So far By Far the best. We have been searching for the 'perfect' app that will service both Windows and iOS. This has been fantastic. We have 1 week left on our trial and pretty certain that we are going to pay for it. Some reviewers have stated that their children disabled the app. Well, maybe. There are other apps out there, Discord, amino etc, that appear to bump the VPN. Knowing this is half the battle. The other half is setting up the system (Screen time versus Entertainment time); as well as app restrictions in your child's device. My sons are 12/14. The 14 year old is OUR go-to when we don't understand technology... even he is much happier with this app! The time warnings are big, frequent and you can't miss them. It is extremely easy to halt the internet, add/subtract time, etc. We have been fiddling around with Microsoft Family for 2 years with FRUSTRATING results. NO MORE.

Doesn’t work. I have tried this a couple times first off it would not hook up my phone to my child’s phone and when it did it only worked at our house once she left the house the VPN would not connect It recorded wrong times and would randomly speed forward when my child had not even been on the phone My Daughter is 14 and was willing to make this work but the app is glitchy and doesn’t work I thought maybe because I was in the free trial that this was the reason but read numerous reviews that said the same thing and that once you went to paid they would not let you stop even if not working so I don’t think so

So wanted it to work.... I tried really hard. The service is so simple, and so well-designed, that I really wanted it to work. But the problems with unGlue are too much at this time. The application will not work for my daughter at school, because the school blocks all VPNs (and we need to be able to communicate with her at school). And in order to prevent the kids from “device hopping” at home (to avoid the time limits), we ordered the Puck. Unfortunately, the Puck does not work well. It is very unstable, and it significantly limited the WiFi network throughput. And support has gone totally unresponsive. Tomorrow, my Circle device arrives..... I’ll see if their service is any better.

Great App With Great Features. I had tried OurPact's premium service and the setup was so complicated I gave up without ever getting it to work on the first device. The thought of me having to go through this aggravation on 3 more devices was enough to make me go back to UnGlue. I had tried UnGlue with the free trial and it was very simple to set up and use it plus had more features. Kids can earn more time by doing chores or walking so this helps it to be more than an electronic police but teach them good habits. Great job UnGlue, I'm now a paying customer!

Do not purchase this app. We have three children who have smart phones, and used the free trial period for this app. We were happy with the app, so we plunked down the steep $100 for the family plan for a year of service. Once they had our money, the app began to act up. My son was able to override the VPN and use his social media whenever he wanted without us knowing. Once we figured that out and fixed it, the app kept informing us he was removing the app, which he wasn’t. Multiple emails and calls to tech support when disregarded. Once we finally talked to someone they informed us they would not be refunding our money for the app that was not useable. So we have three kids who have ridden the roller coaster ride of their phones not working, their apps disappearing, we are out $100 and back to the drawing board. So dissatisfied and frustrated.

Not a Parental Monitoring App. Maybe this app is just for iPhone addiction. I was trying to find a parental control app I could trust to block porn on my child’s phone, turn off at bedtime, and set a time limit on technology time. I don’t know how well it’s blocking porn. It does seem to disable the internet at bedtime, but not other capabilities and apps. I set a 90 min per day limit. I know she has been on her phone all day Sat, Sun, and Mon, and it always says she has time remaining because it doesn’t count time used texting and whatever else she does on it. The usage report on her ipad has been blank for a week. The usage report for the phone says she uses about 10 min today on various websites, but it’s obviously not an accurate reflection of her technology time. This app doesn’t do what I need.

Makes my child’s iPad useless. I deleted the VPN off of my son’s iPad and then deleted the actual app (per the directions), but his apps continue to be blocked according to the schedule I set up initially. I then deleted off of my phone, but the apps continued to be blocked. I reinstalled the app on my phone and went to settings and selected “turn off”...STILL his apps were blocked. I am beyond frustrated and wish I would have never installed this nonsense on his iPad. I literally have to grant him permission to watch anything after 7 PM or before 7 AM and the software is not currently on his actual iPad. A little scary this company can control when they are no longer installed on a device. Don’t waste your time or patience on this app.

great product . . . needs new features. unGlue has a great user interface for adults and doesn't patronize your kids. It works very well at creating a market where you can trade kid tech time for chores and it's easy to use. The Home Monitor function can work for you if you are pc-based and your kids use their devices in one main place. I'm looking forward to subsequent versions that will address the large group of parents for whom this is not true. Much better than the aps that your provider gives you -- and the best ap that I've tried so far.

Disappointing. The app really does not do what they claim it does. Agree with previous criticism that it does not have the ability to monitor all apps. So the bottom line is that no matter what you do, your kids will continue to have more screen time than you want them to. Additionally, if you want your kids to be able to watch Netflix, you have to DISABLE the app so they can use it. Bottom line is that it doesn’t do what they claim it does, and it’s cumbersome and annoying to have to worry about which apps it works for and which ones it doesn’t. Waste of money.

Worthless. Seems to work great until your child realizes all they have to do is turn the vpn off on their phone. Then there is nothing you can do to stop them from using the internet as much as they want to. It is as if I never even installed the app. (And of course by then you will have already paid the annual fee). I sent an email to unGlue support and they told me that having a conversation with my child about the purpose of the app helps. Seriously, don’t they realize that I have already had many conversations with my child about too much screen usage and if simply having a conversation would have worked I wouldn’t have had to purchase the app in the first place. This app is not worth your time or money.

Best solution for helping my kids. The unGlue approach feels just right for my family. I explained to the kids that it isn't about punishment or invading their privacy. I just want to give them a tool to be aware of how much time their iPhones and iPads are consuming. They weren't wild about the idea of it, but gave it a try. I've been generous in rewarding them with extra screen time when they finish homework, complete chores, and exercise. By the time the trial period ended, I felt like this was exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend! :-)

Best Tracking app I've found with super support. Added: LOVING all the recent updates! Thanks for being so responsive! The app support for unglue is second to none. Email support is prompt followed by phone support as warranted. I use the puck which was fast and easy to set up. There were some recent inconsistencies with tracking which app support handled thoroughly. The support team is responsive and patient. I loved the 2 week trial period so much that we prepaid for a whole year! Update email of thanks sent to Unglue Support: Good news and a step in the right direction... I left (son) at home last night playing away on his PS4. Per the app he was already out of screen time, but I figured I was fine with letting him play since parents were having a date night. I got home and he was lamenting to me that his PlayStation turned off at some point while we were gone! Thank you! I think some of what you did on the phone yesterday with me (deleting the duplicates) helped!

Great idea, mediocre performance. I was really happy when I downloaded unGlue. It seems a very intelligent app. I love the idea of chores to earn time and it had success with my child, while worked. I gave the 3 stars just for the idea. Unfortunately it does not work. I had problems and problems since I installed it. My daughter was using her Ipad and at my phone no activity was shown, one day it seemed to work well and the other it did not allow her using her entertainment time at all. After days of trying, I guess I unsterstand what happens: Roblox and The Sims (EA S) are the games she mostly uses at her entertainment time. I guess these two games are not compatible with unGlue and it is impossible to activate the Parental Control from unGlue with them. You have to turn off the vpn for allowing her to use them, but for a strange reason, once it is again turned on, nothing seems to work well: Or it does not register her activity allowing her to enter to any website or it blocks access to everything. Dangerous and frustrating. I sent 3 mails to support but no answer. It is a real pity. I guess I will need to search for another app.

Fickle but better than nothing. Some days I'm able to implement our family screen control policy. The screen schedule feature works pretty good. However there are many days where unglue fails completely at tracking screen limits and lets me down. That's the feature I really need. On apple devices the vpn often can't connect and stay connected to unglue: my suspicion is it's a capacity problem on the unglue servers. On droid devices that don't need vpn sometimes unglue stops monitoring altogether until you reboot the device. Some days the puck does nothing. When the puck is working it under reports time massively and doesn't recognize many of the common xbox games as screen time. Perhaps the worst part of our experience is that when unglue doesn't work I never know whether to trust my kids that they didn't try to cheat their screen limits. There are ways they can cheat and I've caught them. However more often than not unglue is just not working and I falsely accuse them. I was hoping unglue could do my dirty work for me with controlling screen time. Unfortunately I have to remain very active in monitoring my kids screen limits and merely use unglue as one of multiple data points in the exercise.

If only. UnGlue would be super helpful if it worked. It doesn't. -The activity monitor gives a list of websites your child supposedly visited: ~50% are true, the others seem to be random websites. -The home monitor doesn't work at all, at least not on my plain-vanilla windows 10 laptop. -Support doesn't respond to requests for help. Since support is also tasked with subscription changes, I question how you would ever be able to stop paying. -Kids get upset when the entertainment time function steals their time. It's really true. I sat next to my son as he did things on his phone and watched on the monitor as he was docked for minutes on Facebook when he never went there or anywhere connected with it as far as either of us could tell. - What is considered entertainment is not parent-configurable at all, and they haven't updated their list of sites in over 7 months. - Battery life on your kid's phone is seriously reduced. - I could go on, but I've already lost enough time to UnGlue.

Needs work. The app has an amazing and easy to use interface. It works well for controlling internet access. But the app does not work for blocking apps which defeats the purpose on managing screen time. Once my kids have used their allotted screen time, they can continue to use apps and games that don’t require internet access. I’m sure Unglue will figure this out eventually. But for now, the app is not ready for prime time. I guess it’s back to Qustodio for me which has a terrible interface. ***Update*** I noticed that unGlue added a feature that blocks apps after screen time is up. Though this is definitely a step in the right direction, unGlue is still missing the point of managing screen time. Right now if my “screen time” is set for 7am-9pm, my child can technically play games for 14 hours straight. unGlue treats “Entertainment time” and “Screen time” as two different things. What needs to happen is that apps stop functioning after the allotted “Entertainment Time” is used up. And then the child can earn more screen time based on chores. Screen time should just manage the time frame from which entertainment should be allowed and not treated as two different features.

Gaming change in kids education. Negotiation video game time with my son has never been a problem but following up was impossible.... Until we found UnGlue ! I could not be happier. Not only it is very easy to use , but is also helps teach kids the importance of planning (getting credits to use them later) and the concept of reward for the job done (as we adults experience in our professional lives) !! Thank you

Amazing. Not only can I set limits on the iPad, I can set a time for the WiFi to switch on and off!!! My son has a habit of sneaking in his iPad during the night. Now I can set his WiFi to turn off at a certain time so he cannot watch his videos. I also love how he can earn more time through chores or bank his time for the weekend. Great app!!! I can also check in and see what apps he is using the most. Thank you for creating this!!!

Good PC App. Could Be Better. Like the app design and functions also UI is easy to use. I like it as a good way to do parental control over kids smart phone usage. And VPN is fast enough at least haven’t heard complain of internet speed from kids so far. The app is well thought out and well built! However, unfortunately, I see one shortage of this app which is : it doesn’t really regulate overall screen time. It only limits the “entertainment time “ which is the time of using an app identified by unGlue as one of “entertainment apps “ which could be outdated or incomplete or inaccurate. There’s no way to customize based on what installed for what are the list of apps to monitor and limit the time of use. That shortage defects the purpose of reducing overall usage of a phone by a kid. I probably have to try out other PC apps before sticking on one to pay for the service

It works when it actually works. This is a great app when it works but there are times when it doesn’t work. There are days when time isn’t tracked right so they get more time and my oldest daughter has data on her phone and it doesn’t shut her stuff off at all only my two who use WiFi. It’s been frustrating trying to get it to take her time away and lock her out with this app and actually limit her time.

The best monitoring app by far!!!!. I have two children, an 8 year old boy and a 9-year old girl, and they love to use their electronics. I have tried all methods to reduce their usage time on their electronics, but there are just some days when they easily take advantage of the use of it because I’m not always around to monitor them. Now with this app I can do that! I can schedule the days and time the internet comes on and off, how long they are allowed to use the internet all while the app is blocking sites, protecting them, and monitoring exactly what they do in there. But the best part about this app is that you can reward them with more time. I’m telling you, I have never seen my kids get up and voluntarily wash the dishes, sweep the floor, and feed their hamster without me asking me to do so. Now when I’m at work, I get requests directly from my kids asking for me to approve their time in correspondence to what chore they completed. And trust me, when I get home and check, it is done!! Who knew!!!!! This is such a life saver. It teaches my kids discipline and responsibility and most importantly I don’t have to nag them anymore. I am so happy with this app. It is so worth it!!!!!

Disabled by my 12 year old in 3 days👎. My 12 year old is ALWAYS on her phone so I installed this app on both of our phones to help control her time. The first few days were great. I could see what apps she was using, what time and how long she stayed on. I made a list of chores and other things she could do to earn extra time if she ran out and the first time she used up her time, she did some laps around the block to earn more. This lasted 3 days and then I got an email saying that she had disabled the app. I was able to check her history from my phone and saw how easy it was for her to do a Google search and disable the unGlue app. The makers of the app say it's very difficult to disable the app, maybe it's hard for a 5 year old to disable but not for a older kid who spends 8 hours a day on their phone or any kid that knows how to use Google. What's the point of an app that they can disable. I almost paid for it, at least she disabled it during my 7 day trial period so I didn't waste the money.

This works. LOL. This app is great. Last night my two kids were fighting over which chores they get to do. No more fighting with them to get them to do chores. They are now trying to make up other chores so I can add them to the app. Get this App! Whoever is complaining about how the app needs to have internet connection needs to know it’s only when sending or changing things on the app. Rarely will you have to mess with changes or approving on the app except when you are home on WiFi anyway.

It’s good but just one complaint. I think the app is great and has helped a lot. My complaint is that there is no way to opt out of rolling over unused minutes from each day to the time bank. I love the idea of doing chores to earn more time but there is no incentive to do chores when they have built up the time bank. My daughter, over time, has rolled over 13 hrs! I mean, why the heck would she bother to do extra chores with so much rollover. I just think there should be an option to roll over minutes or not. I’d rather have her earn the minutes by doing chores and then use those if she wants a little extra screen time. I think it would make her extra minutes more valuable to her.

Zero Customer Support. Just like others who have recently reviewed this app, it was great to begin with. In the last two months, it stopped working. It stopped tracking the time my kid was spending on the phone. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling on both my phone and my child’s but nothing changed. I’ve tried reaching customer support through the phone number on the website, and have left multiple messages. I’ve also emailed many times with no reply. Not sure what’s going on, but I was forced to cancel my subscription and there is no way to refund the months that it hasn’t been working. So disappointed.

Manages same time bank across all devices!. I’m thrilled to teach my son how to self manage his internet time across his multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, Xbox, and a Windows laptop. I’ve set up the App to allow an hour per day, with the opportunity for him to complete chores to earn an additional hour per day. Love that he can motivate to do chores to earn more time in his ‘Entertainment Time Bank’. Also teaches him about saving, as unused minutes “roll-over” in his time bank for future use.

Spoke with CEO. Having spoke to Alon, the apps creator, I am genuinely moved by his passion. It’s clear his focus is on teaching parents and kids how to be smart with their tech use. Our house has had fantastic results with this app. Chores are getting done, expectations are clear, and there is less fighting over the phone. Alon was very open about the limitations mentioned in some reviews. It appears these are limits set by the companies that want to increase your kids tech use and serve their own needs. I really believe this app is being produced by someone who cares about your family along with building his business. My family has been very very happy with the results and I’ve recommended this app to friends.

Amazing App!!. We have been using this app for a while now (at least a year). It is the only app that I pay a fee for, and it is worth it. My 13 year old daughter has ADHD/Aspergers and has problems with self regulation. This app helps her to monitor her phone usage as well as her chores. She enjoys banking time so she can have more on the weekend or our less busy days. For my 16 year old I appreciate being able to turn her internet on and off so easily. It may not work out so well for most teenagers (It only lasted on my sons phone for a month). But it is great for younger children, middle schoolers, or those with unique needs. The best part is the amazing customer service. Anytime I have had a problem I get a prompt response. Usually the problem has already been fixed. I appreciate this the most.

Good potential, Terrible execution. Besides the wi-fi monitoring puck never being available to purchase, all was okay for a week or so when my daughter’s VPN decided to disconnect and vacillate between “connecting...” and “not connected”. Until then, my girls were earning all their phone time from chores, which was great. Unfortunately, because you have to have a computer hard wired to your home network, NOT WI-FI, access was pretty much limitless at home. Well, once the VPN decided to go on strike, it was a week or more of night after grueling night trying to make it reconnect using the one email per day I would receive from Support. They tried, but failed. I finally had enough when I called Support directly and was made to leave a message. Needless to say I have not heard back. I emailed Support to close the case as I was unsubscribing from their $10/month non-service. And guess what?! I don’t get any refund! Not that I had thought I would be offered anything, but it seems pretty wrong that the business doesn’t have to fulfill its claims of how it limits your kids’ phone use but can still collect for it. Save your money and most important, your time.

Poor customer support. Unfortunately, I have made multiple attempts to contact customer support at Unglue. They have chosen to not call me back or email me after trying to contact them multiple times. I have 2 children; a 15 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. I purchased the yearly subscription thinking this would be a great online tracker for both my children. My son plays Fortnite on epic games and somehow his time while playing is not recorded accurately which defeats the whole purpose of putting time restrictions in place. Due to the lack of response, from Unglue, I have no choice but to forewarn potential customers.

No Screen Time Management. I have mixed opinions about this app. On the plus side, it has a nice layout and the “rollover” minutes are a nice idea. On the negative side, the app does not actually control much of the screen time, it simply controls the internet connection which means many games can still be played and it does not report it or restrict it. As for blocking “inappropriate content” it just has a single switch to toggle on and off. Obviously I don’t want my kids watching porn but there is a full spectrum of content out there and the app gives no control over what it is blocking it’s just on or off. I’d like a report of the domains that were visited and all of the apps that were used, not just the ones that are registered with UnGlue. I would like control over what apps can be used during the restriction times. Good concept but not comprehensive enough for our family.

Lacking. For the most part this app does what it says. You can block internet access and allocate time/reward your child. My issue has been reporting. My child easily turns off their VPN. At times I’m notified, others I’m not. Additionally, at times I would be notified that my child was not connected to UnGlue when they actually were. (Hence the 2 stars). Where I feel UnGlue really fails is that it lacks app control. (In defense of UnGlue, they don’t advertise this as a feature.) However, let me explain. If your child has a favorite game that doesn’t require internet access, they can play for hours and hours because UnGlue doesn’t “control” anything other than internet access. In other words, UnGlue doesn’t limit screen time. It limits internet time and provides parents a little filtering. This may need your needs, but it just didn’t meet ours.

I really hope they can get this working. Great idea but no where near being ready for commercial production. Works decently for iOS apps. For non iOS devices (Xbox, PS4) it doesn't work at all (it will record a few entries - but the times it records are wrong by orders of magnitude). The kids can't watch Netflix when outside of home wifi as the service uses a VPN (which Netflix blocks). It took my 13 year old about half a day to figure out he could bypass the entire thing by simply turning off the VPN. I've spent a few hours this week trying to implement this in our house. The only way this will ever work is if they partner at the operating system level with Apple, Microsoft, Nintendo etc and get buy in/cooperation from Netflix and others. Until then, it's just a huge hassle that doesn't accomplish what's promised.

Overall Great App.. I downloaded this about a week ago for my 10 and 7 year old. Has helped tremendously in getting them to help out more with chores and earning time for good behaviors. I like that i can tweak the chore list for our family. Love the idea of being able to save time if having a busy night. Wish the times you can give would be customizable. Taking time is pretty good but giving time either is 15 30 or 60 only. Also thought it was a free app but clearly not. Not sure if I will pay for it yet. Like the overall app but a few tweaks would make it a 5 star app.

Seems to be out of business. Lots of recent reviews saying signup doesn’t work. Recent interview with founder on The Pitch (podcast) by Gimlet Media - he says the launch of Screen Time by Apple killed their business. Apple pulled this app from the store when they launched Screen Time because they didn’t want the competition, not sure why it’s here now if the business is actually dead. 5 Stars for making a product that did more than Screen Time does. Wish I could manage all devices instead of just new IOS devices.

Great App. We did the free trial and then purchased Premium for a year. For parents that are not technologically gifted, this is very user friendly. I really appreciate the way the developer suggests discussing this app with children to help it feel like a benefit as opposed to a consequence. Screen time management is so difficult, and this definitely eliminates arguments. I feel that this company cares about helping children in this technology driven society.

VPN turns itself off!. This app is problem prone. VPN randomly turns on and off on kids phones, cause unknown (I don’t think they could do this, and shouldn’t be able to if they can). Monitoring is interrupted periodically for hours or days at a time. Sometimes I am notified, sometimes not. Unable to fix or even troubleshoot problem for various reasons, including sometimes VPN shows as enabled and functioning on kids phone, but on the app on my phone I see ‘turning on (daughter’s) VPN’ message, and it hangs there forever. Couple this with the fact that this app doesn’t enable me to limit screen time, only internet time (kids can still play games not requiring internet) and it’s simply ineffective. Don’t waste your time or money.

Has potential but not there yet. This app has a lot of potential but it just didn’t do what I needed it to do. I love the idea of entertainment time but in practice, entertainment time did not include all of the apps I needed it to for my kid. Every kid is different and I think for this app to be effective they have to allow for customization of what is counted in entertainment time. The interface was good and easy to use and set up is very easy. I was disappointed by the customer service/support. They sent me lots of emails saying they wanted my feedback but I never got any responses to any of my emails. By contrast, I am also trying out Our Pact and every email I sent received a response in less than 12 hours, and usually within 1-2 hours.

Good in theory, not in execution. Entirely dependent on the integrity of the VPN. If it is accidentally or intentionally disconnected, the parent won’t know about it for hours, so there’s no point. There’s also no way to tell if the VPN was intentionally turned off, and it switches off by itself all the time, so there’s no accountability. This could have been a great app, but I spent most of the time reminding my child to turn the VPN back on, validating his claim that it was turning off by itself (it was, at least some of the time) and then not trusting any of the data from the app (there’s no way he spent 3 minutes of entertainment time in one day)

Been looking for this. Ive tried three different apps that are supposed to help me control my child’s screen time. All have fallen short until unGlue. It allows my child to manage his time wisely, to learn about getting more time for chores and how to bank his minutes. Its been a challenge for him and has turned into a game to maximize his minutes. Thank you unGlue! Love it

Great philosophy in screen time management. The pragmatic approach that Alon and his team use to approach the issue of screen time management is refreshing and useful. We don't need a parent-substitute, but it helpful that the "enforcer" is the software. We didn't start using until we had the discussion with our child about why we were doing it. This made it much less Big Brother and much more Effective Caring Parent.

Parent suggestion! 2 things.. I just downloaded this app. Easy set up. Loved the features! My suggestion is this though. Make the items (chores) manageable for parents. I would like to enter my own chores and activities to earn screen time. Also I would like to adjust that time. I don’t think 15 minutes of screen time is worth it for just taking out the trash. That means my kids would be only doing that chore. There needs to be an adjuster that can limit how many times easy chores are done maybe too. Or at least the option. Every family is different so having the ability to adjust types of work, work loads and time earned would make this a 5 star app for me. Thanks for all your efforts.

Terrible Customer Support!. The app sounded great and just what I needed. However, it would not work. It recognized some of the devices on my network but would let me turn on/off their WiFi access or limit based on minutes. I sent 4-5 customer support requests and got no response and no help. Even copied the founder on the email. Horrible customer support equals lost customer. What a shame. Being a successful business can be so easy if you just please your customer base and offer a product that works. I do not recommend this product in the least bit.

Entertainment Time is too limited. I had high hopes for this app. It is very straightforward, simple, and easy to install. But after the first day of using it I have discovered that it has a serious flaw. Basically, there are two ways you can control your child’s screen time: you can set a screen time schedule (i.e., the hours during which he/she is allowed to use the device). For example you could say they can use the device between 10 am and 5 pm on weekends. The other component is Entertainment Time. This allows you to specify how many total hours per day your child can use internet-based apps. For example you could set the limit to 2 hours per day (so for example, your child could use the apps for 2 hours anytime between 10 and 5). The problem is that there is a prescribed list of only about 200 apps that are included. So if your child is playing any one of the other thousands of apps out there, it is not included in Entertainment Time and the child could theoretically play those apps continuously from 10-5. Why can’t the developers shut down ALL internet-based apps after Entertainment Time has been maxed out?? Alternatively, if keeping a specific list of apps is needed, can the developers please add them to their list in a timely manner when parents request them? I’m still waiting for the apps I requested to be added to the list.

No customer support. I tried this out for our kids and were excited after doing all the work to set it up, get buy in from the kids, and start a new way of being online. It went well until somehow our password stopped working completely. I tried to reset it using the email account associated with the account and it said a new password link was sent but it never arrived. I’m not an amateur, I checked all the usual folders but nothing. You cannot reach this company except by email and even then guess what?? You STILL can’t. I sent three emails and never received a reply. I even emailed the CEO who seemed friendly enough when he asked me to sign up but was radio silent when I asked him to help me understand why I never heard back from his company. Onto a competitor I guess.

THIS ISN'T A FREE APP. I've just downloaded unGlue and have gone through the set-up; it looks like a great app and will really help out with time management, but beware - this isn't a free app! You get two weeks (I think) free, and then after that it's a $10 mo/$84 year service fee to continue to use all the basic features. I'm giving it only three stars because of the misdirection and that I haven't used it yet; once we get going we'll see how well it works.

Disappointing. I tried the free version of this app in the hopes that it would be better than another screen time app I’ve used in the past. I am very tech savvy, and downloaded the app onto my device and my kids’ devices. I love the idea of it, but it simply didn’t work. Either that or my kids easily figured out how to bypass it. The kids are 10 and 12, so if they figured it out, that’s not a good endorsement for unGlue. When I contacted customer support it took a number of days for them to get back to me....with useless information. The best part is that after my free trial was up I kept getting obnoxious notifications saying that my kids now have unlimited screen time and the like. Nope, not true. Apple actually has screen time limits that you can set and we found a far better app that can actually lock their phones remotely (like really lock them).

Horrible Customer Service. I tried this App and yes I do have to say it works very well. I took advantage of the free trial and it did very well. Did not subscribe to it right away and in that time got a new phone and my phone will not pair with my sons. Emailed customer support about this issue after going to the common questions area and following instructions as far as install and uninstall on both phones. I emailed on August 12, 2018. I received a automated email response stating that customer support received my request and they would be in touch soon. I have yet to receive a phone call, email, smoke signal nothing.

Great app but messes with medical app on phone. My son and I have tested this app over the weekend and we both really liked a lot about it. The chores for time and the steps for time we’re fantastic. He loved that ability as much as I did. Unfortunately we had to uninstall because it created issues with his medical device app (Dexcom for Type 1 diabetics), which requires constant internet access to share data. Even though his regular internet time is set to unlimited on UnGlue , it seemed to create some kind of conflict- I’m assuming it’s the VPN but not sure. I wish we could have kept it since we both really liked how it worked. If anyone has a medical device app on their kid’s phone, I highly encourage testing this first when you can be together and don’t rely on the shared data for a few days. The interference wasn’t all the time for us this weekend, but happened often enough not to be able to trust this as we’d hoped we could.

Love this app!. No app is perfect but this is very close. My kids are 12 and 14 and although they are good kids they are drawn to the screen time just like everyone else. This app has balanced out the control of the screen time. They both have taken more of an active role in monitoring their own time. The chores option is our favorite. Even with co parenting with my ex we both still can share in the application and implementation of the app as we each can sign on and get the kids’ requests and app notifications etc. We can all be on the same page and I love that. This is exactly what we’ve been looking for. Well worth it.

Not good. Alerts on my phone come hours after my kids have used up their screen time and most of the time it doesn’t prevent them from getting on. It doesn’t work on Roblox full stop. Very frustrating. I was so hopeful! I just want their phone to shut off when their time is done!

Terrible. Pretty sure this app should be removed from the App Store. It no longer works and no app support, no working website. I had to hard reset my daughters tablet to get back access and remove this app.

Great...but only free for a trial?? :(. I was excited hearing about this and it working well for my daughter and I. She even liked the bank time idea for chores. However I didn’t realize that it was only free for a trial period (2 weeks). After that u can only see the kids usage but have no other controls. Very disappointed!

Not counting down time and can not access FAQs to see anything. I have had this for a couple days. I installed it on my phone and she got it on her iPad. First it sends a “link” to download and pair but only to phone numbers. I have an iPad, it doesn’t have a phone number to text. Second, I download it and set it all up. It doesn’t count down time at all. She spent 20 minutes on YouTube and it still said she had the same amount she started with. Then I figure I would go into the FAQ to find out if there is any answer to this and the developer has let the subscription to their help desk page lapse so no answers there either. If developers see this please help for crying out loud!

So close to perfect!!. Overall a great app and an easy-to-use interface. After trying many parent control apps this has been the easiest to navigate. The only thing missing for us is being able to completely lock out the phone. My young daughter gets 30 minutes of phone time in her bed before sleeping and although the internet time locks her out, she has full access to all offline games. Full shut off is also useful for encouragement of unleft chores, finishing dinner, etc. If there was an option to lock her out of all games this app would be perfect! Would be great to see this added down the road with an update. Thanks!

Loophole. My son, the second day I used the app, realized that if he’s already on an app he won’t get kicked out when the time is up. Also, where is the price? How can I opt out if I don’t want this app after the free trial? My kid was on insta for extra time even when his time was up.

A good App. Love this App because it gave me more control over my daughters internet entertainment consumption (very necessary). And it has a lot of great features, and is organized in a thoughtful, intelligent manner. The one thing that in my opinion is counterintuitive is the Time Bank. I would love to be able to select a chore and put it in the forefront, and when it’s been done, tick it (or the like) and then the minutes would be put into the bank. And any left over time from a day when she has leftover time, could fall into another section of the bank or something....??? Thankyou for this app!!! Love it!

Unable to complete sign up. I was excited to try this app but after putting my details in and setting up a password it loads for awhile and then says unable to create account. Deleted!

Too Expensive. The App is a great idea, but waaaay too expensive.

Did not work. This app made my kids more angry at me whenever I used it. It is just easier to make an arrangement with your kids

Can’t sign up. App doesn’t load past first page, can’t sign up for an account

Messed up vpn on my iPhone x. This app needs more testing, I restarted my iPhone x after installing this app. My phone kept asking for vpn authentication, not even giving chance to enter anything. The popup kept coming and closing non stop. Restared my phone again, quickly before it could pop i tried deleting the app, first time not successful, tried twice and then I could. Now it doesn’t let me turn off the vpn from settings. Its messed up!

Working well. So far our 10-year-son has loved this app. He has more incentives to finish his homework early, to make his bed and do his chores in order to gain more time. It’s amazing how an extra 5 minutes can keep a kid responsible 😊

No help, support, doesn’t work at all but I wish it did. I tried to contact this company after downloading it on my phone and 3 of my kids devices and it didn’t work. I asked for help several time and even reached out to the owner via email who invites you to in an email after you download and still crickets.... I really wish this would’ve worked because it’s exactly the kind of parental app I wanted but I went to Circle which is so-so.

Best app for tracking kids usage of internet. It’s the best way to control usage of the internet for kids. You can even control time and choose the limited time for them. It’s the best way to give time for reading books for kids. I liked it very much!!!!

East use!. I loved this app. Great feature was warning kids internet would be shut off and then did so automatically! It also helped a ton with only letting my 10yr old have use age appropriate sites. The kids (10&13) didn’t like it at 1st adjusted easily and liked how they could earn extra time.

Unable to register. Not to sure if unglue is till working? I download the app and try to register but I get an error msg saying that my registration couldn’t be completed. I Send few email to support and I have not receive an answer yet. Try to register with a different email and I get the same msg.

Question. Is there a way to block texting when time is over as well? Or other apps like games ect I just downloaded but was easy to install love the extra minutes for chores ect

Better by far. I love that this app lets my kid have a time bank to use and she can earn more time by helping out around the house. I don’t have time to turn an app on or off to let her get time in (the previous app that I used to monitor her time) and I love that this app tells me what she is doing with her time, too. So far so good.

Unauthorized Payments. I didn’t think I was purchasing anything because I wouldn’t have purchased this. I was trying to explore it to see if it was what I need. I was looking for parental controls and got this which is completely useless. I deleted the app after realizing that it wasn’t what I wanted which did not take long. So far I have been charged twice and I don’t know how to cancel!

A near miss. I'd give this app a 5-star rating if not for two things. 1) The premium price is way too high ($12/mo is unreasonable, whereas $5-6/mo would be fine). 2) Disabling the VPN every time my kid wants to play Roblox is a pain. Other apps similar to this one have no problem with Roblox working with their VPN. If Unglue were to address these two issues, I'd be all in with a premium sub and 5-star review.

Partially works. Pros: It allows my son to work towards more screen time by doing chores approved my me through the app. It allows me to schedule the time my son can use per day. Cons: The app is useless when it comes time to shut down the apps after time has been used. My son was still able to access some apps. Other apps I’ve used allowed me to shut down all apps except phone calls and texting.

No customer service response. I managed to forget my password, and there’s now way to reset it. I tried contacting the company with no response. Email only, no phone number provided. I spent money for a full year subscription, and I was only able to use it for a couple months. Not happy. That’s a lot of wasted money.

This App does NOT work. I have two children where we installed the app on iphones and ipads. If the device is turned off or goes into airplane mode, the VPN shuts off....and doesn’t turn back on. It doesn’t accurately keep track of time used and the reporting of where the child has visited is flawed. I asked for refund as was simply told how to cancel auto renew. I sent another email asking who to contact to discuss dysfunctional app and have been ignored.

Good, but.... Good app with lots of features but it won’t let my son access things like Netflix or Roblox unless I spend 40+ dollars on a puck to run on our home network in addition to the $10/month. I only want to use this for summer time so it doesn’t seem worth the cost.

Love the idea, doesn’t actually work. I couldn’t wait to try this one. I love the idea and it would work really well for my son. The problem is it doesn’t work. He has an iPad and at least half of his games still run no problem when the time is over. It’s a known issue but makes it useless for me. I hope this is fixed soon and I try it again

Amazing!!!. This app is amazing. My children are doing chores, reading more, walking the dogs, and pretty much anything to get more screen time added to their daily limits. It’s also wonderful being able to view their Internet history daily.

Not working and very unstable. We tried this with great hopes. My daughters iPhone 6s simply wasn’t taking it (using the iOS 11). The VPN kept disconnecting and it was nothing she did. It was pretty much useless. I cannot renew this thing. Good thing I only tried it for a month first. Do not commit for a yearly subscription if you are not positive that it will not have issues first. I for one will probably never return. Too many issues and bugs.

Well can’t even get past loading the sign up page. I really wanted this app to work as I’ve heard good things but I can’t even get past the sign up part? After I put in my info two blocks just jump around on forever and I have yet to be able to even create and account any help would be great

Customer support has disappeared…. So frustrated that they seemed to shut down the service and didn’t tell anyone. Especially since the site is still up and the app is still in the App Store. The support page no longer works and they no longer reply to calls, e-mails or web messages. Other than a few glitches this app was been good. Customer service used to be amazing. I have special needs kids that are now having issues because they won’t call me back to resolve anything.

Doesn’t do what it says. It has sent me notifications of my daughter using up her allocated data even on a weekend that her device was sitting at home while she was at her dads for the weekend. Then when I tried to send a message on their website it kept giving me an error. The section of the website to find FAQ is not an active page. Sending them a message on Facebook is pointless because they haven’t posted anything in over a year, oh except 1 time a few weeks ago which is an odd post.

Can’t use app. I have been trying for two days to make an account. I get to the last screen when it says make a password and then It will load for 3-5 minutes and then says unable to make an account. Really wanted to use the App, but unable to.

Stopped working for us. Worked great for over a year. Suddenly neither of my daughters’ devices would stay connected to WiFi. We spent hours over a couple days trying to troubleshoot until it occurred to me it might be UnGlue. Once the app was deleted from their device and the management profile removed, the devices worked normally again. Bummer, because it was great until that happened.

Great app but high price. Definitely effective so far with my kids. They like that they can do chores to earn more time. I like that they are learning responsible use of technology and helping around the house. Only issue is the price.... little high for monthly subscription compared to other similar apps.

Intermission. I would love to see where we could incorporate breaks into the all day usage. Example- every couple hours the parent has the option to incorporate 30 min breaks where we can make the kids get up and move. Thank you!

Confusing and ineffective. This app is useless. I’ve sent 2 emails to customer support, and I’ve only had the app a month or so. You set Entertainment and Screen Times. Apps are still accessible after both times have expired. It shows my kids’ phones off when they’re still on them playing. I wasted $59 on this piece of crap app. Just save your money and set timers on your phone to tell your kids to get off their devices.

Like the feel of this app but a lot is wrong. I would email support team with questions and got one auto reply back. And nothing more! My issues -Can not see location of phone when internet was turned off by unglue. This was the deal breaker for not want to move forward with unGlue! -The child’s app wouldn’t reconnect the morning after the internet came back on. They couldn’t see there minutes. Would have to turn airplane mode off then back on for it to connect, then it would prompt to put in user name and password. Mind you it would still monitored them as long as vpn was showing on there phone. This continued everyday for us. I so wanted this app to work. Just doesn’t not sure why! I love the feel of unGlue. Great layout just get those others things fixed and I will come back!

Nice when it actually works. We’ve had so many issues with this app. Either the VPN goes down which makes it impossible for my son to get online at all, or it slows down the WiFi, or now, the kids app refuses to connect to the parent app. Hopefully the new parental and screen time controls coming to iOS 12 will make these apps unnecessary soon.

Limited features and No customer support. I downloaded the app to try it, but I quickly realized the functions available in the trial were limited. Then I upgraded to premium, and I could not get it to work on the other devices. I called their support number and nobody ever answered or replied to my messages. It has been almost a month and I just finally cancelled my subscription today.

No support at all. I couldn't get it to work to actually limit the time my kids were on wifi. When I reached out for support, the owner of the company made a phone appointment with me and never showed up to our meeting on his conference line. I then put in 2 support tickets and never heard back, so I cancelled my subscription and am using "Circle By Disney" to control my kids' time now to great success.

Chores galore. My teenage daughter is extremely motivated to do chores. She wasn’t doing anything before. I made up a ton of little things like putting clean towels in the cabinet and she does it. Thank you for this great app.

Love. I love being able to have a family meal or movie without having to nag my children to get off their electronics. This makes my life so much easier! It also helps reward and encourage my children to do chores and homework. I even set extra rewards for good grades.

Wish we could select apps that need to be limited and add additional categories. We like this app okay. It does not register several of the games that my kids play. If I had the ability to add more apps to the entertainment category it would be a 5 star app. It seems like things that don’t connect to WiFi are the problem apps.

Awful. I have used this app for a year. At first, I was pretty happy with it. However, I discovered that many games my daughter was playing were not counted toward her daily time limit. I contacted customer service, and they were unhelpful. Finally, the app quit working altogether. Again, customer service was unhelpful. The final blow was when the service was automatically renewed (over $80), without warning, and when I contacted UnGlue support within one hour of renewal, they would not refund my money.

Looks promising. I downloaded the app a while ago before it had all these cool features for my family. I used it to keep myself on track. I updated it today and these features looked really awesome. I am bummed because the price is really steep for my family at this time. 😞 taking it off and disconnecting before we get charged.

My kid is back!. We have tried lots of different ways to monitor screen time and between Wi-Fi and data services I've struggled. This app finally allows us to disconnect and bring the kid we know and love back from the technology zombie.

Probably should be in Beta. We've been running it for a couple of days. It keeps telling me that it hasn't heard from my kids' devices, but when I check them they seem to be connected. The "home" dongle works intermittently, which might be a big part of the problem. At any rate, whether its my kids' computers or iPhones, the app is tellling me they aren't using social media even though I seem them using it.

Non existent Support. Empty promises and lack of support seems to be a common place anymore for applications like this. I really wanted this one to work, has all the features i wanted and was looking for. Even emailed the CEO he made some promises and I never received them (the puk) the home monitor does not work, the apps lock out my kids phones for no reason, they disconnect from VPN often. When trying to reach support I get automated message saying the will get back to me, but a month goes by and nothing!

Very Disappointing. This app simply does not work. I don't know why. VPN seems to be installed correctly, but no usage time registers at all. Useless. And no phone support. Just message boards. Very disappointing. I'll be cancelling and asking for a refund for my one month of payment. The comments about this app being more of a beta release seem correct. And yet they're charging full boat for the product. I may try again when they get it right.

Great tool. Easy to use! This App allows my daughter to manage her own time and made her realize how much time she did spend on her phone. She also enjoys helping out with more chores in order to earn more time!

Great app for some applications. We give our children a daily time limit on their iPad usage. This app will measure the amount of time they spend on online games but it will not measure the amount of internet time and time spent playing games that are actually downloaded. I did pay the $40 to get the “puck” as some of my son’s internet games would not work through the VPN. I think Rob-lox was the culprit, just so you know. Great app but make sure it does what you want. Tech support and the CEO always got back to us within three days as we worked through these IT issues. Thank you,

Profile installation failed. When I trying to install the Profile on the second device failed, it says “mobile device management is already installed”. What should do next? Many thanks!

Won’t let me use it. I’ve downloaded it and set everything up on my side and when I went to set up the kids part it’s no longer working. It’s just loading no matter how long I wait can’t get past the log in screen

Good but.... Even with WiFi supposedly turned off, they can still receive iMessages, but cannot send them. (This is a WiFi only phone, no cellular). Half my need for this app and use of $10 a month is to be able to block incoming messages during certain hours of the day.

Helpful if using only the listed apps. This app has great potential. I love that my kids could earn extra time by doing tasks. However, if your child isn’t playing the games or using their listed apps, there’s no way to monitor. Kind of defeats the purpose. Wish I had known before I paid. Live and learn. There must be something better out there.

Fantastic!!. I used a few other apps, but they really didn’t suit our need. We wanted to be able to monitor usage and allow access to music and texting but impede other non productive activity!! This works!!!

Terrible customer service!. For a paid app the customer service is terrible. I’ve sent two messages and my third keeps getting rejected for an error. I haven’t been able to connect to my son’s account in WEEKS! Don’t waste your money. There is clearly something gone wrong with the app and it’s support team. Update: no response here or the phone calls! It worked great when it worked, now it is garbage.

Looked at em all. We test drove all the parental controls currently available. In terms of ease of use, features and cost this is the best. Sadly none of the “best of” online reviews listed unGlue - so we only found out it existed by digging through the App Store. Very glad we did - my kids and wife all live it.

Not quite there. I was excited about trying this app with my kiddo. Unfortunately, it does not have the requirements I need. I want to lock down all gaming apps, but this only turns off the Internet usage. Also, it would be nice to be able to put a time when chores need to be completed. A bit expensive for what offered. I also find the web filtering lacking.

Wish it worked for me. I tried the trial and it worked great, when I purchased the subscription, it wasn’t showing the time that me daughter spent on her device. I tried contacting unglue through email and phone for help troubleshooting, but I never received a response. Now I have canceled and it doesn’t look like I’ll get my money back since they won’t even contact me back.

Don’t get. App worked awesome during free trial and then paid for the year and figured out there are quite a few games that the kids could not play while being on the vpn so they all figured out how to disconnect it. Then figured we’d buy the puck and eliminate the vpn but then my son could not play any of his computer games because it slowed down the internet speed so much so he figured out how to disable that. One of the major flaws is it is so easy for the kids to disable it.
