It’s so easy and fun to use. I am currently learning French and Japanese. I felt that I wasn’t focusing on my Japanese enough, so I downloaded this app. I am terrible with technology and even I can use this app. The lessons are very easy to follow. I also love that it includes a page where you are able to read about Japanese culture. I wish that this company would make a similar app for other languages such as French, Italian, etc.

It Crashes. This is a very good app, but it crashes every time I try to open it. I tried closing and opening the app, turning my phone on and off, and tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but same thing keeps happening. It keeps doing it after the first lesson when it tells me snippets of Japanese culture. Each time. Please fix this, so I can use this app again. It doesn’t happen for the Korean or Chinese one. It’s just the Japanese app.

Can't sign up OR sign in.. It seems like a good app, downloaded because I'm learning Japanese and the "chatting" feature seemed like it would help me. I downloaded and opened the app to prompt the chatbot 'Lanny' to ask my name and what I'd like to learn, I chose the 'greetings' option and got told to sign in or sign up. I tried signing in with my Google account, it gave me an error message. Tried signing in with my same email through "Sign up with email" and it said that my email was already in use, though it would NOT let me sign in. I tried my other email and it did the same. Signing in through facebook didn't work for me either. App has potential, if it'd let me sign up.

um. I have two email accounts and I tried making a account with them. but the app says both email addresses are in use by another account…😶

Paid for premium, app doesn’t work. Paid for premium but app google sign on is broken so I’m locked out of all premium features.

Love the app but. The app is so great for learning the language, but I wish that the culture notes would be updated more! And I hope new lessons can/will be added because this is honestly the best app for Japanese language learning. I bought both the Japanese and Korean app, and I feel the Korean app gets a new culture note incredibly often so I just wish the Japanese app got more updates on those too! But other than that it’s great!

Can’t even sign in. I made two accounts with different emails and it still doesn’t let me sign in, it either says the account doesn’t exist or there’s a server error. Do better you egg 🍳 ! I’m playing, but seriously fix it 🥺

Great for very beginner. If you’re a intermediate Japanese language learner, this might be too simple. I don’t think it’s a true chatbot. You can only enter in what it tells you to enter. I was hoping to have a virtual friend to practice with.

Paying really?. Ok how bout” NOT paying to continue I'm not hating or anything but I'm just saying why should you pay to learn Japanese seriously?

Good app but kinda misses... This app isn’t terrible and it is definitely helping me learn the Japanese alphabet, but on some things like the quizzes I put in the right answer and it keeps telling me I’m incorrect. When it finally tells me what the correct answer was it is exactly what I had already entered 3 times. Please fix this! I really like this app otherwise.

Advanced Lessons. This is a really neat app. Love the UI, it has a lot of cool cultural facts, and the way that it works is very intuitive. The only problem is that at present, it’s kind of only useful for beginners. Would be nice if there were lessons for more advanced students.

Almost... Great idea but doesn’t work. It says ALL my answers are wrong. It says type yu I type ゆ it says I’m wrong. I’ve checked with mitt Poe sources I’m not wrong. I’ll try again after the next update.

Glitch. This app seems so cute but every time I try to log in or sign up it says error 503. This may be a glitch but if so can you please fix it!

One of the best apps I’ve used. It’s fun, you learn about the language and the culture, and best of all, its free! Out of all if the apps I’ve used to practice the language always ask you to pay for more lessons, to practice more lessons, or even to start practicing lessons! This right here is an app that I would recommend to any beginner or intermediate language learner!

It’s easy and fun to use but.... It’s really simple and easy to use for beginners but I can’t use it anymore since the app just shows me the loading screen. Also I wish there would be like simple worksheets with sentences you have to translate or games that you could do.

Absolutely adore!. I literally love! ! It’sdoesn’t have any bugs and it’s very smooth. I have a problem with diagnosed adhd but this helped me so much! why no lifetime payment?. both the korean and japanese apps work perfectly. only regret being there is no lifetime premium for either. would totally purchase both if such options were available

My FAVE resource, but needs improvements!!. I would happily pay every single year for the premium app (as they don’t have a lifetime option).. but haven’t yet upgraded because it seems they don’t continually add to the lessons, vocabulary, and cultural bits as other reviewers have mentioned. Really too bad or I would recommend it to everyone I know who wants to learn Japanese!!

I absolutely hate emoji’s. Atleast give an alternative dialogue it gets annoying fast.. Putting emojis in doesn’t make learning any “funner”, I just get reminded of how people don’t know how to communicate without flashy, And irritating stickers

doesn’t work. Doesn’t work. for a few weeks i’ve tried to create an account and log in and no matter what i do it gives me a message saying “error 503 service unavailable”.

Not correct. I speak a little Japanese and I wanted to learn more, but some of the stuff is incorrect. Plus, the writing doesn’t match up with what’s being said in the lesson I’m learning now. I’m going to cancel my subscription.

Literally so amazing. This app helped me improve my japanese so much its incredible!!!

Good but... I found this so cute and just helped a lot but a downside is I tried signing in to my egg bun account on my Cromebook but it just wouldn’t work it might just not be compatible with the cromebook or there is a bug in the app. Despite that small downside it is really good and I even got the 6 month trial payment, but it would be nice if it was completely free.

Great concept with issues. The most annoying part so far is the chat bar popping up and down after every single response - that’s not how you text, so why does it happen here? Also, there seem to be some general bugs In the overall experience. The app said “if you want to continue your lesson you need to pay for premium”, I paid it, and then it stopped the lesson and said “thats okay, we’ll take you back to the free stuff” That basically seems to be my experience so far - I want to give it my money but some performance issues are making me nervous. Also - some noticeable English grammar errors are present. Which makes me nervous if what I’m being taught in Japanese is accurate or not.

Wasted My Money :(. I paid for a year of this and I’ve hardly been able to use it. The app crashed a lot after I purchased a year so I didn’t complain since starting again wasn’t that tough. Now it won’t let me sign it at all. It says my sign in failed and it boots me out of the app. I’ve closed out the app and I’ve tried after countless updates. I’ve emailed customer service and tweeted them with no response. I feel like I wasted $40+ on nothing and I really want my money back.

Only first lesson is free. The Korean app is way more polished and organized than this one. The first lesson isn’t enough to make me want to pay a subscription. The app needs more work done on it before I will consider paying money. Good concept but bad execution.

This app is completely broken. I tried to signup and it kept giving me an error of “service unavailable” or “this email already has an account” that’s impossible because I just learned this app exists. When I went to go give feedback for the app, it took me to the “login” page which doesn’t work. I wanted to see if FAQ had an answer but there are none in existence. Terrible underdeveloped app.

Enjoyable and Helpful Chatbot Tutor!. I have been studying Japanese for a long time, and Lanny is a great help. I love the design and how it’s made. The colors look a bit nostalgic. アリガトウ、タマゴbun! 😊

problem.. so i really love the app so far and it’s super helpful, but for some reason i CANNOT sign in. i tried to sign up but it was my email was already in use so i just reset the password, and then tried logging in with the new password but for some reason it says invalid argument. help please?

App error. I used to use this app and I really liked it but I then changed phones and the app won’t let me sign in or sign up (you can’t save your progress without an account) It keeps showing up Request Failed (503)

A great language app. Other apps for learning Japanese are good in their own right. This one has helped me more than any other Japanese app in terms of typing and feeling proficient in a modern way. I like how it seems like you’re actually texting someone. I enjoyed the free version and have started my first paid month. I know it will help me actually learn a lot.

Stuck on loading!. Please fix! Asks to login but never stops loading.

Many Errors in Basic Typing Exercises. I have been studying Japanese for about three years and got into Eggbun because I heard it helps with typing specifically. After a few days of use, I have come to this conclusion: I think the concept of this software is great, but there have been many errors in the basic hiragana and katakana typing questions. For example, one question asked me to type じゃ in katakana. I did, but the software counted it wrong. After trying a few different possible responses and checking the instructions, the answer was supposed to be written in hiragana. This instance is not the only issue I have experienced. Japanese is already a difficult language to learn. When a beginner is trying to type a basic answer and it is counted wrong, this causes major issues in the long term. Coupled with several other errors I have experienced, this app is nearly useless. I will be cancelling my subscription because of this and wanted to send a reason.

Need a refund. This app is in no way bad or anything, but when i made a purchase it said 3.83/month But when i clicked on it, it charged me 40$ please, please refund me i do not have the money for that, i dont even have that ammount of money please fix this

Payment.... Well, there is a 6 months payment, 12 months payment, and a 1 month payment... I am really shocked that there is no a lifetime payment... PLEASE make a lifetime payment and I really recommend it. But there is no other negative point about this app. It works really well it has no crashes and has a really great was of learning you the Japanese language. The same for Eggbun for learning Korean. And I would be so so so thankful if they made a lifetime payment🌺🌺🌺

Sign In Failure. I have to report on the sign in failure..how am I going to use the premium if I can’t sign in?

Clunky and All Over the Place. The lessons are set up in a way that doesn't really make sense for learning. It's clunky and the bot is difficult to communicate with. I was redirected mid-lesson twice. I gave up when a "quiz" of only 3 questions reported that I'd only gotten 6 out of 7 correct. I wasn't even asked 7 questions. The design is really cute. It's a great idea. I hope it improves so that I can't try again in the future.

Mixed feelings. While this seems like very good idea, I can’t seem to remember anything I’m just asked to copy what Lanny has told me to do. And there are no recommendations of the order of corses to go through so when choosing the course and the first thing lanny tells me is “using the Hiraga and katana you have already learnt…” I feel very confused as to where to start.

Thorough; but currently covers only phonetic alphabets. This app is cute. It runs well. So far it seems only to cover the Japanese phonetic alphabets (hiragana and katakana), which isn't so great for anyone other than a beginner. However, as a tool for learning the phonetic alphabets, it appears to be very thorough; the app does not seem to use romaji in lessons (a plus!), has recordings for sounds, and encourages picking up the letters in a fun interactive way. I would love using this app if it was updated for a intermediate learner who wants to practice simple and complex sentence structures in an interactive way (this would definitely be worth paying for if it was thorough!). :)

The app no longer lets me access premium. I’m paying for premium and it won’t allow me to sign in anymore to use it. It says “request unavailable” every time. This was not an issue before. While this is an amazing app (albeit with some bugs) that I love, it seems like no one is taking care of it or updating it. I also can’t find a way to reach out to the developer for help. Reaching out to them on Facebook did nothing. I’m going to have to cancel my subscription if this problem is not fixed soon—I’m not going to pay for something that won’t work.

Overall, I like it!. I really like learning with this app it helps me remember, and I have very bad memory so it’s pretty good with because of the word list. Also, it gives you a chance to learn about some culture! The only thing I really don’t like is that you have 1 free chapter then you have to get the eggbun premium. I kinda wish there were more chapters I could do without the eggbun premium but yeah, over all I like this app.

Can’t Sign In. The new update doesn’t let me sign in. It says it’s not a registered user (something about it being in development and me not having permission?) when I try with Facebook. I tried just signing up with email but it says that email was already in use. But it won’t let me login with email because I don’t have a password... I just used Facebook before. I bought premium and had progress tracked... really need this fixed, I love the app but it’s unusable right now and I’ve put money into it :(

Crashes. Every time I pass “no” on the hiragana lesson, the app freezes and crashes... :/

Broken. The number section does not accept my answers I write 十二 and for 12 and it say it’s incorrect and that the answer is 十2二3 other things work well i like the culture section

Best one yet!. I dont normally rate apps, but this one is definitely worth the subscription! Its super fun and makes learning easier opposed to boring apps that only use flashcards and a monotone recording.

One problem. I love love love the app, definitely worth the price but when I got to learning the names and spelling of different countries it asked me to arrange the symbols to spell “Korea” which would’ve been “かんこく” but it does not provide me with a か symbol I tried to send them feedback on the issue through the app but it kept saying error when I tried to send it.

Great for absolute beginners. Waiting more on advance courses.. I'm happy that Eggbun has an App for people who want to learn Japanese. But with me learning Japanese for a long time and I want to improve my Japanese, I really don't like the Romanji and I wish there a setting where is optional to have the Romanji on or off. I don't wanna learn Japanese base off Romanji. I only want is just Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji only. But for Learners who never learn Japanese and want to learn now this App is perfect for Beginners who don't know the Hiragana chart.

Sign in issues. The app looks cute and very helpful however, I don’t like that it pesters me to sign in to save my progress. While failing at every attempt to sign in with either “Service not active” or and error code “503”. This was a waste of time.
