Amazing!. This is amazing. The layout /UI is Unique and powerful. I’ve only used the free version, but it’s still a good app. 1. Everyday I login to get myself 1 more free picture. 5. There’s a really cool color wheel to choose your colors from, however it still feels kinda limited, especially the Reds, as it’s like a little blip on the wheel but blue has what feels like half of the wheel. (The paid version has a weather color wheel, so it cycles through weather palettes, but it still doesn’t look like it has more reds) 2. There are countless Artists and each of them have a free drawing. 3. There are a few categories at the top of the design that are totally free. 4. One of those categories is simply a “free” page, where you can draw whatever you like. 6. Once you finish a drawing you can put it on the gallery, but that doesn’t mean you have to delete it to recolor that piece! You can duplicate it and start over and have fun experimenting with different colors! However, that’s one point where I’d like to see improvement. It’d be really awesome if we had access to a ‘black pen’ which sections off our page like the real artists do. I also would like some amount of Opacity control, though that one isn’t super important simply given the style of the app.

I love the app but I had wishes. I wish that you didn’t have to buy the entire app like every single artist I wish that you could unlock certain artist art I love the art from some of the artist on the app and I just feel like paying for the entire app would just be a waste of money for me that’s why I have been so hesitant about doing it I would if all of the art that was on the app fit the style that I liked to color that I liked to interact with but it’s just not please make it a feature to subscribe to certain artist on the app that way you can color all of their art and not have to worry about paying for art that you’re not actually going to color I love this app and it is the only app that I have found that is amazing and really stress relieving I love the feature of getting free art every day but there are some artist that I would like to color I just can’t see myself paying for the entire app

Love Lake. I absolutely love this app. I was recently gifted an iPad and Apple Pencil, and was looking for an app for coloring/painting/relaxation. I’m not a skilled artist myself, but wanted something with more creative options/functionality than just color-by-number. I tried out several other apps before finding Lake - none of which really offered exactly what I was hoping for. This is perfect. I love knowing that the app gives a platform to independent artists, and there is so much variety in their styles. The app is interactive in a lot of engaging ways - like the journal, studio, and coloring books you click through to open the pages, almost like gifts. I will definitely purchase a subscription and use this all the time! Very happy I found Lake!

Why did you have to change?. Lake was a great app. It was recently updated and the for what it’s worth, the interface has changed for the better. However, things they said would not be taken away from you if you subscribed (even for a month) have now been removed and hidden behind their monthly sub fee. Now, if you do not finish your painting and your sub runs out, the painting now becomes locked until you resubscribe. Same thing with collections that were previously free, such as Spoonflower. The amount of free paintings is now dramatically reduced as well. Overall, I’m disappointed. If I could buy collections or even artist books that would stay unlocked as long as I purchased them, I would in a heartbeat. As it stands now, paying $8 a month (or $60 a year... what a _steal_) is a ripoff if you’re just going to take away everything from me if I can no longer pay the fee.

Don’t even bother. I got a free week trial from Lake and I’ve been trying it out. Coloring isn’t actually that easy in this app unless you have a stylus or pen to go along with it. I’m on an iPhone and in order to tap to fill a color in I have to zoom in all the way so my finger doesn’t accidentally hit something else. On top of that, I have to scroll with both fingers to move he canvas and it’s a hassle. Sometimes my finger will hit another part of the canvas and fill it in on accident. This app is more frustrating than relaxing for me, but I’m sure I can chalk that up to being on an iPhone. Let’s also not forget about the $40 subscription fee, which in my opinion doesn’t even seem worth it. I think this app would benefit from a $5 month subscription rather than an annual, and there is no way I’m paying $40 every year for this.

Best Coloring App in the Galaxy. Ok, when I first downloaded this I thought it was going to be like a color by number or one of those apps that stress you out. BUT THIS ONE takes in mind of the user by all the ways you can pick any color, GO BACK, have your own color palettes and see what colors you used last, and A WHOLE COLOR WHEEL. On top of that, there is the most SATISFYING coloring texture and sound!! And THE WAY YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT COLORING IN THE LINES BECAUSE YOU CAN SELECT A BOX THAT MAKES IT SO YOU CAN COLOR WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT THE LINES!!!! AHHHH!!! Best feature on this app!!!! Not like those cheap apps but REALLY thought out and mindful ❤️❤️❤️❤️ more people need to know about this game and I would recommend yalll add some like slow piano music in the back as an option 👍👍 THANKS FOR MAKING THIS GAME!!! I play it all the time 😉

Innovative tools, better art than most. The tools are cool. A bit like a certain well-known photo editing program, you can choose brush size and type. Lake allows a truer coloring experience than most of the “tap to fill” coloring pages do. You can really express yourself with their coloring tools. The color palette is a mixed bag. I like the way it's set up for the user to select colors from. Sort of like a cross between a digital palette and a Pantone swatch. At first, the color selection seemed amazing. But after you do a few pictures, you begin to feel limited. There are no bold colors, no "true" colors--that is, there's a carmine red but no cherry red. I’d like to see a wider range of color availability. After giving it much thought, I became a subscriber. The quality of the art is what sold me, but I’d like to see more artists added more frequently.

Really love the app, there could be some improvements. I love using lake. I’m not an artist but I love being able to relieve stress while colouring and I’ve felt very proud of some of the pieces I’ve finished. I use the app on my iPad but also have it on my phone and have found that they don’t sync well even though they upload to my iCloud. Also there doesn’t seem to be a place for me to turn off the starting sound. I think there was a way to turn sounds off with the older versions of the app…maybe I’m making this up but I have to turn my volume all the way down before starting the app if I’m in a very quiet place like a library. Last one - I wish there were more options for mood for the daily journal. I’ve often felt “tired” or “neutral” or “cheeky” yet these haven’t been present as options and I’ve felt disappointed by the Color palette. Please, please, please add more options for mood beyond the 12 that are there. Other than that, I love the app and highly recommend!

Can’t do anything unless you pay- a scam basically. I get that when you make an app you need to make money. I get unlocking some of the stuff unless you pay for it, or watching adds very once in a while. But this app is RIDICULOUS. I got it today and started on a mood journal, where you put your mood and it gives you colors to go along with it. It was fun and the whole design was cute. Once I’m done I try to find other things to color. Turns out, they have tons of coloring pages but only 19 are unlocked. Out of at least a couple hundred coloring pages, you only get 19. That’s about 10.5 percent at the most. You can lock even half you drawings for the free version and that’s still more reasonable. Or lock only a few but then you have to watch an ad to get the rest of them. Ads make money, developers, the thing you want so bad is not that hard to get. I guess it’s ruin the whole calm feeling of the game, but you can’t even get hat. I thought, “well, even if almost all of the coloring pages are locked I still have the mood journal.” No, you have to pay for that too. Also, you can only free draw with premium. I love how the game is set up and it has a lot of potential, but you can’t make a game free and then only let a tiny portion of it actually be free. I get locking some things or using ads, but I can basically do nothing on this app. If you’re reading this, don’t get it unless you’re willing to pay Premium.

Just okay. I purchased a year of Lake because it was slightly less expensive than another popular coloring app. I wish I would have just paid for the other one. My complaints can be summed up in one word: underwhelming. There are not enough colors. You can only pick colors from a preset series of palettes. There are not enough brushes. You can pick from two brush types, a fill setting, and a spray setting. There are no blenders. There is not enough variety in artwork. The artists seem to have similar styles. It’s hard to navigate within an artists’ works. If I like an illustration and want to see more from that artist, I have to navigate back to the art menu. I can’t search for their name. The app itself works well. It looks polished and artsy. But for someone who truly wants to create art, seek another app.

Needs improvement. I think this app needs improvement I think it is a really good app for like coloring and I am very very picky person about apps but it gives you all the supplies for coloring that you need to like make use of successful but they do they have to make like what I don’t like about it is that they have make you wait till like I could draw something they have to make you wait 25 minutes to wait to draw another thing and it’s very creative app but I wouldn’t recommend getting it because of like a lot of glitches and it’s gotten like whenever I try to zoom out it starts coloring and then it gets really annoying so yeah and that’s why every day of three star so yes if you don’t agree with me it’s OK but this is just my opinion everyone else has other opinions and I respect that but this is just my point of you and yes I certainly do love the app I am as I said in the beginning I am a very picky person about apps and I also love how creative this app is so without other to say everything’s a three star hopefully it gets better with the app and I can read a five star sooner or if not but yes thank you for letting me respond to your app and yes hopefully you respond and fix or you don’t have to fix for me but it’s OK

Overpriced app world. Another app pantomiming for your well-being but needs you to fork over copious amounts of money. Do free versions truly even exist anymore for any apps? In order to just use a color book, I need to pay a company? For digital coloring? After a few weeks, this company like many others will have their app basically lose all its performance and functional quality in a stubborn standoff to get you to pay for their app. My “art” isn’t being saved and whatever free options that are available are growing smaller and smaller. Maybe this companies should just only offer free trial instead of parade around like their app is usuable without purchasing it. It’s a nice app but none of them are really worth the annual pricing that all of them demand. You can get more out of console games and an actual coloring book✌️

Great, but crashes a lot. ⚙️iPhone XR user, software completely updated 🆓PREVIOUS FREE VERSION USER🆓 👍Pros: I did unwind while drawing (in the first 3 minutes) Variety of brushes, sizes, colors, and drawings Line guide can be turned off/on Lets you type it out and identity how you feel Color variety (shades, tints, set rainbow, plus given palette) Pretty easy to figure out, didn’t take long AT ALL No internet needed Airplane mode compatible 👎Cons: Crashes,,,like every 5 minutes of usage 🤨 This would make me lose a range of progress per drawing, the most I lost was the same 1/4th or even half, in 5 different time periods. Nothing running in the background either. Would lead to a frustrating experience, uninstalled like 12 hours into having it in my phone because of this 😩 The brushes are honestly a little too odd for me, I stuck with the fill in tool The fill in tool can ignore some lines??? Like huh? One journal entry per day 3 extra drawings per day (I think, I didn't keep it long enough) 📔Journal: Around 5 faces you can choose (sad to happy) Adjectives for why you feel this way, no max 2 drawings you can choose only 1 Color palette given to you You do not have to follow said palette When finished, it lets you look back at your older entries It also lets you type out whatever you want in an entry You can go back and edit what you typed and colored, but not what drawing, the adjectives, and smily face

Interesting, but can be improved. The interface and art in the app are two very unique and fun things about it. However, it seems this app is more “freemium” (leaning more on the “premium” side of that word) as you only have access to a small handful of drawings at a time. It doesn’t help that a lot of the free drawings are fairly simple and don’t take much time to complete, while the payed drawings are the more intricate ones. As someone who doesn’t have much money, this makes me a little sad. I have such limited options and no way to fix that. Another problem I’ve encountered is that while you CAN adjust colors to your liking, there’s no way to up the saturation on colors. You’re stuck with pastels or muddy, darker versions of colors. If I wanted a nice rich orange or red I’d be out of luck! So, some suggestions: 1) I’m not saying get rid of the pay wall, but maybe make it so that people can watch a certain amount of ads to either unlock a specific drawing or unlock certain collections. 2) Make it so that people can finally adjust the saturation on colors. I will say, if anyone reading this review has the money for a membership and is willing to spend that money: PLEASE DO! It’s a beautiful app with gorgeous art and the artists who drew all this art deserve so much love!

Hoped it wasn’t like this, but it was.. I’ve used a lot of apps. About 15 of those were this type of thing. In every single one, I’ve found that you can’t do anything for free. Sure, in this one, there are a few free paintings You can do. But for me, there were only 9 free paintings. NINE! And none of them looked interesting. The only reason it wasn’t a one-star was because I liked the feature where when you were coloring it wouldn’t let you color outside the lines. Another annoying thing was that pretty much everything was locked if you didn’t have premium. Want to change the intensity of your color? Pay us for it! Want to make your own drawing? Pay us for it! Want to color something other than the nine canvases we’ve selected for you? Pay us for it! It’s so agitating. Had potential, but it was ruined with premium.

Always evolving, never gets old!. I love this app, for so many reasons. It is very user friendly, and easy to figure out. The artwork is amazing! It’s all so different, and I think that makes it very well rounded. There’s something for everyone, and they’re constantly adding new artists, which keeps you from running out of things to color. I’ve used both the paid version, and the free version, both are great. I do enjoy getting a bigger variety of colors and access to MORE artwork in the paid version, but this is not at app that loses its appeal if you don’t pay for it. And both versions are gloriously ad free! The creators are awesome if you ever need to contact them for support, but also just in encouraging you to share your creations on social media, and I’ve even had a few of the artists reach out and leave comments as well that they liked my pictures, etc. Its just a really well made app that runs smoothly, and has become an essential part of my “unwind routine”.

Great App UPDATE. Update: Like I said, below, I love this app! It’s been a great stress reliever! And yes, it IS shareable with my family (my daughter loves it too). The drawings are wonderful and varied, the tools are fun and flexible, and I love that the subscription also goes to the artists. And there’s more! Their tech support is amazing! Highly recommended I love this app and so does my kid. I bought a subscription thinking we could share it, tje way we do many other apps. But after a lot of back and forth with Apple support, it turns out that we can’t share. No, actually, I can share the APP, just not the subscription. That was confusing to me, I would probably not have purchased for myself, had that been clear in the store. Otherwise, it’s a great app with the added benefit of supporting talented artists

At first, nice. At first, it is a nice app with very interesting and unique features, but it is a very glitchy app. I found a lot of the images were only for premium. I also didn’t like that whenever you wanted to save an image to color the next day, it lost all of your colors that you created on the color wheel. It was also a little disappointing that some of the brushes didn’t show a lot of texture. My biggest problem with this app is that after a couple of days from downloading, it kicked you out after a couple of seconds no matter how many times you try. I would be so happy to try this app again if you fixed this bug/error, but until then, I feel as if I have no use to spend my time on this app, or at least trying to get it to load. Don’t feel bad about this review, I am just very picky about apps and all of their details. I notice a lot of things about them, so again, don’t feel bad. Again, I would be so happy if you fixed the bug. In the beginning it is a lovely app and it might just be my device, but my phone is brand new.

Versatility. I love this app. Color in from fantastic real artists, or create your own. This is so much better than any coloring app I’ve found so far. You can fill each space, but you can color outside the lines with any width with a paint brush, artist brush, spray can OR the fill bucket. You can also prevent coloring outside the lines, or mix it up. I would happily pay for this app if it were affordable. I support artists with my money, especially local; but on our end, it’s still an app. In a world filled with digital subscriptions one begins to realize that they add up and quickly, so I reserve mine for work or the very special. This one IS very special, but too much, especially since I can’t indulge in it daily with demands from kids, work, aging parents, and community events. For me, for a pleasure app, even if it supports a cause I believe in, the most I would pay per year is $40; and that would be if it were my absolute favorite. One suggestion would be to add a purchase option to buy by the each. Then, the people like me, who love the app but are busy and careful about digital spending, could purchase as I have time to use it. I could color one or two at a time and get more as I go. Thank you for the superior app.

Great coloring app but various new bugs?. I used to use this app all the time, and forgot about it for a few months. I tried a few different coloring apps and this was the only one that stayed on my phone. That being said, I came back to it recently, colored for a while and when I locked my phone to do something else, 90% of the progress I made over ten minutes was gone and the picture was nearly blank. So disappointing! Later on, I was going through pages I started but never finished from a long time ago. I clicked on one I wanted to complete and it turned black. Like every section. I selected hot pink and clicked a random spot and it filled it in, it literally just filled all the spots with black and I took forever layering colors in that particular picture. There was no undo button either when it first turned black, there was no going back from that. Super disheartened that my experience coming back to this app is dusted with disappointment when this used to be one of my favorite apps.

One of my favorite apps! (However there are some things to fix). This is a wonderful app. I really, REALLY love coloring the beautiful artwork produced by amazing and unique creators, however I have only been able to color 5-6 drawings. I believe you should add more drawings that don't have the Premium lock. Dont get me wrong, your pricing for premium is extremely reasonable, and I would 100% consider getting a subscription, but maybe open up more drawing pages for those who maybe dont have the funds for an online subscription. It doesn’t have to be alot, but more than what we have currently as non-premium users. Thank you a bunch if you bother to read this!

Was Worth Every Penny. Edit: There are some bugs and issues with the new version that I hope can be worked out soon. Social media sharing doesn’t interface well, the app frequently clears the active coloring when saved to the gallery, and there’s no way to edit a piece that’s already in the gallery. The new interface is good, but these issues need to be solved to restore it to its previous rating in my mind. Previous review: I played around with what I could access for free for a bit (which is quite a lot!) before deciding to subscribe. It may seem like a hefty price tag for an app, but I’ve been following a lot of these artists and illustrators on Instagram, and watching their artistic journeys make it worth every penny of support. I’m all for supporting artists without reward, but when the reward is a really well-made app with intuitive controls and endless possibility, that’s hard to resist. As a try before you buy person, I did really appreciate the free content and how it felt as representative of the whole product as it could be - it really lets you sink in before you take the subscription plunge and best yet - no ads! I’ve been using it on my phone and while I might prefer a stylus and a bigger screen (and less skin oil smeared across my screen), the controls don’t feel compromised at the smaller scale, which shows forethought in its design.

LOVE THIS APP SM. I saw lake while I was scrolling on the App Store looking for coloring apps. Lake has a coloring journal that I love very much because it makes a color pallet based on my mood! I love how in the coloring journal you also get to choose the photo, but the BEST PART is THE FACT THAT I CCAN USE MY STYLUS ON MY PHONE FOR LAKE ACTUALLY COLOR IT IN. lake also offer pictures for free so not all of them are premium! There is a wide variety to choose from. they will keep you busy for hours, it’s good whenever you are waiting for something or in a waiting room. lake also makes things very relaxing and choose pictures based on the pictures that you chose when you first start! I love Lake,thank you for making one of the most enjoyable coloring apps I’ve ever used

Some mixed feelings here. Overall, Lake is a great game. I love that you can see other people’s art and support them. But the amount of art you get (for free) is not fair. There are 60 coloring books, which seems like a lot, but you only get 1 coloring page for each book. It makes the number a LOT smaller when you think about preferences; my brother, for example, doesn’t want the ones with flowers or “cute” things. I don’t really want the ones with monsters and such, and sometimes I don’t like the artist’s style, the art itself, or I just don’t like a specific thing about it, which only gives me about 20 things to color— and that is about the size of a 7-year-old’s coloring book. The one-a-day coloring pages are occasionally cool, but they’re usually simple designs that don’t leave much space for creativity. I think it would be better to let you have more pages without having to pay. Maybe you could watch an ad to get a page?? Besides all that, I really do think it’s a good game.

Great App, Just Needs A Few More Features To Be Perfect. I really enjoy my time with Lake - enough so that I bought the year subscription. While I don’t regret it, I do wish that there were a few more features, and I probably won’t renew the subscription unless they get added before then. An eye dropper tool feels like an obvious choice. The brief colour history is handy, but when you’re revisiting a section that you painted much earlier, it isn’t useful anymore, and you’ll spend some time trying to find the colour you used by trial and error. It’s something that was annoying but manageable with just the one free palette, but it became a bit of a headache once I subscribed and had three to toggle between. Other than that, other brush types and opacity options, as well as custom colour palettes would be really appreciated.

Crashes. Lake has always been my favorite coloring app and although I use it off and on, I've been using it for years. I love the variety of templates and I love the simple coloring interface. I just recently started using it again after a long hiatus and was very pleasantly surprised with the new (to me) journaling feature! However, another new feature since the last time I used Lake is all the crashing. :( It happened to me several times while I was trying to organize the art in my studio. It happened a few more times while I was browsing new templates to unlock. Finally and most frustratingly, it crashed when I clicked "done" after finishing a coloring page. When I opened the app again, all my work was gone. I was so frustrated I don't even want to open it again to start over. I read a few other recent reviews of this app that also mention all the crashing. Please please PLEASE fix this issue. I love Lake and was even hoping to subscribe with your Black Friday deal now that I'm using it again. But with all of these issues it's definitely not worth it, and sadly the app is unusable.

One of the best coloring apps out there!!!. I am not joking when I say how good Lake is! Sure it has a one tiny glitch but I love it! So you might be wondering what is this glitch? Well, let me tell you, so in this app you get a digital coloring journal. With that journal you choose how your feeling by an emoji and then you choose the word representing on how your feeling, it creates a special color palette. This is great! If only I could use it to color the picture I choose! For me when I try to use the color and I start coloring it switches back to the last color I was using in another coloring page. Nothing I do will fix it. But it doesn’t bug me to much since I don’t like to use the journal as much but if other people have this glitch it could really annoy them. But overall this is amazing I love how you can blend colors and how there is so many colors to choose from! If I could get the Premium version I would, but I can’t at the time! Review for Christians. Knowing I’ll get roasted for this review, I’m putting it forth anyway. Over Christmas I downloaded this app to “color” and bond more with my young granddaughter. We colored a lot of Christmas pages which was great! All was well, so I paid for a yearly subscription. Upon returning home and delving more into the app, I noticed a LOT of occult, supernatural, horoscope and even witch-themed artists. You do you and all, I’m not saying they shouldn’t be here, but had I known there were so many, I would’ve steered clear of this app. In the beginning we were mainly focused on Christmas/holiday art. Once I discovered the occult aspect, I canceled right away. I will still use the app until the subscription runs out, but reluctantly. It is a good app, but to remain faithful to God, I have to tread carefully on here. Lesson learned and I wanted to warn others to whom this is important also.

Three years coloring. I’m updating my review. I received a text from lake developer saying they are finally adding new tools , plus other fun updates, I hope it’s still free to use. I’ve been waiting awhile for some tools other than the same2brushes. If they keep their word and it’s still free, it would put them back in the number one spot. I don’t like the lockdown of my gallery but since it’s free I suppose it makes sense, otherwise why would we even need the gallery.? You can still copy before you put in gallery so that’s always been a positive option. Looking forward to October to see what new cool things they have in store. I’ve tried other apps but they want money, or they are color in the numbers which don’t prefer.

Worth it. So much I love about the app, from real stroke coloring instead of tap, the daily mood journaling, the sound effects and vibrations, pages by category , to the color pallets based on mood. Honestly, I’m picky with my creating and this app is a win for me ! Suggest adding more types of mood options to the list and of course more coloring pages. Maybe in the future a spot for sharing your version of the page you colored. I’d love to see how others choose to color the same page as I did. ! Would love to be a part of the team in designing or helping grow this app. I’ve already joined the Facebook group ❤️

I love this space to create!. I have had this app for a while and I wanted to tell everyone how amazing it is! I love to create all kinds of art, however sometimes my mental health makes it hard to get out of bed and pick up a pencil or a paintbrush. This app is truly amazing. I am able to color from a variety of beautiful and unique art. All of the artist on this app are amazing! There is a premium on the app, but the developers understand not everyone can afford that, (me lol) so they offer so so so many free options on the app! There is a holiday event with free drawings everyday and it is very fun to go in and see what you can unwrap! There is also a journal aspect to the app, it is another way to be creative when I don’t feel creative. The journal takes you mood and creates and color pallet (suggestion) for you to use! I love this app and I am so proud of all the developers and artist! That was a lot, but this is a 10/10 app:)

Locking up and now it’s crashing.... For several weeks now I’ve been unable to access anything in “All Art” Collections. It refuses to open completely; will only show the first four books(if the artwork/covers even load on these). If I click on any collections that show, it won’t open. I can’t click on any of the other selections at the top of the page and I can’t get out of it to go back to “Hey”, “My Studio” or anything else. I have to close out of the app completely. A few times I’ve been able to go to “All Art” and select from other subjects but now those have stopped working as well. I did an update last week and I was able to access “All Art” once before it went back to locking up. I just did the most recent update and now it still locks up and now it’s crashing completely. I can’t get in long enough to go to Support to get help. This app has gotten so clunky. I took advantage of the discounted sub(an offer during the beginning of Covid). When my subscription runs out I’m not going to get it back. No way I would pay full(far too expensive)subscription after this experience. What a disappointment, this once favorite, has become.

BEST OF THE BEST !. I have tried so many coloring apps and have never found one like lake. It is literally the best. Not only does it have a good color palette it also has a size for the brush that you can pick, watercolor and paint, and spray paint, AS WELL as a drop in color choice, so if you don’t like to color you can just do the choice of where you do it like color one section. One thing although it could level up would be its darker colors but they still work out with me. Also, the coloring pages ARE THE BEST. Many apps don’t have a large variety of free pages, and are very limited, LAKE HAS THE BEST!!It also never forces you to upgrade or anything like that which is literally the best. Love it, get it.

Perfect game but has a problem. I love this app because I love anything to do with art but I do have a problem a couple months ago I was on this app on my friends iPad and I saw this artist and I colored one of her pictures that where for free because I am not old enough for a credit card and do today I saw her on my page but all her drawing that I saw on my page cost money and when i wanted to search her drawing page up because there wasn’t a search bar or button and I really wanted to draw her free picture but I couldn’t. This is a great app but I think it needs a place where I can search artists that I like up.

Love supporting artists. I pay for the subscription and this app is totally worth it. I love the fact that part of the funds goes to the artists who provide these drawings and that there is great diversity in not just the artwork but the artists themselves. It’s ridiculous to see complaints of having to pay for quality products that clearly people have invested their time, money, and own talent to create and support. A free account doesn’t give you full appreciation of what this app has to offer. I often just like looking through the illustrations themselves, without coloring. The color palette is lovely and I’m addicted to using the watercolor brush to layer colors. Lake Coloring provides soothing, calming entertainment…while supporting and promoting individual artists and their work. Without ads.

It’s ok and pretty good?. Overall, this color app is ACTUALLY very good! At first when I downloaded this app, it gave me a few free pages to color while the rest are locked. I almost deleted this app when I thought I would only get a few free pages to color on the first day. But after a day, new free pages popped up for you to color and keep them, which is why I kept this app. There are only four tools/brushes for you to use for coloring, which is pretty simple. But it’s not. After playing with the tools, I found a lot of ways to create textures and gradients for my colors, and this is what makes this app special. Because this app gives you a color wheel where you can switch from dark to light colors, it’s really easy to choose the colors that you want. Though the only concern that I have is saving your works for multiple devices. I usually use my phone for coloring but I also want to color on my iPad. This app only allows you to save your progress in your iCloud, which is not very convenient since it does not work for me. So I’m hoping that the app would have connection to my account for some sort of social media like Facebook or connect my account to email.

Great yet.... Oki so I just got it yesterday and I hate it. H A T E IT. I mean, like it’s cool app, but you can’t COLOR ANYTHING. I’ve finished all the free art and I want to color more! And there’s no way I’m paying TWENTY DOLLORS FOR SOME ART SUPPLIES! I can’t wait one day for like, five pages! I’m not stupid! It’s unfair! Overall the app has no bugs, no glitches, good pages, good tools, good colors, but it’s hard to move without recking your art! I mean seriously? 😒 I’m not deleting this app because maybe after three more days I.l be able to wait for five pages. I wanted to do some of the “girl hero’s powers etc” ones, but noooo... buy all pages for twenty bucks! Nope. Nada. No. Never. Make it ten dollors maybe I will. Not twenty. I mean, thing of little kids?! NO KIDS ONES ARE FREE TODAY! I mean like, the pages are fine overall but still! See my point? Make a “all free test out for two weeks for people who might want to subscribe” thing or something, but please make more pages free? Thanks. 😠

It's great but.... I had this app on my iPad and I really enjoyed coloring on it. It has great capabilities and fun color palettes as well as simple controls, BUT I absolutely hate that it requires a subscription. On the app store it's shown as free to use and a simple coloring book app. And while it is simple and fun, it's not entirely free. Every time I click on a page that I just want to preview, it tells me to pay. And the selection of art that is actually free is very limited. It's irritating that I have to pay just to color. It's great that you're supportive of small artists but the fact that the app is listed as free with a tiny selection of actual free content is a little ridiculous to me. That and you would be paying $10 a month just for a small brush collection. Again, while I do think this a great coloring app and has amazing potential, the content is just underwhelming. Please take this into account:)

would be 5 stars but can't enjoy my subscription. I purchased the premium membership because I really enjoyed the app. Unfortunately, every time I have time to use this app (not very often I am a mom of 4 and don't get a lot of time to just sit around) I have to restore my purchase which never works. Than I have to write an email to Lake's service people and then I eventually receive an apologetic email usually within 1 to 3 days with a baloney fix that I end up never having to use because the app magically has finally restored my purchase. The issue gets fixed but instead of sitting down to enjoy the app I have to do the twist and by the time the issue is fixed my time to sit down and relax is long gone. My recommendation for everyone out there is to enjoy the free features and save yourself the headache.

Everything’s great except.... The app is really beautiful. The different tools and coloring books are really gorgeous, I just hate one thing: the in-app purchases that are everywhere. I only have access to a few pages that are free, and with the new update, I can’t even go back and color my other ones that I’ve started before because now they’re locked and cost money. I wish you could just buy one coloring book instead of having to subscribe for a month or a year. In-app purchases is one of the most frustrating things on this earth for me, so if they were gone or even if they just costs less, it would be a more enjoyable experience for me. Other than that, beautiful app.

wishing for more. i ended up trying lake because i liked the focus on independent artists and the emphasis on supporting them, not taking advantage of them for profit. additionally, i’ve found that it has the most illustrations/artists that fit my personal style preference. that said, i can’t help but feel that it falls short in a few major ways. it absolutely needs a couple more coloring tools - why there is no crayon/colored pencil type option is beyond me. i find myself using competing apps like Pigment because i just can’t enjoy the limited brush styles offered by Lake - three brushes, limited size adjustment, and no adjustment of opacity? just feels like a let down for the cost of a subscription coloring app. as for the color palette - although the idea of the rainy, cloudy, and sunny palettes is cute and is a very nice way to explore colors, i do long for an option that allows finer tuning, and the creation of custom palettes or the saving of colors beyond the 6-8 colors in the history panel. last, one little annoyance i always find myself frustrated with is the very limited recall of the undo option, especially when there’s no tap-to-undo on ipad and i constantly find myself accidentally placing small marks on the canvas that end up requiring erasing the entire section. anyways, in short - nice illustrations, great artists, cute interface - just lacking quite a bit in terms of real coloring tools.

My favorite coloring app. I never give apps reviews, but this is the only coloring book app I’ve ever been able to actively use and enjoy! I’m in high-school, and I have been looking for a simple coloring app to relieve stress from a very busy schedule. Usually I end up using one for about a week or a few days, and then I delete it because it becomes stale. But this app, is seriously awesome. Firstly, I think this color selection for a free app is quite broad, which I really appreciate. Although the tools seem limited, I think they provide a wide range of textures and shading. I also appreciate that there is no “pencil” tool that other apps have (its pretty useless). Even though there isn’t a wide variety of pictures for free users at first, I love that there are new selections available everyday. The art styles are beautiful and the suggested color pallets are another plus. My gallery has grown with more and more pictures I can choose to color, and I’ve found myself loving that the tools enable me to be really creative with the coloring. It’s more than a “filling in the lines” kind of app. You can really change the picture you’re given and make it your own. Highly suggest this app, awesome free experience. (:

PLEASE READ THIS CREATORS(people get this app). I really love this up so much! It doesn’t overwhelm me with the fancy coloring options other coloring apps have and the pictures are simple but yet amazing! (You need to get it if you haven’t). My only problem is can you offer more stuff to the people who can’t get the subscription? (Btw if you are a person who is reading this right now please get this app! Really amazing). But like how I was saying, a lot of the pictures have the subscription which right now I can’t get. If you could please make it where you can watch adds to get it? And for the subscription thing can you make it a little cheaper? (I understand if you can’t). One last suggestion. Is there a way you can add a music feature where u can listen to music while coloring? Like rain music, ocean sounds, etc. I understand for most people they don’t like listening to music while coloring but for the people who do could you please add it? Again, I understand if you can’t. Absolutely Brilliant. Thank you so much to the amazing team behind this app, i had a small issue after the update & they fixed it immediately! I have had it for months & use it daily. I have completed whole sets by my favourite artists (Alina Drozdova is probably my all time fave). I love how artists come back with holiday themed art pieces to contribute to the theme sets. This app is the best colouring app I have tried, which is why I decided to pay for the subscription, & it has been worth every penny! If you love to colour daily to unwind & relax (I have a heart condition & colouring is very soothing for me) then I would say this is a smart purchase for you! I have not bought a physical colouring book in months since subscribing to Lake, & I was previously spending about $20 a month on high quality adult colouring books, so this is actually a better alternative for me. And as someone who is only in my 20s, the art styles available in the Lake app are preferable to me compared to your average boring colouring book. Thanks so much again to the developers & artists who made this app! I truly love it.

It is a nice coloring app, but...... Lake is a nice coloring app, probably on one of the better ones out there because you can actually color and shade each part of the drawing. The overall drawings for coloring are awesome and very unique, you won’t find these kinds of drawings anywhere else, which is another reason why lake is a top choice for me. The overall experience is nice and the final results almost look like a real painting, it’s really quite a bit different then any other painting program I’ve tried. Lake doesn’t overwhelm you with a bunch of tools and such, it gives you what you need to get great results and let’s you concentrate on your work. Selections are easy and the navigation is simple, I just wish there was a way to rotate the canvas while working, I often have to rotate my iPad to compensate for this. They are also are having a killer deal right now on subscriptions, I signed up for a year and I’m really glad I did, so far I’m loving it.

Excellent Overall But Still Has Room To Grow. I love this app!! I found it when the pandemic started and have been using it on and off. It’s really polished, and I love the selection. I do think there’s more I wish the app could do. For one, as other have brought up, I’d really love more brushes or ways to control color/save colors. I don’t have much art experience at all, so this may be a skill problem, not a tools problem, but once I started experimenting, I hit certain limits to the tools provided. I would love the ability to blend more. I also feel that even more control over brush sizing could be nice.(Also - maybe adding glitter or more metallic colors of some sort? Not a tool, but.) I also think it would be neat to see other peoples creations for inspiration in something like a shared gallery, or a tips and tricks section with some coloring tutorials. Lake has been an excellent way for me to open the door into doing more art in my life and I’m excited to see if they expand more on what they provide. Either way, it’s a great app! :)

great drawings, horrible execution.. first of all, i love the drawings. this game is very fun to play and i highly recommend it if you don’t mind spending money on it. however, it is impossible to play if you’re not spending anything. i wouldn’t even mind if it was just a one time purchase, but a MEMBERSHIP for a fricking coloring app?!?! it’s insane. it’s a shame since i love coloring with this game, but i will not be spending money on a membership that’s completely useless. another thing is the lack of representation. almost all of the females are white, and there are hardly any poc to be found. i have to color them to look like poc, which is extremely hard when given white features. there’s only like, fifty (if even that) drawings of poc out of the thousands of drawings???? it’s outrageous. this game would be much better if these issues were resolved.

Feels like it’s still missing something. I got Lake again recently after leaving it a year or so ago. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of new artists and the journal feature. It made coming back feel worth it. But there are still some things that I feel are missing, and I had these same suggestions from before. One is I feel like this app would greatly, greatly benefit from a skin tone palette. Actually, just more palettes in general, but definitely a skin tone one. You can achieve a decent amount of colors if you “mix”, but it’d be nice to have some new and premade colors. (Especially darker skin tones!) And the second thing is I feel like the coloring tools are still pretty basic, especially for an app you pay a subscription for. I’ve had free coloring apps with more brush types and even stamps. It’d be nice to get some new tools! All and all, love the app, can’t wait for updates and more artists.

There’s availability differences on the new version.. I really enjoy using the Lake app. However, I am a bit disappointed with this update. While it IS aesthetically pleasing, I am a bit disappointed that many of the formerly free designs are now locked. There are an array of new designs available that are free but it’s frustrating that many of the designs that you might have been working on in the precious version are now unavailable on the free version and now locked down and you cannot access them. In addition, if you put together a gallery in the past of all of your finished work, the gallery is now empty and you must restart again. Many of the items that were in my gallery are now locked down for the paid version and you cannot receive them without subscribing to add them to the gallery. The spoonflower designs are always fun to do but now they are no longer free. Previously, the entire collection was available on the free version. Now there are a couple available otherwise you have to pay for the paid subscription.

Love this app!. I really love this app and has helped me so much through the hardest time of my life. I absolutely adore the entry, to draw, because I have had horrible days and drawing it out really helps. I love the different genres of drawing and how unique each drawing is. Love the watercolor tool and the color wheel. I don’t have the subscription, but is still a great app, and is easy to use once you get the hang of it (like one drawing and you know where everything is). I love the feature that you can listen to music while coloring because I am very sentimental when it comes to music and drawing so putting them together really seals the package. One thing that might be just my device, but I went into the app on day and all my drawings were gone. They were there but weren’t colored. It was bummer, and I had spent hours on some drawings. I didn't it dwell on it, because I though of it as an opportunity to draw them again with different colors, or styles but it was still devastating. If there is a way for me to get my drawings back please respond creators. Still get this great app though! Thanks for the amazing work the creators have done, and if there is anything that I can do to get the drawing back, can you please let me know!

Fix all the problems please it's so irritating. This app is good and makes you feel kinda relaxed ( tbh I mean no I feel the same ).I think it’s fair that a lot of the pictures cost money because the artists spend a lot of work on each book of picture but I don’t think it’s fair that we can’t use blank canvas or that we can’t use some brushes and colours. But overall it’s fun to colour on this app. Oh yeah and red and orange are really important colours in my colouring, so I'm begging u to PLEASE add them cause I can never do rainbow. Your prices for them premium are crazy expensive, and you can't buy premium through the app which is soooooooooo annoying. That's why I gave it a two star.

Not saving my colouring. I’ve been having problems with this app lately. It is not saving my progress. I’ve also found that some of the work that I have finished also does not save and I have to start all over. I love this app but it is super annoying when it doesn’t save my progress.

Best app. This app is awesome! I paid $17 for hundreds of colouring pages. Just like using a pen and paper but better! Would recommend to everyone, you can create beautiful artwork from amazing artworks!!!!

Good but bad. At first when I started using this app it was great. I have been using it for about 1 and a half years. But when I opened up Lake today, all of my drawings were gone. I was really sad becuase I had put a lot of hard work into them.

Joy of Coloring!. Lake is truly fun and beautifully designed app for coloring experience. So far I am testing on the iPhone and coloring with fingers tapping and brushing away. It provides some simple tools suited for coloring and also cool color wheel picker ala iPod. I wish for one thing: ability to upload my own artworks and also able to import from other apps like Paper 53 for example.

Could be better.. I got the free trail and it was alright, except there is a very limited amount of colouring options. Unfortunately the app keeps freezing and anytime I stop colouring for a few hours, when I go back I cant load the picture I was previously colour which was quite annoying.

Cost. Would be even better if more free ones and cheaper

Great app but a few complaints and changes.. This is a very wonderful app and love everything about but a few complaints. Firstly, I really wish there wasn’t a premium because, it’s not that fair for people to pay and get all the pieces of art and get the pastel colours and people who don’t pay don’t get all the features and art pieces. Secondly, I wish that there was a blank canvas because for the people who don’t pay can’t even get at least 2 blank canvases. Lastly, I really wish there was a dark mood and a light mood. This is because when people colour in the light it might be to dark and when they try and make their screen brighter it’s still not bright enough. Overall I think the app is wonderful and love the soothing sound effects of the brushes, the different art pieces to colour in and the different brushes. Bye!

It’s a good app. The app is very good, the colouring and everything is very stress relieving but there’s one thing, Literally everything costs money! You can barely colour in one artwork, actually I mean, you can only colour in one artwork the rest are locked and cost money, Plz let there be more artworks that aren’t locked!

Good but..... It was a great game until I relised how expensive it was to buy pictures but I have found that the colouring in calms you down and takes a long time which helps you relieve stress and work on your patience

How I love lake. I love how there’s so many drawing so you can choose from and colour in and I love all the features and design 💝 also all the 👨‍🎤 do a good job on drawing so I can get to colour in all of it

Good but…. This is an amazing game to play if you want to unwind or if you just want to have fun while being creative. Yet I do wish that there was more options for free when I finished my one week trial I couldn’t use many colours and the picture choices were very limited. Good except on ios13. Been playing with this on iOS 13, finished a drawing, saved to my photos and the gallery, both didn’t happen

Great app. Yeah, I love this app is has such beautiful pictures and you’re free to be creative. It has no adds and that’s really nice. Down sides: if has a lot of updates, if you don’t update to right away it go’s all glitchy.

Fantastic, but some ideas for improvement. As a painter with very little motivation to work on my own art at times, I love this app. The ability to shade, the ability to lock and unlock lines, the colour range and colour history, it has a TON of fantastic features. Personally, I think the ability to rotate canvases would improve the colouring experience a lot overall. I would also love to see an addition of some kind of blending tool. :)

Addictive. I love, love, love this app it’s easy to use and there are soooo many options when it comes to the free pictures and it’s beautiful art.

An amazing app. It is a amazing app, it is such a joy to work on and it is certainly very fun! but there is a bit of a downside to it there are little glitches when I do little details the ink doesn’t show up and I have to do it repetitively and its a little annoying, and I wish there was more of a selection of drawings but I understand you have to pay for all them but it is a very cheap price of 4 dollars. ( This is very cheap compared to other apps which are usually 11 to 19 dollars) so yeah just fix those bugs and get a few more artists and the app will be perfect. LOVE IT!!💗💗. I love art and this app is amazing! I love doing art when I am tired and just want to chill for a little while. The tools they give you are very handy and I love how they give you a palette🎨. The notebook is lovely because the give you options of art pieces after you tell the app what you feel and I love it! Overall I love this app and definitely recommend this to anyone who loves art as well Thx for reading this!😁

Not very enjoyable... I’m not sure you can “colour the perfect drawing” because nearly ALL the drawings are locked. The price is a bit expensive and I’m a kid and my mum would definitely not pay for that. The advertisements are kind of lying, but anyway, I would not recommend this app

I love this game so much and has helped me draw and shade!It is so calming and I wasn’t able to leave without my iPad anywhere!But...the art is a little bit TOO expensive I mean I like the daily art but I would appreciate if we could have people on the daily art!This would be far more fun

Ughhh. When I first downloaded this app, about September 2019, it was great. I loved it. I thought everything was a bit expensive but in every booklet there were 1 or 2 free drawing which I could do so I didn’t feel like I had to pay. Also, I could always just do my own drawing on blank canvas. Now, redownloading it on my new iPad almost 8 months later, you have to pay for EVERYTHING. I’m not even kidding, there are like 7 free drawings in the whole app and they’re only the bad ones. You can’t even use the blank canvas feature one single time without paying. You can do nothing and it is disgraceful. I don’t see the point of making an app free if in order to use it you have to pay anyway. Do NOT get this unless you are looking to pay a lot of money!

Not as good as reviews state. App is horrible. There’s little to no colour options. 5 brush types, and the way you have to somehow flick through the colour wheel is unthought of. Too touchy and too hard to pick a colour. Doesn’t feel relaxing at all. I payed for the premium straight away and wish I tried it before paying for it. Not worth time or money.

Horrible!. I have been using this app on and off for a few months. Their is literally nothing to do! I’m a free user and I literally can’t do anything without paying😡 The last time I got back on, I was in the process of colouring a daily picture. When I re-downloaded it, I couldn’t even finish it because it became a premium picture! Don’t dowload this unless you want to spend a whoLe lot of money just to colour😒

Good but it used to be better. I LOVE this app! The colouring is amazing! There are lots of really beautiful and fun drawings. The only thing I have a complaint about is that it used to be so much better when you got a free drawing for all the artists. I understand that they need to make money off the subscriptions, but you can only colour in a couple drawings, whereas before you could do one free one for each artist. It was much more enjoyable then. I’m not allowed to pay for subscription, but this is still a great app even if you can’t unlock everything.

Interesting. Only a couple minutes in and I’m quite satisfied with the app! For a free user, you obviously aren’t given a wide range of things but with what IS given you can definitely create something great. It’s an app where you have to use it a few times to understand and really get the hang of it, even so I’m sure it’s worth it. It’s one of the few apps I found that has a range of colors available. I did find some complications within the app tho but overall still quite good

Beautiful app. Very nice app with amazing illustrations from some of my favourite artists. Perfect for killing some down time. To all the people whining about why it isn’t free - software creators and illustrators work hard to put this app together and ought to be paid for their work. If you don’t expect illustrators to draw you things for free then don’t expect this app to give them to you free! They are very transparent with the payments in the App Store info and illustrators gotta eat too!

Something special to work with. Lake is a awesome drawing app where there is a awesome way to use the Apple Pencil. I like the tools on it as well as the easy controls that change the colours.

Amazing, just not enough tools. I love lake so much. I think premium is the way to go and nothing has any glitch, but I am a bit disappointed. Even when you have premium, you unfortunately don’t get tools you might need such as crayons, highlighters, etc.

Cute but a little buggy. This colouring app has a lot of potential. It makes colouring fun, it’s cute and the drawings are original. However, the app crashes a lot. When it crashes, I lose all of the drawings I’ve coloured in! Otherwise, great.

Lovely app. I’ve spent hours colouring and shading these beautiful illustrations. Great concept to support artists in a creative way by contributing to their unique and whimsical artwork. The only setbacks with the app are the limitations on the ‘un-do’ function ( you can only press it about 4-5 times before it greys out) and also I would love to see a tool such as a blending brush. Would also love to see a windows desktop version so I can colour on my Spectre but I won’t hold my breath.

Impressive. I love it I’ve only had it for 2 days and I’m absolutely in love. Really nice illustrations and beautiful Colours. Crashes and unable to save journal entries. I really love this app so much but the fact that it crashes so often and leaves my journal entries unfinished and unable to go back in at a later time to see it again or complete it is so upsetting. I’m really hoping this feature can be updated and that bugs can be fixed <3

Love it!!!! But there is a problem.. Sometimes I go and want to colour, but then the drawings have loading marks on them and I can’t colour. Pls fix this, otherwise, great app! 😁😀😘🥳! Edit: I love this app, the journal entry and daily colouring pages are amazing. I don’t mind waiting for the ones tomorrow because then it’ll be a surprise. I also love the blobs and Christmas calendar ones as well!

Unstable app. Needs maintenance from developer.. Was fun for a while. Until a reoccurring annoyance would crop up. Namely, the work I put in wasn’t being saved. After half an hour of work I’d close my phone. Upon returning to a picture, the colour had reverted to a blank canvas. Waste of times since work is not saved to the app. Goodbye lake. Imagine paying for this app, yikes.

Play this to stop anxiety. You can go to journal, tell your emotions, and then draw with the colours they say match your emotions, to be honest if I were you reading this right now… I would download it. I hope this review helped you download it. Oop, almost forgot you can draw other pages and save them to your gallery. (in the app)

Charges without permission. I downloaded this app over a month ago and deleted it immediately after realizing it charges a subscription. I have been charged every week and each month for this app that I did not give any credit card information too, nor did I choose a subscription. If you download this app and delete it, make sure to check your subscriptions in your App Store to avoid being charged for something you’re not even using.

Love this game!. I love, absolutely adore this game! The features available let you create anything you can think of! The blending and the colour selection is absolutely wonderful. One thing and the only reason I’m not giving it five stars is how expensive the membership is and how much not having the membership hinders the experience. Not having the membership means you can only use the free drawings in each pack. I feel like 3 ways that could make the game better is if: 1. Being able to watch a certain amount of ads to unlock a drawing in a pack 2. Being able to buy a feature (i.e customized color palate, individual art packs...) instead of membership (since that costs a lot) 3. Reducing membership price or being able to buy it permanently for cheaper. Those were my suggestions!

Lost all my Gallery. Opened the app this morning after having it for a few days and... all the colourings I’ve done are blank again. They still show up in my gallery but my work on them is gone. I did ALL the Tales from Bunny Hill pics and I’m sad to see them gone. I am in the middle of the free trial and was thinking of extending it weekly but this sort of bug has made up mind :/

Deleted my art. Got the app not too long ago and I was enjoying it, doing the daily drawings ands the free ones until I logged onto the app one evening to find all my drawings deleted. Very upsetting

Not clear about subscription. I downloaded this app just to see what it was about and was going to delete it immediately. When first logging in they tell you that you have one week free and will charge afterwards. Kept charging me for months even though I deleted the app after 5 min.

A little problem. I like this app. I’ve seen my sister draw it on another device. I haven’t drawn on it yet. I selected the types of drawing I liked, like they tell me to do first. I was ready to draw a specific drawing but the drawings available are just drawings I don’t want and don’t remember selecting. I find the drawing I like and I can only draw one of them from the collections because I need to pay for the rest. I guess I understand but the problem it’s that I can’t find the type of drawing I wanted and selected and I don’t know how to find them. I was excited but I guess I’ll have to draw with what I have.

I love this game but to much ads and had to pay/long. In first l saw this ad l was very excited to download it so l downloaded it,l got in to ad and it said to pay but there was a x, l click on the x and l got in the ad l start with a unicorn and a ad pop up me, when l wanted to use a pant brush you need to watch a ad or pay, so l do not want you to download this ad.

expenses. Love this app so much but there’s are way to many things you have to pay for, the free ones are great but out of the hundreds of other drawings there are only 6 or 8 in the free category. Even adding things you can watch ads to unlock would be fine. (Not sure if there already in app) ^^ Besides that the app is very calmer and basically a destresser.

Beautiful app.... I hate to give this app less than a five star rating, but I have a few things that could make this app better. For one thing, almost every piece of art is paywalled. You only get one set of colors, unless you pay, and you can’t draw your own thing unless you pay. See where I’m going? And while you don’t need to pay to use the app, I would honestly prefer a one time purchase up front, as opposed to this. With all the things you have to pay for, it kinda feels like it’s tricking you into getting it then paying a lot. Other then the mass of things to pay for, this app is beautifully made. The graphics are fantastic, and they give a pretty good set of tools.

Deleted it all. I had this app for three years, and many colorings saved. I did the most recent update whenever it came out, and my entire gallery was wiped, and it doesnt save my progress on things for over a day. It really saddened me, as I actually spent time on them and liked the way they came out. I hardly see myself using this app much more, as I feel pressured to rush and get it done in a single sitting rather than being able to work on it in short bouts over a longer time. I love Lake coloring, but this little glitch really, really has turned me off from the app.

Please move back and undo buttons. I love this app but I’ve ruined three illustrations in the few days I’ve had it by hitting the back button instead of undo in the editor. Going back to My Studio after making a large mistake (filling the entire canvas one color with line borders off, etc) makes the illustration unfixable because undoing previous actions is not available when you return to the drawing. Please move the back and undo buttons away from each other, make them more visually distinct, or enable undo from the previous session after returning to the illustration from My Studio.

Calming but you have to pay for most art. This app is really calming and fun. However you have to pay for most of the artwork and I don’t think there is an option for purchasing just one print. It gives you artwork it thinks you will like based on the questions you answer at the beginning (example: do you like portraits, abstract, etc.) It also makes your phone sort of vibrate when you are coloring which i think is weird and I really don’t like it. Overall it is a great app but the vip option is expensive.

It's great and all but... I absolutely love Lake, but there are a few things I must say. One the colors, I like how u can have multiple types of color but when I copy the color it doesn't even match with the one I'm using. Two I want to color more but there are not a lot of options to choose from, from the artist either have one or two u can draw for free, or none I’d like to see more of that too. Three that toolbar at the bottom where u can color and stuff, when I first used it I was surprised how not all of them were free, so I'd wish to see u guys let all of that to be free. I love u lake but please make these possible :)

Unable to unsubscribe for weeks!. Do I got the app. It was OK, barely anything to color and definitely not worth the money. I forgot to unsubscribe after the first week so I was charged 2.99 and then I clicked unsubscribe and deleted the app. It did not unsubscribe me. And because I had deleted the app and now owed for the subscription apple would not allow me to download it back to unsubscribe. So I used the apple unsubscribe button and it kept trying to open the app which I had deleted and could not re download. Now today I check my email and once again I am charged for the app. I went through the process and it finally worked under apple subscription. But it doesn't change the fact that I was charged several times for an app that I had unsubscribed to.

Awsome but can be improved!. Dear creators of lake, I love this app. I’m actually a ten year old, so I was super frustrated that I couldn’t pay for the subscription. I think that you guys should make the app offer an add to get a picture that was locked because someone needed a subscription. I hope that you read this, and just so you know when I come of age, I will get yearly subscription. Edit: I think once you download the app you should ask for the users age so if the Pearson is adult they would have to pay for subscription and not the kiddos!❤️😊

Keeps Crashing After Paying for It. Seriously, this app worked almost perfectly while I was using it pretrial. I started the trial because I wanted to be able to see all of the art I had done in the 24 hours I’d been using the app prior. What had happened is after a certain point things stopped saving in my gallery, and the things that had successfully saved we’re showing as white with a wave icon on them. I figured paying / starting the trial would bring them back. Now though, the app crashes whenever I finish something, then doesn’t even give me the option to save. When I attempt to click on something I’ve colored before, the image just gets smaller but doesn’t open. I’m really disappointed; I’d truly been enjoying this app.

Free Experience Is Extremely Limited. Pretty much anything you want to color is behind a paywall. Looking at the app today, I saw about 9 images available to color for free. (The developer responded and it actually seems worse than I thought, so I had to update my review. Apparently, you only get 10 images a week and 1 per day, so I had to downgrade from 2 stars to 1. Thanks developer for clearing it up. lol). I don’t mind an app being paid, I have many paid apps on my phone, I just dislike when an app is advertised as free, but then the free experience is extremely limited. If you’re going to limit it that much, just make it a paid app at the outset. I would respect the app more if it was simply a $5 or $10 app in the App Store that you could buy and have full access to. I would probably buy it under those circumstances.

Love it, Love it, Love it!!!. Amazing coloring app that allows you to choose how you want to pay! Although the free content is also awesome and you aren’t bombarded with a bunch of ads. You actually have me considering a yearly subscription which I NEVER do! I look forward to the new content you’ll offer, (additional brushes etc.) my daughter also loves it more than any other coloring app we have. Suggestion: the only thing my I would love to see is the ability to scan in with our device a sketch so she could color her own drawings. Keep up the good work!!!!!

100%frommeee. I actually really love this coloring app. I don’t have a premium account but I love the way it is. Definitely helped me with my creativity. I love saving all my art then going back to add cute little details. Personally I’ve had no problems besides deleting then re-adding the app, it keeps the pages you saved in the “one-a-day” so that’s cool. But not in your Gallery. But gives me a chance to recolor and use more creativity. But there’s many more coloring pages added all the time so I stay busy and move on from page to page, then continue the old and unfinished ones!

Great app. I’ve downloaded every art app there is I think, from procreate, to sketches, colortherapy, recolor, leaf, and art set. I unsubscribed from recolor and leaf. Boring, not creative and not worth the money at all. They also consist of a community that just like each other’s drawings and don’t welcome newcomers. Sketches and procreate are by far the best. Until I came to lake. I love it, I love the brushes, I love the versatility, so I bought it. I can’t find anywhere where users show their work though, I can’t see anyone interacting or commenting. Do we just keep our gallery for our own sake? Where do the drawings go when “posted?” How do we see others’ works? Is there a way to communicate with other colorists? Also, the drawings are very very detailed. I don’t have that much patience, and end up scribbling in frustration! Maybe it’s for older people? Please tell me how this app works socially, and if you could add some pictures that are not so incredibly intricate and detailed. Otherwise, I absolutely love it. Thanks!

Just my opinion. I’m a fan of this. The only thing I don’t like. Is every time I find a picture I like. You have to have premium to color it. Personally I wouldn’t spend $10 to color a picture. When there’s other apps where you can color a lot more for free. It’s a great app. Don’t get me wrong. It’s relaxing and takes your mind of everything going on. I would just like to see better pictures to draw without premium. I get the devs gotta make money. Trust me I get that. But at the same time. There’s 6 pictures I can color without premium out of the hundreds that are in the app. Great game tho. Love the hard work put into it by the devs. You can definitely tell they care about their players.

Weird glitch. I love lake and I’m ok with the items available without paying. However, there’s a glitch that stops me from adding to the gallery when I was doing it perfectly fine before. My first thought was the app dev changed the feature to be exclusive to premium but it doesn’t say that in the plan and when I googled possible reasons it showed that everyone had the feature. I just want to know if the button was changed to somewhere else, or a way to get it fixed because I don’t think it’s a problem for every user of the app.

There aren’t many drawing that you can use with the limited access, but I enjoy it. I really like the custom pallets and the journal! The colors are fantastic, and the spray paint and watercolor brush are very useful for detailed drawing. I recommend to this for people who live in hotter/colder/very random weather places, have disabilities, enjoy coloring, or are just looking for a fun drawing app. 😊

Please read!!!!!!!. I love your game but I would like it if you could make to where the people who don’t want to pay for the subscription could earn coins. For example, when a person completes a picture they earn a certain number of coins for completing that picture. Depending on how difficult the picture is that is how many coins you get. With these coins you can unlock pictures. And you could charge money for coins. Say someone wants to buy 100 coins you could charge 2.99 for 200 coins you could charge 4.99 and so on. I feel as if this would make your app gain more money and people would enjoy your app better.

HIGHLY recommend!❤️. This app is such a life changer! And it’s very cheap. Unlike other apps it only 15$ for I’m pretty sure a year❤️ I’d highly recommend if you wanna unwind and relax. It’s helped me cope with my Anxiety and Depression. And there is a variety of different color sheets so you’ll never get bored of it! I’ve been looking for a good coloring app for years but this one takes the cake! Though I have a recommendation, can you make it so you have more options to choose from if you don’t have premium? It was a problem but when i saw how cheap it was to get it I got it since it’s INCOMPARABLE to ANY other coloring app! Again, highly recommend!

Best coloring app. I swear, I have tried dozens of coloring apps but it truly feels more like hundreds. I’ve found a couple decent ones, most I wasn’t impressed with at all though. That all changed when I found Lake. This is hands down the best coloring app available. I especially love that subscriptions and in-app purchases are an option but not absolutely necessary to enjoy the app. There is a wonky little thing with the color selector occasionally where I’m trying to zoom in/out or otherwise just move the screen while I have a color selected, and it will somehow switch my color. But other than that, the app is seriously perfect.

Great but a few changes would be nice..... The app is absolutely fabulous and relaxing. It uses ASMR while you color to give you a real pen and paper type feel. The only problem I have with this app is that the brushes are limited. Other coloring apps have a better selection of brushes and tools to use. This app only supply’s its users with 4 brushes. I bought the premium version of the app and was disappointed to find that I only unlocked 2 new color ranges and more coloring pages. Other than the limits I would recommend getting this app because It is very fun and is a great stress reliever.

One of the best apps for iPad ever. Lake is so relaxing. The illustrations provide brilliant creative constraints. You don’t have to draw anything. All you have to do is decide how to bring the images to life. For me this is a powerful shortcut to creative “flow,” and what’s amazing is how reliable it is. I can pull out Lake on my iPad anywhere and immediately get into a groove. The variety of styles of illustration is fantastic—there’s something for every mood and interest. The coloring tools are varied enough to get different kinds of results, without being so fiddly and complex you get lost in the details. Just loads of great design decisions all around. Well worth the subscription.

Color Wheel is Confusing. I like the idea of this app but I’m having trouble figuring out how to use it. The color wheel is confusing. Maybe that’s not the case with the paid version, but in the free version it’s difficult to choose the color that you want. The wheel keeps moving and shifting around, and I keep getting the wrong colors. Every time I try to choose a color I keep getting messages asking me to purchase the app. Between the shifting around and the messages, it’s hard to get a feel as to whether I would like this app or not. Also, the color wheel should be bigger and easier to see. You can only see a little corner of it.

Amazing! But a few complaints...... This coloring app is amazing! I love it so much! Very good. It’s a very good coloring app. Good variety of artist collections to choose from for coloring. Nice options for coloring tools. A lot of colors to work with. The color wheel takes a bit to get used to. Even when you get used to using it, it’s a bit sensitive so you have to fiddle with it to get it where you want. But overall, I liked it enough to sign up for the annual subscription. Suggestions: it would be great to be able to see an artist’s collection of drawings by tapping on their name, and more drawings to choose from that don’t have people in them.

Love this app!. Best app I’ve seen for coloring. So many original, artist drawn coloring pages. Great options with the accuarela, oil, and spray tools, or the paint bucket. I love the suggested pallets but much more the color wheel with the three options. It’s great the way you can see the editors selection on the first page and you can browse all the coloring books by artist or compilations of pages on a plethora of categories (animals, abstract, fantasy, etc.). Also, I love my studio page where I add all the pages I like and intend to color, also my gallery where I keep all my finished projects. I use it mainly on my iPad with an Apple pen, but also use it fine on my iPhone with my finger (sometimes with a stylus). These app has hold me together during COVID and dealing with the news. Best tool to help me manage my mental health. If you take suggestions I would love to see two functionalities added: (1) Metallic colors added to the wheel, and (2) pastel chalk added to the tools. Cant color anything!!!. Dont get me wrong, this game is nice with good thought involved, but i can only paint 3 things almost! I dont like paying on apps either. I thought this app would be good like some pixel art apps where you can paint more than that, but this is really bad, worse than i thought! Some of these styles are super cute and awesome looking, but, again, i have to pay to access almost everything. This is a huge downgrade!!! The app can also be glitchy or un-cooperative at times. The fact that there is not much things to do if you dont pay for it makes me feel like every drawing app just wants to get you to pay to get VIP or to get more abilities. I know there are some things to paint, but very low! Not all people are interested in paying for literally everything. PLEASE fix or I wont install again!

The best coloring app!!!. I wanted to start this with saying how much I love this coloring app! I used the free version for months before being gifted a subscription to the paid version— which by the way is SOOOO worth the money! I love all the different things you can color and I love how many different artist there are to choose from when it comes to styles! The sounds are also very satisfying to your ears. I do however wish they would add some more brushes and finer tunings to the color choices! My favorite app on my iPad. Relaxing and super fun! <3

I love this app, however. I can honestly say that in the beginning I loved this app because it was great meditation time for me after a long day, I just put on tunes and color. I really liked the individual purchase option because I don’t want to subscribe. However, I notice that since the last two updates that option is no longer available and that is very annoying so I have stopped using the app. I also sent an email to your support team with artist selection ideas and NEVER got a response. I would love to give this app a 5 star rating but until those two discrepancies are rectified or at least acknowledged or addressed the rating will remain as is for me.

One of the best coloring apps I've seen so far. Lots of different color choices, and all the paintbrushes are very helpful. It's paywalled, but it's not SUPER annoying to deal with like other apps. One thing though - i think it may have a small glitch. I was working on coloring something, and when i tried to exit and save, the whole app crashed, and that specific art refused to load and open, and it still isn't working. Other than that it's a great game, very relaxing.

However, i have had 2 different paintings (out of the 3 that i worked on) not auto save correctly. There is nothing worse that having part of your art removed so then you have to start over again. I have sent an email to tech support with no response. This is the second time. The color wheel also would be great if it could have more options. The paint brush can be to fat at times for intricate works. The 2 stars is mostly for the frustration of auto save. Also, it would be good to have a tab that has “my purchases” rather than assuming that everyone has the subscription. Haven’t tried other apps, but this one is okay if you doing the painting in one sitting only.

Amazing game... until. I wanted a coloring app on my phone so I looked and looked then I found this one. I was so excited and I thought hey that this would be a great game. And it is... but only if you get the premium. And you have to pay. And I sure there are other people who have said this but I’ll still say it. The only way for me to keep this game is if 1) I pay to get premium and be able to actually play or 2) if they give me more pictures to paint from. If you don’t get the premium you only have about 18 pictures to use. When there are over 800 pictures to use for not having premium and only getting about 18 of them to use is just not okay. The pictures are amazingly beautiful but you can’t paint them if you don’t pay. So this game is only geed if you get the premium.

Good but could be better. Great controls and colors but the free picture options are very limited. Having limited options for free users is understandable but there is an issue where a lot of the choices are not something that everyone would like to do. A suggestion to improve this is to have a limited NUMBER of free ones but to let the people CHOOSE which ones they get for free, like a set amount of free tokens each day to use on any picture they want. This improvement would easily push this up to a 5 star rating from me. The example is that I have been using this app for about a week and there have been around 20-30 different pictures for free but only 4 that I actually have any interest in doing.

Wonderful Coloring App!. My computer died a week ago and I had an iPad I had no idea how to to use. I bought it to do graphics on and then my world went on hold for a year taking care of my mom. Now the iPad is all I have and I loves to color. The pages and colors pallets in here are easy and fun to work with. You can color by just filling everything in or you can make some cool patterns with the spray can brush. I am loving the journal and have been trying to use it each day. It is a wonderful way to relax at the end of a day. CONS: The only thing missing for me is a Blender brush. If you added that in I would say this program is perfects to take on vacations so as a colorist you would never have to over pack. For the few times on vacation you might want to color you could do it all in this program. Do you think you will never add a blender/smudge brush? Thank you for this program either way. I am enjoying it.

I regret paying for the subscription. The recent update ruined my project I was working on, and the interface makes coloring less enjoyable. I am very upset and will be looking for a new coloring app. Very sad since many of the artists on Lake are quite talented and unique. You can no longer carry over your recently used colors to other works in progress, and now all the tools are spread around the edges so they’re not all in one place. Extremely frustrated and disappointed. I would have expected an update to include a better framework for organizing your gallery and works in progress, but there are still no personal settings or options to keep your work in any particular order

The app is good, but could have some improvements. I downloaded this app a few days ago, and I used it nonstop. But as I continued using the app, some problems started to arise. 1. When you are coloring, you are only limited to pastel-like colors. For instance, you cannot draw with the color red, or dark pink. 2. When I used the app, (the free membership) you are only able to color one drawing a day, that is completely random and up to the app. Besides that, the app only gives you about 4 more pages, and that’s all you get. 3. The app is very streamline, cute, and fun to use, but overtime, it just becomes very exhausting to use, especially with the limited tools and colors (especially) Overall, I’m sure that this app is amazing....if your willing to pay about $70 a year, and that’s just the current 47 percent off sale. There are many drawings that look very interesting. I would recommend adding more free drawings, maybe one every time you complete a drawing, to keep you going. Thank you for the wonderful app. I’ll update my review if the app changes, or updates.

So awesome I forked out money. I NEVER pay for any entertainment app, I get bored very easily. I’ve tried a color by number pixel coloring app and have spent time on it, however I would never pay for it. Lake on the other hand is amazing! I like that i dont have to worry about coloring inside the lines, I get frustrated easily in real life coloring because of stray lines. The art is beautiful and varied enough that I don’t get bored. Truely love the app and even bought a year subscription! So unlike me and that should tell you how cool it is

Overall good, some small glitches. So overall I enjoy this app; the selection is a little mediocre but some are true gems. Overall functionality works great. Lack of color choices is a problem though. I am having one really annoying glitch, and that’s the inability to continue getting the free 1 a day drawings. For the past week the app has continued to say the last drawing is “new” and then resets the countdown, but then logging in the same drawing says it’s “new” and resets all over again, so I have about 20 free drawings but can’t get the full 60 with this glitch. The last drawing I’ve received for free has been a house, not sure how else to describe it.

This app is terrible. I love coloring apps a lot and have tried lots of different ones, but this one is a waste of time. I was really excited to try this app because it looked different and really fun. I really enjoyed all of the different ways to use brushes, the color wheel where you could try/pick different colors, and I also enjoyed how the artist provided you with a color pallet with the picture. But once you get to try a picture there are only like ten other portraits you can do. Everything else you have to pay for a membership for?!?!?!! I found this very annoying ridiculous, mostly because art should be free for everyone to enjoy. Anyway I will be deleting this app and not getting it again which is a shame because I was super excited. Anyway I advise you to not get this if you’re not willing to oh for stuff. 😑🙅

A Hidden gems with nicks. First off the good parts. I love the app. It’s seemless, nicely designed and the art is wholesome and entertaining... to look at. This brings me to the second point. Almost all of the app you have to pay to get the illustrations. And honestly I wouldn’t mind paying, if I had the money. I think there was only 7 or so free illustrations. I understand that lake has to support the artists and has to bring in revenue. But I would like some more intricate and detailed work. Maybe 1 or 2 drawings. That’s all. But other than that some awesome work and would love to see more apps on par with the quality of this app.

Love this app!. I think this app is great! My favorite part is that you get a free daily coloring page without paying for a subscription. Then you have several different options to choose from if you decide you want more, the best being that you can purchase from a specific artist. This also gives you an opportunity to view designs from multiple artists and decide what you like best. Thank you to the developers of this app, it is very calming and really helps me to relax! One suggestion would, it would be nice to have a few more options in the tools section.

GREAT coloring app. Lake is so far the best coloring app that I have had. When you buy the premium version, you get tons of different coloring pages by various different artists. Also, you get a variety of different colors (cloudy, sunny, and rainy colors) and there is even a spray-painting brush. My one and only complaint is that there is no option to shade, but everything else is great. The art is very unique, and there are many different types of artwork on the app. It really takes up a lot of your time (good for the Covid19 self-quarantine), and this app was definitely worth the money.

re-downloaded and the app won't respond. I use to have this app not too long ago but deleted it to free up space. Today i thought it would be fun to re-download Lake. I opened the app and it showed me the 50% off full access ad. After I clicked out of the ad, the home page showed up but the colors were dimmed and I couldn't click on anything. I'm still rating Lake 5 stars because I remember it having amazing color options and the free selections of coloring photos were great. I would recommend if it works on your device.

Lake is the best of all the coloring apps for many reasons, but the main reason is this: the coloring pages are all created by independent artists who love what they do and put their heart into what they create, and it really shows. The coloring pages have a real sincerity and meaning to them that you can’t find in other run-of-the-mill coloring apps. It makes coloring much more enjoyable, and the finished product more beautiful. There are many art styles and subjects, and they’re always adding more artists which I love and really look forward to. Amazing job guys! It’s no wonder this app got Editor’s Choice.

I really like it but I would like more options. I really love all the different coloring page options and how diverse they are it’s unlike any other coloring app and I really appreciate it. I just do wish that they had more tools and options like for blending colors together and the option to create custom colors because even though I like the colors they have it’s kind of hard to make skin tones which I like in my coloring pages. Overall it’s a very nice different app from others but I really hope that they add new features to make it even better.

Relaxing. Thank you guys for the update, even though now is a little bit less accessible for me since are more great arts for coloring but I have to buy...I can wait, not like other reviewers that state that can’t or are picky with things. (For those I recommend to use a great device, I mean good capacity to come and go from one to other task and don’t blame the developers for something that must be run by the type of “smartphone “ or tablet) So, within this weird times in our world, KEEP CALM AND STAY AT HOME coloring or playing or puzzle or well, use whatever app your device can run well. FIXED pinch to zoom always brings up the color picker; limited undos. Really great pages, I enjoy all the colors on the color wheel (does everyone know you can spin the wheel up and down too, not just side to side?) and the fact that you can actually paint within the lines (WITH DIFFERENT TOOLS!), not just paint bucket fill... but man, every time I try to pinch to zoom the color picker comes up and messes me up. EVERY TIME! I swear I’m not holding or tapping hard. It’s a pain, and then I have to find my color again on the color wheel or history (and if I’ve color-picker-pinch-zoomed a few times to look around my work, that’s what fills up the history slots so I can’t actually go back to the color I was using). SUPER irritating. Also, hey, can y’all make the undo button work more than four times? I love everything except those two features. Would seriously buy a subscription if these were fixed. UPDATE: y’all fixed the color picker!!!

AMAZING but one suggestion…. Okay I got this app yesterday and I absolutely love it 😍. I love the whole journal entry thing and the whole layout. What i really like is that you can chose what you like to color so you are not just coloring pictures that don’t suit you. 1 suggestion tho…maybe put a little more free images please, I have been using this app a lot so please put more pictures! I’m Not Gonna Pay for Everything. I had this app long ago I had deleted it because it did not have many free paintings but back then it had WAY MORE paintings that were free. I believe I didn’t have the for 2 years and it’s sad because people just want to color and you make almost everything on the app locked because you want us to pay for it. You need to free up lots of more pages to color many people are poor these day especially with the pandemic in full swing. All I’m asking is to free up many many more paintings so we can have more fun.
