Good game, but.... I really like this game. It’s fun, interesting, it’s got great graphics, and it has a good storyline. However, I think there’s a few things this game could add to make it a truly 5-star game. The first way it could be improved is by making the game more interactive. Instead of just tapping on things to use energy, it would be great if we could actually control our character as they do things. This could still cost energy, and it would make the game more fun for the players. Additionally, it would be great if we could customize our Animagus form. In both the books and the movies, Animagi still have defining personal characteristics in their animal form. This could be added to the game through a one-time customization when you get your Animagus form, where you could then change your fur/feather color, eye color, and other characteristics to look more like yourself. One last thing I think could make the game better is diversity in the romance options. It would be nice if instead of only having six people to pick from, you could choose to have a crush on any of your friends. If this isn’t possible, it would at least be nice to have Bill as a romance option since I believe you can have a crush on him early in the game, but he isn’t available for the dating side quest or the Celestial Ball. Whether or not these things get added, Hogwarts Mystery is a great game, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Harry Potter.

Awesome Game, But I Have Something You Can Improve. This game is perfect! I am addicted to the story because each chapter is a new adventure! Don’t get me wrong, but the timed events that you must finish have awesome stuff in them, especially when you get the prize at the end. But, the only thing is, the timed events NEVER even GIVE you enough time to finish them, and you guys are the one who makes the energy the biggest problem, no offense. Either you guys fix the energy problem, or do not make the timed events timed, otherwise I would have second thoughts on a five-star review. Maybe you can make 1 energy every 1 second! Hahaha jk. But please fix this, this is a wonderful, addictive game and it would make it even better if we have enough time to finish all the wonderful tasks and adventures that you have for us! For a better experience for the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players, such as myself, please put my statements into thought. I know how hard it is to fix glitches every day, and to work with picky people. Please do not put me in that category, because I just want the game to be better so you guys would be successful! Thank you for your time and patients. It makes me really happy to know that you have read my improvement statements. Thank You for This Wonderful Game And Adventurous Journey That You Made for Me And All The Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Players! I’m Sure That We All LOVE This Game! Once Again, Thank You!

So fun!. Honestly, this game is great! I have always been a person who likes games that have a lot of plot and storyline, and this game definitely checks those boxes. Making your way through your years at hogwarts, you make friends and enemies, increase your magical knowledge, and stumble upon some secrets along the way. The energy, however, can be frustrating at times. I never spend money on games, so sometimes it’s hard for me to complete classes or story parts. Also, once study sessions are introduced, the game gets a little frustrating. But, don’t worry! I struggled with that too because I was like “omg I hate these so much!” Because they really don’t do anything. But developers, can I just say how much better it is when you make the study sessions 6 stars instead of 9?! Even when you have multiple classes to complete, for me it just took a lot of irritation away. I would really appreciate it if you kept it as 6 stars for study sessions. It would be great, because progressing through the story is always so fun to me. If you ever end up ditching the game because it is just too annoying with the energy and study sessions, I recommend going back in and giving it another try because I did that for multiple weeks but now it’s much more fun. You kind of just have to be patient and persevering at some points, but once you do, Hogwarts Mystery is a blast for people who really enjoy being in the wizarding world! (Sorry for making this so long! 😅)

Yikes. This game is so fun. Relaxing and keeps you coming back for more. Even if you don’t have money to spend you can still progress. However, sometimes when I watch the daily reward ads, they do not register an award, even after watching the entire 30 second ad through. Also noticed that “energy” doesn’t fill up sometimes if you leave the game running in the background of your device. Almost like the timer stops. I left the game for 40 minutes, came back and energy was still zero. Also if your “energy” isn’t on refill timer, the extra energy you can collect around Hogwarts doesn’t count towards refilling your bar. So that’s not very nice, oh and don’t bother playing Gryffindor House because you will always be in last place in “events”. Another strange occurrence is while doing tournament type events with 25 other people, a random new player will show up in the list and suddenly be in first place, pushing all the original people down or people will disappear all together only to show up hours later. Or you will be neck and neck with someone for first place and suddenly they are 1000 points a head of you which is impossible in the full marks tournament. Last thing, Hagrids storyline is designed against you. You will never have enough notebooks to “adopt” creatures. The Cruppy story was angering considering you spend over 3 hours wasting energy just to find out there isn’t a puppy left for you. That angered me. Don’t buy into their greed unless you have money to burn.

It’s okay but.... You will not be able to win an event, no matter how much you live on the game and the best clothing and dorm items are only available through the events. It is the same with the special events where you get new spells too, making it impossible to proceed and win without spending money, and a lot of it too. The jewels are ridiculously priced, otherwise I would have spent real money. Just not attached to my character at all since they can never win. I’m not a loser and neither is any “avatar” that I play as. Would like to see that fixed. They put out a survey and after getting feedback just added more clothes (that I’m not interested in personally) and left everything else. This game could be SO good if they just listened better to suggestions. I literally lived on this game for an event (waking up at night even) to make sure I utilized my energy to the fullest and was STILL not able to finish the event and lost out on making a werewolf friend. This is an example of ONE of the many events that I have done this with. Was able to become an animagus only because I had hundreds of gems saved up. It was also the first time they did an event like that, so of course, the following events they made impossible in order to promote the purchasing and spending of jewels/ gems.. I like the matching game so much more and I play that multiple times a day and feel accomplished while still getting my Harry Potter fix ;) Again, could be so much better.

Great and Does Not Have To Cost Anything. First let me say this is a fun adventure game and I love it. But I get tired of hearing people say this is a pricey game. You only have to spend money if you want to. Many games require purchases to advance in the game. That is NOT the case with this game. About cost, as you progress in the game you actually receive gems and coins. I am a gamer and I know that is rare. You do not have to purchase energy. In a three or eight hour quest -- you get to choose the length -- I have always finished well in advance of the time. Yes, when you run out of energy you do have to wait four minutes per energy point. This is normal in all the games I play. I just set the time and still always finish well in advance of the finish time. An eight hour quest takes me five hours. Only the impatient ones purchase energy. The other cost mentioned is clothing which you do not need to purchase. I did make one purchase for an outfit I really wanted to have. Everyone else in the story is usually in their Hogwarts robe or a nondescript shirt and pants. You doing need clothes. So, the game is great fun and spending money is optional. I'm at a high level and my attribute scores are extremely high all without spending a cent. I have earned enough gems and coins to purchase anything I wanted except one outfit which I chose to buy. Just play and enjoy this wonderful game.

Great Game But...... I’ve always loved Harry Potter! I read the books, seen the movies, and was fascinated with all the magic and the idea of going to a school for witches and wizards. I think this game does a great job of including people into that world with the accuracy of the characters and the story elements. However, there are things you should definitely try to improve and fix. I think the first one is the energy and the constant tapping on objects to fulfill tasks. In a way it reminds me of the sims mobile except it’s Harry Potter themed lol. But the energy tank is not enough and it is bothersome. It doesn’t make me want to play the game more it’s just this thing that gets in the way of the fun I’m having and almost ruins it. This is a story based game, and the energy issue gets in the way of enjoying the story. With the sims it’s ok because there is no story really. Your building something (the sims life) so it’s different. I could barely even finish one class without running out of energy. At least the sims gets you through a few events lol. And then the vigorous tapping isn’t as bad as the energy but finding a way to make things like the class activities to be more interactive would be cool. The last thing I’ll say is that I know this game is fairly new and hasn’t been out long. So there’s plenty of time to improve. The sims did it, for you it won’t be any difference. When these issues and little annoyances are fixed you’ll have a lot more people playing.

Good Game- A couple of problems. I love the Harry Potter game! Getting to experience the magical wizarding world is truly amazing! However the game does have a few problems... One would be that the energy only goes up to 25. I find myself in the middle of important lessons not being able to finish them because I am out of energy. The game should give us more energy or let us buy energy with our coins, not gems. Second would be that no matter what decision you make, the story ends up being the same. You can not take your own path. Third would have to be that the game restricts certain areas of Hogwarts until you can get into a different year in Hogwarts. Fourth is that after you have completed all 7 years, there is nothing more to play. The game ends just there. I would have liked it to continue with choosing a new career in the wizarding world. Finally, fifth would be you have to complete 10 long chapters in order to move on into the next year. It should be at least five chapters. I think this is one of the reasons why the game does not continue afterwards- because they ran out of space to add anything else. Overall though, I do like the game because it takes you on many different adventures around Hogwarts. I do recommend this game, but please be aware of the consequences! Also just a side note: I recently got glasses in the game- and I realized everything you do, Rowan does as well. Different outfits, accessories, and even pets.🙄

Coins, energy, and dueling. So I love this game, but there are some things that aren’t okay. First of all, you get coins as a reward for literally everything, but the only things you can spend coins on are clothes. And there aren’t nearly enough clothes to choose from, and half of the clothes are still locked or take gems. So you end up with like a trillion coins and not much to spend them on. Secondly, the energy thing is killing me, and this is particularly because recently I earned 65 energy, and it wasn’t enough to make it through a level. If something takes so much energy that you start with double of the 28 energy the meter shows, but you still can’t finish the level, something is messed up. Also there are times when I just can’t do anything because I’m out of energy, there are timers on things like having a meal with a friend and dueling, which is not how a game should be, there should not be times where you can’t play for multiple hours. Lastly, I was dueling today, and was at full health. But then I got hit with a spell that STUNNED ME FOR 4 TURNS which meant my opponent hit me with tons of spells without me being able to hit them or heal, and I died before I even got a turn. THERE SHOULD NOT BE A SPELL THAT IS UNBEATABLE IN DUELING. Also, it’s totally not fair because I hadn’t even unlocked that spell so there was no way I could do it first or anything. It may sound like a hate this game, I actually love it, there are just some issues that bug me.

So fun! But... UPDATE. I love Harry Potter and was excited to play Hogwarts Mystery. It’s a fun game, but the excessive amount of micro transactions make it annoying. I don’t that menial tasks have 3h limits to complete. I prefer 1h, as I can complete a star or two and then wait out the time. I like that we now get to do other things like play gobstones but they take several hours to reload. I dislike that one task takes up an insane amount of energy. If I sit down during my busy day to play, I don’t want to constantly wait for my energy to reload in order to get one task or class done. That being said, if developers lessened the amount of energy that goes into one task and decreased the time limit for side quests to one hour again, it would be more enjoyable to play. Update: Okay developers I see these updates, I see y’all doing your thing and I appreciate it. You can now watch ad videos for 3 energy points and for gems, classes and tasks are a bit easier to get through, the dormitory, the attribute points with purchases and pets!! I like that you can interact with friends to earn gems and energy points. I don’t LOVE that they’re capped at level 10 and after awhile all you earn is a clothing item so I hope to see more friend options! Even some older book characters come up? I’m sure the game will get better with time and I’m looking forward to all the great updates!

Misleading. This game has an interesting plot and clever features. I disagree with some of those who find the energy wait times and such disappointing; while they ARE sometimes painful, I think they’re fair in providing an incentive for spending without being too disruptive in their duration; you can still interact with the game and make progress in a meaningful way every day for free, and the hidden energy replenishes in a reasonable amount of time and is a fun feature. The price points for the gems are still a bit high; a lower price point would promote more buying. My biggest source of frustration in this development period is the fact that the full game has not been released; it currently ends near the end of year 3. Had I known this, I would likely have been more patient rather than spending gems to progress more quickly. Hopefully there will be some compensation for this in future releases. I also take issue with the button features when running out of energy; on several occasions I have accidentally hit the button to spend gems without intending to; I would like to see a confirmation window with a button in a different screen location before gems are spent. I think the game has potential, and look forward to future releases, but will not be purchasing further gems given what I now know. Without the criticisms above, I’d give the app 4-5 stars.

Almost* Perfect 🧙🏻‍♀️. This game deserves a five star rating just because the creators did such an amazing job at making Hogwarts, the entire app, look so amazing and on point with how the school actually looks. I was immediately addicted to this game as soon as I downloaded it months ago. I love that you can make your own custom witch/wizard. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, being able to choose your House is a big deal. The story starts and you’re hooked. I’ve read the negative reviews and most people just don’t want to pay for anything extra. That’s fine. This game does not require you to buy anything for you to be able to move forward. But if you love the game, want to buy some extra gems on a sale for some extra energy, then don’t feel guilty about spending $5-$20! It supports the game, helps bring updates faster, and helps the creators expand the game further. All for FREE! People need to stop complaining about getting an amazing game for free and that they don’t want to spend money or wait for the energy to refill. Just support the game! If you love it, support it! If it was a popular Xbox game, you would be spending $65, plus whatever the season pass was, PLUS a monthly fee to play online. I’d rather spend $20 on Harry Potter and hope they expand the game or make a second game. Our money really does help bring us amazing entertainment with this particular team. They’re awesome!

Fantastic except 1 thing. This has to be the best game I have played in years. I love the storyline, but I love the fact that I can play alone, and not have to have friends or an alliance to do stuff with. The one downside to this game which has hit me in a major way this week is the dueling. I have had no problem being able to make my way through the dueling tournaments over the past 3 months, but I am a second year student with high ability scores because you can repeat your classes, which you need to do for the High Marks event. But now all I am getting is year 5 and 6 to duel which have spells out of my reach, and I am constantly being stunned and am not able to stun them. I will not hit the milestone for the new spell and will miss out on the books because of this. I guess they do not want to receive any more of my money, so I will stop spending on this game which I did fruitfully the past two months. I have no problem spending when things are fair and fun, but I should not be matched up against people 3 to 4 years above me all the time. The fun has just been taken out of the game on this part, and my daughter is starting to have the same thing, so there is even more money you will lose and she will quit before I do. Great job at that. Other than that with the books difficult to come by, is the only other issue. Great game otherwise.

The Limited Time On Those “Quests”: Mainly Animagus. So I have loved the game for a very long time now, playing it and of course having fun. Sometimes those “quest” things pop up (Limited things like animagus) and I do some of it and then it runs out of time which means I have just wasted a few things on it which is not really that fair so I just brush it off. Now ever since I first saw that Become An Animagus thing I have always wanted to do it and I vowed to myself that I won’t just do a few things on it, I would try to do everything. So I did, I did try everything, but I ended up wasting ALL GEMS AND ALL COINS, for nothing. And as of now I have only a few minutes left of it and I am not even able to do the step I’m already on BECAUSE OF ENERGY. So I am now crying because of this, because I have wanted to become an Animagus in this game for such a lot time and now it’s all for nothing. My point in this review is you need to make these “quests” longer either that or make it in game time, for example: You open the game and your in the middle of one of those quests and the time limit on the quest is the same but right where you last played the game, so what I’m saying here is that they should be like when you play it the time goes down, but when you don’t play it, the time stays the same. I hope this review changes anything because this is most likely happening to others.

Improved so much ❤️. I have complained a lot about the energy but it has improved so much since I have and a lot of others have complained about it. So it doesn’t look like they are gonna take away energy 🙄 but they have improved it so much, it will now let you watch a add to get more energy which I love I have watched a lot of adds but that’s not a problem for me because I don’t want to pay money to buy energy and they are making money by me watching adds to get some (how I see it, it is a win-win) but there is a little problem it only lets you watch so many adds and then it doesn’t let you watch them anymore :( but that isn’t the main problem it takes 4 minutes for the energy to charge up to ONLY 1 which I think is ridiculous and so does many other people I think it should be 30 seconds for each energy to fill up and I think that would be way more efficient because not everybody has the time to wait four minutes for just one to fill up when you have a lesson that only has an hour to it and you can’t keep on checking back so a lot of times I will lose the lesson and have to start over and then I lose all my energy again doing that and then it just starts over so I never really get a lesson done so it would help if you reduce the time a little bit but other than that it’s is such a good game and the developers deserve some credit for how well this game is made ❤️😍

it’s ok. I recently re-downloaded the game after not playing it for a while. It is a fun game, I will say. But I only have a few problems with it. One is the amount of advertising it has in it’s own game. You have to pay for “Energy Orbs” or wait for like 2 hours. I usually don’t mind waiting, but the lessons in the game, for example, Charms class, only have a two hour limit, which means that you have two hours to finish the lesson, or you have to start over. Most of the lessons also require more Orbs than you start out with as well, which annoys me. Another problem I have is with the limits on the lessons, as I said before. They don’t give you enough time to completely refill your Orbs, making you HAVE to pay if you want to get “5 stars” on the lesson. Recently, since it’s Christmas time, I was invited to the Weasley’s for the holidays, and in order to get to the Weasley’s, you have to ask professors what their traditions are, ( Snape’s is enjoying a nice quiet snowfall on Christmas Day ) and then you have to learn spells and stuff to make gifts, and I knew it was going to take me a while, which is fine, but little did I know there was also a time limit on this one! It only gives you about two days, and if you don’t finish in those days, you just can’t go. And now I’m sad because I don’t get to see Fred and George :( I will say the game would be fun if you were willing to pay 30$ every time you wanted more Orbs to play. Thanks for reading, I usually never write reviews lol.

No way to go but up.. This game honestly has a strong base to build on, it has interesting side quests right along with the main quest. I like the inter house friendships. It’s pretty clear choice does matter in the game if only a little. It would be nice to see a bit of variation in every players story. It doesn’t make sense that Snape would hate on a slytherin or McGonagall would favor one for extra lessons. Both were pretty known for their own house favoritism, but I digress. The game itself is fun for the short while we get to play it at a time. I think before a new game decides to start panhandling so aggressively for money it should build its player loyalty first. First it would be cool to maybe do some extra activity to earn back some energy, the hidden energy tokens only go so far, maybe scrub some cauldrons for Snape to earn back 5 energy. Polish broomsticks for madam hooch, obviously you can’t do these tasks all day every day to earn free energy we all would have graduated long before now, maybe pay 200 gold for each task you can do something for each teacher related to their area of study. It would keep wait times down and players happy, and once the players run out of gold and energy then advertise a gem pack to them for a slightly decreased price. I’ve got several other ideas that would benefit both player and Jam City, but there isn’t enough space here for all that.

Fun but needs some work. I downloaded this game a few years ago but ended up getting rid of it for a few reasons. I do love the storyline and all the Customizations but there a few things I am still concerned about. For one I understand that most games have only two gendered options and that’s fine, but I wish I could make my character more androgynous and the clothing options for female characters are a little too feminine for my taste. Another thing is classes, I don’t know if this is a glitch but I am unable to take classes unless there is a class to learn a new spell or potion and I remember being able to do that before, it was one of my favorite parts as I liked bing able to choose 8 hours for a lesson then go to school and play during passing periods or on break. It was also nice because it allowed me to earn attribute points on the areas i was lower on. Otherwise I am really enjoying the game and I love that you can now make books even if you have to be in the later years to do it and one of the reasons i quit the game before was because of how hard it was to get books. The energy does take a while to get but I am willing to watch ads and it works out well for my schedule. I haven’t done any events yep but I hoping they are easier to get through with less waiting considering how they are only available for so long Still one of my favorite games to play and I love to quizzes we get with real potter trivia.

Love it the game. Love this game play it mostly everyday, but I feel like it need a change. The change should be that the energy shouldn't be recharged for 1 every 4 minutes its just not fair. I think it should be less than that so that people could have more time actually playing the game instead of wasting the time to regain that energy to continue playing. I feel like I would enjoy this game a bit more because I don't have to wait to recharge to continue playing. Also feel as though there shouldn't be the necessary need to earn stars and waste more of your energy and time just to start a class to learn a new thing. There should also be an easier way to adopt all the animals that are requested for the side quests because getting the amount of books needed is unethical because you don't really earn them a lot within the game it self. Also think there should definitely be more better looking outfits that don't cost that much within the game. I hate wearing the same old boring cloths I have/have earned. I also feel like there should be more wand options as well or at least wand appearance. Seeing as though the answer you pick at Ollivanders is the same 3 answers/wands you get like everyone else. It doesn't make it as unique as one would like it to be Love this game but makes me not really want to play it as often as i want because of those things.

LOVE THIS GAME SM!!!. I am a year 2 right now so I’ve been playing for a good while and the game is really fun and it doesn’t really get boring because there’s always some thing you can do while you’re either waiting for your energy to get back up or waiting for the new quest to be available because there is times you have to wait to do it. but honestly, I don’t mind because if it didn’t have that I’d honestly be on this game all day and wouldn’t get anything done. Harry Potter is my favorite movies of all time and I like how this is a timeline before Harry, so it doesn’t really mess up with anything in the movies and books. and it has some interesting plots. and drama between some characters. truthfully, I’d say it’s pretty fun game and I recommend playing it. waiting for more energy is a little annoying especially when you’re in the middle of a class and have to wait to finish the class but it makes sense why they do it. and there’s ways to earn more energy like in gifts you sometimes get for doing different things. and I love how there’s different things you can also do to earn like clothing, items or energy and stuff. there’s a lot more that I could get into, but I won’t do that. i’ve never played any game that’s similar to the type of game this is for the amount of time I played this game. And I truthfully, really enjoy playing the game, and I definitely recommend playing it and I don’t plan on changing my rate of five star either. Thank you.

Addicting and Fun. I think this game is perfect! It tells you a story and you get to meet friends and increase your relationship level with them as well as your attribute points. You get to dress your character and buy pets. Many people complain about the energy, but I feel as though if there wasn’t energy, you would be done with the game too quick. I love that you can make choices to increase your attribute levels, which allows you to make special choices. I also love that by clicking on certain spots you get a point of energy. I also love that by buying a pet with in game money, you get a point of energy when they are sleeping and click on them. I love that these pets are helpful. The fact that you can increase your relationship with characters to get rewards and be able to bring them with you on quests is really cool, and to do that, you must answer Harry Potter trivia makes it even better. I like that you can duel with other characters, and the way to win is to have batter attribute levels, and know more stronger spells. I also like the special events that go on that allow you to get prizes, such as outfits, gems, and coins for getting a certain amount of stars in classes before the time runs out. The only thing I don’t like about this game is the glitches. It isn’t that bad though, it never got me frustrated, and I’m in my fourth year.

Love this game but it has some big issues. I would love to give this game 5 stars but I can’t. The story is great I love the game. the idea of the app is good but the energy thing is ridiculous. I cannot go to an event without using all my energy so I have to wait and there are so many events to do so most of the time I am not continuing the story just trying to get enough stars just so I can START the lesson so I can continue the story. It takes way too much time and I just want to continue the story. The amount of gems it takes to get a good amount of energy is ridiculous and getting gems is hard so then you have to buy gems for a ridiculous amount of money. You also have to use gems so you can start an event. Or you could wait 8 hours. That is ridiculous. The creators are obviously trying to make money but I am not spending a single penny on this game. This game isn’t even finished, I saw another review that said you can’t get past year six. The game is filled with bugs and I keep getting kicked out. One time it took a month before I could play. Creators: Finish the game please! Still gonna keeps this app on my phone and play but if something doesn’t change soon I won’t spend anymore time on this game. Other people have the same complaints but I still had to write this review. Creators need to see the complaints so they can fix the game. P.S I would love if you guys could let us switch houses. I accidentally picked Ravenclaw when I should be in Gryffindor. Just a tip!

Problems. I like the game, don't get me wrong but there are a lot of problems, mainly because of the 'not enough' bravery or knowledge or whatever options, it's frustrating it truly is especially if you are just new and charge in it, I find a constant error with everything when trying to pick an option and not having enough for that option, not to mention the reset! Honestly, Pokemon games way of resetting there game is a 1000 times easier then this, I have to download apps and things I don't want, not to mention my poor little phone can handle it all! Not to mention because of the high quality there's a lot of lag, which can be a problem when doing the 'focus' part of a trial in a class, this is a large reason why I rate this a 3 star, because everything seems good, at least I hope for now it's all good from then on Well.... except the prices on everything and anything, and the energy!!!!! That's way to long for one energy!!! It's honestly annoying!!!!! Especially if someone I used up all there energy and went alone on that one event with the vines(keep forgetting what those thorny vines are called) not to mention it's a hassle, but then there's the gems, oh god the gems, there WAY to hard to get when doing this stuff! They should be easier since so much of it is used to get items!!!! VERY expensive items if I might add!!!!! It's really and truly annoying, please try and fix these things and give warnings before hand on such things

Love this game SM but have one complaint. So I absolutely love playing this game and I’m a third year now but my complaint is that if you’re in a class/quest and you close the game (not completely exit out but just go back to your Home Screen or something)while you’re waiting for energy to refill and then come back after a while, it’ll restart/reopen the app and it resets my “progress.” For example, I was in a herbology class and I closed out and went back to work while I waited for energy. When I came back, my energy was reset back to zero when it should’ve been full after the 2 hours I was gone, and my progress went back a star, I was at 4 stars and then it went back down to 3. Thankfully this all resets your time left in class to where it was when you left vs wasting your time. I’ve had this problem happen multiple times and it gets frustrating because then I’m just back to where I was when I left and forced to wait however long again for my energy to refill. I can’t even do other tasks because I have no energy and all the things you can click on each area to get energy are reset too so I can’t use them again because I already did. So yeah not a major deal, just an annoyance. Still love the game and will continue to keep playing. lol sorry this was so long, and probably didn’t make any sense but I explained the best I could 😅

I love this game, but…. Ok, I really do love this game. The only problems I have with it are the energy, and the empathy/knowledge/courage. The energy only has around 25 for you to start with and it takes four minutes per energy. You have to do missions that require energy fairly often, and so whenever you have to wait four minutes for one, I think that it is an excessive amount. The empathy/knowledge/courage thing I also have a problem with. I think that it is a really cool concept that you can kind of make your character have a personality based on the things you choose. However, whenever you are doing a mission where you have to have a certain number of courage or knowledge or empathy otherwise you can’t beat the level, it gets really annoying. I am currently on a part where you have to talk Rowan into doing something with you, and my empathy is at a ten, but my courage and knowledge are both at eights. I physically can’t beat this even if I get every question correct. This is because I have to have at least a ten on each of the traits. I have no problem with the ads seeing as how they don’t come on too often. If you have read this long review, thank you very much!! I DO think that this is a good game, it’s just those two things. Thanks again for taking the time to read this. 😁😁😁

Awesome!. I LOVE THIS GAME! It’s so much fun! I really like how we get to go to classes and everything, and I love how we get to have an enemy, because it’s not that fun without one. I love how we sometimes get to choose what our response is to some people! And the classrooms look so accurate! Also, I love the thing where you can press random things to get one extra energy; I often do that during classes. I also really like how you get to meet different people, and you actually get to meet Tonks, Bill Weasley, and Charlie Weasley! I have so many things that I like about the game, it’s so good! The only thing that I want to change is the energy system and the prices of things. I mean, 4 minutes for one energy bit?! And, some things that you accomplish raise the energy limit, so I’m at 29 right now, and the wait time for the whole thing to fill up is just way too much, so I try not to wait for it to fill completely during classes. But still, I would love to get energy faster. Also, the payment. Some things are just too expensive. For example, I really wanted this sweater, but I couldn’t get it because it was, what, 10,000 coins? And some other stuff cost more than 100 rubies! I really would like to get a pet faster! Anyway, the prices are really high, and I would like them to come down a bit. But other than that, this game is the best game I’ve ever played! 👍😂

Alright. Most of you’ll have seen the problem with the very limited energy system so I’ll just state some improvements that can be made that won’t throw away the concept of making money from these interactions. First off, you could add more quests early on that give the plus 1 energy capacity which I thought would be more frequent after the first given one :( . Or, you could speed up the energy reload timer just a bit. At the moment I believe it’s 3 minutes? I’m not entirely sure but it’s around there and that’s just for 1 energy. I can’t even finish 2 star missions with 28 energy and the timer for each mission is a bummer cause sometimes I just can’t get back on time with enough energy to finish and it resets leading to the grinding resetting. Story is intriguing. Gameplay is eh. The focus and spell casting is alright. The dueling sometimes feels weird[4 straight offensive for example(I kept choosing sneaky hoping for something else)]. I was kinda let down by not quiz to see where you fit in but I guess the internet has a bunch if I really wanted one. The competition for points was a bit disappointing for me because I’m at this moment have scored the most points for my team(ravenclaw) 2nd place atm and my team is still last ;(. Could you add something like top 10 contributors overall get something cause right now it feels like even if I continually get the most points my team will never make it due to less people.

PLEASE READ: Love this game but needs to change..... Okay so right now I’m a first year and everything is so amazing!!! I love everything about this game! The graphics are awesome! But.... this game needs some changes.... First the energy NEEDS to CHANGE ASAP! It’s horrible.... ONE ENERGY takes FOUR minutes REPLENISH?!?? Are you serious??? The full meter is 25 and in order to wait for 25 of the energies to replenish and that would be about 100 minutes of waiting which is hmm... about OVER an hour???!? That’s RIDICULOUS! Please get rid of the whole energy thing or at least reduce the time to wait for them to replenish! Besides the lessons or things to do uses energy only talking to people on there doesn’t. You should have something fun on the app to pass time or something that’ll give you energy. And if you have to “unlock” it in further years or chapters then that’s incredibly stupid. I think first years when you immediately first start out should be able to do quick mini games or activities or something to get energy. I understand that the pets can give you energy and I’m trying to save up but this is still ridiculous. Also I don’t know a lot about this app but if there’s only a few lessons and stuff for charms and potions then that’s very sad unless there’s more in year 2, year 3, etc. but if not plz add some more.... otherwise it doesn’t feel much like Hogwarts to me.

Great game! 💯 would recommend.. This game is super fun, the graphics are great, and the story is engaging. I love the characters and all the little details. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you will love this!! It’s perfect and is a truly magical game. (The rest of this review is a few suggestions for the creators of the game and contains a spoiler for year two of the game.) A few thing that you (as in the creators of the game) may want to consider is making people’s whereabouts match with the storyline. For example, when Ben is missing for a awhile he still appeared in the common room before I found him. Also, when Rowan got injured and was in the hospital wing she still appeared in potions class with me. Also, having more to interact with would be super fun! Like how certain objects can give you extra energy when you tap on them. I’m not asking for more object to give energy, but making all the paintings move or do something when you touch them and having the people around have short lines that they say when you touch them would add even more magic to the game. These aren’t problems, but adding those little things will really increase the experience. Also, I think you should think of more stories we can play though so that we can play this game again and again with different stories. Just a suggestion! Overall, well done! I love this game!! You guys did a great job!!

It’s great until.... This game is very fun for Harry Potter lovers or people who are interested in witchcraft and wizardry. I have had this game for a while and enjoy it thoroughly, but there are some things that I think would be better if changed. First off, the energy. It makes sense that you need energy to complete tasks, but what doesn’t make sense is how long it takes. It takes 4 minutes to get one energy, which doesn’t do much, in the case that you need 3-5 energy for most tasks. I think that it would be better 4 minutes for 3 energy or something like that, or they could have it 2 minutes for 1 energy,if that makes any sense. The second thing that I think should be changed is redownloading it. I got the game and enjoyed the game for a while, then stopped playing it, due to the issue previously discussed. I was going through apps that I haven’t played in a while and deleted this app. I later got it back because I kept seeing ads for it and decided to try it again. I let the game load up, and it automatically resumed where I was previously. I wish that it would restart your game, rather then resuming it. My reason why is because I forgot what was happening in the game, so I wanted to see, but I couldn’t. That was quite confusing. I also had chosen the wrong house previously and tried to do it again, but because of this issue, my house choice was permanent. Also, if you chose the wrong action, you can’t go back and change it.

I’m absolutely obsessed!!!🌺. This is an AMAZING game!!! I love it so much and literally play it everyday. Although it is very interactive and fun and makes you feel like your an actual student at Hogwarts, there are some things I wish you could do. First off it is a bit frustrating that for some story parts of the game you have to wait about 8 hours to do. Second is that it would be nice if you could pick when you get to do the special events, like host the student from Beauxons, or befriend a werewolf. I am almost done with my second year and realized that I might not get to do “ Christmas With The Weaslys “ The last thing is that I am very confused about when you get to learn lessons that aren’t required to move on with the story. I was thinking the other day maybe that’s what you learn in your 7th year. Because in the little book icon were you see the lessons you’ve learned, there is nothing for year 7. This just some feedback that I hope will make the game even more fun than it already is. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope this helps. I’d also like to add that I Love that you added the quittich option... I’m sorry if I spelled that wrong. I saw that there something new coming and I cannot wait to see what it is!!! I recommend this game to everyone, even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, and I think this game will make you one! 🤗

Love the game, but I have some suggestions. As a hardcore Potterhead, I love how Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery puts you into the world of Harry Potter! I absolutely love all the options and how they are always adding new customization options. With lots of hair colors, hair styles, clothing options, and dorm customizations, you can make the story YOUR own journey in the Wizarding World. I have a few ideas for upcoming updates. If you are uninterested in my update ideas, you don’t need to read the next paragraph. :D As I said, I have some ideas for future updates. 1: Friends. I know that Hogwarts Mystery already has computer generated characters that you can befriend, but I think it would be fun if you could befriend real people to do certain missions and events with. Me and my sister love to play this game but we want to play together sometimes. Like, in game together. 2: Energy. I think that you shouldn’t have to wait a full 4 minutes for 1 point of energy. Maybe like 1 or 2 minutes for 1 energy. In my opinion, it’s kinda ridiculous to have to wait a whole 4 minutes for 1 point of energy. And another thing is I think if you choose for your character to say something to keep them out of trouble (like telling a friend that they shouldn’t go somewhere) you could just walk away. Although this might mess with the way the story is so maybe not. Thanks for reading! Sorry it was so long.

Really Fun But. This game is great because the story is captivating and feels very interactive. Much more customization options now too since I last played. But my god is this game cash grab. Literally have to wait 4 minutes for 1 energy(because yes, games like this have a catch and in this case it’s an energy system). That wouldn’t normally be too bad except most tasks on average are 3. Some are 5. You may think “oh well that’s still not terrible, right? Right? Except yes it is. It builds up overtime and just feels so exhaustive to wait for energy to refill. Now see, most people would just play something else in the meantime while they wait for energy, except guess what? You can’t. If you take your eyes off this game, it’ll cost you. All activities have a time frame for completion. Either that or get the max stars you can (which requires a ton of energy). This is because if you don’t try and get max stars, not only do you not claim bonuses, but you also risk having a negative impact on the choices you make and thus, costing you your reputation later on in the game (which matters alot and you’ll see why). So overall, not terrible, but tweak the energy system (which I know you won’t do because I’ve seen literal hundreds of reviews requesting the same thing, only to not even get a response from you guys). (I mean c’mon. You can at least respond no instead of making poor customers wait for a dev response that’ll never happen).

Stability issues are still prevalent. I have written several reviews and contacted the developers multiple times for the connection errors in the game and i always get the same answer that i need to clear the cache. Clearing the cache does not improve my games stability. I know im not the only one with these issues because my friends that played the game have had the same issues and it was enough to make them stop playing because they could never get very far into the game before it became a storm of connection errors. I can play the game somewhat but what normally takes a few minutes to complete such as playing gobstones or meal with a friend takes me 20-30 minutes to complete because i have to go through the connection error message 30-40 times and i get maybe 10 seconds of connection before im back to verifying my connection to the game and this has been going on for well over a year now. I miss out on completing lots of events or getting to start them or making progress into the game because of these issues. And i am disappointed that the developers have been ignoring these issues for well over a year. There seems to be some sort of bug in the game that prevents a stabile connection for enjoyable playing and there seems to be no desire to fix it with each update that comes out it gets harder and harder for me to play because the connection error messages become so frequent that an hour of “playing” is really only 5 minutes of actual playing the game.

Uhhh... What?. This game is good. But it is a cashgrab and a tap and wait for hours on end. Yeah the personalities of the teachers are accurate, and the graphics are great. But this game needs to chill on the money and the 200 gems FOR A HOUSE COLORED SCARF is INSANE. And 6000 coins for weirdo glasses, normal glasses 200 GEMS TOO. Some of us want our character to be like us! Like the customizable American girl doll thing. I myself want my character to be with glasses and not have to wait until I’m like on the sixth year. The game is great and all but behind the mystical greatness, the prices on things are too much to handle! Please put the prices on stuff down! I am begging you! The energy is crazy too, four minutes for a single energy. I am pretty sure that 25 is the whole bar, the amount of time to fill up the whole thing is 100 minutes. That’s just for the first year that I have not passed yet. But 100 minutes is, you guessed it, more than an hour! So while you’re waiting for the bar to fill, you have time to get distracted and forget about it. Your two hours of waiting on a lesson is over and you have to do it once all over again. I’ve had this happen three or four times with the Winguardium Leviosa lesson with Flitwick. It frustrates me every time. So I have to do it again and when I get to about the third or fourth star, it’s all gone. THEN THE WAITING GAME STARTS AGAIN. The energy and the pricing ranges are my problems. The rest of the game is fine with me.

Energy is Lacking. I will say, for the most part this game is very well done and entertaining. I love the time limited side quests (although I suspect I won’t be doing them as much once I go back to working in an office instead of from home, unfortunately). However, the biggest pain point for me is the energy. When I started the game and I figured out that you would increase your max energy with flying classes, I was really excited. Since you start out with 25 energy, which was enough to get you through a one-hour class in one sitting, I was really looking forward to a time when I built up my max energy to 40 or so, in anticipation of being able to start doing three-hour events with only one sitting. Alas, this is not the case. Once you start increasing your max energy, the energy required to a task increases too. So now, my max energy is 38, and it takes me about 35 energy to do a one-hour task now instead of the 25ish that it did before. If the energy required increases too, then what on earth is the point in increasing your max energy at all? I get that you can go longer until your bar refills, but even that is a hindrance if you have to wait longer than you would have before to get the same amount of progress. Jam City, if you could please change the game to go back to the original energy requirements for tasks and make it actually worthwhile to build up max energy, I would be extremely grateful. (And please make it retroactive for players already well along in the game.)

Cooking, but the waiting time…. First of all, I want to say this game is so beautiful, everything looks so cool and the way they move and everything happens is so awesome. It makes me so happy, it makes me feel like i’m really at Hogwarts. But a major flaw is the wait time is literally crazy, for example I’ll have to wait 8 hours for one quest, i finish that one in 5 minutes then i have to wait another 8 hours, so ridiculous. Another thing is the charging time for the lightening bolts take so long. It takes four minutes just to recharge one and that it takes me forever to get full, mostly if I’m not on the app. The timing is insane because it’s equivalent to a work or school day without me being able to do one quest is way too over stretched. I think it takes way too long, it needs to be reduced to maybe even four hours, but that’s still a lot in my opinion. I don’t understand the point of making us wait so long. It makes me wanna stop playing the game because at some point I just forget about it and I wanna play the game for more than five minutes at a time and then wait another 8 hours then i get to do another five minutes I mean it’s just too much waiting. I’m definitely not a fan of this and I really hope it gets to be improved. I love this game it makes me feel like I’m part of the Hogwarts castle I really love it a lot and I wish the time was just reduced, it feels unnecessary. I wish the BEST for this game and I 100% recommend it to harry potter fans!

Fun game but also frustrating. The game is designed to make you purchase the items you need to complete the tasks and storyline. You can play it without purchasing, but it takes a phenomenal amount of time. You earn 1 health point every 4 minutes. However, it caps out at 30. When most of the tasks need at least 50 points, it can be cumbersome to do half a task and then wait for the other 20 health points to accumulate via time. And honestly, if you do purchase a bundle pack, it’s really only enough to last you one day. Who’s going to spend $20 or more bucks a day to ply this game? Not I. I’m half way through the 3rd year at this point. Not sure if I’ll just get tired and frustrated, but I sure as heck am NOT going to spend the amount of money it would take daily to complete all the tasks. Shame on you, greedy developers. Just so you know, I did purchase one of your bundles early on in the game, but it only lasted about 10 minutes of play time, so decided right then and there, I wasn’t going to do that again. I play video games on a game system that, sure, cost $60 bucks to buy the entire game, but I get hundred of hours of game play for that $60. The way your game is set up, I’d have to spend tenfold or more to get the same mount of game play. The three star is mostly about the necessity of in-app purchases, which I think is terrible. Whatever profit strategy your using must be working, but is isn’t working on me.

This game is super fun, but could use an couple adjustments. I have really enjoyed playing this game, it has a lot of cool things you can do to make the game more fun and has a variety of character customizations. However there are a few things that I feel drag down the experience. I have noticed that many people are mentioning how long it takes for energy to recharge. It’s also very similar with how expensive adopting mythical creatures. They cost so many books, and it is hard to get that many books without spending a lot of money. While this isn’t something that bothers me too much, it definitely seems a too long. The thing that bothers me the most are that some events are super hard to pass. I have noticed that with some tasks it is extremely hard to pass even if you meet the recommended level of courage, intelligence, and empathy. I’ve been struggling for a couple days trying to complete the full moon rising event, but have been stuck on the dual because even though I have the recommended stats I keep failing. I would be fine with this if it was because I picked the wrong move, but I have had a couple where I made the correct choices except for 1 and because of this I loose before I can get the opponent to half health. Since this is a chance thing like Rock Paper Scissors I feel like it is a bit too difficult. Especially since it costs 200 gold for each try.

Awesome, but... Ok so this game is amazing, it’s good for Harry Potter fans, and fun, but the reason I gave this a 4 star rating is because of two little reasons. 1: The energy. I’ve seen a lot of reviews complaining about this, and now I know why. 4 minutes?! That’s a little absurd. I’m just sitting on my couch waiting to get one energy, and I can’t even use it. Could you lower that down a little? Also, when I just can’t get anything done because of the energy, I need to wait 1 to 2 hours for the task thing to end. That gets annoying and I just exit the game and come back two hours later. That really gets annoying. I just want to play the game :/ 2: The gems. I can’t for the life of me get enough gems to buy anything. In the avatar store, you can buy things for coins, or for gems. I can’t, ever, get anything that I want from the store because all the things that I want, you need to have enough gems for. Also, when I get to finally earn gems, I only get like two or three. Anyway, that’s all from me, if you could fix the things I listed that would be great, but if not, I can deal with it. But for right now I’m going to keep this at 4 stars until you fix at least one of those things. Edit: So I’ve been playing this game more and I’ve noticed that you’ve added more events which get you more stuff, and I’m grateful for that. I’ll be changing this to a 5 star review. I absolutely LOVE this game, so great job.

Hogwarts Mystery Review. I love this game, I have it downloaded on multiple mobile devices and have a different Hogwarts house to experience different sides of the story. I’m very excited to play the new Hogwarts Legacy game when it releases as I have it pre-ordered and got excited when I found out I could link my house and wand to the new game using the official Wizarding world website. As far as this game goes, I love playing it but the wait for energy kills me and limits the amount of time I would like to complete quests in. As someone who works often I can’t complete quests as quickly as I’d like to within the time limits and often it times out before I’m able to complete the quest. This game is also real money focused on rewards, which is originally aimed for children, I could see where it’d be super easy to accidentally purchase something they probably shouldn’t be. I would enjoy playing this game better if it didn’t take so long for energy stores to replenish, and I could actually complete quests in a decent amount of time before times run out. Quests requiring 5 stars to complete with the amount of energy I have seems impossible with my changing schedule. I would recommend this game to any Hogwarts and Harry Potter fan, and continue to play it as it is my favorite mobile game. ~A proud Slytherin 💚🐍

I love this but there are a few problems.... This game is really good and I love it... but the are two problems I would like to mention. The first problem I have is the energy. I know there are plenty of reviews out there already mentioning the energy as a problem, but I want to mention it too. Four minutes is quite a long time to wait for just one energy... I think maybe one or two minutes would be better, or maybe one minute and thirty seconds. I am actually writing this review right now while I’m waiting for my energy to fill because I’m in the middle of learning a spell and I ran out of energy way to quickly and it takes too long to fill up again. You could also include maybe mini games that could earn you things like energy and coins or xp. The second problem I would like to mention is the spelling mistakes. Yes, I understand everybody spells things wrong every once in a while, I probably have some mistakes in this review, but the words that are spelled wrong are pretty much spelled wrong throughout the entire game. Some examples of the misspelled words are practice(in the game it is spelled as practise) and artifact(it is spelled as artefact in the game). I’m not a game maker or anything and I don’t know how hard it would be to go back and change the spelling, so I’m not going to ask for the spelling to be fixed unless it is too hard of a thing to fix. I really hope the energy gets changed though.

Best Harry Potter Game Ever! But.... So, by far this is the best Harry Potter game I have played, and I love graphics and attention to detail. The tasks are fun and for the most part the time limits allow you to advance. The storyline is interesting, and there are so many things to do! There is just one problem, don’t worry, it isn’t a glitch, it’s the energy. The energy takes 4 minutes each to recharge, and the energy limit you have is 28, taking a little over an hour for all your energy to recharge. This can be a problem during tasks, especially when they require all five stars. Personally, I think you should lower it down to 2 minutes, that way the energy can recharge faster, and we can finish the story! I know that with the energy limit, the company can earn more money, but I should think that they already get a lot from people spending money on rubies, so they can customize their wizard. Sorry if this assumption is wrong. Either way, this game is great, and I hope to see many awesome updates in the future! It would deeply appreciated if I got a reply, but if not that’s ok. (QUICK UPDATE: The Halloween Feast and the Lone Wolf adventures have inspired me to request an adventure. Can you make an adventure where it gives us a chance to become a werewolf? Kinda like the Animagus adventure with a limited time period and stuff. But it would be SO COOL if we could do that. I hope you will seriously consider this.)

Review Must Read. First off great game, great quality of work. Details are amazing and gameplay is great. Every feature in the game stands out well and goes a long way. It is unique to have the questing for stars to receive clothing items as they disappear after a few days which make them unique and rare to in-game items. The creators should add more items instead of just the typical clothing items. Maybe add new hairstyles or scarfs and hats, things like that. The energy consistency works fine because I play this game consistency. There are some good updates I like such as the new pet update. This would be useful in the game. The dorm looks very plain, graphics look good but there should be an option to customize your dorm and the character looks sad, so it would be good to change their expressions. An idea would be to expand the friendships past level 10 so people can experience new things. I appreciate the story plots as they get interesting every time you progress to the next cursed vaults. One thing to mention, the gem items don’t give much bonus points after buying your clothes and gold gives a lot more, considering gems are harder to receive (once every year). Keep with the updates, and I am looking forward to continuing my progress with the game. I recommend the game very much, and spread the word to people. Edit: The 8 hour quests are a bit too long in my opinion, I would say 5 hours is plenty.

I love it,but there needs to be changes. I was so excited when I got this game because I am a potter head I even showed my teacher ( also a potter head). And I was so close to getting to year two but I made a bad choice between two characters. Then I couldn’t do anything in the game since I didn’t have high enough attributes and I had already completed my classes. So I got rid of the game and I just recently downloaded it again and it gave me my same profile. I loved all of the things on my profile but I still couldn’t do anything so if you could make a thing to change your mind or something that could help me out I’d really appreciate it. I’d also like to say something about the Hagrid quests, I love Hagrid and all of the creatures but I can’t even afford the fairies because of how high the book price is. So if you could make the book prices a bit lower I would really appreciate it as well and I bet other people would too. I’d finally like to add the energy. It can take a long time to build up energy and when you earn energy and it above twenty six you can’t earn any more which isn’t quite fair since I would like to make sure I haven enough. And if you could make less of a timer for one energy it would make the game much more efficient. Thank if anybody is reading this I hope you take my ideas on to consideration have a lovely day, evening, or night.🙃

Glitches in the game and stingy with energy. I have the same complaint as everyone else in that, even at maxed out energy, you do not have enough energy to complete a task. Therefore, you have to wait four minutes for one energy. That amount of time is excessive to the point I wind up going to another game, or putting the iPad away and forgetting about it because I have to go to bed. I have made a purchase in the game. But, what I’ve noticed recently is that earned energy doesn’t show up in the total. For instance, I would have a full count of energy - 26/26 - but then, I would earn energy from watching a video or as rewards for completing tasks, and I would earn up to 3 energy, but the number never changed - it still showed 26/26. This has been going on for about two weeks now. Another thing that’s happening is when answering questions when having a meal with a friend in the great or or other places, I get the answer right but then get larger penalties that deduct what I just got for having answered correctly and then some. At the moment, I seem to be stuck in a never-ending loop of Flipendo. I’ve played it to completion several times, but then I’m just standing in the room with nothing to do and it never competes the task, it just tells me I have to finish and starts me all over again, which causes me to use up all my energy on the same task over and over again. Unfortunately for me, this game is becoming too frustrating to keep playing.

AMAZING GAME AM OBSESSED. i love this game so much and i am obsessed with it. i love how you can do side quests and be on the quidditch team and it has a different story than the main one and it doesn’t change what happens in the main story. the only thing i would change about the game is the amount of time you have to wait to get energy. four minutes is a lot of time to wait for ONE energy. if you’re gonna make the wait time that long, at least make the amount of time you can do the class or whatever it is you’re doing at the time. or make it like “wait four minutes and get two energy” or whatever. another thing is the waiting time for tasks. i’ll wait eight hours to do a task and i’ll do that task in five minutes and then have to wait another eight hours to do the next task. i know it’s good so that you don’t finish the game in a day or something but you wouldn’t even be able to anyways cause you have to wait four minutes to get energy. i love this game so much and have read all the harry potter books so i love that this game is set before the time of harry potter and that you’re in charlie weasleys year, (I LOVE IT SO MUCH CAUSE CHARLIE IS A BOSS) and i also love how you can do whatever you want to do and i just love this game so much. i DEFINITELY recommend getting this game. you won’t waste your time getting this. (and it’s free so it’s even better). i love this game so much. thank you for making it. whoever made this: you’re my hero.

Great Game! However has a couple problems. Hogwarts Mystery is such a fun, exiting game! I love the friends you make, challenges you must over come, and how well the developers made Hogwarts. In fact, Hogwarts looks a lot like it in the movies. Something I loved was how they made Peeves. It’s so cool! They did a really good job using the clues in the books to make peeves. One thing I wish could change is the energy bonuses. I dislike that you have to wait 4 whole minutes just to get 1 energy bonus. If you don’t want to wait, spend your gems. The thing is if you don’t have enough, you have to buy it. If you are like my friend, who’s parents won’t buy you anything. I totally understand! Otherwise, you should play this game. I also enjoyed that I was able to pick what house I was in. I’m a Hufflepuff so I was able to just pick Hufflepuff. My other friends who are in the other houses showed me each of the common rooms. They are spectacular!! In my opinion, my favorite common room is the Hufflepuff common room. It’s so cool! You’ll love it! You don’t have to pay very much for anything, Unless you want to support the game, witch in my opinion you should. I wish that you could pick your own friend in the beginning because Rowan is very nerdy and kinda ravenclaw ish. But anyways you should play this game!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for reading my whole review and yeah, maybe I’ll see your review

I really love the game but there is only two problems. OK I really love this Game it’s super Duper amazing🤩but there is two or three problems😳 so the first problem is when you choose the right or kind of right answer it just takes away some of your knowledge or shields😟 and it’s hard to do it because I can’t convince The girl who is worried about Ben☹️ and it’s kind of hard to convince her because it just takes away your stuff and it even takes away your progress and I don’t like that please change it and make sure it doesn’t take your progress away please🥺OK so now the second problem is why does everything have to be so expensive for diamonds😳😳 because I don’t know how to get diamonds except for watching videos🥲🥲🥲everything is so expensive and I don’t like it so can you please change that☺️☺️☺️ OK so now it’s the third problem the third problem is that every single time I get in it’s sometimes like child labels something yada yada yada and I have to re-join the game😕😕😕 and I hope you read this review and I love your game but first I have some suggestions can you please please please add more people to be friends with and I want like more action kind of I really like what you done but I want you to make it even more better so please read this review I would be so happy if you did this thank you☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Amazing but frustrating. I absolutely love this game. The detail behind the story and graphics and the accuracy is perfect. It’s so amazing seeing something I loved so much in my childhood and to this day come to life. That being said, I do wish there were more mini games that didn’t require energy. The amount of energy we receive is much too low for the amount needed to complete a task. By the time I’ve waited for my energy to refill my task has timed out and I have to start all over. I love the three mini games that allow you to gain a higher relationship with friends (the meal, gobstones, and butterbeer). I wish there were more opportunities like that, as it is fun if you know Harry Potter trivia, does not require energy, and high friendships is important later on in the game. If there is nowhere to put another game like this, then the time needed until you can have another meal with friends etc should be shorter. Right now it takes 9+ hours after playing once to play again. I also wish the tasks were more interactive as opposed to clicking on the screen until your energy runs out. I feel like it would be so much more fun if we could actually participate in the classes. I love the story and watching it progress, but I hate the energy system. Hopefully in future versions more mini games will be added or it will take less time for energy to replenish. Or ideally the energy will not be needed at all!

Great game, small improvement needed. I am a huge harry potter fan (have been since the first time i read the first book as a kid), its very accurate and detailed, the game works well and is actually incredibly designed. Im surprised this is a free game to be honest! But the energy system could use some tweaks! Doing lessons with hour timers and only being able to do a few activities in that one lesson seems counterintuitive as i can only have a playtime of say 5 minutes at a time if im focused on the lessons (note: i have only been playing a couple hours so maybe the increase of energy fixes this). Also, i feel like just clicking around on highlighted blue things until a meter fills up or you use all your energy is kind of a boring way to do things, maybe adding an activity to do or even a slight animation could help (similar to tracing the line when casting a spell, maybe you could do something like stir the cauldron when making a potion for example) Anyway, im sure you dont really wanna listen to one fan with 0 experience in making a game! great game though, love it

Great, but two things. This game is amazing, and is super fun to play. It is just energy takes so long to get. You have to wait FOUR MINUTES just for ONE PIECE OF ENERGY. It is so annoying! Especially when you have alot of classes or things like that to do. This game requires a ton of waiting. There are so many other ways to get energy, too, like the daily 20 extra energy and playing a quidditch match for one piece ( but you have to wait a long time in between the quidditch matches.) But it just isn’t enough! Since you have to do multiple reviewing classes to do a normal class, and you have to do a normal class to continue on with the story, it just takes forever. I also think there shouldn’t be so many tasks you have to use energy to do. It uses every excuse to give you an energy-using task, even if you just did one! I think it should be two minutes for one energy, or four minutes for two energy, at least. Also, books take too long to get. It says in third year you can craft books with parchment, which I’m sure will be better. But it takes a while to get to third year, and so far I haven’t managed to get much parchment. 40 red books for a bowtruckle, 30 red books for a fairy… you need to adopt these creatures to continue your side stories, but it takes too long. Overall, however, this is a great game.

Not enough energy. I loved the game, it’s charming and the graphics are good. Storyline is simple but fun and engaging. However it became clear to me after completing a couple of levels that I would need to buy energy & gems to continue playing at a rate that I would consider normal (15-20 minutes of game play at a time). I’ve never spent money on games, but I thought because I enjoyed it so much, I would purchase two $7.99 packs and it would last me for a few weeks - incorrect assumption on my part. It barely lasted me two tasks and was gone within about 5 minutes- what a waste and total rip off! There is no way that a player could play this game at a normal rate - you can barely spend 2 minutes with the game open before expending all of your energy. 1 task is more than your max energy level so you are forced to wait with the game open until your energy regenerates to complete the task. If you leave the game and forget to come back to it, the task restarts and you have to start the whole arduous process again. Great concept and storyline, but I don’t have $160 to drop on energy in order to get anywhere in the game. If be happy to make the odd purchase if I got more bang for my buck but to be honest, I’d rather put up with ads and have more free or unlimited energy. I won’t be coming back until this is fixed.

my opinion. this is such a great game but, it takes way too long for your energy to refill, I think it should be one minute or so for each energy. Also when you finish a certain task you have to wait hours for the next task, it’s not fun waiting, especially if your bored and this app is the app your on 24/7. I love the idea of this, and the characters and everything. thirdly, I know that it would’ve been better if you made the gems and coins etc cheaper, people aren’t willing to spend lots of money for energy or coins you’ll waste. Fourthly, I don’t think there should be anything else to collect other than coins and gems, I’ve been trying to get to 30 notebooks so I can adopt the fairy for hagrid but it’s so hard to if there are no ways to get note books, I’m only on chapter 2, year 2 and I’ve been trying for some time. Otherwise this game is amazing, it’s fun to play if you have patience, and if you don’t. I love the tasks, and everything else. I’ve realized you haven’t replied to ANY of these, so please try and take our reviews into consideration, I know it’s hard, but we’re just trying to help.

HELP ME lol. It’s a good game but energy gets in the way from the very start, like I would understand if things started slowing down/taking more time as the game progressed but I haven’t even been playing for 10mins and I’m stuck here waiting for my energy to recharge. also... PLEASE GIVE ME A WAY TO RESTART!!! I messed up one of my choices, cause I wasn’t paying enough attention, and now I’m stuck with it. I get that the developers probably don’t want people constantly restarting cause it would take away from the story and such, but seriously with games like these you NEED a way to restart or you will end up with people like me who really like the game but can’t enjoy it because of a stupid mistake made early on. If you are really concerned about people constantly restarting the game I would recommend adding a cool time that takes effect after the deletion of the previous game and prevents users from immediately restarting the game. If you are still concerned that people will restart too much make it so the cool time increases every time a player restarts (kind of like getting your iPhone password constantly wrong lol), either way making it completely impossible to restart is not the way to go cause honestly it is killing this game for me.

The game is okay but it needs improvements. The game is okay, but somethings that could be tweaked is the recharging speed of the energy bar, the time between each quest and many more. Firstly it takes so long for the energy bar to refill, I think that there should be an item that you could purchase to speed it up or just change how fast it recharges. I reckon the recharge speed should be 1 energy per minute. Secondly once you complete a quest you have to wait a few hours to do the next one. A fix to this could be that the quest is unlocked immediately. Thirdly if you don’t want to get the bonus stars in a quest you have to wait an hour or more depending on the task you choose. I think there should be and option where you could finish the quest early if you want to. Fourthly when you start a new less for a class, for example charms, to get to the next lesson you have to revise things that are pointless. Fifthly, there are just too many types of currencies, I think that the only currencies needed are gems and coins. When you’re buying pets or whatever you’re buying you need so many types of currencies to buy different things. Sixthly, I think the Quidditch aspect of the game should be more self controlled like FIFA where you can control you’re player with an analogue stick or buttons. Seventhly, I think the game should have more free roam to it, so you can explore Hogwarts for yourself. These are all my opinions on what should change.

Good...Needs improvement. First off I’d like to say this game is very enjoyable and entertaining. The objective is to attend Hogwarts, learn and meet new friends. Though how good this game is there are some problems that should be dealt with. The biggest problem in my opinion is the energy. At first the game is fun but soon all the energy is used and you have to wait half an hour so you can spend a minute playing which is crazy! Maybe the tasks should take less energy because talking to someone should not really take 5 energy points, even though it is a game. Furthermore the storyline is a bit basic and boring and you don’t get as much freedom as you’d like. Also maybe instead of the character finding one best friend and being stuck with them the character would be allowed to meet people on the train station or the Hogwarts Express. Also the characters need to have a personality. Additionally maybe the wand and house should be chosen using a quiz, like Pottermore does. Also the classes could be more realistic instead of just tracing a line and tapping random objects, it’s quite repetitive. All in all the game is fun and exciting but there are so many ways to make it better.

The game would be better if.... The game is probably my favourite IOS game at the moment. It is really fun to play and gives an even better insight into the harry potter universe. But, when doing missions, it might say that i only need one star but the mission goes for eight hours. There will be bonus stars to get if u want them. Now for some people, they are able to complete the mission quickly and there are no problems. But for players like me, i don’t always have the time to complete the mission. I will always get the one required star but there are more important missions for me to do. I think a good feature to add would be a button you can press to either speed up the mission time or end the mission time. This would make the game so much easier to play and more fun to complete missions. I also recommend adding more areas to explore in later years and one more free energy in Hogsmeade. These little things can make the game more enjoyable and fun to play. Overall, it is a great game that i hope is continually worked on by the developers . 4 stars

Really good but.... For years I’ve wanted a Harry Potter game that’s actually good and this game fits that description but there’s a few problems. One, energy is really hard to get, especially when trying to get all stars within a class as it takes 4 minutes to get a single energy. This makes the game really difficult to complete classes and gain spells. The game itself isn’t supposed to be necessarily easy but it is a problem that a lot of people agree on. The game would be so much better to play if there was more energy than just an average of 30 maybe 50-60 which would complete at least two classes. The time it takes to gain energy could probably be shortened because I’ve had classes within the game that I couldn’t finish because the energy took so long to gain. Four minutes is probably to long for a single energy and should be shortened down to maybe 2 monitors per energy as it is also hard to gain energy around Hogwarts when it’s very limited. Other than these problems the game is really good and explores all areas of Hogwarts and characters essential to the book series with fun tasks and mysteries to solve.

Easy 5 stars until now, Not Happy!!. This is the game to own if you love the world of magic and Harry Potter. The time stars can be very tedious to wait for and some times almost impossible to complete for special events with out putting money on it to skip through tough time restricted. The repetitive classes can be extremely boring just to get to the next level of quests, only a hand full of classes actually teach a new spell or piece of magic to use. MY BIGGEST issue is I cannot pass convincing a companion who has 2 more higher attributes than me and all the right answers are for that low attribute so you cannot pass. Therefore I apparently need to grind/farm over 2000 points and that’s just to reduce the point by one on the hope I can continue the quest, doesn’t really make sense, 1 point lower I could deal with just make sure all answers are right but if the game is set to defeat my every time until I grind for a month to just get closer to their score. I would say I’ll give up before then. Otherwise events, friends, special quests, animal company’s, quidditch and new spell classes can make for one extremely great Howgarts game. Most have but be prepared for the long haul.

Good game, needs some changes.. Primarily this is a single player experience, though the long repetitive grind makes it feel like more of a single player nightmare. The prices for everything are high, and the energy cost for quests is ridiculous, if this was a multiplayer experience it would make more sense, but these quests are to advance MY story, not other people’s. 4 minutes per energy, and I have 29 energy capacity so I have to wait over 1.5 hours for it to refill. It should be max 2 minutes, as for the duelling... it is HORRIBLE! Level up your stats to get stronger in duels, but all that is pointless because you just play rock, paper, scissors with a computer that reads what you’re about to choose 90% of the time. This has lead to many rage moments in the duelling club events (which requires me to get 25 wins to earn a spell) The duelling needs to be changed, this luck based rock, paper, scissors style is absolutely terrible and a very poor design choice. Don’t get me wrong, I like the game I enjoy progressing my character and learning new things, but the game needs to be heavily changed, it doesn’t need to be this hard or time consuming.

Tips and what NEEDS to be fixed. Everyone said it was hard to get energy and I have a few tips. Firstly it is easier to get energy around the castle (every floor has 1-2 energy)at the start this doesn’t help much but eventually it does! Also the energy limit goes up. Someone just started the game has a 25 energy limit but I have a 34 energy limit (I am in year 4). Plus there’s things like gobstones. Certain friends give you energy, at first you don’t get much. (five energy) If you keep increasing your friendship (this is easier to do with charisma) then you get better rewards. And although pets are expensive and events are hard they actually give you energy. it’s better to do the storyline first because sometimes you have to collect things from classes and it is 5 energy per star. BUT I have found myself watching about ten videos to get 3 energy and with certain videos I just don’t get the energy. I watch the videos again and again with no reward. I find this really frustrating especially when I need to go somewhere.

Please read this review! (IMPORTANT). Ok so this is for not just the developers but for other people too. First up, for people who want to get this, you should download it on a day where you have lots of things to do because it requires a lot of waiting and patience so I suggest you have other things to do before you get this. Now this is for the developers. I think it needs some improvements. Now I looked at all of the reviews and not one of them you had replied to, so please reply to this one. Firstly, I think that you shouldn’t have to wait so long for energy to restore I mean I had to wait so long and I get that you want to make people buy money in the game to get more energy so you can earn money and all, but I don’t know maybe give us more energy so it happens less often? Number two, my friend had the game and she said that it took her about 2 years to get to year 3! And I didn’t believe her so I got this myself and turns out, she was actually kinda right. It took me almost a year to get to the end of first grade! So what I’m saying is that you shouldn’t make it so hard that you ACTUALLY have to spend almost A WHOLE YEAR to get to another year. It’s not supposed to be exactly like real life if it was real. The whole point of the game is to have fun and do things that you normally couldn’t do in real life! So please I hope you take these ideas on board, and learn from them too in making new games. Kind regards, (to whom it may concern) Jwolf.....

Harry Potter:Hogwarts mystery. I enjoy playing this game a lot, I love the creatures in it, the duelling club, the meal with friend, the gobstones, the cursed vaults mystery, the classes and what you learn and the tasks you have to you magic in. However the only thing that is time consuming is waiting four minutes for your energy to gain one. I feel that the time should go down by 3 minutes or more to have a better game play. I do know that in your second year, if you run out of energy you can watch a advertisement to collect 3 energy. However what happened when you run out of those to. The highest class energy is 5 there for the advertisement deal would be for 5 instead of 3 to get the players past that point. I hope you will take what I have said and update the game as soon as possible. Also having to wait again. I’m sure nearly everyone reading this comment that has this game is annoyed why they can’t have some classes until year 6. Eg: DADA lessons start in I think it is year 5!! And having to wait until the time is up to do some of our tasks. I have had this game for over a month now and I am comfortable saying that is is a 5 out of 5 star game when it is updated to this vision. Thank you for reading this and pls download this app if you haven’t🙏👍😊🙃

Hogwarts a Mystery. I used to have this game and thought it would be fun however I was kinda disappointed because of the reasons below. 1- I wish that there wasn’t any energy because then you have to wait and wait or waste money on the games energy. 2- I wish you could actually chose what you do because 80% of the time I really dislike all of the options and I would never actually do those things. 3- I wish there was some kind of quiz that sorts your house instead of it just saying what house do you want to be in. 4- I wish you could have a club like on the Harry Potter candy crush game. 5- I wish you could chose your friends instead of the game choosing for you.I don’t like the friends I had to make. 6- The advertisements are not at all like what happens in the actual game if it was I would still be playing it. 7- Most of the activities are just boring, cast this spell, summon your broom. I did like the whole idea of a chose your own adventure in the Wizarding World but it didn’t live up to my excitement because of the reasons above. I really like the other Harry Potter games like the candy crush and wizards unite. I think this game could have been as good as if not better than these other games however I was very disappointed. I would recommend the other Harry Potter games however I would not recommend this one. I do understand some others like this game, maybe it’s just not for me.😕

Great but could use some work. Definitely needs to be an overhaul of their game. What you get in proportion to what you put out is minuscule, eg; rewards for classes, how long it takes to get any creature to max or friendship to 10. I understand the game is made to be played in intervals, but sometimes I play for 5 minutes after waiting 8 hours only to be told I have to wait 8 hours again. The developers didn’t put much thought into that cycle, it’s super frustrating when you’ve just finished a chapter or year and now you have to put it down again because there is literally nothing you can do... unless you want to spend real money. I’d also like to bring up how tedious it is to have to get NINE STARS just to unlock a new class... I had an abundance of extra energy (112) and used most of that getting to only 4 stars, it’s so excessive! I feel this should be capped at 6 as that’s already at least an 8 hour class and then a 1 hour on top of that, so over 100 energy just for that. Otherwise it’s really decent, but the waiting is annoying as it only seems to be there to create space for people to spend gems aka real money.

Almost there. The story in this is great and it really feels like a Hogwarts story. Each character is just like you would expect them to be. The Dueling is interesting though it does feel more like luck than skill. Unfortunately there are quite a few issues. Like how the only minigame is the duels. It’s a little boring just tapping. Gobstones is a proper game, I would love to play wizards chess, or fly on a broom. They can be basic if you really need to, it is a mobile game. If you are having trouble then just look at the DS Harry Potter games, those minigames are perfect. And the conversation distraction challenge can still work as that can change how difficult it is to play. And the energy system just doesn’t work, it runs out in the wrong spots and smashes the immersion and the fun. There are other ways to put microtransactions into a game then energy. There are premium currency items already. This is good game it just needs more and for some the things that are there to be streamlined. I hope you can improve this game because not everyone has the patience to get through this and they would be missing out.

Not even a game.. There is a basic story slowly presented to the player in the opening stages through monotonous dialogue. Often the ability to respond to characters in desirable ways in completely absent or locked behind pay walls. Once the dull and poorly written story begins to pick up you will find that in order to progress you will need to spend about $8 or wait maybe 30-40 minutes (later on it’s 2-3 hours). If you choose to wait instead of deleting the app right there you will continue the story (which involves tapping the screen repeatedly) only to find the current plot quickly dropped and back to the status quo. I would be very upset had I paid $8 for about three poorly written sentences. You will then continue for a brief while before meeting the exact same scenario where you must again pay money or wait for excessive periods. If you are a die hard potter fan who does not mind experiencing a lazy story for about $2 a sentence or about 4-5 brief sentences an hour increasing to 4-5 sentences a day, then you may enjoy this game with a bit of patience but for anyone else I’d recommend staying away. P.S. I also experienced a glitch where two Rowans were appearing in the same spot with their models clipping through each other during conversation. As bad as it was it was probably the most magical thing to occur during my time with the app.

Fleeting prizes. I really like playing this game, but it’s a little disappointing when I miss out on a timed event and lose the opportunity (forever?) to get clothing items. This has affected me a few times, again most recently. I spent the last full marks remaining first the whole time and in the last few hours (the task ended at roughly 4:30am for me) while I slept I was overtaken! I know this is the game’s way of trying to get me to buy and use gems to secure my victory and first place prize, but it was still disappointing to see that (as far as I know) I won’t ever have the opportunity to try to win the first place prize again. It was the only event so far that I’d actually already spent gems on to complete tiles, so I was pretty invested in getting the item and would gladly try again if it were to recirculate in the prizes of future events, but so far I’ve not seen any clothing prizes make a second round in the game. If these items came back in either a second round of events or as items you can buy for gems in the shop that would be really nice to see!

Harry Potter and the Blackout Courtyard. Not going to lie, I really enjoy this game, having played it since the week of launch. I like the story it always keeps me on my toes and with new lore about the Wizarding World. I like the mechanics, energy is fickle and the time sensitive story events are harsh (in a good way). The thing I can’t deal with is the random blackouts that shut down the app, the worst offender is the Clocktower Courtyard. It started happening around 3rd year, on the occasion the Clocktower Courtyard or when entering the Lower East Floor the app would crash. Back then no issue, I turn the game back on and no issue. But recently it’s been getting worse to the point where I can’t continue with the story. During this latest release I’ve been going through the Quidditch side quest. It’s been real fun but the game keeps crashing every so often. When I open the clothing menu, crash, at the very end of a Quidditch Friendly, crash. Now these crashes are stopping me from meeting with Penny in the Clocktower Courtyard due to this being the worst offender for these blackouts. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and turned my device on and off. I just want to progress with my Hogwarts story without the blackouts.

Review for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. I like and enjoy playing this game, the graphics are smooth, you can dress your character up, it’s not laggy and doesn’t glitch, you can adopt magical creatures, and of course go on an actually interesting main adventure. However you have to wait a while between each task or lesson, and your energy also runs out very quickly, and to gain energy you have to wait four minutes to gain one piece of energy, and seeing you need energy to complete lessons and most of the other tasks & adventures, it can be kind of frustrating. Another small thing that could be improved is maybe the option for the player to choose what they say a bit more? Usually you can only choose your opinion once per conversation. All in all, it’s a really great game, but I think there should be another way to earn energy, other than collecting small bits around the castle or watching ads. Other than that, I highly recommend this game, everything else about it is definitely 5 stars—it just takes waiting!

Love it buuuut..... I’m loving this game so much! To begin with it’s awesome and lots of choices that let you choose more of who you want to be as a character! BUT. The amount of energy that it actually takes your character just to complete any kind of task is a lot considering how little you actually get to begin with and how long it takes for you to be able to build the energy back up before finishing a task. Being able to buy energy with the coins that you earn from the tasks would be a much better idea instead of just using the gems as they are harder to acquire. I understand this is probably the ploy to keep people spending on the game as I’ve already spent a little myself but people will get sick of this fairly quickly and lose interest like I am already starting too because you have to wait hours to unlock certain tasks because you don’t want to have to pay for more gems or energy. Definitely either needs to be less energy used whilst performing tasks or a better way to make it back more quickly and I would be playing it more often!

Love this but.... I have had this for a day and honestly I love it! But I have a few tiny issues. The energy system is great but it takes too long to renew, maybe shorten the waiting time to 2 minutes instead of four? Also, I love the idea of being able to explore the castle, but it would be nice if we were able to move our characters instead of having them stand in the doorway and letting us scroll across to see the rest of the room. The last thing is the interaction with the castle and other players, it would be nice if say, we could see the bedrooms or quidditch pitch. It would also be nice if we could interact with other players, as in if we walked around the school and would see the other players characters and be able to talk to them or make friends with real people instead of NPCs, but maybe this will change when the game is out of Beta. Really the only issue was with the energy system, and I truly love this game. So keep up the good work! Edit: this would be so much better if it was first person and you could move around by yourself. Nobody likes a point and click with energy bars...

Do not take away friendship quiz points. I wish you wouldn't take away points for friendship quizzes even if I don't have enough courage or knowledge or empathy or stuff like that and GIVE more points for it I was about to get the final friendship diamond and I wasn't able to. This is such a waste of my coins and I've got about uh... I've so not got any I forgot how many I have. By the way I really like quidditch matches and I've completed the second house match of season three and it won't show any more quidditch quests. It says to complete more optional quidditch friendlies but even that doesn't do anything. I'm heading towards a very very exciting part of the actual story. The main bit I decided to write this review was don't take away friendship points and pretty please give like 5 points instead of only 2 points. I'm like super fed up with that. I'm using my mum's iPad. I downloaded this game when I was 6 years old because I love reading Harry Potter and I couldn't wait until I was 12 years old. DO NOT take away ANY friendship points. I will maybe never get to do progress anymore.

I had high expectations.. I’ve been hanging out for this game. From what I can remember the game was being marketed like Pokémon Go, interactive augmented reality, this is not that. I’ve only just got into Hogwarts, completed my first two classes when my first challenger appears. But what’s that? I don’t have enough “energy” to complete the challenge. I either have to spend real dollars to gain more energy or wait 4 minutes to gain 1 energy ball (I need more than 5 to finish this task). I wish it was more interactive than just clicking buttons until I’m told to stop. I like the wand movement aspect of creating charms, I hope there’s more freewill later on in the game. I want to keep playing but I hate that I have to wait to play or pay to play. Past experience, I forget about games where I have to wait to complete missions. I get bored and just can’t be bothered anymore. Hope this review gives you more insight. Graphics are good, story line seems alright, I wish the sorting was a bit bigger and took into consideration your choices before you got to Hogwarts and put you in a house (if you didn’t like it you could change). I’m still hoping it gets better.

A few problems.... I love this app, but it has a few problems. 1: When you have a special event on, it doesn’t give you enough time to complete it. I try every time to complete the animagus adventure, but it never lets you. 2: The energy takes too long to regenerate! It takes four minutes for one energy. It should be one or two minutes, not four. It makes it impossible to do anything! What is the point in downloading a adventure game, if all the adventures need energy, and the energy takes too long to load??!! 3: It’s really hard to get character trait points, and house points. The character trait points help you with everything, but are near impossible to get. Why??!! And house points, are barely existing. It’s impossible to get any. 4: It takes ages to load! Half the things will load, then glitch, then start again. Most people don’t have time to wait for ages for a game to load. 5: You can’t choose your own story. It sets up a background, and then the entire story. You just play along. I thought I got to choose my adventure, and do it WITH Harry Potter. We should get to choose our story, have a proper sorting (so a actual quiz that sorts us), and we should choose our friends and life. Please fix these problems.

A fun game. So far, the storyline seems pretty interesting. I cannot wait to experience the full story to see how it plays out. Improvements do need to be made however. For one, I believe that to get the most out of these kinds of apps, we should ideally be able to get atleast around 10 minutes of playtime before needing to wait for energy to refill. At the moment, you can barely get 30-60 seconds in before you are out of energy, unless you completed a task and dialogue occurs to continue the story. I believe the biggest problem in this regard though is having to wait hours just for a task or quest to be available. It seems overkill having to wait hours for a quest to unlock when we are already constantly waiting for our energy to refill. I believe that waiting times on quests are completely unnecessary and should be removed. Another small thing I’d like to add, is how our character acts. I’d like to see more personality options added to our character in the future, as I would prefer my character not to jump around/dance/laugh whenever he achieves something, as I view my character as a more serious one than a light hearted one. Perhaps something to consider.

Annoyed. I’ve been playing this game 24/7 for weeks now I wait every 4 minutes just for one “ point “ the “Energy boost” I constantly am on the app I leave it open I use my data and wifi and no matter what I do I’ll be almost finished the “ mission “ and it’ll say to try again even though I have 1 Star left to go.. it’s not fair because I was on the app and I was waiting and it keeps telling me to use so many gems to keep going and on the third time of doing the same thing over and over again wasting time & data I paid real money to get gems and they didn’t even come to me and all the time it says to re try when I’m on the app the whole time and leave the app open and I constantly wait and it just keeps telling me I failed basically and it’s annoying and I do want my money back Because this isn’t the first time I’ve used real money to buy gems and energy and I haven’t received it I really do like the game but I’m sick of it stuffing up. And glitching all the time I’m constantly checking if the 4 mins has gone down it just refreshes its self and makes me fail the “ challenge “ so to speak. I also used gems to get more energy 3 times and they never came. This sort of stuff has Happened a few times now. THIS GAME STOLE 30 DOLLARS FROM ME!! I have the receipts from my bank!

This Game is Beautiful. The day this released my Mum was on Facebook and showed me the trailer to this game. I have never been so quick and excited to get a Phone game in my life and the moment I opened the game I was immediately addicted to it wanting to know what happened to my Characters brother and when I met Penny I wish her to be a Romance option and so much more it’s a Good game but sadly it does have two things I dislike about the game 1. How long the energy takes to be created I guess you could say I wish it could be cut if you don’t wanna remove it which is like 5% likely you will do it but at least make it 1 or 2 minutes and 2. Sometimes the animation a little bit bad but can be fixed and I’m okay with it but anyway I’m year 4 chapter 5 waiting for next story moments more than halfway I think which is sad as I don’t want the game to end but anyway for anyone who does not know if to play it I recommend it and it’s free so if you don’t like it then at least you texted anyway good luck my Ravenclaws!!!

It’s fun but lacks. This game has so much potential, but I agree with the other users, less micro transactions will bring more people to the game. Potter heads who love the atmosphere that your game provides (like me) are turned off by the energy system. There’s too little energy for the tasks you set, and I feel the story is impeded by this. I’m taken out of it every time I run out of energy. Often I can’t complete a single ‘task’ because energy is too low and therefore I lose interest in what this app has to offer. Also. Big ask, but familiars would be awesome. Would appreciate it also if there was some sort of method to choosing out wands and being sorted into different houses (kinda like pottermore). Because while I’m happy to get the house I always wanted to be in, it feels a little underwhelming because none of my ‘what ifs’ have been answered! So some of quiz system maybe could be put in place to decide for us! If it’s complex and entertaining enough, it’ll feel like I earned the house I’ve been given!! (Also will make me identify with it a whole lot more in the future storyline too!) Otherwise, love the graphics, character design and layout. :)

Shameless, failed cash grab. I really wanted to love this game. There were so many things I would have been willing to overlook. But the rate at which you expend energy and are left waiting for your energy to recover... I can’t even get hooked to then want to spend the money. Like, if you’re going to make this game a shameless cash grab, then you need to at least let people get addicted before you start demanding their cash to refill energy. But less than 30mins after downloading this game I was already out of energy and had to wait hours before I could play again and make any progress. It seems the developers were just banking on the fanatic HP fans to dish out the cash no matter what. Yet with that logic, why not just make it a paid game? There are enough reviews here explaining how frustrating this game is and how little progress you can make without spending money, so I won’t go any more into that. But they should be ashamed of themselves for treating HP fans like this. I’d love to comment further on the positive qualities of the game, but after a few days of making the most minuscule amount of progress and spending hours waiting to regain energy, I’ve already given up and unfortunately haven’t been able to see the potential of this game.

WANT TO RESTART WITHOUT FACEBOOK!!!. I would like a major change to this whole game inpecticular resetting the game. I don't have a facebook account and its the only way to delete the game and for those kids who aren't allowed to login with their parents facebook account with have to deal with sticking with the same house. I want to have different pescreptives of how it would be like to be in Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and griffindor but the game won't allow you to restart. This is the only game i know that you have to log into facebook which not everybody has so that you can restart and even if you have the account to log into it is still very complex to go through the trouble of restarting. I have another really annoying problem and that is the energy , I started the game and i was annoyed the instent i ran out of energy in about a minute. I am really annoyed and probably lots of other people are annoyed that it only has the maximum amount of 24 energy. I would like if in the game had challenges or missions with magic to find a pet because that would be great and also that you could do it again and again. I also would like more of an access in the game so we could move around more like the game minecraft were you could be the person moving around hogwarts . I strongly recommend making these changes that i believe will make more people download this game.

Amazing but..... I am in love with this game and there’s only 3 things I don’t like about it . So one of them is more options like in the first year and u and that’s girl ( I forget how to spell her name ) get in to like a rivalry I Leon’s would want to fight her and stuff like that’s so I would love is there was more options . The second thing is that’s you have to wait between each lesson like I get that it earns money and stuff but could you please change that’s you don’t hav eco wait and make another way to earn money but putting poster around the school saying buy this or something like that because it l really annoys me how you have to wait. The 3rd thing is pets ...like I live how you get pets and I live animals the only thing is that’s the one that you can get for gems cost way to much maybe bring them down a bit (not heaps just a bit because I get it people will have to buy gem and that’s how u earn the money but yeah Maybe just put them on sale every once in a while like 30% off for 3 days or just bring them down a bit in general. Besides that I love this game and it one of my favourites by far . If you do read this ( whom ever made this game ) I love it please keep making games ( if possible) like this one

Incredible but.... This game is a whole lot of fun to play and tickles my fancy for a wizard themed RPG where you can explore Hogwarts in a different light. It’s fun and interesting to play yet the biggest draw back is the energy bar, I feel like every time I get into playing, I’m stopped in my tracks because I can’t do anything unless I pay $30 to buy gems and then in turn buy energy, which is just ridiculous. The momentum of the game is almost completely ruined every time I try to play because I’m constantly forced to wait to do things, not to mention I never remember what’s going on when I return and end up having to re-do a lot of things I’ve done before, just because I’ve missed one tap to get a star because I’ve run out of energy and put the game down and this forgotten all about it for hours. Then when I come back I don’t want to play anymore because I’ve lost all my progress. I’m sure this is an awesome and very fun game when you can sink $30 into it every 15 minutes just to play, but beyond that singular negative point, it’s a well made and interesting game

Great game, but a few tweaks needed. I have been playing this game for close to 6 months now, and am thoroughly enjoying it. However, I find a few things tedious and annoying. First of all, I love the aspect of magical beasts and that you can have creatures in the game and feed and such, but he notebooks are what ruins it. It takes an unbelievable amount of time to gather notebooks for creatures, I’ve been going 3 months straight to get 90 red notebooks for the Abraxen, and am on around 67 at the moment. There needs to be some other way to get notebooks rather than events and lucky rewards. Like, the events require you to be in the top 3 for some golden notebooks, but that’s unrealistic for casual players or even some of us more dedicated players. My second and more annoying point is duelling. I HATE duelling because it is entirely luck based and requires no skill on either side. It tells me to improve my chances by getting higher stats, yet all that does is increase the potential damage to the enemy. I feel it should assist with bringing it to more skill based matches rather than luck of the draw rock, paper, scissors. My final point is that the pets, although an amazing feature, also take too long to grind for. I have been going for the Owl pet (320 gems) for about the same time as my Abraxen, and I only have 174 gems. I don’t want to spend money to buy in game currency and want to do it legitimately, but the price is still too high for these pets. Thanks

Looks fantastic. This game looks absolutely fantastic, wonderful creatures, the animations look smooth and it doesn’t take much time to download-5 minutes at the max. I would definitely recommend this game to a Harry Potter fan, it’s probably the no.1 game for potterheads. True, it takes a few minutes to earn energy, but that doesn’t mean the game itself isn’t worth it. The game is super cool, the dueling and classes are epic! This is a number 1 go-to game for all those potterheads out there, it would be such a shame if you missed out of in. Just one thing though, maybe change the game so we have to wait eg. 1-2 mins for one energy, or play a game (candy crush or dueling) to get a (or more) energy, because it does take quite a long time to wait—And trust me, spending 30 minutes waiting for the energy bar to refill is BORING. Great game, tweak a few things and it’ll be even better. Overall, this game is very fun and addictive and includes challenges and is just epic. I would definitely recommend. Best Harry Potter game I’ve ever played. I recommend playing for 10-30mins daily, because it just gets too boring to wait for the energy bar to refill. Great game. Luv it.

I love the game but..... I enjoy the game and I play it all the time when I’m just sitting around but I often play it in a rushing manner and have a habit of just spam tapping to use my energy, so when I run out and don’t pay attention, I accidently spend gems, WHEN I DON’T WANT TO, on energy because there’s no loading page or confirmation. Not everyone has the urge to by energy when they run out. I don’t mind the grinding, and I like to save up for clothes and whatnot considering that’s the only customisation part of the game. I’ve lost >200 gems because I’ve ACCIDENTALLY bought energy them. I know it’s not difficult to earn them, but to lose it so easily is so heartbreaking. I think I’d love it more if this functionality was altered. I’m becoming disheartened with this game because I keep losing gems when I don’t want to. Also, there’s a glitch, when if you get a the pop up to buy energy, and you leave the app and come back, the transaction is automatic and it uses your gems for the energy regardless of whether you clicked to buy it or not, again, I lost a hell lot of gems from this glitch, probably another 100+ on top of what I accidentally lost. I would love for the gems to return, but I feel like that’s asking for too much, so I hoped you’d at least just fix the sensitivity and glitch about spending gems But otherwise, keep up the good work 👍🏻

Pretty Good. This game was perfect for me because as I loved Harry Potter. The one advantage I have is that I usually play other games instead of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This game is a waiting game which means I can wait by reading books and so on. The only reason I made it a 4 star is because you can only get coins from events or you have to buy them. The gobstones, the meals and the butter beer. They cost so much coins. Also a lot of people are complaining about waiting for a energy is so long so if you make it around 3min people will still sometimes have to use gems. I am in year 3 chapter nine and that’s when I discovered quidditch story. I have only been playing the quidditch and side quests and I still haven’t finished every one but my point is how you play quidditch. I think you should let your character control your team like fifa mobile where you can move your players and stuff. I hope you make this happen but it is still a very good game

Disappointed. I was looking forward to this game and was excited to play it. Though now I am disappointed. It would not let me enter my name into the game and would not tell me why. I entered a different name and it was sad when they had a different name on my acceptance letter after it being a childhood dream to see mine on it for so long. While the graphics and customisable features are quite good, there are some other disappointing aspects to the game. I would have preferred more of a quiz to get sorted instead of just picking the house you like best. Though the most annoying feature is the ‘energy’. Every time I play, it requires me to use energy to complete an activity. You run out very, very quickly and it asks you spend money on in app purchases to get more or I have to wait insane lengths of time to be able to do anything. The price for energy is very high and you don’t get very much for what you spend. There are no other activities I can play in the app while I wait for my energy to come back. The game is very persistent for you to spend money on more energy. Trying to complete any task is such a pain. I have had to wait for my energy to come back at least three times while learning to summon a broom. I definitely am fed up with the game and will most likely stop playing it unless there is an update to fix it. It’s quite repetitive and annoying, not as much fun as I would have liked and hoped for. At least it was free in the App Store.

Awesome game!😊. Awesome game, I started playing and it’s really good, I am wondering, does every one who plays have a brother or sister who got expelled from hogwarts? Because I do and every one is mean about it. Only problem is energy, it is so hard to get and all the tasks need it but otherwise it’s a great game, so nice to see your name on a acceptance letter.😊😀 But it does really need improvement on energy though and it’s like, what the heck? Why do I have to wait for HOURS! To get energy?! I get that the developers need money from the game but it would be so much more fun if energy was free or at least one or two gems rather then having to pay heaps of gems or waste your time waiting. I totally agree with all the other players complaining about this game, all we want is to be part of the Harry Potter world but the developers are ruining it! I have not experienced any of the glitches or black outs the other players are saying happens but I am only on chapter 4, year one and I have no doubt that soon I will start getting faults in my app too. So developers, please make some MAJOR changes!

Mindlessly enjoyable, but too freemium. Don’t bother unless you want to pay a fortune to pay it playable. The game is enjoyable enough if you have a sentimental connection to the world and you want to turn your brain off a bit, but it’s way too money hungry. I am super happy for a free game like this to include even a lot of wait time. But what is awful here is that sometimes you literally can’t finish an activity without paying, unless you carefully pay attention to the time you come back hours later. For example I am doing wingardium leviosa lesson now and I’ve used all my free energy to get 3/5 stars done, got all the hidden energies I can and I’m still not on 4/5 stars. I only have 3 hours to finish this activity and after that all my energy is wasted - why both?? Why now make me wait an hour or so for enough energy to accumulate where I have to come back to the game, but if I live my life like a normal person I’ll be too late and lose the whole shebang anyway?? I happy to wait hours if I don’t pay for the next activity but it’s completely ridiculous to not be able to reasonably complete a required activity within the bounds of what’s free. Particularly when paying is so expensive.

Very good only 1 annoyance. I am very much enjoying this piece of work. Immersed in the Hogwarts experience, it’s quite a joy. I dislike only one thing really. As you tap through tasks you inadvertently hit the buy energy using gems and the okay button and annoyingly spend your hard earned gems on energy. Please make it more difficult to do this as I have spent 55gems about 4 times when I would rather have just left game a while and patiently returned. It’s very annoying. I dislike wasting my gems and would have about 300 now if not for the stupid placement of the renew energy and the okay - same spot mid screen where you’re clicking activities. Maybe a caution to say are you sure and the okay is not in the same place ? It’s not too hard unless you would prefer to annoy your players and trick them out of their gems. Could be the case. Otherwise a very credible and enjoyable game . 👍🏽 Changed my review to 5 stars . Either it’s harder to do or I have started tapping the side away from the buy energy box. Great game . Now a third year . 🌹

Hogwarts Mystery Review. This game needs a lot of improvements as at this point I have been completely put off playing it. I was completing a class which involves repeatedly clicking the different prompts and using energy, and in the process of doing so accidentally used half of my gems to get more energy due the message that appears when you run out (something that I did not desire to do at all and an absolute waste of the gems I had saved). There was no confirmation message making sure that this was what I wanted to do and therefore no safeguards to stop this. The message also takes up so much of the screen that I’m surprised I didn’t accidentally click it before while slogging through one of these classes which are so uninteresting that there is no reason not to just click as fast as you can. Imagine if I had paid real money to buy those gems and then lost them in that way I would feel completely ripped off. It is obvious that this system has been put into place to allow for these situations to happen which is really messed up and malicious against consumers. On top of this all the activities available in this game are bland and repetitive and basically encourage you to buy more gems with the amount of energy it takes to complete them and the unnecessarily long time it takes to regenerate energy and have new missions available. At this stage I would not recommend this game to anyone as I would not want them subject to such a 1 dimensional and money hungry game.

Really good game, but 2 faults. HP:HM is a really good game and I love it. But there are 2 faults. Say you go to one of the classes, and your doing the set tasks it tells you and spending your energy to finish class, but when you run out of energy there are ADS you have to watch for 3+ energy and when you watch say 4+ ads then you can’t watch them anymore! So then you have to wait four minutes! To get only 1+ energy! So your just waisting all this time just to finish one class! The second one is that say you’ve finished a quest then you want to go on the other one you press the scroll on the side of your screen and look at the quests catalogue and is expecting to be able to go do the quest straight away, but instead it says you either have to spend 100 or less diamonds just to do this quest, but the second annoying option is you have to wait like 7 hours to do the quest! So annoying. And if you wanted more gems you can spend actual money on the game to get more gems, but also there is a little button on the bottom right with some sort of currency like pet food, coins and gems, and of course you have to watch an AD to get the currency on the front cover. So annoying. But I still do recommend this game to family and friends it is so fun I have just finished the first year! Highly recommend this game!

Amazing Game! Needs a Few Improvements.... Overall, This game is amazing! I love the details in the characters and how you can customise them to your content. I would totally recommend this to anyone who’s looking for something interesting to play. Even though I’m not negative towards the game it needs a couple of improvements. The first one is maybe instead of getting to pick your own Hogwarts house, you could complete a short quiz. Now, it doesn’t have to be elaborate, but just one where they can just find out which house suits them best. The second improvement is the energy, I have heard a lot of complaints about the time length for one energy. I would recommend you shorten the time length and extend the maximum limit you can have to approximately 40. Then users can fully enjoy their time on the app without having to wait so much time until their energy is full. This is so that users don’t spend their time on another game and get detached. To be honest, this game is spectacular! Like I said the characters are so creative, and I love how it is just based of the original Harry Potter story which so many people know. Thanks for reading my response and I hope you take my feed back well. 👍😁

Excellent Game :). First of all, I love the game, being a Harry Potter fanatic - loving both the books and the movies - being able to play this game really brings a fan’s imagination to life. This game does require a lot of patience between being able to continue with quests at certain points, and waiting for your energy bar to fill up - having to wait 4 minutes for a singular energy. Even though the wait time feels like a while, there are still activities you are able to do to be able to gain some energy again, and adding this wait to be able to continue with quests and gaining energy adds a more realistic approach to the game. I thoroughly enjoy this aspect of the game because it is based around a large storyline as well as being a student going through the sevens years at Hogwarts. If there was not this wait, it would feel almost pointless to play such a game that has so much to it - in regards to friendships, going through each year, the storyline and quests - if was any shorter. I’ve only had the game for a couple of weeks and have managed to get to my third year, so even though there is a wait you’re still able to have a steady progress through the game (noting that I have also not spent real money or the gems in the game to speed up any progress). Really, this is game is just amazing and quite relaxing. The dialogue gets me wanting to actually read it and immerse myself in the game and the characters and storyline.

It’s amazing but one thing…. I absolutely love this game, it’s full of true things about the amazing world of Hogwarts and all the spells and potions are precise except for flipendo, it’s the most powerful spells in your early years but I don’t think in exists in real wizarding world, apologies if I’m wrong. My big doubt about this is that there is too much waiting for the energy to fill up. Say your energy’s max is 29, it would take about a hundred minutes to full back up. I think the game developers should add a daily reward because research (my best friends but actual research as well ) shows that daily rewards in games have players turn on the game every day to receive the rewards, then they think “I’ll just look around for five minutes” and then they see the quest that needs to be done and all of a sudden, their playing for an hour! Anyway, this game is so amazing and if you love the Wizarding World as much as I do, this is the game for you. One more thing I just want to put it out there, Griffindore is overrated. And before you doubt me, think why you love Griffindore so much, are they really as great as they seem? Thank You!!!

Great Game but needs some tweaks. So I just started playing this game today and I absolutely loved it until, I got to the part where I’m stuck with the devil’s snare and I need to use the lumos charm to stop it. So I start the task and press on all the glowing objects that are needed to be pressed and use my energy. Then, after only doing three ones it says that I failed, every time this has happened to me. I’ve even looked it up to watch a walkthrough and they have no trouble like me. So I don’t know if it’s just a bug or what because I’m unable to finish the task because the app is saying I only got 2 and 1/2 stars out of five because it isn’t letting me finish it. So please fix this up! Or otherwise I won’t be able to play the game and I’d be really upset because just the start seems amazing with the storyline! Also one other thing can you add more customisations to your character, such as more hair options and colours. Since I have red hair and there isn’t really a good red hair option and there isn’t a hairstyle that looks like mine. Anyways overall the game is great! Keep up the good work but if possible, please fix these things!

Not worth it. This is an adequate free game, however I would have rather paid for a proper Harry Potter game that wasn’t an app with better graphics, storyline, gameplay, and consequence-based/‘choose your own adventure’ model that they aimed for and failed to achieve. The choices aren’t choices, and therefore makes that element of the game irrelevant. The challenges and questions aren’t difficult or engaging enough to pull focus. However the WORST part of the game is the energy. The game would be so much more successful without using energy. You can use all your energy in less than two minutes and then need to wait another three hours to get it all back. It’s not worth it. I would have rather harder challenges and tasks that take time and skill instead of energy. The app would have functioned so much better with that. Also, there’s a need to get rid of the “choices” which is just an illusion since the storyline is 2-dimensional and already determined, and the storyline feels like a tweenagers fan fiction/some five minute discussion no one cared about. Your time is much better spent on other endeavours. Buy a different game.

Wait for hours to “play” for minutes. While the graphics are lovely, and the story isn’t terrible, there’s not much playing in this game. You need energy (where you build 1 energy per 4mins near the start of the game, and I’ve heard it only slows down as the game progresses) to “play” the game, where playing means you need to complete tasks, which means you tap a highlighted item in the room, it says how much energy you require, and so you tap the bar to spend energy. There’s no games, or skills. You gain energy through time, or buy purchasing gems (which are ridiculously expensive). Without energy the game is at standstill. Tasks that need to be completed take large amounts of energy (for a reasonably simple one it can be 25 energy) and you have limited time (such as an hour) to do the task. So basically you need to wait for your energy to be completely replaced (100mins), to click a bar for a few seconds, to learn 3 lines of story, and then you need to wait until your energy is replenished again. Or you can pay hundreds of dollars to play this game that actually has no games in it. And yeah, you just choose your house, no quiz. It’s about the least interactive game I have ever encountered, and one of the most expensive.

Make energy cycle through faster.. I understand that you need to make money, but all of us HP fans have been waiting a year plus for this game!!! Hopefully an update will fix this and I’ll fix my review.

Very disapointing. I give it one star. For the Harry Potter universe, the characterd and the music. The game is soooooo boring. Click here. Now here. Now here. Now you’ve got no more energy! Wanna buy more? Then wait, so you can continu clicking where we are telling you. Can’t believe i have waited for almost a year for such a bad game

I CANT BELIEVE HOW HIGH THE RATINGS ARE FOR THIS GAME!!. this game is obviously a huge cash grab. they’re exploiting the fans of the Harry Potter franchise by making you pay for energy points which are essential to doing literally anything in the game.

Shameless cash grab. You don’t get much energy compared to the amount of energy required for each task. It’s also impossible to get past the vine part without spending money. BS AND SHAMELESS CASH GRAB

Greedy app developers shame on you!!!. This app is terrible when you don’t want to make any in app purchases. The wait time for energy refills is ridiculous. It’s impossible to enjoy the game unless you’re able to spend exorbitant amounts of money. Greedy app developers should be ashamed of themselves for trying to extort fans of these books, most of whom are children. It’s really disgusting.

Time. Awesome game I love it so much this game is my favourite I just wish that there was no such thing as energy and that you have to wait 7 hours just so that you can start a task but it’s a really good game

Meh. Fun game. But it expects you to pay quite a bit of money to keep up. I mean the diamonds go very quickly, and there’s not very many ways to be rewarded with diamonds or energy. Not very good

Boring and disappointing. Honestly you should just throw the whole energy system out the window, like you barely ever get to play and if you do you have to be willing to pay. There’s not much there and everything to do basically requires money and it’s not even that worth it, you are just tapping stuff and then you run out of energy super fast. There’s no freedom in the game and I just wish you could wander the castle and find secrets and interact with other players and I’m also not super into the story, I wish you could create your own story in a way but I also understand that it could be quite difficult. I’m just really disappointed.

Very addictive absolutely fabulous game. After having a few issues I pleasantly found that they do read your reviews and help you with any issues you may be having this impressed me a lot as I hadn’t been having a lot of success with customer support. Come to find out that most of the issues are with iTunes and not them and one I thought I didn’t receive an outfit from a quest which at first I didn’t but didn’t realize they had promptly fixed it as the outfit looked quite different from the picture haha. There was one last issue where because of a glitch they had to stop the quest and redo it later once fixed losing all the gems I had spent. After contacting them they gave me only half of the gems I spent back. Decided to just let it go. Love this app and am very addicted to it I just can’t seem to stop playing it. It actually makes you feel part of the Hogswarth world. Other than having to wait 4mins for 1 energy or approx. 90 mins to fill your health or buy gems which are very expensive.I myself have spent hundreds of dollars on the gems. A the game is totally free though so this really is optional and there are opportunities throughout the game to earn the gems. Would be much better if energy time was cut in time. Also definitely needs work on the female clothing they are quite hideous haha although you can get the opportunity to win some gorgeous outfits during the house pride events and such. You can buy some with gems but I find too pricey and would rather use mine on pets and energy which is expensive enough. I love the side quests which prolongs each chapter (especially when you are waiting for the new chapter releases) and you often get some cool rewards for it. The magizoology is an absolute brilliant idea you earn different types of books and once you have enough you get to adopt and take care of many amazing creatures. It’s like a game inside a game. To earn books you just play the certain events like for example house pride and eventually you will earn enough. Since they are constantly running these events you can easily achieve the books needed to adopt the creature you want just be patient hehe although there are bugs and things that need to be worked out I do think we all have to remind ourselves myself included haha it is Beta and they are still working out the kinks and getting feedback to help make it better yet. I think they have done an amazing job so far and am quite impressed at what they have done here. I have never seen anything like it. It is like reading a good book where you visualize yourself in the book with them only in this game you can really feel like you are. The graphics and interactions are absolutely amazing. If you haven’t tried this game you must or you’ll be missing out on a unique expirence you can’t find anywhere else. I am excited to see what other movies you will be developing I heard next is “frozen” not sure if it’s just a thought right now or in the works but I am a big kid at heart and would love it hehe. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to creating such an amazing game and for hearing and responding to your fans it means a lot to us to be heard 💕💕💕

Bug. I am at the last scene of the first year, and when I open it, it has a bug and it sent me off the game. Fix that now I cannot play.

Ehhh. I like the game but can you make it so you can go around Hogwarts instead of just pressing things

Energy 👎. So much time wasted waiting for energy to get back up. Sometimes you miss certain events. Everything you do is energy. If you don’t have enough time to do the event, or enough energy than you’re missing out on a good portion of the story. Unless you choose to spend 137 dollars on 1000 energy, which by the way, doesn’t last long. Seriously, I went through 1000 energy in a couple of hours. But I guess what it all comes down to is money. I was in love with this game, truly. I LOVE everything HP. But this game just lost all its charm and fun. I’m disappointed. But I do get something out of this, they will no longer be getting anymore of my money. So it’s still a positive, so thank you for the fun while it lasted.

Please fix it. It is fun but it will not let me go to the dining hall at the end of year 1.

Surprisingly Has Soul. Don't be quick to judge. Many reviews are one stars with lots of hate for the energy system. I think people are overlooking the fact that the game is designed around the energy system, it's not just some unnecessary cash grab. If you had infinite energy, you would essentially be reading stories for a few hours and then be done forever. When you have to wait not only are you forced to take time from your phone, achievements feel better because you have to be patient to get them. You can clear the entire game successfully without paying money. I get the season pass every month because I earn plenty more than that many gems every month. There are many opportunities to earn anything you want in this game with the exception of some exclusive cosmetics you can pay for. The energy system is just fine, I like it. The game revolves around it well. I enjoy slowly getting to develop narratives about magic mishaps, monsters, quidditch, and relationships over many months. I think this addition to the various Harry Potter games is one of the best. Props to the Jam City support staff for having a team that consistently replies to all issues, and is truly helpful in resolving issues. It's rare to find that. There were many issues I had they fixed right away. Out of maybe 8 issues over much time there was only one issue where I was not compensated (only for about 50 lost energy). The other 7 issues they fixed, and fixed quickly. That's about a 85% resolution rate. They could throw money at this game to make some better fight mechanics and added PVP systems, they could make difficulty settings for those who prefer a challenge, they could make the navigation a little smoother. All of that aside, for what it is, a simple app with lots of heart to slowly discover, I'll say 7.5/10 TL:DR - The game is enjoyable, the way it is split up fits well, the energy system is great for the player and developers. The support staff are quick and reliable. There could be some improvements, but for a free game it has a lot to offer. It's not the content-lacking-greed-filled-cash-monster the other reviewers claim it to be.

Predatory Micro Transactions. Decided to play this after it popped up on the App Store, it was good till you get to a portion of the game where you either have to wait or may real money for in app purchases. The game revolves around a currency called “Energy”as a way to limit what you can do in the game. Every action(and I mean EVERY action)costs energy and depending on the action it can take anywhere from 1-6 energy depending. I played about 30 minutes in and after completing 2 classes it then asked if if I was enjoying the game to dismiss it I said yes and continued. Immediately after you are put in a room the requires you to use a large amount of energy. At one point in this event it even shows your Avatar grabbed by the throat with devils snare(suffocates whatever it touches). By that time you are usually out of energy so you either wait to gain energy naturally or by spending real money while in back ground your character gets choked out. Needless to say I’m not gonna spend money on the game so I’ll wait to see what happens if I fail then I’m uninstalling the game. Games like this should really stop doing this where they make you burn through a made up currency just to stick you in a situation that requires you to spend large amounts of it, and then have the galls to offer you a pass by spending money. This is very much predatory and I can see lots of people getting sucked in by a company using a much loved franchise.

GREAT GAME. I have loved Harry Potter for so long and now I can finally play it on this muggle device thanks game creato!

Won’t stop crashing. It won’t let me get past the year 2 introduction. It crashes everytime. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and it’s still unplayable.

The excitement of Harry Potter returns. This is a must have for Potter fans. Beautiful graphics and game play! Just started playing and so far I am really liking it. Only problem I have is game play is very short until you run out of energy. Would be nice to see a way to collect some energy. It’s a on and off interest when having to wait all the time and jump to another game that I can smoothly play. This fees like lag time. Not everyone is made of money unfortunately.

Fun game but…. I enjoyed this game but the energy is super annoying ended up deleting it

Energy 👎. The reason I did not give this game 5 stars is because (if u have not guessed it already) energy. I really do not understand the point of waiting five minutes for one out of twenty five energy pieces. I don't want to delete the game because other wise it’s awesome. Here are some suggestions I came up with to make the game better without the creators losing money: Make something to buy that give u unlimited energy forever! Every time we have to wait for energy give us more then just 1 Make the wait faster (ex. 2 minutes not 5 minutes) PLEASE PLEASE consider this because I am a huge Harry Potter fan and I love the other great qualities of this game. ( please say this is helpful so creators will see)

Force to spend gems. Although it is free, you can never complete limited time side quests without spending gems. When you have 3 hours left, next task starts 4 hours later. If you want to complete that side quests, you have to spend gems. I deleted the app before and recently I re-uploaded it. Now I remember why I deleted. It is so annoying.

Wish i could rate lower. Is a terrible game that gets boring very quick because you have to click here click there and i think the classes are my least favourite because they cost so much energy, and thats another thing the energy, you never have enough and if you dont its like would you like to spend 56 gems which we obviously dont have, wait an hour or i guess we could buy some with our money, is that the idea?

Listen to the customers. There have been complaints about the dumbass energy system since the game came out but still nothing has been done, please do something about this.

UGH...... All I can say is that as a Harry Potter fan I’m EXTREMELY disappointed! This game looked okay, but once I got it I realized that it was a waste of time. Energy is my first complaint, if you want to do something, you need energy, Want to do a lesson? ENERGY! Want to look for creature food? ENERGY! Is a giant plant strangling you? ENERGY! And it’s not like you need one, or two, or even ten pieces of energy, for each of these situations, you need more than you have available! Tap-tap-Tap-tap.... oh no I used all my energy... wait 4 minutes for just one?!? Nah-I’ll buy some. I know the game creators need money but seriously? All you do is tap and buy... tap and wait... at least they added ads to watch to get 3 pieces of energy! Please say that this is helpful so the game creators can see this.

Disappointing. The game is pretty disappointing. There was a lot of hype about it before it came out but all it is, is a tap and wait game. You get to style and make your own character but you’re still following a pre-authorized story line and all you’re doing is tapping on what it tells you and waiting 5 minutes between every energy fill (way too long). Definitely not the open world role playing we’re all still waiting for...

Painfully slow unless you pay. I fully recognize app developers need to monetize, but this is ridiculous.

Update Error. Sounds like I’m not the only one with this issue. Whenever I open up the task icon to see my quest and side quests, it says error. Please fix this, I love this game. This has only been an issue since the new update.

Too boring to bother anymore. I liked the game at first, and I’m compelled by the story, but too little new content, slow updates, can’t do anything with coins beside level up your characters with the same repeated questions. Give us gems, give us books, let us trade coins in for what we want! Or make all the clothing coin purchases. Just, do something, or you’ll be losing players soon. Just too boring to bother anymore!

Omg!!!!!. Omg!! I’m obsessed with Harry Potter and I’ve been waiting so long for this game it payed off I LOVE IT!!

On the fence. Being a huge HP fan i enjoy it a lot but Im a little disappointed with the fact you need energy to do things because of the fact it goes so quickly. Fans want to play because of the mystery story and racking up knowledge of making potions and casting spells to become better and it’s impossible to do so when you can’t do much in so little time which then leads to a lot of fans not sticking around to play, it’s a bit of a drag when i have to sit and wait for my energy to go up just to continue my game. I get you guys need or would like to make some money off the game but isnt there another way?

The game could be so much better.. Look. I understand the point of yall tryna make money. But then just make us pay for the game. I’ll gladly buy this if there was no energy. It makes the game unplayable because u have to wait for 30mins in game to play it because the timer runs out then it takes 3 min to gain 1 energy. Just make the game a paid for game instead of making us spend money multiple times to make the fame playable. I wouldn’t recommend buying this game AT ALL. Its not playable

Jam city should be embarrassed. Got it and deleted it within 24 hours. The micro transactions that are forced on you due to (lack of) stamina is astounding.

Extremely disappointing!!!. Very frustrating that the game literally only lets you play for five minutes and then you are out of energy. Unfortunate because it’s really enjoyable to play for the 30 seconds you get to!!!

Good game ruined by greed.. An iconic part of the Harry Potter world is the pet each student gets to take to school with them. Well, not in this game, unless you’re willing to spend $12 for a cat, or $17 for an owl. This game follows the typical and tired format of bad app games: forcing you to pay exorbitant amounts of real money for basic gameplay. These kinds of games encourage obsessive gameplay since you can only complete certain events by literally playing all day. The events are cruel and near impossible without paying for energy. Energy that is absurdly expensive. SEVENTEEN DOLLARS FOR AN OWL. That Harry Potter gets on his first day of Hogwarts. Too bad; your kid isn’t privileged enough to be a part of THIS wizarding world. 🙄 It’s a well-made game at its core, but only children of rich parents will get to enjoy it to its full extent, which is a rather bad direction for a game based off a world made for all children to enjoy. A better model would be to simply make it a paid game, or reduce the cost of energy and gems to a more reasonable amount that players are able to afford. More people are willing to pay a dollar here and there for some in-game items when the price seems reasonable. The current prices are not even remotely reasonable. You can buy a full, new, AAA game for the price of what this game will cost you for basic gameplay. It’s clear the creative team put some good work into this game, but it’s ruined by the obvious greed of the producers. Skip this game and save your kid the disappointment.

Boring. Kinda boring, there’s no challenge to this game at all. It’s also Impossible to play longer than 3 minutes, every activity takes way too much energy.

Jam City hates its fan base. Is this a pointless tap ‘game’ with energy? Yes. Previously at least though there was a good story and Jam City looked like they cared. Recently though Jam City has turned the game into an endless grind fest with very little story updates. Can not recommend this game anymore.

Don’t waste your time.. Every single review has a complaint about the energy, and they have still done nothing to fix it, extremely greedy devs! This game is garbage.

Energy. I run out of energy too fast! After you run out of energy you need to wait 4 ENTIRE minutes!! Love the game jus t not a fan of that stuff...

Potterheads are proud. This game is amazing, I was looking forward to play this game and here I am! Thank you for full filling our dreams to become a wizards even in a other way! Thank you very much.

Can’t start over. I accidentally clicked the wrong gender and it won’t let me go back and start over

Potential. This game has the potential to be a very fun game.. however you can't play very many tasks, therefor the game will become old very quickly.

Money Grab. You loose energy too quickly to accomplish anything. The graphics and music are great, but the game play stinks. A lot of unnecessary ‘energy’ is lost clicking random things. The cost to refill gems and energy is too high and there aren’t enough built in bonuses to make for good game play. The lessons are deeply repetitive and I know this is designed for kids but there are a ton of adults who would happily play a Harry Potter game that moved a little quicker. Disappointing. Come on Port Key Games!

Nice game but... I love the game and wished for something a bit like that for a while but the fact that you can't play for more than 5 minutes without having to pay and then wait for hours to play again is miserable.

Absurd Energy Levels. I think this is a great game and perfectly executed besides the entertainment levels depleting so quickly, and costing a fortune to replace. I would rather see a one time fee for unlimited energy, instead of consumable gems that have little to do with the HP universe, and ruins the whole experience.

Creepy…. I Heard a girl crying for help as the background music

So much potential wasted. The story behind this game is quite interesting and it definitely has the potential to be fun and engaging for the player. However, the constant tapping gets boring fast. Just when the storyline begins to pick up (while trapped in the vines), you run out of energy and have to wait for the meter to fill. A good game has momentum and this one is definitely lacking in that department. I’m sure many fans would be willing to pay a one-time fee for the app rather than making multiple transactions for energy. Despite having the “choose your own adventure” aspect, the game is pretty linear. It would have been cool if players could explore the castle with a bit more freedom. Also, the energy and gems have nothing to do with the Harry Potter universe. I’m sure someone in the development of the game could’ve thought of something a bit more relevant to the series. The fans appreciate the care and thought put forth in the novels, therefore we would expect a game such as this to pay similar attention to detail. Overall, first impressions are key and this one just didn’t meet expectations. I don’t think I will be re-downloading this app.

Not what I expected. It is a cool idea, I just wish things were a little different. I wish there were questions you answered and that would base what house you were in (not what you choose). I also wish you didn’t need energy to do things or had more. It takes a lot of energy to complete things so you only spend short periods of time playing the game unless you pay.

I LOVE IT But.... This game is great and full of adventures, but the only problem I have is when I’m on the last chapter of the first year, The app keeps on crashing and wont allow me to continue. Please fix this.

Sneaky. Asking people to rate your game just before revealing that its a pay to play game is really sleazy. Really fun game but I’d much rather pay for it once than get pulled out of the fantasy ever few minutes to remind me that your trying to drain my credit card.

ITS GREAT. But do everybody start with this thing about her brother?

Straight up FIX THE ENERGY. It really bothers me that I’m doing this Deathday event and I literally have 53 minutes left of it. I’ve dedicated 90% of my energy on it, and it’s about to end because this “Merula Stealing Food Task” has 5 stars... do you know how many energies it takes just to get 2 stars? 30 which means it will take 60 to get 4 and I’m going to needed 10 more for my last star. But we only get 27... This quite frankly ruins the gameplay. I downloaded this when it first came out. But then I stopped playing it because it wasn’t interactive enough, and I always ran out of energies. I’ve really had times where I was about to buy some. Which is what I know you guys want me to do, but I really just can’t. Like I’m so tired of running out of energy. And waiting 3 hours just to run out of energy again for the same task. There have been times when I was almost done, but I had to wait. But when I got back on I ran out of TIME!!!? And then I’d lose house points?!? Yeah speaking of house points it’s literally impossible to get any. I’m always in last place, and when I first played this game I lost the first 2 years which is the real reason why I stopped. Luckily though this time I won my first year. And I haven’t completed my second year yet because this Event seems fun and I want to complete it. Knowing I have so many classes I would have to attend and gain so many energies just for this event to end. I love this game but I’m slowly giving up...

Disappointed in the development team and service. Don’t get me wrong I like playing this game as it is one of my top games to play, my issue is with the developers and the customer service representatives. When one earns a reward by completing a task that is assigned, one should receive said reward, especially energy which is required to complete the tasks. I noticed I was not receiving all the energy I was earning from completing the daily tasks, so I reached out to the support team. I was notified that it was designed that way and even though I earned the energy I would not receive it because my energy meter was full. They also said the only energy that goes above the meter would be purchased energy and the overall daily planner task completion energy, pet energy and friendship level completion energy. Three that they mentioned involve completing a task to earn the energy and the other tasks you have to purchase. So if completing tasks to get this energy while having a full meter allows the meter to go above what is allowed why not all the energy you earned from completing any task that they assign to you. I pointed out this inconsistency and illogical reasoning behind their decision to not allow all types of earned energy to go above the meter. After all you earned it and it’s not like they allow you not to save it for later when your meter is low or out when you need it.

The Energy problem and a bunch of other ones too.. So I was doing the cry wolf special event but I’ve been very busy. So when I got time to do it, I only had 1 day so I got to the final part and only had 9 minutes left so when it said play gobstones with Chiara I was like, “Oh cool I don’t have to waste energy on this like it kept making me do energy stuff where had to get 5 stars right after I did one those, maybe this game is good after all.” But guess what, it’s another energy event! Why couldn’t it just have been actual gobstones like what you get to play with Rowan and other characters!? This game is good I just would only recommend playing if you have a lot of time. And no, you cannot do special events again if you ran out of time you only get one chance and these are holiday events they just happen on certain chapters. So if you are a very busy person and you are running out of time to do a special event, just give up. Don’t waste money on it because you still may not finish it. This could have been the best Harry Potter game. What went wrong? Please make a update with more ways to get energy and second chances for special events. You do still deserve 5 stars for trying!😀 Note: Btw can you make a method to restart the game without Facebook?

Good game, needs some improvements. When I first saw that a Harry Potter game had arrived at the App Store, I immediately downloaded it without giving much of a second thought to it. I’ve always loved Harry Potter, and I couldn’t wait to experience the magic of Hogwarts. It’s certainly a fun game, but a bit lacking in magic. Overall, I have no technical concerns. Customer service was very helpful and got back to me quickly when I had issues, and the game works fine. I don’t have a problem with the energy itself. I understand the reasons for it, I just wish there was more you could do in between. The few mini games available at the moment aren’t fantastic. Dueling lacks any skill, gobstones is a little rude (you’re supposed to use your friends’ weaknesses), and classes are too often and too boring. I’m stuck going from one three hour thing to another where I just click and wait. And many characters are a little mean. I don’t understand why everyone got so mad at my character for losing points when I was still getting more points than anyone else in my house! Right now, I have twenty more points than the student with the second most points earned out of all of Hogwarts, yet my house is still third. Of course, I’m still on Year One, so maybe things will work out in the end? Overall, it’s fun enough and it’s the only Harry Potter app out there, so I recommend it.

Could not change avatar until after the sorting ceremony.. When trying to create an avatar I was only given a choice between one witch and one wizard with the “accept“ button below. There was no selection of different types of girl or boy avatars. Just the one of each. It said you would be able to change your avatar later if you wanted to, but that was not the case. I kept tapping on the avatar icon at the upper left corner of the screen and nothing happened, so I was stuck with an avatar that looked nothing like me and that I completely did not relate to. It really kind of spoiled the game, so I didn’t explore very far. Although I did notice I was immediately asked if I wanted to purchase a pet for $4.99, which I thought was a lot. Deleting and reinstalling the app did not delete my information and I couldn’t start again from scratch. Finally, after the sorting hat ceremony I was able to adjust my avatar. The graphics look really good and are quite evocative of the books. It’s too soon to tell yet how I would like the game. But I was certainly off to a rocky start. One more problem: you have to buy glasses as an accessory. In the UK the NHS would find them for you for free. Glasses are in the Cecily not an accessory, and should be part of your original avatar at no extra cost. My poor avatar will have to wait a long time before she will be able to see straight as she makes her way through the game.

Energy takes too long, and items are too expensive. I like the game, it’s a great idea. Some problems I have with it are the time it takes to replenish energy, and how expensive it is to buy things in the game. Each energy point takes 4 minutes to generate, which I think is far too long. I understand why there is replenish time, but it should be much shorter. 30 seconds to 1 minute for each point would make the gameplay much more fun, and keep players interested. I always end up losing interest in the game because it takes so long to get anywhere. You could also add in more opportunities for players to watch advertisements to get more items. I know there are some, but having the option constantly instead of randomly would be better. Not only this but the items you can purchase are far too expensive for physical characteristics, and pets. I would love to make my character look like myself, but I can’t afford to purchase any items. The items are not the only things too expensive either. You have to buy your own memories, you have to buy duels, and you have to buy games. Things that move the story forward should be free. Unnecessary gameplay could cost some gems or some coins, but definitely not stuff that’s crucial to the story. If the makers of the game fixed these problems, then I will gladly change my rating to five stars.

Great game with same complaint. I’ve been playing this game since it came out, and I love it! I love being a part of Hogwarts and creating my own character. The story is so unique and has kept me interested all the way to year 7. Not having a story for a few days at a time is a little sad sometimes, but I understand that it’s still in development so I won’t complain about that. However, as many other reviewers have mentioned, the energy is very frustrating. I’ve been playing the game since the beginning so I have 52 energy capacity, but how come I still basically use all of it to finish a 1-hour class? I feel like after all of my time and dedication to this game after all of these years should mean that my energy can do more at a time. That way, you get rewarded for make it through the times of only having 25 energy. Another complaint that I have is the fact that the time limited side quests should not have tasks that you have to wait 5 hours to start. That’s just ridiculous. It’s hard enough to finish those in the time limit, but making you waste time not even being able to start the next task is so unfair. So there are clear improvements that I really wish they could make to make this a 5-star game in my opinion. But the story is amazing and it’s worth playing anyway.

BEST GAME EVER!. This game is so amazing. It truly captures the experience of reading Harry Potter. I love how you can meet two of the Weasley kids and Tonks too! All the teacher look the same and have the same personality: Dumbledore is understanding and calm, Flitwick is kind, and Snape is horrible and hates everyone😆. No complaints at all but (remember: THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT) I just get frustrated waiting to get energy for the timed challenges and the time for the challenge runs out and I have to start over again. But I love how you can get extra energy around the castle by tapping painting and even Peeves. As you can tell I’m a huge Harry Potter geek and know everyone’s names by heart. The animals are cool too but I think just a rat is too expensive! It’s not like I want a rat but I want an owl or a cat and they are 10 time as expensive. But no complaints. What the heck would you use the pets for? I’m pretty sure they can give you extra energy. But that would be why they are so expensive. I love how you can customize you character to make it white or black, a redhead, blonde, or brunette. And I think the look of the clothes is spot on. I love the robes. My only wish is that I could have a cooler “bff”. No complaints but Rowan is kind of weird. Over all I love this game so so so so so so much. I would say way more but it would take you an hour to read it. Bye Bye!!

Cool initially but needs more ways to interact. I have a pretty good attention span but even I started loosing steam about halfway into the second year. I made it to the beginning of year three and I don’t know how much further I can go. The app has an interesting storyline and the settings are really detailed and absolutely beautiful, but pretty quickly into the game challenges start taking too much energy and you can’t complete anything in a reasonable amount of time. Since chapters now take me days to complete, the game desperately needs something like mini games you can play on the side - essentially something more interesting than just tapping the screen and the occasional swiping of a finger. Either that or more ways to increase your energy capacity so you can get more done in one sitting. Along those lines, another thing I wish you could do is quit a challenge. It’s a pain when you only need one star to pass but you still have to either complete all five stars or wait three hours before you can go do another task. Basically, your available energy limit, plus the hidden energies you can collect, only allow for about two minutes of game play. And last, I wish you could skip over your character’s reactions. They probably only take 5 seconds or so, but since they happen so often and you can’t skip past them, they begin to feel like an eternity. The amount of my life I’ve wasted staring at my character’s overly-proud-of-herself face is preposterous.

Great Game but Constantly Crashes?. I am a huge HP fan and was very excited to download the game and get started. Sure the whole wait time for the energy is annoying but it is a franchise and paying for energy is the way they get money out of it. I do think that paying so much money to buy gems in order to get a pet or more creatures to look after is ridiculous especially if you put into perspective how much you need to spend in order to actually get a dragon to look after. What I mainly have a problem with is that I would find the game crashing a lot. I would go into a specific area, suddenly the screen would go black and I would find myself looking at my home page. I got to year two and couldn’t get past the welcoming feast when it would continuously crash just before the food would appear. I tried exiting out of the app several times, restarting my device, etc. but haven’t tried deleting and re-downloading for fear of losing data in the game. I’m literally at a stand still right now!! Please developers HELP!! Otherwise, I really like the creativity that was put into it but would like to maybe see if the Pottermore site and the app could link up as I have a different wand on the site and would like them to be the same. Just a simple suggestion as I think this would really keep all of the different sites connected.

Not a bad game.. This game can be very fun! Specially if you are a fan of Harry Potter like me lol! When I first downloaded this game I was super stoked! I played it for a long time (a couple of weeks even months) and still loved it. I loved how you could experience Hogwarts pretty much first hand! I got to year 4 as a Hufflepuff and then realized the downside to this app. I knew that you had to wait for energy in order to do anything, but it started to take longer. Also they practically made me do these side quests that could take forever! At times it was one after the other. If I didn’t participate in it right then and there, they would ask me to again like a week after. I started to get annoyed. They were distracting me from counting on the main journey. These side quests can be fun just not right after another. I eventually stopped playing it for long stretches of time. I saw an add for it once and the were able to scan their faces, this made their character look exactly like them. I thought that was cool so I opened up the app. Long story short, didn’t find a way to scan. Overall it’s not a bad game, it’s just very, very time consuming. Especially when you don’t want it to be. Hope you do enjoy the app if you get it and have a magical, breathtakingly, and never could have imagined before experience! I know I sure did when I used to play!!!

Fun to experience but painful to play. As a major fan of both the books and movies of Harry Potter, I was very happy to find this game and experience Hogwarts for myself. What I found though shortly after the first few scenes was the game is predecided. I mean that as the game takes you where they’ve decided you’re going to go. You have some freedom to wander but the activities take you here and there and it’s not much fun. The major problem I have with the game is that while doing these predecided tasks, you have to perform actions that require “energy”. Energy recharges 1 per 4 minutes and you start with 25 energy. The problem is, ONE activity like this uses anywhere from 20-40 energy to complete. Meaning you can only do one activity at a time without having to exit the game and let your energy recharge. This completely ruins the experience and stops me from enjoying the game as I can’t do more than one thing without being prompted to buy “gems”. Now I know every game has some micro transaction system but this is ridiculous. You’re ruining the game singlehandedly by making it take a month to do 1 year of the game. My consumer opinion is that you either increase the amount of energy you get from the start or reduce the amount of time it takes to recharge/complete tasks. I know you may be trying to extend the lifetime of the game seeing as there is only 3 years but you’re killing the fun of it. I love Harry Potter and this game is cool but it needs work.

A fan that just wants to help. I really love this game and I play it everyday, however, many people I talk to that already play the game are getting bored with it after the first week of playing. Were I not the dedicated HP fan that I am, I might have gone with them. You’re story is great and as someone that always wanted to have a mystery to solve at hogwarts, this game is sort of my dream come true but the energy wait kills it. I understand this game needs to make money, but don’t underestimate the Harry Potter fan, we will spend where we love. As it stands right now, it doesn’t seem worth it to spend money if it’s only going to earn us 5 more seconds of play. It breaks my heart that this game that I love is broken up into seconds at a time. It is frustrating and takes a lot of patience to work through one task, an amount of patience I don’t want to have use when playing a game that is supposed to be bringing me joy. Now, if the plot based adventures required energy but the side quests, bonus classes and relationship activities didn’t cost energy and were always available to play while I was waiting for energy, that would be great! I would be in the world of the game for longer than a couple seconds and would be more likely to invest in the plot aspect of the game. Great work but if you are looking for a way to make it a game that will last and that will make money, I suggest reworking the amount of playtime.

Fun, creative game hindered by energy points. I first want to start off by saying that this is my favorite Harry Potter game there is!!! I haven’t gotten that far yet but I’m already in love with the story and side quest!! However, I have a major grievance with the energy points. I understand that they’re to slow it down so it takes more time for the user to play, but I think they slow it down WAY too much. It takes 4 minutes for just one point, and to get through a lesson you usually need about 25 (which is maximum capacity). It’s very frustrating that it takes a lot of time to reload and it makes it so the game is more about energy points than playing and having fun. While you can purchase some more for real money or diamonds, I just feel like the game should be made slightly more accommodating for the free users that want to immerse themselves into the game and storylines by lowering the energy points needed to earn stars, or by allowing the user to complete tasks that don’t require energy points to earn energy points. The game has an option where you can tap around the castle to earn a couple more points, but it’s just not enough. That being said, the graphics and animation are both really good and I’m impressed by how similar it is to the Harry Potter movies and how they included the characters into the game! So overall, I’m in love with the storylines and characters, but the struggle to get energy points is a major drawback for me.

A slow game of social role playing. If you are expecting a fast game of non-stop battles against the death eaters, this is quite the opposite. It focuses on pretending to make friends with npcs by answering trivia questions, going to classes, and very slowly traversing an entertaining mystery story. The slowness comes largely from gaining the necessary energy to proceed at the rate of one point every four minutes. Even if you buy energy to speed forward, many adventures specify that you cannot go to the next part for some period, often eight hours. All this means is that you should plan to play for a couple of minutes and then do other things until you can play for a few more minutes. The strength of the game is that it well delivers the atmosphere of the books and movies: riding a broomstick, learning magic, becoming an animagus, a healer, and a curse breaker. There is infrequent dueling (slightly more if you pay extra). Although the classes that you have to take over and over are usually as boring and repetitive as they seem to little children, the story is cute enough so I find myself laughing out loud at the jokes. Player choices have a significant effect on it, so that you may find yourself deeply involved, which could be frustrating while you are waiting for hours to see if you are strangled by a plant, caught sneaking into Filch”s office, or imprisoned forever in a cursed vault.

It's pretty good.... So honestly I've never really been a big Harry Potter fan but this game came up in an Ad for another game I was playing on my phone and I decided to download it. The game is actually quite entertaining and fun for the most part but some things did come to my attention. At first, they give you enough energy to do certain tasks, and I never really paid attention to it until I realized that you had to wait four minutes to recover *just one* ball of energy. Normally for a whole lesson you need about 35-45 balls of energy in order to get through the whole thing. And waiting over an hour for the energy to fill back up, just so it can reach its limit of 26 is pretty annoying. I even went as far as to spend my money and buy a bundle pack that came with gems, energy, and coins and it's helped a lot. But I do wish it was more accessible and faster to regain those balls of energy or if there were certain things you could do in order to get them. Another thing is the tasks, I like how interactive the game is but it's bothersome to have to wait over four hours just to have a conversation with someone or move onto the next task in the game. And then if you did want to rush it, and use your gems, it's over-the-top expensive for it too! I guess my only complaint is the wait times for both the tasks and energy. Other than that the game is really fun and entertaining! ❤️

Glitchy and poor customer service. I’ve been playing this game for a couple of months now. I love the concept since I’m a big Harry Potter fan. But, I’ve had some pretty disappointing experiences. The worst was when I was unable to access the game for 3 days because a scoreboard for a special event popped up when I opened the game and completely covered the screen. It was frozen and would not close despite force closing the app numerous times. I contacted customer service and was asked for my player ID, which I provided. I never heard back. I basically had to wait until the special event was over before I could get into the game again. This caused me to miss out on another event I really wanted to participate in along with the associated prizes and levels I might have achieved. With other games I play, when something similar happens they will usually issue a courtesy credit/prize for your inconvenience. Not on this one. Pretty bad. I also find the sound to be glitching. It goes on and off on its own without any interference from me. It’s not my phone. All other apps have continuous sound. And finally it would be nice to have more energy points, which are needed for a majority of the games, as you have to spend money fairly consistently to get anything done or progress in the levels. This doesn’t have much to do with skill, rather most of the time it’s that you’re out of energy and can’t continue.

Happy Ravenclaw 😍 but not completely satisfied. I love HP so much and nearly fell to tears when I found out this came was out. The graphics and plot are really good and got me nearly hooked. Other reviews talked negatively about it just being a point and click game and that didn’t bother me much, I still get to see the beautiful parts of Hogwarts even if it it’s seconds between missions. The biggest reason I'm rating this 3 stars is first the customization of your character. I don’t mind paying for clothes other than my ropes but hairstyles? I’ve never seen a game charge for hairstyles. I’m a poc and I have dreads and that hair style is free but my sister has an afro and she’s pretty upset she has to wait till she hits level 15 to really look like herself in this game. The other issue is the whole energy situation. You only have 24 energy and once you use any of them, it takes 4 min to reload one (time in the game goes quiet slowly imo). The first few missions you can get through in one sitting but after that you run out of energy fast and for me I don’t have money to buy more so I usually just wait and play another game but the missions have a set time you’re supposed to complete them and I usually forget to check up on my energy before I’ve run out of time and have to start the mission all over again. This is very frustrating and I’m not sure how much longer I can play till I end up deleting this game. Please fix

Please fix the energy. I have noticed a few problems. First there is wrong spelling all the time. Second there should be some other tasks that are quicker loading to get stuff done quicker. Third I can never get gems. I am not allowed to pay real money and I can not get more gems from anywhere. Fourth is the loading. The game takes about 5 seconds to load, and that does not seem like much, but for all the stuff it takes a lot of time away. Fifth is the fact that stuff like gobstones or pets or clothes is way overpriced. Also you should make it so when characters talk and you have the sound up, the just grunt and make noises. But the energy is the big problem. I would suggest that you either make so we can pay coins for energy, or make small tasks we do to win energy, or make the energy timer do that in 4 minutes you get 4. Not one per minute, but every four minutes you get four. If you look in all the other comments you have, nearly everybody who plays this game is complaining about the energy. You need to fix this! I put on a three hour challenge, use all my energy without even getting one star yet, wait an hour and a half, and then go back, get up to 2 1/2 stars, empty out all my energy, wait an hour and a half, and find out that it timed out and it says that I need to do the exact same thing over again without waiting for energy. That is practically just saying that you want us to fail or handover our money.

2.8 stars. Sometimes fun, but the “tap the box and wait” approach is boring, and really uncreative. I am on Year 2 Chapter 7 and so far, it has been a great time. It’s wonderful to finally be a part of Hogwarts! My only problem is the waits. Many people deleted the app within the first few chapters, and I assure you, the vast majority of them did it because of having to wait hours to get out of devil snare. And if they didn’t delete it then, they probably did later because there’s tons more of waits like that and longer. 3 hour waits, 8 hour waits. You can hardly play for ten minutes before encountering something where you have to wait at least an hour. Plus with the style the game is in right now, there really isn’t much fun in hogwarts classes. HP fans have waited for YEARS to attend hogwarts classes, and now the best shot we have at that is this game, and frankly they are just kind of boring. You really just tap boxes, wait a couple hours, and tap more boxes . It’s really just not interactive or fun enough. The funnest parts are the duels, which are more interactive, and more challenging. And for classes i would really suggest stopping the “tap the box” approach. Maybe make students actually do work to brew a potion, grab the right ingredients, stir this amount of time. That’s way more fun than tapping boxes. Overall I find the game fun, but i also think there are lots of things that could make it WAY more fun. It’s just a little disappointing.

It’s the beginning of something magical. I’ve been a big Harry Potter nerd ever since I picked up the books back in middle school. So I would say that I have a decent amount of knowledge about the wizarding world and Iam glad that this game adapts things from the books and movies into it. Like certain spells or characters that you’ll most definitely recognize as you progress through you’re own years at Hogwarts. So far I think up to Year 3 has been set up since the game is relatively new, but I hope they take their time and continue keeping it original and packed with things to do like they have so far. My only gripe about this game would be the energy system and having to wait for certain parts of the story to open up. Which makes sense since time passes in real life and you can’t instantly do everything all in a row like that so it can be seen as realistic. But the energy limit kinda gets in the way sometimes and I wish that it would increase by 1 every time you level up or something additional to doing Broom training lessons. Because Iam currently on Year 2 and only have +3 more energy than I did when I started and it seems like lessons are going to require more stars from this point onwards. It’s not a major pain but it would make the game easier. Iam glad this exists though!

Love this game buuut. I love this game it’s so sick I’ve always loved Harry Potter and everything having to do with it, it’s my childhood. And this game is so freaking cool to keep that Harry potter nostalgia going. I play this pretty much everyday. I just redownloaded a couple days ago. And I remember why I deleted it in the first place. I deleted it because of the thing everyone is noticing. The energy. And the time it takes for you to wait till you can go onto the next mission/part of the story. I wanna play this game till I finish all of the years and I wanna see it through and see all of the things the game has for us. And I understand you can bypass the time it takes with gems and that’s a way for you guys to make money on the app, and the same thing kind of with the energy counter. But. It’s very very frustrating. It’s gonna take me ages to complete the game with the timer and the energy situation so I might lose the fun I have with it. Anyways. If you were to fix anything. I recommend either slowing down the energy timer to two minutes per one energy instead of four. Or four for three or more. And for the timer till the edit part of the story. I say either completely get rid of that terrible mechanic. Or slow it down. Or even make the gems to unlock it fast even cheaper. Please please try to do this. The game will be so much better!

Poor Gameplay mechanics and audio.. Mechanics- The game is very slow to progress. A very sit around and wait after playing for like 10 minutes type game. You get a very low amount of energy to play with and the recharge rate is 1 energy every four minutes. In between story missions are like little side quests where you go to charms class and such and often you will go to the same class several times and every new charm or similar type class is the same. Just a very poor linear design choice. You are able to duel as well which is a very simple encounter of a few types of engagements and attack styles. After you duel there’s about a 7 hour wait time before you can do it again. When you run out of energy you should just wait it out because buying an energy bar fill, is pretty expensive as well as in game currency. The audio - there is little to none audible character dialogue which in a sense is I guess understandable do to the fact that they couldn’t really get the original actors to voice act. But in place of that is your typical verbal noises such as gasps, awes, grunts, ect. Some of the characters are also portrayed a little differently then in the films such as personality and things. Filch is a lot “meaner” and is portrayed as more involved then the series had him. Hagrid talks pretty weird. Overall it’s just not what I expected this game to be and I am quite disappointed personally. Not as fun as it could have been or interesting a 2/5 for me.

ALMOST Lived Up to the HYPE. I long awaited this release, as did many others. The graphics are good. And the game plays smooth on my device. It brings back all the HP nostalgia that I hoped for. BUT... One of the best things about HP is being able to get lost in the story and lose all track of time and place. If you expect that from this game, you will be disappointed. The biggest downfall in playing is that if you are a player who doesn’t buy in-game items, you will blow through your energy in five minutes and be left waiting for your energy meter to refill. Some might be okay with this. For me, it makes it difficult to get wrapped up in the story and I’m already starting to lose interest. I’m literally logging in, playing for five minutes, run out of energy, log out and find something else to play. I’ve barely begun to play and it is already feeling more like a chore to open the game and play than an excitement. With that said, if the energy were not an issue, I would probably be playing all day. As I said before, the graphics are good. Also, the tasks are good and somewhat interesting. The ability to customize your character is enjoyable, despite having to pay to change certain physical features or clothes. I just wish I could actually play long enough to feel some sort of attachment to the game other than the pre-existing HP characters that have been included in the app.

AMAZING! I have some suggestions…. I am a pretty big Harry Potter fan, so it is super fun to get to pick the house I want to be in and to play like a real student in Hogwarts. This is definitely a five star game but I do have a few things that I would change. The first and main thing is the energy. In the game you need energy to complete the tasks. If you run out of energy, you have to wait hours for more energy because you only get more energy every 4 minutes. But you only get one energy every four minutes. This makes the game a lot less fun because the only way to get more energy is to either watch a bunch of ads or to pay. Another one of my suggestions is to get rid of the timers. Sometimes you need to do something in the game but you can’t because for some reason it makes you wait three hours. This is just ridiculous to me and it makes the game a lot less fun. If you want to continue without having to wait, you have to use timer toffees and you only get time or toffees once a year. You can also pay money for toffees, wich no one wants to do. My last and final suggestion is to get rid of boring side quests. For some reason you have to do side quests when all you really want to do are the big quests that get you moving in the game. This side quests game take a lot longer and it’s just really frustrating -sincerely, Edog

Crashes constantly. To start off I’m actually going to talk about how this is a legitimately good game. Although there are complaints about the energy system, it isn’t that bad and helps you pace your gameplay. The storyline is genuinely interesting and the animations are well done: you can really tell how much effort the devs put in this and I’d like to thank them for that! The only main issue is the constant crashing. I’ve noticed that the courtyard and the lower floor - east are for sure the worst offenders, though recently the dungeon’s been acting up as well. This problem is especially frustrating since it’s been going on since the game’s birth. It got better since a while back (though those two sites would still crash ALL THE TIME) but recently they’ve been even worse than usual. Even trying to go sites within the Lower east floor, like the classrooms, cause the game to crash. And yes, I’ve tried restarting the game many times and even re-installing it. It’s just super annoying and disappointing that this issue has been going on for months (with numerous complaints from many, many people) but it never seems to be fully resolved. I’m not sure if this is because the devs are too busy designing hideous clothes and “🤡 make-up” or because this issue is somehow completely unresolvable. If it were to be fixed it would make the gameplay experience so much smoother and enjoyable. But taking the history of this glitch into account, I don’t think it’ll ever be fully fixed.

It isn’t bad. I’m only in Year One, but my experience so far is not wonderful. The “energy” element is frustrating. To get through a Five Star lesson you need around 30-something energy points, and after you spend what you have, you need to wait four minutes for a single point to recharge. If you don’t mind games where you have to put down your device for a couple hours in order to keep playing, it isn’t bad at all, but I was hoping for something more engaging. This game is hardly mentally engaging. There is barely a mystery, you just have to keep slowly following the plot. Not only is it difficult to get through a single lesson, you sometimes need even more energy just to unlock the lesson. The classes themselves involve no challenge. All you do is tap things, trace shapes occasionally, and answer pretty easy Wizarding World trivia questions. All in all my criticisms are really just “too based on the energy element and not enough plot”. However I’m still playing. It’s okay as a time killer. The graphics are very nice and I like that you can name your pets and magical creatures. The plot isn’t the best, but it isn’t terrible. I like how certain responses to questions need a certain level of Knowledge, Empathy, etc, and how you can make decisions that affect the course of the game. If you don’t mind prolonged gameplay and very simple interaction this game might be worth it for you. And maybe it gets better after Year One. I’ll keep playing.

Great Game but Needs a Major Change. I love this game and how realistic it is! It is great and has lots of potential. Having read every Harry Potter book and seen every movie I must say this game is very relatable and could have definitely happened. The only problem with this game is that you need way to much energy. I understand why you need energy but it gets extremely frustrating when you spend 15 minutes playing the game and then have to exit out because you can’t do anything without energy. It will recharge in a couple of hours and then you will be excited but end up playing only about another 15 minutes due to the excessive amount of energy needed. I understand that you probably make most of your money off of people buying energy, but you would have way more happy players if you took away the excessive amount of energy needed and replaced it with something like occasional adds instead. This way you would gain more happy players and even more money because more players watching more adds means more money for you. I really hope you consider this suggestion because if this is not fixed I am afraid myself and others may delete the game and not recommend it to anyone. If you think about it this is a Win-Win. You will gain more players and money from adds, while keeping your players happy and entertained by your game.

Great Game, But a Few Small Annoying Things. This is an awesome game for Potterheads or people who just want to play a fun fantasy game! It has an actual storyline where you can make friends, make different choices, customize your character, and even buy pets! Overall, a really great game, definitely worth downloading. However, I do have a few small complaints. First off, the big one. I’m pretty sure you know what I’m going to say: the energy. It takes FOREVER to recharge! You have to wait 4 whole minutes for 1 energy to recharge! I know this probably makes the developers more money because people want more energy, but maybe consider dropping it to 2 minutes instead of 4. Another thing is that when you find the secret energy things, if you have a full energy bar, they don’t work. Luckily, the extra events that give you energy work for the full energy bar. A second thing - whyyyy does it take so long to get gems? Like, I really enjoy the game, but gems just seem so hard to get! A third thing to add- the notebooks you can use to adopt pets. It’s really hard to get more and you usually don’t have enough. Other than those small things, it’s a really good game and I definitely recommend it, but fixing those few things would make it a lot better.

The game is cool but it’s a money pit. I love the stories and adventures... BUT!! You have to spend money to get anywhere in the game. This game is not for children (or adults) with a limited budget. Many of the lessons and adventures require more energy than your natural limit which is only 27. Gems can buy more energy but they are one of the least naturally attainable items in the game. So when you run out of energy in the middle of a lesson (which happens often) you pay money to obtain the gems which can buy you energy, which makes the gems the most valuable item in the game. So you pay $5 for 130 gems or $9 for 275 gems (and it goes up from there). But then you get even less value for your gems because then you can spend 50 gems on 30 energy or 100 gems on 60 energy. These run out fast because each instructor insists on massive amounts of review of previous lessons so each lesson may take at least 60 energy each. So the most valuable item in the game turns into one of the least valuable items in the game, but it’s still more valuable than the gold they give you which can barely buy anything of importance in the game. It is really ruining my enjoyment, that I have to spend so much money to even advance daily. Lots of people are complaining about this but are the developers going to fix it? They are laughing at you and I! That we are willing to spend so much money to pretend we are students at Hogwarts. I say this game is not worth going broke...

Amazing game-but some tips. I’ve been playing this game for a while now everyday and I think it’s great. The animations on the characters are amazing. And the storyline is very clever. But, as most of these review are telling you about, the energy thing gives you 1 per 4 minutes which means 15 and hour. Of course the app has made some fixes with giving you a lot of energy as a prize or lowering the time. But I wish it didn’t take so much time to do all the classes with all the energy. Also, what really annoying for me is the Attributes comparing with your friends. When you choose who you want to do your mission with, and then you usually have this thing where you tell them reasons not to be scared and come, sometimes I choose someone you have higher attributes then me, and in order to get all three of the gems for it, I have to take a ton of classes to higher my attributes, and it usually takes me a week before I can get back to the storyline. One more thing. I think you should give the extra adventures more time. 4 days and a couple hours isn’t enough. I get really upset when i put all my time into the adventure and it ends and i never get to finish. Maybe and extra day or two? Otherwise, it’s a great game and I love playing it! Hope they can try to fix those tho. Awesome game😁

Dueling Club EDITED. Overall this game is amazing. I think that the loading time for energy is fair and with new ways to acquire energy it became a lot better. Very recently is the dueling club feature which I absolutely love. After 3 loses you have to wait 24 hours before being able to duel again which is fair. The only problem? It’s 24 hours of playing time. The app has to be open and running for the timer to run down and receive your tickets to duel. I’m on this app tops of 2 hours a day and with events like the ones that are running now there is absolutely no way for me to completely them. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or intentional but this is something that needs to be fixed. EDIT: The issue has been somewhat addressed. Now it’s only 15 minutes of playing time to get new tickets which is completely fair. However now when you duel, stamina levels are not the same with your opponent. Your player level is 40 while your opponent’s is doubled at 80! It makes being able to win a duel much harder and a lot more frustrating. If you make as little as 2 wrong moves the match is over. EDIT 2: You know how last time we just had to wait a certain amount of time to get dueling tickets? Not anymore! Because now you have to pay 120 diamonds just the get 3 more tickets! That’s utterly ridiculous! Can there please be some consistency??? I can’t complete the challenges for dueling club because I refuse to pay so much for for 3 tickets that can be used up in 2 minutes

Amazing game but... I’ve always liked to watch Harry Potter movies, and read the books, so when I found out that there was a game for it, I was ecstatic! I looked for this game and found it. I was really happy that it was available on IOS. I was looking at the game, and found myself scrolling down to the reviews. I read a lot of them complaining about the energy. I was really confused, and thought it was nothing. That was until I played the game myself. You should not have to wait 4 minutes just to get 1 energy point or whatever. I am very frustrated. I decided to do some research to explain my point. In this game, you have a time limit to do things. For example, in Charms Class, you have a 3 hour time limit to finish it. So let’s say that I waited until my energy was filled (overnight), and then I entered charms class. I used up all of my 26 energy points, because that is what you see at the energy bar, and what the past 5 days of testing have told me. I have to wait 4 minutes to get 1 more energy point. To get a total of 26 energy points, it would take me approximately 1 hour and 44 minutes. I’m sure nobody wants to sit there and wait for that long. Maybe take away the time limit, energy limit, and shorten the energy making process to 15 seconds. Thank you. Respectfully, The Players of this game

SO FUN!!!. So.. this game is awesome! You guys have created an amazing storyline, wonderful bonus adventures, and interesting characters. I love so much of what you do, so keep up the great work! But there are a few issues that need attention. The game itself is awesome, but the ads are almost always inappropriate. The energy takes forever to get. If you could give us some more time to do events, or shorten the amount of time it takes to get energy, that would be great. The gems are too hard to get. I understand that you want to have in-game purchases, but $10 for 10 gems? That’s a bit pricey. The and on the matter of energy, it takes too long to get, and you should be able to buy it with Galleons (Coins). It would be nice if you would shorten the load screen as well, it takes a while for me to actually be able to play the game. I also have a suggestion, I never thought I would say this, but you guys need some ads! I have never seen an ad for this game. I had to search “harry potter games” on the App Store. This game is amazing, but if you could please fix these small issues, I will give you 5 stars, instead of 4. Thanks for taking the time to read this review!😀 Update: I just saw you guys’ first ad!! It’s incredible, I’m glad you didn’t false advertise, like some other games. If you guys could fix the energy matter, then five stars for you!

Fun, but needs improvement. I used to play this a lot, but several updates ago I started losing interest after I noticed the energy refills for classes and quests had been tweaked. Before the update, I was able to complete an hour class with my energy at full (with a little help from my pets). And 3 hour classes I could finish with a full bar, by gathering all the extra energy hidden throughout the castle and by watching ads. Now, even with all that help I fall short and it takes me multiple logins to complete something I used to be able to do in one go. I’m not okay with this. The purpose of this game should be to make us WANT to stay logged in and playing. But it’s such an obvious money-grab, I just get frustrated and refuse to go back later. That means I’m playing my other games and giving money to THEM instead, because I actually have fun and feel like I’m accomplishing something. Here, I feel like I’m on a hamster wheel, and no matter how often I login and play, they won’t let me off until the greedy corporation’s pockets get filled. And although the animal update is adorable, I know the same flaws are going to be present when it comes to feeding/bonding, so I really see no reason to even bother. Which is sad, because I used to have fun and felt my time was well spent, and even gave a couple dollars here and there, but now I’m refusing on principle alone.

Love It! But…. Ok so I absolutely LOVE this game and enjoy playing it. That being said, I have a few things that prevented this from being 5 stars. 1, and I’ve seen this basically EVERYWHERE, the ENERGY. It’s incredibly difficult to wait 4 minutes for 1 energy, and I just end up setting timers on my phone to let me know when I get the energy. The actual tasks that require energy aren’t bad, but it’s difficult when it’s 3hrs long and it takes 2 hours just to refill the energy level. 2, and this may be a bit biased since you can’t control glitches, I was playing at Year 2 Chapter 6 and finishing a Potions class when I went back into the game, just to find that my app restarted and I was back at the beginning. It was quite frustrating, and only because I want to know what happens to my character did I restart the game (I’m back at Y1C9 at the moment). Finally, I think that it would be cool if you brought back the energy spots in the club rooms for Sphinx, Dragon, and Hippogriff. I remember that they used to give energy, coins, and gems and I really miss them because they were incredibly helpful!! All in all, I absolutely love this game, and if either of these could happen, I would be immensely grateful. Your game is so addicting and I’m so grateful for all the effort the developers put into making this. ❤️

Love hate. I honestly really enjoyed this game, even as a 20 year old. It obviously appeals to a younger crowd, but it was really fun being immersed into hogwarts, making friends, and reading the story. The best part is dueling. They are constantly adding new features to the game as well, since I’ve started playing, there have beeen at least 3 updates adding new features that make the game more fun! I know they’re still developing it and I was so excited to be a part of it. The downfall is that my game progress has been erased completely twice mysteriously. Ha. I guess that’s the mystery they’re referring to. I was playing the game then a few hours later I got on my phone and it had me starting at the beginning. I don’t have a Facebook which is a way to save your game progress. But the app should hold it itself as well. The first time I assumed something happened with my phone because some other weird things were happening, but for sure the second time there was no reason my game progress should have been erased. I have contacted support about the issue and it has been nearly a week with no response. I was starting year 3 both times it happened, so if they don’t respond to me I won’t restart the game it takes way way too much time, and I’ve already done it once and put money into it. No thank you.

A Need for Energy. I downloaded this app fairly recently, probably somewhere in November of 2018. The graphics are really good, the storyline is promising- it's actually a really good game. It gave me the feeling that I was actually at Hogwarts! I could make friends, investigate suspicious things, and have fun with my house mates. And, the overall story arc is well thought out and intriguing. There is only one thing that made me uninstall it. Yes, it was that big of a problem for me. Every activity you do, you need energy to complete. And you only have 25 energies after a long recharge. Which means, it could take hours to complete a task and move on. And, what is even more pressuring, is that these tasks have time limits. Which means if you don't have enough energy to complete them at a single time, you have to wait and risk losing your progress if the time is up while you are waiting for the energy recharge. I'm not sure if it's able to be done, but once I got to a certain point, I was at a standstill. Every time I tried to get to a new level, I would miss the time limit. Even through I tried to love this game as much as I could, and even though this game is a very lovable game, I had to give up due to me not being able to get out of first year. I hope someday, someone is able to get past the first year level and have true fun with the game. It has serious potential, I'm just sad I couldn't get to it. Maybe I will try again in the future.

Pretty fun, but…. I’ve been playing this game for a long time, and there are a lot of great things about it. The storyline is interesting. I really like that it takes place before Harry Potter was at Hogwarts, but still has so many familiar and favorite characters. I also appreciate how there are different ways to acquire the items you need to purchase new pets/clothes/creatures/etc. You CAN use real money to get notebooks and coins and gems, but if you’re patient, you don’t have to. You can grind classes or other activities and, eventually, you’ll have enough notebooks to adopt a new creature or change your pet’s appearance. That’s nice. I hate when games make you spend money to get in-game items. My biggest issue with this game is the freaking time limit on quests. I don’t have time to play all day every day, so when I only have a few days to complete an adventure that I really want to do (hello, Occamy?), I can’t complete it. Also, having 8-hour tasks in anything BUT classes is absolutely ridiculous. It takes SO much energy to complete five stars in an 8-hour task. How frustrating! ESPECIALLY when it’s in a timed event! Ugh. Or when there’s a huge wait time between tasks in a timed event. It’s just a cheap shot at people’s wallets to try and make them buy the speed-up toffee or whatever it’s called. I just hate that crap.

Good but room for improvement. I enjoy this game despite the energy system. It’s a stretch to call it an RPG as the roles and choices are limited and restrictive. But it is enjoyable. I have two suggestions for changes. The most annoying thing about the game is the inconsistent system during lessons and earning stars to complete the lesson and move forward in the story. Sometimes energy is used to its max, in that if you use five energy points and only needed one to get the next stars, the star meter will give you all five energy points, progressing past the star. This is the least common scenario. What usually happens is that in the same scenario, using five energy points when only one is needed, you’ll lose the other four, and there’s a hard stop at the star. I hope this makes sense. Yes, sometimes it’s possible to get the exact number you need to get the star, but more often than not, it is not possible. I would like to think that this isn’t the developers’ strategy to make more money by forcing people to buy gems. Maybe it works for some people. Imo, this is bad design. If you’re going to have an energy system, make it consistent and fair. Updated: I have noticed now that you get the unneeded energy back if you give five and only needed two to get another star. the other three will return to your energy queue. Very nice change, much appreciated. :)

A Surprising Gem. I wasn’t expecting anything too flamboyant, but this game has truly sucked me in. I feel immersed in the environment, and the lack of control is made up for by the amazing cinematic as well as the story-telling. The character designs are extraordinary, and remind me of The Sims with their fun expressions and looks. The only major downside I have come across is the energy and currency system. If you run out of energy, you need to wait to refill said energy or purchase more using gems. The gems are tremendously expensive... Almost laughably so. To put it in perspective, a simple hairstyle can cost upwards of about 250 gems which is the equivalent to around $10 real currency. I don’t understand the reasoning behind such obvious overcharging. I really wouldn’t mind paying money just to unlock the game’s full potential and not worry about “energy consumption” and what not. I usually don’t buy mobile games, but this one is worth it. I at least hope they consider the option to release the game in it’s entirety for those who would want to make a one-time purchase. Currently the energy and currency system takes away from the fun. Overall: a great, well-designed, immersive, enjoyable etc. game that has potential to be one of the best mobile games out at the moment.

Not what we hoped for. I, like many others, hoped that this game would truly allow you to explore Hogwarts. I understand that’s quite a bit for an app, but surely it isn’t impossible. Let’s go over all the bad stuff first.. You basically have no choice but to follow the story line. You cannot interact with other characters unless prompted to do so. You need to unlock your lessons as the game progresses just as you can unlock certain parts of the castle as you move years while we know that in the books/movies, most of these classes and places are available to us. There are many inaccuracies with the dialogue and where characters are in certain chapters and the graphics could really be a smidge better. Also, where are the voices?? This game would’ve been better if it was a little more like the Sims or even allowed other players to show up in your game. I dislike that I cannot make my own choices and that certain tasks take so long to become available. I would’ve paid for the game outright to avoid some of these things. I know you’re trying to make gameplay a little longer, but with the money that you could’ve made just asking us to purchase the game instead of making it free, would’ve made so much of a difference and allowed the developers more of an option to take on these tasks. Otherwise, this game isn’t awful. The story is interesting and I enjoy the side tasks and classes. But for the HP fandom, it just needs MORE.

Bad Energy Usage Setup, amazing otherwise. For a free mobile game this is stunningly beautiful and involved so I’m grateful for that. Also getting to explore Hogwarts as “my own” experience. However like many of the reviews mention the energy system is a cash grab and honestly takes almost all of the fun out of the game. I’ll be finishing out of principal and my obsession with HP, but that’s the only reason why. I’m only on year two and it takes all of my energy to do half a lesson, then you wait almost two hours for it to refill. I wouldn’t mind waiting a day if I could actually play for an hour or so straight. Also the game could’ve had more creativity with the story line and maybe extracurricular activities. Instead you just click to accomplish things, do classroom time not learning to unlock lessons, and basically do whatever the game wants you to do. Most of the choices given to you only affect what rewards you get but not the storyline or what you do, and now in Year 2 I cant even pick most of the choices because my levels aren’t adequate. That is pretty irritating since the game is so structured. The only real change you can make is in your friend choice and the game gives you 3 and lets you focus more on certain ones so it doesn’t matter much. Most of the creativity and choosing is early on then it levels out and you just click and wait and click and wait. I hope a better, updated game from the HP universe comes out soon. This was a disappointment

Super Fun and addictive game!. This game is great! Being able to design your own character, play quidditch, duel, and interact with familiar characters is amazing. As a long time Harry Potter fan, being able to explore the castle is such a fun experience, and I especially love the new mini-games, such as the scavenger hunts and first person spell-casting. The side quests are all exciting, and all the possibilities are amazing. I am completely addicted. The energy taking so long is… annoying, but understandable. I get that you have to make money. I’d love to be able to watch more ads (something I never thought I would say) to speed things up, but overall its a smart design, seeing as it makes me spend hours on the game. However, sometimes when I open the game it takes like 20 minutes or longer to open, and when moving around Hogwarts the little logo/crest just bobs up and down, up and down. When that happens I’ll pull up a movie or something, but hopefully you could fix that in the future? Additionally, when watching ads to speed up wait times and get energy, gems or coins, my game will freeze, over and over and over. I have to close the app and open it again. Pretty annoying, but not the end of the world. Overall it’s a great game, would recommend, although not to anyone who doesn’t enjoy hours of life being sucked out of them.

Pretty Awesome, But... I love playing this game because it allows me to take a dive into the potter world like I’ve always wanted since I was a kid. I love the graphics and the accuracy to the world; however, the energy points to complete different tasks (lesson, games, etc) can be a bit annoying and is similar to some other games. I understand why they made that the way to play, but I wish gaining energy was easier and faster. I really dislike games that use real time to allow you to progress because it’s just not practical in the real world. I would rather have the time cut down and (instead of hours, minutes with a max of 1 hr). This way the game doesn’t become slow with not much to do after energy is spent up. I understand the enticement factor, but I end up getting frustrated and forgetting about it. Also, I wish it was a bit more interactive, like opportunities to discuss with other students and more ways to move around instead of “keep playing” or locked. I also wish we could play during the time of Harry Potter and friends but that may be too much to ask. Anyways, it’s a fun game and the graphics are awesome, but I wish there was more to do during down time that doesn’t require energy or gems. I also wish it was a bit more interactive around the sets. All in all, a great game if you are patient and really love Harry Potter like me!

Improvements and addins. Hi Devolpers!! I want to tell you that your game is awesome!! It’s fun! It’s exciting! And much much more! But there is one thing the energy and the gems. You barely have any gems and the clothes and pets cost way too much. Could you maybe dial the prices down a tad bit please that would be awesome 😊 and also can you make a 2 Hogwarts mystery where your character could have found out the he/she has a long lost sister that went to Hogwarts and you are on a quest to find her. And her name could be…Elena. And on the first one could you add a thing where you can make your own clothes and you could have typing on your clothes with different fonts and stuff like that. Oh and can you also add mini games too. I know it is a little much to ask but that would get you five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ok back to the energy thing could you maybe make it where we get 4 energy every 30 sec thx 🙏 and can y’all make this thing where we can like go to a summer carnival or something like that every summer and every winter ❄️ we could have a winter carnival and so on. Oh and also could y’all add a thing where we can have cheer tryouts (for witches) at the beginning of year two as a side quest? Please? Oh and a fan question do y’all actually get to work with J.K Rowling? Answer As soon as y’all can thx 😊

Glitches - please fix 🙁. Below I described the problems I'm having but a new one has come up and that’s when I purchase items from the store for the purpose of earning courage/empathy/knowledge points, I get the item but no points. 🙁 I love this game but recently a few glitches popping up. When I purchased a bundle, I was alerted by my credit card attached to the App Store that it charged me more than triple the original bundle. When I got the receipt, it showed I was charged for 3 different bundles. I am in the process of getting 2 of the 3 bundles refunded. Also, when sitting down for a meal with a friend, even if I got max stars the level meter for my friend would just repeat to the same space if not less than before the meal (e.g. friend is on grade 1. I have a meal and earn max stars and I end a little less than grade 1). Another issue popping up is when I completed a task, it wouldn’t register as complete and was stuck on that level of with all star won (e.g. watching Fang and I get all stars but I can still tap on characters and lose energy but the time is at 0 and all stars are filled). The only thing that helped was I switched to clothing option, changed clothes and when I went back it showed I completed the task. Just a head’s up for the developers. Love the game other than these very recent issues.

Great Game-but I need one more thing. This game is so much fun, besides that one annoying thing we always complain about: the energy. Maybe 1 energy every 1 min and 30 secs? Besides that, there is another thing that really annoys me. All this talk about quidditch, and yet I never get to play. The first year(I’m year four now) I was really looking forward to kicking Merula’s buttocks in a quidditch match when I realised they don’t actually play. The characters talk quite a bit about the annual game, and I don’t see any of it. Other than these two problems, I’m really enjoying the new update! The animals that’ve been added are soooo cool like the spider and kneazel. The magizoology concept is awesome too. Tbh though I don’t really understand why there are different colored notebooks(and it’s overwhelming)and it’s kinda difficult to get them. Maybe we could be able to get 1 notebook every class? I love how easy it is to get treat bags though! The grasslands, forests, lake, and volcanic area are so beautiful; those graphics were done amazingly well. Although, I still think the basic/original things like the main character walking, making different facial expressions, moving in any way, etc still need to be polished. All in all, the game is so much fun. However, I hope this seemed less of a “review” and more of like a suggestion’s box. Love most of what’s going on so far, though!!🐍💚💚

This game is really fun to play. I started playing this game on May 2022 to see if the game was just like the adds, when I played it it was just like the adds. This game never lagged , glitched, etc+ (it still doesn’t). I showed my cousin this game on like the Easter of 2023. She loved really enjoyed it! I remember that I had to restart my entire progress because (this was not a glitch) I wanted to change my gender because at first I chose boy for some reason whatsoever then I restarted my progress to be a girl. My only thing that I am sad about is that if you want to change your gender you would have to delete your progress and I think you should probably change that because someone could be a boy and then like be in the second year eighth chapter and then wanting to be a girl then having to restart your entire progress from the beginning (that would be really sad). The only thing I absolutely hate is that when the game is loading it takes like 10 minutes, this might just be my internet connection or it just could be my phone. Also I sometimes just hate how sometimes you have to wait 7 hours just to be able to do the thing a some people don’t have enough of the fast forward candy stuff. Otherwise I really enjoy to play this in my free time.

Please make energy time shorter!!. I have been playing this game for a few months, and am currently in year 2. I love this game so much! I love the storyline and side quests. However, I do have one small suggestion that will make your game infinitely better... could you please shorten the energy waiting time? Four minutes is a long time to wait for one energy, and that’s about 2 hours to wait for a full bar (my bar is currently only at a max of 28 energy’s). I, along with many other people, would love the game more of you could just shorten the waiting time by one or two minutes. It really cuts it close when a quest or class I’m in is about to end and I still waiting for more energy! I know a ton of people also have this same problem, and would be very happy if you shortened the time to two minutes. I have a couple friends who stopped playing this game, solely because the energy took too long to regenerate. Tons of people have left the game because of this one, easily fixable problem. Also, I’m not allowed to spend money on this app, since I’m still under the age of 18 and my parents won’t let me. I don’t have very many gems to buy energy with. This leaves me no other option to get energy than waiting. Developers, I am begging you, please shorten the energy wait time to two minutes per energy! It’s so frustrating to have to wait for four minutes for one energy.
