongst us?. Not too many apps “touch my heart”. This is a well-done program to help those of us who appreciate audio learning and experiencing. I love the navigation, the voices, the music and not-now-music, the ability to have the reading slow down, and the ability to change voices even on the fly. I was an advocate of this app early and in hope, signed up for a LIFETIME. It sounds so very dramatic. I must say, on “day1”, I am not disappointed in the least. I plan on using this program in all my non-quiet-times with God. (“If you are having a ‘quiet-time’, you are doing it wrong”)After my first listen, this app was immediately moved from page 4 of my apps to PAGE 1. Need I say more?

Voices are ALL awful. The concept is great but terribly executed. But, before I could back out I was charged for 12 months for an app I am not loving. First of all, the voices are all boring and/or hard to understand. Why the British accent?! Why???? Why do all audio Bibles feel the need to showcase the British accent?? The one person that speaks easy to understand English is so dry and boring sounding that the only time I seriously consider listening to him is before bed. Haha! And why did you select people with Indian and African accents that are hard to understand? I love my Christian brothers and sisters from all over the world, but this is not how I prefer to do bible listening. They are very hard to understand. You guys failed to master the basics on the audio portion of the app...which is why you even exist in the first place!! Another issue is the lack of visual Bible to see and scroll through as the audio is playing! Why not??? It might offset the hard to understand speakers if I could follow along in the app. Oh, and they don’t have the entire Bible and they only have one translation. ESV only. Luckily I’m an ESV fan! The one positive is the music that you can play along with the audio. This hardly makes up for everything else, in my opinion. I wish I could get a refund!! But they wouldn’t let me on the App Store. Not worth the cost yet IMO. Might never be.

A little help in time of need. A year ago I went through some dark turbulent times with physical pain, anxiety and depression. My son and daughter in law gifted me a year’s subscription to Dwell. I didn’t make good use of it until three months later when I plugged into a plan to go through the whole Bible in a year. I have been faithful to it and have certainly enjoyed the versatility of the different reading voices, as well as, the variety of different music options. My gift subscription just ran out and I panicked! Well until I got hooked up with a lifetime subscription that is. Now I have no excuse not to finish reading the Bible through in a year. I am so thankful that such a small act of love has given me regular soul refreshment. What a great app.

Latest IOS update. I love this app and it’s been a huge blessing ever since I purchased it a few months ago. However, the latest update for IOS has a lot of bugs, especially in the Dwell mode (which is a great feature). I feel like I’m spending too much time having to click around to make sure my app moves effortlessly through the book I’m listening to. That takes away from the focus on what I’m listening to and when the app then arbitrarily turns off in the midst of that, I end up feeling really frustrated. I wish I could return to the previous version of the app!! Please take a look at the Dwell Mode and make sure that it’s possible to have an entire book on repeat. It’s wonderful when listening to Psalms to just love through each chapter with meditation time in-between.

What a Joy. What a joy and blessing this app is! It is so well put together with plans, passages, and playlists. I love how they have put together key passages from the Bible for you to quickly access in the passages and play list tabs, but I like that you also simply have full access to the Bible in your library, where you can choose the particular passage of scripture for yourself. The plans are also very expansive from an entire year, to specific books in one week. Not to mention, the readers are phenomenal! It’s a tool that truly helps you abide in God’s Word. When I first get up in the morning, rather than scrolling through social media, I open my Dwell app and hear a passage or playlist.

Amazing concept - hoping for improvement. I paid for a year of the full version because I loved the idea so much. The looping function is an amazing help in sitting and meditating on a particular scripture verse or passage, and I enjoy the flexibility allowed for things like volume, background sounds, playback speed, and even reflection time between verse repetitions. I don’t recall having any issues with the free version, but now that I am using the full version I’m having quite a bit of difficulty. - I can see “Catherine” and “Kylie” in advanced voice settings, but no matter what I try I cannot get them to read the passages I’m listening to. I would love to have a choice between different female voices (this announcement was a big reason I was ready to pay for the app). - App tends to be non-responsive to taps for several seconds. Not sure if this is just happening in certain circumstances, but I notice that switching between passages or playlists causes a big delay. This happens every time I use the app, multiple times. - I have not been successful in getting the “random” voice picker to work. It stays on one voice even when I select random in the player. If these things could be fixed, this would be my go-to app and well worth the price. Hopefully there can be a solution soon.

A Wonderful Change In My Life. I am thankful to Christ that I discovered Dwell! The daily Scriptures and devotionals are inspiring and motivating. I give praises to God Most High for His presence in my life, and since I have been listening to Dwell, there has been a wonderful change in my life. The daily meditations and Lenten devotions have helped to deepen my relationship with God, and now I am more aware of the Lord’s presence with me as I go through each day. This app is amazing! I have shared some of the meditations with my friends and family members and some of them are listening to Dwell now! I encourage everyone to try this inspirational app and perhaps a wonderful change will happen in your lives as well as you daily listen to “Dwell”.

Such an amazing app! Know this will be transformative. I absolutely love this app & can’t believe how much thought and care the team must have put into designing it. The UX is seamless, the art and music are gorgeous & the voices hit the right emotions between soothing/serious/invigorating. I listened to Romans 8 whole getting ready for work and found it so much better than the basic audio reading on other bible apps/audiobooks. I also was super impressed that you could switch between the voices and not have to start the section over - it’s somehow smart enough to pick back up right where the other voice left off. Definitely a fan!!

High quality audio Bible experience!. This is a fantastic app! The creators have a heart for God’s people to hear the living word spoken on a daily basis with a commitment of very high production standards. The recording quality is excellent and all four narrators add a unique sound and inflection (this requires a subscription but one narrator named “Mark” is included in the free version and is excellent). The background music is beautiful as is the artwork. The app includes listening plans or just pick any book and chapter and go. I use it to complement the free “Read Scripture” app from Francis Chan and read the words on that app and listen to the audio on the Dwell app. It’s such a great way to start each morning. Highly recommend this app! It’s the best audio version of the Bible I’ve ever encountered.

Almost perfect. I really appreciate this app for its dynamic voice readings of the Bible and its structured study plans, which deepen my engagement with God's word. However, I have a suggestion for improvement: I wish the study plans included a calendar feature that doesn't automatically progress to the next day after completing the current day's plan. Often, when I return to the app later in the day, I find it challenging to remember whether I've completed the plan for that day, especially since I'm following multiple plans. A more static calendar feature would greatly enhance my ability to track daily progress.

Listening to God’s word has helped me so much!. This app has helped me stay focused on God + His word even when I’m busy or driving around running errands. Yes, you could do something similar with sermons, but listening to God’s word itself has been powerful for me! We must study to show ourselves approved, and part of that is truly knowing God’s word for ourselves, not just listening to what someone else received from God about it. So I’m thankful for this app and all the features it has to make our own playlist of verses + their pre-made playlists. It also has a feature to repeat the verses to us which has helped me really meditate on The Word!

Paid the subscription to listen to silence. I so badly want to give this 5 stars. I love the concept so much. The voices and music are great. The playlists and curated plans are awesome. But unfortunately, the app only works for me 15% of the time. Most of the time no matter what playlist or verse I click on, the bar moves forward but no sounds comes out. When it does work, it often stops playing after the first verse in the playlist and I can’t get it to go through the entire playlist. The queue never works for me. I have tried absolutely everything to troubleshoot and it just doesn’t work. This is my second year subscribing and I’m just really bummed at wasting the money on a false premise. And being stuck listening to subpar recordings. I am having way more issues this year than last year. PLEASE FIX THE BUGS.

Love it- looking forward to updates. This app is great as it is and appears to have a great future in store. I typically use Audible ESV audio Bible and its tough to get to what exactly I want to get to. This app solves that problem. I can quickly get to book/chapter I want. Where it really shines for me is the stories feature. It has various stories set out where you simply tap and listen to Daniel and the Lions, Noah's Ark etc. It's brilliant in its simplicity, Reading older reviews online, you can really see how the developers have responded to reviews in updating the app. This gives me great confidence that they will continue to improve the experience. There are some minor things that could be improved or additional features that could be added, but there is nothing that prevented me from downloading and opting for a 1 year subscription. I am a stat and check mark junkie. While, they do keep track of overall listening stats, but it'd be nice to have more tracking ability so I know what I've listened too. Also, a sleep timer would be helpful!

A blessing that makes God’s Word truly come alive. This is the best app I have ever had, hands down. I have struggled to read or listen to the Bible regularly pretty much my entire life, but now that I have found Dwell, I find myself getting so immersed in the living Word, that I’ll listen well beyond what is on my daily plan. I am partial to Gregory’s voice with the ambient music. I feel like I am actually there in every verse, chapter and book. THANK YOU to the developers, backers, and donors for this app! This is not just an app, it is a ministry. I encourage anyone who has benefitted from this to donate to Dwell. I hope it can reach people around the world who are seeking but still need to find.

Not the most user friendly.. Reading a lot of positive reviews, I was surprised that I haven’t enjoyed this app very much. There is only one audio voice that I like & it is not very user-friendly overall. I haven’t been able to find out how to go back a chapter while listening to audio Bible, without completely re-going through search, Bible book, select chapter. Also, the way they break up the verses during audio narration & read along, with the entire verse “address” (book name, chapter, and verse number) underneath every single verse & with a gap separating every verse is very annoying and distracting to flow of text and thought. Major dislike and no option to customize the display

Great App for Mind Renewal!. I love this app! I just recently started using Dwell after a recommendation. I’m a very visual learner, so I wasn’t sure if this app would be helpful to me. I’ve been amazed at how much I use Dwell throughout the day. As Romans 12:2 says, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. I’ve been using this app throughout the day to not just listen to scripture, but to soak it in and renew my mind. I’m not even close to perfect, so I still need lots of transformation to become more like Christ. I think I’ve used every feature available. My suggestions/critiques are quite small. I’ve used the app to help me get to sleep. I love all of the voices, including Christopher’s (and I like some KJV thrown into the Random mix). My issue is Christopher’s voice is much louder on the app, so sometimes it prevents me from getting to sleep. I know I could block his voice, but I don’t want to. I’ve only had this app one week, so maybe I’m missing this. I know I can add scripture to the queue, but is there anyway of creating my own playlist, or keeping certain items in the queue? That’s it. I love Dwell, and I’m glad this visual learner gave it a try!

A game changer for daily bible reading. Before you sigh at the thought of adding another paid subscription to your list, just stop and think about it. $3.99 is less than your average latte. It’s worth it to have scripture saturate your daily life, and to actually enjoy listening to it; to listen along with some of the most popular reading plans; to choose from multiple voices and translations, with optional background music; and for scripture playlists. The price for what you’re getting is beyond fair and beyond worth it. I love using this during my daily commute or while I do chores. There’s no devotions, no opinions, just scripture. Thank you Dwell, and keep up the good work. I’d love to see Alexa compatibility, and the Christ Kirk Reading Challenge/Plan to be added!

dwell2love. I finally found an app that makes listening to the bible so wonderful and very easy to navigate my way around. There is more than just listening to the bible with this app. I can hardly wait to hear all the other stories included. The background music is also very nice and easy to change to whatever you feel like hearing for the day. The piano and wave sounds are very cool, but I plan to try out all the different tunes that are available. I also like the fact you can pick and choose whatever voice you want to hear when listening. Thumbs Up!

An Engaging, Uplifting, Fresh Way To Experience Scripture. I’ve always struggled to read the Bible, feeling like it wasn’t sinking in and that I needed to do extensive studying to truly get anything out of it. But listening to the word, it has such a sweetness and a reverence to it. I don’t feel the pressure to understand everything, it feels effortless. It resonates so deeply. I am so thankful for this app. I am looking forward to all of the books of the Bible being added, and to hopefully more voice options in the future! I also love the plans and the search feature, but hope you can make your own playlists one day. I love the artistry behind it all as well. This app is 100% worth it.

Great App, Carplay Issues. High quality app done by people who really care about God's Word. I like the recent switch to put reading plans at the top of the home screen. I am not sure if the issues are with Dwell or Carplay, but on the Carplay screen there is an icon with 3 bars on the top right that takes me back to whatever I'm listening to. I love this feature, but if I'm using any other audio feature like music or a podcast, the button disappears and I really wish it stuck around so I could switch among different audio stuff while driving. Not sure if this is a Dwell issue or a Carplay issue.

Need more help!. I am not finding the app as intuitive as my brain would like🤪 I love voices and music but I get frustrated trying to navigate—something that typically doesn’t happen for me. Is there a tutorial of features? I always skip that because I can figure it out but now I’m wishing I could feel more comfortable with how to take advantage of what it can do. For instance, if I want it to start at john 15 and read to me for 30 minutes, I’m missing how to make that happen. As I’m falling asleep, I’m distracted because it’s actually just repeating john 15. I’m not a technology novice but I’m tempted to go back to You Version because its design makes more sense to me. Thank you for helping peeps like me!

Great audio Bible app!. I got this app a number of months ago through the recommendation of a friend. I purchased the three months for 99 cents and was very pleased with this high quality audio Bible. There are many Bible apps that focus on a great reading experience which is wonderful but I appreciate the team at Dwell making a solid, well thought out audio Bible app. I appreciate their vision to encourage people in DWELLing on God’s Word day and night. When I first got the app I was disappointed that they did not have a way to repeat individual verses or verse sections in the Dwell mode but was so happy that in one of their recent updates they added this feature. Thank you Dwell team for your hard work and dedication to encouraging people in saturating their lives in the Word of God!!

Change starts now!. This app will change you. We absorb so many things from music, podcasts, social media, movies and more. Everything you listen to and read will shape who you are and who you become. I am one who loves to listen to things and have been dreaming of an app that lets you listen to the Bible in vivid and beautiful voices. There are free apps that read the Bible, but there’s nothing like Dwell. You can pick from calming, thought provoking, and engaging voices. This app will have you thirsting for more of The Word. I am blown away about the ease of use, the beautiful artwork, and most of all how this app draws me closer to my Jesus.

Affordable journey companion. At times keeping with our daily Bible reading routine is hard since stories and passages feel trite and routine. So I am always on the look for new ways to read the Bible and/or getting biblical insight. I found this app after the free one I was using started including adds about unrelated products. Although this is a paid subscription the price is affordable and give you various options in terms of voices, versions, and background music/sounds which I greatly appreciate. The feedback I have is to include other languages and versions in those languages since in the majority of English speaking countries there is a large segment of the population from other non-English speaking countries. Also when we travel abroad it would be nice to have the option of an easy language Bible in those languages like German, French, and Italian. But the most important one right now is having the ability to highlight verses an passages as elk as to written notes. Overall a good app with various options to reading or listening to the Bible. We also appreciate the price which make it affordable. Thank you for your ministry.

Good app, but doesn’t state when switching chapters or books. The free version of the app has great narration, but I would change 2 things: 1. On the Bible listen plans, like the 5 day per week plan, the narrator should say the book and chapter of the passage he is about to read. I listen to this in my commute. The passages this week were Genesis, Psalms, and Mark. The narrator switches between books semmlesly without specifying which passage it is, and it can get confusing when Noah is speaking and all of a sudden a Psalms is being read, or an apostle is speaking. I can’t look at the phone while driving to see which passage it has switched to. This would be a nice feature. 2. I do not plan to switch to the premium version of Dwell, and I would like to be able to start listening to scripture each day without having to listen to the advertisement to upgrade.

Incredible App!. This app was designed expertly and the variety of voices and music you can choose are just right. I personally enjoy listening to the scripture being read with some vocal variations (excitement, intensity, joy, etc...), so I like Gregory and Felix the best. I love how they have divided up portions of scripture and each section has a time stamp to let you know how long it is. Plus, you can just listen straight through a book if you want. There are so many options and it is only going to get better! I can’t wait for them to release the readings in KJV as that is my preferred version but I do love to listen with the current version. Thank you for developing such a useful Bible listening app! I will be using this daily.

Love DWELL. My husband and I are early Kickstarter backers, and we wish we could give Dwell to everyone we know! Already in the first time I used it, I couldn’t hold back tears. The voices and the music together presents the Word of God in the most beautiful way I have ever heard. It leaves me in awe to know this is historically the most common way people received Scriptures, by hearing it! As a highly visual learner, I have always had trouble listening to long passages in the past—finally Dwell has broken that barrier for me, and I can absorb the Word at any time (especially long commutes), when I would have otherwise had to lock myself in a room to read undisturbed (not always possible anymore as a stay-at-home mom). Thank you Dwell for bringing the Word back into my daily life!!

Amazing. Well worth the annual fee. Great work. Love hearing Felix. My parents are Nigerian. So listening to an African voice while reading Genesis and the Old Testament just reminds me of a voice that is probably closer to the actual voice of our Lord and the people of the time. It also reminds me of growing up in an African household. Love that I can hear Felix in the Bible version of my choice, ESV. Such incredible variety and customization. Will be sharing this with friends and family. I think I finally found something that stirs up my affections for Christ and makes me want to listen every day. Currently on the Bible in 90 days plan. The read-along is perfect! Just one hour a day. Great way to wake up in the morning.

Love this app! Listen every morning!. Update review after 2 years. It would be so helpful if there was a pause of music or a change of voices or some Kind of differentiation during the playlists from passage to passage. Without prior context of scriptures the transitions run together and become confusing. Even with context it kinda drives my husband crazy when it jumps from Ruth to Paul in Acts for example. The only thing I would ask is that they make it so that I can chrome cast it to my google speaker. The voices in so many different accents!! Love love love! The various topical listening plans! Wow! This app since I purchased in 2020 has only gotten better! Thank you for putting this out there! God bless the Dwell Team!

Add more memorization features please!. Absolutely love this app in every way. One thing I keep wanting as I use this app is tools for memorizing scriptures. To have the ability to pick a specific passage (not just the whole chapter, but verse/verses) that can be repeated a chosen number of times along with a specified time of silence between each repeat as to try to repeat it yourself from memory. I’m assuming this would take a long time to develop as I’m sure you would have to separate the audio stems into specific verses (if you hadn’t already done that). But I just keep thinking how incredible it would be to have this as a memorization tool. Great job on the app! I love it.

Didn’t expect to get this much out of it.. This is so thoughtfully put together. It feels very premium. The listening is so customizable with the speed of the voice, the number of choices, and the sincerity of their reading. The music pairs so well. You can control the volume of voice and music independently. And the extras - having it repeat, starting reading from any verse, selecting only a specific passage, the many plans and collections of verses are all well done. I was in tears this morning listening to my daily reading of Genesis- it’s a story I’ve heard hundreds of times and yet it struck me differently being able to simply listen. It’s worth far more than the subscription fee.

Beautifully read Scriptures. I’ve been using the Dwell app now for two years; everyone who reads the Scriptures on this app seems to read with such a passion and deep love for God’s word. It transfers over to me in my heart, when I’m rushing around, getting ready in the morning or driving my car or taking my dogs on a walk. The app has a few glitches; if you don’t finish a particular reading on a day sometimes when you go back to listen the next day, it returns you to the beginning; but not anything I would disrupt my service for. I encourage you to try Dwell; it has helped sustain my spiritual life in this trying season.

The best Bible listening experience hands down!. You can choose, voices/accents, translations, voice volume, music/ambient sound volume, reading speed, all independently from each other. it has many listening plans, and my favorite are the topical playlists. listen to playlists on promises, or forgiveness, or bible stories when you have free time, or go through an annual plan each morning. If you need time to meditate and pray on what you heard before going on to the next reading, there is a setting for that. Do you want it to repeat? it can do that too. It also has a beautifully designed interface to make engaging with scripture frictionless. Don't wait. Start listening to God's word today.

Faith Comes By Hearing. A couple of years ago I was having a lot of anxiety and after praying about it I felt in my heart that I needed more faith. Then in the middle of the night I was praying about how to get faith and the verse from Romans 1017 came to mind… Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ! I went to search immediately for some sort of an app that would play the word of God over and over into my ears while I was on business trips. I didn’t always pay attention to what I was hearing but I knew it was important to keep hearing. Then overtime that anxiety was completely gone! We have bought Dwell for several people since then! What a great app!

Worth it!. In a world where apps lose value after the next latest-and-greatest app is relased, Dwell holds its own. They add more voices/translations and add new features like read-along. The devlopers are responsive and helpful. I’ve submitted a few bug reports and offered some feature improvements and they listened! The core features of the app help you build a daily habit of listening to God’s Word! I think the subscription is worth it. It beats the days of buying tons of CDs while being tied to one voice/translation. Dwell will probably become the only app subscription that is an investment in your spiritual growth.

Wonderful. I love this app. There is something incredible about the spoken Word. I love the beauty of hearing God’s Word as I hike through the mountains or drive a scenic route. My spirit is lifted up and encouraged. My favorite features are: 1) it shows the chapter and verse as you listen. This makes it easy to track in my Bible and highlight verses or make notes. 2) The plans and segments show how long they are so I can easily pick something the length of my hike or drive. 3) You can control music and voice volumes separately. Sometimes I want the music and soft words in the background. Sometimes I want just the words or to play my own music as I listen. I highly recommend this app 👍🏻

I’m in Love with this incredible Audio Bible!. I’ve tried 6 video Bible Apps before discovering this one. No words can express how much I love it! Listening in my car, exercising or anytime I’m not able to sit and read has given me an amazing experience and Love for this most precious book. Adding a narrator that you can choose and back ground music has added a whole new level of spirituality to this incredible experience. I would recommend this to everyone. In fact, can we purchase this for others as a gift? I would love to purchase for friends and family. 💕when I share from favorites, it would also be-nice if it read from the voice and music I, chose for sharing.

It’s worth the one-time purchase! Trust me!. You won’t regret the one time purchase at all. Save up for it. You can listen to the Bible in so many variations (I would recommend only the KJV), but you will be able to customize what you’re listening to all according to your own liking. I’m not one to really ever purchase full access on any apps, but this one is the best one time purchase I’ve ever decided to buy. Would recommend everyone who owns that app does it too. It’s well worth it and no I’m not an affiliate or payed by the company to say this review. It’s all from experience with the app. Love you all! God bless and protect you all always!

Wonderful for busy moms!. It’s hard some days when my hands are full of kid stuff to sit down and physically hold my Bible. My toddler always wants to climb in my lap and color on the pages! Listening to scripture and letting it play through my mind while my hands are busy is so good for my heart. I love the background sounds and music, and each person reads with a different personality that is so refreshing! I also really appreciate the beautiful visuals for each listening plan and the fact that the length of time is clearly marked at the top right corner of each. The app is intuitive and beautiful! My mom bought me the year unlimited subscription for my birthday and it is my favorite gift!

Fantastic! The Word of God read to you!!. This app has helped my walk with God and my relationship with Jesus Christ to be stronger than ever before! I have been reading the “straight through” plan, and every day after I hear the word of God, I feel more confident than ever that I am blessed and can be a blessing to others! The words of God are so powerful. They break every yoke and bring JOY! Every plan of the evil one is broken as we learn through these scriptures that, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, including every devil and every thing in heaven above and earth and everything under the earth, to the glory of God the Father! (Philippians 2:10-11). Hallelujah

The Only App I Have Ever Cared to Pay For. A few months ago, I started the paid version of this app because it’s the only Bible app that can help me relax and I love the idea that I can have the whole thing read to me if I have a busy day. This app is wonderful! I’ve never had any problems with bugs or glitches—the whole app is Cadillac quality. I’ve never once felt the need to get the paid version of an app because I’m a cheapskate, hahaha. But I really felt this one was worth it because it keeps me connected to Gods Word. If you find yourself falling off the wagon when it comes to reading your Bible or even if you have anxiety and need to calm down, this is the app for you. I’ve tried tons of sleeping/calming/meditation apps and none of them compare to this one!
