Can’t allow access to camera on iPad Pro. When you launch the app it tells you that you need to allow the camera for the app. When you hit the button to go to settings, it takes you to General Settings. There is no separate listing for the IKEA Place app, and it is not listed for camera permissions under Security on the iPad Pro.

Very few sets to choose from. Seems like a nice tool but they are missing most of the furniture they offer in store. So it makes this apps kinda useless. It would also be useful to be able to search for a product line by name instead of having to look through pictures of everything.

Just downloaded app. After reading a bunch of bad reviews I downloaded the app thinking it will not work for me either. To my surprise it worked very well, so thank you developers for making it so user-friendly.

Only works intermittently and has very small selection of furniture. This is a very cool app, when it works. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it only works for certain items on my LIDAR equipped iPad Pro. This inconsistency makes it a frustrating experience and the lack of feedback for errors makes for a poor user experience. Based on the developer responses to other reviews, this is a known issue for at least a year. Are you simply not going to fix this critical bug? To boot, the selection of furniture is very small. We were not able to find any of the furniture items we’re interested in. Also, the browse UI is a real drag. Having to scroll through multiple sections hoping you’ll find what you want just worsens the UX. Hey product managers making these terrible interface decisions, search is a thing and it’s not that hard to implement. Between the small selection and the flakiness, this app is ultimately useless for us.

The IKEA Experience. What an awesome app!!! Well done on time consuming for individuals that are always busy. Just a little bit of practice and I will be able to furnish an apartment.

Poor App. Installed today, only showed one item in it and not even work on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 16.0.1, IKEA really need to replace their hole software team, they even not tested on recent iPhone models, AR technology is so popular today, but they still can not finger it out, totally waste of time and large salaries payment, fire them!

UI Broken, cannot agree to terms and conditions and so cannot start the app. On my iphone 8 the terms and conditions agreement screen has a bunch of visual things overlaid on top of each other. The end result is when I try to hit the radio button to agree to the privacy policy it does not register! My phone screen is perfectly fine, it is 100% the software. It's awful because I used a previous version of the app a year ago and it was great! I just want to use it again. I will gladly update this review if/when the issue is fixed.

No Item Name Search. I get that the idea of this app is for people to discover and browse. However I find the browsing slow compared to the web so what I *want* to do is, after finding an interesting item, search for it by name and look at it in AR. The fact that you can’t do this is laughable.

Brilliant. This app is wonderful! It is helpful to plan out what you want, wherever you want! If your looking to know how to decorate it without having to spend money first, this is the app for you!

Unusable & useless. Notice most of the 5 star reviews are complaints. 1. There is no search 2. For items like kallax there is no rotation option so you can’t actually visualize furniture in the desired configuration/orientation 3. They feature collection highlights but there is no way (I clicked every single option) to view all products in a collection 4. Again, impossibly: NO SEARCH!!! Update: thanks for the useless, canned response that’s copy/pasted on everyone’s review. We know there are collections, but the point is: that’s not a useful ui to normal human people.

This is Exactly what I Wanted!!. Wow! Look and ye shall receive! I am so excited to be able to visualize IKEA products in my own space. Now I just need the accessories. I was hoping to visualize mirrors on the walls and possibly lighting on the ceiling. The mirrors are flat and could be represented as grey so they shouldn’t be too difficult to add to the library? Please keep adding things! This is wonderful!!!

Not worth it. I expected to find an almost complete catalog of ikea furniture to play with, especially the staples such as Pax, but sadly no. There are very few “collections” to choose from, so if you are trying to determine if you like specific pieces in your space and they aren’t in this abbreviated catalog, the app is useless. I’m deleting it within five minutes of installing it.

Ikea please!. Im having trouble finding ar models in your regular ikea app! This is useless for measuring and trying ikea furniture in your space because of the lack of search. Ive seen your responses to the other reviews saying this app is meant to discover new furniture but…. That is really dumb! I know what I want but want to see it in my space. Right now im hunting through the “for you” page to find a lamp and its very frustrating. Wasn’t there a search feature in the past?

AR is awesome and this app makes it more Awesome. THIS IS JUST PHENOMENAL GOOD JOB This is so fun even though its not a game and does not have to be Its really useful for those really want to design home And The furnitures are perfectly scale to scale and well designed good job man just stunning.

Wiggly. When I downloaded the app I thought it was going to be awesome, but when I went on after accepting the privacy policy it started glitching,badly glitching. Everything got shaky and wouldn’t stop. When I finally got to the camera I exited out and everything got shaky again. I really hope you fix this, because this app has great potential. It’s just too big of a glitch, I’ll download it again when you fix it.

App Does Not Contain All Inventory. I’m trying to preview shelves for my plants but the app only allows you to preview certain collections. You can’t text search for the item you want. You can only scroll through a select set of collections or categories. App does not contain these collections from what I can tell: Tordh, Kolbjörn, Läckö, or Hyllis. Because of this, the app is pretty much useless to me unless I wanted something they were already showing.

Cool concept but doesn’t work on iPad Pro 9.7. When I launch the app for the first time on an iPad Pro 9.7” I am presented with the privacy policy. I love how detailed the privacy policy is, but it extends off the screen and I am not able to accept the policy to proceed past this stage. I am stuck.

Works good, needs more though. Works great honestly, used it to plan out some new furniture once we moved and being able to place multiple pieces is great. Really do wish they were more frequent about the furniture that they add to this app, because it’s missing quite a bit. Also do hope they get to better integrating this into the ikea website (i.e. signing in let’s you view furniture you’ve added onto your wishlist instead of searching one by one to find them)

Needs A LOT of help. - Half of the inventory isn’t present in the app. Take for instance a very popular IKEA item “LACK wall shelf”. Type it in, search, no results found. Unreal. - Completely unnecessary animations that confuse the user. Further, “X” icons mean close, why are they using it as “go” on some areas of the app? Again, confusing the user. - A search feature which, and this is unbelievable, doesn’t include search by article/model number. That’s just lazy. So I can bring up the item on the Internet, but I can’t input into the number and find it with the search feature on the app? This app needs a lot of help.

Unbelievably useless app. Wow I don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. One there’s not even a basic thing as a search bar or a search function in the app. All I wanted was to be able to look up an ikea item and then using the AR feature, be able to see how it would look in my room. Secondly if you try to do that, the app keeps crashing. Garbage app. Deleted it.

No Search Option?. I wanted to see how an Alex drawer would look in my room, but I can’t search for it. This is such an obvious feature that’s just absent in the app. It’s actually pretty surprising this app got released without search. It’s not really useful or convenient to me without that ability. The UI is quite nice, but the app is honestly barebones with its feature set. I can’t even sign in with my web account to transfer my shopping cart or wishlist items. Also don’t have the camera constantly running in the background while browsing the app. That’s just bad for performance and battery, and it shows in the app’s stuttering scrolling performance, even on an iPhone 11.

Incredible concept, very limited. The app is beautifully designed, intuitive UI, functions flawlessly. All props to the devs! Three stars only because of the incredibly sparse selection of items - probably fewer than 50-75(?) items total, yet IKEA carries literally thousands of options. If the database gets updated with a search function and a much larger catalog, this will be the best app in the store for AR decor. It’s really a great app, just not very useful bc of the limited catalog. Will keep installed to check for updates.

Awesome app, missing a lot of furniture. This app is fantastic, my boyfriend and I are moving into an apartment and we’ve used this app to figure out our new apartment. We were able to get everything and then some. However, many furniture items are missing. Though I’m certain as new furniture comes out, the app will be updated accordingly.

Shelves?. I love this app! It’s very cool to be able to “see” products in your home before actually buying them. My only problem is with shelves: I can’t add Kallax or Lack shelves to a wall. Is that something that the app still doesn’t do or am I doing something wrong?

Profile issues. It does not appear the app has a way to save my profile or the work I put into placing that furniture around the room. I used once a year ago hoping that someone can give me a hint about what is going on.

Wouldn’t even let me go into the app. I’m giving this is a one star bc it wouldn’t even let me go into the app. I would open the app and then it would say something like “reloading a few things” and it had this yellow loading circle thing. After 10 mins thinking it would finally load and let me into the app, I was wrong. Tried more for a couple days and it didn’t work still. Don’t recommend..

Incredibly slow on a new iPhone 14 Pro. Developers. Ive used this app years ago in 2017 or 2016. It was much better with my older phone. It took forever to load on my new iPhone 14 Pro. Which has a much more powerful CPU , GPU and more RAM. Not to mention a LiDAR too. Like watching paint dry getting to 99% when you start the app. Took several tries. Program Manager for iOS dev in Ikea should take note that this needs more QA.

Very limited selection. UI is glitchy and freezes frequently. Very limited selection from the IKEA catalog, and no organization of variants — ie you can’t compare finishes of the same item, there’s no relationship between items defined. Unforgivable: no search function, and no collections. You just have to browse every category hoping to find the item you’re interested in. This app could be SO helpful and useful and instead it’s very disappointing.

Cool idea. Too little inventory.. It’s a pretty cool and impressive trick they have going on here as long as you need one of the very few items that they have to place in your room. Every time I thought about using this app I go in just to find out they don’t have anything that I’m actually looking for so I end up having to go to the real store or just buying something on Wayfare.

I guess just go to the website. The app refuses to let me look at products if I don’t allow camera access. Also has a very annoying and tedious intro that restarts every time you click into the app. All I wanted was to browse for pillows but it’s not possible if I don’t allow camera access (a tool that I wouldn’t use anyways since I’m only looking for pillows).

Upload a photo. I wish I could upload a photo to use instead of scanning my room. I don’t live close to an IKEA and I found a different piece I like better than what I came to purchase, but now I can’t see it in my room before heading back home.

Better than I could ever imagine. The issue I had before has been fixed. I am obsessed with this app. Highly recommend it!

Great app. This app is amazingly good putting down furniture without having to pay for anything is great and it gives details about the furniture.

Doesn’t seem to work. I downloaded this app today. It has an extremely simple interface. When trying to place objects in my room, I was presented with a bounding box for the floor, and several hollow circles when I tried to place objects. Beyond that, nothing! Are their hidden buttons/clicks/gestures I have to use to get the furniture to appear? If so, the app fails to explain how to get the furniture to show up in place of all the hollow circles. Or, the app is broken/buggy. Either way, it’s a total fail for me.

Not intuitive. With a new apartment and no furnishings I’d really like to use this app. But it’s not very intuitive. There are no instructions for how to use it and the ways to manipulate objects in the AR camera are not clear. A one finger drag re-sizes, despite the fact that users are conditioned to re-size using pinch and zoom gestures. Using two fingers rotates items, which also doesn’t make sense. Overall objects are too hard to control and appear more like illustrations than real objects. I love the idea and the attempt but I’m not ready to spend any more time with it.

Great concept, needs work. This is a great concept, and when it works it is a dead useful way to plan out how you will use space in a room. However, it seems to work only intermittently even on a brand new iPhone 12 Pro with Lidar capabilities. About half the items you pick for the AR experience will show the placement indicator on the floor but as soon as you select where you want to put the furniture, nothing happens. At least half the items I selected to see in the AR view wouldn’t appear. When an item does appear, the app works fine and you can manipulate the piece of furniture to see how it will fill the space. Just needs some work/stability improvements to get a higher rating.

No search makes it feel kind of pointless. Unless you’re looking for an item from their featured collection you’re pretty much out of luck. I’m not trying to get inspiration (plenty of other options for that), I’m trying to place specific ikea products in my home to get an idea of whether or not I like it. Not sure I understand the high ratings on this one

Black screen. I’m not sure if it’s because the app isn’t optimized for iOS 14 yet or if this version is just buggy but every time I open the app and go the screen where my camera is supposed to appear there is a black screen. I can’t use the app because nothing shows up on the screen. Disappointing because I really love IKEA and was looking forward to using this app

Crashes ALOT. Just downloaded the app last night and tried to rest more objects but app crashes. Please fix ASAP! This is the only app that can do AR for setting up a room, great concept and features but definitely needs fixing. Would like to able to get some ideas since I love the store! Edit: looking forward to a better update from the developers on what the app will be able to offer because this is a great tool to see the product before purchasing.

Too many glitches. When this first came out it was pretty good. Now when I try to show people the AR it's just embarrassing. Everything floats in mid-air and I can't place anything on the floor where it should be. Floating chairs and couches aren't helpful at all in trying to visualize how things would look.

Technical difficulties. This app is great however I’m experiencing a technical difficulty. I’ve used the app before and it worked fine, and showed me the furniture options. Now its not doing that and instead I’m pressing buttons to have no response.

Shouldn’t be released for iPad mini. Maybe it works well on other Apple devices but on my iPad mini the objects are too big or too small and you can’t rotate them so it’s not really useful to me. Would be cool if they allowed you to measure your room and select the floorplan and then you could put items on it from multiple angles and see what they would look like once you return to AR mode. And, yes, I’ve rescanned my bare, well lit room a few times.

Can’t choose just any product to view in AR. I can’t choose any item from the store. I can only choose from a collection or a few different categories they’ve listed. They don’t have lamps/lighting available to use in AR. I went to Ikea yesterday looking for a lamp. They didn’t have it in stock. I figured I’d go home and order it online but just to be sure I like how it looks in my room I Downloaded This app to see how it would look and I can’t find lamps anywhere on the app. Why create AR to only use on a few products. Target does a better job.

Useless without search. Seems kind of useless if you can’t search for items to place in the AR view. This app has been out for a couple of years and it seems like IKEA really hasn’t taken it seriously. Too bad.

Pretty good but the mirror?. Had fun placing furniture like side tables etc. but went to put a mirror on the wall and it was in the wrong orientation, like it was flat, not hanging. And I couldn’t change it 😔

Objects come out wrong size. The app does not re-scan the area every time before placing the object on the matrix. This is a very obnoxious problem as the app works well otherwise but there is no way for the user to fix the problem without deleting and re downloading the app again. This issue needs to be fixed for the iPad and other iOS devices as this issue renders the app unusable

Needs updating. I really like the app but it needs updating. A lot of things are missing and styles they have retired are still options. I clicked on a collection but no items appeared. I think this is a great concept especially for those of us who don’t have a store close and need to really picture items in the room before driving hours to pick up items

Let down by omission of search and absence of products. Seems silly to omit a search for products feature. Manually trying to find products is annoying, particularly when they’re not there like IDÅSEN

Furniture Sizes Wrong. Hi, The IKEA Place app is really great and user friendly. Although sometimes the app will place the furniture really big or really small and not actually the proper size of the furniture. Otherwise great app that has a friendly User Interface

Not available in Australia. Not happy that I had to download, set it up and then try to use it before I found out that it’s not available in my country. Should have warned me at the beginning 🤬. Also while the design looks enticing, the user experience isn’t great. There is no error recovery or ability to back out of actions. Setting up the camera is a poor experience if you say no.

App crashing on iPhone 7. Tried to contact IKEA directly to report this issue instead of leaving a bad review, but nothing on the website to facilitate this. This app has always barely worked and if it did it made my phone hotter than the sun in the process. Now it just crashes constantly after getting to the furniture selection screen. This is a handy app when it works, please fix!

Frustrating!. Really wanted to like this app but it’s way too minimalist in terms of controls. Counter-intuitive to the pinch-zoom etc of normal iPhone. Great potential but make it easier to spin, size and lock a piece in place.

App crashing at launch. I am not able to even open the app to see what it does, since it crashes as soon as it launches with error “seems like your device is too old to place virtual furniture”. I have ipad air. Can this app on my Ipad?

Doesn’t work. Limited items. Browsed many items, only 1 would appear as a VR object. Useless for trying to get a sense of how furniture will fit in your home space.

Really want it to get fixed - can’t load. I know how amazing this app can be but sadly I haven’t ever been able to get past the loading menu! I’ve got an iPhone X have updated the app to latest software, updated my iOS to 13.2.2, restarted my phone and redownloaded the app but sadly it never gets past the load page or simply crashes. I hope you can fix it but for now sadly it’s just unusable

Disappointed as lack of search functionality and office chairs. Was looking forward to seeing how the different coloured office chairs would work in my room. No ability to search by product and couldn’t find office chairs (only desks). Reading the reviews alerted me to the app limitations after searching all through the app

Good start, but lacks important features. I can’t search for items by type. I can’t go to an item from within a Room Set, and there’s no online store integration. Frequently, items won’t appear when placed which necessitates restarting the app. IKEA Place is a brilliant idea and extremely useful, but it’s undermined by bugs and absent features.

No Bedroom 😞. I downloaded this app as I’m wanting to redesign my bedroom with a new bed and walk-in robe for my squishy apartment. Alas no bedroom furniture in here 😔

App now crashes. App now prompts you update then immediately crashes upon opening. Not a great experience

Doesn’t work. Just showed a heap of black space and glitches, doesn’t actually work, or maybe an issue with iOS 14.

where did all these 5 stars review coming from?. the app runs, but it cannot detect the different dimensions of the wall and the floor. If you try to place the furniture on the floor, the camera just so zoom-in, everything just so close to you, and if wanna zoom out,the furniture will be on the wall………

Catalogue still too limited. Soo much for the “we’re adding hundreds of products to make it more useful” comment from 1 year ago. Still, very limited product catalogue available. Would have expected most of the main products in each category by now….

It’s clever but has a very limited catalogue. I installed this app hoping to see how the Kallax storage shelves would fit in my house but alas the Kallax shelves are not listed in the app. I’d have thought this app would actually have included the full range of Ilea items but alas no. The catalogue in the app is very limited. I did experiment with placing a few of the items that are in the app’s catalogue and found the placement to be tricky to actually align. Also objects you place can easily overlap and obscure each other which is just weird. So yes it’s a cute use of AR but not actually very useful.

Waste of time. Didn’t have the item I needed on the app even though this set of drawers has been sold at ikea for years. Waste of time and not worth it.

Please bring up to date catalog!. Tried looking up something I want to get from online, but it isn't on the app. It would also be nice to be able to save items maybe to an account?

Won’t stop scanning. Frustrating!. How do I stop it scanning, and get to the furniture selections and placement? I just get a full screen video image with a wavy phone icon which keeps on showing yellow dots. No way to end the scanning and get to the next step. Even if i quit the app, delete it and re-download. Aaaargh? Frustrating!

Don’t bother.. Great idea, okay execution and tutorial but the catalogue of items to ‘place’ is so limited as to make the entire app useless. If you want to know what that queen sized bed frame looks like, use your imagination and a tape measure instead, you won’t find it on this app.

Swedish Perfection. Ikea has outdone themselves. Normally had to drive five hours to see it and then go back to check it fitted in my house. Now I can place it were I want and see there and then

Simple lens. I enjoy applying lens with my school or shop a few furniture.!!.

Won’t work. “Loading of Product All Data return error response 0: EMPTY CALL” is what I see most when trying to use AR. Too frustrating to continue trying. (iPhone 7 with iOS 13.1.2)

Kinda cool, needs development. Easy to quickly get a basic idea. Positioning needs improvement. Would be good to be able to save views as snapshots for later reference.

Great app. We’re currently renovating and this app is great. Instead of pen and paper we can get an actual preview of what our house will look like with furniture. We are living in the future! This app would get 5 stars if the catalogue was more extensive, and browsing UI was improved. There aren’t enough items, and not enough sorting options for available items (and some categories encompass too many types of furniture, eg tables doesn’t have many dining tables, but has HEAPS of side/display tables), for a pleasant UX. Despite these flaws, this is a fantastic beta/1.0 app, and I look forward to continuing improvements in the future. Final note, this app works on a range of hardware, but older handsets like the 6S without dedicated AR sensors will suffer from drift (virtual objects will move over time due to insufficient tracking). This can only be fixed by using newer phones with necessary sensors.

Awesome but a tad limited. This is a great concept and was executed perfectly. I just think there are limited products which is understandable since this app released not too long ago. To my knowledge you’re working on this and improving keep up the good work.

Does not actually place objects. Continues to scan and never can actually place an object. Terrible UX

Needs more. Can’t search for anything, design is very unintuitive. No beds available. Really should just release the app when it is ready, not when it is half finished.

Useless. No instructions on how to use it. No way of taking a picture. It does not do anything that it says it’s going to do. Don’t waste your time with it.

Great. It’s amazing how far technology has come these days. It is an amazing app and fills all my needs.

Super well made. Takes advantage of Apple's ARkit very well. The models are super detailed with lots of different furnitures to choose from.

App Crashing on Launch. The app worked fine, in previous versions of the app but now with this new version it just gives up. I don’t what’s wrong with app, I hope that it gets fixed soon.

Configuration crash. Can’t open it

Good idea not developed yet. I started so excited taking the measurements of the area with the app. However, when the time to search for the piece of furniture came I realised how bad the app was. The idea is great but the searching engine hasn’t been developed yet. There are no results to anything you type so you must find the product manually which takes ages if you luckily get to find it. I’m looking forward for the app to be improved.

Was working great, now crashing on opening. I’ve quite enjoyed this app but I can’t get it to open anymore, crashes on opening the app :(

Camera unfocused, limited furniture and clunky interface. This is a great idea. For some reason they haven’t bothered finishing it! The cute little messenger-style intro is about all this app has going for it. What could be more frustrating than an opportunity to see something in your house before bringing it home, and that item isn’t available to view?? Sure, the IKEA catalog is massive - why not add the option to download only the actual furniture you want to see? Problem solved. Meanwhile, the camera has been sitting out of focus the whole time I’ve tried using the app, and when you are asked to point the phone at the floor that’s all you get - no guide lines, no feedback that you are doing the right thing except for some vague little dots which seem to represent that something is in front of the camera. Come on guys, back to work on this one. Why release a half finished product? It just annoys your customers.

Good but developing. Great idea and helped to place a new entertainment unit which was fantastic to see the scale in the room. Couldn’t find any rugs to place and really wanted to try and see what it would look like before committing to buy. Look forward to more updates with more variety. Will be happy to review again!

Worst AR. Won’t scan my room correctly and all furniture placed touches ceiling. Please QA better

Great proof of concept. I can’t wait to see the improvements coming to this app. Placement worked great however scale was a little off. Tracking of the furniture wasn’t quite right. As I moved around the room, the placement started to slide a little and lamps started to float. Being able to walk around the room, inspect furniture from all angles (including climbing under a dining table!!!) is great. This app is sure to become a staple for ikea shoppers.

Doesnt load. App doesnt even open to load.

App doesn't load any furniture and crashes.. App cant load anything but the malm dresser, which crashes the app when pressed.

Doesnt work properly. Glitchy. The app is so glitchy on iPadOS 14. Does not work on my iPad Pro 2020.

Marvelous app!. This app is amazing! From the introduction screen to the sound effects, the app is superb. It works perfectly and runs smoothly. It’s an amazing idea and is a great way to test out furniture without having to buy it. This has been a huge help with renovating bedrooms and such, and I will continue to use the app and recommend it to friends!

Kicks me out. Just downloaded. Repeatedly kicks me out before I can do anything. Once it let me place a chair and as soon as I did, the app disappeared and was closed. It didn’t give me choice of what type of furniture to select. Just asked what type of (single) chair I wanted to place, and only had 5 chairs to choose from.

It didn’t work.... I m really excited to use this app,but after selected the furniture and click it,nothing shows up!??? Is it not working for iPhone iOS 14.2 users?? Plz fix and I ll be happy to give a 5stars😐!!

Unusable with iOS and iPadOS 14. Unusable. Image of room on screen is corrupt making the app useless. IKEA have had weeks to update this app for the latest version of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Disappointing.

Amazing. Awesome app

You need to add this feature. I don’t get why you wouldn’t have the option to decorate a picture of a space you’ve already taken on your phone and then buy the furniture. I have pictures of spaces that I don’t always have access too (like when buying or selling a home) that I could try many different looks and ideas out and work on it from anywhere if I could use the picture rather than have to be live.

Keeps crashing. Keeps crashing when attempting to browse into collections or room sets. Unusable!

Where is the text search?. Really painful to use without it. Spent a few hours wandering the store to pick out items, now just want to try them at home in AR but dont feel like scrolling through the catalog.

Kinda pointless without a search function. It’s insane to me that this app was released with no search function. If I wanted to browse a curated list of furniture I could look at the catalogue... The selection of products is also super limited.

Waste of time. All i wanted was a shelf no search bar so you’re forced to browse through the whole app just to be left with nothing but a waste of time. Thank you!

Eh. Very little instruction given on how to even use the app and it didn’t even work the first time I downloaded it. I had to delete and reinstall, seems to be working now. It’s a good app to see if things will work with your space.

Needs Search Feature. It works well in the sense that you can view what furniture would look like in your place, but only a limited amount of furniture. After finding a product I like in the Ikea catalogue, I wanted to see how it would look. Except I can’t because I can’t search for the item and it’s not one of the “procured” products they have listed. Would give it 5 stars if it had a search feature.

Why is there no search option?. Why is no way to search for an item? I’m nearly certain I want the a specific dresser and I’d like to view it in AR in my space first; but no, the only option is to scroll through a catalogue of things I don’t want or care about. App was useless so I deleted it.

Frustrating. The app only gave me item choices that were not AR available. What a waste of time to go through all the items they show, but zero are useable.

Not a large selection. There aren’t actually a lot of items with this app. Not even bedroom furniture. I appreciate what it’s trying to do but I definitely won’t get much use out of it.

No Search Feature. A huge use case for this app is to use the AR features to see if chosen furniture will fit. Don’t care what the justification is for removing the feature, this ruins the concept for a lot of us.

Hardly any models. Cool app but hardly any models makes it useless unless you’re lucky enough to be shopping for one of the few things the app has a model for. It should have the entire catalogue.

Not useful. It appears to have no sense of depth, so any items you place are out of scale and appear to be floating in the air. Entirely useless to determine placement and fit to assemble an entire room, for example. Also useless to just see what items look like, the standard IKEA catalog app has pictures to help with that. All in all a waste of time and megabytes.

Needs a lot of improvement. Still. No. Search bar. I am constrained to using sets and collections that I do not need or want at all. There’s enough inspiring content from the IKEA app, so I would prefer this to be more flexible when it comes to viewing items in AR, like being able to view items individually (dining table, chair) instead of a set.

Great idea, needs improvements. Love the idea, but needs quite a few improvements. The layout and menu design is just over complicated to make it look pretty. This app only has basic large-scale living room/dining furniture, and it seems they rarely update it which is very unfortunate. I really hope they add more rooms and furniture, I love ikea.

Constantly crashes on iPad Pro. Really surprised how this app constantly crashes on my iPad Pro. Can’t load any items before it just skips out. Finally got it to work on my phone but the links to the product are not found on the website, so again, pretty useless app.

Awful. Get a product manager to fix this app. How do you use this app? Who created it and do they understand how humans think? Make this more intuitive - give us step by step instructions. I saw a mobile and a square and deduced that I had to trace the room with the camera - it didn’t work. Awful.

Not very usefull. No search option. Furnitures are not sized for the room. No help. I can’t find furniture I saw in the store. In my opinion, it is primitive.

Waste. If it’s one thing I loathe it’s wasting time. Attempting to use 3D AR to “view” Ikea wall Art in my home is a massive fail Ikea should simply state it doesn’t work with wall Art only furniture items. Attempting with the site directly, then downloading the App only to met with the same result - frustrating and wasteful. Delete.

Pain to use. What a garbage app, there’s no text search so you literally have to search through the catalogue to find what you want to test.

Doesn’t work. I tried to use the app to decorate a room but the only option I could place was a chair. Then the app stopped working.

Not working. Furniture does not appear-just a circle on the floor...I tried an assortment of products in different spaces in my home and none worked.

Really like the concept but.... The app is not working properly. Often the products don’t appear, only the circles. Also, it would be a nice shopping tool if it had a search bar with filters to search for certain styles and colors.

Really bad. Great idea but poor implementation! Way too many bugs. Keep saving rescan the space but I have a lot of ‘furniture’ that I can’t simply delete. A lot of the items can’t be used in 3D.

Limited inventory. This is a great tool, if the item you want is in here. This app has been around for years now but still only has a small section of IKEA's catalog. It's useless most of the time you need it.

Where are the beds?. I have a couple bedrooms that need to be refurnished, but there are no beds in the app to help with that. A king size bed of any style would be nice, and also the Kura to help with the kids room.

Painful to find items. Neat app in concept. In practice you’re forced to scroll through hundreds of items to hunt down the one you want. No search, filters, or even alphabetical sorting. It’s too painful to find what you want! Keep trying, Ikea.

Broken don’t bother. I don’t know what else to say. The app never loads past 99% on multiple devices. The product catalog isn’t worth the download even when it does work.

Not ready for ios14. Waiting for an update. Fresh downloads from App Store to iPad pro2020 and iPhone 11 Pro Max on iOS 14 brought unusable app. Camera is constantly refreshing and doesn’t scan space. Needs an update to work.

Good idea, but not made right. At first it was fine in the tutorial, but now everything appears very small and definitely not the correct scale.

Not many furnitures you can find in the app. And you can’t each search them by names.

App won’t open with new iPad. New iPad, all iOS updates done. Deleted and reinstalled app. Restarted ipad. Still can’t get app to run. When I press the app I get a white screen like its going to start, then a little flicker, then the app shuts down. Bummer because I want to try out the ikea sectionals in my space before purchasing.

No Search?? No bedroom??. This app would be really helpful if I could only try out the bedroom furniture I was hoping to purchase but alas it seems the bedroom is totally missing. No search function either. Really strange.

Can’t search products. Honestly why is this so highly rated? I don’t want to “feel the room” or “be inspired” I want to see what a specific product looks like in my room. There is no way I can see to find the specific products I’m interested in.

Looked helpful. Have tried several different areas and items in the product list, and either the circle for placement doesn’t show up or it is red and won’t allow placement. Very frustrating.

Good idea/ doesn’t work. IKEA place app could be amazing but it never works. Each time I click on an item to place the circle appears but no furniture ever comes up or will place. It’s a big bummer. Hopefully they can get it fixed because I would use it ALL of the time. :)

Needs an overhaul. App is only useful for placing furniture. There is no search for items that you may be looking for. You are limited to a handful of “collections” to shop from. No accessories, textiles, kitchen items or other products available on the new app.

Poor design. I find the apps design to be very clunky. The chat interface when you first use it is annoying, as I just want to get to the main AR part of the app. The search text field made it hard to edit text.

I am jacks totally amusement. It works. I’ve learned I have terrible taste, but that’s not the apps fault.

Why can’t you purchase?. I’ve found what I want, I’ve placed it in my room using AR, why is it so hard to purchase? Why isn’t the ability to purchase easier - even if it opens up the web page it would be more helpful.

Great concept, not user friendly. Love the idea behind this app, it’s not user friendly at all. Lots of issues like “we couldn’t download the furniture” and the app thinking that my floor is 3 feet up the wall...

No Outdoor Furniture??. Highly disappointed. The app only has one line of outdoor furniture and some kids furniture. The bondholmem line that I’m looking at isn’t included. App works well (other than ‘missing search feature) but desperately needs more content.

Amazingly, less content than mainstream news.. How is this rated so highly? There are like ten pieces of furniture you can try out. On top of that, I have a LiDAR equipped iPhone (important for distance measuring) and stuff still manages to bounce all over the place in a very basic room.

They took away search. Someone decided to take away the ability to search. Instead, they force you to browse. That was a dumb move. Bring search back.

Great app, but crashes on 6s+. I love IKEA products and found IKEA Places a great app!. However, it keeps crashing on my 6s+ :(. Hope you can find the issue and fix it for the next release. Cheers!

Doesn’t have the items we need!. All I wanted to do is show the Linnmon table in my room, but this app doesn’t have it. Why wouldn’t IKEA have their whole product catalog in here? It’s not helpful to only have some items. ☹️

Absolutely amazing. I didn’t even realize what I was downloading when I saw this app- I just saw IKEA and hit YES. But this is such advancement beauty- words cannot express. Bravo !

Too few items to be useful, UI crashes at times. There are very few items with no choices of colors for it to be a useful planning tool. The UI is ok, but sometimes glitches out and has crashed even on my iPad Pro 2020 with the Lidar sensor.

Not intended for future floor plan. I wanted to be able to put in my own room dimensions so I could plan furniture for the apartment I will be getting. Not the house I live in now. All it allowed me to do is scan my room via my cellphone camera. Bummer!

Wont load. Loading screen hangs up at 97-99% and won’t finish loading. It eventually gives a service unavailable error.

Crashes and items not searchable. This app crashes when I try to use it on an apple product. I want to set up a new living room and I cannot find my set of choice in the app. Not useful. Update. I get through the terms and conditions and the app closes. Still not useful

Missing many items and no way to search. This is missing many different popular collections. It’s very difficult to find furniture items and no way to search for them. It has a very limited selection.

Cabinets. Bought cabinets from IKEA when I bought my condo and love them.

Current Build Does Not Open. The app goes through the loading screen and then displays a blue screen with a small Warning symbol. I have updated, deleted and redownloaded, and updated iOS. Nothing is working. Please fix this issue so I can decide on some shelving. I am using an iPhone X.

Total garbage: furniture does not show when placed. Great concept but very poorly executed. Followed all the on screen instructions. Scanned my living space, selected a piece of furniture and pressed the check mark to place it in the living space. Item never appeared.

Good idea but not usable. Unfortunately some minor bugs (sofa disappearing when you try to move it ) are making this app unusable at the moment.

Floating won’t stop. It works great, except the pieces don’t stop moving, floating up and down, too distracting.

BROUGHT IPHONE TO ITS KNEES!. This app has turned my phone dark, and slowed down my entire phone! I cannot minimize or close the app. I had to turn off my phone to get it to close. Finally, the app offers no way (that I could see) to plug in specific products I’m shopping for. I had to pick from pre-crafted sets that had just a few items actually for sale within them. I will be removing this app as soon as I’m finished writing this review.

I can see the intention but the execution is awful. There isn’t enough furniture selection. No options for beds/bed frames which was a big thing I think many try to plan out. Very disappointing

Crashing. For some reason it was about to load, I was able to approve my phone’s camera and agree to the terms, but now it just keeps crashing. Didn’t even get to use it🤷‍♂️
