Typical Aspyr rip-off. The controls are horrible, especially on the iPhone. Load times are bad also and it is clear they ported the game without any quality assurance, the same way they did with KOTOR. Good thing I took advantage of the $.99 deal. Update: The quick save crashes all the time to the desktop - still another example of why Aspyr is a fraud company. I have emailed them prior about KOTOR's flaws and they blew me off saying it was my device even though I had friends running into the same issue and it kept happening on multiple devices. Apple should ban them from making games for IOS. "Elegant touch controls???" What a crock of turds! Worst controls ever! Seriously! Fighting and the game makes me change opponents against my will? How many times have I died because of that? Seriously, whoever wrote the controls for this game and the inability to skip repeated cut-scenes should be fired - this is our consumer fraud. Seriously, the person who approved his game as is should be slapped. You have got to be kidding me! Over a year and the quick save still crashes to the desktop? Aspyr you guys are idiots!

Not really playable on iPhone X. This game seems really cool content-wise, but it is not compatible with my phone. Whenever I try to load a quick save after leaving and reentering the app, the game crashes and I have to return to an earlier save. I’ve contacted Aspyr support and they just told me to turn my phone off and on again (doesn’t help) and then contact Apple support. In addition, the camera makes it really difficult to see what’s going on; the low close angle means I have no idea what’s going on behind me, whether there are enemies or barriers there, etc. The controls are mushy: there’s a half-second lag between input and execution which makes it feel like I’m shouting commands at my character instead of being her. In combat, there is no way to switch what target I’m focusing on. I have to fight the target the game selected for me across the field instead of the one in front of me about to stab me. I hope BioWare plans to fix these issues, but if not I am gonna need a refund because I can’t deal with losing my save file and crashing every time I exit the app.

10/10. Exactly like the game we loved to play on Xbox. I was skeptical at first but this is truly the same as the Xbox version. Navigating is extremely simple.

Better than it should be. First off it’s actually formatted to a phone. Instead of just dropping a d-pad on the bottom left like fez it’s more like an invisible joystick. Second it runs really well which blows my mind cause I remember playing this on the Xbox and thinking it was the future of gaming so if you want to enjoy a bio-ware gem on the go I can’t imagine a better game.

Too much space needed. Awesome game but way to much space is needed to download. GTA San Andreas doesn’t need that much space and it offers way more stuff and is a way bigger game. Can someone tell me why this game needs 3.5 GB of space to download? Weird

Not bad. It’s a good game . I just wish you will allow me to play full screen . I can’t do however on my iphone . I got it switched over and last time it full screen . Now I only have half of a screen . Please fix . This game has so much potential.

Jade awesomeness:special edition. Hello the Jade empire: special edition, okay I owned this game for the Xbox way back when. Anyone who doubts this is the game STOP. This is it! I like the touch screen controls, at first I was concerned but ounce I began playing the controls are very much like the OG controls from the xbox. The graphics are somehow look better on the iPhone and the sound, combat, it’s all great. With that said, walking around I found was a little bit of a challenge. You walk straight just fine, but walking and turning can be a bit sticky. But that’s the only problem so far I found. All dialogue box’s are nice and big you can easily scroll through and choose the answer you want. The game isn’t super hard, but it isn’t easy ether. And the fact I haven’t seen one ad is super cool too. For $10 I mean may sound like a lot but but in the day they charged $50+ so you’re getting the whole game for $10. That’s a great deal. The Jade empire is a true masterpiece.

Great Game; Clumsy Controls. Jade Empire is a classic game and the iOS port is very good, but the game is borderline ruined by trying to play it with touch controls. This isn’t so much the developer’s fault as the fast-paced action combat which feels extremely sloppy on touch. You’ll spend more time fighting the controls trying to get your character to do what you want than beating up enemies. I’d skip JE on iOS unless you have a controller.

Love it. This game brings me back to my childhood playing it on the original Xbox. It has everything I remember from when I was 10. Thank you so much for the nostalgia

Very nice but would have loved this. The game is very nice and fun to play I wished there was a way to play after the game was over because I would like to finish all the other side missions

Knowledge is power. Hey would it be possible for you to make an update that allows us more options for base martial styles (Willow, seven thunders, etc). Also please add a female strong character Thx

I removed 30fps cap!. I backed up my iphone 8+ to my computer using itunes. Then i used iexplorer to navigate to the apps-jadeempire folder. Found the config file. Right clicked and clicked something like “bring me to source file” which highlighted a strange file with tons of letters. Luckily i could open this file in windows10 notepad. You could see all the advanced graphic settings. I edited “clampfps 1” to “clamp fps 0” and saved. Then i plugged phone into pc again and restored latest backup on my iphone. It worked! It takes some work but The fps is now buttery smooth and no longer capped at 30fps!

Needs an update. Okay, this game is still fun but it needs to be updated to run better on modern hardware. The screen doesn’t fit, the date, network, and battery are still displayed during gameplay, it can get very quite sometimes, the thing can drain battery (probably because it hasn’t been optimized), and it’s hard to control at times. All these issues have existed since I’ve had my iPhone XR and we are 3 months into the iPhone 15’s cycle. Please update!!!!!

Terrible Controls. I want to love the game since the story and setting are intriguing, but the controls are just terrible. Dodging and looking around in combat are horrible. I’d much prefer a button option or maybe double tap instead of swiping since it’s so inconsistent

Amazing at final boss now. Went with the closed fist way first and I have to say way to fun and deep stories and options to choose

Disappointed...Honest Review.. First off, let me say I loved Jade Empire on Xbox. However, This has game has been a huge disappointment and I regret buying it. It seems to be an exact port of the original. It’s been many years since playing the original, but I don’t know what is “special” about this edition. 1. The graphics are not hi-res and the game does not optimize the current technology. It looks old. 2. The game screen does not optimize the iPhone XRs screen. The play screen is a lot smaller than it should be, and leaves a large black border around the screen. 3. This causes the buttons to be very small, making controlling the character very difficult. 4. I’m not even 20 minutes into the game and I doubt I turn it on again. Very disappointed. 5. Would like to see this game optimize the current tech. 6. This game has been over hyped. Really wanted a stand alone game, I could enjoy without all the P2w crap. This isn’t it.

The. G-d. D—m. Camera.. The auto targeting in this game is a complete mess. In any fight with more than one or two opponents it switches around constantly, jumping from one target to the next like a rodent on meth. Which leaves your character spinning in place like a top and unable to finish anyone off. The camera can’t handle confined spaces. Whenever you’re in a wall or corner it zooms out so you can’t see your character anymore, making it impossible to fight. Oh yeah, and you are constantly fighting large groups in enclosed spaces. Love the ideas and ambition, but you’ll spend more time fighting the controls than the enemy ninjas.

Saving before a fight. The game and controls are fine they're just whining but the save feature needs some tuning a few quick save right before a fight you have to get a different safe or start the entire game over if you use just a quick save

Best game i ever play. It like mass effect except u use martial art as a weapons I love the storie and I felt like a hero who save the the city in the game this game is a master piece it deserve a lot of love glad I bought this game it worth every penny and I like the quest story and romance option where u can atleast choose to be gay which it rarely happen to this kind of game

Where is our sequel?. The iOS port is very good. It's almost as good as the Xbox version save for a few camera quirks. I love the game but I'm upset Bioware hasn't given us a 2nd Jade Empire, when they've release multiple dragon age, baldurs gate and mass effect sequels.

Ipad air 3. Had to open from app store page otherwise get black screen with audio

YES! and no :(. Yes yes yesssssssss I have been waiting forever to play Jade Empire again. Everything is the same which is perfect. The only downside to being ported means that the controls are not as good. Especially when you're playing on an older iPhone 6s. My screen is generally big enough to play games but here the controls don't let me block, jump, attack properly. I'm getting my but kicked by some random thugs when I should be showing them my closed fist and punching through mountains instead. I want to finish this game bc it is probably my #1 game tied with Mass Effect, but the controls cause me to die so easily it's infuriating. I'll see if lowering the difficulty will help me.

Combat controls ruin an otherwise interesting game.. I never played the console or PC version of the game, but was a big fan of KOTOR as well as the mobile port of it (highly recommend) so figured I’d give this a shot when I heard it was from the same developers. There are some similarities, but the thing that made KOTOR shine on the mobile port, the nicely animated but essentially turn-based-dice-roll combat system is not here. Instead it’s a fairly fast paced reactive combat system that simply doesn’t work well on mobile. I switched the difficulty to easy to get through the first section of the game with less frustration but between the annoying “lock-on” targeting system that switches between enemies seemingly randomly and then doesn’t allow you to move freely and the general clunky layout of the controls, I was more frustrated than entertained after about an hour of gameplay. It’s especially disappointing because the story telling and character leveling system seemed fairly interesting and unique and made me want to progress further. Just not worth the terrible controls. Don’t waste $10 like I did. If you haven’t played KOTOR, go buy it, even if you aren’t a big Star Wars fan, it’s a great game. If you have played it and are looking for more, I think you’re out of luck. It seems unlikely a KOTOR 2 port is coming at this point, and Jade Empire falls painfully short.

Jade Empire deserves a sequel. This game is hands down my favorite game of all time. As a kid I played this gave beating it over and over with different characters and honestly can say it’s worth $10 for the game.

An under appreciated gem. As a lover of both RPG games and Martial arts alike this game has always been a favorite of mine. It has a compelling narrative, a surprisingly well done combat system, and plenty of interesting mechanics and locations to keep you on your toes. Once I saw this available on the App Store I just knew I had to have it. I just wish this game got the KOTOR treatment and received an update for iPhone X to take advantage of that bigger display. Fingers crossed

One of the BEST. If you are looking for an amazing action RPG from the makers of Mass Effect and KOTOR then you have found it. This game is spectacular and I have loved it since it's initial release on Xbox and PC. I am extremely grateful that Aspyr has kept it up to date and hope to see more amazing titles from them in the future for iOS. KOTOR 2 with Restored Content would be a really amazing gift for us to buy up if you ever decide to Port it. Thanks again Aspyr, we appreciate all your hard work.

Fun classic. Story so good I couldn’t put it down. Amazing storyline. Kinda clunky movement (because it’s such an old game), forgot how good the story is. Was worth every second

Great game.... controls ruin it. The graphics and gameplay are great. But the controls... especially during battle make the game difficult at first ... then ( as far as I can tell) unbeatable once you fight The Mother in the caves. The battle requires you be able to move and you can’t. I cannot get past it, even on the easiest settings because of how difficult movement is. Got to give 3 stars for everything else though .... wish I could give 5

Awesome game! Not supported anymore.. This is an awesome game that’s filled with content. It’ll definitely take you awhile to finish. Problem is it hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. Newer iOS devices like iPhone X are not supported, so the screen size is squashed when you try to play it. Generally when an app hasn’t been updated in over 2 years, it’s a sure sign that it won’t be updated anymore.

Great "wuxia" RPG good MFI controller support. First, to correct a previous reviewer's comment: the iOS version does support the "area attack" through a MFI game controller. You just have to hit both power attack and quick attack buttons together. This was definitely confusing since it's not listed in the controller diagram in the game menu. Area attack is vital since it pushes clumps of enemies away. Besides that this is a classic Bioware RPG. The combat is definitely real-time relative to say KotOR but is basically positioning and rock-paper-scissors. It does get pretty awkward on touch which is why I bought a steelseries Bluetooth controller which has worked well so far in a day of play. The voice acting is generally very good. The plot and humor are rather cliched but nevertheless fun.

Amazing port, updates would make it perfect. I’ve been playing Jade Empire for years now & telling friends to get it too & the only downside it it never gets updates

Pretty good game but mfi controller issues. Play d through the game with the normal controls, which are clunky but you get used to them. I just got a mfi controller and tried to play the game. It works great, EXCEPT, the area attack button is MISSING. It's not in the controller map, it's not even included in the fighting tutorial. It's like that attack, often a crucial move, doesn't exist. That ruins the entire game for me. Why does it say full mfi support and then remove features.

Bug. Overall love the game the targeting can be annoying but I find it easy Orr to deal with then the cutscenes I’m on iPhone 11 and the cutscenes have the auto cutting out constantly I think if it was up dated and just fixed the 2 main issues it would be rated 5 stars easily but due to not being able to listen to some of the cutscenes u are missing out on some of the story to the game

How about an update. I really enjoyed playing this on Xbox back in the day and wanted to give it a go again. Unfortunately the game just isn’t updated for current phones.? The screen size is limited and certainly needs to be fixed. It’s a no go for me until that happens…. If it happens at all.

Can’t say enough good things. This game totally caught me by surprise as to how good it is. Most ports from other systems have trouble converting controls elegantly. This game makes it feel like it was designed for a touch screen originally.

Seriously Amazing. This is the best game I’ve played in a while. The controls are weird at first but in about five minutes it was super easy. The storyline is emotionally investing and I couldn’t stop myself from playing it.

Impressive. This game is impressive and the owner this game is incredibly intelligent. First you start this game kinda confused you but after you play for little you will see how the story goes and I can’t even believe in the end of this game your only family betray you!! I

Pretty good iOS port with some room to improve. What it needs most: 1) freeze action from the Mac version that lets you halt everything, look around, and select your enemies 2) camera control that lets you look around sometimes—like at the floating palace that you otherwise can’t even see above the capital 3) setting for manual-only enemy switching. 4) some easier way to switch between all fighting styles than remapping the quick switcher Pros: - it works on iPhone and iPad! - clever addition of Cloud Save to allow transfer between devices - I’m able to play fairly well with the touch controls, both regular and advanced Cons: - it often gets into a choppy state after sleeping that can only be fixed by doing the “iOS force quit” and relaunching - all touch controls in advanced mode only work VERY LOW down. I wasn’t able to heal until I happened to do it near the bottom of the screen. - not having the things I previously listed as “needing most” make the gameplay less enjoyable and less in control - if the cloud saving could be automatic without too much trouble, that would keep us from getting stranded on a device that doesn’t have the latest save(s) on it

Loved the original game but poor coding makes the game difficult to play. Originally I loved this game, but as you play you start to find things that really are so irritating. First off while fighting, your target moves CONSTANTLY, it’s such a pain as you fight an enemy and almost kill him and then it automatically changes your target. Or even better is when it is constantly changing your opponent and you are fighting round and round in circles. You can’t control like on a gaming console which is what you have to expect when using touch screen devices instead of buttons on a controller, but they should have realized this when programming the game. It’s like they just tried to throw this in the market as fast as possible and didn’t even think to fix certain game play aspects. I know the Star Wars: Knights of the old republic had aspects of that game that made it transition easier to a touch screen experience but some of those options should have been brought in to this, or just a whole other outcome... I’m furious because it just makes the game intolerable... no wonder it had such a low rating on the google play store... should be the same here.

I wanted to like it..... The controls are really not adapted well to a touch screen. Kind of felt like carving a turkey with a spoon. Probably could be done but it’s not ideal. On top of that my attack controls disappeared after a while and I had to go back to an older save. I guess I could get a mfi controller but if I do that I will just break out the old Xbox.

Great port. Great game with fantastic battle mechanics , great story line and not to mention the fun mini games to mix it up. Just recently though, I haven’t been able to load my save up, the bar gets loaded all the way and the game crashes.:/

A Great Port of a KOTORs successor.. Great work, Aspyr. I love using the "expert" touch controls. Work like a charm. I only encountered one bug, that being I could not retry Kang's final mission after "disengaging" once. Other than that, smooth ride. BUT, I'm going to nitpick here, the apps name doesn't fit on my iPhone, and shows up as "JadeEmpire...". I assume the name is "JadeEmpire: SE". Could you guys shorten it to just "JadeEmpire" so the ellipses don't appear? I know, big nitpick, but I feel this would be trivial to change unless you can't call it that for legal reasons. Thanks, Aspyr Team, please continue the good work bringing these amazing games to my pocket!

Bioware make sequel and people buy this. I played Jade Empire constantly as a kid on my original xbox. I have played this games more times through then any other game i have EVER owned. I long for the day Bioware decides to make a sequel for this amazing series they really need to. Spend the 10 dollars and buy this game it plays just like the actual xbox and it takes me back every time I play it. I still have my xbox special edition disc i love this game so much i bought it twice. I also hoped Bioware would notice sales for this beautiful app and see they need to make a sequel also. Do your self a favor buy this.

Hidden RPG gem. This game will forever go down in time as one of the most hidden/overlooked/underrated RPG gems of all time. For those of you whining about controls - it's on your phone. Be grateful you can simply experience this amazing story on a road trip or wherever. Don't like dying because of a small screen and touch buttons? Change the difficulty of the game to "Student". Fixed.

Epic. I don’t write a lot of reviews but just had to for this amazing game. It’s truly epic. I’ve been playing it for months now and I’m just now nearing the end, sad to say. The story line is super deep and multi faceted. Gameplay is very smooth. Characters that you interact with are unique and full of personality. If you are a fan of this sort of game where you start out on your little island and then head out into the big world while you gain experience and the storyline unfolds before you then this is a must have. This game is leaps and bounds beyond other games of this genre. A+

Definitely worth playing!. If you liked KoToR, this is worth playing! Very few games do I play multiple times making alternate choices and getting to experience multiple different endings. This game deserves a lot more attention than marketing has given it. It’s creative, dynamic, well thought out and worth the cost. There are no in-app purchases sand it will keep you engaged.

Bad controls.. The port is okay in general. It might be good with a controller. The touch controls on the iPhone are HORRIBLE. I find it never moves where I want, the style changes constantly when I’m not touching near that button, and it does AOE attack constantly when I’m clearly over on the basic attack button. I’m playing it on PC at the same time; it is a completely different experience. I would be really POed if I had paid more than 99 cents.

The Game is good but. The story is too clichéd, like I can already predict what is really going to happen next and manage to get it right. The gameplay is good but I focus more on the story. If you're after gameplay, this game is for you, however, it gets buggy sometimes.

Hidden gem classic .. needs Full screen update. amazing game. A childhood favorite from Xbox. The control scheme doesn’t translate to touch screen as well as KOTOR, but this is a great example of where using a controller will boost the experience. Still waiting for the full screen update ><

Awesome. Can use controller. I remember playing this game a lot when I was younger back in the olden days when the Xbox console was the coolest thing. I dumped so many hours into this game, and I was very sad that this game hasn’t gotten any kind of remastered because it is a gem I haven’t even played the game yet on my phone but I know it’s going to make me happy. First thing I did was grab an Xbox one controller connected to my phone and it worked so I don’t have to deal with the finicky touch screen buttons. For anybody else who’s like me wanting a little bit of nostalgia this is perfect. The folks who brought this game to Phone did a fantastic job. It is outstanding and is worth your money. Please give it to them lol

Nostalgia in your pocket. Quality RPG and brilliant port, the only thing holding it back from a higher rating is the lack of full screen support/resolution for the iPhone XS Max. You’ve done it for Star Wars KOTOR, so why not Jade Empire? Please update this and you’ll get 5 stars from me

More releases Please!. These RPG games, by BioWare (/ Aspyr Media) are by far the best RPG’s released for mobile in my opinion. Please release more of these great RPG’s for mobile; such as the sequel for Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic (Sith Lords). Thanks for all your great work with reformatting these games for the touch-screen... please continue!

You need to update the control area. Your move and attack area should be not able to interact with the background. I make me change target unexpectedly. This is very frustrating situation when you want to focus on 1 enemy between a bunch of them. The result is your character just die in the lamest way. Please fix. Add the switch target button and make the attack area and move area a safe to click area.

Almost perfect but.... This is definitely a Bioware classic and aspyr have done an awesome job on the port. A must buy. However definite improvements need to be made to the responsiveness of gestures and a larger/changes to the invisible direction pad and also to the gesture box. (IP6 user here). Otherwise use a game pad.

Good but what's with the forced repeated cut scenes?. I'm playing this on iPad pro and while I agree that the expert controls are extremely buggy - (can't heal in expert mode? Just wont work for me?) the analogue controls work good with the larger tablet screen. Only annoying thing about this game for me is the fact that I have no way to skip a cut-scene that I've already watched? Especially before difficult battles where it might take a few attempts of trying to defeat the enemies, if I die, why am I forced to sit through the whole cut scene again? Some of these are 3 minutes? I'm thinking it might be a loading distraction but even so I'd rather watch a loading screen with a bar than the same annoying dialogue and dodgy 3d model acting.. Skip button please!

Amazing port. I can't believe this game, which I used to play as a kid, now fits in my pocket. What an absolute marvel - it's amazing fun (I'm already on another play through). Beautiful settings, inspired story, and great voice acting. I can't believe it's available on iOS - it's an amazing port considering its former life of XBox/PC. The only thing I really disliked is the targeting system in the game, which is bizarre and counter intuitive at times. A 'cycle to next target' button is seriously lacking, as the action is fast paced and there is no pause button. It really affects the playability. Other than that hiccup, it's absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend more highly. Hopefully this renews interest into this painfully under-explored series.

Mediocrity: iOS port edition.. Controls are fine. Game seems fine from a technical point of view; no crashes to speak of during my playtime. Visual components leave a bit to be desired - considering games like Implosion, Infinity Blade, even ones like Aralon, is it really acceptable to see graphics like these? Noodle limbs and shaky modelling with clothes are closer to N64 Duke Nukem than present mobile device standards. No override folder options like in previous comparable entries like KOTOR or Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale entries from the same companies means your modding options don't exist. Lack of content present in the game and sometimes frustrating gameplay design means that while the template for replayability is there, the question is begged for why you'd even want to. Low customisation options is definitely notable. While it may have been a fine game in its time, a true port simply doesn't match the standard of other games around. Especially considering other options available. Considering the game's present state and its glaring limitations, it's not worth the price but still a game that works just fine on an iPhone 6s.

Great mobile game. Playing on iPhone 6 (not the big version), no controller. Gameplay and controls translate surprisingly well to the smaller screen. Quick to save and load, can swap back from other apps without it having to re-load everything. Great port of a great game.

Enjoyed!. Played to the end which I don't do often. Story presentation wasn't the greatest, disappointed with the text-on-screen ending. Not sure how it got such amazing reviews back when first released

This game is brilliant. This game is by far, one of the best games out there, I completed the game in about 30 hours plus I still had loads of quests to do, so that's basically another 10+ hours, if you liked KOTOR then you'll love this, it's basically Kung fu real time KOTOR that's in the past, with magic. But with out a doubt this game is better then most, I would say it goes par with KOTOR, also to the developers, keep on pushing out games like this because these, even thoe a decade late, are the best games on iOS and I'm sure it'll stay like that for a long time. To clarify, 1- buy this game, it's worth it,2- thanks to the people who put this on iOS, 3- one of the best games on the AppStore by far.

Top quality ios game. Really picks up after a couple hours and a bit if practice, it's not all swamps and goats.

Excellent game. If you enjoy KOTOR you will love this game. Only improvement is that it needs fullscreen support for the latest iDevices.

Great game!!!!!. First off ignore the negative reviews about controls. The controls are perfect, though I would recommend changing controls from normal to expert in settings when you purchase. Much more fluid for the touch screen. Perfect game. Amazing immersive world! Amazing story with amazing twists and lore. Amazing gameplay with amazing depth and combos. Been playing non stop since purchase. If you want to get lost in a great world with amazing characters, story and gameplay. THIS IS FOR YOU!! 10/10

As the other guy said.... Absolutely f'n horrible game on mobile, controls are completely bugged to the sht. Even on easy mode impossible to get past first boss with even expert controls let alone the horrid standard controls. Was unreal game on Xbox but on mobile it's a complete joke.

Takes some getting used to. At first I couldn't possibly fathom the controls but it turns it was because I was using the "normal" control scheme instead of "expert". Essentially "normal" is ripped straight from Xbox and "expert" is optimized for iPhone. Great game just as it always was but just make sure you use the expert control scheme.

Been waiting for this one. Really enjoyed playing the game, the story is great, a big world to explore, and I found the game easy to learn. Had no bugs or any problems, played it on iPad Pro.

Horrible. Worst game ever, controls are stupid. The analog is over the whole screen where other commands are, extremely buggy. Barely playable. I want my money back.

Can’t switch targets. Lol Also note to Apple 11 users.. Apple air 2 Attack once jump past target jump a second time out of range. Go left or right. Can see new target attack repeat. Yes you can’t target switch. Normally. But for normal no prob. There is a way to do it. It’s just hard to pull off constantly. Only really effects you for when doing second play through in hard mode. Makes it close to impossible. Without the switching feature. To get very far in new game + mode.so to speak. So replay ability level not really there. Which was a major bummer for me. As well. But light or dark play through works fine. Do wish was fixed. Myself. So could do hard mode. But not expecting a miracle. And for those with the Apple pro 11” whatever. Who are complaining. Game won’t work. This is not your fault. You are likely 30 y.o. Or younger. This game is run on emulator. Emulator created for games before 2000. Using a early windows format. So impossible to switch the monitor parameters. Person who posted thisgame to store. Needs to have Apple to block out your device from being able to purchase. Kotor and jade empire. (Same series of game engines If apple store. Won’t give you refund. Point them to this review. Tell them check I bought that game under this device. Uses a unique way or has a size the emulator for kotor can’t adjust for. With it being smaller, most likely. It not won’t work it can’t work. Anyone with half a brain can see I’m likely 90% nailed the problem. That’s it Great game Peace

One of the Best Games of All Time!!!!. This was my favourite game in the world when I was little and it's my favourite IPhone game now. A truly amazing story and epic Kung foo magic! Hell yeah! My only wish is for a PC sequel to be born from this revival, now that's a game I would love to see!

Amazing!!!!!!!!. This game is truly amazing! I love the plot and though the fighting is a bit difficult, over time, you will learn to tolerate them. There so many secrets and the swords are so good! Buy this game! It’s just amazing!

Values ịchị. Pleasant story and atmosphere. Interesting gameplay and theme. PC Action-RPG for iPad. Well worth the price of admission.

Boooooo!!!. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Adaptation to mobile controls in this classic are half assed. The crippled gameplay in combat mode will cause you no end of frustration. Ability to switch targets, which is essential to conquering many big bosses, is completely missing!!! $13.99?! For what? Nostalgia? Money grab rip off.

Average. Controls are terrible—game *must* be played with a controller. No free-look during combat, lack of target lock causes constant arbitrary target switching during battles with multiple opponents, which is endlessly frustrating. Jade Empire is a good game for the story, but actual gameplay (combat) sucks. Still worth getting if you're feeling nostalgic for the days when Bioware was still a good game company (they dumped this IP after EA took over).

Absolutely Brilliant. What a game, played it on the original Xbox almost 10 years ago and bought it almost immediately after seeing it available on the App Store. Story is absolutely brilliant and there are many ways to complete missions which is always a plus for replayability. I did an evil and a good playthrough and got about 20 hours out of it, great game and I highly recommend it. Here's to hoping they release a sequel soon!

Kung Fool. This game is unplayable with an iPad Pro. The reason is the abysmal control scheme and bizarre camera angles. I literally cannot get past the opening act of the game. I enter the scene and am immediately locked in place for an over the shoulder view of my pummelling and just die repeatedly. iPads/iPhones simply do not offer effective control for action based games. This might be a good game on another platform, but feels wonky and unwieldy on my iPad.

Great with a flaw. This game is down right fantastic and is still Biowares best game since Kotor the only problem is controls, but I found once I got use to them I had a great time, it isn’t a bad port in the slightest and I’m glad it’s here

Great game!. Amazing game, but the controls are hard to get use to at first, and can be a little awkward. But if you can get past that, it's worth the buy.

Doesn’t support new iPad Pro 11” screen. This game hasn’t been updated to support the new iPad Pro 11” screen size, there are big black borders on all sides, please update your app!

Hidden gem. Love every minutes on the game, tried both path open palm and close fist with romance of course. Never got problem on control, people got too lazy on trying.

Poor controls ruin gameplay. It’s a beautiful game with a good story line, but the controls during battles are abysmal - it’s not just that it’s frustrating, it is *impossible* to defeat certain characters because the controls don’t permit you to change focus during battle. This is beyond ridiculous. Don’t waste your time and money.

Not optimized. My phones time stays on, the remote move my guy to quickly when I’m turning, the hole thing feels unresponsive

Okay. Wish this game was compatible with a EVO ce controller. Got the game because I loved playing it and was disappointed that it was not compatible with my new Xbox. Got at MFi controller to us to play wouldn’t work someone suggested an EVO controller only to find out it won’t work :(

Barely playable. With touchscreen of the iPad,it’s barely playable, fighting is the game work really badly or not at all,the game itself is known as a good oldie but on iPad prefer to get a controller for it,also for some reason it started to uninstall itself for no reason,if it keep doing that,it will be gone.

Can’t play. App won’t install

Great amazing but I can't get sound. Great game but on my iPad Air the game no sound

Yeaahhss. Loved this game

Touch controls are fine. Touch controls are easily manageable. Playing on an iPhone 7. Another flawless Aspyr port.

IPHONE X SUPPORT!. I would rate this classic higher but this game needs to be updated. There's should be no reason why this game is not optimized for the iPhone X at full screen. No Black borders please!!! Thank you!!!!

Unplayable. Tedious pointless dialogs, character controls unresponsive, very verbose interactions ... lost $10 because of course, non refund proposed for this obvious purchase mistake ...

Not optimized for iPhone XS Max. Screen resolution needs to be fixed!

No sound. I love this game but there is no sound for me when I play

Blown Away. I remember playing this back in 2003 as a kid on xbox (yes, It's rated 17+, I wasn't raised a snowflake millennial). Now 2017, I'm playing it on my iPhone! Pros: Childhood memories relived Cons: controls are a bit annoying.

Simply horrible. Managed 3 whole minutes of the game tutorial before I quit in disgust having wasted $10. Absolutely unworkable controls. Tried about 30 times to follow instructions to block, to no avail. Graphics from 1980s game console. Utterly unappealing. Maybe interesting to retro players from pc but, if you are looking for a fresh compelling RPG steer away from this mess

Star Wars Knights of the old republic two. Please make an app for SWKOTOR two I would gladly pay your games are great

The control system. As much as I love this game the control system in this game is beyond a joke. You can double tap and the character won’t move at all. Even when you switch it to block to evade still no movement. This is without the most disgusting thing about this game

love Jade Empire. I love this game can you guys pls do iphone X update

I love this game!. Please format it to iPhone X please!

Those controls though. The controls aren't good or responsive. When I die, it's usually because my character won't do what I want.

Update. I love jade empire but can y’all please update it for the iPhone X/Xs/Xs Max/Xr

Scam. I feel ripped off. Stay away from this horrible port. Controls are not usable and don’t adapt to moving targets. On top of this, the app is not optimized for the X and just looks broken. Shame on the publishers for allowing this to be sold. Will seek a refund somehow.

iPhone 11 beware.. Does not fill up screen , only part of screen is used.

Problems. Didn’t work for my phone :(

Amazing. One of the best RPGs available on iOS when played with a gamepad. Wish it were available on Apple TV.

No cloud save??!. Great game but please add a cloud save feature so we can transfer a saved game between different devices

No Volume!?!?. Best freaking game in existence. I can’t hear anything 😭😭

Expert combat doesn’t work. Please fix it, I cannot do anything with expert combat, tapping anything just would not work.

Can’t move character during combat. Would love to give 5 stars because I love this game, but on iPad the character randomly gets stuck and won’t move during combat making you a sitting duck and progress tediously slow as you need to repeat every fight 10 times to proceed.

I act love the game BUT. The controls for this game are HORRIBLE. Trying to do the most simple movements Is a struggle unless you use an actual controller unlike the mobile port of KOTOR.

Load. Load doesn’t work at all

Won't work on my iPad mini 2. It says it is compatible for iPad mini 2, but it lags a ton and the sound glitches. Then, it won't let me get farther than 2 phases into the game. I deleted it immediately. May I have a refund?

My first experience playing this is on iOS. I have gotten more than 7 hours into the game and I'm extremely impressed. Those complaining about touch controls should just buy an Mfi controller, I use gamevice and it's flawless. Absolutely perfect for Mfi. Graphics are great, and I saw the review talking about the in game cut scenes being less quality. So silly, are you playing the game for the awesome fights, the music the graphics during the gameplay, the storyline? To complain about the cutscenes is a joke, they are the original cutscenes and it's just fine let alone minuscule to the overall game. There's another guy who can't download it, that's either you (your not waiting to fully download, your phone or your wifi) or apple. The developers have nothing to do with you downloading anything from the App Store, review apple poorly not the game you can't download for likely user issues. So far the pros are the storyline, gameplay with lots of fighting (like your own martial arts movie) and the music. The cons are probably touch controls but why play a game like this for the touch, too many buttons for a phone, maybe better on iPad. The graphics are a pro during the gameplay and the cutscenes are certainly not a con with graphics, but not a pro. Honestly it's nice to see the original game cutscenes with updated gameplay graphics. I give this a high 9.5, and I do so because it's a great game from a great developing team who has brought the best games to iOS. This game moves mobile gaming to the next tier and hopefully more teams will bring new huge titles to the mobile gaming platform. Tested on iPhone 6s Plus iOS 10.2

Half of game missing?. I remember this game being longer when I was a kid.

Great port, great game. Playing without any issues on an M1 iPad Pro. Highly recommend this game.

iPhone X. Pls, make screen mode for iPhone X :3 Thank you

Not happy. Everything is too tiny. Game is hard to understand objectives. I am uninstalling would be nice to get a refund.

A BioWare game on iOS!. I’m so happy I found this game, as BioWare is my favorite game developer. The only complaint I have is how hard it is to move around! The controls are horrendous.

TERRIBLE control schema. Seriously whoever decided that button presses on the attack/dodge/power attack buttons could also select a different target is a complete fool and should find a career in the liberal arts. Edit: turns out ASPYR screwed up the turning mechanics for the demons as well. GREAT JOB GUYS. Absolutely love fighting things with more reach than me that can turn on a dime.

Update please. Love the game and it works fine just wish they would update it to look better on the newer iPhones and iPads.

Bought but won't install. I am very upset

Won't Download!!!. I just purchased the game and won't download... I wasted my money

Lazy port, dated. Really, you couldn’t update the UI just a little bit so that it doesn’t look like a pixelated ps1 game? Half of the NPCs with interaction icons do nothing when selected, the questing involves running around blind with no idea what to do, and the dialog choice boxes are sized wrong. It’s just so lazy.

Horrible controls. A beautiful little game with horrible controls. I can only hope I will be able to use it on my macbook. Shame on you Bioware. You know better than this. Character won’t even move in combat. Just stands there like a statue, no matter what I do.

The listed size is a lie. My phone has close to 20gb of space. Despite this the game refuses to install telling me my device doesn’t have enough space.

Great port of great game. It’s known to be a great game and this is a great port. Very few crashes or issues. Having a controller was very helpful.

Won't download. Paid for game will not download on iPad 3. Have plenty of space. Unknown error.

Jade Empire iOS Movement Buttons don't work. The left movement arrow in combat is always highlighted. I cannot move and so the game is unplayable. I wrote support and got emails saying my support request had been received, but then never got a follow up with an answer. I have an iPhone 6s+ and a 12" iPad Pro, both running, iOS 12.3.1 and Jade Empire 1.0.2. Both devices show the same issue.

Replay value?. Once you beat the game can you play it over with a toon you’ve already leveled up???

Great sept one thing. When trying to attack am constantly swapping opponents makes it hard to kill in groups of mobs

iPhone 11. I love this game but can we get the screen fitted to the iPhone 11???

iPhone XS and newer screen support. Please update the game for full screen like you did for KOTOR. For iPhone XS and newer.

Terrible controls. I loved this game back in the day but the controls are terrible. Half the time your character will not move even though your holding in a direction. It's way too frustrating.

Phone adaptation is awful. This version is not even worth downloading. JE is a great game; but the adaptation to iOS is terrible. The game controls are clumsy and it is seriously zero fun. Don’t waste your time.

Still one of the best games on The App Store. You won’t find a better console quality RPG on the App Store! Amazing story. Controls are great!

Like "Mass Effect" meets "Crouching Tiger". A very high-quality port of a fun and eccentric game. Very reminiscent of "Mass Effect" gameplay. What a great time to be both a mobile gamer and a retro gamer!!! <3

AMAZING. I played this on the Xbox as a kid I'm glad it was ported to the IOS some minors problems with the controls but other then that I am happy

Please make this iPhone X screen compatible!. Love the game and no issues. Please make it fill the entire screen of an iPhone XS Max
