About the creators:
S'moresUp was developed by longtime friends and techies Priya Rajendran and Reeves Xavier, who are passionate about using technology to solve parenting challenges.

Here is a quick message from Priya.

Hey folks, first of all, I appreciate you for taking the first step in looking to get help from technology in managing your families.

My name is Priya, and like most moms, I go by the title "Laya's Mom". I am a single mom with 3 jobs; a 24/7 parenting job, my mortgage-paying job as a technologist, and a passion job as a creator of S'moresUp.

S'moresUp was created as a simple home management system to bring consistency to my family. It brought significant changes to our home, and my friends started noticing the difference. I shared my solution with my friends and family looking for ways to manage their families better. Three years after, we have more than 130K families using the app.

Sometimes parenting is hard, but you don't have to tackle it alone. Give S'moresUp a try, and you would never want to go back to the old ways.

Happy Parenting!
Priya

Overlapping icons. I really like this app on my iphone. On my sons Samsung galaxy phones the icons for some reason are overlapping and they are unable to read the whole chore. I have updated the app. Turned the phones off and restarted the app multiple times. Has anyone else experienced this? I want to rate higher but right now I cannot due to two different phones having the same problem. I was looking into the subscription to support but cannot see all the icons or chores. Please help. Thanks

Who are these children?!?!. I can’t believe how transformational this has been for my children. Besides assigning points for chores which they are now doing completely without prompting, I have assigned points for playing outside for an hour uninterrupted, 30 minutes of daily reading, brushing their teeth, and a whole bunch of other little things that I want them to do besides just playing video games and complaining about everything I ask them to do. They have had the most positive attitude and are super excited about earning their rewards! I can’t believe how awesome this app is!

BEST chores app hands down!. I've looked at and tried several different 'chore' apps but this one far surpasses the others. I love that it is totally customizable and I'm able to tailor it for each of my kids. I have an autistic child. She is what some would call high-functioning but her autistic characteristics are definitely there and makes life difficult for her. When I tell you this app has changed everything it really has! Most autistic kids are very goal oriented and this app fills that need...at the same time it helps reduce communication issues and expectation problems are almost non-existent. For me it goes beyond 'chores'...I give rewards for 'keeping a good attitude' to 'not interrupting others while they are talking'. You can plug in any desired behavior for your child and they can earn points for it. And since it is customizable, you can even key in those really sensitive/difficult problems that an autistic child might have that most others wouldn't. Not only that, but all of my children can't seem to remember to do the everyday routines without me asking. Since we've had this app, I haven't had to ask even one time! 😳😁 Happy mom here. And just as an added bonus: Customer service rocks! I was a corporate trainer for several years and I'm telling you they have what I taught... 1. Be there 2. Listen 3. Be kind 4. Resolve 5. Do more than expected 6. Have fun They nailed it! - Sonja

Good for what it is, we just don’t need all the extras. I tried the app to see if it would help motivate my daughter (she’s 8) to track her chores since she was gifted a tablet for Christmas. At first she was engaged with it at and loved seeing her S’mores add up, but she’s honestly lost interest in it already. I’m not sure if we’ll keep using it or not. We personally do not need the extras like the calendar, or connecting with family with the Family Circle or Campfire, and I don’t list my own household tasks on the app. I just needed something basic to help my daughter want to do her chores and keep track of them. The app works great for that. I have her chores listed by time to keep them organized and have included a few bonus things a day like when she tracks her screen time or helps makes dinner. My only complaint is that the as needed chores are not checked off like the daily chores in the Weekly Chore Progress. There are chores for us like put away laundry, unload dishwasher, etc. that are not an everyday chore. Without having a checkmark for those, I’m not entirely sure she gets credit for them and I don’t know what day they were done. So changing that would be a nice feature. I will say that the admin team is fantastic and do seem engaged with users to continue making the app better. Even though we don’t have use for many of the features, overall I think it’s a very good app.

Pretty good app if some bugs can be fixed. Other than it being really slow sometimes and seem to freeze for a bit, it’s a pretty good app. Second day using it and my daughter seem to like it. I’ll update the review after using this longer. So far it’s mostly user friendly and if you’re stuck you can ask the community for help.

Thank you for keeping my neurodivergent family on task. We downloaded this app two weeks ago after reviewing chore apps/allowance trackers and this has exceeded all expectations so far. The chores are easy to customize for nearly every need. The only thing that would be nice (that I believe they are working on) is an option to set up the chore to show pending “until completed”. Sometimes deadlines need to be flexible so motivation isn’t lost. My ADHD 8yo LOVES the instant gratification of points upon completion of chores (after parent approval if set up as such!). I can tell if it going to be an awesome tool for teaching money-sense too. You can save points, redeem them for rewards, give them to other family members and also cash them out. As if the chores features were not enough, I LOVE the newly implemented “Do this…Don’t do that” section where you can customize bonuses and penalties. I use this section to track behavior. Things like “Don’t interrupt” or “Help your brother with something” don’t really fit in the chore section where they’re assigned to family members or put on a schedule or due at any specific time. The admin team is actively present on the community page and responds to questions and requests about the app regularly. Keep up the good work, y’all!!!

Great idea, needs a little work though.. We’ve been using this for a couple of days and what I do like about it is the kids are motivated to get things done. What I don’t like is it can be difficult figuring out how to navigate the app. The app also has a really bad lag so when you approve the kids chores sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes or so to show up as approved. At first it seemed the approve button didn’t work so it was a little frustrating. Now we know it takes a little bit to see changes. I’ve also assigned chores but they don’t seem to show up as a chore on the assigned list for the parents every time. With that being said I think it’s all small things that can be fixed with time. Should be a pretty cool app once they get things nailed down and running smoothly.

Excellent app! Hope you guys stick around!. I love this app! I was saddened when ChoreMonster was no longer available and I will miss a lot of the functions on that app. This app is wonderful. AND ITS FREE!! I love how there is a community where you can ask questions. It’s also great that you can deduct points because on ChoreMonster you could not do that. I like being able to deduct points if I didn’t have a reward listed and my child wanted something that I felt they must “pay” if they wanted to have that specific reward. On ChoreMonster it took a while for the system to propagate messages. This is really quick. The photos are a little tinier than ChoreMonster but that’s something I can live with. Perfect app because it also has a calendar function. Ugh! I love, love, love it!!!

App wishlist. The app isn't as intuitive as I would have liked. There is a learning curve and calculating reasonable s'mores values is a thought process. I would like the ability to have one chore assigned to more than one child so the child that selects to do it, it will ghost out so the other child will not be able to select it once it's been completed. I would also like to assign tasks that need to be done more than one time a day (like take the dog out to potty) without having to assign it many times. I would love to have the app have a full blown iPad version as opposed to an enlarged iPhone version. The aspect ratio is off and not landscape mode friendly.

So far great, looking forward to more. So far the app does everything it needs to, which is great! It has been surprisingly hard for us to find an app that fits our needs, and FINALLY we found this one! It seems to function a tad slow, which really isn’t a huge problem, it doesn’t much affect functionality, but it can be very mildly frustrating at times. But it’s a very small downside. The only real issue I see is that my “kid” can’t see the calendar. I had read that this issue had been addressed from a review I read before downloading but I may have misunderstood. I have seen that as a developer you keep up to date and keep adding useful features and fixing issues like this one, so I’m pleased to know that such things are possible in the future and I look forward to using this app more!

I like it.. This app is helping me manage my sons chores and help promote the behaviors were looking for. If I could improve on it in any way, I would make the chores able to be done multiple times in a day. Like for instance if a child took out the trash 5 times in one day, I would need to create another category for that.

Awesome!. This app is perfect for giving your children responsibilities and teaching them about taking care of their business which leads to rewards! They can earn money and it encourages them to create goals! It also helps them to learn time and money management. Oh and yes...points can be taken away too! So, if the job isn’t done correctly then you don’t get paid in real life and this also helps them learn this concept as well. This type of responsibility also helps children self manage and cultivate a sense of independence! And my two sons ages 9 & 11 absolutely love this app! We all have iPhones and it works great!! Side note: The app can be a little glitchy like my one of my sons couldn’t log in after successfully using the app on the first day it was installed. So, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and it has been working fine ever since! Also when you are trying to add a reward like “dining out” if you create the reward and then decide to edit it the app will keep closing, but if you just delete the reward and recreate it it will work. The boys have the iPhone 8’s and us parents have the 11 pro max if that helps any.

We are really enjoying this!. Our family is loving to have a creative and fun platform to make goals as a family, communicate and, work together to take care of all the daily needs. I like that you can tailor the goals to fit your family style. My kids want to save up to go on special hikes and go camping… which are all the things I really want to do with them, but sometimes become difficult while just trying to get all of the chores done and take care of the family and our baby with special needs. Smaller goals look like a tub of ice cream, for an ice cream night. The kids seem to be more understanding of the why behind the chores, and want to work together as we all want to go do these fun things! My incentives will look different than other families but, I love that we have that option to makes the goals to work toward that fit our individual families :) Well done app developers!

:(. I know that this app is aimed for families with children. I do not have children but thought this app would be amazing for me (especially because neurodivergent and for apps to be successful for me, I need it to be aesthically pleasing, rewards, etc) thought I hit the jackpot with this. I couldn’t finish signing up because it wouldn’t allow me to continue without having at least one child. Again, I understand apps being aimed towards certain people, or even to seeking to maintain that environment..but if it would really help out another community or person then I don’t think this is so necessary. When I tried to contact the company privately (I’ve never done a review and REALLY didn’t want to give a “bad” review just to get contact but I wasn’t sure what else to do :( So yes anyways, is there anyway the company can consider this change or no?

Great Motivator!. My kids have really bought into this token reward system. It’s a well thought out app. Using technology to track and to manage chores is perfect for today’s youth. To help the kids buy in, we assigned chores to my husband and myself too. It makes it more of a team effort. We made sure to have rewards that were bigger so we can all pool our s’mores together to redeem as a family. We also of course have smaller ones they can achieve individually. It’s a good idea to be very generous with the s’more you give out at firs so the kids can get immediate satisfaction. Give your kids a little grace at first when starting this. Both with them remember and the quality to which they complete the chores. Great app!

Seems really good so far. Looked at a few different apps and this one has impressed me the most with covering the different scenarios I’m interested in. Any chance a full iPad version is coming? I have a horizontal in wall iPad and would love to keep this up on the wall for the kids. Also, they have an iPad but no phone therefore they could update their chores on their iPad. Of course it runs in mini mode on iPad but that isn’t very attractive.

You nailed it!. I just needed an easy way to keep track of points for my kids. I LOVE everything about this app so far! I love that I can take points away if necessary and can just make a note rather than having a list of punishments and their deduction values. I also love the badges and that my kids can easily see how they stack up to each other! The layout is appealing and simple, and my kids are really loving it too! Thank you for making such an awesome app!

Great app! Thank you!. I love this app! For one it is FREE no hidden fees! My kids love it! I have 3 kids ages 10, 8 and 6. I took me about 2 hours one night to set it all but. I put in all the chores I wanted each of them to do. I was able to leave chores as optional so anyone could claim like fold laundry. There are preset chores already in here. I could change the “s’mores” amount. I set up rewards. Extra one hour of screen time. Spending the night at cousins house. I have never seen my kids do chores fast enough. They love it. I waited to write a review for 6 weeks Because I thought the “newness” would wear off or there would be a glitch etc. I can’t say in this house I have found one. My kids ask me to add more chores all the time. I can’t say enough!!!! Thank you for making this amazing app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love this!. I never leave reviews for hardly anything… least of all an app but this has been such a blessing in my household! I have a daughter who struggles staying on task and as a full-time, working single-mother it’s hard to keep her on track and parent her while I’m away. S’mores up has allowed me to organize my household, hold my girls accountable, and teach them responsibility. I love that there is the option to forego the reward system but for us it helps keeps us motivated! I only wish there was an option to create my own badges and more artwork options there too.

Great chore app. We originally downloaded this app to help our kids (14, 11, and 10) stay motivated and on top of their chores, but it’s become so much more. The kids love earning and spending their s’mores and I love not having to nag them to do chores. I also have my own chores planned out in the app, I have them set to reoccur daily, every other day or weekly depending on the chore. For someone that’s not naturally tidy, this app works!

Bummer. I really wanted to like this. It had everything I needed. But it constantly kept crashing anytime I tried to do anything. Finally just gave up. Will look for something else. Update: they fixed the app issues. Finally got it downloaded and working. We really like this as myself and my husband can track our daughter’s progress through the day. Very easy to use and makes it fun for kids.

Password reset? Support?. For whatever reason, I was booted out of the app. Had to re-login. Annoying, but it happens. So I try to login, but iCloud didn't save the password and I don't remember it. Fine, then I'll reset it. Provided my email via the app, but never received an email in return so there's no link for me to follow. Can I reset it from the website? No. Doesn't provide a way. Can I email support through the website? No, the form errors. Can I get support thorough the app? No, need to login which I can't do. Can I use the developer support link that's on the app's app store page? No, 404 didn't exist error. No phone number. No address. W. T. F. Absolutely horrible experience. I have a subscription too. So I can't even cancel it. Finally i just found a buried link to ask a question on the site. At the bottom in a site map? Nope. In the site menu at the top? Nope. Just lost in the middle of the extremely long vertical scroll. And it leads me to yet another form, different than the one that errors. Why is it so hard to do this?! It should be dead simple and wildly obvious. All these broken paths to get support are ridiculous.

Great for my teens, one with ADHD. I can’t believe how well this worked! My kids are loving the competition and even collaborating on chores. They get to come up with rewards and negotiate for special prizes. I don’t have to ask them, maybe on occasion give them a nudge. As my husband says, for us, this app is well worth the money. He’s even playing. I don’t know how other parents do it, but they is what has gotten my hard headed adhd kid to get his chores done without a fuss.

Like it so far but.... I like it and like that I can add new chores and assign them to the kids but I wish there was a way to just have a no time limit option too. So they can do extra work without me giving it a specific day. I also wish the kids could see the calendar. I got this thinking that they could and thought I could use this as a family calendar at the same time so she can input her own events like softball practice or games, school events. Unless I’m not doing it right I don’t think there is a way for her to use the calendar or even look at it. But it’s great for my younger daughter who is 3. She can’t read but she can look at the pictures and learn what each picture means and then go in and collect her s’mores.

More direction needed. I like this app a lot and our family has tried several. There is a community function for users to chat and it appears the developers used to answer questions, but no longer do so. Some of the functions are confusing and could use clarification or a tutorial. Parents should be able to share/spend/save as well and there doesn’t appear to be a way for the family to work toward goals together. Could be a stellar app with a little more attention to detail.

Decent features, horrible implementation. The app looks fairly decent, but has some major issues. It doesn’t support iPad, which is fairly big deal because the UI is cluttered enough that it could easily benefit from the additional screen real estate. The app is somewhat confusing to use. This is partly due to the cluttered interface, but I never figured out how to complete what should be relatively simple things like moving a chore to a new group. There are some good features built into the app and I wish it wasn’t so clunky to use.

Only missing one thing. FANTASTIC APP. The only thing it's missing is a chronological order system. If I could put their chores in some sort of a personalized order instead of just grouped by time of day, it would be perfect! The chores with multiple times a day, such as brush teeth, shows up at the very bottom so my kids miss it.

Perfect for our family needs. As the caregiver and live in aunt of one autistic child and their sibling, I can say without a doubt that this app has helped make our lives a bit simpler. We can add chores and points for various activities for the kids. We can reward them with badges and bonus points. We can set them on a routine schedule by setting the times on items they are supposed to do, and teach them both responsibility skills and monetary skills. The development team has taken a great amount of time and care with this app and truly listen to what their users want to see to better it. They are quick to respond and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends and family as an option for organizing things within the family as well because you can also use it to add “chores” to the adults as well to help them stay on track too! Thanks for such a useful app!

Good but not great. Pros: I love the customization of the chores and the rewards. Offers a great bank of ideas and its easy to set up. All for free! Cons: there isn’t a way to keep kids from switching to the adult account and making changes to their chores. Also when they compete a chore it doesn’t sync to all devices so one phone shows it was completed while another one doesn’t. Makes it kind of hard for all of us to be on the same page.

Amazing app. Although this app seems to still be working on many things, using our feedback, it is still one of the very best apps I’ve used! My child loves it and so do I! The calendar feature is very nice. I think with them still taking suggestions into consideration (which it seems like they are doing very well) it will really be the best chore/ behavior app out there!

This is perfect for your ADHD teen and to keep family organized. I have a child that needs constant prompts for everything. It’s just the way it is. He’s glued to his phone and so having this app create reminders for him for every little thing is God send. Incentive is huge for adhd kids so being able to reward and also give appreciation badges and turn the s’mores into money is huge. Thank you for so much detailed work in this app. Keep it coming! Maybe add material that you can access for a teenager to help prepare and transition to college and adult life. (So the app doesn’t look so babyish.)

Good app😁. I really like this app you can log your chores on your own iPad and has great features like the calendar and the section where you can see how many s’mores you have. And also it is controlled by your parents and also doubles so that your parents can see how your doing -Aiden. 9 years

Mostly Very Good, But.... Overall, very good. And I think I may become a paying user, but there are some serious load-time issues and a couple bugs/oversights that seem like they should have been addressed out by now. Bug: When l try to use the Advanced scheduling to set up a chore that has more than one week between completions, the interface will not allow me to enter a number of completions different from the number of days in the frequency block I'm trying to use. For instance, if I am trying to enter a chore that needs to be completed X time(s) every X months, it will default to 31 times every X months. If I am trying to enter a chore that needs to be completed X time(s) every X weeks, it will default to 7 times every X weeks. If I try to change it to 1 time every X weeks/months, it will not assign the chore until it reverts back to the auto-populated incorrect value. Oversight: Though it's obvious that SmoresUp is trying to get users to use the app to manage their schedules, the fact is most of us who already use a cloud calendar use Google Calendar. It is so feature rich with countless integrations and a robust development cycle, that very few SmoresUp users would every consider leaving Google in favor of SmoresUp. With that, it would be far more beneficial for SmoresUp to allow users to push the chore schedule to a Google Calendar than to pull the Google Calendar into SmoresUp. Fix those two things and I will gladly pay for the service without hesitation.

Love this!. I have never written a review before, but I am so impressed with this app that I felt compelled to let others know! We’ve been using this for about two weeks and am thoroughly overwhelmed by the amount information this will track while also giving so much flexibility to customize it for my family. The community page for all app users is a beautiful concept! We are able to share ideas and get feedback from the developers well within 24 hours! The developers post frequently regarding the updates on which they are working and respond to users questions and ideas well within 24 hours! Other chore apps we have used will not sync between our devices; this app syncs seamlessly. Each of my boys has it on their phones & my husband and I have the app on our phones as well. The only time a device was missing info was due to an iOS update delay. Easily fixed and back up and running! I HIGHLY recommend this app!

LOVE the app—-Hate the bugs. This app has SO much potential. It has truly changed my kids habits over the past month. However, I feel like I created another job for myself trying to fix the issues and sync problems which defeats the purpose of making my kids self reliant. We will continue using in hopes that one day soon it will be a smoother process. I’ll gladly pay at that point! Oh…and I would love to see an iPad edition…

I love this app!!!. I am a 12 year old, almost 13. I love this app! I love how I can achieve goals and get rewarded and can keep up with points! I did this with my brother once (without any app) and j always tried to keep track of points, but I just couldn’t! This app makes it easy to get points and know for sure you have the right amount! One thing you could add, a kids debit card! It could be really easy to reward kids their earned money and allowance! Just a suggestion!

Great app!. SmoresUp is a great app to help you to remember what to do and when. I’m not a parent, but I can still say that SmoresUp has helped my whole family-even my mom and dad- to keep track of what we do. It’s also great because of all of the options- What to do with Smores, sharing, placing rewards. I also love the Family Campfire, my parents don’t really like group chats but respond to the Family Campfire. I know that not very many people would take me seriously because I’m only ten, but SmoresUp is an app that everyone should have handy- in my opinion. Thank you SO much SmoresUp makers, you have made my family and my own life so much easier! EVERYONE DOWNLOAD!

So far, the best chore app out there. It’s not perfect, but I’ve tried several of the other chore apps in the App Store, and this one is by far the best one. There are bugs here and there, and there are a few features I would love to see added, but so far the developers have been responsive and are attempting to address the issues.

Awesome app! Cute design 💗. Using it to track daily goals with my boyfriend. I checked my “workout” chore after doing 5 squats and then my boyfriend saw it and punished some s’mores away for short exercise 😂. It took us some time to figure out how to use all the functions and there can be improvements, but overall it’s awesome!

Pretty good but calendar doesn’t sync. Overall works nicely. You can sync your google calendar but it seems to only sync that one time. If you want it to update then you have to turn your calendar off and then back on. If this were fixed it’d probably be a 5 star app. Also, the ability to set take away amounts for certain behaviors. I.e. -5 for hitting etc. that way you don’t have to come up with amounts on the fly. It can be predetermined.

Love it so far!. It’s got a cute interface, it’s easy to understand, for the most part very intuitive. I tried 3 apps and this was by far the easiest to set up and get going. It is a little laggy in syncing and I can’t seem to click the notifications tab in the app, but even with that my son is very excited to try this out!

Great App for Organizing My Family. This app is great for organizing chores for my family. My kids are super excited to check things off and get rewards. It’s highly customizable for each family. The only problem is it times out every once in a while and has some quirks where it runs slow sometimes. Other than that it’s awesome!

Was so happy, then complete disappointment. I was really enjoying this app. My girls were getting into the different options available and actually doing their chores and checking them off. Then I received notice that I had to subscribe or just have the basics. Still I was happy. Then the app logged me out. My password does not work. I have tried to reset my password, but after submitting multiple requests I have gotten no email with a link to reset. I reached out to the email for customer service and still have not received a response. I’m locked out and no help is being given despite multiple attempts. I guess they only care about the people who subscribe and pay.

Great app...too great!. I am struggling with this review because this app offers so much. The problem is that it’s too much. It’s overwhelming and I can’t find things sometimes. My kids get a little frustrated as well. •There are so many options and I LOVE them, but then 2 extra points show up in my daughters bank and I have no way to find out where they came from. •Also there is no feature to see the history on the rewards claims and when. •I created a duplicate category and can’t figure out how to delete it. •There are about three different places to choose different categories but each represents something different. •There are also random blogs that can’t be shut off. My kids kept ending up lost in the app.

Cannot even create an account. You cannot finish the on boarding process. I had to send the app link to my laptop browser to finally finish, after struggling for 30-45 minutes. Finally o got through the on boarding, went to log in, and it says my login information is not valid. Also, when I went to the contact page on their website to ask for support, it said, “There was an error trying to send you a message. Please try again later.” Great app.

A lot of issues with layout on iPhone XS Max. Update: Great support from the development team. Hopefully the concerns below will be resolved soon, nonetheless 5 stars for your attention to these comments! I’ve been playing around with this app for a few hours and it looks like it’ll fit my family needs. However I’m having lots of issues with the app layout on an iPhone XS Max; all options at the top on several views are almost laying on top of the iOS icons for clock and battery... and they’re unresponsive. Also, the profile pictures get cut off at the top, and I have three kids added and the main page cuts the pictures as well. Also the Gmail calendar doesn’t seem to sync. I tried reporting these issues on the developer’s page for this app, but I get errors there too when trying to submit feedback.

Love it!. Takes a little getting use to it and setting it up! It can lag a little but definitely worth it! They also are on top of customer support if you have a issue or have suggestions! I wonder if it be possible to ad a widget for the kids to do on their end because they loved that part of chore monster being able to build up their monster and play a game for an award how I think it’s setup for the parent to be in complete control! It just took my 2nd oldest a few days to like it over my dry erase board on the frig bc he misses chore monster but he’s been earning rewards and I added a few more today geared to his age (12) but definitely as a parent love it!! Completely in control as a parent and motivation X100 for my 8 yr old and 10 yr old!!

Needs improvements.. The first day it worked great and it was all fine. Then the next day, when I woke up (I’m the kid) it wouldn’t let me log into my account or my moms account. I can’t receive emails so the fact I can’t reset my password is on me. But seriously, It logged me out and when I entered the correct name and password a thing popped up saying they ‘couldn’t verify my credentials’. Not a fun way to start the morning. Other than that, I liked it a lot it’s just after this I deleted the app.

Love it!. I love the clean and crisp design of S’moresup! It's easy to use and understand and follow even for lil kids. As a messy disorganized person it is very helpful to have the chores organized by age. We just started using it and so far my daughter is pretty motivated by her s'mores rewards! I like that it incorporates a lot of things under 1 roof like teaching kids about chores, healthy habits, savings habits etc. I see myself using it and not giving up.

Very thorough, a lot of options. We’ve been using this app for several years, and have seen how it’s grown to accommodate many family dynamics. We have three neuro-atypical kiddos (12, 15, and 17) with vast differences in learning styles, strengths, and challenges. This app is thorough, dynamic, and, most of all, customizable to each family and family member’s needs. It’s a lot to learn BUT don’t fret- the steps to to learn it all are provided in bite sized portions, allowing any family to dip their toes in and implement at their own pace. And, like all good things, it seems to grow and change as its community’s needs do.

Hopeful but disappointed. I was really looking forward to trying this app out with my family but I can’t get the chores to stay visible in the app. I posted and the team have replied once but haven’t followed up. It’s been over a week since I posted the question initially.

I hate this app. We used to use OurHome but when that stopped working I put a bit of time into trying to find a new chore app and settled on this one. I hate it every day that I have to use it, so many limitations, not helpful. I think I’m changing to a chart on the wall. I’ve written to the developers number of times. Sometimes they answer sometimes they don’t and when they do it’s usually just to say oh sorry our app isn’t designed to do that.

Loving this app. My youngest is 5. What would make this even more awesome is to be able to have hyper links in the instructions box, to be able to add a voice file and even a video to the instructions box. This will help for kiddies who aren’t reading yet... an issue that can last even to 11 yrs in some cases. Also would be handy to thoroughly tailor repeats, especially for fortnightly and monthly routines. I’m all revved up to organise my own tasks and motivators here. Thanks 😃

Doesn’t work on smaller phone screens. This app doesn’t work on my daughters phone as the screen is too small.

Worst App ever!. Touchscreen doesn’t work when I try to create an account. Stupid app developers fix this or you have proven you are extremely bad at coding! So disappointed and angry and frustrated!!!!!! Fix this ! Fix it!!!

Great could improve. This is awesome but would be better if their was a setting for every 2 weeks or once a month, and the option to turn off the due by time.

Cool app but not user friendly. Tried using this app again for the second time, there’s a lot more options now than when I tried using it a few years ago. The fact that the app is still around and has developed quite significantly over the years is promising however many of the “features” the app has, you cannot use or are difficult to use. The user manual and FAQ offers no help as it doesn’t cover most of the newly implemented features such as the “Do this.. not that” and when you try to contact the developers using the options available, like blog posts and support submissions, no one gets back to you. I would definitely consider rating this higher if I could use all of the features that are available, and might I add that I pay for as a subscriber. However, I will more than likely be discontinuing my subscription instead until they make it possible to properly use all of the features currently available.

Registration glitch. I downloaded the app, started to set up an account but it wouldn’t let me finish. At one point of the set up (the step where it’s looking for chores to recommend based on your preferences), it kept on reverting back to the previous set up step. There was no option to skip the step or otherwise finish the setup. I’m disappointed because I chose it from a list of online recommendations and was looking forward to using it. But I don’t have time to wait for issues to be fixed, because I need a chore app now. So I deleted this app since I obviously can’t use it and downloaded a different chore app that works.

Very good, but not great yet. So far my kids love it and I love that they we can change chores (add photo and approval etc, that feature is awesome) but here are a few critiques: A bit slow in updating but just got a note about an update? I would like it if the checklist feature was actually just a simple one list checklist instead of always going to the weekly chart. And then in setting up a chore, it would be nice if it didn’t automatically set to take photo or not, or approval or not and who it notifies - I would like it if I could set these settings for each chore. And the last thing I noticed is that not all the completed chores show up in the same spot - some are in notifications, some in family campfire and some in family chores. It would be nice if everything I needed to approve was in one place, like campfire. After saying all that, we actually do really like the app, just needs a few tweaks before it’s amazing. Thanks!

Latest update lost all history. With the update We can’t retrieve the history and activities of our kids transactions despite being premium subscribers. Tried to message developers but webform wouldn’t work. All around glitchy. Too bad. We loved this app before and recommended it to friends. Not anymore.

How to videos. It would be helpful to have some Videos on how to assign chores and set up family members. It’s a beautiful and incredibly detailed app., but the reason I am here is because I am desperately overworked! A series of videos on exploring and setting up your family page would be helpful! Thankyou!

Great app. It works great. And my kids love it too

Has potential but needs a lot of work. I just started setting up the app today. As a parent what I want in terms of a chore app is something that’s easy to setup , flexible and allows me to track the things I care about. SmoresUp is not easy to set up. Each task seems to require a due date, but it’s not clear from the interface (there’s no tutorial) whether this should be when you want the task done or when it ends. Sometimes it defaults to a time in the past, but whenever you try to save a task with the default values it gives an error, which is bad design. And why can’t I create chores that repeat forever!??? It’s lacking a little in the flexibility too. Most chore apps allow you to set some type of points reward, this is the only one I’ve seen where you can only choose from 4 preset options (ie you can’t set say 12 points for one task and 15 for another). I do like the community tab and the ‘personal growth’ type tasks. I’m definitely willing to give it a chance depending on what my daughter thinks, but so far hasn’t impressed me

Great App. Great app, fun way for the whole family to do family chores in a fun way. The ability to set goals/rewards is fantastic! Would love to see some iCloud calendar sync in the future too.

New update is trash. New update is trash

How do you even delete chores. For some reason I tried to deleting chores and I looked on my kids up and then for some reason I did clean table in the summer ones and they were copied on to it like and I wish you could just tell us how to like delete it

The best chore app I’ve had. This is the best! My child loved it and began to do chores! Thanks

Better than the rest. Tried several apps. This one is the best one that i have found. Still in the evaluation process. So far, so gpod.

Chargement. Temps de chargements entre les actions trop long.

Decent. This is a decent app. Not completely user friendly but good enough. Guess I should have read to the bottom of the description though as I did not realize there was only a 45 day trial. Definitely not worth paying for in my opinion, sorry. Deleted our account :(

Engaging and fun. I have a lot of children and all of them are engaged and having fun earning s’mores and cashing them in.

Literally just spam. So my mom signed me and my sisters up for it and I was like, “Oh, this looks fine!” And then I got into it and was like, not too great. But when I’m on my phone, and I have a reminder, about 500 COME AFTER IT!!! >:( It has potential, yes, like maybe the notifications could say like, “check your chores” or something. It is annoying though how many notifications I get from it. Like when I’m taking a shower and listening to music, my music will pause because of who knows how many notifications. And I have to get out of the shower just to unpause my music and get back in. This is REALLY annoying me. Please change it ASAP. But other than that, like I said. It has potential. -thank u,

Will up rating when features appear. This app is super cute. Fun interface, easy to track chores and rewards. I’ll up my rating to 5 stars when: a communal grocery list is added, more than 2 adults can be added, and one-time chores can be viewed and completed early. I love this idea I’m having so much fun with it!

S’mores is approved. S’mores is a great application. It is fairly easy to figure out and use. I love the redeemable points system because it works for my daughter. It is easier to teach my six year old responsibility and how to take initiative.

Nice but some problems😉. This app is great and I think you should download it. But when a child completes a chore the adult has to approve I as a child hate that so my mom said she didn’t have to approve and we found a setting for that. I love s’mores up and honestly think you should download it👌👍😀

Simple and Superb! ( Warning: your kids will agree with you!). This app has all the stuff to make parenting easier! 👍🏼 Appealing interface catches kids attention very quickly! 😍 I am that kind of a guy who hesitates to try hands on new stuffs. But... trust me, I felt as if I was doing this for years!!! 🤷🏼‍♂️ What do you wait for?? Go on to try for yourself...!

Calendar doesn’t always work. I love the app, it definitely keeps my family and I organized and on track! Unfortunately, the calendar only works 10% of the time. I will upgrade to 5 stars once this is fixed.

Great app. Great app, although a little buggy: 1. The overdue menu is super laggy 2. Chores that require proof are submitting without requiring proof. This started after chore cards were added Here’s a suggestion: Make the family campfire cached yo your device, so then every time you want to look at it, you don’t have to wait 30 seconds for it to load. If you do add that, be sure to allow people to delete the cache. Overall great app, I would totally recommend.

Nice App to Track Family Goals. We have 4 kids and it works well for keeping track of what’s been done and who is assigned to what.

It’s pretty good. I think this app is really good and helps organize my family and kids. How ever I am begging you guys to some how convert s’mores you earn into money some how because I want to be able to add things for 50 cents or something like that.

This is the perfect app for us. I have been searching for a fun app that allowed me to track chore progress with ease. My kids love using it and even my hubby is able to keep track and be an enforcer vs just the fun parent 😂 thanks for this app.

Good concept but still needs work. App is a bit buggy. I like being able to set goals and badges for the kids to earn. I wish the design was a bit more simple. All the different menus and settings feel a bit messy, however, the app does do what its meant to do!

Great app. This app is amazing, I love it, it is quite easy to use. One thing that I can’t figure out is how to delete a chore, I accidentally added a chore for both me and my daughter, when I meant to only add it for my daughter, how would I delete chores from 1 person, or delete a chore altogether?

Great - Needs a little tune up. This is an awesome app to organize your family if you take the time to enter and organize everything. It has the potential to be awesome, there are just a few lags and updates it could use.

good idea... but.... i really like the idea of it... but any time i change anything, it takes forever to load and that makes it hard to use. also it would be nice to be able to add chores for the parent/admin aswell.... it helps my kids work in their stuff, when tgey see what i’ve got on my list.... or having a list if thing that All of us need to get done and they can pick which if them they want to do

Awesome app. My 5 kids, all the way from the five-year-old to the 14-year-old, have become so motivated to do their chores on time because of this app! It is so easy to use and they love the Star Wars theme!

Cannot set up. App will not let me reset password or choose birthdays for family members, including myself. I don’t want to provide that information anyway. Far too much personal info required so far. Not that I can get past the sign-up process to determine the usefulness of the app. I have tried on and off for a week or so now. Not worth that frustration.

Glitchy. Great app, my kids and I love it! BUT..completed chores don’t always show up, approving/rejecting chores doesn’t always work without refreshing the family wall, just a lot of glitchy things that should be easy fixes.

Would love it but needs one thing.. Needs to have a parent option to get a reward. It adds my parent point but I can’t cash them out for a reward.

GREAT APP!. Love this app!! We’ve got the whole family set up on it and the kids have been amazing at helping out with chores (something we thought impossible!) and they love that they have set goals and rewards for doing their chores. This app makes doing chores fun!!

Awesome!. What I’ve been looking for! And for free??!! Thank you so much. I would love for it to alert when chores are done instead of me having to go looking for it! This is just first day use, after a couple weeks of use and still going smooth, I’ll update to 5 stars!

Good but a few issues. Update: They fixed the issue and things are working better for me and my kids. Thank you.

So hard for mom. I’ve used this app for 6 months with my kids. There’s so much junk you have to plow through to get to the chores. I don’t need a newsfeed as my first button. Kids are constantly being logged off and I can’t remember the login for each kid every time it happens. Then to setup the chores requires a Masters Degree...which I have...but I would like to use it for other things besides assigning chores. The reward system is difficult to use and cash out.

Apple Calendar. This is everything our family needed BUT please integrate Apple Calendar for us Apple people. I already use it as shared calendar but the kiddos would love seeing the fun interface of your app!

Interesting Idea: Programming Issues. This app could work for young individuals with neurodivergent minds, except for a few issues: 1) the layout is inconsistent across devices; our phones show a different resolution from our tablet 2) navigation is not intuitive 3) getting to support is a bit confusing and cumbersome 4) instructions for interacting with updated content is not accurately reflected in the “faq” or other “how-to” guides This company could benefit from a bit more oversight and clearer communication. Overall, this is a promising product; but I question where the subscription cost is going.

Made chores fun!!. This app has helped my child Love his chores! This app has helped make my life less stressful by helping my kid to remember to do his chores without me having to nag him all the time it is a really good motivator for him and helps him to be responsible I recommend this app for every mom out there!

No support. We’ve been trying this app out this month. I’ve asked about 10 questions in the last 23 days via their support and haven’t heard a single response for any of my questions. Very very frustrating.

Greatest App for chores. I’ve tried numerous apps for chores and rewards; this one is the BEST! It’s not to “babyish” and it’s also not to overwhelming and boring. It has been quite effective in motivating my kids to stay on track of their responsibilities and get rewarded for their efforts.

Life saver. I have tried so many chore apps and this one is perfect. I love the penalty option and the family wall that allows you to go back and review. I Have already told so many friends about it, and have only been using it for a week.

Great app! What about split households?. Do you have any recommendations for including parents from a split household (primary and step parents) or, instead, giving kids the ability to belong to more than one account? Or is the ability to support kids with two households something you might be working on? Thanks!

Won’t let me log in!. I tried this app out just over a year ago and loved it but my daughter wasn’t quite old enough. Now she’s old enough and I went to try it again and it’s telling me I’m that it can’t verify the credentials. I’ve tried resetting the password and reinstalling the app but still the same issue.

I really do recommend this app. This app is great for a family of 5 and my mom has been using this app all the time to do chore’s

Won’t stop charging even after canceled. The app itself is decent, albeit with some quirks. However, we have canceled this a couple times in the past and yet I’m seeing monthly charges again today. 🤷‍♀️

Sync Cozi Calendar. I was wondering if it would be possible to sync the calendar with Cozi. I find it easier to manage family calendars than Google. The kids would find it helpful to have chores and their individual calendars in one app.

My Search is Over!. I’m really loving this app. It is comprehensive yet intuitive. Highly recommend giving us a try..

Needs iPad support. My kids don’t have phones but do have iPads. While the app is able to be viewed on the iPads, it’s clear the app isn’t designed to be viewed on them. This update would be awesome.

Amazing results, responsive staff. I adore this app, it has helped to inspire and motivate my 4 kiddos (age 6 to 15) and has significantly reduced our frustration over chores. The staff is amazingly responsive to issues/questions/concerns/suggestions. Highly valued app and developers 🙌❤️ Thank you, S’moresUp!

Love it!!. I tried another chore app. It was terrible. Once I found s’mores up I was praying that it was going to be an amazing app. Sure enough it was. I definitely recommend it!!

If only there was an IPad App. Oh man. I was looking forward to using this app. But it was made unusable the moment I couldn’t use my IPad Pro on its keyboard stand because the software makes me rotate the IPad and that is something I am just not going to do. Pretty graphics, smart ideas for time and task management, and I really wanted to take a look at that kid’s digital wallet. Maybe someday.

Perfect for the Little Ones. Been hard to find an app that’s simple and intuitive, but this one does it all. Doesn’t require any purchases or show any ads. Comes complete with the works. Could not be any happier with this app. Keep it up. (:

Frustrating setup. I haven’t used the app yet but I can say that the setup was irritating. It wouldn’t let me enter my son’s age. It kept saying wrong format but didn’t say what the right one was. It took me on a tour of features then forced me to send my family a message. There was no way to just skip sending a message. I haven’t even used the app yet. I have no message to send. Maybe I will like it better once I get going.

So far, so good. I just started using this app and I already am very excited about it. I can tell there are still a lot of great things coming and it seems the makers love suggestions. I will update in a few weeks, after we have been using it.

This is fantastic. Can I donate?. I am a huge fan of what you’ve created here. I can tell you listen to your users and constantly improve your product. This is a rare gem in the App Store. This app makes for a happier more organized family. Is there an option somewhere to donate to this cause?

Great App. This app is exactly what my family was looking for. It’s helping our kids and us make a game out of building new habits! The staff is super responsive when we have questions or suggestions about the app.

Nothing but errors.. Registering didn’t work. Got an email saying I had subscribed to the premium plan and the another one saying I unsubscribed (I never subscribed). Got errors trying to invite my partner and he ended up getting multiple invites. Button to creat a chore didn’t work. Also, creating chores was super unintuitive, there are too many options for something as simple as “put clothes in washing machine” which is really all I needed.

3rd hand for a parent. Ok, I recently downloaded this app. Interesting name! At first look, I liked the simplicity and easy to access menus and navigation. The subtle color and the text is very pleasant. I haven’t started using it very much, sure will start using soon. Thanks Team.

Good but confusing. I think that for the app there should be a tutorial because when you first start its a bit over whelming

Almost…. The app is pretty good. But if you need customer support, you can forget it. They responded once and were never heard from again. Our problem is a dealbreaker and if my question isn’t important then I’m canceling the subscription.

Only on iPhone. Currently evaluating S’moresUp but was disappointed to find that it is only designed for the iPhone. Our daughters do not have an iPhone yet - too young - but they do have iPads. I realize that the iPhone version works on the iPad but only in iPhone mode and would probably not get used as much because of that.

Problems with assigned chores. I’m having problems with it adding chores to the wrong kids. Other than that I’m a new user. I’ve had no other problems and the app has a great concept. The kids seem to like it but it has been really frustrating for me.
