Amazing App!!. I personally love this app so much!! It’s a great way to focus and be rewarded :) I wish there was a better way to see how many donuts you’ve made compared to your friends... maybe a chart of some sort I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyways this is an outstanding app and I would 100% recommend <3

Pretty great!. This is a pretty great app, however the timer still runs if you switch to another app. This may be helpful if you do work on your phone as well, but it keeps me unaccountable and I let myself get distracted. But otherwise it’s an awesome app to download, I didn’t pay at all and still works great!

Great app but it made me lose 6 dollars. I love this app! It’s great to help me focus, but I did buy pro and i didn’t get it. Here’s what happened; I logged into my account on both my phone and iPad. I decided to buy pro on my iPad since my Apple Pay is on my iPad only. I then went on my phone (which had the same account logged in as my iPad) and saw there was no pro! I logged in again and deleted the app and it still hasn’t came. Very disappointed considering I barely use it on my iPad.

Great Customer Service!. I love this app, not only does it help me focus, but when I contacted them about a bug that caused me to not get the premium features that I paid for, they fixed it as soon as possible! Can’t express enough how happy that made me!

Good motivator. I mostly use this to read without distractions but will soon use it for other tasks too. I like that you continue to get donuts if you pass your specific minutes and it feels good feeing the hungry dog at the end of the session or day.

Good but could use improvements. This app had the right idea but didn’t have any incentive other than a gallery. It also let you go to any other applications without loosing a streak which kind of defeats the purpose of not getting distracted...

It’s ok as of now. It’ll be great when updated.. Love the app. It’s a great concept, but it’s the first release right now. There have been no updates. This means it’s buggy, and slow. Sometimes you click something several times, and it just does nothing. It always takes way too long to load at the start (between 30 seconds to 1 minute). Usually it takes 5 seconds for a button to register. I’ve noticed that it will sometimes randomly reset the timer for focusing, and not register my hard work... These things can be fixed, and if they were, I’d rate it 5 stars. Hopefully we’ll get an update that solves some of these problems soon!

Not that helpful. Is it supposed to stop the machine when you leave the app? Because i can still play games and text with the clock still running. The no cheating feature is pro only, so can it not help with distractions when you don’t have pro? Also i have had the timer going for an hour and only have 6 donuts?

Great for school. Keeps me from going on my phone when I need to do work

Ate my $10 and never heard back from developer. I purchased focus dog pro (one-time $10 purchase) and about a day later the app glitched, only showing a blank screen when I tried to re-open the app. I deleted it and redownloaded it to try to reset it and when it came back, my purchase was gone with no way to “restore purchase.” I emailed the developer several times over the course of a month and no response. Spent $10 to get a feature and now I no longer have access to that feature with no response from the developer. It was a cute app but I CANNOT recommend it given it took my $10 and I don’t even have access to what the $10 was supposed to unlock. Don’t waste your money and risk this happening to you. :(

Author needs more gold?. In each new version the functionality is cut even more. The free feature became paid is “1 hour”. I could understand you just make it paid. But you force to update users from the version with free feature to the version in which this feature is paid. And it is really bad

Meh. This app could be better if the app could actually recognize when you are using another app because the time still counts when you are off the app

Cheating. Well, I actually really like this app, but you can still cheat. Even though it says it will notify you when you go to another app, it doesn’t. The clock just keeps on running. But overall, the graphics are really cute and the intentions are great.

fun app!. I got this app a few days ago and it’s fun to see your donuts keep piling up!! I think it would be great if, like others have said, there were customization options but also adding more detailed stats like daily logs (how much time you spent on each tag, etc) or the ability to press pause and take a break. It would be fun if Focus had an animation when eating donuts, or a story or illustration once a certain number of hours/donuts is reached... or if Focus brought his/her (its?) family along and you could “adopt” them or otherwise spice the app up. A visualization of my time spent really helps motivate me. I’d really appreciate a daily log, pause function, or easier way to access data first though!

Great!. I have been addicted to my phone never do anything then came this app! It is so fun and super funny! Now I am on my phone maybe 20 minutes a day! Because I want to get as many donuts as possible! There was one time I started it and was not on my phone for 8 days! I went from level 3 to 16 LOL! Now I am thinking about pro! Great app good job guys!

Love this app so much!. It’s super cute and it really does help me stay focused. I highly prefer it over the Forest app. Keep up the great work devs! One small thing, it’s be great if we could change the color of tags! And maybe increase the tag limit? I’d also love to see more dogs and being able to customize it! Maybe we could interact with our dog more? Such as dressing it up or petting or washing it.

Really cute app!. I really really like this app and use it daily my ONLY complaint would be that I can’t use my coins to purchase a new donut machine without purchasing the pro version. Maybe you guys could make a couple that you are able to purchase with your coins instead of having to go pro. I am a single mom of 4 and try to use apps that don’t require real money considering money is super tight especially in our economy these days. Just a suggestion otherwise I would totally rate it 5 stars and recommend it to everyone I know because it does help you focus on things other than your phone!! Thank you for your time😀

Perfect!!!. This should be only app you’ll ever need to focus on, my life has finally changed and been organized ever since I downloaded the app and couldn’t ask for a better one. Though I would like to see Focus eat my donuts to give even more enthusiasm!

Zero Support. I am sick and tired of this ill-prepared app. I have reached out to support by email, bug reports, and even Facebook messages and receive nothing in return. I bought the paid version of this app and wow what a joke it is. It constantly shuts off your timer, to where you could have even LIFTED your phone, and two hours later (after receiving notifications on my app congratulating me for going on for one hour, two hours, etc., that my time was over and ended at 00:00. Unbelievable! Why am I paying for an app that doesn't do the one thing it's supposed to? At this point I can just use a regular old Apple timer on my phone and call it a day. Beyond disappointing, especially the lack of customer service.

Wow!. I'm surprised by this app. It is really good, and I appreciate you being able to make it downloadable on iPad, especially my ancient mini gen 1. The design is very simple and cute, and I love it. As for the app, it works perfectly and has an element of responsibleness needed to complete tasks, which makes the user engage in their productivity. Great overall! No bugs so far. 😄

Confusion Resolved!. This app has helped me put my phone down and leave it, but I am extremely confused! I've collected donuts for around 8 or 9 hours total now, and I see which ones I've collected before I press "stop" (to end the timer or once I've reached my goal), yet I have not advanced in any of the donut collection goals! I tried pressing the donuts before stop this time around to see if I'm supposed to physically collect them, but that didn't do anything. I've collected over 50 donuts (according to the game stats). Is this a glitch? Am I doing something wrong? I'd love to advance with the goals, so any input is welcome! Update: I'm just dumb and didn't know what to look for!

I love this app so much. It helps make work fun when your work is feeling demotivating, especially all alone now I work from home. I can’t recommend it enough. One thing is I wish I could see more of is my friends stats, not just their level. How many donuts did they make that day?? Would make for better competition and accountability.

timers and notifications. hello! i've just recently got the app and i was wondering if you could start adding in custom timers? like a focus for 25 min (like the pomodoro technique) to get a donut? it'd also be better if the app could notify you when you reach your desired time, and when you're using another app while trying to focus. other than that, the app is really cute and i enjoy using it.

I really like the concept.... ...but I feel like I’m doing something wrong? I focused for over two hours today (trying to not browse my phone during my classes), and I earned zero donuts, somehow? There are more instances than not that I don’t end up earning any donuts despite spending a good chunk of time without touching my phone or closing the app.

I really want to love it.. I love the idea of this app. I want to love it in practice. It has helped me stay focused, and dramatically decreased the amount of time I spend on my phone. My issue is that in the 25+ hours I have logged, I haven’t made any progress on the quests that require “normal” donuts even though that’s what I’m collecting. The daily and hourly sections never make any progress, so how are they daily and hourly. I have to get SIXTY of a donut variety to be able to upgrade it, which takes days. I understand focusing is a longterm life skill, but when creating a new habit it would be nice to incentives small progress. It was also difficult to find a line to ask questions to the development team without writing a mediocre review. I attempted to submit one, but after writing and sending it got a message saying I didn’t have access or something to that effect.

Engaging pomodoro timer - I actually use. This is the first pomodoro timer I actually use. It motivates me and I want to feed Focus!

Where are they. So I bought pro and I didn’t get the twenty gems that were supposed to come with it. Also, what are these “Better tags” the pro version talks about. I’d love some help about these problems. Aside from that, great app, really helps me focus.

Bugs fixed quickly + suggestion. The latest update fixed the Focus feeding bug, and fast!! Thank you so much!! I have a suggestion— I love the functionality and simplicity of this app, which makes me want to use it beyond studying. However, I don’t want to mess up my stats because the stats are as motivating as the donuts! Is it possible to get the option to sort hours/streaks by tag? It’s an option I’d be willing to pay more for, personally.

4.7 to be exact on what my rate it. I really enjoy this app. Though, when you leave the app, it doesn’t do anything. I have more than 90 hours rn because I want all of the donuts and stuff.

Pretty good app. This is a good app, it’s kinda copying the concept of the Forest app. I wish that there was a button to see all the donuts, and there was more to the store. And it says that you can’t switch the app or go on your phone, and that’s not true I’m still able to be on my phone and still bake donuts. It kinda defeats the concept of the whole app, fix this app please

It is so fun that it keeps me going. I love how fun it is and the fact that it is so fun is what motivates me. I just wish that there was some part of the app where I can see my focus and maybe pet it during breaks or something. Ignore me if this feature already exists for pro users or something.

Adorable and useful!. I love this app! As a self-employed writer, I often have a hard time focusing and managing my time, but Donut Dog makes it easy and fun! The graphics and interface are charming. Big tasks seem less daunting when you tackle them in 5-25 minute sessions, and this app, unlike your standard phone timer, allows you to generate cutesy donuts with every session you complete and increase the happiness of your virtual dog! Pleasing the dog, collecting new donut recipes, and unlocking rewards by completing quests is proving to be a surprisingly effective motivator for me. EVEN BETTER, you can use the gems you earn as you level up to sponsor meals for REAL dogs in need at a European non-profit! I highly recommend this app for folks like me who have a hard time getting started and staying on-task (and are motivated by the thought of feeding virtual and/or real dogs). Thank you for making this game and supporting hungry dogs!

Turns focusing into a game!. As an ADHDer in a demanding job, this app was just what I needed! In the space of about six weeks, I went from barely being able to get through a thirty-minute session to being able to study for an hour and a half. And Patrick is super helpful and responsive if you’re having an issue with the app!

Almost There.... This can truly be a phenomenal app. I’m looking forward to the next update. Hopefully it’s less buggy. My donuts aren’t showing up anywhere, so it defeats the purpose visually for me. I will keep the app, and I’m looking forward to changing this to 5 starts when it’s updated and the bugs are fixed! 😉

Wow. This app has been one of the many I’ve tried to help me focus, and is the only one to succeed. I am the type of person who loves to reach towards goals, but has a hard time doing so. This app lets me reach small goals inside the app, by reaching larger ones outside of it. If you’re a similar type of person, this app is perfect. ❤️

More of the dog!. I really like this app and it is helping me focus. I just have a few suggestions, well one! More graphics. After I have gotten a bunch of donuts I want to see the dog chow down on them. Really nom on my hard work. Hitting a button and getting confetti is nice but as a true 90s kid, who kept her Gigapet alive, I want to see that he is hungry and then not when I feed him. And name him if possible. Not a programmer so I don’t know how hard this would be but it would enhance the experience! Also maybe if you could feed him a few at a time instead of all the ones, I don’t know, but more graphics!

You should get this app it’s free. It is helpful and free. So why not give it a try, plus the cute dog and outfits are encouraging low key :) it’s cute and helpful.

<3 Focus Dog!!!. hey! I love this app so much. It has made me so much more productive! I’m normally not the type to write a review but this app is just too good to not write a review. I was diagnosed with ADHD about a week ago and this app really helps with my attention span. I would totally recommend this app if you struggle with ADHD and procrastination. There are only a couple of things I would like to see. I think it would be really cool if you added more outfits for focus. He is so cute and I love every single outfit for him I just think it would be cool to see more. I also have another idea for earning the donuts. I think you should be able to earn more donuts by how many hours you set a timer. So like if you do maybe 2 hours you can earn any of the following donuts. Remember these are just suggestions/ideas. There is no hate at all here. Thank you so much for creating a super immersive game and I hope I will continue to use this game! 😄❤️

So happy I found this app. This is a well made app! It’s very cute and it works! I have so much trouble with procrastination. I’ve used A LOT of different apps. Most of them are ones where I plant trees, which got kind of boring after a while. I like this one because I have a choice on whether I want a set timer or if I just want to start the timer from zero. There are a lot of things to unlock. One thing I would like is if I would be able to choose my own dog and watch him eat or grow when I feed him the donuts I’ve earned. The free version works well, but I decided to do the one-time payment for this app because I wanted to buy an indie developer some coffee.

It’s great, I just wish you could customize Focus.. This is my favorite pomodoro productivity app! I love the little message Focus sometimes sends me the day after I get a lot done. I would love to see more cute messages like this. Something else that would really make the app click for me would be the ability to customize Focus or choose between different dog designs for Focus. Focus is cute, but he doesn’t really look like a dog. I think given the option I would choose a different look for him. If I had my own customized version of Focus, I would be even more motivated to get him his donuts! 😊

Fun productivity app. This is an app I find myself consistently using when I really need to focus. I actually look forward to the stuff I used to dread like studying just so I can make more progress on the app. The developer is also super awesome at listening to feedback and fixing bugs. Highly recommend.

Love the app! Just a tiny suggestion.... This is a very cute app! I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a little extra motivation to focus on their studies or things other than their phone. I would like to say, however, that I think it would be much more satisfying if we got to watch focus physically eating the donut and then wagging his tail or something, instead of the donuts just disappearing :)

I don’t regret getting pro version. I really love this app! It’s made grad school more bearable. It keeps me motivated to stay on task and I also like how you can tag your sessions so that you can see how much time you’ve spent on a certain task or activity. I’ve organized mine by class so I can see how much time overall I’m spending on each subject. That being said every now and again when I try to look a the timeline/ name tags it will randomly close me out of the app. It isn’t the biggest of deals but it’s sorta annoying, but don’t let that stop you it’s a very cute app and I appreciate the simple design.

Super super helpful if you have ADHD. I have adhd & this trouble focusing and also get distracted. Also helpful if you’re trying to make yourself put down your phone to fall asleep. It’s a pretty simple concept (immediate, visible reward for not checking your phone to give you feedback + motivation to stay away) but it works super well for me. Turning this on really just allows me to ignore my phone. Plus you get cute donuts for a cute dog. I usually set a goal for ~20 min and often end up going way over. It’s great. If you use this, I often also put my phone in another room, in a drawer, or under a blanket when I have the timer on to make it even easier to take a break from my phone.

Love!. I love this game or productivity app! (Whatever you want to call it) It is a really cool idea and it works! I do have a complaint. I know, I know, party popper me. First, you should let the non-pro people buy some stuff! We’re not aloud to buy new machines or backgrounds! If we can’t buy anything, what’s the point behind the money? I know, I know, the goals. Great but...... It does not really work for the reason it’s meant to. I love the game but and the donut dog but it is meant to keep you off your phone/iPad and the timer keeps going while you are off the app, so it is marking you go on the app more to check it. But apart from that is is a really good idea and I love it (look I gave it a five star). Also what would be a good idea would be if you could change the character of you “donut dog” and could feed it something out her than donuts, and Make it so it can die if your on your phone/iPad. Feedback for DONUT DOG.. I downloaded app, thinking just as a ordinary app with tons of ads and prices. I was actually surprised when the whole thing is FREE. But it has some ADS which I don’t mind because the app is totally worth it!!!! Donut dog is awesome,I get to feed FOUS and I can know how long I spent doing things. Great app to help focus. It is a great app that helps you keep track of your work habits, it also sends you notifications to remind you to focus on something. The system is well made and its a fun little concept to feed donuts to feed the doggo. Free version has great functionality I personally payed to support the dev. I recommend it to people who do many activities and want to keep track of how much time you spend on them

Disappointed. Even if you paid for like $5, you only get 5 different tags. And you can not review the records from last week. Last Sunday I studied pass 0:00, and when I was done, I saw nothing, just because it was already a new week. I didn’t even know how long I studied just now. Very bad design!!

Brilliant, but if only.... I love this app so much and use it every day which is why it would much more convenient if there was a horizontal version. Also, it would be really nice if, after we made donuts, instead of a whole page appearing to congratulate us and then we have click an "x", it was just a small bubble on the side doing the same thing, but it disappears by itself after a second or two. Waiting for the page to appear and then having to click the "x" becomes a little tiring at one point. But other than these small details, the app is wonderful. Keep up the good work and the app free, please!

‘Doughnate’ to charity. Great app, wonderful design. I would be more motivated to collect donuts if they acted as currency and I was able to ‘doughnate’ them to charity. Similar to the Forest app, but with more charities to donate to.

Awesome app but there's room for improvement!. I got this because it seemed a lot more interesting than Flora/Forest and I freaking love dogs!! As a budding computer programmer, I really appreciate all the details the developer put into this app. There is literally tons of different donuts you can collect (and who doesn't like to complete collections?) and it tracks your stats like how many days in a row you've been using the app and how many hours and donuts you've made. The graphics are cute and bubbly, the sound effects fit well with the content and it isn't distracting. You do have to pay for the "donut pro" to access the notification feature (the app detects when you leave it) but it's like the best $4 you'll spend. It makes working and putting in the time to study "fun" again. Instead of dreading long hours working/studying, I look forward to making donuts!! There are some features I would like to see added (if possible ❤️): one is a whitelist for apps you can access, so if you leave donut dog and visit one of the approved apps, the timer will still run (not sure if that's possible with iOS but I would love this feature sooo much!). A whitelist would help me run this app on my iPad but still get work done when I'm not active on it. Another feature I would love is adding customization to Focus! It would be awesome to be able to unlock different breeds for the dog and also accessories like collars, toys, etc. Furthermore, a more detailed statistics page would be much appreciated. Right now, I have trouble looking at the specific sessions in a week; if the bar graph can be navigated on a different page and made larger to see the different sessions, it would make me really happy. Overall I would recommend this app to my friends (and already have!). Thank you for developing this awesome app!

Cute concept. This is a cute concept but every single time my screen goes to sleep or I turn the screen off, I get a notification saying “come back or the machine stops”. Then I lose all of my progress. How is this helping me put my phone down when I can’t let it go to sleep? Using the iPhone X.

Can’t even get in the app?!. Every time I click the app it just shows a blank page of blue and then goes back to the main screen. Literally what is happening?!

Lots of potential, but a little buggy!. The app does what it’s supposed to—that is, it tracks your focus time and exchanges it for donuts! I especially like the fact that you can just turn on the tracker and not have to set a specific time frame. So glad that the donut-counting bug was fixed. However, I am having issues with the anti-cheat feature. I know it’s still in beta, but as someone who uses their phone while the work for spellings and quick questions, having this feature would be awesome. When I had it off, I left the app (but left the timer running in the background) for what couldn’t have been more than a minute, returned, and saw that the app had restarted with the quote loading screen. I hit the anti-cheat switch on, restarted the timer, and then left the app again. On this return, the app hadn’t restarted, but the timer had been stopped. While writing this review, I had the timer running and anti-cheat off. Periodically switching back to the app, it seems to be working fine. Maybe it was a one-time fluke? Anyway, as someone who beta-tests coding for a friend, I know how crucial it can be to hear any issues, one-time or no. There are a couple of improvements I’d really like to see! First off, sound effects. What’s the point of all the buttons if they don’t make click noises? I’d also like to see a more navigable, aesthetically pleasing home screen. Perhaps fill the half-empty screen with the dog? The layout took some getting used to due to the fast pace of the tutorial, and I think it can be clarified and streamlined. Maybe put all the buttons in one area, or create multiple pages that can be swiped through (a settings, social, challenges, donuts, and machine page). This may be small, but I would LOVE if the user could customize the app more. While the pastel multi-colored aesthetic I’m sure works for some people, I’m personally a fan of more muted tones when focusing. A darker theme would be amazing! On the same customization strand, I get that the dog is like the mascot of the app, but frankly he’s a little strange looking. Which I appreciate as a design choice! But it’d be super cool if you could kinda customize your own dog using the donuts you earn from focusing. In all, a fun app with barrel loads of potential! Looking forward to future updates and features!

This app is a lie. Not only does this app not send u notifications when u leave it also has in app purchases for you to make. The dog you feed isn’t even cute!

Lost $10 on Pro +. Bought the Pro + for $10 in the App but did not get the Pro Access. I logged out and logged back in. I deleted and re-installed the app with no success. Buyers beware. Contacting developer and awaiting response.

Engaging pomodoro timer app. Update April 3 2023: the developer fixed the issue pretty promptly! Happy to go back to using the plus version of the app—such a big help with motivation. 5 stars for a helpful engaging tool and for responsiveness to customers. Update April 1 2023: an update seems to have removed my pro version. This is really frustrating. I’m attempting to get it restored but no luck yet. Just a warning for others who liked this app and wanted the bonus version. Even if you think you paid for the pro version permanently, that may not be reliable. Motivates me to work and study on days when I’m tired and depressed

Interesting. The app is pretty interesting but it ignores the silence mode on your phone and plays audio when you have your phone in vibrate mode only
