Rehearsal® Pro is the #1 best-selling app for professional actors!
Want to learn your lines? Want to be off-book, and book more work? Grab Rehearsal® Pro now!
Rehearsal® Pro is the app for that. It, and its predecessor, Rehearsal® 2, featured in the New York Times, Fast Company, LA Magazine and BACKSTAGE, became the entertainment industry standard for cast and crew to organize their scripts for auditions and working on set. Battle tested in Hollywood and around the world by professional actors and acting students.
And now, there's Rehearsal® Pro.
"I love this app! Rehearsal® lets me learn my lines in the car while I drive to work. It already saved my butt when I was thrown a major new dialogue scene 45 minutes before we started shooting it. I plugged the new scene into Rehearsal and I was off book by the time I got out of the make up chair." -Clark Gregg (Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Desperate Housewives, New Adventures of Old Christine)
"I am very pleased with the results of using Rehearsal® so far. It is a powerful tool in preparing for auditions, or for days of work, especially when I am pressed for time. It is easy to use and I have no doubt that as it evolves, it will be a part of my work process for a long time." -John Carroll Lynch (Shutter Island, Dexter, The Drew Carey Show, Body of Proof)

Hey there, Pros! Here's what we've been working on for this update:
1. We've added a new field to the Script Information screen, for the name of the Show you're working on (not just the episode).
2. The new iPad Pro has a new area at the bottom of the new screen to protect in iOS 12 and above, so we added new code to give new respect to this new issue. Who new, right?
And we stay on top of the usual nips here and tucks there to keep you running smoothly. Plus, we're always working on other improvements.
VERY IMPORTANT: if you're having difficulty, view the Help files (just tap on the Help button on the main menu), or visit:
...where we've got tutorials, how-to's, FAQ's, videos and more - as well as a Help Message form. Use that - we'll get right back to you.
Please set your preference for updates to your apps to be automatic. We want you to always have the latest and greatest Rehearsal® Pro! To do so, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store on your device. Under Automatic Downloads, enable Apps.
While you’re using the app, we wouldn’t ever want to interrupt your rehearsals by asking you to rate and review us. However, if you find Rehearsal® Pro useful in your acting practice, please take a moment to give us a nice rating and review in the App Store. It really helps. Thank you!
Enjoy! All of us here just shouted, "Break a leg!"

A pdf reader with some insanely clumsy interfaces, and an awful audio recorder. What a waste of money. The front page is well designed (for a comic book app, which is isn’t), but the rest of it is out-of-date links, awful interactions, and pages urging you to download other apps to do what this one can’t. I don’t have any idea why you would buy this. I wish I hadn’t.
Pros: Everything that an actor could want. Seriously - EVERYTHING! The developer thought of it all and the options are things that could only be thought of by someone who's in the industry. I'm old school and love the high Light blackout function to study lines. (Yes, I would normally cover my lines with my hand...) And tinting pages to show which ones have been added into the original is also on point. Bookmarks, recording scenes... All options are impressive and would make life so much easier when preparing for a show. However..... Cons: Sadly this was glitchy from the start on my iPad mini. At first, it wouldn't accept my password. One could argue that I typed it in incorrectly from the get go and that's fine. Quick fix was to do the "forgot password" and redo. But that was only the beginning. Since installing, the pages are extremely slow to render, I've lost portions of my work from the last time I worked on the script (highlighting, text notes, recordings...) and had to redo several things many times over a period of two days because the previous version didn't save properly. I just feel all in all that there is no backup should something go wrong which make me extremely nervous relying on this app. I've read all the other comments and wish that I felt better about this purchase, but I don't. My gut feeling is that It was a waste of my money. I would love to try this on the android platform to see if it's an iOS specific issue, but that too is impossible as its only for iOS...
Love the concept but it keeps on crashing! Which is ridiculous considering I had to pay 20 bucks for this app.
I don’t see how they have not updated the resolution for the iPad Pro 11”, no excuse at this point
Could not log in after I registered. I was told this app would be simple to use. It wouldn’t even let me get to the starting gate. Each time I tried logging in a window appeared saying I had the wrong username. No, I had the CORRECT username. I’m cancelling the account and getting a refund
I got a new phone and now it will not open.
OMG Rehearsal Pro, where have you been all my life? I’ve been a professional actor for over 50 years. I HATE learning lines. I’m looking forward to the day when I can just insert a chip into my brain. Until then, this app is genius. I’ve always done the old cover-my-lines and then check-to-see-if-I-got-them-right method, then after that find a friend or neighbor to run them with me so i’m not thrown when a human voice gives me my cues. This app replaces all that and saves me from annoying people with my “please run lines with me” requests. There is a bit of a learning curve to find out to to upload and record but be patient. The result is well worth it. Happy customer!
This is an excellent tool for all actors. I was having a little trouble with a bug where the recorded scene would not go to the page for the playback. The support team responded very quickly and was very helpful. I like the fact that they didn’t try blaming my iPad, what I might have been doing wrong, but just said try this. If you are finding this problem, don’t use the bookmark to go to the page you want to record, but rather scroll to it. They are working to fix it now and hopefully by the time you read this, it won’t be an issue. I’m just grateful that it’s $20 well spent.
Editing previous review the situation was due to having a carry over account from an old app resulting in two accounts. The developer called personally to walk me through getting everything functioning properly. Great experience!
This is the first ever review I’ve ever written for an app, but it deserves it. I use this for every audition I have where I need to memorize more than a few lines. It’s incredibly helpful. I was recording and playing back lines before I knew this existed, but this has made it soooo much easier! It’s hard to get people to run lines with you as much as you need to memorize things. This helps you get off book and I’ve even used it to help me with self tapes when I don’t have a reader! It’s a must have if you’re an actor! And if you have any problems, just write support; they’re very responsive! Thanks David for your brilliant mind, app, and everything you do to support actors!!
This app is almost a complete failure. It struggles to upload scripts, it loses them repeatedly. It has a very clunky interface which makes marking up scripts very difficult, and then after spending hours dragging through the process, it simply loses the editing, forgets all the bookmarks, removes the highlighting. Overall, a complete failure, unfortunately.
Steve Loyola and David Lawrence get kudos for fast and effective and caring tech support!
After trouble shooting for 30 minutes I've given up. It's not worth it.
As a student of David's I use this app ALL the time. It has worked well for me with no trouble at all, knock on wood.
This app crashes all the time especially in the editing phase. I would be cropping my ages and all of a sudden, then app would give an error message and the work was gone. The work is gone permanently at this point and there is no way to go back and re-edit because you're only allowed to do that when you first upload your script (Why? I don't know!). This expensive app needs A LOT more work before it's sold to the public.
Using an iPad Pro. Just bought the app, and every attempt to crop a PDF causes a crash and loses all the edits. Have tried 4 times now. And every time, after the crash the script is aged with no crops, and I have to start all over again. Was hoping to memorize faster; instead spending all of my time with a faulty app.
They say they upgraded all kinds of stuff but not in my opinion. Pretty much the same as rehearsal 2. Also kind of bugs that they make you pay full price, even if you have bought the other 2. Next it's gonna be rehearsal pro premium, then charge people another 20 bucks. Waste of money
Usually doesn't work
I rarely write reviews- but this app is a mess. When an app is designed to assist someone's livelihood, it should be a bit more reliable. I had heard good things about previous versions (and it WOULD be great...if it worked) but this version keeps deleting scripts, losing updated scenes and crashing. Incredibly frustrating.
Preparing for auditions has never been easier When a new script arrives in your e-mail just sent it to your private Rehearsal Pro e-mail and it shows up to "add new scripts" in seconds. You can manipulate your script in any number of ways; highlight it, record it, add notes, and more. Keep your script with you on any device. Don't know how I ever prepped without it. Thanks David.
It's not a bad app, but you can't edit lines, in the manner of adding words, or even adding stage direction quickly and easily. The "Add text" takes up too much room on the screen, even shrunk to it's smallest possible size. Basically unusable in a rehearsal setting.
