One other minor complaint is that when it was working, it only displayed 3 time slots: and I’m interested in 4 pieces of data: sunrise start, sunrise end, sunset start and sunset end.

Simple and Direct. No frivolous information that distract a half asleep mind or confronts a waking mind, with needless details. Important? Yes. Why? Waking alone often in a strange place three nights per week, I want reliable, direct information about time, light, dark and basic weather where-ever I am sleeping, at home or in a 1,000 hotels for business — on the consultant’s highway, city-to-city and town to town. This app delivers.

Nice app!. I like it. Clean interface, informative, accurate as well. The circular design makes it easy to read like a clock. Now for a challenge to the developers: Add inside the wheel actual next hour dark sky rain forecast bars in a 1 hour sub circle within the outside ring and you have a 6 star app.

Cool app. This is probably the, most useful app ever for when looking for a good spot by the pool or on the beach to get more or less sun for how long. Pretty cool

Solar Watch Very Helpful. This app is great for identifying twilight (civil, nautical, astronomical) as well as sunrise and sunset at my location. It’s very helpful in making plans that require being outdoors!

Previous: hi :) I really enjoy the app and after starting the trial I decided to purchase the lifetime version, I’m getting mixed signals in the App Store indicating a lifetime purchase, but in subscriptions having both the 1.99 and 6.99 versions. Is there a way I can get some assistance with this ?

Almost perfect. I love the design and look of this app. The overlay of the info graphic data provides a pleasant experience. The only thing I wish it could do is allow me to look back on previous days.

Directions? Nothing in the app?. Just paid $10 and the app has no directions and it definitely isn’t providing me the information I expected to be simple. Use the wheel to go forward in time, but the display immediately snaps back to today when you lift off your finger. And the display on that day is not the nice list like on the current day. And how do you set alarms? Like the look, but need directions!!!!

Poor design. I’m a subscriber and would like to see twilight times for upcoming dates, but the slider on the calendar view is so tiny and sensitive that it’s impossible to choose a date and then tap on a node so you can see a different time of day (ie any time other than Solar Noon). The minute you touch the screen, the date shifts. Very frustrating. Please consider putting in a real date selector. It would also be nice to choose a different alert tone other than the iOS default alert sound.

Complication?. It’s very pretty, but I used it as one of my complications and can’t make sense of it. The graphic doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the current time i. e. It’s now 8pm on June 25 and the complication on the watch, if you were to read it like the app, would make it look like it’s the middle of the night. Maybe the complication is to read like if a watch face was superimposed on the graphic, while in the phone app and the watch app (not the complication) the current time is always straight up, like 12 o’clock or north on a compass it’s inconsistent and confusing.

So helpful. This app is great for knowing where the sun will be, the more complex answer to when it gets dark, and the home-screen widget is great. No notes!

Great App that Works. I’m a fan of this app. It’s simple and effective and doing what it’s supposed to do. I enjoy astrophotography, and this app helps me plan my imaging sessions.

Always on my home screen.. I love evening runs. Especially right before sunset so the sun is low and I can watch it slowly disappear on the horizon. Solar watch is always on my Home Screen so I can easily check the best time to start my excersise. I’m a light user of the app so the free version is totally enough for me. I highly recommend it.

Feature needed. It’s cool & useful of course! Some additional features & update will Make it even better! 1) A regular clock can be added, along with little circle of world clock with day night indications. 2) Once I select city it should be shown all time, but it disappears now! 3) My favourite 5 city time & weather can be added in any way! A useful well designed app. This app works perfectly on my Apple watch. Besides knowing the daily sunrise and sunset times. This app also gives ‘Golden Hours’ which are valuable for photographers. Support for the app is great, I had a question and the developer answered the same day.

Most of the app is a box asking for a subscription.. SolarWatch used to be a great simple app. Now every button leads to a box that begs for a subscription. Pop-up ads are obnoxious (must wait 5 seconds to close). Wouldn't be surprised if the ads devolve into more money-making scammy-type game ads with a 30 second wait time. All to check when the sunset is! A great idea is if developer releases a basic app with no cruft like that augmented reality, no grifting, and no annoyances for a couple of dollars.

They took away the main reason I was using the app. I was using this app mainly to have a widget on my phone with the sunrise and sunset times and it was a great free option until the company removed all free options for having a widget on the homescreen. Going to have to find a new app to use now. Pretty disappointed.

Truly impressed!. Really stoked about this app. Would be willing to more immediately pay money for it if I knew for sure that the solar events included an automatically shifting notification at dawn and slightly before golden hour.

Stupid and broken app alert!. Stupid and broken app alert! These people can’t design an app to work right - the app gets hung up on typing in the fields of the app features tour right there off the bat! Only a reckless developer overlooks something really obvious and basic as factoring in keyboard input and the “next” button! No offense intended. Love you guys for make a free app just don’t be stupid about it and go and put to use a really great concept yet only to dig your own grave. Not smart!

Good app for the basics. My needs are very simple - sunrise sunset times. The app is great and the dial is pretty. I like spinning the dial to see the different sunrise / sunset times.

Sell Outs. Really enjoyed the app until you started pop ups. Banner ads are one thing I can ignore pop ups on every open even from the background is a tad much. Hate to say it but fix it or good riddance.

No longer functions. after years using Solar Watch on my iPhones, the application failed. It only provides a static screen. I’ve uninstalled, checked app setting in System Settings to no avail. Zero functionality. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled and have an active subscription. $10 down the tubes. Do NOT pay for this service.

Nifty app, but not much of an alarm.. Is there a way to make the alarm sound more alarming? I want to try to wake up with the sun, but the single tone notification doesn’t always do the trick.

Dark Spot on Home Screen. Thought about payment of this since it’s been great but the recent update fails to impress. Although it’s working okay when I click on the widget showing up as a blank black spot on my Home Screen is a no sale for me.

So many ads. Hard to use anymore. The developer is clearly now just going for full on monetization on this app. It used to be a great app but now it’s riddled with pop-ups pushing you to buy a subscription. I’d pay like 3-10 dollars maybe once for this app but that’s it. Also seems like they’ve removed the ability to toggle into the view for “time until sunset”. Sad the developer has decided to go this direction with it.

Default location is Antarctica. I purchased the annual subscription because i gauge my work by first light and sunrise, which this app showed accurately and effortlessly on my part, on previous Apple Watch. Watch malfunctioned so Apple sent a replacement. Now the watch won’t show Los Ángeles settings for anything. Instead it showssome undisclosed place where first light is at 9:05PM, sunrise at 9:40PM, where the sun sets at 9:44AM and last light is at 10:19AM. Are these the Solar details for Antarctica or the Arctic circle? Who gives a -_*#? Apple says they might only license the subscription to one Apple Watch and my replacement might need to be taken up with the developers. I went to the App Store to reach out to the developers only to get a message saying thewebsite linked to the app might be acting as SOLAR WATCHto steal my personal or financial information and i cannot reach out to them. So i guess i am poo-poo out of luck and this is a loss all around.

One of my favorite apps on my watch. I like the look of the middle watch complication where I can see the three next events I have chosen to view. I wish it had the temperature in the center circle. The number would be small, but nice to see the temp at a glance from this app too. Version 1.28

Garbage. This app doesn’t really have a free version and the pay version is only by subscription. I was looking for a replacement for Solar Dawg which is discontinued. I would gladly pay for that so I could install on my new phone. I could not figure out how to work this app and clicking on ? only brings up the purchase nag screen. Not for me, that’s for sure! I found another app called Sun Surveyor that does everything I wanted and much more. The free version was so fabulous that I bought the paid version!

Favorite New App. Had a question for the developers and they responded within minutes with a solution! Amazing interface, amazing customer support.

Alarm on paid version does not work.. Started free trial with the expectation that an alarm would sound at first light. Appears as though a push notification was provided, but no actual alarm. Perhaps my misunderstanding, as I define alarm as something similar to the alarm clock provided in stock iOS. I’ll likely use the app to manually set my own alarm.

Another Update Needed. I love this app enough to have paid for it. Unfortunately it seems like Apple’s recent update to the watch messed with the complications. There is a “Sunrise & Sunset” and also a “Sunrise/Sunset” complication. The former shows up but the font does not fit within the small circle of the complication space. The text of the time is cut off. The latter does not display at all. In the Apple Watch app on iOS it shows the complication with the sunup/sundown arrow and the time (I love this presentation), but the complication doesn’t actually show up at all on the watch itself. Hoping for a small update to fix what apparently Apple broke.

Good App. I use this app with Shortcuts and would appreciate being able to have current location as a default in Shortcuts. I am running a Shortcut that calls for the current location twice. Need to manually input it. Makes for a slow running Shortcut. Thanks for a very useful app.

Disappointing. You add favorites but there is no way to put them in any order at all. Favorites from phone don’t show on watch, as the app says, and No ability to add them on the watch. No help in the phone app. Two stars because it does what it says on the phone app.

Notifications issue. I subscribed to get notifications but its not working at all , i set them and enabled them but nothing worked , I deleted the app and installed it again and set the notification again but that didn’t fixed it , i then installed the app on my iPad and hoped the it will work but it didn’t, hope this can be fixed , and i hope to see all twilight times for the day in the Apple Watch App

I dislike misleading apps. I really dislike misleading apps. This app’s free version is useless other than basically telling you sun up and sun down. All the useful features are locked for the Gold subscription. Like the mapping function and AR mode. I don’t mind that developers want to make money on their creations but at least be honest in you app description. The only things listed about the subscription plan is setting alerts for various conditions, something I would never do anyways.

Setting alarm. I installed this Aplication and I need help to know how to set alarm to hear a music or other ring before sunset in my iwatch. Thanks a lot. I am glad with this app. I only need a help

Good, but..,. Love the app but the widget is glitchy. Will suddenly just go blank on the Lock Screen with lines & no data. Need to delete & re-add several times before it will work again. Very annoying.

Widget Not Customizable as Advertised. Widget says you can customize the shown times in the “main app settings” but there are no main app setting except for alarms. I tried their FAQ and the only information available is links to Wikipedia articles about what various solar phases are. The developer website is only a webpage with the developers email addresses. Wish they had maintained effort on this app!

Love the app & it's widget!. I'm an early morning runner and love being able to see the stats in the morning. Also, it's widget is so cool to reference throughout the day!

Amazing solar following app. I’m a black swan Mitochondriac and I use this app to follow the sun at all times of day. The features are great and the support directly from Engin is 👌 top notch.

Golden hour at a glance. Granted, the golden hour is easily guessed from sunset/rise times, which are tucked away on all weather apps, but what a pleasure to find these, as well as the crepuscular hours, at a glance in this attractive app. Kudos to Engin Kurutepe for his ingenuity, elegant design sense, and color harmony.

Awesome app and support!. This app is perfect for any event you need to know about times for sunlight. Perfect for photography and the curious. Setting alarms is great because you can set them to alert you before the event actually happens, giving you time to prepare. I love that, especially for getting great photos during golden hours. The support is amazing, too. The developer worked with me on an issue, troubleshooting and even made a new version for testing. Turns out, it was just the typical reinstall of the app that was required, like so many other apps I’ve had. But his patience and dedication were above and beyond what I ever expected. Awesome!! Thanks again!!

Perpetually useful. I have had this app for years now, and constantly return to it for things as simple as “when’s a good time to walk the dogs“; I have life-long difficulty with time telling & this app has been a great aid. Having lived everywhere from northwest Montana to coastal South Carolina just knowing when it will be dark out has been helpful. Additionally this app is for some reason amusing, or fun to look at or something relaxing/appealing.

Great Concept Marred by Bugs. SolarWatch boasts an exciting concept with its unique features and niche appeal. However, the execution of the Apple Watch compilations has been rather disappointing, leading to an unsatisfactory experience. The app is riddled with bugs which result in numerous inaccuracies - displaying wrong events at incorrect times and locations. This has significantly reduced the usability of the app and prevented me from utilizing it as I initially intended. What's even more frustrating is that these issues have persisted despite recent updates, which if anything, seem to have exacerbated the problems rather than rectify them. If these bugs were to be addressed and the app functioned as promised, I would easily rate it 5 stars. The concept is unique and has immense potential, but its current state of operation is simply not up to par. I hope to see substantial improvements in the future versions.

Ineligible interface. Impossible to read night time text and symbols. No contrast. Look at screenshots to preview. It’s muted blue pale text on muted blue background and in addition tiny & miniscule . Would have been useful app with good info but interface design and colour scheme makes the app completely useless.

Great App but with a few bugs. Not sure why the the date on the sun’s trajectory curve is always incorrect? Hopefully on their list of things to fix in a future update? Maybe only incorrect in the Southern Hemisphere? We’re always overlooked!

New version is terrible. The previous app worked well on the previous Apple Watch and IPhone, but the latest version is terrible. It’s confusing, lacks the ease of use of the previous version and has a lot less practical functionality.

Good app. The app is very good. The UI is tidy. Only real issue I’ve had is the Home Screen widget sometimes falls out of sync with actual time for an unknown reason. Just gets stuck at some point on the dial. Not often but has happened 2 or 3 times now, so doesn’t seem to be a fluke. Unfortunately not easy to reset it. Clicking in to the app and back out again nor closing the app seems to work. End up having to restart my phone to reset it. Bit of a Wishlist item (and maybe not a feature the devs are interested in) but it would be great if you could set a proper repeating wake up alarm using one of the defined solar events (eg. Nautical dawn or sunrise). I’ve always wanted to try rising with the sun but is a bit of maintenance to reset an alarm as the solar time changes clock time. The single alert alarm the app provides is not enough to wake me up. Thanks for a great app.

iPhone info not on the watch. I am searching for any app on the watch that give me the civil/nautical/astronomical period. This app do an excellent job on iPhone, but in the watch it’s another story :( Edit : thank you for your answer and your commitment to improve the app. Take care 👍😊🌸

Wants a Subscription. Garbage.. As usual the app wants a subscription to be useful. Promptly deleted and 1 star review. Stupid developers need to just sell your app and people may use them.

Glitchy on Watch. Wanted to purchase the app but it’s been really glitchy on my Apple Watch. The solar time ‘complication’ frequently displays the wrong time. Sometimes restarting my Watch fixes it but not always. Otherwise it’s a nice app with a lot of good, useful information displayed well.

Horrible. Zero stars This is the ugliest and most useless interface I have seen. Hard to read, no over view for planning for a future date & way too many ads Tried for a week, deleted it - useless

Great app for planning. Highly recommend this app. I do have a question for the devs. What happened to the complication on the watch with OS9? Really depended on it. Hope it comes back soon. Apple watch not updating. Amazing App, loving the info and It is exactly what I need. Just have, from a couple days ago to now, a small bug. It doesn’t update the info on Apple Watch. Is like it got frozen in time a couple days ago.

Really great!. I’ve had this app for some time now and recently experienced a bug with new watch and iOS updates. I contacted the developers and they were super attentive and fixed the issues right away. In the meantime I tried some other apps and they weren’t as good or displayed information in a way I liked, so I highly recommend this one especially as one of your watch complications 👍🏽👍🏽

Excellent. Simple, User friendly, visual appeal throughout the app, the list goes on. This is just a great app. No “Subscription” or “Trial period” ? Just a simple, cheap, optional 1 time upgrade for a few more bells and whistles, but the core app is very much a ‘full version’. That; is something I truly appreciate.

Functional, beautiful, clean. I can't think of anything I'd change. It's quicker than my favourite weather app, and I use it more often. I use the iPhone version and the Apple TV version. I love both.

Dodging the paywall. I feel like this app is a game where I have to not touch anything in it because it wants me to buy premium. Please just used some sort of ad service . I don’t want to pay to set an alarm just make me watch an ad to do it

Off-line use disappointing. I like the simple straightforward way it presents information, but I have an extreme problem with off-line use it will not allow me to access my presets or to manually enter in longitude and latitude or to save those to presets when I am offline. Example if I do not have access to Wi-Fi or cell tower and the GPS is on I would like to be able to save that as a present and then access it later but currently I cannot save that to device while off-line.

Misnomer. It really only gives you the current day it does not give a larger picture of daylight. Definitely not right for folks in higher latitudes.

Love the widget. Gives me a better idea of how much of the day I have left

Buggy. I can no longer read the date in the centre of the circle because the font is too large...

Restore the Widget. Since the update to iOS 16 the widget has become cluttered and useless. You're trying to do too much with golden hour, solar noon, etc. Just go back to first light, sunrise, sunset, last light. You had it right the first time, but messed it up with the iOS 16 update.

Close to useful. Great app idea, but it misses the mark in being useful because the time grid is too sensitive to be able to do the simple task of accurately controlling which day and time you want to look at sunrise and sunset

Not localized for English. Right when the watch app launches on an English language system, the first text is German, “Städte”

Simple app that does one thing well. The watchOS 4 complication is particularly good, much better looking than the built-in one.

Dear sirs of the app. This need to give a little bit more than it does. Barely anything to work with as far as information put out. We should not have to buy the upgrade to get a little bit more than just the times.

Zero Stars. Very literally useless. This is the most pointless app that I’ve seen. I put in a location, and it gave me a black screen with some angled lines and number that were so jumbled that they were almost illegible.

Not working. I bought this a year ago and it was super but now all functionality is gone. So bummed

Location services flaky. The app doesn’t handle location services and fails to update on iWatch

Now with ADVERTISEMENTS! 😕. Have Had this for several years now and just opened it to a 15 second ad. Maybe time to find another sunrise/sunset app.

VR useless. Everytime you want to use the VR feature the app crash and a Error message appears

Just what you need more if you want. Sunrise to sunset graph is cool. Easy to customize.

Solar Noon Time. Appealing graphics, intuitive and gives latitude/longitude and time sun is highest in the sky (solar moon), so you know when afternoon begins.

Widget. The app is lovely, but the widget does not update itself. It gets stuck on a certain time and will not update until you restart your phone.

Yearly. Would consider a one time purchase, but never a yearly subscription for something this basic.

It deserves a zero star rating. Just a scam.

Not working. Just paid for lifetime access… as soon as I did on my iPhone 12 I try and use it and it gives an error saying “Required sensor failed.” So AR functionality is a no go.
