Excellent app for song writers and poets. I love the intuitive interface of this app for song writers. This is just what I was looking for to help organize songs and poems I’m writing. I love the ideas section that suggests words that rhyme, phrases, etc., for the lyrics.

Neat-O. It helped me get over the dreaded writers block, which is all I could ask for. It also keeps all my lyrics and chords organized, so It’s definitely going to have a permanent stay on my phone.

Good but limited. I live this app. That said, I do find it limits my way of writing as I use the app primarily on the go jut when I am home, I use a computer. I wish there was an option for a desktop app or site where I could sync from my desktop or laptop. Now I use another desktop program and duplicate my work. Still, very useful while on the go.

It's a great app.. It's a great app, maybe not worth the price. It's high quality, but full of bugs and glitches that make me use Rhymers' Block instead. Also, it forced me to review, so yeah. It will randomly jump to the App Store. I want to use the app so much, but this small problem prevents me from doing so effectively.

Great Customer Service. Update: Songwriter Pro App. Five Stars. I've been a Songwriter Pro user for years, and after a recent update led to the app crashing on my phone, one of the two founders / owners of Songwriter Pro personally reached out to address the issue. This company is run by musicians, and they get it. Their dedication to resolving problems and regular follow-ups impressed me. In a digital age, the personal touch stood out, making me value Songwriter Pro even more. If I could, I'd give them 10 stars. To everyone on the leadership team at Songwriter Pro, thank you. Your personal touch and commitment to musicians mean a lot to me. I'm delighted that all my songs are intact on the newly improved app. Grateful for your dedication!

Crash on start. From the looks of it, this looks like it used to be a great app. Was really looking forward to using it for my songwriting. Saw a lot of great reviews and decided to give it a shot. But after purchasing and opening the app, it just crashes. I understand that this stems from compatibility issues with iOS 13, and I’m sure the developer does not have a whole team behind him/her so it’s understandable that it’s taking longer to fix it. I get that, and I’m not going to give them crap about that. But I do think it’s irresponsible to leave this app up on the App Store and continue to accept new purchases knowing that it just doesn’t work. I was issued a refund, but I’d be willing to try this app out again in the future if things are fixed.

Big fan of this app!... however,. Been using this app to write songs, log riff ideas, and jot down general production notes for about a year, and it’s worked out great... until the redesign a month or so ago. Now, any individual song tab that had more than one recorded file attached to it has corrupted the audio data, and i’ve lost the majority of them. I do genuinely like the new interface, and would like to keep using it in the future should the issue be fixed, but this is really unfortunate.

Amazing App and Amazing Support. I lost access to my account therefore losing access to all my music and I was devastated. Luckily the support team is amazing and helped me recover all my data efficiently and effectively. Hence the title amazing app and amazing support team!

Why must you update to destroy your app. Every few weeks they update the app to destroy it. Just now it’s taking over an hour to update the app. There are massive games with much more IP and advanced programming yet this takes more time to update. Terrible product due to incompetent updates and unrealistic updates not worth your time

Glitchy. Tried doing a couple of things like airdrop to another device and it’s difficult to open the files with the second device. It kept crashing on me earlier. When I tried to give feedback the in-app buttons to make suggestions didn’t work. I already stopped using it and switched to the free version of Evernote. This app is a good idea, but it’s a long way from doing what I had wanted and expected.

Make ideas hiddens by default!. Please fix it to where those stupid ideas aren’t always popping up every time I wanna write. Make it hidden by default and then if we want to use it we can show them. Please please please add this.

Unable to access account on other devices. I created an account since I use both my iPad and iPhone. I am not able to access all of my songs on my devices. I use my iPhone, then I am not able to access them on my iPad, and vice versa. What is the point of setting up an account. I have wasted my money and have to purchase another app. It was a waste of time and money getting this app!

VERY FRUSTRATED!!!. I just bought the pro version of this app. Excited to have finally found one app that I can do my vocal recording idea while the backing instrumental is playing as well. Well I’m FRUSTRATED because I spent money on an app that I am not even able to open up to try out. I TRUSTED that this would function properly but instead it won’t even open. At ALL. I’ll click on the icon, the wallpaper screen would pop up. Then the whole app crashes. I tried it 5 times. Then un installed it. Re installed it. Same thing happened. Closed the app in the background then turned my phone completely off for 20 seconds. Phone turned back on...SAME THING! App crashes. I’m really irritated. I need someone to do SOMETHING about this. I’m not kidding.

MUCH better than using multiple apps.. Voice Memo, Notes/lyrics, Rhyme generator and MORE! Love it!. I had always used the notes app to quickly write lyrics and ideas, and then i would use the voice memo to record scratch recordings, but this app has that all and MORE! Thanks for such a great app for songwriting on the go!

Backup doesn’t work. I made an account and everything but I noticed a weird glitch where under my song it said “created on Not Available” Thought it was weird so I decided to delete and redownload to see what would happen. Thank god I exported my songs right before because when I logged back in all of the songs were gone. What’s even the point of making the account then. But other than that good app. Just kind of has a lot of glitches. Really just in need of an update, it’s been over a year

The best out there. Keeps all your songs and lyrics. It gives suggestions for simple song lyrics in a very simple way. Great layout that looks professional. Love it.

Great, but has a few bugs. Overall I like this app. It’s got a nice, aesthetically pleasing interface that is easy to use. It allows rearrangement of sections of the song, such as verses. It’s possible to group songs into folders (personally I use this for albums). I’ve found a lot of good use in it and plan on using it for a long time. The only drawback that I see so far is a little bug that messes things up when I try to rearrange the order of songs within a folder. For example, if I move song 3 to the top of the list, and then open it, song 3 will not open; song 1 will (which was previously in the top position) even though I selected “song 3” from the list. And when I exit song 1, the list has returned to its previous order (with song 1 on top). Anyway, that’s not that big of a deal to me, but it is a little annoying. Other than that it’s been great for me. The only other suggestion that I have is this: I wish there was a way to have the app automatically play back-to-back the audio from each section within a song - I don’t want to have to press play on verse two when chorus one ends, etc.

Best for flow. Coming from someone who writes most lyrics and melodies between notes and voice memos, I was excited to find an app that combines the two. The interface is quick and easy to work with, and it’s proven stable enough for me to move my latest songs over. With those extra tools for ideas, now I have no excuses left not finish those songs. Happy writing!

Good but sometimes in reliable. I like the app it’s very useful I’ve had it for maybe 2 years now and it’s worked very well for me but I’m the last 6 months it has signed me out so many times and claimed my account doesn’t exist I’ve been able to recover the account a couple of times but this time I’m just done with it I’d rather use good docs and other websites so I can save my music and not have it at risk every time it decides to crash on my phone

Accidentally deleted song. I wrote a full song on the app accidentally deleted it and can’t bring it back. I’m super bummed please give an option to undo a mistake cuz I have lost a whole song. I thought I was changing the name instead it deleted my whole song. I love this app but I wish there was an undo button.

Amazing songwriting app. I love using this app to write songs, it helps me get creative and offers many resources when I am writing my music. 10/10 would recommend!

Hands down, best song writing app. I'm a musician, and this is the perfect app for musicians on the go. Hands down, it has the best interface for any app songwriters and it keeps me SO organized! Sync. Wondering if I am missing if it’s possible to sync through Icloud between my ipad and iPhone so I can add when a idea occurs to me whenever. Other than that I like this app.

This is a great app!. But what’s even better than it being a great app is that, when I had a technical problem, which is expected in any app, they quickly answered my email with organized, clear instructions that quickly and thoroughly corrected my issue. Great tech support and customer service is hard to come by. Songwriter Pro easily gets 5 Stars.

Lost all songs. No support. Wouldn’t let me create an account. Said my email was already in use... when I tried to reset a password (that I never had since I never made an account), it reset but then claimed my email didn’t have an account attached to it. When I tried to contact support, there was a dead link. I also tried to just make a new account, and ALL the songs were gone. This is a joke.

Excellent!!. I’m extremely impressed with this app so far! Over the years my songwriting has consisted of several parts...recording videos (just for audio) of guitar ideas or vocal melodies, using Microsoft Word to write any lyrics, opening dictionary apps and other word apps to help with writing, saving all this stuff individually to iCloud and Dropbox. I can now do ALL of these things in one place! So much more efficient. Plus, I believe this will help me write more consistently. Are there tiny improvements I’d like to see...of course. But the team seems very willing to help. Don’t waste your time looking at other songwriting apps...if you’re serious about your music (and your songwriting process is similar to mine) buy this right now. It’s definitely worth the money!

Signed Me Out. I’ve been using this app to record and write songs since the beginning of 2021. After I started using it I never used any other apps. Today I went in trying to write another song and I was logged out. I couldn’t remember my password so I tried to reset it and although I was using special characters it wouldn’t let me reset. I have 30+ songs written. Some from earlier than 2021. So this feels like a smack in the face.

HELP!!!. It randomly logged me out and it’s been over a year since I signed in the first and only time. I have so much music on that account. Please help me. I’m in a panic right now because I have so many completely finished songs on the app that I haven’t recorded yet and I just need to be able to have them back. Please. I’ll do absolutely anything. I love this app but I just can’t can’t can’t lose everything I’ve written. Please help me.

Lost 50 songs...I thought.. The app auto-updated and now requires an account to be set up, meaning there is no way to access all of my work. It doesn’t recognize any of my email addresses, because before this update there was no login. UPDATE: After I created an account and logged in, all of my songs were there... feel a bit dumb, but massively relieved. Hope this review helps any others in the same boat

Used to be good.. This app used to be good before it had the monthly membership option and started trying to advertise it all the time. Also certain features that were part of the app before were turned into features only available to this new monthly membership. When you go to write a song the list of options shows you all of them including the ones only available with the membership which used to be free.

Excellent app for writing songs. I write songs all the time. Typically I’d have to pull out my computer if I wanted to get something productive done, but this app enables me to be a productive musician on the go. Sure, it’s no Logic Pro, but it’s a very capable on-the-go musician’s friend.

App Update Destroyed Files. A few months ago, they updated their app. I had dozens of audio files uploaded and recorded into the app that all got corrupted when they released the update. They’re gone forever. Deleted entirely from the app and from their content management system. The update corrupted my files in such a way that they can never be recovered by myself or by their team of developers. I have countless songs, ideas, melodies, choruses and lyrics that are completely erased now. Such a huge bummer. On a more positive note, their customer service rep was very kind and understanding in the process. They responded with empathy and compassion. However, they were entirely unable to amend the error.

Awesome but could be great!. I love this app and use it daily. I even gifted it to a cpl people I write with. Here’s what can make this app great: 1) a way to collaborate with another person so you can write in real-time together. Like google docs. 2) under the chord feature it needs a single piano so you can hear the chords, then pick what fits your songs for people not well versed in theory.. Other than that.. it’s an awesome app for a writer

Awesome app!. This app has been incredibly useful so far (THANK YOU FOR REMOVING THE SONG BLOCKS OMG) and I plan to use it for years to come! I do have one small feature request, and that is to be able to reorder my folders. As of right now I can’t seem to find any way to do that. I’d like to be able to keep all of my current projects in a place where I can access them easier and not just add on to the end of the line of folders!

Almost perfect - need more "basic" Studio friendly features and it will be more useful. I use this as a starting point for a lot of my songwriting. I find it to work very well with my workflow and undistracting when writing (perfect). Some of the features in the ideas tab are nice to have, however not typically utilized by me - still well implemented. The part where I switch off is when I want to layer multiple ideas on top of another. The app is awesome for sketching ideas and the "chunks" of a song, but when you want to begin to layer voices, instruments, etc. to get an idea of the embellishments you desire in a song, it loses its functionality. This is when I turn to another app where you can do all of these things. It would be nice to see some minor mixing/multitrack features implemented when most of the writing of your song is done and you want to enter the second phase of building. This by no means has to be overly complicated, but it would greatly improve this app in my opinion. A lot of the apps that do have multitrack g/mixing are beginning to enter the realm of songwriting/structure building, like Trackd, and it may only be a matter of time before I make the ultimate switch away from this app if it doesn't continue to improve. If the developers are reading this. Please...please at least just allow me to SCRUB audio takes so I don't have to listen to the full clip every time I need to hear it back!

Long gone are the old ways, and good riddance !. I spent over fifty years keeping a pencil and paper close at hand, and that’s a pain, a nuisance at best. Not to mention the untold melodies lost for lack of a simple and quick way to record them, when they should come to me. No more having to carry bits and pieces of paper around in my pockets, trying to decipher my shorthand, misspelled words written in a combination of Cursive and printing using both upper and lower case letters. If you’re any kind of writer, aspiring or not, do yourself a favor and download this app. If you never know how much it helps you, then that’s a good thing !!!

Great App/Even better owners. First, the app is great for lyrics and songwriting...but that should always be obvious, given it’s nature. It has many useful tools incorporated to help you choose mood along with rhyming assistance. You can also capture the key, date of origin, composer info, all along with many other helpful subtleties that other apps do not offer. Second, I had to contact their customer support over some issues I was experiencing (ended up truly being my own fault); however one of the owners contacted me directly and ensured that my concerns where not only managed...but heard. He took the time to show his empathy and realized (along with compassion) that my songwriting is used for my mental/emotional therapy. He didn’t have to. I’ll repeat that again...he didn’t have to. We live in a world with a lot of reoccurring dismissiveness. But he slowed down and cared. I’ll forever use their app. Mainly because of their character, and then subsequently the usefulness of the app.

Great customer service. Latest update had my files missing but customer support got then back for me. Great overall. Would be amazing if app worked for Spanish speaking songwriters but currently it does not.

Was working great, now not working at all. The app has been my favorite, now wont come up needs an update or you’ll lose songs. Maybe be care about using cause you might lose hit songs with this.

Handheld studio. I've always used my phone for songwriting. Every time I would get a new mobile device, I would have to recreate my on the go "studio" with a separate note app and another app for recording, and always have to jump between the two. It's all in one place on the same page with this app. Super useful and I love the hell out of it.

iCloud or Dropbox sync?. This app almost solves every issue I’ve had with similar songwriter apps. But will there ever be Dropbox or iCloud sync support? The fear of losing songs if I lose my phone is real! Otherwise this’ll do just about whatever you need for keeping a songwriting notebook

Total Crap. Save your money.. TERRIBLE FOR SONGWRITING! If you think you're getting an app like "Master Writer" for iPad, think again. Not even close. So off putting that you can't concentrate on your song. Cant use a external keyboard with it. I can think of more word ideas in my brain than this thing offers. Unless you're a complete idiot and can't think for yourself that you need the VERY LIMITED amount of word ideas this provides, you're better off with a simple pad and pen. This is by no means a substitute for a REAL thesaurus and rhyming dictionary if you're thinking of using this for songwriting purposes. Before you buy this, look at the pictures first and just realize THAT's ALL you're getting. Nothing more. It looks very simple because there's nothing to it. It doesn't rotate and FORCES you to use it in portrait view (which I hate) it's completely useless to me. Needless to say I just bought it and I already wish I hadn't. I can't believe this has THIS MANY 5 star ratings. Must be fake.

Impressive. So impressed with this app! This works so much better than my notebook to keep my thoughts organized and gives me extra tools for my songwriting. With this, I only need one tool!

Why is it forcing me to sign in?. Haven’t used this app for a while now, but I don’t remember having to sign in when I purchased this app. Either way, why do I have to sign in just to use this app???? I get it if it allows you to save in your server, but that’s not what I want. Update: still, should be included as an option. If writers want access to anything that requires it to be online then they can log in, else skip. I thought of this app as a writer tool, like a notepad for song writers, quick easy access, offline, not worrying if you’re in a location with poor signal, ect.. some prefer things locally, so if stored on the phone signing shouldn't be needed, backup or syncing is great but should be an option.

Crashes instantly every time. I just paid $3.99 for this app and upon launching it for the first time, it crashed instantly. It crashes at the launch screen literally every time and is TOTALLY USELESS! I DEMAND A REFUND!

Deleted everything. This app just updated and deleted dozens of songs I was in the process of writing. Unreal. Like a years worth of work down the drain because of this app.

FYI: App is crashing-will not open. Totally disappointed that I just bought this app for my IPad PRO, and it refuses to open. It just crashes immediately. I hope this gets fixed soon. I assume it will, considering its a 4.5 outta 5 star app, with seemingly proactive developer responses.

Extreme upset user!!!. The app did an automatic update and suddenly I had to log in which I’ve never done since I’ve had the app on top of the app deleted every single song I wrote and recorded in it! VERY UNHAPPY!!!!

Poorly designed app, do not buy. I was intrigued by the screenshots and decided to download this app but I found it useless once I started using it. If you enter a word you will get back a list of no more than 10 rhyming words (3.99 for this????) and then it’s utterly confusing to find a way to move this rhyme to your song. Highly disappointed!!

This App is horrible. I would give this app zero stars if I could. Song lyrics have deleted on there own, not once or twice, but on multiple occasions. Decided I cannot continue using. Make sure your song lyrics are saved elsewhere, or you will screwed.

Save your money 😕. I paid for the app but didn't even get a chance to use it, the app won't even load every time I press on it to attempt to use the app it glitches and takes me right back to my home screen. I was looking forward to using it as well but I guess I could find another app I just want my money back.

Not a safe place to keep ideas. Long story short, this app just automatically updated and I lost Everything I was working on inside this app. No features this app could ever offer balances out this fatal flaw.

Caution: Portrait mode only. I should have noticed that all of the screenshots were in portrait orientation. Huge disappointment for me, what were they thinking? It’s a writing app, input is by typing... who on this planet wants to type on the narrow constricted portrait-mode keyboard? Makes an otherwise way-cool app useless.

No landscape view and no customer service. I bought this in hopes of using it with my iPad and the apple keyboard that connects to it. There is no landscape view which is worthless to me and then when I emailed their customer service about it I received no response. Don’t waste your money

Lost 4 years worth of Work. Bought the pro version in 2020, had to sell the iPad. When I brought a new one and logged in again, the app doesn’t have any record of my songs. And support cannot recover it. Use paper and pen, instead of this app.

Simplicity. This app makes things really simple. Someone to create and begin writing a song. I use this all the time because writing and producing music is my passion. Great app!

Can’t Launch. I just purchased this app because it looks to be exactly the app I‘be been looking for. However, each time I launch the app it immediately closes (on both iPad and iPhone). I’ll happily change my rating and review if a timely update fixes the issue.

Lost. This app is going places. If they deal with the issues the app has, they will prosper. Make it more simpler to click around. Felt as if was getting lost in the app with so many things running in the background.

It’s one of the better song writing apps. I think that the set up and the organization is good there are a few things I would like to see on gutter updates. Blue tooth headphone compatibility and there are a few bugs with uploading the song files. It can be slow to play the file. It needs to be more integrated in the app like playing everywhere including when the app is in the background. The word ideas needs to be easy to look up definitions of words and show words that rhyme just by clicking the word. I don't think that rhymes should be in Its own box, I think that it should have a button or automatically just pop up when clicking the word and having a button to switch in between definitions/rhymes to easily be seen from anywhere that I am writing text. Like when im working on my lyrics in the notepad what ever word that my cursor is touching I can pull out a sidebar or pop up a box that I can see the definitions or rhymes or synonyms/ antonyms etc. Take away the x button on the words I have saved for ideas and put an edit button instead so i can clean up when I need to and not accedently delete words when clicking them. Also a recycling bin just in case if I do I can easily get it back. When looking up phrases or words by emotion it would be nice to be able to press the emotion and it randomly picks a word and keeps doing it everytime I press it. If I want to scroll through I can see them alphabetically and if I want it randomized click the emotion button. Editing should be simplistic and quick to choose if needed. With audio or text etc. C

Won’t open. Just bought the app but it opens a splash page and closes right away. Using IOS 13.1.2. Thanks

Do not purchase.. If I could make this zero stars I would. The last update wiped out a year of lyrics and hard work and now my account “doesn’t exist”. Horrible horrible product. I am so incredibly angry.

Where’s my songs at?!?!?. I lost my old phone and just signed in a new phone and none of my songs/notes are here!! What do I do?

Best song writing application. Love this. All the other apps are out of date, this app makes writing songs so much more organized.

Dark mode. Love the app, only thing missing is dark mode for the song writing page. I write at night and the bright white kills my eyes.

Doesn’t even start up. I paid the four bucks and downloaded it and clicked the icon and it immediately crashes. Not cool.
