Works well. All the other apps I tried we’re too intense. This app started me off slowly and gradually built me up. I would recomend this app to any fitness beginner.

Fingers crossed. So far this app seems great and I can’t wait to get started with using it everyday.

So far, it’s great!. I needed something simple to monitor my walks; to count my steps & calories burned ...& this app does that, but it also maps out my walk & saves my progress. It also asks me if I want to warm up b4 & after my walk. Additionally, when I walk away from my wifi connection, it doesn’t shut down. & if you have to stop intermittently to stretch, that’s ok too!

Tracks my distance. All I wanted was an app to help me figure out how far I’d be jogging if I did x amount of laps in a designated circle. This let me track that… other apps just wanted me to use their workout plans.

I knew after the first workout…NOPE. Tried to cancel after one day and it’s a nightmare. You can’t find any details within the app on how to cancel. Very disconcerting. The app itself is also weird; it said my workout was to be 40 min snd it was 80. Also the coach is not …well he and this app is just not for me.

You brought back the good stuff. Thank you for bringing back the voice prompts and total walk history. I have used this app successfully for over 2 years. During the time using the app I have walked over 650 miles. Although I’m doing a fitness challenge I like the stats I get when using the app Thank you again.

Very happy!. I’m in Week 2 of my Beginner Walk II plan. It’s a nice little app that encourages me to walk. I have owned a Fitbit for many years but I fell off the steps wagon a while back and struggle to complete my lowered goal of 5000 steps per day. This app is getting me back to regular walks and I’m already seeing improvement as I can walk the same route in less time. Thank you to the developers who read and implement changes based on the feedback section after every workout!

Rip off. The app is decent. But do not pay for a subscription. Even after paying for the subscription, I am still often and forced to wait five minutes for a subscription ad to pop up for something I’ve already paid for. The only reason to subscribe is to not have to wait 5-10 just to see an ad and more often than not I still must wait. You get nothing extra from subscribing.

Change screen order. Wanna see maps as I walk

Works good. App designers fixed all major issues, it now works smoothly, stops tracking after each use, saves consistently. Impressive for a free app, with excellent responsiveness to consumer questions and suggestions. Go for it!

Calorie Counter Stopped and 0 was Recorded at the end of a 5 mile Walk. I am new to this app and only on my 5th workou walk. The calorie counter stopped after one of my pauses and after walking over 5 miles the calories burned at the end of the workout is 0! Unbelievable and I am extremely frustrated as this is the furthest of all my walks. This is the second walk this has happened. The calorie functionality is basic and there should be no glitches at this point. I am unhappy with this app for this reason.

A+++. I love how enthusiastic Joe is, it really motivated me to get going. It’s always been hard for me to push myself but this app has completely changed that! Great app and absolutely worth 5 dollars a month.

Doesn’t track - too expensive. For the price, I’d expect a more professional feel to the app and accurate tracking. My second day shows 0 miles, however my Apple Health that it is linked to worked perfectly fine showing 1.57 miles…

Walk the inches off.. This app has been a great help when it comes to tracking my process. The accuracy of the minutes per mile and the distance has allowed me to reduce 2 inches from my waist. It’s a wonderful tool for a consistent lifestyle.

Most of the times, the ads are impossible to exit and a lot of the times, the walk does not save.. Most of the times, over 50% of the time, the ads won’t exit. Usually the candyland visually assaulting and frantic game ads. You have to exit the app, turn off phone and hope. Then, even when you hit save, the walk route/event doesn’t save so jo record of it happening. VERY ANNOYING

Steps counter. I was using a Samsung phone and was using Samsung health. When it was time to upgrade my phone my son talk me into getting a iPhone. And I went looking in the App Store for a similar app and found this one and so far it is really good.

Not really a good app if you don’t pay. So honestly I think the app has potential but I think you only get the good end of it if you pay for the subscription. There are endless ads when trying to start a challenge. I don’t recommend, I think the app Steps is better granted they don’t have challenges but it’s does count your steps so really you can just setup your own challenges. That’s what I get for trying to find another app to really see if the step counts are in fact correct.

Really like the app. Informative. I think the videos from joe are awesome and gets me fired up. I can’t wait to see the daily joe that’s coming out. Keep up the good work and keep me motivated.

Awful. Do not recommend this program at all. It shuts off in the middle of a walk without any warning so you have zero information about that work out. Very disappointed and will be deleting this and finding a new app that is reliable. Also I live in a big city with perfect cell service so that is not the issue.

Good Walking App. I’ve been using this app for over a year. It is a good app. My only questions would be is there a way to track historical information? For instance, YTD instead of just the past 30 days. I’d like to see cumulative data. Also, the Duration column, for November it says: 15:00:01 I know I walked / ran more than 15 hours total for November so I don’t know how to interpret 15:00:01 or what that number means or how it is determined. Thank you.

Walking. I love how I know exactly how how far I’m walking the time I do it in and everything my body is doing in the process! Love this!!

Great app for me. This app has been really helpful for me to get out and walk a few times a week. The biggest thing it has helped me with is weight loss. I have always struggled to lose weight around my hips especially. I tend towards a pretty sedentary lifestyle. I do love getting out in nature, I just find it difficult to motivate. Walkster has helped me get out more consistently and stay on track with walking plans that I actually stick to. I am definitely noticing a difference. I dropped all pant size which is fantastic (even though it’s a bit annoying that my pants don’t fit as well! Worth it!). It’s also been really great for my mental health to get outdoors a few times per week. I already notice a difference in my endurance, and I feel a mood uplift as well. Like a brain fog has lifted. The warm ups, exercises and videos are very helpful. The app is easy to use and gives me lots of useful information and walk history. All in all I rate this app 5 stars.

Stands out. Walk Before you Run stands out in a sea of apps that want you to become marathoners. Definitely refreshing, and keeps me motivated - the stretching suggestions have helped keep me pain free as well!

Yes!!!!!. This was exactly what I was looking for to get back into shape! It maps my route, tallies my distance, keeps track of time, gives me incentive and an ever increasing goal to aim for and rewards me when I do more. I love this app and it’s the only free app that has ever worked for me because it’s not full of annoying pop-ups and nonstop pitches to buy more.

Wish I could give it a Zero!. I’m surprised that the trail membership does not give you a better experience. I’ve been using this app for about 5 days now, and I have to fool around with it at least 10 minutes before I start my walk. It never picks up the location on the gps, it never shows me the route I’m taking.... it’s nothing like what was promised. Although I signed up for the year membership after the trial period, I’m canceling now. Total waste of my app space on my phone!

I love it. I love this app!! It helps me keep track of my walking and I am seeing results from my consistency

Walk Before You Run-Lose it. I have been wanting for a while to loose weight by diet and a walking program. I saw this app and it was my answer!! I just love it!! A program was created for me by answering a few questions. I started to follow my program ( very easy to follow) and walking became not only something I have to do but fun. I get a great feeling of accomplishment when I reach my goals!!! New walking programs are added all the time so I never run of plans to complete each month. I most have completed 10 plans since I started using the app. I feel so accomplished which keeps me walking everyday. I like the the warm up and stretches after all programmed for me as a beginner. I've shared the app with my friends and family who are now way more active then ever before. This app will make my weight loss goal easier to obtain.

Can’t wait to lose some weight. Great app if you’re looking for a guided plan to help you lose weight. Having a plan and tracking your progress is much better then walking without one. Seeing how far you’ve walked and how many calories you’ve burned is important if you want to see real progress.

Just track my walk. I liked this app and then there was an update. I just want something that will track the distance of my walk. No weight loss programs. No workouts. Just tell me the distance I walked.

Not much there for me. I purchased a one month subscription not realizing this app doesn’t easily sync to Fitbit. It can be done using a third party app but I’m not interested in doing that. Unless you have an Apple Watch this app will be of little use to you. Workouts are nothing special. I’ve already canceled.

Yuck. It doesn’t work for me. I pushed the start button and started walking. No sounds, so i just kept walking and glanced occasionally at my wristwatch. I turned back after fifteen minutes. When i got home and checked the app again, i saw that it never even started. It had me in a 39 second warmup. And i had to look at CB my old app to see how far i had walked. I’m very disappointed. Ruth

Missed the mark on all walking. This is not remotely geared toward indoor walking. The main screen picks up on your steps but doesn’t track on a treadmill. I walked the first two days of a challenge and it said I had a 48 minute mile and only went .25 miles. I understand it may be geared more towards outdoor walking but it’s been raining for the last week, so even if that we’re the case, if you had to do indoor walking to stay on track when it rains, it’s not accurate.

Running. Needs to be able to run over the last run u did

Glitches. The app recently got an overhaul, and I preferred the earlier version. I have my voice settings set to announce every 1 mile. But for some reason it now ALSO announces every 0.13 mile. It’s so annoying and I can’t figure out how to make it stop…since 0.13 isn’t even an interval option for voice reminders.

Deceitful app, Free trial scam. I wanted to try out Walkster and decided to sign up for the two week free trial and then pay the $59 if I liked the app. But when I selected signup the charge screen said the free trial was only 1 week. I took screen shots so I know I’m not misreading. Why is the app switching the free trial time period? I was going to try out the app but decided against it due to the developers deceitfulness.

Great App!. Walkster has helped me get out and walk more and be accountable for my steps!!! Highly recommend this app.

Needs Work. I like the layout of the app and the overall function. Great design! That’s why you get stars. I’m cancelling the free trial though, because the app doesn’t appear to actually work. It won’t update with data from my Apple Watch. It only tracks when I’m actually carrying my phone. Maybe that’s the sole purpose of the app? Would definitely be a stellar app if I could use it and track with my watch. Keeping working on it- you’re gonna have a good app someday! :)

Walking. I like the app, I wish it would tell you about every 5 or 10 where you are and how far you have walked at the point

Lost Weight. My husband and I use this app to walk together a few times per week. I've lost 8 lbs and he has lost 9 (grrr)! It's been fantastic for our mental health too. I have always been a walker, my husband less so, but this app makes it so much easier to walk consistently with a plan to follow. It also builds you up as you go. We are walking further and faster than a month ago. It has been helpful to see how far you've walked, how fast, etc. Looking back on how far you've walked in the last month has been very rewarding. It also counts your steps all day which I like to see. Some of my friends have a Fitbit, but why spend the money and worry about all thata when this app can do it from my phone? Overall your app gets two big thumbs up from down here in Georgia! PS Our dogs Winkie and Floyd are also big fans of the longer walks we've been doing 🙂

No projections. Unfortunately, the TikTok promoter says you can enter a goal weight and the app will tell you how far and how long it will take to get to said goal weight. Pretty misleading. Canceling after launching app and realize it doesn’t do any sort of thing like that. Thanks but no thanks. In response to your response… well of course, it’s common sense. Yes. I understand the concept of walking may help with weight loss. Smh. I have other walking apps to track. Free apps. Thanks again.

Walking is the best. Was looking for a walking app that would help me start walking more again and help me stick with it. Need to lose some weight, but don’t want to run. Found this walking app. The walking plans are easy to follow and do everyday. I like that it keeps track of how far I walked and how many times a week I’ve walked. Makes me want to keep walking according to the plan and not miss a day. I’ll update my review as I start to walk more, but so far so good. UPDATE: I've done a lot of walking. Especially using the walking plans that Walkster includes. I think I've used a dozen of them. Huge variety of them. I've done Calorie Killer 2 or 3 times. These plan have help be lose the weight I want and keep it off! They recently updated the app and it looks better than it did before. Much easier to use than the previous version. The other great thing about this app is their support and instructions.

Frustrating. I just downloaded this app and want to try it out before committing to a membership plan. I don’t mind the ads, I understand people need to be paid, but it shows me an ad and then when I hit the X to close it nothing happens. This has happened three times now and I have to close out the app and go back in because I can’t get out of the ad. If you can’t get something so simple to function right then what else is wrong with this app? Also, you keep bombarding me with signing up for a plan every time I tap on anything and that’s where to unclosable ads are. Are you purposely making this unusable for people using the free version?

Broken. Let me down.. literally the entire reason I downloaded this app was to calculate my calories during fast walking. At one point during my workout I paused and at that point there was 60 cal accounted for in the app, then I continued and walked .4 miles looked down and the calorie counter said zero. Hit pause still zero. Hit finish to see if any number of calories would be accounted for in the summary, nope still zero. This was a good workout, but due to an upcoming fitness test I really needed to know how many calories I burned and this app sadly has let me down.

The app won’t work anymore. For some reason the app won’t work anymore when I click on it. It just shows a picture of a lady running and crashes. Please help I don’t want all of my progress lost. I will change my rating when it is fixed.

Step counts off, buys apps w/o permission, drains battery. Walk same 1 mile routes weekly. Large inconsistency in step count reported , varying from 2500 to 3500 steps/mile. Purchased apps without my permission, and had to call carrier to have charges reversed. Can’t turn off the ap after use, and it rapidly drains the battery. You need to shut the phone off to turn off the ap. Needs a lot of fixing.

Annoying. If you don’t want to pay the plan it’s worthless. I didn’t even entertain spending the money because just trying to use it for one day you are forced to watch pop up ads for 3 seconds at a time before you can even close it followed by the constant pop up to select a paid plan.

Great App But. This app is great but I purchased the yearly plan and was asked to purchase it again, so I would really like to get my money back and make sure that the plan is working continually without asking me to pay for it again.

Nice app. This is a really nice little app. Will keep you motivated to achieve modest goals. I wish it had a way to exceed goals and customize the plan a bit better. I’m just starting back out but my goal is 5-6 days a week of some amount of walking to really establish the habit firmly. I also prefer longer walks on occasion than this offers. It does allow you to continue tracking steps, calories burned and mileage after the allotted time. It’s not perfect. It’s just a little motivation and awesome at accurately tracking time and distance and keeping that stored as a motivating review.

Not what I need. This app has lots of things I don’t need, and isn’t great at tracking what I do need. I was basically looking for an app to track my walks/runs, not to lead me through a fitness routine. Foolishly I didn’t cancel before the trial period so I ended up paying for it so I’m trying to make the most of it. I just went to check my progress since I started recording runs in June. I am extremely disappointed that it only stored my runs for the last 4 weeks! I cannot find the missing runs. I’ve also been frustrated with the app stopping the tracking while I’m in the middle of my run. I’m sure the motion of my phone in my pocket is causing this but it shouldn’t be this easy for the tracking to stop. It’s probably a great app for somebody but definitely not for me. I wish I’d never spent money on it.

It worked!!!. This app is GREAT for beginners. I was able to dip my toe into fitness. I can feel the results immediately. WOW it’s amazing and so easy to navigate through.

Not free. Very annoying!

Cannot unsubscribe. Crooked and misleading

Not free- con. Not free

Useless. Don’t bother a complete waste of time doesn’t tell you how far you walked or where. Just a glorified pedometer

Free?. Not free at all

Profile changes daily. Coming to the end of the trial period and weight in Profile reduces 60kg each time I turn the app on. All other parameters are retained. Is this a common issue?

Stevie. No free, it’s a con

It’s not a 3 day free trial - Beware. The information is misleading, you don’t get 3 days to trial it to see if it adds value before you are charged for it. You are charged straight away!!!!!! And the info is not any different to what your Apple apps really give you. Not worth it.

Not free. It’s not a free app As it makes you pay straight away when you get on You have to pay for a small bit of information that’s dumb

Misleading!. After I added the app I discovered it was not free at all! This is very misleading and they should be fined for doing this.

Only imperial measurements. Everything is in pounds and miles. Useless to me (and probably the majority of the world population).

App Crashes. Whenever you try to change the source of your steps the application crashes. Pointless

False. This app is not free it is 2$+ a month

Not free. I was excited to download this app, until you fill out your info and the final page says start walking and iTunes will automatically be charged after your free trial is over. This is not a free app, it’s free for 2 maybe 3 weeks depending on the package you choose and then you get charged. Disappointed.

Useless free version. can't even see step count by day

How to switch to kilometers instead of miles?. I am in Canada, I would like kilometers.

Free App of $199.99. Fraud

Not great. Still sends ads with a Subscription.. Doesn’t really work indoors on a treadmill. Shortly after buying, it lost track of my days walked and I had to restart after 30 days. Just recently it starts feeding me ads every time I start. Thought the whole point of paying for an app was so you didn’t get ads. Don’t pay for a year subscription until you really understand how it works. I would love to apply the money spent on this to an app that does what I want.

Not free. Not a free app

Scam. Avoid

Scamm. I resent that an app appears to be free until you’ve filled out all the questions and what to use if only to find you have to pay.

Great. It really worked. All I did was hold iPhone in my hand as I walked. It gave me time, distance and mapped my walk!

Started out OK but ended poorly. Worked fine the first few times, but then began crashing every single work out. Enough. Deleting it and cannot recommend it.

Walkster. The app was updated and now I have list all of my walks. I see that I’m being forced to pay for programs I’m not interested in . I’m switching to another app that is free.

Sneaky. They charge you with you selecting to go premium. They make it seem like they are just showing you the options and when you try to get to the next page it charges $96!

Walk before you run. Doesn’t keep a history

lack of customer support. I downloaded the trial. I didn’t like the app since mid June I’ve been trying to find the account settings to cancel my subscription. Cannot find any indication anywhere within the app to reach my account settings.

This might be the worst. It didn’t count anything, but it sure would try and get money out of you. Keep looking if you are looking for walking/hiking app.

App isn’t working. I am paying a subscription and every time I try to use the app it tries to make me sign up again! If I can get it’s not bad but I’m cancel and will find an app that doesn’t charge me multiple subscriptions

Great Apo!. I’ve used this app for 2 years and it’s great! It gives me just want u was seeking in a walking app! Thank you to the developer!

Why does the app have a January start date when I just downloaded in April?. .

Strange App. As soon as I start the app the dot starts wandering around the house. I haven’t moved yet! Then after the walk I have 0 steps counted. This is what I wanted the app for. I still can’t get it to operate correctly after several attempts.

Walking and Exercise at Home. User friendly. Provides good information.

The worst!. This app is very difficult to navigate and not user friendly. I had walk dates in June of 2021 and it is January 2023. I deleted the app to try and fix the issue and when I redownloaded it, I had lost the membership I paid for.

Can’t sign up. I can not sign up. It’s just totally unresponsive. Is this how the app doesn’t work ? Now do you want to know how I feel about digit people ?

Not paying for this. Not paying for something that doesn’t even show what I’m paying for. And I’m pretty sure legally you are supposed disclose that you charge in the description before downloading! I’ll find a better app. No thanks!

Keeps getting worse. Today when I was out for a walk my phone made two pocket calls to the moving company ad that showed up while I was walking. You are really lame about the ads.

Fun. Easy to do and easy workouts to follow along on the app you can get things done so fast

This app has potential…. But it isn’t accurate. Everyday I walk the same route and the distance us mostly different every day.

App. I really like this app alot but they should really make it where we wont have to pay for it

Not for me. This app is not for me, I wanted an app to track my walk, not guide me through an actual routine. Ive been trying to cancel my plan before free trial runs out, but no success. Ive email the developer and still no response. Subscription cannot be cancel through my settings.

SAYS ITS FREE ... LIARS 😡😡😡. So, so angry! The advertisement says this is a free app .... it’s NOT!!!! It used to be, but not anymore!!!! Everybody says we need to get healthy .... but nobody wants to help us without making money hand over fist 😡 And with the economy in the condition that it is, everyone is raping people with their prices!

Walk before you run. I enjoy this app. I look forward each day to remind me to walk.

Not worth the money. This app is not connecting with my Apple Watch therefore the step count is always far off. It also does not recognize indoor walks.

Waste of money. Don’t waste your money. The ads you have to wade thru to get to the program are ridiculous. If it were free, I could overlook the ads. But I’m paying to sit thru ads so I can walk.

A lie that it’s free. Says I can use it free. It’s a lie. Can’t use the app unless you pay money. Developer says I’m wrong and it is free. I could not, and many other reviewers could not “figure” out how to use it for free. Could not get past the membership pay page. A total line of B.S. I opinion isn’t it’s a scam.

Not what I want. I want to track how many steps/ miles I walk each day. This used to do that. However, I am unable to get back to that.

Ease of app. I am having some issue of ease of app. I put phone in my pocket. Issues with going back. And estimated miles. I use trails. I don’t think mileage is correct.

Good app, but.... Calorie counter showed zero in the middle of walking, other numbers continued working. Why?

Not recommended. This app requires more helpful tracking tools to easily allow customers to keep daily, weekly, monthly and annual tracking reports. It needs to be updated to match competitors.

Enjoyable simple app. First day of use and I think it’s great!

Too many adds that disrupt app navigation!. Ads are harassing!

Review. This app asks for a review every time you use it. It's aggravating having to skip that screen every walk. I did one rating prior to this one. That should be enough.

Teri-68. Liked the app but was deceiving from the web it said free walking them when you get in there is a cost. I am in the 31st trial period so charging when you say free May be a bummer for the app.

Nice!. This app is really great, it keeps me on my toes and is helping me keep fit! I feel great and this app totally helps 👍👍

Need Help. It is very frustrating that if you miss a week, there isn’t an option to repeat a week. It is also very frustrating that almost the entire FAQ page is about syncing a Fitbit to the app. Please advise how to repeat a missed week.

Fun. I enjoyed using the app today for my first walk work out. I wish there was music to listen to while I walked.

Useless Program. This program is worthless. I can look at my watch and see how many minutes I have walked. It is not at all motivating. I would rather listen to my music or a book. Don't waste your money!

In accurate miles. Same route 2 days: 2.02 miles and 2.56 miles. It should not be that inaccurate

It’s not free. There’s some free stuff, but I don’t need an app to do what the free portion of it does. You have to pay for the premium version. Not for me.

Waste of money. This is the biggest waste of money. They advertise giving you a walking goal to meet your goals on a timeline. They give you a walking goal but doesn’t project weight loss as they advertised. An overpriced pedometer.

First Day. Great app so far, we will see how I feel in a week or so😊

Super easy to use. Everything I wanted in a walking app.

Hard to use. Not happy and I can’t go back and check my progress I make she start a whole new workout I don’t know if I’m gonna keep this app

1st time. Very pleased with this app and the way it works

Please pair..... It would be that much better if it paired with the Apple Watch. That way you wouldn’t have to carry your big phone.

In app purchases. Several things are listed here but impossible to find on your app. Can I select legs and arms with walks if I subscribe? Where are the subscription options (like annual)? Why did you make it so user unfriendly? I sent an email. Would love a reply. Somewhere. Won’t recommend this until the support improves before buying.

Ok. It's ok. Just like everything else you need to purchase a monthly payment in order to get what you would like.

Just joined. I feel the guidance is really beneficial since I am new to a regimented workout program

You don’t find out how much to walk to lose weight.. Literally why I got the app and paid and that third screen that says “see your plan “ and tells you how long/see your plan doesn’t exist. Boo.

App crashes.. When this works it’s great. But half the time it shuts down halfway through my walk and I lose that progress.
