Legit tool for musicians and engineering.. This was my idea for an app years ago, so bravo and enjoy folks~

It doesn't work. Even when I played really slow it said it was at 112.

A Must Have For Any Musician. Super accurate and easy to use! Was skeptical but after testing the app it is spot-on. Could not be happier!

Get for keeping in time. This app helps you maintain a consistent tempo or reach and stay with a target tempo Why did it take so long for someone to figure this out I bet the developer is s musician who uses it too

Amazing app. This app is great and easy to use! Even for beginners like me.

Worked Great. Only used this once so far, but plan to keep it as part of my gig setup. Today was an acoustic gig with me on cajon. Tempi did a great job of reading our live tempo. We tend to rush a bit we get louder so it was good to see that feedback so I could work on keeping the band on pace. Don’t try to over correct too quickly, that will just sound bad. Love the app. Sound quality wasn’t great but it was right by me and not my top need. Also would love to have access to the tempo chart you see live when save a song/performance.

Lame. Its lame it doesn’t record longer than 30 seconds.

Slow, wouldn’t pay after the free trial.. Doesn’t work that well. I would never pay to use this app.

Can’t beat it ha ha. Great little app. As a drummer, I start recording starting a song and watch the tempo as the band works through it. Very responsive and applicable.

Every Drummer should have this.. I use this live every night to make sure my tempos are right to match up with any sequenced phrases that I use during the night. Also, if anyone in the band says “you’re playing too fast” or “too slow” I can check to make sure my tempo is the same as it was the night before and the night before that. If this were a standalone piece of hardware, with a count off feature, every drummer would buy it.

Big help. Open this app and set your phone on the floor tom...boom, you're a better drummer.

Tempi Beat Detector. Very nice product. I play guitar without a drummer (fingerpick and strum mostly) and it seems to be pretty accurate. As I tend to speed up during a performance, I suggest adding a visual bar across the screen that changes color if I slow down or speed up outside of a predetermined BPM. For example, if it is red I need to speed up, if green I am within an acceptable range of BPM, and if blue I need to slow down. That would be much easier and quicker to interpret if using at practice or on stage. I did suggest this as an improvement through the app's "Contact Us" link. If you like the idea, please let them know.

Find something else. The manual tapping feature is terrible. I mean it does get you close I guess. But I can do that by listening. I want the app to tell me exact. Also the listening feature doesn’t know what sounds it’s listening too and the tempo can change from 110 to 87 just because they hit a drum twice or sing more syllables in a measure. I’ll find something else.

Idea! Musicians would love it if..... If there was an option for routing the apps bpm info into a wireless mixer app (like the xr18) so the reverb and delay plugins could sync up that would be an awesome feature for live gigs Linear graph showing tempo fluctuations throughout the song is an awesome visual tool. 🏆 thank you

Super cool and helpful. Used this to help with my own playing and as a band. Definitely zeros in on the trouble spots with a friendly interface. Great way to get better time.

It Can’t Understand Syncopation. It’s recording the tempo all over the place. I tested it against a professional recording “ Gerald Albright Live: Round Midnight “ on YouTube. I tested on a professional recording because using during church band practice I got such varying tempo that were very extreme. I got a readings from 62, 61, 86, 82 ,110,76 so something is terribly wrong. Please help me understand the problem please or I need to delete it and quit getting on the guys in the band. Wonderful idea wish it would work.

Awesome app. About time someone thought of this! Lets your band play at your speed but also lets you work on not speeding up during your songs. And not burdened with a bunch of the silly “features” that app designers always seem to feel the need to include to obscure what was originally a good idea. Nice work! Keep it simple! The next step in the evolution of the metronome is finally here.

Like a stern music teacher (in a good way). Keeps me on beat, like a maestro looking over my shoulder ready to whack me with his baton. Also: messing around with turntables for beat matching. Lots to explore. Sensitivity and responsiveness is on point. Well done!

Drummer gospel band. This app is amazing, get tons of compliments while using it in live situations!

Nice idea, but…. It doesn’t work. Placed phone right next to drum kit playing snare only and it wasn’t anywhere in the ballpark. Was playing 90 bpm and it registered as 118. Slowed playing down to 65 and it registered as 127. Sped up and it was up and down from 72 to 110. Played a song from YouTube and it was all over the place on a simple steady beat. Not sure if something changed recently or if it’s related to phone hardware or OS version. I’m on a 13 Pro using iOS 15.5. Plenty of good reviews on here so I’m just surprised it works so poorly. Waste of $6 🙄

Simple but effective. Never had a great way to visualize my ability to stay on tempo. Tempi is a nice tool to help internalize a tempo by seeing it charted out as you play. Keep it up!

Great idea for an app!. This app is perfect for both beginning and experienced musicians and everyone in between. You play and it gives you the bpm average and shows you where you speed up and slow down. The free version lets you record 30 seconds of music. I'd like to see the free version let you record a little longer. But the in app purchases are reasonably priced.

Sweet. Nicely designed app!

Great for the Basics. This is a great concept, and it works most of the time. I will say that once you get into more advanced rhythms, this will not be accurate. I teach a drumline, and there are definitely limits to what this app can do; however, it comes in very handy for helping newer members get eighth and sixteenth note patterns in time when practicing on their own.

Great for classical music. I play piano, and I freely admit that my taste runs towards the melodramatic. Think lots of Rachmaninoff, with lots of rubato which may or may not be in the best of taste! Between the rubato and the frequent tempo changes Rachmaninoff likes to throw at you, it makes practicing with a metronome pretty difficult. Not only do you have to reset the metronome 3x a page in places, you also have to somehow get back with the metronome after a temporary slow down. So mostly I don't bother, but every now and again I wonder if I'm playing anywhere close to the marked tempo. This app takes care of all of that for you. You just do you, and it will let you know, ok, here you were at 120, then for 2 measures you were at 85, then back up to 140, etc. It was really quite enlightening, and so easy to use! I will definitely use this from now on.

Amazing!. This little app does what my expensive audio and video editing software does not: It accurately detects beats per minute. For a (non-musician) video editor who has struggled with timing clips to music for years, Tempi is a miracle. I’m now freed from the endless cycle of tapping out the beat, timing the clip, getting it wrong, tapping, re-timing the clip… Thank you!

Great app! A coupla suggestions... I am a pro drummer and have used this app in performance quite a bit. It is a great safety net and really helps to me to feel solid in a very natural way. My time feels much more consistent and confident after when I remove it from the equation as well! I have a few minor suggestions, but bravo on what has become one of my most efficient tools! I only have a couple minor suggestions. I love that it records, but it would be great to have the option to not record. Recording drains the battery very quickly, thus making it unusable for longer recordings if you cannot plug in your device. Also, it would be amazing to be able to minimize the app while being able to use another app simultaneously. ie. sheet music app, fourscore, etc. I recommend it to my students and colleagues. People are always amazed and wonder why they have never heard of it! As is, it is still incredible and I will continue to utilize and recommend it to anyone that may benefit. Thank you for the wonderful tool!

Great tool for the Jamspace & Studio!. As a recording engineer, I think Tempi is a useful tool to point out drifts in timing for the band during tracking sessions. The color schemes are terrific and avoid killing the vibe in the room. As a guitar player trying to teach myself drums it's helping me learn to stay focused, steady and in the pocket! Great idea!

Like a reverse metronome!. I love how easy this is to use. Nice feature to play back and review your recording in case you don't want to watch it live as you play. Great app!

Perfect for any musician. This app really has helped me with my rythem and it continues to have cool features that keep the app working! I only wish it had a built in metronome

Great for rehearsal and recording. I've used Tempi to confirm tempos in rehearsal and keep myself honest regardless of how energetic I feel that day. For recording sessions, it keeps you steady enough to make punching in easy. Probably doesn't lock you down enough for seamless edits for intricate parts that go along with sequences, but we'll see!

Helps with piano practice!. I love getting better at keeping a consistent tempo, but I hate having a metronome on all the time :p. This app is perfect- I can identify and review where I’m slowing down and speeding up!

Would be awesome with Shazam integration. I love this app, and it seems pretty accurate! Please add Shazam integration so we can see the name and artist of a tune while checking the temp. Thank you!

Only up to 240bpm. I wish there is a trial for this app. I just downloaded it to track my drumming, but it only detects beat rate up to 240, which makes it useless for me. I wish I could get a refund...

Live tempo detection IF you record everything. Not a great tempometer. If you want to record your performances you can receive a running live tempo read out. This could be cool for reviewing your performances. But if you don’t want to commit memory resources and just want a live tempo reference…this is not the app for you. Expensive too.

Great app. Good for monitoring the tempo. As a solo guitarist this tool is very handy as this records the music played. I can analyze the areas where I speed up and correct accordingly. Love this app thanks
