Read Reviews. So I’m a contractor and am always looking for apps that might make my job a little easier. So I saw this and was like awesome! A faster way to measure and get floor plans at the same time! Well that’s ALL you get. You can’t a doors, windows, text, nothing. It’s just a simple floor plan of a box really. I shouldn’t have wasted my money on this app. Very disappointed. It could be great but they need to upgrade it a lot! Thumbs down.

Good app but export not AI compatible. I find the app itself to function well in terms of collecting floor plan data quickly, but need to move the data into a more sophisticated desktop drawing tool such as Adobe Illustrator. I thought the DXF export format would be the key but it is not. I found documentation online that Adobe Illustrator will not import DXF produced by AutoCad released after Feb 15, 2007. If your app is using DXF format based on later releases it will not work. Tried a DXF to AI converter plugin but did not work. Still seeking a solution but wanted to let you know this apparent limitation. Please advise if you know of another solution. Perhaps you can create another DXF export option specifically for Adobe Illustrator compatibility.

Versatility. Overall, this app will get the job done. I recommend if you are considering to buy this app for professional use that you do not rely on the exact dimensions given. The dimensions you create with the app are not 100% true to whatever you are measuring. The app, however, is amazing for reference floor plans as well as prototype usage. All in all, you’ll get you money’s worth.

I would like to see a way to possibly calibrate to sharpen accuracy.. It’s great for quick, rough estimates for square footage. This is a very useful app for my use. However... Just to test the accuracy, I aimed it at 1sq ft tiles and it consistently read 11.5” per side. It would be nice to have an option where users can enter the corrected measurement for one (or more) sides so the app gains a more accurate overall perspective. Or aim at a part of a tape measure so the app can calibrate. I’m still very impressed and commend the developers!

Contractor. Does as advertised.. perfect for my needs able to put together a bid... it’s prolly about 5% off in either direction but that Is because it’s all about the user placing the flags properly.. but if you can’t do a material order or proposal with those margins then your clearly not a professional!!!

Not 100% accurate but a time saver. I have measured two rooms multiple times and I’m getting a different reading from that each time. The difference has been within 3% which works for my line of work. If you have to be exact then this will only get you in trouble. Updated I just used this app to measure 15 restrooms at a hospital and let me tell you how much easier it is. To not have to mess with a Measuring wheel and the. Right down the info on paper/iPhone notes app makes all the difference. Also it calculates the perimeter and totals for the entire folder for each project. I just wish you could add a photo you could see on the same sheet.

Absolutely love this app saves time in my business. Absolutely love this app it’s very accurate and it saves a ton of time in my business not having to deal with tape measures on the job and is great if Google Earth does not work for whatever reason and where you’re trying to measure for any type of quotes.

Solid app. Aside from the camera unable to recognize the floor every once in a while it works swimmingly

Great App for the Cost. I have enjoyed using the app & it allows me to take the outline and adjust the shape. The corrected shape can easily be imported to other drawing apps to create models of the space.

Very helpful. Used it on a quick estimating job. It was quick fast and accurate enough for a reasonable quote.

Wow best app for take offs. This is the most incredible app yet designed for estimating and doing as built drawings. I use to app to a measure a extremely odd shape room that would have taken a hour to measure and draw it took less than three minutes what a tremendous time saver. This app should be own everybody iPhone who does estimates from millwork flooring real estate etc. Architects are going to love this app.

Almost there. It’s a great and very simple process but... it’s not quite there. Unfortunately since it’s done on a hand held divide the flag points still move off of their markers so, it’s not totally accurate.

Easy to use. If you need something to measure your space and not for any crazy complicated reasons this is it! I just use it for figuring out my home office size for tax deductions and it works great!

Nice tool. So I get it it’s not crazy precise. However if your using this app for your job your an idiot break out a tape measure and get it right. That being said it’s a great tool to always have on you for estimating square footage or just getting an idea of how long a wall is for furniture placement or rugs.

Waste of time AND money. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP. You’re better off with graph paper, an actual tape measure and a pencil The initial point disappeared. This caused me to try to match the points which were now 6” away from the wall of origin. It gives a general layout of the area but I wouldn’t buy building materials using this app unless you wanted to add 25% which can result in a lot of money. Tried a second time. Used additional lighting (because the developing team will remind you that you need the power of the sun for the app to work properly). Difference was 12 sq ft (396 to 408). Tried a 3rd & final time and ended up with 357 sq ft. Same room, with doorways & some angles. Wasted money. Some technologies always let you down

Hardly had to read instructions ; ). Still learning since I purchased a few minutes ago. Which means that with practice I’ll be an expert soon. Have mapped my kitchen floor fairly well. I’ll be back.

Nice tool for floor mapping.. It’s interesting how this little tool can do amazing measurements. It takes some operator skill and some learning to make the floor plan more accurate. I’ve only used it twice but I think it has good potential.

Rough sketch, far from accurate. Lines are far from straight, and plots “float” from their original spots, causing crooked rooms and being several feet off from your start point when you “circle back around” to finish the plan. Very displeased with purchase price.

mathematical wonder. More than worth the money to pay for it... it is very very useful... for a TAPE measure to compete with this one 💥Ha💥 It would have to be pretty large in size and/or bulky ... this one is pretty much invisible and always available in low light in the rain in the snow in the snowmobile in the airplanes in the boat in the car anywhere you could pretty much music as long as you have a little creativity and imagination

This app. This app does not work. I have tried this small room three times. It forgets points and when you come back around to its original point it’s has been way off. Great concept and I wished it worked would be very useful. Personally I want a refund. I have wasted enough time

Think outside the box.... I’ve read a few complaints about the difficulty in measuring and catching all four corners when there are too many items in the room. A simple solution that will reduce your time even that much quicker.... Measure the ceiling area just above the floor area. It the SAME measurements/square footage. This should solve that issue until the next version comes out. Great piece of software!

Doses what it claims. I like it.. It works. That’s all I expected. You pay $17once which is fair. Better than a subscription.

Awesome. This is the app I have always wanted. It’s pure magic to tap on a few reference points while you’re slowly moving around a room, or walking around the yard, and get accurate plan view drawings, complete with area and perimeter measurements. I tried it on some smaller items, and it’s quite accurate.

Not for a pro. As experienced structural engineer, this app is just far from being a tool for a pro. For instance, you snap the corner of a room for just a simple plan, check the dimensions of the room as plotted by the app vs the actual dimensions. If they don’t match, and definitely they will never match, now you need to correct the app dimensions. The only method to do so is to slide one of the end points of the line in question. The default setting fir dimension units is one decimal of an inch. I would challenge any one to be able to get it right even with ten trials. Not worth the “pro” title or price. By the way, there is another app that a corrected dimension just can be edited via text. Just click on the dimension, and you will be given a window to enter in text the desired dimension.

My experience with cam to pro. I’ve been a builder for 30 years not a big fan of all software a lot of developers make stuff it’s missing some important features. I found this online a few years ago it makes my job so much easier to estimate square footage property size paint amounts flooring cabinetry if you have to estimate anything on or in a construction site this is the app for you.

Inaccurate. The app is not operating properly. The initial post changes after the second or third point click, sometimes, on certain floors, even with very good day light and bright room lights. The lines don’t go in parallel and leaves so much flaws due to human handling error. The designs of the areas are never close to the actual setup. There should be some intelligence embedded in the app to suggest a parallel line to the opposite side, and some rounding up of the distance as human hand and sight cannot get a post exact to the millimetre. I’m not happy with paying $8+Tax for this app that doesn’t help me at all. I still did all my measuring work with a manual metre measurement tool. I do not suggest buying it. Get a demo if possible and try it for yourself first. I did contact the support team and asked for a refund, twice, but still no reply at all. This app doesn’t do what it says and is a waste of money. I got ripped off and now I’m being ignored coz I’m not giving a good review!

Fantastic App. Love this app for getting wall dimensions. Can bring it into my design programs and make very accurate drawings in less time.

So easy. Plans for the amateur have never been so simple. We are just starting a renovation on a large Queen Anne Victorian. Will this come in handy, I can’t wait to use it.

Just odd. I’ve been playing with this app now for several days, and just cannot get it to work. After it detects the floor it starts to give the craziest measurements. Things are measuring and feet instead of in inches. I feel like I’m not getting something, and I have the app on both my iPad and my iPhone, and it isn’t working well – OK at all – on either device. I’m still hopeful that I’m doing something wrong but I’m starting to think it is crap. Sorry

Fun and practical use of AR. Without having thoroughly tested its accuracy, I have done several rough tests (after many turns and twists, are the angles true and does the end point match up with the starting point). The results seem promisin. When I am being careful about positioning the corners, this app seems accurate to within a percent or less. Your mileage may vary, of course!

As promised. CamToPlan is fun and easy to use. Show to your friends because they’ll want it too! I’m using it now for an architecture course I’m following.

Works well, regret buying though. I didn’t pay attention to the preview before I bought this app, I thought I would be able to add openings like doors and windows but there is no additional editing once outline of room is done. Would be extremely helpful if minimal architecture symbols could be added during measurement or post measurement in viewing window. I run a small electrical business and having easy rough prints would be so nice.

Good.. It’s a great app, works amazing, there’s a few errors that could be fixed such as the accuracy. I’m excited for the future of this app. Hopefully it becomes even better! Awesome tool for surveying. Rated 3 stars due to the fact that 3 mins of having this app running drained 15% battery and made my phone super hot!

Great for estimating space!. Good estimates I would say....keep in mind this is a close estimate, not an exact measurement. If you want to have a good idea, this would be the app. It comes in handy if you’re doing interior design work or need measurements to see if an object would fit on a specific space. Likes the app so far.

Must have. I’ve been thinking why they don’t provide something like that for years!

Professional carpentry contractor. This app is ideal for multiple uses. Fast easy way to estimate the area of a floor, layout dimensions and shape of overall room and makes a quick job of rough sizes needed for crown, chair rail and base moldings.

Great for looking at new home ideas.. When I am traveling sometimes I see a feature that I really like. This makes not having a tape measure irrelevant.

Misleading Advertising. I purchased this app based on the apps video which shows it measuring curved rope laying on a floor along with other items nearby. Based on this, I thought it would be handy for getting rough measurements for random objects anywhere. This is what the app description leads you to believe you can do. What they don’t tell you is that the app requires you to locate all four corners of a room with the camera to establish boundaries before it will measure anything! If you have to many items in the room it can’t detect all the corners and won’t go past that. No room means no measuring anything inside or out. I contacted the developer and asked for a refund but was told the next update would solve the problem but it was no better. Still no refund! This app should have a free Trial option before wasting your money but it does not! I deleted the app as it proved useless for me.

Pretty darn good. Other apps I tried wouldn’t let me get a basic blueprint before they were adding furniture and stuff whil was unable to get the basic floor plan. I had one chance to map the house we’re buying before we move next month. I walked around and mapped it out quickly then was able to adjust it later. It does the basic job which is what I wanted first. That’s all this program does and does it easily and well. Just what I wanted.

A perfect app for measurements. Perfectly measures areas and gives an instant drawings. Produced drawings can be later on edit d as well with auto adjustment feature.

4 stars.... I would’ve given it 5 stars but when measuring and area, the app would not let me stop when an obstacle is in the way and continue on the other side of that obstacle. Otherwise, this is an awesome app!!!

Tech not quite ready for practical application. Reviewed this app as a possible business solution for a large furniture retailer. I tested this app in empty rooms with bright light and furnished rooms with bright light. I found it to work reasonably (though still inaccurate) in small square spaces, it stopped working when trying to render larger spaces (400 ft sq). As previous reviewers noted, it does not accurately measure. (I laid down a measuring tape and compared the rendering and actual). It also offers no ability to edit the rendering (other than squaring off) after measuring. I also found that initial points of the rendering would skip or jump throughout causing me to go back and re-do the entire room. Inaccuracy of measurements, inability to edit, and cost of app all combine to receive a solid 1 star rating.

Disappointed. Sketches do not come out correctly; walls not square and points not accurate. Look at the pictures of sketches that the app developer posted for examples, none of the walls are square either. Looks un-professional by all means. Also, app doesn’t work properly when furniture and contents are around walls and floors. I want my money back!

Fair. Honestly for the price and what you get it’s worth the cost. I’m not sold and can’t use it because my work requires 100 percent correct numbers. This thing is a little off with measurements. It’s there but not 100 percent. I wish there was a refund button.

Works great!. Gives you a rough idea of square footage! I use this to outline yards as I’m a contractor, and I’ve been very happy with it! It’s not exact! Especially with larger yards, but it gives you an idea.

Really cool app!. Love it! Gives me square foot and lineal foot and is spot on accurate if you use it right! Just wish it allowed me to do more than one room on a plan. I would like to be able to recreate a floor plan with multiple rooms. Right now I can do the entire space as one big room or each room as separate plans. Problem with the latter is that I can’t see where each room is on the full plan. Great app otherwise! Great job!

Great measurement tool!. This thing is fantastic and makes measuring spaces very easy. I only wish that once you created a plan that it let you draw shapes of a given dimension inside the plan. That or let me pick the pins up as I make the plan so that I can simulate furniture in the space.

Does the job better than I thought!. I didn’t have high expectations for it being as it’s on my phone, but as a salesman for flooring and quick measurements for blueprints it does a quick job. Just don’t be ordering cabinets or trusses off the measurements.

Nice idea but, Takes awhile to detect floor.. I saw this advertised and it looked great. Purchased the APP but then had a few issues with the APP detecting the floor. Spent a few minutes trying to sort it out. The other thing is why can’t we use it to plan a design on the wall for images etc. A suggestion.

Good. Not super accurate, but great to get a rough idea.

First test ok. Just used it after downloading. Traced the floor of our kitchen going around an island bench etc. Fantastic to be able to measure this way, but once I made it back to the starting point the first marker was about 150mm away from the corner of the room.

Great measuring app. I’m a landscaper, and this app has made measuring areas extremely quick and easy. 😉

App can’t detect some surfaces. I have off-white wooden floors and even with good lighting, the app can’t detect them. Dark surfaces or surfaces with rough textures can detected fine.

First time user. Used it only once very helpful tool, at this point I’m not sure if the information collected can be incorporated into a regular drawing for floor plans if so then this tool Would be magical.....

Sent me to rate the app on my first try using it. Quit worrying about your ratings and stop asking new users to rate the app during the first 5 minutes of using it. This may be a great app but so far it has just had me rate it and now I’m angry.

Excellent for all my measuring needs. I’ve use this app several times now and have given it to all my guys. We now rely on the accuracy for all our estimates. Our clients are impressed with the level of technology we use. Sure beats a tape measure.

Helpful tool for contractors. This app makes measuring a job quick and easy. Impresses the customer and you don’t have to go around with your measuring tape.

Didn’t work. Tried the app. Tried to measure one room to test it and it couldn’t find my starting point by the time I got back to it and the room had weird angles and shapes even though it should have been an easy rectangle. I would say way more than a one percent accuracy window. Definitely not worth $7

Really user-friendly. This worked really well for a rough floor plan of an office space. I couldn’t figure out how to just make a wall one line so I have some over-lapping values but it works really well!

Not Accurate. I’ve tried a few different rooms and types of furniture and all of them have been off by several inches.

Works. For for a specific task and that’s about it. I will be using on all my jobs though. Takes the place of a laser tape in some cases but will still need my tape to refine some things.

Not as user friendly. 8/10 times it does not detect anything, even in a well lighted area

Doesnt work for Interior Designers / Architects. It doesnt work to an extent. If there is any furniture or anything in the way really on the floor, like say, couches or dressers. etc. It wont measure it straight at all. So its not acurate. If the room is empty then yes, it is accurate to an extent. I personally want my money back because now I know i cant use it.

Very handy/Very happy. I think I have it almost a year. It works fantastically. Sometimes it takes a bit long to detect the surface. I use it mainly to measure the length of UTP and camera wires. This App is worth the money for sure.

Measurements. It’s great but I would like to be able to edit after taking measurements and also what do you do when you can’t move furniture.

Good for general square footage. Nice and easy to use, if your looking for accuracy, use a tape measure. Great for a quick floor plan and general square footage take off. Uses imperial or metric measurements.

Good for quick and dirty.... This app is just OK. It’s not accurate enough for a final floor plan. If it had a grid option that kept things square, it would be much better. I’ll probably stick to my laser measure tool and pen and paper.

Works pretty good. Measurements are pretty accurate. I always double checked them at first. Now I usually don’t anymore. Feel a little silly waving my phone at the ground but I get it.

Can’t add openings!!. I know it’s my fault for assuming that a floor plan app would allow you to add windows and doors. If you are gonna limit the app this much by NOT having a way to add openings. Basically an app that uses your camera to draw a box!! Be kind enough to put that in the description!! How can I get a refund??

Concept is awesome but ..... It stopped measuring half way through floor plan. .... and now I’m frustrated .... I wanted to not write review until I trouble shooter but the pop up to leave review wouldn’t stop so rather than a trouble shot 5 star it’s a 3 star frustrated review.

I just measured my room in almost 60 seconds. After I measured my room- it drew up an entire schematic. Talk about instant results.

Precision. It is not that easy to accurately se a point. By the time your finger get to the screen to set the point, the phone has move...

Not perfect but fantastic. Although this isn’t perfect, it is well worth the purchase price. Cheaper than a good tape measure and easier to use. Great for estimating floor space.

So far not as expected.. The flags move on their own after setting them as I rotate within the green circle. Not worth the $9.00 definitely would consider not even downloading if free. Just measured something that should be about 30” and it told me 6’ 7.1”.

Still evaluating. Works good so far. Would have likely given a higher review if it had allowed me to properly test it. 4 requests to rate the app in the first 10 minutes. You’ve already gotten my $9. Chill for a minute
