Well worth the price!. I never pay for apps, but this is truly worth the price… I’ve been using this for over two years, and it’s been a great way to track my lifting progress. It’s highly customizable, which I love, although it took a minute to learn to use. Still, glad I bought it!

Fantastic app for people who actually lift. Great work by the developers on this. I have tried probably every weightlifting app available on the App Store. Heavy Set beats everything else hands down. If you are a lifter, and you have a specific plan you want to execute, this is the app for you. Extremely flexible yet still a well thought out user interface. Great job!

Perfect. I’ve used several other lifting apps, this one is by far the best in my opinion. Great for someone who does their own workout routines and tracks their progress regularly. Takes all the thinking out of the workout so that the only thing you have to focus on is the workout itself. Does all the math, keeps track of rest, previous workout weight/sets/reps for each exercise, etc. Really a great app. 100% worth the fee for the paid version.

Hoping their will be watch capability in the future. The app is very simple and intuitive to use. When you want to tap into the hidden features of the app, the developer has provide alot of help in the form of videos. The only one gripe is that their is no watch capabilities. I know that developer can since his other app is able to. I just hope in the future, this feature becomes available.

Wow, 5 minutes already regretting this. The exercise list is just sloppy, cable exercises non-existent, machine exercises likewise, assisted? Dumbbells or barbell? Forget it The devil is in the details, and if you want subscribers then do the work and expand the list or at least provide the longer list and let users select the ones they need; why is it our job to create Chest Fly (cable), Cable Crossover, no exercises related to Smith machines. Triceps extension? That’s it? No Triceps cable ext? Overhead two-hand? Pullovers? Skullcrushers? I workout in four different gyms all with different equipment options, I need flexibility in my exercises and tracking. I need to change from kg to lbs because the machine is in pounds. I need to use a Smith because they don’t have a standard squat rack. I need to change to dumbbells or cable because there isn’t a bar. You can’t do any of that on the fly in this app. Cmon the logging piece is nice, there are some good things, but I’m going back to Strong. Enjoy the $10 donation.

Good app with GUI you have to get used to. Free trial limits how many times you can enter an exercise and I was able to "waste" all of them just fumbling around in one day due to complex GUI. Developer should seriously consider something like a week long trial. Anyway, paid version is great, delivers all the features I need. Once you get use to it, it is very intuitive. Support is also great, got all my question answered in timely fashion.

Awesome workout Log!. If you’re looking for a way to log your workouts for tracking and planning purposes, don’t look any further! Amazing... make sure to watch the video tutorials under the support tab. This will help understand how to use the app. It’s pretty involved and thorough and takes a little practice to master. But after setting up a few workouts, it’s very user friendly. Mid workout, you’ll be able to see past workout data for an exercise quickly and easily. You’ll be able to identify maximum reps for different weights used. You can setup supersets, giant sets, and more. Fantastic! A nice touch is the ability to also track your rest times, to ensure you at following correct rest periods, as well as monitor your tempo during an exercise.

Basic. If compared with similar apps there is not a huge distinction. As the name suggests it is really set up for weight routines and there doesn’t feel really compatible for cardio or other non-weight routines. But unlike some other apps it does allow for circuit set ups which other apps I’ve used do not. Also the pairs app seconds you purchase separately but that all being said many of these apps now is a subscription format while this is a single pay set up so if for that reason alone I will stick with this over some competitors like Strong.

Changed my life. With this app I have reinvented my workouts at least 8 times. Each time I try something new and each time I manage the progression. I never go backwards because I always know where I left off. It is amazing and I love it. BTW - this is the first and only time I have submitted a review like this!

Love this app a lot. Just 2 things.... I love the idea. The app execution is outstanding and the UI looks incredible. There is so many features packed into a small little versatile app, but I feel like some essentials are missing. This app doesn’t have an option to log warmup sets, failed sets, or dropped sets. If it does then it has a hard time making it accessible and clear to access. Second, I am unable to input the weights I plan on doing for my next workout. Yes, I can just punch them in while doing it, but having the option to set how much weight you plan on doing would save me some time. Other than those two things this app is fantastic.

I’ve come to love the app. HeavySet has become my go to app to log my workouts. I used to use Strong and tried out a few other apps, but since HeavySet was released, it’s the only app I’ve used to track my workouts. The UI is intuitive and organizing workouts is a breeze. The recent updates have only made it more compete with the addition of a plate calculator, which was the only thing it was really missing compared to the other apps. Minimal and beautiful, I enjoy using HeavySet during my workouts as much as I enjoy working out itself! Plus, for $5 to unlock all the apps features, it’s one of the cheaper, if not cheapest, paid apps with which to log workouts.

So Easy to Use During Workout. I’ve tried a number of workout log apps, but found that most were kind of awkward to use during the actual workout. (For example, trying to figure out how to make changes if your planned workout doesn’t go as planned). But this one really makes it easy to log your sets & make changes on the fly. Still exploring all the features, but it’s looking great so far!

My favorite workout app. Very good app for logging workouts. Powerful program creation features to plan out every detail of your workout or just easy logging for winging it at the gym. Some features are a little unintuitive but that’s the trade off you get for having a simple interface that does exactly all you need 98% of the time and still being capable of more

Best Tracking App Out There. Been using this app for almost a decade now. Tried a lot of others. This one is hands down the best and most well designed. Worth the price. It’s got a lot of features so take a little time to get used to it to find what you like and how to set it up but once you do it’s really the best.

Almost there. I like the app overall. I think it does a better job of tracking long-term progress visually than the Strong app. However, I would like an update to remove the time limit while the app runs. During a set, the screen locks. There is an option to remove this during the timer but not during a set. It is not convenient to unlock the screen every time I am doing a new set.

Phenomenal. I’ve never left an app review in my 10 years as an iPhone user, but this app is too good not to praise the developer. It has the key features that I’ve always hoped for that other apps just don’t have. Namely, lifetime progress tracking displayed via graphs with the ability to view trends on volume, estimated 1 rep max, max weight. Workout interface is beautifully crafted, the timer is a game changer for accurately measuring rest periods, and it all just works in a simple and intuitive manner. A++++

Solid app. I love this app and it’s flexibility but I have few minor suggestions that I think would make the app more functional. I wish you could be able to pin or place an exercise at the top of the progress section so I don’t have to scroll through all of the exercises to find one I am focused on. Also I wish it was easier to change mistakes when I accidentally log the wrong info instead of having to go through several screens to Change a number. Also I think it should be easier to write a note on the log screen like up weight or tough reps. On the whole this is a great app and would recommend to anyone.

Well worth the purchase!. I hesitated dropping $10 on this app but it was worth it. This app is a game changer for me. It has helped me add solidity, structure, and organization to my gym routine. It took me a little bit to figure out how the app worked but they have help vids that explain everything. The only thing I wished the app has was exercises without a rep count. For instance: plank 0:30+. Other than that, well worth the purchase. Get it now.

Best app for tracking progress. I have tested probably 5-8 similar apps and this one is by far the best. Every app will take a couple days to get used to but this one is worth it. I personally use this app to track my weight lifting progress but it could be used for many other workout types. On the surface it’s extremely simple but behind the scenes there is a ton of personalizations you can make to tailor the app and tracking metrics to you. Use those features or don’t, the app is great either way- and that’s what I like. My favorite feature is being able to quickly access my previous workout or exercise to know how much I need to progress today. Tracking and viewing history is seriously so easy. Not to mention in app plate calculators and timers just a click away. I couldn’t recommend this app enough.

Great. I have been using heavy set for 10 months now and it’s great. Easy to use and quick so it’s not a distraction at the gym. I only have one suggestion for the developers, I wish the rest clock would show up on the lock screen. So that when you are resting you can look quickly without unlocking your phone for access. Other than that, Perfect!

Clean app with all you need. I like this app for a few reasons. Firsty, the UI takes some getting used to, but there was thought involved with making it an efficient experience to log your workouts. Secondly, I like the option to add new lifts and delete old ones. Finally, it's just 10 bucks to get all the features. No subscriptions, just a flat fee.

The best workout logger. All of the features you need but none of the bs that you get with the other workout trackers out there. No subscriptions, just $9.99 and you are set for life. If you have no idea about what you are doing and you need pre-designed plans then you probably want to look elsewhere but this is by far the best app out there if you are past the learning phase.

Great app with a few issues. I love this app, but there are a few things I wish would get fixed or added: the auto timer function is very inconsistent, most of the time when logging a set the timer does not start. Second, I wish when I added exercises to a saved workout, it would give me the option to add it permanently. Finally, PLEASE add an Apple Watch app! It would be so much easier to update on my watch during a workout!

Great workout tracker. Have been using it for past 6 months. Fairly intuitive from start. Wish I could group multiple workout plans (summer, Fall/Winter & Spring) in a simple homepage layout. Sure thst will happen at some point. Best workout app I’ve come across to-date. Worth the nominal cost. Updated on a regular basis, unlike Strong thst died out over several years.

Not many updates. Would love to see some updates to graphs, personal records, and the ability to use the Apple Watch. I’m glad I have a home gym as I probably wouldn’t use the app if I was at a gym pulling my phone out. I have tried other apps but they all are too much or too expensive. This is simple and easy to use, just lacks several features I wish were available. Overall, I really like it and have a lifetime subscription (I hate the other apps due to everything being a monthly price). I recommend the app to anyone who already is intermediate to advanced. I don’t think it is meant for beginners.

Perfect for lifting. Don’t need anything else.. Took a bit to get used to the user interface - swiping is your friend, swipe everywhere! - but otherwise perfect. Muscle groups makes tracking volume much better, intensity is helpful (eg you can set a 1rm max and then train based on % of it), can create your own exercises and add them to volume groups, tons of great stuff in here!

Does the thinking for me!. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and I just love it! It stores all my data for me. I’m constantly traveling and it easily switches between kg/lbs as international gyms usually have a mix of the two. It gives me a countdown when my rest time is coming to an end. It shows my progress be week/month. I’ve compared with several different apps but HeavySet always has more features and it’s user-friendly. Big fan! Thanks!

Really well made, everything I need. I downloaded and tried most of what looked like the best apps out there but I have used this one now on an almost daily basis for a year or so. There are a small collection of apps on my phone that feel almost perfect and this is one of them. The timer, the supersets, the organization, the plate calculator and stats, so much packed in without feeling overwhelming while being intuitive and practical. I recommend it as often as I can and enjoy it as an essential companion at the gym. I gladly paid for it as it was well worth the money.

Best workout app for me. The generously sized controls and clear UI are great for using in a gym. Exporting workout data, backup, and importing programs via copy/paste from a text file is genius. Surprisingly deep feature set from a product maestro and who is also obviously a lifter. I’ve tried other apps but always come back to Heavyset. Heavyset is easy enough to use straight out of the tin, but it would be great if there were a place the community could make the programs they’ve added for others to use.

The Best. Over the past couple years I’ve tried at least 5 different training apps. None of them really seem to suit me because I train at home, and use a weight vest. Some of the apps the out there have a limited list of exercises that you can perform and if they don’t have it you have to ask them to add it. With HeavySet that you don’t have to do that. This is probably the most flexible and easy to use app out here and it tracks your process so you can keep making gains.

Indispensable. Perfect companion to my “old fashioned” paper log that I use for my gym workouts. I really enjoy the charting, rep tracking, and it’s *simplicity*. This is an app that does not try to trap you in its own ecosystem. It has a handy import and export, connection to Apple heath and a clean interface. The only drawback I can think of is that I have a hard time tracking exercise times since I enter my workouts after my session.

Best app for lifting & I’ve tried them all. I am so grateful that I found HeavySet! I’ve tried just about every app out there for tracking lifting and this was the only one that had the feature set that I was looking for. I love the flexibility for workouts—when I’m doing a saved workout I can change just that session or save changes for future sessions. Different graphs/analytics for progress tracking, and calendar view. Import/Export and notifications when you hit a new pr. I only wish it had sharing/guest access to share with my trainer

Love it but have an update idea!. I am a professional volleyball player and I use this app a lot to creat workouts or input a workout my strength coach gave me! This app can do so much and it almost has everything I want in a program log and tracking app! One thing I find myself wishing this app could do is doing my intensity percentage for me! The programs I do are all based off of my 1RM and I find myself having to go to my calculator to find 75% of 1RM! I wish I had a customizable section where I can add exercises and their respective 1RM max and be able to edit it whenever I need! Then when I add intensity percentage to my exercise it automatically calculates what weight I need! Other than that, I love this app and how I can create folders of my different programs and add my own exercises and basically customize the app to what I need!

Brilliant App - certain features could use some love to make it feature complete though. I have been using HeavySet for a few years and overall I’m pretty happy with how it works - it has a intuitive UI, and makes things simple to use. I would suggest adding certain features to enable periodization management in the app though. Something as simple as the ability to increase working weight by 2% every week would go a long way to increase the utility of this app. It recommends weights naively based on the last workout, or you can tell it to suggest higher weights using the “deload” feature but that adds some friction in using this.

Best Workout App on the App Store. This is by far the best workout app I’ve ever used. The level of customization makes it worth the buy but recently when switching to a different app during workouts, it will close the entire workout out and I’ll have to go through my history to pick back up where I was before. It’s very frustrating but other than that, still a very good workout app.

Developer shows has no respect. Downloaded the app because honestly it looked like a good buy. Have not purchased the full version but was planning to till I read upon some of the developers responses to other customers. I particularly enjoyed the one where he pretty much tells another customer to screw off and that he would go out of business otherwise. First off this app is no where near considered a business. It’s a poorly imagined app that does a very basic thing calculating formulas . 2nd off the design is poor but I could care less as long as it works which it does and the app does exactly what it’s intended to do which is great. And finally even though the app is decent enough I’m not a fan of giving my money to a man sitting behind a computer with a bad attitude that continuously has a negative response to the consumer . So for that and that alone I will not upgrade and the app will be deleted in 3...2....1

Super Flexible App That Does It All. I’m very impressed with the flexibility of this product. You could use the “canned” workouts/settings in this app, but it provides so much more to tailor your workouts. Yes, this can be complicated. Yes, this can take some work on your part... but the alternative is that you are stuck with whatever the app gives you. You can make this app do what you want. My recommendation: set up what you think you want and use it for a week. At the end of a week, figure out what you don’t like and then go to the tutorial videos. There is most likely a setting you need to make or adjust. The only thing I don’t like about this app is that there isn’t a good way to track cardio (cycle/elliptical/treadmill)... but this might be outside of the scope.

Of all the lifting logs.... This one takes the cake. I’ve tested multiple weight training logs for an extended period of time and have made the simple conclusion that Heavy Set. It takes a few days to get the hang of it, but once you get a grasp on the user interface it’s smooth sailing. After you conduct a specific lift three times, it will begin graphing your progress for that lift. This allows you to see your progress easily. IM A HUGE FAN OF HEAVY SET. Only suggestion is that we can add notes to each individual sets.

Heavyset is way better than Strong or any other app. I’ve tried out Strong, Fitbod, and Stacked. Heavyset is far better than all of them. The way the data is put together. The ease of use. How easy it is to just add sets and reps. Changing weight or having it remember the last one you put in. Everything about the OS is intuitive and sleek. I used to write on pen and paper. Now I’m using HeavySets! Forget all the rest! Try it, you won’t be disappointed. After one workout I was sold on it.

Much Worse. Been using this app for years. Before the latest update it was miles ahead of every other app on the market. Now it’s average. All sorts of bugs and even some removed features. I can no longer add notes to a workout (why??), and when I add notes to a specific set it just bugs and doesn’t display the whole note. Also, there’s some really weird bugs with the in built timer that is quite annoying. Anything over 2 minutes doesn’t work properly and messes up my music. Still a decent app, but went from 4.5 stars down to 3.

Fantastic, but not quite perfect.. I have used Fitness Point Pro for 4 years, and have never found an app that improved on the simplicity of it. Heavy Set is very, very close to being able to be a better app, especially from a design perspective. My biggest complaint is the inability to use RPEs in the “intensity” field, only percentages. As many powerlifters use RPE, this would be a very beneficial addition.

Great for intermediate and above lifters. I’m pretty sure this is the only app that has RPE, automatic weight calculator based on intensity, automatic training max calculator, timer, tempo timer, all in one app. It even allows you to have multiple sets of the same workout at different intensities. There is no other app that does all of this, making it the best choice for all intermediate and above lifters who need these tools. There is a learning curve, and setting up your routine for the first time took a while, but it’s so worth it. It even allowed me to import my old data from the strong app. Definitely recommend this to anyone who’s workout complexity is high

Great purchase. Personally i like this app the most out of the other ones bc its easy to use and not as expensive as other ones. 10$ a lifetime charge is worth it. If you know exercises and have a set routine, use this. Intermediate to advanced only is what I’d recommend. It gives you 3 basic workout plans, but its not enough. Do research on weightlifting and use this app to track your progress.

Trial period is too short to learn about features. I wanted to fully test out the app before I committed to purchasing the premium upgrade, so I added exercises and created a new routine that included them all. I then ran through the routine to see how I would log all my activities at the gym. Once I felt comfortable, I took it to the gym to try it for real… it locked me out of the routine of 15 exercises and said I needed to upgrade to use the routine. I spent over an hour getting the app all set up in order to try it out, and it wouldn’t let me. The trial period should last at least seven days so that you can see how it all works. I have given up on this app and will look for another. Too bad.

Great tool but a little confusing. Update- Found my issue on import was in the format. Missing a space between the routine name and the ##symbol. Docs would have helped. Used for the first time today. Only one major issue is how touchy the buttons are ( a lot of unintended taps) and how little feedback is provided. When I logged a set, the timer doesn’t auto-start and the weight field is still showing it is editing but the set increments. If you aren’t paying attention you’ll hit log again, and again, thinking it didn’t register. You then notice you’re on set 3. Easy to edit and fix but could be avoided with a little UX work. UX aside, this is one impressive app, very well done. —————————- old review ———- I just found this app and it seemed to have everything I was looking for. While testing the import from pasteboard function it just stopped importing. When I copy something to the pasteboard, go back into Heavyset, instead of showing me the options it just says Heavyset Pasted from notes and then nothing. No routine or anything. I went to the developer website and there isn’t a support option. I paid for the full version. Does the developer still work on this app?

Recent issues. App works well as for logging workouts. Occasionally has some clunky UI to view certain history of workouts. I paid to upgrade and was happy that I did. Before recent issues I would have given it 4 stars. I have since switched apps as this one was having issues that was keeping it open in the background with major battery drain on my iPhone XS. 50%+ of battery life in 1-2 hrs if I didn’t make sure to force close it after my workout. If these issues are addressed I will use the app again.

Simple, just what I’ve been looking for. If you know what you’re doing and want to efficiently capture your lifts, this is an excellent program. It seems like a simple app but getting the interface just right is tough as can be seen from the large number of training apps available. I’ve used several and find HeavySet really feels easier than my old beat up notebooks. After a few months use I’m still finding new subtle things that help me gauge my progress and help stay on track for volume and intensity gains. No they haven’t paid me to say this, but Apple should consider this for a design award.

Excellent. Lots of options to actually build your own programs that can be organized into folders and sub folders so that you can simply open one and the app will effectively step you through the session. These can be percentage dependent based on a training max that can be set manually or even updated automatically based on new rep records and e1RMs, all of which are tracked and logged in the history. You can create your own exercises and assign body parts to them so that you can track volume by body part, by session, by exercise, and by week. Nice graphs put this into a visual over time, and you can choose to track it by tonnage, reps, sets, etc. Of all the training apps I’ve tried, this one is easily my favorite mainly because of the flexibility it has to create your own routines. Hard to ask for anything better than this one. Seriously give it a try.

Better than 90% of apps I’ve tried.. Have tried lots of apps for working out and making routines. This app is the best when it comes to editing your routines - you can add custom exercises as text no need to cross fingers hoping it’s in the database. This is a good text based gym tracker. I am also a lifetime subscriber which I think was a good deal for the ease of use and versatility of the app. I don’t mine supporting deserving engineers/developers (one myself). One aspect I don’t use is the effort %s mainly because IMO not sure how effective this methodology is and my minimal experience with the topic. Recommendations 2021: No major updates have been made to the app since 2018. More colors Expand supporting documentation for new users Notifications like reminders

Great app, a few suggestions. I love this app, but I have a few suggestions for improvement. I would love a music controller in place of the graph, would also like a better way to view comments from the previous weeks’ sets so I know how much weight I should plan on trying to lift for the current week. Thanks!

Live HeavySet. I use it everyday and keep coming up with new ideas and routines to use. Love it. Keep it up.

Great app until update. I used to track my weights with this app but they updated it so you can’t track it without paying. ——- Response to developer: You’re right! But my review is according to my user experience. I spent a long time setting it all up, which by the way needs improvement, to open the app and realize it’s now useless unless I pay $15. You should’ve considered that and allowed the ‘restore version’ option for users that had already downloaded it. I’ve replaced your app with an excel spreadsheet and it works just great for what I was using it, but I’ll give you now 3 stars instead of 1 because you do have a point.

Really useful app.. Dear dev, thank you so much for developing such a useful app and not a subscription based! It really help my workout routine run smoothly since I always forget how many set Ive done. But i wish that you could implement the additional calorie base for the exercise in near future. Best regards.

Best lifting app yet. Absolutely great app. Any chance you can make an Apple Watch version?

Excellent app. I really love this app. I very rarely leave ratings let alone reviews. It’s worthwhile watching the video tutorial because this app is complex (in the best possible way).

Subscription not working. Love the app but it will not allow me to see the upgrade costs from novice to intermediate or even purchasing it. It just has a constant loading bar within the app. Also can’t find anywhere within the app to contact the developer for issues or on the website? Would give higher rating except for these issues.

Awesome. This app is very easy to use and does a great job at tracking workouts. I was wondering if the ability to include cardio will be added later. Keep up the great work.

Amazing level of customisation. I don’t usually give reviews, but this app is next level. Much better than the competition, and worth every cent for the premium version.

Keeps crashing. New update keeps crashing and I'm forever deleting the app, then having to re-install. Only seems to last 24 hours between crashes. Three strikes your out I say. Time to look else where.

Good but need more volume categories. Hi, good app and great for tracking. One of the best I ha e used, but need more categories for tracking muscle specific volume groups... example “shoulders”, “hamstrings” & “calves” Would be to see this updated.

Best lifting app. It takes a little to get used to, not automatically intuitive. However once you get used to it it is an amazing product. I’ve used many different paid and free workout apps and this one is by far the best. I’ve read the negative reviews here and I disagree with most of them. The last one stated you can’t change the weights mid workout - yes you can. Or people complaining it doesn’t track body weight routines well - it’s a weightlifting app. Would love to see a max 1 rep, not just based off the current weight, and to be able to choose percentages- for example 70% of your 3rep max.

Simple but not basic.... Much like the other apps from these folks...has pretty much everything you want/need but in a simple to use manner. This is a great app for those looking to create, track and understand your own workouts not have something prepared for you...the ability to create supersets/circuits is great.... I regularly look at other workout logger apps nothing compares...this is simply the best.

Great way to track workout progress. Have only been using the app for a few days, however, already found it to be an indispensable aid in logging my workouts and tracking progress. Happily parted with previously used pen and paper. Appreciate the nice little touches like the plate calculator and adjustable volume of the audible alert. A few crashes here and there; usually associated with adding new exercises or new volumes. Not a huge deal but certainly would be nice to get rid of. My wishlist for future enhancements is the ability to: 1) Copy exercises within the same routine and to other routines 2) Emphasise supersets by colour or in any other meaningful, more obvious way. Current indexing method of exercise naming such as A1, A2 or B1, B2 can be easily overlooked on a small screen or seem confusing, especially when brand new routines are being trialled.

Unbelievably On Point - Best App I’ve Ever Used!!!. Honestly - I cannot fault this app. It must have been created by a super nerd software engineer / bodybuilder, because it incorporates every relevant detail you can imagine, presented in a wonderfully simply and easy to you platform! It’s super confusing and overwhelming initially, so don’t bother trying to figure it out on your own. There is a link to a YouTube playlist of bite sized explanation videos that are super clear and concise. Worth the 10 min time investment, because only then do you really understand the epicness of this app!! Spent a good 45 mins inputting my weekly workouts, and now my gym time is blissfully automated and progressive overload easily tracked! Couldn’t be a bigger fan. Thank you!!

Best app on the market. I’ve tried every app, excel spreadsheets, books, printed templates… you name it. I keep coming back to this app! So easy to use and provides enough data to track effectively. It’s a fine balance to get something smart and easy but not too complex and time consuming and I feel that this app has hit the nail on the head. 💪🏻 One suggestion for a future improvement is to include the ability to track warm up sets v working sets (a symbol for example) as well as drop sets, rest pause etc

Can’t calculate 1 Rep Max. After using Recomposser which is the gold standard used by instructors, A big let down for me is that it can’t calculate what reps or weight you need to do to beat your previous 1 Rep Max. It’s a very good statistical tool to record your sessions if you’re a number cruncher.

Simply the best. A straightforward lifting tracking/programming app. Great data and visualisation. No subscription!

Love the app but fix the bug. When I log a set or start the timer my music stops! Please fix xoxox

Hands down the best there is. Have used dozens of training apps since I decided to use apps to replace pen/paper tracking. Don’t waste your time with any others. This is the one. Best value, no ongoing subscription (which is ridiculous btw) and all the flexibility you’ll ever need in a training app. The deload and workout importing functions are outstanding.

Fantastic free app. 💪

Buggy and Expensive. Don’t bother with this piece of trash app. Constant crashing, losing data, UI counter intuitive and annoying. Seriously, don’t waste your time downloading. Plus it’s expensive, the free version is appalling and I would be angry if I had of spent money.

Just what I was looking for!. Top app. After trying several workout apps - HeavySet came out on top. Easy to use and no unnecessary frills that complicate using it.

Great app, terrible for battery. Best work out app I’ve tried, drains battery though if running in background

Awesome app. Would love to see one extra though. Love this app however would love to see notes pop up on exercises from previous sessions. For example, if I did squats 2 days earlier and wrote notes on these sets, before I squat again today I’d love to read over those notes when it comes time to doing that exercise within the workout. Also, setting up customisable block periods would be great too!!

Broken. Can’t adjust the weight during workout, ignores the timer setting, doesn’t auto start. Avoid

Stick with JEFIT. Has potential, awkward to use, needs better user interface, definitely needs 1RM calculator so you can scroll and increase the weight for less reps or decrease weight, increase reps. It’s about progressive overload and if you can’t measure, why bother training. Get it.

20$. Nah bro 20$CDN is crazy! I’ll make an Excel sheet instead. 1 star bc this isn’t a free app and you can’t even use it more than twice even in a limited free version

Great all, exactly what i was looking for. I’ve been searching for a good workout app I could use to run my own routines with lost of customization while still being easy to use. HeavySet does pretty much everything I want. I’d love more options for the core exercises i do between weightlifting sets but it looks like the new update might even add some more possibilities there. Great app, good work!

Great app for tracking workouts/progress. Helpful way to plan and keep track of strength workouts.

Amazing. I’ve used RepCount for years as well as strong and others on the App Store, this is the first app I’ve seen that would easily allow DUP and other more complex programmes to be built in without the need for excel spreadsheets very very impressive and a clean interface

Well made. A simple but powerful training log app. The creator have also uploaded tutorial videos on Youtube to learn more about this app.

Works okay but failed to back-up my data.. App is very good at keeping track of training, especially when doing linear progression. Unfortunately, the one feature that made me pay for the app, which was to be able to “Restore from iCloud”, failed, resulting in me losing weeks of linear progression training logs. That was supposed to be why I was using the app and it failed to deliver. Wish I could get my money back as I will not be using this unreliable app anymore. Be wary: do not uninstall and reinstall the app expecting it to restore all your data and workout history from the cloud. You may end up with lost data like me.

Amazing. Makes my workout routine so easy. Only fault of the app is, it isn’t available for Apple watch yet.

If you are a weight lifter, this is it!!!. It does pretty much exactly what I need. Import/export allowed me to move from another program without losing any history. I also love that I could just buy it. Hate subscriptions. Lastly, love being able to export routines as text, modify routine in any text editor then import back into Heavyset.

Request for Apple Watch entry. I must say if this app becomes compatible with apple watch then it becomes the number one gym log app, ever!

I wouldn’t be able to work out with out this... I cant recommend this app enough. It has truly become a necessity in my workouts and I don't think I’d be able to workout with out it.. I’ve been using the app for about two years now and it has brought a lot of value to me. The organization of workout routines and tracking reps/sets has been extremely useful for my progress in the gym. I work with a lot of heavy weights (typically 400+ lb) so it is important that I track each rep. The timer is extremely useful and helps me keep track of the rest periods between my sets (for existing users, you need to swipe up on the timer to bring up additional timer options). I rotate between 5 minute rest periods for strength sets and 2 minutes for volume sets. This has helped me stay on track for a lot of the sets during my workout and ensure I’m not wasting any time in the gym. As well, their is a plate calculator built in the app. When dealing with high volumes of weights it can be difficult determining which plates and how many to use. This has helped the monotony of switching plates be more efficient for myself. Overall, I’m in love with this app. I have never left an app review before but I feel it is required for me to give my positive feedback to this app. I have recommended this app to my girlfriend as well and she is hooked as well. A workout log book is $20+ on amazon. This app is less then that and offers more features and benefits. Do your self a favour and but this app. You will not regret it.

Fantastic. Best there is. Extremely intricate and detailed. Can be overwhelming at first when you’re not used to tracking and inputting values but it’s very user friendly and you’ll catch on quickly. There’s also great user guide videos. A lot of automatic calculations take place in the background to make things easier for you anyway. Definitely worth the money. Try it for yourself and see.

Paid for full version out of faith. Sure it tracks nicely but they don’t have the majority of exercises on the app. I mean it seems like users probably add exercises and it updates the data base instead of the developers having to put thought into it to make it comprehensive. Bulgarian split squat is not on here among other exercises that would require an ounce of research. Very dodo basic. Poor effort creators. Not even military press is as an option for selecting exercise and that’s a basic move.

Volume max. Love the trophies.....keeps me motivated to break my previous record with each workout. Entering routine the way I want was a bit of a struggle at first.

Best workout app at the moment. Been using HeavySet for a few years now and it’s probably the best app for weight training workouts. Love it.

Great Workout Logging. Simple to use. Has lots of features (supersets, drop sets, timers, rep max, etc). Best features ? Built in detailed reports and the ability to export the data. Worth the money for the full version ($13.99). Tried Jefit, Fitbod & Strong, this was the clear winner for me.

lost subscription status. i lost my money because you guys cain’t track my purchase! your “restore previous purchases” link don’t work!!

Heavyset. Simply the best...period!

Good deal. Really great app for the money. Really intuitive controls and lots of options. Really pretty interface that’s fun to use.

Best workout tracking app. Great app. Wish it had an Apple Watch app

Perfect for beginners and advanced. Perfect to keep track of my workouts with the built in calendar. Lots of different features the other guys don't have, well worth the Money to buy it

Wonderful. A digital logbook of my workouts. Exactly what I wanted.

Awesome and simple. Exactly what one needs to train. A timer, exercise titles, weight and 1 rpm calculator.

Great app but would love Apple Watch compatibilty. Loved using this app. Recently got an Apple Watch and wish I could use this on my wrist. Will look elsewhere for the time being.

Has everything I need. Except an Apple Watch app I can use so I don’t have to carry my phone with me.

Great app. A great way to keep track of your sets and reps. I’ve tried many other apps, and none are as easy to use and allow me to keep track of what I want as well as this one! Worth it for sure!

Very Good. Lost some data at one point but for the most part, this tracks all my workouts in an efficient, reliable manner. Easily allows new exercises. progress is easy to visualize. Small fee for the version I am using. No promos. Wish I could give 4.5 stars.

Excellent. I tried 10 different free to try Logging Apps, this was the one I went with. Used the free version for 6 months and then purchased the Lifetime. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the small details to make it easy to use. I have logged 2271 sets, 26758 reps and 2.7 million lbs of volume in the first 6 months without a hitch. Best money I’ve spent after my gym membership.

Best of breed. The user interface is not for everyone, but this is probably the most powerful workout tracking app that doesn't require a monthly subscription. Top of the wish list for improvements would be some indication in the graph of how you did in your just completed set versus your history. Right now you can't see your set charted until your next workout, since the chart disappears as soon as you complete the set.

Worth paying for!. This app is great for simple and quick logging between sets and setting timers. Tried several other apps but this is by far the best and most affordable with only a single lifetime payment unlike some apps that use the subscription model. Historical graphs help you see your progress. Volume calculations and 1RM calculations are great for progress as well.

Great app - Would be awesome if there was cardio too. Awesome app - it would be great if there was a way to track cardio as well.

(Developer Please Read) Great App!!. Recently this app has been restarting when I switch between apps, previous versions never closed me out of my work out when switching apps — iPhone 6S iOS 12.4 Other than that I really love this app and use it every week! Awesome interface for tracking past workouts!

Absolutely the Bedt. This is, by far, my favorite gym app. Design is beautiful, easy to read, add exercises, workouts, etc. I’ve been using it for years and hope the dev continues to keep the app updated.

By far the best app for tracking your workouts. Everything is integrated! Works well. Love the timer and weight calculator. Keeps what you did last time so entry is easier as you return to the same exercise. Can’t say enough great things about this app!

Great app. For a long time I was a jefit user. But hated that you can not add rep ranges ie: 5 sets 8-12reps. With app I can do all that plus track "As many reps as possible. Very clean interface, small app in size. And will allow you to import and export workouts. So long Jefit, it was a great run.

Best App. This app has everything you could possibly ever want in a workout logger. I have tried at least 5 of the other so called ‘best’ apps for logging workouts but every single one of them had a feature or two missing that I needed. This app combines them all in the best possible way.

Does everything. I’ve tried various apps to track my workouts in the gym and found this to be the most complete. There is a slight learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it’s simple to use with all the features you could ask for. Well worth the money.

Great app helps me so much with my gains. All the existing features works great but still looking for some kind of advance DropSet setup that allows the user to drop the weight during a straight set with out creating another set for it Also different rest time per set would also be nice to have

Best workout log period. I usually don’t write reviews, and when I do, it’s because there is a lot of room for improvement. This is not the case here. The biggest point (and I will be updating my review if this changes in the future) is that this is not a subscription model. Buy a good app once, and tell people about it to help the dev so more people buy it. I’ve been using it through the years and it did not disappoint. The only thing I wish we could do is change the intensity to RPE for the workout editor view. That’s it. Thanks!

Total flexibility. Finally a tool that allows me to create the customized workouts in one app. The fact that it tracks progress and has customizable rest periods too is a bonus. Wish it had a larger exercise library, but I can create these easily enough.

Practical And Powerful. There are many reasons why I think this is the best workout logger you can find for mobile. - Dedicated developer - Quick and easy to set-up and use (everything makes sense) - Great design and attention to detail - Rest timers automatically start when you log a set - Great charts make it easy to track your progress (Now even better) - Data is easy to back-up and export / import - Powerful features you can grow in to using over time to automate your routines Keep up the great work!

Heavy Set. Only complaint is I can only see how well my final progress is after the workouts are complete. I’d like to see sets, weight, and reps from previous workouts right along side the total volumes. As it is I have to finish the work out and go to the history to see one session against the last.

Great App, Wish It Had Apple Watch Compatibility. I really love this app, I even paid for the lifetime membership and that’s saying something because I never buy any apps/in-app purchases. Only issue is that it isn’t compatible with Apple Watch and it would be nice to use that since I recently got a watch.

ONE TIME PAYMENT!. Best app! Subscription apps to track workouts are a complete waste of money in my opinion. This one works well, does exactly what I need it to, and I don’t keep getting charged monthly or annually for it.

Most complete weight training app ever. They are not charging enough for this app. I’ve never seen any app go to the lengths that this app goes to to track progress and anticipate the needs of the user. Just phenomenal. The training videos are also excellent. My only request is for more training videos covering every single aspect of this thorough app.

Needs ability to change bar weight. In the weight calculator there should be a function to allow the user to change the starting “bar” weight. The default is 45lbs or nothing. I travel a lot and often have to use different gym setups to do my workouts. This makes it difficult when moving between a smith machine with a 20lbs bar weight and a squat rack. Also many of the sleds for the leg press have a different weight. Having the ability to adjust the bar weight would help when switching between set ups. I know you can enter new bar and weight in the settings menu, but you should be able to do it from the calculator screen.

Great app!. I’ve had this for a couple months now and I love it! Well worth the ten bucks. It’s easy to add exercises and build workouts. The only thing I wish it did was let you know when you hit a pr with a bodyweight exercise, but this is a minor thing. It would also be nice to have a calendar view in the screen for building routines.

Look no further, you have found the best. I’ve tried all the popular workout logging applications (and many of the obscure ones) available on iOS. HeavySet is unequivocally better than all of them.

Does what it needs to do, no frilly BS. Does what it needs to do. No silly videos of fitness models or imposing weird routines on you. Keeps track of sets and reps. I’d like to give it 3.5 stars because as it is the UI is pretty clunky and unintuitive. It also doesn’t keep track of static/isometric stuff like wall sits or planks. Still getting to know it so I’m sure as I mess with it it will feel more comfortable to use but so far it’s been a bit tricky!

Best gym log app. I love Heavyset. Makes logging my workouts simple and quick. I love the count down feature for timing my rest periods. The data it allows you to track is everything you need in a workout log. It’s the best app and the only app you need to track your workouts accordingly. Highly recommend

The best workout log app, hands down.. I’ve downloaded and tried so many workout apps. This one has it all. If you like building your own routines and want a simple, user-friendly interface, try HeavySet. My search is over.

HeavySet Rocks!. This is the best workout logger I’ve come across and it gets better with every update. The new reorder feature in the workout editor just keeps making this the most intuitive tool out there.

Used to be 5, now 1 Star. Used this app for a few months to record lifts and it worked great! Now I can only log 2 workouts in each calendar week.. terrible, money hungry change. Update: these money hungry app creators decided twice a week was too much for free and now it’s twice for free before needing to pay to upgrade/recreating your entire workout. Just when I thought you couldn’t be any more desperate for a dollar. Pitiful, and you should be ashamed at milking such a great app dry.

Great app once you get used to it. This app and seconds are both phenomenal. There is way more functionality than you think when you start using it but it has everything you need to efficiently track your lifting workouts.

Don’t often write reviews but this app does it for me!. I’ve had and used this app for several years and it just works! Very worth paying for.

Seriously Great and Versatile. Very good workout and lift logger. Used some in the past and others just don’t have the logging options that Heavyset has. You can maximize all of your workouts and see all your progress as Heavyset tracks and records it. With features like super sets, training max, RPE, Intensity, Rest Timer, etc. This app truly deserves 5 stars. Honestly job well done 👌🏻😊👍💯

An affordable fitness tracker. I’ve been looking for a fitness tracker lately and have been blown away by some of the prices, $6/month or $80/year is outrageous for what is essentially a spreadsheet plus a few extra features. I’m digging the dark layout and look forward to using this to reach my goals!

Best Workout Tracking App. I’ve tried pretty much all of the popular workout logging apps and this is by far the best out there. Very well thought through interface and features, especially the main workout logging interface which is what sets this app apart.

Great app!!. Very easy to use to track workouts. Love the stats features. Only thing I’d like to see added would be a built in percentage calculator as I use this for my olympic lifting workouts and have to use another app to calculate the % of my max for that day.

Great iPhone App, wish it also had a Watch app. Probably my absolute favorite iPhone weightlifting app. I WISH it had companion Apple Watch, and iPad apps. Many competing apps also have Apple Watch apps and it’s really convenient if you don’t want to carry around and look at your phone while you lift. I liked the option so much with other apps I now consider it ALMOST an ESSENTIAL feature. A companion iPad app would be nice to have, if only, because this app has such great charts and logs that it would also be nice to view that same data on a larger screen. But seriously, developers please consider making an Apple Watch companion app.

timer issues. loved this app until the timer stopped working properly. Timer doesnt always start upon logging a set. sometimes it does, sometimes it doenst. most annoying. rest of the app is great

Awesome App. Love you can save routines and even send to friends. It’s easy to log sets (even supersets) and the timer is very useful too. Makes keeping track of your workouts a breeze. It’s reasonably priced compared to some other crazy ones out there. Highly recommend using this app!

Exactly what I needed!. Been looking for workout tracker that gave me the ability to build a custom workout with specific features like sets based on percentages of a training max. This fit the bill perfectly and has a beautiful UI. Best part is it doesn’t require a subscription. Thank you!

Great, but missing simple KEY feature. This app is amazing and has helped me get massive gains. However, as a person that is constantly trying to improve, limiting the notes section to only two lines is awful. Please make it so we can enter more text!!!! It helps me keep track of form tips, seat & machine heights, etc etc

Great workout tracker. Better than Fitlist and Fitbod. I really like the Heavyset app. I’ve tried a few other workout trackers including FitBod and Fitlist. Fitlist was really buggy. FitBod was creative at its core, but its suggested workouts missed the mark. The Heavyset app just makes tracking my workouts along with their history in a very easy and intuitive manner. Keeper for me.

Fantastic, no feature bloat - simple and effective. Absolutely love this app for tracking my progress. This has been the only app to actually replace pen and paper weightlifting progress tracking. My only gripe is the lack of Apple Watch support.

Good overall. App is good and convenient overall but have been having bugs after most recent update: app keeps quitting mid-workout and timer stops music which is the most annoying thing ever!

Clunky, DIY strength training app. The app offers strong customizability for those who want to design their own workouts. There are only a couple of built-in types of workouts available. The user interface is seriously confusing and buggy, but the app doesn’t seem to crash because of it. It’s my go-to workout app due to its low cost, but I wish it was more user-friendly.

Slow updates but a workhorse. This app handles what you need done in the gym. Those muscles are to a minimum it focuses on good charts one rep max calculator and rest timers. Sure doesn’t have fancy graphs like other ones or life widgets but it gets the job done. Super easy to build routines. Super easy to add reps and weight.

Just do it.. One of the best apps for weight training logging. Has a lot of really great features. Can be used with little Initial effort, or can be customized. Built in tempo and rest timers are especially welcome features. Won’t slow you down during the workout.

Best app for seriously tracking training I’ve ever seen. I love Heavy Set and have invested a lot of time learning how best to use it and building my programs into it. It’s the best app for seriously tracking training I’ve ever seen. I recently had an issue transferring data to a new phone, and the quick responses on this issue make the experience that much better.

Some issues. Great potential but a hard to navigate it that after a workout - it doesn’t update the lifts or rep maxes - thus I keep repeating the same weights each workout while using the Bill Starr 5x5 template it comes with. I watched each video over 4-5 times & cant seem to figure it out? Can anyone assist?!? I cannot get the workout screen to show the estimated 1rep max like in the developers tutorials? Also - wish it would stay on & not go black even if timer is not running. These things get ironed out - would move to 5 Stars. Perhaps the developer can respond & advise? Would love to purchase the upgrade if the above can be answered / helped??

Love it!!. I’ve been using excel spreadsheets for the longest time and I don’t really have an issue with that but this app makes it so much easier. It’s super easy to use and I paid for the premium version which was also worth it. I just wish they would come out with an Apple Watch companion app for this as well!

Phenomenal app. This is the best workout logger I've seen. It does have a bit of a learning curve but the developer has created a phenomenal resource set for help. It is amazingly versatile and makes planning a workout and looking at history so very easy. Kudos to the developer for putting so much thought into this app!!

Sweet. Great app for tracking your own stats and PRs I’ve been recommending it left and right. And now you can share your workouts which is pretty cool. You don’t get bombarded with constant sales pitches for plans or food. Straight to the point with this app. Takes some time to get used to imputing data and seeing an actual graph for progress but for good reason.

Very well designed. I use this app for every workout. I love being able to see my improvements over time on the app. If I could give one suggestion it would be to have a notes section where you can record intricate details that you just can’t program into the app

I love this app. I have been using this app for about 6mo and love the simplicity of use. Once set up with all my weights, bars and single rep max values the using the intensity multiplier and superset function has helped me stay focused on getting the workout done and not constantly calculating plate adds. I truest love this app. Thanks!

The only app I’ve ever used for this kind of thing. This is the only app I have ever needed for weightlifting. I only want to put word of caution out there: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! In other words, this is really great as is, so please don’t change it too much!

Love the app but would like one addition. I am not sure if the developer still works on this or not, but it would be nice to have to ability to create a pyramid (or inverse pyramid) type set. For instance- say it’s arm day. Using a set of dumbbells you do one rep curl, one rep hammer curl, two reps curl, two reps hammer curl, three… up to five. That would be ONE set. Do three sets of the above for arm day

Favorite Lifting App. Great app for lifting and tracking your progress. You can customize just about anything and create your own routines. Progress for workouts and exercises over time is great. You only get volume reports at the end of the workout. If that was available to view historically I would give this app 5 stars.

Where is the Apple Watch compatibility??. I love this app. I’ve been using it for almost 3 years and in nearly every workout. However, if it had the ability to add notes after completing an exercise. Also disappointing that there still isn’t a Apple Watch app.

Holy moly, it’s a HeavySet update! While the update process should be fine, I recommend that before updating to the latest version you create a backup of your data in the Settings > Import, Export & Manage Data section. It may also be worthwhile sharing all your routines to ensure these are not lost. While the database has not changed since the previous version, the library that is used has had many significant updates. Changes: - Added a new import from text screen. - Added new data deletion and statistics reset options to Settings > Manage Data. - Added new menus to routine rows accessed by long press. - Moved support tab items to Settings tab. - Moved exercises to tab bar. - Changed minimum iOS version to iOS 14. - Changed theme to use system Dark Mode controls as well as previous overrides. - Changed custom popups. Now replaced with standard system popups. - Changed routines to warn when reaching 26 exercise limit rather than crashing. - Changed rows in Settings > Trash to better represent what they are. - Fixed trashed routines appearing in exports and folder picker screens. - Fixed two editors opening at once issue. - Fixed exercises getting saved as skipped when editing routine for all future workouts. - Fixed support bubbles. - Fixed and reinstated auto trash feature.
