No live streaming. Device failed to connect to Internet and won’t live stream a couple of months after install. Can’t fix problem and can’t connect to support center. Otherwise, beautiful still photos.

Works great!. I have been very happy with the feeder and app. The picture quality is every bit as good as my nest camera. I get notifications of bird sightings, and am enjoying it very much!

Awful just awful. The feeder is bad and the app is worse. Have to go out and mess with it to get it to connect, so I know it’s not a Wi-Fi issue. Help center is not helpful. App doesn’t function well.

Works good. Camera is set up and connected to Wi-Fi and is streaming to the app, so I can watch from my phone. The stream is a little choppy and the bird identification isn’t very reliable (it identified a cardinal as a penguin!) but otherwise it has worked well and is a nifty little toy.

It works. Mostly the feeder just needs a very good wifi signal. This is almost always a problem since the feeder is outside your house. The feeder needs an antenna or something to help it out. Verified working: it does identify birds. I am impressed. Some results are off but that isn’t surprising to me. One thing I really do not like: it demands your cell phone number when you create account.

Latest upgrade causing issues. The app was working great but with the latest upgrade now I only see live. Every time I try to view my files it kicks me out of the app. I’ve tried resetting didn’t help. I hope they have an upgrade to fix this soon.

App updates made it worse. When I received the feeder as a gift I set it up when the app was version 5.1.2 and it worked great! It was slow to connect with the first update since but now after the second update, it is near useless! Takes forever to connect and it has not predictably detected or recorded birds or alerted me to their presence. I do hope this gets resolved because when it was working, it was a delight!

Getting there. I’m having so much fun with it but have several questions. When I download my videos it will not let me share him with any of my friends and family members. And my second question, how do you put a Sims card in it I cannot find it anywhere to insert the card?

Was working great but not anymore. This bird viewing camera is now worthless. I used to be able to view larger images of the thumbnails captured at the feeder. Now when I select one I only get transferred to live feed. Can’t save or view the thumbnails. The app responds with statements about an SD card which the device doesn’t have a slot for or cloud storage. I’m not paying for that. Obviously the app worked before so now just appears to be a money making feature. I’ve emailed support and received no response. Very disappointed in what was initially a very cool product.

Identification Feature. I live in the northeastern United States. Most the the identification options shown are birds outside of the United States. Your identification feature should use location as a primary filter. I’ve had local birds identified as possible Australian birds. Though the snapshots were not particularly good, the possible ID’s are poor. Therefore, the feature is disappointing.

App crashing. Love camera except cannot view video, crashes. Please fix this. Extremely unhappy

Horrible. Quite possibly the worst app ever. Does not pair to the camera via any way. If it does connect (which I got it to do once) the app takes forever to load the camera and the bird is long gone. The few times it did recognize a bird, it identified it as some bird from China. Extremely disappointed.

App crashes when trying to view a file. I can only see live feed and still image notifications since the most recent software update. When I try to view a recording file, I am booted out of the app and have to restart it. Please fix this bug!

Getting there. Finally got it hooked up after trying for a week. Now it seems to be working but it is so slow. More to follow. Btw, sent email for help and got nothing. No help whatsoever. Ok. Now I can’t figure out how to add my mother. I can’t log her in and the app is CRAP about helping.

Hard to use. Frustrating

Must be bad update. App no longer works with latest update. We no longer get any live feed.

Poor performance. Unable to start an icloud account says no device even though i can see still images with my recognized AI camera.

Needs Improvement. Updated review: the latest revision has helped a lot. Bird identification is now working. Connection and setup is more consistent. Original review: The app has potential but the connection from the camera to the app is inconsistent. The instructions are written in broken English and no easy way to get any tech support. Hard to say if it’s a WiFi signal issue or not because I get notifications to my phone when a bird is detected and it logs a screen shot but I cannot get a live view because it never connects. I have to bring the camera into the house and reset it and even then it doesn’t always connect. Also, the bird identification does not work at all, just asks to upload a picture of a bird and then nothing happens. Please add some kind of tech support so the product can be used as advertised.

Very unintuitive. I usually don’t give reviews, but I have been very disappointed with this feeder camera. I have other feeders that identify the birds as they feed and setup was clear. I do enjoy the wide view it gives but I purchased it for its supposed ability to ID birds and record them. Not a good purchase in my opinion.

Can’t play back videos. I get kicked out of the app every time I try to playback videos. Please fix this

Bad connection.. App needs to be overhauled. Bird recognition doesn’t work. Connecting to device is spotty at best. I have an access point within 5 feet outside and it doesn’t allow quick access from my home network which is on a fiber backhaul. I’m running cat 6 wired connections to all access points. Everything else is fast and responsive. Also need a way of manually adding a device by an I’d. I had the camera connect to my network but it wouldn’t appear in the app. So much promise but so buggy system.

Can’t see video get booted off. I can only see live feed or the recorded image. I cannot play back recording since update. Please fix. Several issues now.

I love the feeder. The feeder and camera are amazing! I love that I can tell the squirrels to get off the feeder through the intercom. 5/5 for the feeder and camera. The app itself I’d give a 4/5. When it works, it’s amazing! But sometimes it had connectivity issues and tells me it’s offline so I can’t load the live feed or do the play backs. But that goes in spurts, so it will work perfect for a week and then 1 day it will act up for the whole day. But it’s not super often and I love all the features so 4/5.

KJ. I don’t know what people are talking about was so for the app has worked with me well for me and I haven’t had any technical issue or anything I have locked out and we signed in on multiple devices and I still had no problem! The only thing I will say is that the app doesn’t exactly identify the roads really well. I had a JJ home bird feeder. The only thing is also, I still haven’t be able to share it with my friends or family. I have created accounts for them, but it says that I did it so.

So frustrating. The app crashes constantly when trying to view live since the last update. The app has never been great so focusing on making it great seems like a good idea! The inability to use the device to its fullest is frustrating and super annoying!

Horrible-return immediately. This app (and associated smart bird feeder) needs a LOT of work. The app itself is impossible to figure out how to use it. I did get it connect to the feeder and I can see video in real time. Never got alerts. Never took pictures. Never used it’s AI to recognize a bird. You would be better off with a cheap bird feeder and any outdoor camera. Now I can’t delete my account because I used special characters in the password but it won’t let me enter any special characters in the delete screen-just letters and digits! Don’t bother downloading. Return the device immediately.

Never connects. I spent literal hours trying to connect my bird feeder camera to this app. Most of the time it just got stuck on the “Connecting” screen for 20+ minutes at a time until I force closed and tried again. I did finally get it to connect twice(or so it said), but then the app would freeze again so I had to close out, and when I re-opened it, it said I had no devices connected and I was stuck in this endless loop of attempting to connect this camera to the app. The app also makes very little sense. It, and the camera, are made in China, and it seems instructions were translated to English with Google translate or something, so it’s all just a bit off. I’m giving up and returning the expensive camera and uninstalling the app.

App crashing. The app was working fine until November 18,2023 when it began to crash if I opened a file. It will connect and view live, but if I try to open a file it crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, this did not correct the issue.

Worst app EVER!!!!. This app does not work. We tried from several phones. The app continues to crash before we even get to link it to our wifi. Tried to report a problem. Website isn’t in English. Emailed the company with questions 2 weeks ago. No response. I was setting this up for a sick client and it was the biggest disappointment. We spent hours trying to set this up. FIX YOUR APP!!!

JJ house. This product is worthless

Camera is good, app is terrible.. I agree with other reviewers that the app is not intuitive. There are too many steps to get a bird identification. Also, maybe it’s just my iPhone 8, but it’s as if the bottom of the screen is cut off. This is true when reviewing notifications, looking the bird identifications, and the calendar. Right now, the calendar won’t show any dates past July 22nd, which was a week ago. I can see the live feed from the camera, so I know that isn’t the problem. This was a Father’s Day gift for my dad, we are disappointed that it isn’t performing as advertised. I read the feeder reviews but not the app reviews. Sorry now that I didn’t do that.

Jow to turn on from inside the home. Difficult to set up and reset once battery runs down. Love the camera pictures bery crisp and clear

A good start, but AI needs work. I’m able to get notifications that a bird is coming and up to a couple days ago, it would make a guess as to what kind of bird. That seems to have broken now. PLEASE fix this as it was the most entertaining part. Entertaining because some of the guesses are way off but every once in a while it’s right. It has said penguins and dodo birds, ducks and swans which obviously are incorrect but it’s interesting to see if the AI will improve as it gets more data with more bird visits.

Terrible. I’ve had it for a year with no results. I’ve tried everything to make it work. Can’t contact the company. Very sketchy instructions.

Such a shame. I absolutely love this camera when I can get it to connect. It’s wonderful. The app should be amazing but fails too often. Sad because I love this set up.

App crashes. I have 3 bird cameras & they all crash when I try to view playback video. This is a recent development. Please fix this issue.

Smart bird feeder PCD001. I love this product!! It’s been up for about 2 weeks now . I was receiving notifications at first but they stopped and can’t figure out how to restore them. Please help.

No Notifications!. Like the other reviews, my bird camera does not automatically begin recording a video when the camera is activated by a bird motion. It also does not automatically send a notification when the camera is activated. I have a new 128gb SD card, Class 10 in the unit as well. The card is formatted, but the SD Management tag still says SD Card missing! Who may I speak with about these issues??

Would give 0 stars if I could. This app is horrendous. I got this JJhome bird feeder camera as a gift and it connected fine the first time I used it. Now however I cannot get it to reconnect. All the instructions say to reset until the camera says “reset successful.” This camera has never made that sound before and no matter how many times I reset it, it will not reconnect to the app. Complete joke. I feel so bad for my mom who spent $200 on this piece of crap.

Not very user friendly. -Find it difficult to keep device online -Tines for mounting post broke after a couple relocation attempts made to correct connectivity issue -Red color of flowers faded after one season

Terrible. Very difficult to connect, poor directions, app is extremely low quality and time consuming. Great when it works. Each time I have to recharge the camera I run into issues every single time.

Terrible app. While the camera is good, the app has very limited functionality and is just a horrible user experience. Have had at least 6 interactions with customer support, and each time get an entirely different response. One was actually helpful, but I am tired of trying to make this thing work. A promise of an entire app update in “two days” was over a week ago, and nothing since. Buyer beware!

Very buggy. Try changing wifi network, you’re better building the Great Wall over again, also you can’t save video directly, only snap shots, interface needs a lot of work, needs a total rewrite

How do I get customer service?. Don’t buy this product. It worked great and I loved it then they did an update and now I only get a thumbnail of the bird on the feeder. When I click the thumbnail- it says no video available. You used to be able to see and save a full size picture of the bird. Now unless I’m actually watching the camera and a bird lands, I can’t get good pics. It was a great product now it’s a waste of money in my opinion.

Bird feeder not good. This app lets you see videos if you figure out the hard connection. It never identifies the birds for you. And never even let you know that there’s a bird at your birdfeeder you have to constantly open the app and check your app to see if birds are visiting and then when I do, I can see the bird but sometimes the video has a delay or freezes for a few seconds several times. One time it heard the bird making sounds, but it identified a totally completely different bird than the picture shows. I wish I had gone with a different app and a different birdfeeder camera.

Don’t waste your time or money!!. Instructions are very poor, and getting it connected was a hassle and didn’t work right away. As others said, mine also does not send me a notification when there is a bird, nor does it even notice when the bird is there. Connection just spins and spins and spins, and the app is terrible. I have several other wireless cameras etc. at my house and they all work fine. I think They have the right idea with this bird cam but it still needs lots and lots of work. Especially at what they are charging for this product. It should work flawlessly.

Bird camera does not work with 5G. Neighborhood upgraded to 5G and my camera quit working after trying to figure it out realized it doesn’t work with 5G wireless

Wonky at best. The app was ok, never great, but acceptable. Now Chinese advertisements pop up as soon as you open the app and when you try to get to the screen to see what birds have shown up it crashes immediately. For the last 2 weeks I see no birds, only advertisements. Truly frustrating.

Not good.. The device rarely connects to the wi-fi and it’s very close to the modem. The app does not identify the birds. All it does is does is take pictures which are decent shots but overall the app is pretty useless. And trying to find information on the internet is impossible.

Trash. Thank goodness this was a gift and I didn’t pay for it. If you get a notification, the bird is gone before the app can load which takes a long time. The flowers faded to white within months. Don’t waste your money.

Latest update made it inoperable. I’m throwing this away after one year of trying to get it to work consistently. It has been nothing more that a waste of time and money. It no longer recognizes my password. Even after updating password it doesn’t recognize the password. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Bird feeder:camera. Save your money. Manual worthless, telling you to do things that aren’t there. Settings same. Contacting them doesn’t happen. Wasted $$.

Works great except HD. Had for a few weeks. Great photos! But when switching to HD, it gets stuck (unit is 30 feet from router and I have good internet speeds).

Don’t do the update. The update wants you to pay for the cloud so now it doesn’t work. Worked fine before I did the update. Not happy about this bait and switch.

confusing/incomplete. app is not user friendly. difficult to setup, muliti-user - forget it. Server too slow. where’s the user manual. nice hardware, app written by an amateur or you copied it from someone else.

Doesn’t work. The whole concept is a great concept, but it doesn’t work. It doesn’t record when birds are there, and it is very difficult to actually get the video back into your phone even though they tell you how to do it.

Do not purchase a JJ Home device!!. This is the worst thing I have ever experienced… DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING that uses the JJ Home app… their products malfunction, creators are not English speakers and there is no way to fix the issues.

Could be better with manual. Love the birdfeeder but it’s very hard to operate. Need a booklet. Sent an email asking for help and haven’t received anything.

Update ruined function. After this app was updated, the camera will no longer connect. It didn’t take pictures of birds before the app upgrade either. Camera and feeder has been a waste of money. Would give 0 stars if could.

Very inconsistent.. Connection problems are frequent. Battery drains quickly. Identification of birds is not good. Notifications are not good or nonexistent.

Hard to use. Keeps dropping from Wi-Fi and doesn’t show any birds. Battery is charged but keeps telling me it’s low.

It’s great when it works…. I have had this for months and every time I charge, it works for 3-4 days and then I have to reset it and start all over again. This time it has been 5 days and I cannot get the camera to connect to the app!!! So frustrating
