Hey there, Pros! Here's what we've been working on for this update:
1. Thanks to the help of one of your fellow users, Mr. Curt Johnson, we were made aware of a nasty bug that would make render comments as blank when syncing. We finally tackled that issue and wrestled it into submission. Thank you, Curt!
2. We simplified the deletion of scripts, and the display of script names, along with a couple of minor cosmetic touch ups to the My Scripts screen.
3. You'll notice a new main menu layout, in advance of a really awesome announcement we'll be making soon, that will change the way you use Rehearsal® Pro. Stay tuned for that!
And we stay on top of the usual nips here and tucks there to keep you running smoothly. Plus, we're always working on other improvements.
VERY IMPORTANT: if you're having difficulty, don't leave us a bad review. Instead, view the Help files (just tap on the Help button on the main menu), or visit:
...where we've got tutorials, how-to's, FAQ's, videos and more - as well as a Help Message form. Use that - we'll get right back to you.
Please set your preference for updates to your apps to be automatic. We want you to always have the latest and greatest Rehearsal® Pro! To do so, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store on your device. Under Automatic Downloads, enable Apps.
While you’re using the app, we wouldn’t ever want to interrupt your rehearsals by asking you to rate and review us. However, if you find Rehearsal® Pro useful in your acting practice, please take a moment to give us a nice rating and review in the App Store. It really helps. Thank you!
Enjoy! All of us here just shouted, "Break a leg!"

By far the best app to comprehensively learn lines by combining the visual and the auditory to get off-book more quickly.
Couldn’t love this app more. Have used it for years and swear by it. I tell all my friends about it. It is one of my most valued preparation tools. Kudos to the creators.
I have been using the Rehearsal Pro app for several years now and find it invaluable. Whether it’s for class, auditions or (best of all) a paying gig, I wouldn’t want to be without this app. Run, don’t walk, to the App Store and get it!
This app used to work well. I’ve been using it for years and even paid a premium price $20 when it first came out. In the last year or so it’s become very glitchy and does not work nearly as well as it used to . Very frustrating. I can’t even use it anymore
App constantly crashing, unnecessarily expensive, and ridiculously complicated and you have to outsource all of your scripts in order for it to work
But I’m having trouble logging on . I’ve created two accounts and it keep saying my password is not valid when I know it’s is what’s going on . And I did subscribe and verified my account 😠
I just bought the app and I created 3 accounts, confirmed each of them via email but can’t connect to any of my accounts??
A pdf reader with some insanely clumsy interfaces, and an awful audio recorder. What a waste of money. The front page is well designed (for a comic book app, which is isn’t), but the rest of it is out-of-date links, awful interactions, and pages urging you to download other apps to do what this one can’t. I don’t have any idea why you would buy this. I wish I hadn’t.
Pros: Everything that an actor could want. Seriously - EVERYTHING! The developer thought of it all and the options are things that could only be thought of by someone who's in the industry. I'm old school and love the high Light blackout function to study lines. (Yes, I would normally cover my lines with my hand...) And tinting pages to show which ones have been added into the original is also on point. Bookmarks, recording scenes... All options are impressive and would make life so much easier when preparing for a show. However..... Cons: Sadly this was glitchy from the start on my iPad mini. At first, it wouldn't accept my password. One could argue that I typed it in incorrectly from the get go and that's fine. Quick fix was to do the "forgot password" and redo. But that was only the beginning. Since installing, the pages are extremely slow to render, I've lost portions of my work from the last time I worked on the script (highlighting, text notes, recordings...) and had to redo several things many times over a period of two days because the previous version didn't save properly. I just feel all in all that there is no backup should something go wrong which make me extremely nervous relying on this app. I've read all the other comments and wish that I felt better about this purchase, but I don't. My gut feeling is that It was a waste of my money. I would love to try this on the android platform to see if it's an iOS specific issue, but that too is impossible as its only for iOS...
Love the concept but it keeps on crashing! Which is ridiculous considering I had to pay 20 bucks for this app.
This is the best line learning app on the market. The process is quick and it is so so helpful for learning lines on your own. I have recommended it to many theatre friends and they love it as well.
This app is almost a complete failure. It struggles to upload scripts, it loses them repeatedly. It has a very clunky interface which makes marking up scripts very difficult, and then after spending hours dragging through the process, it simply loses the editing, forgets all the bookmarks, removes the highlighting. Overall, a complete failure, unfortunately.
The app is great, but I was having an issue saving my audio recording. I sent an email to their help desk at 1 AM and got a DETAILED response that completely solved the issue a 1/2 hour later from the founder of the app David Lawrence. I ended up crushing my audition the next day as a result, and booked my first paid gig! The app is five stars without a doubt, but the customer service is undersold by a 5 star rating system. Genuinely cannot say enough nice things about these people.
I've been a fan of the Rehearsal app since the first version. It has been, by far, one of the most helpful tools for rehearsals and auditions. These latest updates are fantastic. My only gripe is that I'm having volume issues across devices. If I record on my iPad and then open the scene on my iPhone, the volume is significantly lower on the phone and it's hard to hear my cue lines. I docked one star for this, but overall the app is incredible worth the price!
Truly an amazing app to learn lines. Not only do I use this for for learning my lines for an audition but also for scenes in my classes. I'm a visual and auditory learner so I love recording my scenes and listening to them on loop on my way to class or while I'm doing tasks around the house such as laundry or doing the dishes. I haven't fully used this app to its potential but excited what the future holds with this app!
I love this app. It literally helped land me what has now turned into a recurring character on a popular soap opera. I know there are still some glitches that need to be fixed - and I'm sure David and his team are addressing those - but if you can get it to load, have a little patience setting up the scenes and recording the lines, it's an audition and performance game-changer in the industry. My recommendations: 1. Auto load and crop all pages of the script once an email of the script has been received. Then it's just up to the user to delete any unwanted pages or reorder them. 2. Enhance the AI to detect silence after the actor finishes their line to begin the pre-recorded other character's lines (I know, this one might be impossible). 3. Make a social aspect of this app...asking any available other user to record the other lines so it's not your own voice talking back to you. Or, if there's a way to have a Siri/Alexa like AI read the lines, that would be cool too. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Thanks for this amazing App, David!
I don't write many reviews when it comes to apps but I have to this time... this app is F'n genius! I've been using Rehersal for awhile now and I got to say I love the functionality. The only problem I had with it originally was it would only work on one device at a time… Now that you integrated all devices it's absolutely perfect! Whenever I get a script or sides the first thing I do is download them on my rehearsal in the process starts. Thanks guys DDP
This app is even betterthan the last one put out. When you have several scripts to memorize, this app is a lifesaver. I am somewhat technically challenged, this app is so easy to use. Makes my life as an actor so much easier. The customer service is splendid. When I have had questions David Lawrence answers them swiftly and efficiently. Reading some of these other reviews that are more negative, I can't understand why someone would post that. If they had a problem , all they need to do is send an email or call.
Steve Loyola and David Lawrence get kudos for fast and effective and caring tech support!
After trouble shooting for 30 minutes I've given up. It's not worth it.
As a student of David's I use this app ALL the time. It has worked well for me with no trouble at all, knock on wood.
This app crashes all the time especially in the editing phase. I would be cropping my ages and all of a sudden, then app would give an error message and the work was gone. The work is gone permanently at this point and there is no way to go back and re-edit because you're only allowed to do that when you first upload your script (Why? I don't know!). This expensive app needs A LOT more work before it's sold to the public.
