HOPR Transit Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

App is crap. Visiting Atlanta and downloaded this so I could take a bike ride, and even though I have a credit card in there it won’t allow me to buy credits, what a waste of time.

Garbage. App doesn’t work. No text codes to complete enrollment. Call support just says this is an ongoing issue they will report to development team. Just an awful service and a complete waste of time.

Wouldn't recommend. It was easy enough to sign up and use the bike but that thing was so heavy and slow that going up the slightest of hills was more work than it was worth. We just hopped off and walked - much nicer

Not worth it. The app kept crashing, app way to difficult to navigate, and the instruction to lock and unlock the bike is unclear.

Not Functional. The QR codes on two of the bikes wouldn’t scan. One bike worked and began charging while I waited for my husband to unlock his own bike. All other bikes said they were unavailable. I ended up paying $3 to unlock and then re-lock my bike since we couldn’t get a second one. Not impressed.

Don’t waste your time, just walk. What a crap bike. Barely went faster than walking and seat was very uncomfortable. Then when I parked it told me I was in a zone I couldn’t so had to ride back two blocks and leave it! Unbelievably bad experience.

Parking. Way. Way to hard to find a designated spot to park. Why can’t you have directions built in to find parking??? In your app

Issue Unlocking Yet Still Charged. First time user…wouldn’t let me start my ride. I couldn’t unlock it yet I kept getting charged.

This is A HORRIBLE user experience.. Requires $25 minimum balance. Numerous monthly Subscriptions and auto-renew pushed to make billing overwhelming. Credit card not working but No error message. Doesn’t work with Apple Pay or PayPal or Venmo. App put me in an infinite loop of trying to Checkout with no feedback or error message. Calling support does not offer help with CC. Most apps and websites have had billing figured out for almost 20 years. You can easily tell this experience was not designed, developed, or tested by professionals in America. Cut corners on experience, offering a bunch of subscriptions no one understands or wants or needs, and creating friction for users.

Buggy app, poor bike quality. Almost all of the bikes had flat tires, and it took 20 minutes to unlock the bike. Really poor experience. Seems like a hacky operation

Nice Evening ride. It was pretty easy to set up and add an extra rider and enjoy!!

HOPR scooter. Very rough ride, tire felt like it kept rubbing. Payed for credit of $25 met with some family along the way and where super disappointed that we couldn’t pause the ride anywhere we went only unless near a bike share place. Ridiculous, literary have to pay to stop. The scooters go very slow speed. I had to scan my license to use so why only allow 5/8 mph, on top of feeling like it needs to be serviced!

Poor quality all around!. Poor quality !

Joke of a company. The bikes are in HORRIBLE condition, barely rideable. Charges you full price of a day even if you use it for half an hour while ive rode on a different bike with a any other company and you get charged per minute. The app is dated and buggy. 0 customer service readily avalaible. Go out of business already please youre taking up perfectly good bike spaces for WORKING bikes. Do not waste your time, money and patience.

Great Ride. What a great advantage to having these bikes at work. Tires definitely need to be filled up a little bit more and some bikes a little hard to unlock. Other than that it was perfect.

So much fun!. It was wonderful to ride through the city on the old train routes! Rode to botanical gardens in the view is amazing so much to explore on the way way better than riding the bus! I will say it was hard to find the hub to return the bike.

That was fun. That was super fun an easy way to get around town!

Zero stars. I wish there was a way to give something zero stars. Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had with a service. Awful awful awful.

Pretty cool. I was walking home and wanted to try one out. Literally this thing is awesome. I want one lol. Hella fun. Just wish there were more parking locations.

1199 only went 9 miles per hour. This one might need some repair But super fun.

Kluge. Took a half an hour. RoomPlace took another 20 minutes to end the ride. Try a focus group. This app is a joke.

The whole concept is awful.. This company has a lot of fine tuning to do. From terrible server connection, to inaccurate charges, to misleading information about what deals are for specific areas, to much more. I had to call customer service five times in a 30min span just to start my ride, get it to stop beeping like it’s being stolen, and to even end the ride after multiple failed attempts. And yes, I followed the basic three steps which are not always accurate. I heard the beep after locking it and ending my ride, only to find out it kept charging me over the next hour. If you’re going to have a basic app, at least make sure it works properly all the way through for someone to actually enjoy using your terrible service. I hate that people are stuck with these in certain areas as their only option. My one star is for their customer service. Like FOB said, “thanks for the memories even though they weren’t so great.” If you’re used to Lime or Birds, save your time with these. Back to the drawing board gang!

Don’t use this. Loaded money into the app. I tried to use the bike and every bike wouldn’t work. I tried to get my money back and customer service was like “once you paid we can’t refund you”. Here I am trying to use it and the app won’t let me login. Don’t even bother.

Helpful. I was able to find my car thanks to this bike service thank u Thank you

Would not end when I parked it charged me extra $$$ also one was broken. Would not end when I parked it charged me extra $$$ also one was broken

Terrible interface. There are easier apps to use, dont waste your time trying to make this one work.

Just walk. Tried to use this service in St. Petersburg Florida. I’m not sure they could make it any harder to use. Just walk.

Dumb. None of the bikes available. Finally found one that is but wouldn’t unlock. Still got charged.

Few bikes available in Atlanta. You cannot see online how many bike or bike stations are available in a location. Had to download the app, enter phone number and email address to find out that (when I checked) there were only seven bicycles available in all of Atlanta. Deleting app less than an hour after downloading.

Charged 2 times and way more than what I should’ve been charged. Inaccurate information on the receipt

Trash app. Absolute scam. Over charged by $5 when I was unable to end my ride. The beep after locking never came and the charging continued. After 20 minutes I called my credit card company to dispute the charge which was ultimately how I resolved the problem. I’d advise against using this company if possible.

Too expensive, pause fail. I rented in St. Pete FL cost $10 to go one mile. Paused for coffee and bike refused to unlock. When I tried to park the bike in designated area full of HOPR bikes, app said I wasn’t in designated area and would have to pay another $3. Finally dragged bike 100 yards to avoid fee. Never again.

Bikes are very poor condition. I live in St. Petersburg Florida and we bought the annual pass thinking it would be a great idea. At least every three out of four bikes that we attempt to unlock and use are either broken or will not unlock or have some other type of issue. The idea is great but the actual product is horrible and it does not seem like this company replaces or fixes their equipment often enough.

Does not work. You can’t even sign in. The app shows a comically ridiculous “verify your information” form with no instructions on what to verify, and no way to move forward. I deleted this app.

Horrible experience. My bike had broken gears and a bent front tire making it hard to operate. I had to find the closest hub spot to drop it off. I want my money back.

Great, but need maps. A feature that would pull up maps to get you to the bikes, would be great. Also I’m at feature tracking route to be nice too.

Terrible experience. Terrible bike that shifted gears. Multiple charge that are dishonest. Thought it was 20 for the day and that’s it. Instead it’s 20 for a pass then an additional charges per minutes.

Not worth the time. Walk. On first 2 bikes the electric assist didn’t work. We tried a blue to peddle and wasted another 20 minutes as it said it unlocked and started ride but it didn’t unlock. I had to call.

Don’t bother. Horrible product -all bikes seems to be consistently damaged. Horrible billing - double charged me multiple times and charged me when a ride wouldn’t actually unlock. Horrible customer service - when I contacted them directly to let them know my bike was not functioning after riding 2 miles, they let me know there’s nothing they could do and that I would be charged for leaving the bicycle outside of their Hub. I highly recommend you don’t waste your time with this scam of a company

Try to add a bike at $20 per day too complicated. Tried to add a bike at $20 a day too complicated ended up paying by the minute which cost me more than $20.

What a mess. 1. Most scanned bikes don’t work 2. Gear lines worn and don’t work 3. Thinks I’m in a different location 4. Won’t unlock a bike after finally connecting Horrible experience

DO NOT USE - Trust the ratings. I have now tried every scooter/bike company in the area and this is BY FAR THE WORST. Trust the other poor reviews and pick another company. I’m begging you. I wanted to try out these bikes instead of the scooters, hoping for a more controlled ride. These bikes are hard to use with terrible brakes (on all 4 that my family used). The “pause” button keeps charging you, and for one of us the bike got stuck locked while the app couldn’t unlock it. My bike’s chain kept skipping and I almost fell off going through an intersection. The handlebars were stiff and worst of all it was extremely expensive. $70 for four of us for a half hour due to extraneous charges. NEVER AGAIN.

Over paid. Not a lot of info on how to use for the day as I was over charged.

No good. Website won’t allow me to search for my location. App malfunctions and does not work due to an unspecified error.

Poorly designed rental system. You can only park at a designated hub. Even though you are in the location, your phone may drift slightly outside of the radius. I spent 2-3 minutes trying to get it in the right spot, all the while it kept charging me. Not the best rental for a stop and go trip.

Overcharge. I got charged $3 form parking “outside of the Hub” when I parked it in the same spot I got the bike from

Do not recommend. Not sure why this is the only bike/scooter share in the area, wish there were others. No mater what, they will charge you the 30 day plan purchase, even if you select the 20 minute option. So resist the temptation to test this company out, you will be charged the full 30 day plan. I’m really hoping they don’t try to bate and switch with the monthly auto renewal. I’ve made sure that was not selected on my account but that totally seems like something this company would do. Bikes and scooters are also rarely at the location on the GPS. Recommend avoiding this ride share

Less than one star. Extremely disappointed. Do they even check to make sure these bikes work? The gears wouldn’t work at all and the tires were flat. I better be getting my money back for this poor excuse of a ride

Horrible.. Very expensive. The app locked up, then the bike wouldn’t unlock so had to restart the app, which then charged me another initial fee. It turned into a $25 bike ride. Use only in an emergency.

Disappointed. The app is not user-friendly and burns up quite a bit of time when you are trying to use multiple bikes. In addition, we rented electric bikes and were charge for electric bikes that did not work and had to get manual bikes. The bikes are extremely uncomfortable.

Unsatisfied and Disappointed. Bike didn’t lock, so it charged me for 3 days until they went to the bike and lock it manually. Customer service never answers the phone.

Couldn’t use. Interface was hard to use. One bike didn’t work Waisted 1.5 hour of vacation trying to get this to work.🙁

Hidden charges that are non consensual. This app is completely terrible, and charges you $20 for no reason.

Trash. trash

Ubc. Great bikes however there were 3 of us and one bike would not unlock... it took over 25 min to get through and although the agent was very pleasant we never got our ride in. Great idea and equipment if everything is working

Useless app that doesn’t work. I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada and they have there bikes in ontario but the app doesn’t let us help us find the bikes WTF this is the most useless app I have ever used and seen please fix this problem

AVOID!! Worst customer service. I got a monthly membership but the app still billed me for individual trips. I messaged twice in the app and then called customer service when no response after a day, reached customer service once and they had no idea what was wrong and told me to call them back in 48 hours (versus calling me back because it was their problem). I’ve called dozen of times now but always told to leave a message that no one ever calls back.

Non-existant customer service. Worse than poor customer service: their customer service doesn’t exist. Whether you email, call, submit a ticket through the app, the customer service NEVER gets back to you. The app is super glitchy and has typos galore. It’s too bad, because when it does work, it’s actually pretty awesome and I love the concept. I’ve been using the bikes daily to get to and from work. I love the convenience, but I wish they’d fix the glitches, stop over-billing me, fix the typos, and respond to my customer service concerns.

Never could get the verification code to set up the app. I was extremely disappointed in this app I tried to register multiple times through multiple emails using the same phone number. I haven’t been given a verification code through that phone number, and therefore could never sign up with the app. Really disappointing as I would’ve seen value in using the service What a waste of my time.

Terrible. Old bikes, no gears, difficult app doesn’t tell you where the bike lock is when you and your ride, no tech-support on the end of the phone, barcode doesn’t scan to end the ride only just to start it.

No Apple Pay?!?. Would be better if it accepted Apple Pay. I’m reticent to give my credit card to yet another app lest it auto renews. I’d rather pay for a month at a time with Apple Pay. The other reviewers are saying the customer service is lacking this another reason I’m not handing over credit info. Maybe Ottawa should just get Bixi instead.

Need more hubs!. There are not enough hubs on campus. You end up walking and saving no time or if you park outside the hub you pay $2! Too bad I just bought a $15 monthly pass🙃

No bikes available at Carleton.... I’m also wondering where the bikes are on campus! Is there a way to locate them on the app??

Jonathan. The signal hasn’t been satisfactory. I tried several times before unlocking a bike for the first time

Great idea but garbage app.. More than half the time I cannot unlock the bikes. I just get a “failed to unlock” error message. It’s too bad, because I would use it every day if it worked.

No Apple Pay. No support for Apple Pay is a big downside to this app. I don’t want to share my card info all the time, plus it just make the process slow as this is yet another app that wants me to input that info. Well, I’m not doing that

App not working. In Vancouver app will not save any profile information. It will not save any credit card information. Wallet will not save information.

Unresponsive unlock button. Nothing happens when I press the unlock button. Makes the app and my membership totally worthless. I love the concept and had a good week riding until it stopped working altogether. Can't cancel my pass from the app either...

Not worth it. Finding a parking spot is a pain.

0259 has no brakes. 0259 has no brakes

Major bugs in payment and app. There have been so many issues with payment in this app and it has a lot to do with the fact that much of this app does not work, as several pages do not load and it does not reflect your account accurately. UBC needs to get rid of HOPR and try again with a new service that has a more robust app and payment service.

Serves a purpose, not great. It does its job as far as let’s you unlock bikes and use. For that it gets the stars.however it does it very poorly. There are no FAQ or rules/explanations of how to use on the app or even online. They have 5 pictures that show the basics but nothing past that. The app will glitch and sometimes not recognize that you’ve locked the bike, leaving you with no bike and still paying for using it. Also adds other service charges to your credit card with no explanation as to why. Beware of app

Can’t unlock bike. Tried 5 different bikes, each time it said failed to unlock. How can I trust your app will lock the bike up properly, if you can’t even unlock the bike in the first place. This has so much promise, come on guys get your act together.

Unreliable. I like the service but the app takes forever to load and I just tried to open the app and it took a good 5 minutes of opening the app, it not loading then crashing, and me trying again. I also all too frequently will get a message that the bike cannot be unlocked and to try again. Usually I have to try two bikes before it works and do multiple scans of each. If the bike is reserved and that’s why I can’t unlock it then it should say that. If reserved bikes do display a different message then I have no idea why this is happening and why is happens so often. It is extremely frustrating, greatly slows down my trip, and means if I want to feel comfortable I will be able to unlock a bike I have to find a spot with multiple bikes. The unreliableness of the app really kills the appeal of this service.

Cannot end ride. Ending a ride is a basic function HOPR is supposed to have, and today I can’t end my ride because the lock can’t close. The worst thing is I submitted the feedback and tried my best to contact with HOPR, and yet I have no response from HOPR at all. So disappointed with your representatives.

Love it. Top of the line service for casual biking! The Ottawa sector is amazing and easy to use! Great customer service as well.

Wrong payment! Avoid downloading!. This app just took $20.01 for no reason. I haven’t used this since last year. I find it highly problematic that the payment system is so flimsy and the support provided by them to resolve such issues is not up to par.

Beware of the memberships, hard to cancel.. Can’t cancel the memberships on the app. Really hard to get ahold of customer service. They auto renew memberships, and really hard to cancel. Your better off renting from a local provider, at least your able to talk to someone if you have any problems.

HOPR is SCAM!! BEWARE!! NOT RELIABLE!!. Here’s my experience with HOPR. At first, I thought HOPR was the smartest thing ever. But the more I used it, the more flaws arose. 1. It is hard to locate HOPR parking. The HOPR app only shows parking locations but isn’t helpful enough to show where exactly those locations are. I wasted an extra 10 minutes of charge because I couldn’t find a parking location. It’s also really inconvenient since u have to hold ur phone while ur biking. AKa dangerous. 2. Extra Charge. ONTOP of not being able to find parking, they charged me an extra $2 since the bike couldn’t register that it was parked in the correct location. But it was. Right in the square, although the square was father than usual from the sign which could’ve been the reason as to why it didn’t register. But that shouldn’t happen. Cuetomers should have to pay the price of HOPR’s inability to draw the square in the correct location. This inconsistency is a big drawback of this app. 3. The quality of the bikes are disappointing. U got to be super lucky one day to be able to get a bike in an ok condition. They either have semi broken brakes, or ripped chairs ar damaged handles. 4. If ur in a rush, find a more reliable way of transportation. It’s extremely difficult to find a parking location unless u are already familiar with the area. Plus, the app might charge u extra if the parking location is not in a busy area (in my case, it was behind a building). I say this because that’s exactly what happened to me. If ur a student, just bring ur own bike. But a cheap one if ur scared of getting it stolen. Don’t trust that HOPR will save you time. It has never for me.

Parking needs better signs. Took me a few minutes to locate parking

Unreliable app. The app crashes a lot. Sometimes the ride doesn’t end even tho you locked it causing unnecessary stress

Ride fine.. Ride fine. Parking unreasonably inconvenient

Bad. Bought a 30 day pass and HOPR is still charging me per ride and minute.

UBC should have dropped bike sharing for good. HOPR’s pay per use fees are ridiculous. Its cheaper to take a 5 minute evo home from ubc than it is to take a 10-15 minute HOPR.

Bikes wouldn’t work unlock. We tried at least 5 bikes that didn’t work. Needed 4 bikes for our family. Was very difficult to find 4 that worked.

Charged more although at a bike rack. Seat broken and brakes were not good.. Charged more although at a bike rack. Seat broken and brakes were not good.

Doesnt work. App crashes consistently on pressing unlock. I’d like a refund.

Bike broken. Bike broken

Brakes do not work pedals skip piece of junk. Not a good product

POOR RIDE. Scooter was stuck on 5mp the entire time

Do Yourself a Favor and Listen to the Reviews. Don’t use this app. I paid 28 dollars for an hour and a half ride of which a half an hour was at a coffee shop. The pause does not stop the meter, when I stopped locked the bike it was at $8.50 and 30 minutes later I unlock it and it’s at over $18, the time and cost didn’t even make sense. Also, when I tried to start it up again to return, I had to prepay 10 dollars when it only cost $3.50 to return. I don’t live in Florida so I’m out that cash as well. This is an extremely glitchy and sketchy company and app. I don’t know how they’re in business. The BBB should be investigating this company.

Don’t work. App don’t work

Junk. Bikes don’t unlock, pricing unclear. Total junk bike service.

CARD CONCERNS !!!!DO NOT GET APP!!!!. Do not get this app. Wanted to remove payment method before deleting app but could not find the removal button within app. Reached out to customer service so they can remove it…they said billing has removed it from the system BUT my card still appears on the app. Reached back out and this was my response…” I apologize for the confusing app. I can assure you that your card information is no longer accessible to us and we are not able to charge your card. I will forward this case to our app developer but in the meantime, we are not able to change how your card appears in our app.” That DOES NOT put me at ease because if I click on my payment method IT WILL CHARGE. ALL and ANY APPS needs to be able to remove payment methods! Please fix!!!

Great App! Product and Service was Great!. HOPR has some bikes at WeWork, I used one today. Great and easy to use, went from the office to Nikki Beach and back. Bike was great, little basket in the front for stuff, gears worked and easy to lock / unlock. The summary told me that I burned like no calories and only went 3.5 miles but it was a great time to enjoy South Beach Miami.

Terrible app that overcharges. Rip off

13 dollars for a few miles?!!. Outrageous erroneous charge for a few mile bike ride.

Ehh. The maintenance on these bikes is awful

Confusing parking system. The app needs more instructions s. We picked up bikes that we found easily, but returning to a station was a pain as the map was difficult to find return stations.I was charged double and could t reach customer service. It was a great experience to begin with but ended in a frustrating manner because the return was unclear and I couldn’t return the bike to where I found it or I would be charmers $20. Disappointing overall.

Won’t disengage. I need a refund asap. Won’t disengage

Horribly maintain bikes. Total rip-off.

John thinks hopr is a flopr. I’ve tried two bikes. Neither has worked. No one in the call center. Epic fail.

Crap bike. Bike in horrible condition

More like hopeless. Terrible bike switched gears without notice then had diff riding

annoying. difficult. got one bike but not easy to add another. once added, neither of the other two bikes would unlock even the review is annoying….nickname taken

Terrible review. Had a terrible experience. Whenever I tried to pause the bike it ended up just locking me out when my paused time was up. The bike my friend was on was broken and he could only ride it for 5 minutes. We had an issue with another bike as well. So I paid for 3 bikes and was only able to ride one bike for 15 minutes before it locked me out. Plus since the bikes locked me out I wasn’t able to return it to the proper location and will probably be charged for that as well. Terrible.

Fun ride but need to be able to add riders before ride starts.. Fun!

TERRIBLE !!!!!. Where do I begin, I ditched the scooter for this, hoping for a safer more controlled ride. I even looked it up to confirm that it was an E bike before I went ahead and started my ride. This vehicle is barely an E bike, the only thing the electrical feature adds to this bicycle is the heaviness. Difficult to pedal, requires a lot of legwork and muscle work. I parked it at a hub, and it is telling me that I’m parking it outside of a hub I already submitted a complaint for that as well. I better not get charge for it being parked out of a hub when it is literally inside of a hub. I would not recommend this ride to anyone, you guys should label it as a workout bike and not an electric bike. It’s definitely not for convenience, definitely for a strong workout

Do not ride!. The cost for these bikes is ridiculous. $0.25 a minute!? How are you suppose to enjoy a leisurely ride when you are being charge this much. Also the pause feature is useless. We paused to enjoy a coffee and were continually charge for the whole pause time!? Even though they had us select an amount of time for the pause. There was no notice that we would be charged the entire pause time. DO NOT rent/ride these. A waste of your money.

Complaint about the parking problem. HOPR used to be great, until it forbid me to part in slot (I guess it’s the program’s problem, it shows I’m in the green parking lot but the bike isn’t) 1 minute before midterm exam. The design doesn’t take the perspective of users. When I lock the bike and it tells me to move, I don’t know I can resume and I find it when I almost give up moving. The bike location update is too slow; and thus even when I’m in the green area the blue bike line is not. But it’s still the only available option if you don’t want to buy a bike.

Theft. Thieves

Trash. Trash

App is unusable. This app is unusable and severely autistic. I hope the creators of it have to deal with this level of inconveniencing on a daily basis.

Worst app I Have Ever Used. This app is the dumbest thing I have ever downloaded in my life. I would rather have a virus on my phone than this crap. In order to park the bike and end my ride, I had to bike ALL THE WAY BACK TO WHERE I STARTED. It just charged me $5 to ride to where I needed to go just to find out I couldn’t park it. So I had to call a representative who told me I had to go back to my starting location, which cost another $5 and defeated the purpose of the ride. The app does not inform you of drop off locations or anything of the sort. DO NOT USE THIS APP

Awful, costly glitches. I was so excited for dockless bikes and excited to try out HOPR. The interface looked simple - just scan out and lock bike at the end. However, I tried it on two different round trips, and both times were costly mistakes. The first time was my mistake (didn’t realize meter keeps going on a pause), since I couldn’t figure out how to park the bike out of a hub (it’s in tiny print under a huge warning to move to a hub) Thankfully, they did credit me for the time the bike was paused. On my second try, the bike never locked. After a 12 minute ride, I spent 45 minutes trying to lock the bike. After a call and several notes to customer service, I finally gave up and just left the bike unlocked. The trip ended at $20 (instead of a ride that should have been $3). I received an email from customer service “confirming that the bike had not locked” and wondering if I could “detail how I tried to lock the bike”. After this email- no response, reimbursement, nor credit, one week later. I’m extremely disappointed. This app needs a lot of work, but the company’s customer service needs more work. Also, the ads on this Cleveland launch claimed that your first ride is free when you download the app, but they falsely advertise this- there is no first free ride.

Locking mechanism bad. Need new bikes that actually unlock before charging you and lock back.

Terrible. Great in concept. Could not add second rider. First rider being charged for a ride that NEVER HAPPENED.

Great Service. With over 600 bikes available at UCSB, this system is great. Occasional glitches but customer service has always taken care of me. Very affordable when my bike got stolen. Now I don’t worry about my bike being stolen or broken. The 90 day pass is perfect for students as it covers the entire quarter. I got the annual pass as I can use this in Santa Monica, USF and other places that HOPR is. It’s awesome.

Terrible. Unable to unlock the bike

Coast Bikes..... Very heavy....hard for short people to get through mid bars. Not a great bike. Locks you in for $20....no 0ther options for less.

I feel scammed. Downloaded this app on vacation because I needed to get back to my hotel. The Uber prices were immense so this seemed like a cheaper option. I get on and they are extremely slow compared to Lime’s jump bikes. Plus they must be parked in there designated areas which are far and few between. If you don’t they slap a fine on your end fare. Also I’m used to the electric bike companies programmed to end the ride if your idle for more than 5 mins. Because I didn’t click in the lock mechanism all the way my ride ended up being 61$.

Great experience. I’ve been getting back into biking recently after not riding for a good few years now and man has it been fun. I first used it as a way to bike to COPR and then I used it at least once everyday for a week from Monday through Friday to see how it would be and it has a great experience. The app is easy to use and find bikes, and I like that I don’t have to worry about remembering where I park on campus (UCSB) thanks to the abundance of bikes around. Lockup is easy as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this bikeshare, especially if you are testing to see if you should buy a bike to ride on campus! As for the cost, I think that investing in a bike would be better if you plan to ride all two to four years and then after graduating, but if you don’t plan to ride a bike that often but occasionally want to, this is for you!

Flat tire, should not be charged. Bikes need maintenance

Not reliable. In Atlanta... For the purpose of regular bike sharing (multiple trips a week) and reliability, a lot of improvements can be made on accessing bikes and the unlocking mechanism. In my experience almost every trip requires attempting to unlock a single bike multiple times or trying to unlock multiple bikes in a single location just to be able to use one of them. In comparison to other major cities (Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington DC)... HOPR falls short and is frustrating every ride especially for those who rely on it

No light working. Light

Deserves no stars. Horrible app. Robs you of your money. This app does not work. Unlocking the bike each time was extremely difficult. The app would continuously freeze up and not allow payment or unlocking. We ended up paying over $60 to ride a bike around for a few hours. We tried to get two day passes but was not able to do so as we were later told you can only get one day pass per account. Yet they still charged us for two day passes, on top of the numerous other unknown charges. The app ended up completely malfunctioning and we had to abandon our bike, only to be charged another fee for not leaving it in a hub. Sadly, we paid over $60 and were forced to abandon our bikes mid day. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.

Loved ride. Terrible GPS. So fun to ride river walk.

Horrible Experience. This was not a good experience at all. From the beginning the app gives u no specific information on how much your ride will be or the duration of the ride. It makes u put your card info thinking your just adding the card but they won’t charge anything yet because you aren’t given an prices. Boy was I wrong! 2 seconds after putting my card in, a $20 charge hits without me authorizing or approving ANYTHING! Since money was already taken I ended up riding the bike foe about 20mins. The card on the bike itself says to park at a hub & lock. When I made to the hub to lock it, I got a message saying I wasn’t at a hub (even though I was). I asked the app to locate a huh & it didn’t not give any type of direction or guidance as to where the huh was. I will never ride ANYTHING by this company again. This was the worst experience ever.

Please Avoid. Bike did NOT UNLOCK and was charged! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t use. Beware. App is very buggy. Couldn’t start or stop a session with several attempts. After I got it started, it locked my bike right away and charged me a minimum ride. Then my friends had to wait why I tried to unlock another bike, which didn’t work. I had to walk to another hub while they were all being charged per minute. Tried to report an issue on the app and it was so buggy I couldn’t even submit it. Won’t use it again, and I’m calling my credit card to contest the charges.

Confusing. I picked up this bike and started writing it. When I tried to park it back where I found it,It said I would be charged $20 for parking out there. It was really hard to figure out where I was allowed to park the bike. Also, I had to pay again to unlock it in order to move it. Finally, I called the company and they told me where I could buy a park the bike. The app needs to have the parking sites clearly labeled and have more instructions in the app and on the bike itself.

App needs work. The app is not very user friendly. Trying to rent two bikes through one app, and trying to pay the $15 fee for the day as opposed to the $.15 per minute was more complicated than it should’ve been. Still not sure how to do both. Upon opening the app it gives directions on how/where to ride. But you kind of have to figure out the rest on your own. Within the app, there are no options to make any changes to the preset options. We spent 5 minutes trying to change the settings and finally gave up.

Love it!. I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are about. We just got these at UCSB and I’m so happy!! Had my first ride today. Set up was quick and easy. Took me about 3 minutes to download the app, set my card up and get riding. The bike was comfortable to ride, and had a basket for all my things. I am really thankful and excited that HOPR is an option! :)

Looks fun, not worth it!. Got together with friends to ride bikes for an hour or so. Wanted to ride another companies ($20/day) but it didnt work so we grabbed HOPRs. These are $1 plus $0.35 a min (for the math that’s about $20 an HOUR!). We didnt even get a quarter mile before one of our friends pedals fell off. Fixed it. Got another .2 mi before we ended up finding another for him to swap it out with. Both times we paused for about 5mins. There is no way for you to stop your ride while stopped. You can pause it but charges still apply and rack up either way. Friend with the broken bike go offered a $35/day pass which wasnt an option when we started. We would have gladly paid that... considering it costs us about $10 to go less than half a mile. We’re walking and grabbing a drink instead, I suggest you consider the same!

Flat tire. My tire was flat on my bike and I didn’t notice until I touched it. But when I did I canceled the ride quickly.

You’ll lose money. System does not work well.

I like the exercise. But the bikes are too old.

Unable to withdrawal. Was unable to withdraw unused credits
