Frustrating. Frustrating It snaps pictures when it feels like it. When it thinks it has a picture. At other times it doesn’t automatically take a picture when it is aligned. Also locks up my phone.

So far so good. Hi! I purchased the VIP level. And so far so good. I do have a couple of questions though: 1 -is it possible to change the default to no filter? I’m finding that with the pictures I am scanning in, no filter is best. But I have to keep changing it from Unfade to no filter. 2 -is it possible to change the time out on the preview? The option to rotate or immediately trash it goes away so quickly! 3 - Is it possible to use the 2x lens on an iPhone? Many thanks!

Pass on the Free version and. All versions of this app are Unfade, Unfade Lite, Unfade Pro, Unfade VIP. The same attributes are listed in the description so I didn’t know why each versions were priced differently for the same presumed features. I sent an email asking for the difference to developers but no answer. It was the holidays so I figured the developers were off. I went ahead and downloaded the free version today. It’s only when I opened app that the developers’ introductory video shared the differences. Here’s the info so you know, too and determine what app is best for you. Free = 20 scans Lite = unlimited scans Pro = unlimited scans plus the editing stuff VIP = all the above and one more thing. This looks like a great app. I’m going to uninstall the free version and think about which app to buy or another way to scan my ancestors’ pictures. Another plus for this app is that it does NOT require a subscription to use like the other apps I’ve researched in the AppStore.

Great features but get me OUT!!. Easy and good quality and quick BUT I now hate it because I want to drop from VIP subscription and can’t—-no where can I find it in settings or any other parts of app.

Thank you!. I have so many old pictures from decades past. I needed an app that would preserve my family pictures for the generations to come. My pictures were starting to be ruined with mold and age. Now they can last. Thank you for making it simple and uncomplicated to preserve my memories.

I can do all of this with instagram? $15 down the toilet. I just paid $15 assuming there would be a useable service on this app, nope. The only features are the upload, cropping and several grainy filters of different hues. It does not clean up images or even correct color, just lets you pick through 15 or so useless filters. It’s interface isn’t super user friendly either, even if the app was properly advertised and with out the ridiculous price it’s still a waste of space.

Not working!!. I bought the pro version a couple of hours ago and I’m trying to restore photos for a funeral that’s in 2 days. My purchase went through and my card was charged but it keeps telling me to try later and restore my purchase😩 Could I please get a refund? I had to go with another app as time is of the essence

Misleading. I purchased the VIP service because it explicitly states that there's a ”magic restore button”. There's not. Adding a filter that I can get for free in other apps is not the same as restoring an old photo nor does adding a filter really make an old worn photo look better in the slightest. $6.99 for absolute garbage.

Thanks for helping me keep dad’s memory alive. Thanks so much for creating & developing this app. My father died when I was 2 years old (I’m 31) and I wanted to create a collage using old photos of him for Father’s Day. I haven’t had the best luck in the past - even with office scanners. But with your app, I was able to scan the photos easily and they look so amazing! Some other apps/tools will try to overcompensate for the lack of HD quality with over saturation, excessive contrast, etc. Your app maintained the authenticity yet somehow improved the quality without changing the overall feel and aesthetic of the photo from the original film. Thanks so much for helping me keep the memory of my dad alive!

Unfade. This is wonderful..so easy to use. I did have to buy it after trying it out on a few pictures. Don’t usually buy for one, but glad I did.

Disappointed again.. This app was the most promising without costing a fortune, until I tried it. It was good for taking a picture of a print, but it has such a limited ability to edit the print. I the filters do some color correct. Unfortunately, it does not allow for density or exposure. When dealing with older photos which may have had fade or exposure issues this app will not help. So far for Apple who was an early photo editor company I am disappointed yet again for the photo apps.

Very fast capture with good results. The video explaining how to use the app was a good length and clear as well.

Not seeing a whole lot of options. Just paid for premium and I don’t see where I can choose to enhance my old photos. Just see the filters options. Please advise how to optimize use of this app. Update: No response from developer - no surprise since there is no help or support available . There are so many better choices. Tried to get a refund from Apple and I am stuck with this lousy app. Big waste of $

Super Easy and Accurate. The scanning is fast, easy and accurate. What more could you ask for in an app like this. Really a great tool.

Works better than my office scanner. This $6.99 app works better than the hundred dollar scanner that I have in my house & is so much easier to use *sigh* LOL I just got married & both of our parents gave me boxes full of ALL of our childhood photos, but I was able to get them ALL scanned in a total of probably 6-8 hours over a couple of days. So in 1 work day, both of our childhoods were documented & saved... THATS CRAZY! Using my home office scanner it would’ve taken 4 times that long! The quality of the scans is amazing, & some photos even come out with better shading than the original! Well worth every penny!!!

Charged me, but didn’t give me unlimited photos, only 23.. Did the free trial, it only let me scan about 20 pictures. I purchased the $5.99 a month option so I could scan more, it never did. I canceled and am out the $5.99. Seemed like a good app but not worth it if I can’t scan more pictures. Can’t recommend.

Frustrating. Having trouble getting pics to my computer. Tried emails, tried sending directly to computer. Also scanned many photos into an album, only HALF appeared in album. Had to rescan the other half. VERY ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING

Sad. Purchased this app to scan photos of my father-in-law's funeral. I was looking for a fast way scan, edit and email the photos. This app seemed to be the answer. Sadly I'm having difficulty in the app even recognizing the photo no matter what angle I hold my phone. Tried reaching out to customer service... Wow! Easy!. I scanned about 30 b/w pictures within a minute of downloading this app! Then I went back and did the fine cropping on all of them in about two minutes. Soooo easy to use. Exactly what I hoped for! I downloaded the free version to try it. Going back to purchase the pro version now. Love it! All my family pics will be digitized in short order. Thank you for making this app!!

Filter is not worth the money. I got this to scan old photos to send for a video project. The scan works well the picture scan great but the free app only allow you to scan a limited amount. So I bought the upgrade to scan additional pictures and also thinking that it would have a tacked photo correction. I was wrong the filters are basically the same filters you can get everywhere else for free. If you are just looking for an app to scan old photos this is the one , but if your looking for anything else I can not suggest this app.

Exceptional Quality and Straightforward. Very pleased overall with the Unfade Pro app. Straightforward and the quality is exceptional. I have been able to save, restore and preserve precious memories for years to come. The kids love this app because they get to see pictures clearly, edit and photoshop and then hear stories about our childhood. Very happy with this app!!!

Photo scanner PRO. I upgraded to the pro version, paid the additional fee & can’t get into it. I keep getting an error message that says “oops something went wrong.” I can’t get ahold of anyone to help rectify this. I’ve sent an email with no response. It’s good when it works but if something goes wrong good luck in getting help. I will never use this app again. I’m disappointed.

Worked well for my free 20 photos. So I was looking into paying for the cheapest plan. Is it monthly, yearly or one time only? I can’t find any info on this. For what it’s worth I was able to share my photos with my family after moving it to a shared album. I’ve tried other scanning apps that were very particular about the angle, Unfade just tells you to get closer, get the edges of the picture in the frame or back up some. Super easy. Just need to clear up the billing before I commit.

Terrible App. I scanned 300 photos into this app and can’t see any of them. I can’t email them to myself nor print them. I bought the pro package! Tech support has not solved the problem. They reply with answers not related to my issue. Tech support is more then willing to end the conversation even though repeatedly I informed them my problem is not solved! This app is a total waste of time!

Where is my 20 dollar package??!!?????. Purchased the highest package for a wedding to scan photos. Still waiting to be able to scan more than the original 18. Waiting to be able to turn on iCloud. Waiting. Waiting.

Was great, not any more. This app was working great until I purchased the premium version. Now, when I want to scan or add photo, it keeps wanting me to pay. I checked and my subscription ends in a year. Very disappointed.

Scanned a drawing perfectly!. I used Unfade to scan a hand drawn picture of my son that was hanging on the wall and it turned out better than the picture looks! Now I have a digital copy of my drawing that is crystal clear. Very happy with Unfade, it works great and I would recommend it to someone looking for a scanner.

Needed to scan some photos fast. This app is definitely fast, sometimes too fast, taking the picture before you are ready. That is why I only gave it 4 stars. I like that it costs half as much as some of the subscription photo scanners. I tried the free version first but you really can’t do anything except take 20 photos. No way to share or export so you might as well plunk down the $ for the Pro version. I tried another photo scanner that automatically cropped and straightened but it would distort any printing on or near a photo. This one crops but doesn’t distort text. Seems to do everything I want it to.

Loving this app!. I have lots of old albums and am scanning and saving online and to a stick. App is very easy to use and captures the pictures quickly. Tried a couple other apps and was not impressed with them at all.

This one is the best. After trying out a few other apps and not liking the subscription models and blurry images that resulted from them, I stumbled upon this app and quickly fell in love with it. What I love is the detail that is preserved from the photo, the awesome auto-cropping, the even more awesome manual cropping interface, and so much more. What I also love is no monthly subscription, just pay once and you’re done! The downside is this app will capture reflections, so you have to spend a couple hours initially finding the right angle, lighting, and wearing a black shirt and gloves to not get any reflections in the photos, but when you figure that out, it’s amazing how quickly you can digitize all of your photos. You can also set the time tag for all of the photos and that’s the date they will appear in any applications you move them to. Thank you for taking the time to make such a wonderful application!

96 Years Of Photographs. Faced with combining and Cataloging our Family’s history this App is the best. I want to scan, set Year and Month as well as locations and this app does that and is easy to use.

Amazing App. I downloaded over 10 apps to try out and hands down this is the best! It’s super easy to use and does exactly what the developer said it would do. I went ahead and purchased the VIP version and while I’m not exactly sure what the differences are I’m sure I will figure it out. This is the first review I have ever written for any app but I’m so impressed with the quality of the app and the straight forward pricing. Thank you so much!!

Handles most photos. Great app. I hate trying to fix the colors of old photos manually. This app does the annoying work for you, and does it well most of the time but I noticed it doesn’t work with *every* photo. Some are just too “far gone”, I guess. I dunno how powerful the Pro version of this app is, but that’s my experience with this one.

Don’t waste your money!!. Pictures came out blurry and grainy! Filters are no different than you can get on your phone. In fact I deleted the app because I get a better picture just taking pictures of my pictures with my phone camera.

Get this app!!. If your a person that's in sales with Etsy, EBay anywhere, and need to take great photos without using different apps to edit. Then this is your app! I freaking love this!! THANK YOU!!! For saving me soooo much time!! 10 stars!

Purchase unlimited scans but doesn’t let me scan!!!. I purchased the unlimited scans and the funds have cleared but when I try to scan again, it wants me to purchase the next level up. I clicked on the “App support” and took me to another companies website and they were not able to help either.

Made things easy. I needed a way to capture a lot of old photos for a photo mosaic I was making for my aunt’s birthday. Most photos were in old albums and this app helped me to quickly digitize them.

Works much better than PhotoScan. Definitely my new go-to photo scanning app

Removing poor reviews?. I took the time to leave a very detailed review, yet it has disappeared now. This app constantly crashes and you can spend a long period of time scanning photos only for them to become corrupted and not open when you go back to review them. On top of that, the cropping feature is faulty, and the unfade filter that they applied to every photo often makes them look worse. There is no setting to which you can turn off this filter, which is a poor decision by the developers. I paid like 20 or $30 for their VIP membership, and I can’t say that it was worth it. At this point it is hard for me to justify using the app at all when my iPhone continuously comes out with updates that make photographing (my life at work) much easier. Seems like every update this app has just made it worse. Can’t stand it anymore, it’s a waste of time

Trouble seeing photos. After scanning photos. They don’t appear in the app. Or they take ages to appear

Bad marketing. Because this app charges $7.99 and just scans . Then there is a upgrade for $10.99 to do more is a hidden rip off. I would not and did not even try this free limited usage app . Greedy marketing .

Best photo scanner I’ve ever used!. A remarkable program. The pro version does an amazing job adjusting the colours. Looks better the originals. Very easy and quick to use. Well worth the $10!!

Family Sharing Doesn’t Work for In-App. While I think this app does an amazing job and will save me hours in Photoshop, the note on the app page saying this app will work with family sharing is wrong. In-App upgrades will not share through family sharing.

Love it I’ve been able to scan all my family albums.. Love this app, I’ve been able to scan all my mother’s old pictures to create a slideshow.

Unfade does what it’s name says. Have lots of old faded photographs and initial tests look very good.

Easy to use. The app is easy to use. When exporting to photos though the date exports differently to when you’ve put in the app eg I put May 1986 and it exported as 30 April 1996 One thing that I’d like to be able to do though is export as an album. When exporting to photos it exports them all individually. Other than that, it’s quick and easy to make new albums.

Will download Unfade instead and charge you.. Take great care when downloading the photo scanner. The site just automatically downloaded Unfade instead and charged me.

Awesome. I setup a photo scanning rig, which was basically a white box with a super bright LED in it and an iPhone holder, and smashed through 375 photos of photos all cropped and ready for export to my photos library and up into the cloud. I never review anything but this worked so well I had to.

Took my money then didn’t work. Paid for a month of the app but everytime I tried to use it it prompted me to sign up, whenever I clicked restore it said error and would take me back to the membership screen. Waste of $10

Fabulous app!. Tried dozens of other photo scan apps, but this one is by far the best. Does everything I would like it to do...scans & crops quickly, unfades, rearrranges. Etc etc. Definitely recommend! Worth $9.99!

Very convenient but meta data poor. Love this app for capturing old photos. Does a very decent job of correcting colours. Would be awesome if it could uncurl photos! Biggest issue I have is the meta data isn't exported with the photo when you save to Photos in batches. You have to save one photo at a time which is a cumbersome workflow.

Useless. Doesn’t even remotely bring old faded picture back to life. In fact, it made it worse.

Piece of garbage. Why do you think automatic scan is smarter than a human? Your crappy auto photo detection cuts photos and gives no time to properly adjust the lighting and shadows.

For $20 it’s ok.. I personally did not see the hype. It’s just photo program with no special features. The only advantage is the auto cropping and even that....nots so good. You have to go back and redo most of them manually. Photomyne is much better.

Odd framing. This program moves the image in the opposite direction that you move your iPad making it very hard and counter intuitive to frame the photo.

No control over shot. You can’t even control when the camera takes the shot it does it automatically and become very frustrating.

Bad frame. The app frequently misses when it detects the edges of the photo resulting in partial image captures. There doesn’t appear to be a way to manually force it to correctly frame the photo.

Don’t waste your money. This app is not as advertised, and will not “restore” faded photos. They basically add an Instagram-style filter to your scanned picture. Not worth $15

Focus issues. When it works I'm happy with the results, but in many cases the app takes the picture before focusing accurately resulting in blurry output.

Trial Version, but great so far. I have not purchased the full app yet, but I have manipulated 6 photos with the trial version, and I have to say that I am impressed. Not only does it help with color-correction, but it can fix/straighten crooked edges caused by not centering over the scanned photo. There other app from this company, ScanBot, is also great. I have purchased the Pro version of that app, and I honestly expect that I will purchase the pro version of this app as well. Especially if it has a price reduction incentive like ScanBot did. I look forward to exploring this app further.

Did not Receive Service. I purchased the lite version for 7 dollars to receive more than 20 pictures to scan. They completely scammed me.

Somewhat primitive app. I have used this app for a few years, downloading the files to my computer and putting them on a server. The file extensions have somehow gotten changed and the permission on the files are no longer accessible. I reached out for assistance but haven’t heard back yet. When I purchased the app a few years ago it was $6.99 now it show $59.99. Surely someone is watching and helping out when things go awry.

Meh. Tried to scan old photos with iPhone 14 pro max, but the photo was dark and lacking in detail. Perhaps there’s a special technique to use to get good photos, but I was hoping for easy d/t the price.

Can’t restore purchase. I bought this in March 2020.i had to leave school and when I returned in August I was unable to restore purchase. I sent proof and screenshots to company and it’s still not fixed so I asked for a refund and have yet to receive one.
