Wanted to use it exclusively but.... After listening to one episode it brings up the next episode to play but it won’t play the next one unless I lock my iphone, view it on the lock screen and manually move the player control forward a few minutes into the next episode. This happens also if I go to a different podcast and locate an episode to listen to. Separate from that issue on some occasions it won’t play any episode, it just keeps the play button depressed so the pause button is shown but it doesn’t play, toggling between play and pause doesn’t do anything. Frustrating.

New favorite app. I’m the kind of person who needs to keep my brain busy like pretty much all the time, so I’ve always got headphones in. I like music for when I need to focus on getting work done, but whenever I’m doing chores, or especially on my morning run (or on those rare occasions when I actually have to drive somewhere), I love using that time to learn stuff. This is fantastic for that. I can knock out an episode or five whenever I get the chance, and I get a way bigger productivity hit I ever got from podcasts. It’s like cocaine vs caffeine. Except without the nosebleeds and jail. Seriously though, some of the stuff I’ve listened to on here are complete game changers. I’ll keep giving them my money as long as they keep making me smarter.

Fun but UI is confusing. Love being able to comment and like episodes. But critical features I need (access to downloaded content, playlists) are secondary considerations— meaning I have to swipe or slide to make them accessible... not great while I’m driving, or without my reading glasses. Also, playlists play in reverse order of how they are built. I want to hear five episodes, I have to add to playlist in reverse order if I want them sequential. Also: I can’t rearrange or remove items from a playlist!?

Like the app. I have used podcast for years. I have used the Apple app, Downcast, Overcast and others. Of all the apps I’ve used this app has the best design I’ve seen. Because of this I’ve quit using the other podcast apps. The problem I have with the app tho is that when I’m not connected to WiFi and I have the phone locked and the screen goes black, the podcast stops playing. I updated the app a couple weeks ago and the issue stopped but today it returned. If it wasn’t for this issue I would rate the app a 5.

Opportunity. This app is ripe with opportunity. To learn, grow, elevate, get inspired, entertained, and be challenged. I’ve never taken the time to write an app review. I’m doing so now because someone needs to hear something that’s waiting for them somewhere among the peaks and valleys of Himalaya. “Show Notes” moved—WTF!. Used to be my favorite podcast app. My biggest issue that brought me to write a review today is that the “show notes” are no longer displayed on the episode page to easily see a description of the what the episode is about. You have to go all the way over to the show page, scroll through and find the episode and open the menu tab to select “show notes.” This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Why was this changed? Makes no sense. A lesser gripe is that the playback speed function on this app is basically useless because there is a glitchy clicking noise when you increase playback speed. Other apps do not have this issue.

Looked Everywhere For This!. I set out on a mission about a year ago to find the perfect podcast app and I tried dozens! I landed on this one and it had everything I wanted. Fell in love with it immediately and I’ve never looked back. I love the ability to create folders and categories for my podcasts and to really use this as a tool for knowledge and development. Definitely recommend!

I really want to love this app.... I love the appearance and the set up but I’m having so much difficulty with the fact that the sleep timer even when I double check, and it’s running, does not shut off and episodes continue to play throughout the night keeping me from really sleeping. I also don’t like that it doesn’t hold my place if I have to shut it off I have to go back and find where I was. I also in certain podcast I’ve noticed that they’re not numbered so if I hear about one through Facebook or from an email I can’t look it up because the episodes are not numbered. I really wanted to love this app but it’s much more difficult than the current one I am using.

Suddenly a completely different app. If you used this app for podcast as tons of people had previously done, just delete it now. Apparently they no longer have podcasts available, they will no longer be updating any podcast episodes and won’t be supporting podcasts any longer. They will be focusing completely on audio books and stories/courses as their sudden, new name suggests. Will be deleting the app after years of using it as my exclusive podcast listening platform. Sad to see it go as the UI was great and the playlists option was wonderful, but I won’t be using it for anything now and it would just take up space, so it’ll be deleted.

Great Concept, Incredibly Buggy.. The app has a great UI, cool discovery features, and when it works it’s great. Problem is that it doesn’t work more often than it works. Randomly losing place, resuming playback at the wrong times, if you stop a podcast and start another one it’ll start at that time instead of the beginning, and played episodes will show up out of order. Once those are all addressed, I will probably switch to using Himalaya full time. Until then it’s a strong not recommend.

The best podcast app. First of all, I wanna thank you. This app is fantastic and powerful. I’ve recommended This app to many of my friends. I tested many apps for podcast and your app is the best and the most user friendly app. I have a suggestion, if you make the sleep timer more easier to access & bring The sleep timer to the main page of playing podcast, instead of being a choice between that podcast’s options, it would be more user friendly, because I think sleep timer is an important option & every professional podcast listener wants to have a quick access to it. Good for recommendations. So why would you use something other than the tried and true podcast players? It’s got a much more attractive user interface than most others and it provides pretty solid recommendations of other shows I’ve really enjoyed. However, there have been a lot of playback issues where I’ve given up and listened on another format. This has improved over time, but still an issue here and there, which can be very annoying since Himalaya will think you haven’t listened to an episode. Looking forward to future improvements

Good content, annoying user interface. Love the amount of shows. Lots of new and lesser known podcasts. My problem is when trying to add a specific episode to a playlist (bc idk how to queue it to play next) or see the description of an episode, the ... is so small the episode ends up playing and cutting off whatever I’m listening to. Since there’s no queue (other than a show specific one ex. all episodes of one show) I have to try and find the episode I was just listening to. 😫 Hopefully I can figure something out soon and if I do I’ll change my rating but as of now the set up is very aggravating.

Needs work, but great possibilities. Still missing important things.. Appearance is nice, but still lacks individual podcast rss. Won't be a serious podcast app, until this is fixed. Also while it has ompl import, it misses some podcasts during importing them. But you can’t copy an rss address and paste it to add it to too shows. Too many developers have to reinvent the wheel, all podcast apps should have certain basic things. Pasting RSS feeds is one of them. this apps appearance is very nice though.

Siri Integration Broken. Love this app. I’ve tried many podcast apps and this one has stuck with me the longest for it’s organization and ability to curate and propose new podcasts for me. One BIG issue - Siri integration is not working. Like many of us, I listen to podcasts hands free and need the ability to start, stop, rewind, fast forward using my voice. Unfortunately, it is not working in the app right now - Siri pauses temporarily for 4-5 seconds and then continues playing the podcast. Very maddening. Please fix this issue and I’ll bump my review back up to 4-5. Thanks!

Worst Customer Service Ever.... Worst customer service ever. Not even because they’re rude, but because they are negligent and will literally ignore you and not respond to your emails, which is the ONLY way to reach them. I did a Himalaya+ free trial for a specific podcast, but did not like it enough to keep it past the trial, so I follow the instructions on how to cancel a trial/Himalaya+ membership, but there is no option to cancel like the FAQs said there would be. I get charged since there is literally no way for me to cancel in the app, so I email support with my issue on Jan 8th and ask them to cancel my membership for me. They respond the next day and say they will reach out to their finance and engineering team to look into this problem for me, but that is the last time I hear anything from them. I get charged again on Feb 10th and email support (with screen shots of the charges and email trail) to let them know the issue has not been resolved. I haven’t heard a peep from anyone in support yet, hence why I am writing this review. I would really like for someone to contact me ASAP. This is unacceptable.

So close to being so good. Switched over to exclusively using Himalaya over the Apple podcast app because it had become too frustrating to navigate. I like the app overall, but there are a few bugs that are driving me nuts. First, it crashes constantly. Usually while I’m trying to search for a new podcast or browsing discover to find a new podcast. Second, it will randomly start an episode in the middle when I’ve never listened to that episode before. This makes it a little difficult to distinguish if I’ve already started listening to something and moved on, or if it’s just the weird glitch and I should just restart the episode. Besides those two issues though I really like this app and the way it’s setup. It’s easy to find things and to get to new episodes, and I’ve officially switched over all my podcast listening to this platform. Wish it was slightly better, hoping there will be more updates that hammer out these minor flaws in what seems to be a promising app.

Not loving it. I went to Himalaya b/c a podcast I follow joined & has membership privileges of members only content. But I am constantly having problems listening. The show drops & the play/pause button just spins & spins, even after confirming that I’m connected to WiFi & most recently, I’ve downloaded the show to the phone & this still happens! And don’t try to pause a show...if I do, when I hit play again, same deal. I constantly have to close the app & reopen to find my place. This never happened when I used a free podcast app!

My Fav Podcast App!. Literally the best podcast app I’ve ever used. Some weird bugs occur now and then. New episodes I’ve never listened to will start at the end and hitting play outside of the app (like while my phone is locked or from swiping up) will not actually play unless I pause and play again. Other than that, the best UI I’ve ever seen, fantastic recommendations off what you listen to, and every podcast I could ever want ❣️

Love the concept - hate the constant stopping. I love the concept of the tip jar and how your work with your podcasters. It’s great! I specifically joined because one of my favorite podcasts (Obscura) talked so highly of it and I became a paying member to support some of my favorite podcasters. My only complaint is that the app randomly stops playing - completely out of the blue. Multiple times a day. I have to kill the app and start over. It’s so frustrating when you’re driving. If you could fix that bug - this app would be the best podcast app out there.

Works like a charm. I have an iPhone 8+, no access to Wifi, a limited data plan, and chronic insomnia. Decided to check out Himalaya after hearing the host of True Crime Historian recommend it. The Apple podcast player was driving me nuts-new episodes would drop and I’d eagerly hit play only to get an error message the show was unavailable. I listen to podcasts to help me sleep/relax and create playlists to last hours. Apple would play one or two in the list before giving me the ol’ unavailable error and disrupting my peace with infuriating silence. Himalaya works. It’s always available. And it even offers me suggestions of new podcasts to listen to that I love and never would have found through Apple or anywhere else.

User friendly but buggy. More of a community than Apple podcast app, more informational, easier to explore. Great recommendations. Only problems: one of the podcasts I listen to stops halfway 100% of the time, and the sleep timer, no matter how many times I set it for “when current episode ends,” defaults to “off.” Been woken up every night after falling asleep to a podcast, because it’s been going and going, episode after episode. On the plus side: weird dreams.

Love the layout but a few bugs and suggestions. I started using the Himalaya app last week and I love the layout. Very clean and easy to navigate! However, episodes will occasionally start in the middle even though it is my first time playing them. This is frustrating! I also would appreciate an easy way to queue podcasts that I intend to listen to next. I cannot find that function within the app if it exists. Overall, a good start but needs some work! Thanks for the app. I look forward to seeing it evolve and grow.

Lacking key features. This app looks great, and I really enjoyed using it until you are overwhelmed by the lack of features. You can’t filter apps by played/unplayed in your library. You can’t even short your podcasts you follow alphabetically. Second missing feature is the web app wont label a episode as played, even though the app tracks this. So if you were to use a desktop you have no idea which episodes you’ve listened to. The app also has a tendency to automatically pause while listening to podcasts. These features won’t break the app, but make navigating your library very difficult if you follow more than 10 podcasts. I like that Himalaya is trying to offer more options for revenue for podcast by allowing tips, and subscription models. The social aspect is also a interesting spin to allow people to comment on each episode. I hope Himalaya adds these features so the app becomes easier to navigate.

Better off sticking with apples default.. This app has numerous bugs. For example, doesn’t auto start next podcast when phone is locked. But the UX is just all wrong. To get to a time ordered list of episode I have to 1) open app, 2) tap library then 3) tap downloaded 4) tap “as episodes. “. That’s 4 taps every time I open the app because it doesn’t bother to remember the where it was on last time. It’s as if the developers had a really good idea and then just decided to develop around that and only that, rather than realizing that the primary purpose of a pod catcher is to play pod casts.

Great app, better than Patreon for podcasts. Play is quick and smooth, unlike Patreon where it takes forever or just doesn’t load in at all. One concern I have found however is in external rss links, once your phone is locked and the screen is off the sound immediately shuts off. Once the screen lights up the opposite happens. Please fix background play on custom RSS feeds, would be greatly appreciated! Otherwise 5 stars!

Good layout but some bugs. Hi, I tried looking for a bug report portal online but couldn’t find one. With the old version if I was 30 minutes into say episode 240 and i clicked on episode 241, it would start me 30 minutes in and I’d have to rewind. Then if episode 241 was shorter than 30 minutes it would immediately start playing the episode after that. I then got a bug where it wouldn’t let me play to rewind because every time the episode immediately finished. So, I just updated. Now, my app crashes immediately upon opening every time, even after restarting my phone. The app has a nice layout and I’ve used this app pretty consistently but for the moment it’s unusable. Please advise, I’d prefer not to delete/reinstall and lose my watch history.

Better than apple. This app works significantly better than the one apple has put out. However, I wish I was able to get all the podcasts that are through apple. So far that has been the only downside for me in using this app. Update: I have been enjoying this app for a while. However, every time they update something it seems to be for the worse not the better. If they don’t change some things back or at least give users options to change things back I will be deleting this app too. I hate it because I have yet to find a truly good podast app. I had hope for this one but that is waning.

I Like It But...... For the most part I like this app. The podcast I’ve searched for have been on the app. My two big complaints are the playlist and editing playlist. When you create a playlist it doesn’t put the shows in chronological order you have to do that manually. During one of the updates they changed the edit playlist icon. Took me a bit to figure it out. Except for those two things I really like the app.

Looks great, doesn’t work. I really want to love this app. The UI is beautiful and seamless. However, it suffers from several problems that make the app almost unusable. For one, the time bar on the lock screen or control center is always wrong. Himalaya can say a podcast is 60 min, but the slider on the lock screen only goes up to 30 min, making it impossible to scrub to a later part of an episode outside of the Himalaya app. More recently, the app sometimes just stops showing any information at all. All the shows in my library and the explore page are still there, but clicking on any podcast just says there’s no episodes. In combination, these issues make the app largely unusable. I really love the appearance of the app, as well as the largest library I’ve seen outside of the Apple Podcasts app, but I can’t recommend it until these bugs are gone.

I wish it was better. Everytime they do an update it gets worse. There's no download button when you're viewing an episode page so you have to scroll back to the podcasts home page. The color layout is difficult to see. It doesn't list new episodes and instead you have to click through every podcasts you follow to see the new episodes. And worst of all, I CONSTANTLY share podcasts to my Instagram stories and that isn't an option anymore, now it only goes to the post option 🤦🏼‍♀️

A hidden gem. I love this app. I've tried almost every other podcast app out there but keep coming back to this. The discover section is above and beyond all others and the features within the app are top notch. The reason I give it 4 stars is because I've constantly contacted support to get them to fix the download feature. The app only downloads episodes when the app is open. So if I forget to open the app before stepping out for work in the morning, I'll end up having to stream. In addition, it only lets you download 3 episodes. I wish there was a way to increase/decrease this. Lastly, it would be nice if the playback speed didn't reset back to 1x every time the app is restarted.

Almost unusable. For the better part of a year, Himalaya was my go-to Podcasting app. A few months ago, a weird bug disrupted the usual playback feature, and it took about a week to be fixed. Not ideal. NOW, the latest update has rendered the app nearly unusable, with constant undefined “parameter” issues preventing entire episodes from being played. According to other reviews, its clear that its not even isolated to my device or the podcasts I frequent. Himalaya has yet to even address it. I think it’s about time I called it quits and moved on to something better. I recommend you do the same.

Almost Perfect. I really love this app, honestly I do. It’s a little clunky at times in terms of downloading the episodes and creating an “up next” list, but my biggest complaint is that this app doesn’t connect with Alexa, or at least I can’t figure out how to connect it to Alexa. I love podcasts and use this app almost daily, but I wish I could have it through my speaker. Other than those things I really love it!

It’s okay... randomly plays when opened. Made the switch from CastBox after that app was constantly crashing, but after a recent update of this one, Himalaya will randomly play when I open it. Sometimes my volume will be down and I’ll miss entire episodes. UI is simple enough and I dig everything else, the only problem is a glaring one. I’m not sure the developers have it on their priority list since the past couple updates have only been UI improvements, after I have told them multiple times of this issue. Please fix this

A great app, but needs some refining. This app is great and far superior to the Apple podcast app I’ve been using for so long. It’s amazingly easy to get around, easy to find the podcast you’re looking for in you library, and it’s designed really well. I also really love that I get better recommendations from this app than on Apple podcast. I always see the same shows on Apple and nothing new. But this app isn’t without its bugs. The thing that annoys me the most is that it always starts playing what you’re listening to when you open the app which means you’ll be at work, unlock your phone, go to the app to search for a new show and as soon as it opens it starts playing a podcast for all to hear. It’s not too bad when your alone but it always happens to me public. Also when I pick an episode to listen to it will either play another episode that I didn’t choose or will start playing the episode at a random point so you have to start it from the beginning. Also I’ll be half way through a podcast, stop to listen to something else, and then come back to it it won’t remember where I was. It just plays it from the beginning again and I have to find where I was. Other than a few performance bugs I really love this app. I just want the developers to have a new update to fix them. Then they’d easily have a 5 star from me.

Good recommendations, but the app is slow and slightly buggy. Easily the best podcast app for finding new shows, and especially for finding episodes about a topic across shows (for example, when I became obsessed with an author and wanted to hear all of their podcast appearances). But when I know exactly what I want to listen to, it takes a surprising number of clicks and amount of time to get there. And there are some weird bugs where A completely different episode plays while my intended episodes graphic is on the screen

Switching to another app. I really want to like this app as the interface is really sleek and I like the suggestions. But I can’t get it to work with my Airpods - the double tap doesn’t pause it and I have to open the app to start playback instead of resuming playback once I put the Airpods in. Perhaps the most annoying feature is that any time I play an episode it jumps to the middle of the episode and never starts from the beginning. All and all it’s a hassle and the attractiveness of the app just isn’t worth it.

GREAT searching feature. So many podcasts available to search by keywords (even if you’re like me and just have the idea of ‘spooky?’). Love the comment feature for when the hosts just can’t seem to think of the word or thing you’re shouting at them through your phone. All the updates so far have been noticeably better than the last, can’t wait to see what’s next!

I want to love it but.... The app updated and my podcasts wouldn’t play with my phone locked. They would either glitch out or just pause. Then the app was updated again and I can play podcasts with my phone locked now...but the sleep timer doesn’t work. I have set it. Double and triple checked and I wake up to have “listened” to 10 or more episodes while I was sleeping. Now I have no idea what I have or haven’t listened to. I do love the UI on this app, it’s beautiful and keeps pulling me back but every time a new fault comes up I find myself downloading stitcher again.

A Few Suggestions.... I like this app well enough, but there is one feature I would love to see implemented that would make it easier to use. It would be nice to set up a temporary queue that would delete itself when I reach the end or something like that. It’s bothersome to have to pre make a list and then go back and delete it when I’m done listening to it. It would also be nice to add a show after the one I’m listening to just in case I find something I want to listen to right away rather than wait until the end of my playlist to hear it. I listen to my shows while I work and sometimes I don’t have time to move things around in my list. I hope this made sense... but I do love the app and how it treats my favorite podcasters. Keep up the good work!

Ehhhh. The more I use it, the less I like it. It’s easier to use the download section of the Library than it is to make a playlist. The playlists don’t auto play. However, I want the sorting to stay oldest-to-newest but it keeps changing back the other way, which messes up my play order. Also, there’s no option to have the download to delete after play and to remove it, I have to press a small check. And that can lead to pressing another button adding another unnecessary step.

Bring back the “feed” tab. The app is broken. For months, the refresh is much slower than it used to be. Playback is often buggy, with periodic cut outs. The most aggravating thing is that the “feed” list doesn’t work. When displaying podcasts by Show, organized by Episode, it only shows about 10 Episodes before requiring a pause to refresh. Sometimes it just a stops there, sometimes it will populate more around 10 more Episodes before requiring a pause to keep scrolling to another batch. The worst part is that it never allows more than around 5 of these “scroll, pause, populate” experiences before it simply stops scrolling further. This means there is no way to scroll into your feed more than a few episodes! This is so frustrating when I want to scroll back even 1-2 days to see if I missed something interesting. Scrolling thru episodes just simply doesn’t work. iPhone 11 ProMax. Latest iOS. Please fix scrolling through episodes to make it faster and mostly allow continuous scrolling back in time without cutting out after a few lines.

Great podcast app. I love Himalaya. I think there are a lot of awesome features in here for both the creators and the audience, like the ability to give a thumbs up and leave a comment on an episode, I also appreciate they give the content creators the ability to charge for extra content so if you’re interested in more stuff from a specific person, you can see if they have any available instead of having to search for the patron they might not have.

i feel great to me. I am a fans of himalaya for such a long time. I am feeling great and this app is easy to use. I am always listening some interesting story and books when I get up. But sometime I feel it doesn’t work smoothly and sometimes the spinner showing a long time. Hope you gays could improve it.

Great app with one flaw. I’ve been using Himalaya for about 6 months now and it’s been great. It has every podcast I listen to and the interface is sweet. I do have one issue. When the phone is locked and playing a podcast through Himalaya, I can pause with my headphones just fine. However, when attempting to resume the podcast, it plays for about a second then stops playing again. This requires me to hit the play button on my headphones again. Not a huge issue, just a minor annoyance. I’ve had this issue with three different phone now and several different versions of iOS. I also have this issue with wired or wireless headphones. Anyways, hope you can use this info to help solve a bug. Thank you!

The best podcast app I've tried but missing Bluetooth controls. This is the best podcast app I've ever used. It's fast, a whole lot easier to navigate then Apple podcasts, allows search within a show, and doesn't have ads. The only thing missing is the ability to use external controls (such as car media buttons) to skip forward/back 15sec rather then go to the next episode.

Too many problems. When I first got the app about 6 months ago it was great. But, over the last two months about ready to delete and go with another app for podcasts. Here are my issues: 1. Some episodes will not play in order on any podcast, always going in reverse no matter how I have them sorted on the app. Some play correctly, some do it. 2. Random episodes of all podcasts will continue to play with no sound. I can see the time clicking away but can't hear anything. Sometimes I can go to another podcast and come back to correct the problem but doesn't always work. Have tested and the episode will play on Stitcher just fine. I do have the latest version of the app and problems persist.

New update issues. This app was great & my chosen podcast app (I listen to a LOT): simple, clean, has everything available, ability to make playlists (which means u can follow podcasts without getting spoilers from most recent episodes downloading). However ever since the most recent update a couple weeks ago I’ve been having lots of streaming playback issues, podcast often starting from the beginning after crash, and more importantly— the audio shuts off whenever my iPhone goes to sleep, which renders this unusable, unless u happen to be on your phone doing other things while listening. It works in lock mode but not when the screen goes black to sleep. Really annoying & impossible for battery life when traveling. I could not find settings anywhere to do anything abt this & wasn’t previously an issue that I noticed. Was working flawlessly before. Will update my review back to 5 stars when this gets addressed- hope it does soon & I don’t have to download a new app, for now reverting to the dreaded apple podcast app!

Payment made but no membership granted. The annual membership fee was deducted on 30 September 2022 and when I am arranging some audiobook today (4 October 2022) before my flight, I can’t access any of the membership benefits within the app as I was regarded as non-member. That is super frustrating

Podcasts always unavailable. Podcasts get 2 minutes in and stop. Always get a “This podcast is currently unavailable” all the time. So frustrating. It’s so bad I’m going back to the Apple podcast. App. That’s saying something.

Rubbish. Why u block my CN version and force me using this rubbish. Rubbish!

It is such an frustrating experience. I have purchased an annual VIP membership. After a week I can still not be able to access to any of the podcasts and books. I have sent a few requests but so far it has not been resolved. I should have checked the review before subscribing it. It is such a a bad experience.

很不好用！. 很不好用，书不完全。播放的时候顺序时不时就乱了，整个操作很不方便。一个月20刀很不值。我每天花在听书的时间不下于4个小时，我也愿意每个月花20刀但是这个APP让我觉得很不值。 希望能尽早改进。

无故扣钱. 一直用的国内的喜马拉雅，看到国际版下了想试试看，只是绑定了啥也没干，过了一周扣了年费，问题是上了APP还不是会员….

Good app. Happy with your app, you’ve obviously put a lot of thought and work into it. One aspect you haven’t quite nailed yet is the ease of finding new episodes. Even if you made shows with new eps appear at the top of our show list, that would be a big improvment

Buffering and crashing after update. Since the last two updates the app is crashing and buffering a lot. The app is almost unusable!

Excellent. This is the best podcast app I’ve used by far and I’ve tried them all. Any podcast you want to hear you will find on hear, including some great podcasts produced by himalaya themselves. I love the tip jar which is perfect if you want to support a show but can’t afford it monthly like you would with Patreon. The best feature by far is they will import all your favourite pods from any app straight to theirs. I’ve never had an issue with this app, it’s simply excellent.

与国内版天壤之别. 为啥感觉开发国际版的是实习生呢 播放不能从后往前 而且播完的等第二次播的时候会自动跳过 导致我一觉醒来 下次再听的时候 得一集一集的点 真的是烂透了 rnm 退钱

不是很好用. 我在听一个一千多集的有声书，列表只有顺序排列，没有倒序，每次想听最新一集，都要往下刷好久…这实在太不方便了，希望能改进！

功能缺失. 相对比于国内版，国际版一些好用的功能却没有。比如定时功能，和国内版不同（不能按听完若干章节后停用）。删除下载音频功能也和国内版不一样，无法删除已听完音频。希望能够改进一下，提高用户体验。谢谢

Ximalaya version or up to par last option move on. If you want us to use it. Have you ever considered your costumer feeling? have you ever thought about your target market? Do you know your content? Do you know how amazing you are forcing people to search a book from scrolling down is the only option. Even better I have a idea let’s make the book huge so they can spend more time scrolling down and get to see the whole book with bigger picture. Do you know what 99% of your content is either we don’t read or already read from Ximalaya. Your making worst by having only option is to scroll down not sub categories to search and no refresh on random search. Are you expecting all of us know how to type Chinese and read Chinese and go forum discussion which book is good for us and just type that book out. Have you ever thinking most of us grow outside China only able to listen and talk Chinese. We love Chinese story and at same we love using Ximalaya for its easy use and content. If we want to read English books there are better way for us to to obtain one, or we already reading one already. In other we want Chinese content. If you want to make Chinese content focus on Chinese content if you want to focus on foreigners content focus on foreigner content. Otherwise we call it “lin do mer hum” in Cantonese. Ps if Ximalaya doesn’t work for abroad we might as well look for new app that does. Cause if this app is free is still garbage. Not considering it expensive for garbage. It’s not ninja ice cream it’s like label lychee.

Awful APP. The worst APP I’ve ever seen. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. They charge me over 80 dollars without my permission. I haven’t done anything. I even refused free trial. I requested refund. No one respond.

Good but needs a few things to be best. It doesn’t pause when gmaps or Waze is reading directions, as some others do which is a super helpful feature. I’m on a 6, but the app crashes by not playing and I have to close all my apps and restart it, if I have too many apps open, which is usually once a day. I like the layout/UX better than overcast and stitcher though.

Wish I had known sooner!. As an avid podcast user I wish I had known about this app sooner. I was splitting my listening between Stitcher and Apple Podcasts. But ALL of that content is in one place on Himalaya! I do wish more of my podcasts were member only.

Downhill. I switched from Apple to Himalaya due to tech issues with Apple. Now Himalaya is giving me issues. The main one is organizing my podcasts. I used to be able to organize by category and move them manual around. Now it won’t let me organize them manually, I have to choose one of Himalaya’s options: Updated, Added or Alphabetical. When you ask for help you get the typical, “Our engineers are looking into it”. I’m going to switch to a different platform. So frustrating.

Can’t find episodes. This was a great app, but the developers got greedy. They removed functionality without any warning. It stopped remembering where you closed it so it could always advertise paid content. That was bad. But now, it won’t show or let you download new episodes of any podcast (including free ones) unless you pay! Shame on them. The number of bugs is also going up, so expect their ratings to tank. I’m never using this app again!

Sold Out. Himalaya used to be the best podcast platform by far, but it seems they’ve sold out to some Chinese company and are now nothing more than a cheap scam. Podcasts are no longer updated and the app tries to push a premium subscription to their “curated shows”, which is all poorly disguised ultra communist propaganda. Truly a shame what’s happened to this company.

Previous update was better. This app would have a 5 star from me because of their previous layout of the app but This new update is not conducive. There’s no way to select the people you follow. I don’t want to just see the newest posts, I want to be able to see and select the playlists of the people I like and follow.

Amazing app. This app is awesome but... can you please create a library feature where app of episodes can be played from one place and sorted however the user choose? Almost like a music library with all of your music regardless of artist, album, etc...

Unable to login. Unable to login (on my iPod Touch) either with using Facebook as the login or with my email and password. Have tried the past three or four days and every time it says “The system is busy, please try again later.” I am able to login on my Samsung Galaxy phone perfectly fine. On my phone it works well.

Best Podcast App!. This is the best podcast app. I’ve discovered. I can sync my podcasts and playlists between my iPad and IPhone with ease. The search function is great and the ability to create and edit playlist is the best feature of all for me.

Hard to filter out VIP content. The original app has a small icon that tell people this is VIP content, i found this version is very hard to filter out the content that is FREE without having the icon, which i have to open each profile to see if’s FREE. Please improve!!!

Love it! One problem.... I love the app. The play-listing feature is awesome and beyond that it works as my standard podcast app should. The only thing is that lately when my phone locks, it stops playing the podcast. This doesn’t happen with any other app, and I couldn’t find anything in the settings. Happy to change my review if this gets fixed!

Good but buggy app. Programs suddenly stop updating for several days at at time even if you refresh. Good selection of available content but cannot access description of episodes without playing them. No help or contact links in the app.

Great audio app. I use this app to listen to my Chinese audio books. It’s great. I just bought the membership. Today, I just got charged for the app but I lost the access to the book I’m listening to. This makes no sense. Please give me the full access that I’m paying for.

Best podcast app I have used.. Loving this app because the navigation and controls are intuitive. Nice job on the interface and features like easy management of favorites and custom lists. I have an older iPhone 6 and wish the app booted faster and had a Apple Watch app.

I want to live this App. Himalaya is a solid Podcast App that offers a clean interface, awesome search algorithm, and some cool built in features. The deal breaker for me was the Apple CarPlay function. Every podcast I tried would start then quit back to the CarPlay home screen. I listen to the majority of my Podcasts in the car and without this feature being reliable I can’t use it. Hopefully they release an update to fix this. I really want to come back!

Please make playlists easier. Great app, but it’s super annoying trying to add shows to playlists. They start playing more often than not, when I’m already listening to a show. I like this setup better than iTunes, and this seems to be the only thing I’d change.

Content is good. Not all the content in the original Chinese version app is synced to this international version app. I wrote an email to support but received no response. Existing content is good and I enjoy listening to Himalaya everyday. Just hope you can update and add new books more frequently.

It’s my go to app, but it could be so much better. This app is way better than the Apple version. I love the navigation and interface. But it crashes constantly. At first I figured it was a bad update, but that was over a year ago. I will continue to use it, but I can’t recommend it until the issue is resolved.

Want to love. Can’t so far.. I was so happy to find an alternative to the Apple podcast app but this might not be it. The app will constantly pause during a podcast and then it takes several tries of closing the app and reopening it before it will play again. When it works this app is excellent but it stops on me at least every day now.

Podcasts continually stop. I enjoy the app, the ease of saving & finding favorites but when I listen it constantly stops playing for no reason. It does not matter if I’m listening in my car, with a headset or on speaker with my phone sitting right next to me, it just STOPS playing. I don’t want to have to constantly hit play, I want it to JUST PLAY.

Almost perfect. I love this app. I really don’t like Apple’s app and made the switch. Unfortunately I can’t control it on my lockscreen or control center making my controls on my AirPods useless. I had to switch back to Apple’s app. Once this is fixed, I’ll make the permanent switch and look into the premium options. My device is a 7+

Spiritual Channel. Just amazing I say agin just amazing!! For anyone out there that want to get even closer to our lord Jesus Christ download and listen to the spiritual Channel I mostly listen to it when I am going to sleep it helps with sleep as well download this app you won’t be disappointed!

Wanted to love it.. I really wanted to love this app, all my favorite POD cast were advertising, but it just didn’t meet my expectations. The POD cast skip and just stop, mine just skipped to another episode, after I had been listening for 3/4 of the first one. I have tried to figure out how to set up “play next” and just couldn’t find it. I even looked on Google to see what I can find. I do like their recommendations a lot, so I find ones I like then switch back to Podcast on my iPhone.

Apple Watch App Please!. Love this app. This is my go to app for Podcasts. It’s clean and easy to use. Please make an Apple Watch app though! I want to be able to listen to my podcasts on my watch! Update: please keep your interface as simple as possible. I love the minimalistic approach that y’all use to have. The new player seems a little cluttery.

Himalaya podcasts site. Promising site but very buggy and awkward to use. Adding to play list is very confusing. When I tap “Add to play list I get the “Create play list.” I don’t want to create a new one, I want to add to my existing one. I don’t think they test these features with normal people before installing them.

Fantastic.. My only complaint: i wish playback speed was slightly more quick-access. like, an always-visible button for that would be great. Otherwise, PERFECT.

Probably Best for Beginners. This app is easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing. If I were just starting out and wanted to find new shows, I think it would be perfect. Unfortunately, I think the actual play is subpar. There aren’t many options to organize the order in which episodes play, which is important to me because I spend a lot of time driving. My search for a replacement to the native apple podcast app continues.

Promising, but won't be using without additional features. I tried to switch to Himalaya from Downcast. It seems promising, but it's missing two critical features: * Sort by name: I follow hundreds of podcasts. Often I want to go to a specific one. The easiest way to do this is if they are sorted by name (also acceptable would be a text field at the top of the podcast list to enable filtering by name). * Import playlists: it's great that you can import subscriptions, but I also have a bunch of playlists I want to keep, and don't want to create again. Once these features are available, I'll try Himalaya again.

Please fix audio skip instead of skip to next track. Love the clean UI and features but the only thing that’s bothering me is not being able to fast forward the audio on my Bluetooth headphones and car. This isn’t a music player for short track skips but pod cast that’s longer for fast forward to be a better feature. Please improve this important feature. Otherwise love this app.

Trying to move on over.... I really appreciate this podcast platform. No problems, except. Except for the random buffering whilst in the middle of a podcast I’m listening to. This brings rage to my heart. Sometimes if I ‘click’ the previous or next episode, it’ll catch up and resume as normal. Maddening, really. But. I’m not gonna go anywhere. Thank you, and Cheers!

Close to perfect. I really love this app, however it seems to have one issue: it randomly starts new episodes somewhere in the middle instead of the beginning. It’s kinda strange, I thought maybe the player was playing when I wasn’t aware, but these are for brand-new episode drops. If this is fixed it will truly be the best hands down

App is good but needs more contents to be reasonably valuable. I am a heavy VIP user of 喜玛拉雅 outside China. With more and more contents are restrained in US region due to copyright issue, I have an impression that this “Himalaya” is an international version to handle this issue. Unfortunately, it is not this case at this moment, the contents provided in this app are far more less than the original 喜玛拉雅. Hopefully, more valuable contents can be provided here as well.

Great but. Loving Himalaya for a number of reasons explained in other ratings. But would love and really miss the daily playlist I can make in other podcast apps. I want to listen to my few news apps every morning. So I don’t want to add an episode to my list. I want to auto add every episode. Help?

No queue. This app has a lot of potential however I could not find a way to queue up different podcasts. Even if it is in there someplace it’s buried too far down for me to find at this point. Hopefully this will be corrected in the future and when it is I may be back

New episodes not starting at beginning?. I really just want a reliable and easily integrated podcast app, this one comes close but a few things are killing it for me: 1. Can’t use with Sonos (at least with what I have now) 2. New episodes commonly start inconsistently somewhere in the middle of the show

Much better than apple podcasts!!!. Has a Patreon like feature, that allows you through the app to be able to get bonus content through select podcasts, would love to see this encompass more podcasts. I currently support obscuria. Really happy I switched over from apple.

Great selection, but.... I love the variety of podcasts that are available on this app. It has almost every podcast that I was specifically looking for. However, the majority of the episodes I listen to get cut off a few minutes before the end of the episode. It’s incredibly irritating.

Great app.. I tried many podcast apps before settling on this app. It does everything I want it to. The only downfall is that every time I use it I have to reset the sleep timer. I wish that my choice would become the default.

Functional but Painfully Liberal. I like this app and they have a good selection of the podcast that I enjoy. However it is beyond annoying that they constantly and expressly are pumping liberal podcasts for me. Trying to get me to listen to Michelle Obama, Bill Gates, Anderson Cooper, NPR, and on and on and on. No end to this. It’s truly ridiculous.

Great design but .... I love the lay out of this app but I am tired of the way the designers use dark pattern marketing to Intentionally misdirect users. An example of this is shading out options that are not benefiting the seller. It shows lack of respect for users (why get a membership when the seller thinks so little of you?) and has gives the impression of desperation(we need to deceive people to make money). Trust your users and they will reciprocate.

Just started using it.. Been using Apple’s Podcast app since day one. Heard about Himalaya recently and gave it a text drive. Pleasantly surprised so far. Nice clean interface. Seems not to be lacking any shows I’ve subscribed to. Sticking with it for now.

I like it better due to sort features.. I like the features of sorting old and current shows etc, it’s easier than the others. It does occasionally hang up and I have to leave the app and go back in. Buts it’s no biggie for me.

Not bad. Clean look and the library/playlist feataures look good and easy. The main page of new recommendations I generally click on to sample if I like it outside of my usual podcasts. So far so good.

oh, how i want to love himalaya!. ...but the bugs are driving me absolutely insane! i’ve been trying to listen to a podcast episode for the past hour...and i’m having to restart it every few minutes, because it keeps randomly stopping. 😢 aside from that, himalaya is awesome! it’s user-friendly and i love how appropriate the recommendations are! the only other thing i would ask for would be a queuing option, so that i could listen to the episodes i want without manually having to go and play each one when the previous one ends. (like the “play next”, “play later” option that apple podcasts has.)

Stoppages. I love Himalaya. I actually get my favorite podcast a day early. But I hate the stoppages. I will be listening and all of a sudden it stops and I get the dreaded spinning circle around the pause button. It happens on almost every podcast I listen to. Sometimes I cannot get it to start again at all. There are some podcasts I never finished because of this. I just gave up.

Better than Apple's Podcast app. Easier to navigate and find shows I want as well as similar podcasts. Categories are organized better. Looks cleaner as well

Bug fixed!. Edit: The bug seems fixed on iOS 13.1. Thanks! I like Himalaya so far, but with iOS 13, if you try to use the "search" feature, the app crashes. I have had to switch back to another app for adding new podcasts. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Remove downloads after played?. Would give it 5 stars if it either 1)asked me to delete episode after downloading it or 2) had a setting to automatically remove episodes from downloaded after finished- I don’t like listening to a podcast and then it automatically going to a podcast I’ve played before.
