💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Too wide search results. The app is ok, and the results do match well for search terms unlike some other job apps. My complaint is that the search area is way too wide. I’m north of Baltimore and my results are for DC and northern VA. The website lets you narrow it by distance but the app does not. I hope this changes because otherwise I can see this being a good, useful app. I just don’t have time to look through all these jobs I’d never apply to.

Job offers and applications. It’s easy to go through and look for jobs and easily submit an application for students that are looking for to grow more in their career field. Highly recommend this application!😄.

Terrible app. I received an email for a virtual interview on handshake. When I click the link handshake opens and tells me that I don’t have permission to do “that”. It doesn’t tell me what “that” is and they don’t have a customer support number either. You have to fish around the app until you manage to find where you can send an email to them. I still haven’t heard back from Handshake since I’ve sent an email. Employers please do not use this app for interviews etc. customer support is trash and the links they provide won’t allow everyone to open it.

Love the program…App Freezes. I absolutely love Handshake, but the app freezes every time I try to load a job to see more about it. It goes to load, and then I get the spinning circle of perpetual waiting. It’s very frustrating as, even in the mobile version, it does the same thing. I have deleted the app and downloaded it again to see if that resolved the issue; it didn’t. Please fix these issues, I would love to effectively use your program.

Best Job site I’ve used!. Tried Indeed, Trello, LinkedIn jobs, all of them pale in comparison to handshake. The ui alone and innovative way to search for jobs is a selling point that can beat any other site out there. It may not have the amount of jobs like indeed, but you can find good ones very quickly that are the perfect fit for you. My school, IUPUI uses handshake and I was able to find an opportunity as a freshman, I was a freshman! I have only seen jobs pertaining to the technology sector, software engineer to data analyst type stuff. That’s because that’s all I’m interested in right now. However, the DM system where companies can reach out to you, or you can reach out to recruitment managers is an amazing addition to an already great job hunting experience. Try it out!

Flaw. I find the location setting to be very frustrating. I was a student in Chicago Illinois, I have now moved and live in Nashville Tennessee. I have changed my personal setting as best I can to find careers in Tennessee however, the jobs still listed to me apply only to Chicago because I went to college there and those who reach out are only individual’s interested in the Chicago area. I wish this app would offer better location settings/relevant location settings for alumni. It makes it impossible to find a job after graduating.

Cannot get past "Search for Schools" page. I just updated the app because I was looking at a job, and suddenly kept getting the error message "Something went wrong. Please try again." However, now that I've updated the app, I cannot get past the "Search for Schools" page. I type in the first two letters of my school, then get the same error message: "Something went wrong. Please try again." I tried turning my phone off and then back on again, but that didn't work. I also tried deleting the app and then reinstalling it, but that didn't work, either. This is really frustrating. The app was working fine until five minutes ago. Now it's not working at all. Please fix this ASAP! Thank you.

Good app, but missing features. The app is well designed and easy to use. It could use an iPad version. The search tool is useful, but a way to filter by only work-study jobs, and filter by “quick apply” jobs. MANY jobs posted aren’t real, and you actually have to apply separately after finishing your Handshake one. I wish I could filter those out.

Stop logging us out. For the most part I absolutely love this platform. But the fact that it logs me out pretty much every single time without me asking is getting really annoying. It really hurts usability when I just wanna go check a message and I have to go through my entire university’s SSO. This is a problem both on the web app and the actual app. Just leave me logged in like LinkedIn I don’t think there’s data private enough to warrant logging me out each time and if there is then use Face ID.

Really Good Could Be Better. I find the app helpful, and it connects me through my current college too. I would really like to see some changes though. Such as giving the option to sort by location where it’s decreasing in how far away from your current location (or where you say you live at).

The App Fails You. There is no log in interface on the app. You have to select your college. The problem is my college has different email domains for their on campus and online students. So on the physical website I was able to create a login and have access to the service because it gives you the option to enter your email without selecting the school. The app gives me no such option. So, I have an account and no way to login to the app itself. No way to contact support. Nothing.

Nothing but spam. For every good recruiter theres 20 more saying “disregard if this is not your field” because they mass message everyone in a generic way. I have hundreds of notifications in my inbox and a single digit number had anything to do with my skillset. Setting which opportunities I want clearly has not worked. Also, it seems they removed the option to not get notified by certain employers, as I have begun receiving messages again from companies I previously avoided

Good but missing needed features. My school uses handshake to connect students with jobs so I got the app because I’m a senior and am actively looking for jobs. The app is good but you can’t delete messages and there is no setting that allows you to only allow a certain type of messages. I keep getting messages from irrelevant jobs that have nothing to do with my major and barely require a degree. The app just needs better functionality. Otherwise, it’s a decent tool for job searching.

Still Job Searching (app needs a lot of work). I hate leaving a bad review, but there is no way to contact anyone for feedback. I got this app as an alumni and the career department of my school recommended. This app needs a lot of work. I am look for a remote position. There is no option to put this in your search or on your profile. Also I don’t know what the point of having a profile is because every recruiter that contacts me obviously doesn’t even look at it. They also ignore my job preferences. I often get messages about jobs outside of my field and nowhere near where I live. Most of the messages I get from the recruiters are similar messages over and over. Even when I respond that the job is not what I’m look for and that they are not remote and out of state the recruiters ignore it and later respond with the same job with a similar if not the same message that was sent to me before. It’s so bad that I would equate it to spam. Please fix this. I should only be getting jobs that are relevant to my job preferences. Why even have a job preferences page if it doesn’t work? Please add the option to filter results for remote work, add remote work to job preferences page and fix it so my job preferences and profile aren’t ignored by the recruiters.

Needs some improvements. The site and app are useful, but you can’t save jobs on the app and have them appear in your profile on the site. Why? Also the messages you send cannot be seen in the app. Everything else seems to be linked though. I would really love to be able to save jobs on my phone app and then apply for them using my pc.

Update has broken handshake. With the recent large update to handshake it has broken the iOS release. The app looks much cleaner but there are serious issues. The web version works fine however and exhibits none of these problems. The iOS app removed the student section information I put in, but on true web version it is still there. Jobs are not refreshing on the iOS version. I see new jobs posted to web version but these do not show up on iOS version.

Can’t login. This needs work especially the login part for students. I have been trying to login for weeks under my school login and I keep getting an error message. This needs to be fixed on the app along with some other issues I can’t put my finger on due to not being able to get into the app on my end.

Internship Prefs & App Crashes. The app is okay in the idea, but the execution is not there. I dislike the fact that internships won’t specify what year in school they are looking for on the details page of the job. I have applied and then gotten turned down because I didn’t fit the graduation date requirements (as many were never openly listed). My app also keeps crashing when I try to change the job preferences. If I try to deselect the roles, the Handshake app will crash and close up. I have logged out, deleted the app, and restarted my phone a few times and it’s still doing this. Very frustrating overall and will be a bit useless if I can’t actually get it to stop crashing.

Blocking should be a feature. Would be great if we could block certain recruiters. I had to turn down interships but the same recruiters will send their generalized message over and over again for other internships, and I’ve messaged them saying thank you for the opportunity but I’m not looking for an internship and i might as well not have sent anything. We’re going on too many times this occurring in just one month. ALLOW PEOPLE TO BLOCK INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES ALL TOGETHER.

Works well for intended purpose but. There is no way to manage what emails you get sent and you can only unsubscribe from specific things when they get sent to you. When I tried to searching how to block emails it would only tell me how to resubscribe. Yes to apply to jobs this app is fully capable, but it’s manipulative/dark UX and just annoying to not allow the user to change those settings. I have lost all respect for the company I previously had. I expect this from scams and cheap money grab apps not a service used by universities and businesses.

Mostly marketing spam. Needs to be better filtering or categories when companies make posts. And notifications don’t properly clear after viewing messages which is annoying and I had to disable badging so it wouldn’t always distract me. The majority of the messages I receive are labeled as a job to apply to but they’re invitations to conventions, or mostly just general interest presentations for their companies. JOB: Want to learn more about company X? Sign up at the link below! Our company might be hiring, who knows!! It feels like marketing spam 80% of the time. Not one star bc there have been 2 or 3 actual invitations to apply to internships which could perhaps help somebody but really those opportunities are all available on every other job site, too.

Some issues. Other parts work. For starters, saving jobs on the app and website is a huge problem. Sometimes you can’t unsave. When you apply to the job, it stays saved (and you can’t undo this sometimes). Saving is bugged It would also be nice to view documents on mobile or even edit/change things. Basically, some features available on the website are still not on mobile Other parts work fine just like the website

Need a way to view all documents.. I would like a way to view all the documents I’ve uploaded to Handshake. There is already a way to do this on the website (by going to your account icon and clicking My Documents), so please include a way to do this on the mobile app as well. Would be 5 stars otherwise!

Needs work done. The app needs allot of work still. First off there isn’t a log off button anywhere so if you signed up with the wrong email then good luck on fixing that. There are many things the website has that cannot be accessed through the app such as viewing other students in your school. As for the actual job searching tool it is far too wide. I live in Texas. Denton to be exact yet I’m seeing jobs in other states. The app has potential but I’m honestly surprised that it seems as if it wasn’t tested thoroughly. What I recommend for you all to do is ask various students all the problems we are having with your website. A simple survey email should suffice.

Unusable app. Not sure why this has so many food reviews, I had a lot of difficulties signing up for an account through the app. I contacted support for help because it would not let me register my email with my school. Support suggested I try signing up on the website but that produced the same results. What did work was signing up with a different college that had the same email domain as mine. I still had to contact support again to change my college to the correct one since that cannot be done by the user. To top it all off, I tried to go back into the app to login to my now made account but there is no option to log in, just create a new account lol. This app has a lot of fixes that need to be made.

Needs a lot more improvements. I’ve been using this app since graduating in August of 2022. Posted this ending of April 2023. A lot of these jobs aren’t entry level for an app that aims to help college students their first job. It would help knowing how many applicants there are in the process so you know what to expect as far as a response and wait time. Most companies don’t even update the status on your application from pending to declined. Also, when trying to view the multiple locations on a job post through the mobile version, it doesn’t actually show you anything but goes to the employer profile. There are problems loading when the employer decides to upload 2 pages worth of requirements for their job description.

Not very useful as the desktop. Unfortunately the app lacks a lot of stuff the desktop website includes. For example, a lot of the profile sections (such as work experience and GPA) are gone and are blank. You can’t add documents or at least view them. The mobile browser is way better than the app. I only use the app when I’m not home and try to get some applications in while I’m not busy. But unless the application only requires a resume, it’s not worth it.

Clunky and Full of Scams. I have no clue why this app has so many positive reviews and why it’s pushed on students so much. The app constantly crashes, constantly logs me out, fails to load, is FILLED with job listings and “recruiters” that are obviously scams (and also many that aren’t as obvious so you end up wasting more time). There is no clear way to report these listings or “recruiters” — which I’m sure is why it’s a platform they seem to flock to. The filters for actually searching for jobs are generally helpful, but this is useless if you’re still only shown scam listing and receiving phishing messages.

UI is very problematic. I cannot see what I type when adding a description to my job experiences. The description text field is hidden by my keyboard when I tap to type something. What I mean is the field doesn’t move up to allow me to see what I type and also you cannot copy/paste anything either since you can’t highlight or long press in the text field since it’s not visible on screen when typing. This is such a huge oversight and I cannot be descriptive about my experiences which is troubling as potential employers won’t know what I did/do in my past or current experiences which defeats the purpose of this app. Please fix this blatant and critical issue.

Handshake is great except. I’m coming in here to report a problem where when I’m trying to look at the employers that will be present at my school it won’t let me scroll for the whole list. It will jump me to the button where I registered for the event. This is so annoying because I’m simply just trying to look at the employer so I can plan my visits and meanwhile voiceover and I’m taking me to the registration button. I use Handshake on an iPhone 13 with voiceover and would really appreciate if you could fix this. Thank you.

App saying my phone is jail broken??. I just recently clicked on the app to check out some job openings. However it will not let me use the app because it is saying my iphone is Jailbroken, which it is not and never has been. There was recently an update 3 days ago, so I’m not sure if this is a flaw in their new software? I also tried to find someone to contact about the problem and they have no customer service contact outlets, so I decided to comment on here to hopefully bring the issue to attention.

One Star. I downloaded this app with the hopes of finding a better career move. However, upon having this app for over a year, I have been unable to use this app as to what it is intended to be used for. When I first downloaded this app, it worked well, gave a lot of insight on the jobs to come. I was happy. Few months into the app, it started slowing up, crashing, etc. so I checked for an update. If there was an update, I would update immediately. Then, few days later same issues, this time on top of the crashing and slowing up, I would click on an interested job and it would freeze on that particular job and only way to unfreeze the app is to close out the entire app. To this day, I’m annoyed with the app and deleted it completely from my phone. Would I re-download it? Maybe 🤷🏾‍♀️ hopefully it will be less crashing and freezing.

An awful app. This app is one of the worst, most badly designed apps I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. Not only are the filter options on jobs utterly useless, as they don’t filter any useful information one would actually want or need, they don’t even work properly— location specific filters will still show you jobs from around the country, etc. A terrible app that students are nonetheless forced to use by their equally incompetent universities

Problem with Saved Jobs. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with the app. One problem I’ve run into is that the saved jobs that have expired cannot be unfavorited and removed from my saved jobs list. I’m wondering if that’s a bug with the Handshake app?

Amazing work resource. Handshake, Its user-friendly interface and extensive network make it a valuable tool for students and professionals alike. The ability to connect with employers and access a wide range of job and internship opportunities makes Handshake a go-to resource for career development. Additionally, its personalized recommendations and intuitive features streamline the job application process, making it an essential tool for anyone navigating the modern job market.

Site for sales jobs?. “I’ve noticed that you’ve been studying for [insert major here]. Here’s a job totally unrelated but I’ll keep spamming you.” Why isn’t there a function to block people? Why should I have to get notified every time these recruiters send the exact same message? Handshake team, I would really love to see some function on the student/alumni side to block recruiters.

Needs to be a way to block direct messaging from recruiters. This app is basically a way for recruiters to meet their quotas by spamming a bunch of people with jobs that are irrelevant to them. I receive at least two messages a day from out of state recruiters encouraging me to apply to jobs that have nothing to do with my degree. I did enjoy browsing the job postings and sometimes it is a great way to talk with someone directly from a company but I got spammed way more than what it's worth. Also, started getting logged out every single time I closed the app. I get redirected through my school login to get back into the app which is a hassle.

Latest update needs fixing!. Hello, whilst this is a fantastic app and I’ve been using it for a year now, the latest update seems to not allow mobile users to expand the job description. Whenever I click on a job posting, it always trails off with “…” at the end and I cannot find out what the requirements are in order to apply. I’ve been waiting for awhile to see any new updates, but there still is this error. Please kindly fix this error!

Trash Garbage – Less Than One Star. This app infuriates me. Hopefully this scathing review gets the attention of the devs because using this stupid app should not be this frustrating. I download the app and it asks for me email. I type in my school .edu email and wait for the temp password email from this piece of garbage, but because this app is trash, I never receive an email! How the hell am I supposed to take advantage of handshake as an iOS app the same way other students can if I can't even ACCESS IT. There are no options to ask for help, connect with customer service, or any other avenue to be able to get access to my account on the app. Such a shameful design decision.

This app was great at first!. Handshake is easy to use, I like that you can message employers and take to recruiters directly. I got my first internship through handshake and I am extremely grateful. Recently the app has gone down hill. It’s becoming more and more like indeed and LinkedIn. If I search for a role I get jobs that are completely unrelated to the job search or I’m not qualified for. I was under the impression that this app was best suited for students/college graduates looking for entry level roles but many of the roles I’ve seen require 5+ years of experience. I’m not sure if Handshake is trying to appeal to a new market but it’s making it a lot harder to use and enjoy this app. Handshake don’t let us down! Update: I stil LOVE the fact that they never have scam jobs. I can use the app and look for opportunities (although many of them don’t match what I’m looking for) without worrying about if it’s a scam :)

“Something went wrong, please try again.”. I keep getting this message pop up everytime I’m in the app and it can’t find my school in search anymore. I deleted the app and re-downloaded it again and the issue persists stil. The app was working FINE all this time and then this issue idk what’s wrong with it. May 20,2021

App freezes. The website on mobile is incredibly slow and keeps asking you if you want to view the website or get the app so I caved and got the app as the site would freeze up whenever the pop up loaded. The app also freezes- every single time I click on a job posting. It’s a bit of a bummer because on desktop, I find the job listings of the site pretty good and usually contain jobs that are actually related to my career.

Wonderful app but…. I can only say the bad thing about this app is that if you’re not a college student you’re out of luck obviously, would be nice to see if devs figure out a way to make an app or Version in the app for people who aren’t in college and don’t have the ability to go to college but still have the skill set for said jobs. Otherwise this app is wonderful.

Pulling teeth to delete my account. I normally never leave reviews, but this whole experience was a nightmare. It started about 2 months ago when my uni created an account with my uni email. It prompted me to set up notification alerts. I set it to the least amount of notifications I could get. I still got emails almost daily. I tried to delete my account via the link provided in the preference emails to no avail. This week I have gotten emails back to back to back to the point where I was about to contact customer support to figure out why I was still getting them. FAQ’s said you could do it online, false, or via the link provided, false. To delete your account you must download the app and then a link is sent to the support team to approve the account that I never created. If this company allows 3rd parties to register their information then they need to provided a simple and painless way to delete student accounts. Do not use this app. Don’t even look at it or you’ll get an envite to an event 18 hours that had nothing to do with you.

Easy to use. This is a great app. It is easy to use and not overwhelming to look at. I love how they organize jobs in different categories such as by location and category. If you feel you are limited, their filters can help you narrow your search.

Great concept and communication but no follow through. I really enjoy the different aspects of the app however I find when messaging one on one with employers or talent acquisition managers that I can’t click in the chat the links that you’re trying to send to me it always sends a message saying there’s an error and to try again and every time I do it repeats the same message. Then end up having to ask the employer or the person I’m talking to on chat to send me the link separately.

Fix messages and notifications!. Messages in the app are archaic - you can’t delete them, can’t flag those you want to follow up with... rendering this area useless and making it an overwhelming mess. Also, the red flag for notifications on your iPhone will go haywire- reporting unread messages with obnoxious numbers even though they’re read. The purpose of that feature in apps is to alert you to business that needs attention - very annoying that it stays there once reviewed!

Good app, but have feature requests:. Hi, I really like Handshake as a job board and it’s a good app with little bugs. But I do have a lot of suggestions: 1. When looking through my job applications, there’s sometimes no way to go back to previous page after clicking on a link. 2. We should add a way to manually flag job apps as rejected or closed, since they are not always updated. I have a lot of “pending” apps that in reality, the employer rejected over email a long time ago. 3. Please add a way to upload/view our documents in app 4. A “scroll to top” button when looking through job listings Thank you!

Trash app. My school used to work on Symplicity for ministry graduates looking for work. It was initiative, fast, and I could quickly see what jobs were available in my field of interest. Handshake is none of these things. It’s clunky, I don’t even see a tenth of the job listings I saw before, and it’s hard to navigate. I see tons of jobs I’m not interested in, and there’s no way to ignore job ads or slim down my process. I’m not sure why our school uses this thing, and I’m petitioning to go back to the app we used before or something else. As someone who has done development work in the past I can usually be sympathetic but this app is garbage.

Login doesn’t work. Used to be pretty good, but now it just asks me to create a new account even though I already have a .edu with my university. Update: Apparently, my university changed the email to be used with Handshake. It is still the same for receiving emails, but with some added characters for Handshake...some sort of alias perhaps? I don’t know the reason of this, but now it works.

Can't see my messages. I got an email saying I got a response from some I asked about their internship experience, but when I try to look at the message in the app it says I am still waiting for her to accept my message request. I can see the preview of her message in the app, I know she responded! I refreshed multiple times, reset the app, and still nothing. Ridiculous.

Spam Messages & Can't Withdraw. " Your application has already been reviewed and cannot be withdrawn. Please contact your career center if you have any questions. " There's no way to withdraw a job application from within Handshake app. This feature is available on other job search platforms. On top of that, you get spam inbox messages from bots that send mass recruitment messages, even for positions over 100 miles away.

Mid. I won’t bash the application due to the terrible job market and economy. However, this app could be so much better if it didn’t continue having jobs that are no longer hiring. I’ve never run into this problem with any other job app. Do better please, I already like the user interface etc.

Good app. Good app but did have some glitching and problems with my data not being saved but has yet been resolved and I have received an e-mail about it! I updated the app and had worked well for me since then. Would definitely recommend!

Students need this!. This is a phenomenal resource for students looking to develop professional experience. There are a plethora of employers looking to develop candidates who have not had an opportunity to acquire years of experience.

Pretty good thus far. Pretty cool app and very user friendly I feel like I am in a deluxe express line ! I do wish they had more listings in my major though. They have some good ones in there just have to search harder . They do have a recommended listing which helped me a lot :).

Makes it easy to apply for Jobs. Read the title again; it makes it easy to apply for jobs

Spammy. You’ll be contacted repeatedly alongside (who knows how many others) by questionably existent recruiters who personalize a form phishing pitch with links for you to click and compile and who then do not respond to any request for further info or follow-up after that first blanket push to collect their leads. I only used this site because it was mandatory, per school instructions, and ultimately deleted it as the junk mail and botty communications became too much of a nuisance.

Clunky at best. The concept is good but the execution of robust features is severely lacking. Update. I received a response asking me to open a ticket. The request tosses me to a link which makes you go through hoops to get to get to “reach out” to them. I took the time, at their request, to leave a review. I feel the least they could have done was give me a link that could send me directly to someone.

Makes the Challenging Job Search Smoother. Makes it easy to apply, especially when you have your documents uploaded.

Great app, needs iPad compatibility. Handshake is formatted very well on iPhone- easy to navigate, pleasant aesthetic.. but I just wish that they would make a format suited for an iPad. I use my iPad daily as my main productivity hub and would like a version of the Handshake app that is compatible with an iPad screen.

Peace of mind. Handshake offers each student a glimpse of what all of their hard work, and good grade rewards could look like. Students and employers are able to connect, until perfect matches are made!

App and desktop profiles are not synced. When I look at my profile on the desktop view I see my completed information. But when I try to look at my profile on the app, none of my information (work experience, school etc) is showing. Can someone fix this?

Easy for me. I can apply on my phone only because I submitted my application and resume from my computer, so al I can do is add it to their requirements and I have submitted the documents they want. All I have to do is wait for them to respond back 👌🏾

Easy to use. This is as smooth as it can get... if you have you resume updated and know what jobs to apply for, then this is a great way to let employers know you are in the market.

Horrible scrolling. On the iphone, if you scroll down and up all those annoying menus pop up and disappear, making it very annoying to read them at a normal pace. This could be fixed by triggering the feature after a certain amount of scrolling rather than immediately. The info page for each job is text only and is not standardized. It should be standardized.

Crashes on adding location filter. When adding location filter when searching for jobs, the app crashes and closes.

Links in email never open in-app. Why don’t the links to events in email take us straight to the app? Instead they take us to the website, and if you click “open in app” it won’t take you to the page you were looking for, just the home page.

Accessing job listings shared via email is bugged. Title. Trying to access job listings shared via email is bugged with having to use Microsoft Authenticator with College login Asks me to log in every time I try to access a job listing that our school shared with us via email. Each time I try to log in, I am prompted to use the Microsoft Authenticator, which I do. Then nothing happens in the app. If I use an alternative 2FA method successfully, still nothing happens. I’m not automatically directed to the job listing. I have to manually search for the listing via the search bar which is highly inefficient. This does this on 3 separate phones that I’ve tried.

Won’t let me even sign into the app. As soon as you open the app it only gives you the option to log in with a valid school email to receive a temporary passcode or asks if you already have a temporary passcode. But I already have an account so why can’t it just let me sign in like any other app. When I try to use my email that already has a handshake account it says it’s invalid but how’s that possible if I already have an account.

Awesome!. This is one of the best job sites that I have ever visited. The fact that it is linked to my school makes it even more valuable and important to students like me who are looking for a career in their field. All I can say is “AWESOME”!

iPad OS app needed. Feedback to Handshake app designers: It would be great if you design an app that works for iPadOS. Given the larger screen, the app will be better viewed and have more functionality that the iPhone one that works for both devices. Thanks

Great, Just Missing a Needed Feature. Handshake has been a great app to use, literally giving me opportunities at my fingertips. However, there is one feature that needs to be added: some sort of “My Events” section. There is no way for me to see the Events I have registered for already, forcing me to go through the long list of events my university has to offer until I recognize one I registered for. Please add a “My Events” feature and that would be so helpful! Many thanks! -A Grateful College Student

Useless, don’t even bother to download it.. It’s a good app, but 60% of the employees will contact you with a job posting that doesn’t match your background, and the other 40% are companies inviting you to events just to take a picture of you and post it on LinkedIn, pretending they care about inclusiveness. They have to be more selective with that companies are allowed to post on this platform. I feel like I wasted my time on this app.

Freezing. The app is great, if it worked properly again, that is! For months now, I’ve noticed that it freezes after you click to view a job or try to scroll to view a description. The developers have posted about fixing bugs but this keeps happening.

Handshake is the go-to app for college students. The opportunities available on handshake are endless, and we are lucky to have access to it. Social networking is key to our health and prosperity. Thank you Handshake.

People posting videos!. Hello Handshake team. The app is really great. Only thing that’s bothering is that I am seeing short videos on my feed! It will be really sad to see this platform become another LinkedIn, where it’s become more of a social media platform.

Constantly freezing. The app, when it works, allows me to quickly scroll through jobs and bookmark them. The only problem is when I click on a job to look at a description it freezes.

Not useful. I only get alerts/recommendations about random jobs that have nothing (or close-to-nothing) to do with my field of study. There’s nowhere on my profile to specify that I’m not interested in getting messages from for-profit companies, so I changed my settings to “Private” to avoid getting spammed by big corporation recruiters.

Fine arts major solicited for sales positions. I am a fine arts major my degree is in screenwriting. My hope is to work in Cinema in some capacity either being a creative writer, set production work, production assistant etc. I want to work in the film industry. I’ve been out of college since 2016 and the only jobs I can find on Handshake related to my major is volunteer work for free or I am heavily solicited by sales recruiters. I am having zero positive experiences going through Handshake in finding a suitable career.

Love Handshake. I really would like to see a “remote” filter being added to job search as well as in the location section on my job preferences.

Employer App Login. As an employer, I’m disappointed I can’t login via the Handshake app. I’d love the development team to create a way for employer to login and use the app version. This would increase the likelihood businesses and organizations would use Handshake, respond to messages consistently and quickly, and stay connected to potential candidates. Within an app version we rarely use or check Handshake.

Resume issue. For some reason keeps all the uploaded resumes and does allow you to delete the older files or if it isn’t updated you are forced to update it and then rename it. Needs to simply allow users to be able to either delete or remove prospect submissions.

Handshake. I love how convenient and easy this app is. Applying for an internship can be intimidating, but this app makes it a little easier. I think it’s a great idea and that it works well, bringing valuable opportunities to students from big corporations in Corporate America.

New update crashes. The app keeps crashing after the new update when opened through a notification and messages don’t send on the app.

Delete/unsend?. Wish there was an option to delete old messages or unsend messages, kind of like in Teams. Seems silly to have to keep old correspondence from recruiters who don’t respond to you, or not be able to edit/delete messages that weren’t meant to be sent.

No to online schools. They discriminate against students attending online schools. As if those students don’t work hard and deserve jobs and internships the way traditional students do. College is college!! Denying students help when searching for jobs simply based on which institution they attend is really disappointing. Yet students seeking degrees solely online can still use Handshake just because the college also has a campus. What makes that online student different from other online students??

Very confusing and ineffective. Handshake is being used at University of Central Florida. Either the placement office doesn’t know how to use it or the app is poorly designed. I cannot clear the notifications. Most events are useless seminars put on by staff that never result in jobs, but check off a list to stay busy. Recruitment is broken in this country and Handshake is part of the reason why.

Fantastic for Initial Searching. While handshake may not land you a job directly, the application is genuinely incredible at bringing companies and roles to your attention, and providing initial contact information for you to have the best shot at getting the position!

Excellent job resource!. My college career counselor emailed me about Handshake. It took me a while, but I finally began exploring. I found so many opportunities I never would have on my own. And several employers messaged me too! I highly recommend Handshake!

Could be better. I think this app could be much better for the following reasons. First and foremost, allowing ( a college)counselor to decline a resume because they feel they can improve it is just wrong. I uploaded a resume that a VP of an oil company helped me write and it was declined by said counselor. Take that power away from them. Second, way too many crashes. This is obviously an ongoing problem that other reviewers have mentioned.

Bugged. Unusable if you go to Purdue. My school requires a verification app to login to my school email. But when I use the verification app to approve the login, handshake closes out and asks me to login again.

Doesn’t work. I’m job hunting as an alumni and I still have and use my edu email it never sends the link for the mobile app but I had no problem setting up my profile on the regular computer site. Faulty!

Worst Job App Ever Created. The app crashed the first 6 times I tried to post a job. It continually loses my data. The University took over a week to review my posting and then once the posting was approved the app didn’t automatically post the job and now the posting is lost and has to be done again. Additionally, this app needs some serious streamlining. It shouldn’t require so many steps to post a job. Incredibly frustrating.

Good but need this feature. It is a good app but I am always frustrated when I get messages from companies that are out of my interest. I’d like to swipe right and delete the message like you can delete an email but there is no option to delete it. I am not sure why this is not a feature yet.

Browser Mode. If we have to externally apply please allow us to open the page in our preferred browser. Look to LinkedIn and Gmail to see good examples of this. Aside from that pretty smooth.

Can’t change major and app crashes. This app is decent, but my major shows up as Mathematics when in reality I’m double majoring in Mathematics and Physics. This can be pretty misleading to employers. I tried changing it but there is no way to do so. Also, when going to the search tab for jobs/internships, clicking on a job always crashes the app.

Your App Crashes (latest update). Please get help for the app, so this is not the only place I must turn to. Btw, I deleted, reinstalled, turned off phone and waited beforehand and it still crashes upon ‘opening’. And I searched ‘crashing’ on the help feature of the app. I saw 7 year old results (not relevant if you were curious).

I love this app so much. Save time filling out individual applications with the usage of this app. Instant connection to great opportunities at a touch of a fingertip. I have benefitted greatly from using this app. Try it out if you haven’t!

Still Useless. The app is a complete BS and so is the support. A year ago I told them about the sign up link they are emailing, which the link most of the time is broken. After one year still the same issue. And i don’t understand why you need to send a link dude. If you cannot develop a proper app i know people who can teach you. This is one of simplest app platforms and if you cannot figure this out to work sufficiently then you need to go another job, just saying 😉
