Amazing app, but Update 2.0 is very confusing. Old comment: The new 2.0 update has made this app completely confusing. Many functions don’t work as they have previously. Create lines from text doesn’t even react. What a heartbreak. New comment: I received a notification that this issue has been resolved. My only complaint is that the app has been so thoroughly redesigned that many functions assume intuitive knowledge, rather than utilizing previously taught functions. For example, the alt function changed to two icons displaying two shapes and a clipboard(?) to mean copy and paste? Why not just have the words showing? With all of these new changes, a user guide and accompanying tutorials have yet to be published. Ultimately, the app is fantastic for being free (seriously, incredible) however if we’re reviewing this honestly, then the above is what I have to say.

Auto Trace Feature: It’s a Start. Everything Else about Vectornator is great. I just want to focus on the most exciting feature: Auto Trace. The Good: At least you have taken an interest in Bitmap to Vector conversion, and that means you will be upgrading and making this better and better, hopefully beating Adobe Illustrator. The Bad: You got a long way to go. The image results I have gotten with my hi res images shows a lot of choppiness and inconsistencies in the trace. Looks nothing like your demo video. At All. This needs more settings and options; just like Illustrator. You have to have those options to help get a clean perfect trace. I think you have over sold and underdelivered on your feature. However, this is the first time ANYONE developing for iOS has taken Bitmap to Vector seriously. The guy who does Imaengine does Bitmap to Vector but has no intention on making his tool for serious use. Yet his lines are so smooth! Take a look at Imaengine and see what you could learn from that app. Bottom line; so glad you have taken the challenge of making a proper Auto Trace app/feature for the iOS design community.

Great app, and it’s still being updated!. It’s easy to draw in and I like that it resembles a traditional desktop app. The best thing about it is you can send files directly to Illustrator. Also it supports cmyk which is really helpful if you make prints. A few suggestions, though: It would be nice if pressure sensitive brush strokes made with the Apple Pencil were editable like other strokes, as I use them a lot in my artwork, and it would also be good if you could choose the resolution of exported jpegs and pngs. It looks like they only export at screen resolution. Anyway, it’s a relief to find a vector illustration app for iPad that is still being updated by the developers. I had been considering looking for a different drawing tablet before.

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is such a high-quality app with so many features, I can’t believe it’s free! As a broke grad student this is my go-to app for all art assignments. But the best part is the support staff and customer service! I had a project that made the app crash every time I tried to open it, and I was panicking because the assignment was due in just a few days. I submitted a crash report without expecting anything to come of it, but the NEXT DAY I got an email saying they were working on an update for the app AND they said if I wanted to send them the file, they would manually fix it for me! And then the next day after that, they released an update to the app that fixed crashing. Vector art is time consuming and labor intensive, so it is a relief to know how supportive the customer service team is in case any issues arrive. You guys are the best!!!

I can’t imagine my life without this. I’m a 3 year graphic designer/ illustrator on adobe I and 8 year editor for colloguing edits. not only can u do graphic design but also colloguing I've never been happy to find something this great after Adobe I doesn't work well with mobile i needed something great to work with this went beyond my exceptions. yes if u r a editor for aesthetic breakers this app does have that which was something i was looking for. you guys saved me from longer work it took me some time to understand wat im working with but thats every editing app just takes time. Edit: what I would absolutely enjoy that I truly miss is ombré and a better blend. The blend right now isn’t the best and every tutorial doesn’t have wat I’m looking for.

Phenomenal app, but not for me. If you’re new to graphic design, this app has an INCREDIBLY steep learning curve and it took me twenty minutes just to intuitively understand and remember all the buttons, settings, and options. It’s very serious — probably for businesses and institutions or computer engineers. You have to read the tutorial. It’s also highly optimized and has no ads. The design of this app is gorgeous. It talks about Gaussian blur and other things that require calculus and statistics or something lol. You can create multiple instances of the same app side by side. They also give you options to use apple’s array of icons. They really worked with the developers on this one. Im not the target audience. I’m just here to check out the animation/graphic design apps for my new iPad Air lol. I want procreate, but that costs money. I believe this is the next best thing. It might even be better; idk 🤷🏿‍♂️ It’s complicated for me, though. I just wanted to create a sketch animation. Back to flip-a-clip it is🌝

Fantastic, especially for a free app!. I really just got this to help me create smooth outlines for stickers, and though it’s a bit tricky to learn the website has really helped me! The only reason I take off one star is because, to my knowledge, you can’t change the size of a canvas after it’s been created. This just makes it hard for me to save files at a good quality, especially if I'm trying to save individual stickers from one canvas, since I have to convert them back to PNGs to save them to my camera roll. If this is or does become possible I would definitely upgrade to 5 stars! Edit: Thanks a ton! I will keep my promise then, and upgrade my review. The fact that the developers are so responsive, as I’ve noticed in other reviews also really helps in that decision :)

Magnetic snap. I love Vectornator. I use it almost every day. There is one issue I see. You can turn on snapping to make it easier to align towards stuff. This is really handy but it is flawed:(. One direction either up or down works great. It eventually snaps like you would expect then you have to worry about the other direction. That snaps just fine as well but then you have lost the other direction:(. You need to be able to snap the corners of things to so you have more functionality with snapping. You can’t snap easily in both directions at the same time. Either the first snap needs to stay snapped so you can line up the other direction or it would be nice to snap the corners which would help in both directions for any object

Amazing, but a few things.... Ok first off this app is the BEST free graphic app I have ever tried in my 5+ years with a iPad I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to make graphics on their iPad. However: Comparing it to other applications workflow like Adobe XD its tools are VERY unintuitive, like you have everything at your fingertips but at the same time I find myself making a lot of mistakes because I accidentally made four squares because my hand brushed up against the screen. Also I love the addition of art boards, being a UI aspirant this helps so much seeing as there aren’t that many good UI apps for iPad. My suggestion, make the tools more intuitive. Look at Adobe XD for example, its simple, fast to prototype with and is easy to learn. I would be using this app 80% more if it had some more features geared towards UI development. - Also something I noticed today: When working sideways the text does wonky things when trying to resize. Stay safe, social distance. -A fan of vectornator

Vectornator is the best. I’ve been using Vectornator for years now. Each update adds so much more to the app. It is simply beautiful. I work with vinyl graphics (Vehicle wraps, t-shirts, murals…and on and on). It’s a shock to people when they ask what big name program I use to design a graphic on (Adobe, Corel…etc). None of those I tell them, something better. And it fits in my pocket. I’ll usually open up Vectornator and walk them through some layers real quick to really drive the point home. You don’t need a overpriced subscription to achieve some amazing results. A little learning curve to learn what everything does, your imagination is the only thing holding you back after that. Fantastic program, keep up the amazing updates. Worthy of way more that five stars!

Some functions are missing. Vectornator is a very complete app for designing with vectors. However it lacks tutorials and manuals to use the tools. I had a hard time figuring out how to turn smooth nodes into edge nodes or making a perfect circle/square. One of the features that I miss most, comparing this app to Inkscape,is the ability to distribute and align nodes. Also it would be nice to be able to apply gradients on strokes. The exclusion and divide function are also quite confusing, at least for me, since the “holes” inside the form will act as completely different paths sometimes. Overall its a great app. I also love the fact that one can search an icon from icons8 which makes it easier to transform the paths rather than to create a form from scratch.

This has saved me thousands of $$$. I have a small, new business (lavender farm and essential oil based products) and we are constantly making new products/tweaking recipes as we grow. Having this app and learning how to create PNG’s for our labels has saved me so much money. Being able to change a design on my iPad, upload directly to Google drive and print on my label printer has been one the main reasons for my success. My designs are always fresh, up to date, and I can change directions on a dime thanks to Vectornator. It’s intuitive, has loads of features and is an all around great app. Oh, did I mention it’s free?! I promise I’m not paid to say this, but even if they charged for the app, I would pay it and be happy to do so! There are a few things that annoy me sometimes...but i can’t remember them right now. 😂 Nothing is perfect, but Vectornator is darn near close to it.

Love it.. I just found this app about 1 year ago and love it. The ability to have multiple art boards open is a huge benefit over Inkscape. I just custom made two fonts (two versions of two fonts) over the past two weeks. This was because the font making program was not easy to use but could import SVG files for the fonts. Had about 300 art boards open at one time for about 150 characters. Unfortunately i want to embed the fonts and may need to use Word which does not play nice with SVG files. Looking for a workaround now. I just read the review from 6 months ago who said this was too complex. I disagree 100%. It took me a day to figure out to unclick the fill and only use the stroke to quickly create shapes and lines like I used to do in MS word. After that it was very intuitive and very powerful. In addition to making fonts, I made a coat of arms. Will also start making clip arts for books. 2 year update. I still love this app. I used it to create two different fonts. Each required to creation of about 150 artboards for the characters to export to a font generator program. I also made a file with over 100 clip arts I expect to use later. 1 year update. I am now working on an art style to project to improve my drawing skills to illustrate my own book. How items are grouped has been much improved to help work flow.

Fantastic app for teaching. I am using Vectornator to teach basic graphic design to a small high school class. We were very lucky to get access to a small class set of Apple Pencils and iPads. Since I am not a professional designer, I was worried about finding a program that I could learn in order to teach, and that the students would really enjoy creating with while they learned. Vectornator is simply amazing! It has succeeded far beyond what I hoped for. The students can do so much with the app, and get really professional-looking results. They are totally engaged for the entire class period. Their skills are increasing daily. But most of all, I think they’re having fun! This is the most fun teaching I’ve had in a while too. I have used the app for a school logo I was asked to create, and I was extremely pleased with the results. I know I’m going on and on, but truly - it has been a wonderful teaching experience. I highly recommend Vectornator for beginners and education - it’s user-friendly enough for the classroom, but advanced enough to get great-looking results. Thank you Vectornator!!

The Best Yet. Wow this is impressive, and can’t wait to play around with it a bit more. I have a software background, and find this more intuitive than most desktop programs. My only suggestion or comment would be that after several hours of use, I am still unsure what a couple buttons do, but I’m not a designer, and there are tutorials in the settings menu that I haven’t gotten around to. This is an issue I have with most desktop programs, and I’m on an iPhone, so it’s not like I can hover, and there’s isn’t enough room to label everything. Maybe it would benefit to have an interactive overlay pointing out, and explaining a handful of buttons that confuse the most users; one that can be turned off. Or maybe a brief pop up of some sort that shows the name of the tool when selected, then fading away. I’d still give the intuitiveness a 9.5/10, where other comparable apps wouldn’t get 5/10. But that’s me being very picky, especially seeing as how this is easier than many desktop programs, and with the amount of features available, they’ve have an excellent job with the UI. Thanks for this, by far my favorite design app; can’t wait to see what’s next.

Really wanted to like this app. I really wanted to like this app but it keeps glitching. I typically use a pixel based app to draw my pictures and then when I want to print them for stickers I transfer them over to Vectornator so that they aren’t blurry. My canvas keeps going blank after I add a new photo and click off of it to add another one so I have to keep closing the app and going back in after 1 or 2 photos and occasionally have to turn my iPad off to get it to work. Sometimes it doesn’t even show some of the pictures I drew after it glitches. Sometimes it also will give me trouble with adding the photo. It will just show up as a tiny empty box in the top corner of the app instead of showing up with the picture in the middle where I can adjust the size. It should’ve taken me 30 mins to upload the photos but it’s taken at least 2 hours or so and I’m only 2/3 of the way done and it’s stressing me out. It’s still a good app to use if you want to make something vectorized vs pixelated!

really awesome!. i'm an amateur graphic designer, who's currently a student. i make my own printables and things for japanese and study calendars, as i'm a very visual person. i had been using procreate, but found that the lack of vectors made my designs crappy. i began searching for an iPad vector program, and this app was the first one that i found. i downloaded it, but didn't expect much from it - i was so wrong! vectornator is my new favorite art program, it's so simple to learn, yet it can create complex things. i've already created two things in the few days that i've had it: a november study calendar and a table on japanese hours. they look great (at least, to me - haha)! thank you!

Wonderful design tool. As a professional designer / illustrator, yes we all agree it’s important that design tools are robust with features- but sadly too many products still lack the user delight aspect. It’s a godsend that some companies are willing to put work into a pleasant environment. We sit in front of these tools all day, so it’s great when these tools are fun to use, delightful to stare at, at the same time giving you a good amount of features to complete your projects. There are probably plenty of other pros that will whine about the lack of feature set compared to other iPad apps, so I’m not going to get into lengthy comparisons. All I’ll say is this: since my first iPad, I’ve used a competitor that is almost as robust as Adobe Illustrator and I’ve been relying on it until now. Sadly, it’s also as depressing to use as Illustator. I think tools that are both useful and a pleasure to use, are vital.

Simply amazing. First to start off I am not a professional but do have an interest in graphic design with a background in architectural design. This app gives me all the tools and functionality to my get ideas down extremely easily. I especially appreciated the amount of learning resources that are available. I managed watching through all the instructional videos over an afternoon, and it really set me up o hit the ground running. Thank you for making this available to us without having us pay the subscription prices that adobe does. But you go even further and made it free. It’s unbelievable that it is actually.

Awesome app until the IOS14 update. This app was awesome but now after I updated to the new update for iOS 14 I feel like some stuff doesnt work. I can’t change the size of a text box after I make it. The node tool is suppose to change it but I can only select it. The selection tool also doesnt do anything. It just shows the anchor points but I can’t select them or select anything else. I have to change off of it to do anything. I thought the node tool adds anchor points if you wanted but it won’t do a single thing aside from being able to move it. EDIT: So it seems that on one of the things I was working on before and after the update was having the problem. Right after the update I started working on it again and I was having the issues with the selection tool not being able to do anything along with the other stuff but I just tried again and it’s perfect. So I’m not sure what the issue was but it’s good now. Maybe the update just needed time? One thing I m wondering though is if a shortcut or another way to input trademark (and things like it) logos. I tried doing it (I have an iPad) and it just disappears when inputted. I checked the color and everything, it takes up the space for a symbol but isn’t there.

Truly Outstanding! How do I donate?. Recently, my last few Apple AP store purchases have been disappointing, some were paid apps with no demos and no refunds! I will never buy another app without a demo option! That said, your app is nothing short of amazing! I have never used an app with such attention to detail and great documentation that helped me get up to speed quickly with so little experience on my new MIniMac M1. The cost was a real plus since I am newly retired and don’t have much in the budget now, but I want to support you as much as possible, so please send me info on how to donate to your project. I am so glad I found this gem of a product!

Working better and more stable since iOS16. More complicated feature rich apps such as ArtStudio Pro and Vectornator suffered from instability and crashing around the time of earlier iOS versions which could not make use of the full ram capabilities of the iPad Pro. I thought it was my iPad Pro being old so i bought a newer one, and then an even newer one. But I think it was an operating system thing because being now on iOS 16, these drawing apps which seem to offer Adobe desktop software abilities (which Adobe hasn’t even been able to offer in their own iOS apps) are becoming more stable. I’ve kept coming back always having faith in knowing stability would improve and it did! As iOS opens up to allow apps to take advantage of full ram capabilities of the iPad Pro maxed out hardware. Keep up the good work devs.

Not the "Blob Brush" I hoped for 😟😟. The app so for seems pretty good but honestly, for me, the inking brush or "Blob Brush” (whatever you want to call it) is just not up to the level I was hoping for. When I read that one of the improvements was going to be to the Brush engine because it was now going to recognize Pencil pressure, I was pumped! But sadly it is nowhere near functioning level. The pressure is not read accurately, you can not get a thin to thick stroke. You only get this partially “thinner” stroke to a wildly thick stroke when you apply pressure. The Blob Brush for Adobe Illustrator iPad is now working great, just like the desktop. That’s how Vectornator’s brush should work. If you all get that right, this app will be GOLDEN! Until then, it’s still not a fully usable app, which stinks because I really am rooting for the Vectornator team.

Size lock seems useless. I love Inkscape, and I really want to love this app. Just going through the tutorial, the first thing I noticed is that the size lock doesn’t seem to work. I would think when the lock is in lock position, any change to the size of a shape or other object would be proportional. That lock doesn’t seem to do anything. Also, I t would also be great if there was some thing like a New File or New Document right on the front of the screen, rather than that X to save. I don’t want to save all this stuff on my tablet! I want to be able to easily click on a new file or new document or new some thing and maybe be prompted to see if I wanted to save what was there, but then I have the screen clear ready for a new session. Still getting used to it, but it’s kind of like slogging through mud at this point.

A few bugs using the latest iPadOS beta. This is a great app. Lately I'm seeing quite a few crashes though. Also, I'm now unable to use the direct selection tool to move a control handle independently. If I try to adjust the handle with the Apple pencil while holding one finger down, it now rotates the entire canvas. The other options of the direct selection tool in the toolbar (Multiple selection, rotate and resize) work fine. Double tapping a control point toggles between smooth curve and sharp corner as it should. There's just no way to move one control handle without the opposite one moving as well. Trying to resize pro move a text box sometimes makes the box collapse into a thin vertical column. Also, using in iPad mini 5 landscape mode, the keyboard obscures some of the fields where I'm trying to write text or rename a file so I can't see what I'm typing. Did the beta break something?

Good app but can be better. I personally love this app. The only problem I have been finding myself with is that learning the tools can be quite tricky after multiple updates and there isn’t a tutorial on what each item. I’ve learned to make use of what I can but what really bothers me is that I can’t use any of my videos to draw over or make any moving animations. I don’t know if this is a just me problem of everyone is having this problem. If it is just me can the makers please contact with me and tell me what to use? Thank you. I do love the app and find it very professional and useful in my drawings. ☺️❤️

Really dig the app. Really really like the app, but it gets finicky when you work on a file for a bit. I think it’s a memory thing or something. I can exit a file, go back in and it runs smoothly for a few moves then gets finicky again. Mainly right now for me it’s the the bezeir curves and manipulating the points, things start to snap at certain degrees when I don’t want them to, even with all the “snap to” options turned off. The UI is pretty intuitive, not hard to find things. There are a few features missing from the tool kit I’m used to, big one for me is a shear tool or a skew tool. I don’t remember there being a gradient mesh tool or an array tool, but I could be wrong. Features do eventually get added if there’s enough interest for it which is awesome. It has definitely gotten more stable over the year or so I’ve had it. Starting to miss Adobe Illustrator less and less. This app has the potential sit next to or even move pass Illustrator.

Great until annoyingly slow new version 4.13.5. Just upgraded to the new version 4.13.5 released last night on my iPad Pro 12.9”. What a disappointment. Every movement is jerky. Just changing the name of a file took several minutes — an intrusive white circle kept popping up getting in the way. They pop up everywhere. Every action is delayed. Clicking on nodes to move them around is weirdly unresponsive until fiiiiinally it responds. Vectornator was so responsive and easy to use until last night’s change; now it’s a time consuming buzzkill to my workflow. I thought the new version was supposed to be an improvement. So much for that. How do I get back to the last release? Rating would have been 5 stars until yesterday. Sadly the new release gets only 2.

Never Going Back to Adobe Again!. I was only looking for a new program because the iPad Version of Photoshop is TRASH. It’s a early stage Beta that they charge for, but they don’t bother telling you its a beta. They call it real Photoshop. It cant even do CMYK. I bought the iPad Pro instead of new MacBook Pro based on full Photoshop being available. I have a business and often do my own graphic design. Anyway, after wasting a week trying to work around all the limitations, like no CYMK, I decided to look for another program available in the iPad. I’m so glad I found Vectornator! I used it to replace PS, but really it functions like Illustrator. I learned to use it over the weekend and made 2 detailed roll up banners and some marketing postcards. I can’t believe it’s free … I know it wont be for long and I’ll be more than happy to pay for it. Please make a PDF document product next!

Easily in my top 5 fav apps. Rarely do I see such near perfection and solid attention to detail in an application. Linearity did such an excellent job here on interface design and functionality. Also, from my experience, is virtually bug and crash free. I’ve only been using this app for a week now and I am truly confident this tool will remain in my essentials. A pure joy to work with on the 12.9” iPad Pro with Apple Pencil especially. To be completely honest, I have little to no experience in vector illustration but Vectornator is so freakin intuitive it’s not even an issue. I can create whatever my heart desires. It’s really easy to pick up as you go if you’re a novice. That is a huge plus for me but I feel advanced users will love it even more. So many features packed into a professional iOS app it’s mind blowing what you can do. I can see myself making some very complex designs in the coming days.

Awesome!. There are a couple quirks (can’t edit points after subtracting a path from above) and it has crashed on me randomly a few times (still trying to determine the common thing I’m doing when it crashes). Overall it is a phenomenal app! I have illustrator on my desktop and MacBook but this app is great to accomplish the beginning stages of the things I need to do. I’ll still have to use illustrator for the final stages of production (wide format printing and cutting) but for getting the majority of the project accomplished 👌🏼 (Take my opinion about the editing of points after subtracting with a grain of salt, I’m still green to the app so I could just be missing something)

Pretty good but... Ok, so the app is pretty cool, but there a few issues. One of the big ones is rotation. Unless I don’t realize what I’m doing, when you rotate, the bounding box changes. So now you can’t keep the shape correct if you change size, after rotating, because the bounding box changes. Also, when you open up the tab at the bottom to change fills and add shadows, all that stuff, you can’t see what it’s doing to your shape. You have to constantly go out of it to see what’s happened. I think a lot of people are like me, and tend to eyeball things. At least at first. Fix these few things, and add in-app tutorials, or at least a link, to show us what all the buttons do, and this app will be fantastic. I’ll change my rating for sure. Please correct this stuff, AT LEAST the rotation issue, because it makes the app pretty unusable for me otherwise.

Not sure what to think. This appears to be a very powerful tool that for reasons I have yet to understand is given away for free. My iPad mini 5 is on iOS 14.7. I created a letter-size doc and created a few circles and lines, so far so good. When I try to insert a text box, however, I only get to even see it if I set the point size to 1 point, at that setting it appears as what I would think is about 20 point, which is bizarre. I cannot resize that text box. I can edit it, but only with a cursor that appears to be 500 point size. Meanwhile, I can zoom out and in, but the zoom setting always stays at 999%. I have a feeling that those issues are all connected, but the result is that at the moment I cannot use this promising tool at all because of these frustrating issues. I the above issues (which I cannot believe would have slipped through testing but are caused by API changes or whatever) get resolved I’ll be more than happy to upgrade my rating to the 4 or 5 stars it appears to deserve.

Cool, but now that I've been using Graphic, it doesn't preform as well.. This app is great. Don't get me wrong. However, the UI is a little, well, everywhere, kinda obtrusive, and I'd say more designed as a drawing app - which, this is a vector application. It has a grid feature, but it doesn't have an option where you can snap objects to the grid. I'm keeping this app because of it's sticker feature in iMessages, but other than that if your looking for graphic design, I'd go with Graphic. I also couldn't find a way to adjust the pen tip for the paint pen, it's always fully round, another feature that I hope is added. If you're diving in to vector drawing or graphic design, this is a great app to start with. But me, I'm going to stick with graphic. I'll update this review though if I find features or other stuff. I am really glad there is a developer out there that has made a vector graphics app for free.

Needs symmetry added. Been using the app for a good 4 years now and I can say that I have watched this app develop into something great but it has its flaws. With the new updates it seems like tools in the tool bar are constantly shifting and rearranging making it hard to work when you have the tool bar memorized. I think it would be great if you could edit the tool bar to your liking like illustrator allows you to do. Besides that there is constant issue with joining paths. Whenever I join paths it creates a loop rather then creating a sleek transition. When I first began using the app that wasn't an issue. I have grown to accept it but something must have been done to make that change happen. Besides this the app is missing one very important thing which is a symmetry drawing option. Where any line our curve your make is then replicated besides it for complete symmetry. This would incredibly improve my use of the app entirely since I mostly make symmetrical art for character designs. Either way the app is great for something this is free. I do miss the older versions of the past but I have adapted the constant changes the app keeps on giving.

Auto Trace Disaster. This “feature” is absolutely useless. I drew some simple line drawings in procreate and got this app because I thought it would be a nice, quick way to convert them to vectors. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Firstly, when I try to optimize the settings BEFORE hitting auto trace, it completely overrides the options I’ve set once I actually do hit auto trace. Speaking of settings, what settings are actually being used in auto trace?? It automatically changes my pre-set “no fill, black stroke only” settings to “black fill, no stroke” but when I turn “fill” off then turn it back on it fills the whole shape? So is fill or stroke being used?? Next, it makes up lines that don’t exist in empty space, and randomly curves lines that are clearly straight lines that come to a point. I would understand this sort of hiccup if I was using colors that were close to the background color, but with black lines on a white background?! Even in the videos on their website they have settings that don’t exist in the actual released product, and jump-cuts that probably hide the 45 minutes it took to get the results. I’m disappointed in this product and myself for falling into the trap of another company releasing something that doesn’t do what it’s advertised to do.

What I’ve been looking for!. I’ve had my iPad Pro for 3 years and finally discovered an alternative to adobe illustrator that works well enough with my Apple Pencil to actually get work done. Intuitive for anyone who has used illustrator, this app is cleanly designed and easy to use. I’m very impressed with its performance and simplicity, so much that I think I can get detailed work done! One thing I’d request in future versions is art boards. Within the pen tool (thank you for prioritizing bezier pen functionality!), adobe illustrator allows the user to hold the space bar to translate the current entity while drawing the next point in the path. Is this function already here somehow? Anyway, this is a very impressive tool I will be using extensively. Thank you to the developer for your work on this!

Missing my magnifier!. First, I want to say that I absolutely LOVE this app. It’s been a great way for me to start getting into vector art and graphic design. The new update is so good—I love all the new tools and the clean organization. Five-star rating well earned. But! I really miss the little magnifier that would pop up when you were doing something like dragging a vector point on a curve or the corner of a shape. Please bring it back?? It was so helpful for getting things lined up, especially when using the Pen tool to trace a shape from an image. EDIT: Thanks to Linearity for the response! I've already seen you guys respond to several feedback requests, so I have full trust that you'll act on this one as well. Best support from developers I've seen on any app in a long time.

Really great design app. So far I have really liked this app! It’s like an AI lite on your phone! I have been looking for an app that has a pen tool and this one does and it works very well. I do a lot of designing on my phone and this app has been invaluable in helping me create! You can export in SVG, PNG. My only criticism is it does seem to be a bit buggy. Some of the menus can disappear and once or twice the app has closed on me. The add text option has never worked, but no biggie I can add that in on another app. I am still learning all of the different things you can do, but I do not see a way to fill in objects. The stroke fill doesn’t really work if you have a complex shape. But all in all this app is awesome and just what I was looking for!

Almost Perfect. I absolutely love this app. It has been revolutionary in my life. The logical layout, the attention to details, and the frequent and meaningful updates are just some of the things that make this my go to app over all others. I would definitely give it five stars except for one little snag. After editing a file, part of my workflow is that I often need to jump out of that file and into a related one. I used to be able to do this quickly on older versions, but now, before it will let me open another file, it seems to have to go through an extended period of saving the changes to the one I just exited. This is only true for files that are saved to iCloud, but for me, that’s all of them. It appears as though it saves itself several times over before it finally allows me to open another file. On more than a few occasions, when I’ve had something important to complete, or I was in a major creative vibe, the lag caused from this has made me just close the app in frustration. I probably need to do a better job of regulating my emotions 😂, so I’ll work on that if you guys will help me out with the “endless saves before I can open another file problem”. Ok? Thank you for this amazing app. I’m not kidding when I say it has changed my life by making my creative process completely mobile like no competing app was ever able to.

Holy Mack! 4.6.0. This new update changes EVERYTHING including how I feel about my device! The iPad Pro (3rd Gen) was marketed as being such a leap from previous models that it could replace one’s computer. Disappointingly, I never found this to be true. There are just too many holes when it comes to multitasking and the functional ways that applications operate when running in the background. (For example you’re more likely to lose certain abilities if your work sits in the background for more than a couple minutes. Picking back up often happens as a full relaunch of the app.) That said there are things the iPad can do that a barebones MacBook Pro can’t, and this new update adds to that tremendously (for me anyway)! I guess I can still use my MacBook as a doorstop. THANK YOU for making an amazing app even better! I KNOW it took a lot of work to improve something that frankly wasn't broken. But in a world where app development seems to be about bare minimums and looking past flaws, this update truly blew me away. I want to sing about it from the hills and yet, I feel I have no one to sing about it to, because no one will understand or care! 🥲

darn fine tool. This is a very high quality vector graphics tool that offers a great deal of flexibility. Not only can layers be locked, but it is possible to lock individual objects within a layer, which can be very helpful. There are a few weaknesses, but they are few and far between. The one particular thing that slows me down is that the color picker always comes up in the HSB box mode – I tend to favor the slider mode, which is a tap away, but there is no way to make it come up the way you want right off. Text editing could be better: when one double taps on a text box, edits and then taps out of the box, it stays in the text tool, often putting up a new box, when it should just revert to the previous (select) tool. Also, at present, there is a bug that prevents text boxes from being resized by the handles.

Great full featured with a few flaws and bugs. I’m not a designer by trade but recently started as a hobby. I’m surprised just how fully featured this app is, I’ve payed for other vector apps that don’t provide nearly as much tools and functionality. It has an icon search tool that has a ton of vector images to inspire new creations. The only flaws I can point out are some Bugs that cause crashing, which fails to save sometimes and you lose work. Also refreshing of the UI isn’t always consistent. In general I think the creators should focus on reducing the amount of clicks to do common tasks. The eye dropper tool copies both stroke and fill so if you’re trying to set a fill to a stroke color that isn’t supported. If things improve I’d say this is an app that I wouldn’t mind buying, but I think the bugs do hinder things a bit, but otherwise I love using it.

Delete button???. I just started using this app a few days ago for a project and I had just gotten used to the flow. I just got the update today and a lot has changed, which I can adjust to, but it seems like the delete button is gone?? I know when you tap a shape it pops up, but I had been using it to delete single nodes when I tap them and the pop up menu does not show up. I also know you can mass delete nodes to simplify a curve, but that is not what I need, nor is the eraser tool. Removal of the delete button seems like a mistake — has it just been relocated and I can’t find it? It used to be under the ellipses button. I have a deadline with this project and it is pretty much impossible for me to do what I need to do (highly detailed illustration) without a plain old delete button. I’d go back to the old version if I could. Please help 😓😞

A few glitches, but overall a great app!. I use this app for complex graphical design work, and I am consistently impressed by its power and versatility! The number of layers supported, detail and accuracy, and complex function support is truly impressive. There are a few glitches, most concerning of which is when the app will stop saving your work, leading to deletion of several steps if the drawing is exited. I’ve found a way around this, by duplicating the artwork before exiting, to stop the work from being deleted. However, it would be great if this glitch was fixed. I gave this app 5 stars because of its incredible potential and usefulness, especially for a free app. I absolutely recommend this app, I just recommend careful duplication to protect your work from deletion!

Everything it has is easy to use. I absolutely love this app, and i hope you keep updating it. It could use some more preset brushes or stamps, and some more features too, such as built in tilt recognition. Otherwise, very good for beginners. I actually switched to procreate, but i dont have an Apple Pencil nor can i afford one, and yet the app has a lot of things that require it, meanwhile Vectornator is more friendly for the things i work with, but the reason why i switched to pro-create is because i wanted to get more out of graphic design. Then i got a notification that said “we really miss you! Why did you stop using Vectornator?”😭😩🥹 So that is kinda why im not using it anymore but it just got an update so I’ll try using it more! (not because the notification that was wholesome)

Finally!. If you’re coming from an Adobe Illustrator background and find you just can’t seem to get the hang of most drawing apps, this is the one you want. It has tons of options, the interface is highly intuitive and responsive without feeling too cluttered, and you can’t beat the price (free). I’m a casual user who creates simple drawings to supplement the flash cards I make, so I haven’t put it through all of its paces, but I’m impressed with everything I’ve seen so far. The only minor points that have frustrated me so far are when I have trouble grabbing a gradient bar handle (I kept accidentally shifting my shape, but using a drawing pencil solved that problem), and remembering to find the anchor point handle options under the paintbrush menu. Otherwise, it’s been smooth sailing, right from the start.

This app is really great but it has some bugs and needs a couple features. The little previews in the layers panel barely ever work, most of the time theyre just gray squares. Sometimes the bar at the top of the layers menu disapears, and then theres no way to close it except closing the document, and opening again. Ill change to 5 stars if you fix these. Some features that id like to see are grouping, and stroke placement. Right now you can only combine paths. This'll isnt useful if theyre overlaping, because it uses the inner one to cut out the middle of the other one. I just want to be able to move multiple objects as one when i drag them. Also it would be really helpful to be able to place the stroke on, inside, or outside the path. You can do this now but its a lot of work, and you lose the original path. You have to make copies of everything in case you change your mind.

Not bad for vector art on mobile!. Still wish it had some more elements for precision, like mirroring or flipping. I don’t see a way to add direct value inputs for position and size so far, which is generally important to me. I can almost fully complete one of the projects I typically create in Illustrator or Photoshop (using vector in the latter). Touch commands are also pretty comfortable. I still need to try exporting to AI, and seeing how it translates, but if it works out well, I’ll be able to start some of my simpler projects on the go! Maybe someday I’ll be able to do it all entirely, with a little more patience. Been using it on the smaller of the iPhone 7 models. I bet it’s even more comfortable on iPad, but it’s still great, even on the small screen. Props!

Super Feature-Rich!. As a long time user of desktop design and illustration apps, I can especially appreciate how much functionality the developers have put into this app. The tools all do what you expect, with all the control you need, but the user experience is completely intuitive. If you’ve used apps like Illustrator or Inkscape, you’ll be productive immediately. If you are a novice, you’ll pick up the nuances very quickly thanks to the application’s straightforward design. This is now one of my go-to tools when I have serious work to do! Thank you for sharing this wonderful app and for all the hard work you’ve put into it!

Love it for concept art. took me a bit to figure it out, but i absolutely love it sometimes it close’s on me but my work is always saved. definitely recommend to my art friends:)

Now forces account creation at startup. It was only a matter of time. Now it is impossible to even start the application without creating a (free (for now)) account on Linearity’s cloud service. I saw this coming the moment Vectornator was rebranded as Curve. Might as well delete the app now. Thanks for all the years, Vectornator.

Love the app. Love using this app. Make designing images so easy Would also love it if I could get on my Windows system laptop so I could jump between the two whenever I needed to. But I do use my iPad most of the time. Would all like to be able to curve text, either make it round. Or a wave etc

Auto trace is extremely frustrating and unreliable. I use curve mainly to convert existing artworks to vector. I’ve found the quality of the image trace output varies wildly with no indication over whats causing it and how I can adjust things to prevent the result. I try numerous arrangements of settings and still get errors. It’s confusing and frustrating because either i get a perfect trace or i get an absolute mess. The main problems I get: ((Context: My base images are extremely simple artwork with solid lines and uniform flat colours.)) - the program loves to add colours that don’t exist in the original artwork. - The paths created are blobby and blotchy for no reason - Paths and shapes that should be seperate because they’re different colours in the original artwork are merged together. (Separating them out is a nightmare) It’s very frustrating to work with and adds a lot of extra workload due to me having to fix the errors the program adds to my art.

Ridiculously Powerful. It’s amazing seeing such a powerful vector graphic design tool available for mobile. Vectornator being available for free is a must have for every iPad. The app was tested on an 11” M1 iPad Pro where it ran without hiccups.

Would be great. Honesty i tried using this app for a day but it was stressing. I found the functions and other things complicated. I tried to draw something but it was so difficult unless i used a photo or something, but i couldn’t edit the photo. I feel like if i knew how to use it or if it was less complicated it would be great.

Best Illustrator App For iPad. I’ve been using adobe illustrator for years on my MacBook however with my iPad I find this as being the best app out there for vector illustration. The guys at Vectornator are constantly updating to accommodate those of us that are designing on the go. I’ve been using Vectornator for around a year now and would be lost with out it, I use it nearly everyday and must say, I’d be lost without it. For those devoted to adobe illustrator you have the option to save you work as an .ai file and much more. The reviews speak for themselves. Great product Vectornator team, keep up the good work. P.s. don’t let this app dissolve into the past like so many apps have done. Keep moving forward. 👍

Crashes frequently. Since the update it crashes a lot with no explanation and you lose the last bit of work that doesn’t autosave

Great app but unusable right now. Firstly, I love the app and it’s miles ahead of Adobe, etc. But it’s crashing on me non-stop. When I use the pen tool it works for a bit and as soon as I get to about 4 shapes with it the app just crashes on me. I’ve tried closing the app, hard rebooting my iPad, starting a new document, etc and nothing works. I’d definitely give it 5 stars if this bug wasn’t happening to the point that the app is unusable now.

Really good but….. I use this app to render clothing designs and I recently just got the latest update for my iPad and everything was working fine but now the app keeps crashing and I don’t know why. I’ve tried deleting the app and redos loading it but it didn’t work. Pls help I love this app and I need it for work purposes

Ruined By Paywalls. Have used this for ages and have loved it, even paid for it ages ago. Recently some new paywalls have been added and now what I initially paid for is not applicable and I have to not only pay again but subscribe to make anymore projects. Pretty disappointing. This company seemed better than this originally. Liked that they weren’t so greedy like Adobe, but I guess everyone gets to that point. Shame. I’ll be looking for a new alternative soon.

Money hungry company. Max 3 files only for curve. Not allowed to create new files now. Money hungry company charging 96 a year, at least add a monthly sub. Now we are in a tech-feudalist society where a subscription means you don’t own the app or assets you create. Moving to procreate. Trash business model not championing the struggling artist - trying to advertise to professionals and ‘organisations’ as if this would ever be better than illustrator. Love Capitalism.

Love it. I really love this app, the UI looks nice and clean, the tools are simple and straight forward (assuming you have background knowledge from similar applications). The best part is the availability of texts and many different fonts which I don’t find available in many other IOS apps. The only complaint is that there isn’t a smooth transition if I want to move over to other apps like Procreate, which I use a lot with this app.

Incredible!. This app is incredible. The features are super in depth, and there are no purchases required to use this master piece!

Buggy force closes. The app is nice and all but After adding a lot of layers at times the app just force closes, worst thing is that the work does save. Now I get error and the app can not open up my documents, not mattering if I close and restart the app or if I restart my iPad but this is super frustrating Please fix

Perfect!. After searching for a vector app and going through almost every popular art app, I am so glad I found this. I was so frustrated that there was no easy to use, proper vector program to use for quick vector art creation. This app has a fantastic pick up play type of UX! I am actually chuffed because it made my life so much easier! Thank you to the devs for this awesome product!

Couldn’t have done it without you Vectornator!. In 2021 I quit my permanent position at work and started creating my own business. All of the business graphics were made using this app. Along with dog portraits and memorial portraits of loved ones. Thanks! A graphic designer or novices dream!

My GoTo. I downloaded this app on my iPad some time back. I fiddled with it now and then but did not take it seriously. A few months ago I needed to design a poster for a school event, used Vectornator and was so happy it has become my Illustrator replacement. I don’t use apps that charge subs because I don’t use them every day, or every week, or even every month and so am paying for something I am not using. Some apps I use suggest donations and if I use them often enough I make a donation. I would be happy to donate every so often to Vectornator. Thanks for your enthusiasm and a great app.

Didn’t I already pay you guys for this?. Maybe my memory is atrophied from all the subscriptions I have to keep track of but after being lulled into a false sense of security, enabled by being fairly certain I paid to unlock this app in the first place. Now you’re wheeling out the subscriptions and I feel as though I paid for the first half of a movie and now you’re paywalling the second half of it and console me by telling me I am free to spend the second half staring at the projection wall and attempt to make shadow puppets.

Great app but wish some improvements. I’ve had this app for years but just started to use it in last two days. I’m so amazed by this free app and I found it has computer version too. Though I hope it can improve some functions. I noticed some function cannot be done when a group or multiple objects are selected, maybe there's a way to go around but I didn’t find that. A big thing is please add Offset. That’s super useful and common for designers. Also for text, there is an option for frame to fit bound to text size, can we add on another option so we can choose to increase the text size by dragging the bound? These are my suggestions so far. Hope this app can always be wonderful and get more and more popular.

Super buggy and massive latency since update. Updates are supposed to make things better not worse. Since the recent update the app is so unresponsive it’s actually unusable, and this is after closing all apps, restarting iPad and reinstalling the app. Not sure what to do as all of my content is with this app?

From a good app to annoying. I just feel sick of wrestling with the app to just use my files on my iPad. It keeps pushing pop-ups to buy something particularly cloud storage. Listen developer, you are developing app for Ios. We have cloud storage already. We do not need your useless super expensive cloud storage. Your app is not the best. Users can replace you easily with much better and cheaper apps.

Question??. Should I use a stylus or my fingers? I don’t have an iPad Pro so I can’t use Apple Pencil so any other options or just use my fingers if u recommend.

Font uploaded and use. From what I’ve seen online it seems like a great software but the whole consistency of uploading fonts is a pain. Trying to upload more that 30+ fonts doesn’t work, even uploading 10/11 fonts they won’t appear in Vectornator only ones that I previously uploaded, why we can’t just upload fonts from the Mac to the Vectornator on the MacBook is crazy, having to download another app on the phone and upload via there and the whole back and forth… surely there’s a better way for people to put fonts via the computer to the app

Don’t make us pay. The app was good and I use it for school but now we need to pay?! I’m gonna download something else and tell all My friends to do it too.

Adobe watching their backs since these guys showed up…. Every time I open Vectornator I am impressed by how they have progressed with this program. A little jittery when I first started using it,quite a few bugs but hey, that’s not uncommon,I was frequently getting booted out and I had a lot of recurring issues….but NOW…you guys …I’m impressed,I’ve been using Adobe illustrator for as long as I can remember and I haven’t found a worthy alternative until now! Awesome app, can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the future…🤩

Needs fixing. On iPad I can use it well for around ten minutes before it freezes and crashes to home screen and I have to start my design all over again. Would love the issue to be fixed as it’s the best alternative to illustrator for me.

THIS IS GREAT. The only thing I found is the ‘Lock’ object doesn’t seem to work,,, Everything else works beautifully!!!!!!!

Excellent for fun and work. I use this for fun to create simple geometric designs, but I also use it to mock-up ideas away from my computer. I started using it on my iPhone 6 with my fingers which was fun, but for anything detailed you definitely need a stylus. I also use it on my iPad.

Very supportive for creative mind. This app contains packs of creative drawing facilities very similar to Adobe Illustrator. So, many vector drawings can be created on iPad and combined with other drawing apps as well as on computer. Preset document types are very useful and easy to choose a decision for a new project that also is fully customisable.

Great App!. I have been using Vectornator for about a year, after I graduated university and had to cancel my illustrator subscription. It’s such a great app with so many features that I’m still discovering! Thank you for creating such a great app and offering it for free ❤️

Bad, bad and more bad. My child has severe anxiety and depression and I gave her the iPad to use this free drawing app on because I thought it would help make her more happy but it did the complete opposite as the brush sizes wouldn’t change and things kelt moving around without her wanting it to. Ended up haveing to go to the doctor because she got so bad. Not good at all.

Super powerful and free!. I’m not an advanced user who started on Inkscape. I use Vectornator on an iPad Pro with pencil and whilst there is a steep learning curve, what program with real power doesn’t? I can’t believe it is all the result of the passion of a driven teenager. Wow. Keep up the awesome work.

Used to be great.. Was using this app up until it updated, and forced me to create an account, before letting me know I would no longer have the option of saving my work locally. Whoever thought this was a good idea should never be allowed near another project again.

Really enjoying learning Vectornator. Having taught myself Adobe illustrator, I find it more relaxing to get on my IPad and do a little bit of something new each time.

Forced to create an account, nope.. I can’t access my files unless I make an account. I tried to bypass the lock by opening them from the Files app but that didn’t work either. I’ll go back to my other app which I’m transitioning to anyway and hope this lock is removed in the future. Linearity, I like having a choice of whether or not I create an account. You have not given me that choice.

Classy and capable. This is one classy drawing program for iPad. Very simple if you just wish to knock up some basis drawings, yet very extensive and capable if you have some serious design work. This is the program that made me purchase Apple pencil. Hats off to the creative team behind this and you can al be very proud.

INCREDIBLE APP. But really wish it would stop crashing 😫. This app is perfect. It has an amazing interface, easy features and the perfect tool for beginners to professionals…I just wish it would stop having these episodes of repeated crashing. I don’t know what to do, I use this app for work and rely upon it heavily. I don’t know if it’s me? Help.

Easy, high quality, and actually free. I've previously never been able to use vector graphics to create good quality images, but wanted to get into graphic design without adobe suite products (a personal vendetta) and this is one of the only completely free options that has everything I need, easy to figure out interface (it was a bit trial and error but that might be because I'm stubborn and don't like guides) and the work is high quality (or as high as my own skills allow) and the lack of ads or in-app purchases has me actually in love

Subscription 👎👎👎. Was a great when it was Vectornator now it has been changed with a subscription service. I cannot create new files without deleting all my past ones as free version has changed and limits to only three sketches. Would be great if it was a once off purchase like procreate. No good if you just want to use it as a hobby too expensive. Otherwise it’s pretty good app.

Beyond Impressed. I’ve had a little to do with Adobe Illustrator over the years and with my needs being more paint/graphic art orientated, this app is insane. It’s intuitive, responsive and easy all bundled together in a clean interface. Already I’m finding I have more options for my style that it’s produced such a quick and easy workflow that I can get ideas down immediately then start refining- I’m still a little baffled this app exists. Thanks to the Vectornator team for supporting this app the way you have, it’s truly been a game changer. Sincerely, Formerly Struggling Artist

Canvas moves unhelpfully. This app is absolutely incredible - so much to love. Unfortunately there’s one simple problem that makes it practically unusable for me. When drawing with an apple pencil, I like to rest the side of my hand on the screen. Unless I do this *extremely carefully*, it either rotates or resizes the canvas. There’s a setting to prevent canvas rotation but seemingly no setting to prevent canvas resizing. I’ve disabled canvas rotation and I’ve told the app to ‘only draw with apple pencil’, but this problem persists. If there’s a solution I’ve missed I’ll be very embarrassed and give 5 stars immediately. But for now, can’t even use this otherwise wonderful drawing app.

Doesn’t last very long. I’ve been (trying) to use this app for a design assignment but it tends to start crashing consistently after 20 minutes of use. It’s a fantastic app, it’s a shame it’s not usable for longer than 20 minutes.

The Best Vector App I've Tried - But One Minor Issue.... I love this app. I'm a graohic designer who makes posters and social media posts for a restaurant, and Vectornator has been my go-to app when I don't wanna be saddled to a PC. It offers almost everything I need except for... 1. Can't set text line spacing in negative integers, meaning if i want lines closer together, i have to switch to Illustrator on PC or turn text into outlines and move it manually. 2. Exporting as SVG or AI can lose some of the text effects including drop shadows, which can be very frustrating Im very glad the app gets frequent updates, and look forward to what changes come in the future

Use it everyday. Was recently given a project at work to design some training sheets and booklets for the team. Sick of being sat at my desk all day and then staying back to get more done I was looking for something to use on the go so I wouldn’t be stuck at my desk. I didn’t think I’d find anything so advanced, easy to use - and as awesome as this tbh. I use it all day everyday! Means I can head home and keep designing bits on the train ride so I get home at a reasonable hour! Being able to use it with the Apple Pencil and split screen mode makes it a must. Plus the fact it links to my clouds account makes it even more awesome! Not complaints. Think it took about an hour to work out how to use it properly!

Why have a guide for features that don’t exist?. You have a super slick guide. .. for stuff your app doesn’t actually do -_- 1. There are no multiple tabs for ‘Canvas’, ‘Snapping’, and ‘Input’ so 2. You can’t set up isometric grids or 3. Change the grid size, resize canvas, etc (Also, snapping turns on no matter how many times you switch it off—so any precision design is out because things snap to whatever they want, whenever they want) I’m giving it 1 star because there are people like myself who’ve spent frustrating hours watching tutorials and trying to find features you have screenshots and tutorials for—but that don’t actually exist. Bugs are ok, false advertising is not ok. If I’m missing something, please let me know so I can apologize and update my review. Until then it’s 1 star for me.

My Favourite app!. I am a student and this app is The BEST! It has all the fetures you would want and need: The pallet (for storing colors), The pencil tool (My favourite out of all of them) And much more! Overall the best drawing app I have ever used (Its even better than Procreate!(My opinion)) And to tie it all off it’s FREE! Thankyou devs for bringing this to our world!

Fantastic and FREE illustrator alternative. Can’t believe this app is free. Puts other vector apps to shame. Fantastic work! And great updates. I never write reviews but had to in this case! I’m sure affinity designer is great, but it has no ai export. This app does! And import! And a bunch of other great export features!

Now crashes regularly. Don’t get me wrong this free software is great for free, but latest update crashes so often that I’m not sure I can keep using it for professional work? If you want to play, by all means this is great - but my time is getting chewed up and it’s possibly time to look elsewhere? Hope they keep improving though, good on whomever is behind Vectornator.

Life saver. Honestly this is the best app free and paid!!! It has everything you need, is easy and simple(ish) to use. I use it for my crafting business and planner templates. it’s nice not to have to pay a lot for something that covers everything you need for creating and editing pictures

Not user friendly. I had this app for an hour then deleted it. It’s not user friendly in my opinion and the YouTube videos I found were not helpful. It shouldn’t be rocket science to use a simple eraser tool on a png image.

Not a cloud fan. Vectornator has some great features. I’m glad to see continued development on the app. But I’m not enthusiastic about the cloud storage. As long as I can choose NOT to use cloud storage then everything is OK. But if I don’t have a choice then I will go elsewhere. I generally work offline. If I cannot access my files while offline then the new cloud storage will be a deal breaker.

Not Yet. Vectornator has two major problems. First, no iCloud file sync—files are saved on-device only. You can import and export, but that gets old pretty fast with multiple devices. It's odd, since they're iOS only. Perhaps that will come when they finish the free app growth-hacking. They're evasive about their business model, burning investor cash for now. They'll have to make money eventually. Second, it's practically useless in portrait orientation. The huge panel nearly always present on the side takes up over a third of the screen in portrait. In landscape, it's only about a quarter, which is still too much, since it's a pain to dismiss. Maybe it's fine on a 12.9 iPad Pro, but no way on an iPad mini and it's tight on a normal iPad. Other quibbles: The icons/tools are too small, too many, and not clear. The canvas rotates too easily, very disorienting. Confusing panel functions are split between the top and bottom of screen. I gather they're working on the UI, so maybe that will improve. Also, there are no real settings/preferences/customizations. That said, it is well polished and stable, and it's quite good at detail work like bezier line editing. Overall, it seems more oriented toward artists than technical drawing. It's an app worth watching. Get it now, but don't invest all your work in it until it matures and they settle on a pricing plan.

Now a subscription app. This program has been free for years and extremely useful. Now it’s a subscription based app like the Adobe products. The whole reason I switched over to this app years ago was because of the ridiculous pricing of Αdobe. As an independent artist, this really hurts. Not only do we have access to just 3 “free” files, but all other files previously containing any work we’ve done is now inaccessible unless I pay for the subscription. Unfortunately this means a few years worth of MY art is unavailable to ME unless I pay for it. I understand the developers and the need to have some sort of pricing, but it ‘s extremely lame that a once free app is now unusable and a money grabber. If I’m going to pay for any sort of design program, I might as well just go back to Adobe.

Not a bad app.... Not a bad app for creating and manipulating vector images etc... However, I don’t appreciate this app calling the malignant cancer called F***B***. I don’t want or need ANY information from this iPad connecting or passing through their servers. If you can provide an option to completely disable this, I’ll re-download. Until then, I’ll keep this iPad FB free. Thank you.

Purchased pro version now have to pay subscription?. This doesn't seem right. I paid for the Pro Version of Vectornster and now they’ve renamed it Linerairy Virve, and want me to Pay for a subscription or use a Basic Free Version? I should be grandfathered in along with everyone who supported this company with cash when they needed it

Needs Measurement Tools. I would give this app 5 stars if it had a line measurement tool, or a line length information space. Sometimes I want to know the angle of a diagonal line (and not have to do the math every time) or want to know the length of a curve. I was able to use other vector programs to create patterns, but for getting perimeter measurements of anything other than a quadrilateral, measuring is tedious or near impossible, and nowhere near accurate in vector storage. It’s a great art program but for size specific art, the lag from drawing the line to getting the distance is too long. I have to release my lines and check the measurement afterwards. If it’s a diagonal measurement I can’t just type in a line length and direction like I would have in AI. The rulers should float along side the artwork instead of being locked to the edges at the very least so you can get a guesstimate of the line length, or an option to add the measurements while drawing would be amazing. You guys say you’re “better than AI” but miss a lot of their key features that to some of us seem pretty crucial features, like being able to change a measurement of an object by using “x” and “/“ to multiply or divide line lengths, or change shape sizes, I have to use a calculator to do the math instead of having the program do it for me, and this shows down workflow. Please add the ability to measure along curves instead of having to do math and the ability to resize by using excel type functions (x or / to multiply or divide width and height)

I use it to create all my YouTube thumbnails. It just works, whether I am on my iPad or my MacBook. Easy-to-use and customizable tools, accessible interface (more on Mac than on iPad, granted) and consistent results. Oh, and it is free! :)

Just started using it! LOVE IT!. Just started using this app as a suggestion from an online resource. WOW! Did exactly what I needed it to do: Convert a raster image to vector and while doing it, learned it can do so much more! What a great app and please keep up the great work!

Shady business practice. Shady way of operating as a business. They milked positive reviews by launching the app as a free app, kept it free until they received sufficient positive reviews gained only by their fully free app and then suddenly changing it to a subscription-based model with zero real use for free. This is a common practice by dishonest app developers that try to fool users with positive reviews that do not correspond to the current paid-only subscription service but are actually referring to a former fully free app that is no longer available. Apple should step in and protect users from being scammed.

Excellent. I've been using Inkscape for a couple of years and while I have only been playing around on vectonator for a couple of days I am enjoying how easy it is to use.

The best the best. Helped me through my student phase without having to purchase other applications for my vector benefits! From using it to convert to vector images, making pdfs/presentations to making technical sheets for my fashion school, has been with me throughout and forever. Please don’t change :)

Just simply amazing. By the fact that this is free I am loss of words. The interface is very similar with Ilustrador, I think it is even easier to use, so if you like using Adobe Ai, I highly recommend this. I recently stopped using Adobe because my permit ended, it was very sad, but when I found this I got Extremely happy. Great job!!

Unusable. Since their recent changes I have to log in to use the app and they’re apparently not properly registered with Google because when I try to use my google account to sign in google tells me this: « linearity.io has not completed the Google verification process. The app is currently being tested, and can only be accessed by developer-approved testers. If you think you should have access, contact the developer. If you are a developer of linearity.io, see error details. Error 403: access_denied » So I don’t even have access to my old files…

Now cloud-only, forced to migrate files online. This app was quite good until they account-gated it and it's not possible to access your local files anymore without an account.

Just WOW. Great amazing awesome graphics app. So glad to have found and tried it. Could not believe it was free… having paid for less than that. Upgraded very often, to fill our needs. I'm amazed.

Request. What if you added animation? Make this awesome tool even more awesome. (P.S. add some sound, and we got a full flow party! #most used app on my iPad)

Curve Update can’t create account. Can’t create an account with Google because the code I am sent is always expired. Ever since you introduced the curve update with mandatory login I can’t use the app.

No ads + free,. Free and no ads! I hope it stays this way

Could Be Better. Vectornator works well as a free replacement for Adobe Illustrator, but it falls short on some key elements for an effortless workflow. Like being able to pick from a list of art board sizes with basic dimensions to fit a smartphone/poster/different computer screens/etc, or even just easy access to creating default shapes. You can make Vectornator work as it seems to have everything you need, but the user experience is not without some pain to get the job done. The worst part of using this app is that it always crashes on me at least a couple times while using it, so be sure to save frequently.

It was great. I used this app for a long time as Vectornator which was really awesome. Now all of my files are locked behind another cloud service I have to sign up for in addition to the thousand other cloud services I already have. The app is great but I don’t need another cloud service.

Not happy. I’ve already paid for this app, but now I’ll have to pay monthly to keep creating new files? Not impressed.

Great for the price!. For a free app, I’m not about to complain. It does crash a decent amount but honestly, my free trial subscription to a different vector app crashed more. I figure an ipad (or at least my iPad) just isn’t built with the processing power needed to go for hours on end. It’s very easy to use, and as a hobbyist, is really exactly what I need. (That being said, why does it need to mute the audio I’m playing? Not sure how my audiobook interferes with the functionality of the app. Maybe there’s a feature that plays audio within the app but I’m not using it.)

It got worse and worse. Before it was a slightly buggy but overall good vector art app. It was simple, with good UI and it was easy to jump into and creat something cool. It had regular updates that introduced new functions, while getting rid of bugs. Then the rebrand happened. First it was small, with just the logo and colour scheme change being the only sign of corruption. Then it forced you to transfer all your files into their cloud storage, with a pop up that blacked your entire screen whenever you tried to access your locally stored art (Even if you had already transferred all your files over). Now, it’s a fully subscription based app, with it only allowing you to have 3 canvas before paying 15$ CAD a month or 130$ CAD a year!! Even the reference pages they gave you, for things like drawing characters are now locked behind the way too expensive subscription. I would give this 0 star if I could but unfortunately apple still hasn’t let me express the sheer amount of disappointment I have in this once gem of an app. Get any other art app. Anything other than this. Even if your other app sais it has in app purchases I and only 4 reviews; I promise you it’s not as bad as this one.

Saved my grade. I’m in college for graphic design and live across town from campus. I can only use adobe illustrator on school computers and can’t afford a copy for my own computer. This app saved me and I can now work on my projects from home!

Great vector based drawing app for the iPad. Takes a second to get familiar with, but it’s an easy, fun app to make vector based logos and graphics.

Not As Good As It Looks. I thought this app looked really cool, but it was really hard to navigate through. I don’t think there were enough types of brushes, but maybe that was because I couldn’t navigate myself through it. I only saw 1 brush, 1 pencil and 1 pen, and I had no idea how to change the color and the size. Please make it more beginner friendly. I will re-install the app when you do so.

Now I have to find another vector graphics tool.. REQUIRING an account is bad enough, but REQUIRING that I store MY work on YOUR servers? NO!! EDIT: So now it becomes clear. This was done so that you can place a limit on the number of files and force a subscription where the only addition feature is a higher cap on the file limit and access to an animation app that doesn’t exist yet. Nice rug pull jerks! 🤬

Just offer a one time purchase price. It’s a great app and I truly appreciate developer’s relentless work on updating and upgrading its functionality. I don’t expect to get it for free, especially considering amount of work being continually invested in improving the app but recent change in the monetization scheme , when they switched to subscription model will probably be the end for my use of this app. I am sure many other users are fed up with endless app subscriptions; I would gladly pay a reasonable amount for the permanent purchase, like Affinity offers for their apps and in order to ensure continued updates and improvements, a small fee (a fraction of the purchase price) every time there is a meaningful update.

App pourri. J’ai j’amais vu un app autant compliqué que sa de ma vie

Just be aware of.... This is a fabulous freeware! But don't be deceived... A freeware is a shareware in development. Know that it will certainly cost you money to use the app in the future. Nothing of that good quality is free forever. If you still think it is really free then somebody else pay for it. I think that we, the users, are paying them with all our comments, our bugs we encounter. So, we are their R&D, their beta testers helping them fine tuning their app so it become a sellable product. So be prepared! And from what I can see on the store right now, it will be a paid subscription... If I'm wrong, please tell me.

Bad. Worst app I’ve ever used. Super hard to use, always deletes my designs and doesn’t have basic tools. I hate this app with a passion. Please don’t waste your time. :)

Was great, now it sucks. I’m forced to have an account and store my work on their servers with no option to opt out or work locally. This leads to all kinds of issues that I have no interest in engaging with. As of now this app is going into the garbage bin no matter how good it was. I would recommend giving people a choice if they want to opt into working off of a central cloud storage system rather than forcing us to do so.

App is now a liability to use. After years of excellent service, app now requires a new account even to access your existing work, and uploads all work to a cloud subscription service you can't opt out of, with questionable ToS changes that allow for new "AI" features to be based on your work. Since they've made intentional UI and PR choices to hide these issues, the creators can't be trusted any longer. If you're a professional, using this app is now a risk.

Good interface when you get used to it, but a huge learning curve. This app is a good vector interface, and if you have prior experience with vector graphics it is very intuitive. However, sometimes in marketing the way it is advertised might lead people to think that this is a bitmap painting app, and I think this is the reason for some of the bad reviews.

Cloud Update Ruined App. I bought this app (before it was made free) when it was Vectornator, and until recently I was quite happy with it. Since the update to Linearity Cloud, it is impossible to create new files or work without being logged in/connected to the Linearity servers. Why can’t I work on or save files directly to my device without being logged in/connected to your servers? I’ve even tried moving files directly to my tablet after creating them in Curve, which doesn’t work. Why can we only transfer files by “Sharing To” iCloud or other Apps? Does Linearity now own everything users create with Curve?!

Was great, then they got greedy.. App was great, they decided they wanted to get subscription money so they forced accounts and made users save files on their servers so they could limit the number of files you can have. How about a one time charge for users who want full access and no cloud trash?

Great free app. Wow! For a free, non subscription app and software you can for Mac, this is a gem! Please keep it that way. I like it so far!

Gatekept. Gate kept with a signup before you even try it lol insta deleted

Awesome. Absolutely awesome vector drawing app! I tried so many of them and this one is my favorite. On a circle drawing, i need to see the Center of it so that I can align other circles to it (geometry drawing). Is there a way to display the Center of circles at all time?

Already paid for the app, now I need a subscription? Bye-bye clientele.. I purchased this app years ago and loved it. Since the rebranding, it was only a matter of time until it turned into a subscription scam. Thank you Vectornator. You gave me the opportunity to learn and create art, designs and products. Good bye Curve.

I am concerned. When this program was called Vectornator, I enjoyed it enough to buy a full version. It really isn’t clear to me if I still have a full version since the name change, and now they’re switching to a monthly subscription system! The whole reason I ditched Adobe was to get away from this cash grab. The program is great, but if it costs as much as Illustrator, I’m switching to something else. I don’t design as a career anymore; I just make birthday cards or other small designs for personal use. Adobe CS5 was all I needed until MacOs went to higher powered processors. I still have access to all features but limits to the number of files, according to the developers. So I paid for nothing, in other words.

Not good for making art. Although it is vector, there is not enough options, such as there only two brushes! they’re definitely needs to be more brushes!! :( when I’m trying to draw anything or use the pencil tool, the line is too thick. Even when you try to lower the breast size it would just goes back to its original size or it just doesn’t make a difference .

I love these guys. I’ve used Vectornator for years and I really dislike the new name and changes… you already had a gem, why rebrand!… you were the terminators of vector files cammon!!!

No longer free. After using and enjoying this app for free for years, and being told it would still be available for free, after transitioning to curve, it’s limited to 3 files which makes it completely useless. Most definitely not free, and there are far better paid apps out there to give your money too. Would not recommend at all, the app works okay at best and they have no morals or issue with tricking and trapping customers into being forced to pay for a subscription

THE vector drawing tool. Nut sure why anyone would pay for adobe illustrator or other programs if we have this! It does everything what a designer needs from a vector drawing software and for free! No trial periods etc. Great devs, keep up the great work!

Inkscape for IOS. This app was a life saver for me when I was looking for something like Inkscape to work with on my iPhone. I am impressed with the speed of the app and the feature packed interface. I’d request the dev to move the arrow from the middle bottom of the screen to anywhere else because it interferes with the iPhone switching between apps

Cloud storage. Cloud saving should be an option, why did you start forcing to save artwork on cloud? One day all of sudden you will ask for money to access our files. So no more curve. Thanks

Frustrating but usable. I don’t know many vector programs for the iPad so I use this, it is effective and gets points for being free and un-intrusive . It works well enough depending on the project but can also be extremely frustrating. Particularly for fine control or precise placement. The smart guides can really feel unintelligent and the sequence to design what you want will need many extra steps. I can understand that any tablet system will be difficult since it’s pretty limited input. But I’d like the controls and ui to be explored more. It feels like the current design was done around filling requirements and less a workflow.

YO THIS APP IS UNDERRATED. I’ve been in this app for 10 minutes and I’m already in love with it 🩵

New feature for auto trace. I love the app and the new feature auto trace. I have some feedback about auto trace. You have now three features on this new auto trace function. Can I suggest another additional feature; basic This new feature “basic” will enable users to auto trace anything to simple rough out design by quickly combining predesigned primitive elements. After that one can dive in to manipulate own designs further with the powerful point editing system using industry standard bezier curves. Thank you so much

Pretty powerful. Best vector app I’ve found. 20 years experience in illustrator, years of bad design apps, and then a couple years with Vectornator. I can confidently say it is the best vector app I have found. Of course.. per being an app and not a program, it’s a little adventure trying to learn a different interface. And there are some controls/UI that I’d change, but it’s honestly personal preference. If you have some vector experience from other programs, you will find this to be one of the best options in app form. Superior to the Adobe vector apps far as I’m concerned.

Unusable. No clue why people have rated this so highly- it is basically unusable on iPhone XR. I’m trying to use the auto trace feature - finally found it after much searching (the UI isn’t intuitive and there’s no help menu that I can find). It traces without me being able to preview and then the tracing settings disappear completely, so I can’t adjust it. Don’t bother downloading this app if tracing is what you need. Oh and I’m not at all new to this kind of software- am a professional designer with experience using AI, AD, and several other vector illustration programs. The problem is that this app has very little in the way of in-app guidance. It probably shouldn’t be available for iPhone at all, as auto tracing is one of the only tasks appropriate for the small screen and that clearly isn’t ready for showtime.

This is FREE?!. HOW CAN I THROW MONEY AT YOU?! You have no idea how many decent looking apps i bail on just because they have some hidden purchase or something. I would rather pay one time for an app than pay a subscription. And ever since PS and AI went to subscriptions, even on the PC, I’ve completely stopped using them. I do love supporting great apps and programs, and I’ll do my best to support you, I just don’t like feeling like I have to pay to use my creativity. I’m trying to search for a way to donate to this group. Wait! Are you based in Ukraine?! HOW DO I THROW MONEY AT YOU?!?!

Needs more tutorials. The reason I took off two stars is because there aren’t enough resources online to learn how to use this. I feel like it’s a powerful app, especially for being free but I can’t find questions to basic questions. I’ve been trying to figure out for hours why my image comes out looking pixelated no matter how I save it. There’s probably a solution or answer out there but the resources available are so limited. I’m sure there are a lot of features that the developers added in that are amazing but if we don’t know how to use the app, it’s kind of pointless

Great for pros even better for beginners. Almost bought designer...Then...I was watching a tutorial and the lady was using this on her iPad. She said it was a great program and it was free. I downloaded it not expecting much but a entry level program and that would have been fine for me as I am just learning. As I am watching the tutorials on this program all I hear is good things and one video even compared the 3 biggest iOS vector programs and this was one. The man chose this one as his favorite. I am now fleeing in this program and it’s only been a week. I don’t see any reason to invest into another program because this does everything I need.

Incredibly intuitive. I cannot believe how powerful and intuitive this app is. I am a hobbyist with a little tiny bit of previous experience in Photoshop but not really Illustrator or anything equivalent. I wanted to start dabbling with graphics but didn’t want to fork over the cash. I have used this app for a few projects already: making a to scale “stencil” for an embroidery design and also for making a paint stencil for a graphic to repeat around my house. Love it. Can’t believe it’s free.

Great app but still growing!. I am a graphic designer and writer. I found this app by accident and was surprised how close it was to illustrator quality of its tools and functionality! Especially being new to apple products my iPad Pro 1st gen. used it like it was made for illustration! My only big issue with it is random glitches where the app closes out in the middle of your work. Not sure if it’s just a timing factor or an update issue but when I use the selection tool on a text space it glitches and closes the app entirely. Other than that it works like a dream!

Incredible app! Highly recommend. I wanted to leave my MacBook Pro at home, but I needed something similar to Sketch/Illustrator to take on the go. All of the other apps costed money, and I wasn’t sure that the iPad would be good for this sort of work. Then I saw this app and downloaded it because it was free. It’s so good, I left my MacBook Pro at home for a trip and am using my iPad only. So far, I have had no problems. Highly recommend. The only thing that would make this better for me would be the ability to have multiple Artboards in the same document.

Not bad, but missed the mark. For such a proclaimed improvement I don’t understand why it’s so challenging to simply choose a fill color and then have the brush paint with the chosen color. It’s 15 minutes in trying this simple task and I still can’t figure it out. I choose a fill, then I start drawing with the brush tool and the fill immediately goes back to black. Ok .... just figured out what’s happening, and it’s not good. You can’t simply set the stroke to none and then start drawing. If you set the stroke to none, then start drawing, the app nulls out your selected color and sets both the fill and stroke to black. You have to start drawing, then later select the shape and remove the stroke and change the fill. Way way waaaaaaaaaaaay too much friction. Anyway ... haven’t explored much deeper than this, but the way that the update was described it sounded like it was going to be a significant overhaul, but I’m not feeling the improvements. That said, it’s still a good app given the limited number of apps to choose from that are competing in this space.

One of my favorite design apps but still needs improvements. I really enjoy this app. Great for doing simple and intermediate vector designing. The flaws I find are in the font program and the lack of ease with use and intallation. Also I would love to edit my strokes more with taper and width. I have been a long time user of Ai and I wish I could have some more of the basics that I use there here. But I will say that for a free app it gives you more than you would think. Always room for improvement everywhere I guess. But when I get everything I’d want then I’ll give four stars. Until then keep up the awesome work.

Um, wow 🤯. This is awesome! It’s free (doesn’t have ads or in app purchases either), which has me really surprised, due to the quality of this app. It’s my first vector drawing app, and I supremely enjoy it and it gave me exactly what I wanted right after I understood the controls (I drew a kursgesagt-in-a-nutshell bird). I strongly recommend, and there’s nothing to lose if you don’t like it (which I doubt happen, unless you’re super picky and have very very extreme standards or something). Also it’s really fun to wiggle around the lines :D

Is it worth it?. OMG! It is worth it. It does the job an its free. If you cant afford adobe illustrator this is the best alternative. So, if it does the job and its free y the 4 stars? Well i learned on adobe and there are some tools that make life easier and i use all the time; the shape builder and the gradient mesh tool. Now im still learning. So ill find away to live and i mean this app is free and you can make all the stuff you can make in illustrator so go and download i recommend it. Thank you for having something that starting out designers can use. :)

Great Digital Drawing App!. Omg, I love this app, it’s one of the best things ever that has happened to me in drawing apps. I love how you can create your own brushes and how you can add text. I also really like the art boards. Oh yeah and News too! It’s a great addition, to talk to people who share the same interests while learning as well. Tip: If you want to change it up and have a more pixel-y look, then you can use blur; usually I use a small brush so 0.17 blur is good for me. It usually works best and too blurred when it’s under 1.00 blur :)

Love this app. However, ever since round-about version 4.13.4, it seems the node tool is different. In previous versions, if I just placed regular nodes with the pen tool, I could then select a node with the node tool and just tap or double tap it and mirrored handles would appear. Then it would act like an asymmetric node when manipulating one of the handles. Not a huge deal, just quite a time saver from having to select each node or even multiple nodes then changing their type from the menu. This is with apple pencil on ipad by the way. Otherwise again, awesome app. Still love it. Thank you

Suggestion to improve texting. While you’re one of the best and your app is wonderful and getting better and better by time, my experience in using text tool is a bit annoying. When I wanna edit the text, there’s no clear action to do and every time it takes time to finally keyboard pops up and I be able to edit. I suggest designing a space in style tab user can write there easily and it’s getting applied in the canvas instead of working there directly. Moreover, please add symbol tab and the ability of subscript and superscript to text part. Thank you for your great job. Parsa

Phenomenal. I’ve been using Adobe Illustrator for 20 years, and I was looking for something that could offer a comparable feature set in iPad form that I could use for finishing work on character illustration. I use this app with the Apple Pencil and it is a dream. Highly intuitive UI, powerful Bézier curve system and very smart use of live attributes. Layers and object stacking is not perfect, but it is perfectly usable. I wish it could do tapered strokes and blending modes on objects. Amazingly good for a free app.

Wow! It Really Works!. I tried this a couple of years ago and it just didn’t click for me. But today I grabbed it and within an hour I was able to get my job done! I’m using it to create cut files for a laser cutter so maybe not as technical as many but I can tell you this app makes it easy to get the shapes done and looking great! My cutter takes only svg, dxf and AI files and I’m just not willing to go the AI route. Thank ya’ll for making my life easier.

Great Digital Art App!. Hi Vectornator Dev(s), I really love your app and I do reccomend it to some friends. I like how it’s not pixel-y and how it looks as smooth as butter! Just a few questions: Fill tool - I’ve noticed that there was an icon (a filled bucket with a drop dripping from it’s edge) and it’s disabled. I’m not sure if this is the fill tool. I think this tool can be very useful to fill bodies of outline. Digital artists can use this instead of using the fill tool for paint and coloring it in. You don’t have to add this. Are you(y’all) planning to add the fill tool? Select tool - The tool I use to select sections of art to move or to change the color or whatever, can you please update it to select any part freely. Because sometimes when I paint, I can’t select parts of art without selecting another part I don’t want to select. Thanks for reading, Vectornator user

Decent. Honestly it works pretty good for mobile but there’s three things that it’s kind of limiting, One trying to merge layers is awkward (wish I could just pinch together the layers I want to merge), 2 I can’t paste line art I made in other apps like procreate (I wanted to paste just the lines so I wouldn’t have to switch back to the other app). And 3 you got to save like directly after a long “curve” made with a lot of points. Or the app will crash and you’ll definitely lose a lot of progress. But besides that it’s a decent app.

Love the app but it’s been buggy since the last update. I’ve been using this app for a while and I love it! It’s amazing. I hadn’t encountered any bugs or issues until the most recent update. The app has randomly closed a couple times and I’m now getting this weird lag sometimes when I’m moving points on a curve. If I deselect then deselect the object/point it stops. Also I’ve noticed that sometimes when I deselect something, it still appears selected until I zoom in or out.

Elegant software for I-pad. I am so happy with this app. It works seamlessly with the I-pad and as a result super intuitive to use. I work with Procreate as well, and coming over to Vectornator was super easy to pick up. And it comes with a great downloadable i-book user guide. I wonder why a free app works so much better than costly apps? I don’t know how they did it, but thank you! It’s now an integral part of my work flow. But wait, there’s more. Customer support gets back to you promptly as well. All smiles.

Underdog of the App Store. I honestly fell in love with the app the more I played around with it. At first, I could not make heads or tails of what did what. I'm more accustom to making raster art. As I started creating, I realized the functionality was great. When I encountered a problem, I looked through the tabs and sooner or later found the answer. I started looking into vector apps because I wanted to create art to sell and honestly I will definitely use this app forever now. More importantly, it's free!! If you guys ever create a paid version like Procreate, I would definitely invest. Also, a minor suggestion, creating a Merge Down button in Layers tab.

Great app, has gotten more powerful and more difficult to use. It’s an amazing free vector app, probably the best I know of. I’ve used it for years and it’s gotten more complex and harder to use. But right now my biggest gripes on the iPhone are if I use an image, and then later want to use the same image again as a new layer, it literally won’t show that image in photos anymore, even on different projects. Have to do weird work arounds. Even duplicating and image doesn’t make it show, even though now you have a new one in camera roll. Weird.

Wouldn’t export; now it’s working great!. I find absolutely no help in any of the documentation for why I get nothing but a pink blur when I try to export a drawing to PNG format. This looks like a great app but I can’t get it to export and that does me no good EDIT: evidently Vectornator got corrupted, somehow, during my download. After I deleted and reinstalled it, it’s working great and exports my files just fine. Since that is fixed, I am perfectly happy with Vectornator and would recommend it to anybody else who wanted a vector program.

Best free vector program!!!. I am certified in Adobe Illustrator. That is what I learned how to create and use vector art. I have been asked a lot recently to create logos for friends and family for their businesses. I just downloaded the first one I found that had the best reviews. I am so glad I did!!! This does everything that Adobe Illustrator does and it is free. In some cases it is more intuitive than Illustrator. I recommend this for everyone who needs a new program. They have a group of free video tutorials on their website. Any one can jump in with little to no experience. Keep Smiling Everyone

AMAZING!!. I cannot overstate how well made this app is. It has a simple and clean UI, powerful and efficient functionality, and wonderful IOS and IpadOS compatibility. They update the app regularly, removing bugs and enhancing performance, as well as adding cool new features. They also have a user-friendly customer support team, and their forum for new ideas and updates consistently works to improve the app. Absolutley reccomend this completely free app. It works as smoothly snd reliably as any graphic design app for MacOS, all at the convenience of your tablet or phone.

Not Gonna Ask How…. …your company could put out a sophisticated yet intuitive app like this for absolutely free. I used to be very clumsy with vector drawing. Bezier lines and curves were the bane of my existence when I was a graphic designer at a screen printing company years ago. Your app is amazing to use. I now only do art for my own pleasure as I’m now retired but it makes me think about opening a Zazzle or Cafe Press T-shirt store. Is Cafe Press still a thing? Anyways, thank you!

Vectastic! No regrets! Except .... I’ll admit I was a vector virgin. I wanted to try it, but I needed to find the right partner. Vectornator is not a quick and easy solution for beginners. But once you get to know it, you’ll find it is incredibly beautiful, powerful, and liberating. Unlike the mobile version of AI and Fresco, VX has nuanced point by point editing, multi-option object merge, and a magical eraser. My only complaint is that when you are editing a vector, you can’t import another vector as a layer. You can import from photos, but they come in as pixel drawings. You can’t import from within a drawing another vector. But, hey, no one is perfect.

Fantastic, but.... There is so much this app gets right. Just the right blend of features without getting too complex, a user friendly UI, smooth pen features, and good import/export support. Despite using Affinity Designer, I would actually prefer Vectornator, but... The one feature that really matters to me where Affinity Designer shines is managing layers, groups and clipping masks. The ability to nest a hierarchy of curves is essential for me to keep my drawing objects organized and manageable. I look forward to future versions that hopefully improve this in Vectornator... so close to be my preferred Vector app.

This is an amazing app!. I don’t write reviews very often.. but this app is incredible for being free! With a little practice I am making nice looking vector logos with my fingers on an iPhone! Some features only work well with the screen rotated horizontally. Move the image around and zoom in and out with two finger “pinch”. Lots of hidden features and options that make this app very powerful. Thanks to the developers! This is what still makes an iPhone exciting to use.

Love / Hate. Honestly, the app is great. It has really transformed my work flow being able to get away from the desk more often. So why only 3 stars? Well, I’m really displeased by this latest update and the fact that you are "forced" to make an account and have your work saved to their "cloud". I know that ‘they’ may claim it’s secure and blah, blah, blah… but really, I don’t want my drawings and IP on someone else’s hands. This may seem trivial to some, but when you do work with certain clients that have NDA’s and the like, you can’t have their information stored in unknown locations.

Very powerful tool. I enjoy the convenience and the power of this tool. There are a few things I would like to see added, but for what it’s worth it’s a fantastic program! Especially if you are on the IPad Pro. It’s fairly easy to transfer work if you have a subscription to creative cloud, but even if you don’t you can kind of get around it with little or no issues. There is not much on online tutorials for this program and there are some functions I would like to see added like mock up templates for shirt designs. Overall I use my table to work out the concept and my desk top is used for the heavy lifting.

Great app! But lags sometimes.... This app is wonderful— I use it a lot and I was so excited when I found it. It’s such an amazing app (and it’s free!!) I’ve grown accustomed to using the tools and I love the way the app is organized. But sometimes when I’m in the middle of working, it lags and kicks me out of the app. I’m not sure why it does that especially since the projects that I’m working on are small projects with 3-4 layers. It also lags sometimes and doesn’t let me drag things around. Other than those small problems, the app is wonderful!

So many problems. The app keeps crashing, and it means I have to redraw stuff because the app doesn’t automatically save as soon as you draw something, or create a duplicate file at the time of the crash. And when it doesn’t crash and force close, it freezes for several seconds before jerking back to life. No matter how small the document size, this happens every time. The app also keeps asking me to connect it to the Bluetooth when I open a new or existing document. Every. Single. Time. That is incredibly annoying. There’s no calligraphy pen, and the brush and pencil are functionally identical. If there’s a difference, I don’t see it, since you can just set the smooth to zero. There need to be more brush options, or at least a wya to download some like you can do with fonts.

Currently the best vector program I’ve come across.. I tried many vector and sketching programs for iOS and Vectornator edges out Illustrator draw. I am a designer/illustrator with deep loyalty to Adobe programs, but Vectornator does the medium justice. Illustrator may eventually surpass this in mobile app development on muscle power alone, but for the immediate future this is the best I’ve seen. For anybody not on Creative Cloud program this app will definitely fulfill vector illustration needs with easy learning curve and extremely sensible price point!

Amazing app but.... It’s amazing, the app it’s the great option for iPhone, iPad, etc but there’s a problem and that’s why I don’t use the app sometimes, the editing tools bar has too small buttons and that become difficult because it’s too small and the other button it’s near and it could make we touch the wrong button, I’d like the that bar, to have much bigger button, a redesigned bar and it could become easier for working Please solve this (I don’t want to use like 3-4 apps of Adobe because are a lot and the don’t offer what Vectonator offers)

How is this free?. After just a few minutes of playing with this app I went looking for a paid version, only to find that this was it! An amazing app with all the features I'm used to, coming from desktop software. I'm a professional designer and use vector drawing apps daily, and so far I've used Vectornator to create icons, technical drawings, customize typefaces — really just play around to see what it can do. I find that I'm able to do everything I need, all without having to run to Google to look anything up. It's apps like this that make my iPad such an invaluable tool!

Absolutely game changing!. Such a great app. I discover more and more capabilities every time I use it. They publish updates and improvements regularly. It is such a powerful app, it has honestly added a lot of value to woning an iPad. I have only two requests. Keep improving the image to vector tracing feature. It still needs a lot of improvement. Additionally, try to provide the ability to export in EPS file format, even if importing in that file format is not possible, this would be very useful. Other than those two things, this is an amazing app!

Recent Update Broke App. In the past it was quite stable and worked pretty well. This update has been bad. I cant make a new line 90% of the time and have to close out of project to get it to work. My pen would create a new point on a path but with the line of the writing pen so the first dot was full then every dot after that would be nearly invisible. Not a stable update by any means, hardly usable. I’ll probably wait to use again until next update. It’s pretty unbearable and incredibly frustrating to use. I loved the app before recent update so I’m hoping after an update it’ll all get fixed.

Can’t believe this app is free. I just got my iPad last week and immediately downloaded a few paid apps I had heard of for doing design work. During my search I came across Vectornator. This app is amazing. Feature wise it has pretty much any tool you need to create robust vector graphics. It’s not as robust as Illustrator of course but I rarely feel limited. In addition to all the features the UI for the app is one of the best UIs I’ve used on iOS and best so far I’ve used on iPad. I really commend the creators of this app. Blown away that it is free, especially compared to many other paid apps.

As Vectornator this was the best app, now it’s awful. Vectornator was intuitive, fast, and simple to use. After the “upgrade” to linearity, all of the basic features have been changed and downgraded. They’re no longer intuitive. I can’t delete singular nodes, I can’t end a line and start a new one with the same settings, drawing stuff is out of order, and the app is just a mess overall. It’s also switching to a monthly subscription for “special features” which immediately turns me away from the app. I would’ve been happy paying for a one time fee to use the app in its prior state. Now it’s basically unusable to me. I don’t recommend this app.

Beautifully Designed. Vectornator attracted me because I have been trying out many other drawing apps in hopes of finding a really nice pen tool and aesthetically appealing design. This app appears so far to have one of the best alternatives to a mobile Adobe Illustrator. But one thing I haven't seemed to find is an option to have a tapered stroke in this app. I'm not sure if it's just because I can't get it to work or to find it but I would really love for there to be a nice stroke option like that if it is not included.

An actually useful vector design app. This is the first vector app on iPad pro + pencil that works in an intuitive way. Integration with Adobe cloud services makes life easier when transferring to Adobe Illustrator. This app is worth paying for, but it’s free, so win-win! It does have a few bugs, such as the brush tool always switching to a black color when drawing, but besides that the app is pretty solid. I can do most of my designs on the iPad now instead of relying on Adobe Illustrator on the PC. Also, if you’re familiar with the open source application “Inkscape”, this app will feel right at home.

Essential for vector art. I have used Graphic for iPad for years with no complaints; however, I recently started creating more complicated images and found myself browsing for more advanced apps. Just before spending $20 on Affinity I came across this open source gem. I gave Vectornator a try and haven’t looked back. Full-featured, easy to use, and free. The only slight negative is infrequent crashing when applying effects like rounding corners or saving templates, but my work is always saved when I reopen the program. Really just a minor nuisance every now and then. Highly recommended!

Can’t get Creative Cloud AI file import to work.... I truly wanted to love this app, and was so excited to finally be able to edit AI files on my iPad Pro. I will be more than willing to update my review once I can figure out either what I’m doing wrong or exactly why the program isn’t importing my Creative Cloud AI files. The CC logo will appear and it’ll show that it’s loading, but upon finishing will just return to the gallery screen and no file loaded. The forums are basically useless for these issues, and from what I’ve seen from perusing through these forums and the other reviews, this is an issue that seems to be happening to a small percentage of other users as well. I would like to also include that the Creative Cloud files I am trying to import are vectors licensed through Adobe Stock. Not sure if this makes a difference but at this point I’m at my wits end and have tried just about everything — including downloading the original AI files and importing through a separate location. Please fix this, it is so frustrating when this is supposed to be one of the better equipped apps that integrate Creative Cloud applications.

UPDATE: Crashing. Just updated the app about an hour ago & now cannot open the app at all. Got a message that it needs to be attached to App store (which it is). Cannot even open the app through the app store either. I use this to build digital images for different things & need to be able to use the app. UPDATE: After not getting a response within a few hours, I decided to delete the app & reinstalled it. That fixed my issue of it crashing. In response to the developer, the last update I install was the one y’all pushed out now 3 days ago & there is no other updates. Uninstalling & installing fixed my issue.

This update includes several improvements for designing with even more precision. GUIDE ENHANCEMENTS - Guides now show real-time labels indicating their precise position on the canvas, making it easier to place them accurately. - Guides now adhere to rounded numbers, making alignment tasks simpler and more intuitive. - This feature adjusts intelligently to the document's measurement unit, ensuring guides automatically align to every incremental unit (e.g., 1px, 1mm). This facilitates smoother design adjustments. LINE HEIGHT CONTROL - Fonts now display default line height in points (pt). - You can now set line heights below the default value, allowing for a "negative line height." Setting the line height to zero (0) will result in a true zero line height. - You can now fine-tune line heights with values in points or percentages for precise text layout and design control. ——— We’re on a mission to empower designers with the ultimate tools for bringing ideas to life.
