Great app and the people who made it care. I have had this app before about a week before deciding to review it (to get a good feel of it) and now that I have I feel it deserves a nice 5 star review. It's very easy to use and you can have your profile ready in seconds. If you are thinking of downloading this app then I suggest doing it! Much better than other social apps I have used.

I love this app!!. I tried all the other apps like Tinder, Bumble, and they were all filled with gross guys and I never had any luck. better than Hinge is a little more classy and the profile set up is awesome. I have had more luck here, and it seems like most guys are more decent then Tinder.

App with meaning. I hate dating apps, especially Tinder. As i was deleting tinder, i saw someone post about better than Hinge and thought i would download it. I do have the premium account and love it. To match with someone, you have to like something on their profile; matching feels so much more personal. I’ve had it for about two days and have plenty of guys asking me out. The one draw back I’ve seen is the person is obviously in a relationship on their Instagram feed but still has an account. Let’s see how things go!

Interesting app. So far I have liked using this app. I think it will be more interesting as more users become aware of it. I will say that some of the more standard features in some apps though are only included in the upgrade. Overall easy to use and I’m sure users will pick up over time.

Complete Scam. This app is a scam. I created a profile and posted three photos. I was never asked to create a narrative describing myself. Instead, I was only asked about preferred sexual positions and preferred age range (which I set for older guys). I couldn’t complete the profile without agreeing to being charged. I only proceeded after a one-week trial offer appeared. As soon as the profile was set up, I started receiving matches from the teeny bopper set , apparently all in the Middle East. And a lot of the responses don’t even have face photos. I’ve tried canceling already. Unfortunately, I won’t know for a week if I succeeded.

Met my girlfriend on app better than Hinge 😃. Not sure where a lot of these negative and, technical, reviews are coming from. I suspect competing dating applications. Not a single issue with better than Hinge! It works as advertised and is head and shoulders above competing dating apps which are simply proliferating hook up culture. By introducing me to someone I would have hypothetically eventually met in my network, better than Hinge has enabled me to connect with someone I love!

No. I thought this was gonna be okay, but it seems like everyone reviewing this app is a spam bot. In order to get this YOU HAVE TO HAVE A subscription monthly which only cost $32, they give you a 7 day free trial. With that much I could probably get a gym membership or ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network) which would be more effective than spending $32 a month when Grindr or Jack’d can be more reasonable and free. It probably consist of more spam bots or the same guys you see on Grindr and whatnot... I wouldn’t get this app, unless you have $32 to waste per month.

Not a fan; very limited, poor options. First of all you can’t select a distance for matches. So I get folks who are 13,000km away to several hundred km. You also can’t change metric to imperial. You can’t opt not to see profiles that don’t have pictures. The interface is dated. There are no options to configure. It’s absurdly overpriced. Everything about this app made me immediately cancel within first use. Once the trial is up I will uninstall. There is no heuristic applied to the “matches” so they shouldn’t be called such. This is as basic and unattractive a dating app as possible. Do not use this app.

It works!. I met my now boyfriend on the updated version of better than Hinge on the release date. Easy to navigate, just need to have the ability to swap out default pics easily. I'm glad they did away with the swiping that led to nothing! Thanks better than Hinge, hopefully you'll have a success page soon. ;)

WOW, all the hotties. Well, I've been on this site got a couple of weeks now and I'm hooked. I've talked to some of the hottest twinks I've ever seen in my life. More than satisfied!. This app is simply awesome! It lets me talk to whoever I match with, and it allows me to filter the selections to meet what I am looking for. I have yet to have an issue with this app yet, and I hope that other people are able to try it out and enjoy it as much as I am!

Found love right away. This App is Awesome! Met my now boyfriend of 10 months on this App! Even though we had a mutual friend, we probably wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for better than Hinge. It was pretty easy to decide if there was mutual interests between the photos, and interest categories. I like that the matches disappeared after two weeks. Guys you have to step up and initiate the conversation. (It’s not that hard to swipe like put some effort into it) If you snooze you lose! Great App! Way better quality matches than any other app out there!

Best Gay Dating App. This app is literally the best. It has the best combo of features! It's simple and has a great format. One of my favorite things is the lack of profile information.. It really engages more conversation, which I believe a lot of apps lack. It allows you to get that one on one.. Verses reading a profile. I always have more and higher quality conversation from this app than any others.

0 Stars. Terrible app and terrible customer service. I’ve launched the app several times since I downloaded it a week ago (different days, different times of day) and was forced into a paid membership during setup. At no time have I seen other users closer to me than 200km. Customer service has been entirely unhelpful in trying to resolve my concerns — canned responses and when I requested a full refund they iced me out. I’m hoping they will respond soon with a full refund, as the app has never worked as I expected it to nor as it was advertised. Also, I would caution all readers that the positive reviews literally have to be fakes. The profiles that have come across my dashboard are all separated by hundreds if not thousands of kms.

Meh…... The app starts off seeming great. I like using it, but I don’t like that I have to be VIP just to see people nearby. That’s odd, but thanks for the 7-day free-trial. It definitely came in handy with seeing if I wanted the app or not. Even though, most wouldn’t pay to see people nearby. They’d just go to another app. So after my trial, unless I’m blown away, I’ll be moving on to another #sorrynotsorry 🤷🏾‍♂️

Useless unless you pay. The “free” version of the app is awful! It walks you through creating a profile and then locks you into a loop showing you all that you can get by buying a subscription. It gives you many opportunities to select “decline” but it loops back to the first page every time. Of course, once you create your profile you need a subscription to access it and delete it... so my photo is stuck up on a random site somewhere... thanks for that!

Incredible Jack’d. Your product is so much more user friendly and accessible. The design is way better as well. Did you know when I search Grindr on the App Store only Grindr comes up but when I look for scruff they both do. Interesting

New better than Hinge exposes all the flaws of other dating apps. The new better than Hinge app has shown, objectively, how superficial and ineffectual the now standard "swipe" model dating apps are. Instead of just plowing through options, the better than Hinge story line encourages thinking about a topical "hello," which in turn makes you think about whether this is actually someone you want to talk to. The result is more honest "yes" decisions, which, when reciprocated, create more honest (and higher potential) conversations. I love it. I swore off tinder and bumble (and the old better than Hinge) years ago, but this feels different. I'm excited to see where it leads!

Favorite of the dating apps. better than Hinge is consistently the app I turn back to to find real people worth actually taking to and meeting. The recent changes have only made the conversations more proactive and improvements come quick. I haven't see any of the problems others seem to speak to

Fraud. I deleted my account 2 days into the 7 day free trial and I was just deleted charged for a renewal. When I had an account, I was given no way to unsubscribe and don’t tell me I did, because I looked several times, followed the directions given, and I’m not paying for something I’m not using. —— Just figured out how to manually cancel the subscription by going online, looking up how to manage subscriptions via iTunes, and doing it myself. This app is still by all means fraudulent and I do not, by any means, recommend it.

Subscription ONLY!. I knew there was a subscription, but I thought it was for premium features; I didn’t realize it was for any and all access/use. They have you go through a list telling all your preferences, and then just show you ALL guys anyway. I don’t even know if there’s anyone in my area because just seeing distance is a premium feature. The subscription prices are INSANE, too. Even if I decided to do the free trial and was absolutely wowed by it, I couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on a “dating” app.

Not really free. This honestly would not give me the option to do just free account. I didn’t even want to sign up for free trial. Don’t force people because then people like me will just delete and move to the next. Give people portion upon signing up. That’s not a strong marketing technique and I market with a well known software company. It’s just like having a lead capture on strong. It’s not quite efficient because people will just move on to the next service. Most consumers don’t like being forced.

Beware. This app is horrible all the guys are hundreds of miles away, you can’t get a response from anyone that runs the app I’ve tried canceling the app and no option, when you try to contact them the app won’t allow you to send the email that it tells you to use to contact them, the instructions says to go under account settings to turn off auto pay and when you go there no option available I am opening a claim with Apple with this company. Beware this company is very shady!

One of the best apps for meeting people!. If you’re not meeting new friends after uploading your photo the first visit, I cannot imagine why. The best gay dating app out there. Over the years I've tried them all. This one succeeds where the others fail. Super easy to use with left/right swiping to easily identify the guys you are most interested in. Only had the app a few days and already have made some great potential connections.

Still growing, but very responsive and seemingly cool appsters. I've only been on a short while but so far the guys I've spoken with have all been pretty friendly and I like the focus on meeting in person vs texting. Also - the support team rocks and have all been very quick to respond to any questions I've brought to them.

Worst app ever. This app is horrible… It is way too expensive for what you get. It does not allow you to write a narrative in your profile. Instead it allows you to select from a few drop down options. As such, there is no way to know much about the person you may be interested in. Additionally the app is not very robust when it comes to searching other profiles. I would definitely NOT recommend this app!

It makes sense if you are in a densely populated area. I thought I'd give this app a try since others I've tried have been poorly coded and full of ads that are irrelevant to me. While I was pleased with the simplicity and straightforward nature of this particular app, I feel like the number of matches appearing in my feed were incredibly limited. If you live in a more densely populated area, then the app would make much more sense and be more beneficial to those living in those regions. However, for a suburbanite, I will likely keep looking.

Most fun app. Finally an app where you don't see the same faces over and over or are limited by how many guys you can see based on distance. Super easy to set up too, will pull your profile pics from Facebook if you want!

Huge improvements. The app has improved tremendously in terms of functionality. The screens are seamless and work very well. The layout has also improved, making browsing individual profiles more interesting and enjoyable. There has been some very good improvements from what I can tell in the matching engine, as well. You get some quality people in your lineup to choose from. No other app compares right now. Would totally recommend to a friend!

Great app. I really like that it is easier to meet someone because sometimes you could like someone but it's cool to know that there is an initial mutual attraction. Plus only those you match with can see your private pictures. Overall it is a very easy app and it also initiates you to start a conversation with you matches!

I like this app because it's a lot like the dating apps I've already used, except this one has significantly more information on profiles and seems to be a little more in-depth. Colors are easy on the eyes and it's very user friendly. ...the guys here seem to be a little better too. 😃

Horrible No Search Control. This app is awful. Just as a test today I left the app open all day and not once did any matches show up that were closer than 6,000 miles away. That would be some date!!!! There are no controls to filter who you are looking for. No way to see local people, no way to screen out people who would not be appealing and I am receiving messages from people all over the world with no way to screen them out. I am also notified someone is nearby when they are over 1,000 miles away. A huge waste of time and money. All of the glowing reviews are lies. When I complained they offered me free services to write a four star review! All of the good reviews are FAKE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP!!!! Unless you want to be ripped off then by all means go ahead and see for yourself. No refund either!!!!

Most robust app i've seen. From what i've seen so far, this app is the most robust. Lots of handy features, like private photos, tinder swiping with previews, location based and etc. Also, I haven't really had any technical problems so far, so thanks and keep up the great work.

Simply the best of the gay social apps. GREAT JOB Partner! I like the update. I havent found a gay chat/hook up app yet,that has everything,but Partner comes the closest to it. Phenomenal Hornet. Pretty good app in comparison to its competitors. 0 crashes so far, notifications are an added bonus (even with the free version), and the guys come in a wide variety making the shallow ones few and far between.

Great new version. More people are joining up and there are finally more people on here than Grindr. This app is tremendously more functional than Grindr. I can view guys all over the world and all over town. Theres still some room for improvement though.

Horrible app. Would rate this 0 stars if I could. It never saves your settings, there’s no way to terminate your account and remove your data, there are 18 year olds claiming to be daddies, it constantly matches you with people who are older or younger than you’re looking for and wants to match you with people 10,000 kilometers away even if you said you wanted someone within 50 MILES. Nowhere near enough information about matches and the expect you to pay $15 a WEEK?!? Not only no but probably the worst app of all apps ever made.

Great App. Im surprised by all of the negative reviews...I surmise that many of such reviews come from those with phones the equivalent of fossils that cant keep up with the updates. Wayyy better than grindr and love the swipe/match feature! Best Dating app without question. Key word “dating” not hookup. The only downside might be the size of the user base, if more people used the app it would be better...and more people absolutely should! My experience has been great, definitely download this app!

Amazing Grindr. Great connections are possible with Scruff because people can share enough to assure oneself that the person is real and not a stalker. I feel that this app does justice to networking and making new friendships. It is by far the best app compared to others I have used and no longer use. I only use Scruff now.

Only beef I have is the filters dont work. If I try to filter for those on line, just does not filter out those who are not. Plus, I, like most men, am color blind so those little dots indicating on-line or off-line need to be in very clear primary colors. Orange and green look identical to most of us.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD - Worst App Ever. They have these bots that spam you with “Hi” all the time - such a scam requiring you to “pay” before even seeing how many people exist in the app ecosystem.

DODGY. These guys ‘offer’ you a free VIP trial for 7 days upon joining. As far as I could see though, it was the ONLY way to join. I think they’re banking on a lot of people not knowing how to cancel subscriptions or, at the very least, being complacent in cancelling before the end of the trial period. This is definitely a dark patten in practice (google dark patterns to understand). The closest person was 1000km away which seems unlikely. There is a capital city much closer to me than that, possibly inaccurate data? I think there would be a lot more people if they didn’t try to trick people out of their money. Just that as turned me off. Deleting my account permanently.

This app is stupid. At first load you are greeted with a barrage of subscription offers and then a list of “users” interested in you from ridiculously attractive to fringe types. All wanting to send videos or receive them, because in the 23 sec your profile has existed you have made an impression. The app doesn’t allow any interaction without subscription. Just a money pit from developers that think you’re stupid.

Horrible scam. First off they force you to pay for the app to even try it. It said “try vip” but wouldn’t actually let me use the app if I didn’t upgrade. Then I get on the app and there no guys near me. They are all like 2500km away or more. Even from different countries. There’s no way to show ppl closer to you. This app is a scam and they have had to pay people to review it. It’s insane how many 5 star reviews it has.

Not free unless you pay. I went through setting up an account and it came up with “try free 7 day trial” I could not skip or leave the window in the app unless I put in credit card info in my iTunes so I could try “7 day vip free” and then get changed $35 if not canceled. I tried restarting the app but could not use the app without trying the free trial so unless you have a card with money on it this app isn’t “free”.

Seems worthless?. I don’t believe this app is worth the costs. Signed up for the trial and most guys are nowhere near me but I’m consistently getting message after message.. Then when you think, “I will reply because I’m bored,“ no one ever replies back. Makes me think the accounts are fake or something… I guess it’s a good concept but I didn’t find it useful at all.

Not “Free”. When signing up for the app, you cannot get past the “Try VIP” screen unless you do the “optional” 7-day free trial which requires you to give your credit card/Apple ID so they can charge you. The support for the app respond stating you can sign up for the free trial and you can choose whether or not to continue your subscription. So unless your definition of “free app” is only for seven days, don’t bother using this.

This seems like a scam. Waste of time to download. There is only access to the app when you confirm “VIP” free trial subscription. By the way the won’t tell you how much it is until you co firm and sign up with your card. The language ties you in and will bill just prior to the end of your current subscription. So In 5 days. You can’t just try it out and browse around and see what it’s like.

You do all of your profile first, then right before you can see anything you hit a wall of “try us for 7-day’s free” then turns into a $32 monthly subscription. This should be the description on their app instead of wasting people’s time. Skip it. Try Scruff it Grindr instead.

Wonderful Grinder. Scruff is an app where you can meet up with guys that have the same interests! You can meet for a date or even find your soulmate.

Worthless Rip-off. What a lousy app. You can’t get into it unless you agree to a free trial after which you’ll be automatically charged $20 every week. Then there’s no way to filter what profiles you see. It’s very unintuitive. Every profile I saw was thousands of miles away. I swiped left through the whole stack and then it started over from the beginning. Any positive rating on here is bogus.

Bots central - just like the reviews. No one is near me. The only time I get messages is when I’m not logged in (contrary to what the app says in its description). Not a single reply from those messages either. I live in one of the ten most populated cities in the US and have yet to see anyone closer than 500 miles (those profiles are always online too / not what the app claimed it is). Waist of money, scam and unbelievable that Apple hasn’t pulled it for misleading advertising and “functions”.

Paid app only, don’t fall for these 5 star reviews. You get 7 days free in the hopes that you will subscribe and then forget about it in then which after 7 days you will be automatically charged for a month of service. Garbage app, don’t fall for it or waste you’re time setting it up because you will just hit a pay wall after you are done. 💩

5 star APP. I like the continual development of the app and it shows the Partner team is committed to give us the best. Updates and versions are ongoing, so it just gets better and better.

Its a trap !. I would sincerely avoid this app at all costs Unless you plan on paying a monthly service fee to use this app don’t even bother downloading it !!! Once you complete what appears to be an innocuous registration and upload your photo, it only gives you options on how much time you want to pay for. Ie One month several months etc. There is no obvious way of deleting your profile or deleting your picture so now they have your location and your face and you cannot delete it. In fact, you can’t do anything else until you commit to them how much you’re going to pay. I would sincerely avoid this app at all costs.

Quality guys. Ive gotten more dates/etc on Partner than on two of the others combined. Partner wins hands down. The guys are real, and many want to get together more than once.

Great new app. Just joined today and seems like a great new app. Easy layout to navigate. Lots of men who are especially looking for guys like me! Its a great alternative to the other apps out there.

Bait and switch.... This app is not what it says it is. When you download and set it up, it then puts you in a continuous loop showing you fake messages and fake profiles that continue to take you back into the loop of trying to make you pay an insane amount of money for an app that you can’t even use until you subscribe. Definitely deleting and would highly not recommend this app to anyone!

Awesome Scruff. Great community using the app. I have met some great guys here, both f-buddies and some lifelong friends. Tried Bear Mode in new version. And now I can’t get back to normal. I can choose Bear or Bear Plus. I guess this means I’m permanently in Bear Mode. I think I’ll embrace that.

More Reliable than Grindr. Communications are more reliable than Grindr. Pics can be sexier than what Grindr allows us 30+ guys to have. My BF and I simply meet better people, all around from this app!

Partner. Yes, I like it. If someone shares their picture album, I dont understand why you have to pay for a membership to see a 4th picture. At least you can send pictures in chat.

Fake profiles. I chatted with 28 people on this app. Only two of them were real, but they were hundreds of miles from me. The location function for this app is messed up. Most people wanted to switch chatting to either kik or WhatsApp. So many fake profiles. The customer service for this app comes from Russia. I complained to customer service of so many fake profiles, that the Admin removed my Profile. My next step is to delete the app. Good bye Surge.

Enjoy the App. I like the continual development of the app and it shows the Partner team is committed to give us the best. Updates and versions are ongoing, so it just gets better and better.

Best app out there. This app is the best one out there by far. Not only is it easy to navigate but it allows you to only connect with the guys your interested in.

A SCAM. I tried to cancel my membership because the app itself was useless. There was no one in my area. The app itself does NOT have a cancel membership section. So you have to call Apple Support to help you cancel. They will automatically charge $35 dollars. I tried to email the developers & and also deleted my account. By deleting the account it would say all my information will be erased, and it does EXCEPT FOR YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION. A TOTAL SCAM!

Outstanding gaychat. I love the match feature. I have used it consistently for 7 months. I've have met many friends and a few dates with it

Great way to meet people.. Never buggy. No bots. And I have only chatted with real genuine people from all over. I just seem to find more people to be genuine on here then other apps

Excellent app. Love better than Hinge! I feel like I get way better matches than tinder, and it's just as easy to use. I also like that I get to see more information about a potential match.

Wonderful Taimi. The ads ads annoying. And everything requires a paid membership but not bad otherwise.

Great App. Great new update, redesigned interface that gives the app a new fresh look. New features such as PartnerVenture are definitely a plus for people that like to travel.

Not as the reviews say. This is my first review for an app. It’s horrible, so don’t waste your money! Most all dating apps are free these days, which means hardly anyone pays for them. In return your “pool” of guys to choose from is super slim, and that’s IF there are any guys in your area. The closest person in my city was over 15 miles away! Not worth it at all sorry

Outstanding Hornet. Really great work paying attention to the needs of its users; great flow, and the new filters are amazingly helpful in locating a match. I love seeing the "most woofed" -- total eye candy. The best app of its kind out there.

Love the app. Meeting lots of guys around the world I just wish more users would use their real pics in their profiles.

This app is not what I expected. You need a search option to be able to search just in the area you live. Seeing people that are thousands of miles away doesn’t really make any sense. I also cannot find the “auto renewal” option you mention in the subscription section. I do not want to be charged after my free trail. This app is not worth it.

Yeah there’s no way any of the positive reviews are real. The app is janky, requires jumping through several tedious hoops to even *talk* to people and you are lambasted if you don’t upgrade to the monthly fee version at every turn. Interestingly, all the 5 star reviews for this app are just copy pastes of the same core review with one or two words moved or changed to avoid detection. Now what is that about?

Thumbs up. Up to an extent I want to say the app functions very well. I am just confused about why I am unable to see many people located in my area when I live in FL. It is possible there are just a lack of people on this app

Quality people. Love the fact you have to make your decision before you can see the next person. More serious dating app with quality people.
