Sweet story. You figure out early on why the old man is on this journey, but you learn along the way of all the choices he made in life, that left him sad and lonely in old age. It’s a cute game, however it wasn’t all that challenging and not long enough to experience much. I would’ve liked to see more interactive objects, people, etc. I would’ve also enjoyed being able to choose multiple paths and cross different terrains... for a true journey experience.

LOVE. I love this “game”. I wanted something fairly easy to play when I was just trying to take a break from everyday worry. Not too easy and mindless like candy crush though. I wanted something that uses your brain a bit, but not really difficult. This was perfect! I LOVE how beautiful it is and the awesome story that goes with it. One of my all time fav games. LOVE THE ENDING. Thank you!

This game is hard!. This game is so hard! I paid for it and I thought it seemed good and fun, but after I got past the first THREE levels I realized how frustrated it was making me. I am so sorry, this game just makes me frustrated and I would appreciate it if you added hints so I can use some help on the parts I don’t know. But other than that, this game is astonishing in every way. The use of colors, the story, the adventure, the puzzles... all incredible! Thank you for this game.

Eyegasm. Playing on my iPad with the brightness maxed just put a grin on my ugly mug the whole time I played. I truly enjoyed this, it is part game, part story, and part gorgeous colorful art all of which kept me engaged. I hope to see more chapters added, thank you for such a different relaxing experience. Fantastic job on the visuals, it just sucked me in like a canvas come to life. So original and a true work of art with warmth.

Inspiring and heart-touching!. I really loved the story line. From the beginning until the end I enjoyed every single moments. Excellent job to the developers!! Looking forward to more games from you guys! If you don’t mind, may I have your permission to write a story about this game? I will give credit to you developers who worked so hard to invent such a wonderful game. Thank you so much!! ❤️👍🏼

Really enjoyed it. This game was not only beautiful to look at, calming to play, and unique in its gameplay, but also had a really nice soundtrack and a story that really got me into the game. I really got attached to the characters! It was just really pleasant and makes you think about life. I just finished playing it for the second time :)

Beautiful, entrancing and poignant. This is a lovely game that provides just enough context to get going and which then unfurls itself with an increasing but never alarming sequence of puzzles—almost riddles—to solve. And, while doing so, the backstory of the old man is slowly revealed, elevating the experience beyond the simple pleasure of the game play itself. This game has an aesthetic and a certain psychological stance that it establishes and maintains throughout. This is definitely a game that I want to tell others about and tell them to play.

A touching interactive experience. More than anything else, this is a story. There are game-like elements related to controlling the old man’s navigation as he winds his way along a memory-laden path, and those elements are quite novel. They are not explained in-game, nor are they particularly difficult, so if you are looking for a challenge, or for the game-aspect to make in-game sense, this is the wrong app for you. But taken as a fun diversion while exploring the old man’s memories, the resulting experience is quite touching. It only takes about an hour to complete the game, but I am happy to have played it.

Antidote to the common screen time. Come and get lost in a storybook where the lush landscape moves just enough to let you progress from puzzle to puzzle, traversing meadows, mountains, a bay, even the sky. This game is beautiful in its own right, but the beauty for me and my children right now was the peace of the gameplay. The music, the images, the story, the game play that is manageable for my 5-year-old, intriguing for my 9-year-old, and challenging enough that I had to slow down and think and try different approaches here and there. Most of all - no buttons, no prompts, no counters of achievements in the corners, no reminders to come back or the old man would suffer, just hills and waves and the occasional sheep. And how many games can you play on your iPad that almost bring you to tears? I’m sure my boys don’t understand the emotional weight of the story, but they are enjoying every step of the journey anyway.

Great game until .... This is a lovely game — beautiful graphics and soundtrack — with an emotional story that’s told so well without any dialogue. The puzzles make you think outside the box and challenge you to reimagine the journey. My only issue is that the game gets stuck for me and I don’t know if this is a bug or an issue with what I’m doing. I get to a scene where the Old Man climbs into a truck, and after a series of puzzles to get the truck rolling, the screen turns into a cut scene of him traveling on the truck and just stays there. No more advancement, no more puzzles or interaction, just the old man in a yellow truck traveling down the road. This is disappointing because I’d love to see how this story ends!

Updated review below - fantastic support. Last week, I gave this two stars because the game was stuck on the splash animation on my iPad Pro (I was still able to play on iPhone). Within a few days I heard from Felix who shortly after sent me an updated version via TestFlight, and it works perfectly. Great customer support!

A beautiful game. On par with the game Brothers, it tells an old man’s story with no dialogue or tutorial. I almost quit playing because the first couple minutes didn’t hook me in, but I was so glad I gave it another chance. This is a game that would definitely appeal to an older (30+) fanbase. Younger gamers might not like the slow pace that emphasizes plot and scenery.

Totally annoying. This game is a complete disappointment and very frustrating! There are no instructions and basically, as far as I can determine, all you do is direct the travels of an old character across the screen by raising and lowering landscape components with your finger. Problem is, the programming is poor and the character does not typically go where you touch on the screen, often times in a completely different area of the screen and the manipulation of the landscape (you have to get areas to intersect so he can walk across them) is very erratic. Some of the art work is pleasant, but all you do is view it. You do not interact with it in any meaningful way. To top it off, you don't even know why he is walking wherever he is walking!!! This is not a game. It is a frustration and I am not sure if there is anyone I would recommend it to. To be honest, I got so bored with it I eventually deleted it and never finished it.

Extremely boring “gameplay”. I’ve had this game on my wishlist forever. Let’s just say I’m glad I bought it on sale for $.99 and not at the full $4.99 price. I found myself really bored throughout the entire game but I had spent money so I was committed, hoping the gameplay would become more of a challenge at one point or another.... I wouldn’t even call it a “game”. It’s really just a full-on STORY that you kind of walk through. But you aren’t really interacting with the story at all. He’s just hiking. That’s it, he’s just taking a nice little stroll through the hills thinking of his life. Literally y’all, that’s it. The graphics are INCREDIBLE and stunning which is the only reason I even gave it 2 stars but you just drag the ground to make him hop from one area to another. Sometimes you have to move some sheep out of the way, that’s about the extent of the challenge. Maybe this is a real life story game and this is a tribute to a father or grandfather or something??? I’m not sure but either way, hindsight, if I would have known, I would have skipped this one. Sorry 😬 it had so much potential...I think.

Old Man’s Journey. Definitely 100% worth the price. I am currently about to cry! This game was beautifully made. The music really brings out the emotions of the game and the design is purely flawless. I will definitely be replaying this game and showing it to my friends and family. I definitely recommend purchasing and playing this game!! Some people say it’s boring, but I love it. It just depends on your preference.

Very touching story. Love this game. The old man loves his family that he would like to take this very long journey up and down just to see his sick wife the last time eventhough they had been apart for many years. He lived by himself and now he is with his daughter and grand daughter live happily ever after. More of this kind of games, please.

A nice adventure.. This game is a nice adventure. The scenes are wonderful. It plays out the life of an old man, who was a French sailor. The puzzles are intriguing. Overall it's a good experience but it could be longer. The game doesn't last very long. There are not many levels. The environment is wonderful, like you are in a scenic painting but the view is not worth the $4.99. I hope there is a sequel with more new levels or else buyers remorse will eventually set in. Oh, by the way, here's a spoiler. You'll love the end of the old man's journey. Here's a clue as to what the subject matter is: 💀 Overall it's a fun but short ride.

Touching. This is a beautiful, heart string pulling Indie game. It is full of beautiful graphics and content which has been given much thought. The developer has created a interactive design and a man whose life appeared to start, as all of ours do yet, as real life goes we never get to choose how things work out. My best advice is that you must be a person who has patience, depth in your heart and the ability to empathize when playing this game.

Wow!. Rarely have I found such beautiful graphics with a storyline woven throughout clever puzzles and challenging gameplay. The music and animations combined with gorgeous interactive environments made this game a joy to play! I completed it over three months - it was like returning to an immersive novel and slowly unfolding the story as I had time to relax and engage with this old man to see where he was going. Can’t wait for more from this developer! Well done.

Absolutely Stunning. Great story, great puzzles, and great aesthetic. The game’s pleasing graphics only add to this great game. A story about loss and regret that not only is realistic, but sad in a way that is oddly pleasing and sympathetic. An old man who got divorced and has to live on his own, adventuring the world. The puzzles seem to focus mainly on showcasing game aspects such as hot-air balloon riding and falling through waterfalls. I wish there was a second game that not only tells a completely new story, but doesn’t just showcase game mechanics. The game also felt kind of short. If there were to be a second game, making it longer and still keeping all of the previously listed things all of the way through would turn this review into a five star.

Beautiful but boring. I was disappointed – then again, I’ve been spoiled by Monument Valley. The illustrations in this game are nice but the rest of it doesn’t deliver. The game play is not well designed. While the basic action of moving the landscape in order to move through it is nice, but the rest of the actions you can take in the “world” of this game are somewhat random. That makes the effort to reward ratio too high, esp since the motivation and aims are unclear. Worst of all, the music is dopey

Wonderful, artistic and heart warming.. I was a game player but for long time I have stopped playing video games because they all have more or less the same style. I downloaded Old Man’s Journey out of curiosity, because as an artist I was interested in the graphic and design. Yes, it’s not the most complicated game ever and if you are looking for something very challenging perhaps this will not be so exciting... but it is a wonder low stress game, that allows you to immerse yourself in a wonderful natural world, full of wonderful sounds and colors. It will warm your heart because the purpose of this game is not survival, but something very unusual and new. It’s worth trying.

A beautiful experience.. This is not a very challenging “game” as some reviews seem to harp on. What it is though, is a beautiful story, with clever visuals, and thoughtful user interactions, that combine to create an experience. If you’re not all cold and dead inside, it’s a nice way to spend some time without buying gems or coins. I’d pay $4.99 for a sequel in a split second. Thank you very much to the developers and everyone involved in making this happen. I really appreciate it.

Boomer Speed. This is a great game for my age group, Old. The graphics are beautiful; encouraging a person to walk, ride slowly through the wonderful landscapes. There are some challenges, but not the kind that require pushing lots of buttons at great speed. It is a thoughtful journey. I’m pretty sure that for those who enjoy this game the only criticism, is “We want more.” Thanks for this gift.

Sweet story. This “game” provided a very sweet and heart wrenching story that I believe will compel most players to play on. However, the game play somehow feels incomplete. Unlike the richly developed story, I could not help but feel the game aspect was lacking. I felt like the developers were onto something with the design of the game, but the obstacles just felt contrived so as to call it a “game”. At the risk of sounding redundant, It seem like the developers had all the materials to make an interesting game, but in the end - it felt like they could have done much more to make it more compelling.

Pixar In Your Pocket. Will be recommending to others. ⛵️Masterpiece story telling without a word said. Breathtaking detail and music moving you through the tale of an old soul driven on the path by a mysterious letter. It's the little things in life... and they move the hero through his journey and his memories. A story told through light terrain based puzzles. May have to downshift if you're looking for deep focus or concentration. Small on a iPhone 5 screen. Each chapter sets a tone and fleshes out the character and story as you go, building up to an emotional finale. Exquisite care was taken in making this. Spend the $5. Didn't know phone games could do this. Thank you for making this!

Beautiful but overpriced. This game tells a story in such a visually compelling way, the puzzles were just complicated enough with whimsicle touches, but this was definitely not worth the pricetag of $3.99. There weren't enough levels and just not quite enough...it didn't quite leave you wanting more, but it left you feeling unfulfilled. To make the game worth the price, it should come with either some more unique levels or a bonus exploration round where you can just walk around tapping on things. Otherwise, the game is worth maybe $1.99.

I’m stuck, and I’m annoyed. This game is artistically beautiful, but man is it glitchy. I’m playing on my iPad Pro, and on almost every screen I have to battle with the moving the landscape. A lot of the time the landscape will just bounce (but not move)- that will happen over and over no matter how I try to make the hills move up or down. Then all of a sudden I’ll be able to slide the landscape to where I want it. I’m currently stuck on a waterfall puzzle (just after the hot air balloon), and I’ve tried to move every inch of the landscape, but nothing moves to a position that will allow him to move from the ledge he’s on. I’m talking EVERY. SINGLE. INCH. There is no way for me to proceed. It’s not fun, it’s frustrating.

Gorgeous, calming gameplay. Very unlike games like candy crush or other obnoxious noisy games. The animation is like watercolor and very gorgeous. The soundtrack is also very calming and the gameplay is like logic. There were also times during the gameplay where I felt like crying because it was so beautifully told. A very mature and beautiful game. Looking for more from the developer.

Underwhelming. I’m afraid to go back and see if I actually paid $4.99 for this “game”. I was fooled by the 5 star reviews it received and purchased it without reading too much into it. Big mistake. This is a poor excuse for a puzzle game. If anything, it is a linear walking simulator. You click where you want the old man to walk super slowly and have to move the landscape around to progress further. I guess that’s the “puzzle” part but I would hardly call that a puzzle because it isn’t challenging at all. I had a harder time trying to figure out where the pause button was in the game. The story tries to be over emotional but with no dialogue and tedious gameplay it failed to make me care. One thing is the visuals are pretty and colorful but if it didn’t have that then, well, it would be worth 0 stars.

No clue. I have no clue what to do. This game is also so boring. All it has on it is some old man walking around the place. Who would want that? It also cost so much. I wasted my money on this app. I expected more from this app. I thought it would be more than some old old man. However I hope this app gets a little more interesting. How is this supposed to be fun? Can you update this app? I want it to be a little more fun. Maybe I would like it then. I don’t know how watching or moving stuff for the old man is supposed to entertain. This was supposed to be fun. It was such a waste. I do not recommend this app to anyone. This app should be free. Thank you. Now I kinda know what to do a little more. I will try the game again.

Good but.... This game needs a little more to it. For starters this game is really short. There are only 15 levels and there is no pause button. The gameplay is super easy and even though it gets a little more difficult it still isn’t much of a challenge. The music and animation is nice but the story is lacking. I do like how the environment is effected by what is going on in the story. The landscape is pretty too. Honestly I think this game needs more to it.

Beautiful. I recently lost my mother due to sepsis and this game was one of the very few that could relate to the feelings of losing someone. the puzzles were amazing and i loved the art style even though it was frustrating at times it was worth it. I definitely will buy any other games you make if you decide to make more. This game touched a part of my heart thats been empty for a while and made me feel like someone understands thank you!

Awesome game! You should definitely get it!. Old Man’s Journey is a wonderful story, with meaningful emotions. This game is like a fun puzzle! Sometimes the old man will give you sad flashbacks- there kind of sad sometimes! you can travel through different places, and not to mention- the animation is top notch! No problems with the game! A game normally like this, would have problems like loading or something like that. But this game has no problem! If I could, I would give this game an award! This game is an exciting journey, and amazing animation! This game is truly amazing! Please download today!

Lovely storytelling & Beautiful art. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. A lovely story told slowly through simple game mechanics that don’t punish trial and error. Beautiful artwork, great music & sound. I played this through to the end in short 10-20 minute sittings. The game makes it easy to pick up wherever you stopped. I really enjoyed the experience and recommend it heartily.

Glitch/bug. Hello! I love the game but I came across a bit of a bug in the game, the bug didn’t let the old man move even when I pressed my screen in possible areas the old man should’ve been able to move to and I could also move the same hill old man was on and the level it happened in was at the level when the old man gets out of the balloon.. so I closed and reopened the app and old man was moving again but it really bothered me since it took awhile to get pass some of the waterfalls. But either way I still enjoy the game!

Great game to slow down with. In this fast paced world of hyper video games filled with violence and/or silly themes, this game was a pleasure to play. The pace was an unexpected surprise and welcomed. I enjoyed the hand drawn art which just made the game all the more pleasurable, know that so much care and heart went into the creation of it. I recommend it if you’re looking for a break from the norm.

Relaxed, enjoyed every second. To enjoy the game you have to calm down, relax, and just enjoy the scenery and experience. The game's not about figuring out tough puzzles, which is why the puzzles are pretty easy. It's all about the journey, and the story. If you get it expecting it to be a hard puzzle game or a fast paced game, you will be let down. If you just appreciate it for its beautiful music, story, and scenery, you will have a fantastic experience like I did. It's not boring at all. Anyways, the graphics are probably the best part of the game, each area's art is so impressive. Definitely get the game, just know that you're not getting a hard puzzle game :)

The most original and amazing game. I admittedly have only played a small amount of this game so far, but the Art, music, gameplay are all so perfect and beautiful. Kudos to those who made this game! Well worth the 99 cents. I would gladly have paid much much more for this level of quality. Thank you to the person/folks who created this. It’s obvious that this game had a lot of passion behind it.

Take it slow, enjoy the art.. It’s not a puzzle game but a light puzzler of beautiful scenes. Different and different is good. If you are looking for the plays-per-dollar kind of economic value game, move on. This “game” is for the crowd that drops coins into a busker’s hat, stops to see the unheard-of museum without first consulting Trip Advisor, or makes their way to “sunset pier,” for sunset.... because they couldn’t imagine not doing so.

One of the very finest games I have ever played. Hauntingly beautiful, both visually and spiritually, and deeply moving. I was more than a little choked up by the end. A game I will never forget. The wonderful story - told through the gorgeous illustrations and lovely musical score, without words - is the heart of the game. But this game is also highly creative and original - and challenging and lots of fun - purely as a game. It really creates its own category, what I would call “reverse parkour adventure.” I really can’t find the words to praise this game highly enough. Buy it and play it. You will love it and you will never forget it.

A different kind of “game”. I’m a pretty big gamer but this game is of an entirely different breed. It tells a story while you move the landscape enabling him to make his journey. I absolutely loved it but certainly not for everyone. The beautifully simplistic art and soundtrack along with the small interactions really make you feel as though you’re apart of the journey

Emotionally Impactful. At first I was hesitant to try this out as the gameplay didn’t really seem to be my cup of tea. What I found upon completing this game, was not just a game at all: this was an experience. It resonates so well emotionally and digs at your core. It tells a compelling story without dialogue and just the most relaxing, mood-setting music. You may find yourself a little teary-eyed as I did by the end. A masterful work of art.

A game focused on experience, not challenge. Although this game does not have super exciting gameplay, it has a simple puzzle aspect to it that lets you interact with the world in a way I never have done. The music was peaceful, the art style was beautifully done, and the touching story was told in a more powerful way than any other - On top of that, it did it without words. It’s an amazing experience to enjoy.

Overpriced Unfulfilling Copy of Monument Valley. Wow?! $5 for this? Do not buy. I purchased based on the awards. Very bad decision. Total game play is maybe an hour and it’s only because the old man walks slow. (Not that I have anything against old men or walking slow.) I envisioned puzzles or something thought provoking. Nothing, just beautiful pictures and redundancy. This game was clearly inspired by the novel and intriguing game Monument Valley. However that game includes story and thoughtful challenges. The Old Man includes no real challenge. Once you learn to click and move a hill it’s just work. No fun.

Can Hardly Be Called a Game. I appreciate all the efforts the developers made for the amazing music and graphics, that’s why I gave two stars. However, as a puzzle game, moving the ground to let the old man can walk through his journey can hardly be called a game. And it’s nice to see the old man from time to time falling into a piece of memory, which is a beautiful picture, but I just don’t get the motivation to do it anymore, just like I don’t know why the old man wants to start his journey at all. Sorry, but I don’t think I’m gonna ever find it out, this comment means my ending this “game”. P.S. I think there is a bug in your app, sometimes when it goes into a piece of video (like the memory scenes), the phone dims down, which I don’t suppose to happen in a game.

Gorgeous but shallow gameplay. I loved the art, the atmosphere, and the pacing of this story. The game mechanic was new, innovative, and fun but unfortunately the game leans on it too heavily, by mid-game I found it repetitive and boring. It also discourages exploration of the environment. There are cute little Easter eggs throughout the game but clicking anywhere navigable immediately sends your character there, sometimes with no way to back track. That made looking for interactive elements frustrating and no fun. With a little refining this could be an excellent game. As-is it’s on the low end of good. More like 3.5 stars.

Looks good but not really worth it.. The Ups: Graphics & Story The Downs: Gameplay & Controls The Verdict: Good for children and adults that like very little challenge. Pleasing graphics and a touching story but that’s about it. Very simple gameplay with very little challenge (first half of the game almost none at all) and the controls although very simple can become very annoying at times especially in certain areas. I saw the game all over Appstore but then waited and bought it when it was $1 if I’m not mistaken and I’m happy I did. Definitely not worth its full price for me.

Beautiful game. I found this game to be calmly amusing. I’ve played the first few levels and they aren’t too hard. Quite simple really. I expect the difficulty will increase as the game progresses. What really made me give this game 5 stars is the story line and animation. I appreciate the slow pace of the game as well. This game does require a certain adult mind set to appreciate. I would not get this game for children. Not that I’ve found any content objectionable, it’s just they won’t be able to keep interested.

Beautiful graphics and story. A meaningful game with beautiful graphics, lovely music, and relatable story. It’s can be a bit frustrating at times to get where you need to go but for the most part pretty relaxing. I enjoyed some of the small interactions you can have with the scenery. Overall not a challenging game, but what you are left with when you finish the game is the point.

Nice art but the game is ridiculously easy and boring. Nice art but the game is ridiculously easy and boring. If it was 99 cents id say it was worth that for the 30 mins of nice art and music but at this price it’s way too expensive for what you get.

Old man journey. I’m not much of a gamer because I’m not into the violence portrayed in most of the game these days but this one was different - at times I thought the program had a flaw - but it was me it got me to think outside the box and I finished it yeah - thank you

Lovely. Not particularly difficult or long game, but the production values are superb and it manages to reveal a moving story without words. Sequel please!

Masterpiece. The simple game mechanics serve the purpose of drawing you into the story rather than try to make you think too much. The attention to detail in the drawings, animations and the soundtrack show that this is a real labor of love. This is an experience that you will enjoy loosing yourself into.

It's interactive art, not a game. The puzzles aren't the last challenging and I completed the journey within 90 minutes. The art is beautiful though. So if you're after a game that challenged you, find something else. If you're after lovely art and sentimental story line, with a little audience interaction, this could be for you.

Too simplistic. Suitable for young children but seriously boring for adults.

Can’t open. Star are only given so I can contact. Your fix for opening doesn’t work. I have the new iPad mini ios14, it just hangs on a silhouette of the old guy walking and goes no further. Please get back to me when you have fixed it.

Avoid this game. Repetitive music and a gameplay that is unclear and at times feels unresponsive. I deleted it after a week.

Such a beautiful game. So evocative. Joyful and sad.

Breathtakingly Gorgeous. I cannot express how much I love this game and everything about it. Less of a game and more of a interactive storybook that makes you think and is filled with non stop artwork with the most beautiful colour palettes and design. The music is calm and so suited to the vibes this boutique game gives off. Pure fuel for the imagination 😍 thank you thank you thank you for making this game I wish there was a sequel!

My sort of game. This game reminds me of the opening few minutes of the movie Up. It attempts to communicate a complex emotional journey in, what is in the end, a fairly simple sequence of images. In between, you get to traverse a visually engaging landscape, find a small number of whimsical interactive elements that contribute nothing to the progress of the story but are fun nonetheless, and solve some simple puzzles mostly about spatial relationships. No heart pounding action or mind bending puzzles here. Just something that is quietly enjoyable. And that is a good thing. Well done.

Beautifully done but short. Great music and the artwork is brilliant.

Dull. Boring, annoyingly repetitive; ultimately a huge disappointment, given the hype of the positive reviews l read before purchasing.

Basically unplayable. The descriptions sounded lovely. Paid, downloaded and got nowhere. Crashes frequently and even when it doesn’t crash it doesn’t make sense as a game. Interactive story, maybe but it only seemed to have one way to develop, so really not all that interactive. Deleted ageyet 10 minutes of frustration.

Lovely. Wonderful narrative. If you like to savour your puzzles slowly without constant “ bings and dings “ this game is quite relaxing. Yoga for the mind.

Meh. It was OK. Great visuals and a good pace and not too difficult puzzles but certainly no ground breaker. Lacked a little in terms of story delivery and the direction of the story was a little diluted at times.

Can’t reset progress!. It’s absolutely ridiculous that there is no option to reset your progress in the game. So many games have this (eg. Monument Valley). Without it, you can accidentally skip ahead or forget which part of the game you’re up to! Seriously guys…This needs an update. I LOVE the game but this puts me off replaying it.

Beautiful Game. So good having an engaging game that is not violent, is beautifully paced and thoughtful. Favourite game would love to see more like this.

Beautiful but... I love these kinds of games. The art was beautiful, the music had a nice atmosphere but not particularly any stand out tracks. The letdown was the repetitive gameplay and the ho hum storyline. I didn’t feel sorry for him I felt more sorry for his family. I kinda found that I wanted the journey to be over sooner, there were a lot of hills. Still the art does make it stand out amongst its competition, but you might want to have a more engaging storyline next time.

Simple & beautiful.. Absolutely loved the game- not a long game by any means but full of beautiful sound and visuals, really magical. Loved it and worth the money. Wish there were more games like this.

Beautiful. Just had my heart broken by a mobile game 💔 but it was so beautiful.

Tugs at your heart strings.. Beautiful story about love, loss and redemption. This story unfolds in a series of vignettes scattered throughout the game. There is no pressure, no time limits - just beautiful, whimsical landscapes to travel through until you reach journey’s end. The animation is smooth and the soundtrack matches the whimsy perfectly. Don’t rush, take your time and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Lovely, gentle game.

One of the best games I've ever played. I absolutely loved this game!!! Hit me in my soft spot, the backing tracks were perfect, the game play was smooth and extremely satisfying.

Glorious. The artwork is lovely. There are some images that serve as major story points, and they surpass the main story art in detail and colour. There’s a kind of luminosity to these that is unusually beautiful. This has a real story, poignant, sad, and ultimately redeeming. The gameplay is pretty unusual—you move the ground to make a path for the character to walk. Something I really appreciate is the no-stress gameplay. Nothing is timed, you can't “die”—just take your time to work it out. This is really a stunning piece of interactive art and well worth the price of admission.

Exceptional.. I believe the pricing is fair and the experience was all-round breathtaking. I was immersed into this heart full story without words. 💕

Better than 5 stars. I wish I could rate this game more stars. Such a beautiful story told in such a touching artistic way without being heavy handed at all. Definitely takes you on a journey. Want to thank the team behind this beautiful piece. The gameplay is intuitive, with great animation and a soothing soundtrack :)

Lovely short game but not worth the money. I downloaded this about an hour and a half ago. Music, story and visuals are lovely but what you get for your money is not that great. The whole game, if you can call it a game, is just moving hills etc to proceed to the next memory. Expected a lot more for the price. Completed in just over an hour. If the price was better would have given more stars. I didn't get any bugs as per other reviews.

Beautiful. Super cute story with beautiful graphics and music

A masterpiece. An old man reminiscing about his life and relationships with some of the most breathtaking and memorable music and art you will find in a game (not just a mobile game). This is a the perfect game for that daily commute or a long flight.

One of my favourites. This game is now one of my favourites. I like how it used no words and slowly introduced the back story through flashbacks. How ever I think it could be longer. I did pay $7.99 for it. Maybe a sequel built in to it. So if you have payed for it you get the sequel. But still 5/5 the only fault is the length

Amazing. Absolutely loved this game, wish it was longer though.

Dumb. Dumb game....what can I say

Amazingly beautiful and challenging game. One of my favourite games to date. I love puzzle/adventure, and the beautiful, artful design this game has puts this high on my list. One bug I noticed when I got stuck and couldn't move on the hot air balloon level, but restarting fixed it. Well worth the money!

Really boring. Basically the same simple puzzle throughout the whole game; just moving mountains up and down. I wish I could get my money back.

beautiful. thank you

Frustrating. I agree with others that it is more of an interactive story. Not really challenging. The frustration comes from attempting to run it on an iPhone 7 with nothing else running and 83 gig of spare space. What is wrong? The more I play it the more it quits and I have even rebooted the phone several times. Last time I take any notice of 'amazing' reviews.

Amazing craftmanship. The art style, animation and sound design are incredibly well done. It’s been one very pleasing experience. But the game kind of stutter on my iPhone 11. It’s a little bummer.

Doesn't work. No good I downloaded on iPad 9.3.5 and it won't open. I want my money back.

Beautiful, but.... Beautiful graphics. Would be nice if the villages were not so incidental. If it were more interactive, that would improve the game.

Beautiful game. This game is a charming and heart warming game. The art and design in the levels is truly stunning. This game is worth the price.

Refund. How do I apply for a refund exactly.

Waste of money. Spent $8 to play 30 minutes of moving hills around. Not happy with this game.

Worth every cent. A masterpiece in beauty, the sublime, and sweetness, this game will delight the senses and inspire the mind. This game is not for the impatient or the violence-lover.

Old mans journey. Game is very short, good graphics and thoughtful story but over priced for size of game.

Nice but too short. This game was visually appealing. Sweet and sensitive. Quiet but nice enough to pass the time. Not enough time though... I paid $7.99 and played it on the saturday afternoon and early evening, went to bed and then played and finished it on the sunday morning. A few hours worth is not enough for $7.99 in my opinion.

A beautiful game. I found this wonderful to look at, nicely broken into 'chapters', puzzling enough to keep interesting with plenty of variation in the moving paths. My old man had to backtrack quite a few times. ☺️ Even the title credits were appealing. As for value I pay this much often for a book and it lasted the same sort of time as I need to read a book. Well done everyone who worked on it.

Visually great, but a little on the expensive side. Visually this game is great, and the story suits the animation. My only complaint is the game is a little on the simple side, meaning you can finish it within an hour, so paying anything more than about $1 just seems to be a little on the expensive side.

Very short but beautiful and emotional game. The game's art is beautiful. The story is meaningful and emotional. However it's puzzle is not at all challenging. The game is short and can be finish within 30- 90 minutes. This game is more like a interactive story telling art then a puzzle game.

Disappointed. Not really a game. More of a long, boring story about a white guy who does whatever he wants in life and hurts people around him

Piece of art. This game os a piece of art! Music and graphics are amazing!

Interactive art at its best!. I played the first half of this game on my own, and then my wife came and joined me. She was very sad at the end but said it was still beautiful - fun and intuitive gameplay for a couple of non-gamers, but still challenging enough to be enjoyable! The graphics are GORGEOUS.

It moved me away !. What an amazing story and the scenery.

An old mans journey. Hi When I was playing the game, it was so beautiful and so fun. But when I was on the level where the old man got off the boat and the weather was turning bad, I got to the bench to progress to the next level. That’s when my game froze. It’s happened at least 2 times now. Please fix it because I want to continue the game and see the ending.

Old Man’s Journey. I love this game!

Beautiful !. Loved it ! Magical and beautiful. Very calming. Stress free. Beautiful graphic, simple and relax puzzle and delightful music. The only small thing....too short for the price...wish it had more levels and lasted more than a very few hours.

crash at startup. Not working on ipad air 2 16gig

Beautiful game. I don’t usually finish games but could not put this game down :) Very innovative gameplay with a heartfelt message. Well done !!!

Wow. One of the most beautiful games I have ever played. And as an aspiring artist the visuals were wonderfully satisfying! A beautiful story as well. Thank you for this experience! ❤️

Relaxing. Beautiful and touching game👍

Cute and calm. This is such a cute game to get cozy with, bring blankets, a tissue box and ur fav cup of tea!

Narrative Mindfulness. This immersive puzzle rivals apps like “calm” and “headspace.” The storytelling, visuals and sound track capture the human experience and bring pause to your day. I look forward to a second adventure.

Beautiful game. Quite simple and enjoyable. Amazing design and art.

It’s so good both for adults and children. No pressure, good relaxation.

Beautiful intuitive game. All is so beautiful I this game Worth every penny

Gentle puzzle with a nostalgic tone.. Just hard enough puzzles to solve with treats along the way. Nice story arc!

The music. The music is just soooo terrible and every time I played to this game, I just shut it down!

Waste of money. Luckily I purchased this while on sale! Yes, the game is beautiful, but that’s all it has going for it. You do the same thing over and over again for about an hour. The story makes no sense and the way I interpreted it made me dislike the old man. I’m not sure how this game won so many awards but I regret spending $3 on it.

Beautiful game but way too repetitive. This game was designed beautifully but I think the designers were too caught up in the beauty and forgot that this was supposed to be a “game” at the end of the day. Everything is repetitive, from the way you have to move the hills to make the Old Man find his way, to the annoying goats that try to get in his way. I can see from the Old Man’s pauses that he has a loved one to visit for sad reasons but I can’t stick through this to find out the whole story. This was $7.00 I should have saved for a game that kept me interested.

Old Man. I open it and it shows the silhouette of an old man walking and it never gets beyond that repetitive scene! I cannot find support! I want my money back!

Old Man’s Journey. Absolutely lovely, The simplicity, sincerity, especially the illustrations Well done. Thank you

Magnifique. Magnifique et nostalgique Très agréable

Beautiful experience. Beautiful experience. Make sure to update to latest iOS or it will crash.

A work of art!. Thanks for the device syncing. This is a game to slow down and just enjoy the beauty, story and adventure. Gorgeous.

well worth it. A special game

It’s alright. The game looks amazing but it’s pretty repetitive and easy. The story was okay at best but it was a smooth play through no bugs. I finished in about 2 hours don’t know if it was worth the three dollars

Wow!!!. What a truly beautiful journey... so well thought out and told. I’m really impressed with the quality of this exceptionally story-driven “game”; if you’re a fan of action, shootem’ ups then this game is definitely not for you, but if you want to step out of the rat race and lose yourself in a tale of the heart then please, try The Old Man’s Journey.... you won’t regret it.

Short & Sweet. Almost more a story than a game. As an experience it was memorable and thought-provoking.

Very Good!!. Excellent game with a touching and amazing story. Great artwork as well!

A beautiful story and great gameplay.. Shed some tears at the end…

I LOVED THIS. I thought this game was amazing, and really touched my heart! The art style was amazing, and the puzzles had me very frustrated at times :) The only thing I would like to change is the amount of levels that happened. I felt like the game was very fast.

Stunning. This was a pleasure to play. It is absolutely beautiful. Loved it all. I just wish it was longer! :)

Beautiful. I never thought a game could evoke such emotion.

Overpriced and short. 3 stars for a beautiful visual and storyline. But it’s way too overpriced for a less than 3 hr game.

Very fun. It’s a super chill game with great graphics wish there was a little more action

Old Man goes home.. Beautiful story, great graphics, lovely problems. Colours and design perfect.

Beautiful time waster. Was expecting more. Graphics were 4.5/5. Gameplay 3/5. Story 2/5. Very predictable and repetitive gameplay. Visually kept me playing and wanting more. Ending was quick and undramatic. No replay value. Worth max $2 ($1 for the art, $1 for the gameplay).

Absolutely beautiful, but too short. I gave it 5 stars because tremendous artistry and creativity went into it. I would almost call it more a short story with interaction than a game. I would have liked it longer, it was too short, more levels would be welcome!

Beautiful game and love it. I love it and I cry he look around to her then he find she then he happy and he family go adventure

Absolutely beautiful. An amazing game. May be it should not be called a "game". From screen to screen one helps the old man into his journey, travel by changing/shifting aspects of landscapes. At the end of each stage, memories of his past. Well designed, great graphics. It kept my interest to the very poignant end. Definitely my best spent $$s in the Apple Store. If you are looking for a shoot-them-up game, an adventure or mystery, with lots of action... don't bother. This is a relaxing journey worth spending a few quiet hrs enjoying it. Thank you!

Beautiful. Poignant story, brilliant creative design, clever execution

Walking simulator. First the good: this game is beautiful in the graphics and the old man's memories are interesting. Now the bad: nothing to do except walk from A to B on each level. You must manipulate the land levels so the old man can move forward. At first it's interesting but quickly becomes very boring. The game never gets harder and waiting while he walks across the screen becomes a drag.

Wow. Simple gameplay, very beautiful, and heart felt story makes this a great game.

Excellent but not enough levels. This was an excellent app but I was disappointed that it had so few levels. I expected a longer game based on the cost.

Beautiful game. Great game however a bit short for a paid game

Très émotif. Un très beau jeu, bien fait, très jouable, et une belle émotion tout au long jusqu’au bout. Merci.

Needs a free trial!. Visuals are a 11/10. Gameplay is chill — more of a short story than a game actually. Story was somewhat predictable but still heartfelt. Can’t say it was worth the full $7 though. I wish it had a free trial — maybe level 1?

Swing and a miss. Game mechanics barely worthy of a five year old (mine finished the game easily) complemented a pathetic “story” which is both disappointing and unimaginative. The art alone could warrant three stars but the appalling price and crippling shortcomings drag it down to a one.

Jump and jump.... This game makes main hero jump from one hill to another... Thats all... Sometimes there are pictures coming up that make no sense, because there is no written explanation... This game should be free, but people shouldn’t be robbed for$7 for a game that involves a main hero just jump from one hill to another... My opinion: Don’t buy this game! Waste of money.

An absolute must play.. Played this game upon a recommendation from a buddy, completely worth it. One of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever experienced accented by perfectly matched music the whole way through. Buy this game.

Wonderful Game; Sweet Story. This was the first time I cried playing a game. Such a wonderful story. The graphics and music lulled me into a zen like state. I didn’t realize how invested in the story I had become until near the end. I highly recommend this sweet, beautiful little game.

Love. I cannot describe the emotions that I felt as I went along this journey with the old lost man. I felt the deep sadness, all while being intrigued by the art and carefully articulated music. It goes deep for me. Thank you.

Wow. This game is beautiful. The story told a lot without saying much. The game invoked a lot of emotions throughout the game through the music and images. The puzzles were nice and made the game worth playing. Definitely worth playing.

Short and simple but well executed. Beautiful game, which is why I bought it. However, it is a bit simplistic and way too short. I understand the pricing being $5 but I feel like they put all of their money into the graphics.

Strong atmosphere, weak gameplay. The atmosphere in this game is very well attained, with the right combination of graphics, colors, and music. This is hardly a game, however; it’s more of a mildly interactive short story. When I say short, I mean over in a couple hours. Although it’s technically a puzzle game, the puzzles are not hard, and the type of challenge is very repetitive. Not worth paying more than $1.

Old Man Walking Simulator. Found this game lacking. The story, at least to me, wasn’t very clear. *spoiler* didn’t know if the women with the red hair at the end was his wife or daughter. Then he suddenly gets married and has a kid with the nurse of the dying patient? *end spoiler* Seemed a bit too much like “Hey I know what happened was awful, but imma replace you.” If I got the story completely wrong it wasn’t on me. It was on the developers for not making the story clear enough.

Too short. I was disappointed to see how quickly I went through the game, just several hours. It was not difficult, but I loved the story and the graphics were beautiful.

Personal preference. I love the art style I can only compare it to Oxenfree. What is disappointing is that you can’t zoom in & get more detail. Game style is similar to Between The Gardens. Great graphics wonderful soundtrack but this puzzle style isn’t my favorite.

Enjoyable but short. I really enjoyed playing this game. But I completed it, start to finish, in the amount of time it took my younger kids to take an afternoon nap. I would rather pay for games like this than pay the hidden cost of all those free games. But for $5 I expected more than an hour of gameplay.

Beautiful Game. I really LOVED this game. In addition to the stunning art and reflective melodies, there is a tranquility to this game that calmed me as I walked through it. Old Man’s Journey made me think about the journey of life, its storms, fond memories of youth, loss and sorrow. Maybe this game hit me at exactly the right point in my life to have such an impact, but I see why this is an ‘editors choice’ game.

Incredible. The most stunning game I’ve ever played. Incredible graphics, with strategy that is more zen than frustrating along with an emotional and lovely storyline. I found this game extremely relaxing and hope this developer makes another one soon.

Breathtaking but to short. I paid full price and it was relaxing and a very enjoyable sad journey but it ended to quick I completed it within the day I hope more could be added just because now that I’ve completed it it’s just going to sit but I have already fully committed to the price. Aside from that the graphics were beautiful and the story heartfelt.

A game for our times. This game truly was made for those moments when things outside are at their worst. It makes you slow down savor it and cultivates a stillness of mind and soul that is both rejuvenating and meditative. Thank you

Tear jerking story. A tale of following your passion vs family life. Game not too hard once you get the basic down. Very good graphic art style and a much realistic story about a old man regrets. You will laugh and cry on this journey. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful gentle stroll through the countryside.. If you're looking for a high speed car chase, move on young whipper snapper. This game is literally an old man walking. But it's awesome. The music, the art, the puzzles, and oh my goodness the memories. So beautiful. Great job folks. Can't wait to see what y'all do next.

Essential. Classic.. Every human being should share in the beautiful memories of life enshrined in this simple game with such a deep message. Beautiful art, entertaining gameplay and meaningful storytelling make this one of the all time greatest apps, in my opinion.

Nice and comfortable. This is a great game the platform play out with puzzles. It’s fresh and airs out some of the old and brings in fresh air. There is two things that can be improved the length of the game and the puzzles are straight to the point. The game is sweet and short a very good game how it tells his story.

Good but Short Story. ‘Old Man’s Journey’ is a decent app (I wouldn’t really call it a game so much as an interactive story?), but I really don’t know why it received an Apple Design Award (particularly considering it had barely released when it received one). It’s insanely short and offers essentially no replay value. That said, it is beautifully rendered, and is way better than the freemium games that plague the App Store.

Amazing Experience. Very beautiful game with relaxing gameplay and puzzle solving. Looks amazing on the iPhone X too. Good job devs, and thanks for making a premium title and not some free to play garbage like 99.9 percent of the other mobile games out there

Really.... I just fished this game and was seriously disappointed. I bought the game because the graphics were amazing however once I started playing it I found myself very bored. There's no real point to the game. You just take a walk. When I finished it I was very surprised that it was over, you could beat this in an hour tops if you wanted to. I recommend not purchasing this.

Outstanding. This game lives in the sweet spot, somewhere between a puzzle and an interactive story. Well worth the money. It’s clear that so much care and attention went into making it. Looking forward to seeing what this developer comes up with next.

A moving tale full of visual glories. This heart-warming tale unfolds at an easy human pace, graced by serene music and beautiful landscapes which unfold in layered depth. The old man’s memories are subtly joined to the action as he progresses to his familial goal. I’m hoping this production team has more in mind. Don’t miss this one.

Relaxing. Just what I was looking for, yet unexpected.. Amazing game. I’m not a gamer, not have a ton of time or patience. Was surprised how easy this was to pick up, but maintain some challenge. And the I was also caught off guard with the amazing graphics and emotional story that played out. Highly recommend.

Not a game. This is one another example of video games being art. However, it’s not really a game. It’s a walking simulator with just some silly puzzles to make you interact with it. Would be better if it were an animated short film—which is practically already is, except it’s so slow because you have to take every step yourself and don’t have the benefits of editing. Music is good. Design is good. Story is a basic heart touching love and loss story. It’s fine. I don’t recommend playing it.

Great picture quality. The game is so calming and creative, I love the idea of just playing the game without being interrupted by ads, being asked to rate the game, or micro-transactions. The art style is so original as well. :)

Meh...Not worth what you pay for but cute story. SPOILER ALERT! All you do is drag the ground so he can jump from place to place. The art is beautiful and the story is cute but really not worth the money. I think it’s good for people who aren’t looking for a challenge or just to relax but still not worth the price. I gave it two stars for the art and story and I gave another star cuz I love that the daughter has a child and that child has a red curl like his/her grandmothers hair!

Pretty boring. This game did nothing with me like other games have this review is mainly going to be about how this game is difficult when you go to a certain point it got pretty boring you’re just rolling a wheel and moving around if you like adventure you should totally do the game album it is magnificent my father Storage so he could pay a mansion in the arcade prize so boo-hoo to you.

Very good. I’m easily stressed by gameplay but love a good story so this more slow paced game was perfect! The story was all kinds of sweet and I may have cried just a little at the ending. I’ve played through it twice and loved it twice. Highly recommend

Visually beautiful, exceedingly boring “gameplay”.. If you like walking simulators then you’ll probably enjoy this, but if you’re looking for actual puzzles then avoid this. Slow pace, predictable story line. Does clicking here do something or does it change where the character is walking to? Move some lines, make the character plod somewhere is the extent of the puzzles. Great artwork, tho.

I’m not sure how this got so many stars. A man acted selfishly and hurt everyone he supposedly loved. It was really depressing. Were we supposed to feel sorry for him? I sure didn’t. And it was a little creepy at the end. I’m assuming that was his daughter he was with, so where did the little one come from? Creepy. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for this. It was a pretty story, but there wasn’t much to it.

Very Short. I paid over $5 for a game that only lasted 90 minutes. While the story was amazing, and the game play and controls were nice, it was not worth the $5+ that I paid to own it and occupy myself for only 90 minutes. Not worth the investment in my opinion. It gets 3 stars for its controls, story and overall easy play and understanding.

Beautiful and engaging. I am not a typical gamer and found Old Man Journey captivating. Just the right amount of challenge and puzzling, with the backdrop of peaceful sounds and detailed design to support a beautiful story. I loved all of the little ways you could manipulate the environment. Lovely game!

Beautiful game. The visuals in this were beautiful. The puzzles themselves weren’t very difficult but still made you think. I loved the storyline and being able to watch it all unravel. However I wish the game had been a bit longer.

Great game :). I really enjoyed this. I found it so soothing. It was like taking a beautiful trip and getting stumbled up just a little bit now and again. The artwork is beautiful and uncluttered throughout, and the music was really enjoyable. I’m looking forward to checking out more from this studio.

Simply Beautiful. Gorgeous game. Not for someone that loves shooting and action... this isn’t a game like that. Very thoughtful, relaxing and beautiful to watch it unfold. Maybe a little pricey for how short it is... I got it on sale. Very well done. Wish it was longer.

Beautiful and captivating. The artwork - beautiful. The music - peaceful. The puzzles - intriguing and challenging. The story - heartbreaking. Overall, this game was such a calming experience. I was so sad when I had finished it, because I enjoyed playing it so much!

not worth the price. The game is absolutely beautiful but it plays more like a short film. Not worth the $4.99. It didn’t take me long to get through the game which was very slow going, not much to do and no instruction. Once the game is over and there is nothing to do that’s it. Game over. No more game. For $4.99. I would have rather rented the movie because then I would have expected it to be over when it was done. Seriously. I was done in a few hours.

Buy. Now.. It took me a couple of levels before I understood the game, but once I did...obsessed! Wonderful graphics and storyline. Game play is relaxed. I usually play time management games, so it was nice to take this game slowly and strategize at each level. Love it! Looking forward to more!

Shuts down(UPDATE!). I finally figured out that I needed to update my software in order to play the game without it shutting down my iPad. So I have changed my rating to reflect my post-update experience. I enjoyed the game and appreciated the design. I did find myself stumped a couple of times, but I would recommend the game.

Meditative gameplay, very little challenge.. This game is cute, and the way you move the old man around is clever - but it gets old fast. The game is great if you're just looking for something you don't have to think too much about. If you like puzzles that are even slightly challenging, this is not the game for you. In my opinion this game is over priced and underwhelming.

Beautiful and thoughtful. This games is a journey of the heart and spirit. The graphics are lovely in color and texture. The game play is challenging in a good way. Each level made me feel like I could reach the solution without being tricked. The memories of the old man were relatable and universal.

Great but too short. Beautiful drawings and great music for the game. I loved it but it was too short of a game. There are so many free games that have lots more to them and so many levels you almost can’t even finish them but this game too me what felt like no time to finish.

A Breakthrough in Gaming. This is perhaps the most charming, meaningful little game I’ve ever played. It is like a fable that reveals an important moral to the player; almost a meditation. Those who want death, destruction and gratuitous violence will not like this game. Those who want something different and truly beautiful and useful, will.

old man Logan. The purpose of the old man journey around the country side was kind of confusing and very null. Asking myself question like why he’s taking this journey or what destination he’s taking. But right after the ending (no spoiler) I became more understanding of his journey. Sad ending

Hot air balloon bug. After getting off the hot air balloon I managed to get back on it, then I’m not sure where I clicked but my old man got off, turned to the left and froze. The game wasn’t frozen, just the old man. He couldn’t walk any more. Maybe arthritis? 😉

Beautiful, but very short. This app is beautifully produced, but it took me very little time to understand how it works and to finish the story. I would have liked more interactive elements, more variety in puzzle solutions, and/or a longer story. Feeling a little duped for paying the full $4.99 price.

Beautiful game, though a little confusing. The visuals and story line are simple but beautiful, with a powerful message. The gameplay is fairly straight forward, though a little confusing, as the background and foreground sort of blend together, making it a little unclear at times what terrain can and can’t be interacted with. I got stuck for a fe

Don’t waste your money!!. The puzzles are the exact same each level! You move hills up and down, up and down. Every once and awhile, you move sheep. These extremely simplistic “puzzles” don’t make sense, and are so much more frustrating than enjoyable. The only good thing I have to say about this game, is the art style is beautiful, and nice. So, if you want to spend $5 to look at a nice picture, this is the game for you.
