It’s ok. So, right off the bat, I’m not enjoying the moving around controls. Yes your can move it around, but to just look at it and rotate it instead of turning, is non-existent and makes getting back to upright orientation extremely difficult. You also have to press on your project to make rotating work. Another thing that I noticed that’s difficult to work with, is how fast the add/subtract tools work. It’s too fast to make minimal changes, even a quick little tap is sometimes too much, and adjusting the size doesn’t help, I’ve tried. Not only these but the light source is absolutely blinding if you turn to look in that direction. The symmetry is a little annoying with it lighting up every time to rotate but its bearable. Other than those, I can see the potential, it’s just a little difficult to control on phone/iPad

Best sculpting app I've come across. I've tried many of the other available sculpting apps and this is definitely my favorite. The other apps weren't bad but they had their issues. A couple used too much processing power; causing my phone to heat up until the app crashed whenever I'd use it for more than 10 min. This app hasn't crashed on me once. It's the closest thing I've found to Sculptris for desktop. All in all I love the app so I'm giving it a 5 stars my only issue or request would be to add a semi transparent marker that shows you the size of the area being affected as you move your stylus.

Great app but very heavy processing. It needs better administration of resources. It’s very heavy for my iPad Pro 12.9 first gen. It makes the iPad get really hot after a couple of minutes of using it. I love your app thank you.

Very Easy To Use. I think this is a great game because i just began making 3D models and it is very simple. The thing is, the buttons need to say what they do. I know the game has a tutorial but its kinda exhausting going back and forth from my model back to the tutorial just to check what a button does. After awhile i have memorized all the buttons but i think the game should say a bit more in the tutorial. Putty if you are reading this, please fix this. Thankfully there are no bugs that I have seen thanks for reading! P.S A lot of the other reviews are absolute nonsense.

Alright, but don’t use if you wanna 3D print…. App is okay. Great for sculpting but otherwise useless. The 3D printing export feature isn’t any good. Objects can’t be exported in high quality. Can’t be used for 3D printing….

Isn’t at all what I expected. Getting right to the point, this app isn’t worth it. The tools are limited and touchy, they only give you basic shapes to start out all your projects with, it’s clunky and hard to move about within the “canvas” and there’s no options to color your creation. Overall, it feels “incomplete” and is more of a hassle to get around more than anything. I honestly regret making this purchase.

What’s the point though?. You're probably not going to creat a masterpiece on this app. The scale of the build space is small. Looking for something to keep your 7 year old busy? This app might buy you some time. Personally I picked it up because I thought I could import and do light edits on my Stl. Files on the go. Turns out this app can only export stl. Files, not import for editing. Can you please develop an import function? That would justify the cost of the app, right now it’s not worth it.

Simple + fun!. I have practically no experience with 3D modeling and am finding this app fun and easy to use! Great for small projects – kind of like picking up a pocket-sized amount of quality clay from the art store. 10/10

Amazing App. First when I saw this app I thought it would be a complicated molding app and a waste of money. I couldn’t find anything other apps that seemed better. So decided to give it a try. I made my first creation in like 10 mins. This app is a fast, satisfying, simple, and relaxing app. If you’re a “pro” molder or are good at it then this app might not be good for you if you want to make something real realistic. This is my first day playing and already made ten creations. This is a really good molding app and I recommend it.

The game I’ve been looking for. It’s amazing how you can create 3D creations! You can even use a 3D printer to make your drawings come to life! Some feedback I have is the color of the material with the creation. If feel like you could add more colors for us to customize better! I also think you should a tracing board. It lets you use a picture from your gallery and puts it behind your creation so you can trace. Great game!

Eeeh. It’s a really cool app but when you try to move the camera it is way to sensitive and I can’t access the gallery but I don’t know I’m a little unobservant overall I think that it shouldn’t have such a high price for a drawing app and that I hope that there will be an ability to costomise the controls But just get the app

Rotating view is terrible. It’s just not intuitive at all. I find myself struggling just to rotate m y view. The sliders seem to go from almost no difference to massive difference in less than a mm

Decent, but Not as good as Claimed.... I am a blender and forger user and decided to give putty a try just because it looked like it might be really good and it does a lot of things a lot better but not enough to keep or pull me over completely. What I like about putty mainly is the speedy sculpting which is very quick and responsive, it has fantastic lighting - the best I’ve ever seen on ios, camera control, visual mirroring. However, I am rather annoyed with everything else, it’s just not intuitive, makes no sense, nothing is recognizable by standard 3d modeling which isn’t friendly to most artists from other software unless you’ve never used any others so it is confusing until you try to play with and figure it out, a grab brush is a must to push and pull geometry - just the add subtract smooth cutting and extrusions aren’t enough, no landscape mode for iphone, no good tutorials other than the quick one or a few sped up demos which isn’t all that helpful, and can’t even texture paint. I’m gonna keep trying to get the hang of it anyway and will update my review if I change my mind about it later on but as a Blender 3d Artist I find putty more frustrating than forger and blender combined even though I know there’s a learning curve for everything.

It’s not great. The controls are simple, but difficult even for beginners. The smoothing tool doesn’t work the greatest either. I was disappointed by this but I guess you get what you pay for :/

Waste of money.. I purchased this app hoping it would be a nicer, high quality app, as an alternative to another app that was relatively cheap and not great. Honestly, the old app was better. You cannot make a skeleton for your model, which makes it extremely hard to do something like a human, or anything with a realistic anatomy. It is very hard to shape, partly because you have a space limit, which isn’t very much. Once you reach the limit your work becomes square, and often you are unable to undo it far enough to fix it. it doesn’t give you a symmetry option, or at least from what i can tell, so on most of my models it would be half really nice, and the other half would look totally different. I’m being generous with two stars. The only good thing about the app is how smooth the texture is.

Good but one thing missing. I actually like putty 3d. But i was expecting to be able to add more objects to the scene. Hopefully this will be possible soon so I can give a 5 star rating

Best sculpting/clay App. I’ve tried several leather sculpting apps over the years this is by far the best. I like taking a screen capture then rotating the image of a little to the left and a second screen capture which gives a great stereo pair, for 3D viewing in an antique stereoscope or freeviewing if you know how.

Rough rough sketches only. I was hoping to implement this into my workflow but it’s too simple. I can imagine a character designer using this for a very rough sketch, other than that it’s entertainment.

Can you. Please make it possible to Change the color on different thing on the same sculpt I keep feeling like I’m restricted from doing things. I want to make different characters with different colors please can you add this feature other games have it and they’re free for example: 3D design it doesn’t let you have a pen tool but some how it feels better and it’s free

Does not give a tutorial. Ok it’s a good game but it does not give a tutorial so you just have to figure it out so yeah it’s confusing but if you figure it out it’s fun :D

Really good, have some suggestions though. I actually really like this app. It’s nice for my game development if I want to make a game purposely look thrown together (this is a compliment). It’s not exactly the most powerful thing ever, but you know what, it doesn’t have to be and shouldn’t be blender. However, I do think you should add the following: 1. Importing your 3D model into another 3D model made in Putty 2. Adding spheres, cubes, and planes via button 3. A way to have layers of modeling (so you could move scale and rotate different layers, extending the apps capabilities by a lot). That’s just what I think. Would really make this the best tool for 3D modeling for my workflow before I go to blender and have to learn that. Good job though!

I really want a refund.. It’s been a bit over 90 days so I can’t ask apple for the refund. I was extremely unhappy with this app! I tried and tried to use it but it just wasn’t working how I wanted it to. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a really well and professionally made app, and it’s fun to use and I’m sure others CAN actually use it. But I was just unhappy with it. All I can say is if you have the money, try it, you might like it!

Very beginner friendly. Coming in not having experience with 3D modeling the program was very easy to start up with and I found no trouble making things after a few hours, the only issue is not being able to go and color the model within the app, other than that I have no issues with it

No undo- don’t waste your money. There’s no “undo” feature- which can be extremely annoying if you’ve gotten a base you like, only to completely ruin it by not having the angle lined up right and having to attempt to fix it or completely start from scratch. Extremely annoying. Edit: Will also rob you of your money. Don’t buy if you’re not 210% sure you’re going to continue to use it more than once, otherwise apple will tell you it’s “not eligible for a refund”. It may “just be $5”, but that’s still a lot of money to waste on something you won’t use- especially in this economy.

Great, but... This app is great for 3D models, but if I leave the app without saving, it deletes EVERYTHING you worked on - I had spent almost an hour on a wolf model, then I exited the app, and it was all gone. Fix this please. I would also like to state, that you should be able to animate the models since you could make something really cool out of it

Wouldn’t recommend. The brushes barely Change size making it hard to do small details. Eraser brush leaves sharp edges. The smoothing brush just makes the part you want to smooth shrink. It’s hard to use and nothing is labeled. I’d recommend keeping you money.

Putty is really good. The only thing I would do to improve it is to add texture brushes. It would be so cool if you could add paint brushes as well to cover the model with paint. Also include more models to modify.

If you own a 3-D printer.... If you own a 3-d printer, this program is going to be such an amazing addition to your tools! It is capable of a lot more with iPad Pro from what I can see, but but my iPad (not pro) runs this flawlessly, and the ease in which anyone can make anything with just a little practice is a hot feature too. If you’re an artist, buy this. I felt like a pro after about 30 minutes, and I had my first prototype made for an idea in another 30 (of course, if you need precision, it’s probably best to use a computer and some sort of expensive CAD program). Either way, I have found this tool to be indispensable for the beginner as well as the pro 3D printer.

Has potential. ...but it’s so annoying that they decided that rotating the model is done with two fingers instead of one finger. At least give us a way to configure this. It totally breaks my workflow. I already use one finger to sculpt and why I would need to add another finger to perform the most useful operation which is rotate. Think about it. Add this and I’ll change my rating. This need a lot more settings for the user.

Totally cool. It takes a minute to understand what all the controls are but even just messing around with the clay is very fun

It pretty good. I like how this app gave instructions one how to move around and use it, and I like how I can easily make the character, there’s just one thing that I’d say is kinda disappointing, I wish I could color in the character my self instead of the one color options it gave me, other than that it’s a great app and I’m really enjoying it. :D

Something I want. I would give 5 stars but I just want to have a tool where you can make different color layers because i want to make vibrant sculptures with multiple colors

Putty 3D. It’s ok. But it would be more entertainment and creative if there was a gallery image import option. To be able to take a picture of a loved one for example and sculpt them then 3D print them as a statue would be the BEST ADDITION TO THE APP☺️.

Too laggy to work with. Just recently purchased this hoping I could stop working with clay for a bit. I can barely do anything in the app because it’s too laggy, it takes atleast 3 seconds to respond. Don’t waste your money!

Great. I’ve been searching for a way on IOS to make 3 dimensional art and this is perfect! Glad it supports 3D printing too, so bonus points for that. I highly recommend this good-for-begginers, intuitive app.

Hard to use and can’t upload to another app. It’s so hard to use! I can barely get around the tools and when I do, my fingers hurt. And uploading to another app? HOW DO I EVEN DO IT?!!!

Could have been good. I am using it on ipad pro and it is terrible. Some of the tools are so inconsistent and there are parts of the clay that are trimmed off stuck floating in space that are impossible to get. Sometimes the tools catch streaks across for no reason whatsoever and i have to undo and redo the simplest task over and over ...dont buy it

Dev Please... UPDATED. UPDATED: Devs have since fixed the exporting issues. I am now able to bring my sculpt into any 3D program on my computer by emailing myself the file! Thanks Devs! Old: Before I review... I literally just spent 25 minutes doing a sculpt, and when I went to render a photo it completely closed the app. And I didn’t save. Review. I use Zbrush and been looking at this app and another for about a year now. Never wanted to spend $5 or $10 to get a stupid app that I would never use. But truthfully, I think this app feels worth it especially with the option to have a stylist or something like apple pen. Pros: -Fairly easy to use / play around with -Familiar tools if you’re used to Digital Sculpting programs -Affordable price for what you get Cons: - apparently can just crash while exporting a photo (maybe while exporting the obj too) - the buttons and switches have no title and the images are kind of hard to understand. - as far as I know you can’t open the intro tutorial again, which is a missed success point. - fingers and hand gets tired about 15 minutes in on your first few runs. Overall worth for me.

Needs more features. First off, let me say, this app is pretty impressive for being on an iPad and it is fun to use, though there does need more features. One big one for me would be the ability to add more shaped. That can be good for making scenes and such. It would also be nice to see texture edits where you can change the texture and color of the object at different areas. Though I think if you are a beginner to 3D modeling then it’s pretty good

Good app some (serious) zbrush tools missing. Ok I love the app so far. Zbrush vet here and this is a good iPad app for clay sculpting. Problem. Where is the Move brush? I sculpted something I liked and it was just a circle. I really couldn’t move the jaw forward without having to model it all forward. Flatten tool? There are really no layers, so sculpting a body separate from the head is impossible. If you don’t have access to zbrush or you are away from your desktop.. well it’s a beginning app.

iPad Pro (gen 2 Pencil). I put off buying the app until seeing JustWaitinHere’s updated review saying the DEV had addressed project exports. I agree with all of his pros/cons. I also am a ZBrush user. I would not recommend using this app without the iPad Pro + Apple Pencil duo (and the in-app Apple Pencil exclusive settings). Navigation and usage become significantly easier. These settings are off by default so be sure to enable them after buying this app. DEV (recommendations) 👉 adding -2 finger tap undo- and -3 finger tap redo- gestures for all of the iPad artists that regularly also use Procreate 👉 object layers with hide/unhide/merge options

Good but STL sport is unreliable.. As a standalone program, it is very fun and immersive. It did export as an STL file HOWEVER when it was imported into Simplify 3D slicer program it registered 0 polygon count. Nothing! Too bad as it showed up in the preview window. Apparently the units of measure were so small nothing could be done with it, and Simplify 3D is an extremely reliable STL slicing program. Again, too bad.

It’s ok?. It amazing but expensive, It needs some better reaction time when moving the camera around and a optional color choice to Color things everywhere. Also it need some more templates for example a car, person, toy of some type, and other things so you don’t have to totally start from scratch. SOME good things are it has 3D printing options as well as many tools. Really my point is it’s missing a lot details for its price. A app that’s not on anymore was called 123d sculpt and it was AMAZING and a great price, in-fact it was FREE!

The hot key isn’t there. I have seen videos of the app and it has a plus and minus button that allows a change in adding material or taking away from the piece, but I don’t have it and it’s a very useful button help.

Great app, but with its downsides.. This is a great app, but for its cost I'd expect more colors to be available. Not only that, but it's a bit too hard to move the model around in 3D, to edit, or just to view it. Over all this is a great app, and would highly recommend it to anyone. If in the future the developers add more colors and enhance the ability to move the models around, then I would definitely give this app 5 stars.

Has potential. But need a lot of work, right now is so hard to sculpt with the current tools you feel like you don’t have any control, every sculpt end up looking way to smooth, we need a move tool and standard 3D brushes like crease and pinch clay etc. I will wait to the next update.

An incredible app with a lot of potential.. First off, let me say some of the negative reviews you see on here are pure nonsense. As a 3D artist who uses a lot of ZBrush I’ve long wanted something that could act in a similar fashion on the iPad Pro. This is hands down the better sculpting app I’ve used. Is it as feature complete as ZBrush? Of course not, but it’s also $5 verses $800. It’s a great app for playing with ideas and roughing out forms. I’d love to see some extra brushes in the future as well as a way to rotate the model using the pen in 3D space (similar to ZBrush). The app as it currently stands is worth every penny and more.

Fun and powerful modelling tool. Already made some cute characters I could potentially use in future games. Developer is responsive and working on improving the app. Obj export is planned so can't wait for that!

8.00 for nothing. This is absolutely just wrong,Money wasting and hard to use! Not enough tools and time wasting,you can barely even see what the tools are doing except for the first one idk why y’all saying this is ANY GOOD!even when I try to sculpt something and make a seperate dot it just deletes the whole thing when I try to undo the one dot.small amount of shapes to choose from and I can’t just make the shape because again.HARD TO USE AND NOT ENOUGHT TOOLS!I would rate this a zero but I can’t,so I give this bad app a 1.Do better

Best 3D sculpt app for tablets. It has a good overall performance and is very intuitive and fun to use. It lacks a few key brushes and subdivisions to make it 5 stars but if you love to create some concept or ideas in 3D, this is the app to do it. It is very stable compared to its competitor Forger app.

Missing a feature. I love this software it really is great, but i really think that you should add a move tool and a mirror tool, i struggle to sculpt things without those features. So i really hope you read this because I’m only 11 and love this app, but i hope you will consider adding these features. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Awesome little app, needs more features. Loving this app so far. So smooth and responsive and really intuitive to use. It reminds me of zbrush when it first came out, but needs a bit more features. A gentler 'pinch', like liquify in photoshop if you will, plus a 'crease' for sharper definition are needed to round up the tools. More tutorial videos would be great too for special tricks of what the app can achieve.

A lot of potential. Nice materials, nice feel. Very fluid. Sculpting tools need some work, was hoping for something akin to Pixologic's zBrush or Sculptris' toolset. A move tool is a must have, carving tools are way too sensitive. Try zBrush's trim dynamic brush, or polish brushes, they really allow for surface refinement. This is the type of app I have been waiting for, but it's just a bit too much of a novelty right now, if this could be used as a mobile sculpting sketchbook it could be truly excellent. I see you are planning obj export, that would be great for generating ideas wherever you may be, and pushing them forward on a machine with more power. Nice first pass, can't wait for updates!

Awesome. Needs more tools and it would be cool if we could have the ability to texture paint also.... when I’m sculpting it’s not smooth it turns out with raggedy edges, found the problem it was the lighting. The shadows appeared raggedy... create a better way to move the light or an option to cast no shadows

Great app!!!. Great app but you should make it so you can change the colour of what your making like in blender. If you add this I will not stop playing this game and I'm not a sculpted myself

It is fun but hard. I think you should add in a feature that lets you use more then one colour or even mix colour I also think it would be cool if there was different sizes of clay you could use or delete so instead or gigantic it could be big medium or small I rate it three stars because you can definitely improve it but over all it is fun also try to make it not as hard to use thank you.

Nice. I like the creative freedom that is held within, but it is a little laggy for some reason.

God awful. It’s like taking a lawn mower to your face. Absolutely impossible to navigate. The camera is extremely hard to use. A total waste of money and a complete rip off. Shame on whoever made this.

Can I get a refund?. This apps quality is terrible, it’s like it is 64 bit

super easy to use sculpting, great for the price. very fun app and a great introduction to sculpting! runs perfectly on my 2016 ipad pro. lacks advanced features like subdivision layers, and some sculpting tools like pinching/pulling, but makes up for that in its ease of use and optimization.

Voxel based vs mesh. I would liken this to 3D coat with a lot less control. Anyone looking for the zbrush iPad experience. Forger is where its at.

Limited. Doesn’t have enough things like combining, multiple color, so on.

Junk export STL files. Purchased app to export the CAD/ STL files to CURA and Cura won’t open the STL or OBJ file. I wouldn’t have purchased the app if I had known this. Please fix.. I would give 4.5-5 if fixed. It is easy and fun to use.

Amazing tool but needs one thing.... A COLORING TOOL!

Very limited what can be done at a professional level. It's simply a sculpting app for beginners.. Hardware used - iPad Pro 1 with Apple Pencil If you're a Zbrush or Mudbox kind of artist and are aware of how detailed one can get with less than 5 of the brushes provided by those apps, then you'll only get 3% of that experience with Putty 3D. There's no move/nudging tools or pinch tools. The lack of pinch tools means there's no way to organically create sharp edges or fine details such as pores or sharp, definition in musculature. Even if there were, the default sphere doesn't contain enough resolution to form them. Plus, there's no way to increase the surface resolution. One could get more resolution by scaling up the size of the default sphere, but the invisible box that represents the sculpting space maxes out at 4x the size of the default sphere. Attempting to grow the default sphere past it or drawing long appendages (such as legs or arms) will smash and flatten the clay into the invisible walls. Because of the resolution constraints, the most one can passably accomplish is a cartoony-looking head. You won't be able to create any portfolio-worthy piece that would get a client to regard you a a serious professional. This is just a tool for beginners and/or kids to fidget around with, and it is a good tool from that perspective. For a beginner-level sculpting tool, the performance is very snappy. There's enough resolution in the digital clay so that kids aged 13 and under would be able to make something that would impress their peers at school. And using the Apple Pencil to carve forms on the surface does feel pleasant. But despite the charming simplicity of sculpting in Putty 3D, making the childlike, blobby doodles on $1000 worth of hardware is an unjustifiable use of time and money.

Disappointment. I wish Apple would allow demos. I was hoping for a somewhat decent sculpting program but this one is far to limited. The tools are very limited. Very disappointed😫

[BUG]: It just crashes!. I was trying to use this app. It just crashes when I start a new project. I had to delete it instantly. I use an iPad Mini 4. Plz fix.

Good app. It’s a good app but it would be cool if you could paint with a brush or something to paint certain parts

It's ok. I wanted something that you could export to procreate to beable to draw on and the other flaw is not beingable to do squares.

Trash. Unintuitive and just awful in general. I’d gladly delete this for my money back! Also, the contact form on the developers site doesn't even work.

Hard to use and can’t upload to another app. It’s so hard to use! I can barely get around the tools and when I do, my fingers hurt. And uploading to another app? HOW DO I EVEN DO IT?!!!

Great but.... I love this app and it’s a lot of fun but some of the tools confuse me otherwise it’s a good app. Also how do u change color and material

Smooth tool under high poly is terrible. No rotate object not sure why. No, and yes no skin textures.

I’m upset.. I’m a 2D artist and I really want to learn how to 3D model. The app is quite nice, but when I was sending a screenshot to my friends of my progress, I came back AND IT WAS GONE. I do not advice anyone to buy this app, but since I did, I am not deleting it. MAKE THE APP HAVE A AUTOMATIC SAVER OR ELSE I WANT A REFUND.

Can’t get it to do anything. I can’t get this app to actually do anything. I’ve tried to get it to cut the putty but either the app does nothing or inconsistently cuts the putty as expected. I’ve emailed support bu haven’t to hear anything back. So far on my 2018 iPad Pro this app has failed.

Why Can’t I Import Files?. Also, I can’t see what I’m doing very well because it’s all the same color. And I don’t know where the y axis is

Difficult to use poor import/export options. Really bad very difficult to use the camera and the sculpting tools, cannot even use a simple sphere export because of missing UVs

Crash After Crash. The app crashes in the middle of projects and saving frequently to avoid losing progress causes my device to heat up and lag.
