The best iPad DAW. I came from Logic and feel right at home. Actually, it would be hard to go back to Logic (if it ever came to iPad) because I love Cubasis 3! Edit: Had to update my 5 star review to a 3 star review. I’ve put 100+ hours into this app, and I continue to use it everyday. There are too many short-comings. I thought all of my audiokit apps were buggy because of the constantly crackling sounds i get out of Cubasis 3, even after trying each of the latency/buffering settings for extended periods of time. The crackling does not happen in beatmaker 3. Cubasis 3 is great if you don’t load any 3rd party auv3’s, but the second you do, some midi wont trigger, the audio will take a massive hit, constantly crashes. CONSTANTLY crashes. Loading a project with more than 7 instances? Crash. It does a good job on saving where you were, can’t fault them there. If this app didn’t make out to be the best daw on iOS, it would be 5/5 app. Since I’m trying to make this my one-stop shop for producing, I need to bring my review down. Would love to move it back to 5 stars. I am running a 2020 iPad Pro (12.9) on the latest firmware. I couldn’t have a stronger iPad, I can’t imagine what this program would be like on a lesser-iPad.

Bugs and glitches. I would give this a 5 star but when I get somewhat done with my track I’ll save it and go to bed then the next day I go to work on the track it messes up , it will be extremely pitched down and sounds like I clicked record and recorded the whole song on another phone and it gets aggravating but it’s slowly starting to not do that but if y’all will work on the app to make sure it doesn’t do that it would be amazing and also I would love it if y’all made it to where I can pitch up my vocals more than one octave but other than that I love the app , worth the money and there some other issues I have with the eq and stuff

a traditional daw. I’ve purchased many iPad app daws, this is by far the most traditional desktop-class daw experience out of all of them. If you simply want a linear style daw that your used to working with and not another ‘new take’ on a daw, this is the one you are looking for. I’m primarily using it to edit and process custom samples for loading onto external gear. Very couch friendly experience, editing samples has never been so comfortable. Only negative for me is some of the ui menu options don’t feel like they were put in intuitive locations, where you go to import and render audio is a bit of a head scratcher at first. Although this could just be my lack of familiarity with Cubase workflow in general. 9/10

Was working.... I love CB2 and I was very happy to see the next step for this DAW. Unfortunately a bunch of my AUs started to cut out, then stopped altogether. I get no sound at all and the playhead stutters and just hangs. I’m sure this will be fixed but as for now it’s unusable for me and a shame because other wise I’ve had no issues with it. I’ll be waiting for the update! ::edit:: so after this review and the dev response, that night the app worked fine. So excited! Next morning same issues started again. Works fine on my phone, everything is fine in C2. Im using a new iPad pro so i cant figure out any other ideas except to delete it and just keep checking it every now and then Sometimes you're the dog, and sometimes you're the hydrant.

Decent DAW, I highly recommend. Amazing what I can do on my PHONE. So I’ve been working with this software since Cubase 5 and I must say this app is absolutely amazing for a mobile app, I feel way more “unlimited” in this app than I did with GarageBand & sequencing is such a breeze.. BUT what I would take this app OVER THE TOP for me would be two simple things: One, it was be AMAZING to have TIME MARKERS. So much easier to see where I’m at in my project if i can just label a “Verse” “Chorus” “Bridge” etc and if that becomes implemented we should be able to have the option to click on our “verse” or “chorus” and just copy the whole section & paste it to where we need it. It would speed up workflow so much.. And of course, more VST’s. I loved HalionOne as a stock engine but I’m assuming Microsonic is essentially the answer to that? But other than that, I LOVE this app and it’s definitely my go to until I can build an actual set up with Cubase 11. Thanks for satisfying my creative urges yall are seriously amazing.

Love this daw but a few things wrong. Still #1. iOS 16.6 m2 iPad Pro.. issues with routing MIDI… every time I try to route some MIDI into another track for side chain, waves tune, BLEASS voices for whatever reason my menu pops up behind the plugins. I can see the top barely and it won’t allow me to turn on or off anything. If you guys can’t fix this part then maybe just put another MIDI routing window somewhere or in the settings. Like AUM.. also with the visual browsing of the AUBE, it would be great if you guys could add a search bar when looking for Audio Units. Then we can use it with Cubasis instead of ONLY AUM… please PLEASE please… great app. But a few hiccups

5 Star potential with a lot of 1 star issues. First off, this DAW is very likely to take over as my main workhorse..... eventually. I really do love it and enjoy using it. The workflow feels good, a very inspiring GUI, decent enough built in instruments but nothing spectacular, but hey, that’s what AUV3 is for. With that said, this needed wayyyyy better testing before being released. It’s Beta quality at best. Before you buy make sure to check out the Steinberg forums for the known issues, and maybe wait for this long anticipated 3.0.1 update that is taking entirely too long. There’s no pencil support, copy/pasted midi events don’t play, a whole laundry list of little issues I won’t go in to, but they’re all there on the forum so check it out before spending the money. Aside from that, it has massive potential, and the devs have been good about communicating with the backlash with promises of this future update. If they do a good job correcting the issues this has a great chance of being a game changer. Don’t take my negativity towards the issues wrong way. This is/will be a S.O.L.I.D. DAW, it just simply isn’t a finished product yet, and they probably shouldn’t have rushed it out the door, but I understand the business model of hitting the holiday season when everyone is spending those Apple store gift cards. Hopefully that money goes into further development, and finishing what they started. If they do I will gladly be changing this to a 5 star review.

Almost did it!. First you charge us for the upgrade, I said well it’s a daw on an Ipad, so it's understood, but then I see you took out something’s to add on others and I said ok. Please understand, this is not a hobby for me,this is about making the transition from a computer to the iPad and if you say it’s a daw, then give me the full Monty, I paid for it. Outro! Why doesn’t Cubasis 3 have midi clock or any sync in for use with controllers or sync with computer. I don’t get it. and I’m noticing many bugs appear that should have been corrected with updates. please give us sync in and a select all tracks option. Other than that it’s a great app, but you left out some things and still need to correct others.

Great. I think like many of us hoping Apple will soon provide Logic for the newer M1 iPad Pro’s, this is a fair breath of fresh air. I like the ease and familiarity and features of Logic on Mac, but Cubasis does provide some top tier features for an on the go feel. An iPad could essentially be your studio centerpiece (with appropriate USB hubs and such for expansion), and with it’s in app purchases, and third party plug ins, (ideally iK’s MixBox) you can track and mix a song from front to back anywhere with some very good quality plugins. It’s features and highlights are already highlighted, and they’r very handy. Of course the virtual mixer, it’s very easy to track and add plug ins, and polish things up with minimal gear. A midi controller, a decent mic, and a decent interface with decent monitors, can all go a long way to now make mobile pro production a breeze. I 100% recommend, and give it a 4 out of pure stinginess of hoping Logic will some day find its way on here, as if I had to choose between mobile producing on an iPad with Cubasis or Logic, I’d have to go the Logic route mainly from personal preference and experience, and not at all a jab down towards Cubasis. Great job Steinberg!

Constant crashing and freezing. Man, this would get 5 stars if it worked properly for more than a few minutes at a time, and btw I am running version 3.2.1 with a brand new iPad Air 4th gen (256 GB). It even just crashed on me while I was scrolling through the freakin ‘Help’ literature, and it was the only app I had open, ridiculous. Another issue I’m experiencing is when going through my projects eventually I’ll open one and things will just freeze, won’t be able to play back that project or get out of it and choose another. Things have seemed to get worse over time. Bought it a couple months ago and was putting some good hours into and I did notice these issues happening eventually, but not like when it was super new, maybe that’s why I haven’t even played with it until tonight and wow it’s bad, Guess I’ll go learn garage band. This app would be awesome if it worked, regret the purchase.

I am just confused.. I have been a loyal Steinberg customer for many years and this was my first foray into their mobile offerings as I just got a new iPad, but I am sad to say that this product does not match the quality of their products. It seems rushed and incomplete. I found out after purchasing that the sampler edit functionality isn’t even included in the initial release. Now I have to wait until at least end of March. Really? That is very basic DAW stuff. Not to mention the instability and crackling with IAA apps. I would have much preferred they waited to release until it was perfect. It has a lot of potential to be the best iOS DAW but it has left a bad taste in my mouth about Steinberg and how they treat their customers. When I spend 50 bucks on an app I expect it to work as intended and at the very least be fully functional on release. Very disappointed. I know they are diligently trying to fix it but it still baffles me how it could be released like this. Some features I hope they include in the future are the ability to use search terms in the media bay and side chain compression at the minimum.

The best DAW for iOS - and perhaps all around. Don’t get me wrong. I love GarageBand/Logic, and seamless integration with Apple. However, when talking about people who know the business, look no further than Steinberg. Cubasis/Cubase is the best DAW all around. It is and always has been the most powerful. Now, Cubasis 3 is by far the best and only DAW any professional would use on an M1 iPad. As a former Cubase user, I really regret switching over to Logic Pro as my main DAW, but I sold my license and e-licenser so that ship has sailed. However, when recording in my iPad I no longer use GarageBand to port over to Logic. Now I use Cubasis 3 exclusively since 3.5 update. People used to rave about the terrible and paid-rated Auria Pro by WaveMachine Labs. People don’t know its abandonware and the developer and coder who made the company sold it to some ragtag bunch that are just reaping in the cash from App Store sales because no one says anything about it online (or they are really that good at hiding their DirtyScam). Whatever the case is, NEVER buy Auria Pro or Drumperfect Pro, same people….buy Cubasis 3 and Lumbeat RDM. Best investment I made as an iPad iOS musician. PS Cubasis 3.5 is such a good update that I was even thinking about repurchasing Cubase just to have the portability from iOS to macOS.

Working well until recently UPDATED v2. This DAW is unparalleled in almost every way. Unfortunately, my latest experience is that it locks up upon launch. UPDATE. I may have figured out what the problem is. Apparently the app takes time to load all of the audio units because it eventually does launch and restores the most recent project. PS Dev responded quickly giving reason for the lag due to AU plugin density - which confirmed my suspicions. In other words either use fewer plugins, use less mem-intensive plugins - or hope that devs will decrease memory usage in their apps.

Not Happy. The developer does not seem to be interested in sending out an update to fix the many bugs this application has. Cubasis 3 was definitely sent out before it was ready. When I reached out to the developer to get an honest answer as to when the update would be released I was not given an answer. I was basically told it would be in the future. I definitely could have figured that on my own as I already knew it would probably be “In the future”. It would be nice for the developer to just shoot everyone straight instead of just giving everyone the runaround. You can see this as the response is the same copy and paste response. I definitely expected more from a company of this caliber. Take care of your customers and they will take care of you.

Great workflow but no support for Tempo or Meter changes. I love the workflow of Cubasis 3, but there is no support for either tempo or meter (time signature) changes, which for me prevents using it for serious music production. I bought Cubasis 3 when it was first released and I’ve been waiting patiently for Steinberg to add support for tempo changes (tempo track support), meter changes (such as from 4/4 to 3/4 ) or support alternate time signatures (like 6/8). However, the stock answer from Steinberg has been the same for years, with no indication whether it will be months or years before support for these features is added: “Tempo / Signature track support remains on our list, but the feature is unlikely to be added short- or mid-term”. This is such basic functionality for music recording, I can’t believe we’re still waiting for this - very disappointed. I love Cubasis 3 - it’s touch interface is very elegant - but I may be forced to abandon it. My review would be 5 stars if Cubasis included these basic DAW features. Other iOS DAW competitors have these features but the workflow is not as smooth or intuitive. Such a shame.

I bought this... :(. I bought this to use Voloco in side a daw. But it’s not working at all in app. So I tried it with audio bus and nope. So the main reason I bought the app for doesn’t work. WOW. Disappointed. Thought I was finally getting away from GarageBand but nope back to apple products that work. 🤦🏼 should have know better. Update: finally got Voloco to work in the app after messing with it for awhile. And when I load the app it automatically opens with it working when Loading the project it’s saved in. Added one star back so far. DSP: is this showing my effects processing ability? So with ONLY voloco open it’s at 40% that’s just one plugging. I’m on a the Xs max. So I see I will have to record all my vocals first then close Voloco then to mix’s and master. This is just me having to readjust to a new work flow and mapping it out in my brain. I’m use to mixing as I go. So it will take some getting use to but I’m up for that hopefully it will make my work flow faster and more effective. Hopefully Cubasis plug-ins take no DSP so I can get the most out of the DSP when using AUv3 plugins. I also have a IPad Pro but am trying to get the most out of my Xs max before jumping over to my IPad Pro which hopefully has more DSP power. Will let you know ASAP.

Hands down best/fun DAW for the ipad. Get this app and don’t think twice about it. With each upgrade, it just gets better. I have been using DAWs for close to 20 years and this app is so intuitive. I constantly tell folks trying to get into electronic music and music production, if you can’t afford to buy a bunch of gear, this is a really great option and will give you really high quality results. Wanna do a podcast with full production? 😎 I think with anything it can always get better though. It would be nice to add a video input option, so you could score to a film on the go. The new M1 chips are insane and take some serious processing. Tip of the hat Steinberg, thank you for so many countless hours of creativity. Cheers!

Mixed Feelings. So I think it’s a great improvement, so much that I want to use it now. ... well, until I began to use it. To compare I am long time Auria Pro user. Both have feature sets that compliment each other in different production stages. ( runing on newest Ipad Pro 12.9) First, The program needs state saving of the mixer and settings. Certain setting keep reverting back when reopening app. And the mixer, Everytime I open the app I have to waste time setting everything up again for workflow. Now the serious problems. Severe latency will occur of 1/2 second. I have to keep restarting the ipad several times and shutting off the Channel Strips. Eventually it works Severe digital distorting and breakup can occur once latency issue is resolved. Severe bluetooth issues: connection, distortion, slowing audio down... Things are not working well and I cant get work done. For $50 Im becoming very disappointed and I dont have free time to waste. Cant you release a beta version and charge after it works??? I run Auria Pro 10x harder with FabFilter plugins and I havent a fraction of the issues in 48 hours. Sorry to complain, it has potential. But you charged me alot for me not to be able to use it. 5 stars after its fixed

MAJOR GLITCH...UNACCEPTABLE...FARICKIN FIX IT!!!. Guys... Had it not been for me having Cubasis TWO still, I would have not been able to confirm the fact that Cubasis THREE puts tracks OFF SYNC after they have been mixed down. This has driven me crazy for a month. I searched every parameter within 3, performed mix down after mixdown, and every time, at least one track is NOT in sync after having hit the mixdown button and then reviewed in auto play. I finally went back to Cubasis TWO and redid the very same files, mixed down, and NO PROBLEM.... I appreciate the improvements you’ve made with 3, but DAYAM... Do you have any idea how much time I have wasted?? And it would be nice if I could find a person to actually REPORT this to. This was unacceptable. Do you have any idea just how many apps, plugins, and other crap I have purchased through the years? SOMEBODY....PLEASE get in touch with me about this. I’m even willing to accept that maybe I’m overlooking something. But after putting it all back into Cubasis TWO with no problem, I’ll be waiting.......

Crazy improvement. Wow worth every penny works fest and GR8. just wold love multilayer sampling and combining sounds in the sampler and controlling the midi ccs thru midi I’m sure A lot of musician Will buy it also sf2 etc import thanks I really love it. on Cubasis 2 I had Maybe 2 months was just little hard but this won is just crazy thanks still needs some fixes stability the mute gets frozen some times the glue doesn’t behave well wold love to be able to control volume and knobs thru midi also DSP has to be fixed and in app plugins like wave crackles when using microsonic bass crackles some Times will have to wait a bit for a meager update. :UPDATE V301: Hi thanks for the update still waiting for some midi options mainly for when starching an audio should be detailed not unclear also to be able to see track in full screen the update is a GR8 1 this shows Cubasis is working hard the cpu can be a little better it’s much smother after new update but still sometimes spikes up also would love to see running Cubasis on external usb thru camera connection kit thanks keep up you GR8 work thanks UPDATE: on my new iPad Pro still crashing maybe because iOS 15 also wold be nice if I can export individual tracks and each track on Their own length UPDATE: I know that you can do separate tracks, but when doing this option, it exports according to the longest track and the rest is empty so please if you can fix it. also it would be nice if the resolution of the tracks gets updated thanks

Recording audio over usb no longer works.. Update: The recording of audio over usb works as it should… this was my fault. I turned off the microphone. I guess that is part of the chain of recording the external hardware tracks. Thanks to the great people at CUBASIS they found out what I had did. Recording audio over usb from external hardware synth (Yamaha Modx) no longer works. I have been using CUBASIS 3 since it came out. Unless you guys have changed the way you set it up. It no longer works. And yes I’m aware of the video Dom Sigalas put out. That is the way I first learned how to set it up. There is also a newer video by The Sound Test Room (CUBASIS 3.2 Tutorial - How To Record & Playback MIDI & Audio For Your Hardware Synths). It is no longer useful. I originally purchased this app because of that one fact… that it would work with my Yamaha products since Steinberg is a subsidiary of Yamaha. If the Developers need any info all they need to do is go by theses videos above and they will see they no longer work.

Would be awesome. Every other time I load a project, it’s says my sample rate was change to 24khz and tracks play at lower pitch. I have seen others have this issue. I have done the recommended remedy of starting a new project, closing app and restarting phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I really want to use this app because other than this it is perfect for mobile production. (Just did recent update, still no fix). Edit - Added star for quick response from developer and awesome to see how Lars responds to every review. Although there may be quirks, it can do so much and is apparent there is constant improvements and effort being put into product.

My go to DAW. I started producing music on iOS and was using Cubasis 2 (and later 3) to mix/master tracks. Sadly my iPad broke and I ended up moving to Logic Pro for about 4 months before getting another iPad to move back to Cubasis. Fantastic workflow, really great interface I cannot recommend it enough. Also if you’re on a tight budget getting Cubasis and AUV3s are significantly cheaper than buying the desktop plugins. I was looking at spending $2,000 to rebuy my eventide and fab filter plugins that I already owned on iOS. Again, I have no issues with Cubasis. I ended up going to desktop producing for awhile and have come back because I love the workflow

Great mobile DAW. This is a really well-polished app with a great feature set. It runs smoothly and implements most of the features that you would expect from a DAW. I think since this app is at a more professional level then many iOS music production tools, it is held to a higher standard (and hence the rating). I do however think there are some low hanging fruits in terms of potential updates. Side-chain functionality in the compressor is pretty essential. The whole send mechanism is a bit unintuitive and can see improvement. Maybe an “aux channel” model might be more appropriate and less limiting. Otherwise, I think the app does a good job of handling the intreraction challenges and opportunities found in a mobile touch device.

Wow. Update...I love this program...still needs a little fine tuning but hey it just came out...Cubasis 2 was out for a very long time before it reached it peak just like every program made..n track is still buggy as ever...this is the to-go-to program for mobile music creation....give the developers time...I’m making music that sound better than high price studios...yes it crashes but reloads very quick after restart...I hope the developers add more in future updates...don’t want to record on no desktop non more....this is it...learn how to use what you got...stop complaining...

Almost perfect.. For a mobile DAW, this is pretty packed. If you’re a serious hobbiest or if you’re full time job is music production, this DAW has it. It has its limitations naturally, but 80% of composition and production can be done here. There are relatively basic features that I am surprised are missing: visual view of envelops on each track, and song key/scale setting. For the audio envelopes, the app offers ways around this, however, it would be nice to see the envelope right on the track itself, and be able to adjust the points right there. For the song key/scale setting - most if not all DAWs have this feature. Even basic ones. So why it’s missing here, beyond me. Last gripe I have is with the inter app function - it doesn’t work, bottom line. It freezes. Crashes. Doesn’t matter which app I’m using. I have the latest iPad and using updated ios. This feature does not work. Otherwise, solid release and happy to support this in the future. It sounds like the developers listen and that’s a big plus.

Despite a shaky release and some growing pains, Cubasis 3 realizes it’s potential. UPDATE SEPT. 2020: Cubasis 3 has been a joy to work with and more & more this year anytime I start getting an idea or start screwing around with something it’s Cubasis 3 that I load up. It’s layout and ease of use make jamming and experimenting move into composing and then recording and mixing seamlessly. Excellent. I began using iOS Music Production apps in 2015 and now use iOS exclusively in my home studio. I used Cubasis 2 for many different projects, it’s features on par with it’s big brother Cubase. With this new 3rd version, Steinberg has increased the power, features and performance capabilities of Cubasis to make it. a pick ‘em between V.3 and Auria Pro or the title of Best iOS DAW. Highly recommended.

Lots of promise but the launch version is unusably buggy. First let me say I'm very excited about the promise of this new version. Steinberg had clearly listened to or feedback and that's not something I would have said 10 or 15 years ago. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to play with it over the holiday break. I'm seeing bugs that make it unusable. On my iPad pro I can usually run tons of instruments and efx before I need to freeze or bounce. With just a couple of instruments running it slows down so badly the GUI becomes sluggish and glitchy. Freezing the track does help but it breaks my workflow as I have to keep freezing and unfreezing to tweak sounds. Now way I could get a song finished like this but at least I can learn the new features.. Hopefully bug fixes will come quickly.

Could/Should be far better. As a person who is a fan of Cubase, this app is a HUGE letdown. Almost every time I try to record a midi track, none of the keys or pads do anything, as if it can’t register me touching the screen. Then I try to pause the track but it just keeps playing, causing me to have to close the app (and the track continues to play even after the app is closed). Then, when I reopen Cubasis, any and all progress I had made is gone. Extremely frustrating. I feel like this app tries to do more than what it can process, which is a shame because it has so much potential to be superior to any other mobile DAW available. I also wish you could change the song key like you can do in Cubase. Sure, Cubasis offers a lot more features than other mobile DAWs, such as GarageBand (which is free and runs almost flawlessly), but it isn’t worth the frustration or time lost. This app has a lot of improvements that need to be made. Until then, I’m sorry to say, I highly advise that you do NOT purchase this app.

Cubasis > Computer DAW. Cubasis is amazing, it’s so much more fun to mix down live recordings of my band away from the computer. Cubasis has all the features I need: - Easy navigation with two fingers (way better than a computer) - Can export a section of a project (annoyingly can’t do this in garage band) - Can use plugins for mastering/mixing - Store projects and exports in folders - Can use any audio interface (like a x32 mixer) and I have had no trouble with >12 channels recording at once - the user interface doesn’t get in the way like garage band does The one feature I desire is the ability to use iCloud from the app (beyond iPad backup), this would let the iPad offload projects automatically to prevent your iPad from filling up.

Love this app tho it gives me small issues most times. I don't know if this problem is specific to my IPad mini or the app itself but the cut and glue features, alongside stretch feature don't always work during first open use of a session. I have to launch my app tabs and refresh the app almost everytime to access those during a session I've already got going. Most times it didn't bother me since it was sparse and quick to fix. This new has update made it an incessant buzz kill now. Hurts my workflow just needed to put it out there.

Good But With Intolerable Flaws. Cubasis 3 is a decent DAW for iPad, but there are several flaws that absolutely ruin the user experience for me. Select Doesn’t Work: First, choose the select tool and then trying to draw a box around events just doesn’t work. It looks like it tries to start to draw the bounding box, but then it just disappears. That makes it impossible to select MIDI notes you want to work with and ruins the piano roll editor. Merge Clips: if you’re in loop mode and overdub MIDI parts, it records new clips on every pass but puts them on top of existing clips. The new clips, on playback, mask the clips below them from being selected. You can hear them, but you can see them or select them without moving the clips on top out of the way first. So, consequently, when you select what you think is a whole part to copy and paste it, you’re only selecting the top layer or your last recording pass. There’s no way I can find to flatten the clips into one.

Love it!. Update: Still loving it! After trying Logic Pro for IPad I have a new appreciation for CB3. The workflow in CB3 is such a pleasure nice to rediscover what you already know… I’m doing another review. I couldn’t recommend this after the initial release but now it works fine for my needs. I was very unhappy as I was unable to use the app for nearly three months. I certainly won’t challenge the developers to a lifetime of bitter hatred since they have worked hard to make the app great again. I now have transferred my IAP’S and all my projects. Once again I love this app and it’s my go to app. This is a great app with great support. Buy with confidence!

Could easily have been 5 stars, but weird design choices hinder. This is a great app for the most part. About everything you would expect from a DAW that you would even find on a desktop. However, there are 2 borderline absurd oversights for this DAW that will keep me in BeatMaker 3 and from purchasing any IAPs until these are fixed: pencil support and MIDI learn! It’s insane that you can use the pencil for some things but not others, and for iPadOS producers this is basically like telling a Mac user to use only a ball mouse from the 90s instead of whatever mouse they choose. Not having MIDI learn is super crippling as far as automation is concerned. It prevents proper use of knobs and faders defecates on potential or existing workflows. EDIT: Developer response leaves me hopeful. When these 2 features get me implemented I will up the review to 5 stars, which is what it will deserve then. For now I put it up to 4 stars from 3 for the promise of these features being implemented and the developers listening.

If you’re a professional musician...steer away.. Every update fixes one problem yet introduces another. And these are in or glitches that can be worked around but major glitches that completely shut down the workflow. When it wasnt complete crashes due to AUv3 compatibility, it was phantom clips moving all over the screen. And now the app just completely freezes all controls in the middle of editing. This has happened now in every project ive tried to work on recently. Every time i want to believe Cubasis is ready to go after a new update it disappoints me. Y’all have charged people way too much money in base price and add-ones to continuously have this many workflow-killing bugs. I keep coming back to it because ive already paid for it and I demand a better product that does what it is right now! Potential means nothing if its not even close to being realized. Smh As far as its potential its should be a 5 star app...but due to it’s bugs it barely gets 2 stars from me. Ive never been more disappointed with an app purchase than with Cubasis 3. Edit: If it isn’t one problem it’s another! Every update fixes one problem and then adds another. I invested my money with faith that this app would be better....it’s not. If you’re a professional musician, steer away.

Some added functionality in certain areas but.... It might be a little early to “rain in the parade” but only after a few days with Cubasis 3, I have found some puzzling aspects to Cubasis 3. 1) while there is complete apple pencil functionality with Version 2, V3 doesn’t respond AT ALL. I’m hoping (and praying) that someone just forgot to tell V3 to read the pencil. Otherwise, why in the world would you take functionality away from an upgrade situation. if I missed a button to push somewhere to activate blue tooth devices, please pass this info on because I could find no reference to this. 2) the logic in taking away scrubbing capability? 3) with V2, when you would press on a track to enter edit window, the midi information would be presented so you could immediately start working with it. With V3, the midi info is “smashed” together in a global view and requires a number of tedious moves to get it to any form of a working view. this HAS to be a glitch or bug. 4) upon initial work with V3, it appears your haven’t really added any new functionality in working with midi. Is there some reason why the capability to use either outboard or inboard midi controller in step time input has not been included. All for now, thanks

Great mobile Daw. I started muaic production on my iPhone, then took it o an ipad, but i felt like the result of it was weird. I always had quality sound problems, and there were some stuff i didnt like. Then i tried cubasis 3, wich is the best daw i used by far. It runs smoothly (sometimes overpwering it bugs it, but i just need to close the app and reopen it). I like working my drums on beatmaker 3, and producing, organizing and mixing on Cubasis. Ive made like 30 songs in the past year and i cant complain, love the plugins that are available, plus the interface is very well done and comfortable to use. I appreciate the last update, i can see how commited is steinber, keep dropping those jewels. The only thing i dont like is the microsonic instruments, i mean theyre alright, but you cant control ASDR, the pitch, or other cool stuff like fx. I find myself using Model D and Synthmaster 2, but i wished i had some quality “normal” instruments instead of using synths.

Alright so.... Alright so, Ive read every review before buying and pretty much knew what i was getting into when purchasing. Coming from Cubasis 2, it seems like the same app but it’s not. I understand this which is why i have no problem paying. The problem is the fact that you guys released this app without fully testing it out. Apple Pencil support is there but it doesn’t FULLY work. Most of the things in the program work for me so it’s fine and i enjoy the new features (I literally bought it for the mixer lol). I will wait for an update so that way the Apple Pencil works. It’s a new program yes but it doesn’t feel new at all. That’s why people are asking for a discount. If you guys would just fix what should be fixed then this could easily be the best DAW but I think you guys are more focused on money vs your customers being happy. Happy customers = more money.

The best! Period.. Wow I have dreamed of a DAW like this one on mobile device for years. I dare anyone to name one that comes even close for audio recording mixed with midi. This is a portable recording studio. The integration with third party effects and virtual instruments is so smooth. I guess most of the bad reviews were left months ago when the app was still in its infancy but really, this app today deserves nothing less than 5 stars. I have used cubase on desktop my whole life and trust Steinberg to deliver awesome products. Even if the app starts with bugs they eventually make you a satisfied customer. You can even tell by the way almost every review here is address by a human. Try finding many developers like that. This app looks beautiful on my iPad screen. It has all the essential features cubase has, down to the colorization of individual tracks. The way files, settings and features are managed and selected is pure genius. I could go on and on but i will let you judge for yourselves after downloading the lite version if you want to try first. I can safely recommend to any serious musician wanting to have a reliable mobile recording studio to just close their eyes and get Cubasis 3. Most issues you may have will eventually get resolved because the devs are listening, so what do you have to loose?

Cubasis. I have had Cubasis for years and I have enjoyed watching it grow into an even more fantastic application. On my iPad Pro it is a thing of awe and wonder. It is so powerful and it does so much. I learn something new almost daily. Originally I never came close to what Cubasis was capable of doing. As a guitarist, Cubasis was a great way to lay down a few fast tracks. Jam Origin Midi Guitar opened the door to being able to play soft synths with a guitar. Cubasis allows me to multi track to my hearts delight. There has never been a more exciting time to work with sound. I can carry my music studio with me wherever ever the muse takes me. Cubasis 3 nearly explodes with potential. I have a lot to learn which is actually very exciting. Cubasis has brought many things together l have been working on for awhile. It’s like getting the sonic circus under one tent. Carl R.

Is it just me ??. Everyone writes stellar reviews for this app so i finally broke down and bought it. I’ve spent a lot of time with it and still can’t create anything that sounds like anything. I have all the DAWs for ios and can use them all to produce tracks, but i can’t wrap my head around Cubasis. Firstly it takes ages to load when i first bring up a project, it just remains frozen for minutes. The workflow seems cluttered, i can’t get the timing right with my instrumentals, they always end up jumbled and off time. In apps like Nanostudio i have no problems building tracks so it’s not as if i’m clueless. I know people love this app but i’ve deleted it from my devices, i can’t use it.

I was expecting something more optimized by this point in the apps lifecycle.. Picked up Cubasis 3 and all of the APIs for the Xmas sale thinking that with the last update that they had worked out all of the apparent bugs from its launch a year ago. I was mistaken. I am running a 10.5 iPad Pro with 14.3 and even with one AUV3 running alone inside of Cubasis I am getting crackles. If I open 3 or 4 AUV3s Cubasis becomes completely unstable and unusable (for instance Nanostudio 2 I can run 10-20 AUV3 instruments and Fx before it starts to crackle). It seems Cubasis 3 is unoptimized for the 10.5 iPad Pro. I’ve tried re installing, changing the latency, various different AUV3s trouble shooting but the problems remain. Also, I am unable to record audio routed in via Audiobus to an audio track. I’ve used Nanostudio, AUM, and GarageBand over the last 3 years extensively, planning on replacing GarageBand with Cubasis in my workflow mostly to record vocals and audio track capabilities still not possible in Nanostudio 2. I will stick with GarageBand and Nanostudio until this hopefully is resolved quickly with an update. I will updated my review if the problems are worked out. Right now the 60$ I just dropped on this is pretty much a waste.

Awesome but. I really love Cubase and it’s my main tool for music making, mixing and mastering. Im running it on a Air 2 so this new updates are starting to drag my iPad down but it’s understandable. What I really am hoping for is if Steinberg can add volume control per pad for the classic machines. I know you can just add to different tracks to separate them then group them but that just take up cpu usage when all you really need is just one instance of a classic machine and away to be able to adjust the volume of each pad. Velocity is one way but if you have a snare and clap on the same note and you try to adjust the velocity of one or the other you end up still lowering the volume on both.

I Pad Super DAW.. Hi, Truly MIDI Learn needed, I can use it from my MIDI controller, but I did I lot of testing, sending MIDI notes from Cubasis 2 to act inside Cubasis 3, or interfacing both with MIDI Flow possibilities, and nothing happened, any MIDI app could do that?. Thank you. Hi, Lars, so glad about your response. Well, I did a lot of testing, it’s about sending notes from Cubasis 2 for triggering things in Cubase 3. It does trigger note events from the midi keyboard, but it do not recognize it coming from Cubase 2. Best. Hi, Lars, as mater of fact, I used Cubasis 2 for sending midi notes for triggering loops in Sample Tank, Lumbeat Drum apps and Infinite Looper, and all had worked. Best wishes. Hello, Dear Lars, thank you very much for your kind answer and support. Cubasis is simply great, always growing as a DAW. Well, I tried this remote midi work, but no response, Cb2 to Cb3, or adding MidiFlow, I will continue testing. Only that I erased midi notes in Cubasis3, but one note is stuck, no matter what I do, erasing tracks, closing the I pad, C-2 maintain working. Thanks again for your support, I will do more testings with Audio Bus and Ape Matrix, and I’ll be communicate if something happens. Please, have a good time.

I want to like it…. Actually, I want to love it, but I can’t. They finally get a UI that’s almost perfect, and then they throw in these god awful gradients that look like they’re from 2006, and these waveforms that look ripped out of Audacity 1.0. The rest of the UI is this really lovely, flat UI. Clean, spacing is decent, and then BOOM, 2006 slaps you in the face with these terrible gradients and old wave forms. Why not let us make those flat, and update the waveform when we’re zoomed out to look like SoundCloud or any other audio app that produces modern looking waveforms. Then when we zoom in, we can have the ugly, but more accurate looking waveform? Give us some options at least. FL Studio’s mobile tracks are beautiful. But so far, they’re the only ones who’ve got it right. I hope that these fellas get around to making the tracks match the rest of the UI instead of mixing 2020 flat design with 2006 web 2.0.

Absolutely perfect. Ok guys, this is a significant step above the previous version, which was nearly perfect to me and has been good to me for more than fifteen full length albums. This new one has amazing updates, and yes a TAD BUGGY (freeze exports sometimes not how intended) but as a chip musician, and experienced producer on a multitude of platforms and hardwares, all of the bugs are dismissible, Cubasis 3 remembers where I last was, right before a crash, and the chord editor is so incredibly powerful, I can’t complain about anything. The previous version had bugs with some internal effects, and those glitches are gone. Those glitches were way more annoying than the minor bugs I get in this one. More efficient than audio pro in my book and more dynamic and organized than any other app of its kind. Amazing work guys. I would pay a LOT more money if you ever wanted to add visual elements or video editing capabilities to this software.

Great DAW with more features than you would think possible.. With this new update, I’m going to buckle down and use this DAW as the primary tool for my new tracks. Had some crash issues with the last version, but from what I’ve read, they have been resolved. Cubasis has more versatility and is able to utilize so much more than other mobile DAWs, that I haven’t even scratched the surface, and I’ve been using it for over a year. My only complaint is that I can’t record MIDI using some aux3 software on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I suspect that is on the developers who made the virtual synths. All in all, it’s a solid suite of solutions for synthesis and sounds.

I-pad Pro + Cubasis 3 = (Studio Quality Recording DAW). I’m a life-long Musician ( Recording Artist ) I’ve been into every Music recording App on the Apple I.O.S Store and nothing has come close to Cubasis 3. As soon as I could afford it I just bought the App and all the In app FX purchases , ( and now with the extra Halion and Neo Fm Synth ) Purchases. I wish I knew about this App. before I bought half the AppStore in random synth apps and other squirrelly multitrack recording Set-ups. I must’ve spent at least $1,000 But Im not sorry cause I can use all those as well for plug in instruments inside Cubasis. I use “Geo shred “and all my “Module “ Pianos and synths . The quality is just getting Crazy -Good , and the new Halion and Neo FM sounds ,…rival all those other sounds I bought for their higher quality sound. This App is way ahead of the pack and is the closest you can get to a Pro tools or Studio-1 style / professional-Laptop D.A.W. For me I’ve found that the I-pad itself will falter first ( in CPU Performance) before Cubasis will. 1 trick is if you need to add so many tracks that it gets buggy ,..(which hasn’t happened to me,…) you can stop at around 15- 20 tracks ,..then mix them down to one stereo track on a empty song and continue to add 15- 20 more. This Things a monster and has features and secrets I’m still learning .

Unusable. I thoroughly researched different mobile DAWs before purchasing this product. For my semi-professional purposes I felt this was the best option for me, and in the surface it would be. I was aware of many reviews stating that the product seemed rushed and buggy, but I didn’t expect what I’ve encountered, and given my problem this product is COMPLETELY unusable. What I am encountering is when I am trying to record audio, the program will momentarily pauses (hiccup is the best way I can describe it) right in the middle of recording. This is not relegated to recording only, but playback as well. Imagine trying to record something and after a minute or two through your performance, the program crash for just a moment and through everything off. Needless to say it’s extremely frustrating, and as I said, completely unusable. To make matters worse, there’s so little help and information / documentation on Cubasis on the Internet - when you search Cubasis you MAY get a couple hits, but by far the majority search results are for Cubase. It’s a slick interface, and I was really excited to get some songs recorded, but with the issue I’m having, I can’t even lay down the first track. I want a refund.

Fix the sampler make it single sound sampler PLEASE READ THIS STEINBURG”. I wish cubasis 3 was like fr studio and what I mean by this is I wish they added how when you use your own sounds and kits and you put them down into a piano roll like on for studio. Example let’s say we’re gonna use 808 when you choose your own kit and choose an 808 and put it down it shows up in piano roll we’re you can plug in each notes and what semitones they are so there not all the same sounds so it goes up and down octaves etc I really wish they add single notes to cubasis like fr studio so when I make hi hats I can plug them in then put hi hat rolls at different octaves or semitones please add this please please please add this in your mini sampler so when I choose my own sounds it doesn’t use just that one key for that sound but uses all keys would love this to happen !!!!!! I would like to see this like GarageBand mobile how you put one sound in the sampler and then you go to the piano roll and the sound you chose has different tones as you click up and down the piano roll please change the sampler to be a single sampler like fr studio and GarageBand mobile !!!!!! I’m begging

Some Obvious Omissions. I can’t believe there still don’t seem to be any keyboard shortcuts or sidechaining EDIT: 6 months later there are now keyboard shortcuts and sidechaining. Which is excellent. That said, there are still no markers, no export to an interoperable format (like AAF) without the most expensive computer version of the app as an intermediary, and no upgrade pricing for previous users. It’s an improvement, but it’s still behind Auria on most of these features. And the cheaper Ferrite, if you want to do without the features Cubasis lacks

MIDI controller support very basic. Glad I didn’t pay full price for this. Cubasis supports midi controllers for note input, but nothing else. There is no way to play, stop, record, rewind, fast forward etc. from a midi controller. Forget about mixing with faders on a controller. This was requested on their forums, and people were told it was on the to do list SIX YEARS AGO. Do not buy if you want to map a midi controller.

Well featured but unusable.. Using latest version of app and iOS on iPad Pro.. keeps freezing or dropping out audio. Sometimes UI freezes. Projects load up with everything pitch shifted. Mainly using Koala with other plug ons. Disappointed, has SO MUCH promise but it just doesn’t work.. ..would give 5 stars otherwise.

GREAT APP BUT HAS BUGS. It is a very useful app but every time i try and import an audio file it crashes……

Awesome app. The app is great. Highly recommend it. Au3 function is awesome. Inapp purchases also worth it.

Mouse/trackpad support please. Good solid app, but it could go so much up to the next level productivity wise if it included full trackpad support now that iPadOS supports it generally! Please!

Time changes. There are other issues that need to be addressed but for a simple iPad daw, the only thing that would stop me from having to change to another daw is the ability to change time during the song. Should be a simple addition to the program yet I’m having to write all my music in 4/4… seriously what a joke, everything else I am enjoying and haven’t had a problem with.

Absolute Trash. I want a refund, spending $80 on an app to find out you have to pay for all the effects is absolute nonsense I should of stuck with Cubase 9.5 that I already had... What an absolute rip off $10 each for three effects at a time... Time to look at moving to another DAW

Cubasis 3. My only issue is the lack of an upgrade option I bought cubasis 1 then repurchased Cubasis 2 and now have to buy cubasis 3 at retail I own Cubase 10.5 and receive a discounted upgrade offer I don’t see why cubasis isn’t at least similar

No Tempo change. As a seasoned Cubase user, Cubasis was a natural choice for iPad. However I soon became disappointed to learn that there is no tempo change function. Flexibility and routing options are fantastic, just wish there was a tempo track option :/

FINALLY!!! World class recording software for iPhone ;-). Although the graphics are a bit small on an iPhone, all the features and quality of this software more than make up for that 1 small shortcoming.

👍👍👍👍. 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Cubasis 3.4.1. I'm so happy with this app. I am 70 and have wanted to write music since I was 4. I coppied out the manual so I will know everything about it. Great stuff !!!

Quick and easy stems. The developers listen and fix issues QUICKLY 😱. I’ve got a response saying this issue is being fixed with an update. So… fantastic software with fantastic support. I’m stoked!! (the stems blanking out when projects are changed issue) I use an iPad Air 4. Recording high quality where and when I want is important to me. The interface is easy to use, so much better than using a mouse on a laptop. The editing features are simple to use. Essential effects and audio tools are only a tap or two away. I loaded the app on my iPhone SE and was shocked to find that the app is easily functional and useable. The buttons adjust for use on a tiny screen. I now don't use reaper. It feels clunky and awkward in comparison. I only record real instruments so I can’t comment on the keyboard instruments. Fantastic software.

Cubasis. Great

Great features but bugs.... I tried out Cubasis 2 after borrowing a digital recording unit for 3 months and loved the interface, power and convenience of it’s mobile platform. I was able to learn the basics of using this software before finally purchasing my own recording unit by Steinberg, the UR22 MKII. I decided to purchase Cubasis 3 and to be honest, the UI looked very similar and didn’t think much of it until I explored further and found some very helpful tutorials which showed me a world of features that I didn’t see on the surface. The initial user friendliness just gave that wow factor but that’s where it ends. I learned a bit more about plugins and decided to try out a few from reputable developers and that’s when I ran into trouble. I started getting popping and crackling sounds in my exported songs. It then started crashing regularly and I started to get more frustrated. I thought it had to do with my iPad or used storage so I offloaded some apps and un-needed files but the problem still remains. I froze tracks and lost audio so had to revert. Unless a fix is made available, I may have to revert to Cubasis 2 unfortunately as I don’t have the money to fork out for the full PC version of Cubase 10.5.

3.2 glitchy when moving audio. Dragging audio blocks around is going all over the place at the moment. Key feature that has gone badly wrong in this update. UPDATE: This issue resolved with iOS v 14.2.

Awesome app. This is an awesome piece of software it does a lot and therefor it takes time to get used to it. I’m just learning and have not got my head around midi automation yet.

No MPE editing. A nice interface, and it can take input from MPE devices like a Seaboard just fine… but then it doesn’t actually handle MPE, it just pretends the first note’s expression parameters are global. Do not buy this with the hope of using it for MPE recording or editing.

A very capable app missing very basic features (keyboard support). I was honestly speechless when I discovered that this app has absolutely zero support for keyboard shortcuts whatsoever. I just don’t understand how you rebuild an app from the ground up in 2019/2020 and don’t include such a rudimentary feature. I could understand lack of mouse support, as that is new to iPadOS, but the iPad Pro has been around for FIVE years, with a keyboard attached. Trying to use this app with a modern iPad Pro and keyboard is a horrible experience. I keep hitting spacebar to play and nothing happens. Recording multiple takes feels so inefficient. Garageband has full keyboard shortcut support - and has done for some time. The lack in this is shameful. I really, really want to like it but AUD$80 for an app without this most basic of features just doesn’t cut it - I’m going to have to ask for a refund and keep using Garageband until Steinberg sorts it out.

Huge regret after purchasing this.. This app has potential and a lot of decent features BUT.... for the price I was expecting the included plugins to be far better instead of being pressured into buying more. The piano roll is extremely awkward to work with. The sampler makes your workflow feel clunky and slow. The only way I could see this being worth a fraction of the price you’re asking is by improving the piano roll, adding new instruments / fx for free (seriously $70 and you gave us a couple garbage plugins), and removing the optional purchases from the browser and into a separate shop button so that we aren’t bombarded by you trying to get more money from us. If you’re looking to purchase a DAW, instead maybe stick to GarageBand and a few free plugins. You can get more out of those than this by a LONG shot. Right now this is a huge waste of money considering what else is available and feels like a demo version of a DAW instead of the full thing. Can I get a refund?

Feature. This app is an amazing app. The best app that I’ve come across. With that said, I would like to make a request of a feature that should be added into this DAW. A feature that is available in some DAW‘s. Can you please add in audio quantize?

Update. Would you guys happen to know when you will be coming out with a new update ? The audio sometimes glitches when you are Recording.

Essential iOS DAW. This is the best DAW for iOS in 2021.

No tempo track; no time signature. The best useless app

Great App. Best DAW available. Way better than GarageBand.

Yep. Totally hooked.

Unnecessarily Complicated Second rate Daw. Complicated when it doesn’t have to be. About 20 bucks too expensive for what you get

Crashes. I was in the middle of a session. And my iPad ran out of storage space. I went and made room, deleted old projects. But Cubasis still shows the same amount of storage space used on my iPad as if I never deleted anything. When I try to open the app up again, it immediately crashes. I even tried rebooting my iPad and Cubasis still crashes.

Worst daw on iOS wow. I wanted so hard to love this but unless u use the internal instruments good luck on having a steady performance this app has made me want to literally throw my 2020 iPad Pro across the room out of sheer frustration wow it is so unstable it should be illegal for them to even charge for this. Unbelievable, it can’t even play a midi clip properly without skipping or doing some weird stuff....

The group tracks setting doesn’t work and the help section doesn’t work either. I’m having huge difficulty finding anything on how to group tracks midi or audio. Thank you And can we get send buses in the future so that they can be printed and have one plugin go into another

Incredible. It just keeps getting better.

Worth the time, and money.. Throughout my brief experience with his app, I’ve had many ups, and downs, many frustrating learning curves, followed by rewarding successes. I encourage hobbyists, enthusiasts, students, aspiring sound engineers, producers, and musicians looking to build their music from the ground up to take the plunge. My personal experience with Cubasis has helped me grow a lot so far. In all the sub categories as a musician, producer, and audio engineer. I owe a lot to this app, and Steinberg in general for bringing all the power of Cubase to the iPad. This experience has been thought provoking and has encouraged me to research many new techniques, and gain insight about all the ins and outs of sound design. Thank you for everything you’ve enabled myself, and many like minded people to experience. Your software is the reason I’ve grown so much in this field. I’m content with this app and the amount I’ve grown from this, and it’s only the beginning. -Aidan J

Very Good. To date this has been my favourite Daw on iPad OS. I’ve been using a 12.9 inch iPad M1 and the experience has been very enjoyable thus far. I’m not sure why but I just seem to have a propensity of working, creating and playing music using the iPad. After years of struggling with the bloated complicated mess of Pro Tools and thankfully eventually moving to Studio One Professional and after spending umpteen thousands of dollars in computer desktop software. I find myself happier and more creative in the confines of simplicity without all the ongoing technical issues and hurdles that was a prevalent reality within the desktop realm. I am hoping that the developers of Cubasis will keep up the good work and continually develop the software and have ongoing improvements and features and I would graciously pay for ongoing development towards major upgrades.

Really!😤. 😒Come on..... Why can’t I restore my in app purchases!!!!😡 this is why I jumped out the window so fast. And it keeps tell me I have no purchases when in fact I bought everything. I need this fixed ASAP. Oh yeah thanks for the iPhone version! But 3 for now but I’ll give a 5star review when this issue is resolved.

Completely unusable - zero stars. After couple of recording sessions the app makes screeching sounds when I press record, like dialup modems almost… Update: changing project fixed the issue - but note that closing the app had no effect until I changed project. It’s unfortunate that I had to jump through hoops to get things functional. I appreciate that the devs responded. For the moment, I am giving up on recording as having defective tools is a real downer especially after spending money.

Does not perform well at all. I use this on the iPad Pro 4th gen and it was okay for months and months (with crashing here and there) and all of a sudden (starting April 2021), it doesn’t even record my immediate vocals. It will reset to the last vocals taken or a different previous vocal recorded on the same track. It is super frustrating and also will change the track back to an old recording when you click normalize. It will also stop normalizing my tracks and I have to constantly exit, close, and reopen the application for anything to work. It took me 5 hours to record a small voiceover tape when it usually takes me 20 minutes. This system has some horrible bugs and isn’t even worth using unless they fix this up. Time is money and Cubasis 3 does not help you achieve a quick session whatsoever... There are other apps that will definitely work better. I gave two stars because when it does work, it’s good. But that’s too rare to give it a better rating.

Bhutani. Is there any new change on the next update ?I am curious to see it

Impressive updates. Say what you will about this or that bug or missing feature but this is clearly one of the most ambitiously supported audio apps. Props to the dev for listening and responding to the users.

Amaizing. Please add a in app 'Refresh/Reboot App' button. I understand fixing all the issues is a big task, but in the mean time Please add this button.

Floating windows?. Best DAW on any mobile platform and it’s not even close. My wish is for some some implementation of floating/resizable windows for instruments and plugins, as present in AUM or Drambo, as being able to do more than one thing at a time would be helpful.

What happened?. I’ve been using Cubase for more than 20 years and Cubasis since it came out. Cubasis 1 was great, Cubasis 2 also good but Cubase 3 has got me working extra hard, trying to get it work with Music Studio, Pure Synth, SynthMaster One and my other apps. I have yet to have success. It works wonderfully with iGrand but what about all the rest? Some of my other apps that were available in the older Cubasis don’t even appear on Cubasis 3’s menu. Why is that? Is it perhaps time for me to move on to something that is more compatible or am I just doing something wrong?

Great Music App!. This app has the best and most comprehensive collection of the most beautiful instruments sounds ever..... my favorite IPad app always....thank you!

I’m too dumb to use most DAWs but this works amazingly well!!!. I’m so insanely happy with this app. I’m a drummer and have always struggled mixing, EQing, snipping, and putting multitrack drum audio playthroughs together. This is the most intuitive and easy to use DAW I’ve ever used. The built in EQ, compression, noisegate and reverb settings sound amazing. I track playthroughs on a cheap, commercially available DAW, render the stems to Dropbox, and then leisurely sit with my iPad to put the playthrough together. App works amazingly well on an iPad mini 5. Thanks Steinberg!

Need Tempo Track. Amazing stability in this release. Cubasis offers workflow which allows you to create rapidly. Auvs' work well and the DSP is under great control. So far I have successfully completed 10 songs which contain audio / midi. I load my projects heavily with plugins like Fab Filter and Mixbox (which is quite heavy) and with an external sound device his release handles easily 20 tracks with 3-4 plugins on each track without using freeze. (Mr Lars) - if you guys develop a tempo track this will end my search for the perfect ios daw. I am certain many musicians feel alike out there. Thank you!

Excelente!. I love how intuitive it is, the interface make everything simple, I wish that in the future we can have a ableton style session view. Or kind of like blocks in reason. But so far I’m happy with everything. Keep with the good work.

Nearly the single best ios app.. very useful tool unreal support with auv3, so far one of my only dislikes is when moving around the scrub of a midi or audio event on the timeline if you drag the event to the edge of the ipad screen it starts scrolling it at 5000% speed and sometimes disorganises the events, and whats frustrating about that if you move the normal marker to edge of the screen it doesnt scroll, just disrupts workflow and im sure im not the only one who would like a feature to have the ability to disable scrolling when stretching events.

Fix the constant crashes!. Unusable in current state. Bugs, crashes, freezes.... very frustrating.

Please continue debug.. Still some problems with audio cut out. Duplicate project does not copy all tracks or audio over to new version of the song. Needs more debugging. I’m using iPad 7th Gen running iOS 15.1

Whoa.... I was waiting for a full DAW to become universal... saw this was available on the iPhone now. Wow. This app is amazing. And sharing projects between iPad and iPhone is so smooth. I get that there are a few bugs in this very early version, but you know they’ll be solved in no time. I’m blown away by how fun, and rock solid stable this has been running multiple AU’s on an iPhone.... whoa...

Cubasis changed my life!. Portable music creation anywhere, no more clunky laptops and daws. Record in my home studio, mix and edit anywhere…

Best. Better than garage band so thanks guys I love this app I’m a live looper and this helps me big time

Overall good app. I like the app it is easy to use. I find the effects and vsts are pretty impressive. I record fairly straight forward rock blues so it works good for me but I wouldn't want to do to much editing on it seeing as it is hard to edit on an iPad. The sound quality is great for vocals and guitars using a ur44 as an interface from a Boss pedal board. The one thing I find really disappointing is that you cannot import/export from Cubase to Cubasis, you can export a project started on Cubasis to Cubase but if your project is created in Cubase you have to export the tracks individually to Cubasis cannot send a project from Cubase to Cubasis. Also this app is far better than Garage Band but personally I like the layout of the drum kit and strings for vsts in GarageBand better than the pads and keys in Cubasis for drums and stringed instruments

great except crashes sometimes i pad pro 4th gen. When I opened it it was so familiar but different than Cubasis2 that it was worth putting out it has a layout that most people with a daw will be able to get around ..... - every now and then it closes the program and sometimes while recording it skips but it’s rare but still needing another take but over all it’s great...I love the Q10 equalizer it punched through my bass and contains the distorted guitar

iPhone version- Amazing. My iPad is being repaired. I used my iPhone and was amazed. Excellent DAW. Well done!

Better now. This app is a dream come through for me and many. A few of my friends are using it live as their main sequencer. I’m using it mainly for composing. I’m using the Ravencroft piano (best piano library, hands down.) I’m also using the Korg Module and Gospel Musician Neo Soul Rhodes app. Amazing combination here. The only thing that I wish I had was better acoustic drums samples. I think the overall sound of Cubasis is mind blowing. The effects are useable. The new update took it to another level. Thanks for making it possible for me to take a full blown studio anywhere I go.

Incredible DAW for mobile. I have been blown away at this mobile version of Cubase. As a Cubase Pro user I was impressed with how much you can accomplish with this ios app. I can lay down ideas on the go and import the project into the full desktop version and continue working. This has been a very convenient tool and does have some worthwhile upgrades (effects).

No cubasis 2 project import?. Wow so much effort to make a comlete “new” cubasis 3 and not even can i load a cubasis 2.8 project to this one? So a lot of times cubase has have always have this function to load “older” cubase files. Then what about my cubasis 2 presets? If you do it from scratch where did all the basic futures we are used to went? Understand us as lifetime cubase users and i have had them all till the cubase 10.5 pro. It’s gone cause me a lot of time moving the cubasis 2.8 songs to cloud and the back to cubasis 3. Why because a lot of time you use part of songs, settings etc.

Worth every penny. First the good: Love the ability to go full screen when mixing and when editing midi. Still need ability to change time signatures but I am being patient and grateful for what I have. There is an odd bug: On one of my projects the metronome will not sound now, even though it is set correctly. It’s only the one project and I can work around it by playing with the drum track, but would love to know why and would love the bug addressed. There are not substantial new features yet, but being able to drag significant features to full screen, especially the mixer is a great start. I feel like investing in the next iteration of this program is going to pay dividends, especially with point modifications that are (hopefully) coming. I am a teacher and church musician with over 200 published songs and I love Steinberg.

Scales Highlight and keyboard shortcuts in piano roll. Hi Lars, Got my iPad just for this app but as much as I love Cubasis on my iPad the scale highlighting feature that isn’t available in the piano roll is a big feature for me that I find myself going back to fl studio on my PC just for it. I love Cubasis so much and if this is included, I’ll be able to make the full switch, this and the ability to use the keyboard shortcuts in the piano just to make creating in the piano roll much faster would be much appreciated as well. 5stars for this amazing app either ways.

I REAAAALLLTY want to use and love it.... But. This DAW does not seem to be sample accurate... When I zoom in or out (pinch, spread) the audio clips appear to move around in the time line!? I don’t think it’s cosmetic either as my music just sounds... off when I make it in Cubasis. It does in fact sound like things are off a few sample ticks from each other. The other major complaint I have is the time stretching algorithm does not seem accurate. I have to play with the time stretching controls multiple times before it seems to fit the project, and even then I am left wondering due to the first problem of timeline inaccuracy. It leaves the experience feeling very frustrating, and causes me to not want to invest much time as I am not confident my results will be usable. I have contacted support multiple times, sent multiple emails... and the best I got was “I’ll escalate to an senior engineer and they will contact you” Which to date has not happened. I spent good money on this app, only to be severely disappointed and left hanging in the cold. Good luck if you choose this app for anything related to sample manipulation...

Excellent!. I love this app. The interface is easy to understand even though there are so many things going on. It’s fast powerful. I love it. There is one feature that will make it five stars for me. I use a lot of samples and audio tracks. I can import them but they are on my computer organized in folders and sub folders. If I could import them as folders, it would be amazing! Now, I imported the sounds I need and organize them then do the next folder. It’s slow. I look forward to any and all future improvements!

Mobile money maker!. I am very satisfied, and grateful for the time put into creation and updates! Although, there are plenty of additions we as producers could use such as time shifting; this program is sufficient for preproduction. Perfect for making music on the go, and in a tight situation. We could use more mouse compatibility within the DAW if possible. Over all you get 5 stars because I’ve made so much money using this app!

How is this possible???. This would be a 5 star app. But as a retired audio engineer I am baffled by the inability toDo punches. This is a bread and butter feature of a MultiTrack interface that dates back to the years of reel to reel audio, and is an essential process in any recording session. Of course on forums there some suggested workarounds. But they are clumsy and problematic- introducing other issues and defeating the simplicity of the simple punch in function. I really don’t understand how an app can be so good and so complete lack this functionality. How could you guys possibly have left this out???

I bought this twice. There is so much wrong with this purchase. I already own Cubasis 2 but I bought Cubasis 3 thinking It would be a good upgrade. The same issues I had in Cubasis 2 they still exist in Cubasis 3. editing midi or audio is frustrating, there is no duplicate no selection for all and you have to do these weird touches to move things around. I want to love this app but I can’t until they fix this issues.

So close to being the best DAW for iPadOS. Legit software/app, but there’s still some refining. When it comes to customizing the pads, its limited to the bank in the app, it doesn’t allow you to completely erase a sound on a pad, and it doesn’t allow any drag and drop from the Files folder in the iPad, which really hampers the creative flow. Really need this freedom of customizing cuz the midi hardware I use (mpk mini 3) won’t efficiently assign the sounds to the pads, and the layout/flow of the sounds is clunky/abnormal. Please please fix this. Other than that, so far I have to say its worth the money. Almost. This flaw was a definite bummer 😓

Not a full Minisampler..... So I just purchased Cubasis 3 and was loving it until I went to try to sample something with the built in minisampler. I never owned any other versions of cubasis but have seen a tutorial on how to make a sample in ver. 2 of cubasis so I was sure that since that is one of the most crucial parts of what’s full fledged DAW should be that there would be the sam in the new Cubasis 3. Wrong. No way to select or edite a file to sample. Under help it says that it comes with factory presets or you can import .cbi files of samples made in Cubasis 2 minisampler. Very big disappointment @ $50. I hope this will be fixed! I really love the rest of C3 but a sample is crucial. 5 star product for sure if it is added. Also please add Apple pen support and 2 and 3 finger press for quick undo/redo commands.

Great mobile DAW. Overall a great DAW for the Ipad. I love this app and use it daily. Only a few minor complaints keep it from five stars like no dedicated stop button and no ability to "cut" and paste, instead you have to copy, erase, then paste. Also I wish it had a "select all" function for copying and pasting. Nonetheless these are minor and don't take away from my enjoyment using this app. I love it and recommend it highly for mobile production and recording.

Great DAW - Riddled with Crashes. Probably the best DAW that I’ve ever used. It’s amazing to have it on something as sleek as a tablet. Sadly, it CONSTANTLY crashes. You guys seriously need to figure it out, or I’ll need to find an alternative. I can’t stand it, and it really puts a damper on the workflow. Response to Developer: No. It’s not my job to sit here and log crash data for you. It crashes constantly on brand new iPad Pro 2020 hardware. It’s unacceptable as it is. Don’t put the work on the customer.

Finally!. Cubasis 3.3.1 has finally given us what should have been there when v3 was released. Midi Learn is also a great addition along with all other new features in this release. It would have been great to have Paste updated to allow multiple copies pasted instead of still having to keep tapping the paste button 120 times. This was requested/suggested since before v2, still waiting. 😞

I loved this app until the latest update.. The performance in the latest update has tanked. I used to be able to push this app to its absolute limit, running several instances of the same AUv3 plugins at once, without having to freeze a single one, but as of the latest update, even something as simple as a time stretched sample with maybe one Inter-app plugin goes so incredibly slowly. Any of my previous tracks that used AU plugins are completely broken now, and sound like a distorted catastrophe. I’m pretty disappointed. I don’t know if this is a result of the latest iOS update or what, but my productivity has basically come to a standstill as a result of the latest update. This used to be a 5 star app for me.

Potential but unnecessary new learning curve. New learning curve because of changes like scrolling in piano roll . Its moving things in a different direction than i expect it would go. Where i used to scroll with two finger in 2.8, now the directions are the opposite down is up , up is down but left and right work correctly. It would be actually better, if side to side were also the opposite like they changed the up and down functions. I have to be careful when expanded and i want to hit undo, or erase for example, i do it accidentally because now i have another set of same controls for piano roll and find myself hitting the background undo or erase, which is an inch away on my screen. So then instead of the selected part disappearing, the whole track disappeared. I am just starting to use this so i know eventually ill get used to it but its very annoying. Update: a few mores hours with this and more problems like midi instruments feedback and just not much improvement in overall performance. It seems like this version is just not ready yet. So i already requested a refund. Its that bad.

Would return product if I could. Hugely disappointed with this purchase - I would absolutely return for a refund if I could. I bought this app as an ‘upgrade’ for GarageBand; to record songs, which heavily feature guitar, bass, vocals, keys (i.e., not midi-instruments or loops - not that there is anything wrong with that at all, it’s just not the kind of music I make). The app, which costs 50 dollars, actually has fewer features than the free GarageBand app. For example the amp sims only feature two knobs (e.g., volume and treble), and sound TERRIBLE. Like unusable bad. Whoever designed these was likely not a guitar/bass player. I thought I could get around this by purchasing a separate app to use as an amp simulator (in my case AmpliTube), only to find out that this will only work on one track in my song. The software will not allow you to use cross-app plugins for more than one track. Very few of my songs only have one guitar track, so this is basically unusable to me. Really disappointed with this app.

Finally, Universal. Thanks for an excellent update and also for allowing transfer of purchases. I look forward to future improvements, including scrub audio. I would like to have easier pasting of outside audio files that go directly from the clipboard. Or am I missing something? Anyway, keep it rocking! Update: I can’t open Cubasis 3 files in Cubasis LE Elements 10 on my computer. Please advise. By the way, still a 5 star app. I know things will improve. I don’t change ratings because of incomplete features.

Dream machine. I started doing music in the tape era and you were lucky to get four tracks. Cubasis allows me to write, record, mix and master! It does everything I need it to do and I can easily exceed the limitations of days gone with 40+ tracks and effects. But that’s not all, I can upload the song into Cubase for even more power! Get this today!

Wow!. I had been using GarageBand for quite some time, but I needed more editing software for my genre of music (metal, hard rock), so I did a ton of research on which DAW would suit my needs and I finally decided on Cubasis 3, it has SOOO much editing tools and great built in instruments, it honestly makes my songs sound professional. Also, EQ-ing electric guitars is such a breeze with there Waves 10Q. I LOVE this app and I thank the devs for such incredible software.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Edit: Hey, I still love this app, but I’m having a problem with it crashing one of my guitar plugins (rhino). I’ll just be mixing a song and then the plugin quits on me and I have to delete the track then remake it. I’ve tried lowering the latency and stuff like that, but it still crashes, I don’t know if it’s Cubasis’s problem or rhino’s. If y’all can help me fix this, it would be appreciated. Keep up the good work, hope to see a Cubasis 4 in the future.👍👍💕

Love it!. I’m doing another review.

Transport/status bar conflict. Y’all gotta fix the transport/play button and status bar conflict because it’s nearly impossible to play and stop without it thinking that you’re trying to close or minimize the window. This is an absurd conflict and makes the app nearly unusable. $50 for an app that I can’t press play and stop on consistently is nuts. Update regarding developer response: No, hiding the status bar makes it worse. This issue is with the status bar not hidden. You can fix it by making the too section off the window configurable so the transport can be moved out of the way…

As much potential as there are bugs. I am glad I bought this app because there are some amazing improvements over C2. More That said, it is not fully baked. It needs some love to fix UI bugs. 1. Dragging clips seems to reset the L & R repeat markers. 2. When you delete presets, they don’t disappear until you restart the app. 3. There are quantification issues with the metronome. This seems to carry over from C2. 4. Importing projects from C2 does so without the actual audio clips, just place holders. 4a. You cannot copy/paste audio clips from C2 to C3. 5. C3 runs higher CPU usage than C2. I added the same tracks with the same insert effects on each track and ran into significant CPU overage causing significant crackling. I am running on an iPad Pro 12.9 latest series. This completely overrides the value of adding more insert effect slots. I’m sure there are more annoyances to be found, but I will wait until there are significant bug fixes to start moving forward with the migration from C2 to C3. I do look forward to a more stable version though!

Like Baby Logic on iPhone. Honestly, this app is really awesome! I don't have a laptop right now and I missed using Logic Pro, so I finally decided to try this app out and it is amazing. I'm glad this app exists and brings advanced features to mobile. I'm loving the results. I would like to change pitch on audio files more than one octave though... but that's a small request.

Unusable. First of all. I’m using all updated software and the maximum amount of memory on the latest phone. I don’t even know where to start. Pan left right used to only work when it was connected to AUM. Now it doesn’t work at all in AUM. If it doesn’t crash when I load a previous project it loads it at either the wrong speed or at a reduced bit rate or something, I can’t tell because the audio is so bad. Those are only a few things that go wrong CONSISTENTLY. I should absolutely not have to worry about these things when I’m paying that amount of money for an app. I don’t even understand how this is out.

Using to record acoustic drums & midi keys. I’m new to recording. I bought Cubasis 2 about 3 months ago, then I bought Cubasis 3 when it was released. I haven’t had any issues with stability, and all the functions I’ve used so far have worked just fine. I like the Waves plugins and the other internal effects for EQ on a 7 piece drum set with plenty of cymbals and only 4 Shure mics. I’m using the DAW to record and arrange midi synths and keys too with an Irig Keys I/O, no issues I’ve noticed so far. Please add Apple Pencil support! I’m writing this because I’ve noticed that Steinberg has been monitoring user reviews on the App Store, and I hope Apple Pencil support comes soon.

Great DAW!. Really well designed. I can write an engineer full songs on the go. I do think the platform really needs some sort of audio slicing capabilities, as well as the ability to quantize audio (and not just MIDI). Having to do slicing outside of the platform and then import it in is a bit crazy to do. Please, really consider this feature request!! Otherwise very happy with Cubasis. Good job Steinberg.

Almost great. Update: It is essential for Cubasis to have a update for sidechaining to seriously become the motherboard of music production on IOS. Otherwise a project can not be completely mixed and mastered in this Daw. Yes I know I can use external apps for sidechaining but we need to be able to sidechain with Fabfilter plugins which allow us highly tweakable sidechain options, it is the standard in the music industry. Let’s make IOS the new standard!

Needs More. First off, this is arguably the best DAW available. For most of the overall review ...see Cubasis 2 reviews. Now to the nit picking. Outside of the iPhone compatibility there is no fair reason C2 users have to pay $50 for this latest version/upgrade. The fifty didn’t buy is side chaining with third party apps they provide it. (I foolishly assumed that was part of the reason for a new C3.) And....most of all....you guys really need a sexier interface. If I pay all that money for the New, I don’t want it to look and feel like I’m on the old one.

Apple Pencil 2 doesn’t work. Edit- a month later and no updates, not even a small hot fix... just the same old canned corporate responses about how hard their poor little team worked on this completely broken unusable app. I can’t use this for 5 minutes without a crash or it changing the sample rate for no reason or just freaking out and making midi tracks emit an ear piercing shriek. And if you want to use AirPods you have to remember to go into settings and push a button. Every. Freaking. Time. 🙄 And I still can’t use my Pencil. Lowering to 1 star. ... Pencil doesn’t work- Their response is that everyone is on holiday break and they can’t confirm whether it’s a bug or if support was removed on purpose. Apparently Apple Pencil was supported in v 2. There are a lot of other bugs and glitches but I’m sure they’ll be addressed. But if the lack of Pencil support was intentional then it’s unfortunately a deal breaker for me. If Apple Pencil is important to you I’d wait until they confirm before buying.

5 Stars. Honestly, I’m surprised the rating aren’t higher. Where else are you going to find a fully functioning DAW that supports third party pluggins where you can mix and master on an ipad? I haven’t been able to find one that rivals Cubasis 3. And yes, while it would be nice to run a full desktop DAW such as Ableton given the power of the M1 chip, this is the closest we’re going to get for now.

So much potential. I’m disappointed that this software still has no trackpad support. This makes using the app extremely cumbersome. I also think we need the ability to use a physical typing keyboard as a virtual midi keyboard. This app has so much potential but it is seriously lacking in some basic usability fields. Reply to developer: I apologize I should have been more specific. I am refereeing mainly to trackpad scrolling. You have to click and drag rather than just scroll

Almost. I am having difficulty with the markers being so small that I cannot drag them easily. Am I missing something? It would be great to be able to long press and them and type in the location. Also, when I drag them they should should just keep going from screen to screen but it only lets me drag it to the visible screen and then stops and I have to drag it screen by screen to get to the location and sometimes I’m dragging a bunch of stuff with the marker and I have to start over.

It’s great!. I understand 3 got off to a rough start this year but after being disappointed in some way by EVERY OTHER IOS DAW I decided to give CB3 a shot. Glad I did! After spending some quiet time exploring the app and building a few simple songs I transferred everything I was doing on another DAW to CB3 and got to work. The key was to spend some thoughtful time learning about the app before diving in. I think too many people do not take this step and dive in with both feet, meet some roadblocks (of their own making usually) and give up, moving on to the next shiny toy. Sure, it needs some tweaks but the basic app is solid and worthy of the term iOS DAW. I’ve found what I’ve been looking for! PS - there are reviews here by people who inhabit the Audiobus forum and use CB3 as their primary DAW. Check out their music. It’s awesome. These guys are real pros!

Almost. I am giving another star because I appreciate the dev team actually taking time to acknowledge what is going on. I also will move the other discussion to the support forum instead of the product review. That was my bad. You not getting the last star until you give me a way to open the program without it trying to open the last thing I did. That’s just crazy. Not a workaround either. Open the program then let me choose what I want to do.

Seemingly Massively Improved. I was one of the early adopters and supporters of this version of Cubasis back when it wasn't quite what it had the potential to be, and then went into the desktop DAW world to be more "professional" lol. So happy to put some attention back into this the past two months and find that it has become very stable and mature. This is my favorite app for sitting down with actual sheet music and transcribing it into the piano roll. My only request at this point is if they could get Waves to do an L2 iap too.

Fantastic!. I really like all of the improvements over Cubasis 2. This is certainly a refined piece of software and well worth paying for again. The only reason I took away one star was because Cubasis 3 doesn’t record midi from the built-in Roli Noise app seaboard iPad keyboard anymore. You have to use the Cubasis built-in keyboard to make a midi track with the Noise app. Strangely, this all worked fine in Cubasis 2. Hopefully there’s a workaround?

THE BEST MOBILE DAW HANDS DOWN👏🏾. I had Cubasis when it first came out for ipad and it was great then…The layout looks just like its big brother Cubase and it functions like it as well. From creating music to mixing its Unbelievable what you can do with your phone these days! This is the most professional music recording app youre going to find and updates get better and better. Thank u Devs!👏🏾👏🏾

Best DAW for iPad. It is very much functional for multi tracking and I prefer it to GarageBand. Bluetooth transport control is awesome and so is Bluetooth keyboard support. You only need to wire the audio interface. Editing can be tedious at times, but the touch interface is more of a limitation than design when compared to keyboard/mouse interfaces. Feeding GB drummer on a track would make this a killer setup!

Love it but.... Only 4 stars because there's some keyboard bugs with zooming in vertically or horizontally. Big part of an editing workflow. Thankfully its touch optimized so that works but the keyboard shorcuts need review and I suspect it may be related to Stage manager being active. I hop eyou optimize for stage manager. Would have left this in the developer support function but that just gave me a redirect to a forum. I didnt need a froum of community votes on a feature, I needed to report a bug in current features and there's no easy way to do that. Still LOVE this app because its the closest thing to a desktop class DAW on iPad.

I keep updating my review: this really is excellent!. This replaces my earlier review where I was a little harsh... While there are a few things that drive me nuts, it is a wonderful touch screen DAW, and I really love working with it! I love the layout and the intuitiveness of it. I really like how you can edit notes on the piano roll with your left hand choosing what parameter you are editing (position or length) and your right hand selecting notes. I like that you include keyboard shortcuts (unlike Auria). I love the whole left sections thing. Still missing: 1) tempo/meter mapping 2) mono track freeze 3) moveable transient split markers 4) an easy workflow to comp vocal track takes 5) some sort of video sync option 6) transport markers Aside from those 6 missing features, it is close to perfect!

Missing Keys features. There is no sampler, you can’t add your own drums, editing midi is a nightmare compared to BeatMaker 3. No Duplicate options for midi when editing the notes. Adding my own sounds is just painful in this app. Did I mention it crashes quite often? For $50 this was done with half the effort. The developers claim updates were free so they want to charge at a premium now, but the updates from previous versions was pretty minimal. AVOID this app at this moment Cubasis 2 is superior! I’m pretty disappointed I spent the kind of money I spent on this app. It’s pretty much only good for live music, not for beat makers, not for music producers, not for creators. This is simply only good for live rig recording IMO. I do not recommend this app and I’ve tried to use as my primary daw since it was released. Going back to BeatMaker 3 lol.

Logic is sleeping on Cubasis 3. I could tell the moment I opened this app for the first time, and went on to open the settings that this app is remarkable. I’m super thankful. I’ve been a reluctant Logic snob for some time because it’s what I’m most comfortable with, and it packs so much value. Since this jokePad Pro does not have Logic, I finally took the plunge on this, which compared to Logic at $200 is not really a plunge at all. I’m super freaking stoked. This is a desktop-class app. You’re killing it, and I am ever so thankful! Happy to have Cubasis 3!!

Eh not impressed tbh. The app is great it might not have direct relation to the Cubasis 2 but it’s still the same app and there’s some things I’d like to see back... like when i record audio in the same track i want to be able to see every part of everything even when another is overlapped onto it another thing is it needs to be a hell of a lot smoother overall there’s lot of little bugs that make me rather want to use 2 instead of 3 and why can’t we record at 32bit 96k yet 24 just isn’t enough and why does the sample rate change from what i have plugged in i want complete control like seriously don’t even give me the option to change the sample rate if i can’t that’s stupid

Great. I’ve been using Cubase for over 10 years. I thought it would be worth trying to record on an iPad in my free time, and I’m very happy with Cubasis 3. The app runs smoothly, has great editing features, good-sounding plugins, and solid VST instruments. I got a small interface that works well with my iPad and this app. Overall, this is way more than I expected and I’m very happy with this app.

Problem Solved. When I attempt to startup Cubasis 3 on my iPad Pro it locks up on my last session. Could be due to attempting to load fx, I don’t really know because I don’t have time to troubleshoot the app for Steinberg. I’d really just like my money back. Edit: after receiving advice from the apps team I was finally able to load Cubasis 3 by setting the ‘load new project at startup’ in the iPad Pro settings for Cubasis 3. I still wish it worked as flawlessly as AUM, but, I’m now satisfied that I didn’t throw away good money on this app.

Finally ,…An Efficient and Effective Daw. I have to admit the first Song I recorded on Here, even with limited understanding of every nook and cranny, ….came out sounding light years ahead of all the other IOS recorders I’ve been using,….and it opens the doors up to using all my synths and other musical apps together with ease. Great Thanks to all those responsible for developing this Pro-level technology. I’ve been switching back and forth from one recording app to another , because they all give a distinct different sound,….but this,….this is the Mothership.

The truth is, it’s not ready for release. This program works very, very poorly. It crashes more than once per session. All kinds of glitches and weird behaviors result in hours of lost work. When I rename my frozen clips of audio to stay organized, it suddenly reverts to previous audio clips I had deleted after bouncing. When I batch imported a folder of samples from AudioShare and wanted to delete or move some samples it was a nightmare. It’s not working right, it shouldn’t have been released. What I’d like, if it’s possible, is a copy of Cubase 2 to use until this app is finished. I can see that if it was working properly it would be quite good.

Can’t record audio. I have had this app for over a year. Still just trying to get it to simply record. It seems there are way too many bells and whistles and not just basic recording tools. I can change colors but not record. The UI is not intuitive at all. Couldn’t find any help either. Digital performer works better but no iOS version. I would like to make music rather than trying to troubleshoot software. I really hate posting like this but this app has been an absolute nightmare. I watched ALL of the tutorial videos. Still doesn’t work. I even consulted a friend who used the desktop version of Cubase for many years and he couldn’t get it working either. Grrr.
