My Favorite App. Honestly, I want to give this app only 4 stars, simply because of the fact that I can’t make the reading font smaller than the minimum 75% and that bugs me, but this app certainly deserves the 5 stars. Yes, I know that that issue is a very minor thing, but before I used this app for all of my Fanfiction needs I used the FF app made by PentaLoop, and I loved how the text size had virtually no maximum or minimum size, meaning I could fit so much more on my screen and it took a while longer before I had to scroll down in order to read more. Not that big of a deal, honestly, but I would absolutely love it if the minimum reading font was either removed or simply greatly lowered, and I don’t know where else to write this out to you.

Good app .. faulty updates lately. I love this app. I usually listen to whatever story I’m reading but lately that’s been difficult as it stops reading out to me sometimes after one paragraph and I have to go and select the next paragraph to get it started again. Also if the story doesn’t load the updated chapter it kicks me out of the app and logs me off so I have to log back in. Along with the stories that I have saved being updated but really they aren’t and haven’t been updated it just reloads it like it has and I have to go into the story to clear it and some updated ones don’t even show up with the others on occasion. Ever since these apparent last two-three updates there’s just been more issues popping up.. usually I don’t have any issues with this app I love being able to access these stories from anywhere and have no issue reading them .please fix this

Love it!!!. This app is great! I love reading the fanfics and I especially love writing them and getting feedback. The only thing I would say is the mobile version doesn’t have the option to see your story’s stats. By this I mean that you can’t see how many people have read your story, who liked/loved it, etc. It’s not a major thing, but I still like to see that stuff. Otherwise, the app is awesome! It’s a great way to practice writing and have some constructive feedback given about your work. It’s also really fun to read the fanfics that other people have published. Some of the ideas are super creative and they’re very entertaining. I totally recommend this app for any bookworms and/or aspiring authors.

Works great when it wants to. It’s a good app and makes everything easy to understand. The filter for the story are really good and the added detail for the search makes it good. The problem is that every once in a while it gets buggy as hell. It usually just acts slow and won’t load making me have to restart the app. Also when I do restart it it sometimes doesn’t let me log in for some reason for a while. That wasn’t the case this time for every time I closed the app it logged me out making me do everything over again. Also for some reason it’s not downloading my stories even though it’s done so several times. I highly recommend the Play Store version, it’s runs way smoother, has little to no bugs, and has to be the better version. Please fix these as soon as possible.

Good; Needs Improvement. As far as the comparison between the website and the app, the app is a bit different than the website and it is hard to find things. Another thing for writers such as myself I find that needs improvement, is story covers. I have a story cover for a Fanfiction I am working on but I can’t seem to figure out if you can add a cover photo or not. :/ So far, there have been no findings of it. Overall, it’s a pretty good app but it needs and upgrade and some improvements here and there more of today’s reading/writing apps. The most improvement I think it needs, is to enable writers to add a cover photo from their gallery for their story.

Works well, until it starts "quitting unexpectedly". I have had this app working awesomely ever since 2022, however in the past few months, I have had problems opening it. It says the program "quits unexpectedly". I have tried to redownload it and yet, still the same problem. Putting this out here for the devellopers to know about this issue.

I have a few suggestions.... Firstly I’d like to start off by saying that I love the app as it is...as an avid FanFiction reader it’s everything I could have hoped for in an app, but I do have a few suggestions. Firstly I think that a tab system could be implemented for stories that are being read. I personally like to move back and forth between different fics I’m reading depending on my mood and whatnot, so If there were a way to switch between stories via some sort of tab or something similar it would really help. And the only other thing I can think of is having a way to lock the screen so that I don't accidentally bring up the font settings while I’m reading, it’s something that’s happened to me repeatedly and fixing that somehow would be a huge help. Otherwise it’s a perfect app and it’s one that I use everyday. 😁

Not impressed. From what I’ve seen so far of this app it’s garbage. Even though I’ve been a member for at least 8yrs I decided to download the app the other day. The first time I tried to log on it notified me that my password has been compromised due to a data breach. This is the first I’ve ever heard of a data breach. Maybe the data breach happened because I downloaded the app? And then asked me if I would like to change my password. This is an excellent idea except when I tap the link to change the password it takes me to fanfic’s front page and I’m having trouble trying to find the area to actually change my password. Settings on the app is useless. It looks like I’m going to have to delete the app to actually go in to the website to change my password. The other issue I take offense with is the app has apparently issued me a default avatar which I do not care for. I have spent the last 15 minutes going in circles trying to figure out how to change it to another image. I cannot find where to do that and I so far cannot find any help area to give me instructions to change it.

Mostly Good. I have been using the app for years, and I have always loved how user friendly it is. But in one of the latest updates some things have happened. The first of which is private messaging. The private messaging feature has never worked for me 100% of the time, but now it doesn’t work at all. The other problem is the crossovers when browsing for a new story. If I wanted to read a crossover, then I would have clicked on the crossover tab. However, all the stories are mixed together now and it’s really annoying. Either put it back the way it was before, or provide me a way to exclude crossovers in the filters. The last thing is how it claims you can publish your story on the go. In theory you can, but you definitely have more control over the formatting in the browser version. Also, there is no way to access traffic stats in the app. Overall, more convenient for reading (excluding the crossover thing) than publishing and interacting with readers.

Why drop Intel support?. Not happy about support dropout on Intel Macs. App still flagged as compatible on App Store, and cannot open after update. Was lucky to have backup of last known working Intel-compatible version of app. At least have to decency to flag it as incompatible in the Store if you are dropping support; was rather frustrating to redownload entire collection which took hours.

Please get this fixed. So I’ve been using the app for a long time. It’s one of my all time favorite app to read FanFictions. But yesterday at night time when I opened the app it asked me to sign in again, sometimes when I would check other tabs on my phone it would ask for me to sign in again, even when using the app it would tell me to sign in again after signing me out. It’s getting frustrating to keep signing in because I just want to open the app & not have to worry about anything else other than reading. I even tried deleting the app & downloading it again to see if they would help, I tried giving it an update. Neither worked. I hope you can get this fixed quickly

Edit: Thank you. Edit: Thank you for fixing the logout issue. I can now enjoy the app fully once more. I used to enjoy reading on this app and have probably used it for over 200 hours in the last year alone. However, the app recently has had a weird development where, if the app is closed or crashes, the app automatically logs you out of your account. Each time this happens, the settings on the app are reset to the default ones, even if you log back in to the same account. There is no way to get the app to remember your login, so this problem cannot be circumvented when the app still crashes in the background on occasion. I will willingly edit this review when this issue is resolved. (This is an issue that only begun in the last two weeks for me.)

Going downhill. The app was really good but something happened literally last night while I was sleeping. Cause now I can’t read any stories cause it says “retry” every time I click on something. I even updated the app but it’s still not working. And it’s wired cause I was literally reading on the app yesterday around 1-2 am (which would technically be earlier today)

Great App Overall, but…. I very much enjoy this app, due to the HUGE library of titles, across a variety of genres. I love that there’s a setting so the app can also be used like an audiobook; I use this feature frequently! I especially like that I can download stories to read later, offline. It’s also cool to be able to converse with authors & other users. The two complaints I do have (and why I’m only giving this app 4 stars): 1) I don’t know if there’s a way to purge downloaded stories or not, but if there is, I can’t figure out how to do it! If there’s not, I would suggest to developers that they create such a feature, as I don’t care for the clutter created in my downloaded box by stories I’ve already read. 2) When in audiobook mode, if I have to break in the middle of a chapter, the app always starts back at the beginning of the chapter, rather than picking up where I left off. It is very annoying to have to manually scroll down and find where I left off, as the voice continues reading from the start, until I can find the correct paragraph and select it to get it to jump back to reading where it left off before. I would suggest developers correct this issue as well.

Love It! Just One little Issue.... I love this app and it’s worked fine for me, however, there is one thing I wish they would change. The story sorting. I used to write on my computer, and on the PC version the stories are sorted alphabetically. On the app they’re sorted by whenever you work on them, hence stories you haven’t touched are at the bottom working up to the ones recently changed. This may not be a big deal to everyone, but for someone like me who has many stories and work on several different ones at once, it gets very cluttered. I know there’s an option where you can choose to sort them alphabetically but it’s temporary. I’d like to see it changed to where you choose to switch between both modes and have it stay that way.

Why so complicated?. The old site may have had its flaws, but it was so beautifully simple. They actually used words instead of weird symbols that made no sense. If you wanted to look up the history of all the reviews you left… There it was under “review history.” If you were looking for an answer or help… It actually gave you answers or help. Here, anytime you want help it shoots you right back to your own page. Thanks. There’s so much I can’t do on this app that I was able to do on the old page. Why don’t you have some sort of index? And worst of all… how did you manage to to put this all together in the most most illogically, overly complex, clunky way possible? Yes there are positive points which I do enjoy - I can easily find a story that I started to read. There the ability to “download” a story. Technically, it’s really just a bookmark. (only for online reading) And I really do appreciate the lack of advertising that breaks up the page in the old site. But to be honest, navigating this thing is one of the greatest headaches on the Internet.

For a Reader: Very nice; for a Writer: Not useful. I enjoy the reading aspect of the app very much and prefer it to the mobile or desktop website experience. Nice features for fonts, font sizing, background colors that are easy on the eyes, scrolling, and screen timeout. I also enjoy that it can keep track of where I left off in all of the stories I'm reading. From a writing perspective it needs a lot of work. I was disappointed when I went to edit and found that it had lost all of my return breaks. That problem alone cost me time and effort going back to my laptop and re-editing the entire chapter. Not cool! This issue makes this part of the app not useful, which is frustrating. Also, I find it annoying that I have an icon to my PM box, but nothing is there - and I do have messages in my inbox on the website. Don't have options that are not functional across the entire platform. Again, not useful. When I receive an alert that I have a PM but can't get to it from my app that's annoying.

Good idea that needs improvement. This app is pretty good for readers, but for authors it isn't helpful at all. I can't find a way to submit chapters or stories from the app, and typing in the documents section is pointless. The document typing doesn't allow for italics (vital for such things as distinguishing thought from dialogue) or for scene break lines. Even worse, text pieces copied from other sources (like Google Docs) and pasted in FanFiction documents do not retain those things just mentioned. It's more efficient to cut out the app altogether and use the site, and that shouldn't be more efficient. For those who like both to read in sessions and write, it is very inconvenient to switch between the site and the app. Additionally, private messaging does not syncs between the app and site. In conclusion, I think this app was a good idea but was released too soon. Please address all of these issues. EDIT: OK, you earned one more star with the last update. Including bold, italic, and underlining for docs was a good call, and so was the addition of story management. But I'm still not quite satisfied with the doc manager for its lack of those scene break lines. I also wish that, if app messaging can't be synced to the site, it could at least send notifications of incoming messages either by phone banner notification or by email. I acknowledge that improvements are being made, though. Solid.

So many bugs. This app is really frustrating to use, especially since the last update. The app is constantly logging me out and losing all my settings, losing my reading history and losing my place in the story I was reading. This seems to happen every time my WiFi drops or if try to use the app on airplane mode. This is really inconvenient as I prefer to set my phone to airplane mode whilst reading to avoid distractions. What’s the point of downloading stories if I get constantly logged out if I try reading offline? Also, error reporting is seemingly disabled and comes up with an error page or a message saying that my email address is not set (which it is). Screen display settings, especially typeface settings, come up randomly extremely often when scrolling the story. It’s very annoying and distracting. It would be much better if it was harder to access those settings, as they aren’t adjusted often.

Nice, buggy, needs interface work. UPDATE: truly incredible. You’ve broken it again. Story flips to the last Page and the font size changes and clips the ends of lines when you shift from the program. So much for conveniently staying where I put it. I truly enjoy this app and the FanFiction it gives me access to, BUT it could use a bit of work and flexibility People have touched on the bugs, so I’ll give my wish list instead. Configuability: I would like the ability to force the upper/lower status bands to remain constant. I get lost in a good story and currently have no convenient way to monitor the time and the state of my battery without performing the status band mambo of tapping just right and then the top (important because it has the info I need) band disappears the moment I scroll without so much as a by your leave. Screen functionality. I would love to be able to turn off the screen navigation in whole or in part. Nothing more frustrating than to be in the middle of a chapter only to slip and have the app decide you meant to flip to the top or bottom of the chapter. Sorting. Sometimes I want my list sorted in most recently updated order, sometimes in most recently read and sometimes alphabetically by either author or title. Other nice to have: history of the last n stories I’ve opened, not just current or last read as I have now.

New update and old bugs. Hey, my name is Stephanie and I’ve been using this app for around a year and a half and I’m usually a very patient person. However I feel the new updates that this app has been going through reverses the experience of “updating” the app. Firstly, they added a voice reader feature that eliminates listening to music at the same time as reading, and that is insanely annoying. Secondly, chapters black out frequently so in the circumstance that I’m reading through a multi chapter book, I’d swipe for the next chapter and I’d just be black. Thirdly, the app DOENST save where I left off for multi-chaptered novels, somehow always reverting back to chapter one that it’s getting really annoying. At this point I’m thinking about using another app because not being able to listen to music while reading is the biggest deal breaker. Thanks for everything, but I liked the monkey type writer loading screens a lot better than the flipping book pages.

Great app text to speech is a godsend. This FanFiction app has come along way from when it first came out. I find the “folders” function to be a very helpful tool lets let’s me sort my fanfics it would be better if I was allowed to add subfolders into the folders themselves. Another great plus is the text to audio gotta be my favorite function I listen to fanfics while I’m at work and it’s great to just here the stories since I don’t have time to sit down and read them myself. I find that Karen English (Australia) is the best choice for audio. I Another feature I like the how the audio will continue reading to the next chapter and I don’t how to manually flip it.

i love the app but...and here is how to fix the notifications. i wish there was a way to hide the cross overs and OCs (own characters) also there needs to be a notification center. don’t change the reading list just add a notification center so i can look on my own time and not lose my list of stories that i was actually recently reading. they overwhelm the list and when i go to see the story i was actually reading i can’t find it b/c it is buried under stories that were re-added or re-downloaded. look at wattpad’s layout. i admit i don’t use wattpad like i used to but they at least had a notification center and the list didn’t get overwhelmed with old stories being downloaded.

I use this app to post my fanfics. As the title states, I use this app to post my fanfics or add chapters to the story! But there’s a bug that popped up after this last update. When posting a chapter, the space bar doesn’t work unless you put the words down first then go back and put the type bar thingy between the words and use the space bar repeatedly until it works. It’s not a big bug as the space bar not working glitch only happens when you are naming a story or the chapter you are posting, so it’s not a big thing to worry about fixing but it is a bit of a hassle having to try and put a space between the words sometimes. Also whenever I leave the document part of the app, where I write my stories, it wraps me to the main page that has the friends, beta readers, pm and other “inner apps” for the app itself and I think that can be fixed, this one glitch has been happening to me for a year now Please fix it When it gets fixed, I will see if there are any bugs left and post about them here

Pretty good. Just one problem.. Hello. I recently joined FF about maybe two weeks ago, and the stories are absolutely amazing. (At least for the fandom I read.) Anyway, I decided that I would start to write my own fan fiction. It’s pretty good so far, even though I’m only on chapter one. I was about to post my first chapter, until I looked at the preview... The preview looked nothing like what I had just written. There were no paragraph breaks, it was all clustered together, and I don’t write like that. It would be great if you could fix this problem, because I’m really looking forward to making tons of stories on here, but for me, it’s nearly impossible to do that without paragraph breaks. Btw, I don’t know if it’s the fact that I use an iPhone? I hope not, since I can’t really write on the computer... Other than that, I really enjoy this app. Please fix!

Voice Options. I'm glad that they finally added more voices to the desktop version of this app because I enjoy Samantha (iphone) on the phone. However, although Samantha is the default now on the desktop app, there isn't a way to change the voice options. I belive the button is broken since there is still a section in the settings to is supposed to create a drop down menu. This isn't a problem for me, but it could be if I wanted to read something in a different language.

Fantastic app, one suggestion though. I love the app’s simplicity and streamlined process (and ad-less-ness) but the one thing that would be nice is an extra filter in story searching, namely the fact that there are so many filters to search for only stories fitting that category but not many to exclude, like for instance the crossover filter, there are times when it would be very nice to be able to exclude certain fandoms (there are 800,000 Harry Potter fanfictions and 400,000 Naruto, that means that most crossovers if you don’t search for a specific other fandom gets over saturated with Harry Potter and Naruto.) The ability to search for certain criteria is amazing, I just wish the ability to filter out certain criteria was better developed. That being said, it’s still an amazing app.

Very good, but a bit troublesome. As a reader, this app is very good. The layout and settings are simplified, and able to be adjusted accordingly to the reader. Though, when using phrase/term search, it becomes a little troublesome as some stories, which I know exist on the website, don't always pop up on the app. Not exactly a big problem, but still a problem. Now, as an author... well, it's a bit of a 50/50. As stated earlier, everything is very simple, but while writing I've had my fair share of annoyances. For one, there is no line break present, and two, whenever I want to edit a part that is smack-dab in the middle of a long chapter, or even in the very beginning, the cursor is brought all the way to the bottom. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but on devices such as an iPad or iPhone, the space in which you can see the text you've written is much smaller, making it a lot more tedious to scroll back up to the point you wanted to edit. All in all, a very good app indeed, if only with a few kinks. I'm sure these will be resolved in due time, but even then I will continue to use this app.

Overall a Good App. This app is overall a very good app, but there is a few changes. In the filter, I would like to get more specific. For example, add characters to the filter, so if I wanted to read a story with Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, then I could just use the filter. Also, you could get even more specific and filter it only to when they are couples, if I wanted to see one. I would also like it if you had a choice to put a book in your library or not, because sometimes I will read a chapter of a book and decide I don’t like it, but it’s stuck in my library. For an alternative, you could also give the option to go to your library and remove books. Also, for some reason it always automatically filters it to K-T? While I understand that it’s better for kids, you could make your readers click their age, and it would be fixed, just like that. If they are below 18, then automatically filter it K-T, but if not, don’t do it because it gets really annoying having to turn off the filter every time I search something up. After these minor tweaks, this app would definitely be a 5 star, as I have no other problems with it. Please take my ideas into consideration.

It has good features but. I use the app almost exclusivly because of the accesibility features, both on my macbook and iphone. It is easy to switch from one device to the other as long as you're signed in. It however does not play nice with the built in accesability features and the most recent iOS update for both iphone and mac basically broke the screen reader function while this problem has been somewhat addressed for iphone the same cannot be said for macbook. On my iphone the screen reader will randomly switch voices (to one of the most obnoxious and mechanical voice options), read a paragraph then crash. Screenreader is still not working on my macbook, So far I have occasionally gotten Tessa (South Africa) and Veena (India) they're not the best voice choices and are very mechanical sounding.

Love the app but…. So I’ve had this app since last year in August and I’ve loved it soo much ever since. I mostly read Total Drama related books on their because I just loved the show (at least most of it) shout out to everyone that writes total drama related books on there btw I adore you. But anyways the recent update kinda messed up the app. When I accidentally swiped my screen to a different chapter and when I swiped back to the chapter I was reading, it somehow got to the bottom of chapter I was reading and that didn’t used to happen when I first started reading on the app. Also sometimes when I search a stories that I find on the web the story never shows up so I have to search the author’s name of the story. Other than that I think the app is amazing! If you’re looking for apps to read on I recommend this one.

Fanfiction Writers Best Friend. Love the new audio feature which was my only qualm with the app not having! Thank you, thank you, thank you for listening! Might I suggest with a later update to add in a tap feature to choose there the audio begins reading? At this point it’s great to listen to while doing things, but things happen, life interrupts and you don’t always have the chance to pause it. Meaning you either miss whole big chunks or you have the restart the chapter all over again, which is annoying task with the longer chapters. Or sometimes you want to just skip to listen to a favorite part of the story. Also adding in a feature to will allow the audio to continue reading into another chapter, not just stop at the end(something that is great for the 100 word story told in snippet. I know the other app I use has an add play every three or so chapter which while distracting is tolerable to having to keep stopping and changing chapters.

Say goodbye to fanfic offline if cannot use this app. The problem with this app if anytime update and no longer open the app. You have no choice to delete the app and download again to get function. This is a second time and I no longer trust this app for people who download for offline mode. The biggest problem is download for offline fanfiction. If author decide to delete your favorite story that already download. Your favorite story will be still there until this app start update to latest version that may crash when open the app. Which to reinstall app, you delete all data, even your favorite story that will permanent gone too. Sad, sad. Better use other third party or on computer to download a favorite story to ensue that will never get delete. If you cannot get a app open or crash on open. Say goodbye to favorite story that you download that author may delete already. I will give 2 out of 5 because of update app result crash on startup. Also lack of maintenance on the website with lot of ads, broken feature, lack of change of announcement, etc. I fear this app will be broken in future.

Edit: Back to the way it used to be. Edit: Fixes have been released and the app is now working as it used to. I actually got super happy because I had a backlog of story releases to catch up on. Thank you for this app. Old: So I'm having issues with this app. I have used this app ever since I got an iPhone and I loved everything about it. I had a nice collection of fanfics I downloaded but ever since maybe two updates ago, all the stories I had downloaded got deleted and only 11 stayed downloaded. Plus, the app has become literally unusable. You can't load stories, you can't view stories, you cant do anything with the current state of the app. It will either stay loading infinitely or just gives you a black screen. Please fix the app and I'll change my review.

Please fix login problem!. I read FanFiction mostly on my tablet since I don’t have a computer. And ever since pop up adds have been occurring through safari and google chrome I switched over to the app so I didn’t have those. It’s really nice to read anywhere and my tablets screen is the perfect size. But this week has been horrible! When I don’t read on it for a while the app keeps logging me out and resetting my settings back to where they originally were. It’s annoying!! It messes with the font and makes it huge, which is an easy fix, but I don’t want to have to do it every time I want to read! I noticed you fixed the crashing problem it seemed to have, but this one really gets to me. So I really hope you can figure it out soon!

Great App, Just a Few Inconveniences. Extremely thankful for the app version, I have yet to see any bugs or major differences from the website. There are, of course, a few things that have been annoying. The sorting of the characters in the filter is extremely difficult to deal with when they're in the order of how many fics they've been featured in. I'm sure most people would prefer if they were put in alphabetical order like how it's done on the site. The same thing with fandom selection when you're looking for crossovers, having them in order of amount of stories that have been written about them makes it extremely difficult to find anything. Being able to delete/edit your own reviews would be another nice addition to the app. It would save a lot of people the trouble of having to move between the app and the site when wanting to fix some poorly worded feedback. Another thing, this being probably what annoys us readers the most, the screen moving in and out of reading view with only one tap really interrupts the reading experience and is incredibly annoying, most of the times we tap the screen are accidental. Fixing that would be absolutely incredible, especially if you guys could change it into two taps instead. Other than what's written above, the app is pretty incredible. Thank you.

Amazing but.. Honestly the apps been a godsend since my favorite read aloud program got pulled from the AppStore. The ability to translate and read aloud as well as download has streamlined a lot of what I use to do in separate apps. UI’s good and the gestures are simple. Only couple of things missing are an auto play and timer. I mostly read using tts programs and having to scroll to the next chapter is inconvenient. As for a timer I just personally like to know given current speech settings how long the ch will take to read. The only other thing missing as far as the tts settings is pitch control but overall I’m very satisfied with the app. If things change I’ll try to edit my review to reflect that but overall I’m very happy with the product.

Wow. So, I can't believe that I'm the first person to review this, but the app is beautiful. It's clean and easy to use, and I can find the forums that I'm following/subscribed to easier on here than I can on the main site. It has everything the main site has, too, just... easier to navigate. And you can play with your account settings to change and save language, font, and other search preferences! Listen, friends, I've had an account with FFN since 2003 and I love everything about this app so far. I haven't tried to post from it yet, but totally plan to and will update my review with my experience as I go. Devs, you've done great, and you should absolutely be proud of this.

Not working at all, anymore.. Very sad to say this but the app, since the update, has not worked at all. The stories are not loading, I can not look at my setting, my favorites, any stories or search for something. The categories of stories showed but would not load any titles, just showed the book loading image. I tried reporting the problems on the app but it said I had no email linked (not true, I get emails of story updates) Then I restarted my phone, still didn’t work. Then I deleted the app and re-downloaded it and the long-in is not working now. I use a linked google account so every time I try to long in with the google account button, the request fails to load and says “request timed out”. The app works just fine on my iPad but completely fails every attempt to work on my phone.

Doesn’t load quickly. I really like the app overall, but I would like to see the app make some changes like these: 1) Please, reinstate the progress tab, button along the chapter page. I like knowing where I am in a chapter. Then I can determine if I have time to read a short or long chapter. I see it return and disappear with every update. Currently, it is not there. 2) Allow for font changes to the search pages not just on the chapter pages. I am legally blind and use large fonts and cannot read the details prior to opening the book page. It has lots of other nice features like a dark theme. Just overall control of all font sizes. 3) Since I take a long time reading chapters, when I advanced to the next chapter, no matter if it is downloaded or not, I have to close out the app and return before it can advance again. Rather frustrating and can lose where I am. I have since made good use of the bookmarks because I suddenly cannot return to the page again because of loading issues. 4) Searching would be more efficient if there were more story options to chose from. It seems a bit limited. There are my recommendations. Thank you for having the app available. I do enjoy reading these types of stories. Kiddos to al the authors out there! My hat tips to your creativity and ingenuity and frankly bravery for putting you art out there!

Enjoyable, but There are Some Issues. This app is my preferred way of reading stories from the site, but as other people have complained, when you look up stories you KNOW exist, it doesn’t always find them. I’ve had to find the fanfic, follow the story (even if I only check it intermittently) and find it from there. Notifications don’t always work either and I have to rely on email updates instead of push notifications. Now for the real teeth grinder. If you accidentally put two fingers on the screen (this include swiping a notification or just tapping it), the app ASSUMES that I’m trying to change the size of the text. Note that this typically happens when I’m scrolling through the text and causes me great frustration when I have to spend time getting it back to the exact font I want it to be in. Once these issues are fixed, I’ll come back to the app. Until then, I’ll keep using the website. At least THAT has very few bugs on it...

The app is awesome, but there’s a few things that I don’t like.. The app the amazing. It allows people to write their own fan fiction and tells readers when their tagged or written stories is updated or reviewed. The app also allows us to view other reader’s tagged stories. The best feature of all is that the stories are ordered by genre, type, ratings, tags, alphabet, etc. The app also give certain requirements to make sure writers don’t just write a few lines or so. However, there is one thing about the app I don’t like and it bothers me very much. When people tend to post links to certain things, I have to hand type and look at the page at the same time. It’s very frustrating when you have app and you can’t cut copy and past things from the chapters. I really wish that FanFiction can allow us to copy and past things .

Page Scrolling. I’ve always liked this app for the most part. My one big complaint is how I scroll through a page of stories and it eventually takes me back to the top. It used to only do this every few days, but now it does it after almost every story. It takes me back to the top and I have to keep scrolling forever to get back to the next story I want to read. It was bad enough when it did it occasionally, but it’s very annoying to do the scroll of death after each story I read! I wish the app let you click from page to page of a select number of stories instead of a continuous scroll. Give us page numbers to click through and allow us to pic the number of it takes us back to the beginning. At the very least, do not allow continuous scroll to take it back to the top. I read fandoms that have thousands of stories, so it’s basically impossible to read older stories for fandoms I’ve just discovered. Another solution would be to look up stories from a certain time period.

Great, but a little problem.(ignore problem part, just phone being weird). One of my favorite features is the download story option, its great for when you’re on a road trip or a plane ride, or just going anywhere without internet access. a few things that aren’t too irritating but still irk me are that the library button goes straight to history, and if you’re someone like me whose number of fanfics read are up in the thousands, it makes a bit of a stall before getting to the library, so maybe having the downloaded fics page load first would be better. But the one thing I am angry about, is that I CANNOT READ WITH MY PHONE SIDEWAYS ANYMORE! I am literally considering going back to the mobile websites tiny text and need for internet access. while its a little thing, I would at least like to have an option, like go into read setting and turn on orientation lock instead of no sideways mode at all. very personal problem, but it is somewhat important to me, the phone being sideways gives it more stability than I can give with one hand and lets me have a more solid grip on my phone(call me paranoid when you’re getting a screen replacement) and my case’s built in stand works best sideways.

Newest update resolved issue. Up till recently over the past couple weeks I have been unable to access this app. It would crash instantly upon opening, however after deleting and reinstalling the app the issue was resolved. Note I did have to delete and reinstall, simply downloading the new update didn’t resolve the issue. I mostly use this app simply to check recently released chapters. This app has several features that make it useful to have in conjunction with the website. For example it is easier to pull up favorited and followed stories on the app. Plus this app has the ability to allow you to search by filters not listed online. Though my favorite quality of the app is that you can search both crossovers and normal stories at once whereas on the site you can only search crossovers OR non crossovers.

Over all, It’s a decent app, but Voice Over accessibility could be better.. I like the app, but there are some key accessibility things that could be implemented. For one thing, you can’t even delete a story, and that’s something that needs to be there, because stories take a lot of space if you have a lot of them, and It’s just annoying to have stories that you already read in your library and you are unable to delete them when using Voice Over on iOS. I had to get my significant other who can see a little to delete a story I wanted to delete because I wasn’t reading it for now. You could add voice over actions for the story in the list, that’s a thing that’s possible, and this will allow someone like me who cannot see to remove the current story in the list

Love this app but one thing is driving me crazy. And it’s this: It used to be the case that when I was reading, I could navigate away from the app and then open it back up and my place would be saved, not just the chapter but it would stay scrolled to exactly where I had left it, even if that was halfway down. Sometime fairly recently, I guess in an update, that changed. If I am reading and I’m halfway through a chapter, then I take a break and do other things on my phone, when I go back to this app, it opens to the main screen with an option to go back to what I was last reading, and when I click that, I’m at the top of the page, meaning I have to scroll and scroll to find my place. Sometimes this will happen if I navigate away from the app for even a couple of minutes, like if I pause reading to respond to a text and then want to go right back to what I was reading. It’s driving me crazy largely because it didn’t used to happen. If this isn’t fixed I’ll honestly probably go back to reading on my browser because it messes up my reading experience too much, despite how much I otherwise love the app.

Alright for what it is. When reading a fic, it is a decent reader. The screen is still quite annoying because it mis-reads small scrolling gestures as a trap and changes display mode (which also pushes there text around). It really needs a screen lock option or an option to change the tap gesture to tap with two fingers to get rid of the nav bar. Also, a surprising power/memory hog when scrolling down long lists when browsing and downloading fics. After a few screen extensions my screen was burning up and went thru ~20% battery in about 10-15 min. I'm guessing it keeps every story that was already loaded in cache; after I turned off the prettier and re-loaded, the app crashed and I was at the beginning of the search again. When not doing the above, it is awesome to be able to download a story to read offline (though you continually get banners at the bottom asking you to re-connect). Better yet, it barely uses battery to display the story. All in all, flawed, but still decent. There website is still superior in several aspects, however. Bug note: since the fic recommendations are written in a different text color, they show up poorly when using the darkest background color (dark grey against black).

Love the app however..... I enjoy this app very much as both writer and reader; I enjoy it most as a writer because when I am on the go and have an idea for a chapter I almost always have my phone on me and can easily jot down my idea, where on the other hand I can say I’ve never been in front of a computer long enough to go as in-depth as I want to go, I just don’t have that luxury. However, there are a few problems, and they aren’t big, but just enough to annoy me and I have to talk about it. One, is the fact that, unless I leave the app open, say I’m almost done with a chapter but I get distracted and have to put my phone down, if I do that then it goes to the very top of the page and I have to continuously scroll to find my spot again. This doesn’t annoy me if the chapter is 2k or less but for those writers who write 5k+ chapters (which props to you guys! I love long chapters and have no idea how to do it myself) it gets very tiresome. The other “problem” and this might just be me, but I like that this app let’s you listen to the chapter, it’s actually one of my dislikes about any other fan fic apps out there. The only problem is, is the voice. I’ve grown to come accustomed to it and I know I’m asking a lot, but I can only handle so much robot. My only request is to make the voice sound a little more human.

Not very good for writing. This app is great for reading stories. Being able to save stories for offline makes it nice to have for long rides, and it has a lot of features that make it much more comfortable to use than the website. On the other hand, writing can get very annoying. The editor doesn’t automatically scroll when you start a new line, and skips all the way to the start or end of the document when trying to move the cursor to a specific point. It also suddenly scrolls up several lines when starting a new paragraph. Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon. Finally, a request. Please allow UTF-8 characters in story documents. I have been trying to use symbols, but it removes them when the story is saved.

My downloaded stories went missing. Great app, good choices for reading font but your downloaded stories gets wiped whenever you least suspected.

No-go for mobile. The mobile navigation is pathetic at best, the scroll speed is inconsistent, typing is off so it’s difficult and frustrating, filter selection choices are limited. It got tiresome after only a few minutes of use, and going off a web browser is better for all that. May revisit some time, but I don’t think it’ll turn out as user friendly as it could be.

Convenient, but Poor Navigation. It’s easy to use and convenient for travel or when you want to save stories to read offline. However, I think there needs to be a lot of improvement with the viewing and filtering system. If I go into the page that shows all of the works for a particular author, it is hard to sort the list of works (e.g. if you choose to sort by publish date then it shows all of the newest works first and you can’t view the oldest works until you scroll to the bottom) and the filter options only let you filter by fandom. This is a huge problem if I’m trying to view the works of an author that has written over 300 fanfics for the same fandom, the filtering system should definitely be improved. Also, if I select to view the works in my downloaded library by alphabetical order then I can’t scroll between sections but have to manually select the section I want to view (e.g. select A to see works starting with that letter and then having to go back to the menu and select C to view works starting with that letter). Will definitely change my rating if updates are made to improve the problems with the current system.

Problem with folders. Yesterday, the app was malfunctioning in relation to the downloaded stories and since then, the app has removed all my stories from my folders. I had over 600 stories in my folders and while they’re still all downloaded, it will be a huge inconvenience to reorganize them all.

Great app but a couple issues.. The app is great, however it’s interaction with other apps like safari has suddenly stopped after the last update. I can no longer open a fanfic in safari and use a link to open it in app in order for me to follow or favourite either the story or the artist. Further, I think having a tab system so I can read multiple fanfics at once while still being able to use my profile and access the rest of the app would be great. Otherwise I love it.

I LOVE this app!. Amazing app! So easy to use and so convenient for travelling with the ability to download as many stories as you want. Nothing compares to the feeling of a real book in your hands but this app is my go to whenever I’m just looking for something to stick my nose into while travelling. Good for all ages, just check the rating and warning before reading ;)

Original fics please. I love this app, I use it a lot, way too much. But I want an option where we can also right original fics, some people write them and just put them in random categories but it would be way better if there were a category for original fics. I write a lot, especially original stuff and it’d be great to have a place where I could publish it.

New Update. Hey. Really liked the app however this new update has major problems. Some of them being that the numbers of pages, fav, follows, words and all that as well as time updated and posted are all wrong. I mean maybe 6/10 times it will be right but it really feels like that 6/10 is wrong. Really loved its previous updates also because u could go through catergories when looking through your followed/favourites authors but now you can’t. Really do love the app but these bugs or whatever they are is really lowering the great factor of this app.

Big problem. Uh so the app doesnt work like at all… like i can go around and check my history and search things but then it just loads forever and ever…

Good app. It's a good app but the navigation feels tedious. It would be good if there was a toggle that allowed you to go straight to the most recent chapter or into the story itself instead of to the review. Along with something that let you change the size of the text for the interface

Not optimised for iPad. This app is great as there is lots of things you can do with it with an organised way but the app for iPad makes the icons and the app feel very clunky and werid. Navigating the menus with its small icons is very confusing but overall this app is very good.

I like it but..... The new update is not compatible with my iPad mini since it's an older one. Also would be good to have the private messages sync with the the desktop. I like the save search feature since there are only a few fandoms I love. And I like being able to turn off the covers to stories. And the save feature for future reading. Would give it more stars if I could update it.

Logging in continually. Great range of stories, navigation is a little tricky but once you get used to it it's not so bad. New update means I have to log in every time I open the app... I hate it. It was nice that when I was in the middle of a story I could open it and it took me straight into it. Now I have to spend five minutes trying to remember my password and then finding the story I was in the middle of all over again. Recent reads are best for that, but updated stories make it a search. Love being able to read at whatever size I like, and all the other features I've used are great.

Not good, not bad. This app is decent most of the time but there are a few basic flaws which make it frustrating. The search results are Tiny! The text for the fic list cannot be enlarged and this very frustrating. Also the filter search often skips fandoms that for a fact exist, also very frustrating. When basic searches cannot be done properly or read there’s a problem.

It's great in general. I find it nice to read on the app, the design is slick, it's easy to use and the stories are neatly labeled.

Amazing, but can get better. The app is amazing the only thing you could add is where you enter a topic say harry potter but we can also cross reference it with others say time travel and it should show harry potter time travel fanfic. Another thing is reviews can we like delete them and do more than one review. Also can we see also people accounts even though they have not posted any books so we can see what stories they liked and see if we like them too it will just encourage us to read the stories others have read

Search. Hello I love this app and all the books I was just wondering if on the next update you could add the option to add characters into the filter section of search as this was removed and was really helpful before 😊

Great App. I’ve used this app for a while now and it has proved to be reliable and easy to use. There are many great features this app brings; especially the download story feature. For all that the app is, I must commend the developers for continuously updating and evolving the app, especially after considering the fact that there is no funding from ads. As such I understand issues are still a thing. In my experience I have had issues with stories not loading even on a really good internet connection. But the app still functions well. Currently, I have an issue with the app which may be linked to the addition of the audio reading feature. I believe this feature inadvertently made is so music can’t be played in the background from another app. All in all, I greatly respect the developers for what they’ve done so far and for their continued work for the community. The drastic changes to the interface does feel weird at the moment but it is just for experimentation.

Please fix the problem with the themes.. I have somewhat bad eyesight, and rather reading on a darker background, but your last update makes that impossible. The words as far as I can tell are the same colour as the black background. Please fix, because I honestly can't read from you app as it is now without getting a headache.

Good but more sorting options would be better. I’d much appreciate a way to sort fandoms in the same way you can stories. Number of stories updated or published in the last 7 days or 3 months. Try and filter out dead fandoms with a lot of content. Likewise in the search bar, you have to search exactly what you want or nothing shows up. Maybe some kind of auto spell check or a better relevance algorithm? Or the ability to search one fandom?

Good app. Now glitchy. I’m so sad because it was such a great app but now it doesn’t work on my phone. It keeps crashing, but it’s supposed to work here. How come it’s stopped working on iPhone 6s with iOS 12. Not even that it stopped ever since I updated to the latest version and I keep updating it, thinking it’ll be fixed and I’m just so sad I can use the app anymore. It has all my fics that I like to read. Anyway, if this problem ever gets fixed, I’ll be a happy person.

Love it but there are some bugs. I love this app and how it allows me to keep track of everything I’ve read. My only problem with it is when I swipe to read the next chapter but it won’t load but when I swipe again for the next chapter it pops up straightaway. There are also times where the app freezes and I have to close it just to use it again.

Bug report wasn’t working. Hi this user Blackbird featherfall I would like to report that when every I leave the app or site the text becomes tiny again but when I refresh the page of app I go’s back to what I set it as that and for some reason it’s saying that I don’t have an email set to the account when I know thatI already have an email from my account.

Glitches. Great app, much easier layout than the online version but for months now there has been an issue with the formatting on a random bunch of stories and it still hasn't been fixed even after multiple upgrades. It would also be good if you could edit the order your download folders were in as opposed to having them automatically add one after the other or adding sub folders, its very annoying having to remember if the folder you're looking for it at the top or bottom of the list especially if you have a lot to scroll through

Great when it works (Update). In update to my previous review, most of the points still stand. However, I would like to add that if there are any issues (as every program of application is subject to), the Dev team is quite prompt to fix them. So my initial rating gets bumped from 3 to 4 stars.

Love it... but it is a power virus. Love it. Used it for years. But I was recently forced to use the web browser to read for a couple of months. How is it that I can read docs in an ad covered browser for hours on end and still have 50% charge yet now I am using the app again I am once again lucky to have my phone survive an hour using this app

Reloads. Generally, I’ve really enjoyed using this app however recently a long standing issue with the app has gotten much worse and the app is near unusable. The app has always had an issue where occasionally a chapter wouldn’t load so you were forced to swipe up and reload the app. Recently, this happens after every single thing including chapters and searches. Not to mention even after reloading, certain chapters still refuse to load so I’m forced to completely restart my device before it works. This happens on both my iPhone and iPad so I’m certain it is the app, not the device.

Needs serious work, lots of UI/UX bugs. The navigation and UI/UX could use some serious work. There isn’t an immediately obvious “Read” button in an accent colour when accessing a story. I had to tap on the story in the search results then tap again on the description to start reading a story (after spending time scrolling up and down being confused as to how I’m supposed to start reading). I also have an issue where if I navigate away from the app and back (accessing notification bar or control centre, when multitasking etc.), the text would lose its place and you would just be randomly deposited way further down the page. I have to spend 10-30 seconds each and every time scrolling up to find my place again. This basically makes the app unusable in my opinion.

This is a badly designed app. Font issue is back to normal... I will be writing a chapter and then back out of it. The word count won’t update. I have to manually save to make this the case. Why? When in the world was this change made? It never used to be like this, so why change it now? Well, guess I’m having to write the same paragraph over and over again... Apart from that ever so small gripe, it’s a great app.

Update changes. This is one of my favourite apps to read fanfic on along with Wattpad. The bookmark addition is a great idea, but not how add a bookmark. The hold on location or over a word to place a bookmark has now taken away the ability with iOS app to lookup definition of unknown words, I used the feature a lot in stories. It would be great to have both features, so hope it might be possible ina future update

the devil in the details. overall, it’s an exceptional app, it makes the process of finding and reading super seamless. there’s just little things that after a while can be really irritating. the jumping and moving when you try to scroll makes it hard to keep up to where you’re reading, and i wish you could lock the screen so the info bar stops popping in and out or you stop accidentally moving to a new chapter whenever your hand is on the side of the screen. also it can be buggy when loading new chapters that require you having to turn the app off and on again but this does happen fairly often.

A good app with a few hiccups. One of which is the fact it’s randomly gone supersize on the text and there’s no way I can find to restore default settings. Really good otherwise, zero problems until now & it’s really p****d me off.

Few tweaks.. The app is nice once you get to understand it, however I would recommend adding the feature to save your search settings in different fandoms (harry potter, naruto) I would also like a way to see notifications for updated story’s in your reading list/follow list instead of just having to remember what was the last story updated before the new batch came though.

Needs to easier to organsise. It's a good concept for the app but it needs to be easier to organise stories, I like having my books in separate folders; I personally like the way you can organise stories on pocket fiction (if you click the book you can add it to numerous folders easily)

Broken Search engine. The new search engine has been broken from what was a perfect system already it doesn’t seperate crossovers when the crossover option isn’t pressed. The search engine has also made all night mode options on my phone. if possible in the future could you please add an option to make it darker so that it doesn’t kill me trying to find what I’m after Other than that please keep up the good work while this maybe a pain to me others may prefer the new UI. Otherwise still a solid app with all the options available to the users

It is a great app but could be better. This app is great there’s plenty of things to read but I noticed there’s a few more things like fanfics I can find on the net version than on the app version when it comes to fanfics.

Good but difficult to find new stories. A featured stories page would be good (like what stories are gaining followers the fastest). And more control on the search filter, like if I want to search for something with more than 50 favs and that was updated within the last month sort of thing.

Good start. I understand this app is new and that the creators are still working the interface out which is why you got 4 stars. However, it needs to be more author friendly. There needs to be a way to reply to reviews within the app. There also needs to be a way to completely access your account in terms of favourite stories etc. It would also be good if we could change the cover picture of our stories within the app, especially for those of us who only have access to the site/app on mobile devices. Well done though with everything else.

Awesome! Better than in the browser. The last time I reviewed this app (I think it was this one?) I said something about how you couldn’t read offline or sort stuff and well, there has been quite a few updates since then lol. This is my go-to app for reading. I don’t even know what half of these fandoms are I just like reading. Anyway, one issue I have discovered (and it took me quite a while to realise because I’m lonely) is that private messages won’t appear. Completely blank. I went on the desktop version once and I had like 3 messages (which is a lot for me) and they’d been sitting there for months and I hadn’t realised. Other than that, love the app and I look forward to seeing what gets updated next. Both in the app and the stories I’ve started following... All 200 of them..... hehh........ I should probably get a job...

Love the app... but. my problem is that the text to audio has malfunctioned and I can’t get it to work even though everything is updated I’m just lucky I have the older version on my I pad The audio is my favourite thing about the app because I can listen instead of read, which is better for my eyesight as I’m short sighted and my vision is always worsened by reading. I can also listen to stories at work so I hope this gets fixed, aside from that thank you for a wonderful app. If the audio remains unworkable then I would love it if they brought back the ability to download PDF they had in the old app, so I can use a text to audio app and so I can download the story’s I love and want to keep that the writer’s have deleted for their own reasons.

Needs a bit more improvement. It’s a fine app. It’s far from the (in my opinion) superior website version and there are SO MANY places that can use some improvements. Don’t make your app adaptation a glow-down to the website versions. Make it A GLOW-UP! Make it better than EVER!!!

Awesome app. Hi, love the app, use it daily. Currently has a small glitch. I have re installed the app and it’s still happening. I have over 1000 books, and so I am always scrolling down, but at the moment if I click onto a book, read it finish it, once I return to my library the list is back to the very start. Even just accidentally clicking on a book while swiping and then immediately going back also sends it straight back to the top. This is frustrating. Please have a look. Thanks

Text to speech changes. I use iOS and I used to adjust the text to speech a lot to try and find my preferred speed etc but now I can’t find the option since iOS 14 I don’t know where to navigate the menus in setting of my phone or the app would literally be 5 stars fr me if the option was in app or I could get help with it.

It cool. It works really well and it’s great to have all the stories you like in one place instead of having to follow or favourite them. The only problem is that since the latest update it continually asks me to log in each time i open it. It’s getting quite irritating as i keep losing the fic i’m reading and placement. please fix this

Story keeps closing. The story that I am reading keeps closing to the home page, but in the ‘last reading’ tab thing, it keeps coming up with other stories that isn’t the one I’m reading. Actually comes up with stories I read months and months ago. Really frustrating because then I have to keep searching for the story in my library every couple of days or so.

Abuse and harassment runs unchecked on this platform. While the app itself is easy to use, this platform allows abuse and harassment to run rampant between users. Notably, one user has repeatedly spammed the reviews and PMs of several authors, has repeatedly evaded blocks and created dozens of alt accounts to continue bullying. Several concerned parties have email the support team over the course of MONTHS and have yet to receive a response. Given the lack of moderation and the negligence of the support team, I seriously doubt this platform’s safety.

Up until the last update.... Everything was excellent and I had rated 5-stars, but the new update means logging in everytime, even with google or facebook. This would be fine with me, except: It no longer remembers your settings, so when you close or leave the app for an extended time, everything goes back to default. I have an eyesight issue, so I have to use dark mode to read for long periods. Now I get blinded by white every time I open the app until I can change the settings AGAIN.

It’s great, but I have some suggestions. These are just two things I think would improve the site/app. First is being able to delete reviews that YOU made. I’ve made a great many reviews I regret and even a few straight up accidents, so it would be nice to be able to delete my own reviews whether it be individually by clicking on the specific review or collectively with ‘delete all’ option in settings. This could also be improved further by making it possible to edit reviews. Second would be a better filter. It’s improved a lot lately but there’s still some annoying limitations. For instance you can only have a certain amount of filters on before it fails. You can search for key words but can’t filter out key words (would be useful for avoiding tags that aren’t an actual genre, such as harem).

Once again. I’m still having problems with it logging out randomly, I’ll be reading and suddenly it takes me to the login page. I love this app and it’s amazing but this random logout is starting to get on my nerves. Also once it has logged out again it forgets everything but the favourites/downloads/settings so it doesn’t remember if I was in the middle of a story or just started reading it

Mostly Great. It keeps adding stories into the library that have been updated from your favourites, completely upsetting the order of which ones you read most recently, and you have to scroll through them all trying to find it.

Great but freezes often. I really like the saved search function as it makes it easy to find the stories you like and searching alphabetically is good to, but it freezes up a lot, which does interrupt a person when going to other stories on the site.

Search parameter. I love the app but I wish there were better search parameters. Like gay ,lesbian or straight focused pairing without searching for a specific pairing

Needs an update. So I’ve been using this fine for the past couple months. But at the moment I’m trying to open it and it just says loading loading then retry. I restarted my phone , restarted the app. Nothing.

Crash and crash again. The last update completely made it impossible to open the app…. It usually works fine otherwise, if you can ignore the fact that you cans turn to landscape to read, which is a minor nuisance. Fix the ever crashing loop guys please…. I mean, it been weeks now!!!!

Notifications. My notifications are still not working and I got a bunch of friends who are experiencing the same thing.

Great, but.... After the most recent update, it now crash immediately after trying to open it.

App Crashes. After the last update, the app keeps crashing and won’t let me in. I’m very disappointed in this, and am waiting for further updates that will hopefully solve this problem. (I’m not too sure how an update that’s supposed to fix crashes can increase the amount of crashes on an app, but that’s something the developers need to look over thoroughly.)

Overall great but a few issues. Overall the app is great. Easy to use, easy to post stuff, and all. I do have a free issues however: PMs I have to mainly do through the web as they are not on the app at all. Kinda weird but hopefully that can be sorted out. Polls are not available on the app. I love to use polls to get reader input on some things; chapter titles, one-shots, plot points I’m torn between, etc. The polls have only ever been available on desktop, but hopefully they can be added to the mobile site and the app. I really enjoy both being able to give and get input. Some writers really just need help on what they can write and being able to interact, both with the readers and the author, makes one feel more connected to the story.

LET US DISABLE ANONYMOUS REVIEWS WE KEEP GETTING BOTTED.. It’s been years and we still have no way to disable anonymous reviews, people are going around spamming thousands of reviews per story and doxing people and yet you do NOTHING.

Help. It keeps logging me of when I’m offline

Recent update. Always been a massive fan of this app, but the recent update made it so that when you select a fandom it gives you all crossovers as well, and there is no way to exclude those crossovers. It makes narrowing the search quite uncomfortable.

Update story status going haywire. the still app doesn’t show the books that are updated anymore it makes the sound but they dont pop up as updated anymore please fix, i cant tell what stories update and have new chapters for me to read! (I believe its the “updated story status” thing going haywire)

Great app!!. I love fanfic!! I would, however, like to make a suggestion, if it could keep track of what was read, that would be amazing. Even if the already read ones would highlight as a different colour.

Remote control. I usually use this app for its text to speech, worked great, but the last time I used it the pause, play functionality on my headphones doesn’t seem to work any more. This is a major irritant. Loved how I could pause a story when I needed to without having to dig out my phone. Seriously disappointed with this loss of functionality.

Love this thing!!!!!. Been using the app since 2015-6 now I think?while some bugs do pop up now and then, it’s been always been pretty fine app.

Hate this app with a passion. Love reading fan fiction but absolutely and completely despthis app. It is clunky, hard to use and adds to the stress of my life. I will be deleting the app in the hopes I can just read from the web page from now on

Love it!!!. A lot easier to use tha aid but more complicated the quotev, perfect. Easy to find fics or stories with the things I like.

Great. Been using since 2016 would recommend a few changes but all in all great app

Problem with the app.. Hello, the new update makes it so that the app closes back immediately after opening it. I’m using a iPhone 6 with a ios 12.5.5.

Login Issue. I have been using this app for years and yet now it has come to an end. Unfortunately I cannot seem to get into my account any longer as this app is still in development. At least that’s what pops up every time I attempt a login via Facebook ( As I have always done ) . Please help and I’ll consider a 5-star review.

What is going on?. My TTS skips the end of paragraphs frequently. I have been trouble shooting some user options but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix it. Is this a problem with the app? I’m using an enhanced voice and use the TTS everyday fairly regularly. It’s very irritating to miss parts of the story like this.

Update needed. Crashes in title screen. I don’t want to need to reinstall the app since i have downloaded stories

So pumped FF.net finally has an official app!!. But, as it is right now, it's almost impossible to navigate and find fics. Going to stick to using the web version for now, but fingers-crossed for future updates!

Crash and can't open the app. I update my phone and the application and i can't open anymore the application. It crashes all the time

App crashes. After last update app will not open reliably, and crashes when app is opened

glitch report. the latest update is making the app crash immediately when i open it. please fix it

old fics. Couldve been 5 stars if u guys didn't get rid of older fanfics. Can you guys bring it back, please. Theyve shaped me as a person since i was younger 💔 i miss them please

Fix. Fantastic app very grateful it’s available but it bugs out sometimes and crashes and is unable to be opened in the last it was fixable by restarting phone or deleting and redownloading annoying but whatever now however since last update my app has been crashing and nothing works all of the troubleshoots I’ve found have not worked please fix

New Update ruined the app. The recent update just ruined to app for me, just stick to the actual website since i can stay logged in on the website but the app, will log me off the moment i leave the app and its annoying to log in again every time i go on the app

Problems. It used to be very good not it won’t stop glitching and kicking me out. Very irritating.

Update App Please. I have been using this app religiously until my iOS updated and now only crashes from the opening screenshot. Please make a patch or whatever to fix the app so I can read again!

Login required everytime. Used to love it, but now the login is required everytime which totally defeats the offline functions, and is a total nuisance.

Dark mode please. Please put a dark mode to read the night

Need help with loading. Don’t know why but loading or searching. For books takes too much time. I have good wifi and the app took forever to search for fanfics when using filters pls fix

Plz. When I have the read to me on it needs to buffer before going to the next line and the old voice was better

New update doesn’t allow you to edit or write. The new update doesn’t allow you to write or edit whatever documents are in your document manager.

Bad after the update. It keeps kicking me out

Bug. Depuis ce matin, l’application s’éteint complètement et quand je la rallume il faut que je me reconnecte a chaque fois, ca fais au dessus de 4 ans que j’utilise l’application et ca ne m’a jamais fais ça.

Great!. Question: what does zombie mode do?

Won't let me sign up!!. So stupid and not worth the data!!

Just garbage. By default it has no book covers and outright has no images. The navigation and user friendliness of the app is nonexistent with many completely unnecessary layers. It’s the most awkward app I’ve ever used. To top it off the novels can’t even be divided into pages like kindle and the bookmark feature is only for chapters. You can’t put together a proper library of books you like with any level of organization, marking books read, unread or actively being read. The framework for all this is a fundamental failure in and of itself. There is no rating system. There is no way to look at a pool of popular fanfics from different sources. You can only look at a single source of fanfics (eg: Harry Potter) at a time and without any rating system you waste massive amounts of time finding decent novels. Some sources like Star Trek are under a dozen different titles and formats while Elder Scrolls is just one. When you finally pick the exact source of your fanfic you can only search a single maturity level of novel at a time. The novel word count limits only goes up to 100,000 which you can’t sort by. You can’t sort by gender of main character or by the gender of their relationships when you can already search for particular relationship pairs. It’s abrupt and unnecessary finding out part way through the story that the main character, a male, is actually gay and magically pregnant. There’s more but anyone who cares can just look at RoyalRoad’s website to see how proper sorting, searching and navigating should be done. There’s a lot of good novels on this site/app but they are massively let down by the site/app itself in every conceivable way.

Desperately need to be updated. The app is starting to be a hassle to use but I continue to try because of the convenience of downloading the stories.

Crashes. The newest update causes the app on my tablet to crash. It would be nice for f that was fixed.

Keeps crashing after recent update. Love this app so much but after the most recent update it keeps crashing immediately after I try to open it, every single time. The app was working great before that.

Ok. This is missing some stories I’ve liked from the website itself, the list for the app is smaller and the website itself bugs out from time to time making this entire thing tiring to go through. Please for the love of god, fix your everything.

Good but. Love the app but when you use the audio it’s buffers and sometimes kicks me out of the app please fix

Won’t even open.. The app absolutely refuses to open. It crashes immediately which is purely and wholeheartedly frustrating.

User experience is unfriendly, but its nice that theres an app at all.. Rating is for the app itself. Fanfiction.net, the content, and the creators are an 11/10. Love you guys. The menus and interface are confusing and unintuitive; but they can be improved. You need to brainstorm how to make the interface easier for users because as it stands its so weird that I go out of my way to just use the desktop site. Youre only getting away with it because the service is so unique. Here are some suggestions: In broad strokes, what do people want to when they open the app? Read, publish/edit/write their stories, maybe change some settings, view the forum, answer pms/notifications (nobody gets on the app to share the app, if they wanna do that theyll just text their friend the name of the app) (How come when I open the app one of the easiest options I have access to is AI?) Everything else can be categorized into these things. So your dock options (the bottom bar that you can always see) should either BE these things, or give near immediate access to them. Whichever you think is the most important goes in the middle. Options in no order should be: READ, PUBLISH, COMMUNITY, PROFILE, SETTINGS All options regarding the community, and your features which have to do with directly interacting with others should be there. Forums + forum creator (wild that these are in 2 different tabs), PMs, notifications (this should probably just be a button in the corner though), favorites/follows, friends Read: library, stories, crossover, favorites/follows Publish: pretty much the same, I can tell you put a lot of work into making this particular portion easy for the user. But add AI here. Profile: everything relating directly to the user and their work. Notifications, recent reviews, friends, alerts, profile settings (username, pfp, etc.), share Settings is app settings. I want the app to be better so people use it more and can get more into fanfiction. So apologies if this came out harsh.

Good, but one simple change.. Just work on gestures. As in, being able to swipe out of the synopsis/review section of a fic instead of having to manually press the back button. Also, maybe enable to ability to actually SEE the cover images? I spent a lot of time on mine and app users won’t ever get to see it.

Voiceover Issues Still Not Completely Fixed. Asked for accessibility issues to be fixed, not too long later got a promising update. But a lot of the issues were still yet to be fixed. But it's okay, after all I'm sure they'll adress it in the next update. Five or so updates later and I still cannot do something as simple as use the story sort filters, not to mention the screenreader fiddling with the captcha on the web so I have to reenter four times or so before I can actually publish a story. I am very disappointed in you, Fictionpress. Don't get a blind girl's hopes up that one of her favorite website's apps will actually be available for her and then not follow through with it. It's honestly kind of cruel.

My new favorite app!!!. The newly updated fanfiction app works so great! There were some initial bugs that made it crash constantly, but the new update fixed that. It's amazing! I have used fanfiction for over 6 years now, and I always hated having to go to the website to read. The app makes everything extremely easy to access and the save feature is great. I also love that you can search key words within categories and specific titles now!!! That's probably my favorite feature. It's aesthetically pleasing as well, and just as well organized as the online website was. Very pleased with this app!

PLEASE fix the “Reading History” issues. Overall, this app has been used quite a lot throughout the past few years, &I have truly enjoyed it. In recent updates, however, whatever story I am currently reading will disappear when I reopen the app, & the “Reading History” and “Downloads” are no longer in the order in which they were last read/downloaded (as the Category title would imply). This has become increasingly frustrating, & negatively impacts the functionality of the user interface. Perhaps, create a Category for “Recently Updated” instead of trying to integrate updates into our reading history?

I’m obsessed with this app. I’ve literally written just one app review and you’re reading it. I chose to post this unprompted by the app, which is a higher rarity. There’s no other writer/reader friendly apps as effective. It has both a text to speech and translator function. The interface is simple and easy to use. This app is genius. It makes both posting and reading so easy and it doesn’t hog processing speed on my phone so I’m not just draining my battery trying to feed my literary addiction! 10/10 would recommend.

Ugh. UPDATE: After trying other apps and not finding one formatted a way I like, I decided to give this one another shot. I was pleasantly surprised when all my downloaded stories began popping back up! Still a little slow on loading a story but is working again! Stories would not load, tried closing and reopening, updated the app and still wouldn’t work. I uninstalled and reinstalled and lost everything! Usually I don’t lose anything as long as it’s saved under my profile!!! UPDATE: Still isn’t loading so I lost everything for nothing, will be finding a new app

From Website to App LOVE IT. I love this app! It’s been a favorite and go to for years, from website to app I couldn’t be happier with it. I do wish there was a way to edit saved/downloaded stories easier though... specifically a way to un-download a story and stop getting their updates. Also, I have the notifications set up to appear on my home screen but they only pop up when I open the app and may pop up on my lock screen if Something updates while I’m on the app. Again, I love this app and I’m sure there are ways to get around these complaints and I’m just technologically challenged lol.

Terrible. I’ve been using this app for years, and yes, there were loads of things that were available on the website but not on the app, but I didn’t write on my phone ever so it wasn’t an issue for me. Now, I don’t know when this update came out that drastically changed the entire app because my old phone couldn’t update anything, but I downloaded it on my new phone and can’t stand it. It’s completely different and has no similarities to the original app. I have no clue how to use it and it’s not self-explanatory at all. Nothing makes any sense and navigating it is impossible. I can’t even figure out how to search to find new stories. This is horrible. I want the old app back. I can’t even use this because I don’t know how to do anything.

Could Be Better. I’ve been using this app for a few years now and it definitely could use some work. First off, we need a way to delete fics out of our library. Second, it’s super buggy. When I want to bring my last updated fics to the top, it doesn’t do it. They are scattered in with the ones that aren’t updated. Third, I really hate that when I’m finished with a fic, it stays in the same spot as the ones I’m reading or haven’t read yet. It’s impossible to separate them to make finding ones I haven’t read or am currently reading easier. With a little updating and organizing this app could be amazing.

Loved it until. Loved it until this most recent update. For iPhone users the phone comes with a nice text to speech option just swiping two fingers Down the screen. This is nice because it uses the Siri voice which is more human sounding then the text to speech provided with the app. Now when I try to use this feature it says no speakable content on screen. Now this worked up until the last week. I would love for this to be fixed as I do not wish to return to using this feature on the website because it likes to read all the ads on the screen as well. Thank you for looking into this issue.

Great app. Love this app have used it for almost a decade now. It seems to work awesome. I with it would allow more download space. I live in area without great internet connection so tend to rely on digital downloads…. I also use while working so utilize the text to speak capabilities very often. There are a few bugs with that feature including an incredibly computerized voice and with the recent update that feature is offline currently. On the whole this app is great and one of the best/biggest libraries of fanfics compiled. Relatively easy to navigate and publish works.

Needs something. I like this app better than the other FanFiction app that I have; however, I don't like that when I'm deciding to read a story there is no way to tell if the story is complete. I have looked all over the place and this seems to me the one feature that the other app has that this one doesn't. I know I can search for completed stories, but when it comes to looking at the stories from a particular user/author I can't tell if the stories in their list is complete or not. And there doesn't seem to be a filter for that (like filtering one users stories to only show complete one). I hope someone sees my review and adds this feature, that would totally make my day.

I really wanted it to be good. When I saw this app available in place of the bowser version of the site, I was ecstatic. Finally, I wouldn’t have to use my browser for fanfiction! However, as I use it, I just become more frustrated. The filter options are great and so are the visuals, but until the touch bug is worked out, I don’t think I’ll be using this app. It’s extremely annoying to be halfway down a page, trying to scroll down, just to have it jump halfway back up the page. If it was an occasional bug, I wouldn’t be so cross about it, but it happens every single time I try to scroll. Someday, I think it’ll be a good app, but until we’ve gotten there, it’s a no from me ✌🏻

I love it! Some suggestions. I absolutely love this app, as it is my number one place to read fanfiction. I only have a suggestion to make the app easier to navigate. Why not have different folders (that the readers can create and name themselves) to put your fics? Normally if I want to take a break from a story and go read some others before I gain interest again, but spend a while scrolling through my history to find it again. It would make things easier if we can make folders to set aside stories, filter through one-shots and multi-chapter stories, or even filter by franchise!

iPad users rejoice! Text scaling returns!. The app is again at or near feature parity with the mobile website, plus the addition of offline reading, notifications, and text-to-speech that sorta works (which is a bit better than none). iPad users no longer have to hold their iPads at arm’s length to read with the return of text scaling at useful minimum values, so the app is once again competitive with mobile Firefox (or your browser of choice) as a useful reading platform. Thanks, devs! The app is still weirdly sensitive to taps, though, and keeps hiding the clock when I try to scroll. Maybe next version.

Flipping Pages of Death Icon. These issues have been going on for roughly a year now: Takes roughly 25-30 minutes to show a chapter. I get the flipping pages of death icon every time I open a new chapter of a story that should already be downloaded. Closing the app or restarting the phone doesn’t seem to help. Says ‘download failed’ every time I open the app even though my cellular and/or WiFi connection is just fine and the stories show up in my downloads folder. I don’t understand why even already downloaded stories take forever to display. Shouldn’t it be almost instant? With every update it gets worse and worse. At this point the app is unusable. My iOS is up to date and I’m on a newer iPhone with lots of storage space so... not sure what the problem is but these bugs have been happening for almost a year with no fix. Also the app is so broken that even the report bug feature doesn’t work. The content in the site is great, but whoever is developing and maintaining the app is failing horribly as far as the app goes. Stop updating. You’re just making it worse.

Almost Unusable. This app has often had its issues, but has been an overall positive experience. However, in the last few updates, that is simply not the case. It seems incapable of actually displaying anything its has actually loaded. I’ll be stuck on a loading screen and force close the app. When I open it again, it’s magically there. This would seem to be a workaround, but much of the time then page I was on isn’t stored and thus not loaded. It constantly resets the sorting preferences on the library, as well. In all, this is an app that has a good framework, the menus make sense when they’re not constantly changing, but it absolutely fails to deliver and is riddled with errors like these that should be easy to find and fix. This is simply inexcusable.

Love it now. This app was my first step into anything fan fiction. Maneuvering the app was confusing at first but I got the hang of it quick ( this was probably just me being dumb though). After a few weeks of reading i thought I’d throw my hat in the ring and write something. The system to write and publish stories is simple and easy and makes writing for newbies like me a fun and non stressful experience. The only problem I have with this is that the private messages don’t show on the app so I have to use the browser version to get them. Hopefully this is fixed and it will make it perfect.

I like it but.... So title says it all, nice app with a solid user face and controls. Only thing keeping me from saying 5 stars is the small issues, such as reading history not being accurate/up to date. The biggest issue though that’s making me consider moving it down to 3 however is the fact that every time I close the app fully it logs me out and I need to log back in and it tries to tell me about the interface. I’m not sure why this happens but it only started happening recently. I doubt I’m the only person this is happening to, but even if I am can someone tell me how to stop this, because online is useless.

Amazing App but I lose my place. I absolutely love using this app! It has great stories at the tip of my fingers! I love the library usage and the folder concept! I like that the search bar is detailed down to specifics of what you’re looking for. The reason I took a star away is because I wish there was a bookmark tool to keep place of where I leave off in a chapter so that I don’t have to scroll through the chapter looking for the paragraph I left off on. I also wish the audio reader portion didn’t always have to start from the very beginning of the chapter again every time you use it, instead it should start off where you left it on pause. I hope this review helps!

Very good, but.... Can you please give us the option to edit, copy, paste and/or delete our reviews. It’s really annoying to make a mistake, like typing in the wrong chapter, and not being able to fix it. And speaking of the reviews, I can’t send mine properly. When I first hit the send button, it doesn’t send so I hit send again and it does, then when I go to look it again it disappears then comes back the next but apparently I sent it twice because I pressed the send button twice when it didn’t work the first time, please fix that issue as well.

Great app for the most part. I love this app and have been using it for years now. I would have given it five stars besides two main issues. The first is simple the little glitches the app has such as jumbling up your list, I personally read a bunch of stories at once and when they get out of order I often forget about one. My second issue and for me probably the biggest is that you can’t copy from the app. So if you come across a word or name you want to look up you can’t just copy and paste it into google. Such a simple thing that to me at least would make the app a lot better.

Decent but . . .. I find the app cumbersome compared to the actual website. On the website I can filter for *all* ratings K-M. On the app I can only filter for K-T, or each rating individually, so if I want to read any M-rated stories, I have to change the filter. If I want to the stories that are *not* rated M, I have to change the filter yet again. On the website, stories are listed by the most recently updated. On the app there are obviously stories missing (perhaps because one cannot list *all* ratings at once?) On the website, the story link changes color when clicked on – and remains changed for a period of a couple of weeks or more – making it easy to see at a glance which stories I am currently reading and which ones I am not. The app does not do this, requiring closer scrutiny of each story description, and thus more time. The advantages are: no advertisements, and is actually currently working properly while the website is not. New chapters cannot currently be seen on the website but *can* be read on the app.

Inaccessible to Blind Users. There are many things on this app that VoiceOver just reads as, "Button". Because of this I am unable to get past the first screen. Therefore I am giving this app a very low rating. If the developers would like to fix these issues, the main buttons I cannot read are all of the bottom row, as well as the buttons that show up when I click on the buttons I CAN read, such as the "read" button. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if there are any more issues with this app and VoiceOver, because of the current issues. However, I would recommend going through the app entirely to make sure everything is accessible to all of your possible users. After you do this, I will be happy to re-review your product. Thank you.

I love this app. It’s a perfect way for me to read fanfics but the amount of issues is too much. The issues used to be minimum. I could deal with having to leave the app sometimes to make something load and other small things. However, the update before this newest one completely ruined the app. I had 480 something books download and now I only have 200. Thank god my reading history was not erased but still it’s the fact that I have to go back and find all of them over again. Please fix this. Even with this problem I still love the app and will continue to use it. I just hope this doesn’t happen again in the future.

Great app except.... I love this app. I can switch back and forth between stories that I was reading (only if I were reading them in the app) and it will save my place. This is way more convenient for me since I will read several stories at once. I haven’t found a home button yet that will take me back to my profile so it’s harder for me that way to switch from story to story. The app will freeze on me too. If I by accident or purposely drop down the bar on the upper and lower screen, when I tap again to dismiss it my app will be frozen and it won’t work again until I close out completely and open it back up.

Syncing. I’ve had this app for a while, and I can honestly say that I love it! But the only thing that I think could be improved is the way the stories are synced across devices. I didn’t notice it until I updated the app and had to log back in, but any stories that were downloaded on the app were out of order. It’s not a big deal, but I really depend on the order of the downloaded stories because it lets me know what stories I’ve read and which ones I haven’t, but now, I can’t because they are out of order. But aside from this, I appreciate the fact that this app has many advantages, such as the ability to download stories and read them offline.

Okay but.... The app is great and all, but I really hate this glitch/bug that overwrites one of my docs with another one. Especially when I typed more than 3k words of hard work and time when I was at the peak of my writing creativity. Now my writing quality and motivation drops because of this. This is becoming less and less encouraging for me to rely on the app, when I rather want to use my phone than the computer. Please fix this! I’m crying because I spent so much time on my docs only for them to be rewritten. This doesn’t have a back up feature or anything, as far as I know. Seriously, I want this stupid bug to be fixed.

Stop losing my place!!!. I don’t know what you did or what you have to do, but you need to fix it so that this app isn’t loosing the chapter I’m on if the device decides to time the application out (or whatever it is that causes it to look like it’s launching the app all over except that it brings me to chapter 1 of whatever I’m reading). This is beyond frustrating and it used to work fine, but has been broken for months! I love this app and the improvements from the previous one, but this has got to be fixed and stay fixed before you do anything else with it.

Vary convenient, but.... Ok so this app is great for those who don’t have laptops or PCs my only problem is the fact that whenever I press back or save it closes the app meaning if I want to write a chapter I’ll need to do it all in one go which is bad for the story because it makes it feel rushed. Like I said very good and convenient app but there is still a big issue. . . You lose another star due to the fact that after this review even more issues popped up. I have now had to rewrite my story three times! (You will get a full star rating when this is fixed and I know it can be because it all started after the previous update.)

Great app overall. Smooth navigation, the text-to-speech bot works even when the app is in the background or the phone is asleep. Generally, this is a better app than FanFiction+ thanks to the lack of ads, no need for verification every time you open a story, and the more reliable text-to-speech bot. The only actual issue I have is that the “Dark Mode” only darkens the menus, while the actual stories remain bright white. Fixing that would make this the perfect fanfiction app.

My favorite app, when it works. I absolutely love reading on FFN but this past year I’ve experienced bug after bug and problem after problem, from logging me out randomly and almost not letting me back into my account to not letting me open my stories, then not saving my progress when I finally DO get them open, I tried uninstalling and redowoading to fix this since god knows the devs won’t bother to pay attention if I say anything (I’d know I’ve tried sending in help orders and reaching them on Twitter) but now it won’t even download anymore, not even giving me a reason why when I’ve had this app on my phone for years

Nice app but issues need fixing.. Love the app. Really useful. I do have some complaints though. Searching new stories is not as easy as the website, where you can select the different categories you want to search, but once you’ve followed a story the app makes it way easier to keep up with it. My biggest complaint is that problems that I have reported multiple times over the corse of a year have not been fixed. The biggest being that PMs don’t appear in the app, or at least no for me and notifications don’t appear on my phone unless I’m actually looking at the app. I spite of this, it’s still a good app to have.

I love it, but.... I love it, but I’m not exactly sure what happened with the last few updates because whenever I’m trying to write a story everything’s so sensitive. Such as, whenever I try to alter the way my story looks and is aligned I can never get a firm grip on it, if you understand that. I’m not exactly sure why it’s so difficult to use now, but please look into it. And now, with this whole ‘Document Life’ thing... for a sporadic writer like myself, that was pretty hard to take. Months later, I see that some of my documents have just up and vanished. Gone, like that. I feel it’s to save space and keep the app running quickly, but... I don’t want my documents to just disappear again.

Love but I have too many issues. I love this app sooooo much! I love to read stories on it and stuff but I have too many issues on here. First of all, I can’t PM. Like every time I try to send one, it says, PM not sent and I am connected to WiFi and I do have an account. Second, I cannot change my profile for the life of me. I’ve tried to google it and I go to the avatar section, I hit it and then it takes me to the image manager and if I try that, I need to post a caption and everything and I’ve tried that but it doesn’t show up on my profile. Sadly to me, these are the things that I can’t move past because i lov SYOT’s for the Hunger Games but most of them only take tributes by PM.

Good overall but a few bugs.. This app is great and I would fully recommend it if the reasons why I’m writing this review was fixed. I’ve already sent a bug report but I may aswell say it here too. The app keeps crashing. Multiple times per session while I’m using it. When it does, i have to sign back in, and then it gives me the ‘tutorial’ or how to use the app for the millionth time. Then I have to go back into the story and redo all of the customizations I have made, like font size, color, or just font in general that makes the story easier to read. This is very annoying and I’m sure other people have had this problem as well. Please fix it!

Request: Displaying Page Number. I love the app and it’s features: its dictionary, downloading stories to read for later, and renaming files. The only annoying feature is the app will redirect me to the first page of a search result after I had spent quite a while scrolling through the stories. It’s annoying to lose my place and enter random numbers on the “jump to page” to find my last spot. Please add a feature that allows the app to display the page number when scrolling through the stories. I can’t be the only reader to dig through old stories to only lose their place.

Excellent when you aren’t fighting it. This app sees more use than any other in my phone hands down. The reading experience is almost perfect, and there are ways to play with the search engine on the app that give you more options than the actual site. The main reason I’ve taken two stars though is that there are a number of performance issues and design flaws that just make me scratch my head. A random example is that the sort options for searching are strong but nonexistent for anything you’re reading. Finally this app does not handle reinstalling from a backup well. Bottom line: It’s still the best one out there. Get it

Stable but has some features missing. The app is stable and it works well UI is simple and easy to understand. I would like to see PM and documents sync to the website though. I’d like to be able to work on stories on my computer and maybe continue through the app but the documents aren’t there. Same with PMs I’d like to be able to access my PMs in the app but on the app the PMs I’ve used the website for aren’t there. These are features that should be there but aren’t. Also text to speech is very troublesome every time I use speak screen all of the chapter text vanishes and leaves me with a blank screen and the function banner at the top.

Limited. When you go to write a story, they limit much of what you can write. yea i like that they will have people review your work, but it is not helpful when I am worried about censoring what I am writing out of fear of being attacked by the editor. i MUCH prefer to use wattpad. they have more of a variety of stories, and the writers get full freedom to their works. decided to try something new with this app and it just wasn’t for me for these reasons. they make you sign a whole long thing before you start publishing about the things that they do not allow in their writings. they want all writings to be rated K which is “ok for most ages” but many people who write FANFICTION do not write it for young children to be reading, nor is any of it appropriate for these children. overall, i personally did not like this app.

Reader not a writer. I’ve been a fan of the FanFiction website for years. I also have wanted an app when it didn’t exist, always hoping but never really believing it was going to be a reality. Yes this app could use some improvements, but for me, it’s everything! After wanting an app for so long what was created here is incredibly beautiful. How everything is placed totally pleases the OCD inside lol, the interface is pleasing as well, how easy everything is and at your fingertips! I am beyond happy. Nothing is ever going to be 100% to the masses, but to me, it’s perfect.

Used to be good. This app used to be great but every update seems to either break something or remove a previous feature that I personally use. The other reviews are covering a lot of it but my two biggest issues I didn’t see mentioned are that it sometimes gets stuck in buffering mode between chapters and you have to reboot the app and that for some reason you can’t sort fics in communities. I just want to see which of the thousand fics is new or newly added or newly updated. But you can’t do that anymore. It says try a longer search phrase but I don’t wanna search anything I want to look at all of it.

Full screen. I absolutely love the app. It’s my most used app and I have no problems except the one. And even this problem is mainly user error. When I’m in full screen and I’m scrolling down I tend to click out and into it. It’s not a major problem I just get annoyed sometimes when I’m constantly going in and out of full screen. So if you could like make it so that we had to double tap or something like that to get in and out of full screen that be great. Again, I absolutely love the app. It’s my favorite app out there. If you could help me out a little though that would be amazing -thanks

Love, Seems in Aug 2018 freezing issues. I absolutely adore the app. It seems lately that the app is freezing in stories that are downloaded or not downloaded. Also it does not seem to be remembering what chapter I am reading when I close the app and open it back up to a story I was reading. Or even if I close the iPad and open it back up. No matter what freezing little issues whatever this app absolutely rocks and I enjoyed every single day. I would be happy to pay for a subscription or a standalone price To ensure the app remains constant and in excellent working order. This app shouldn’t be free without ads.

Good, but.... I love the app and this is my primary source for pokemon fanfics and also the site I use the most whenever I feel like writing my own stories. However, is there any way you could add a way to report accounts instead of just individual reviews? I ask this because a particular user has been leaving hate comments on my stories to the point where it feels like harassment. However, with the way the system is set up right now, I can’t report him because by themselves, his reviews don’t technically break any rules. I understand that people have the right to their own opinion, but authors shouldn’t have to put up with harassment from readers.

The App is so beautiful now I cried. There’s so many great features now I remember the older app was really difficult to navigate and I had to constantly restart it constantly. I got back on to read an old fic but I hate the mobile version and decided to try to log on to the app again after over a year maybe. I opened this app got the walk through and legitimately shed a tear of happiness. The changing of fonts, spacing, lighting. They layout, beautiful. The login format, seamless. Accessibility options, immaculate. It’s the app I dreamed of years ago.

Buggy. I really like the app I do but the bugs even on downloaded stories take forever to load. You constantly have to deal with stories shuffling in not only recently reading but also updated it shouldn’t be shifting in both as much as it does the only one that should be updating is the updated one the one with the clock the one with the eye should not be updating as well you can’t even report bugs on the app each update seems to make it worse the stories on the site are great but the app is distracting and frustrating you can’t even tell when you get pms from authors after you leave a review unless you go into the site itself from the internet browser I’m just glad it’s not bombarded with ads like most reading centric sites are now a days.

Why. This app. Where. Do I. Begin? I downloaded this app on my iPhone so Idk if that affects things but I’m trying to make an account but it keeps saying something something password and the explanation just cuts off. I’m gonna keep my review as one star until this problem somehow fixes itself sooooo.. Update 1: This app has been total garbage as of late. I’m trying to figure out how this app works and now it’s garbage tutorial is teaching me nothing. I came to read a story that was reuploaded onto a separate site in order to not bother the one that was reuploading but I might as well exert my rage onto the small things that bother me. Update 2: This app is still pretty garbage in my opinion but I do think that this is more directed to computer users through my experience seeing that there’s a community I was told that still exists on fanfic net so.. 2 stars for now. Update 3: I’m uploading a story so that people can find my self insert of my —— account to blah blah and yeah.. I’m reuploading my BNHA crossover so I’m dealing with tags now, how tf does fanfic net know what Dgm is and I still can’t find the frickin BNHA tag?! All above updates were made on the day I downloaded the app.

Pairing Mode. The app is great when it works. However, 90% of the time it says that I have no Favorited or Followed stories when according to the website I actually have over 2857 Favorited and 2860 Followed stories. Also, the messenger section doesn’t work at all for me. My Favorites and Followed are fixed, but now the app keeps signing me out whenever I close it so I have to go through all of the “instructions” on how to use it every time I open it. Currently the pairing mode does not work while I am trying to find a certain pairing while searching through stories.

Too strict in the wrong places. This is more of a review of the Fanfiction website as a whole rather than just the app. First off, they hit you with so many rules that you're forced to only write a certain way. People like me who use different styles or formats are wrong and they don't get a chance to write the way they want to. Then they don't let you publish or even message people for half a day after you make an account. So you have to wait for hours to do what you downloaded the app to do. And then finally, the first thing that happens in less than an hour after I got my account, I get an email from another user with a long list of "bullies" in the community to avoid. All of this has seriously disheartened my choice to join Fanfiction, and I'm currently looking for an alternative site to write my fanfictions on.

New text-to-speech needs reversed. The old text to speech was an absolute lifesaver, and the best thing about this site, but the new one makes it impossible to tell without looking if someone is talking, and that’s an absolute nightmare to deal with. I would recommend putting it back as soon as possible so you don’t lose users. Edit: also, it slurs some words and mispronounces others, seriously, put the other one back. It may be monotone, but it does have minor inflections, and is easily understood.
