Totally Disappointed. Unusable.. I signed up for Adventure Hunt in San Francisco on March 9, 2019. I was really excited because I have done similar scavenger hunts around the city before that have been a lot of fun. The morning of the hunt I woke up and was ready at 9am to view and complete tasks on the list and was totally shocked that almost all of the tasks on there could not be completed in San Francisco. The majority of them had to be done in the water, and if you know SF you know that although we are in California, water sports are not something people partake in here. It never gets warm enough and the ocean is just too cold for anyone but surfers with body suits to go in. I had seen in the videos a lot of water activities from other hunts, but was hoping that they took into consideration the location and tailored them to be appropriate for the place. The only two that were tailored for SF were walking the Golden Gate Bridge and going to Azkaban (which you have to book 3 months in advance). I reached out to Adventure Hunt right away to let them know how disappointed we were and that we could not compete and would like a full refund. They encouraged me to "get out there and have fun." I wrote back explaining that it was not as advertised and due to the types of challenges they offered we could not compete. I didn't get a reply and had to write back to them again. Finally I got a response that they will not refund me. They said they are like any other concert or sporting event where you don't get your money back. Um okay - even with sporting events and concerts, they are in locations that are appropriate for the climate and you get exactly what you pay for. Not a great comparison, Adventure Hunt. Hopefully this review helps others with their choice of trying this out so they aren't disappointed and out money.

Do not buy this. My app never worked tried to email them it wouldn’t work. No way of getting my money back no one to talk to, no numbers to call. There is no help. This is a scam. They take your money and nothing works. I am Beyond mad about this I was so excited to do this and nothing worked.

Great Saturday fun!. Did a few of these and had such a good time. Did it with my son. Unique and fun activities that lead to a great end. We finished in the top 10.

Best Day & Company EVER!. Adventure Hunt is the best way to spend your day, and the friendships you make along the way are priceless. I was actually blessed to get to go to Panama and meet the creators, and they are the best people ever! My boyfriend and I did the hunt last year in Miami, had a random Saturday off and figured why not give it a shot. So happy we did! Got 4th place and already signed up for 2019 Adventure Hunt and we’re currently counting down the days!

Amazing experience - such a fun activity!!. I loved using this app - the entire idea behind it is brilliant. The experience it provides for everyone is bucket-list-worthy! Everyone should do it!!!

Free trip to Panama!. Such a fun and exciting concept. I have competed in three adventure hunts and each one gets better and better. Highly recommend if you want the chance to win some exciting prizes, including a trip to Panama! And if you don’t win, you walk away with some hilarious memories 😍

Don’t waste your time or money. App is a piece of crap it barley works and there is no way of contacting customer service!! Save your money!!

Faulty App ruins fun. About halfway through trying to earn points to unlock the map the app froze and crashed. The result of this was the loss of our challenge list thus preventing us from going on with the hunt. We contacted support and about 2 hours later got a response to try and do basic troubleshooting that we already tried about 30 times 2 hours before. By this time the treasure had been claimed. After several emails, and another hour or so, support told us "it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the lead team was so far ahead of you, you wouldn't have won anyway." That's quality customer service, if quality means non-existant. I would never do another AdventureHunt for the remainder of my natural life! Just a waste.

Great idea but doesn’t work. Tampa... first clue doesn’t work!

Not worth it. I signed up with 2 other friends and on the day of the hunt we realized how limiting many of the “challenges “ were. You are at a real disadvantage if you are a smaller group or don’t know other teams . Many of the activities cost money as well ( unless you own equipment like paddle boards or kayaks ) One of my cities challenges was “ go to the pick quarry and jump off a cliff” ?!?!?! Really ? We ended up not doing it and I feel like it was a total waste of money . If this were a more a scavenger hunt I think it would be more inclusive . Don’t do this unless you have a lot of people to be on a team !!!

So much fun!!. I had an absolute BLAST! Such a fun idea for a group or a date! I will definitely be adventure hunting again!!

Maybe technically not a scam. Took the money and won't refund it even though the "adventure" is not anything most people would want to participate in. Some ways to earn "fun points" included singing loudly to people at an airport and kissing strangers. Pretty much everything on the list was expensive or extremely time consuming and wouldn't let you earn the "20 points" you need to unlock the next stage. We expected locations where people would go to do things and fun activities and what we got was the same list of things that could be used in each of their cities. A complete waste of $50.

Adventure IS out there! (Right in your backyard). I absolutely loved Adventure Hunt! While all the things we had to accomplish throughout the hunt were fun in themselves (and taking pics and videos made it even more fun!) the really cool thing about Adventure Hunt is it helps you see things in the city where you do the hunt that you may not have seen before! Here in Salt Lake City, UT I saw so many new things I probably never would have myself. Thanks for being a real adventure hunt, and for showing me a different side of Salt Lake! I can’t wait to do another one, maybe even in a new random city! 👌🏼💕

Whether you’re in it to win it, or just taking it at a more leisurely pace to enjoy and explore your city, you’ll have a great time. The app works great and really keeps you engaged with the race. Omaha under construction. The Omaha scavenger hunt was impossible with all of the construction going on. Couldn’t even get to the first clue. Thankfully they gave me a refund (otherwise would be 1 star).

Awesome. This was one of the most fun adventure races I have ever participated in. The trip to Panama looks epic!!!

Las Vegas Hunt. We registered for the Las Vegas hunt. The most fun part was the hike we did at the beginning of the day. The rest of the app/ Adventure was lame. We were given clues to strip malls in a suburb of Las Vegas, not even the strip. Do NOT waste your time or money on this. We were so looking forward to participating after watching on Shark Tank but the “adventure “ was NOTHING like the promotion of these events. I would give it a zero but that’s not an option. You are better off just planning fun stuff on your own than signing up for a specific hunt.

Adventure Hunt Update. The new update is absolutely worth it and functions better than the older version! Excited to do this on dates and with friends! Love what Adventure Hunt has done!!

SO MUCH FUN!!. The event is awesome and the app added so much to it! The clues were fun to solve and it made it fun and exiting to get the notifications as we got closer and/or further away from each stop. Super cool concept.

We won a trip of a life time 🙌🏼😎. For my husband’s birthday, we went on a treasure hunt and won a free trip to Panama. We went on it in July 2018 and it was a week we will never forget. This app worked perfect through the hunt and gave us all the codes we needed for the prizes we won along with our trip. It was perfect! Best adventure you’ll ever take and worth every moment!!!

Adventure of a Lifetime!. Can’t remember the last time I had this much fun in my own city! It’s like an epic adventure vacation in your own backyard! The challenges were hilarious and really pulled us out of our comfort zone. We saw and did things we didn’t even know were available in our hometown and we’ve lived here for 15 years!! 100% recommend to everyone and anyone who wants to get off their butt and have the adventure of a lifetime! The app is so slick too! It’s like a digital treasure map with actual photo and video clues along the way. It even tells you if you’re getting hot or cold as you near your next clue. Seriously blew my mind!

Not worth your time or money.. I should have known when I saw so many No Refund notices. We completed the Las Vegas hunt, which should have been called the Summerlin mall adventure. There was virtually nothing in Las Vegas and all of the clues were extremely boring locations. They recommend you have a car, but for this hunt it is necessary because the clues were all spread out miles apart. Everything was just extremely low effort, you are better off just searching the 5 best things to do in a city and just do those at your own pace.

Waste of money. My friend and I had a fun time completing the tasks that allow you to unlock the map, but if she didn’t have a lake house nearby, we wouldn’t have been able to do half of them. Also, once we finally unlocked the map, we would have needed to buy two $20 tickets to the zoo in order to get to the checkpoint inside, so we bailed after that. If every clue required us to pay to get in somewhere, I can’t imagine how much it would’ve cost by the end. Overall this was a waste of money unless you’ve got money to spend, and it would have been way more fun if the activities and clues were free to complete and easy for anyone to complete.

EPIC BIRTHDAY BLAST. Did this as a family activity with our children and grandchildren for my husband’s birthday. We had SOO much fun! There is something for all ages to do.

Didn’t work. It was a great idea but when we got to our first location it never told us we arrive. We even payed for picture clue to make sure we were in the right place. $15 down the drain

Super fun! Best way to get to know a city better!. Adventure hunt was a blast! I moved to a new state not that long ago and was having a hard time learning to enjoy the area. I found adventure hunt and and decided it would be worth a shot. I’m thrilled that I did!! It was a ton of fun and I really got to experience the city and find a ton of fun things I would have never found otherwise. The activities were a blast and gave me a ton of ideas for things to do later in the year. I didn’t end up winning, but I still had a blast. Definitely worth it. 10/10 would recommend!

Great Experience. The adventure hunt is one of the best experiences you could have! If you are new to a city, lived there awhile or even just passing through! If a Hunt is happening do it! Or do the fun hunt, learn about the area in which you are living , visiting or passing through! We did the adventure hunt OAHU and LOVED IT! we learned of so many amazing areas on the island, met amazing people and had some good laughs! We also went on the Panama Trip ! Oh my gosh it was amazing! We met life long friends who we are planning trips to visit with again at some point! Had experiences that people dream of... this company is great! And the app is super easy to use, easy to navigate etc!

Dont do this. Succ, me and my friends were like "dude bail" immediately. Not worth time or money theres no adventure only lies. Physical incarnation of microtransactions and bad prank videos on youtube.

Crazy, awesome, fun!. We did adventure hunt and had an amazing time! We ran around completing tasks that were hilarious and challenging. Gets you out of your shell and having a good time! App ran great! Would highly recommend doing this!

Awesome—who would give a bad review??. Easily one of the funnest ways to go and see your home city or one you are visiting. The tech is smooth and easy to use and the adventure hunt itself is worth every penny. Way more fun that Ragnar and Spartan type races. It’s like a do-able “Amazing Race”. We’re looking forward to it every year!

Not really an adventure. So the app itself- it ok. You can't click away from it without it reloading, which was a pain, but not that big of a deal. The actual "Adventure" for which we paid $30 just for the ticket? Meh. The fun stuff was fun. My teammate and I had a blast running around doing silly things. The actual adventure part wasn't very fun. Most of the stuff they want you to do was $$, (visit a park, go paddle boarding, etc) which means you have to spend more money just to take a picture of yourself doing the thing, and since it's a race, you don't actually get to enjoy doing any of the things, you just race through them. I won't do this again, I'll just go to a park or spend the day paddle boarding.

Requires $$$ to actually complete the tasks. Maybe my expectations were just way off, and maybe I should have paid the $7 to view past hunts, but there was pretty much no way to even unlock the treasure map without shelling out serious money for activities. Plus where in Boston am I going to go wakeboarding and waterskiing?

Extreme fun. This is only for people who have the time and want to have fun. If you go into it without doing any research then you won’t have fun. This is designed to push people and bring people out of their comfort zone. Made us do/go places we normally wouldn’t. Lots of fun to do with close friends.

Even more fun than we expected. This was my originally my girlfriend’s idea- I thought it looked cool but it ended up being even more fun than expected! We’ll definitely do it again.

Le Ripoff. Paid $10 for a an adventure hunt in Portland, Me. Upon opening, it gave me a map, a vague clue (something like “Roses are red, violets are blue, Anne has a rose, and one for you, too.”) and indicated that we were “within 2500 ft” of the destination. Maybe a local would be able to use that sparse info to locate a landmark, but not a visiting tourist who knows nothing of the area. So I clicked to get a hint…and discovered a paywall. $10 more for hints to make using the app possible? I am disgusted.

Such a unique, fun Adventure!. These guys really live up to their name. It’s a very unique idea and really is a modern-day treasure hunt. I’ve done 3 hunts now and all of them were a blast!! Two of them were for personal fun and another was a corporate activity for my whole team and they all loved it. Also, each time I did a hunt I noticed improvements in the app and its functionality; you can tell they really care about their users having a great experience. Best part is, even if you don’t “win” the day of the race, you get entered in a raffle and get cool discounts/prizes for just finishing the hunt so you’re incentivized to still finish the race. I walked away feeling like I got way more than my money’s worth and I will definitely be doing another hunt next year.
