This is the greatest app I never knew I needed. Okay, so admittedly I’m just being a goof right now with it. But I look forward to integrating Audiobus and various synth and guitar apps with it, and I’m hoping I can control it via BT4 or IK Blueboard. This would be amazing for live looping/sample triggering. Very well put together and stable for an initial release, and a steal at 2.99.

MUCH Potential... but not there yet.. I want to be clear, this is a great little app. I’m a fan of creative limitations (big fan of Koala and Samplr, both good examples of apps using minimalism, to create limitations in order to force the artist to be more creative, to literally think outside of the box. And that is why I purchased this app. As good as this app is I cannot deny that I am a little disappointed. I feel like the hype was a little bigger than the delivery. I want to be clear here I respect all the hard work that goes into making these apps. I’m not some kid who just fell off the turnip truck, I’m an audio professional and an artist. That being said, there are a couple of things that could really improve this. I would encourage the Dev to take a look at koala, there are some features there that would take this app to the next level. The ability to re-sample within the application being one of them, frankly being one of the main ones. It opens up an entire world of Soundesign. Also being able to control whether the sample is triggered as a gauge or one shot would be very helpful. And last but not least, just to teach touch deeper workflow and the audio editor in the clipboard would be fantastic. This app has the potential to be a game changer, will just have to see.

FUN, easy to use sampler. An easy to use and ingenious sampler. Love the intuitive nature of the editing. You’ll literally be up and running inside 10 minutes. Well worth it.

Excellent Sample pad app. This is one of those “does what is say on the tin” apps where straight of the box works with no fuss. Suggestion: Sample Edit Double sample (Double tapping sample with 2 fingers) This would make a copy of itself and double the size of the sample for longer play time live. Doing it again would also double etc..

I want a refund!. I wouldn't have bought this app if I knew it would be completely mic sounds! I want a refund! I thought there would be bass and other instruments as demonstrated in the preview video. Disappointed!

Broken - Lost All Work. Samplebot no longer runs on my iPad Pro. It shuts down as soon as it tries to initialize. I have lost a whole slew of one of a kind samples and a song I can never get back. My advice (if your copy is working), is to get your project out of Samplebot as soon as you can, or you might lose everything. Not only have I lost all my work, but the program no longer works. Yes I’m running the latest ios, blah, blah, blah. Seriously bummed! I changed the rating on this app because I actually really like the app, it’s just that I lost all my work. I had a similar experience with another app recently, so it makes me think it has more to do with updates on the iPad and glitches rather than the app itself.

Perfect for Sketching Out Musical Ideas. Wow. This app is fantastic. Love the Sampling engine, it crops the samples automatically (and allows for further, personalize customization of each sample. The sequencer grid is also a hugely welcome feature, and sets this apart from Loopy without a doubt. My only complaint is that I have a hard time zooming in and out, and with moving the looped section around. Not enough of an issue to take it down to 4 stars, though.

A few more options and this would go from toy->tool. I LOVE the way that pads and recording are unified into one interface. Tapping a blank pad to record / swiping the pad to edit and delete is an excellent paradigm. Two immediate things that would turn this into a real tool: -mute/choke groups -toggle sample playback between one shot / hold Would be nice to have: -eq/filtering on pads -reverse -loop sound by holding down pad -basic adsr envelope for sample amplitude Much more than that and the beautiful simplicity might be lost I look forward to updates!

Elegant UI For Sampling And Beatmaking. Samplebot records samples one sample at a time, just like the rest of the samplers. Except once the samples are loaded it makes gold records. A lot can be said for a simple User Interface that gets the job done without being confusing. For the price I’m amazed it comes with a sequencer and sample trimmer. Many of the big DAW/iOS developers have yet to release a competing sampler that offers the basic functionality and ease-of-use of Samplebot.

Absolutely Awesome!!!. I love your sample, with its built in sequencer...I wouldn't mind paying for further development of it-say, with the ability to have more surfaces to record onto, and perhaps to release/quick end the sample playing with removal of touch, instead of it running its full length/coarse with a press-maybe velocity sensitivity (volume up down individually depending on where in the square you touch ,and holds raise and lower the performance volumes etc..?) ultimately, if you could incorporate a sampler keyboard/a layover or keyboard buttons instead of blocks, and the ability to multi-sample one sound according to a scheme or design such as lowering raising pitch etc... There's a thorough lack of decent samplers on the store which can sample both externally and internally any sound, then creating a user scheme with the chosen sound and sample slices etc... It would be easily worth quite a bit more especially nowadays with Apple Music software and music creation software, synths, and especially in the area of tools developed with a high usability for diverse music creation purposes according to user end input and self implementation/tailoring for whatever a musician might think of using tools such as these...

Fun Fun FUN!. Holy cow this thing is a blast for quickie music making on the go - record samples on the fly with your microphone, do some trimming and jam away! Also plays nice with AudioShare and other apps for more serious music making if you want to go that route. :)

Great songwriting tool!. I love to use Samplebot for songwriting, recording verses, choruses, etc in the blocks. Dream come true!

Not bad.. Simple reverb and delay would make this 5 stars nice easy UI though 💪🏼

Wonderful sampler and great fun. I cannot believe the low ratings this app has gotten. It is called Samplebot. You make your own samples and get creative. You can also import sounds from AudioShare. It’s amazing and a joy to play with. Great way to quickly play with new musical ideas.

Doesn't work. I downloaded the app watch the tutorials and it still doesn't work! I want my money back....

Very nice app. Just getting started, but so far really liking this app. One issue - when using a loop, if I mute a track, the tracks gets unmuted as soon as the track loops back to the beginning. I would like to be able to keep the looping track muted until I want to unmute it.

Nice But????. We need the ability to chop samples and also stem separation time shift and pitch bend

Sampler with Grid Editor. The ability to record sounds on the fly to pads, to edit the sounds (you can zoom way in), and to copy/paste them on the grid gives a lot of flexibility. The variety of drum grooves built into the app can you be used with your sounds to get a beat going. With Audiobus 3 and IAA support you can combine Samplebot with other apps or record output from other apps into the Samplebot pads. The ability to zoom in on the grid and shorten the length of the regions on grid adds another layer of options to explore. The ability to loop a section of the timeline and record into the grid makes adding to your project a breeze. Naming the pads allows you to easily keep track of the sounds you're working with. The ability to time stretch is also a nice feature of the app. In many ways, Samplebot is like a mini DAW. You can also set the pan and volume level of each pad so you can control where the different sounds are in the stereo sound stage.

Great sampler!. Needed a sampler with midi, sorted! Coming from iMaschine (loveit, but no midi, btw that's dumb NI, i don't want your hardware). I use with a bluetooth connected Akai LPD 8 on my iPhone. Thank you!

Fantastic!. I love this app and Loopy HD both. Love the simple, clean interface and ease of use. It’s my go to sampler on my iPhone and the very good sequencer is a total bonus. Appreciate the midi control as well! One thing I would love to see in a future update would be a few more effects beyond pitch and speed, like maybe an applicable bitcrusher, reverb and delay to any assigned sample and/or drum parts. That’d make it a classic imo.

Excellent, needs some small fixes. I really love this app. Its easy to use, it responds and records quickly, and it is not complicated. My only concerns are the quantization occasionally moves the note where I don't want them (perhaps I need to be more accurate), but the biggest issue is it is incredibly difficult to maneuver the editor. The selector works alright, but zooming in and out is nearly impossible, and I end up moving notes when I don't want to. Also, the undo button is not obvious, and I never know if I accidentally moved something whether I will undo a mistake or a purposeful change. Its infuriating. If you can get by that, it is a fantastic app. For those of you wondering, you can import voice memo recordings by going into the apple recording app and hitting the share button.

Really great!. Yes big improvements in the ability to import audio into the app and quickly and easily edit, trim and setup the samples. Really great!

Needs work. What idiot programmes an application where the wave editor takes only some of the screen instead utilising entire screen so that we can edit the track better. Imagine the genius who decided to do that. It’s obviously someone who never edited anything hence doesn’t realise the importance of space with these things. You can only place samples that start from beginning. U cannot play sample (once u place it) from specific parts, it always plays from beginning which is very limiting. So all you can do is to cut the end or completely design a new sample that will have that desired part playing. Tedious. Not easy to create loops as they are never cut properly because wave is described as bars which makes it visually inaccurate. When u are trying to make a loop in editor it only plays once. Terrible. It should play in a loop so that u can cut the sample properly and hear the result whilst u are doing it. But no, the genius thought it should only play once in the wave editor. So you have to press play again and again hoping that once u have the final cut, it will sound like a perfect loop which is very unlikely. Works terrible when you are trying to take loops from songs. Zoom in and zoom out gesture in wave editor is inconvenient. It gives u the whole track so you have to always zoom out a lot to get to a normal 16 beats kinda length that everyone always normally plays around with. There is not really much you can do in their wave editor. Volume, pitch, speed (useless function) and balance. That’s it. There is no even a fade out, or fade in, echo or anything like that. Very dull and basic. There was so much potential and they just delivered a lazy sampler for amateur kids who like to show their momma how they recorded voices or some sound and can play them over and over again. Get real...

No itunes sample import visible. Apps says sample import available and allows transfer from itunes but there is no way visible to then import them in the app. Very frustrating and still there is no manual available to clarify the situation! Why release an app without a manual or missing a key feature described?

Just what I was after!. Simple to use but powerful! Help menu is found via the new project screen if you haven’t figured it out. Explains how to import samples for those complaining it doesn’t.

Can't save the recording anywhere... The app is cool, spent ages on it then tried to save my recording and it doesn't save anywhere, I've tried messaging it to myself, uploading it to Dropbox.. I wanted to put the sounds over videos for Instagram..waste of $5 :(

Six out of Five. March 2018. I was looking for an app to sample various sounds around me and turn them into beats. I used to enjoy Beatmaker until it stopped working. Tried a few others. This is the one. Recording samples and making tracks is very easy. Loved being able to trim the clips instantly and modify volume. Some unexpected (good) surprises were the prebuilt library for the percussion tracks in the timeline editor, and being able to load clips from either the clipboard or Dropbox. The only feature I could wish for is being able to swap the samples of two buttons quickly. (It is still possible to do this using cut and paste, but takes effort.) Thanks Tasty Pixel!

Amazing. This is the greatest app of all time! So fun and easy to create and so much extra functionality. Also very fun to annoy your family with. Or make music whatever you like ;)

Great fun. It looks fairly simple, and fun to just play with the samples on the main screen. But there is more going on underneath, so watch the tutorials to find out how to create patterns, etc. Could use more implementation, but this looks to be a first iteration so probably more to come as time allows.

fast sampling. If u like sampling on the fly, this one is hard to beat for it’s immediacy. Perfect for live jamming.
