Wouldn’t recommend for rideshare drivers. Was told to use this app for charging and have regretted it every moment. The chargers almost never work and you have to call customer service. They do work sometimes but they will be the slow ones. When you drive up if anyone else is there you will find they either have had an issue or found the one charger that does work meaning yours won’t. Once I called them and the dude laughed in my face and then hung up.I called back and they hung up again. Another time I called and a lady was super rude to me and they took like $80 off of my card and I still couldn’t charge. This being said, I have a lot of patience and a sick sense of humor so I can appreciate a one off but it’s been like this for 3 weeks- issues maybe 75% of the time which is costing me money and time I don’t have. I would recommend finding other chargers/apps to avoid the hassle.

Disappointing. This is an app that has data but wants to make it hard for you to get it and use it. When you search the map it does not show you the results on the map, only a list. What? There is no search from my current location option. Just dumb. Then if you move or resize the app it does not let you perform a search in the new area. Frustrating. This app was recommended by a car rental service but it doesn’t have the end user experience in mind. I’m telling them to suggest a different app. Because I am nice I won’t mention those other apps in this space, but they’re easily found. To evgo developers: just look at what Yelp has done with map searching and you can take a step in the right direction. Until then, I will use other apps to search for chargers.

App does not accurately reflect availability. There’s a charger at my work that has been out of service for weeks. I’ve submitted multiple tickets, had various conversations with customer service and there has been no change. I understand that there are issues that are outside of the control of the people at the call center who are trying to help. I understand that there are difficulties in repairing chargers that are due to forces beyond my comprehension. However, this charger displays as AVAILABLE in the app. It’s not available and it does not work. What I cannot understand is how it is outside of everyone’s ability to change the availability on the app for this charger, considering it is non-functional, it’s status should be reflected accurately in the app. Maybe I’m just frustrated that this service I pay a monthly fee to use is not working out the way I want. Maybe it’s a feature and not a bug.

App needs to be more stable. I love the convenience of being able to plug up and walk away while still having access to my charge status! Sometimes though the app does not let it be known when there is a station that is offline or under maintenance and I won’t know until I pull up and see that it’s not working! Or I see in the app that it’s stated that the machine is working, only for me to plug up and get error messages minutes later about a session timeout for whatever reason.. Fix this and I can rate a 5star⭐️

Good customer service despite glitches.. I’m an e-car owner who 99% charges at home. In the last 3 months I have had to find e-charge stations. Almost every time in need it took 3-4 stations before I found a working charger. Today I knew in advance where a charger was based on an app I used that morning for a charge, that one was a slow charge unfortunately. The first time we came, the slots were all full, so we got lunch… but then back I saw an opening. I tried the app I had found, but it was not locating the pump. After a quick call to the toll free number , we got re-charge for us both. I’m back on my way to DC!

Charging my Tesla. Location and availability for me is always great. Very rarely have I had to wait on a charging station. I have my account set up so all I have to do is plug in my car. Charging start same as if I were at a Tesla charging station. Charging speed do not reach as fast as that of Tesla but I’m never in a hurry when I’m charge so no worries on that front. Only negative I must put here is that Sidley is consistently ready to charge but unfortunately Keir has down for well over a month and a half. No cool. Help you organization by fixing the charger. If you need an electrician, give me a call. I would to be your repairman for this area. Despite this one setback, I give this station a 7 out of 10 for location amenities near by.

EV chargers. I enjoy charging my car when the charging stations work otherwise I’m very unhappy. It seems like a battle every time We need more chargers here in San Francisco and throughout the whole Bay area on Highway five to Los Angeles I just reported four broken chargers at 2001 Market St. in San Francisco with expose wires. I’m at Whole Foods on Rhode Island, which is one of the chargers harmony is not working for the chademo Number, C2420 please try to put them in safer areas. Most of them are behind the building. Very dark places in very high crime areas. Which isn’t safe for us women or even men since there’s a lot of robberies going on in the bay area we need places that are well lit and maybe one day you could offer gift cards like they have gas cards I’ve been asking about this for three years. They’ll be the perfect gift.

Unreliable and misinformed. Chargers are unreliable, the support staff over the phone are useless. My car wasn’t charging one time and they told me it’s because my cars voltage was too low to accept a charge so I had to get towed. That was not correct the dealership checked my car and it was fine, and put it on their own fast charger(that was very slow and I had to wait two hours to get about 30% charge). Truth was my payment wasn’t going through because my bank was blocking the charge, but somehow it was my car‘s fault? When the chargers are down (and there’s no other EVgos within 60 miles) they wouldn’t refund my subscription even though my local charger has been down for over two weeks now. Speaking of that subscription I had the top level subscription which included reserving a charger, none of the chargers within 150 miles have that feature so I don’t know why they’re advertising it either. Chargers are always in bad locations, they’re expensive, and service is terrible. Cannot recommend at all. They’re up is also terrible, and glitches frequently. There’s no ability to add Evego to Apple Pay, instead they send you a physical plastic card? That’s what’s best for the environment of course. And that of course is also more convenient because I definitely want to keep track of another stupid plastic card.

Could use a map. The app is usually much more reliable than the card, as I primarily use it when i constantly get errors when using the card. The only reasons the app didn’t get 5 stars from me is due to the fact that you sometimes cannot stop a charge remotely from the app, and there isn’t a map with all of the charging stations in the city. It would be more convenient to have a map to be able to plan ahead, rather than gambling on the app finding a charger near you. It would also remove the need for a third-party app to find charging stations when you are not very close to one.

Frustrating service. The app is easy to use the availability and price of the chargers is great. However, there are so often problems with getting the car to start charging or chargers stopping unexpectedly that it’s really difficult to park and leave the car for an hour. I also really wish EVgo wouldn’t automatically stop after one hour, if you need to increase the rate a bit after an hour that’s fine but it’s frustrating when my car hasn’t gotten to a full charge yet and I have to restart the process to get it to 100%. These might all be things beyond the company’s control, but I really hope they can get more reliable and easy to use.

Ok. The EVgo app sometimes works depending on the Wi-Fi signal or the 5G signal. And high urban areas it’s fine, but if you’re doing a trip from LA to San Francisco and have to be more rural there can be a lot of issues. When I first tried it, the phone number to call for help was terrible. However, lately when I’ve needed assistance because the machines can often be vandalized, the helpdesk people have been very helpful and manage to fix things on their end, such as billing or having me switch machines and making the payment easily done because the machine was broken, I really wish the EVgo machines were all next to a Starbucks or other eatery since you have to kill at least 30 minutes to an hour

Terrible, both the app and the service. I don’t typically write reviews for apps but holy crap was my experience terrible. I cut it close and stopped to charge. First issue was that the credit card function was down, so I had to download the app. Then during the lengthy registration process, the app froze on multiple stages requiring me to quit and restart (had to enter my credit card 3 times). Then after standing outside my car like an idiot for 10 minutes, I finally started charging, and I was able to add 3 miles of range before the charging dropped to 6kwh (basically nothing). This happened twice before I decided to go to the supercharger that was out of the way. EVGo, please cease existing and let someone else do it better.

Great charging plans and excellent customer service. I enrolled in evgo max monthly plan and it’s already saved me money . Especially since get unlimited charging sessions. The app works great and keeps you updated on charging status. I had a slight issue with charger connector not being able to be unplugged. Well I called customer service and the associate who helped me was great and helped me to fix the issue and at same time taught me a way to get connector to unplug that’s not in cars owner manual. I was very impressed and enjoyed being educated on the connector issue since I’m new to electric vehicles so now if I ever have that issue again I know what to do. Must admit I was skeptical about what associate told me to do to fix the issue but it literally worked like a charm . 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Ev Go simply doesn’t work consistently or reliably. I've tried multiple times over the years to use these stations and there's almost always some type of issue regarding some aspect of the charging transaction, ranging from it not being able to find it self on the map, the stations being down, inability to initialize the charge, etc. Ev go is synonymous with non working ev stations. So much so that they should not even be considered when one is planning on where to charge your car. The time spent trying to call customer service from the Ev go station to figure out why the station isn't working (this time) is time that would be better spent driving to a station that does work reliably and consistently....because that's what you're eventually going to have to do anyways.

Unreliable app. Unreliable chargers. Unreliable company.. People who use EV’s on a regular basis trust that the chargers they use will be available when they need them. Just like anyone who drives a gas vehicle can trust that the gas pumps will work, without having to think about it. EVgo’s app cannot be trusted to give you accurate information about the status of their chargers. On several occasions I have seen two “green” indicators on the app, meaning the charger is available and functional, only to discover that the charger is down once I’m on site. I wonder if EVgo understands how disruptive this is to their paying customers. This also underscores the problem of chargers (at least in my area) going down with upsetting regularity. EVgo will tell you if you call that chargers don’t stay down for more than a week or two. Nope. I’ve seen chargers go down for months at a time, stay on for a few days, then go down again. Something is seriously wrong with the way EVgo operates and maintains their equipment and their network. Hopefully other EV companies will come into the area and give us some meaningful alternatives so I don’t have to keep playing roulette with EVgo.

Off To A Rough Start. It was extremely difficult to get your app to work; I had to call in to customer service twice to have them manually initiate the charge. Problem was I could not sign in. App continued to not recognize my email and password even after signing up again with a new email and password. However, I was able to finally login after deleting the app and reinstalling it. Now both accounts seem to be working. I also was able to complete my first auto charge where I just plug in and confirm through the app with no tapping of cards needed. I’m glad to know it’s working now and it looks like going forward it will be a lot easier to use.

Quick plug & charge option is clutch!. I’ve been an EV owner for 3 months & have been exposed to several charging station brands. EVgo is BY FAR the easiest to use. I set up the option for me to just pull out the plug from the station & plug it into my car & it automatically recognizes my ride & starts charging! There are other brands where I need to whip out my phone to use the app to even get the plug out of the charging station (it’s so annoying & often times time consuming). Plus, EVgo has a TON of fast charging stations. I’m typically driving to areas 1-2 hours away & it always bring me joy to find an EVgo fast charging near by & next to places I can chill/eat/shop while my ride charges. I didn’t know about EVgo before I bought my EV, now I’m so glad they are available for EV drivers like me to keep it moving.

Convenient only if the charging stations are working. It’s convenient to have the fast charging station at Walgreens. But you cannot count on the charging stations are working until you get there. Some of them had been out of order without any power at all to charge the car or on the screen. The customs service is helpful when you call them to restart the station if it has power. They will offer the next closest charging station. But if you depend on finding a charging station that is working when your battery is running low, don’t depend on them for your life if they don’t work. For those charging stations without power, they can’t even restart it remotely, which requires technicians get there physically to fix then and power them up. But some stations seemed to be dead for months. Hope their charging stations are more dependable. It’s great when they work but they increase your range anxiety when they don’t work.

Iphone app a little glitchy but decent charger station coverage. App is super slow at providing available charger stations when you are in a time crunch. Id like to believe most spoils prefer sitting at charger on their phone charging their car than sitting on side of road lookong for a charging station that is convenient with their route. I wish they would add the ability to make favorite charger locations. I use the same charging station when commuting on side jobs. I primary charge at home. It's great that stations are becoming widely available when I need to charge.

Fast charging. Frustrating issues with chargers.. EVgo has some of the faster charging stations around, which is great. However, they often lack signage to indicate that non-EVs shouldn’t park in their spots and they currently do not have a policy to enforce towing when this happens. I often show up at a spot that’s supposed to be available to find some huge truck blocking the charger. Further, the Charge Point app does a much better job of giving an indication about how much your car has charged and how much more time it will need. I find the EVgo app cumbersome on this front. It also regularly takes forever to load a charging point and get the charge to start. The whole thing is unnecessarily glitchy and I wouldn’t use EVgo except that, again, they have fast chargers.

New user. This app is far better than the other 2 I downloaded. I am new to the EV car and have to say the first week or two of driving and getting used to it was not a good experience. Finding a reliable station that was working in my area was no easy task for someone who is as non tech savvy as myself. And figuring out how to maneuver through the apps and figuring out how everything comes together so that I can get the car going was a nightmare. However I’ve noticed that that this is the better of the apps I downloaded. As well as the customer service is outstanding. When I call for help. I’ll be using EVGO from now on.

Very easy to start session. I use this app a lot when taking long trips in my Bolt EV. The app immediately recognizes the charger when I stand in front of it and I need only a couple of simple screens to make my selection and “Swipe to Charge”. Very improved app in the last several years. The main things I need are accessed right from the opening screen and the other useful features in a menu tray accessed via one tap. The notification system is easy and very useful. I wish it had the ability to display car state of charge on my phone while charging and display recent charges by others at that station (for better trip planning).

Terrible update. This app worked wonderfully for the many months I’ve used it. That is, until the most recent update. What the company improved UI-wise they’ve destroyed in terms of functionality. The app takes forever to open, minutes to load the map of chargers, and more time than previously in beginning the charging process. The previous version was incredibly fast, and I never had any issues. My car already charges more slowly on evgo stations than other stations, but I’ve stayed with it. This new update makes it more likely I’ll switch to electrify America or another company. Finally, the app continually asks me to add a payment method. WHY!? My payment is the exact same and unchanging. Absolute garbage.

Awful Just Awful. Don’t Do It. You’ll regret it.. Straight up trash! The chargers never work. This company is precisely why people are either skeptical or hate EVs. Reliable and functioning chargers are an absolute necessity for being able to operate your EV, much less avoid the ‘range anxiety’. This company needs to either put up, or shut up. If gas stations were this unreliable, people would be furious. Get your act together EVgo. Fix your quality issues and stop being part of the problem. If i’ve been to an EVgo charging station ten times, then ten times there was either 50% of the chargers weren’t working, or 100% weren’t working. Even the ones that actually work will stop mid charge with an error. I just had three charging fault errors in row and said F@!&k this, i’m never coming back.

App is good but stations are unreliable. Overall happy with the app functionality. The main issues I have is the connection between the app and the stations are often times unreliable. Many times I couldn’t connect to the stations even though the app says it’s available and sometimes the app says it’s charging but soon after got disconnected because the stations giving out error message. A few minutes later I tried again and sometimes it would work and sometimes not. Also sometimes the status shown on the stations don’t always match the status on the app, which makes me think it’s more of a connection issue through the cloud network. Also not the app issue but often times the stations are down which is frustrating. Hope it gets better soon.

Do not sign up via the app. Do not waste your time trying to sign up using the app—it does not work! USE THE WEB SITE instead: it is painless, easier, and it works. The app wants your address, and then makes you enter it a second time. It says Country is required, and says you must pick your country from a list, but it never shows the list. You have to pick your car’s Year, but the choices are single a double digits from 0-64. When you finally enter your credit card, it rejects it. When you page back and forth through the form pages, it forgets what you entered before forcing you to renter the information again. I generously gave the app 2 stars because once I signed up in the web page, it worked fine to select and start charging.

The app is working as intended.. When you look for a charging station, it will give you the closest available station. But sometimes when you get there. Someone might get there before you. It happens to us all the time. That’s why everyone should get all the charging network apps or EVgo should provide more CCS charging stations. Tesla in Europe has CCS converter for Tesla use. All the non Tesla vehicle will suffer when Tesla start charging on CCS network. EVgo should provide a pop up message that if the station is occupied while we driving to it. So we won’t be frustrated and wonder if we have enough juice to make it to the next station or home.

Insane greed. The app as far as I can tell is fine I just didn’t realize the insane greed of this company. you have to have a plan with them. I went with the cheapest one, a dollar or so but then you can’t use your card unless you have at least $10 on there so in perpetuity there will always be five dollars or so that you cannot use on this card. The card is in my Apple wallet and shows I have a balance of $3.35. The charger won’t allow you to use your own money even though $3.35 would probably give me about 50 miles of range if I needed that in a pinch, that would be great. The icing on the cake however was an email I got for a late fee because they were able to charge my card. Excuse the heck out of you. Where do you get off charging a late fee to reactivate service I don’t know a single other company that does that that is an insane business practice. I have closed my account and will never use one of your chargers, unless it is an absolute emergency. i’m lucky that there’s a ChargePoint chdEmo charger by my house.

App. I think that your app works very nicely. However, when I pull it up and I am charging or it is turned on to show me how to get to your chargers and I pull up, it does not show me the charge on the screen when the screen outside shows me that I am now charging the vehicle, and I get in the vehicle to look at my iPhone, I have to tinker with it for five or 10 minutes and then it will suddenly decide to show me that it is charging with the circle. If you could improve upon this, so that it either gave me the choice of seeing that or not, it would be great.

Great, some performance issues. The app is great, in general! You can easily find EVGo (and partner) stations. You're also able to begin charging from the app by plugging in from a station and finding the station in the app's map. I also enjoy being able to see the charge data via the app while my car is charged at a station However, I wish the app didn't slow down so much once I tried adding filters on the map to find specific charging stations. For example, the app froze every time I made a change to add or remove the Level 2 chargers from my search. Overall, 4/5 experience, and I hope the bugs/performance improves as EVGo gets more customers and more income.

Too many broken chargers. App works well, but there's just too many broken chargers. Most of the time the app is updated but there's certainly occasions where I've had to move to multiple open stalls to find a working charger even though the app says they're all online. I know that applies less to the app than the company, but the app itself could be 5 stars if it had ETAs on repairing broken units and was more up to date. As for the company, why does it takes weeks to months to fix a charger? Also, busted chargers should be indicated better so car after car doesn't pull in to try it, and getting frustrated. Maybe an LED on top you can see when approaching. Red (or off) for broken (not online), green for working, and blue for in use/reserved. Or something to that affect so we don't pull into broken or reserved spots as often.

Terrible. Waisted 4 hours walking around and having a really, really, really long lunch. A flaw in the app will shut off your charge if screen is bumped when you put phone away. I checked later to see how charge was coming. Called there support line to which I was told everything was fine. -I explained I could no longer see the screen that says it’s charging and asked how to get back to it. If you can turn off charge from app and not just “at the pump” you should be able to verify it’s charging, turn it BACK ON if accidentally disconnected, heck even set limits. Say, “fill er up” or “put $10 on 5” whatever. Seriously lame. Now I have to go back tonight and sit in parking lot for 3 hours, as everything will be closed. Really disappointed, what an oversight not being able to start/confirm charge when you can apparently stop one in progress by putting phone in pocket.

Setup and first use is painful. The app has several one way processes that are confusing. You don’t think you need to set up auto charge, but it’s hard to back out when it asks you for the VIN. Later, I realize that auto charge might be the only easy way to activate a charging station. Another challenge I had was the credit card set up. My credit card was expired, but the app didn’t tell me – all I got was an error message on the charger station itself saying error. really helpful! Once I entered a proper credit card in there, I finally got my first session going. But the app doesn’t allow me to delete my old card. What?? I feel like the error messages at the station itself or on the app could have been a lot more friendly. This is banking on the fact that you must charge your EV, so you will put the effort in or you can’t drive. People who have a choice will go somewhere else or use a different app.

Worst App. I recently download the app but this app doesn't work for me. I accidentally tap at the charge bottom when I wasn't at the station. The app started to charge me the money for it when my car was not even plugin. I had to call the representative to stop the charging session, then she told me I got charge $1.50 for starting the session. The representative doesn't even helpful and can't even answer my question when I ask them how to stop the charging session on the app when I accidentally tap it. Too bad I have to delete this app and close my Evgo account. Bad experience with Evgo. Compare the customer service between Evgo to ChargePoint. ChargePoint has a better customer service and better app to handle the customer needs. I'm able to stop the charging session on the app with ChargePoint and don't have to deal with the hassle on the phone. Goodbye Evgo.

A good app for a great service. This app is pretty straightforward and easy to use once you put your payment information into it. I set up auto charge with my car so that I only have to plug in at stations and it automatically starts a session without using the app anymore and it’s never been a problem. Just had to do the one time setup and now it’s as easy as just plugging in. EVgo has a good network here in California, my only qualm is that a lot of the chargers are limited to only 50 KW max which is lower than what a lot of newer cars can take so there is some need for upgrades to these older stations but the newer ones are fantastic. A+ service and customer support as well.

Paperweight made of electrons. Haven’t used it in a while, so I updated my app uploaded a new credit card (the old one had expired) subscribed to a plan, comfirmed by my credit card alert system notifying me of the charge immediately , and… The app doesn’t find any stations anywhere in Mountain View, California. Searching for them on the map didn’t bear any fruit either. Meanwhile, I’m parked right in front of one and the map is showing my location accurately. So I call customer service so they can activate it for me and they say well we see your credit card in there but your account is still suspended because you don’t have an active credit card… What? Presumably, something is wrong in the plumbing between my recently updated credit card information and their main database. Between both mistakes the app is useless. I’m going to try to get my one month subscription fee back, and right now I’m paying an arm and a leg per kilowatt hour using my naked credit card. I’m still giving the app one star because I have used it successfully before. It’s just been a while. Right now though it’s a paperweight made of electrons.

Autocharge-Easy Peasy!. I expected to be on hold with EVGO customer service to finalize the enrollment onto the AutoCharge service that came with my 2023 Chevy Bolt. Seldom are these services as easy as the 1,2,3 they promote. THIS service is! On the EVGO app you 1-enter your VIN# and as long as you have 2-funds on your EVGO account you really DO just find a charging station, select the name of your charger on the EVGO app then 3-plug in. The charger has everything it needs to start charging. Now that I’m enrolled all I have to do is plug in at any EVGO charging station and charge up. I like it! Fingers crossed now that these stations are maintained to the same degree my enrollment was easy….

Problems fixed. App went from not useful to now only needing a few tweaks. I have not recently experienced inability to initiate charge at any station in last 4 months, an earlier problem. - it would be nice to go directly to charger instead of drilling down through menus. Slow cellular slows down the process. You can favorite a station, but not a charger - it would be nice to get charging level from app. App is already talking to station for time and connection. Why not grab the %? I can get it from car’s app, but have to use car’s 3G cellular and it has its own drill down and uptime issues. - it would be nice if app showed the running total of the fee. I now guess based on previous usage and do see the text message after charging complete. Also the text message could include balance to date. You have the data.

So very easy to use. The EV go fast charging stations are so very easy to use even whenever they’re not working all you need to do is give their support and help number a call and they are right there and they help you and you’re usually charging within a minute I have never had a problem with charging or if it there was a problem they had me charge him within a minute I love to use the EV go charging stations when I’m out and about if I need them they are usually right there to help

Customer Experience. Having to use the fast charging station for the very first time was amazing. Not knowing what to do at first was not an issue. When I call EVgo customer service, the help I was provided was excellent. Not only they helped me to set up my account active it, walked me through the app, including how to charge an electric battery at a fast charging station. they were extremely patient they listen to me and they solved my problem. It is all about the customer experience and mine was outstanding.

Happy to see has come a long way since early versions. It’s great to see the app has been improved and perfected over the years. It has been very reliable and the functionality is great including access to billing and account information. The only suggestions are to change is having the map automatically adjust zoom to show the nearest station. This means if you open the map it should show the nearest charging station even if the nearest one is a bit far. The other suggestion is showing voltage and amps in real time on the app. This is a big sore point with the whole fast charging infrastructure. Usage is charged by the minute but yet I have no indication as to how much I’m getting for my money. I understand it’s likely the vehicle electronics that choose to limit the output to the battery depending on temperature and other factors but at least let me be informed so I can determine if I will be getting my money’s worth or not.

App less reliable than the chargers. I don’t understand this company. Their app is so bad. My car wouldn’t charge- it started to charge then would stop 3 seconds later. No error messages on the app or the charger, and the car said “check charger”. I tried 8 times with no luck and drove away. I submitted a support ticket and they said it was because my credit card was expired. What?! Why wouldn’t the app just say that? I’ve also had a lot of trouble getting chargers to start from the app even when everything is fine. This company doesn’t care at all about user experience. All non-Tesla automakers should help these fools figure it out so that driving non-Tesla electric isn’t so frustrating.

Great when EVgo stations are operational!. The app is awesome at finding EVgo stations, giving charging status, pricing and enabling subscription plan sign ups. My issues have been with the charging machines themselves. Some of them don’t often connect the first time; fail after payment; fail after payment has been approved but machine won’t connect to car. Can be frustrating. If app could work more seamlessly with troubleshooting the machines and giving customer service support proactively that would be a dream!

Horrible. Honestly these charges are garbage. 80% of the charges in Los Angeles County DO NOT WORK or are out of service but will say that the charger is open, available and ready for use on the app. When charging stations go down they rarely get fixed or worked on unless they are in gentrified areas like, Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. For some reason EVgo also thought it was a good idea to put alot of these charging stations in parking lots you have to pay to enter in the first place. So not only do you need to pay to charge but you also have to pay to enter the parking lot EVgo decided to place the charge station in. In my opinion Electrify America is the superior option and EVgo is more stressful the helpful majority of the time

Awful locations. No complaint about the app as such, but the EVgo locations tend to be awful, such as not so good shopping centers, in front of Walmart, etc. Like I’m going to spend an hour shopping at Walmart while my car charges? I suspect these are subsidized by cities or the shopping centers to get you to kill what’s left of your soul and spend yet more money on yet more stuff you don’t need. Why not put them next to nice parks or cafés so I can enjoy nature, go for a run, or read for a while while my car charges? I’m surprised Subaru, of all companies, the love-themed, get-outside maker of AWD cars, partnered with EVgo. Still… good there are EV stations near Walmart. Just not useful for me personally.

The App itself has been fixed and almost perfected.. Simply plug in, open the app, wait a second or two for the app to discover charger based on location, then select plug, and finally swipe right. I truly have nothing negative to say about the app. I live in Houston, TX and for the rare times i do need a charge on my Chevrolet Bolt, it is a breeze. The only form of feedback i could give, is the price of the charge, it becomes too expensive to be charging at these for a road trip scenario. Not sure about competing chargers, but if i were to be strictly speaking on app user experience. After you set up payment, its as easy as swiping right on tinder and you begin to charge.

Charger Dead or Charger glitchy!. I had a run to the airport at 4 am. A 190 mile r/t. I planned to stop a a charger with 20 miles of battery life. That EVGo charger was broken! On to the next one,15 miles away! I arrived with 1%, 0 miles on the battery! That charger would not scan my phone app nor take a credit card! I called customer service and it didn’t go through! I’m looking across the street at 6 Tesla chargers, all available and working! Finally, the customer service representative answered and was able to reset the charger and got it working. When I asked what went wrong his response was, “It was just a glitch!” No one needs a glitch at 6 am! Thanks to the customer support, I’m not stranded in 25 degree weather!

Slow, buggy, and intentionally misleading. I am only really using them as I got a $500 credit with my bolt purchase. There is a major bug that if you do not have a payment method added and add ChargePoint to the filter it will not show any stations anywhere. EVGo denies that there is even this bug. Also if you do not have an extremely good cell connection it will not be able to find any stations or just the ones you are near. All my other apps work and have internet, but Evgo is extremely picky. When I start a charge the charge will start after a little bit, but they app will always error out after a minute or two. It will show I am charging shortly after. Lastly with the $500 credit they require you to add a payment method to use it and of course when you are buying anything they do not show what payment method they are going to use, the credit or or credit card. They are relying on you not knowing and assuming it would default to the credit first. This is not always true and never true for the monthly plans.

Terrible Customer Service. Terrible customer service. I have a Tesla Model 3, but have used Evgo once since signing up for the membership back in August of last year. I called to cancel because it was hard to find a way to cancel in the app. I asked for some credit because I haven’t been using EVgo and attempted to cancel in the past. Not only did they say no (which maybe I can understand) but they took away my existing credit of $23 that I could have used before it expired and said that it was a glitch in the system and I shouldn’t have that much. The woman I talked to wouldn’t put her supervisor on the line. This was a very disappointing interaction with the company and not a good way to do business. Very unhappy with this company and not a positive experience at all.

Meh. Signed up having never actually been to an EVGo Charging station but seeing that there were 4 in the city versus 1 Electrify America. What they don’t tell you is the cables are about 1 foot long so if your charger is not located at the front of your vehicle or rear closest to the charger (which mine was neither of those) - good luck. I had signed up for a membership to try to save and I’m basically out the membership cost unless they decide to refund it which I’ve requested. Also there’s no clear way to cancel your plan - the link does nothing when you tap on it - so I’ve requested an account deletion instead and I’ll monitor for attempted re-charges. Worst case scenario I can always dispute with my bank since their chargers aren’t compatible with my car and they don’t disclose the cabling issue.

Seattle Outlet Mall. Downloaded App. Easy set up. Very efficient. Maximum 60 min charge was more than enough to get us on our way.

Canadians cannot register. No option to finish registration, since no provinces are shown in the choices.

First timer. Intuitive. Very cool that I can walk away from the charger an monitor the charge on my phone.

Can’t register in Canada. Why do you offer a charging app on the Canadian App Store when it won’t let you register outside of the US?

Great service!. Happy with app and overall happy with the improvements. The new autocharge feature will be a game-changer. Next up - remove the 60 minute limit! Or extend it to 90 mins? It takes me about 90 mins to go from 10% to 100%. I know that’s considered “topping up” in the EV world, but getting to and staying at charging locations - particularly fast chargers - is actually fairly difficult in my city. Removing the time limit would really help and would push this from four to five stars.

Nice app but confusing on how to start charging. First time user, who eventually got it to work, but it wasn’t obvious to me that I had to select the charging station in the app and then click start because you use the “Find a Charger” which didn’t make sense for me to use since I was already there and parked. Overall, good app. Just a little funky at first for new folks. Also, your customer service folks are awesome! They helped me start it in the app.

Generally Great App. Well thought out and very intuitive usage. This is a generally great app. I have no issues with connecting to charging stations. Directions are easy to get pushed into your preferred navigation app. Also really great to see which chargers are available at each station. The ability to setup your car in just a few minutes makes sense; unlike competitors apps.

Representatives are useless. I have been having a problem with my account with EVgo and the representatives. Don’t know how to fix it. This has been the worst nightmare of my life having a car that I can’t use because every time I go to a charger my account won’t work. When I put my card up to the station, it gives me the message “card disabled”. I have told the representatives. It’s a problem with my card not the charger but they don’t listen and all they will do is reset the charger that is working perfectly fine. I have talked to several representatives, and nobody knows how to fix my problem. I have wasted 4 to 5 hours in a single day trying to get them to resolve the issue, but they never do

Best performing EV charging app. My one suggestion, particularly since you already have access to my location and home address and state of residence, is that you not default the location field when comparing the various available plans to California, implying that everyone who drives and EV lives there. That is not true. So maybe if the app developers could tie in your state of residence to populating that field, I could be convinced to switch to one of the newer plans. Autocharge was a great idea. It works well.

Great Option. The EVgo App is great, only had a few issues but customer service always takes care of things right away. Only complaint I have is the other drivers that leave their vehicles unattended and for much longer than an hour, which leaves a lot of us waiting since there is only one other available.

App works well, but where is CarPlay?. App works well. I generally don’t use EVGo unless I have to because their prices are higher than their competitors. However, I do like the user interface more than the competitors. Would be very nice if the same charging interface was displayed on my CarPlay display as I am charging so I don’t have to look back to see pricing, etc. Yes, I know I can view it in the phone app; however, having it on the CarPlay screen allows me to take a glance and use the phone for other things.

EVGo Ease. So I had rented a EV and I needed to charge it before I went back to the drop off point. Since I had a Tesla before as a rental, it was easy to find super chargers. Turns out most other EVs don’t necessarily use superchargers. So once you download the app for EVgo and enroll in the auto option, it definitely makes things much easier because you just pull up, authorize the charge, plug-in, and then just wait for your car to charge. All in all a good experience. Especially if you have a rental and no charging unit at home. Thanks for reading. Enjoy !

planning a trip using app - UPDATE. I had a problem planning a trip on the website whereby my trips suddenly disappeared, which was quite frustrating. After a few days and a number of exchanges with the support team my issue has been resolved and my saved trips have suddenly reappeared. Response from the support team was quite good as was the follow up. changing my rating from one star to 4 (should not have happened in first place…)

Excellent Charging Station. This is a excellent charging station we need more like these. Great to charge your car close to somewhere to get a cup of coffee and a bit to eat. I love that it’s partnered with Wawa. We just need more charging stations around because we are now starting to see a lot more electric vehicles on the road. Wish we could start this reserve feature I see on the app. It would be nice to know you have a spot and don’t have to wait. Overall great chargers.

Makes charging so much easier!. This app is one of my favorite charging apps! It always makes finding a charging station easy. And the charger availability is usually accurate. It is also good and letting me know which chargers are unavailable. I love that it connects me directly to maps and gives me an option of using either google maps or Apple Maps.

New indicators and layout. I like the new updates and the icon symbols. It is listing the stations that are out of service which is good. I just wish these stations were fixed as I have a photograph of one that has been out of service for 2 months now. If you want to compete with other networks, you need to be vigilant with service repairs. This is why I own a Tesla. Just don’t be like charge point which has a quick charger with spider webs. It hasn’t been fixed in 5 years!!!

Experience has deteriorated with time.. I just wasted 40 minutes trying to charge because all chargers said connector unavailable from the app when they were clearly available. Two support calls later. I was able to get a charge started by them because of the apps issues. That’s not the only thing also lately the App displays an incorrect price at the point when you click start charge, but then will charge you more. It’s just unfortunate that the software experience seems to be deteriorating rather than getting better, but don’t you worry the hardware experience has deteriorated too. Tesla’s network can’t come soon enough for the rest of us.

Love it and Frustrating sometimes. I like the app overall and find it mostly easy to use. I appreciate its features and the fact that you can start charging from the app. Unfortunately though I’ve ran into m- the app crashing, sometimes it doesn’t pull up the charging locations, sometimes it doesn’t update if chargers are in use, & more than a handful of times it won’t start charging from the app and there’s an error.

Evgo the best way to go. I often find myself between evgo and charge point. I myself love evgo so much more. Great plans, locations, customer service but the charging is faster and far superior to when I charge with charge point. I actually stop and pay for the evgo charger even though there is a free charge point a couple miles down road. If that doesn’t speak volumes I don’t know what will! Keep up the great work and I hope to see more stations.

Fast charging active. Pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I would say download the app because it’s much easier than fumbling around with your card at the machine. With the app, all your info is saved. Once you open the app, it pre-populates your recent charge locations as well as geo-locates where the nearest charger is, then you plug your vehicle up and click charge within the app…done!

No signs to Charging Ports. The Renton Landing Charger is very hard to find for the first time. It is located on the 2nd level with no directions to where it is. I was directed by my car app but it wasn’t on the entry level of the garage so I missed it the first time. So doubling back, I decided to ride to the upper levels and there it was… on the 2nd level. Should post signs at entrance. Other than that, charging speed was great. I got some early morning work done while I waited.

Almost the Best. I think this app is the best on the market, but not the best overall. I LOVE: _ ease use to charge at the station _ great UI for finding stations and charging _ great UX, I tell other EV owns to get it. WHAT I NEED for it to be best: _ setting to display preferred station type (Level 1,2,3) on map _ icon to find nearest station, per preference, to me now. _ integration with MMI or CarPlay so I can find a station nearest me while driving _ integration with Audi to tell me when/where to charge based on available stations and current charge levels _ icon on locations with food, restrooms, service

Time and patience. With a little patience u can do anything just breathe and release slowly and watch magic happen. SOMETIMES THE APP IS EFFECTED BY INTERNET INTERRUPTIONS especially if u are under ground parking or on a hill type place . Solutions for the non-Tesla, EV crowd!. I have to say, I was hesitant to rent a non-Tesla, EV before my drive up the coast of California. The thing is, though there’s so many other choices around other than Tesla. This time I went with a Polestar 2. Fortunately, I spent a little time downloading this app and familiarizing myself with it before I rented my vehicle. This app is so user-friendly and the communication between it and the charging station was effortless! I’m used to the Tesla supercharger, but I have to say the EVGO Fast Charger is faster than Tesla!! Great Job!

Terrible network stranded after they took my money. Didn’t make it home because they would not enable a charger saying my account was in active after they just took 8 out of my account wasn’t able to get a charge didn’t make it home till 4 hours later I will never use there service ever again I can’t wait till everyone is driving teslas EVGO network is trash 50/50 of the time it’s not good odds if you car to go home in a timely matter and they won’t care what time you call or the state of charge of your phone or car you making it home is not there problem they don’t seem to find problems as long as they get paid

Easy to use for Nissan Leaf. I have a Nissan Leaf and use the ChadeMo charger to fast charge and it’s reliable, never had a problem and the rates are comparable to ChargePoint and electrify America. I hope they continue to build and support ChadeMo because there are lots of Nissan Leafs around. The app is clear to use. I don’t like their new rate plans where they charge you $5 a month just to be a member; before your monthly membership would go toward charging, but now it’s just a flat charge. Boo!!

More EVgo fast charging stations. Good evening dear Sir/ Madam, first time I’m charging my EV vehicle BZ4X Toyota in New Rochelle station really I’m enjoying but I’ve a big request to if place a more EVgo fast charging in the area located 3519 Wayne Ave Bronx I’ll appreciate you highly because that which is mentioned there are two jig hospital North central hospital and Montefiore hospital. If make a station over there it’s gonna very very helpful for the people even for me . Thank you so much

Cheeks. Chargers were offline the app itself kept on freezing wouldn’t load keyboard to input my credit card, when I went through a different way to input through menu it didn’t recognize that I had a card once I did input it, then the app recognized the card in the app but the charger itself couldn’t recognize or find my card, please call customer support. You already wasted 20 minutes of my time with a bogus app why waste another hour or so trying to get a hold of you. It’s ancient history to not be able to pay a little more with just a debit card you force people to sign with an app that don’t work or chargers that don’t either

Smiling and satisfied.. Had the app already. I infrequently rent electric cars, but when I do … POLESTAR. Has very decent range in my opinion. But not all chargers are built the same. Fast = slow. Very fast = kinda fast. Super fast = fast. EVGO makes it easy for me to find the super fast ones in my area that don’t leave me sitting in the car for an hour waiting for the car to charge. And their app is SO USER FRIENDLY. And they name the machines and it was a seamless transition from app to machine to machine. Get it? EVGO rocks.

Great and we need more chargers!. I do find that EVGO is often the closest charger in town. And I like that there are discounts for using the app and setting up a monthly membership. The app usually works great. Sometimes there is a problem with the charging station interface, but usually the app will still get me going! I do wish there was more monitoring of chargers that are down, seems rare when all chargers at a station are all in order. Also hope to see more stations open up in the Berkeley area, we need more!

I’m happy with EV-GO. I overhear other drivers complaining about the speed chargers always being broke. I disagree with them and feel like EV-GO has done well to make repairs within a week. Considering how many charging stations they own and I can only imagine the lack of trained and qualified electricians and repairmen, the response is timely enough. With great customer service and with the EV technology still in its infancy, I will support and use EV-GO as my main EV charger.

Easy & Reliable. I’ve been using EVGo for the past two years and the app makes it easy to find locations with available chargers and track the progress of your charge while you wait. The number of charging stations is always growing, so EVGo has honestly been our #1 choice for fast, reliable charging. Between your account card and the app, EVGo stations won’t fail you.

Great but need improvements. I like the app but there’s things that need to be fixed. When searching for chargers it needs to be able to find chargers in longer distances instead of saying no chargers found. Not happy that there isn’t enough chargers either, always having to wait to charge. App needs to show how much I’m being charged as the timer goes. There’s time I’m only looking to spend so much. The price increase is also not justified for the few chargers in my location the Bay Area.

EVgo isn’t perfect but it’s reliable. Still 5 stars for reliability but watch out as some of their machines are labeled as 150kW but max out at 50, and it matters because most of EVGo’s DCFCs are by the minute. Naturally, the true fast chargers make you spend less time and money; so make sure you look at the little sticker on the actual charge piece to see if it’s truly fast or just a 50kW one and just barely a fast charge but more expensive because it’ll take you longer on it

Little Tokyo EVgo. It was my first time charging an electric car, and I had a hard time initially with the process because of it being a rental and because of the fact that the system has a nonfunctional credit card pad… (hope it hasn’t been rigged with a skimmer for fraudulent usage). But I called customer service and they manually got everything working virtually. An an hour later was on my way. Overall 4 stars because of the extra time spent because of the broken credit card pad.

Very easy to use. I’m not so savvy with new things and this was my first time using the fast charger. Well it was very easy but unfortunately there were no picture instructions on the machine , lol. But I figured it out quickly. EVGO card made payment simple. It is off to the back of the shopping center so that’s a little unnerving but I just locked the doors. Now I wish we had more EVGO charging stations on long island and south jersey.

Can’t login. App has problems.. Similar to other recent reviews, the current app (October 2022) has serious problems. The app did not allow me to login without contacting customer service, even though I could login perfectly fine on their website. The app did not recognize that my wife was a member under my account, even though it does on the website. I had to contact customer service to fix that also. The EVgo customer support people were very nice and helpful but it was clear from our conversations this is not an isolated problem and the fix has to be done on their end. I hope EVgo prioritizes fixing these problems.

Doesn’t change. Why do you need to download the app in the first place?! Can I just pull my car up use the charging station and pay for what I used! In any case it too a long time to set up, of course they want all your info and to push notifications to your phone. After spending the time to set it up, it didn’t even work! Would charge for 19 seconds then give me an error message and stop. This happened multiple times so I took it to another the next station over. Happened again. For get it, I’ll use Electrify America any day over this garbage. Lots of work to do to make this better like ensuring that the charging stations are going to work.

EVgo. The helper on the phone was very good. I went to a charging station that was available. A young woman helped me put in my Vin number and get the charge card set up. Nevertheless, I feel that it was probably very well done. She had no trouble. I am old and slow. I feel good about having set up the account, but I would like to add another card. Maybe I can do that sometime.

App works well, but the fast chargers don’t. I will the app is more in sync with the chargers. The app doesn’t detect faults on the chargers and most of the time I have to call in and because the representatives are mostly from the Philippines they can only respond from the list in front of them. Very frustrating! 99% of the time, the charger just needs rebooting, but I would spend 20 minutes waiting to speak to someone and another 20 minutes to go through the verification process and in the end the charger just needs rebooting. Simple and quick but seems complex when I call in.

Good but... Everything is good but 1. my session charging timed out in the app and I got an error message even though the charging session started successfully; I had to exit to the main menu to see a status at the bottom left corner that my charging session did in fact start successfully despite the multiple messages that I got complaining about a session timeout, and could not successfully charge. also in order to update the status of a specific charger I had to exit the app and reopen it. It would be great if there was a manual, refresh button if the developers and the systems engineers are trying to conserve battery power of my smart phone—- or alternatively, it would be good if you could just refresh the app every 2-3 seconds, so I can get an accurate status of an individual charger. Other than that it’s great, which is why I give it four stars.

Sign up is too long. You’re at your local grocery and spot a place to charge up The screen doesn’t work so you install their app. Expected experience: “Sign in/up with (provider)” “Type in charger #/etc” “Pay with (built-in service)” —> Charging starts Actual experience: Create a unique login with a complex password to remember (ugh) Tell us your vin (or model) Tell us your billing address Manually type in a credit card number Prompt for notifications Prompt for location What’s your mothers maiden name? What’s your favorite kind of ice cream? How many pickles are in a standard size jar? —> Charging starts Obviously I’m joking a little here but the sign up process is a barrier that’s 2-3x longer than it should be. I really want 2-3 steps absolute maximum. This is a small change you could make that would impact every single one of your new customers. I nearly gave up halfway through and just went without charging. Please consider improving this.

My Only Issue…. …isn’t really App related but more so company and/or charging location related. Too often, I pull in to a charging location, and one or more of the chargers is unavailable because it’s out of service (I’ve even been the one who calls the cust service # because I can’t get the charger to work and find out that it’s actually out of service but the screen on it isn’t reflecting this)… The App is GREAT… I hope the charging locations eventually equal the App….

Renters Do not try. I wish I could give this thing 0 stars. They’ve essentially made charging a huge pain. I rented an EV and thought it would be a good use of my time to charge while I shopped in Scottsdale. But unfortunately this company makes you download there app, then sign up, then register the vin (which didn’t work for my car). then the auto charge feature, which is supposed to be for rental cars to charge more easily, didn’t even work!! Literally do not waste your time if you have rented an EV for you trip go someone here else where you will not have to struggle to pay for charging. Next time, just offer a two to pay with debit/credit on the station — it’ll save everyone a load of time.

Bad business model. There should be no need for this app. The station that I went to yesterday required this app in order to charge my car. Why can’t I use a credit card at the charging station? The station said that I could, but it didn’t actually have a place for scanning/inserting credit cards. It only had a scanner for their own special activation card that they send you. It took 15 minutes just to set everything up on the app between adding vehicle details, payment info, and all of my personal data. Can’t even use Appleid or anything. It’s all so tedious and more importantly- unnecessary. I hate this company for their decisions.

Very unreliable. Unreliable app, super difficult to use when half the options don’t load half the time or more! Then if you are lucky enough to start a charge session, you might get an error and be out the $.99 on top of their high energy costs. If you try to report an issue through the app, it will fail! Then you have to call whatever poor soul is stuck on an island answering phone calls of angry customers. I feel for the staff but this app and company are trash. Free bug fix for your (very likely) outsourced developers of the app: fix your app’s account password regex to match your website’s password regex! Unbelievable.

Easy to figure out. Load the app was easy and using the map station with the right kilowatt was easy to find. I liked being able to see the person in front of me is percent done to be able to estimate if it was worth waiting at the spot or looking for another one really appreciate the helpful tips and the process of plugging in for the very first time in my new Rivian was super easy. Thank you.

Chehalis Charging Station. The app works well enough, but you have to open the app before connecting the vehicle. It cause quite a problem trying to connect and then open the app for charging at their station. The Chehalis Station has had a father out of service for several months now. Not been a problem until today when the station was almost full and someone was using the wrong side of the working charger that should have been open for two.

Weird issues. The app has… issues. I can see the map of chargers, filter for fast ones (don’t actually get fast charging from them, but that’s not the app’s problem). In CarPlay you can’t touch the locations to start navigation, there’s no intuitive way to start a charging station from the app as the screen at the stations instruct (I found it once, failed the second time so just swiped a card), and you can’t actually change the notification preferences in the app, you can touch the buttons, but they change right back. Yes I have the latest version of the app, yes I have the latest version of iOS, yes I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

zero stars — still lame, after all these years. The user interface still requires heavy lifting to come up to speed with the competition. If the sector of the map that one has chosen contains no chargers, an irritating pop-up window apparently designed by halfwits appears. It’s easy enough to see that there are no available chargers in the sector of the map one is looking at (except of course the parts of the map obscured by the halfwit window). I have never seen anything this lame in any other electric vehicle charging finder app. Thumbs down. They say they have “700” fast charging stations. Their app I can only show you 49 of them on the planet earth, but you will really have to wade through a lot of halfwit pop-ups.

easy but not always reliable. I love the EVgo chargers when they are functional, but yesterday on a long trip I pulled into a station in San Jose that I have used for several years, and they were not working. Why does this happen? This can be disastrous if the car’s charge is super low and there is no other station nearby By the way, having to create. nickname that hasn’t been taken is super frustrating and greatly discourages reviews

Turn off points of interest. Shows points of interest. Could care less. Want to see charging stations. Cannot find a place in app to turn off points of interest. I am signed in do a search for ev station shows California. Not in California. Having same as above. Updated several times. Charging stations becoming unreliable. Pay a monthly fee whether I use or not. Should have a charging station that works. Have my account terminated. No longer can use this app. Required by EVgo to use ccs1. My Tesla Model S has yet to get adapter from Tesla. Been on a 1500 mile road trip and not one EVgo charging station. Not paying for a service that does not provide what I pay for.

Good not great. I appreciate the tap to go charging feature I also like how the app is consistently making improvements. I dislike that I have put in several maintenance requests for a pump that’s been out of service since June .. it’s now December. I’ve called, tweeted sent multiple requests through the app. feels like that aspect of the app could be handled better. Possibly having someone call to follow up to see if anything’s been done to resolve the issue?

Almost useless. Needed a way to charge a rental and this was the only option in the geography. Loading the app was an exercise. Signed up for an account which then was repeatedly ‘no email or wrong password’. When I could login successfully, it would fault and close repeating the login issues over again. After 30 minutes in 30 deg weather I then need to search for the charging station that I’m parked in front of. Start the search and results are limited to the LA/Santa Monica area 2800 miles away, really helpful. Fortunately, customer service via phone is quick and responsive. The only value the app has is for creating an account remotely. A phone call is faster.
