Worked once.... then not again. Problems....

Don’t waist your time. I have used this app for nearly 3 years, they recently changed the appearance, which I don’t care for but am happy to live with. The real problem is the reliability. I am a full time live aboard and have used this app almost daily for the past 20 months. It began to be finicky a few months ago, but with the recent changes it’s now useless DON’T WAIST YOUR TIME Ryan

Awesome App. I cruise on a Jeanneau 42DS and I just want to say I love this app, it’s fantastic. So simple and so effective. One of the things I like the most is that almost every time I use it I forget to turn it off and while I’m leaving that anchorage the car horn starts beeping, often through my boat stereo, reminding me that it has silently been doings its job in the background protecting my boat. Thanks for an amazing app and thanks for selling it to me for one price and not trying to rent it to me.

Makes you a moderate paranoid!. I am always highly observant and extremely paranoid when I anchor close to the moored boats, rocks, etc. Sailing solo is fun and rewarding yet it comes with its arguably negative perks. Keeping an eye on the anchor especially during night time is one of them. Although I have only used the app two nights during my anchorage at Emerald Bay in Catalina Island, I can easily say that it immediately became my peace of mind tool... Unsolicited advice: Learn to anchor properly before relying on your apps, software or your navi. Cause you’re not anchored properly, they will keep you up all night... Happy anchoring!

Unsure about your mooring?. I have used this when picking up a mooring and living on the boat. We have used this app in full gales and it gives piece of mind. Easy to use and it warns you if you slide outside of the designated circle. Maybe a bit nervous but always use this when hanging on a mooring in gale force winds. It works for anchoring also.

Decent with questionable links. The app itself is what I have found to be the best regarding our anchoring practices. They have improved upon features however the latest are questionable. They paired with a company “boat vitals” but that company hasn’t put out any updates since July of 2020. They say you need their device which includes a few years of monitoring but nowhere is the price mentioned. That’s a huge red flag right there. Why advertise if your prices are secret? We are actively traveling outside of the US so internet availability is spotty and even when we have a connection, the quality ranges from almost good to very poor. Such a service is useless. What I have also found out is that without internet, you get zero visualizations. No circle, no trace, no map. There is no caching of data. The only way to tell if it is working is using your distance from the anchor coordinates. Too many companies cater to those within more developed areas and zero support for those who travel outside those areas. I mean, that’s the point of using anchor apps, because you are actively traveling and looking for something to keep your stuff safe when not in network, right? I see nowhere anything about sunsets or sunrises or moon phase. App updated this morning. I’ve been without internet for 2 weeks and come back to this hot mess.

Works well. The best anchor alarm I have had in 25 years of cruising. It has a few gps conflicts with other apps but if your diligent about making sure that other gps using apps are turned off it is just wonderful. Makes love sleeping with my iPad.

Easy to use. Very intuitive, easy. Seems accurate and no false alarms.

Update: Great app, especially the late set feature. Nice interface, but app fails to acquire anchor position and immediately shifts to alarm mode. Perhaps needs updating to current iOS? UPDATE: Issue appears to be related to using “feet” instead of “meters”. Switched to meters and app works great. Upgraded to four stars.

Buy it NOW. I have used this app for over three years. The alarm will wake you at an instant and the control of the anchor position, scope and area of drift is easily controlled. Buy this app and sleep in peace.

We are in an anchorage w/ 3’ waves. This app is awesome, it is rough and dark. I would normally stay up all night. I sleep through the night. Just make sure your phone is plugged in.

Not Performing. Bought this app with the hope the positive reviews were accurate. I’ve used the alarm app on a mooring buoy in the San Juan’s to gauge accuracy. The alarm shows the boat moving out of range and alarms frequently. Considering I’m on a buoy connected to the ocean floor with a helix you would think the boat would not move out of range. I’ve tried set and late set and played with parameters. If I’m doing something wrong would appreciate developer feedback. Update: the developer reached out to support. However, in using the app it’s important to give the app time to get an excellent gps fix. After waiting and then starting the app it performed as expected.

AWESOME. Great app !! I use it all the time !! Being on the hook full time can be a tad nerve racking when it blows 30+ and this fantastic little app lets me know if the guacamole is hitting the fan 🤪

Late Set. I like the Late Set feature!

Pretty good. Seems like a good concept. Not really intuitive. It would be much better if you could drag the anchor to where it actually is and have the boat swing from there. The way this is set up, you have to have your phone in your hand and set the anchor position when you drop it. I’m more likely to drop the phone since my hands are full.

Anchor alert. Great product. Anchor, point your phone at the bow, and tell Anchor Alert your best estimate of how far from the boat the anchor is (I take the rode length minus depth and freeboard and it is good enough), set the alert, and Bob’s your uncle.

Liked prior version. Missing late set which allowed better way to locate anchor distance from boat. Current setting sets position at current location. This may be at helm at stern of boat assume 50’ scope 10’ water and boat length 38’ I have spun around anchor 180 degrees and am now 150’ from where set. Anchor location is only about 1/2 or ~78’ can’t just leave alarm distance at 165’ as I continue to swing with wind change. Not useful

Wow. Now we can sleep!. Before I was nervous all night. Now I relax. This app works great!! Super easy!!!

Boat Saver. Excellent purchase! This costs a lot less than you boat smashing into rocks. Only thing I wish was that the anchorage feature was more robust. The app tells you some locations where you can anchor but not all of them. Perhaps users could be allowed to add their own locations?

Didn’t work. This app didn’t work at all for me. Every time I set my location (even when I set the margin for over 70ft) the alarm would immediately set off, even though the boat was static. Massive disappointment.

Anchor Alarm Excelent. Ten day sail from Pensacola, Fl to Mexico Beach/Port St Joe and back. Experienced many rough storms and anchor drug twice, Anchor Alarm alerted us with a plenty loud signal, not too loud. Easy to use, 35 ft Oday with about a 60 ft anchor line. (10 ft depth below keal) Set Alarm distance at 80 ft, GPS accuracy at 30 ft, draw trace - on (this draws where the boat moves as wind changes or anchor drags), Show Accuracy circle-on, anchor alarm as “doorbell”, Sounds to low volume warning -on…. SLEPT PEACEFULLY, though I am old and as I woke during the night a couple times and visually checked our position for added peace of mind and “all was well.”

Great app for cruising sailors.. Initially I had some questions regarding using the app, the developer responded very quickly and was helpful. There are a few quirks to get used to, such as the display always reading North up, but once you understand how it works it works great. The app itself is a lifesaver. I sleep better at night with it running in the background on my phone. The car horn alert wakes me instantly. If you’re a cruising boat and basically live on the hook, this app is a must have. I tried a couple different ones, including the ones included with my navigation software, but this app is the easiest to use and works as advertised. I use it every day and highly recommend it. Great app.. Used this for the first time, while sitting on anchor in 30-35 knot winds overnight. It worked great, alerted me twice, but I had set the meters at a lower amount. Really do recommend this app, my boat friends wish it could be used for Android.

No remote capability to text. Any anchor app that doesn’t support texting alarms to another phone is useless!!

Great anchoring aid. This app is wonderful. What sets it apart from others is your ability to do a “Late Set”, or activate after the anchor has been dropped and the chain/rode let out. Standing on the bow, playing with an app while anchoring is dangerous and easily could lead to losing your device. Not so with this app. Simply point your device in the direction of the anchor, enter the amount of chain/rode let out, and the depth and you get an accurate display. One word of caution. Distances are calculated to the device. If your iphone or iPad are in the cockpit or cabin, you’ll need to add the distance from the bow to the device to the amount of chain/rode used. Also you’ll want to add that distance to the safety perimeter so that your device remains within the confines of the alarm area. I’ve communicated this to the developer and hope to see this incorporated if a future update. I’d recommend this app to anyone dropping a hook anywhere anytime. Two thumbs up!

Good app to see swing room. When anchored in tight spots between coral bommies this app allows you to see how close you may swing when the wind changes! Very useful. The late set feature is a great asset!

Super accurate, super easy to use!!. I bought this because of the price, reviews and there appears to be a one time purchase price. I can’t believe the other guys have a yearly subscription!! The yearly subscription completely turned me off as boat life is expensive enough! So thank you guys. Anyways, it’s super accurate. I tested it at my marina and it was 100% accurate. I REALLY like the map option as you can actually see where your boat is to cross reference the accuracy of the GPS location. I walked to the back of my boat, I was at the back. I walked to the front of my boat, I was at the front. AMAZING! Keep up the good price and work! Also it has great option on the alarm sounds! One thing though... haha just kidding, perfection! :)
