What is three good things - a happiness journal app? It’s been shown that if you write down three good things that happen to you everyday, your happiness and positivity increase. In the world today, society tends to focus on the negative. Rather than remembering all of the good things in their lives, people often focus on the things which they don’t like. With Three Good Things, you can rewire your brain to focus on the positive by writing down good things that happen to you everyday. By finding positive things that happen in your daily life, you train your mind to notice the good things in life instead of allowing it to focus on the negative.

As Harvard Professor Shawn Achor explains in his book The Happiness Advantage, "this exercise has staying power.... the items you write down each day don't need to be profound or complicated, only specific. You can mention the delicious take-out Thai food you had for dinner, your child's bear hug at the end of a long day, or the well-deserved acknowledgement from your boss at work."

Don’t think , just get it!!!. Honestly . This just makes my day and whenever i see that little notification pop up reminding me to write three things that went well today , i just feel so happy!

Great App!. I love this app! I have found it very useful when shared it with students, it “speaks their language”! It grabs their attention, instantly! Thinking positively requires practice, just like anything else! Thank you for creating it and keeping it so simple.

Simple. I love that I can set a reminder for myself, so at the end of the day - I simply reflect for 3 things that were good. Makes me block out the bad. At the end of the day when I write my journals, I reflect on what NOT to add and release the bad with a shame of my head. Seriously. Love this app. This app is so amazing!!! It is perfect if you are trying to be more positive. The one thing I can say is that I have trouble keeping my streak because I will fill 2 out of 3 things in and it still doesn’t count. Still amazing though!

So good!!. this app is so simple and such a great idea. I have a notification set around 10pm, and it’s such a great way to reflect on good things that happened in the day. Simple and free. Great app for anyone wanting to capture three good things that happened today. Studies have shown capturing these actually can contribute to a more healthier life. I love the simplicity and ease of the app. I wish I could fit in a few more characters but that's not a huge drawback. In fact, it helps me be more concise.

Lovely app!. I love this app and the purpose of it. I think this is the best one because it is free, it is streamlined, and it has slots for each of the 3 things each day. The layout is great and the reminders will help me make this a consistent part of my self care routine. Truly re-wired my brain!. After using this app for only a week, I have found myself focusing much more on the things in my life that I can be grateful for, whether they are big or small. I was skeptical about the “re-wire your brain” claims at first, but I was pleasantly surprised that it has worked on me! This app has helped me focus on the joy in the little things like finally cooking my eggs juuuust right today and bigger things like successfully finishing a course. I love that it reminds me every evening to briefly write just 3 specific things that went well today, and it’s something that I now look forward to right before bed!

It’s the small things. I think this is a very simple app that makes me appreciate my life a bit more. I think it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the negativity in the world. It only takes a few minutes out of your day to record a few thoughts and makes you think about your life. Thank you very much for making it free and creating such a nice app!

Perfect for my nighttime routine. Quick and low-key, familiar feeling as posting a quick tweet. Low stimulation makes it perfect for my night time routine, and it kind of puts the whole day into perspective in a positive way. There’s only like 100 characters allowed per “good thing” you wrote, so I like that it can’t become a journaling experience I get overly sucked into because that’s sully what makes me want to skip journaling at the end of a long day to begin with. Easy to use, easy to stick with, easy to love. Sometimes simple really is better,

Simple and effective. If you’re someone who struggles with keeping a journal or routine this app is great. It only takes 5 minutes a day and I find it’s a great edition to my nightly routine. Finding gratitude and good things no matter how small helps to train your brain to refocus on the positive.

Keeps me feeling thankful and optimistic!. Three good things has been a part of my nightly routine for the past three years. I fill out the three things that I’m thankful for, even if they’re little. It truly has helped me at the end of the day to remind myself to be optimistic and thankful for my friends and family for every moment. It is a great addition to your routine and keeps me appreciative and happier in my daily life!

AMAZING, but one glitch. I love this app so much and how sinple the design is. However, there is one glitch. In the monthly view, I can’t go back past November to look at my past logs. I started this app in October, and there is not option to go back to October. Please fix this in the next update!

Recognize your blessings. Are busy world it’s easy to loose track of all of the good things that happen in our lives. It’s easier to focus on the stress. This is helping acknowledge the good. I could write at least 5 things every day, even more. 3 is a good start. Just don’t stop thinking about these things when your done.

LOVE this app!. I had my daughter get this app as she is becoming a teenager! I wanted her to have this app to help her stay positive as she grows into a beautiful young women! This app is great and she has created goals to try and get to a streak of 50. I told her once she reached this we can go have a spa day just us two! I am very pleased with this app and have seen a very positive change in attitude since I had my daughter get this app!

It’s working!!. I really enjoy this app. At the end of the day I get to look back at my day and remember the good things happened, then writing it this journal makes my brain remember it even more. My attitude and mood are already changing for the better!! 👍🎉😁

Great & modernist to stay grateful. This app is wonderful. I like how I can say three things that I'm grateful for each day, and be as specific as I want. I also like that I can have a timer to remind me at the end of the day, to set up my three things.

Awesome!. The UI is really pretty! I love that you can earn EXP with each good thing, it's motivational. One tiiiiny thing I might change is, it's not clear how to exit the selection menu when choosing a reminder time, a "Done" button might be useful there. But a great app!

Relaxing part of my evening rhythm. My mind keeps turning, largely due to anxiety-ridden racing thoughts. I’ve been trying to establish a bedtime rhythm for years, and I finally have a fledgling rhythm centered around this practice. Bonus: I didn’t realize how much this app was helping until other people started commenting on how happy I’ve been recently. Highly recommend!

Works. I had a journal similar to this that a friend gave me. It helped a lot during a difficult time and unfortunately when I moved I forgot which box it was packed in. I found this app, and I am so happy it’s free. Easy to use and to the point. I wish in a way it was more spruced up (quotes, stickers, something), but it’s still great

I love this app!. Since starting this, I can not miss a single day. FANTASTIC app!. It is SO much fun to go back in the history of the app and re-read things I was happy about 5+ years ago. This an excellent app for personal use and to suggest to other people for them to cultivate a more positive outlook.

Great App!. I love the simplicity of this app! The only thing I wish it had were support for dark mode. Otherwise it’s great! I love the steaks, and I love how I’m forced to use only 100 characters per entry. It definitely makes me focus on what truly matters most in my day!!

A great way to end the day. I love how simple and quick it is and only 5 days in I’ve already noticed a change in my attitude as I look for good things each day and remember them so I can write them down each night. I started out having a hard time thinking of just 3 now I have to choose which to record because I notice so many more! Such a great tool for everyone to have.

Good but don’t like the guilt trip. Since this is supposed to be a gratitude journal, I feel like there shouldn’t be any guilt or obligation attached to it. But it has a counter, that tells you how many days in a row you’ve written your 3 things. This seems counterproductive to me. If I’m having a good day, and don’t get to writing until 12:01am, the counter resets. Only have 2 things because the day wasn’t great and you struggled to find 2 things? Counter resets. So then, you’re having a bad day, and the app makes you feel like a loser. Also, only 100 characters. Good idea, but if I can find something better I’ll be switching.

Three Good Things. I learned at a Harvard University course the importance of resiliency. One of the tools they suggested was to try to end your day on a positive note. They recommended this app, and it really helps keep a daily reflection on what went well. And no ad’s! 😌. Thank you.

Depression symptoms eased. This app is an amazing way to end the day. I am diagnosed with major depressive disorder, anxiety, and ADD, so it’s very difficult for me to stay positive and focused. I’ve been told on more than one occasion that I am a very pessimistic person and this app gives me some positivity at the end of the day. Knowing and remembering that positive things even if very small do happen allows me to get a better nights sleep and I wake up more ready to face the day. It’s also simple enough to keep my attention for just the right amount of time so that I don’t lose focus. Although others don’t see the difference yet (it’s only been a week since starting the app) I feel the difference. I am more aware of the good things that do happen. I can actually get out of bed when I wake up rather that laying in bed for 15 minutes trying to force myself to get out of bed, because I look forward to having “good things” happen. Thank you so much for this app. It has helped me in an amazing way, I can’t believe the difference I feel, and all from your app. You guys are amazing!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Great App for my mental health clients. It’s easy. It’s free. It doesn’t collect personal information or bombard you with ads. Love. Love. Love this app. It helps me focus each night on the best parts of my day. There is a gentle reminder and it only takes a moment or so. I love it but. I think this app is great. It’s really helped my self esteem and mood. It’s honestly been a great aspect to my life. But I wish there was not a limit on how much you can write. I wish there was a larger limit to words. I can’t always fit what i want to say. I hope there is more space on the next update. Is this possible?

This app functions really well!. It’s good for when your stressed...When you feel like nothing in your day is good, try this app! It helps you focus on more positive things that happened throughout the day then the negative! And even for the gamers, they added levels and XP! (Experience Points) Overall, I find this a really good app and really suggest checking it out. It’s not like Angry Birds, Rules of Survival, even Geometry Dash, but it’s still very useful and worth looking into!

Boosted my positivity!!!. I have been using this app for over a month now and I’m loving it! I feel happier than I did a month ago and it takes a lot of my anxiety away especially during these dark times. An Amazing APP! Love it!. Use it as my daily gratitude journal. It captures positive thoughts in a quick and concise manner. I’ve always been challenged to be consistent in my daily recording. This forces me to be specific and succinct about what went well and what I’m grateful for daily. The daily reminder is a great feature. Set at 9pm to ensure the day doesn’t end without slowing down and being fully present to reflect on what went well. I refer this app to friends, family and colleagues all the time! Today I’m grateful for “3 Good Things!”

Amazing and simple!. This is by far, one of the BEST apps I’ve ever had! I have the daily reminder turned on, and set for 8:30pm (right after I put my kiddos to bed), and it’s the perfect time to reflect on my day. So much of the time, life is crazy and hectic, and the daily grind takes a major toll on me. It’s all too easy to focus all of the negative things happening to/around us. But this app “forces” you to reflect on all of the POSITIVE things—even if it’s just the small things, and is always the perfect way to end the day! I really struggle with depression and anxiety, and it tends to get the best of me. Even though I don’t want to or mean to, I find myself engulfed in negativity and negative thoughts. But when my phone “dings” every night at 8:30, and a notification pops up that says, “What are 3 good things that happened today?” I immediately find myself snapping out of that, and mind retraces my day, ONLY thinking of all the POSITIVES! Some days I have a hard time coming up with three, other days I have a hard time ONLY choosing three. This app is SUPER simple to navigate and use, and that makes it that much better! There’s zero confusion about how to work it, and it’s very straightforward. I have nothing but things to say about this app! Thank you SO very much for creating this app—I can’t even imagine just how many people it is helping. 😍

Seeing the bright side. Since I have been using the app, I notice many more little good things that happen throughout the day. Using the app has really improved my ability to see the bright side.

It is what it is!! Perfect!. I began listening to instructional vids on how to incorporate good/positive & healthy habits into my life. The author said Start Small! Write 3 good things a day for at least 21 consecutive days. I'm 3 months in and I'm so happy I no longer have to use my Planner! My gratuity list has taken me to another level of happiness and I love to reflect on them! Thank you!!

Great little app!. I really like this app. Small, simple, does it’s job. I also like the fact that it frames the situation by asking for 3 things that went well today, instead of the usual “what are you thankful for”, or “why are you blessed”(ugh). And by asking for things that went well, I believe you are still getting to the same information.

LOVE. I love this app. It’s so easy to be in survival mode and only see the negatives in life but this app has already lifted my spirits in only 4 days. i find myself wanting to write more than 3 things because reflecting on just 3 makes me call to mind even more good things that happened in the day. I get the same effect from gratitude journaling however this being an app and having an option to be reminded makes it so convenient. it also tracks your streak and keeping my streak going is an additional motivator to continue. it’s also free & no ads. great! one suggestion: i wish for a character limit increase. thank you creators :)

Limits My Gratitude. I quite like the app and how it set up “streaks” so you have incentive to do it everyday. I think it is very simple and easy to use which is wonderful. I don’t like that it limits you to ONLY 3 good things a day. I wish it made a minimum of 3, but you could do more. Sometimes, I have really good days and I have to choose between things I’m grateful for. Otherwise, very nice app!

Too few characters. I’ve only been using for a week now but find myself every day wishing there were more character space to write my gratitudes down. Giving a short explanation why things “went good” would need a little perspective. I’d like to be able to look back at a later date and have perspective on the reasons I wrote what I did at the time. I’ll definitely look for a different app that allows more “journaling”

Love it, just two minor things. 1- I wish you could type just a bit more 2-I wish there was an optional to add additional or just a random Blank page (like a notebook tab where you could add whatever).... I love it otherwise! Ive notice a more positive mood recently and I like ending my day on a positive note 👍

Love it. I love this app it’s so much easier than trying to keep a dairy! All I have to do is open the app and write three good things. Instead of writing in a dairy which takes forever.

Great Idea. Have enjoyed using the app especially in lockdown in Melbourne Australia. Have kept it going now that things are on the improve. Only criticism is I can’t open the on multiple devices. I use my iPhone to enter logs but can’t call up what I have written on the iPad. Would be great if you could.

Amazing but... This app is AMAZING!!! 🤯 Who knew writing 3 good things could make me so much more happier overall! All though this app is 👍🏻, in the calendar option, I can’t go back to my last months. For example, when I wanted to look at the calendar option my February month, it wouldn’t allow me to. Other than that, WOW!

Brilliant during these quarantine times. It’s a must app unless you would like to use pen & paper journal.

Contents cannot be deleted at all. Anything you wrote in these journal entries can not be deleted. This could end up being hacked abs shared with many others and not that bad things are written but there should always be a way to permanently delete and remove your information and account. This is not a good option for privacy. I don’t suggest using this app if you value privacy

Can you please do an iPad version of this app?. I have downloaded this app and for some reason, the screen was small. That’s when I realized that this app was only available on an iPhone. So can you please do an iPad version of this app? I would love that.

Fix the streaks please. I have been writing three good things for nearly 20 days straight. But just because I don't always do it at the same time I get the reminder, it registers as 1 day! Demoralizing. Otherwise great app.

Privacy concern. I downloaded this app because I like the idea behind the app. I noticed that the developer has not provided details about their privacy practices and how they handle data to Apple. I won’t use the app until privacy gets addressed.

Simple & quick. Train your brain to recognize the good stuff. It works. I used to just do this in my Notes app, but this is better. Like the reminder.

Happiness is truly an attitude!. And doing this very simplistic exercise does something to refocus the internals in you into positive notes playing more of a sweet, harmonious song than negative notes sounding like a sadly mistuned instrument.

Years ago I read an article that changed my life - how writing down 3 positive things a day is proven to increase productivity and overall happiness. Today, I am trying to get back into this habit, and succeed only thanks to this app’s gamified system. This app uses game-like elements to trigger our reward system whenever we submit a journal post, hence incentivizing us to get into this habit. It’s the best app I ever found to cultivate this habit. I love this app. I belong to a FB group that does this. I always forget though. The app reminds me to think more positively. My day goes much better when I look for the positives. Most of the time, I find more than 3. 🙃

Almost perfect. Love getting in the habit of gratitude. The only flaw is you lose your streak even if you go back and fill in the day before. Forget to fill out all 3 once & you have to start the streak all over.

Simple and easy but doesn’t sync. Great how simple and easy it is. Makes it much easier to complete. But I can’t figure out how to sync it between my phone and iPad. I am concerned that if I upgrade devices I will lose my history.

Simple but useful. I like this app and it’s simplicity. I hate when I mess up a streak! I wish it didn’t send you notifications if you’ve already filled out your three things though.

Excellent positive reinforcement. It helps me stay hopeful by refocusing my energy on the positive & that carries over from day to day when I have to acknowledge it.

No frills. Does the trick.. Pretty bare bones, and unforgiving (first time you post after midnight and kill a several-month streak, you’ll know what I mean) - but its simplicity is definitely its charm. Build it into another habit tracker for maximum impact.

I love the 3 things app! But.... Sometimes I have next to nothing to write for the day, and sometimes many things. Maybe make each box bigger for more writing or allow more than 3 boxes? :)
