doesn’t work. I need to block my grandma from texting me bullsh**, without actually blocking her number. I’ve added all of the words I don’t want any association with, and they still go through. I thought I had to pay for it to work, but I was wrong. Waste of money.

Doesn’t work. This app simply doesn’t work I put in the key word Carleton as this isn’t my name but I get scam texts calling me that and I still get texts with Carleton in them. If I’m doing something wrong I would gladly change the rating but as of now 1/5 stars sorry.

Best free spam blocking app. All you have to do is type in keywords of the texts that you get and it will automatically block them for FREE.

Waste of time and money. I was tired of spam text messages so I thought I’d try this app. I purchased the full version of this app hoping it would work better. Well after a month, nothing has changed. It doesn’t block messages that have matched keywords. The app itself hasn’t “learned” what to filter, which was the point of purchasing the full version. It was a waste of time and money.

Finally Something that Works. I have tried a lot of other apps. Only a couple actually worked but required a subscription and still didn’t block certain spam text. Having the ability to put in custom words in is amazing. AI can be good at blocking but sometimes being able to add your own words is just better. May take a bit to get everything typed in, but it’s worth it in the end. I was getting 10-20 spam text a day. It’s already stopped them since I installed it a couple hours ago, they were put in the junk folder. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to block the text notifications on my Apple Watch. Hoping maybe that will be something added later on. For now because I get so many text I just disabled notifications for text on my watch.

Very good. I ended up turning off all the ML and crowdsourcing keywords because they were a little overzealous, but I'm fine with adding my own keywords and the app works really well for that. It's a nice app.

Great support. I thought this wasn’t working and sent a message to the developer. He responded in under a day and politely had me reread the faqs which fixed the problem

Spam messages. I was getting 5-10 spam texts per day. I reported them for months to carrier. That system was useless. Had this app for awhile and only one slipped through. No problem, just submitted a keyword in text and zero, zip Nadia! Thanks!!!

Scam? Proceed with caution. Never had a single issue with Spam callers or texters, but a friend advised me to download a blocker regardless. I made the mistake of choosing Vero - upon realizing they could monitor my incoming messages I deleted the App, and suddenly started getting 50+ spam messages a day. Take this warning with a grain of salt as I can’t prove whether or not they’re the cause, but it seems oddly suspicious that my number (a number that never had spam calls or texts even before Vero) suddenly gets hammered after leaving Vero. Almost seems like they want their business back and are driving demand eh?

Effectiveness diminished. I’ve had this app for several years. It used to be 100 percent effective but now not so much. For example I have “Trump” and “Biden” in my blocklist but I get unsolicited texts from unknown numbers with these words all the time. Also I’ve blocked my address and street name yet I get texts from unknown numbers offering to buy my house. I have many more examples. Something needs to be fixed.

Frustrating. I have no way of knowing how many messages are filtered but every day the same texts come through no matter what I do via this app.

Can’t Report Anything. Looks like this app has been abandoned (almost a year without an update). It used to work but now you can’t even report messages. You get a screen with a “Report to TRAI” button and the form has nothing filled out. You can’t even fill out the form and the report button does nothing. Avoid at all costs!

ZERO STARS Like every other spam blocker..... It doesn’t work. It gives an option to add key words and I got a spam message from an unknown number with THREE of the blocked words in the message. I even paid the subscription. Apple needs to remove these apps as they are all frauds. I’m interested in knowing how they defend this fact. Seriously. Do not bother. There is no such thing as a spam blocker. NONE, not a single one works.

Could be better please fix bugs. I would gladly pay for the service this app offers if the free version of this app would work, but if the free version of this app doesn’t work why would I want to buy an app that is already broken. I continually get text messages from telemarketers, I always put just about every keyword that is within those texts and still I get text from the same telemarketers using the same keywords, if this is a bug the developer should fix it then I would consider buying it.

Love this app. It’s been said before but here I go anyways: FINALLY a spam blocker that actually works! I am so pleased with the results. I don’t have an Apple Watch but this works absolutely perfectly on my iPhone. It’s only been about a month but I’m finally seeing a fraction of the never-ending political spam texts that were driving me nuts 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 I expect that the results will be even better over time with the premium features and as I refine my whitelist and blacklist. Worth every penny! Thank you!!!

It works. I was skeptical, seeing all the reviews and having tried similar apps, but it has been working surprisingly well for me! Keep in mind that the people sending spam texts are crafty and will change their phrasing or the words they use from text to text, so you will need to keep updating your list to thwart them.

Doesn’t work at all as advertised. I get constant scam texts claiming to be AT&T offering gifts WITH a hyperlink. I have tried various combinations of keywords using the common phrases used “here’s a freebie” “here’s a little gift” etc. This doesn’t work even though the test function says it will be blocked when you copy/paste one of the spam texts. Also it should automatically block it because there’s a hyperlink and it doesn’t.

Great app!. This app is doing a great job so far. As long as I update the keywords, it efficiently moves spam messages and reduces annoying notifications. I did not try the paid version so I have no comment on it. However, the free version is the best app I used to stop spam messages.

Looks good but… !. Why… is the blindingly bright with dark mode enabled? And the App Store rate button is broken. Feels like an app without any dark mode, I often wonder how much the devs focus on it, and really want it to be the best.

Doesn’t work, period. It May have blocked a few words once or twice, but overall, doesn’t block any messages containing the key words that I put in. I even pasted the message into their “test” and I got the response that it would block those. Problem is, it didn’t. I’d say don’t waste your money, but it was free, and properly priced. That’s what it is worth. You get what you pay for.

Works as advertised on iOS 14. No problems. All the random spam texts are put in junk texts with no notifications.

Works Great. Received a new phone about a year ago from work and was having a problem with getting texts for personal loans. Was getting one or two texts a day for this and it became extremely annoying. Installed the app and the texts stopped immediately. Would definitely recommend this app for anyone who is having the same problem.

Crashes during intro screens. App crashes during the intro cards and I can’t dismiss them. edit: it seems it was only happening on a network where I was blocking ads

Stopped working. It worked great for a while but it now blocks nothing. Pasting texts into their tester claims it would be blocked but nothing is.

Not blocking spam texts. You are not blocking the spam tax that I’m getting. I got five so far today and each of them had the keyword that I put in your app to block.

Excellent cust support. I just not have set it up correctly and I reached out to the Developer for advice. He gave me 3 things to check. The first worked but a few still came through so it was time to do some evaluations with the beaker (top right corner) and voila! Keywords! Thank yiu so much!

Just what I needed. Fantastic App!. Filters all of my junk texts into a folder. No more annoying notification interruptions for junk. Previously I had copied pasted junk texts and reported them to Verizon to no avail, it seemed to make the junk come more frequently. So far after a month only one ‘good’ text was filtered as junk. Great app!

Download it. Worth the money. Excellent app. Has option to add words to black list and whitelist. Needs a little help early on. Once filters set correctly, works very well.

SPAM SMS notifications will still go to watch. Paid fee for premium to avoid the hassle of creating manual filters. A couple days later, the first SPAM text was filtered on the iPhone, but my Apple Watch still pinged with notification for the junk SMS. This defeats the purpose of getting the app. If the message is filtered on the phone, watch notifications should also be blocked.

It does work the other just didn't set it up. For filtering texts containing keywords it works perfectly. I'm guessing the other reviews who say it doesn't didn't read the instructions, turn on spam filtering in your iphone settings and select VeroSMS, that's it, works exactly as expected. One exception, due to apples processing here it only works with unknown contacts.

Works Very Well. I’ve been using the free version for some time now and I am super impressed. It’s not perfect, but it is much, much better than not having one at all. A lot of reviews point out some bugs that can’t be fixed, and people leave bad reviews for it. As an app developer, I just wanted to back up what the developer said. The downside to Apple’s walled garden is that it’s much harder to implement certain features. If Apple says no, there’s very little anyone can do about it. Regardless, I think it works very well and, if you get a bunch of spam texts, it’s well worth it.

Not relayed in description. Not described before downloading this App is the fact that I have to allow my Robokiller App to be turned OFF so I can enable this message blocking app. Nope. Won't do that; Robokiller works extremely well. Thumbs down. Sorry.

Broke. Can’t actually use this when you install it and open it it goes through a little multipage tutorial about how to add keywords to block and how to add keywords to the white list . At the bottom of each page is the next button when you get to the third page and you click the next button it shuts the app down. If you open the app again it starts the tutorial over. So the only thing I can do with this app is keep rereading the first three pages of the tutorial I can’t access anything else until I complete the tutorial and I can’t complete the tutorial. I did install the app so I could read a tutorial

Amazingly effective SMS spam filter. I added a second line to my phone with a different carrier to take advantage of both cell networks and started immediately getting loads of spam to that number. Added this app and all of that spam stopped. Miraculous!

Does what it says. It took me forever to find an app that actually blocks out what I tell it to. Link blocking and ML detection are also nice bonuses. Would recommend!

Love it!. After trying a few filtering apps that didn’t end up working, I tried this one. It works great. I was getting spam text messages addressed to specific people in the message, and with this app I’m now able to filter all those out when none of the other apps I tried were able to do that. Thank you VeroSMS!

Bug Report: Adding Keywords. Please fix the ability to see what you are typing when adding key words into your whitelist or block list. The only way to see what I typed is to submit it and delete if typed incorrectly. Having invisible text in text field is not cool!

VeroSMS gave me back my peace of mind.. I kept getting pornographic texts that kept getting worse and worse. When they started sending pictures I was horrified. I tried all the steps google and iPhone gave me to block them but they kept coming several times a day seems like everyday. Verosms puts them in a junk folder for me. I added the address of one of them to my block file. I thought I was going to have to do it all the time, one by one but Vero recognizes them all. Every now and then I check the junk mail folder and it’s all just junk. Thank you Vero. Those porno texts unnerved me and now I have my peace of mind again.

Still get blocked SMS on Watch. The developer emailed me back and said that there’s an Apple bug that prevents synced devices like the Apple Watch from blocking the SMS. So, it’s automatically moved to a junk folder on your phone and there is no notification for the spam message on your phone, but your watch will still get the notification. The app should have a disclaimer about this in the description because I would not have paid for this app’s premium features if I would have known about this issue that makes the app not function as advertised beforehand. Edit: Been using the app a few days and it IS nice that the spam message doesn’t show up on phone (but still notifies on the watch), so raising from 2 stars to 3.

It filters, but what’s the point?. This app seems to work fine for filtering messages into the “unknown “ tab but if you still get notifications and the messages aren’t marked as read, how does that help?

Really working. My mother was getting really annoyed by all of the spam messages she was receiving (especially the frequent notifications). She was starting to turn her phone ringer off at night, which was not good if we needed to contact her. I researched filtering options with her iPhone and with Verizon but didn’t find anything helpful. This app had a good rating so I installed it on her phone. It’s been on for about a week and so far is working very well. It’s easy to add whitelist and blacklist words to make sure that she’s getting all of the authentic messages and none of the spam. The only change I would make would be to add a “select all” option in the spam folder to make it easier to delete everything. Other than it is a great app and has made Mom’s life a lot less irritating.

No More Political Texts!. I was receiving 10+ political texts/day. Subscribing to the ML features immediately made them all stop. I haven’t had a junk text make it through the Vero filter in a week. Thank you for saving my sanity. I had to remove one crowdsourced whitelisted term (“help”), but that’s been it. The $3 fee is more than worth it and I appreciate this not being a subscription like so many other apps.

Great app, one suggestion for improvement. It would be amazing to see the app integrated with iOS’s SMS spam filtering built-in categories like promotional and transactional. Categories are available in selected countries only.

Fully Satisfied. 48hours experience on the free level. Seems 100% performance. Seems all I need but intend to go Premium as soon as I overcome my region payment hurdles. Though donno (yet) where the filtered out junk are accessed. Will try to figure out.

Amazing until like 3 months ago.. Literally this was the only thing keeping the spamming down...plus YouMail which helps with the spam calls. This app was amazing. I never pay for apps and I paid for this...I was losing my mind blocking spam texts until this app. But it has stopped working. All spam messages get through even those with crowdsourced keywords.

Doesn’t work. This app. Allows you to add words to a list. When one of those words is in a text, it’s supposed to block that text, but it doesn’t.I’m still getting text with the blocked text words on the list. My suggestion is to add blocked area codes to the list.

This is the best!. First, THANK YOU for letting us purchase the app. No monthly fee is huge. I didn’t bother testing subscription apps to find what I wanted. That is not the most important thing, of course. Adding keywords to the whitelist and blocklist is awesome. Crowdsourcing words to block - meh only because they block stuff I don’t; but, good way to remember all the terms when setting up. Would be cool to click a crowdsource word to add it to my white or blocklist. You can tap to report a word, which is great. I actually read the FAQ before asking a question and the answer was there. It would be cool if there were folders (appointments, etc). Hmm, I wonder if : can be whitelisted… Ok, this is a boring review. The app works well, not sure what else to say! No problems. Hopefully the low star reviews have been addressed…

Super app! Small feature request. App has been working great. The interface makes it very easy to test messages and add keywords. However, junk messages still show up as unread and show a badge on the messages app icon. Mine is pretty high because of all the junk in there. This means the unread messages count (red icon) has become useless. I can’t tell if I have any genuine unread messages that are not junk. The app would’l be useful if it marked all junk as read.

Works!!!!. I have never written a review in the past 8 years of having apple products. I was getting robotexts everyday, even sometimes at 4 in the morning. I blacklisted the name they kept saying, and it worked like a charm. Highly recommend!!

App works perfectly. I’ve been needing keyword-blocking for text messages for months. VeroSMS works perfectly. To be honest I only needed the basic free functionality, but it’s helped my sanity so much that I was happy to pay the small once-off upgrade as a thank you to the developer. My only regret is not looking for an app like this sooner.

Great app to filter out scam sms. Love the ease with which this app can be set up and just works seamlessly in the background, filtering nuisance sms messages. Support is also personal and issues resolved quickly. Try it - you won’t be disappointed.

Nice, but needs an update. Nice and helping app to get rid of the advertising messages. But it needs an update to fix the issue with 12.3.1 iOS update.

Works flawlessly. This app works , I had trouble with idiot telemarketer trying to offer business loans all the time , just put in a key word that you see in the text , a word that is not commonly used in a normal conversation, soon as any text comes in with that word it’s eliminated you don’t even hear it come in , like the word , funding , Business capital I would just use the word capital, there’s nobody would ever use it in a typical conversation, and that’s it silence and peace.

FINALLY!!. Somehow my number got into a database & I have been plagued by spam sms texts-sometimes 4/day! I have tried numerous text blockers (8 others to be exact) and NONE of them worked. Once I installed VeroSMS I haven’t gotten 1 spam text! Not ONE! I paid the $3 fee for the upgrade - worth every penny! Thank you Tanmay Sonawane for VeroSMS! UPDATE: Installed this app on 10/4/2020 and I have not gotten ONE spam text!! So very happy to be rid of one of life’s annoyances!! How is this not rated 5 stars all the way around?

Works well for me!. I tried about a half dozen different apps before this one and this is the only one that has worked correctly for me. I am using an iPhone 8 with the latest iOS (Dec 11 2019). App is working great right now. I no longer get hourly text messages to buy CBD gummies 😛!

Can’t activate ML filtering. Unfortunately, the premium feature for this app – the machine-learning filtering – cannot be activated on my iPhone S running IOS 11.4.

Scam??. Same exact day that I installed the app and gave it permission to read my text messages, and after I received a login verification text code from my bank, my online account was accessed and a digital check for $1,065 was issued. I can’t prove this app is the reason for me getting hacked, but it’s extremely suspicious. I deleted the app immediately. Don’t risk it!

How is this not 5 stars?. Holy smokes, this app changed the way I can use my phone. I got a new number/carrier recently and found out quickly that the iPhone junk blocker wasn’t filtering text messages properly—in other words, a huge headache. Since I can’t block all unknown senders for work purposes, I needed the blocklist/whitelist functionality that this app provides. I went from 5+ spam texts a day to zero (that I am notified of). If you can pinpoint a few words from unknown senders to block (blocklist) and retain (whitelist) and also turn on the junk filter in your iPhone settings, this will do the trick. For those who aren’t computer programmers looking for a saving grace but were disappointed, remember to be as specific and purposeful as possible when selecting these words (e.g., opt for whitelisting ‘Bank Name X’ as opposed to ‘code’, to keep certain words, or blocklisting ‘Not Your Name X’ as opposed to ‘free’ to block specific recurring words). I almost didn’t download this because of the reviews—so deceiving!

Question. Is there a way to filter by number? In particular I would like to block an area code that I get spam from, but never a legitimate message.

Junk app. All it does is send messages to the junk folder, a you still get notified that there is a message in your junk folder.
