Meh, nothing special.. Honestly not that riveting of an app. I don’t like how when you go back into it after closing out that the template/background doesn’t default to whatever was there before. I was drawing stick men and when I went back to work on it more, the background didn’t have the circles…lame. Not worth it.

I’ve tried many. I’ve tried many drawing apps but I always pick this one because of its simplicity. I’m buying it today. It’s a whopping $1.99. Can’t buy a candy bar for that. Great value. Cheers.

Useless 😡. This app is completely USELESS. Gives you a pencil and an eraser and 1 sheet/template and then you have to pay for everything else. I have tried this company’s other apps and they do the same thing. Very disappointed in not only this app but in the whole company.

Good. It is really good and you can try coloring for an hour. I honestly have improved my little doodles with this app since it’s so simple.

bad app. i ignored all the people at first then i realized you have an eraser and a pen an paper with lines and dots on the end and if your pro all you get is a paint brush im deleting this app

Love this app. I honestly love this app and I think it’s little templates give a lot of dimension. The paintbrush is worth it in my eyes cause it really adds to the art and I thinks it’s a fun and easy way to relieve stress.

Horrible. Horrible app, just do not download. After the first few sketches, you have to buy the rest. Only 3 tools, pen, pencil and a watercolor that doesn’t even seem like a watercolor. You can’t even edit the size, and it is super hard to work with. I’d give it a 0 star if I could, and the pictures are all FAKE. Don’t waste your time trying to deal with this app folks. Doesn’t even deserve a 0 star, but a NEGATIVE 0 star.

Bad very badly. When I first open it ，it really sucked there was only 2 tools! Same for other people they have the same problem as me plz fix this doodle book/game thingy fix this game now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!☹️😡😿👎🏻

Terrible. You get two tools and a sheet of paper.. and nothing else... to get anything else you have to pay which STINKS so don’t get this it’s bad...!

I cant even change the pattern. Very limited!. it could have been 5 stars if it had more tools and features. Alas, its not very intuitive and not very useful. Will re-do rating if it improves.

Almost there. I really like this app, but there needs to be a better way of navigating to other pages. Swiping to change the page is very intuitive, but this also needs a thumbnail view so you can choose a page without having to swipe twenty times!

Needs a lot of improvement. I got this app and was really excited to doodle. Until I found it out it comes with only two things. People who don’t want to buy pro should be supplied with more supplies. I really wanted to doodle and use the watercolor supplies that I saw someone using. So I downloaded the app and again I will say I only got two things to use. I think your going to need to step your game if you think people are going to want a doodling app and don’t want to spend money on it. And that’s just the supplies. Now, the backgrounds are great but add some blank ones please. And I saw in the pictures when you look in the App Store. There was designs you had to finish and many other cool things. I was really looking forward to those until I looked at all the backgrounds for one it drew a boat and excepted me to do something with that and I could do absolutely nothing because I like to look at thinks and then doodle them. Now, don’t come at me because when I draw in real life I visualize it in my head. Fix this game!!

...perfect substitute for a doodling paper pad.... 1) I personally don't understand why people are unhappy with this app. It's deliberately minimalist. Doodling, by definition is occasionally mindless and repetitive, which this app glorifies. 2) A kind suggestion: see if you can make a Dark mode style upgrade. Maybe you can call it the creepy mode, or Halloween pad.

Great app. For writing down a quick thought or image, this is a great app. It is not an app for serious drawing. I do wish there was a way to save a drawing or lock a drawing inside the app.

Why didn’t it save???. Ok so I am spending so much time on this Youtube intro and I’m like trying to save them as I go then I go to my photos after I did 15 coloring sheets and this thing didn’t even save

Nice idea but not the best.😿. I think you should have more stuff for people who don’t have pro. It is pretty much 2 tools and a template. You could have added a few more templates or at least a blank page. I love doodling, especially animals 🦊🐶🐹🐯🐷🐴🐺I was so excited to doodle when I downloaded this app but I was pretty disappointed.😿 A lot of other people are too. I think your app could be way more successful if you listen to our recommendations. Pretty much the whole app is pro. I like the idea a lot and I hope you will make your app a place where people can doodle and have fun without paying for it. I would definitely rate this app 5 stars if you change the app. hope you take these recommendations into consideration.

Maybe a bug?. This app is really fun, some friends recommended it to me. For some reason, there seems to be something wrong with the app, because my friends who had downloaded it were able to get different pages, but I was not. I hope that this can be fixed, because I would definitely rate it 5 stars if it is.

Don’t get. Unless you want to pay for literally everything. You only get an eraser and two other tools and only one sheet/Template. Which was not what I wanted when I go this. It gets so boring so fast also.

Strangely stingy trial mode.. I wouldn’t normally even comment on an app when I haven't purchased the full version, and I'm sure the pro membership delivers a good product. But first, in a category that has such tough competition, it doesn't seem very friendly for the company to allow for a sample version that isn't essentially "complete" as a reduced-feature but satisfying app. This is fairly common. I can even respect the minimalist vibe: you're given a #2 pencil, a blue, ballpoint pen, an eraser and a doodle book to doodle in. It's straightforward and honest. But no color changes? Are we monks? The pencil is quite satisfying for what it is. It looks like graphite scribbling on rough paper. The ball point is not evocative of actual ball point, which can actually achieve quite a variety of line qualities. And if you're going to have the principled stance of such admirably few choices, you really ought to work out the glitches. At fist I could flip through the pages, but eventually couldn't go backwards. So drawings were lost, never to be seen again. Big no-no. The decision of whether to go pro was at that point, easily made. Sorry guys.

This app is 😠😡🤬. This app is not worth it! do not get it! if you don’t get doodle book pro , then ... well you can only do like 4 pages of doodling! And it only has 3 things to draw with! DO NOT GET THIS APP!!!!

It’s really good actually. Hi, I tried it out despite all of the bad reviews. I paid $1.99 for it - its a lot cheaper than most coloring books you’d find in bookstores. I think it’s really cute and that it does a good job of being what it is - a coloring book / doodling app. So far I’ve made snails, and talking eggshells. It’s just there as stress relief and helps me to zone in and tune out all of the idiots in my life.

Eh.. Sure, it has a few templates. But it’s SO hard not draw on the template you are on while trying to get to the next page! I would like it if it didn’t. I also have another complaint. The eraser essential has only 1 size to erase with. I usually don’t, but what if I actually make a very detailed sketch.. and then the size of the erase accidentally ruins it? Please fix all of this if you can. 👎

Original Review: I'm enjoying Tayasui's, Doodle Book, application so very much. This program is incredibly fun in my opinion. I've already doodled tons of the endless pages available and I cannot wait to tackle more of them. I had previously purchased all of Tayasui's other applications forever ago and have always enjoyed them as well. But, I had never actually seen Doodle Book in the App Store until yesterday. I'm not sure if it's a newer, just released application or if I just missed it all this time somehow. I'm so glad I found it though, because it is so much fun to doodle away in this fun program I think. The app gives you all these prompts and templates for doodling, like cute little bear head templates, all sorts of different shapes to fill in or also just nice looking blank canvases as well. I own lots of painting applications on my iPhone and iPad and love to use them all. But, sometimes it's nice to take a break from coming up with something new to draw and that's where Doodle Book comes in I think. If you can't think of anything to draw just scroll through the seemingly endless templates in this app that will help get you started. It couldn't be more cute, simple and enjoyable in my book. I also really appreciate how helpful and friendly the Tayasui developers are. I had an issue with the application and emailed Tayasui. They got back to me the very next day, very early actually, and were so very helpful and friendly in answering my questions. So, many thanks to the dev team for this app, all of your apps and for your kind help. The only small issue I have with Doodle Book, and this doesn't really detract from how great I think that this program is in my opinion. Is that I figured out how to share my doodles with the community, after emailing the developer, by clicking the export/share button and then scrolling to the right of the top level of apps until I got to Doodle Book. But, the problem is, once I've shared a doodle with the community, well, they never seem to show up in the lists available. I figured right off the bat they wouldn't show up in the Popular or Featured categories. But, I never see the doodles I've shared listed in the Recent category, or whatever it's called. I don't know what is going on but it's annoying that I never have any proof that my doodle I shared with the Doodle Book community, actually made it into the list. So, if Tayasui, would please work on refining the Community aspect of the this app, so that I could always see proof of my doodles being shared and uploaded to the community section of the application, well, I'd be very grateful for that, thank you. Like I mentioned, though, this issue doesn't detract from my love of this app and my rating at all. I still wholeheartedly would recommend Doodle Book and in my opinion the app is easily worth the two bucks I spent on it. Especially with it having no stupid subscription garbage included. Which, many thanks to Tayasui for being such a cool 😎 and ethical developer and only selling your great applications for one fair price. Please put more tools or options :(. This game is good, but they are to many flaws to this drawing app it’s to simple yet unfair in a way if only they would put colors? Or something good to make the app better it’s also really pointless if you you can’t really doodle like you mean it..😞

It Was Fun for a Minute. iPhone 11 iOS 13.3 I bought the app for $1.99. I watched the tutorial all the way through. After that, I looked through the pages it had and then chose the Pencil and was able to doodle. Next I erased the doodle and choose another page. There’s I choose the pen and doodle a bit. I choose the Pencil again I was able to choose the Pencil and heard all the sounds the app makes but no lines in the page. I choose the felt to next. It worked fine. Back to the Pencil. No go. Won’t write. Back to the pen. Now it won’t write. Felt tip still works. Erase still works. I closed out the app and restarted it. No go. Pencil and pen still don’t write. All I want is for the app to work.

Awesome!. Hi I'm almost 11 and I love doodling. This app is good to use, when you just want to draw. I'm the biggest doodler you'll ever meet, so this app can get me doodling! Also, I thought there was no free version. 🤦‍♀️ That's why I had to pay 2 bucks. (With my Apple gift card I got from Santa.) Thanks for the great app!

Great but could use a few more tools and a better U.I. I really like this app it’s very nice and simplistic I think it’s worth buying the pro version I think it would be a great improvement if they made the U.I better so hopeful the community could be bigger oh and add a a easier way to look at your drawing by not having to flip pages and make a blank white page

Great app. It’s a great app I just got a brand new iPad Pro 11 2018 and my only concern is it does not fully fit the screen of my iPad 11 it looks like it’s made for a iPad with a 9.9inch screen or so? But I still paid for the app anyway because I like how it works with the new Apple Pencil 2nd gen. Hopefully they will fix it to where it is formatted for the 11 inch screen and to where when you double tap on the pencil to switch between eraser and current tool then it would be a 5 star for me!!

Add for more tools. Are you serious? You charge 1.99 for just one paintbrush addition to this?

Like it, but needs some more tools. If you are a person who just likes to draw with what ever they find, it is a nice app. But it needs a lot of improvement

There’s nothing there. So I got the app despite the review thinking that people were over exaggerating but there is literally nothing there you get 3 drawing utensils (1 is an eraser) and 1 coloring page. If you want more you have which is absolutely ridiculous I must say I’m disappointed.

Super disappointed in free version. I didn't expect much coming from a few app, but I had hoped for more than 3 told with no way to change the size of the pen stroke. At least would like to change the color/opacity of the pen since the free pen is made to look more like a pencile texture. Going back to previous doodle app..

Blank page and page search. I really like this app but the patterns can be annoying, would be great if you could add just a normal blank page option, also an easier way to look back on your doodles?

White sheet please!!. Loving the paid version however really need just a plain white sheet without lines, would be ahmazzzinnnggggg if you could update it to include a blank page in the notebook that hasn’t got any patterns on it

Can’t get out of Tutorial. I can’t get past the “Go to next page” part of the tutorial: the swipe left function doesn’t work. When I press “Skip” it just moves the page halfway across and the rest of the screen is black. I don’t think doodling on my phone is for me anyway; I’ll just go back to pen and paper. The app has a nice look to it though. Thanks anyway.

Really good. Really good app but you need or should use a stylus

Doodle book. I hate it and am deleting the app. It is not easy to use and should be because doodling should not be complicated

Looks nice, but.... Honestly, I'm sure it's a great app. I've already got the Tayasui Sketches and it was great and easy to draw on. But, whenever I go on this app, it crashes. I've tried clearing apps (the things you swipe...don't know what its called) and deleting and redownloading the app. Can someone tell me what's going on, or is this just how it's gonna be?

Fun idea but lack of features makes it dull. I liked this app, the ability to just doodle, and the different backgrounds to spark your imagination is really a great design, but I found that there weren’t enough features to make using the app enjoyable. I especially found the small variety of brushes disappointing.

Well described app. This app is perfect for mindless doodling or just experimenting with your creativity. It’s a very simple and easy to use app. I was slightly disappointed to find that the ability to change the color you draw in is only unlocked if you pay for “Doodle book pro” (an in app purchase that allows you to edit colors, unlimited pages, more patterns and a watercolour tool). While I prefer when apps provide full services for free, the one time cost of $2.79 seems relatively reasonable to me and depending on how much I use this app I may consider purchasing the pro version.

Eh. Sort of ok but, I find it dumb that you can’t change the ink size and that you have to buy the ability to colour.

Please Fix. Every time I try to go in the app it just goes back to the home screen

Lovely. This game is pretty good but sometimes it doesn't seem to work. It takes a while to get into it too. I can't say that this game is the best of all and really I think that it's just the internet connection that sometimes doesn't make me play the game.

Disapointed.... Im very disappointed in this app. Even with a stylus pen, drawing is very complicated because nothing is precise. I also don’t like the fact that there is no blank pages. This app definitely needs improvement. I recommend using Memopad instead.

Love it!. It's an awesome app but in the community section, I'm not able to click out of an art that I click. I'd have to restart the whole app if I wanna exit out. Also, I think it would be better if each individual had their own account so they can be acknowledge for the work they've made.

Redo?. Redo prompt where??? As much as i like this app’s minimalism, a redo prompt/button would be nice. Also yeah backgrounds are kinda distracting. Would be nice to have a page index instead of flipping through to find stuff.

Intros Pen. Pen performs very poorly, Lots of apps have what this has, and more, and dont charge for it.

Garbage. Really garbage. The idea seems to be to have a notebook with random patterns on each page. No indexing that I could find, just the possibility of leafing through, I suppose, until you find your doodle. Works for a physical notebook, but for ipad medium it is just silly. What does the app do? What is on the tutorial. Any questions? If the developer wants to improve the app they need only to read the comments people have posted. Until then, useless silly app.
